Arizona merch but neither here nor there um well the one thing I'll say about Montana State last night is I said it on mostly today but uh everybody on Twitter who kind of lies and says they're fed up with college football they're fed up with the transfer portal they're fed up with the NIL they can't take it anymore even though college football ratings are higher than they've ever been people are kind of lying about that but if you are a person who hates the transfer portal hates NIL and hates what college football has become the utter antithesis of it was on TV last night when Montana State was beating Illinois State 3534 for the FCS National Championship and I'll just say this Liam in my history I remember this game just being buried on the first big ACC Big 10 Saturday of college basketball before like 11am and now they put it on Monday night I think that was a hell of an idea yeah this was an exceptional switch up to own that Monday night the first Monday night when there's no Monday night football it's a day to themselves uh and it paid off in dividends I mean do you see the crowd too Montana State and Illinois State both traveled so well it was a very intriguing matchup uh I thought Montana State was going to roll over them we were genuinely one snap away from on the greatest postseason runs that any of us have ever seen or haven't seen because so many people you know just don't watch the FCS just didn't watch it Illinois State was 600 to one to win the FCS National Championship entering the tournament that's unfathomable unheard of they remember when they picked off North Dakota State and I was screaming into the void hoping one person cared that this pesky loyal 24 point underdog preseason right top 10 was able to beat North Dakota State unbelievable um I I'm happy that the FCS had its night had its moment hopefully it carries momentum into 2026 to have their moment again in in another national championship I just want people to at least watch the semis see it makes me sick that people just focus on the the the playoff and the final four and the Miami's and the Ole Misses of the world and it makes me sick that guys like Big F and Liam Blutman focus only on the FCS game prime time Monday night because I was all about UW River Falls the other day UW River Falls uh beating beating uh Union North uh beating you got it you got it Union State North uh beating that team that they beat break you know he got it he got it the school they beat is right up from where you live north north central north uh central close to where we yeah you you you they beat them UW River Falls beat them yeah they did yeah the division three two UW River Falls big amp that's what I've been focused on I remember was it used to be the big one used to be union game boomer life life cycle people forget me and him I mean yeah we were we were we were a bastion but then we there was a healthy respect and a mutual respect and I ended up meeting him he seems like great guy so if he decided to get out of the game that's great for him if he wants to get back in the game get back in whatever I completely forgot about him I remember back in the jack mac and Katie days like there were days where we wouldn't even say his name because like we would be beeping with him so much that we wouldn't even give him the promo I was like shit this guy has just kind of disappeared but Brandon your flag will fly forever yeah I mean I'm wanting back because I did [BLANK_AUDIO] And I thought he did crazy engagement. You know, best Mexican food, tough with the Mexican foods. Tough with the Mexican food restaurants in every college town was just incredible. But whatever. Okay, so it is the college football playoff semifinals. We have Thursday night, the fiesta bowl, which I believe 30% of the seats in the stadium will be owned by Ben Mets by the time he kicks off. So we've got that the fiesta bowl of Miami and Ole Miss. And then we have on Friday, Indiana and Oregon for the rematch between the two incredible teams. I don't know how y'all want to take it. I guess I'll just start with the first one. I'll start with Miami and Ole Miss. Big have a start with you. Miami beat you guys. Well, hell, KC, they beat you guys too. But anyway, Miami has beat you guys last time we saw 'em. I've been looking at what Ole Miss has done. I think I'm gonna end up betting Ole Miss because I can't lose that way. That either I win money or I watch them lose. I will pay money to watch them lose. Anyway, Ole Miss has a magic thing to 'em. They have that quarterback that extends blaze and is great and incredible. But this Miami defensive and offensive line is something that Ole Miss has not seen this year at all. And Georgia, for all the talent they've had on defense, they were 107th in the country in Sachs this year. This Miami defensive line is a different animal for Ole Miss. I'm sure that's, if you're picking Miami to win, you're making it on that. If you're picking Ole Miss, you think that's not enough. So what do you think about this matchup? - Yeah, I like Miami. It's so tough 'cause Chambers like has that thing that say in and even like Marso Reed like don't have. Like he has, he's the full pack. It's like he can run around. He can make plays with his arm. And I think that's something that obviously will be huge from when the past verse is gonna be just stalking down on 'em. But I think what you said brings to that. I just trust Miami more. I trust that past verse. Being able to get home with four is just massive, absolutely massive. And just the offensive line. I think they're gonna slow the game down. If they're smart, they're gonna take the ball and it chambles his hands as much as they can. I think there's just two things I rely on more that I just think I can depend on more. See, I like Miami 'cause I agree with you. I think it's just a physicality that they have not seen in the SEC or really that you're gonna get from really anyone besides maybe like an Indiana at this point, to be honest. - Well, I mean, frankly, nobody's seen it. I mean, that's not just like Cyan, I mean. - Yeah, A&M hadn't seen it yet. Ohio State had seen it with Indiana. But Miami was even more physical of front in Indiana in the one game sample sizes that we saw. Tiba, you're all about tiffles and havoc rate and all of that stuff. And you're an offensive diamond by trade. This game, for Miami to win, has to be won in the line of scrimmage. For Ole Miss, the win, it has to be won at the quarterback in the skill positions. What do you think? - I think, well, I think funnily enough, I think these are both the opponent that each team, like if you told them before this season, you'll be in the semi-final against this team, they'd be like, fuck yeah, dude. Like I'll take my shot, right? These are not like the traditional powers here. There's very winnable games for these two to continue their runs. I was thinking a lot about this in the shower, trying to really parse what was the difference? What is the difference? Between how Ole Miss created the win against Georgia? What was Georgia's weakness? Does Miami have it? And I think that Miami represents a specifically bad matchup for Ole Miss in the way that Georgia did not. And it goes back to exactly what you just referenced, Brandon. Georgia, for all of its defensive prowess, was not disruptive. It was not a team that got a lot of sacks, a lot of TFLs, they tended to win with just like raw discipline, but you could see they started trying to press their shambles that last week they had to add to that rush. And then he was able to make his magic. When I worry about for Ole Miss in this game is the Rubin Bane factor. Like are there tackles capable of handling Miami's edges? 'Cause if they're not, and Miami can get pressure with four, but they can't, they's kind of the rest of the secondary. Like Miami probably wins a game. Maybe Ole Miss schemes up like chips and other creative ways without taking too many resources out of the attack, but like you really want, you want Q and Lacey doing consistently. And who else did Ole Miss lose to besides Georgia? Is it Alabama, right? They haven't lost anybody else. Oh, that was the only loss on the entire year. Interesting, for some reason I told myself they'd lost to BAM as well in the shower. No, they didn't play them. And the only defense they played so far that I think can be in the class of Miami is Oklahoma. That's what I was getting at. Yes, very good. And they kind of smoke Oklahoma's rare good defense. They score a lot on them. That's fair, that's fair. And that is about as disruptive a defense as you're going to find. So maybe my entire shower breakdown of the game just kind of fell apart on its face there. 'Cause that was like the crux of my thought. It was like, okay, Miami defensively will be able to get pressure for it. They'll be able to rush discipline, shameless, won't be able to find the holes like he did last week. And offensively, I think Miami's just going to beat you to sleep. Except like, whereas Georgia could run the ball all right, I think Miami could run it better and they can definitely throw it better, right? Georgia's biggest offensive success was just Gunner Stockton rolling out, waiting till he was like signing his own death certificate and then dumping the ball off. Like dealing with these skill weapons is going to be something completely different. So I like Miami here. I think Ole Miss's run comes to an end. - Casey, I would say you were probably pro Ole Miss being this good before anybody else. I think that's a fair statement to say. Miami, you probably didn't believe in as much. Well, actually you believe in 'em a lot to begin the season. And then 'cause your team was playing, I mean, it kind of colored your view of what you thought they would be in the playoff, I think. But now that you've seen both play two playoff games, one beat A&M on the road, one beat Ohio State in a neutral site, one beat two lane and then beat Georgia in the sugar bowl. Which way is the wind blowing for you? - Well, that was very accurate. You were right, had Miami not played A&M. I might have felt differently. And Evan and I were texting after Saturday night 'cause we went back and forth on who Miami played better and have put it perfectly. It was like two losers in the Spider-Man meme showing each other like, "Ah, who it is." But at the end of it, yeah, it's like, we both are just losers. At the end of the day, whatever Miami did at halftime against A&M when they decided we're just gonna run the ball down their throat. They carried it into the cotton bowl. Obviously, the defensive line is playing out of its mind. Like, I can't bet against Miami right now because I saw it up close and I didn't believe in them against Ohio State and I was wrong. And there's just nothing I can say about this Miami team that's gonna make me pick Ole Miss. Now, obviously, there is the whole magic we've talked about with Shamblist. He's gonna stay at Ole Miss. Kiwan Lacey staying at Ole Miss. We've got all of those narratives. I just think this Miami team is so good. And they're clicking on every single cylinder that they need to and when you look at the two losses, I mean, this is beating a dead horse at this point. When you look at the two losses, it's Carson Beck turning the ball over. He's not turning the ball over right now. So I have to take Miami. Liam, I just, Ole Miss is, we'll be, let me think about this. Ole Miss will probably be the best offense Miami has faced. I think that's fair to say, Ole Miss is an elite offense. But Texas A&M and Ohio State both have pretty good offense. So Ohio State has really good offense. Texas A&M had good numbers this year offensively. They've given up 17 points in two playoff games. They've been dominant. Does it continue? Yeah, I mean, their defense has been absolutely relentless and as you guys have already spoken about, it starts with the front four. It starts with Mezdor, it starts with Bane. The aggressive, fearless attitudes, the incredible breathtaking get offs that Bane has been able to get. I'm very eager and excited to see the matchup between Mezdor, Bane and Chambles. Chambles is a scapeability in that impromptu and nature of making something happen out then there. I'm very eager to see. There's not really much else to say that you guys haven't spoken about. I don't think I can make a pick for this game. I think I can only lock in on the storylines because it's a phenomenal storyline matchup. You have Miami's cocaine white uniforms, all Mrs. Powder blue uniforms. You've got Ben Mintz trying to buy out half the stadium, Confederates versus Convics. You've got it all in this game and I cannot wait to see who ends up out of nowhere. 60 minutes away from a national championship. It's surreal to think about. There are truly three teams of Destiny right now. How's that for? No, I'm saying three. I'm not saying the Oregon's the team of Destiny. I kind of agree with that, I think. I think the other three are. But like for as much as I and anyone else has pushed back against the idea of an expanded playoff on the 12 teams and this and that, whatever. I'm not gonna grinch this. You could set aside and look and analyze and just thank the college football gods for serving up on a silver platter and incredible two semi final games with endless storylines. An endless pool of elite player talent to obsess over for terrific quarterbacks. Great head coaching storylines and that's it. matchups and this and that. I'm just excited to kick the ball off and play ball and I hope that there's not bad targeting calls or incompetent receive us that ruin this great, great week of ball. Brandon, sorry, can I, I read about to move on from the game. So I want to add one more. I have the best point. Yeah, but you go ahead. Then you make, well, okay, then I just want to know actually my points are very good. And I feel so I also have a question for Brandon after. My point is so good that it doesn't matter what you say. Um, I was just going to say I spent my whole time like all of my time talking about Miami and how I think like on the field from a pure matchup standpoint, I think there's superior teams. They had a better defense. Like kind of the gap between their office and defense for both teams is kind of equal in terms of what the strength of weaknesses, but I think deep in twins of the stage, but I can't, I can't do a game. Preview that I'll talk about Trinidad Chambles. I mean, all season long, right? He is the chosen one, the prince that was promised, the man who in all misses darkest hour has come to their rescue, put them on island time. He continues to elevate. And at that position, the single most important position in all of American sports, no other sport has a position that is valued so highly. Uh, pitcher, but they don't play every night whatever. Uh, Chambles can make all of that logic that I tried to talk about and all like what I see as being the magic. He can throw that all out the window. I'm picking Miami, but I'm excited to watch Chambles. Logic reason, understanding of football, Bane and Mesodore, Mark Fletcher, Malachite Tony, the you. It all adds up to Miami looking like a team that's going to get back to the top of the mountain. What nobody is paying attention to is the fact that barstool sports is lazyest, most piece of shit, worthless sack of dog shit human being that I wouldn't trust to run a goddamn hot dog stand is somehow always standing at the end with the sun shining directly on his lazy. I'm never going to work again. As five years ago, I did so well in my first year of barstool sports, Dave said, life is going to strike again. I'm going to go to Mississippi, find a rival for this guy and it's going to be magic. And he hired the most cross side pathetic pieces shit I've ever seen in my life. And he has done nothing but win and get free shit since the beginning. So why God? Why God is it going to stop now? It's not. He wins. He wins. And I have no explanation for it. But if you think if you think the Miami hurricanes are enough to outweigh his piece of shit, no work ethic, lazy. I have an ass. You've got another thing come. Shout out, Minzy. This is and like Brandon, my question was going to be if you're going to bet with your college football brain, which you are very good at, the number one college football personality, you know, it's my am like from an X is an O standpoint, like you know, like if we took every Mississippi bone out of your body, Ben Winston exists and you were at like Fox, Warren at Barstle, you would take Miami and out of 10, but you can't. You just can't do it. And that's the Barstle difference. And I think I just did all that for a little bit of flair. But I think the actual thing that was happening, I think the actual thing that happened was six years ago, I got my big break and I got to Barstle sports and my life turned around. Thank you today, Port Norway and Big Cat and all that. My life got better and down somewhere in the depths of hell. Satan was looking up and he's like, Oh, he's he's got a good job. Huh? Yeah. Okay. He's got. He's got. He's got to get a better house. Okay. wife's got to get a nice car. All right. Well, guess what? I'm cooking up and here the fuck we are. This is and I we've been together. I have a lake in your backyard, Brandon. You know, you can't have a lake in your backyard and not several of the consequences. Yeah, I want to say you wouldn't have the lake and all the four Christmas trees that you have and your wife wouldn't carry the gorgeous bags that she does on the private plane without binments. You know, you think about that. Like these are things you have to give up without you having to put up with things. I will say that Ole Miss let again, binments is definitely a storyline, but somehow we've gotten through this entire segment talking about narratives without mentioning just even the biggest storyline that Ole Miss is dealing with and that's the coaching staff and Lane Kiffin and our can the coaches be at LSU versus coach Ole Miss. Like there's so much going on with this team that it does seem like there's like there's like we're going to look up and they're going to be playing for a national championship or going to be like and why did Lane leave again? Wasn't the whole thing you can't win one unless he goes to a brand name. That does play into this as well. That being said, let me play devil's advocate here. Ole Miss got to the playoff and they got to play two lane at home. Then they got to play Georgia in a glorified home game in the sugar bowl. Now, beating Georgia is no walk in the park. It's an incredible accomplishment. They are in the final four. But as we've seen with Alabama, with Oklahoma, with a lot of the SEC, maybe beating Georgia isn't what we thought beating Georgia was. Maybe Miami and this talent is going to be overwhelming. I don't know. I'm simply saying this as a part of devil's advocacy. If we've seen the SEC fall one by one by the wayside, every single team has fallen except for Ole Miss. Is that a possible storyline in this game? Yeah, absolutely. I also think Brandon, yeah, this year's Georgia team was kind of a culture win team, right? They didn't have any dominant element to them, but it's just so solid what they build there, the foundation. It is worth pointing out. I wanted to, in pursuit of thinking about the other game, I wanted to look up some S&P plus rankings. It's just Bill Connelly's analytics, right? You don't be overly worried about what it is. Ole Miss does have the second race ranked off into the entire country, and vice is still going to be called in place. Maybe I'm selling the overall offense a bit short because I do feel like it's so changeless dependent and it's not necessarily a dominant line. Like Miami is bringing to bear, but they're stuck in the country there. Defense ranks 18th. Miami, on the other hand, offense ranks 21st. Defense ranks 6. However, I think right now Miami's defense is playing like a top two unit in the entire country, if not one. When you look at the Lucie Sinus, like Lucie shout out the Note City Sinus, but you're right, T-Bob. You look at Ole Miss offense, yards per game number two, passing yards per game number four, points per game number nine. Like, this offense isn't getting fully the love like as high up as they are, but there's just something about Miami's front seven right now, especially the front four. Like, they are just absolute, like, just havoc wrecking. This is, say, offense sells tickets defense wins championships. I think it's a lot of two. And the ratings are fair. Like, Ole Miss has had, without a doubt, has one of the best offense in the country, but it is all relative to the defenses they've played and that I don't think they've seen one like this. And that's just playing like this. I mean, I'm being on the receiving end of it is brutal, but even just seeing the clips before, just the mentality that they're playing with right now. They're like, they don't want it as bad as we do all these things. They're like cliches, whatever. But I'm looking in their eyes and I'm like, they really do what they wanted more than we did. There's an intensity and a physicality they're playing with that just differ right now. I remember, I talked to a couple different people who went down to Miami praxis and they've also the same thing that Mario Christball runs the most physical practices that you will find in the modern era of football. And it's a tough thing to be that physical, but not over-tire the guys by this point this season. But I don't think Miami looks tired. I think they look pretty fucking forged in the fire of hitting every single day. Like I heard they're doing like old school, like big cat drill type shit, like just one on one, just like almost like Oklahoma type shit. Would you do not see at this level of football nowadays a lot? I will say if Thursday night ends with Mitzi on the sideline and Michael Irvin whipping his ass with a belt, that would make it, that would make it, that would make it all worth this. Can he score get a touchdown scored in his face in the corner of the end zone and then Michael Irvin whips him immediately afterwards? I don't think he's got the pull. I got to get on the field. No, I was about to say, I was about to say and by the way, Brandon, I know I said this that night too, but it only happens to you because I was right in the end zone when Marcel threw that interception against Miami and not anything happened to me. It's just you. God really does have something for you. Speaking of Mitzi going to the game, a game time. All right, I think if you ask the most observers of college football and listen, at Miami Ole Miss, one of them is going to play for a national title, one of them might win the national title. But I think if you were ranking, if you asked the majority of Americans to rank the teams one through four left, I believe one and two would probably be in the in the other game in the peach bowl. I feel like Indiana obviously is number one. I think the way Oregon has played ever since they lost Indiana probably puts them at number two. Only one of them can play for a national title. It is a rematch where Indiana went out to Alton Stadium and had to that point, its biggest win. Arguably in school history, you know, under certainly under cursing Eddie, it was his first, I think it was his first gigantic win. Last year he got to the playoffs but didn't really have any huge, huge wins. It was kind of, you know, they had a schedule to help them get there and then they lost Ohio State and Oregon this year. It was all leading up to that Oregon game and they passed it with flying colors. And now Oregon, that their only loss gets another chance at him. Big 10 guy, big F. This is a match up of two Titans. Yeah, now honestly, like it was because you said the right one and two thing. I don't know if I've totally agree with that. Maybe I'm not as high as Oregon as other people are. I really like Indiana in this spot. I just, I don't want to just completely relate all my points back to just one game that they played early this year. But I mean, it wasn't Austin. And if you remember that game, I mean, Indiana was the far more physical team. They spotted them, the pick six touchdown and still won that game by double digits. Like I really think they're just a, I think they're significantly better. I think they have better coach. I think they do have the better quarterback. I think they just have, I think they have a better defense. I think they, they both have very good offensive lines. But I do, I wouldn't even lean Indiana's. I really think like they're also just what Chris, they're like, even when you think about the Texas Tech game, like very sloppy Oregon in that game. Like that's a lot of points off the board. A lot of penalties, a lot of bad snaps. Fucking up drives. Like Indiana, I just trust Indiana more. Like I really think Indiana could win this game soundly. I really like Indiana here. I feel pretty confident in that. Interesting. T-bob. So I, it's, it's, what is interesting is that I think a lot of my thoughts mirror ads just with not such a large gap. Like you said, Indiana went on the road and handled that game top to bottom. I have seen nothing from Indiana and nothing from Oregon that should make me feel like that much has changed in the interim. Like Oregon's gone better, but guess what? So is Indiana. Like Indiana's just continue to play better and better and better. And it's, it's, it's that quote that I've talked about a couple times when Dan Carlton, some of the Japanese, he says they're like everyone else, only more so. Indiana's just like Oregon, only more so. Like they're, they're, they're both the most complete teams in the field. They both execute at the highest level. However, Oregon just slightly better. As I've said, slightly crisper. And that's what I actually wanted to go look at when I was gonna ask to be plus or there. It's like, oh, yeah, well, it's two of their rank. Sure enough, offensively, Indiana's third. They're second defensively. Oregon, seventh offensively, third defensively. Indiana's 33 other teams, Oregon's 20 maybe sapping tin. If it is a close game, that might be an advantage for Oregon potentially. But, but yeah, no, I again, I kept trying to figure out like what's the angle, but they're both so solid. They both don't have any apparent weaknesses and in that first match of Indiana just appeared to be better. I think both teams have gotten better. So I think everything's just kind of held serve. And so I got Indiana winning again, because why would I bail on Indiana as well at this point when all they've done is pass every single test has been thrown their way. Casey thoughts? Well, I agree with everything they said, but the only thing, the only reason that gives me a little bit of pause is it is, and I know it's a cliche in all of sports, but it is really hard to beat a team like that twice. And I, you know, I learned my lesson too with the Georgia Ole Miss game, where, and I understand these are two completely different teams, but there is something with that. And you look at Ohio State Oregon last year, and I know these are different teams, but it is very difficult to do that, especially when you have an Oregon team that is very good on both sides of the ball. You have a coach like Dan Laning, who hasn't completely gotten over the hump, but he's gotten Oregon there pretty quickly. That's the only reason that it gives me pause to say, I think that this is all Indiana, but I'm very much on record. And I have been since like week five or week six that I just think this Indiana team is so good, they're an absolute wagon. I love Fernando Mendoza, and you want to talk about a team that has just absolutely no weaknesses. I do think that it is Indiana, but I can't say that it wits without a doubt, like going to be as easy as it was for them seemingly the first time they play. I think it's going to be a lot closer. I'm going to take Indiana, but it does give me a little bit of worry that Oregon does have a better shot because they lost them earlier this evening. I'll say this. I do think what you just said is correct. If you want to point out a team with no weaknesses, it's Indiana this year. But if I'm trying to find a weakness on Oregon, I got to use a pretty pretty good magnifying glass like I got a yeah, I'm not tougher than anybody else, but yes I got a really dig in if I'm finding a weakness on Oregon. No, so Indiana, Oregon is the better football game in my opinion. We've already seen them play. We know that they're the two heavyweights. I think that whoever wins that game and I think it's going to be Indiana is probably going to win the national title. But from a pure college football standpoint and from all the stories and what makes college football different and that Fernando Mendoza is also in that. Don't get me wrong. But what's going on with Ole Miss in Miami and the lane stuff and Pete Golding and these players are deciding to stay in Oxford. I think that if Ole Miss, they would have never lost a two lane. But let's say they had to play Miami the first round. I think that these players might have ended up in Baton Rouge. But now they've made it far enough. And they're like, hey, we're going to stay here. We're building this. I truly believe that if they would have lost in round one, that there would have been a mass exodus of a lot of those guys to Baton Rouge. Now they're sitting there like, oh my God, we can be playing for a national title. That is what makes college football so much better than the NFL and everything else.
