Complaining Is All I Have Left | Joe DeRosa Vile and Horrendous
41m 53s
The host reflects on a joyful week of new content premiering on Netflix, expressing gratitude to viewers for their support and positive reactions to both *A Rose Garden* and *Tires*. He dives into a satirical yet affectionate exploration of aging through a viral Instagram bot featuring a 47-year-old woman who eats dino nuggets in a bikini, symbolizing youthful freedom and resistance to societal expectations. He contrasts this with a graceful performance by 67-year-old Stacey Kew, arguing that aging can be beautiful and empowering when embraced with authenticity. The segment includes a humorous discussion of naming a new term—“smut dog” or “cock sucker”—to describe controversial, playful references to aging and sexuality, ultimately advocating for accepting one’s age without shame. The host also shares personal life lessons about aging: older people complain more because they’re near the end of life; people with poor life choices get rewards (like early airport boarding), while others don’t; moving away from family leads to emotional distance; moods become more fragile; and the desire for alcohol and drugs intensifies with age. He also notes that the sound of "Happy Birthday" becomes deeply distressing, and proposes that instead of receiving birthday greetings, individuals should have the freedom to say one personal message to everyone on their birthday. The segment closes with a heartfelt story about a veteran who survived a mugging and chose to celebrate his final night, highlighting resilience and joy in the face of trauma. The host ends by criticizing a Texas law that blocked access to anime platforms like Crunchyroll, arguing that broad censorship harms innocent users while protecting a worthy cause—child pornography prevention—and urges people to use VPNs instead. He concludes with a list of upcoming live show dates and a call to support his YouTube channel and new content.
(upbeat music) - Good and end, good and end to an opening song, Hey folks, Vile and Herendus brought to you by YMH and your host, the Vile Herendus, I am he, and he is I and I am him, that's how it goes. Hey, good to be back. Good to be back, what a couple of weeks it's been. Wow, what a joy, first of all I want to thank everybody that's been watching and writing to me about the special hitting Netflix, I never promised you a Rose Garden out now, available now. Please watch. And also thanks to everybody been watching Tires and saying such nice things. Tires needed a little less of a push from me than the special did. There's a guy on that show that's kind of famous. I think his name is Shane. But seriously, what a joy it has been to have both of these things hit Netflix in the same week and hear all of this really lovely feedback about both of them. It's one of the, one of the few times in life I realize how lucky I truly am and I mean that. So thank you to everybody. Thank you for watching and keep watching. Don't stop watching. Don't stop to get enough. Anyway, we got a show to do here, all right? And first up, we're going to hit you with a PSA, our newest segment. Give it to me. - How was it before you? - What the fuck happened with that? - It might have been a computer setting, we're reloading it. - You can set the computer to play things that slow? - I mean, you could do anything. - Shit, I wish I knew that. I'd be watching stuff slow all the time. - What type of stuff? - Probably, come shots. So it would look like there was more coming out of the man. - Let's try playing it again real quick. Here's our PSA. - Okay, hold on. - One second, I'm going to-- - I mean, the voice is so appropriate to the visual. I mean, this feels like a drug trip or something. This feels like-- - Right? - I like it. I'll just tell you what she says. We don't have to play the whole video. She said, "Is anybody else eating dino nuggets for dinner?" And then she talks about how she's 47 years old, but she still likes to eat dino nuggets, even though she doesn't have kids or anything like that. And you know what? I think she's doing it right. She's in a bikini, right? She's letting the cans out on IG and she's eating dinosaur-shaped chicken. It's, enjoy yourself, right? Have a good time. Now, I know a lot of you will think that Contra Dicks might take on Madonna these last couple of weeks, but it doesn't. That's what I'm talking about. That is saying, "I don't want to grow up. I'm going to have a good time until I die." How do I have a good time until I die? Hey, I'm going to eat dinosaur nuggets in my bikini at dinner, like I'm 11 years old. That's what 11-year-olds do. They eat dinner in their bathing suits in the summertime. Remember that? You'd get out of the kitty pool or whatever, and you'd go inside and you'd still wear your wet bathing suit at the dinner table and you'd eat your chicken nuggets, whatever special thing you got, 'cause you refuse to eat the growing up food, and you got on with your day. That lady's still doing it. I think she says she's 47. Keeping it together. It's one hell of a bot on this lady, right? Let's show her again. Just a pick. We don't got to play the creepy voice again. Check out this bot at 47. I mean, she is popping, right? - That smash. - Yeah. - Big cross. I love that. Stomach tattoo, fake boobs, giant crucifix. I guess you could do both, I guess, yeah, sure. Right now. Anyway. - We'll play it again. - Do you also have in dino tater tots for supper, or is it just me? - She looks, wow, she looks like a cave man's girlfriend. Right? - Dinosaur. - Doesn't she kind of got a cave? - Come on now. - Cave Glady Vibe, do her. - Yes, and yes. - Yeah, I like that. - Look at her right, too. - Oh, she looks wild. - She can fact about me as a-- - Those dino nugs are not the only thing she's having for dinner. - Whether it's dino nuggets. - She's got a straw to dinner table, and it ain't for soda. - Do you think that tattoo of her pussy? - You know, Crinkle Cut. - Well, that's what I'm saying. She's got the, she's got the bussy tattoo. - You name it? - Right, above the pus, or the fussy. What's it called? The front pussy? The frussy? Whatever the fuck it, you know what I mean? - Fupa. - Fupa. - There it is. - Beer brought washed. - Uh, she got the cream cheese. - Fupa tattoo. The red hair. - And pasta salad. - Big fake boobs. I mean, I'm assuming those are fake. - Yeah, I've already smashed before I heard her voice, but now I double smash. - So is anybody else-- - I mean, this lady's wild, dude. You'd wake up, you'd stay in her house, you'd wake up, she'd be already looking at you giggling. (laughing) But hey, my point is she's living life. People have fun. Have the fun this lady is having. How great is that, man? Big bottle of jack up on the shelf? I love it. I love it with this. Cheers to you, miss. Cheers. Now, again, I'm glad that I actually got to play that clip as I also addressed the continued criticism and feedback I'm getting about the Madonna critique. By the way, there's been a lot of people agreeing with me. More people agreeing with me than not. Once again, it is not me saying Madonna should quit. It is me saying you should just, you have to accept certain things about your age. You can remain young at heart, okay? But some things you're doing aren't good for you anymore at your age and it shows and that's always trying to say. I don't think it's an unfair criticism to make. I think she should keep going. I just think she should act like the aged queen. She is. There is no harm in that. And we got a new segment. More on Madonna. (clicking) Probably the only time we'll do this segment. But whatever. And here's exactly what I'm talking about. Let's play this other Instagram clip. Hopefully this one isn't all, okay. So here we go. This is Stacey Kew. She had a big hit in the '80s, two of heart. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Look how amazing this is. She's up there. She's gorgeous. She's dancing. She's doing her song. And she is in no way trying way hard to appear that she is not the age that she is. She's just up there being graceful, elegant and amazing. And I look at this woman and I go aging is beautiful. Aging is awesome. Aging is perfection. And this is how we all should be aging with grace. That's it. Now it also doesn't hurt that Stacey Kew is Shemokin. I don't know how old she is but dear God. Held? No, I was just saying I would smash this one too. Jesus God. Imagine if that's what your nano looked like. Fucking boner under the ice cream on the table. Sorry. This is starting to sound a little sexist. That won't mean for me. She's 67 by the way. 67, same age as Madonna. Can we see the difference? Am I crazy? Do we see the difference in what I'm talking about here? We do, right? Yeah. Totally different performance. Pussy hounds, do you all agree? Yeah, I agree. 100%. Thank you. That was a woman's voice. Which one? Well, the dick sucker. I'm sorry. What was your, Carly? Sorry, Carly. What was your name? The pussy hounds in one dick lover? It was Coxucker. Coxucker, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I forgot. I'm sorry. Well, this actually brings me to a point. I was going to really like champion a new name today, but you really just doubled down on Dick Soccer. So I don't know. Oh, what's the new name? You can champion it. So we came up with smut dog. Because you know, we have the pussy hounds. We think it sounds better than-- And you're the smut dog? Yeah, I'm the smut dog. I think Dick Soccer's way better. Don't let her dick herself out the hole. Carly, as a woman in the workplace, do you protest to Dick Soccer? Because if you do, I have to accept that and not ever say it again. Well, I feel like as much as I don't love it, Coxucker rolls off the tongue better than Dick Soccer. Like, it's a bit aggressive. It is, but that's why it's funnier.
- Okay. - All right, I'll say cock sucker, fine. I will abide by HR's rules. - But no, smart dog. - Smart dog is nowhere near as good as cock sucker and you know it. - Okay. - We all know it. - We'll see what the comments have to say on that. - All right, comment. Sound off in the comments. (laughing) But for today, it's so funny that that would be the HR rule. Dick Sucker's offensive, you have to say cock sucker in the workplace. I want to take a second to shed some light on something that a lot of men experience, but very few talk about. All right, let's get into the secret zone, people. From feeling tired all day, but unable to sleep at night, I've been there, feeling more irritable. Me? Never. But less motivated to having stubborn belly fat that doesn't go away no matter what you do. What are they sneaking to my house and plant a camera? These symptoms often get treated like separate issues, but guess what folks? They're all consequences of hyper cortisol, okay? And since modern life, can keep cortisol levels spiked 24/7 that lends to your body making less testosterone? When both of these levels are out of whack, all of your energy, your sleep and recovery, it all goes out the window. And that's why Mars, man, is great. They are here to target both sides and support testosterone while also managing cortisol. And it doesn't have any weird stimulants or synthetic hormones. I know we got a lot of segments on this show, but this is one, and I think that this one will live on amongst the other segments we've had that have recurred more than others. But this is something new. It's called Life Lesson. All right, so why did I write this? Well, again, it's about aging. That's kind of the theme of everything where we've talked about so far today. I turned 49. And it's a moment, and in light of my turning 49, I made note of some things that I have learned in my old age. These are just observations I've had about myself. And other people too, as I enter this new year of life. And I think these might be helpful to you or insightful or whatever you want to call them. But these are just things I've realized. Realizations as I grow older. First up, people wonder why old people complain so much. Why is the old guy always complaining? Why is the old woman always complaining? Folks, because it's all you have left, okay? It's all you have left. The closer you get to death, the worse your mood gets. And you figure, why am I the only one suffering right now? I'm gonna make this asshole as miserable as I am if not for a few moments. That is why people complain more and more as they get older. Fuck you, I am on my way out. And it is time for you to suffer a bit. Again, even if it's just for 10 seconds, this is what's happening right now. I'm not going down on the ship alone. The next thing I've noticed, this has to do with lifestyle perks. You'll notice as you age, certain people are given special treatment, given their life situation, like in the airport. A lot of the times when you board an airplane, they'll make an announcement and they'll say, people with children two years of age or younger can board early. Fuck off, fuck off. You get to board earlier than me because you squirted out a couple of kids, fuck off. Do I also get rewarded for my poor choices? 'Cause that's what you're getting rewarded for. Your poor choices and you get to get on the plane early. I don't get rewarded for mine. They're never like, also if anybody else is hung over his shit and you might actually puke on the person next to you, please get on the plane early right now. That doesn't happen and that starts to bother you as you get older. You get aggravated that people aging, they get perks based on their choices versus yours. And speaking of travel, if you choose, and I got a lot of experience with what I'm about to talk about, if you choose to move away from the area that most of your family and friends live, it will probably be your hometown. Okay, if you choose to move away from there, guess what? You're on your fucking own with that shit. You are on your own. Say goodbye to those people. You ain't seeing them. And guess what they're all gonna say to you. They're all gonna go, "We never see you anymore. We miss you. When are we gonna see you?" You know what that means? Here's what that means. How come you never come directly to us to hang out anymore? The chances of these people ever getting their fat asses on a plane to ever visit you lie somewhere between zero and fat fucking chance. It's not gonna happen. So pick a place you like if you're gonna move away and make some new friends. Start figuring out who you can have Thanksgiving with. It's coming, trust me. You're gonna have new Thanksgiving people around you soon. Here's something else I've noticed about myself. It's got to do with my attitude. If something irks me, it's gonna irk me. No matter what. I can't stop it from happening. You're watching a movie or a TV show and something good will happen to one of the characters in the show, you know? And they'll be in a great mood. And then somebody else will do something a little like snarky to them. And the good mood character will go, nothing you say could get me down today. Do you know what I'm talking about guys? Yeah. Yeah, right? I've never felt like that. Ever and it only gets worse as I get older. Anything can get me down at any moment at all times. Any good mood can be broken instantly. Namedrop Patton Oswald said to me once. He said this to me once he goes, "Dude, they could invent a bowl of ice cream that gives you a blow job and you'd find a way to complain about it." He's right. I'd be yelling at the bowl like, "Teeth, watch the teeth!" I forget it, I don't even want ice cream anymore. I'm just, I don't know. The moods, it's just this thing, man. Another like aspect of what I'm talking about with this urking thing. You can't control, I can't hide what's happening in here, the older I get. Whatever's happening here, it shows here. You follow me? I went into this hotel. I was a couple of years back, but not that long ago. I was still in my later 40s, but I went into, I was staying at a hotel called the Moxie in Portland, and they gave you a drink ticket when you checked in. So I was going down to do my show the next day, and I went to the bar, and the bartender goes, "Hey, can I get you something?" I go, "Yeah, I got one of these. "I believe this entitles me to a free drink." And the bartender goes, "Yes, it does. "It gets you." I mean, look at that hipster bloodbath and fucking, right? Could anything look more Portland? And I know the Moxie is not just in Portland, but it's so Portland, it's ridiculous. By the way, when you get upstairs and you log on, it says, "The Moxie is owned by Hilton Hotel Grimuth." It's owned by, "I love when the corporate guy's trying to be like, "Let's show the young people we get it." It's just funny. All right, pull this down. I, yeah, thank you. But here's the thing, so the kid goes, the kid goes, "Yeah, that gets you a free cocktail." He goes, "It gets you one of my Moxie decaries." And I go, "What's that?" He goes, "Well, it's spiced rum and muddled strawberries "and a blackberry syrup." And I whip it all up into a frozen cocktail. How does that sound? Would you like a Moxie Decory? And I just go, "No." You can't, you see I was saying. By the, there's no filter from here or here to here. It just comes out the way it's gonna come out. That gets worse the older I get. Oh, here's another thing that happens the older you get. And we do a lot of unboxings and things on this show. So, and if you're, whatever, here's the point. The older you get, the less the shit you own is worth stealing. Okay, let me explain what I mean by that.
But as you age, as you age your tastes narrow, they narrow greatly. When you're young, right, you want to spend your money on flashy shit, cool shit, shit other people around you like will desire an envy. You want to impress your friends. When you get older, you just want what you want, all right. I feel bad, honestly. I feel bad when the Amazon delivery guy steals my packages because he does, it's not always the same guy. It happens. And I'll get irritated when the delivery person steals my packages. But honestly, I ultimately feel bad because the person steals it and they think they're getting away with something, like they're going to cash in. So I'm just like, yeah, man, good luck with that, with the resale value on that criterion collection 4K of Albert Brooks' defending your life. You're not gaining a lot of miles in the pawn shop with that one, you know what I mean? It's just everything in my apartment is like that. Collectors edition of the third release of Solo a Star Wars story or whatever, it's just shit nobody else wants except me. Oh, here's another one. These are some quick ones. These are some quick bullet points about you aging. I feel like I could have thought of a better example than Solo and I didn't, I wasn't happy with that. I wasn't happy with that punch, but you've seen the shit I've unboxed on this show. Do you think anybody wants to bust into my apartment to steal my 4K of the last temptation of Christ? Nobody wants it. I'll leave my doors open anymore. Come on in. Once you take the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation, you know, you're pretty much shit out of luck. All right. And I never have money laying around. The older you get, you never have cash. Anyway. All right. Quick one, late at night, as you get older, late at night, fucking will become far less important than eating, eating will become far less important than jerking off and jerking off will remain far more important than how bad you have to piss. And you'll take that dangerous gamble every time. While we're on bodily functions, shitting never ends. And you get older. I know this is a little gross, but it's true. Shitting never ends. Every bowel movement is perpetual, perpetual. You may think it's over. You may feel empty. You might feel clean. You might have used baby wipes. You might have even taken a shower. But I promise you, after all that, give it a quick check. There's more shit in there. Here's another thing you'll realize as you age. Every single boss you ever hated at a past job, they were actually right. You were a shitty worker with a bad attitude. It's a miracle you managed to keep the job as long as you did. In fact, you're probably lucky to have whatever job it is you have now. Your boss is awesome. And that is something I'm going to save for a future your wrong segment. Just put a pin in it, pussy ounce, make note of that. That's something I got a lot of thoughts on, and I want to revisit that sooner than later. This next one, this might just apply to me, but it sort of ties back into what I was saying earlier about life decisions and things like that. You know, certain left decisions and left choices don't get rewarded. But you just, you just drink more. I used to think substance abuse was supposed to taper off as you got older. I find it intensifies. I find the longer you're here, the more it's awful, the greater the need to get fucked up. It's just that simple. In fact, when you got a side from booze, give it to me, please, I'm trying to comb new depths of this association. I don't want to die, but I don't want to be here either. You follow me? That's really what older age is all about. I don't want to be here anymore, but I am afraid to die. How do I live in some sort of weird in-between realities? I'll tell you how, alcohol and drugs. That's how you do it. And if you're lucky enough like I am, you can have a job where they don't frown upon you drinking during the job. You can just drink at work. Lastly, lastly, this is last in the list, the list, list. The sound of Happy Birthday, both the song and the expression, okay, it's unbearable. First of all, I've always hated the song. I fucking hate the song. Does anybody enjoy being sung that song? Anybody? A room full of people sitting there going, hey, just sit while we sing at you. It's fucking creepy. This what a cult would do right before they sacrificed you. It is. Trevor, have just one person sing it to you? Again, it feels like murder is right around the corner. My mom sings it to me every year on my voicemail. When I see my phone ring every year on my birthday and it's my mom, I don't answer because I know if I do, she's going to sing me Happy Birthday and I can't deal with it. So then I let the voicemail take it and then every year without fail, I have to still listen to it because I'm worried she's going to say something important at the end like I've been rushed to the hospital and that never comes. It's just the song and then I call her back after and I say thank you. That was very nice because I don't have the heart to tell her that it freaks me out. I'm just going to say it on here to thousands of people. Well you get older, you don't even like people saying Happy Birthday. You don't like anybody saying it to you. Hey, Happy Birthday, you go on thanks, thank you, thank you, thank you. You don't mean thank you. What you're really saying is, oh fuck you, fuck you, what are you happy about that I'm edging towards the grave? Fuck you. I got an idea. You know what you should get to do on your birthday? Instead of people saying Happy Birthday to you, you should get to say whatever you want to everybody else for one day. For one day, all day on your birthday, you get to say one expression to everybody else. It doesn't, it has to be one thing that you land on but you get to say it to everybody free and clear on your birthday. You know what I would say? Hey, how you doing? Suck my fucking dick, I'm dying. And then I'd laugh and laugh and laugh because I'd be having a Happy Birthday. All right folks, here's your goddamn life lessons. Oh boy, I think that segment could have some legs, who knows. All right, let's move on. This is a segment, we've been a little, I feel light on this one lately. Let's get into, oh, by the way, do you want to hear how that Portland story ended? Yeah. Should have told the whole thing there but I didn't. So the guy goes, do you want the moxie thing and I go, no. And he was like really offended and he goes, what do you want then? I go jack Daniels on the rocks. The scowl, this kid made it me. The scowl, because this is a bartender in Portland. You know, like, and he had the little like candy store, molester moustache. Do you know what I'm talking about? The full handlebar? Yeah, this kid has been waiting. His entire bartending career to find the perfect bar in the perfect city that would let him fucking shove this abomination he's created onto people that would actually want it, right? So he goes, what do you want that I go jack Daniels on the rocks and he was just looking at me like, oh, you straight white male. It's like, there couldn't be a more straight white male drink, you know. And he walks away to get it for me and I was sitting next to this guy and I start talking to him. And I said, what's your story man? And he goes, yeah, I was supposed to be here on vacation all week. I go, well, what happened? He goes, well, it's my last day and I go, well, how was your vacation? And he goes, not great. And I said, why? And he goes, well, I'm a veteran. This was my leave. And I go, well, though, thanks for your service, man. And he goes, well, no, it sucks. Like, what happened was he goes, the first night I got here and we were in front of these big windows. And he goes, I got mugged right out there, like right outside this window and I was like, Jesus. And he goes, they beat me so bad I had a stroke and I went into a coma for a few days. And I was like, oh my god. And he goes, anyway, I finally out of the hospital. I have one night. I'm just going to live it up. Like I have one, I'm just going to go out and hit the town by myself and have fun. And I go, dude, that story is incredible. I'm so sorry that happened to you. You truly are a soldier, like look at you making the best out of life, even after a traumatic experience like that. Can I buy you a drink? And he goes, yeah, absolutely. And I go, how would you like a moxie frozen bakery? And I tried to give him the ticket. And he said, no. And we laughed and laughed and laughed. I thought that story would get a bigger laugh. Did you not? Well, let it be posted. [LAUGHTER]
- Perfect callback, and it actually happened. That actually happened. - Only one pussyhand was listening. - Oh, thanks guys. - Don't say that. - I'm sure you get your mind on other things. All right folks, we got some, wow shit. We don't got a ton of time now. Let's get to what a world. (air whooshing) (air whooshing) - What a world. - Not a first one. We've got for you a man accused of threatening governor over anime access. - Over anime access? - Yes. - I don't think I understand what that means. - The website Crunchyroll to be exact. - Oh yeah, Crunchyroll is the anime website. - And this particular guy, he's got a problem with accessing his anime through Crunchyroll 'cause he lives here in Houston. So he was affected by, I guess, like the porn ban that's going on, and I guess whatever system that bans like porn hub or whatever from being accessed also blocked his access to Crunchyroll. So he was not happy about that. - I mean, brother, keep it to yourself. Could you, I mean, honestly, this is just a public way of saying, I like to jerk off to weird shit. Like why would you just not keep this to yourself? This is like when you, you know, this is like you get a bad whopper. And you go, am I really gonna make a scene and ask for my money back over $4? Or am I just gonna walk out of here and try to keep some semblance of pride? Brother, go buy some DVDs, go on Amazon and buy some, or whatever website and buy some fucking anime porn DVDs. Now, by the way, I'd like to thank the governor for somehow blocking the output of anime. I've never understood anime. I've never understood, I don't get it. I don't get it. I love, I love Asian entertainment and I love Asian, like, you know? But anime, I just never got it. I've never been into the art style. You know, there's always like a woman that has like tentacles coming out of her boobs and a robot and with a sword and I don't know. I just, I guess on paper it sounds kind of cool, but I've just never been into it. So, it was meant to cut, the SB 20 law in past in 2045 was meant to cut back on animated and AI generated chump. Critics worried the broad law would impact anime websites like Crunchyroll and Osmonds, argument is, it's not an adult website. Well, that's fair, it's this website shouldn't be blocked by a broad rule like this, but this is where we're at, people, there's too many people, everywhere in this country and I say it all the time. If you want something, it is going to affect a few other people in the opposite way. It's just what it is. It doesn't matter what your cause or interest is, if you are fully behind or into something, there is another, there is a, that that, the pursuit of that cause will negatively affect people that don't deserve it. It's just what you have to accept. So, a broad law designed to block AI generated child pornography or cartoon child pornography. Worthy cause, obviously, but it's going to have an unfair effect on certain people who are those people. Somebody that wants to watch something anime related on a website that is totally cool and totally legal and doesn't do that stuff, but that website's going to get blocked. Less or two evils, I'd say, a more in favor of the child porn protection, filtering, getting, whatever the hell it's called, law. Filtering sounds bad, filtering is not what I meant. I didn't mean like there should be a filter. You know what I mean? I'd rather there be a blocking broadly of child pornography of any kind than a guy in Texas not being able to watch crunchy roll, which by the way, bro, get a VPN and that's it. It's pretty simple, man. All right, let's move to one more of these. All right, I was going to read you his voice smell of God of trouble. You want to? Oh, okay. All right, basically this is what he said that God of trouble. He called the governor's office and said, my Google account says, I'm fucking over the age of 18 and your dumb asses is passing these dumb ass laws. I'm a fucking stab every goddamn one of you bitches unlock my fucking anime. Yeah, well, there you go. So this is the guy mad at the law. Again, I'm on the side of the law on this one. There you go. Summary:

As people age, their tastes narrow, they value personal possessions more, and they feel less irritation when others steal items they don’t value, like a collectors’ edition of a movie.
