Claude 4.5 Just Built My App From My Phone (Zero Coding)
14m 13s
The video outlines the process of creating a mobile app named "Shot List Studio" using the AI-driven Vibe Code platform, entirely without coding. The app addresses a common problem among content creators: organizing and planning short video shoots efficiently. Starting with a prompt describing the need to record and manage videos, the creator uses the "brand new cloud model" (Claude 4.5 Sonnet) to generate the app iteratively. Initial issues, such as filming errors and unclear video playback, are resolved through feedback and prompt adjustments. The UI is refined to simplify elements like replacing trash icons with three-dot menus, adjusting colors, and adding a bottom-sheet modal for creating sessions. Features include AI-generated shot suggestions, expandable notes during filming, and real-time sync between web and mobile versions. After multiple iterations, the app is finalized as a functional MVP, with videos stored locally. The creator then submits it to the Apple App Store via Test Flight, emphasizing the accessibility and speed of AI-powered app development for turning ideas into deployable products.
today we're going to be building a mobile app using the brand new and tropic cloud model. And we're not going to write a single line of code because this AI model is the best in the world at coding mobile apps. And then we're going to come up with a perfect prompt to use to build our app. And then we're going to send it to the app store. Let's not waste any time. Let's dive in. Okay, so before we dive into the brand new cloud model and build a mobile app directly from our phone, what I want to do is I'm going to go over our problem here. And I realized this yesterday when I was trying to film short form. So like I was trying to film short form. So it was like a vertical video. And I was running into issues while filming short form content. And while I was filming short form content, I realized that I lose all my videos. First of all, so like after I film. And then also it's hard for me to plan my video shoots, right? And these are just like one minute to two minute film sessions. And it's hard to like plan them and then film them and keep these all organized. And that is the central problem I want to solve here is I want to create an app where I can record all of my videos from my phone and then keep them organized. This is kind of the central problem that I know many people are struggling with because I do know a lot of content creators and they struggle with the same thing. And part of this is even just like coming up with video ideas. And so that is the central problem I want to solve. This is the app idea that I want to go with. And this is the first prompt. So I'm just going to copy this. And then I'm going to pull out my phone. And I can very easily just build an app from my phone with AI. This is 2025. We can just click the vibe code app. We can use the brand new cloud model. And what I'm going to do here is I'm going to paste that prompt in. And we're going to be using build mode. And we're just going to build it. And we're going to wait for cloud 4.5 Sonnet to be done working. And so this brand new cloud model is a lot different than previous models. It's significantly better at calling tools simultaneously, which makes it way faster. You can feel it. It just works through this really fast. And it can generate apps that used to take sometimes 10 minutes in like two minutes or three minutes. And so here are the steps that it's basically going to be taking. All right, it's almost done. Okay, it's done. It is saving progress. We can see it's loading up. Boom. There we go. So this is the first prompt. Here we have the shot list. So we can just create a session. The session is going to be a new and thropic model. Notes are optional. I'm going to leave that for now. Now we can open this up and shot better. We're going to call this one better. Is it better? Okay, now we have two shots. Okay, now what we can do here is we can film the shot. All right. Shot prompt here. First prompt. There it is. Shot prompt faster. So why is it not letting me film? No. Is it letting me film this way? No. Okay, it's not letting me film. So we just have to tell the agent this. We are going to just copy this error that it gave us there. And we're going to go to Sonnet 4.5. I'm going to say, can you please fix this error? This error occurred when I tried to film one of the shots. Okay, so now we're going to wait for 4.5. Sonnet to be done. And yeah, we'll check it out when it's complete. This should only take about a minute. All right, it's done. Let's see if this works here. Okay, now we are looking good here. Let's go ahead and check this out. Let's try and film this shot. The reason the model is better is that it's just better. Okay, shot recorded, use this shot. Okay, session complete. It says it's complete. But like, how do I watch the video? Let's just explain this. It now let me film. And it says it was done. I filmed all the shots. But now I don't know where the videos are saved. And I want to be able to play it right then in there. And I want it to like show up somewhere that I can hit play and then watch that shot. So please do that. And then we wait again. Okay, let's see. This is a test. This is a test. I don't know if you can hear that, but it is playing, right? I can hear it. Let's turn this up. I can now play it back. This is a test. This is a test. Now this looks atrocious. So I'm going to screenshot this and we're going to give this back to the new quad model here. And let's make sure that we're using the new cloud model. And I'm going to press this right here. This looks absolutely atrocious. I want this to absolutely function the same way. Everything in the app is functioning perfectly. I just want it to look less intense. Instead of the trash icon, just put three dots there that I can then select delete after in like a pop up model. Instead of just having that on all of them, please get rid of the green and blue concept, especially where I write notes. Just make the notes just with a white background with no component around it. I don't like that it is enclosed in that blue thing and just really simplify it and then simplify anything else that you think is good for the video is recorded and saved where it says that we don't need that to be there and we don't need that to be like a whole line because it already says complete at the top. So we just don't even need that. And then for watch the video back, just make it a play button at the bottom right. All right. Now we're having the AI basically edit the app just so it looks a lot better. But we have the basic functionality. We don't have the AI actually. I don't even know if the AI generate works yet. Oh, so we can do content type, frequently asked questions about the app that builds mobile apps, vibe code, five FAQs. So now it's generating. Okay, unlock vibe code. Actually the AI generation already works and it has all the different shots. So the AI already works. I do want to change how it works though. All right, let's go ahead and refresh this. Boom. Okay. Let's click on this one right here. Oh, wow. This looks pretty good. Start with a greeting and intro about vibe code. Who I don't like that. Welcome viewers. Enthusiasm suggested 15 seconds. So vibe code is the easiest way to build an app and get it on the app store. And it is the only mobile app that builds mobile apps very, very well. We can hit use this shot. Boom. So vibe code is the easiest way to build very, very cool. Actually, please get rid of the green all together. Instead, just make the background of the ones that were done, light gray and make the check mark black at the top and say complete, but make the background of it gray. And then at the very top, make the progress bar black and then have the same concept on the main list. When I'm done with all of them and it's complete, please make them light gray. Also, change the AI prompt such that it writes the first sentence that I should say like it's a suggested sentence instead of like giving me tips on eye contact and that shit. Don't do that. Just have it say like write the first one to two sentences and only the one to two sentences. When I AI generate sessions with shots for each shot, it should just have the first sentence and make that sentence like a pretty good hook. So adjust the AI prompt for that. Boom. Okay, let's take a look at this one. So okay, so this is looking good. So session why I use vibe code and now we can go, we can add a shot because it's epic. This is the only app that builds mobile apps and that is why. I'm not sure why it has that like expandable thing, but I do love how this looks right here and I can quickly hit film shot. Here it says because it's epic. I use the app because it's just epic and I absolutely love it. Okay, so one thing I want to do is while I'm filming this, I want to be able to expand it to show the notes too. So when I'm filming, it only shows like the shot, the the shot headline or on shots, there's like the shot details. I want while I'm filming in that black area to be able to press a little carrot that expands it to show the notes as well, not just the main header for each shot. Oh yeah, by the way, if you go to vibe code.dev, you can just use this same app in the web. And so if you find our project, we see that we have this app called shot list studio and everything lines up exactly the same and you can scan the QR code and then get it on your phone. Please also don't put those two buttons create session and AI generate on the main homepage at the top like that. Please put a circle at the bottom with a plus sign that causes a little modal to pop up like a bottom sheet. I want a bottom sheet to pop up where I can select create session or AI generate. And for the AI generate, create a different icon. I don't like that icon. And it is literally the same thing here and now it is generated. And this should update live on the phone. So literally all we have to do is wait and it will automatically update and we can test it immediately on our phone right here. And it's done and boom. So here we see that now it is a black button here at the bottom right. And now we can create session or AI generate, create session. And we can just create a session right here. This is awesome. Please add some padding at the top of the list. So the top one in the list isn't so close to right this horizontal line right here. It's just a little too close. That horizontal line, please. And boom. There we go. We now have our app shot list where we can create lists of shots. We can film shots. We now have this expandable list. Can rotate it. The meaning of life is to be sure of who you are and get closer to happiness. Right. We can use this shot. We can immediately plan. The meaning of life is to be sure of who you are and get that is really, really cool. And we have this app shot list. Maybe one thing that we can do. And by the way, we can just go back and forth. We can use the web or we can use our phone and this stays perfectly in sync. I can actually show you. Please generate using the GPT image model a 3D icon of a camera of a video camera and make that the icon at the top left of the top of this app. Make it a cool 3D render. And you'll notice here as soon as I enter this into the chat here press enter, it's actually going to be entered in both. So your web app and your mobile app stay perfectly in sync, which is very cool. Okay, there we go. Now we have this little video camera icon here at the top. And yeah, we have our app and this is a pretty good MVP. All the videos are stored locally on our phone. We'll talk about exporting them later. Right now, I think this is a really good MVP. We can add things like exporting all of them into CapCut or sending a zip file to your computer for easy editing. We could add automatic captions, but I think it's really important to just start with a good MVP. Get it out there. I think some people will get some value and then add more things as it goes along because you might have some minor errors that you want to fix. And so once we're done here, basically all we got to do is just hit this app store icon. And as long as you have an Apple developer account, you can very easily go through this process here. I'm just going to go cute video camera icon. And we're just generating an app icon and this will be the initial icon. You can change it later on the app store. And so we'll wait for this to finish. And boom, it's this little orange one. That's okay. We're just going to use this for now. I'll change this later. Here we have continued to build setup. Yes, continue. And I am going to just select yes. This is my email that I use for my Apple ID. You need to get an Apple ID. There's going to be a link in the description for those of you who want to know how to do that. And then here's an expo access token. If you don't know what that means, it's free to get. Just click how do I get this token. I've already entered it to submit previous apps to the app store. And so now I just press building your app. And all that's going to do now is it's actually going to send me a code in a few seconds. And then I just type that in. And it will be sent to the Apple app store for review. And you can get it on test flight. And so that is the full way that you go from an idea that we wrote right here. Right. We had this idea. We eventually ideated it and got to our first prompt. And then we put it in the vibe code app. And we iterated on it like 10, 11 times. And now we're sending our app to the Apple app store. And it is building. It is that easy. And it will only get easier as time goes on. The vibe code app will get 100 times easier to get it on the app store. And you will be able to do it directly on your phone very soon. So I hope you got a ton of value out of this video. Please like and subscribe to help send me out a lot. It'll allow me to keep doing these videos. And I'll see you here for the next one.
