But and then I also have people that we do large deals with where we do split the commission, right? But like, they're also involved and they're fully negotiating and like, conversating with the brand. And I'm more so just on the David side. And that's why they're getting that half of the commission. Right. So, but yeah, I mean obviously now I'm moving forward. I think that we will set the precedent and make it very clear. What do you say? I usually want the equity, but I need the cash. Okay, I'd never I never care for equity. Yeah, ever really. Yeah I got equity in something this year and you actually actually paid out. No, I mean I have it. Oh But I don't think I've ever experienced like an equity moment like I feel like there's not like a lot of things We invested in yeah, and I'm still kind of just waiting for it. I don't I've never experienced is it like a 10-year thing? 20-year thing. Yeah, I would say so. I mean obviously you can get really lucky and a company goes through the roof and in three years They sell and you're Caching out but right most of the time I would say it's like five to ten years What about Dobricks? Well, that ever gets popped up. Well, hopefully. Yeah. Yeah, how was it supposed to answer that? I don't know. No, not Dobricks Yeah, but like Dobricks also like that has that's different because it's mine So it's like they have a lot of equity for and that's like and we're all the alcohol companies that you know Our friends gave money to and yeah, like I just had the option. I have a I had $50,000 in this alcohol company that we invested in yeah in like Fuck what 2017. Yeah, yeah, like yeah, like 10 years ago Yeah, and they just came back. They're like we want to buy your shares out for like 150 Yeah, right and yeah, I was like double. Okay. So it's for like a hundred great. We want to buy you off for a hundred and then I was like Well, no, because why are you buying me out? Like are you about to do really good? My fucking hate equity, so I was like no, just keep the money. So so now I'm like Yeah, hell yeah, but yeah, but now it's like confusing Yeah, because then it could be worth nothing still. Yeah, and there's been actually moments where I've been offered This is one particular moment now he knows this where I was I had a lot of equity in like a company Yeah, and they were like We're got we'll give you we'll give you X amount now We'll give you a hundred thousand for a couple of your shares or we'll buy at all your shares for 10 million Oh, and I was like No, something good is about to happen if you're fucking willing to offer me for all my shares for that much I'll take the hundred grand it took the hundred grand Company went nowhere. I just missed out on millions of dollars. So like and this is why I say wait the company went nowhere Yeah, and the shares are kind of worth the shares are worth nothing now But it's like it's very interesting how many times I've had Moments in investing and an equity and in business plays that I've gone the exact opposite way of like of what I've been wanting I feel like I always make the wrong decision - I get paid in Bitcoin and so I have to do this thing where I So funny to get paid in Bitcoin. I have to put what they've given me into Bitcoin and then it has to go to my bank account But what happened is if I put it into Bitcoin and then Bitcoin goes down then I've lost money Yeah, so then it's like you know what I mean, but it's not like I'm like no No, they pay you immediately a Bitcoin you explain to weird you were like they pay me and then I put it into Bitcoin No, they pay me so it goes to your bank and then I have the way I get it out is through Bitcoin Okay, and then from Bitcoin no, no, no, it's not it's not I'm not that I'm not sure why he's explaining that weird They pay you where they pay me on the platform and then you have to cash it out into Bitcoin Okay, okay, and then you have to put it in your bank account. See you're being paid in Bitcoin It yes, but one time that sounded like you're explaining is you get a pay it goes to your bank and then for some reason you have to put it into Bitcoin Yeah, there's a third step you get paid in Bitcoin Period you add an extra step I go keep going no because one time when I got paid in Bitcoin and I left it in there It went down. Yeah, so then I law and then I'm sitting there waiting to take that money out until it goes back up Yeah, that's all no that happened to me. I got paid in Bitcoin once. Yeah, and that turned into two that turned to four and it got up to like I think the last bet was like $60,000 To make my like one 20 back Wow, and then we lost like six or seven six seven that's the hands in a row that feeling of Losing whether it's a hundred dollars, even if I've gone to Vegas and been like, oh, let me check a three hundred bucks out And I just lose it right away. That's why I hate gambling in Vegas I always like every time I bring a thousand dollars in cash yeah to gamble with in Vegas and now I'm pretty good at it Where I'm like I'd so much rather you use that money to tip the people yeah that cuz I'm gonna lose it to the casino But we describe that feeling of losing it like it's like a you guys know what I mean It's like a specific feeling. Oh, I don't actually care when I lose it My problem is I don't care when I win because like how much is a thousand dollars winning me like nothing to excite me So I'm like I'd rather I have like serious guilt when I go to hotels and they take my bags That's why I never let them take my bags. Yeah, I arrive at a hotel Because I if I don't have cash on me and I can't tip I feel like a fucking asshole right but in Vegas Especially like tipping is so big in Vegas. Yeah, it's like now every time I come in with a thousand dollars in cash That I tell myself it's for gambling. I just use it on tips because I'm like it's gonna disappear I'm not gonna sit at the table when two thousand dollars and walk away. That's a fucking happening. What about valet you have cash on you? Yeah, like even when I'm at a club And you take a picture like that then I like and then I like my guard comes down And then I could even like party with you and hang out with you But like when you're doing it from far away, my guard's not down. I'm like, what are you doing? You ever you ever like? Yeah, you ever like You ever have somebody come up and recognize you and then You just they're great and they really are excited and then the more they hang with you The less cool they find out you are Never meet your heroes. I don't know I wouldn't know that So maybe they'd go home and be like, yeah, he sucks I know why the less excited they are that's happened. Yeah, yeah Really, I think so. Yeah - Yeah, like where? - I'm trying to think, like, I've definitely like been somewhere and then like start hanging out with the person and then, and then they're like really excited. And then maybe like, half an hour later, you like ask them a question and they ignore you. We had a guitar flight and we had to check out early. So we were in the lobby for like 40 minutes. - Yeah. - And like people would come and sit next to us when we were like brutally hungover to have conversations. And like we do the picture and then they sit down next to us and then be like, what's new? What's going on? And we would be like, we're not talking to each other. - Yeah, yeah. - That's where we're just so fucking out of it. That's when people were probably like, oh yeah, they're really fucking boring. (laughs) But usually like, usually if you see us out, we're doing something, we're out for a reason. So we're like about to go do something fun. - With energy. - Yeah, so our energy's there. I'm like, I don't know. I was thinking about how like I really don't leave this house unless I'm going to the airport, which kind of sucks. I need to find like a hobby or like a reason to leave the house. - Oh, I like this topic. What would you do? - It just be paddle. - Is there any, oh, is there any part? There's this gonna be a no. But is there any part of you that like wants to explore like other aspects of this city? Like I always think about, like I went to Echo Park the other day. I've never been to Echo Park in my 10 years living here, but my sister was like, we should go. He never fucking been like, what the hell is Echo Park? Some girl was talking about like the tears of celebrity or dad or something. - Oh yeah, well, I feel like there's been a big like stink about like New York Fashion Week that just happened recently and like other celebrity, the Emmys, like all these different like celebrity events or whatever and there's a lot of influencers that are obviously now attending and going to all these things. And before there was like teen choice, people's choice, MTV, you know, video music awards, there was like these like mid-tier events that a lot of these like middle ground sort of celebrities would go to attend, but they don't exist anymore. So now you're just seeing more of these influencers in like middle ground celebrities that are going to these like A-list style events. And this person was just-- - But what was the title of it that the A-lister is dead or the celebrity era is dead? What was it? - There are no levels to pop culture. - There are no levels to pop culture anymore. That's what it was. Yeah, it's kind of interesting. I get it, but it's also like, it's also like, okay, take like who's like the coolest influencer right now? Like an Alex Earl, right? Like take Alex Earl and say like if there was like the teen choice awards, like would she go? Yes, but then she'd also be at the other things, right? Her team wouldn't just be like you're just doing the teen choice awards. - Well, that's, it's not about her team. It's like people are saying like there should, like there should still be this segregation, whether that's right or wrong, but between like a traditional celebrity and like an internet celebrity for whatever reason. - Oh really? Is that what people are saying? That seems totally ass backwards. - Totally, totally. I don't think it needs to be completely segregated, but it's like not, like we don't have, we like I'm making these decisions, like that people don't have to like mush everybody into one room just because like it'll get a lot of views and clicks and engagement or whatever, but that is the reason why they do that obviously. - So like, okay, I'm throwing a party for New York Fashion Week. I'm a high-end brand. - Yeah. - And I'm only gonna have Jay-Z Beyonce, Mark Raffalo, A-list people, and no influencers, that makes no sense. - I think in terms of like, - It's just not what kids are after. - I think what's also different about influencers is I think there's different layers of an influencer. Like I think, like I think if I'm a brand and like let's say I don't want to, I don't wanna just, like there's a way to invite influencers and just have like someone with high numbers, but then there's also a way to invite an influencer that like actually puts out things. Like that are like, that feel like they're contributing to entertainment in society. - That's what I think. - I think Alex Earl is a good example of a person who like very much has a brand and is like, you know exactly what she does and you're tuning in for very specific things. And then there's somebody like, a random TikTok dancer back in the day that is just like, what's going on? This person's just like, is like having a peak in virality. - I see. - Like then I think there's a person like, good mythical morning, right? They're like influencers, but they're not really 'cause they're like, they have a thing that they put out. - Yeah. - I think there's like, - And they're an Netflix though. - Yeah, I think there's a difference in like somebody who's like consistently putting out like content. - That's very good, yeah. - That is, that like stimulates you in more ways than just brain rot. And I think like separating that, I think a lot of influencers are all grouped into Unbubble, which is fine, whatever, who cares. But like, I think like once you expand that, there's like so many different levels of an influencer. And not to say that you can't, you could also start as like the most basic dancer influencer and then blossom into something, you know. Like an Addison, right? Like she just started dancing and then she like really found her lane and what she is. And then she like, it was, she started contributing to Endrotainment in a much bigger way than just like doing a trend and being a pretty face. She like made really, really cool music and like was made really cool fashion choices. And like, so I think there's ways to do both. And I always think I, this is like, I'm obviously biased 'cause I am from the influencer space. But like I will never ever understand. And like an Addison rate to me is 1,000 times more interesting than an actor that has blown up on a Netflix show. I will die on that hill from the beginning of time. Like an actor that blows up on an Netflix show is just a human being that has been cast by a person to fit someone's vision. And it was just like, to me it was just like the right person for that right moment. And now they're big because someone else's vision came to life. Like someone else's creation came to life. And now, 'cause they're the billboard of that vision is big. Like I think that's cool. But I don't know why that's held to something higher than like an Addison ray. Because there's a mystery behind it. - I get that. No, no, I get why it is. But I just don't think it should. Like I think Addison who has like literally started from the bottom of like something like just creating. - She started in her bedroom. - Yeah. And like built an audience on her own and then turn that audience into something that's like, that started to like where she's gotten more respect for what she does and has created an art out of it. I think that's fucking really cool. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - 'Cause like you've garnered all that on your own rather than like, oh yeah, this casting director saw something in me. Like I think in that case, what's more impressive is the casting director has a vision in an eye for something. And not to take away from like an artist that is blown up right away. But I'm just saying, I don't think those two are so far apart as people make them out to be. Like I think people, you'll see a Netflix are blow up and then you'll see a person like Addison right next to them. And then people will always take the, Netflix star and newly that's been, you know, that's fresh out of water. So the first gig that are like, why is Addison standing next to this person? And I'm like, what? Addison's been doing this for fucking nine years. Like it's a completely different thing. This person has, yes, behind the scenes, been auditioning for a long time. It's also been working at it. But for that exact reason, I think they are equals. And I don't think that like one way of getting to where they are is more noble than another. I think they both have like, yeah, I think they both have had very good. Yeah, they deserve their stripes and badges on their own. I don't know.
