Guys, we're here with movie superstar Cody Rhodes, American Nightmare to American hero, Guile, the new street fighter Cody Rhodes. Oh, thank you. Okay. Holy. How's that coming? Congrats. What's up? How are you? I'm good. Congratulations to him. You got a movie. It was announced. Oh, thank you. Thank you very much. Congratulations to you too, man. Okay. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Cause you got street fighter and then street fighter we're both in and we had a great time. We did have a great time and like it got a lot of buzz about you. But street fighter has been, yeah, street fighters have done started it, right? Like, I wasn't even going to go there. I was genuinely happy for your, you was announced formally out there that you're part of this movie formal. So when you're saying if there's not something formally announced, I should, I should maintain K-Fade or whatever. How long are we? You heard it, baby. You heard it. You heard it. You heard it. So it's going on. But yeah. Yeah. But obviously we're only talking about formal announcements. You know K-Fade means. Yeah. I think you have a vague concept and we, did we talk about this the last time? I think K-Fade is when a guy puts his penis in another guy's force, no, that's, that's not. That's dark. That's dark. That's dark. That's dark. That's dark. Yeah. It's crazy. No, I joke with people all the time as if you can tell me the definition of K-Fade will give you $1,000 and I've never, ever had to pay up on that bet business. Is K-Fade just maintained the business? You're not wrong, but you're not right. The specific singular definition of it is, you know, is, you're not going to get it. But you didn't use it incorrectly, either, though. So I'm using it as like, you know, popular vernacular, but I'm not actually the definition of it. Yeah. It's root definition. And then people get that confused with its origins, which is origins is carnivals, calling collect K-Fable and calling collect, letting the family know you've made it to the next town. That's its origins, but that's not its definition. Okay. What's its definition? I'm not, I, I, I, I, that would ruin the old Ben $1,000 or, yeah, I got it until someone walks up to you. You don't know the definition though. Google it. Yeah. You're basically a wrestler yourself. You've done the show. You know, we're trying to figure out how to make celebrities work in, in sports entertainment for wrestling. Well, I could just be used to listen. I'm like, I'm such a casual wrestling. I just want to point this out. Yeah. You're not. You're not going to drop K-Fable in there. A few minutes in. Okay, okay. You worked with multiple wrestlers on a recent film project. Yes. You're not. Yeah. Shout out Roman. Also, shocked to see you guys not have a single conversation together the entire time you've ever been together. Yeah. That's not K-Fable. Well, this is where I'm like, so, so I was wondering about this and like I asked wrestling people. I'm like, at a certain point in time, I'm like, okay, they're going to be like, there's going to be this behind the scenes. They're all hanging out, right? Right. Buddies. My dad used to do the, the, produce the news for NBC back in the day. That's really cool. Yeah. And he did a thing where, with wrestling where back in the day, there was everybody kind of was like, this is, this is, you know, this is, was it not scripted? What is the term that you want to use for it? Or I don't know. I mean, real. But then they'll go, well, it is real. I get a hit per place, man. My back hurts. So I'm never that one, though. I'm never that one. Yeah. I see it several times when you can tell a wrestler instantly, especially when it's a split screen interview when somebody drops the F word in there and then a wrestler will be like, well, I broke my neck and they get all, I typically take a softer approach to the feeling you have when you come to an event is a real feeling. It's a real feeling, man. And that's usually why I don't ever use the, the F word in that regards, but also it's, that's where wrestling interviews sometimes can go to die because you can see a guy hanging on to it. Like, you can't let it go. You gotta let it go. Yeah. Like you remember Tyson got an interview and all of a sudden called that guy a rat. Do you remember that Mike Tyson? He could, it's a great Mike Tyson interview. It's not that I'm going to eat your kids. No, no. Just a little later after everything is, he's got a one man show he's promoting and Canada. Yes. And that guy in Canada, he goes, he goes in on that guy, but you can see if you were just looking at each other, you'd think, like, I think everything's okay. No, this is a Mike was not okay with the words that were in the question because he brought up the, you know, the past. He brought up the history. Oh, are you, is this it? That guy is brave. Oh, yeah, he thought he was safe, but Mike is a loaded gun. There he is, there he is, here we go, hey, I don't know what it is, I don't know what it is, you know what I mean? And I don't have no comments for that, you know, because he's negative and you're being negative. And I'm not, I'm not going to be, I'm not going to be a, I'm not going to be a little part of it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's not funny, but. Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson. Oh, wow, he's done all his life. I know. I know. So much to come across like the man that was really a piece of shit. You know, Rob, we're doing a lot of TV now. Yeah, we're doing a lot of TV now. We're doing a lot of TV now. There's a lot of TV now. I like being out there. I didn't want to be backstage. what you were going to do. That's one that's confidence so there's no videos, but there's hours of time probably lost on the content day because Sholtz kept needing to get his hair and makeup redone because he would get rough with Koji. And Koji, if you know Koji, is Koji been on here? No, yeah, no, no, no. Okay. Koji is real. Koji is real life for you. Yeah, he said absolute 100% legit martial artists, a wanderer, all those things. But yeah, for whatever reason, whatever reason Andrew thought he could take a down. And also not happening in an Netflix show with a sexy with Kira Knightley, by the way, you can watch that. Koji. Yeah. You haven't watched that? That's very weird. That's you know, because I like TV and I appreciate what my co-star says. I mean, why do you think I was trying to do the jujitsu? I was trying to mountain like here. What a stud, what a stud though. No, he's a piece. And why are you trying to fight him? It was like we're there for 12 hours or whatever. And like hour six, I just got a little silly. Yeah. And then he was pushing my fucking buttons. And I had to do something about it. I don't think you almost got it too. Yeah, I think I almost got it too. Yeah. It's got it, bro. It seemed like everybody was pushing your buttons. Yeah. And with me and you, it's not collaborative. No, no, it's what you know the word for that. So you got your wrestling vernacular? What's the word? No, no, no. The other side of that. If it's real, if it's real, what do we call that? I used it in a text but made it shoot. Shoot. Shoot. Shoot. And I wonder what I wonder what I texted you if you're like, what? It's something like. It's a straight shoot. Yeah. No, it's a straight shoot. No, I did a straight shoot. Are you lying? That went up. Yeah, but I feel like you gave me the one that's gonna make me throw up. Not a fucking tick. No, I've been nothing, but we've been nothing but friendly moments. You don't die charming. This whole time. That's when you're the one that's traveling. I've never seen a win a fight because he's lost in MSG. It sounds like he's lost the boss. I don't think I've seen you in a victorious moment. But. Yeah, come on Street Fighter. Street Fighter. You know, it might be only person in WWE history to get my ass kicked, saved by another man, and still go up on the ropes to celebrate. No, not at all. Really? No, no, no. Everyone goes up on the ropes. And the guys in the truck are like in their mind, you know, please don't go on the rope. AJ told me to do it. Well, then you were fine. AJ was like, do you want to go up there? Of course I want to go up there. Do you know what happens if you go up on the ropes with me? Like if you go to the second rope to do that, I always do this. At the end of the night, I have a whole collection of people saying, get up there. Get up there, wrestlers, lebs, if they go up there, I get underneath them. Thank you, throw them on the shoulder. I like to do the shoulder and collect them. I did it with. I did it with Braun Strowman one time. And that guy is legit three bills plus. And it was probably the biggest feat of strength I'd ever done. And I didn't save it for an in there. It is. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. That's a big guy. Yeah. Whoa. And I remember because now I got to walk him back. He can't come back with. I can't just for the ropes. Yeah. I got to walk in another buckle. So I remember walking him out there. But yeah, I like to. I think you feel that on the neck. You know, I didn't feel it. I didn't think that way. No. Look at that. Yeah. Holding the ropes for a little steadiness. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's probably the hardest one to collect right there. Oh. Yeah. I always do this. So if you get up on there with me, just don't worry about it. You've got all your arms. I got you. Okay. I'm not going to slip. I'm not going to drop you. I got you. You guys and wipe that well though. What's that? He doesn't wipe that well. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're going to be straight. You're going to have a shoulder straight. Honestly, who wipes that well? And he also gets like skived out about like a poop humor. Actually, I wouldn't say I get skived out about poop humor. He didn't even say he was skived out of it. He doesn't like. I didn't understand that you go from this very intellectual. He doesn't know. You don't watch it. And you just take it. All I know is on the set, he would do it. He'd be doing his bits and a lot of them were. Do you see? He's actually a heel. He, he presents himself. That was the whole charming guy. And then he just cuts your legs. So you're talking about like this. Yeah. Do you do your skins? Yeah. But then randomly, you would just rip one and like expect the whole room to die in laughter over that. And it seemed, it seemed to juxtapose against your humor differently. Yeah, but then once I found out it bothered you, like he would bother him. So I'd go into his like little green room, like his little thing into his little green room. And I just, I'd have like a, I asked him like, he'd have tied a little green room like. It was crazy one of the last few days. And I just fucking let it rip, though. I would just let it rip. And he would get like, he gets really, he's like, my wife is like this a little bit too. He's like IBS. He has some problems. Yeah. You got some sort of gastric distress. Yeah. Yeah. Not an iron stomach. Not at all. Not an iron stomach. No. He said, what are you trying to say? Well, I'm saying some have a iron stomach. And some people drink coffee and like immediately like a little kid run to the bathroom. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Or where do you fit on that scale? Are you trying to infantilize me right now? No. We have a little face off. We have a little face off right now. It's how it's happening. It's a lot of to see for the heel turn. Cody. Is that what's going on? Man, I think the last time I was on your show was what two years ago or three. I think we talked about a heel turn then. Look at, look how long this is. Can I ask you a question? Well, yeah. If you go heel. Okay. Is it dark hair? Well, that's a very good question. I don't know. What would it be? I think dark hair with one little blonde street. That's kind of cool. You just see your kind of cool look rogue. I think you got struck by lightning. Yeah. What way of choice is Rogan? I think it's right here. You've got and give me that. Did you ever like that? I did it. I'm not good at that. But it gave you that one. Okay. It's the light. Is it happening? Yes. Please. Yes. So you light a little bit first. You ever seen the movie Swordfish? Swordfish? Wait it with John Travolta and Halle Berry. Yes. Full, full, topless Halle Berry. Halle Berry. Yep. So swordfish. It's a cycle of heating and purve. Unbelievable. I mean, yes, he's a celebrity actress. Yeah. Swordfish in the beginning. I always tell people when they get into cigars, I say just watch the beginning of swordfish because he's cutting this monologue about the, I think it's the war economy. But it's perfect. Clips the cigar, toast it, and lights it's it's perfect because I feel like with cigar culture, a lot of gatekeeping, you know, you don't, a lot of cigars, the heavies turn other people off to it because of the whole ritual and all that. Sometimes it's got a great draw. Sometimes it doesn't. You don't have to smoke the whole thing. You put it down. Actually, kale. Great. On set. Legend. Kale. God bless the coolest human ever. I had just finished explaining to everyone that exact same thing. And then he came down and we were on the boat. He's like, that's not how you do it. And he was the prime example. No, you got to do it exactly like this. But he's a big cigar guy too. He's not bad. He was on a flight to London. I text him. He had a bag, a plastic bag of cigars that he's bringing to London. Okay. Kale is like a pure epicurion. You know, do you know Epicurion's philosophy is just like eat, drink, enjoy. There's no point saying anything. It's called Epicurion's epicurion. Epicurion's I think he's a Greek. He's a Greek. And life is meant to be enjoyed. Life is meant to be enjoyed. Life liver. Guys, important information. Street Fighter October 16th. Okay. One ticket costumes are encouraged, but you will be giving the comics material. See you guys there. One at a 10. What's his acting? How would you rate him? Okay, so you can just say 10, but I like that you're thinking about it. I want to think about it because because when I came on set, he had already been rocking a roll and I even asked you when you were there, I said, are you a producer? Because you were so involved in everything right? So involved. And I'm there. It was the day I wasn't shooting and Kale who shot out to Kale can't, that guy's amazing, but Kale was just putting you over. And how cool, how really phenomenal your performance was. And there's a particular scene where you didn't have to go as hard as you did. And I say you didn't have to, but I don't know. But you went. And this isn't a comedy scene. This is a pure on in a beautiful action comedy fun movie, a pure moment of drama that you gave us. And I remember watching, thinking, okay, all right, like these are heavies here. It was really inspiring because the same day you shot that scene, so I'm giving them a moment. >> The cut the whole scene. The same day you shot that scene though, they ran the sizzle for us. >> Yes, that's right, that's right. So they run the sizzle for us and Katow, Kale, Jay, the producer, they're putting the sizzle together. I was on a little league team and we were getting ready to go play in the championship. The way it was so, I could have run through a brick wall. >> Yeah, that's so close. >> And I needed to shoot right away, I mean, they had, they're really, they were so accommodating to I'd say a non-actor like me, who was coming on and that was my first time on a big set like that. My first day, they gave me rehearsal time. We got rehearsal time on the weekend. >> That was, yeah, I was, yeah. >> Yeah, I'm very impressed. I'm sorry. >> No, no, no. It was really interesting because I was like, you know, Kale, I really want to get the trailer out. And I'm sure both of them, and Katow directing the movie is fucking brilliant. And like, I think the idea was we got to let the people in the movie know what the tone of the movie is, because there's like 17 different characters or whatever from the game. And each person's coming in maybe with a different perspective of what the movie is, what the humor is in it, like the seriousness and like, I think that was a, that was a smart idea early on in the process. >> Were you doing that for the idea? >> No, I didn't do shit. I just came in and shot a producer, I was like, yeah, it was so fun to see Katow write it as, we had a beautiful script ready, and then what we could find on the day, him just rewriting it as it all goes. >> Yeah. >> And just like, he'll throw you lines, like, they're just fucking a basic light. He'll just pepper you with shit. But this scene, it was basically three of us. It was like, "No, it plays Ken, Cody and me." And this is your first day, and it's, everybody gets to see Guile for the first time. So you gotta understand, like, everybody working on the movie played the game. These are all people probably in their like 30s, 40s, 50s, did play the game as a kid. And there's obviously you know really Ken, but Guile's hair, this is the thing. And then the intro, the first time we see him is just walking down this hallway. And like, it was a pretty cool moment on set, you know? >> Yeah, I got to, I feel like the highest compliment I ever could have got from Noah. I barely knew Noah, and Noah, I don't think again, needs to be as kind as he is. What a superhuman person, what a good leader. >> He's amazing. >> Yeah, a good leader, and I came on set to have them see my hair. Have them see it. Is that right? Is that gonna be it? And I hadn't met really anybody. And I come on and it's a full room, and Noah just yelled, "Oh man, now we're making the Street Fighter." And I thought, "Oh, I got it." >> Yeah, also you mentioned poor shredded. >> Go top left, look at this fucking guy. >> Yeah. >> Oh, this is what he looked like for two straight months. So like certain people will do, you know, like you know when you're gonna show your top list shit? They get absolutely shredded. >> You're in great shape. >> For two days. >> Like his? >> For two days. >> That's all you need, right? >> It was great for me, by the way. >> Yeah. You're like athletes, we have to have your shirt off. >> Yeah, but you're an athlete speaking of, I was gonna ask you, Tommy, I was gonna ask you. >> Yeah, yeah. You're lean by the way now. I just want to point that out. Did I mention that before? >> You did, you mentioned it. You're the thread you're trying to pull is that I've gotten lean for a movie role. >> I'm not saying that. >> That I haven't disclosed. >> Did you? >> I'm not saying that at all. >> That's what you, yeah. >> I haven't said that in a movie. >> I haven't said that in a movie role. Shout out to that. >> No, but what I'm saying is, you are just, you're a massive fucking guy. You're a physically imposing guy and now I feel like you're, yeah, you're just, you're just getting lean. >> You're saying he's more delicate now? >> No, he's not more delicate, but I just feel like if you took that off, don't do it. I would just see cuts and threads and just, here's a hard detour for you. >> Yeah. >> Do you still play in paddle? >> I fuck my kill he's up now. >> How? >> Career in England. >> How? >> How? >> How? >> It's crazy. >> Fuck my kill he's up a little bit. >> So it's been, it's been knocking me down on the paddle. >> What's the only thing you can eff up a little bit? It seems like. >> It's all nothing. >> Yeah, all or nothing on a kill he's, right? >> Are you, are you implying that I'm faking it? >> No, I'm just saying. >> Are you using the fucking F word with me? >> No. >> What I'm saying is that you're not playing paddle anymore. >> No, I am going to play once I heal myself. >> Because of the amount of paddle, I'd say paddle pushing. >> Yeah, I do a lot of paddle pushing. >> You were, everyone who could listen. You were talking about going to play paddles, and also you were playing with strangers. >> I was playing with strangers. >> You were literally setting up these paddle dates. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I just thought, this is, I wanted to know if you were still doing it, because you were so into it. >> It's completely obsessed. >> Really? >> And I just can't. >> Well, what is paddle a thing in the States? Because it was a thing there. >> No, it's not. >> It was huge there. >> No, it wasn't. We were building it there. Now it's big. >> Now it's big. >> So you see it to your part. >> They're doing it at the Sydney Opera House now. I'm just saying. >> Yeah. >> Any place with like Spaniards or like Mexicans paddle like really. >> Yeah. >> Paddle with a thing. >> Is it that? >> Yeah. >> But we got to get you in. >> Without them. >> You know, I don't think I'm ever going to play a game of paddle. >> [LAUGH] >> Well, I did. >> You're doing it again. >> So if you, if you just, you know, the paddle world championships, and you were in my legs out there. >> I'm not trying to. If you were in the paddle world championship, so good. >> I would come and support you and be about it. >> This is even worse. >> I don't want you. >> But you would support him on his little hobbies. >> You see the infantilizing thing, what's the Kenny Powers quote about when they try it? >> And he just talks over me like, I'm not even here. >> So it's like, it's a really interesting energy. >> This is going to be great. >> He says something about that. >> I play Real Sports. I'm not trying to be good at exercising. >> Yeah. >> That's it, that's it, classic. >> And not having that too. >> I can't apply that. >> It's just a funny quote. >> I can't. >> But it feels like you are. >> Not at all. >> I'm supporting of the paddle thing. If you wanted to play paddle with me, one on one, or however paddle works, yeah. >> [LAUGH] >> I take it back. I'd play paddle with it. >> Yeah, I would. >> Well, I feel like I can make a wish, Cody. >> [LAUGH] >> And I'm glad that you could deliver on that. >> Well, I just want to know if you're still playing paddle. I'm sorry about your killings. >> Yeah, I am. >> Which side? >> Left side. Strong side. >> Great movie. >> Great movie. >> Fantastic. >> Run it up Herman. >> Run it down. >> Run it up. >> Run it up. >> Run it up. >> Run it up. >> One of my absolute. >> No, no, no. >> That movie was great then. >> Tonight they will remember. >> Man. >> It's still great. >> Just cried. >> I remember the Titans. >> I knew it was football. >> I didn't know it was football. >> I didn't know it was football though. >> We need, guys, can we get some more cups in here? >> We got. >> Run it up Herman. >> Here. >> Are you ready? >> It's your house. >> Yes, yes. >> I shouldn't. >> Yes, yes. >> Are we going to keep doing this? >> I won't talk about it. >> I just, are we going to keep doing this because you specifically were like, hey, we're small business guards and we're drinking. >> I didn't mention the cigars, which are phenomenal. Thank you, by the way. >> You're very welcome, by the way. >> How is it, by the way? >> It's good. >> But now you're doing a thing where like, I'm almost bullying you into drinking. >> No. >> When this is your idea from the beginning. >> Okay. >> Is it too many calories? >> Can I tell you why you're on the cut? Are you not a drink? Is that a problem? >> Can I tell a story about you drinking? >> You can tell a story. >> A story? >> Is it a Cody lie or is it a Cody truth? >> The shorts lies are worse than the Cody lie. >> Don't even put your lies on me. >> Do you know his reputation in the business? >> No. >> It's got a little bit of a wrap. >> A Cody lie is, it's got to be rooted in truth, but you want to put a little, you want to put a little sauce on it. >> It's like a good storyteller. >> Yeah, exactly. It's simple. >> Yeah, you want to put a little spin. >> Another. >> Told the Cody lie while describing her Cody lie. >> All right, so I'll talk to you about Andrew and I over in Australia drinking and what I expected. I'm good. I'll have it neat. >> Oh, you want to meet? >> Mm-hm. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So, everyone's bossing you around the head. >> Andrew over sees again. >> Unbelievable. >> I get there and he is, I thought he was a real producer. He was super active. He was supportive of everybody. Another great leader on set. >> Yeah. >> And I was, I was very kind of nervous about this whole thing, right? >> And he kept saying to me, hey, are we going to have a night? And these are your words. >> Oh, yeah. >> Are we going to have a night? >> I've heard this before. >> You don't even have to, this is not a Cody lie. >> He's going to have a night. >> Sounds like a show. So when he said it, when he said it, here's what I thought. >> Did he run the stomach? >> Did he run the stomach while he was doing that? >> He might have been. >> But it happened on multiple occasions. And finally, I'm thinking, this is approaching. And when you say that to somebody in the wrestling space, a very archaic wrestling space that how we do, if someone says, hey, we're going to have a drink together. We're going to have a night. That means all night. That means we might go out in Australia and flip a cop car. That means we might have a story for the rest of our lives. >> Sounds coming up. >> Basically, you were committing to, we are going to go-- >> There's no warning. Right? And you kept saying, are we going to have a night? And then the night never came. And then there were a few moments where we were at Katow through this wonderful dinner party. And that's where I got the sense, maybe I shouldn't be worried because maybe he doesn't really drink at all. This is finally, when it comes around, would you guys like anything to drink? Thinking this is probably step one of the night. He ordered an apparel spritz and for the night, for the night, an apparel time across my leg. >> Tell that party. >> So you ordered this apparel spritz and I thought, oh, and maybe all asking because I'm actually ordered for his wife. >> I loved it. >> It was his. And I like this idea of a night, but also we're there doing work. >> We're there doing work. >> So I thought, maybe I can level with them. I'm not really looking to go crazy either here, pal. But then it goes. because he ordered that app for all spritz, which I thought, "Whew, not the drink I was expecting." And then you try to take it up a notch, and you ordered a whiskey, and I'll never forget. And that's where I knew, "Oh, he doesn't really drink at all." And thank God, thank God, he is really-- - What is this? - And thank God, fuck, thank God, so-- - He's a fucking animal, fucking animal. - Yeah, I'm sorry, God. - That's a bless your heart. - He goes, fuck it, he goes, I'll get a whiskey ice, and she goes, on the rocks, he goes, "Nah, neat." And she goes, "So no ice, no with ice." And they had this hole back and forth. - Yeah, I thought, "Oh, we're good." He don't even-- - I'm jet lagged, I'm 20 hours-- - Dude, this was a mid-trip, this was a mid-trip. - There was another thing. I messed up the way to say it. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - No, but it was okay, because I think I even asked you, "Hey, you're not really a big drinker." Or you just said, "Not really." And I said, "Yeah, me neither want to know what-- - You want to know what I wanted to say? - What do you want to say? - I want an ice back. - Okay. - So I could decide how many cubes I wanted in my drink. - Ah, okay, okay. - That's what I've calculated. - Are people ordering like that? - After ice back? - Yeah, okay. - Well, if you don't want to water down your drink too much-- - I get you. - Do you drink? - I don't drink as much as you do. (all laughing) - Oh, is that a soul you don't drink? - Do you know how this whole thing started? - You saying, "Do you want a night?" - Stop, stop, stop. - Stop, stop. - Yeah, this is how it started, okay? Cody and I were kind of like describing our early years in our respective businesses, okay? And there are painful similarities of the loneliness that one endure is just hotel rooms, shitty hotel, you're by yourself. And then Cody overshares-- - Oh, really? - I tend to overshare. - True. - No, no, it was beautiful. It was a beautiful, vulnerable thing. And you were like, yeah, I mean, like what I usually do, 'cause I was like, "Do you wanna come watch this UFC fight?" Right? - Yes. - And all the cast was coming together to watch this UFC fight. - Great spot, where the fight was. - Amazing spot. Boyed Ben Spiden, you know, Volcanowski was gonna, who's in the movie was gonna cook for everybody. I'm like, "Come." And then Cody's like, "Yeah, dude, I'll absolutely come." And usually I'm just drinking whiskey alone in my hotel room in the dark. - Yep. - I don't know if I put in the dark. That seems like a show fly on a-- - I'm not judging that up. You were like, "I drink whiskey alone in the dark." And then I go to sleep. - Well, you share something with you. It's vulnerable. - Yeah. - That's why I didn't feel comfortable even sharing it now until he's been a dick. (laughing) - I was just telling that it was very nice that we never really did have like-- - A prober night. - That prober night. And I still wonder, but hold on. - Do you want that? 'Cause there's a lot going on. - I want it. - Yeah. - All right. - All right. - I want it. - Okay, all right. - I'm down. - I get to choose the drinks. - See Shirley Temple. - Yes. - Yes. - Just grab the ice. (laughing) - Throw the ice back. (laughing) - No, so he says that. And then he's like, "Yeah, you know, we drink." And then you're telling me John's stories. Like you and Cena-- - Oh, the best. - Get an after it. - That's when you say, "He can have a night." John would have an eight. - That's-- - He'd have a case. - Oh. - And then what we call a dirty 30 in another cooler in the back, when the case got done. - So you polish off the case. - So if you got three guys and you've gone through 24 and then you're looking at a dirty 30 as well, that's a night. That's people falling down the side of the road. - Yes. - You know, like picking up car. I keep going back to the cars, but turn the cars over to the cars. - When do you have that for all sprits? - Well, you know what, it's not in there usually. - Really? - Yeah, it's not in there. - But that's an older generation. - Yeah, and maybe, again, I wasn't even have-- - I think I was more nervous to the idea like, "Oh man, all right, he's old school." - See, I was trying to put everybody in. - I thought it was-- - Well, I thought it was a comedy thing. Like wrestling. - I thought it was a comedy thing. I thought in the world of comedy, maybe that's a thing. - No. - Just, hey, you know, for example, I don't know, or I'm not friendly with many comedians. Bert is one I'm friendly with. I know Bert can have a night. - Yeah. - And it's ad night. - Many a night. - Yes. But yours was different. And I appreciated that. I respect that. - To me or that? - To me, the night is just connecting with my friends. Whatever allows me to connect with my friends and learn about their future projects and just really, and just really feel, - Speaking of future projects. - Yeah, yeah. - Congrats, dude. (laughing) - Congrats. - Congrats. - Cheers. - Cheers. - How was Code as an actor? This is like his first big role. - Yeah. - On a major scale. - Code and crush it. Listen, we're gonna do this like typical thing that like we always see with people in movies where it's like, you talk about the experience and like glaze the experience. But like, you were fucking, I think you blew people away. I remember when they were thinking of casting you. - Yeah. - I remember, I remember they, how did you know they were like in the cost of casting? - It's real comedy. - This guy is really funny. - It's crazy. - What do you think about Guile? What do you think of Cody Rhodes for Guile? And I was like, what about Joe Hendry? - Yeah. (laughing) - Scott? - Scott? - That's like Joe. - No, what I mean, what I told him was like, I think he's a fucking stud and he's like amazing. And, but I've never seen you act. - Yeah. - But my feeling was like, - And now he's taking credit for you getting to part. - No, not at all. (laughing) - Not at all, I had nothing to do with it. Anyway, the decisions are already made. They just throw them over to me and I say, "Of course." (laughing) - They need your sign off. - They need your sign off. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. (laughing) - Okay. - Hey man, the power. - Anyway. - Power, dude. - You come in. - Yeah. - And the first scene is like, I don't know what you are expecting first scene. - Sure. - 'Cause I don't know if like, I don't know if your head, you're like, I gotta make sure I get these lines down and I gotta go do it 'cause that was my feeling when I, - 100%. - It's like, I need to do it. - The lines on paper, I want a no one have to remind me of them, no one. - And I'm an asshole 'cause whatever is on the paper, I'm not saying. - Yeah, that's all. (laughing) - So, you got around to what was on the paper. - You were well prepared. - And it always comes through. - You had ideas too. - Yeah. - But what happened very quickly is you just started playing. And there's like a run where you're just kind of peppered. (laughing) - You wanna know my favorite piece of direction? - No. - More pre-workout. (laughing) - My favorite piece of direction because I found myself kicking my jaw out a lot. - Yeah. - Just very intense. - Yeah. - Wanted to be very intense. Because I think you were about to ask about the preparation. - Yes. - Preparation was all traditional. Let me look into the military and, you know. - Well, that's the thing from 80 to 94. Let me look at all this. Let me find a realistic why is the hair like this? - Like literally military. - Yeah, and all of that, which was helpful to have it way back here. - Outside perspective. I thought that you knew your character. And I don't wanna compare with anybody. But I thought you knew that character. As well as I've ever seen anybody that I've acted with no their care. - Oh, thank you. - To the point where you would just kind of be in set with the hair, whenever you had the hair on, you were kind of in character. Like we could also like talk shit about fucking wrestling or family or whatever. But like you might just like mutter shit in character. And then it would work. And then it would be in the movie. Like I think with you, I think your time in the movie doubled since you arrived. - I did, I also think. - But they added scenes for him. - Oh, really? - They popped him in other shit like. - I was very blessed that when I stayed the extra week, I was, it was a smaller role. And then the movie was living reading organism. And it was growing. - Let me brag for you, you killed it. And they were like, how do we put him in more things? - Man. I see how easy it is to be nice to a friend. - I know you did a great job. Do you see how easy it is to be kind? - Yeah, but you say it's kind. - Try it till I got it. - Isn't that, doesn't that nice? - Yeah, thank you. - The day that scene's for you. - They just cut the scene for me. - Yeah, we filmed a lot. - Some of your scenes and if you think they were very, yes, they're very generous. And I think that our characters had a generous. - Also had a fun, we discovered that the characters have a fun relationship. - This is why, and again, I know this seems like whatever, but like this is why I got to give a lot of credits to Katow and Kale. It's like they saw stuff that was working. And then in real time, they were like, okay, how do we build more of these moments? What can we do that, oh, this relationship dynamic is fun? Let's milk it. Let's stretch it out. Let's put it in other places. And I don't know if a lot of people are doing that. I genuinely like, you got millions of dollars on the line. You've got to make your day. If you don't make your day, you look at the thing. - And they're literally just going, I'll try like that to put an epicurean stud. - He's an epicurean at his core. You know what he said to me the other day? I gotta read the text. He goes, he goes, yeah, I'm just getting out of the bath. I go, what? He goes, I'm a bath guy. - Oh, wow. - Okay. Okay. Kale wakes up at 4.30 every morning to bathe. - Wow. - Literally. - Have you had Kale on the show? - Of course. - Kale went on the show? - No. - Kale, I was getting so on set. - We're probably giving him too much heat right now. - No, no. - So, does he get mad if you mention him or not? - No, I'm not sure. - I'll wrap up my Kale. - Come along. - Go along. - Go along. - With this. - Yeah. - This was such a huge opportunity for me. And I was so excited to do it. And over the course of us filming, I don't think I've had that much fun in years, the amount of stuff the cast did together, the amount we got to try stuff on set, the movie being really involved to not being held in the dark on where this is going and what really involved. I think about Kale and Katal all the time in a way that I thought maybe it was just my first movie, but I'd take a bullet for those guys. - Pro. They took a big gamble on me. And he said, there's a small scenes, couple lines, passed by these guys, go down the elevator, and the next scene, you know, it's just growing, and it's becoming this thing, and I hope people love it, 'cause we had such a fun time making it. - It was such a fun time. - This is like the cool thing about being in Australia, is that when you're wherever you live, you have all the responsibilities of wherever you live. And when you're in a foreign country, nobody has anything to do, but make the movie. - Yeah. - So like people were coming to set on days where they weren't even filming, just to hang. - Yeah. - And like, this is also director, producers, but everybody's there, doing nothing but the movie. So it's almost like, you know, when like boxers do a fight camp in the Poconos or some shit, it's like to get away from any distraction, then they're like 100% locked in. - And I think because of that, everybody really started to get along, and then there was this kind of fun chemistry that would come out and see us. - And, you know, to Katal and then, you know, Kale and everybody, Jay, shout out Jay, well, you know, unspoken hero, but like, unspoken hero. They just, they would start to like get the chemistry and they would really like feed. - Yeah. - It takes a lot of confidence, the day of, to be like switching scenes or like, improve scenes. - Oh yeah, like you said, that would fucking make that day. - Katal is just like, insane. Like, I don't think, did you ever see him get stressed? - Not once. I saw him walk around set one time and thought, maybe he's fostered because he was walking. - And then I don't think I saw him one time. - See 100 people asking things, like annoying actors like us, like, but would my character actually, like we're doing like a video game character? - Yeah, he's taking a shit in the woods. And he's like, but would my character wipe with? - But what I really like, and it's very similar in the wrestling space because sometimes to still down wrestling and we have to, there's all these hills you want to die on, and then you have to remind yourself, hey, sometimes you're just in your underwear, play fighting with your friends. - Yeah, I know, like, that's, but what I loved, and I found this with Noah, 'cause I was gonna ask you who you thought everyone was such an MVP on the set, but I found this with Noah when he was asking questions. - Yeah. - I was so intrigued by the process of him talking to Koji about their relationship and asking these questions. When people see the kin-reue dynamic, they worked on it. So they really wanted to make that brotherhood of thing. And it got me the bug. I'm gonna give you another knee tap. - It got me the bug. - Watching him work, I thought, what, I want to do this. - Yeah, it was, he had like, no in Koji, Noah's like a really good number one, because Noah's type of guy who like, even if he's not in the shot, like obviously you don't have to like film things this way, and then you film things the other way. And there's certain guy, like, he's had a point like his career and success, where like he doesn't have to be there if he's not in the coverage. But like he would like be jumping and falling on a mat when the camera's not on, just to like have something to react to. And I think what happens is like, when the number one does that, everybody else starts to go, all right, I, you know, this is the standard. - If Koji's showing up early for practice. - If Koji's showing up at 5'30, everybody got to be there at 5'30, and I think that that's like something that's not really said, but I think everybody kind of understood. You know, you got, yeah, I was really impressed with him. - What other like wrestling analogues did you find to acting? Like what did you pull in from the wrestling career that the character work has to be? - I think probably the number one thing and I got it with him the most, was when you were with really talented people who can improv and can riff, don't get in your head over the thing you're saying. Don't look for the A plus plus joke. It might be, you might have hit the C joke, you're going to find the A plus plus. Your partner might be the one who finds it. But basically that was for me. I did not want to get behind when everyone started moving. I didn't want to be the one just still reading, direct off the script when we are now talking all over the place. - Yeah, I can real time. - So that was very helpful. And that's, I mean, that in the wrestling spaces directly from not just in-ring promos, but in-ring promos with a really good live audience and in-ring promos with a rock, with a scena, with a Seth. - But it's just gonna go that, if it's going another way, we're going another way. - Yeah, right. - Don't get stuck in it. - And being in the moment enough. - Be in the moment, yeah. - Even like that little car scene that they have in like the trailer between us, like kind of what was on the page wasn't exactly there. And I think maybe it was Katow or something like that. It was like, you know, what if you get in there and you're like really concerned about Kyle? - Oh, my face. - Who was your MVP on set? Obviously, they were, I thought everyone was phenomenal. - I mean, I got really close. - You were talking about actors or-- - Just somebody, maybe the better way to look at it, 'cause I don't, everyone was so serious about what they wanted to do. But when I watched it, there were two that I left thinking, ooh, they're performance is stuck with me. I had two in mind. - Go. - Colleen and David. - You know, Colleen is so good. I don't get to work with David a lot. So seeing his stuff felt like I got to watch a movie. - Yeah, David's bison. - Yeah, you guys know David, that's Malcolm. - Right, he's just like a fucking brilliant actor. He's, yeah, he's awesome. - And he took it a different way. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Like what did Colleen apply? - John Lee. - John Lee, yeah. - John Lee, she put the size on and the thighs. - That's all real story and like win for it, man. - That's some good, that's it. Let me just clarify something right now. We didn't fucking measure her thighs at the beginning of the production. There was, there was no fucking creepy Hollywood producer going, really, you're in '19. Let's see if we can get you to '25. - Yeah. - We just noticed that she really, she's the one who said it, right? - She did it. - She was doing the measure. - That's all I'm saying. That was on her. - Yeah, but we appreciate it. - You know how many people send me this pic right there? They're like, is that real? - Your little trailer was right around the corner. - Yeah, we had a fun little, yeah, we had a fun little, little, little park there. - A fun little trailer. - I felt bad because Eric Andre took mine after I left. - Bro, he, and I've never, I smoked so many cigars in that trailer. - So nobody, nobody knows. - Showed it's coming in, dropping, you know, the shots bombs in there. - What Eric did to that trailer? - Nobody remembers what he said, yeah. - Eric phenomenal too. - Eric came in like a fucking hurricane. It was unbelievable. - And that character needs it. - It was unbelievable. And they like mapped out his voice. - What do you mean? - 'Cause like, when he, when he was going, he's going. And he's on a hundred and he's fucking, it's wild. It's like tornado. And he's filling up this arena 'cause he's like the announcer. So he's screaming. He's ad-libbing, he's just saying crazy shit. They're basically just going roll, and then Eric does Eric. And they basically saved his voice. - So they let him go hard the first two days, and then they did where he's backgrounds the next two days, or whatever, because they're like, we know he's going to lose his voice if we just let him go. But they wanted him to go to get the goal. - I almost always had to be in the background because there was only one proper wig. We had multiple guile wigs, but there was only one that was really sharp and proper. And I wanted to be there on all things. And when I put it on to this point, I was trying to kind of be in it. But there's a scene where Koji and I are about a mile away. And he sat with me for about five minutes. And we're not even in this shot. We're barely in the back. He sat with me for about five minutes. And he's like, "Hey, I think I don't." And then the next thing you know, it was a different Koji, who has said next to me, but all the time. - Did you notice them? - Yeah, I definitely noticed. I don't know if they wanted to make a gile enough cheese. - You know? - Dude, Koji is such a legend, bro. - This guy true life for you, Marius. - Yeah. - To the point where he would go to the beach and just stare at the water. And he has a PA with him at all times. So there'd be a PA just standing behind him. - How's he staring? - That crossed the like, it's staring at the water. - This is a hundred percent, they have to find him. - Oh, yeah, like it was like, he was the wanderer. I mean, he really is re-u. I think people respond huge to it. - I don't even think he has Instagram. Like, he's like a martial artist that like accidentally does things. - He's a stud. - Oh, okay. - Yeah. - That's fun. - You mentioned PA's and stuff. You kept talking to me about your driver. And then I come to find out your driver was the Mrs. - You were was your wife. (laughing) - First of all, you just drivers the driver. - Okay, first of all, you kept saying my driver - He's doing a Cody lie? - No. - It's like actually gonna be weird because I did have a female driver. So now my wife's watching this like, you kept talking to her at the time. - Your wife drove me to Luna Park. - Yeah, one time we picked up Cody. - And she drove. - Yeah, but this is where I lie. - But is that your drive? - This seems like a good thing. - This is where I lie. - So my wife, if you wanna know what a misogynist Cody is, my wife and I, I thought you were driving. So my wife and I go pick up Cody 'cause 50 cent rents out the fucking action parker, like six flags, rents out an entire theme park and ends the gift giving that was going on on set. 'Cause Cody, 'cause Cody, I do a little bar upstairs. We're gonna watch the UFC Alexander Volkanowski Cooks. - Very cool, very nice. - Cody, the heel that he is in his core, this nice guy bullshit, the heel that he is, rents out a yacht. - And like, there's a whole thing on a yacht. - Oh, that's awesome. I don't love to go in. I know, I like that one. You have to go in. You have to go in. You have to go in. I love to go in. I know, I like that one more. You have to go in. You have to go in. You have to go in. You have to go in. I can't say that at all. It's funny that that's how you remember it. It's funny that's how you remember it. Did you know 50 before the movie? didn't know everybody gets to know each other. I'm so sorry. Take my watch. What was on his wrist? It was a big dick move right there. Oh my god. And he was like, no, I'm not taking this. But he was dying and encrusted. Presidents. Oh, I iced out president. It was unbelievable. Why didn't you tell you Phil you can pull it off? What? Well, you see how you're like influencing everybody else around him? What? No, I'm not. I'm going to take his watch. That's the homey man. I'm not going to take his watch. That'd be just for refusing a gift. It's kind of rude. Yeah. He really wanted you to have it. Right. That is fucking rude. I think the look of the watch let you know, like I cannot take this. What? It was so that watch has probably his upwards of 750,000 plus. It's probably over a million. There's no offering into you. There's no way. It's a totally iced out presidential. Do you think he knew he wouldn't accept it? No. I think 50 was the nicest he genuinely. If it was a watch that didn't matter to him, like if you gave me that watch, like I would take that. But for that. He's also. He's also an iced out president for that. Is that 50 cents a watch? I took that. I'm going to take it. I mean, no, I can't. I can't. People would have taken it. Come on. No, no, but I was, I mean, he kept pushing it. He did push it in the willpower on here. Yeah. Yeah. And he had a couple of spritzes in you at that point. I was like, "Fuckin' me, Trap. I'm gonna throw this side of the fuck in that lock." So believable. Guys are believable. Oh, yeah. I think he's great. I think he's cool. I think he's cool. Well, the WWE miss out on it too. Not really actually, you know. That's not true. I hear everybody likes you. I think I have a, yeah, I think I have okay reputation. At this point in my career, I think I, and I regret this a little bit. I'm a little siloed up. I'm a little away from every, oh, yeah. But maybe that allows you to be liked by other people. And maybe, but like the current kind of locker room. I'm always on the bus. I typically wait a long time before I go in. Yeah, so I feel a little siloed up, but I shouldn't be, but I'm a little. Are you a. No, not like that. Just like, I'm not later, anything. But if I'm not needed, I don't want to be. A diva? Nah, I don't know. No, I don't think so. But maybe. But maybe, I've been doing it a long time. You've been doing it a long time? Are the other wrestlers of jealous, you're like a big famous movie story with movies coming up? Yeah, another, another movie in a new project. Yeah, what is a locker room? I think a locker room is actually very excited about Street Fighter. And I hope we get at the premiere some of the, some of the boys. We got it. How to see it, because also too, it's an opportunity. This movie, Katow, KL, once again, getting a shout out here. They didn't just cast one wrestler. There are three wrestlers in this movie. And I don't know if you know. Goto! I don't know if you know Goto. He did the headbutt in New Japan the other day. Really? He did. He made an attempt. So the guy who plays E-Honda. Yeah. You know E-Honda from the game, the sumo wrestler can. It's like an iconic wrestler in Japan that like, these guys knew and like, partied with when they would go wrestling in Japan. Like, we had nights. No, we never had a night. Goto is good. Tell me, you know what I mean? There was like a fixer that you have when you were a. Not a fixer, a sponsor. When you go to Japan. Sorry, sponsor. The guys, the American wrestlers will have a sponsor. Yeah. And they'll take you out. And sometimes they're at night. Is it sort of like a jacket? The rebar, a jacket. The rebar jacket. That's a whole another. If you go. Yeah. I mean, you've rubbed shoulders now with this man right here. They need to give you a rebar jacket. But what is a rebar jacket? Rebar is a steakhouse in Japan. I think there's two locations. Correct. You know, that when you go, they have built the steakhouse around wrestling. There's wrestlers all on the outside. And there's wrestlers. There's a picture on every surface of there it is of this building. And it's from way back. It's also mixed martial arts. I mean, rebar when you go in, though, as a wrestler, if you are, there's a scene right there. You get a jacket and you take a picture in front of that rebar a logo. And these jackets, they're back. Guys were wearing these almost as merch in the 80s. They were wearing. If you had a rebar jacket on, you were somebody. It was like a letterman jacket. You were a thing. And there's taker right there. Oh my gosh. What about Andre? Yeah. Andre had definitely had been in rebar. Here's a fun little fact about rebar. And I hope they don't mind me throwing this out. When they know you're coming, they might move your picture. To make it closer. Yeah, that's smart. I came and I know my picture is usually on the ceiling next to my brother and my dad. My dad has like 10 different pictures in there throughout his career. I've got one or two. But last time I came, it was right above the bar, dead center. And I thought, I love these guys. And I love this culture. That's beautiful. And the jackets, they don't say it. They just ask you your size and then they come out and they're really crazy colors. You know, it's seen in the silver, the blue. I've got a burgundy and I've got a red. And I always want the gold. Mike Kyoto, famous WWE official man, he had a gold. Gold's great. Rebar is a great spot. Also wrestling fans flock towards it when they come to Japan. But who's godo? Godo wrestles for a New Japan pro wrestling. >> No, I know, but who is he to them? >> Oh, he's one of the godo's been one of their top stars for quite some time. >> Is there a corollary you could make to an American? >> No, I don't think so actually. Yeah, because in terms of the relationship he has with the audience and what he means to them. >> Is he an undertaker, ask figure? >> No, he has seen it. >> No, and I feel like hardcore fans will probably not like my. But there's two guys over there. I actually never wrestled directly one on one with godo. I would have liked to wrestle him in another guy named Eshi. But one thing they do, but he wrestles his shoes all the time in America. >> Okay, anyways, if Japan, Japan wrestling is treated very sport heavy, very sport heavy, sport first, they definitely have sports entertainment. They'd understand that it was very sport first. It's a great place to wrestle. I was very thankful. That's Roxanne. She's one of the brightest and youngest in WWE at the moment. She's got her jacket. When you go, you got to get your jacket. >> I mean, hell yeah, that's the far. >> If they don't give you the jacket, it's not good. >> It's a real, yeah, they don't give you the jacket. >> They're not giving the invite to the couch with Carson, right? >> Yeah, if you don't get the jacket, it's- >> They got to get your picture up there. >> Standing on the top rope. >> Right, godo on the outside right there. >> Wow. >> Who's this? This is the greatest moments. >> Oh, that's amazing. >> Last song, bro. >> This kind of feels like Mexican luchador. >> Can I just go to? >> Yeah, also. >> Young godo. >> But is this a rookie godo? >> This is a rookie, it's not bad. >> No, it's good. >> Put on weight to play. >> You haunted? >> How did- you were there the day? >> I was there, the phenomenal, right? And really, game like Katal again, going for-- - Game specific. - Game specific. - Yeah. - And there's been like clips of it from the trailer that you're seeing, but like Ryu and Ihan's fight scene is fucking, it was crazy. Did he have to put on weight or he was already big? - I mean, he's bigger than he is there, and then they also have to use like camera tricks to juxtapose size, 'cause Ihan is like a mythical figure in terms of his like size and satir. So they'll use camera tricks and then they maybe, maybe they put on a suit? - I didn't see him in the suit. I just saw him in like a shirt. - I'm hoping he's at the premiere. I feel like I got to get the picture with him. I haven't seen that guy. - You know we haven't talked about who? - Our boy. - It go. - Vigit, bro. - Yeah. - How could he not? - The goat. - True monk. - True monk. - Praying for us at that content event where the trailer was about to-- - It's amazing. - Wasn't it? - But he was just a fascinating guy. - Gosh, he's something. Look at that hair. Like, first of all, one of the most handsome guys ever is his body's absolutely shredded. Like, you even lean right now. Probably look like a dumpy fat piece of shit compared to him. (laughing) But, thanks. - But like, we would just grab dinner or whatever and just chat with him. - What? - What a fascinating fucking guy. - Where did you guys-- - It's Jackie Chan. - Where did you guys get into it? Was it, was proteins a myth? Where did you guys get into it? - Oh, it was a new thing every day. - Yeah, you were always asking bodies. - So how do you maintain this muscles and you have like, is like a vegan kind of, no meat diet or whatever. And he's like, yeah, protein to myth. And I was like, sorry, I sat again. - I think everyone left the first time we met him, everyone left, telling someone I left, and I called Brandy and I said, I think I've met the most handsome man that's ever been seen. And I even, you said to him when he came on for a little talkie-talkie on the weekend, which was nice that we did those, and then we'd shoot during the week. But you even said, oh, you're just dressed like this. - Bro, when I first met him, (laughs) this is embarrassing, and somebody else will tell this story in an even worse way. But when I first met him, he's like a fashiony guy. - Oh, yeah. - So he's wearing like, clogs with like a bone at the, holding your foot in it, like a whole thing. And I was like, oh, this is how they're doing dalsam. They're doing like a fashion forward. That's not even close to how fashiony he gets. - Mm-hmm, yeah. - I was like, this is how they're doing. I was like, oh, you're in costume. At this point, I don't even know if he speaks English to be completely honest. And he's a quiet guy until you open him up. So like-- - Oh, yeah. - Like, look at those shoes have like the Aladdin tips, right? So he just does anything. He's wearing a skirt. Like, anyway, the reason I thought it was dalsam is he had a necklace with skulls on it. - Yeah. - Didn't he give you that necklace? - He did. He gave me that, and he wrote a hand-written scroll and left it on my bus on my last day. And he gave two different shawls for-- 'cause my daughter was born while we were filming. - Yeah. - It's him to me, just the kindest, nicest. And he is an actual, I'd say that sounded like a joke, but he's a monk, correct? A practicing, the oldest form of martial art according to him, Colority Piot starts in India. And he's like 10 generations of his family has been practicing martial arts. He's also like the Jackie Chan of India. - So if you look up his stunt work, it's fucking unbelievable. - I admire your approach to having conversations about India with him, because as I've seen on the show, - Yeah. - You like to get into it. - Oh, hell, you like to get into it. And here you are talking to the expert, and Shultz just wasn't relenting. And his, your take on going to India, performing in India. - He kept his, he's like, you have to come. - Yes. - Show, come to us, we must come. We've got to do a little-- - Are you guys doing anything out there? - We always plan it. The last time they did something, they only did a live event. I think this was two years ago. And it's a scene on Seth, we're in a tag match together. And I know both of them said it was one of the loudest crowds ever that they'd ever been in front of in terms of energy. So going there would be amazing. His, his fighting style contrasted so nice with Orville. Orville, orville, they, what a pair. - So, Orville Park is a brilliantly talented musician. - Nobody knows who he looks like 'cause his whole career is at a mask on. - Yeah. - It is really K-Face. - Yes. - I have a picture of the night my daughter was born with you and him, and I never put the picture out, 'cause he doesn't have his mask on. - Oh, that's right. - I couldn't do it, I couldn't, I couldn't break K-Face. - That's fine. - So, but like, what I've always thought was cool about this is like, most people in this business get into it so that, I don't say most, but a lot of people, they wanna be famous, they wanna be known, they want the love. And like, he's intentionally not allowed himself despite his immense success to be known for what he looks like. At any point in time, you could take the mask off and then when you walk down the street, you're absolutely mopped. I'm sure they kind of clock him from tattoos and stuff now, but like-- - Also classic like Ray Mysterio where he's very handsome under the-- - Oh yeah. - Like, he's not high. - He's not hiding anything. - You're denying the world. - The guy on him has some fun shit. - He's bigger, right? - He's bigger. - He's also masked. - He is. - They fucking knocked it out. - Yeah. A big casting on this was, whenever I've seen any people questioning some of the casting choices, I'm thinking, man, if you had been on that set and seen how these fighting styles match up directly with the game itself and the more in the, you know, the 16-bit, 32-bit of fighting and how, oh, man. - For everybody. - Yeah. - Then they-- - A masked country condition. - Then you, what happened with me? Like, everybody has, like, some type of fighting background or something, and then-- - There he is, man. (laughing) - I might be the only person with a real fight on my record. - Yeah. - Oh, that's a good point. - No, I mean, I knew you had the answer. - That's a good point. - I said, "All right, all right, all right, all right, all right." - I was a good block out there. - I'm trying to think, no, Koji probably got a fighter, too. - He does, and you have-- You had-- I knew, 'cause I did my research on you, you had the paddle. You know, you were doing paddle, so he's an athleticism. For that character, it was there. - Hey, hey, he's replaced. - He wants to be a heal, what he's trying to do right now is come out of the closet or as a heal, okay? Just let him be who he truly is. It will be the greatest heal in the history of the sport. - You did how you were right there, shoulder to shoulder, with all the athletes on set doing athletics. - Are you an athlete? - Ah, I don't know. I've been an athlete my whole life, but I do think you-- - What names won an athlete? - That is a thing, man. What do you think? What makes won an athlete? - Like, if you could do three crossroads in a row. - I think-- (laughing) - Thank you. - I think athlete was, maybe the simplest way to check the box is, did you play sports growing up? - Oh, that's what you mean by that. - Like did you, and did you carry on after-- - You're a professional, though. - You're a professional, but do you look at it as-- - Art, do you look at the-- - I think it's the fun. - Played sports growing. - Yeah, everybody has to play sports. What I'm saying is, do you see yourself as art theater? Like is somebody who does ballet, for example? - An athlete. - Yes, I think they are. - So there's a joke and wrestling that's, now we don't say anymore, because it's inaccurate, but the joke used to be if you had a black eye or a herd of killies or something, you're hurt. - Yeah. - And one of the old timers being, "Hey, it ain't ballet, kid." And then you come to find out-- - Ballet is a tough issue. - Ballet is brutal. - It's a tough issue. - Your mind destroyed by the time of 25 total. - Yeah, we stopped using that way I was looking at it, but no, I-- - Now do you say, like, you're a paddle player? Is that what you say? - I'm looking at you because you fucking started this. - What? - You were playing at the time. - I didn't start it. You were talking about paddle every day. - Don't you? - Buddy, me. - Every day. - He told me to fucking pat down the wall or dunk on his sweat. - I swear I got paddle every day. - That's a good buddy. - Oh man. - How did you get cast? Like, did you have to audition? Did your agent just call you and say, "Hey, you want to be in Street Fighter?" - Oh, he was shoestown in the pool. - Yeah. - It was a great one. - There was a great one. - It was a great guy. - That gave me the thumbs up. I went to, it's very fun. I went to a meeting at legendary and Katow was already in Australia and Kale was there and Jay was there and Mary. - Wow. - K-Man. - You met the big boss. - I met the big boss. - The big boss. - They said we're going to wait for her and I'm not joking when she opened the door of it. Pavarotti was playing behind her just aura. And you could feel that. - For the uninitiated, who's Mary? - She just had a legendary. - She also got a crazy story. She's the reason that, what's that Leo movie, the Revenant? She might be the reason why that movie got finished. - Well, I don't want to put too much out, but she was brought in. - Wonderful. - She's a, and she's the real fucking deal, man. - And she was real firm about it. And I didn't know I was there. This was going to sound crazy. I was there for a general meeting. - General meeting. - Bullshit. - They knew. - They knew. - But you were like, yeah, maybe we could work there. - Well, yeah, they can't bring you in. - Like, hey, we're going to catch you for this movie. - I was there for a general meeting, I thought. And I was very excited. Cause they had legendaries making everything, right? So I'm just excited to be there. - Legendaries, dude, Minecraft. - Yeah. - They did digger, the Tom Cruise movie. - Yeah. - And we'll be coming out. - And general meetings are like super based level. - Yeah. - They always get to know each other. - You don't even know who's going to show up. There's always something, Mary's not shown up for a general. - No. - Unless she thinks you're getting cast. - She just, she told me and then Kale took over. She said, we really like you for Guile. And that's one of the first things that was said. So I'm, you know, oh man, I grew up playing this game. Love this. And oh my gosh, I'm already kind of in my head on this. We really love you for Guile. But it was nice. She was really direct in terms of, we know Joby to be. That's what you do. [BLANK_AUDIO] to be champion at the time. I think I was going to be champion. He said, um, just make sure these dates work. We can't mess with the dates at all. These guys need you for X amount and boom, left. So in the next thing, you know, we were talking as I was already guile. So I feel like I was in that meeting and I'll never forget it. I even asked the room to, hey, give me just a second here, because I needed a second. Um, but after I left, it was one of those, you know, just classic pursuit of, you know, happiness, like just, just a moment of, oh my gosh, this is incredible. And I hope he doesn't mind sharing, but he very, uh, maybe the most famous wrestler ever in the, the history of our game. I don't want to drop his name because they always get clicked out when I drop his name. He called me and just said, good meeting, huh? So he knew. Wow. And I felt like I was the only one who did this. There's a legendary wrestler that also acted in some kind of, yeah. I mean, we could probably, you know, get there real quick. Yeah. But it blew my mind. Who are you thinking? If you had to think, who are you thinking? Might be go to might be, it might have been go to go. You would know. Go to would have been a great call. Go to the sun. A great call. I would have loved to, uh, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know how you're 118 haunchies though. I mean, haunchies technically, you know, Hong Kong, but whatever it is, I assume it's, it's the rock. But I know you can't talk about it. You know, but that's who I would assume. He's a great, it was a great wrestler's full time in the actor. Oh, shit. The rock. It was great. It could be the fucking rock. It was a great moment. Did you call you again recently? My chance for any other news? I did want to bring us up because I, I think it's fresh news. And we would beat around it. But congratulations to you, but I'm not going to be. I'm really free. She feels good. I don't want to be negative. But your first time on a movie said, what is the worst part of making a movie? Worst part? Yeah. I mean, it's probably stereotypical to some of the stuff you hear, but a lot, there's a lot of waiting around. Yeah, the town time. Yeah, full makeup, full hair. Yeah, that heavy wind spray painted every day because you got the tattoos. Yeah. And then just sitting around. Yeah, a lot of waiting around. And did they cover up this tattoo? Oh, yeah. I feel like I'm gonna fit, you know. Yeah, that would they covered it up. And then Kyle has two tats. And I don't know if anyone spotted the, you know, the US, the stars and stripes. So I was on the one, the one bicep, but on the other one, take a look in the trailer. It's a little deeper. You know, it's, it's nice, especially around that time period and the prototypical self planes we were making and things of that nature. But I like to do a little, a little tattoo. Would you get that tattoo? By the way, it's been a minute. Gosh, like before wrestling. No, I got it mid-wrestling and it was, which one neck neck. Why am I hearing recently? You're like regret getting this tattoo. I tell because you're not a rapper. I tell people. So I have a take on this. So I would be curious you are. No, no, take him. You go first. No, no, it's your house, man. No, but you're the guests. Thank you. My, I tell people. Yeah. I like the art and the logo has been incredibly prolific for me because it became a brand and the wrestling space for me. It's, it's everywhere. People get the tattoos now that people get derivative versions of the tattoo, their own form of the skull, this great stuff. But the size of the tattoo was always jarring to me. I still can't make it out there. What's on the arm? I don't know if it's this one, is it? It's that arm. It's that arm. Oh, that's the arm. That's what it was when I got out and saw it in the mirror. I knew, oh, my gosh, it's almost technically a face tattoo because it was in my jaw. You know, it was, it was, it was up there. So the size, we even sell temporary tattoos at WWE and they're little and kids just put them right on their neck. They're little. So here, here's more what I was going to be. Here's my take off. I should have known. Yeah, so you could have upset a lot of art. And I'm about to, I'm about to change, not change the logo because we can't change the tattoo. But for the first time ever, the, the way the American Nightmare, exactly this logo, which is on everything we do, I'm going to, it's going to be a wolf skull. Let's turn with the wings out to the side because I just lost my husky pharaoh after almost 16 years. I'm going to give him, I'm going to give him a little, a run and see that logo and just turn it side profile husky wolf, dire wolf type looking thing. See what they come up with. But it should be pretty cool. Okay. That's sad. Yeah, did I bring it down? No, you didn't bring it down. We have to, we have to be real obviously. What I like about the tattoo. Okay. It made you pot committed. So I remember the first time seeing you, even if I saw you like in a suit or a host in some game show or some shit, this is before I knew who you were. You were like, host in some game show. Go big show with Bert. Yeah. And it was like, I saw the necktie and I was like, Oh, he's not using this as a stepping stone as something else. Yeah. He fucking is this. Oh man. And I didn't know anything. I mean, I remember, I'm the casual wrestler. If I know anything about wrestling, I've asked you Sam Roberts, Santi or Sancho or Chris Van Vlich. CBB. These are the people. If I know, if anything, I say in wrestling has come from one of those four sources. But I remember just seeing you and be like, Oh, he's not like pretty boy, like bleach blonde hair trying to do something else. Like he has committed himself to wrestling. Yeah. So I actually think that the size works. Hey, it's, it's been great for me in the wrestling space for sure. It is, but I just, the size was always the part that was a bit jarring. But to your point, I've done this since I was 15. Yeah. And I think after 30, there are plenty of wrestlers. And you mentioned this. Some people just want to be famous. Some people want the love. Not knocking any of them. Nobody using the first stepping stone would get a that big a tattoo. Right. I wanted it to be something that was synonymous and something that was shared amongst. I was in this space where I didn't really want to wear anyone else's brand. I wanted to try and become my own. And, you know, ambition in certain circles is heavily encouraged. And then in other places in wrestling, you know, they don't, they don't want you to. Yeah. But I always was a go big, you know, shoot for the moon. And then we went big. And I, I don't know if I have to tell you this, but rock famous for the Brahma Bull on his arm. And now it's all covered, but the Brahma Bull and Connor McGregor at the time who's doing so well box office for UFC had the big lion on his chest. So I felt it was either going to be spine or our neck. And I went neck just to try and compete in that box office type space. And it was, I did it the day before I wrestled. So people couldn't fathom that it was even real. One day I had it, the next day, full match. And there's this giant. You know, it's a pop committed. That's what I saw. How could you not be? Before I ever saw you wrestle, I think I saw it. Right. Pro wrestling in sports entertainment is such a great business. And you're saying pot committed. Yeah, pot, like, how could you, like right now, ESPN Netflix, we only want committed. But this is before that, you're doing this before these huge deals are made. Let's be honest. Yeah, but I, I had always thought in my mind, I had always hoped and thought wrestling was, was heading for the greatest. It goes in ups and downs. You know, the late 90s it's culturally pop culture so relevant with the attitude era. But the attitude era does not necessarily last so long. It's super super hot versus it goes like this goes like this. And lately, and we even talked about that time of Sammy and the bloodline and everything that they were doing, it's they went up and it stayed. It stayed when we heard these earnings reports from TKO recently. And there we are like the lead dog. I'm not trying to, you know, pat us on the back. It's, it's really permeating everywhere, especially with young audiences. So what you're great. All right, guys, take a break for a second. Obviously, we have no clue what's going to happen this season. Football's great. You too. Come on. Talk to me. It's New York all day. OK. Giants. We just lost our quarterback. OK. I believe in the backup. You believe in Jamis? If that's his name, I believe in him. OK. Yes. What are the giants that I don't call she right now? I think there's not even a bet available for them to win the Super Bowl. Shit. Let's go. That's supposed to be it. Hold on. Trade available for them to win the Super Bowl. That's the place we love to be. So you want to be in this position? Most upside. Did they ever think the Nick suit would win a championship? We did. Exactly. We believed. Giants. So you own Giants over Jess? I'm long on Giants. Wow. And they're-- like literally, you can't even trade on them right now. Is that what I'm seeing? No, you can't. You can, but nobody's even accepting it? No, you can't. Why is it a negative 1%? Oh, they don't share negative percentages? Less than 1%. Wow. OK, so that's the most upside. Damn. The most upside. We got this. All right, so let's do it. You believe. Listen, I've undefeated a Calci, so I'm not going to put my money where my mouth is right now on a Giants, but I like that world. I like that world where James carries them. And then maybe Jackson comes back into the regular season. And if it's not Giants, is Buffalo still New York? We'll take it. Where's Buffalo at? Your favorite at 13. All right, so New York. New York. New York. New York. New York. Jay. Let's get back to the show. What did you do in the downtown? Were you playing video games? So we did. He's fucking smokes a car. He's playing video games. He was trailing on the little trailer park we had. I thought more people would come by and play with me, but I had the classic collection. Because you got to get all the carriages in the movie. I needed the full classic collection, which not just two, not just Turbo, not just World Warriors. You need Alpha. If you're going to get Dan, his character, you need Alpha. And then you skipped to six, which just came out. And we had the director of six on the set, the shepherd of the franchise, right? Yeah, I was far. And he came and played with me. Did you play him? I did. Did you play him? No. I beat him. No, you did not. I beat him. I have it on video. On the cabinet or in modern six, where it's supposed to be played on the cabinet. Yes. Okay. Backstay. With Dan. With Dan. As Dan. And he was playing super like, he thought he was going to work me because I'm Dan. I lured him into my trap. And you did it. Honeypot. Honeypot. Is it? Yes. And I got a lot of honey in here. Okay. So, when he played me, he was not kind. Yeah. He probably just finished, you know, he shredded me to almost just barely got anything in. Definitely. All I was trying to do was get the students of BTS, too, so I was trying to get a sonic boom in. Did you play as Guile? Yes. Yeah. But as a kid, I played as Ryu a lot because he's the most neutral character. And Ryu, you get to learn, but as I got older, I loved Guile. I very much. Did you see what he just did? What? The way that he insults through kindness is unbelievable. I didn't catch that. Yeah. I played with Ryu because he's the most like neutral character. And then, and then he elevates his character. No. Guile is a character that's pick up and you, you don't even realize you're doing it. He'll. Okay. But I mean, what's going to play as Dan? Like the Dan character is really hard to play with. Dan here is very hard to play with. And notoriously, the gaming community as Dan is the joke character. Right. It says on Wikipedia, his stance is a weak character and it's emphasized in Turbo, where Dan's a hidden character that's extremely easy to beat because he only drops red counter gems. Okay. Well, from Wikipedia, I'm just reading what we've obviously given us the technical specs here. Which I think is helpful for the game. Yeah. Guile, the only thing that Guile does as you get, it's a little bit better for an older kid, I'd say, because Guile, you have to hold the buttons down, the inputs down for a second versus re you and the neutralness of it all. Yeah. You just put the combos together and there you go. Keep using that word. You got a Hadoo, you know. You kept using that word neutral. Yeah, and neutral, the meaning he is the first character you pick up and play and everyone can play with him. Are you trying to say easiest? I'm sorry. Maybe neutral is not. Let me correct myself. Balanced. I don't want. The most balanced character. I don't want you to crack yourself when you're beat. I think it was a shield. I think it was a healed thing for me to say neutral when I should have said balanced. Balanced is another like who wants to be balanced? Like I'm such a balanced individual. Hey, should we hang out with Tom? He's so balanced. We're talking about the characters in the game. Yeah. Just a game. Yeah, we're just talking about a view. Why does anybody want to be balanced? You're taking it so personally. Yeah, you're taking it personally. That's the Dan character. I'm glad you won. I'm glad you won in yours though. That's great. I did not. I did not win in mine. Kudos to you. He dog walked me twice for the BTS people and everything. I know. All right. There we go. We got that on camera. Yeah. The Guile character is like really good. Shut up. I'm saying in the game. It's like video games. Can you watch the animated series or the anime before we do that and go to the anime? Can you go to do watching these guys that play a three fighter the video game? Have you watched any of the game itself? Can you go to Evo 37? Three fighter. Evo 37. Oh, he's like the professional major. I don't know if you know like Maximilian and Kenny and all. There's so many guys who are very deep into this gaming community. Oh, frame rate. They cover their plan on a different level than just pick a play. Hey, bro. You've got to one up me with mine. Did I jump in? Did I jump in? Did I jump in? I was just trying to throw up. You know what? Tell me about Evo. What is Evo? What is Evo? What is Evo? Tell me about Evo. I got it. What's Evo? What a deal thing to do. I know more about the gaming community than you do. I just said you know some of these guys. I think they're going to be at the bottom of this one. If you just want to see real athletes, okay? Oh boy, and this is Evo 37. Yeah. Don't you do it. Don't you do it? You do it again. Oh, block, block, block, and not just block counter in each one. Listen to the pop. Yeah. That's a big one. Oh, wow. So it's not just a block. I think it's a parry as well. So you're not just blocking. You're doing a move into it. That might be the greatest thing that's ever happened online for Street Fighter outside of this movie coming out. You're going to see, I feel like some of these guys and not trying to take your story here. Some of the guys who have competed at Evo had the premiere. You might see him in the movie as well. Yeah, you might see him in the movie. Oh, yeah. All right. The effort to do right by the gaming community was definitely there. Coming in the trailer, the little scene with the trash can being thrown is the scroll up the building and the original open to Street Fighter. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They went for it, man. Yeah, yeah. Was any of the original Street Fighter gaming team there? You mentioned like the Shepherd of the franchise, but like we're the game developers or anyone else involved in the crew. Man, Capcom rolled deep. So yeah, they pulled up. Yeah. I would say so with translators and everything like full on Japanese. Yeah. And they were having a good time. Oh, yeah. Yeah. They're in the director. The guy you played is in it. He got a little cameo. He got a little cameo with guitar. I think you spoil. Yeah, guitars in there. That's boilers on this part of the day. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. But I mean, it's cool with you though, because he producer, so I call the producer and see if it's okay if you do that. It's called let's call. Let's call. I was over here going to call. We were talking about this kale. The kale is a, he's a cold face timer. Oh, you don't do that. No. Oh, the cold face. Are you guys cold face? No, no. How can you do that? That's crazy. That's the one. Yeah. Yeah, cold face time. But wait, why would you not call face time? You're doing it right. I just think that's really aggressive. Yeah. He's going to be in a bath right now. I think he's in London right now. Oh, my gosh. He's there. Nice. Hey. You guys. How are you? Hey, guys. Is it true that we're all over double-decker buses in London? Yes. Oh, that's so cool. Hey, guys, Cody's announced that he's, he's, he's become a heel on this podcast. I haven't announced anything. He's announced it. No, no news. It's coming from the pot other than Scholz and Achilles injury from panel. Okay. That's where you're going. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. nothing but balance. [ Laughter ] Nothing will bound. Okay. Listen, we love you guys, man. Just wanted to check it. Bye. Bye, fellas. Dang, man. Cold FaceTime, you just joined the club there. But the cold FaceTime is the best way to connect because a FaceTime feels important. FaceTime feels important. Cold FaceTime. Yeah. But if you call FaceTime, it's a guaranteed, oh, shit, something's happening. I got to answer this. Also, if a guy picks up on a cold FaceTime, that's a real one, right? What do you mean? If you're picking up on a cold FaceTime for somebody no matter what you're going through, you got to be a real one. I had a wet dream last night. Okay. What is going on? What is going on? What is going on? What is going on? No, I didn't. You're doing that. That's like a cold FaceTime. How? Walk me through that. Man, it was. Wait. Like, you're in the dream and someone is shy. I had a weird wrestling dream last night. Wait, you got a wrestling dream? I always have wrestling dreams. And I had a really weird one last night. Can I guess? Yeah, go ahead. Live Morgan and Ray Ripley. No, it wasn't a, it wasn't that type of dream. Oh, God. Oh, God. It was a wrestling dream. It wasn't a, it wasn't a wet dream at all. Yeah. A wrestling dream. I was a wrestling dream. Yeah. A little wrestler. So, yeah. Yeah. It was a classic. It's actually, these happen a lot. Usually you don't have your boots tied and your music's playing. It's one of those. It's one of those. But this one was, I was backstage talking to the guy that I was wrestling and then randomly the match before me, which was a CM Punk match of all matches. They announced cold to the audience. And I was unaware of this that they now had a street fight, which the rest of the dream part of me was like, oh, man. Now we got to follow a street fight. Is it very strange? What does that mean a street fight? Basically, it meant, oh, they're going to have all the toys, all the bells and whistles. It was a very odd dream to have. But the fact that I still dream about wrestling scenarios and things like that, we were like, oh, now what are we doing? I woke up thinking, dang, man, they're going to have a better match than us, which was really not a real scenario. Is there anything, okay, what? Is there anything you still want to accomplish in the wrestling space? Yeah. Like, what have you not done? Oh, I haven't won money in the bank. And I potentially Friday could get my bid into money in the bank. So that's a New Orleans Roman versus LA Knight. It's a big match as well plus the money in the banks. I haven't won money in the bank. And I think the only other title on the board for WWE is the United States title, which I don't think will probably ever happen in my career. But those are things. I think the things that haven't been done, not to sound grand or vague or both, are things we haven't seen coming yet. All right. There's this cool thing in wrestling that I, again, total casual. Sam Roberts. Sam Roberts. Sandy, listen, Sam Ross, Sandy and, and, and Sandra and Chris, CVV. CVV. Have you had him on the pod? No, but we should talk. Yeah, he'd like him. All those guys. But I've seen a cool thing as a casual in wrestling where guys who are older feel responsibility to put on the next generation. Even though these guys are not invested in the mother company, right? Like maybe some guys are and they go on to work for it, but like they're not necessarily like shareholders. No. They're shareholders of wrestling as an idea. Yeah. And like obviously we've heard stories of like wrestlers who maybe didn't want to do it. But there are a lot of wrestlers who have really been generous with it. Oh my gosh. And so I have two questions. One is like, why is that? Why is there this? It's really benevolent. It's like recognizing you're kind of like at the end of your run. And instead of just going out into blazing, I'm going into my room. It's so funny that you're in security speaking right now. I wasn't going to point at that at all. Real heel attack. I wasn't. Yeah. No, but like I saw with like, again, I'm on the outside like Brock and, uh, and Oba. Like it seemed like Brock was like. So really trying to put them over. It was like beautiful. You saw with John. Like it was like really trying to put guys over. So what you'll probably see is it's an area where we're more like sports than we realize. Because for an outside person to come in and look, they would probably wonder why do you care about what they do in match one. Why do you care if they stay to watch the dark match? Why do you care to give them a note on how to approach this personal appearance? Because like you said, nobody is, I don't run the company. I'm not a shareholder in the company. It's always been that way. The locker room has a when I said I was a little siloed up. That's the part that I miss a bit is being able to say, hey, maybe my two cents do this. My two cents. Think of it this way. There's no answer, but it's a lot like when you see a veteran quarterback guiding along that draft pick. You're back up. It doesn't have a ego about it. Right. I'm going to be, yeah. Right. It's in one of the things I learned late in wrestling is it's far more fair than you realize, even for show business. If you work the hardest and John was the one who taught everybody this. Yeah, you're going to be in the main spot. You're going to be the boss's favorite. You're going to be on all the posters and all the assets. And you're going to be the hood ornament for the company. I mean, not just because you were picked because you picked yourself as well and you did all the hard work. So when you find people like that, because right now we've got a wonderful top shelf at WWE. Wonderful. And I went on the breakfast club and they asked me, is it a little old? As the way they said it and I tried to be like, well, it's, you know, seasoned. It's experienced. But to that, the efforts have now been made to let's find who's next. But it isn't, you can't do it overnight, it's wrestling takes and fans don't love this. And I'm not trying to, to me, fans are never wrong. But for someone to be truly over, over, not just get a pop, not just get a reaction for truly be over where they can't go out of their house. So somebody will be like, hey, you're such and such. Hey, and want to be them and want to touch them and want to know them. It takes time. You've got to be in front of the audience all the time. You've got to be hidden your finish. You have to be doing the things that Brock was explaining to me. You have to, you have to do them every, it's a, it's a, it's a very strange thing. And, you know, the only person I'd say that really, I think set it in stone. There's two people that at WWE have set it in stone where it has to be you help somebody out. Like, I have a guy who I want, the office thing come to me. And I said, I'm going to keep an eye on him. I'm going to, I'm going to keep an eye because I think that could be. You have that now, you're saying? I have that now. I think that could be a WrestleMania opponent. Who's that? I don't want to say because it, if it turns out to be a WrestleMania match. Oh, this is like in real time now. Now we're just breaking all the rules, but triple H and the undertaker who are both in positions of creative leadership now were really big on making the attempts. And not just once, more than once, because when you're young, it's like, yeah, you do love it. You do, you have the bug for it. But also your, it's not, I don't know, maybe you don't live and breathe by it yet. Maybe that's like the bug gets you and then another bug gets you when you pass 30. And the next thing you know, all you think about is this and trying to get as many people there to be part of this performance. But they were very big on every match. Well, you could have tried this, could have tried this and not just learn from what you do. They would pull you aside and talk to you. That's still W2B. And I'd love to mention him because Seth is the biggest one who does that now. I watch, but I watch kind of as we go. There it is. I saw something I might mention a few later, Seth sits in front of the monitor for everything. Everything, which is crazy because then he goes out and performs at a high level himself, which to me is. It's a lot. It's a lot of bandwidth in one day. I don't know if I have that bandwidth. Seth is phenomenal at identifying young talent. And he'll try. That's the big thing. Try once, try twice hell, even try three times. After a while, if they're not going to get it or if they're not interested, then you can move on. But wrestling big on, you know, especially when they're young. Because look at the young right now at WWE. Fobo you mentioned. Jaron. Jaron. Jaron. Soules. Stric Williams. Stric Williams. Stric Williams. There's so much. So much. Trick. Youth. And that's going to be the next generation. And they have to grow up with the audience. Dom. You can get Dom on here. Yeah. Dom is fire. Yeah. Dom to me. I make this joke all the time. Dom is the fire. I make that joke about him and Solo Succo all the time. But I make it because they really are. They may not be the guys march in orders and say they pick up the locker room, right. Don't do that. But Dom and Solo are in the locker room. Yeah. They're feeling it. They have a kinship with everyone. And there's two. Jacob's phenomenal. Jacob's phenomenal, man. And I've known him. I did an indie show all pro wrestling in NorCal. And Jacob was backstage at those shows. This is back in the day. Yeah. And Jacob's had a heck of a road to get to the spot. Okay. So let me. So the challenge is. So then let me ask you this. As a complete casual. And if I didn't name a bunch of young people, I apologize. I know this is a dirty thing. Yeah. Well, it's like. Why didn't you name me a lot of love? But. Okay. So we're at a point where we have guys that are in like, let's say like the back half of their prime. Right. Carrying. WWE. See them punk. Yeah. Okay. You don't think so? Well, the way you're wording it, you're doing to me. You're, you're, you're loading it. Is that bad to say that? Like that? I don't know. I don't, because wrestling is prime. best would say they're in their prime. I don't love that back half you threw in there. I've been around you for two hours and I'm already a scumbag. That's this is what happens when I don't do it. So, all right, all right. So we have guys that are in in their prime. Yeah, hell yeah. Okay, you're in your prime. I would say so. Yeah. Definitely not the back half, but not the front half. You're lean. So it looks like there might be other that's just in the prime. Why don't we say the middle of their prime? Sounds great. We're in the middle of our prime. That's so much better. Yeah. The middle right of their prime. Okay. I heard it all. Go ahead. Yeah. So just like a little bit more than their prime, but also in their prime. Okay. Yeah. What do you, how do you like your steak? Medium? Medium. Oh, you like a medium? I'm a medium guy. Yeah. You don't go medium rare. You're the first guy I ever heard order medium plus. No, it's medium rare plus because people order the plus. I, I don't know. I don't know about the plus. Well, I would say you're medium plus. Okay. I'm medium plus on the stage. Where is this going? When the point, the point that I'm trying to make is you have all these guys that are, let's say in their prime, you, Rollins, Roman, CM Punk. Who else? Who are, who are like the guys that we are so familiar with? We've been familiar with for a decade carrying this industry. Becky Lynn, Charlotte Flair. I mean, we did so, this is out there teaching the next generation, but you mentioned Roman, you mentioned Seth, the punk. Those are, you know, three great. It's a lot of great faces. Okay. Yeah. Amazing people carrying the industry. At a certain point in time, in our lifetime, we're going to see guys getting put over. Yeah. Like I remember, and again, I don't know much, but I remember like being younger, watching like a Triple H, for example, and maybe he was just so famous young. So by the time he's in his prime. Yeah. Like I remember seeing like lose WrestleMania. Oh, yeah. And it's like, this is one of the biggest guys in the business, losing at WrestleMania. To me with I see that is like an investment in the next generation. Is that a fair assessment? Sure. So often that, I mean, you're saying putting over and often that means laying on your back for that next person. And you know, the, the better ways and the, as you grow and you're not really a casual guy, you know, a lot of the terms. The best way I'd say is when there's a difference between doing the job, putting somebody over and doing the honors. And you see the honors. Doing the honors is just when you really are doing everything you can to say it's yours. Who's done it the best? Doing the, what were the guys that have done it the best? Doing the honors. I mean, John, obviously. I think John probably will go down because he's spent an entire year doing the honors. He didn't just pick one. Yeah. He took a bet on a few, you know, he definitely did more than just doing the favor. It was, he did the honors. And that's, that's the way you want to do it, right? Okay. Well, man, I mean, you mentioned Triple H, Triple H is a great example. Gosh, probably all your faves to undertake. Takeer, probably. Great, you know, like, you know, and sometimes there's a selfishness to it as well because you go so long until it's time. Are there guys that like we've heard stories about like Hogan or whatever, other guys that didn't want to let go? I'd say 99.9% of wrestlers, perhaps don't want to let go. And it's when you have, you maintain that the Bret Hart thing was, I'm not going to get into wrestling with shadows with you, but you know what? I'm not, I'm not. It's the only thing even off camera that you maintain is that is the business. I mean, there was a camera crew back stage, but okay. Anyways, you know, when we were completely by ourselves, he'd be like, I was the business man, like, right, right. And well, Sean is uniquely the king of, and he's one of the reasons he was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up, uniquely the king of saying, okay, they might think this whole show is fictional, but what I do tonight won't be. And there are two prime examples that both of these examples, and I won't say which people are like, all that match fell apart. That was, they, that, they're really hot at each other. Oh, no. And both of them to me, and I'm not, he, he's the master. So I don't know. I don't know if I'm wrong. So you're saying you are falling victim to, I don't know if I'm right. But I know both of those to me, I think. And also, I had the little bit of inkling of a nudge from my dad to like, I don't know. It seems like they used what was there. You know, now we use social media. Now we use, you always use what's there. What's the thoughts? What's, what are they saying in the garden? Garden used to be the example of an arena that shattered because they, they were the epicenter of WWE, WWF, WWF. So if there was something up, they would have known the curtain call when that happens. They knew that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were leaving. So they responded. That's why there's a big reaction when they all hug at the end of the night. They knew Goldberg and Lesnar when they were about to leave early. And there's Austin. So they treated that match as such with how they reacted. The same way you use your tools in, you use your tools now. So I just think Sean is the greatest example of, well, they'll they'll think what I did is real. Screw everything out. They'll think what I did is real. And to this day, there's two examples of, oh no, but that was a shoot, brother. Or was it just, do we even need to know? Was it just magic? Was it just magic? And maybe we want to believe the magic. Oh yeah, I just told you about Haku in that moment. Maybe I'm just the prime candidate, the prime mark to believe the magic. Have you ever explained a magic trick to someone? No. Like whenever you show somebody how a magic trick is done, the greatest disappointment rests on their face. Oh my gosh. Yeah, you know, yeah. And it's like, we want to believe it's magic at our core. We want to know the truth. Yeah. But more than the truth, we actually want to believe it's magic because believing in something is more exciting than kind of knowing it boring truth. Sure. I like, but here's Sean. Sean explains you the magic trick and then does a different trick. That's what Sean Michael. Sean Michael. Oh, here's the magic trick. Oh, well, something else happens. That I think he's probably is he the great showman of it. I mean, it's so hard. I think the last time when I came on here, I didn't know you well enough. And I made a, I may have fell into the trap of answering the the mountainous thing. But I can tell you, Sean is one of one in what he did. Hogan is one of one in what he did. There's, it's very hard to classify who was the greatest because it's different barometers. You, you, you can get a real cut and drive. Most wrestlers are going to cut and dry who sold the most tickets. Yeah. That's, that's, that's not the answer fans want. That's the one they get mad at when fightful clips it or. But this is also like with comedians. It's like, there's who sells the most tickets. But then there's also like, who believes it the most? Right. Yeah. I don't know. There's a Sean Michael's a comedy. I mean, we asked the, what did you ask? This is a, this is like a, this is something Mark brought up to me. Yeah. And they were like, they found comedy equivalents for people. Yeah. And they, what was it? Chat? Yeah. It's hard to chat, GPT about it. Yeah. So chat said I was. And I was super excited about that stuff. Yeah. Chat GPT said you were the Sean Michael. They basically, like, who was the comedic equivalents? I have it here from when I pulled it up. This is, we did this in May. It's all new. I said, if every famous comedian was a wrestler, who would they be? And it's, it gave us some grievance. Instead, Shane Gillis, it's Stone Cold Steve Austin, which you see that. I see it. Totally. Like, blood by dudes, like wandering into fame by accident is how it seems, but Shane is really one of the best in the business. Amazing. phenomenal. Can I, can I give it, can I say something about Shane that I need to go off my chest? Please. I am a huge fan of Shane, as you know, because I was like, watching tires with my T-Rex glass. I'm excited, right? I love Shane, but when I went to do Shane's podcast, it almost feels like it's a trap. The production on that podcast for a guy who is printing money and who is exceptional at everything. He had me sitting on a couch that I sunk into. And he's got the good chair and it's wired mics. What am I doing? It's totally, yeah. I thought he was trapped. I thought he was maintained a K-Fave, bro. I'm trying to, man. Yeah. I mean, it was such an honor to be on the show and I met his roommate who he made me go in his room in the middle of the day, which was an incredible experience in itself. Lamar. Lamar, yeah. Lamar is my boy. Lamar is my boy. When did his room? What do you mean? He was like, go surprise Lamar. And he was, yeah, Lamar was the wrestling expert that day. And he was playing is, I mean, it was a roach in the ashtray. There's clothes everywhere. Open laptop on the bed. You know, I mean, well, why would that be then? No, I mean, you know, like a lot going on from you just to bust like, you know, your buddy here. But I love my experience. But I laughed when I walked out of there thinking, man, all great this guy's doing. Yeah. And he wired mics. And he had me sinking in that couch. And I almost felt like I was meant to say, hey, can I get another chair? But that's like a trap. Maybe that's also a fire about it. That's the matter. He keeps it the exact change. He's awesome though. Yeah. But how would Stone Cold do? Would Stone Cold have like crazy fancies to do? Whatever would you be on his ranch on a horse? Have you been on the Broken Skull session? No, but do you understand how on his ranch? That's literally when the wind is blowing. You hear the tin on the roof. But isn't that, man? Yeah. And then it's said, as much as I hate to say, shoulder Shawn Michaels. Here's just a vacation. It's a real piece. No, I'm just trying to find his flashy, cocky, great hair era obsessed with performance for you can be annoying if you're not bought in, but undeniable if you are. And those where every camera is is aware of how hot it is, which is both the bit and the problem. Oh my god. >> The big and the problem. The big and the problem. That is definitely a great. >> That's what he's saying. >> He's on the negative of it though. >> But you would, you would just be measurable. >> It's not even about good and bad. >> But it's not even about your negative. You would see someone else's negative and you would latch onto it. >> I think this is all a fly to get. >> He had me read an entirely positive breakdown there. There was nothing negative about that. >> Yeah, but you found it. >> No, I'm just saying that your talent is so ready to heal. >> He's the bit, right? >> The bit and the problem. >> Anyway, I'm always loved Sean. >> Yeah, he's phenomenal. >> But because he makes me believe. And I give CM Punk that same thing where it's like, I believe he believes, if you told me right now CM Punk doesn't know it's scripted. >> One of Punk's greatest gifts is being so prepared that when he approaches anything, maybe it will go differently. He already knew which way we could take this. But I'll give you a prime example. We did a tag match in the garden recently, and out of nowhere, I looked over and he's punched in Sami Zayn in the face already, and the match is what we call started hot. >> So we've just made a massive decision in the world's most- >> Without anybody knowing, without just his instinct. >> So he's going on five. He's like, this is what this needs. >> I learned from our interactions. And I think we probably have a few more dances together. I still learn, so I mean, you're always learning, but I still learn directly from him. >> Directly from him. He's like Sean, who in Sean's like you. >> I'm going to hurt you one day. >> It was hoax. >> Do you want to know? >> Is it all so short? >> It's so short. >> This is stretch of the imagination. This is Joe Cpt. >> That's the one who asked. >> If you want to know, this is what ChachiBT said. >> Yeah. >> Said, "Hole Cogan is Joe Rogan." Massive cultural figure, films and ecosystem, loyal believers, haters, supplements, catchphrases, and the brother universe. His comedy style is physical curious and intense. >> Yeah, everyone got wealthy. The Joe. I mean, that's the whole thing. >> That is with Hogan. >> Honestly, that's a great, yeah. >> And I think this taker, the undertaker, the undertaker is Dave Chappelle. >> Yes. >> Mythical. >> Yes. >> Enteres the room. The whole arena changes. It doesn't need to be as fast because he has an aura that does so much of the work when he talks. Everyone treats it like scripture. >> This is good. >> I do notice when I watch anything, Chappelle, it's fun because he may not be telling a joke. >> I thought you said, "David Tell." >> Chappelle. >> I guess that works. >> But it's a tell. >> You think it's more a tell? >> Yeah, it's fun. >> To me, Chappelle, to your point though, everything, so much has been done growing up, watching the Chappelle, so much has happened that he's made you laugh and entertain you. Everything he does, you're plugged into. Even if you find out 10 minutes later, oh, he's just directly telling a story that's not a joke. >> Right. >> Right. >> He has his aura. >> You're so plugged into to what he's saying. >> Massive holding attention, yeah. Isn't that the hardest thing? >> It is. >> And that's fun to take it. >> He'll just stand there. >> Yeah, there's, yeah. >> Somebody said this, they're like, I think it was known from the cellar. It's like, it was a Chappelle, and then Howard Stern have a unique ability to just talk and you listen. >> Yeah. >> And I never really thought about that with Howard, because I think you get caught up in the antics with Howard when you reflect back. >> How did you miss that era? >> You were young for it. We were young for it as well. Like our parents were kind of listening to like this. But at the end of the day, it's like you can't have a girl sit on a vibrator on the radio all day. You're filling three and a half other hours and you just need to talk and have people just hang on every word. >> Yeah. >> And some people have that. >> But if you tell me like, oh, there's this massive legal case or this culture of the vent and Chappelle waiting on it. >> Yeah. >> I'll listen. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And like, maybe it's funny, maybe it's serious, but like, I'm going to tune in. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> But there are so many other good ones. >> Who's Cody? >> Who's I in there at all? >> Give me a carotop. >> They're like carotop is Cody. >> King of props, right? >> Yeah, exactly, yeah. >> I'm curious what you think of this. >> This again comes from chat GPT. And I don't like to talk about communities within that I hear. But this is what it says. Cody Rhodes, the equivalent, is John Mulaney. >> Okay. >> Clean suit, legacy energy, polished theatrical sincere. A little too perfect until life cracks the porcelain and makes him even more interesting. And has a big finish the story energy. >> Yeah, I'm totally about that. >> I like that. >> And Mulaney had his heel turn with the crack of the porcelain, you know? >> Well, the crack of the porcelain, you know? >> Yeah, but what's most interesting, I think, is the crack of the porcelain in terms of some of that Hayman is really big on with TV in general is character development. Black and white is fun. >> Who'd you want you to be? >> I don't think I had one. I honestly was actually, I did have one. >> Who would you want me to say? >> Say it! >> I want to make sure I get his name right. >> You don't know his name? >> No, but he's all over my algorithm. >> We can fix it if you get a wrong. >> Well, just tell me then, and then we won't fix it. But he's all over my algorithm. >> We can believe it. >> Incredibly, incredibly well-dressed. Uniquely presenting British comedian. >> Super well-educated as well. >> Jimmy Carr. >> Jimmy Carr. >> Jimmy Carr. >> Dude, that's not the car. >> Talking about Jimmy. >> Jimmy Carr talking about straight-up fiction and non-fiction 1800. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Deeply read. >> Yeah. >> But also heroes' journey. He did this whole explanation on Star Wars and the heroes' journey. >> It doesn't have Jimmy Carr in here. But I actually think that that's sort of what's John Lennon and Jimmy Carr are not. >> I won't. >> I'm very happy with John Mulaney. >> Yeah. >> And I'd love to skew a little bit more towards the car side of things. >> Well, I like John. >> Are you hinting at time? >> No, not at all. >> Jimmy Carr is known for real. >> Yeah, Jimmy Carr is a little bit dark. >> Yeah, he definitely is. >> He's a very dark humor, but what I see, I think maybe my algorithm brings him to is more of his non-comedy stuff. More of his motivation. >> Yeah, he's a very smart guy. >> Very smart, yeah. >> And I think everybody, I didn't go to college. So, not going to college, one of the things you want is to educate yourself as you grow. As we get older, because we feel we get in these rooms where we don't ever want to be the one who doesn't know what they're talking about. >> Yeah. >> And I admire that. >> Do you want to know about the one on only Dusty Rhodes? >> Hey, old man. >> I would have thought it was Shane Gillis, man of the people. But Dusty and Steve are very similar characters just turned over decades later. >> Yes. >> Adam Sandler. The beloved common man for the voice, big heart, sneaky genius. >> Dude. >> Critics don't always know what to do with them, but people will love him for it. >> So, on first blush, I thought, no way, instantly though, thought about dude in his gym shorts playing basketball and taking care of his, like, >> Yes, it's 100%. >> It's right, Shane. >> And people's, oh my gosh. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's it, man, this is, it's pretty good. Are you doing like an AI plug here? >> Not here, man. >> I sure even said it. >> You're a big AI, yeah. >> Yeah, I mean, there's so many good things. >> It's funny, now you believe it. >> It's funny, now it makes sense to you, man. >> I mean, are you mean another comedian or a wrestler, if you're curious? >> Who's Patrice? >> Patrice is a great one. >> Patrice is your favorite comedian. I think you told me that. >> No, no, he's the greatest comedian. >> You told me that, I asked who was, and you said he was the greatest. >> Yeah, not even nobody's close. >> Okay, yeah, who is he? >> Patrice O'Neill is Andre the giant. The mythic presence, a huge force. Everyone who saw him live talks about they witnessed something sacred. You can't recreate it. You can only tell younger people, hey, he had to be there. >> Yeah, have you been to the WWE headquarters, by the way? >> No. >> That's one of the cooler things when you go into the office now. You just walk in and look to the left and all three floors. It's a giant Andre painting on all. So it goes all the way up to the third floor, the new office. And then there's a statue and the statues are everywhere too. But that's a really cool, you should go. You should go tour. >> You're very welcome at WWE, by the way. >> You know I love those grounds, man. >> Yeah, the Andre thing is interesting because he existed in an era where I feel like looking the part had more importance than maybe even now. >> Yeah, like his size and stature. When you're buying into what we're watching and you're seeing a guy of that size, you're like, it must be real. >> Yeah, there he is. I mean, mythical. >> Everything, I mean, my sister has great stories about Andre because I don't remember much as a kid. He did a couple camping trips with us. And she has stories about his hand just like grabbing her whole head. >> Yeah. >> And everything about that man and what he did too. And I think it's been brought to light. The Hogan doctor did a really good job on us. How important it was, you mentioned doing the honors. How important it was that at WrestleMania 3, he did that for Hogan. >> Yeah. >> And so much of it stems out of that moment. >> What year was that? >> 80th. >> So WrestleMania 3 is what is it, 88? >> 87. >> Because I have memories of this. >> Yeah. >> I'm born 83, but I have memories of Hogan lifting him. And I don't know if I have memories from watching something when I was a little bit older. >> I think we just always saw that. Like- >> Must have been. >> Yeah, cuz I even remember- >> Right. >> I know I was to wait for- >> And there's no way that I- >> But like that. >> When he's like flip them over and yeah. >> He's older here. He's going through it. That's the first time Hogan took him down. Look at the people. >> Oh, and then he asked him to do it by the rope. So he could lift himself. He could use the rope to get himself back up, right? >> And Bobby Heenan is an unsung hero. WrestleMania 3, he's out there. all night, multiple outfits, just unbelievable. Here you go. One of those moments where the wrestling business - Oh, boy. I mean, look at the people. Look at those people jumping. - That's where the wrestling business changes. (audience cheering) - Fire. - Yeah. - It's one of those where you spawning acts over a dome and just you have moments like this where you kind of as a wrestler when these moments happen and they're very few and far between, you basically buy wrestling five to 10 years if that makes any sense. Wrestling was gonna be good for quite some of the people. - People are chasing that moment. - That moment is so important. And again, those moments when they come along, you can't be the one to say that was one of those moments. The world has to tell you. That was one of those moments and that for sure you five to 10 years of, you know, Hogan being as good as he was too. It was able to actually work. They kept the, you know, the content quality. - What was another moment like one of those? - Can I ask you this with how you being annoying about it? - That's, I don't love that. - I prefer to say, can I answer it? - Can I, can I, can I change it again? Can I answer first? - Can I ask this? - I'd like to answer first. - Can I ask this without being annoying? Is you finishing the story one of those moments? - I was always gonna say, answering this question. - But can I ask you? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - 'Cause you would never want to answer that question. - Austin. - John Mulaney would never answer this. - Almost Austin had multiple moments like this. Austin with Tyson in between, Austin with Vince, Austin with the beer truck, maybe one of the reasons why he's such a phenomenal one of the most prolific baby faces ever and the attitude era was so hot. Austin had multiple moments. Tim running, everyone likes the greatest, maybe pop of all time is when he comes to make the save for mankind, hits rock with the chair. - That's what I was thinking. - That's another one. - These are like you said. They're trying to chase it. - All right, guys, take a break for a second. Can we talk about the most underrated organ in your body, your liver? It's doing 500 plus functions every single day. Do you think that that bought years, not just for you, but for people getting excited about wrestling? It's a tough one to answer because it's about you. I don't know if I can answer that, but I can tell you that I know for a fact that it capped off in era and started a new and I'm going to take myself out of the equation in terms of Netflix. I love it that they posted it. They call it the greatest five minutes in wrestling and it's the five minutes near the end of that match where I'm basically just laying on the mat while all this other stuff happens. You have the final boss, the rock. You have the old sheriff of all wrestling and a guy passing this knowledge down in the undertaker. You have super genius, Mr. Heyman, on the outside of J.U. So you have Soloska, but I think. And then you have Roman Reigns. And I would say that Roman on that night, regardless, I would just say Roman on that night changed our industry. So it has nothing to do with me. Wait, why? Well, I don't know. I feel uncomfortable, but it has nothing to do with me. If they, we had a new management. We've got new potential distributors looking at the product who want to buy the product, who want to show us to more households than we've ever been shown before. That moment, I would say, is not about me. I'm happy to be in it. And I'm glad I'm in it. Yeah, so I don't know to answer your question. I don't know. If I was a heel, I would just say. It was the greatest Roman history of the rest of my life. It's definitely. Well, it was one of those things where wrestling was real. Yeah. Meaning that really did happen. What was scripted and what led to that and obviously what happened the WrestleMania before. But the journey was real. And every time you get a moment I imagine in your industry where the thing that happened is real, that's super exciting. Because it often is like a reflection of what's happening outside of wrestling, whether it's like the heat from the fans or whether it's like real storylines between characters, whether it's some actual tension between guys and you get to like play that in the ring. That was the example where it got blurry. And then all these people got to see something happen. Yeah, very blurry. Pretty cool. Again, that moment is 110% Roman reigns. And you feel like Roman doing that, but more you were able to pay everybody's salaries for the next 10 years. Like you feel, is that what you're saying? I'm not saying, I don't know. No, I do. There's an old wrestling saying that one of my favorite wrestlers he'd say there's a couple matches on here that are paying for everybody's flights. Yeah. I always love that. Because I don't think the younger generation knows and they don't need to know. I understand that they don't know. I don't think they understand the full handover of tickets. How difficult selling one ticket can be. How difficult selling 10,000 tickets can be. I don't think they fully know. And I hope that they don't need to worry about it. You mentioned some of the guys. They'll worry about it when it's time for them to worry about. And that's our job. And that's maybe why that whole thing of getting everybody ready, because we need this to keep going. That's the, you often don't know how lovely you have it when you're in a position of support. Because your ambition makes you focus on being in the position of a draw. Yeah. But the weight of the draw is very different. When you're in a position of support, you get to go out there. There's no expectation. Your match gets a quote unquote steel to show. Yeah, but man, did it fill the arena? Right. And when it has to, that's a very different dynamic. It's different. And then this modern generation growing up with I see so many people try to be too smart for social media. They try to clap back at it. They try to get in there because the wrestling fans, particularly on X, can be very, very, very negative and very mean. And the moment you sell for them, they've got you. And what I wish they could understand is that you can't get down and get involved in this. And this is the thing that they won't find out. just mention the burden. When you get to where you want, it's 10 Sometimes worse. When you get to where you want everything you do and say becomes news. >> Yeah. >> And that is hilarious in a way, but also really scary. >> Yeah. >> Really scary. Like, I make jokes on my podcast. Like, come on. >> And then there's whole threads about it. >> Yeah. No, like, really scary. And I just wish they know it's only going to be worse and don't bother with it now. But it is an awesome responsibility. >> Oh my gosh. It's what you want. You want to be up. >> Yeah. >> I said it on TV the other night. When wrestling reflects what's real, it's great. I told them I'm the king of the unwinnable position. >> Yeah. >> Put me in the unwinnable position. Oh, another huge baby face that we're saying is the heel, but the crowd is losing their mind for it. And then there's me. >> Yeah. >> I'll find my way. >> Yeah. >> I'll survive. And it's also my job too. >> Yeah. >> It's my job too. >> Yeah. >> As, you know, someone handed this to me and it's my job. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I don't know if there's another industry that hands it over. >> No. And do we really hand it over? >> I think there are guys that do. There are guys who really do, and then there's guys who hand it over and go, all right? >> I hope you fail. >> I hope you fail. >> Yeah, not I hope you fail, but also like I'll be here. >> I think you need to call me back. >> In case I'll be here. >> Wow. >> That's also, I don't even think that's negative. It's, it's when you're not ready till you're ready and you don't know until you know. And I don't know if it's like this in the comedy space. I feel like it probably is. >> Nobody hands over. You're all just doing it, right? >> There are people that will, there are people that will like maybe co-sign, but there's also an advantage in co-signing. Sometimes co-signing might, you know, breathe more life into you. So like, you know, and then there are people who have been evenly, there are people who have made their like so much of their life. Like Keith Robinson is like iconic comic, he's from Philly, but like we know him as iconic New York comedy seller comic. And like he is put on so many fucking people, it's unbelievable. Like literally like dragging them up from Philly, making them hang out in clubs, introducing and building fucking careers like, she's an absolution. And there are tons of those types of comics. And that is awesome. But I think a lot of times what happens when people are on top is that, you know, they might not feel the same way as somebody else coming on top. They might feel concerned about it. >> I think in wrestling and one of my favorite matches, if not my favorite match of all time, is a prime example of a little bit of what you're saying and a little bit of, it's a bit of both, is you want to do it honestly and great. But then you also want to be the one who said, I picked you, it's, it's, there's an element of it that is positively performative. You're still doing it. You're still handing it. >> But you want to be yours. >> But you also want to be one who was smart enough to end. And I think that's healthy in a way to pick and hope never root against. That's my biggest thing and I learned that especially from my time away from WWE is the pie is not as big as we think. Do not root against anybody. Don't root for them. Even the guy you hate. >> Yeah. >> Root for him. >> Because he's also amplifying the pie. >> Right. And also if you can't beat him, fair and square, you can't beat him. If you can't walk out and get the same reaction, fair and square, then what in your night? Work towards it. Work towards when you can. >> Yeah. >> And wrestling is also cyclical. You're the last music they hear. >> Yeah. >> Sometimes you're not. >> Yeah. >> What's the craziest story in OG's told you that you were like in all my years of rest I've never heard this? >> Well, the Haku Eye story is real. So we mentioned him in terms of like a crazy thing they did. My dad used to tell me this tall tale growing up, that him and another fellow were looking to get, you know, steel, gold, silver, everything the country's build on. They were getting a steel and they derailed a train, derailed a train outside of Austin, Texas. Like they broke the tracks and derailed the train and then when Rob scrap metal off it, clearly I didn't believe the story at all. I didn't believe you derailed the train. And then at his memorial service, a gentleman came up to me who is a sheriff now in Austin and fully co-opted the story about how all man, we were worried. We thought that driver was going to get hurt. We didn't think it would go that bad. I couldn't believe it. But the fact that they took scrap metal off a train in what was probably 1960 something, like you're not robbing trains, still. That was a crazy, I guess that he did it or he knew someone that did it. >> No, he claimed he did it with his friend and I told him that it's tall tale. It's not real. And then the cop came and told me the whole story, throughout terrible decision. But there's a lot of like that in wrestling. So stranger than fiction type, you know, that's wild. And you get Sean on here, you'll get some good ones and you should be able to get him because that's my boy. >> Yeah, I mean, you're the Sean Michael's a comedy. >> I don't like how patronizing you're being with this. >> I thought you're after I've heard the full list. >> Yeah. >> I think it's great for you. I do. I think that's awesome. >> What was the for you supposed to be in right there? >> I think it's great. >> I think it isn't a great for you. >> Isn't it great for Sean? >> Sean's a veteran, you're still a young man, you know. It's Sean. >> For two years old. >> For two. >> Yeah. >> Hold you. >> 41. >> Where in it? >> 41. >> Oh, cigar, man. >> You know, you know what I didn't talk about? That was the cars, bro. >> I was really doing my mind. >> Yeah. >> Did we have a spoke about? >> Yeah. >> Is that we were laying in that pile when my daughter was born. >> Bro, I know. >> We were laying in. >> And you had the most Malaney jokes about it? >> What? >> My Malaney jokes? >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> You were just malaining it up, dude. >> You really were. >> I got a lot of heartbreak kid from you that night. >> Oh! >> You know this stuff. >> Yeah. >> You got this stuff. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That was a, that was something, man. >> Yeah. >> And we ruined those girls scene. >> What are you going to do? I give I give I give my solid 9 out of 10. Oh, he does do Cody last 10. He does Cody. Yeah, everybody else gets a 10 out of 10. David's a 10 out of 10 coach. He 10 out of 10. Koji was just a part. Kaleena. I mean, Dutch giant. I think I think Koji was retaining semen. What? Who's? I think he was he was doing semen retain. Oh, he was on. Yeah. I think. Did you guys talk about that? I feel like I feel like I cannot answer. I think you're saying he was withholding as the character. Which is good. Wait, what how else would you interpret that? I definitely if I was going to say he wasn't out there doing it, I wouldn't say he was retaining semen is not how I'd word it. How would you word it? I mean, that's what it is. I don't know. Koji was doing Koji. Koji was real life for you. So whatever that was, but I mean, I imagine Ryu was retaining his semen. I feel like. Do they talk about it in the video game? Yeah, again, I think this is a little bit of this. I don't know if Ryu has a lot of trust. As a kid, like in the arcade, that's how old I am, and I remember going during lunch to there was this like bodega or deli on first avenue, and I was at Wagner Middle School, and Wagner's on 76 between second and third, and the deli was on like 69th and first or something like that. And I remember we would go and it was actually Capcom versus Marvel on the game that was there. By the time I was at middle school, that was like what was hot. And I remember going to playing, and it was just this daily thing that we would do. It was just such like a part of your life, and it was like the first thing you could flex on as a kid. Like as a kid, you could be good at basketball and these other things, but it didn't matter that much at that age. At that age, it kind of mattered who ran fast straight. >> Yeah, yeah, no, no, yeah. >> You know what I mean? Like being the best at basketball? >> Different metrics. >> Yeah, your street fighter or your Marvel versus Capcom? >> That matters. >> That guy's really good. >> That fucking matters. It's such and such. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, oh man. >> In Marvel versus Capcom, what Marvel player did you play with? >> Oh, that's easy. >> Can I guess? >> The cat. >> Captain America. >> All right. >> How you didn't go X-Men? >> Huh? >> You didn't go any X-Men? >> No, I did not. I didn't have a deep love and affinity for the X-Men. You know what? Do you remember, did you guys have Pizza Hut's growing up? >> I think you played with it. >> This is how bad the Georgia public school system made it was. >> If you got all B's, not all A's, all B's, you could bring your report card to them. >> Oh, I remember. >> And you'd get a VHS copy of Night of the Living Mutants, which is like the original animated series. >> Oh, they would give us a free pizza. >> You get the little, you get a personal page. >> Yeah, that was a thing for B's. >> Nice. >> So I was, and that's it up. >> Yeah, and that's actually, they had not even, like, they had a street fighter cabinet at that pizza. And it was the first time, I was just going to sound terrible, apologies, Brandy. As the first time I saw a woman's boob, because in the stage where you'd place a got, you have to apologize to your wife for that. >> I try, I try to always put her over and talk very, very kindly, as you should, and you do. >> Of course, you should, obviously. >> You have to speak of other women. >> Your wife knows you've seen boobs before, I mean, like China was in the WWE back in the day. >> Yeah, yeah. >> Yeah, these are good points, but the point is, the point is it changed. >> That's the respect. >> Yeah, I wouldn't, the point is it changed. >> If you're planning to announce, it's covered up, it's the statue in the back. >> It's a little disrespectful. >> That's covered up. >> Also Fuente is the box had a woman with the boobs as well. >> Yeah. >> Fuente box still does. >> Do you like some boobies? >> Yeah, I do like some boobies. >> [LAUGH] >> Do you're such a heel, dude? >> No. >> How such a heel thing you're doing? >> You are a dog. >> You're a dog. >> You're a dog. >> You're a dog. >> You're a dog. >> We're marking a lot on that. >> This is what he does. >> This is what I said. >> It's actually a really sophisticated, like, social tool. And I imagine that you develop from being around people that you have to say hi to constantly. >> Move quickly. >> Yes. >> So it's like what he would do is, all right, when you're on set, you're around all the same people every single day. And when you walk from one place to another, you're going to see 20 people. And like, obviously, as normal social person, the right thing to do, and you see somebody who say hi. What's going on, blah, blah, blah. But like, sometimes you got to get to A to B. And I would notice you do this thing as you walk around and acknowledge when they're like, and I'm like, what's this parking thing? And I realized it's the equivalent of like a fist bump, I like them. >> Move on. >> Yeah. >> I acknowledge you. >> We're pushing. >> Yeah. >> And you've got a germ thing so you don't have to touch it. >> Yeah. Are you a germ thing? >> No, but I mean, if you're a germ thing. >> I know you've got a germ thing. >> You've got a germ thing? >> No, I thought you did. >> I don't have germs. >> They told me before I came on set, just be mindful he's got a germ thing. >> Is that what they told you before you came on set? >> How is your breath? [LAUGHTER] >> No, but I, you remember obviously home improvement, Tim Toolman Taylor, I had to ask myself at one point, where did this come from? Because there's a rest store right now, Braun Breaker, Barks, and the crowd, Barks, and I'm like, dang it, it's kind of like, that's his, that's his, I've got to be his. But at least backstage, I can still be like, you know, actually, you ever talked to Solosiko who I was talking about him earlier, great story where we did a match with me and at Brock Lesnar versus Roman and Solo, and the match was never going to happen. >> What? >> We were going to do a big schmauz, a big angle at the end. So there wasn't going to be a match, but Solo was new, and he didn't know the nuance of sometimes maybe the high level of the game, where people are not saying things for a reason. There's producers who don't even know what we're about to pull. This may be a limited number of people we need to know. I thought on his side of things, he would have been pretty, pretty. So he's planning to do a full tag match with me and Brock, and Brock is a unique animal to approach. He doesn't even lock up. So how do you get in there with Brock? What do you do? Like do you just run up and kick him? Do you run up and let him close on? What do you do? And he backstage, very nervous, which he's never nervous anymore because he's really assumed the locker room role now, but man, he backstage, I walked right by him, I didn't realize what I did. Yeah. What are we doing out there? Hey, what do we do? And I just remember, and I kept going. And he at the beginning of this match, which doesn't happen, is basically like getting ready to jump us, not aware of what's about to happen because he thought that's the only way you could do it with a guy like this, like you jump on him and get what you can, and then he'll take back over. So as a classic case of maybe the bark almost went the other way. He should have got the information. I thought he would. You say that about Brock. I remember some match. I don't know what exactly it was, but where you went, maybe was even a promo, but you just went right at Brock. Yeah, I typically would. I dove on him. No, it was punches to the head, and he gets you and he does the, and you start getting thrown around. Yeah. And you end them Germans, super city. Yeah. But I remember that. That's right. That's interesting. So he just won't lock up. So it's just really street fight with him. Yeah. I mean, he's, he's definitely in, he's the closest to it. It's very real. And when I say it's very real is, I'm not talking about getting punched in the eye or the nose. The pain of it. Well, more the earn it. More the earn it. And the earn is something you learn when you get in there with older guys. They do want you to get where you want to get, but you might have to take a few more steps to get there. It makes any sense, you know? Are you at the level of success that the belt is not important? I feel like the belt's the most important thing in the game. You have to say that obviously, but like, I don't, there are certain fighters like boxers, for example, where their name recognition is so valuable that it carries, it supersedes the title. We don't even have to say supersede, but it almost, it almost holds the weight of a title. It holds the importance of the title because people are invested in those characters. Yeah. If the rock comes back at any point in time, we don't need them to have a fucking belt. It's the rock. Okay. Would you agree? No, no, no, no. I totally get what you're saying, but it's for the promoter to know that because even somebody like that, so if you were promoting, I still want the belt. There's something about it. It's something about it. Yeah. Having it. And again, what's real and what's not? When you walk around with a backstage, it's real. I hope you have more wrestlers who sit on the couch with you and then lie to you and then say, no, no, I don't want that. I feel like, I don't want that. I'm good now, buddy. I feel like when the rock came back, he really wanted it. Well, he didn't want it that time, so I'm back. Yeah, like it's, it's, it's, again, I consider a positive thing. You want it. There's nothing wrong. Yeah. in your life and I have two who are both. you know well. And that's hunter and nick. You need a person in your life, a promoter, a creative lead, someone to say, right now is yours time. We need this done or right now you don't need, you need that. That's for them to know. I think as a wrestler, you should still always, always be looking at what is the guy wearing the title doing? Is he doing the most? Should he, when I am I doing the most? That's that's how we keep going. How we keep going? I, to any segment that would go wrong off the rails, even if I know very, very in my bones and it might not have been my fault, I want to put it on me, especially when you're wearing the title, especially. That's, I'm, I'm not, definitely mentioned like a pretty well-liked insert in my room, not by all. And the deaf, the wrestlers that I don't get along with are the ones who aren't in it for that. I just, it doesn't mean I don't like them. I just don't get you. Like I don't get you. You didn't want to grow up and be a champ. Like what, what, what did you want to do? And it's not wrong. It's just to me like, and maybe I grew up, we defined athlete earlier by playing kids sports. Maybe I grew up in my dad and mom were not coming to those wrestling tournaments for me, not the place. They weren't like, we weren't having a bad ride home if I didn't, but they weren't coming for me. They wanted to win. They wanted you to win. Like Hunter said. I'm mad at that. Triple H said that, I don't want to misquote him here, but he had something about like the baby faces. Yeah. He likes the heels. And he's like, the baby faces something. I forget. He said it on the pot here, but you could feel like in his heart, like he appreciates it maybe because he spent time as a heel. Yeah. But like, it's not like he was being critical of baby faces, but maybe he felt like the heels don't get the, the due that they deserve like proper heels don't proper heels don't. And today it's weird to we're redefining the industry every day. So when you speak in absolute, when I speak in absolutes, I get in trouble because I say, well, that's not a heel or that's not a baby face. The fans are the ones who decide so they're right and I'm wrong. But I will say at least how I was trained a proper heel isn't someone that you like isn't someone they're like, oh, he got new music and a new look and dark hair and all that, that's another layer of paint that makes you cool. JBL is a great example of a heel. He was a heel and he came to Texas and they had shirts for him because he was from Texas. He went to the merch stand himself and took the shirts. You're not selling shirts for me. You're selling shirts for him and who was pointing out with John Cena. Like, I don't care. He said, I don't want you to. That's a heel. Interesting. Interesting shot there, Bradshaw. Yeah, like, but when he was New York transplant, hat on the head, limo's, financial genius, all the things, one of the smartest guys I'd ever been around and in the wrestling space, that's that is mine. It doesn't mean I'm I'm again, the fans are right and I'm wrong, but that to me is that's a heel and the chase for that is very hard on set. Yes, not on set at a bar. You're wearing your like merch pretty much. Not merch, but like you have like your own American nightmare. You're still in one of the so I think one of the more difficult things for me and this is you could be on a therapist couch. You could be talking to a bazillion people, mental health wise, trying to figure out who you are, but one of the hardest things for me and CVV knows I'm going to bring him up and he asked me a question one time that it bothered me and I really wrestled with it. He asked me, he goes, when are you not in character? Because as a wrestler, you feel like you you split that line anyways. On a flight. You're in character. The suspension disbelief and that is true at the bar. You're in character. The moment you leave your house. Yeah. To the moment you go back to your house. That's how it was for the wrestlers I liked. They were always on. They were always. Hey, what do you do? Hey, what's that? What's that logo on your cuff? All like, yeah, you were always in. I don't know if that's the healthiest thing. I don't know. I know that I finally got an answer for that when I got to the point where I had children and thought, oh, I could care less about my performance. I just first felt like she's asking me, you know, fun questions that I write down still know the answers to and you know, putting a 19 with the nine backwards. I can help here. That's the gift. What's this right here, March? I don't know. This is the one of the greatest JBL heel promos of all time. I've never been to fight heavy sun. Never. Because if you had you would not ask such a stupid question. Life did not change and I fight. Lives are broken and I fight. When one man has to say I quit, he's no longer a man. I've been kicking ass my entire life. Welcome to my home. Well, John Cena was sitting in the stance just a few years ago, rooting for whoever was fighting against me. I was winning championships. Now he says he wants to stay with the people who brought into the dance. Good. They can stay with him. They can suffer with him. They can agonize with him and they can quit with him. Because just like Babe Ruth, I'm going to call my shot. You know, like you bleed, John. I want to bust you wide open. That coming down your face will not be swimming. It's going to be blood. It's going to get your eyes. It's going to get your mouth. You're not going to be able to see. You better go back to your rat career. You better go to your movie career. He'll run for Governor of Minnesota. These idiots will elect anybody. Whoa. I'm sorry. You're not my league. And you don't belong to wrestling with me because the last thing you will see through the blood in your eyes is my boot kicking off your face. The last thing you will say is what you have said your entire life. I quit and you will realize, son, that I am what I say that I am. I am a wrestling god. Okay, here's the lie. Here's why I love this. No barbs, no zingers. No, the Minnesota governor was fired. But like, but like, there's no, uh, he didn't treat it like a rap battle. And most it's about you winning the title. You're not going to win the title. You're going to have to say you quit and everybody's going to quit with you. Just writing for a heel is very difficult. How I look at it as you're not trying to promote a really become rap battles now. What do you got in your pocket? You know what I mean? You got these zingers on one another. And those are fun. But I really, I feel like a really proper giving partner in those segments is the ones that let you say all the cool stuff. Let's you, hey, I'll say this. I'll set you up. It's going to be stiff, but you could say this. You know, and this is just a promo that's not cool. It's just direct, not cool direct. You're going to, you, nothing cool about that. There wasn't a kid there like, I want to be JBL. No, and he's also making a promise, which if I correct this match, he does bust John Cena up, bad, bloody, bloody John Cena, and I bet you John Cena overcomes. But just the idea that a bad guy isn't necessarily telling falsehoods either. He might be telling you the truth of the ways telling you. It's the ways telling you. It's the grinding of an axe. It's really complicated. It really is. Yeah, it really is. And then it looks like John Cena eventually beats him and forces him to say, I quit. There's guy in, you know, it's, is it funny to pick on Josh there and say you've never been in a fight. It's a little stiff, but also that's perfect because the guy who just said that the Josh just put JBL over by selling for that because JBL is now going to go out there and sell for John Cena and say, I quit. It's one collaborative effort. We have back, stayed. Look at this. That's the fight. Bloodbath. That might have been the one. Bloodbath. So we have people backstage that are wonderful. And I'm going to shout them out. And this is one thing that I love that Hunter does. Kathy Kelly and Jackie Redmond and are when we have Byron Sachsden, when we have Corey Graves and all our analysts, Joe Test, Michael Cole. Of course, the voice of WWE is everyone in the production should know the direction, which all the way kicking back to Street Fighter was so welcoming. And again, like wrestling, it felt like wrestling to me. Oh, I know where we're all going here. Right. So it gives me room to do, to do background, to do homework on my character because oh, I know where this is going. Why is this guy here for this tournament? Is it for the tournament? Or is there something else? And in this case, it's when it's done this way, everyone worked together. Everyone's sitting in that production meeting. And Triple H is really great at that should know, hey, you you backing down and being a coward for him here, you you have to understand that's your role because later he's going to be a coward. And that's that'll be his role. It's a real collaborative. And that we need that as an industry to survive. And again, with the new management we have, how do you balance the Eagles with the collaboration? Yeah, that's what I want to earn it. So it's a great question. So some guys don't want to. So what do you do? It's got to know it's right. If they know it's business, it's a matter of earning it. And this is like an example. And so much of this is inside baseball. And I it's but it's it's fun to talk about. If I grabbed Undertaker's leg and wanted to ring it on the post and grab it and ring it. Most guys I can pull out split their legs, you like wishbone and then ring it. Undertaker if I pull his leg is going to pull back and then he's going to pull back and I'm going to be in a genuine struggle and then I bet you he's going to pop his head through the second and the bottom rope and what you do there is you punch him square in the forehead until he finally lays back and then you pull it and ring is it's a herding it. And I don't think we have egos that go beyond that right and that's proper ego. It's proper if I'm I'm six seven or whatever taker was I'm going to make him earn it. Like you can work with anybody. Dan Housen can wrestle with Goonther and that match when it happens will probably be beautiful to see because Goonther somebody you have to earn it with and how could you possibly get anything on this guy. But if you're a pro and you understand business, there's a way. Anything can happen. That's beautiful in my wrestling. You can do anything. She's got to think, you know, which is again, I was also so excited to be in on set because is how Noah was talking. It's all about thought. And yeah, how can I say this and it doesn't why would I do this? Why would I do this? That's the question. Why would I do this? That's what I've noticed about like the the good actors is that like they have a real and just from like very little experience with them and like obviously being the fucking worst actor around all like people know what they're doing. But like they they start asking questions like why would I do it and would my character do it and like, what would the reaction be to this? Like code you would ask that a lot knows that was as a lot. And it's not like how do I it's not I'm being an annoying actor think about me. It's more just like tell me why I would why my why would do it like wouldn't my character be upset if this happened? Yeah. Would they be joking around in this situation? Like what did they actually want out of this and it's interesting that like I did this move this is she just won Emmy Ray Seahorn was like unfucking believable for pleuribus shadow ray. She was incredible. And it was just like acting it was like acting one of why it was the school. I'd just be like sitting down with her like way to go on just basically like trying to soak up tips. And she was she was like super analytical about the scene like every single line. She's just like breaking it down like a like a football coach almost. Yeah. You know just like we have what the fuck do I want here? What's stopping me from getting it here? And she said really interesting thing she's like when you want something you don't have to pretend to be something. Like when you when you actually have something you want when you're saying me the lines that comes through. Yeah. When you don't have something that you want and something's getting away with it you're like pretending to be happy or pretending to be sad and that comes through. Oh man. Although it was like a really good way of thinking about it. You know without getting too deep into like the acting of a jumbo but like I would just watch it with her. Kind of like wow it's really fucking natural. Do you know where I finally kind of said because you asked me oh go hey what do you have left to accomplish when we're talking about the wrestling space? I hope I've been forthcoming with everyone when I love it. It's my life's work. There's plenty to accomplish. Maybe it's more business metrics and specifics like that. But I got the acting bug hard when we went to see I don't know if you came to this one. I think you'd already seen it when we saw the screening of Union County. Oh no it was Moves movie yeah well pulled it right like two things happened for me in addition to getting the bug bug one was were you there that night? No no. Okay so he invited us and I was all excited oh my gosh we're going to see something we've never seen and it was Australia where we were locked in. So we were doing things together. I didn't know what type of movie it was. So I again have a night I brought a bottle of blantons in my backpack and we were all sitting just in this little private screenroom and I was going to pass it around like OG like community style. We're just going to pass this ball around. Yeah. The beginning of the movie will let you know it's not that movie that you do that for. It heavily covers substance abuse and I literally am pulling it out of my bag and there's us it's giving the scroll on the screen about what's happening in the rehabilitation program and I just slowly back in my bag and all right never mind but when I saw that that was where for me and I don't know it was a similar moment to when she told you that I was so I called Brandy after I was so of the thought like I got a I have to start flexing this muscle yeah I really am intrigued but I want to get good at it. I want to get good at this because I I'm here and this is fun and it's action and it's in I'm I mean I like the choreography of the fights and things that feels natural but what what these guys are doing I want to do that so there is a element with like the collaborative effort with it where not every line is your line you might be setting somebody up for something yeah and their line is what's going to kick the scene or their line is what's going to you know drive home the emotion of it or whatever it is yeah I think it's very easy to get caught up in especially like in in our business which is like okay we got the mic and we got delivered here yeah sometimes your deliver is setting up Noah who's carrying us on the fucking journey sure if they if the audience isn't buying Noah we don't have a movie yeah if they're not behind Koji we'll have a movie right these are the characters that we're all showing up to see and then we get to ideally like elevate what they do yeah but I think the people who are the best there are the ones that are like if somebody's being scary you got to be fucking scared sure you know if David is being bison he's being a villain yeah it's got to be terrified to you yeah right like otherwise what are we doing here otherwise you're doing the thing in wrestling where it's like you're not selling yeah we are indicating to it's versus actually being I think one of the things that helped with David was he's big people may not realize David is yeah I thought David was like five eight yeah David is my heart David is big yeah and I think everyone may not figure that out right away cause he plays like Koi character like well sneaky and then he walks around you like okay yeah I had a dream in mind I thought I and if we if we do any more of these or anything like that I'd love to fight with David because in the anime it's one of the best fights ever Gile is so outmatched but the efforts there and I love that about Gile in that role the effort to beat up bison is Captain America vs Thanos he's nowhere in the league of and and bison keeps using the psycho power and just it just one second he's there one second he's gone but yet David being big helped a lot too the range in the movie was so fun because Mamoah stuff is so so fun I wish we got to hang with Mamoah man yeah that'd be really cool when you were there no because what he did is he was doing doing as well which legendary also made yeah but like him and Koji have a a sick yeah it's so yeah it's really fun because it's it's it's also here I mean Jason Mamoah isn't this movie G is such a move Mamoah and he's like Blanca also and he's a Blanca to you like he's like he's like this made me fall in love with acting and I was like one exactly he's like dude you got to see it we did this thing and like they're seen bro there's like some emotional shit in there yeah it's like the range on the movies for nothing yeah I can tell so yeah I don't get down like dude I don't know how you did it but you found a way to like make the real Blanca fight scene which we all have seen like in the trailer there's like this emotional component to it lay this yeah I don't want to give away too much but yeah as far he already had trouble for playing that clip no no no this you said it was fine cool basically yeah listen Cody man I'm so excited for what's to come with you that thank you I mean I'm excited for what's to come with you I'm I have three fighter coming out October 16 that's where you have it coming out yes as well and yeah and then who knows what you're getting lean for who you know yeah are you going to play the what is it Christian Bale's character and the machinist wow that's what they're prepared that's lean lean that's lean lean lean well you know when you get lean it on screen looks great looks ripped so you know someone told me Brad Pitt for fight club was like 140 pounds or something like that but just just just not that is that is not so no bring up Brad Pitt fighting wasn't like we remember it different I watch it not too long ago he's not big you don't look nice not crazy like he looks look at that though but also big people looks like somber are pretty lean yeah no but on screen it's literally just get skinny yeah because it's going to puff you up it's so funny because you get like real wise you kept saying on set real porked up and porked up sometimes can I say that you you used porked up a lot on set I feel like that was something that you were bringing it to set and you were asking us to describe you as porked I'm pretty sure your literal line is you look pork no that's no as it is you're right now it's like pork I stand corrected yeah but yeah we're all just getting lean and getting healthy who knows what projects are ahead of us and hopefully we have great projects and that's fun I'm excited for you dude I'm so excited for you man I'm excited for you I'm excited for everybody we have fun too I'll show the fact that we get together and have a night yeah one of these days we should because you haven't even had any I think I've had like three you barely had one you used to get a gentleman no well that's not used to be a guy it was only drink he said he's trying to keep it gentlemen are you not drinking you want like a wonderful the cigar and I had some of your your a beaky and it was phenomenal you had a big you have a big day today probably that's why you're not drinking you You have a lot of things you gotta do. - Sure. Yeah, I also you changed bro. How have I changed? We always come on your couch and got sloshed and was a good was a good like interview Rogan Rogan Rogan was yeah, he was on a fistful of mushrooms half a bottle of whiskey. I don't believe that really He's able just to do so good dude. You can do You have talent, bro Yeah, wait to wait to you. Yeah, wait to see a Vega Yeah, Guy on the movie does have a unique outlook on Vega and perhaps is okay way too much. Well. Yeah, what's this given away shit? We're gonna watch the movie or go are you guys coming up with premieres? 12, right? Are you gonna do some when like are you gonna have a Cody thing? Tell me what that means like are you gonna do it in your hometown or something like that a bonus round? No, but like you know, like no, we do it. We so we because we have the premiere and then two days later Which is the 15th I think or the 14th. Yeah, the 14th the one is in Atlanta at an AMC I don't know if they've told anyone this yet, so forgive me. I think we're giving information about Atlanta And it may not just be any old bonus round might be all guy. Maybe maybe guy. I'll even shows up Oh, you know, because they got the AMC popcorn bucket, which is big by the way And the last thing I want to see online with that popcorn bucket because you saw it on that day It's awesome. The last thing I want to see online is people getting into fights and theaters because of that popcorn bucket It's like right for you. Yeah, I saw those memes that came out of you. Oh, man. That's that is such a cool popcorn bucket That is so cool. Yeah, so okay before we leave before we leave Not talking about anything crazy or anything future wise. Yeah Is there a time in your life you see yourself? You never know where this go settling down You've been like a man and have some kids no like you no, but like you're like I relate to it man Like I've spent the majority of my life traveling too. Yeah, you get it I have kids like but we also have a responsibility to revive the kids But there's also a selfishness in that responsibility like you've obviously earned enough to provide But like is there also a point in time where you go? I'm gonna set this thing aside or I'm gonna limit the amount of it. I think I used to have a number in mind for when wrestling retirement will come but the way I've Really grown with with the current regime of WWE and yeah, there's some unsaid heroes to a Bobby rude for example and Him kind of growing into a role there as a as a big big-time producer on big matches Michael Hays is still there Doing the exact same thing mr. Hame and all that one thing I have learned from them is they never have really taken They've never stepped back from it. They've stepped into different roles So if I you know potentially I Forgive me if this is breaking news and please edit it if I'm not allowed to share Which is fine. I just resigned with WWE. So I'll in my wrestling career. Why would I not be able to share that? I don't know actually So I feel like we were dealing with a lot of sensitive, but you were really good about no But I I'll in my wrestling career with WWE, but also my wrestling career with WWE might continue because We are now that I just spoke to the New York Times about this and this was such a great moment to share this is We're now able to go do this stuff. So say I do have another project say I got two other projects whatever it may be I'm able to take a step step away and I'm able to collaborate with WWE and I'm able to come back home I'm just saying I'm able to come back home. Whatever. I'm able to do it. You're you're really circling this one Because I because but with that said there's when is when is there that settle down moment, right? Or you I don't understand what you're doing right now. I'm just saying I can't tell you I kind of set you up for like one thing And I went away with it. I can't go your brag. I am. I am. So let's just let's just bring it back Yeah, because the heels come out of me and it's so my lane. It's my I I don't know when settling down is but I can say this and say you have you have children so you know My parents were there for everything pretty much at the time. So they needed them to be there for everything So I'd say like eight years old on to through everything every game every event booster club all those all those things I love that they were there I felt like I was Business was me and my sister teal. I'd love that for for my two girls So with that it means I need to Find way to work. Yeah, you can climb now. So you need to get to work exactly Till you told you know we were playing it earlier till I collapse and then I can I can go because we've done well in our Mutual spaces that we could do it now, but there's more there's more to do there's more to do. Okay You said you're resigned with WWE. How is the pay structure with WWE? Especially for the like the newer guys because like We sometimes hear people like MMA complain about like pay. Yeah, I'm curious. I don't hear wrestlers really complain about pay Well the wrestling economy is is different now because There's other places you can go wrestle So it's like if you're not getting enough here. You just go to one of the other No, it's just it's just the fact that The money the best way to put it the money in wrestling and sports entertainment is very good And I feel like if you were my dad or any of these wrestlers. We talked about on that list You'd be shocked I my mom didn't get it when I said hey She legit like yeah, but your pops was grinding at a very grinding and also it but the now the contracts are guaranteed and all this is very very different All that means to me and it's like that's a huge responsibility But like let's say a new wrestler just got put on like what does that look like? Wow, man I don't know what our developmental. I mean everything is is Is six six figures you know what? I'm actually I'm defer Because Nick has a great Nikon at a great quote about these guys are gonna do well These guys are gonna do really well and then these couple guys he named if you guys they're gonna do Next level and that next level pay is now comparable with sports And that's the part that I'm so proud to be a wrestler because when you hear baseball contracts and NBA contracts And you know as a wrestler that you go all over the world and be known and be seen But you weren't on that level you were on the level of penetration, but not that level of income now Modern to go and Nick have made it that you are, but is that gonna change shit? But you think that they're not those those contracts are not gonna go No, no, I'd like to the people Your dad's error. Yeah I Don't know if anybody wrestled They didn't love it Hmm Because they probably could have made comparable money doing something sure sure like it was such a passion Yeah, and it also such a grind yeah, that you had to fucking love it now wrestling is at the point where you're making Sports money. It's a great way to put it. Yep But with sports money comes there's a lot of people that play sports. They don't really love that much now To play at the elite elite elite if you're a seven footer in the NBA. I don't know if you love it I know some coach told you in high school. Hey, your son should play basketball. Yeah, they say the game found them If you're a six footer in the NBA, you found the game sure So what I wonder is what happens with wrestling now that that money is comparable to find will there be people who are like I didn't make it in this. Yeah, but I have the physique whatever. Let me try to figure this out opposed to the kid Who watch wrestling your whole life their whole identity is built around wrestling They fucking love the game. Yeah, and they will find a way to succeed in this like I mean the roots of it are carnival-esque business very much. Yeah, but the inverse could be true as well Like if you have like a running back that's has it could be an NFL prospect because like I also love wrestling Yeah, I'm high school and like if the love is there if the love is there they could also be that that case where it's like Well, I shouldn't go into wrestling because I can make way more money playing in a NFL But now he's like, oh, I could do wrestling. You're right. So you could get talent that you might not have gotten Well, one of the things with the new system point where the NIL system and the tri-out system is finding people who may not have found wrestling yet The game is finding people so you're getting them early, but Bianca Belair is a great example the game found Bianca Belair Bianca Belairi fell in love with it It it she was exposed to the industry in XT does puts put his hook right and but that's that's the thing if it doesn't get even a hook in you You can't do it then you can't do it because the ask of it are crazy the other guy who came in here with me Zack He's he's seen the sheet that I have to do for the next 15 days or so You have to love it. Yeah, there's you have to love it You have to love it and want to and not think about the grind to it all And that's a great example of the game might have found her, but now she is the game You know what I mean like she is the game That's the and that wrestling used to be like that actually. It was a lot of football a lot of baseball The money wasn't you weren't offering them the money you were offering the experience Tell stories in front of a live crowd and hear them go up and hear them go down and control them Now you're now you're offering them both Which is a beautiful thing I when I was on the Netflix red carpet for the premiere of raw all I could think about and I was Tearing up and every interview was all of the old carney promoters Bill Watts Eddie Graham, my father, Jerry Jarrett, Vince of senior, all of them. And I don't mean to say Karni, but all of them thinking about that's all they ever wanted. We might break every rule here. But if they saw this, they'd go, you made it. We didn't. We made it. You think Tom Brady competes in WWE? I would love Tom to do anything. But I was actually just about to mention Tom, because I interviewed Tom at fanatics fest. And because we're asking him about settling down, he offered the best answer. And Tom is one of my favorite players of all time, right? He offered one of the best answers I've ever heard in terms of why he continued to do it at such a high level. And it's a like what we were talking about with the giving back. He said, I had already won. I wanted them to win. I wanted my team to win. I wanted there were new folks. I wanted new, I wanted them to have the same experience. And I'm paraphrasing here, but I thought that's it. When you get to a certain point, how now do you, do you share that wealth? And still there's a selfish element of it. Sure. You're still out there doing it. Tom wants you. You have to be at that level. But I do feel it was honest and saying you want that, which is why the settling down aspect of it, the we would be nowhere in WWE today without some of the guys who didn't settle down, right? And those voices backstage who collaborate with Triple H is what makes up the best product we've ever been. Wrestling fans don't love it when it's said and they don't love it when there's a pat on the back and they want us. You'll hear words like decline and things of that nature. Earnings reports hand over hand. It's continued to grow every year since WrestleMania 37. But don't you want that engagement from them? Yeah, well, that's what I meant, like don't be too smart for them. Let them have creatively be mad at it. Let them be. Don't be too smart. Don't get mad at what they said. Oh, Cody looked fat out there tonight. Great. Don't, I'm not great. You do, you are taking that seriously. They lean. They bought a ticket. Like let them have their experience. This is, don't coach them on how to be fans. This is one of the things I think is unique about wrestling and it's ability to embrace whatever the energy the audience brings. So the audience gets to the side of somebody who's a heel or like a level, what is an anti-hero? What is that more of a lot of anti-heroes today? Yeah, yeah. But the embracing of it, not the force feeding. And I feel like sometimes in like traditional entertainment, there's a forcing of things that the audience objects to and they try to muscle it through. And I feel like wrestling just goes, Oh, wait, they hate them. Good. Yeah. Oh, wait, they look at that guy. Yeah. Good. We will work with that. There is a, I don't know, there's like a fluidity. It's like the OG algorithm. Low key. Yeah. No, go on that. That's a fucking great. Well, I mean, like the algorithm is like pretty meritocratic in the sense that it just like prioritizes people like garnered the most attention. They're like garnered them. Yeah, just whether they're, whether they're negative or positive, it just prioritizes them. Yeah. And wrestling rides the algorithm before the algorithm fucking existed. The algorithm is the people cheering or booing. It's a real time. It's real time. And they're not afraid of it. It's real time. And then, but to, to the old force feed, the old element of that of picking someone saying, you're him, you're her. If you've got the right people who made the choice, they know how to set you up. They, well, it also, they know how to set you up, but it may not happen right away. And you got to have faith in that. Don't panic. I heard somebody quote 10 years the other day and modern friends were like 10 years. I'm not waiting 10 years. You might and not realize it. What does that mean? Like it took 10 years for me to get to somebody that said it took them 10 years to finally be seen in the spot. This is, this is the, you might not have, but then in 10 years when the light bulb goes off, it went off brighter than anyone else. I, I see this with you know, so it's, if you had to write people making the choice and go, and that's, that's him. That's where I always text you guys. You're like, I'm looking at and I think you're interesting. Like, Javon and I'll see him do just like these amazing fucking things. I'm just so connected to it. And like the, the faith that the people in charge also recognize that are going to build him in a way where when he has a belt around his waist, the audience wants him to have that belt around his waist. And there's a difference between, and I'm not saying he's an example of this, but like, I would imagine a hot song and like a legacy. That's the whole thing. That's over versus popular. Yeah, yeah, that's over versus pop over versus I, there's plenty of guys who are popular and I love them. I'm glad they're on the show and there's say they're catchphrase, yeah, a crowd reacts. Yeah, then there's over and over sounds different. It sounds different. It's not just screaming yelling. It's, you hear the glass break. It's like what's like we talked about Chappelle. You were just, if you need a promo in 2026, where no one is in the ring with you, no one's there. And you're just talking and your opponent's not going to come out. And there's not going to be some hot moment. You're just directly going to say in three minutes, serve seven minutes, whatever it may be about a match you have coming up or scenario, and they listen, you're, you're, you're playing different over. That's, that's over. If they, and they flat out just listen, that, that, there's little things and I don't even know. To me, it's this inescapable unicorn is what really over is. I only think maybe two guys, maybe three are, are, are over the rock, John Cena and one unnamed. Is that person still there? Yeah. Copy. I think we know, I think we know, probably. Yeah. I'm not saying me. I think you said, no, I wasn't. That would be very millennia. No, would it be millennia? No, I'm not saying, but if you've just maligned, no, your comedy, comedy equivalent. I did. I'm a line, my, my boy. I'm screwed. That's a kid folk. You gotta respect. No, but that, and I only set that as a bar, not because I want people to be like, that's such a weird absolute. I just, that's the bar we're supposed to shoot for. I think where your name announced tonight before and people flood ticket master to see, like that, that, that's not just a carny sales element. That's their connected to you. You didn't want to say Roman. I didn't say anything. I'm not, I'm not trying to put you. I'm not trying to create news for. You don't have the same thing. But yes, obviously he is. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. That's really interesting. Yeah. And good for the game. Yeah, that's it. That, that, that, that we need all that. And, you know, and there are more. I, I said, yes, four, you know, maybe, maybe four or five. I will, I know, I, you know, I don't think you'd be against this. I don't think you'd be against this, but uh, wrong. It's great in the movie. Yeah. Do you, I saw it. He's great. He, he, he's phenomenal. I think everyone knows that he's so good. You, you have taken this down and rode that guys, Cody Rhodes, everybody. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's what it is. Yeah. That's what I'm having to do. That was great.
