COHOST HOLIDAY SPECIAL

This episode of Quest Radio is a casual Christmas special hosted by Aitana, with Elena returning as the guest. The two university students, both studying Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary, spend the episode catching up on their first semester. They joke about Kenza's absence, discuss their mixed feelings about their degree, and criticize the confusing teaching style of their politics lecturers. Elena says she loves International Relations but dislikes political theory. A significant portion of the conversation focuses on a fellow student they describe as racist, recounting how she defended Charlie Kirk, made anti-Palestinian comments, and supported far-right figures despite being an international student herself. They also discuss the trad wife movement, arguing that while choosing to be a stay-at-home mother is valid, influencers promoting it as an ideal can mislead young women who cannot afford that lifestyle. Other topics include Trump's election, his controversial statements about Somalia and Colombia, the Diddy documentary, and whether money can buy happiness. They reference The Good Place to argue that unlimited wealth removes purpose. The episode ends with lighter talk about music, accents, driving, future travel plans, and gratitude for their friendships.

0:00 Speaker 1 What's up? Quest Radio today. It is just a solo episode of me with a very special, special, special guest. Elena. Yeah, Yeah. Favorite guest this return. 0:17 Yeah. She really wanted me. So she was like, oh, I just need to see you again. Oh, let me come on your podcast. I didn't say all that. I was like, why not? But Elena's. How do you feel about being second guest of the show? 0:32 Speaker 2 I'm so excited. 0:33 Speaker 1 The second time. 0:34 Speaker 2 I'm mourning Kenza's. 0:36 Speaker 1 Oh yeah. 0:37 Speaker 2 Presents. 0:37 Speaker 1 Oh yeah, this is your Co host Aitana. Sorry I forgot to present myself, introduce myself. But yeah, Kenza has decided to leave the podcast. 0:48 Speaker 2 She's taking over. 0:49 Speaker 1 Yes. So we might say that this is cancelled. I don't know, but yeah, so it's such a weird episode not having Kenzo, but no guys, just kidding. Gee, it's back home to Brahm. 1:06 Shout out AG Massive, of course, just. 1:09 Speaker 2 Shout out to Brahm. 1:11 Speaker 1 Then just shout out to AG Massive and that's it. Can just listen to this live as we speak. 1:20 Speaker 2 We love you, Kendall. 1:21 Speaker 1 We. 1:21 Speaker 2 And we miss you. Oh OK, Maybe I just do. 1:24 Speaker 1 OK, so today is a really random episode because we are literally have nothing planned. It's just like a Christmas special because it's the last week before the holidays. So I thought it would be really nice for us to just, it doesn't have to be focused on politics, just a little catch up of the first semester in uni. 1:45 We both just started uni, first semester is done doing politics and IR. How has it been for you? It's. 1:57 Speaker 2 Been. 1:57 Speaker 1 Great, right? Tell us, tell us about your experience. We it doesn't. We could. We could talk poop. 2:05 Speaker 2 Oh, we can't because everybody listened to me. OK, We can't. We can't The same characters on this show. It was OK. I do complain that I hate my degree every 5 minutes but. 2:17 Speaker 1 Why do you hate your degree? 2:18 Speaker 2 I just hate the politics like the theory I love IR, IR is my goat. Like I would actually glaze international relations every day of my life. 2:25 Speaker 1 OK, so knowing that this podcast is about politics, tell me why you hate politics. 2:31 Speaker 2 But I hate the theories and that one lecture that we have on a Monday. Like guys, guys. 2:37 Speaker 1 No disrespect, No disrespect. 2:38 Speaker 2 We love him. Great guy. Well, well, we don't know that. 2:41 Speaker 1 Well, I just had him as a symmetry and he wasn't best but. 2:46 Speaker 2 Oh, that? Well, you're talking about that one. Yeah, 110. 2:50 Speaker 1 Oh. 2:51 Speaker 2 I just hate theory. 2:52 Speaker 1 Basically, I just, we would just wish that the politics teachers, lecturers in this university would be a bit more clear. That is all I'm saying. 3:02 Speaker 2 It's like speaking in a constant Riddle. 3:04 Speaker 1 Yeah, that, that's exactly how I feel. Like every time I think I understand something they're like no. 3:09 Speaker 2 They're like, not quite, yeah. 3:11 Speaker 1 You could absolutely run. 3:12 Speaker 2 Yeah, and I remember in one of our lectures she's like, OK, you need to write things detailed. So she gives the clear sentence and then the detailed version was just the same thing with more words. I was like, is this why all the readings are so confusing? Yeah, because uni has you literally writing random words in just to make the sentence more detailed. 3:27 Speaker 1 So apart from that little confusion about politics, what else? How has your experience been in uni? 3:34 Speaker 2 It's been great. I've loved it. I've made so many friends. Yeah, my #besties that opposite me. Itana. Yeah, my good at Kenza. Shout out, shout out to Kenza. We still miss her very much, but I don't know about Itana. 3:47 Speaker 1 Because I'm going to try face that, but in a bit as you was. 3:51 Speaker 2 Going to make a special appearance. 3:52 Speaker 1 On the podcast. But it's been fun. Definitely a good experience. How about you, Itana? Well, yeah, it is much better than six one guys. Oh, definitely. But I feel like nothing can beat me at 12 you told was really good. I hate it in my opinion. 4:08 Speaker 2 I hate it all of secondary. 4:09 Speaker 1 School, but this has been better than sixth form. I'm really happy with the new people we have surrounded ourselves with. 4:15 Speaker 2 Where's my shout out? 4:16 Speaker 1 Shout out to Elena. Yay, the girl. You know, at first I thought I was gonna hate you. 4:21 Speaker 2 Me too. I thought, I just wanna hate me because she was really close to Kenza. And like the first time we all met our group of four, like she was very, very close to Kenza. And I was just kind of thinking like, this girl's like not talking to me at all. She's not showing me. She was just really awkward. 4:36 Speaker 1 You, you have to know this like the first day, like freshest week, first day I ever met Elena, she was already with another girl. And they just seem really close. And I was like, oh, because I thought you were similar to that person. 4:50 Speaker 2 Yeah, like I thought that's why I was like, oh, like I'm I'm like, what? She thinks I'm just besties with this one guy. I don't want to be friends with anyone else. And I was like. 4:57 Speaker 1 No, yeah, that's why I was like and yeah, so I was like, oh, but then we ended up being the exact same so. 5:03 Speaker 2 We're literally the same person and I was like, you know what, like let me make it because I thought I first hand Kendall were a bit of a duo, which they kind of oh, they leave me out all the time. Guys, I cry all the time at home because I get left. But no, I thought that like it was a duo thing. So I was like, oh, maybe we're not going to be like besties with these girls and like, look where we are now. 5:20 Speaker 1 Look where we. 5:21 Speaker 2 Are it's so weird to think about the first day because we all met through tick tock comments. 5:25 Speaker 1 Oh yeah, guys. Oh my God. 5:27 Speaker 2 Please, we had a little group chat, like we had a little hangout, but first time we met was us linking up on freshers week when I told you it was the like most awkward experience of my life because we're just pretending to all obviously on freshers week, the people you meet aren't aren't going to be your best friends forever. So I was like, yeah, damn, like. 5:42 Speaker 1 That's what I thought and I was like, and I was really scared because I was like, I'm having so much fun with these people, but yeah, not. 5:46 Speaker 2 In a weird way, but like generally, there's so many people I haven't spoken to since Freshers week because yeah, one time and ever again. Exactly. But we've we've maintained a bond. 5:54 Speaker 1 Kinzer just said thank you for being a live listener. She just said you lot sound like someone hot boxed the room with farts. What do you have to say about that? 6:06 Speaker 2 Kenza needs to actually. I'm going to stop glazing her now because yeah. 6:10 Speaker 1 She's hating. Chill with the glaze. Chill with the glaze. Yeah, the sometimes I'm happy Kenza's not here, but OK. This is such a random episode. 6:21 Speaker 2 Because we actually. 6:22 Speaker 1 Have nothing to talk about. Shall we talk? OK, Shall we be a bit more like drama or shall we just move on? 6:28 Speaker 2 I don't mind it's. 6:30 Speaker 1 One of guys, today's going to be just us. 6:33 Speaker 2 Talking nonsense? Yeah, you can swear. 6:35 Speaker 1 Yeah, we kind of. I'm just, it's for my religion. 6:37 Speaker 2 She's just so, yeah, she's just. 6:40 Speaker 1 So, OK, so let's just say like random story times of this year. 6:44 Speaker 2 Can we talk about the the racist? 6:46 Speaker 1 Girl, oh guys. No names, no names stated but basically this is going of course that before uni even started she was in another country mind you and I thought me and her were going to be quite close. 6:59 Speaker 2 Because I was messaging girl in the back. 7:01 Speaker 1 Because she was really funny, she was cool, she was quirky, whatever. And then the infamous, our first ever episode that we talked about Charlie Keg happened. Charlie Keg man died. 7:17 And that day in September was a really, really you just had to be told everyone, you just had to be there, that you couldn't see a single bad thing or you would get doxed, that you would get killed. So I posted, I reposted something. 7:32 It was it wasn't even bad. It was him just speaking, saying that he wanted public executions first with people and televised and. 7:43 Speaker 2 What did he get? 7:44 Speaker 1 He got that. So that's just what I posted. And I also posted that he there was a speech he made where it was him saying that that one. Which one is it? Second Amendment. 7:56 Speaker 2 He was like, the Second Amendment right is worth it if a few people die. Yeah. And. 7:59 Speaker 1 Then it's worth it. Get off my word. 8:03 Speaker 2 Please but anyways, I was also messaging at this point me and Itan I hadn't met and I was messaging the girl on the back as well. I thought I was going to be really good friends with that. I don't think I saw this story so I've I was blocked from seeing it because I'm chronicling online. Oh. 8:13 Speaker 1 Yeah, no, no, I posted it and she replied to mine. This is so much law. She replied to mine saying not everything has to be. Oh, I posted one that said sorry my, but I keep saying things. Post the one that said that what happened to him happens to a lot of children in Palestine, that they are being killed. 8:30 Yeah, we both posted it and she replied to it saying and not everything has to be about Palestine. And I'm like, I felt I was like, OK, maybe she's just not into Palestine. Like OK, still bad thing to do, but I was like, I don't. 8:42 Speaker 2 Think she was that passionate about. 8:43 Speaker 1 And then she goes, yeah, there's no need to be disrespecting him. He didn't do anything wrong. He was teaching the. 8:51 Speaker 2 Youth and like every man should become like him or something. Yeah, like he did good. 8:55 Speaker 1 And I was like, and then me and her started having this debate where she was saying like, well, Israel isn't doing anything wrong. I don't know how we moved on from Charlie cock to like Israel. Like, yeah, I know I posted something about Palestine, but it was something that's still related like this. They both died like, but she was like, yeah, Palestinians are the evil ones because she said like, they deserved it. 9:16 Oh, the children. What is it? They celebrate 911, apparently. 9:19 Speaker 2 That was so stupid. She. 9:20 Speaker 1 Said that they I knew I lived in New York. Celebrate 9 I knew. 9:24 Speaker 2 Exactly what TikTok she saw as well. Because that TikTok was on my 4 year page and I was like you can't be this stupid. Like, yeah, even then those are the Palestinians in New York. Even if they were celebrating like the. 9:33 Speaker 1 One that's still bad. 9:34 Speaker 2 Yeah, but she like got proper into it and then on the first day where we met. 9:39 Speaker 1 No, but she also like really likes Trump. Like she. 9:43 Speaker 2 Follows like Nigel Farage, Trump, all of them. And on the first day she messaged me saying, hey, do you want to meet up? And this was the first day that I met up with Aitana and the rest of the girl and Kendra and stuff. 9:52 Speaker 1 I think that's what kind of bonded us. Do you remember when I like whispered in your? 9:55 Speaker 2 Ear and I kept getting told about this racist girl on our course but I had no idea it was the girl I was about to so I'm like Oh my God hey and then I turned her just this look on her face I was like I know there's some law behind this so I turned to her I'm like what's the thing she's like that's the racist 1 and I felt so awkward we just tried to ignore her as much as possible and. 10:14 Speaker 1 I think once she saw me, she realized I kind of told you guys, yeah. 10:18 Speaker 2 Because she was. I think I got blocked from seeing that story because I am anyone who knows me as my screen time is literally 17 plus hours. I'm the most chronically online job ever. Exactly willingly though and I'm so jobless I view every story so I think she knew because I always post about stuff on my story like activism stuff. 10:33 So whatever happened happened. I unfollowed her on Instagram. How could she unfollow me on TikTok and I didn't even get the chance to unfollow her? 10:41 Speaker 1 And guys, her TikTok reposts are the funniest. 10:45 Speaker 2 Is what I was going to get into weirdest things She posts like Netanyahu edits like she. No, no. 10:52 Speaker 1 You can't do that. 10:53 Speaker 2 And she, like, reposts something about how like, oh, Mohammed's the most popular name in the world. We need to change that. 10:58 Speaker 1 Oh, it's so stupid. She requested she reported she's she's into like the trad wife stuff, which is that if that's your thing, go you like you can just be a stay at home mom do. 11:08 Speaker 2 That without being like. 11:09 Speaker 1 But you don't have to be like, this is what everyone has to do, Like, no. 11:13 Speaker 2 She reposted something about like if it's if it's called being far right for not wanting young girls to get like sexually assaulted by immigrants then call me far right. I was like aren't you an immigrant? She complaints about immigration a lot, but she is technically she's on a student. 11:28 Speaker 1 Visa. Yeah, like maybe she's not an immigrant, but like, you're still a foreigner. 11:31 Speaker 2 She isn't she counts as an immigrant, does she? She's just like, yeah, student visa qualifies using. 11:36 Speaker 1 It so it's like you can't really. 11:37 Speaker 2 And her visa was didn't work for four days. She's technically illegal if we're being honest, but I just want to. 11:44 Speaker 1 She can't even vote for reform and she follows them like. 11:46 Speaker 2 Fine, if you're in your own country, like I still don't agree with your views, but go ahead, spread them all you want. Like it's yeah, whatever. But like, you're literally in a country where you are the same as these people. You're still viewed as foreign. You're not viewed as a yeah like. 11:58 Speaker 1 Like, yeah, you're why it was like. 12:00 Speaker 2 A proper British accent. Yeah, she's got a very good accent. 12:02 Speaker 1 Because she she does have money, but it's like that doesn't take away there. You're not British. Like what? But still talking about that, what do you think about the Tred wife movement like? 12:13 Speaker 2 I here's the thing, like, I get the having the choice to do it, yeah, but I just like every single one I've seen so far just pushes it on everyone. Yeah. And it's like just rooted in like a lot of racism. 12:25 Speaker 1 Like, because it's going to be really funny, but I started watching The Secret Life. 12:31 Speaker 2 Oh my. 12:31 Speaker 1 God, we need to go into The Secret Life of The Secret Life of woman wives and obviously they come from a very. 12:38 Speaker 2 They're meant to be. 12:40 Speaker 1 Yeah, they're meant to be child wife. Some of them like talk. They have a lot of children like I I only just started it and like but they're always pregnant. 12:47 Speaker 2 They're always and there's no gaps. And one of them got pregnant at 16. Like yeah, it is a lot. 12:51 Speaker 1 It is a lot of things. So like now with like influences like Narrow Smith mum talk, like they talk about in this show, what do you think the effect of having, because this is kind of political idea. It's like, what do you think the effect of having these type of influences that teach little girls? 13:07 Like, yeah, little girls are seeing Emmy make my husband meatballs from scratch and I grab his balls and put them in the oven. Like what do you think the effect? 13:18 Speaker 2 Of that, I think it's so dam like the concept of being a triad wife I don't think is very damaging. I think if you're well, maybe not triad wife, I'd say like stay at home. Yeah, one of them ones. 13:27 Speaker 1 Because it's still a job. 13:28 Speaker 2 Yeah, Yeah. I don't think that that's very damaging. I think having the choice to do that is great, but it's specifically with the TikTok ones that push it, especially because they're from Utah, aren't they? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's like, you know, like they are raging like Republicans a lot of the time. And they have like, very allegedly crazy views and stuff. 13:45 So it's just, I think it's especially Mormonism is very rooted in racism, like a lot of what they say. 13:51 Speaker 1 And it's really, I mean, I think Nara Smith has talked about it, that the fact like she doesn't know where she stands with her faith, but it's like. 13:56 Speaker 2 She's a moment as. 13:57 Speaker 1 Well, you are a moment. At the end of the day, you have said that just because you don't wear the garments or whatever, you still you're still endorsing a faith that until like a few like what like decades until a few decades ago, it literally saw your people as inferior and not deserving of going into heaven or something. 14:15 So I do think it's a bit weird. Like they do push it a bit too much. Like if you want to be a stay at home mom, obviously I don't see anything bad with that. Like a lot of our parents wear stay at home like parents the way they just cooked for us or cleaned or just stayed because they had no other choice. Like we have to remember that there's people that have to be it because they have no other choice. 14:35 So let's not push it to the point that people just see it as desirable when if it's desirable for you, good for you, but it doesn't. Also you can still be independent and still stay at home. Exactly. Also like. 14:45 Speaker 2 It's important to acknowledge that not to we're saying don't make them force it. So I'm, I'm not forcing it on others, but like to know like that people before you couldn't have education, couldn't like, one of my biggest inspirations in like actually going to uni and like trying to get a degree and make something of my life is knowing the sacrifices you take from the people before us, especially as women. 15:06 Like, first of all, just like ethnic minorities in general, but as women who are like daughters of like immigrant parents. It's so important to not, you know, like, be stupid and like, skip school and do stupidity. Yeah. Because at the end of the day, like, they like the sacrifices. 15:21 Like when you actually think about, like, they literally came to a completely different country for you. But my mum was like 13 and I was like dad did. 15:27 Speaker 1 Your mum go uni? No, mine didn't either. 15:30 Speaker 2 My mum came when she was 13. She survived until the end of secondary school, and then she dropped out because she didn't know English. My dad came when he was 24, So my dad was old. Yeah. So he had done like a in certain countries, you know, he can do like a two year degree, like a associate's degree or something like that. Yeah, he did that in like from train mechanics. 15:48 But like coming here like he just works a simple like he doesn't work one of them like big fancy jobs, even does my mom. But then they like that sacrifice is so. 15:56 Speaker 1 Insane exactly we have to do it for those that couldn't like exactly I like it's just so silly to think like if that's what you truly want, as I said again like you can do it because that can be the path you want for your life. If that's what you desire, then yes, but also let's not put it into a category that you have. 16:13 You just have to stay at home, I. 16:14 Speaker 2 Feel like you can do both like for me I want to work for a couple of years but I feel like once I have my first child which I will not have very young but once I have my. 16:22 Speaker 1 First child just exploded I feel like. 16:24 Speaker 2 That came from us. When I once I have my first child, I would like to obviously not really have to work or something, but that's also a privilege. You need to acknowledge that. Like, yeah, they're. 16:32 Speaker 1 Pushing, then you can just. 16:34 Speaker 2 They're pushing this thing of like stay at home life, but a lot of you people can't afford to do that. But they're going to do it because they see it in the media and you know how easily influenced the world is nowadays. You're just going to be like, oh, I can do it because Nora Smith did it. And it's like, but you don't have the finances. 16:46 Speaker 1 It's like you have two young children, you need to work or they're going to starve today. It's like, especially now in the US, like they don't give benefits like that anymore. Like, it's scary. Yeah, that is really scary. Like, you just have to work. And it's not just about, like, working just a bit. You have to have like as a woman, as a single woman in America, you have to have like probably like 2 jobs or more in order to like maintain your kids alive. 17:07 Speaker 2 Yeah, also, I know like the UK is scary, but like, did you see what Trump said about the Somalis? 17:14 Speaker 1 I mean. 17:15 Speaker 2 Like, like, I just couldn't imagine. Like, we literally cancelled Boris Schultz for having a party during COVID. Yeah, I couldn't imagine. Just a point. Yeah. I couldn't imagine if Keir Starmer came up there and said Somali people are. Yeah. Like, I don't think this country and the way it's going, I don't think they would have cared too, too much either. 17:33 Yeah, they would have done a lot more like. 17:34 Speaker 1 They cancelled Matt Hancock. Yeah, he had a he had unfair, but it wasn't like a lot of like normal people have affairs and like obviously I don't think it would have been as bad. Obviously it was COVID and stuff but and if they cancel Matt Hancock for that, why can't we cancel an alleged pedophile? 17:51 Speaker 2 Yeah, exactly. And to just be able to so publicly, like, cool, a whole ethnicity of people. 17:57 Speaker 1 And he wants to. He's, he said he's going to invade Colombia. Oh, he has beef with the Colombian president, like proper beef. Oh, my God. It's because right now I don't know what they're doing in Venezuela or something, but they're like that like, Oh my God, what do they keep dropping? 18:13 Yeah, they keep, like, talking about, like, taking Venezuela and like, basically colonizing it. So it's a bit scary. Oh. 18:20 Speaker 2 He just has a like I remember when he said he wanted to build condos in Israel and then he used like AI. 18:25 Speaker 1 Oh yeah, to be like, this is what Palestine should be and. 18:29 Speaker 2 I was just like, I just can't imagine that. 18:33 Speaker 1 Like Oh my God, what are they dropping? 18:34 Speaker 2 It sounds like bombs up in here, but I just couldn't imagine having a president and then people still voted him in. Yeah. Like, I remember the night before, like, I I was going to bed on election night, and he was winning. And I was just like, oh, please, let me wake up. 18:50 And it'll be a different result. Like, yeah, please. And then we woke up and it was actually horror. So that was fun. Yeah. 18:58 Speaker 1 Should we? OK, who's your favorite character on Secret Lives? 19:03 Speaker 2 Oh, wait, but you're not on season 2, so you don't understand. But I really like Whitney, like once you get to season. 19:09 Speaker 1 Two, I promise. 19:10 Speaker 2 Hang in there, Season 2 is so good once you get to season 2. And like, I was watching Dancing with the Stars. And by the way, if anyone watches Dancing with the Stars, I'm so angry that Alex Earl didn't win. I don't even like her, but I'm really angry she didn't. 19:20 Speaker 1 Win Oh yeah, probably she was really good she. 19:22 Speaker 2 Was so good and then Robert Irwin won, but I also like him so it's OK. 19:26 Speaker 1 I don't like Whitney. Guys, I really hope you've watched this. 19:29 Speaker 2 Season 1 portrays this. I hated her in season 1 as well. She but she's not evil. 19:33 Speaker 1 No, I hate it. She doesn't care about anything. She's like, I would do it again. I'm doing. 19:36 Speaker 2 It again, I'm so excited for you to get to Season 2 because you're going to understand the fruity pebbles reference they keep referencing. Oh, I really know. He like when you watch it like and they like talk about what actually like it was actually insane. 19:47 Speaker 1 He pissed, she pissed on him. Didn't. 19:49 Speaker 2 He yeah or he pissed on no one of. 19:51 Speaker 1 Them I thought because in season 1 she. 19:53 Speaker 2 Used to drink his piss. 19:54 Speaker 1 What? Yeah, guys, what are we on about? 19:58 Speaker 2 These can't be real Mormons. Like they're not. They're very thing like they're very. 20:01 Speaker 1 Not they all drink like obviously it's just it's funny how they call it the secret lives and woman wise. 20:08 Speaker 2 But then, nothing's a secret, and they're not. 20:10 Speaker 1 Nothing secret. They're not like they say it themselves like. 20:13 Speaker 2 The on secret lives. 20:14 Speaker 1 Yeah, honestly, honestly, they do ketamine therapy. Would you do ketamine therapy with me? 20:22 Speaker 2 No. Would you soak? 20:25 Speaker 1 No, I mean for you I have a real 1 so I would lucky move your bed. Loki. Loki. Loki. 20:29 Speaker 2 If you don't know what a soaking is, it's how the Mormons have sex. 20:32 Speaker 1 Yeah, how they have sex before marriage it's. 20:34 Speaker 2 Basically, the loophole is that if you're not technically. 20:38 Speaker 1 Moving. It's like thrusting if you're not, thrusting in the woman if you're not. 20:42 Speaker 2 Thrusting then technically you haven't had sex, so you get, they get a friend to go onto the bed and shake them again. So you move like without you thinking and it's absolutely psychosis. You know what I was thinking of when you brought Nora Smith up earlier? Which one of us would be lucky, and which one of us would be Nara? 20:57 Speaker 1 No, I want to be. I know you know how lucky like has the little toothpick and like slaps Nora's. 21:04 Speaker 2 Out Cowboy. 21:05 Speaker 1 That'd be me. That would be me. 21:08 Speaker 2 So I'm the one birthday of these stupid children who are called like Rumble Honey Smith. 21:11 Speaker 1 No Slim. Easy. 21:13 Speaker 2 Is my favorite one. 21:14 Speaker 1 That's so funny. Which one's the Eminem song that goes Slim Shady? Oh, with the real Slim Shady? Please stand up. Oh, you guys. 21:19 Speaker 2 Did that really Well, That's me. But like, imagine, because we're saying slim easy, but it just comes up slim. Hi, my name is slim. And what if he turns out to be fat? Isn't that a contradiction? Like when people name this was like Precious and they're the opposite of that. 21:31 Speaker 1 You can't say that we were talking. 21:32 Speaker 2 About that this morning about different names and different languages. 21:35 Speaker 1 Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We were talking about. But actually I don't know why we're talking about like different continents. And we started talking about African names like other. 21:43 Speaker 2 Because the ones, the ones that in like, for example, Nigerian names in Europe are really nice. But yeah, when you translate into English, it just sounds like God's favorite son, something like that. It's so interesting because I saw a TikTok. This is kind of, oh, look, we're getting political again. I saw a TikTok that was like this guy's name. 21:59 Oh, what was his name? I think it was like Toby, but he doesn't shorten it. Like his his official like a long name. He doesn't shorten it, which it's really bad to me not to remember because that's kind of the whole point of the thing. But like, because he works a corporate job, he doesn't shorten it. And he makes them say his whole name. And it was like, oh, no, it was a graduation video. 22:14 Nevermind. In graduation. They made him say his entire name and the lecturer, like the person couldn't say it. And the comments were like, isn't it so weird that white names have no meaning? Yeah, because when you think about it, like white names really don't have any meaning. Like they all used to come from just being like someone's son. 22:30 Speaker 1 Oh yeah, yeah, and. 22:32 Speaker 2 Like the surnames. Even my surname has the funniest story ever. And it's because they start our town name wrong. Everyone used to be named after their town, and my town was called Elma, which means Apple in Turkish Apple and they spelled it wrong so they spelled Alma. 22:45 Speaker 1 No. 22:46 Speaker 2 Yeah. So now on my passport it just says Alma, but I'm actually oh. 22:51 Speaker 1 My God. But yeah, names. I love names. What? OK. 22:55 Speaker 2 I love people's names. 22:57 Speaker 1 Would you like mine? 22:57 Speaker 2 I love your name so much. And you have such a good nickname as well. What? Tanner? Yeah, I love it. Your whole name is just really nice. Tina. 23:03 Speaker 1 Menino, what would you name your kids? 23:07 Speaker 2 Oh this is weird. Slim, easy, apple crumble. 23:12 Speaker 1 No, I would call it Flapjack. 23:15 Speaker 2 Because you can. 23:16 Speaker 1 Call him Jack. Oh, instead of instead of Jack, like you said, Jack. 23:23 Speaker 2 But me, OK, it really depends on my future husband because if my future husband is the same ethnicity as me, then I would want my child to have a Turkish name. But for boys, I'm very certain I really like the name Leo. Leo. 23:33 Speaker 1 I don't actually write for me. 23:35 Speaker 2 I know, but you can't even there's no Turkish to it either. Like, like there's certain Turkish names, English names that you can pronounce in a Turkish way, but Leo is not one of them. But that's only if I don't have a Turkish husband. If I have a Turkish husband, I have a whole list of Turkish names. 23:47 Speaker 1 Oh, you're going to look for it? I don't even know a Turkish. 23:51 Speaker 2 Like the problem with the guy names in first of all, I don't want to birth a Turkish man, but second of all, the problem with guy names in Turkish is that it's probably the name of every single guy you know in your life. And like, yeah, it's not fun. They all like Bait as well, like on Snapchat. And they all go by like different nicknames, like Ads. This guy named my child fucking Ali and he goes by ADS or A1. 24:07 Speaker 1 No. 24:09 Speaker 2 Please, I can't do that. At least the girls go by their names. 24:11 Speaker 1 Yeah. But yeah, I got this actually is going in no direction at all. 24:17 Speaker 2 We got a bit political, yeah. Can we talk about Diddy? 24:20 Speaker 1 Oh, she. 24:20 Speaker 2 Diddy, Diddy No. 24:22 Speaker 1 No, no, no. What a joke. 24:25 Speaker 2 Basically, 50 Cent released the documentary We've Everyone. Can we sing as 50 Cent men? We're there for Pong. Many men. Oh, OK. That's what happens in song. It's like the gunshots. 24:37 Speaker 1 Which one? What about the one that's like you're sure? 24:40 Speaker 2 It's your birthday. 24:42 Speaker 1 We go on party. 24:46 Speaker 2 Excited. They're not going to see us for like a month and a half. Oh yeah. 24:51 Speaker 1 If they see us, guys. 24:52 Speaker 2 I'm not coming back next to us, though. I saw you. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not officially on this podcast. I'm just yes. 24:59 Speaker 1 But she's just like, maybe the favorite guest. You're the only one that's come twice. Oh. 25:02 Speaker 2 My God, I'm going to come next semester as well. I really enjoyed this. It's great. Yeah. What's that talk about Diddy? Oh, yeah, $0.50 made a documentary and he's so funny. The whole press tour, he's been cheesing at the stuff that's happening. And we actually got confirmation that Diddy paid someone to kill Tupac, which everyone knew. 25:18 But like, they didn't know. The whole documentary says it's like 4-1 hour episodes. It's so long. But when I tell you like, and the juror. So basically they put the they got two of the jurors in the documentary from the case. One of them literally was that Cassie could have left. 25:33 And I was like, did you not see the way he was swinging her around on the floor of the hotel? Like which way she could have on the elevator? Yeah. And then when when Tupac and Biggie tried to obviously speak out against Diddy, he literally killed both of them. So like, well, he hired people. 25:45 Speaker 1 To kill both, yeah, that is. 25:46 Speaker 2 Scary. So I'm like. 25:46 Speaker 1 Allegedly. 25:48 Speaker 2 It's actually not alleged anymore, is it? $0.50 has proof of what's his name, Kefi D or something like that being like, did he paid? He's in prison right now, that guy who killed Tupac, and he's like, did he paid me to kill him that? 25:58 Speaker 1 Is scary. 25:59 Speaker 2 So you know what the confession means. I think he's getting tried for it next year. Anyways, he I forgot my point now. 26:08 Speaker 1 Right. Love me. 26:09 Speaker 2 He was something about Cassie but I don't remember. I said he's actually insane and the only reason he did it because he had no swag, no coolness to him. He copied everyone. And the reason he killed everyone else and like made everyone suffer was because he literally had nothing to his own. His ghostwriter was in the document I had to shoot. 26:25 Speaker 1 By the way, the racist student, she threw a Diddy pie. Oh. 26:29 Speaker 2 My God, shout out to France house. 26:31 Speaker 1 Shout out to France. 26:33 Speaker 2 But shout out to France House. They had a Diddy party. Yeah, it was all white, but you could have just called it all White Party because there is Michael Rubens all White Party every single year that all the celebrities but like that. 26:41 Speaker 1 Kind of because she's racist as well. Is like are there only white people allowed in? 26:44 Speaker 2 Not really, because. 26:46 Speaker 1 I mean, but like you could have that like undertone in. 26:49 Speaker 2 It yeah, it's true. It was just very weird. She's a very apparently like she always in her Commons like being very racist like I've heard from my friends in her Comm like she's always just saying some crazy shit. So honestly I feel for her. I haven't seen her since like week 5. Can we talk? 27:04 So one of our friends is Palestinian and and this girl didn't like know the girl she was talking to was a racist and like, well, she knew, but she didn't know her face basically. And one time in like on our way to the lecture hall, the girl went up to the Palestinian girl and was like, oh, hey, they're just talking, whatever. 27:24 And she's like, where are you from? She goes Palestine and the racist guy like raised her fist as like a yeah, like free Palestine. And she said free Palestine. I remember just thinking like she's rebranded herself. She's giving herself a nickname because everyone knows her the races like. 27:36 Speaker 1 Yeah, she changed her name to like a. 27:37 Speaker 2 Like shortened version? Yeah. 27:38 Speaker 1 It doesn't even it's not the she white washed. Yeah, she white washed it because the way because it's a Spanish name, the way you say in Spanish. It's nothing like the like the nickname. So you don't you truly know you and you don't want anyone to know you as who you truly are. But your repos are still being like, oh, I woke up happy today because I'm white, Republican and far right. 27:59 I'm Christian. 28:00 Speaker 2 You're literally. 28:00 Speaker 1 I was like, you're in my land by the way. The most diverse, diverse place ever. Full of ES Asians. My bad. Full of international students. 28:12 Speaker 2 She is an international. 28:13 Speaker 1 Student, you are an international. 28:14 Speaker 2 Student, you can say if you were like white and you lived in in England, I'd be like, you know what, believe what you want. Yeah, you just. I mean, you're not wrong because it's about like as in you yourself or white like believe. Yeah, she's literally an immigrant. She is on a student visa. Like she'll be gone in the next how many years? 28:31 What three years of our course like? 28:34 Speaker 1 Exactly like money can't buy anything, but money can't buy everything. Sorry. 28:38 Speaker 2 Exactly because she didn't. But sorry, I'm so sorry, she has to go to her seminars filled with ethnic minorities and she has to go to all her lectures and we, we have a whole module where we learn about East London and India and it's ethnicity, like ethnic makeup and like all the structural problems that ethnic minorities face. 28:54 Like it's literally so funny that she's going to have to write, she's going to have to sit a whole exam writing that these people face racism when she doesn't believe in it. 29:02 Speaker 1 That's a real one. OK, moving on. And that is so distracted right now. 29:09 Speaker 2 Mind you, you literally my bad guys. Mind you, you literally on your friend like 10 minutes. 29:15 Speaker 1 Guys, but I'm the like host. I need to like. 29:17 Speaker 2 You're the Co host. Don't get brave, Kansas. Still the host. 29:21 Speaker 1 But where's Kenza right now? 29:22 Speaker 2 Kenza is at home living her best life in Bromley, Brom. 29:25 Speaker 1 Brom, if you. 29:26 Speaker 2 Could be from anywhere. Would you want to be from? 29:28 Speaker 1 In the UK, Liverpool. 29:30 Speaker 2 I want to be a. 29:31 Speaker 1 Scouser. 29:32 Speaker 2 I want to be a. 29:33 Speaker 1 Scouser like yeah, chicken and a chemical. 29:35 Speaker 2 Oh, you're really good at that. I want to be from from Manchester as well. I don't know how to do that accent I want. 29:40 Speaker 1 Manchester, you would be from Bradford. 29:42 Speaker 2 Of course I don't want to be from Bradford. 29:44 Speaker 1 I was three cousin. I love how they say it. Cancer really says it. Well, rafire. I I I, I don't know, send it. That is three. That is three cousin, No. 29:52 Speaker 2 Because edit edit don't talk so funny. Are we going to be something at any point? 29:55 Speaker 1 Oh, go home right now. Let's cook and let's see if it works. Give me because my mark is Bell. 30:01 Speaker 2 Excuse me? 30:02 Speaker 1 Freak. You wait. 30:03 Speaker 2 Let me call. Let's see it. Because if she doesn't pick up. 30:06 Speaker 1 I'm going to be really upset if she doesn't pick up, but she's going to. 30:11 Speaker 2 I hope she picks. 30:12 Speaker 1 Up. Oh, you took a screenshot? I thought she picked up guys. 30:17 Speaker 2 OK this is rude because I should not pick it up. It shouldn't be indie. 30:19 Speaker 1 Oh, she is. Call her normal phone twice. 30:23 Speaker 2 I hate people who bang out DND guys. 30:25 Speaker 1 No one is messaging you that much for you to be in DND unless you're. 30:28 Speaker 2 Forwarded to voicemail how? 30:32 Speaker 1 Rude. And you know what's annoying? Unless you're like a teacher where you have to work or whatever, realistically, you don't. You don't. 30:40 Speaker 2 Literally like my sister has a DND teacher. Hi. Yeah. Talk. Say hi to the podcast. Hi, guys. You want to provide a bit more than that bro? I haven't slept yet. 30:55 Speaker 1 She's been awake. 1:00 PM. She's been awake playing freaking PS-5. 31:00 Speaker 2 Did you download your FIFA? Yeah, if I downloaded. 31:04 Speaker 1 What do you have to say to your podcast? I miss you. Hi guys, I'll be back next semester. 31:10 Speaker 2 Oh, is this coming back next semester? It's on the same day. 31:13 Speaker 1 Maybe we don't know yet. 31:16 Speaker 2 We don't know, drum roll. 31:19 Speaker 1 You guys need to be like. 31:20 Speaker 2 I told a lie. They said that you've left the podcast permanently, by the way. Oh yeah, I've left this one. 31:27 Speaker 1 Oh, she left this one guys, which? 31:28 Speaker 2 Is more fun on this. 31:29 Speaker 1 Team, what is going to happen? What is going to happen? Well, bye. 31:33 Speaker 2 Because you're not providing any entertainment. 31:35 Speaker 1 Say say bye, play talks. Say bye, play talks. 31:39 Speaker 2 Talks look this sweet. 31:41 Speaker 1 Voice she speaks to the most math. 31:43 Speaker 2 Yeah, she just puts that voice on when she's on video. I remember when I was blogging and she literally put that voice now like cancel you don't talk like. 31:49 Speaker 1 This in seminars especially, she's like, well. 31:52 Speaker 2 I'm sure irritated everyone has seminars with their friends but me I've had to make. 31:55 Speaker 1 Next semester I don't have anyone to worry. Guys, can we talk about my schedule next year? Mine is literally I don't have to come any day because I have lectures and we don't track attendance for lectures except for Thursday. Thursday I have back-to-back all of my seminars. 32:09 Speaker 2 Oh, I think I've got that on Thursday. I. 32:11 Speaker 1 Want to die? Sorry guys, not really. 32:14 Speaker 2 I think I have them on Tuesdays I've got and everything has a one hour break in between it which is so irritating because like either give me like a 5 hour break or give me nothing. But I'm glad they're not back-to-back to back-to-back. 32:26 Speaker 1 Back-to-back to back-to-back, what was your Spotify rapped? 32:30 Speaker 2 I used Apple Music because let me tell you guys a story about. 32:34 Speaker 1 How, oh wait, can we even talk about that if this is going to be posted on. 32:37 Speaker 2 Spot yes, they don't they don't listen to every podcast for an idiot No, but basically Spotify kept logging me out and I was paying £10.99 for premium every single month. So I was like can you guys solve this issue? They couldn't solve that. I kept getting logged out. I was like you know what before I can't log back in let me cancelled it so that nothing happens. 32:53 Then I just switched Apple Music and I never went back to Spotify. 32:56 Speaker 1 So what was your Apple replay? 32:59 Speaker 2 Every single month. This year my top artist was Drake, except for one month where it was Cat's Eye. Oh, so shout out to Cat's Eye. Who's your bias? Who's your? 33:07 Speaker 1 Bro I hate those freaking terms. Bro be English. My favorite 1 is. 33:14 Speaker 2 Bias is an English term. Yeah. I have a Daniela photo call. I'll give it to you for your birthday. Thank you. My favorite is Laura Yunchi Omeno. Sorry. Sorry to Megan. Megan is the only one that we didn't say. Yeah, it was all Drake. Sorry guys. I love Drake. That's my goat. 33:31 Speaker 1 Do you like any Kendrick songs? Nope. Do you actually know any? 33:34 Speaker 2 Not a single. 33:34 Speaker 1 One euphoria was good. 33:36 Speaker 2 And you're so funny. Shout out to actually don't shout out to Ezzy but his he was top 3000 artists for Kendrick and all his top songs except for one one was Drake. I was like every single Kendrick fan does have a Drake song. But yeah, I genuinely don't have a single Kendrick song I enjoy. 33:54 Speaker 1 Yeah, your forer is good me the. 33:56 Speaker 2 Grand the boy. He has your Drake. What's it called? 33:58 Speaker 1 Oh, first person shooter? No. 34:01 Speaker 2 No, that was J. Cole. And then you find it. 34:05 Speaker 1 Which one? The one that says is also really good. 34:08 Speaker 2 I like. 34:08 Speaker 1 This world with my I'm such a should be a singer guys, low key. 34:13 Speaker 2 It's called something. What is it called? Poetic Justice. It's a Drake and Kendrick song, and it's so good. But that's because it's got Drake on it, right? I'm very passionate about this, but it was very weird because my top artist, you have like Drake, Party Next Door, Gunner and you had some Turkish artists and I was like, thanks because I listened to like really old like grandma music in Turkey. 34:32 Speaker 1 Oh yeah, I feel like you're because, you know, this year they did like the age you are by the by the things you listen. I feel like yours would be like 70. 34:39 Speaker 2 Oh well, the rest of my music isn't. I'm like a gunner. 34:41 Speaker 1 No, no, no. You're like 70, OK. 34:45 Speaker 2 Are you into that low key? 34:46 Speaker 1 Are. 34:47 Speaker 2 We allowed to be like weird on here. 34:49 Speaker 1 Yeah. Can you listen to this OK? 34:52 Speaker 2 Everyone, everyone's gonna listen to it. 34:53 Speaker 1 Oh my God. Shout out to the energies. Shout out to the. 34:56 Speaker 2 Energies, thank you so much for listening. 34:58 Speaker 1 They're not gonna listen all this way. 35:00 Speaker 2 Oh no, the last time they listened to the Epstein one, all of it. I'm pretty sure they said it started out terrible when it picked up. So but a big F you to who'd want to say fuck you too Yusuf because he's a hater. He's the one that said the podcast starred outboard. 35:16 Speaker 1 Boo, we hate that. 35:17 Speaker 2 Boo. 35:19 Speaker 1 But yeah, guys, I mean, we have to keep in mind that this is like a little like relief episode because we're not really talking about any topic in particular. We're. 35:26 Speaker 2 Just having fun because me and I Tyler do this quite often when we just fall into random conversation topic changes every 5 seconds yeah this is kind of a look into the last two brain cells that. 35:35 Speaker 1 Remained between us. 35:36 Speaker 2 Yeah, because we're actually just not today. We're the only ones in uni of our friend group which is. 35:40 Speaker 1 Rude. Yeah. So, but yeah, guys, it's a Christmas special. So Christmas do you want for Christmas even though you don't celebrate? 35:52 Speaker 2 But The thing is I just buy myself what I want during the year, so when it comes. 35:56 Speaker 1 To Christmas the other day Brandon, But she was like, guys, I want to do a DNA test so she just bought the. 36:03 Speaker 2 Test because guys. 36:04 Speaker 1 From Ireland, I don't know today. Ireland, Ireland. Sorry, immigrant. 36:10 Speaker 2 But I spoiled myself throughout the year so I don't really do much on it. I don't have Christmas anyway but if I want to get Christmas gifts I don't think I could pick because I just buy it all through the year. But with my DNA test I'm very intrigued. If you guys don't know, I'm I'm technically 100% Turkish my. 36:22 Speaker 1 Parents, that's what it's going to say. 36:24 Speaker 2 No, my parents are from the same exact town. 36:26 Speaker 1 Exactly, they live 30. 36:28 Speaker 2 Minutes away from each other even though they met in England. But the problem is you, like you genetically cannot be 100% Turkish so because. 36:34 Speaker 1 The empire Ottomans. Shout out to the Ottomans Otttoman. But yeah, you can't. 36:40 Speaker 2 Be 100 like Turkish. I think I'm going to be Greek. I think I'm going to be like Syrian, Armenian, one of them once I'm excited, I'll give you guys the results when we come back next to us. The. 36:47 Speaker 1 Heck yeah, we're going to put it on Instagram. 36:50 Speaker 2 Results, unless it's DNA result I want just for fun, like a 0.2% of anything. I'm spiritually Jamaican. No I'm not. Where am I from again? Spiritually Sierra Leone, No Barbados. Barbados. I'm spiritually Asian so hopefully that comes up as like 0.1%. 37:07 Speaker 1 Freak, but she's a really random person. She spends money on everything. 37:12 Speaker 2 I have a shopping problem. I'm a shopaholic. 37:14 Speaker 1 Do you do like a dinner, like on Christmas? Because you know how everything's closed that day? Yeah, My. 37:19 Speaker 2 Auntie makes it because we're not like super religious. Certain parts, like certain members of my family, are very religious. 37:25 Speaker 1 Somewhere happy. Hello Miss. 37:27 Speaker 2 Happy hello miss because some of my aunties are like. 37:29 Speaker 1 Mashallah, Christmas. 37:30 Speaker 2 Some of my aunties kind of put everything on God, but I'm like, you're not really that. I don't know. Turks are very weird about religion, but my auntie always does. 37:36 Speaker 1 Yeah, a lot of people say Turkish people are. 37:37 Speaker 2 Fake Muslim? Yeah, they're not. But we we do it like a little Christmas dinner. She makes a chicken and a lamb, looks a little Turkish, so we like lamb. And then she has like roast potatoes and everything and it's so cute. 37:48 Speaker 1 Never kebab. 37:50 Speaker 2 Never give up, never kebab. 37:51 Speaker 1 It sounds like give up so I love seeing never kebab. Never kebab. I love kebab. Can you make me like a proper kebab? 37:57 Speaker 2 My mom makes Donna kebab at home. 37:59 Speaker 1 Yeah. 38:00 Speaker 2 It's a trend on TikTok, but my mom's been doing it for years. 38:03 Speaker 1 I cannot. 38:04 Speaker 2 Wait, what's the great thing about? 38:09 Speaker 1 Your life. A very weird thing about my life. 38:12 Speaker 2 Your favorite thing about your life? 38:13 Speaker 1 Oh, favorite at this? 38:14 Speaker 2 Moment What are you most grateful? Thanksgiving just passed or what Are you most grateful? 38:17 Speaker 1 For oh Thanksgiving, I am grateful for the people that surround me in my life. I am I feel like I feel like during six woman stuff it was a bit meh. But now I like I finally found people that aren't toxic and all my friends are genuine or every single relationship that I have right now is genuine and I'm really happy. 38:42 So I'm so thankful for my family, my friends and everyone in my life. What about you? 38:48 Speaker 2 I'm the same. I hated secondary school in sixth form, so I was just praying. I was like, Oh my God, I hope you is not the same. I hope you is not the same. I was even begging it in TikTok comment section being like when when they're like, who's going to Queen Mary? I would like I was like, I have to comment because I need to make friends. I can't be like friendless and like lame and then I. 39:05 Speaker 1 Was and she ended up being lame. 39:07 Speaker 2 OK well I was a bit scared because I was like I've always seen all these tik toks of like the people you meet on the first date are. 39:13 Speaker 1 Yeah, they're not your real friends. 39:15 Speaker 2 But I've enjoyed my friendships. They've been very, very nice. Everyone's been so sweet. I'm blessed to have so many, so many amazing friends. 39:22 Speaker 1 Oh, we should take a little time off the podcast too. Kind of like talk about the reputation Queen Mary has. 39:30 Speaker 2 Special tick tock. A bit more respect for Queen Mary Round. 39:32 Speaker 1 Low. 39:33 Speaker 2 Key. It's nothing. 39:34 Speaker 1 First of all, can we talk that it's a Russell Group? 39:36 Speaker 2 Yeah, guess all Queen Mary like. 39:38 Speaker 1 It's a Russell Group, and in some. 39:42 Speaker 2 Subject. It's really not in my in politics. It's like ranked 5th in the IS. 39:46 Speaker 1 Better than kings. So if you're if you're bum licking kings as well. 39:51 Speaker 2 Kings is levels below LSE and UCL, they try to put themselves in that. 39:55 Speaker 1 In the same Big three, you're not the Big three, but. 39:57 Speaker 2 Not in the Big Three. 39:58 Speaker 1 LSE and UCL they can trash. 40:00 Speaker 2 Talk for the Queen Mary is imperial. I was like, are you dumb? Yeah, I've been to Kings. I promise you, Kings is not all that Kings is. 40:06 Speaker 1 Literally Queens, but like in central London, Yeah. 40:09 Speaker 2 But The thing is, like, some of the stuff that does happen does happen, but it's such like a rare thing that obviously people are going to post it on TikTok because it's going to go viral. Yeah, yeah. But like I promise you, it happens like once, like this whole Love Island in the library. 40:21 Speaker 1 I've never seen that it's. 40:22 Speaker 2 Just a lot of talking. Occasionally a guy will move to a girl. 40:25 Speaker 1 Yeah, that's very normal. People say like on the lower ground of the library, every time I've gone there, there's people locking in. It's the most like, obviously there's going to be people speaking because it's a speaking area. Yes, discussion zone. And like, especially the first few weeks, you're meeting new people, you're going to talk. But to the the point that's like, oh, it's like Asian Love Island. 40:42 No, it's not. It's really. And there's a lot of internationals. 40:46 Speaker 2 So, so many yeah, I feel like I'm getting out dressed every time I people are just. 40:49 Speaker 1 Saying like it's just Bengali, like uni, it's not like and even if it was like, what's wrong with that? 40:58 Speaker 2 I thought I would love that. 40:59 Speaker 1 No. Heck no. 41:01 Speaker 2 I'm good. I like it. Here. I I have this fucking kunju video of me being like, I don't want to go to Queen Mary. 41:07 Speaker 1 It was third on my list. 41:08 Speaker 2 Because it was third on my list and I got rejected from two of the other ones. But I I really do like it here and I don't like no tea, no shade, but fuck anyone who chest you about it because I'm defending Queen Mary with my heart. I really. 41:20 Speaker 1 Enjoy it like I didn't go to other uni's because I didn't want to move out. So happy with my decision. 41:25 Speaker 2 I applied to all London unis except I want to do a year abroad so I don't know how or my brain decided that that was going to. 41:30 Speaker 1 Happen. Are you like, do you think you're independent? Not like, no. 41:33 Speaker 2 OK, lovely. Not in the slightest. 41:35 Speaker 1 I shouldn't have bummed like you a bit. I was like, I know you're independent. 41:37 Speaker 2 But no, no, no, I'm not independent. I rely a lot on my mom. 41:39 Speaker 1 So what are you going to do? 41:41 Speaker 2 Well, by then I think because my sister, my sister's not independent either and once she did her degree she had to move out for a year to go to Oxford. 41:49 Speaker 1 Oh. 41:49 Speaker 2 Sure, it makes me sound stupid because I'm at Queen Mary and she went to Kings and Oxford like and step it up. Yeah. But in that year, like you think she's sort of independent. And in the beginning she was, she was like calling my mom about everything. But towards the end, like even now when we're at home, even though my mom cooks everyone at dinner, like she still will be like, Oh no, I'm going to make my own 1 today. 42:05 Like she'll, she'll do things herself. I think next year I'll focus a lot more because my year board is not next year, but the year after. Yeah, I've had yeah, next year I'm going to focus a bit more on like learning to cook and clean and that sounds so spoilt of me, but like learning to do my laundry and stuff because I don't have to do any of that. The most I can do is Hoover the. 42:21 Speaker 1 House No because I'm seeing we have like two of our friends live in a well more of Eleanor's spot. Like in our group two of our friends live in a comms and it's so weird to think the other day I went grocery shopping with them to the big Sainsbury's. 42:34 Speaker 2 I went with my friend to buy rice and I was like, what do you mean that's what you do like? And in the she was like, We went to the little Sainsbury's. 42:40 Speaker 1 No, we walked. 42:41 Speaker 2 All the way to the big one. 42:43 Speaker 1 So she they were both had their baskets and they would probably like be like, I need to get chicken. I've never bought chicken in my life. I don't know how to cook chicken. 42:50 Speaker 2 Like, I don't have to phrase it normally, but they like have to like calculate the price of everything and make sure they're not spending right. This meal's going to be £2.49 exactly serving. I'm like damn. 43:00 Speaker 1 I've never done that in my life. No, I don't know any. 43:02 Speaker 2 Recipes. My mom just cooks it when putting it into it like exactly. I should leave it in the corner in Case No one's finished it so we can have it later. Like yeah, it's one of them where it's it's locally a privilege, but like it's insane. You know the way. 43:13 Speaker 1 They do, you know, the way they do like a little nice chicken like meal with like a little sauce. How do you make the sauce? I don't. 43:20 Speaker 2 Know they love. 43:21 Speaker 1 I love chicken. 43:22 Speaker 2 Though but but I can't like some of them. Want the best cooks. No offense to my friends, some of them are terrible cooks. 43:31 Speaker 1 I feel like I'd always be Uber eating, yeah. 43:34 Speaker 2 Same. I can't like even Burt, even at uni I eat out every somebody. So I'm, you know, I'm scared for my year board. But the good thing in America is they offer meal passes with like there's a cafeteria with a uni cook for you and you can like just get a meal and they're usually quite good meals. 43:51 So I'm expect. Are you excited for that? I'm kind of scared for my year board. I'm not going to lie. Why? Because I'm going to be by myself, not only in a different country, like completely different area. I'm going to have to make friends. I think everyone's going to love the accent. I'll probably overdo it. 44:07 You know what? I'm Yeah. 44:10 Speaker 1 That like really like your accent. When I was when I went in New York, I was like, can I get a bottle of water? I'm doing too much enough. 44:17 Speaker 2 When I'm around it works one way or the other. It's either I'm around people who talk completely different to me or people who talk just like me. But my my East London really comes out born and bred in East. 44:28 Speaker 1 She's from North, actually. 44:29 Speaker 2 No I'm not, I'm from Hackney. Is Hackney is the only London borough to have both N&E post codes? 44:35 Speaker 1 Exactly. And she's N. 44:37 Speaker 2 OK, don't be out as good as N Yeah, but if I walk 2 minutes E and I was like raised in east like all my schools and stuff. So my school was literally in East London. It was like the most we had to learn about it and I'm from. 44:48 Speaker 1 Oh yeah, we. 44:49 Speaker 2 Had to learn about my old secondary school but I'm like when I'm with my friends from East London. I overdo my accent a lot when I'm with people who don't speak anything like me, like all the international students and stuff. But I tell them like so go to. 45:01 Speaker 1 Them no and you're not our Kent friends or like the ones that like. 45:05 Speaker 2 Yeah. 45:06 Speaker 1 I kind of have to like speak in like proper like a posh accent. 45:09 Speaker 2 I feel like I can't speak the way I normally. 45:11 Speaker 1 Speak like because if I can't speak like, this is how I speak to them. 45:14 Speaker 2 Because I'm like. 45:15 Speaker 1 I have to be like, oh, that'd be rather lovely, wouldn't it? Yeah, I have to be like that. And kind of. 45:20 Speaker 2 Yeah. 45:20 Speaker 1 I hate that voice so much bro. I freaking hate Essex like that. Sorry, sorry. I really like, you know, Adele's accent. I like that one. 45:30 Speaker 2 Yeah, she's from Tottenham. 45:32 Speaker 1 Not like London. 45:33 Speaker 2 Yeah, she's from London, she's from Tottenham. 45:35 Speaker 1 Why does she have such a accent then? 45:37 Speaker 2 She can get proper like Tottenham if she wants to. Have you not seen her like she gets very Tottenham. She's like an Essex cockney babe type. 45:44 Speaker 1 Thing cockney I like, I love. 45:45 Speaker 2 The girl of my. 45:46 Speaker 1 Little Cockney I. 45:47 Speaker 2 Love when you know when I put my rollers in to do my hair I feel like like a chav. But one time I had to go to Lidl. My role is my. 45:54 Speaker 1 No, the sunrise. 45:54 Speaker 2 I cover my bonnet, so it was just. 45:56 Speaker 1 Really. That's so chubby. That's so chubby. 45:57 Speaker 2 But the hair turned out cute. 46:00 Speaker 1 Creek yeah, but yeah, we wanna, I wanna have a little scouter accent, like that'd be really cool. Scouts. Scouts, I want good chicken and the kind of cool. 46:09 Speaker 2 Parts of London, I can't like they're a parts of London. 46:11 Speaker 1 Of England, yeah. You know, I've never been. I've only been S I've never been. 46:15 Speaker 2 I've been to Brighton and that's it. 46:16 Speaker 1 I've been Brighton, I've been Eastbourne, I've been. 46:20 Speaker 2 I went to Oxford, but. 46:21 Speaker 1 That's, oh, I've been Cambridge. 46:23 Speaker 2 I went to Brighton, Oxford. Oh, let's start on a school trip. But we just went to the UNI. Controversial university. 46:28 Speaker 1 Yeah, I really want to go like Manchester, I was going to go there for uni but it's too far. I know. But I really I just you. 46:35 Speaker 2 Wouldn't have met me. 46:38 Speaker 1 I'm meant to, like, be happy about that somebody. I'm meant to be like, yay. But yeah, I'm like, should we do like a road trip one day? 46:48 Speaker 2 Oh yeah, I'm getting my license soon are. 46:51 Speaker 1 You going to get a car? 46:52 Speaker 2 I have a car, but I have a car We're going to have to fit in the Fiat 500. Yeah, it's my sister's because she got a new car. So I got passed out. So I need to hurry up and get my Have you done your theory? Nope but my plan is we have an exam January 8th guys so useless. 47:09 My plan is after January 8th I have to January 26th which is when we start uni. Maybe I should be airing this information now, but I'm going to practice the whole time. 47:16 Speaker 1 I mean, they know we've got Queen Mary. 47:17 Speaker 2 Yeah, I'm going to practice the whole time, my theory, and I'm going to sit here and then I'll do my lessons over time. I'm not too rushed to get my license. I want to get it. I don't want to be my auntie's. Like, no offense on my auntie. She's listening. 47:27 Speaker 1 She's not listening. 47:28 Speaker 2 She's like, she's like 38 and she doesn't have a license. I'm like, license. Not fun when you don't have a license. 47:33 Speaker 1 Even if you don't have a car, like it's just good to say like, yeah, I can drive. Like I'm not useless like my. 47:39 Speaker 2 Whole family drives like my dad, my sister, my mum. So I was like, I have to drive. I don't want to be sure, even though I'm willing to take the bus everywhere but. 47:46 Speaker 1 But something I really hate about freaking UK is everything's the opposite way if all. 47:52 Speaker 2 Whoever these bombs are going off in the freaking me buildings. 47:56 Speaker 1 PM me off. 47:57 Speaker 2 Maybe it's just the energy of cancer. 47:59 Speaker 1 No. Oh, cancer's lucky. Like haunting us. But yeah, you can. Everything's the opposite. Like the serum was on the opposite side. So if I go to Spain. 48:07 Speaker 2 It's so weird when I go to Turkey and everything's on the opposite. No, I feel weird here. You know, whenever. 48:11 Speaker 1 I get in a car, I have to like look at my hands and be like, OK, whatever way I'm going has to be the opposite. 48:17 Speaker 2 I went to my cousins live in Germany, and he picked us up from the airport. And I remember I literally walked to the driver's seat backs and we're sat in the driver's seat and I was like, wait, there's a wheel here? I meant to be in the passenger. Like, it's so weird. And then you get used to it. Then then you come back here and you're like, yeah, So what am I doing now? 48:33 Yeah, that's why. 48:34 Speaker 1 Just I don't know why we have to be so different here. 48:36 Speaker 2 Because we're usually similar to Europe in every other sense. Yeah, until it comes to this stupid. 48:40 Speaker 1 Driving and even like walking, like you meant like you take roundabouts the other way around. You always have to go on the left hand side instead of the right hand side. I feel like I'd get really confused if I ever want to move out to like, I don't know, I really want to go live in New York. 48:54 Speaker 2 Me too. 48:55 Speaker 1 It's like, that's like the London of the year. That's. 48:56 Speaker 2 My number one destination. 48:58 Speaker 1 And I like how ghetto it is. Yeah, I really. 49:00 Speaker 2 Like it? 49:01 Speaker 1 Yeah, I feel at home. 49:02 Speaker 2 That's what my number one destination. 49:04 Speaker 1 No, you're not. The other day. The other day, but no one cares about your. 49:09 Speaker 2 Everyone cares about my Oh my God one one episode me and Ken's because me and Ken's are everything a year abroad. See that's why I like Ken's are more than you OK? Me and Ken's are scared because we have to pay $30.00 a month for health insurance so we don't die. 49:20 Speaker 1 Bro don't get health insurance. Just literally funny. When was the last time you went to the GP? Gordon knows exactly you don't need it. Just knowing me, no doggy I won't get health. 49:30 Speaker 2 Insurance and then what? I die in the middle of the. 49:32 Speaker 1 St. No, they still take you to the hospital while you've been there. 49:35 Speaker 2 I'm not trying to be in debt. I'm already in debt because I'm living in a different country because I had to save up so much money for this year. But I'm living in a completely different country but. 49:41 Speaker 1 She said she has to save her money when she has like Goyard in her hand right now. 49:44 Speaker 2 I'm still saving my money up. No, no, no. And that was a gift. Would you sell? 49:47 Speaker 1 That to get money, it's not really. 49:49 Speaker 2 Worth much money to use though. 49:51 Speaker 1 Is it not maybe like a cheeky 5? 49:52 Speaker 2 100 if it was like a like a burkin or something. Those used still sell money, but goyards don't because they're so easy to get. 49:58 Speaker 1 But it would not be like a cheeky would you not sell it for a cheeky 500? 50:01 Speaker 2 More. 50:02 Speaker 1 Yeah, exactly. You can get, I can. 50:04 Speaker 2 Probably sell it because it's in good condition as well. It's not like damaged you could get like a. 50:07 Speaker 1 Cheeky what? 750 like 1200, but that's the price of it already, no? 50:12 Speaker 2 It's 1000. 50:13 Speaker 1 900 Oh my God, you're sorry? I didn't even know. I'm sorry again. 50:17 Speaker 2 No, I hate when people mess up the price because when I correct them I sell. I can spoil them. 50:21 Speaker 1 Actually 2 KS 1. 50:23 Speaker 2 1935 lbs. Oh my God. But, you know, a shout out to the Arabs of the world, by the way, for a second, because you. 50:29 Speaker 1 Know shower Arabs? Yeah, Heck yeah. 50:32 Speaker 2 Any Arab men listening? OK, but when I went in to go, I promise you it was just all the Arab buddies, like I they were amazing. Like, yeah, every time we like I go into one, like any type of designer store. It's literally the Arab buddies. I'm like Reform UK. Why are you protesting about everything? These are the rich ones. 50:47 These are the ones buying everything. I don't see no Reform UK buying a Chanel bag. 50:50 Speaker 1 Chaneli, Chaneli, me and Kenza are like one of the first like things we kind of argued about was that she was calling Chanel bag Chanel and I just me. 50:58 Speaker 2 Kenza. 51:00 Speaker 1 Oh wow. 51:02 Speaker 2 I'm being forgotten, but no, because everyone I'm around, like my sister and my friends and stuff, have always called it a Chanel. Yeah, there's a 2 Rich. I'm the. 51:12 Speaker 1 Proper East London girl, she said. She's East London, but she literally she's rich as hell. 51:16 Speaker 2 I grew up in the council and I was actually poor for a good 1314 years of my life. 51:21 Speaker 1 But she she made it out of it. 51:23 Speaker 2 I made out the hood and I'm getting, I'm averaging the first. I'm actually making out the hood for us. I'm going to bring all my girlies out the hood, but I'm going to switch up on my dear ones the minute I get famous. 51:31 Speaker 1 No, when I'm rich, I'm switching up on you. I'm going to forget with my humble beginnings. I'm going to forget my family. I'm going to say freak you. I'm going to buy everything for myself. I'm going to buy friends. That's what I'm going to do. 51:41 Speaker 2 Well, money can't buy happiness. Yeah. Do you think money can buy happiness? I think it. 51:46 Speaker 1 Can I think it can to a certain no. Obviously the only thing that it can't buy is health, and if you're not healthy, you're not happy. 51:53 Speaker 2 Well, it can buy health. It can buy medical. 51:55 Speaker 1 Procedures, OK, but if you're got stage 4 terminal cancer, yeah, true. 51:59 Speaker 2 But I also think, no, I think that obviously certain stuff is biological, like depression and stuff like you can't avoid that with money. 52:05 Speaker 1 But you mean? 52:06 Speaker 2 You can do things that help you with that, like, but if you feel sad, go on a holiday, yeah. 52:12 Speaker 1 You can afford like good therapy, good psychologist, whatever like. 52:16 Speaker 2 Obviously you can still have like sadness with money, but I don't think it's, I think it's easier to stop the sadness and I also. 52:24 Speaker 1 Think it's I have a hot take, sorry. 52:26 Speaker 2 I also think it's easier to manage it. 52:28 Speaker 1 Have you watched The Good Place on Netflix? 52:30 Speaker 2 Yes, I love the Good Place. 52:32 Speaker 1 That actually changed my. 52:33 Speaker 2 Same, I do watch it like every year and it's so amazing. 52:36 Speaker 1 Because you know, like once they get to the Good Place, which is heaven by the way, guys like they die and they go heaven. Yes, once they they go. 52:43 Speaker 2 Wait, what do you say? So the Good Place is basically heaven and the Bad place is hell, and then there's like a middle in between, which is called the Middle place. 52:49 Speaker 1 Medium, yeah, medium place. But yeah, so they fight for like so many seasons to get to the Good place and they get there and they see that it's not that. 52:59 Speaker 2 Good what they think it. 53:00 Speaker 1 Is yeah, it's not like we expected everything good. And it's like the people that have been there, it's like we're this is literally torture because we are, our brain are literally our brains are dying because we're so bored, like. 53:11 Speaker 2 Everything fighting. 53:12 Speaker 1 Each other everything we want to do we we able to do it so it's just so it gets boring there's nothing I haven't tried so it's like that's kind of what it feels like to have money like you have everything at your disposal so you can just you don't have to fight for it you. 53:27 Speaker 2 Know spoiler alert. In the end, the good place ended up being the Bad Place like they were. Inhale No. 53:33 Speaker 1 Don't tell, I said. 53:33 Speaker 2 Spoiler OK what they going to do I'm. 53:35 Speaker 1 Going to cover my ears. 53:37 Speaker 2 Stupid. But like that's kind of the whole point though, is like, that's actually your torture. Like one of the girls was really, really rich to Ronnie. And I think what was her torture? Her torture was just like. 53:48 Speaker 1 Oh, she had to plan parties that no one would care about. 53:50 Speaker 2 Yeah, no one would care because like in her childhood, like everyone care about her sister, not her with Eleanor, like her one was really good. Her one was that like she knew she didn't belong there. Yeah. So it was she had confirmation she was it was torture keeping that in. And she tried to all to become a good person. She just couldn't. Her torture was that she struggled to be a good. Yeah. 54:05 Speaker 1 No, but I'm talking about when they actually reached there, yeah. 54:07 Speaker 2 And they reached. 54:07 Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah, because everyone gets to. 54:09 Speaker 2 A point like even with the when they reached in the end, yeah, yeah, in the end when they reached that place and they all would just fuck it like. 54:15 Speaker 1 This. Yeah, they all like eventually just they don't stay in the good place because it's like, I've already complete everything I want. Like, yeah, I can be with my partner forever, but it's like it's just you get every, you can do whatever you want immediately. So it's like what is the? 54:29 Speaker 2 Point of that immediate, immediate ratification. 54:31 Speaker 1 Yeah, what's the point of being of being rich if you're not working like when? I think when you're rich, the process of getting rich is more like teasing than you. 54:43 Speaker 2 To know like your hard work. Yeah, like I've been working. 54:45 Speaker 1 Everyday and I'm finally going like I can finally save up. Like I feel like, you know, when you the excitement of saving up for something like Oh my God, I'm gonna do this. And once you get it, like, yeah, the like the first is cool. Like Oh my God, yeah, like I got it. But then you're like OK what not then I don't have any purpose. 54:58 Speaker 2 Any then you go find something else. Yeah, it becomes a constant side. 55:01 Speaker 1 So it's like it's, it's being because I think, you know, do you, do you believe in this thing that's like there's not ethical billionaires? Yeah, yeah. It's like. 55:09 Speaker 2 Why are you a billion? 55:10 Speaker 1 Like realistically, why are you a? 55:12 Speaker 2 Billionaire, genuinely, like, if I could donate all my money as a billionaire, like as much of it as possible, but I'm still maintaining a bit, well, myself, like a good cheeky style, I would do it. Yeah. Especially because like, you could as a billionaire, you could literally donate millions of dollars and still be a millionaire. 55:28 Yeah. Like it's so how many? How many millions is 1,100,000,000? 55:34 Speaker 1 Isn't 1000? I think it's 1000. 55:37 Speaker 2 I think it might be something like that you could still donate. Like people can't even conceptualize in their brain how big. 55:42 Speaker 1 A billion is. 55:43 Speaker 2 A billion is until I don't need that much money. Like with literature, even Billy, I just like she donated so much money, but it was only like 23% of her wealth. And like, I'm not saying, oh, donate more because she donated a lot. Yeah, she did. And she called out everyone who didn't. I'm like imagine you have the chance to literally like donate, help every. 55:58 Speaker 1 And it's not even about donate. I feel like what I would do if I had money would be like make my own projects. Like I would go to like disadvantaged countries and like build wells for them to like have drinking. 56:09 Speaker 2 You're one of them, like white people that volunteers in Africa. Yeah, I would. Actually, I would do it My. 56:13 Speaker 1 Dream. Yeah, that would be my dream. Or like working in UNICEF like I think. 56:17 Speaker 2 I'm too emotional for that. 56:19 Speaker 1 Though I would cry, I would see them. I'd be like no. 56:21 Speaker 2 I cry all the time, especially studying politics like it does genuinely make. 56:24 Speaker 1 You cry the people outside the radio. 56:28 Speaker 2 We have beat from you. 56:29 Speaker 1 I promise you, I'm gonna. I'm gonna stop this podcast. I'm gonna beat them up. 56:33 Speaker 2 Because it's like, how can you hear it through here? This makes me sound bruised exactly. But I cry at literally everything. Like I am the biggest crier in the entire world so I don't think I can. Like, as much as I love politics, I don't know how well I'm gonna do with my future job because I will cry at any problem that comes along. 56:47 Speaker 1 And I feel like whenever like someone disagrees with me or has like a, an opinion that I think is wrong, like if someone like, for example, would like defend Israel, I feel like I'd get someone like that start crying in their face. I'd be like no please. 56:58 Speaker 2 No, please. Please. 56:59 Speaker 1 Listen to me, I need. 57:01 Speaker 2 This. 57:02 Speaker 1 Speed, I need it kind of homeless, but yes, starting to get to the end of the episode so. 57:09 Speaker 2 A whole episode of Talking Absolute. 57:11 Speaker 1 Nothing. 57:13 Speaker 2 But that's exactly what you wanted, because I think this might be the most insane episode I would. 57:16 Speaker 1 Yeah, like, I hope you guys, I mean, you kind of got to know us. Yeah. I hope Kenza was here, but it's fine. She's a bomb. 57:24 Speaker 2 On the end of the episode I'll I'll tap in. 57:26 Speaker 1 Oh, that'd be really cool. 57:27 Speaker 2 And Kenza can be it as well. We could just actually talk nonsense. 57:30 Speaker 1 Freak. Yeah. But yeah, guys, I really hope you enjoyed. I hope you enjoyed this little silly talk with Eleanor's. Yay. Do you have any goodbye words to say? 57:43 Speaker 2 Thanks for listening, you guys are great. I'll be on here next semester. This is a very enjoyable experience, but stay cool. Oh my God, they fucking hit the thing again. Stay cool. Stay, stay political. Yeah, Stay fun. Stay fresh. Stay political. Be woke. 57:58 Speaker 1 Be go out there and. 57:59 Speaker 2 Spread your wokeness. 58:01 Speaker 1 OK, guys, bye, bye. 58:06 Speaker 2 Meow. 58:07 Speaker 1 I think the other one. Yay where? 58:11 Speaker 2 My ears hurt. 58:12 Speaker 1 Same.

Summary:

They reference The Good Place to argue that unlimited wealth removes purpose. The episode ends with lighter talk about music, accents, driving, future travel plans, and gratitude for their friendships.
