Speaker 1All right, we're live here at Royal Randwick this morning for Racing HQ, right across the country on Sky Sports Radio and Radio Tab. And now let's go down to Melbourne because Kieran Marr, who's been at the Caulfield track work this morning, he joins me. Morning, Kieran. I'm actually at Randwick, standing in the middle of the track. You're at Randwick, standing in the middle of the track. There you go. I thought you were down at Caulfield. You're out in the middle. So did you say you were to watch that trial then on the screen? Come on, can we turn this into a bit of a competitive footy match, like two teams? Like, mate, surely from what you've seen with Jorgel on the weekend, you're going to smash this bloke, from what you've seen. Wow, surely. Based off the trial, definitely. Based off the trial, like, Tenton's going to give him Wimburn.
Speaker 2He's only ever been beaten two trials at Randwick, hasn't he?
Speaker 1Yeah, that's exactly right. Last year he was beaten and then he came out.
Speaker 2Randwick is Tempted's favourite track. So, anyway, I'd certainly not deflate it after that. Obviously, he's very good and he's going to be extremely hard to beat. I'm not reading too much into the trial. But, yeah, we're going to be pretty well spot on. We improved from our first to our second. I think we'll improve a bit again.
Speaker 1Is that one of the best performances you've seen from Tempted ever? Her career on the weekend, just the way she did it. I know that some will say that the opposition that she raced on Saturday wasn't the greatest. But, mate, she did it on the clock. And from hearing what you're saying, the way she's recovered has been enormous.
Speaker 2Yeah, they went quick early. And, you know, she was the price she was because of the horse she is. But she treated them with contempt, as the market suggested she should. But I thought she was even more impressive. So, yeah. She'll strip a little bit fitter again. But it's starting to take shape now. And, yeah, we're certainly pretty excited. She should, hopefully, if she lines up in similar form to what she did on Saturday with a slight bit of improvement, hopefully we can give him a run for his money because his last run as well was certainly something to behold.
Speaker 1Yeah. If we do get a bit of rain on the day or we get rain leading into. the event, does that even give you a bit more confidence? Because it does seem like she can go on all services. But when she does have that sting out, she's got that turn of foot.
Speaker 2Yeah, well, exactly. You know, you would probably say that he likes it the firmer, the better underfoot for him. But, yeah, like if we can get some advantage with a bit of give in the track, well, something more to swing our way would certainly take it. But, yeah, she certainly did. She does seem to. She doesn't mind a little bit of give.
Speaker 1What about away from tempted Juju Kibo? Good to see him back in the winter stall. He wins the Metropolitan. And I thought it was a really good ride.
Speaker 2Very good ride, yeah. Yeah, he knew what he had underneath him. He was confident leading in and executed. Great. Sammy's been coming in, doing a lot of work with us. And it was good that he could get rewarded. So, yeah. So, yeah, it was good. Also, we had an amazing journey just trial in behind Kying then.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was going to get to him. I just wanted to ask you about with Juju, though, and Mr. Monaco. Is it Caulfield Cup? Is that the plan for them? Like, what are you going to do to try and get them into the big race?
Speaker 2Well, Mr. Monaco, he did enjoy Flemington. So, whether we go Moonee Valley. Cup into Melbourne Cup. But we'll see, you know, as the Caulfield Cup starts to take shape. And we get to know sort of what track and what sort of conditions they're going to be on. Juju Kibbo, I think he's sort of. They're both sort of on the cusp of getting in, I think. So, we'll certainly consider if they did. And you want to get him to a Melbourne Cup?
Speaker 1Juju? Would you take Juju to a Melbourne Cup? I know the other horse won on Saturday, so he gets the ballot.
Speaker 2Yeah, he would definitely go to a Melbourne Cup. I think he'd run the two-mile. And Juju Kibbo, certainly be a good race to see if he'd run two-mile.
Speaker 1Yeah. So, everything on the card. I guess it's a good conversation to have, then, not having those options. I'll jump back then to that trial. So, what did you make of Amazing Journey? That's the first time that we see him. We saw him at the trials publicly, and he just had a look around. He's got ability, this horse?
Speaker 2He does, yeah. Like, we thought he'd be ideal for the Golden Eagle. You know, his sectionals and splits have been very sharp. He's won over shorter, you know, six furlongs at Ascot, which is stiff up the rise. So, that sort of, we thought, you need to be sort of a 1,400-miler. To do that at Ascot. So, we thought he profiles pretty well. And Nash just got off him and gave him a very good report. So, he's one of our banner horses for our unbridled racing. So, if anyone's keen for a micro share, now's your chance
Speaker 1to get into the Golden Eagle. And you can just jump onto your website for unbridled? Because that's a micro indicator. That's a communication company that you guys have set up at Marr Racing. And it's a good way that people can get involved.
Speaker 2It is, yeah. Unbridledracing.com. Yeah, we've only got two horses at the moment. Over the Bridge is Unbeaten. And this is certainly a standout horse, and he's travelled well.
Speaker 1Well, you have Saffy Osborne out to ride him in the Golden Eagle. Is that a huge possibility?
Speaker 2That is. It's a very big possibility. Yeah, she's. I mentioned it to her the other day, and I'm pretty sure she's going to take the opportunity. So, it'd be great to have her back out here. That's awesome. She's obviously trailblazing over there and going very well. So, she knows the horse good. She knows the horse very well. Obviously, her father trained it, and she rode it. And she's won on it plenty of times. So, yeah, look forward to that as well.
Speaker 1We're live here at Royal Rammock this morning for Racing. Racing HQ across the country. We're chatting with Kira Maher at the moment. The next episode, how good was that last 100, 150 on the weekend? He carried the weight. He motored. Have you been asked, has any slot holder reached out to you at any point during the prep? Maybe. Well, it'd be interesting to see if they did reach out to you during the trials, because he sort of didn't trial maybe like we thought he was going to, but surely there'd be some Everest people sniffing around, but you're obviously going to stick solid for a Coolmore.
Speaker 2Well. Yeah, I'll stick in solid for a Coolmore, but that was very good viewing, wasn't it? Yeah. I haven't been up and about like that for a while. And, yeah, he's a good colt, and there's nothing better than having one return like that. You know, his figures, he had to, natural flings sort of laid it down to him, and he had to pin the ears and really, really stretch. And nothing better than seeing a big colt, a good colt, you know, pin the ears, and really hit the line like that.
Speaker 1How tempting is the Everest? Or how tempting was it when you sort of were making plans for him?
Speaker 2Well, the Everest is tempting, but, you know, he's. It's a field. You know, his goal is to win the Coolmore, to stay in making race. And that's what we're trying to do with him, is make us. I mean, he's a $2.8 million yearling, he's a cracking type, he's got a great pedigree, and if we can secure the Group 1 in the Coolmore, we. I'd rather the studs ringing rather than the Everest slot holders. The slot holders.
Speaker 1Hey, yesterday we saw some movement at the station when it came to Pride of Jenny, and confirmed this morning I saw on Melbourne Radio, Hawley was saying that it looks like Pride of Jenny will be here in Sydney for a King Charles. So, that's officially locked in by you and the team, and that is exciting, mate, because we're going to have a cracking race. That's going to be a beauty.
Speaker 2Yeah, she's just an exciting horse, isn't she? I was still texting Tony Otterbray last night about staying in Melbourne and running in the Cox Plate, but he's. She does have a great record at the mile, and. Just a working chalice. You can do a bit on him. Yeah, do a bit on him. Yeah, she's just an exciting horse, and her record at the mile is probably a fraction better than the 2000, but I did tell him that their light inventory form and her went across the line together in the Australian Cup. I can draw parallels between them as well, but. But, yeah, he's pretty keen to come up here and have a crack at the King Charles.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was going to say, so was it Tony that said, no, mate, I want to come to Sydney? Because it's like he's got unfinished business up here in Sydney, Tony.
Speaker 2Well. He wants to win.
Speaker 1He wants to win this race and beat them.
Speaker 2Yeah, well, so would I. I'd like to win any group. My mother, as a nine-year-old, she's just a special horse. For her to be laying it down as she does, you know, she's just great to watch. She's a lovely horse to train, and now she would have been a terror as a young horse. But, yeah, really looking forward to it. I think she's only going to add to the day, that's for sure.
Speaker 1Hey, I know you're busy out in the middle at Randwick Trackwork, mate, and I appreciate your time. Just before I do let you go, you've got Gringotts. Gringotts and Warney, both known for the Alan Brown. Elias in a Hill Stakes. We're going to see some other runners as well for the stable in Sydney, plus a team in Melbourne. Have you got a couple that our punters listening can just maybe follow when they see these markets pop open later in the week?
Speaker 2Well, I'm just standing here beside Nash. He was very up and about with Gringotts heading to the Alan Brown after this morning's track work. So maybe that's one for the punters. And, uh. Mildura, we should have not a bad day today.
Speaker 1All right, perfect. So we'll follow the stable at Mildura. Appreciate your time. Well done. We're tempted, mate. We'll see you very, very soon. We'll let you get back to work. Cheers.
