Chiefs Keep Rolling, Why the Eagles Season Isn't Over And Apologies to Josh Allen | Ep 207

The episode blends humor, deep analysis, and real-world football drama, covering key moments from the Chiefs' dominant defense and the evolving role of Kenneth Walker in their offense. Jason recounts a hilarious anecdote about a surprise weight drop to a game, illustrating the passion and unpredictability of football culture. The Chiefs' defensive performance, highlighted by standout plays from Nick Bolton and cornerbacks, is praised, while their struggles in short-yardage situations underscore the need for improved execution. On the Eagles side, the team faces severe challenges due to multiple injuries and disorganization, especially in offensive line communication and play execution. A major storyline centers on Jalen Hertz’s serious injury, raising concerns about medical protocols, especially regarding blood clots and post-game scans. The discussion questions whether current protocols adequately protect players and calls for greater transparency and independent medical input. Overall, the show emphasizes accountability, communication, and the importance of addressing controllable factors in team performance, while celebrating resilience and growth in both players and teams. The deeper themes include player safety, the human cost of injuries, and the need for systemic improvements in medical and coaching practices.

- Jason, those (bleep) glutes firing or what, dude? How squat tober going? - Just got done with day, uh, I forget what day we're on, but yeah, got some zurchers in. It was kind of a delo day. - I'm sorry, some, um, zurchers, is that? - Zurchers, zurchers squat, are you aware of zurchers squat? - No, what's the difference between a regular squat and a zurchers squat? - You know, front squat is racked on the front of your shoulders, right? Back squat, racked behind your head. Zurcher, you have racked in your arm, so it's kind of like even more forward. - Ooh, so, man, that's gotta be a (bleep) in the hell of a core workout. - Personally, I like doing back squat in zurcher, part of that's 'cause I can't adequately rack a front squat, my (bleep) elbows and shoulders are all (bleep) up, so I can't even do the proper positioning for it. - The funniest story I, um, I got to tell some friends today was that I got a call at 7/30 in the morning. (laughing) I knew Jason was doing squat tober. He actually asked me how much weight I have in my basement. 92% is true. I didn't even add it up. I just told him, like, how much? How many plates I had? And he was like, "Oh, okay, cool, I'll bring some." So he flew to Kansas City with, what was it, 50 pounds? - Yeah, it was 225s, yeah. - A couple extra plates to throw on the old squat bar. And it was absolutely hilarious. The most meathead thing I think I've ever seen Jason do. I get a call at 7/30 in the morning. And I'm, in my mind, I'm thinking worst case scenario, I'm like, "Oh, shit, just everything okay. "Maybe I have to run Jason to a hospital. He just blew his knee out or something." I don't know. I was worst case scenario of, like, the brain was just waking up and I was like, "Fucking things were firing." I was like, "Oh, you okay?" And Jason said, "Yeah, can you come, can you come spot me?" (laughing) I was just like, "No way." I got my ankle wrapped. He was like, "No, no, no, no, no, this bench. "It's bench, it's not squat." I'm like, "Oh, all right, cool." 'Cause I wouldn't be able to save you if it was a fucking back squat. No, all right, cool, yeah, I'll come down. I'm like walking out of the room and I was like, "This is fucked up." I'm just like, "No, it'd be good. "It'd be good." (laughing) (upbeat music) Welcome back to New Heights. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, a one-dry show brought to you by Nike. How about it? Got the C-C's right there. We're your host, I'm Travis Kelsey. My big brother, Jason Kelsey had a Cleveland Heights. Oh, hi, oh, shout out to the University of Cincinnati, all our bear cats out there. And you know what, shout out to the guards, man. It was a hell of a year. Unfortunately, came up short of the ALCS, but hats off to the raise for a hell of a series and hats off to the guards, man. It's a fun, fun time following you guys all season and another playoff run and can't get up set for back-to-back playoffs and division champs. But gotta keep going, gotta keep letting it fuel you for next year, baby. Let's keep this thing moving though. Subscribe on YouTube wherever you get your podcasts, follow the show and all social media. @duelhideshow with one as for fun clips throughout the week. And this is where Jason tells you what we got coming up. Well, 92% is gonna talk about the chiefs staying unbeaten in Arrowhead with the charges as well as the new Heights tailgate that occurred before the game in the parking lot. We were all there in Arrowhead this weekend. It was a blast. We're then gonna talk about the Eagle situation as well as what's going on with unfortunately, Jalen Hertz. And also the rest of the week six around the NFL. Before we get into that, we're always gonna get into some of that new news. New news is brought to you by Reese's. That's right. Yeah, so Pat and I, we had some smelly salts before the game. I hadn't done a smelly salt in a long time. Sorry, what's that? That's a crazy statement to start off with new news. Man, does it get the juices going? Oh, it goes straight to the fucking brain, hell. There's no way it's good for you. I mean, it has to be ice-watering a little bit, of course. Notice who Matt doing this. Oh, my God, it's so hot. That was a coffee. Little coffee. Little coffee. Little coffee, Pat's a psycho. I love that dude. Every now and then, you need to just get a good reminder of playing ball, man. The D line used to take probably 40 of those things and just like one by one, put him in a water bottle and then put the top on. Then you take that water bottle off and say, I mean, it was easily destroying your nasal cavity. But you don't even have to put it up to the brim of it. You could just kind of just keep it right here, right here. And immediately just eyes and just brain activity, just shits firing. You're ready to rock. Get you fired up. I'd usually do it before first half and before the second half started. Ooh, a little second half. I just need one for the first. I'm ready to be a rock and roll from there, but-- Yeah, it had been a while. It was a good little reminder. I definitely enjoyed it and hated it all at the same time. He's a dead football. It's the best. Chasha was chewing, smelling the salts. What's this Brandon? No, he wasn't chewing him. He was just holding it right here and his teeth, I think. I think I saw this. I think I've actually seen him do it a few times. Yeah, well, he's warming up the arm. He's like, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to waste it before I go. I'm going to-- Yeah, you wait till the last possible second. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ball player. Ball player right there. There's definitely got to be some residual effect, but man, are they great? God, they're so full. I don't, yeah, man, you can't question it, man. Well, you can, you can't question it. There's probably doctors out there that do, but whatever. So I'm playing football. I'm already doing some-- It wakes you up. Let me just go. Yeah, it's just like smelling caffeine, dude. That's all it is. We also got a lot of responses for Thailand's take on team meetings. Tori Smith, one of the top three worst decisions I've made, was to call a team meeting. It made the problems 10 times worse. Oh, shut up the Tori, man. Tori is the best. He's one of my favorite teammates I ever played with. You could tell he's the great teammate, man. The player's meeting, listen, we've all done him. Like, we've all been-- I actually, you might not have been that one. You might be the only one. Maybe you did one in college, but you definitely haven't done one in KC. I mean, here's the thing. They cap him with good intentions, usually. But I just agree. I think what Thailand said is perfect. It's usually for optics. It's like, hey, we're at the point where-- like, we've lost all hope. So we're going to call players only meeting to try and write the ship and get everybody bought back in. And most of the time, it's, you know, I just don't know how much it's accomplishing. I don't know. Philadelphia is probably one week away from players meeting. It might happen this week. I just-- Yeah, that's-- Ryan McNity had an interesting tweet. I was going to say-- I was going to say-- It was actually hilarious. It was absolutely brilliant. And to be honest, kind of eye-opening on, do they-- maybe do they work? They don't not work as aggressive as I thought they didn't. They don't work really in any statistical significant way long term. Long term. The way that they potentially work is the first game after a player's team meeting. It does appear that there is some statistical data to support that first game after a player's lead team meeting being a little bit better against the spread, like the team performs slightly above what they are expected to do. They cover the spread 63% of the time after a player team meeting. But yeah, great work by Ryan Pagnetti or Senior Correspondent of Analytics or Numbers. That's it for new news, brought to you by Reese's. All right, now let's get you some bold topics brought to you by American Express. All right, Jason, you want to start your talk with-- Yeah, let's do it. Chiefs 22, Chargers 6. Tram, how'd you feel about the game, man? Man, a lot of our defense is flying around right now, man. They are flying around. That's-- I think we had four or five sacks this week. A lot of pressures. A lot of PBUs, it was just-- it was electric to feel the crowd get behind them. There were two or three drives there in the third and fourth quarter. I forget which one it was. Where you-- all of a sudden, I'm on the bench. I hear the fucking-- I hear the crowd get rocking at Arrowhead where I had to get up and start to get rowdy with them. Yeah. It's moments like those that you just-- I just love playing at Arrowhead, man. I love having it as our home field advantage. And they ended up having to call the time out. I think it was when they were backed up on about the one yard line. I think we fell up short as an offense, getting a touchdown on fourth down. And they had it on the one yard line. And sure enough, man, I was on the bench. I fucked, man. We got to find a way to get that ball on that end zone. And then the crowd just snapped me right out of it, man. And our defense is rocking, man. All the speculation about losing a guy like Trent McDuffy. That's the one that stood out to me in the game. We talked about it afterwards. That kid Williams, man. No, no, it was a fucking dog, man. And he's a ball player, man. Unfortunately, I had some stuff go down where you got banged up a little bit early on, but fought through it, man. I just love fucking-- I love guys that love ball and they're just tough as nails, man. Yeah. When you have corners that aren't afraid to commit themselves and tackle the run of back and commit to the running game as well, and are good in coverage. Like those guys are valuable as hell, man. He had that one play. I think they're trying to run like a toss crack or some outside play. And he knifed under the pulling or kick out player, and made the tackle for loss. And then also made a bunch of plays in the back end. Lajerius Sneed is back to playing really, really good football for you guys. Montsoor Delane, like Spags. We should've known. Like Spags. He's going to get those guys to play really well. But that was a question mark. And they have answered that one for sure. Nick Bolton had a fourth quarter that I'll-- I don't remember the specific plays outside of that last fumble that they had that Drew Trinket had. will jump on. But man, it just felt like every single play that a guy on the charge has got the ball and Nick Bolton was closed line at number decleating them or just getting a good fucking solid like smack on him. And it just felt it felt like he was flying all over the place man. And that guy doesn't get enough credit for for being the staple that that makes the entire engine run over there on the defensive side with him being the the signal caller. And it's just you know, it's it's fun playing with an amazing defense, especially when you know, we finally get some things rocking on the offensive side and get some touchdowns, but you know, we we struggled a little bit by self-inflicting wounds and and just like small stuff here and there that we that we got to keep getting better at. And we will and we will because we're we're going to go to work. But man, it's it's a fun team to play on right now. Man, when everybody's getting a piece of the pie and everybody's contributed. Well, it's interesting is one of the areas that we're probably the underperformances was like three possessions inside the two yard line, only one touchdown. It's surprising too because typically teams that run the ball really well, they get in the end. Like that's where you need to run the football. Those windows in the passing game are so tight down there. You're trying to develop like pick routes and any type of way you can get any kind of leverage. But with a guy like K nine, like you would think with the way the offense line has been blocking two, we'd be getting more points out of those situations. We got to keep finding ways to score touchdowns. And it's and it's like you said, it's that short yardage. It's not the big red zone. It's it's inside that five yard line. We're getting all the way down there. Yeah, we got to be able to fucking punch it in, especially if coach Rees going to put it on us on fourth down, no matter who's out out there on the field. That plays called man, we fucking execute the play and we find a way to grit ourselves into that end zone, man. And that's got to be the fucking mentality. And and it will be well, you were also given some mentality to the rookie Cyrus Allen fellow bear cat. We got your hype. And I'm up in the tunnel here. Let's play that clip. Oh, pregame, pregame, nice, pregame. Yeah, this is just me saying what's up to everybody before it. Um, what is this? What is this? It's all good. It's all good. I mean, it was my, it was my guy's Cyrus is a, I believe this is this first time running out of the tunnel, getting his name called Neanna Philman, which is a pretty cool fucking feeling. And I, I sure as hell, you know, relishing it every time I get the opportunity to run out in front of Arrowhead and get introduced. So I was just going out to him to ask him if he's got anything for the crowd. He was going to give it, but give, like, I don't know, his signature mover anything cooler. And he was just excited to, you know, ready to play football and get the opportunity. He knew that we were going to have to lean on him a little bit in the passing game. He got two, two receptions for 27 yards. One big one after we had a penalty there. And I believe the, the third or fourth quarter. And yeah, man, I'm just, I'm happy for that guy. He's a, he's a hard worker. Obviously a bearcat, a fellow bearcat, but who he's been in the building. It's been awesome to see him just transform into, you know, being somebody accountable to go out there and help us win ball games, man. That's right, baby. It was accountable this week. Two for two 27 yards made the most of his opportunities. Kenneth Walker also pretty accountable. Nancy cares for 128 yards, two touchdowns. I think you have it's like 6.7 yards carry. Let's take a look at his first touchdown. Give nine the ball. Been saying that shit since he came into Kansas City. I mean, completely dead. Pause right there. Chiefs are trying to encounter. And it is just blown up the tackle. Who is that? Is that Benson? He kind of gets pissed on the backside. I mean, we got, we got some, we got some, what is it? Some defense of push there on just about every gap right there's just logged up. The problem is they're slanting the front and Benson. I don't know if you knew. Go back to the start. Let me see this. Let me see if they can tell that the guard is pulling. Sometimes it makes it hard on that gaps. You'll funnel block by the tackle. That tackle's got to go down there and try and prevent that guy from getting that gets penetration. Everybody else is getting knocked back to him. His play is fucked. I think the movement kind of fucked up a lot of guys on this one. It's a miracle that he got in, but this is why you pay the guy all the money. There you go. The guy's got crazy instincts, man. It's plays like this where it's like we have what it, we have what it takes even when, you know, they got us, you know, we still have what it takes in the guys to be able to find a way to get the ball in the end zone. We just got to keep doing it. How about patty, but homes right there thrown a little shoulder. I mean, yeah, he probably doesn't, you thought it was a score if he doesn't do that. Oh, you need to go pat and Kevin Harley giving me some love for blocking. I didn't block a soul, Kevin, but I love you, man. Thank you for that. The DN knife, the tackle, Creed's getting, they were, they must have been slighting hard on the back side because those guys didn't look like they're ready for it. Anyways, whatever. It's a touchdown. Let's see the second touchdown. Hopefully that one's prettier and Walker the call. Exact same place. Ray Smith. Oh, I love it. Oh, it's so good. Ray Smith on the pool. And that's not that is a big son. That is a mean man. Five two that he's pulling at the blitz and a DB off the end of the line. And usually the end is spiking so hard. It's impossible for the guard to kick it out. But Ray Smith meets this thing head on with Khalil Mac right here play it. And he makes this play because that end is he's trying to spill it. Like if the, if the end gets under tray here, the ball is going to spill right to zero who's on the end of the line. Trade is a great job of maintaining hat placement and fit in this thing outside. Actually, I'd like his head a little bit more inside, but either way, I'm not going to knock it that much because it's effective. At the end of the day, man, do you hit a guy hard enough? And then he gets the pancake on top of it. A little bit on top of himself, too. And it's hard. I mean, body is hard to tackle somebody with a body when you're on the ground, maybe that can't iron with the ability to separate man. Trains and playing great Kingsley. I know he was suspended last week. Came back at a good game this week. Hell yeah. When you have a back as good as Kenneth is like as good as Walker is, it really makes you feel like you're going to be successful as a block or two. Oh, yeah. Like that energy. It's not just like because he's running hard. It's because no matter what you do, he finds a way to a way to make you right. Like I just knew when I was pulling out and I had shady or darren sproles behind me, it didn't matter what the linebacker did. If he went this way, that's right. Exactly. And like Walker just has that kind of feel where it makes you more confident as an offensive lineman. And those guys are playing great as a result as well. The biggest thing that's been crazy is how much the chiefs offensive shifted, right? Like you did it the first game, but it stayed consistent right now through these first six weeks. What went into changing how the chiefs have been their identity all around one player in Kenneth Walker, Trev? And don't give me wrong. The offense is, it's, it's still a very similar offense. It's just kind of tweaks over the years, just in certain, in certain scenarios. Yeah. I would, I would, I would, the playbook doesn't change. Like a lot of these plays you guys are running. You guys have run years. That's what I said. But the, but the identity is different. You guys are more under center than you've ever been. You're running more than you've ever run. Like it, it is a different offense of what's being called. But that's one of the beautiful things about Andy Reed is all of it's in the playbook. And he's going to call what is the best suited to the guys that he has available. What he thinks is the best suited for it. So exactly. And to be honest, dating back to when we had a guy like Jamal Charles back in my early years, a lot of under center, a lot of downhill outside zone that, that, you know, highlighted Jamal's ability to get down hill and weave and make the cuts that, you know, only Jamal Charles could make. And a lot of this is putting Kenneth in a position that showcases his talents. And it's just, it's great, uh, run game coordinator, uh, coach, uh, coach, heck is unbelievable. Obviously, be enemy coming from, uh, come from Chicago and under Ben Johnson, I'm sure has the, has only made him, uh, even more of a piece in, in the run game in terms of creating it and, um, and we can week out. We're, we're getting opportunities to not only run off the ball as an offensive unit and, and see how we're going to attack guys and, you know, uh, and do that in the run game. But then, you know, have passing plays in, in within that, you know, those formations that compliment those run games that are really opening things up for guys like Xavier worthy to have unbelievable day. Got like Jalen Royles have a great day and know, and know a great have a great day. Uh, so it's like the, it's just complimenting it and, and making us a really, uh, all around, uh, you know, kind of just feels like it's a more in sync offense than it definitely was last year. So it's fun to be a part of it and it's fun to see all the new success that we're having, knowing that, you know, a couple of guys went down and, um, and, and Kenneth being, uh, it's his first year here in Kansas City. I just think to like Andy is such a matchup driven coach. Like he's very good at finding pieces that he wants to do certain things on the football field. Like what, not just what they're doing with Kenneth Walker this week, but what they're doing with Xavier worthy, right? In years past, what they would do with Tyree Kill and what they would do with Hartman and like they, I feel like Andy always is trying to run an offense that's skilled and suited for the guys that he has. Right. And now that they have that piece and they feels like they wanted to go get that piece because they felt like they were missing it. He's putting everything around them and that's opening things up like you're saying for all these other guys to then make plays off of that. So, um, I think it's awesome. I really do. We're going to LeBron Stets since 1970. Only two players have scored multiple touchdowns in the four of their teams. The first five games of the season. That is a LeBron Stets. That is a LeBron Stet and that is Calvin Johnson Jr. and Kenneth Walker the third. Nice, nice, nice, nice. 2011 for Calvin. Travis, you might have a LeBron Stet as well with four catches. from yesterday. Travis reads exactly 1,100 career regular season receptions, just the seventh player ever and only the third tight end NFL history. Yeah, I played for a long time. My home is also tied for fastest quarterback to reach 100 wins. Tied Tom Brady. Wow, it's a good way out of tie. He's a pretty good winner. I love football games. Home's post game said the struggles last year put football in a perspective and reminded him to just have fun when he's out there. Let's take a look at his link. I mean, last year to me put just football in perspective. Like, we've played in some, we've played in so many Super Bowls and especially those last few, it's like we kind of, I don't want to say coasted, but we didn't play our best football in the regular season and we just turned on the playoffs and even last year, my stuff wasn't going right, I was like, we're going to figure it out. It's just going to happen. I think today it's for me, it's about the process and having to go to that rehab process and not play football, it's really made me enjoy the process of it and enjoy practicing and enjoy just being in the building and getting here game day and getting to play at Arrowhead and so I try to have fun out there and enjoy the wins because you never know when it's going to be your last one and you want to take advantage of every opportunity, get the step in the field and so I think last year in general put everything and perspective for me to just have fun when you're out there. Yeah, I mean, I, I get it, I just think I always would have like, you know, coaches like, man, we just got to go have fun or like just enjoy the moment. If we're getting our ass kicked, it ain't going to be fun. I don't want you to tell you like it fun is directly correlated with whooping somebody's ass. Like if you're getting your ass, there's nothing more infuriating than losing and seeing teammates happy and go lucky and just like, and I've been there. I've been, I'm like, listen, I'm a glass half full, glass is always full kind of guy and you know, I've had to catch myself like, man, we got to get back to the fucking drawing board, man. And it's just, it's a shitty feeling when you lose, man. And I think that that that sour taste in our mouth that you just heard Pat Mahomes talking about right there, everybody in the fucking building felt that, you know, and it wasn't just, you know, the players and coaches, man, it was everybody in the building. And I'm just glad that, you know, we took the necessary steps and took the necessary mindset to be able to not get caught in that mode and to find a way to enjoy the game with football the way that we know how. So she said to Seattle for the Kenneth Walker homecoming rematch game, not even rematch just the game for, obviously, you want us your bowl there last year was your goal MVP now in the Chiefs uniform, Ceeox fans were at Arrowhead this week. Apparently, do you know this trip? I did not. I did not know this. That's great. That's great. No way. Seattle is a place. I don't know if I've won in Seattle. It is a tough place to fucking play, man. You go up there to that Northwest with those twels flying around man. And especially this year's team, they always have a good defense. This team is, they got a little bit of bully ball mentality. It's a tough team. They fly around kind of in your face all the time, especially on the defensive side. And, and we know how good Sam Darnold is and Jackson, Smith and Jingbaugh. And I got nothing but a ton of respect for them. And obviously Cooper Cup, our guy, a friend of the show, they're three and three that fending champs three and three. They're going to fucking be pissed. You know, if they're not already, they're going to be coming, they're going to come out and we're going to have probably our biggest challenge already to date. And we got to, we got to go to work this week, man. We got to figure some things out. Really, you know, about our eyes and cross our teeth to make sure that we're fucking ready for this. And, and, and, you know, I'm excited for the challenge, baby. There's nothing better than, than, than, than playing the best or playing the team that won at last and getting a, getting an opportunity to really challenge yourself and the guys around you to go up into a hostile environment that we know Seattle is and get a win then. Yeah. I mean, listen, it's a very difficult place to play. There's only two teams that I didn't beat in the history of my career trip. Do you know the two teams? Seattle. The Steelers. The other one is going to blow your mind. But it's, it's an AFC team, which I only played like three times, I think, but not the Steelers. No rounds. It is the AFC North. We did beat the rounds. No, we beat the rounds. That was there. Um, it's got a, it's only one team left then. Well, there's two, but the bangles, bangles are the ones. Wow. Never beat Cincinnati. That's best, the best, best, well, we only played them like three times. I think of my career. But best we ever did was tide them. I know. Gross. I don't know if that was my last year or second or last year, but you had tied Cincinnati and never beat since Seattle had a chance my last year. And honestly, I'm the reason we lost because I freaking moved the ball a little bit forward on the quarterback sneak and they called a false star. It was that game. It was that game. But we were pretty much, if we would have scored that drive, it would have ended it pretty much. So that'd be so hard on yourself. Honey, thank you to our presenting sponsor, Nike. The Caitlyn ones did a just drop. It moved. That's right. That's the CC effect she fills arenas. She breaks records and she's building something bigger than the game itself. You're gassed. You hit the sideline. Someone handed you a cup of water and a Reese's. Okay. Which one are you reaching for first? I mean, that peanut butter chocolate delight that Reese's peanut butter cup every time. That's what I'm saying. Very close attention this season. You may realize everything happens for a Reese's. Eagles 14 Panthers, 25 Panthers are playing some good ball right now, man. Whether you're thoughts on the game, Jason. Obviously, the Eagles are not a good football team right now. They're not playing well. The defense is doing good on their side of the ball, even though it wasn't their best game, but it's like they they're being put in so many tough situations week after week at this point. You know, offensively, they're just really struggling to get any type of rhythm. And I get like, listen, they're playing with their fourth string as the starting center. The third string center is playing left guard. Their second string center is hurt. Their first string center is in Baltimore. Their left guard is out. The right guard right tackle retired. So now they're playing with the rookie right tackle. Both are starting running backs are out. Their third fourth string running back is out. The tight end missed substantial time to start receiver. The amount they submit has been out for quite a bit. I mean, it's now the quarterbacks out. I mean, to say that Sean Manion has been dealt a very difficult hand would probably be an understatement. Chris Cooper, the offensive line coach, like, you know, it is so hard when you have guys in and out of line up up front to maintain the cohesion and everybody on the same page necessary to achieve in the run game and to be a good unit. And it's very difficult when guys don't have the reps together aren't communicating together and don't have that kind of like feel of what another guy's about to do. And you know, they've struggled. And that's the biggest thing. Obviously, I'm an offensive lineman. And you know, there's the blitz pickups and it's not just the offensive line. You know, the running backs being involved in it, the quarterback adjusting it when necessary. You're getting to plays if it's zero blitz or what are the adjustments? The play actions. There's guys been running free. And I know that there's been so many injuries, but at some point we have to see a progression of things getting better. And I just yeah, it doesn't feel like that's happening. The first play of the game Tanner McKee is trying to send a guy in motion to the left. It looks like he Forgets that the motion is supposed to come to the other side so halfway through the tight ends moving over here And then he realized oh, then he starts motion in this guy over Then he's alerting it the line is looking confused and then the right and left sides of the line run into each other They're both going the opposite way and a linebacker and a free safety come unblocked on a play at your protection and it's a sack for like 10 yards First play first play Travis the one that we know that we're starting the game with for over 24 hours Like and don't get me wrong. I've been a part of I've been a part of it I don't know sides and a dummy cadence not even there hasn't even been a play like everybody said it, but there's just There's been a recurring pattern and eventually man. I know that there's been so many guys in and out But you have to overstate communication you have to make sure the one thing We can't have when backups are in the game is guys not doing their assignments Not being on the same page Like all of those things have to be at a premium because we're playing with guys that typically don't have the physical traits that the starters do I get that it's a hard situation. I get that the coach has been put in bad situations with all the injuries and guys in and out of the line up But it has to be better than what it has been and It's on all these guys need to be throughout the week overstate the communication overstate where we're going It's been a very frustrating Game to watch the last three weeks and two of them they should have won like They were right there to win. Yeah, so it's you know, it's it's a frustrating time to be in an Eagles fan and Watching this team right now offensively play football. So yeah, the biggest story Around Philly outside of the struggles on the field is obviously Jalen hurts Jalen has started quarterback in a terrifying situation from a far And hearing about what he's going going through not really Understanding you know what that world means in terms of blood clots and things that that are going on with him Health wise, it just all sounds very terrifying and uh, I think we're all rooting for Jalen to get as healthy as possible ASAP Yeah, the Eagles have finally came out with some statements and we're starting to kind of get caught up on on things that the Protocols that were taken and things that have happened and the Eagles have had one statement They've released a sheet and that's that's kind of what they've stuck to they really haven't offered and it's like Nick Sireon he did a press conference yesterday. I don't know what he did on the radio or anything today So maybe this has changed, but they're really Sticking with the statement that was released by the team and Jalen hurts his representatives Listen, people just want answers because I think this is obviously a very serious situation people want to know that Jalen hurts was Received the adequate and responsible medical advice and precautions given the circumstances and There's questions and I think the media is doing their responsibility by asking these questions I think fans obviously have a desire to know You know what all when in place to at the end of the day put Jalen hurts in a very serious scary position Of having blood clots and now being out for the full year. So understandable that the fans in media want these answers The Eagles are sticking to this statement probably because they want to make sure that they are saying everything Correctly and in the appropriate way Nick Sireon did say something today. It looks like I didn't see this what did what's it say your trip? Nick Sireon today said you can say a lot of things about me, but what you can't say is I don't care about our guys You aren't around every day to truly understand that and you only hear our words But ask our guys listen, I there's I am not a medical doctor There are a lot of other people that are not medical doctors that are offering Perspectives on this that I think is a little bit negligent into assigning blame or assigning no practice or assigning Whatever like there's a lot happening right now if there's one thing I will vouch for I'll vouch for Nick Sireon in this and I'll vouch for the doctor like the doctor is that I Know that work with the Eagles treated me phenomenally in my time in Philadelphia. I don't know What the proper procedure is it does seem like the Eagles followed a protocol for superficial Blood clots and unfortunately this thing developed whether it was a result of Jalen playing in the game or whether it was a solid in these flights I have no idea now it looks terrible because of what ended up resulting The one thing I wish would have happened in hindsight is I wish they would have done a scan after the game Because it does appear like the thing that really had a major impact in this is the flights Like that does appear to have an impact with everybody because you're sitting there. You're not moving the pressure has some Way of it like affecting the the blood flow and all this other stuff As a matter of fact when you have these blood clots Supposedly if they're not dangerous they advise you being physically active like it's supposedly good Because you want your blood to continue moving you don't want it clotting more or whatever Regardless I just wish there was more medical doctor speaking on this with actual Evidence and understanding of it. I know it's different for each case like it matters where the blood clot was How big it was how close it was to these other arteries and at the end of the day It developed into something that in hindsight nobody would have wanted this to get to this point So it looks bad and I feel for Jalen Hertz I mean this dude has been a warrior in Philadelphia and for this to be You know what it's gotten to is terrible right it sucks Um, I don't know if the protocols will change moving forward. Maybe the medical community is learning something from this I don't I have no idea but um, I do think and know That the medical doctors that I know in Philadelphia I I have always trusted them and I would still trust them Um, and I do know the next area and it cares about his guys deeply that is for sure I can't even fathom this happening let alone it happening overseas Um, you know, I could him having to leave the the hotel the night before to to get some scans done I mean, this is just this is it's crazy stuff In Tom Pellicero released a report about like the sleep in 36 hours and Then he retracted it. I I it feels very hard to offer any type of legitimate critique or uh You know Backing of what happened because you just don't know the details. Well, do you want to at least uh We can speak from kind of just the player standpoint of um and talk talk through the to the 92% is about how medical testing is done Maybe not this specific type or how self-reporting injuries Can happen in the league It's very seldom that I that something happens in the game and I have to come back A couple days later to Report it to the team if they didn't already know about it during the game Yeah, you know, and and that's that's always a little eye-opening I think from the doctor standpoint, you know because it's something that you know Um, maybe snuck up on somebody or it's it's something a little more serious than than the player thought during the game Um, and that sounds like what what the initial uh cause of this uh Caff injury was for Jalen well the yeah the initial cause was the week before Right, he was cleated and he noticed some pain in his calf before the flight they flew he got the ultrasound And that's when they found the superficial blowcloth It was then advised by the doctors in place. I don't know which doctors. It's just saying doctors I don't know if these are team doctors or experts in this specific field Advise that it was okay for him to play the game and to rescan 72 hours later and it seems Depending on where the blood clot is and it's You know where it is located in relation to other major blood vessels or whatnot that that is a Like a standard procedure and I'll say I was calling the game like I there was something very weird happening before the game And the fact that you know for warmups Jalen didn't come out right away for warmups Like he got added late in the week to the injury report for the calf and I remember thinking that's weird like to be out of this late Like typically you don't see guys added that late with soft tissue stuff So I made a note of that and then all of a sudden before the game He's not coming out for warmups. I'm like man This calf might be more serious than they're letting on like maybe this is something like it's a it's like a legitimate injury And then before the before the game he wasn't even out there for The national way the entire other the entire team was out there and Jalen weren't in the the producers are in our year Saying like yeah Jalen hurts isn't on the field. I'm like What is what's going on right now? This feels very strange So man it felt weird before the game um They didn't do a lot of quarterback runs and a lot of like push pushes or anything they did none of it And I thought of my head. I'm just saying maybe this calf injury is bigger than they're kind of making it out to be and then a couple days later they kind of let loose with all this stuff and I'm like oh my god I wish they would have reskanned him after the game. to see if the blood clout had moved as a result of football. Because right now, because they didn't do it after the game, and they did it after the flight with the way it's developed, no one knows that this move is a result of him playing football or did it move as a result of the flight. And like if it moved as a result of playing football, is there a different procedure that should have been followed? And in the future, is there a different way we should handle these things for players so that they don't develop into occurrences like this? For most of the medical people that I've seen talking about it, they do say that it's rare that if this was in a specific spot and the way they handled it, then it would develop and it would have developed. It feels like if they would have just had that one scan after the football game, it would have made the decision of playing him clear of whether that was the cause of what moved the blood clout. And then we would know whether he should have got on the flight back home, all of these things. We have this question in the rundown, I think. How much say do players have and whether they play or not? I think to an extent, something like this, from what I've been in in Kansas City, the doctors have always been more on the line of caution and not playing if it is a serious case. In terms of soft tissue stuff, things like a rolled ankle, things like that, like that aren't as detrimental or could possibly be a bigger injury or something like that that's life-threatening. I think they'll kind of let the player give his intake a little bit more and kind of persuade. But at the same time, I can't remember a time where it's something serious and a guy is being forced to go out there and play. Usually it's a complete opposite what you're saying. The precaution becomes like significant. If you have a broken rib, they won't let you play because if you have a fractured rib, they won't let you play because a chance that rib could break and then puncture an internal organ. If you have a neck fracture or a neck small thing, they don't mess around with like spinal things, anything with the heart. Ryan Clark, like Tomlin came on last week on this show and talked about they wouldn't let Ryan play in Denver because of the sickle cell trait and the fact that if you had, if you'd started bleeding, something severe could have happened at altitude. So that is typically the way I've always seen the doctors in Philadelphia handle things and around the league. Or the pedic and like having a knee or an ankle or shoulder, things that are not life-threatening. It's more on the player of like, hey, this is where you're at. It's kind of about how you feel. If you want to go, you can. Or, hey, we don't think you should go. That's completely different. This stuff is like usually, usually they do not clear guys unless they feel very, very confident that it's not a life-threatening thing or something that could develop into that. Which is why this is so crazy because it's like, you know, it did develop into something that is life-threatening. I think in terms of that, are there independent doctors who weigh in or it's just team doctors? It's got to be more than one, especially in a serious matter like this. Now you bring up a good point because like with something this serious, you would think this would be a secondary opinion deal from Jalen's team as well. Like, you know, most very severe injuries at this point in the league, players will get second opinions from other medical doctors and orthopedic people. It's almost like your agent just naturally does that. Like anytime I got something serious, J.B. Jason Bernstein would be like, "Hey, we're going to send this to, you know, Dr. Millett because he knows elbows or shoulders or whatever. Hey, we're going to send this to that." So it is, this whole situation is, you know, horrible. Like obviously, you know, Jalen is out for the season. He's out for his extended period of time. And more importantly, that this was something that could have turned into something life-threatening. And thankfully, from all the indications that are coming out now, it appears like everything is stable. It isn't life-threatening. He's going to go on the blood thinners now. And it should be something that he recovers from there saying. So all of that is outstanding news. And I think the thing that everybody should be happy that he's going to be okay. But yeah, I do understand the desire for more answers. And people why I need to find out what all went into it and wasn't handled properly. I think that's only natural. So. My heart's in our minds are with you, Jalen. And hopefully you get healthy as soon as possible, man. This is just a bump in the road for you, brother. We got a tweet from Parkinson, Mike's J. Jason, we Eagles fans need your honesty desperately. All right. The NFC East is very winnable. It's very winnable still. It is, it is. The NFC East is winnable. I don't think the Eagles fans or Eagles are going to be happy winning a bullshit division that everybody sucks in and sneaking into the playoffs. I think that, you know, the Eagles from what the expectations were coming into the season and where the team is, I think, want to be competing for shootballs. Like, I know I'm not going to be happy if the Eagles sneak in with like a 500 record and make the playoffs because Dallas, Washington and the Giants fucking shit the bed. But what if you get healthy throughout that 500 record? And all of a sudden the playoffs, you finally get things clicking. Well, that's the different thing. And that's what they're asking is the season lost? Like, listen, it is not good right now. But there are guys that are going to get healthy. We're going to get Saicon Barclay back. We're going to get, uh, tank Bigs be back. We're going to hopefully this offense line with more reps. We'll divide this person back this week. Hopefully with more reps with the offensive line, they will be getting a better cohesion and we'll be on the same page better. Um, I think uh, Tanner McKee obviously in his first start. Um, had some good plays. Didn't play great. We had a lot of pressure at times. Hopefully he can continue to develop into a rhythm now with Jalen out for a substantial time. So listen, the defense has been playing pretty darn well outside of the Chicago game. And when you have a great defense, you're going to be in games. If they can get this thing going to just a little bit better. They don't even have to be a top tier offense with the way this defense is playing at times. Just don't put them continually in bad spots. Um, you know, I think that the Eagles can be absolutely turned us around. Um, now with every loss, it gets less and less optimistic. Uh, but you know, I, I still think they have good players in that building. And you just got to like listen, it's going to take work. It's going to take these coaches, these players, everybody coming together. To continue to take care of the things that are controllable. The first play of the game, guys going the wrong way. That shouldn't happen. And that should be the emphasis. That's, and I know it is. I know Nick is going to be in the team, meaning saying this is unacceptable. Take care of the little things like assignment, proper technique. Everybody being on the same page. That is half of this thing. Even the offensive line. Like listen, guys are going out and battling. There's worse off into lines from a player to player standpoint in the league right now. It is really a lot of it is just like a guy here not going the right way. A guy here kind of getting undercut by the linebacker. Like the running back not being accountable on this play. Like not knowing where the, the play action guy is with the tight and slicing back. Like it's. That's what's frustrating is like it does feel like a lot of it is correctable. But at some point, unless you get corrected, you continue to lose faith in it. So the optimistic side of me says like, okay. Just take care of the little things. And the offense is going to be functioning at a much better level. The side that is growing that is pessimistic is like, well, why aren't we fixing these things? And I get that there's guys in and out of the lineup and that creates harder to fix those things that we're talking about. Yeah. But you know, that's what you need. We need to see improvement in that area desperately as fans and as people watching it. And the Eagles need to improve in those areas as well. One of my favorite sayings by Coach B. Enemy is you've got to give yourself. We have to give ourselves a chance to have a chance. It's such a football like no matter which way you say it, right? Yeah. But it's literally you've got to be able to do the little things that you know you control like Jason's saying. The formational stuff, the assignment stuff, are we going to the right people? Do we have the right technique going on? How can we control what we do to give ourselves the best chance? And you'd be surprised. If you just give yourself a fucking chance, how good you can fucking be in the league. And I know last year when we were struggling, we weren't giving ourselves a fucking chance. I was the fucking first one dropping passes that were right in the fucking bread basket. Yeah, we've all been. And it's, but that's what I'm saying. And it's things like that that you just got to find a way to, you know, fix those things, correct those things. Change the fucking routine Monday through Friday. I know. Change what you're doing. Change, change how you're watching film. Change how you're, how you're working on, you know, your footwork and practice. do something different and extra to try and find. the, the, the, the, the, the flaw and fix the flaw. I know this. When you have guys in and out or when you're, or even when you don't have guys in that, when there are issues like what the Eagles have been having, I am going to overstate communication. Like, I am going to make it obvious. I don't give a fuck if the defense knows I don't give a shit. I don't want to make sure that the fucking right guard and right tackle know where they're going. So I'm going to fucking tell everybody. I don't go fuck this guy knows it to D slip. I'm going to tell you D slip the 50 fucking two. Don't fucking run around and let him undercut you because they fucking have done it on film. I'm going to tell the fucking quarterback. Hey, this is the point. And the quarterback it knows who he's hot off of. You tell the fuck a receiver. Hey, side adjust. If this guy comes fucking turn into whatever. Hey, there's die. God, dude, you're going to be the hell of a fucking ball coach when you want to, man. Whenever you sign up for that fucking opportunity, dude, you're going to be a hell of a ball. Well, everybody's going to hate me. The Bella Check 2.0 you'll be the the once you've been around for while you just know, you know, like when there's been something sitting around like there's a disturbance, right? The snap down is taken. I don't want Bella Check the film. Everybody loved playing. I don't think Bella Check gives a fuck to say. To say. All right, let's move on. I don't know. Sailing November 2026 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Visit Royal Caribbean.com to learn more. Let's get to the rest of week six. There are still three undefeated teams. Travis, the chiefs Vikings who had a buy this week and the Niners who almost lost Washington, they kind of almost came back. You got to see that one first hand. It was all Niners in the first half. Washington kind of mounted somewhat of a comeback attempt. They're late. Windless are the dolphins and chargers, thanks to partly the Kansas City chiefs for keeping the chargers under unwinding, unwinnable, unwind, unwind. Windless is bad. Windless is bad. Titans got their first win of the season against the Colts and probably the most like impressive winning way. Colts immediately fired GM Chris Ballard. Do you see this? The Colts were really they were in control of the game and then it really was like three possessions back to back to back where they had a I think a fumble and they had a punt return that was huge and then they had a blocked punt for a touchdown. The punt return team won the game for the Titans, which special teams doesn't play a huge factor all the sudden is winning games. Jacksonville against the Eagles last week. Titans this week. I love it when special teams get some bold. Fuck yeah. Damn Patrick said they are looking at Peyton Manning, but who knows Peyton Manning, GM Peyton Manning, what do you think, Trevor? I mean, yeah, they can get them. I would tell you, you fucking kidding me. So teaming up with Peyton Manning on the football world, why the fuck wouldn't you? It worked one time and one of the most brilliant fucking football minds there are. Yeah, it just seems like he's buttoned up in everything in life and I mean him being a GM definitely fucking fits them all. I had heard that they were going to try and get him to help with like the search in the GM. I did not know they were actually looking at him. But yeah, I mean, like I don't think there's a chance that help Peyton takes it, but if he does, that's a no brains of big job, man. It's a big job. And he does a lot of stuff obviously with ESPN and all the Omaha productions. So who knows if that's something that's appealing to him, man. Hopefully Carly Ursa is working the phone lines. That's for sure. What else we got? A more surprised by the Rams losing to the Cardinals. Rams are two and four Cardinals are four and two. So we're more surprised about the Rams being at the bottom of the NFC West or the Browns being atop the FC North. Ooh, what's more surprising? I think the Browns. I think the Browns. Dude, the Rams were supposed to win the Super Bowl before the season that they had the they had this monster team. I hear the both surprising. Yeah. And don't get me wrong. Everybody's still in like this thing. You know, it's two and four and only six games in, but in the entire season ahead of them. But at the same time, if you would have told me the Rams are two and four at this point or the Browns were four and two, I would have been like, dude, the Rams having a losing record, six games in. I would have never guessed. I would have never guessed either of them. I agree with you. I think the Rams being two and four is shocking. Last time the Browns were in first place in week six or later was week 10 of 2014. Well, this is why, dude, I think the Browns is more surprising that they're four two and that they're atop the FC North. I just like, after the first game, especially, I did not think the Browns might win one game. Like they looked atrocious in that first game. I hear you. And listen, we'll find out since then that Jacksonville is just a really good football team. But I just don't think the Browns winning this year was on anybody's bingo card. All of the drama between Shidoor Sanders and Deshaun Watson, who's going to be the quarterback. The way the defense looked at first week, Miles Garrett Leven, Todd Monkey was under a lot of criticism. People talking about him getting that job to begin with. I think it's an incredible testament to Monkin and what the Browns have been able to do since then to be at the top of the FC North. Now, listen, they beat the Ravens yesterday who didn't have Lamar Jackson, like whatever. The Browns have been overachieving by quite a bit. And I did not see that happening. There was no vibe to me that that was going to happen whatsoever. Rams are still third in offense. They're third in defense. They're the first team, I believe, potentially an NFL history that is top three in offense and defense and has it started off the year with a two and four record or something like that. What? There was a top three. They're top three offense and defense. That doesn't make any fucking sense. Well, here's where it makes sense is the turnovers, some crucial penalties. Like they've just done a lot of their kicker that they've cut was like what five for nine, thicker the kicker, whatever his name was. They've done a great job of killing themselves this season so far. But they're still a good football team. Right. Unfortunately, they just lost Dervante Adams for six to ten weeks, which is going to fucking suck. They still have guys like Puka and well, here's the reality. The ramp should be running the football more anyways. Like that's one of the reasons that they're struggling is they aren't fucking committed. They're they're getting yardage in the run game and they're just going away from it. I don't know what they're trying to do, but it's not great. Yeah, the Rams are ranked third in total offense third in total defense this season only team to be ranked and top five. them both. They're two and four in the last place. That's crazy, man. Well, speaking of Rams Kickers, uh, you talked about them, uh, replacing their kicker that was started this season for five and four thicker the kicker or five and nine thicker the kicker. Well, they went out and got a guy and he got absolutely smoked and, uh, didn't make it past the game. I mean, probably shouldn't be joking about this because he got hurt on this play, but, uh, yeah, he did. He didn't need tears. ACO respect the kicker whenever they want to go in for a hit. I will say, you got to throw it in between the spokes. We'll spokes there. You shouldn't be going up high, groupie. You got to go, uh, you're like ankle biting at that point, right? We got to know, we got to know our sizes, our size or speed or strengths and weaknesses. But I respect the fight, but for sure, we want to talk about anything else in, uh, week six, Bears gave up the jumping jack variation in the quarterbacks. Think you see this one? I have not jumping jack. Yeah, baby. Let's show this one. Let me see it from the beginning. What does he say? So the only reason that I can see that you would do this, and it's interesting. So one of the reasons we would go tackle over in short yardage quarterbacks in these situations is because, Travis, as you know, when, when you move a tackle and go unbalanced, right? So go, go back to the positive at the beginning of this when it's behind you. Pause right there right now. So 79 here is the one that's going to go in motion to the right side, which is going to put, we call it unbalanced. There's going to be three offense alignment to the center's right. And there's going to be one offense alignment to his left. So the line is stronger to the right side. And what defense is due to adjust to this is they call it one over. They're going to treat the right guard like he's the center now because that is the middle of the strength of the offensive line. So all of the defense alignment are going to move according to you. That's usually what they do. They do not do that here. But one of the reasons I liked doing this in these situations is what deep defenses want to take away in quarterbacks in these situations are the A gaps. Right? On either side of the center because that quarterback is usually going into one of those A gaps. Well, if they move over one player because a tackle has moved over, now the A gaps for the defense has changed. So you might free up an A gap because you've gone one over. And if teams don't adjust, you do what Caleb Williams does right here. And he just goes to the stronger. So he's not going to the left here. He's going to the big edge behind Darnell right and some may amount and deemed people over here on the right. So I think it's a pretty good design. I think he's waving his arms probably to try and get them almost to go one over or to just distract them from the fact that a sneak might be happening. Right. That's the other thing is like just kind of dress up a quarterback sneak make it look a little bit different. So they're not selling all out on it. I think teams should go back to running sneaks like this rather than telegraving it with the push push. I think the 49ers do a great job of it where they motion. Yeah. In some time. So go push the problem with the push formation is if teams have gotten so much better at defending it and hunkering down in those A gaps, you get better advantageous looks when you just run it out of a normal foundation like this. Like if a team lines up in a bear front with a head up nose, we should be able to sneak this and get it darn down darn near every time every time. Yeah. It's when the both the A gaps are occupied where it becomes very difficult. And if you line up in a push formation, you're going to get that alignment. So anyways, just something I'm keeping an eye on. I was like, I might be on board with going back to how we used to do quarterbacks. Anyways, Ravens lined up tight end Josh. How have you say that was it? Quavis? Quavis? Quavis? Quavis. At guard, but off the line of scrimmage. So he was eligible. Let's take a look at this. You seen this? I have not. Yeah, he absolutely fucking smart. Mike here. Who bank? Oh my gosh. He took off. I'd love it. Pretty good way to hide it. It's it's true. The playoffs have wrapped. If not been working on that one. I mean, that tight end set them up on this fucking perfect. It looks like they're running outside zone to the left. And he's got the mic and it's almost like a lead like a like a strong lead. And he just hit him underneath. It was I mean, that's a hell of a move. It's it's almost as if the the backer. I don't know. The backers eyes were just in the backfield. It seemed like he was like playing them at first. I think it's what you're saying is and this is you know, who else does a really good job of this is George Kittle and this goes to like the way you run routes. You always say like I'm not just going to run the line on the page, right? Yeah. I'm going to set it up and go to the space or whatever. George does this a lot. I've noticed too, you know, when you're running a naked and you have like an overout, some guys will just run the overout. But I'll see George sometimes he'll like make eye contact with the player that he would be blocking if they were running power or whatever to the same I almost like duck his self get his hands up and then slip by him. And that's what this looks like. Like how does the Mike know whether this guy's going to block me for outside zone. And if he's going to block me, I got to got to try and beat him over the top. I got to get to my gap. Yeah. Yeah. And then all of a sudden he slips some it does look like it kind of has that feel like he looks like he's running a outside zone blocking line and then getting off into this. I don't even know. I mean, it's kind of like an over route, but you're doing it inside. Yeah, it's an over route. Yeah. It's an overall, but you're doing it from like the A gap, which is kind of fucking weird. But really cool design. This is awesome from Baltimore. Travis, you want to play a little guard? Let's get you a guard. Man, I'll play whatever you need as long as as long as you're giving me that over route. I'm in. As long as you're getting me to get that backer or giving me that over route, I'm in. You see the Jim Nance peanut punch with JJ. This is pretty. Daddy. I got a dance. Jacked his fist up, man. It looks like he's messing with it, but also like kind of knowing Jim Nance. I don't think he is. I think he's probably being serious here. JJ demonstrating the class pan technique. Yeah. He gave it a good punch. He did. He did. No, he could see it on his face. He that was it. It hurt. It was legit. He was like, God, why did I just do that? That hard. Why did I hit that so hard? No, in this guy, like JJ, if anybody's got the best ball security in the world, the JJ's biceps and fucking hands. How big that dude. A lot of points of context. There is no. There are no. Yeah. There's no weakness in that ball security. So JJ's demonstrating right there what we call the class pan. Go back right there to when he's got the right hand over it. This is interesting to me because the way I was taught growing up and I wonder how many people watching this? You used to be taught the full. I'm trying to think of like what the full cradle, like what did it used to be called? Five points of pressure. No, but used to be taught. This was where you held the ball when you were in the open field. When you got in the traffic, get two hands on the ball and they used to grab like both points like this and you that would be the position what they used to teach way back when. Man, I've never in a fucking million years ever grabbed the ball. Well, when I played full back in middle school, that's the way you were taught. If you go back and watch old clips, that was the way they thought it like was more secure. I know that's how you receive the ball. Go back and watch. I hear you. I can see it. It was what used to be taught. I hear you. But it's not as good. You actually have some space because you still can get this ball away from your body, holding it like that and it can still go down. So now they teach the class band, which is you get that thing here. You have it's contacting the bicep. The hand has the claw on it. The forearm's touching it. It's against your body and then all this arm does is just pulls it in to make it a little bit more secure so it doesn't separate because that's when most of the time when you fumble and tell me if I'm wrong, Travis, it's when that ball just gets away from the body just a little bit, right? Yeah. It's either away from the body this way or you open the back gate. The elbow. Yeah. Walking now get punched out that way and go down. Right. So that's why you really want to pin that elbow and keep that thing. They call it chin in the football. You just want to keep that thing right here just yeah. That does it for bold topics brought to you by American Express. Let's get to a little out of the house. Jason got out of the house. Who doesn't love that. Came out to Kansas City. Kansas City. Out of the house is brought to you by Nike and Nike was part of the reason Jason was in Kansas City. Jason, you want to tell people it was how the new heights tailgate and arrowhead was. It was awesome. Listen, we had a huge try. It was packed. There was a pack with pigs. Did we get pigs? We didn't get pigs. We could get that cleared in the short time frame. Maybe next time. Maybe next time we can get some pigs in there. We had a like a knockout area with the basketball hoop. We had some logs and everything. I think we need more space than we're allotting for that if we're going to do that kind of stuff. It was very tight. Kansas City. They'll start to you know pack the the gates to get into the tailgate the night before like they were not fucking around with tailgate. The space is definitely limited right around that area of the stadium. It was packed. and it was very, as prime real estate too, we were really close to the stadium. It was awesome. It was a lot of 92% were there. A lot of people with swag from throughout the years is cool seeing like the old green hats or stuff from early on being referenced. Like it was really awesome seeing a lot of the people, especially the guys and girls that were felt like they've been 92% for a long time. There are people from all over the world. A lot of Canadians, I don't know what that was about. Did you know there's so many Canadian chiefs fans? Shout out to Laurent Duvarnet Tardief. - Are Canadians right? - Is that the guy? - That's the one? - Yeah, that's the duck. - Dr. Laurent, man I haven't talked to my guy Larry in a minute, man. I'm sure it just like is typical sports fans. I'm not sure if Larry's the sole reason they're, there's chiefs fans, but yeah, who knows? A lot of them didn't claim to be Swifties, so that would also track. - Well, there you go, yeah, she's got some fans up north. How many chiefs fans have been added because of Taylor? - I mean, I will say this, I have a lot more, I have a lot more people coming up to me expressing their, like, not necessarily their love for the chiefs, but their, what are my words am I trying to use Travis? - There's your words, I'm really sure. Expressing their stories of them and their daughters having a moment of watching football together. And that has been undoubtedly the majority of people that come up to me that talk football just off the street. So I get a lot of thanks for that, which is pretty cool. I didn't have that one on the guard when I started dating Tay. Let Alona asked her to marry me, but it's been pretty cool to see the influx of chiefs fans outside of Super Bowl appearances and all that. - Well, they were out and in droves at the 92%er's tailgate at Arrowhead, we had a couple of tweets brand, and you want to pull those up, what are these tweets? - Oh, yeah. - Look at that snout. - What does it say if only I could transport my piggins to the tailgate I so would. I mean, look at this face. There is something about a pig that is just adorable. - What? - Plus, they taste delicious. Look at that snout. - That is adorable, you're hilarious. - I think, I don't know. I'm kind of the pigs. - The pigs are great ammo. - That's where Washington went wrong. They went with commanders once they switched from redskins. They should have gone to the hogs. They fucked that up so bad. - They should have gone pigskins. - Hogs. - So watching the pigskins. - Any of that, all of those would have been better. - Oh my gosh. I don't know what it is. I'm just not in on pigs, man. - Well, this is a pretty gross one. And this one's, oh, they're just sleeping. - It's me, the pig lady from the Mother's Day episode. - Oh, no. - I hear there is a request for pigs, dude. - Hashtag skin children. - I don't know what that means. Well, listen, like we said, we played knockout. We had a snap competition. - How's our knockout game nowadays, Jason? I haven't seen that since probably-- - I didn't play, not in play. I was not gonna be good though. I was bricking to start throwing up some shots, but the contestants were not very good either. It was pretty a choice of knockout. - Oh, you should have got it in there, man. Got some legal interference. Some legal interference you know I'm talking about? - Yeah, there you go. - As soon as the first shot goes up and it hits the rim. - Yes. - I am using my ball to hit your ball. - Yes. - Yes. - Whoops. - No, not even whoops, that's on purpose. That's all fair game in my book, that's knockout. There were some prizes given out. We gave out some Caitlin Clark ones. As Nike was the official sponsor. So some fine contestants walked away with some incredible shoes. What else do we give you? Give us some merch. There were some awesome shirts designed for the tailgate itself. - Look, snap competition. You guys out there snapping? - That was one thing that again the contestants were terrible at. I think I would have gone 100 for 100. It was the easiest snap competition of all time. I think they might have hit like two. It was something crazy. It was knockout. - We've seen you in a snap competition before, Jason. Would you have gone one handed again? - This would have been, I mean, it was like a five-air snap. So I could have done this one one handed. But I was going to. DJ Donna played Ghostbusters for me. So we got little Ghostbusters karaoke. Chuck DeBierre with someone who had a fantasy football punishment. They lost, so they had to check it. They're losing punishment, was to Chuck DeBierre with me. Which, I don't know. - Oh no. - Yeah. - Oh no. - We were also doing some note on questions with the crowd. If the crowd deemed it accurate enough, you got a beer. We did some shots from all over. If you made a shot beyond the sticks, you got a beer. So we were having fun. It was a good time out there at the tailgate. And we got another one. We're doing it in Philly in November. What do we want to do at the next one, Trav? What do you think? What would we fun to do? - What's some good Philly stuff, man? I mean, obviously you did the belly button last year. - You did the belly button last year. - It was a banger. Do you go, you remember, do you remember having the blow up sumo suits at like a county fair? - Oh my gosh, yes. - That's always a banger, man. Seeing people, seeing two brothers put on a big sumo suit and see who could push the other one out. That's always good. The jousting we used to do at the county fair. Stuff like that is always epic. I will say some of these, so this is our third one we'll have done. What's noticeable to tailgate is we don't get as much space as I would like to do these kind of activities. So like the belly button is like very tight. Then the knockout and the snapping competition is not a lot of room to do. Not enough room to really do that. Any meaningful way. So like it's got to be something that you can do in space and you don't have to worry about the surface. So that's where the sumo one starts to give me concern. You can do like an eating competition. That might be electric, like a pie eating competition or you've got to eat the pie without your hands. There's got to be something. - What's a, it's a, it's November. No, what's a November Philly pie? - Well, November pie just in general would be like pumpkin pie, right? But I don't know. Philadelphia, you do like a stock, a stock pound cake eating competition. That actually might be electric. I kind of think that would be good. I mean, cheesecake is like the, it's like the obviously you're gonna do a cheesecake eating competition. So like what's something we could do? There'd be a little bit different. Roast pork eating competition or a stock pound cake eating competition. I love cheese steaks. I think the cheesecake is too stereotypical. We gotta do something more creative than a cheese steak. There's more things about Philadelphia than just cheesecake. - What about, did you ever try the, who could climb the grease pole? We haven't done it. I mean, they do do that in South Philly. That'd be electric, but I don't think we'll have the space for that and probably some liability things that might limit the ability to do a grease pole climbing competition. But it would be fun to just put a grease pole in the center of that motherfucker and a prize at the top of it. Whoever gets to the top gets to keep, I put $10,000 at the top of the grease pole. And if you can get to the top of that motherfucker, you get to keep it. - Oh, that'd be great. That'd be great. Either way, we'll think of some fun ideas for the November Philadelphia Eagles tailgate. - And all the 92% was out there in the Philly area. The ones going to that Philadelphia game in November. If you got any suggestions, you know we're always open ears over here. - Oh yeah. - Well, once again, out of the house was brought to you by Nike. - All right, let's see the top 10 Brandon. - Let's go with the top 10 here. We're gonna start in Baltimore, Kyle Hamilton. - Good player, good player. - Good player, heard his name before. - Okay, I could play some ball. Sean Watson on the roll. He'll throw short it all. - Oh my god. (laughing) - What is it? - Oh my god, that's football right there, baby. How are we feeling? Kyle Hamilton, I'm stopped. - I mean, it's good. - Sean Watson, man. I mean, come on. - That's a hard time to hang out to try and pass. - Also, I mean, the running back, we can't just be falling up field, not knowing who's there. I actually had a very similar situation in our game, like this. And it's, I mean, when you get absolutely smoked, I don't know where like this. It'll wake you up real quick. We gotta just, you know, just have a little bit of awareness. We gotta know when we're coming out here right here. When we're hitting this flat, we gotta know, Kyle Hamilton's, he's out there. - He was there when I last put my head around. - That's what I'm saying. - Kyle! - We gotta catch that. And don't get me wrong, you still gotta catch the ball. You just don't want to be leaning up field, not looking up field. You want to kind of stop that momentum up field, turn around and like find the best case scenario to get going. That's a big hit. But I think we got some more big time plays. I'd say just, yeah, I could say seven. - I was thinking seven as well. - Okay. All right. - We're gonna go to Giants, Saints, Arville Reese using an O-Line meant to make a tackle. - It's the ninth player in this tournament, it's dry. Kill it. (laughing) - Oh shit. - Just kind of hit someone that's left shoulder and throws him to the side. - You know, hell of a play. Hell of a play. - It is. and fellow Clevelander, or at least what the high school of Glenville, so I'm a fan of them. I'm a fan of them. Where do you throw them, Jason? I said, I said the last time. - I would say nine, nine, 10. - Yeah, sounds about like a nine. - It's a good play, but yeah. - It's a good play, not a top play, I guess. All right, we're gonna go to Jags Texans, tight end, Nate Boyer-Kirker. One handed grab. - Because Borkerture. - Borkerture? - Nate. - Nate Boyerture. - Borkerture? - Borkerture. - Nate Borkerture. - I believe that's correct. - I know. - On the first try, thanks to editing, first try. - Trevor sells it perfectly. Let's give MJ Stewart the same little bit of credit. He just, that's an impressive play. - I mean, with a guy hanging around him. - And it's not even like a, it's a full on like secured catch. - Yeah. - Should even have more press with the one-hander. - What do you think? - 5. - Yeah, let's give it a 5. One handed catch is a nice one. I think we got some more juice. I think there's another one handed catch so it might have been more of a highlight. - All right, we're gonna go to Tennessee Colts. This was the, I don't know. This is an interception on Tennessee Colts. This is a toe-tap interception. - We'll keep it itself, and I'm the most proud of this one. - Ooh, no way, he got his toes in. - He pulled that and that's what my name's Booker. - He tapped him. - The state and bounds. - State and bounds. I did not see it. I mean, that's good concentration. That's good concentration right there. - You know, you don't always get a toe-tap from a DB, man. You don't always get the toe-taps from the DBs. That's solid right there. That's a solid top tenor right there. I'll give it a nice six. You don't think that's above the one-hander? I think that's above the one-hander. - All right, four. Four, all right, four. - You guys are, you're hedging now. You're hedging the top. All right, we're gonna go to Arizona, Los Angeles. This is a scoop and not score on the two-point conversion. - Stop for a week and a half. - Oh, damn, Maddie. - Yeah, big fella. - Oh, you gotta trust that you don't have the speed. - Oh, you tried the second spin. - Goddamn. - He should've let rolled it though. Why are we not? - I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. We gotta get, we gotta get, we gotta get these sprinting spectators body on body right here. We got about five Arizona defensive players right here, not getting a body on a body. - I'm doing shit. - Goddamn it. That's what I'm saying, bro, fuck. I hear you about the ladder. - That's, I know me personally. I know Travis is throwing that rock. - Speed to go 70. I don't got the speed to go 70 in my day anymore. I'm gonna probably wait until I'm down field a little bit further to the ladder, like we're gonna get, we're gonna get this train rolling before I throw it, but I mean, this is a pretty athletic move to be running full speed. - I mean, he looks good. Big fella is doing great. What's his name? - L.J. Collier. - L.J. Collier, how's it looking? - Big L.J., 50 feet. I can speak from a big man's perspective. Ain't no fucking way. I'm wider in the ball if I get a chance. I'm fucking, this is about my time. I've been watching you fucking dickheads with the ball enough. (laughing) I'm fucking-- - You say? - Like, the coach is on back. - You say? - Oh, is it off its alignment? Just bat the ball down. Don't pick it up and run with it. And I'm like, I'm picking that. I'm picking that bitch up and running with it. If I get a chance. - You're gonna see a highlight, actually. - Yeah. - I'm either gonna get my knee blow out or I'm gonna score a touchdown. 'Cause it's never-- - I'm a fuck man. - I'm gonna have this game. - That can't be the other-- - That can't be the this or that. - Where are we putting him? - I'll go eight. - Okay. We're gonna go back to Tennessee, Indianapolis. This is the blocked punt. - It's pumped. - Now this is fucking likely. - Oh, the Titans. They blocked the Satches. - Yeah, that's a technique. It's like a touchdown. - You wanna talk about tackling a guy with another ball carrier. This guy basically blocked the punt with the P.P. Like buddy got destroyed. (all laughing) - Jesus. - Babushka. (all laughing) - This is the on field car crash that makes football football, man. Just shit is happening. Bodies are flying, the ball is the doom and then starts fucking flopping around. The double fountains, it's one of my favorite sounds. - It's fucking electric. - I mean, that's a fucking great play and it pretty much won the game. - It won the game. - Fourth quarter. - I think this is two or one, man. You block a punt to win a game. That's fucking cool. - I don't know. I can't think about the top of my head. - And you hurt the fucking punt. - Brandon could put in here that's better than that. - Is it one or two? One? Let's go one. Fuck it. - Let's go one. - Gotta get this one. - One? - I can give that. That's a respectable one. - All right. - One of the game. - All right. - Well, there's a lot of time left from that clock. They dwarfed through the pp. - Listen, I love the punt. - Don't get mad at me. I love the ones. I'm just saying I kind of know what's coming. I feel like there's another one on here. - The fucking pp look like We-Man. - Fuck. That We-Man. - It was We-Man when they put him on the, um, god damn it, the airbag seat. - You guys remember that one? - It was We-Man on the airbag seat. - Jesus. - What do you, if you get launched like that, does anybody say anything to you afterwards on the sideline? - No, they're all talking about it, but they usually don't say anything to you. - Does that come up in film? De-Coja show that? - Oh, they're definitely gonna bring it up in film, for sure. - I'll be the first one to come up and be like, "Yeah, as you guys see this, you guys are gonna want to watch that on film." - Yeah. - I'm breaking the ice right now. Dude, I just got fucking thrown. - All right, we're gonna go back to the London game. - Travis Hunter playing without a shoe. - Nice, nice, smart. - Smart. (laughing) - What can he do? - There's the slant over the middle. Get loose, Travis Hunter. - That's a hell of a move. - No shoes, man. - I'll tell you what, man. He plays football like he played this game. - This wasn't just the only play that was this. This is insane, dog. - This is an impressive fucking play without a shoe. - No shoe. - Like he full on breaks, it tackles, and stiff arms are dude without a cleat. That is incredible. Like right here, this makes that guy miss stiff arm to fucking out shows. Isn't that like, what the fuck? - The move off the line was the create, it was the fucking nastiest move too. - I, I, it's three or two, man. - That's a good play. - Watch, watch up top right here. Watch number three, and then watch, you see the tight end right there? Go, hands up. - Yeah. - Hands up, it's a good, yep. - Gosh, remember when you used to just be able to fucking. (laughing) - Destroy that dude. - I really hate that you can't crack back people. I think it's a dumbest thing. - Yeah, but that's not even like the real like, that's like you're going up field. - In a sense. - You can't be going outside in and do it either. It sucks. As long as you don't hit him in the helmet, you should be able to fuck that guy's life on him. (laughing) - Alright, that's right, I can go three, I can go three. - I go three, that was epic, that was epic. - Alright, we're gonna keep it moving. Two Buffalo Las Vegas. We've got Josh Allen making shit fucking happen. - Yeah, you're right, you're right. I don't know if I got it right. - Right, this is, I mean. - This is two. - Yeah, this is, this is a should've been one. This is fucking insane what this dude just does here. Whoop. (laughing) - Oh yeah. - I mean, what the fuck is that? (laughing) - Look at him just smiling. You guys see that? (laughing) - Hey, Allen. - That only happens when you take a smell and salt right before the plate. (laughing) - Okay, you gotta have some fucking cold as the throw that like that. - That is wild. - We've seen the five yard like pitch like that. We've never seen the 15 yards down field. Over two guys. - Yeah, this should be one. - That's gonna be two. - Yeah, one hundred percent. - But it should be one. - Sorry, Josh. - I was watching a, our guy, Chris Berman's, fastest two minutes. And I could just, I had already seen this highlight in the like 10 times already. And I could just feel the wolf coming to whoop, whoop, whoop. I could just feel it coming any fucking, it was so epic. - Six and 10 are open. - The hardest part of the segment is the counting. - For sure. That's why Aaron's doing Gowns work by. - Aaron's doing Gowns work. (laughing) - Aaron, thank you for paying attention in school. - Shout out Aaron. - Shout out Aaron, he counts to 10 folks. (clapping) Shout out Baylor University. - Baylor University, let's go Baylor. - Keep it up, keep it up educated down there. We're gonna go with, we're gonna go back to, no, sorry, new game. We're gonna go to Eagles, Panthers. (cheering) - Oh boy, movement. - Oh my goodness. - And the flags fly. - This isn't a play. - No. - This is a vetoing it. - I'll veto it. - I'll go 10. I mean, I'll veto it if we have another two plays. - We got a bunch. - It's good, the good heads up play. Like I like it. - It's a good play. - That's what we were trying to offensively. A little upset that nobody was saying DJ. You got to know this is a scenario where you might get a hard gap. - With the point, we're gonna veto this. - The point makes me like it looks more fun. - Oh my God, I like the point. I like the point. All right, we'll keep it going then. - Smooth cat. - It's a smooth cat, right? - Yeah, smooth cat. - We are going to look at rams. We're on a little pen and pole. Please watch the blockers. - Ooh, this is my kind of action now. - This is what I'm talking about. - Oh, 72, getting on the horse. - Good, pen and pole, get the fat guys out front. - Look at anybody. - Is there any cities on the ground? - Yeah, we got one on, got one on the ground. - We got the mic on the ground, or on the ground. - I can respect that. I like fat boys running. I like that. - It's definitely at best 10. - Look at him get no field. - It's a well-buck plan. - If he would have scored, if he would have scored, I wanted him to house it, I wanted him to house it. All right, what do we got? - If he would have scored, that's a 10. - They blocked, they blocked a run play. - A top play. - They did their jobs. (laughing) - They gave themselves a chance to have a chance. (laughing) - We're gonna go to back to Bill's Raiders, Trey Tucker, laying out. - Let's go, man, you see bear cat action.
