The podcast hosts celebrate nearing a year of their show, emphasizing the importance of Democratic governance and success. One host describes a fascinating cadaver dog demonstration in Snohomish, where dogs located unmarked graves from a historic Native American burial ground, with three dogs hitting on the same spot. Personal updates include meeting Rick Steves, who engaged with their “No Kings” slogan, and a joint decision to quit nicotine vaping through patches, motivated by health concerns like hair thinning and skin irritation, though they maintain other vices. The hosts critique Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation, viewing it as late and performative, and discuss her shift from QAnon sympathizer to critic. They also engage in lighthearted banter about GOP conspiracy theories, such as Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence face-swapping, and reflect on loyalty in politics, noting the need for representatives to prioritize constituents over party figures. The conversation blends political commentary with personal anecdotes, highlighting their focus on accountability and self-dealing in Washington.
[MUSIC] Welcome back to the UmSur podcast where Congress cashes out while the country shuts down. The Washington Foster kids get told the first amendment doesn't apply to them. Trump's dangling $2,000 tariff checks that don't add up. And pardons are flying like Oprah giveaways. You get a pardon. You get a pardon. We cut through the spin, spotlight the self-dealing, and say the thing everyone's thinking out loud. Um, sir? Well, holy shit, Sammy, how are we like approaching a year? Is that weird? And so much has happened. It feels like yesterday when my in-law came to my house and saw an extra room on Thanksgiving and said, "Oh, can I leave?" "Can I leave?" I don't know if I'm ready for the next year because this one just seems to be one. I'm ready for the next three. Groundhog day of awful. Yeah, exactly. I don't know. There's been some bright spots. Oh, sure. I would say the last couple weeks were bright spots. Yeah, with the election. And yeah, we just got to hold on to this shit. Yeah. We got to keep the momentum. We got to keep governing well. And I think the coolest thing that someone said at an event that we hosted for the Washington Institute for a Democratic future that I think everybody agreed on was, and maybe it wasn't even this event. It was another podcast. So actually, I think it was Sam on the Kermogen's podcast, but I thought about this was that we need to make sure that Mom Donnie and all of our candidates, every Democrat that has been elected, is successful. And can move this stuff forward, like move the good things that they're talking about forward because we are so stuck. Like when Republicans do stuff, they ruin you for life. When Reagan did shit, he ruined shit for life. He liked for a decade. For decades. Yeah. We were just watching a video of him trying to hear about his emails, but his email or what he was saying about Hillary's emails back nine years ago. Yeah. Holy crap. Yeah. Time does fly. That's almost been a decade. And it doesn't feel like it. That's the thing. I know. Well, how was your week? What did you do? You did something really fun today that I missed out on because I didn't do my homework before and I had to get it done. Well, and you were not a vacation. You were working. Yeah. You were in Arizona, so you have an excuse. Yeah. But I went to the cadaver dog demonstration in Snowmish with Snowmish walks from by Taylor. Oh, my gosh. It was so much fun. Okay. So what did it like, how did it go? Like, what did you do? Well, so the story is like there used to be a cemetery there and the two highway two used to go like around it. So in the 40s, they decided to make it straight instead of a curve. There's too many people were getting an accident on two and so they split the cemetery pretty much in half and then built a road there. And so when they did that, they moved all the tombstones. So nothing's marked anymore. Wow. And there's still bones and stuff, obviously, in the ground. And they're like, I guess in the, I think it was the 70s, two boys were playing on the south side of the cemetery, like by the river. And they found two skulls because that side of the cemetery is eroding into the river. So there's going to be more bones, probably eventually. What year did they do that and what year? Yeah, well, how old are sort of these bodies? Oh, 1800s or older because it was a Native American burial ground. Of course, they just like, and they just, and they just started burying their people there too. So they kind of just took over the burial ground. But yeah. So was there one dog looking for tons? Oh my gosh. Yeah, there was, I think all together, there were six dogs there. They didn't bring them all out at once, but they all had different like alerts that they did. And they were just so cute. All of them were so cute. Oh. There was one, I think she was like two or three. And the way she would alert, she'd sit and then just stare at the spot that she was alerting at. That's cute. And they did find some spots. And there were three dogs that hit on the same spot. So like, that's what they're really looking for. Because that means like, that's pretty condensed right. So are they going to do anything with that or do they tag it and at that point, and they keep a record. They've already done the south side. So we went to the north side today, which is right by a collector's choice. Like we parked in their parking lot and it's just right over there to the right. Well, that sounds really cool. But I love that. One of the women there wrote a book. It's called a dog's devotion. I can tell you her name. That's her name is on the book. Susanne L's Holt. Nice. Yeah. I talked about how they were dropped by a helicopter. I'm out right near her and dogs to go find cadavers and stuff in the book. She like tells the story. Oh, I'm getting the book. Or I want to know all about this. That sounds amazing. Yeah. But the dogs are so well-behaved. Of course. They're not like Charlie. No, they're working dogs. Okay. Side note. Today, Sammy was cleaning my house. She was leaving her daughter met her at my house. And your daughter, Charlie was excited to see her and was excited to run around. And I opened the gate. She's worried about her nails. Yeah. When I opened the gate, Charlie ran out of the gate, but he was fine. He's like, "Win back in." But I was, you were like, "Charlie." Oh, yeah. She said, "Charlie Kirk." My daughter did. I was like, "No, don't call him that." About died. And I said, "That is his in trouble name." I mean, it also called King Charles. Oh, no. Oh, that's true. That's true. But then I walked out in these free crocs that James got at a job because that's seriously how we take payments. I'm telling you. Yeah. You know, you got to give him this person did not. He paid, but also gave you crocs. We've gotten apples. We've gotten green beans. I love this. 40 dollars in green beans. Oh, yeah. Those are expensive these days. For real. I like the positivity that you're giving for this. Most people laugh at it. Like, what happens to us? What happens to us? Whatever. It was, but yeah, when James drives all the way to like, but fuck nowhere. I can not even remember the town that it's in like concrete. Oh, damn. And I was like, "Here's 40 dollars in some green beans." Cool dude. I love it. You know what? That's great. I had to be with calling Charlie Charlie Kirk though. I think that's too mean. Okay. It's very weird dog. I, you're right. It is rude. Yeah. Rude. I guess what I like about it. I wouldn't just do that. I do things. I say things about Charlie to like make other people laugh. And, you know, yeah, I don't call him chunky because I think he's chunky. I call him chunky. I just think he like responds to it. And it's cute because he does like to eat. And if we didn't control his eating habits, he would be chunky. You know, that's why he's called chunky. And it's just a nickname for Charlie. People have told me that I have fat shame my dog. And so now I'm going to Charlie Kirk shame. Oh no. I always called him King Charles too as a joke like, you know, when he's being a little dick. That's true. Also that still fits within the vibe of no kings and all that stuff. Yep. Speaking of that, for those that didn't see the social media post, I met Rick Steves. I mean, I've met him a cop. Like I guess I've been around him in political realms, but he took a picture with us. We got to go backstage went to a European music symphony that he was like guiding us through. It was really cool. And he yeah, we were able to get like some free tickets to this event while we were in Arizona. So surprising to see you. We got some while you were in there. So that one of our buddies that went on the trip with us, Thomas, you're amazing. He made sure Thomas Pitchford. If I don't know if he wants a shout out, but he thought like he's just like, I'm going to call him and figure out how to get hold of Rick Steves and I'm going to hit you take it and see if we can do it. And like people were like totally fan-girling like the whole time. That's cool. And yeah, when he took a photo with us, he said like say no kings and like he knew about our group and we were like, yeah, kings and we were so into it. And he said, she's yeah, it should be. Yeah. And then he's like, I'm going to take one. He took it with my phone and then he took it one with his own phone because he said he liked it so much. So we felt pretty good. Oh. I know. But she, your daughter like made, like I asked her if the crocs were cute because I hate crocs. Crocs are stupid. And the, the crocs you have are not like normal crocs. Well, you said they, the backing on it means that they're, when you have the strap to the back towards your heel, that's called sport mode. I don't know how you did it. No, that. And when you have it to the front, that's just normal. Oh. Okay. I have sport mode. Okay. I don't engage. But I made sure I asked her, she wouldn't tell me I'm like, what do you think of these shoes? Do you want them? She didn't want them. But she said, but kids, your age do like these shoes. She goes, I hate it. So many kids like crocs. I don't like crocs. And then so I've never felt more seen by your daughter than today. Yeah. Also, does that happen very often? When I said, let's sell them to the kids at your school. And I said, we'll split the cost. And she said, split 80, 20. Yeah. And then I said, I'm going to buy a pair of shoes. I'm going to buy a pair of shoes.
Yeah, like that is I'm not even gonna wear those out gardening. I'm gonna wear them wear them to the basement to smoke weed. That's it. When no one is with me. Yes. I literally when no one can see me. All right. Well, and I guess I have another update. Okay. Maybe a health update. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's good health update, I guess. I have made the decision to stop vaping nicotine. And I am supporting her in this effort. By not doing it as well. Yes. Yeah. And I've I've smoked cigarettes since I was 13 until I think it was like 2021 when I started vaping. And I started vaping to stop smoking. And that worked. Like I can't imagine myself now ever smoking a cigarette again. So now it's just time. Yeah. It's time. But I am on patches. So I'm not totally nicotine free yet. But getting there. But just so that people aren't confused, we still love the sins. Oh, yeah. Yeah, we still have our vices. Don't worry. Don't worry. We'll still be known for those vices. Yeah. We're still stoneed. But girls. But we want to be good examples for children. Yeah. And healthy, honestly. Yeah. Like I've been complaining. I know I've complained to you. My hair is so thin and I hate it. And it feels like it's getting thinner the older I am. And maybe that's something to do in my age. But I also looked up nicotine can also cause hair thinning. So. And I've been irritated with my skin a lot lately. Yeah. So, you know, and when you think about how long I mean since I was 13, I'm 36 now. How many years does that? A lot. Yeah. That's a lot with nicotine in my life. Yeah. Either from cigarettes or from vaping. Yeah. And I. That's a long time. I feel bad too. Cause I, you know, I think it was like 2012. All the ticks got me into smoking. Yeah. I didn't do it a lot. But, you know, depending on, and then I probably smoked the most that I did. Most cigarettes that I ever had during the legislature. Yeah. Yeah. I remember we smoked a lot then too. Cause I would come over and sit on your porch with you. You're right. I forgot how much we did like smoke a cigarette together when we would get together. So a lot of cigarettes back. Yeah. Holy shit. I forgot. I like blocked that time out of my memory. It's so like, I don't know who I am without nicotine. It's been so long. Well, it's going to be an adventure. Yeah. I have six days in. Tomorrow will be seven days. So I'm past that huge hump that people say. And maybe it's the patches of definitely helped. But it's also just the mindset of. I don't want it anymore. I ate a whole pack of sunflower seeds after you. Yeah. I've gone through some too this last week. Yeah. So that's okay. But yeah. So here's an adventure. The healthier light. It's just. But still smoking weed. Still drink a little bit here and there. Yeah. Just here and there. Yeah. Really just here and there. I mean, when we're doing the podcast mostly. Like how much do you drink when we go to the doctor here and there? You're in there. Right now. And then that's what I'm going to respond with next time. If I can ever go to the doctor again with the price of healthcare costs because. Fuck. I know. Yeah. I need. I have so much to do before December one. And even more to do before January one. And then it should tend to stuff to do before tax day. Oh man. Oh man. Let's not look that far ahead yet. So let's really quickly though. I saw this really great thing. And actually it was Shostee Conrad, our state party chair who shared this. And I took a screenshot. Oh yeah. It's called what GOP conspiracy are you? So Sammy, your birthday is in August. Correct. So Nancy Pelosi. Okay. What's your favorite color? Green. Face swapped with Mike Pence. Okay. And your first initial is S because everyone's a secret Muslim. Wow. So I believe Nancy Pelosi face walked with Mike Pence because everyone is secretly Muslim. Yep. That's your GOP conspiracy. All right. All right. Mine is Bill Gates. That's what October is. I love this already. Created COVID. I picked blue as my color. And we did it to keep the whites down. You know what? It's a weird way. I do think Bill Gates would do that. You know, and this is because of the Epstein files that we feel this way. Speaking of the Epstein files, let's get into it. Oh my gosh. I know. Like for once we have an update. Oh yeah. Oh wait. Oh wait, wait, wait, before you get into that though. Okay. We were as Sammy was walking in today. I got to see a whole times news update that said Marjorie Taylor green is resigning. Yeah. Let us see what the answer was. Yeah, let's get that answer. And I, my first reaction was like, I don't know if I want her to, which is the weirdest thing I ever expected myself to think. I just don't want her to do anything. I want her to go away. I'm glad that she said something. But girl, you said something so late. You have caused so much. There's no forgiveness. Did you see her on, um, I forget what it wasn't the view, but that one was a good interview too. But she's on a different show and somebody like really brought up her past and how rude she's been to people. And she's just apologizing. Well, she said, no, that's fair criticism. I believe that's fair criticism. She did say no. I know. I know. What is happening? She's going to therapy. That's what's happening. Yeah. And I, you know, I, she's going to, she uses the therapy turns too. Here's where I'm at with everybody. Stop fucking shit up. You don't get to have power anymore because you use it inappropriately. Yeah. And sure, MTG, I don't want you to go to prison. I don't give a shit. What happens? You go, just go away. Go sit in like go to Michaels and Marshalls and go get your, what are those the sips or go get your, I don't know where are you. She's doing this though to help the Epstein victims even more, and to be more open about it. Maybe. I mean, you're, you're so nice. I'm sorry. I am the, I am so nice. I'm not, okay, sorry. I'm not even making sense because this is, I'm insensed. And I just found this out. So I'm not even making any sense. But these are like the people that we talked about with the Charlie Kirk stuff. Like you didn't care before and all of a sudden you care. And you think you're doing it. That's what she changed her mind. It was Charlie Kirk's assassination. When she really started looking back and yeah, okay. You can't even see my face. I just can, I, you can hear it. You can hear my face. I, okay, here's the story on. Yeah, let's hear it. Rep Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia. Former Trump loyalist says she is resigning from Congress. A once loyal supporter and picnic girl, I added that. A president Donald Trump who has become a critic said, Friday she's resigning from Congress in January, green in a, in a more than 10 minute video posted online, explained her decision and says she's always been despised in Washington DC and just never fit in. Green's resignation followed a public fallout with Trump in recent months as the congresswoman criticized him for his stance on files related to Jeffrey Epstein along with foreign policy and healthcare. Trump branded her a traitor and wacky and said she would endorse a challenger against her when she ran for reelection next year. The White House did not immediately respond. Sorry, there's just nothing in here. Green was one of the most vocal. Yeah, we know all this shit. So there's no, green has been, okay, loyalty should be a two-way street and we should be able to vote our conscience and represent our district's interest because our job title is literally representative, she said. I think the problem is this is there's too much loyalty to the wrong people. The loyalty is it with the people. Yeah, it's with whoever you like the most. And it's also what I was relisting to our podcast from this past week and you know Sam was saying like there's just all these people going with where the wind is blowing and that's what's driving me nuts. He said it again on the, his other podcast recently like Bill Clinton was like still he's known as a progressive person who was like super moderate and also took us backwards in a lot of ways. So he did probably get his dick sucked. Well, we are well, yeah, by Donald Trump. Yeah, and he should admit to that and even if it's not true, I heard someone say he should just tell people that I know it. I know it. I've heard. I've said that. Going around saying like that's what the big beautiful bill was about. Oh, no. Oh, I love it. That's so good. And honestly at this point, he should just admit it. The Hillary should do. Just admit it guys. It's fine. She did. Yeah, I mean, she didn't give a shit. She's like, just give me my shot because like I should be in every seat that you've ever been in, not you mother fuck. Yes. You are here because of me. 100% fuck off. Men. Okay. She was, it points out at the very end of this article. Great reminder. Green was once a sympathizer with QAnon and online network that believes it was. She went against that and said that she was wrong for that. Okay. Fine. I'm just, I'm just being the devil's advocate. Usually that's you. So I know I never. I never actually made a beat this. I actually don't feel like you're being the devil's advocate. I feel like I'm being the devil's advocate for people. Like it's like when John McCain died. Like this one guy who was like, he said this before anyone said anything about Charlie Kirk. It's okay not to be sad that John McCain.
died, which is literally where I got my Charlie Kirk comment from. Yeah. And I said, because we were even my organization, we like met him while we were in DC when I was in a in the fellow program. And of course we took a picture with him. He was like out there doing an interview on CNN. Yeah. And so we posted about it. He was in the photo too. And later I saw him post that and I go, you're right. Like it's okay to not be sad that John McCain died. I think it's not that Ditchie died. This people dying every day and we're all not sad about it. It's okay to be not sad. Yeah. It's okay. We got to get into the news that we were supposed to cover. Not. I know. And shocking news of the moment will know more about this, like why she's doing this. And yeah, she's like me complaining about getting out of the legislature. I thought she would be watching her video real quick and then it's three minutes long. Fine. It's 10 minutes, but we can put it on two times speed probably. Okay. No plan to save the world or a 40 chess game being played. When common American people realize and understand that the political and industrial complex of both parties is ripping this country apart that not one elected leader like me is able to stop Washington's machine from gradually destroying. Give me a fucking break. And instead the reality is that they common Americans, the people possess the real power over Washington, then I'll be here by their side to rebuild it. Until then, I'm going back to the people that I love to the to live my life to the fullest as I always have. And I look forward to a new path ahead. Girl, you're reading. You like? No, I mean, no, there was more, but that was just like a havesy one that we could watch. But girls reading so obvious like if she was on the house floor in Washington state on Zoom, somebody would have like stood up and called her out for reading. Yeah. I mean, no, and she can do stuff without reading. Actually, never mind. She can't. That is not true. Yeah, I mean, she's ever done that. Well, she seems pretty okay. Like she actually seems like she has her shit together when she's on these news programs. Okay. Yeah, I can see that. Which I guess it's really easy to be on a news program and say, I am so sorry. But when she's on, like so sorry, she is not. That is fair criticism. Yeah. Well, her interview on the view is quite interesting too. I can't believe she went on the view. Obviously, I can't believe the view invited her on the view, but right. Yeah. Wait, why for obvious reasons? It was obvious reasons that I never expected to see her on the view. That seems like pretty right, like in line with them. Yeah. I mean, if Jasmine Crockett can be on the view, like so can Marjorie Taylor Green. And I mean, that like not like waiting to support women. Yeah. I think more like to support women who support other women. They like to have the conversation. And she's on her like building rebranding tour. So rebranding for what if she's leaving Congress? I'm scared about what she said. Yeah. She's banking on populism. People do want that. People do want to get away from the machines. Yeah. They're doing their saying that on the Democratic side. They're saying that on the Republican side. And for good reason. And often for good reason because there have been some problems. And as so many people have said that things need to break, like we can't continue to do what we're doing now. No. Things need to like part of it is breaking things down and then you're building up. There's some things that we want to keep maybe, but that's a good discussion. But I don't think anything's going to be the same. No. And I think things really do have to break for them to get better. And I heard that in Arizona in almost every conversation that I had with people. Yeah. That's the kind of messages that I heard from a variety of people across that state. We'll talk about that more next week. Yes. We will get into that. That's right. All right. Since you wanted to watch that, I'm scared. I mean, it wasn't. It wasn't 10 minutes. I don't know how you found that. I know. I know. Well, they've already. We were already late by the time I got the Seattle Times notification. I guess I just don't know how I feel about it yet. I know. I'm not sure either. I'm not upset, but I'm also not happy about it, which is weird, which is. It's also confusing to not have any feelings about my life. - Marjory Taylor Green. - I'm sure. - We're signing it from her position. - And then they just cancel each other out and just whatever. (laughter) - That might be negative. Just like it's okay to not have feelings about Charlie Kirk. But I'm sure that all of these Democrats, you know, these boys, oh, Marjory Taylor Green is getting out. How dare you not care about Marjory Taylor Green, we're signing. - Several other Republicans are going to be like, yeah, we don't care. - No, we don't. - I don't know. - I don't know. - Hey, don. - Most of them have to. - No. - Okay, honey. - Let's get into the Epstein of things. - Yes. - We finally got a huge update. - Money email. - Yeah, but first before I get into the vote, right? There was a batch of emails released by a subpoena from Epstein's estate. - Wait, what happened this week? - I'm sorry. - Wait, hold on, Tammy, what happened this week? - To be clear, Epstein's estate released these emails, not the DOJ. So these are not the emails that the DOJ has. A lot has happened in the last two weeks. - There really has been. And there's gonna be so much more. - So much more. - So much more. So these emails were between Galein Maxwell and the Sultan in Sulayem. - I think that's how you say his name. - It's a Sultan. - It's a glad name. - Michael Wolfe, who is a famous author, I believe. Am I correct on that? - I think he wrote, never mind, maybe. - Okay. - Never mind, I have no idea actually. - A happy, real blur. - A real blur. Should we look up those people real quick to see what they do? - Michael Wolfe is an American journalist. - Yes. - Kathy Rumler is what did we figure out who she was? Well, she's with Goldman Sachs now, but she was counsel. Goldman Sachs general counsel. Sorry, that's what it is. We were looking at White House. - And the White House is saying that. When I looked it up over here, says attorney and former White House counsel, weird, an attorney who was principal deputy White House counsel and then White House counsel to president Barack Obama. - Oh shit. Okay, well, I'm about to read what if her email is and the fact that employees are shocked after accepting - To accept caught up in Epstein scandals. - Yeah. - Okay, let's go. - So first we're going to an email in 2011 from Jeffrey Epstein to Gleinmaxwell. And this is the one that mentions Trump. I know there's plenty, but this is like one of the biggest ones. This is I want you to realize that that dog that hasn't barked is Trump, redacted victim. Spent hours at my house with him. He has never once been mentioned. So I was back in 2011. - They're alluding to in that message that he hasn't been mentioned in anything. - Yes, and there's also people alluding that this victim is Virginia. But I will tell you, I've read her book and she doesn't say anything about, she does talk about Trump, but it's never in sexual way. Like nothing ever happened with them. So I don't know. I don't know at this point who that victim is. The one from the Sultan bin Suleyem. - He's the CEO of DP World. - DP World? - Yeah, he's an Emirati businessman. He is the chairman and chief executive officer. CEO of DP World and the chairman of the ports, customs and free zone corporation. This is what he looks like. He kind of makes me like. - Interesting. - He kind of makes me smile. But also can we just laugh at the fact that it says like two. Sultan bin Suleyem. - Yes, like from Jeffrey Epstein. And he says. - Sultan Ahmad bin Suleyem. I don't know. Is he a Sultan or is that his name? - I don't know. - This is from Jeffrey Epstein. Does never heard of him. Donald is close to no one. He talks to many people. He tells each one something different. And then the Sultan. - No, not a Sultan. Wrote, "Do you know him?" I heard he is close to Trump. Oh, sorry, I got that backwards. He wrote that first. Epstein responded. - Oh. - Michael Wolfe's on 2016. So this is During. Also that last one is 2018. So this is During from. - During from before the election. It's on my birthday, right before the election. - No, this. Oh yeah, you're right. You're right, you're right. I'm like, "From Michael Wolfe to Jeffrey Epstein, Michael Wolfe says there's an opportunity to come forward this week and talk about Trump in such a way that could garner you great sympathy and help finish him." Interested. What's Michael Wolfe doing? - Well, he's a journalist. - I know we're the fuck is he? - Obviously no. - So yeah, we don't have an answer to that email yet. But, and then the one with Kathy was in 2018, an August. So she says it makes no difference whether it was his money. Issue is failure to disclose plus fact that he has lied his ass off about it. It makes clear that he knew it was illegal. Jeffrey Epstein says you see, "I know how dirty Donald is. My guess is that non-lawyers, New York Biz people have no idea what it means to have your fixer flip." - Wait, okay, what? What does it mean to have your fixer flip? - So he's Donald Trump's fixer and he's flipping on. - Or he just knows Donald Trump's fixer. - What the fuck is Michael Wolfe dead? - I'm thinking like Olivia Pope's fixer, you know? And then she flips. I mean, they know all the dirt. - He's the one who author known for his books on Donald Trump and his recent involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein email discussions is currently active as a writer, media commentator and social media presence primarily based in Omen's stuff area. Oh, I did not know this is how it spelled. Omen, a set, Omen. - Omen gonna set? What is this place? - I have no idea. - It's in Long Island, but I'm on set.
said, oh my god, this is so dumb that I don't know. This is so embarrassing. Okay. But anyways, he's alive and well. But there's plenty. I mean, there's the email too that came out from Epstein's brother that said, ask Putin if he has a picture of him blowing Bubba. And that Bubba was supposed to be Bill Clinton, but Jeffrey Epstein's brother has come out and said that that's not who he was referring to in that email. But also, what was that email about? I'm so many questions. My favorite. Why are you talking to Putin for one? Yeah. Did I already say this like live that like Bill Clinton should just say that he got a blowjob from Donald Trump even if it's not true because like it looked better for you at this point. But here's the thing. I don't think never mind. Let's keep going. I'm annoyed because I just don't see I see this going on forever. I'm shocked by the fact that we've been dealing with this mofo. I know. In presidential office for nearly 10 years, like in that realm, in our national politics, I can't believe I have wasted a fucking decade on this mofo. Yeah. At least the years prior, I didn't have to waste on you. He was just there. And we didn't have to pay attention to go ahead. I have your apprentice show. No one fucking cares. Make your appearance on sex in the city. Just yeah. Leave me alone. The fuck alone. Get out. Well, speaking of Trump, after months of resisting to sign off on the FC files transparency act, Trump finally said, yes, I'll sign them and encourage Republicans to vote. Yes. So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The next day, he would say something completely different on the 18th. And I have that too. But for now, 17th. So that's teen files transparency. It's the act finally passed. Yay. Yay. We released the files. I know. So obviously in the Senate, no problems passed unanimously, the House vote for 27 to one. You know, this is smart of that guy. I'm not going to say, no, I was like, somebody investigate him immediately. What I thought. For real, it's like when Matt Gates was the only one that voted against the sex trafficking bill. No, I think this guy is like, investigate him immediately. I mean, I think everyone needs to be investigated completely. But I actually feel like, let's say every Congressperson's name is in these episodes, but I mean, I know that somebody I can see why someone would vote yes to release them because of this. But this guy literally everyone did except for him. I bet he waited until he saw everyone's vote and then voted no. I want to know. I do we look it up. Look it up. I mean, I can't figure that out. I would have to like watch the vote. Like, I mean, I don't know. That seems like a deep dive to be like what time exactly. Okay. Fine. Yeah. I overview. Okay. From the available reporting, it appears Higgins did not wait for further amendments or for the Senate process before casting his vote in the House. He specifically said that what was wrong with the bill three months ago is still wrong today. What is that? He, I mean, what he had said was that he was worried about the victims in the bill and like information getting out. Basically, that's what he said. Reveals, like reveals an injures thousands of innocent people, witnesses, people who provide alabies, family members, etc. My victims are asking for them to come out. But I know. But his argument, he does need to be investigated immediately because it's like, oh, you mean like people who provide like people who provided alabies. I'm sorry. I think at this point, everyone's like stop the madness. But he's standing. I'm just saying it. This is a guy that's not going where the wind blows. Okay. That's what I'm trying to tell you. That's true. And that's what we're asking for. He's just going to wrong life. That's why I think he was smart. Being the only vote. Do you know what I mean? I mean, he didn't wait. So that's interesting. Like this guy can run on something being like, wait, when anything happens to someone's like, I, my so I don't know if something bad happens as a result of anyone's naming release, he can be like, I was the lone vote on this. Well, let's get into Clay Higgins a little bit. Okay. Do please do. I didn't know before we started just
ifying his decision. Okay. So he has a police misconduct allegation when he was in law enforcement. He gained neuriety for his Cajun John Wayne persona and crime stopper videos. However, he faced allegations of misconduct and was known for challenging people to fights on social media. He also was all about Trump's eating cats and dogs and repeated it many, many times. And a 2024 mother Jones investigation revealed Higgins maintained close ties with Leon Bordeaux, a former Louisiana sheriff's deputy convicted of incest in 2021. Bordeaux was also linked to allegations of sex trafficking. And Higgins appeared in photos with him and rode motorcycles together as part of the Kindred vet group. So he's not hanging out with some great characters. I mean, I'm going to be honest with you. There's not one Republican that I have ever met that I'm like, you're an outstanding citizen. I'm going to be honest. I'm not kidding. Like, or if they like pretend like they are, I'm like, you're up to some crazy ass shit and give me someone and I can be like, here's your redeeming qualities. And here's most of the reasons you're not. And like why you shouldn't be a Republican because you actually suck and everything you're fighting for actually like harms you because you're a fuck up. You're actually an idiot. Yeah. Pretty much the answer. We don't know. Like if we mean that in the malicious way, I mean, I think Democrats suck too, but they don't pretend like they're fucking holier than now. Like trying to put other people down. We're cool with making mistakes. We do it. So Trump said he'd sign it. Encourage all the Republicans to vote. Yes. And then the next day he was asked by a reporter, would you sign the bill if it gets to your desk? And he says, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't say I'm just going to read it because I don't need to torture people with hearing him talk. Yeah, please don't. He says, I do want to say, here's what I want. We have nothing to do with Epstein. The Democrats do. All of his friends were Democrats. All I want is I want for people to recognize a great job that I've done on pricing on affordability. Bada, blah, blah, blah, and then he goes into all the great things he's done. Remember when you really wanted to be a Democrat? He says we have nothing to do with Epstein. The Democrats do. I'm like, sir, you were a Democrat when you were friends with Epstein. You're on record saying that you were. You were a pick me girl for the Democrats. Exactly. And they felt bad for you. And now you're a Republican. Yeah. They just took your money and felt bad for you. Exactly. So this brings me into I guess another personal update. I guess I finished nobody's girl by Virginia Roberts, Kufre. I think that's how you say it last day. I've heard people say it Jeffrey before, but I'm grateful. That sounded right. Also, you read that so fast. Well, it's hard. It's hard. Like the content is hard to read, but it's very easy to get through. I'll say, it's like, you just want to get to the end. Where are the people that read true crime novels and get through them really fast and like, oh, I'm completely fine reading this horrible stuff. Yeah. We might be psychopaths. You think so? Maybe. That was one of the questions in Greg Olson's book, though. It's like some people. What was mine called now? I gave it to you. It just happened. Okay. I was thinking of the last half of the street. That's how it went. Well, and so in my book, they said that was looking at reading. Actually, this is great with Greg Olson books. They have questions at the end. So like book club discussion questions, which are good and said, some people took a really long time to get through this book. Some people read it in one sitting and couldn't get, you know, like, how did you feel? It was a non-judgmental question. No, I think I'm just the type of person that wants to get to the end because I want to know what happened. Like, I want to know what the end is. I do too. Like, I want to get through it as fast as possible. That's where I was at. So I don't have to like sit with the badge. It really is what it is. Exactly. Like, I'm having a hard time getting through Kamala Harris's book because I'm now sitting with what I had read. Yeah. And I had to sit through some bad shit and things that just make me inferior. It almost makes you not want to go back for a little while and you have to stop and sit with that bad shit. And it's not even like bad shit. It's just like holy shit. Where did our world go? In the Kamala. Yeah. So in the Kamala especially. Anyways, Virginia's book where the fuck did our world go? It's definitely questions that you ask. Yeah, I might be slow on this book in comparison to you. One that really stood out to me. Actually, there's two. There's one that she calls, well, no, not calls. He is a prime minister at that point. And he's actually a soldier violently multiple times. So I can't wait to see those in those files who the former prime minister was during that time to see who it is. Holy shit. Yeah. He was, he was gross. Prime ministers are there out in the world. Probably not many. So probably wouldn't be that hard to look up. There's another one though. She calls billionaire number one and his pregnant wife. This is somewhere after January 20th, 2001. It was around Epstein's 40th birthday. Virginia is told to go to the breakers hotel and Palm Beach to massage her new clients. Specifically, be gentle with her. Make her comfortable, but save most of your energy for him. This is what Jeffrey told her. She's, I think she's 16 at this time. Wow. This semi-down rabbit hole because it was a billionaire and his pregnant wife.
2001. So I'm like, who were billionaires back then who are the most influential ones? So I got a list of 30. I started looking at their kids to see when they were born in 2001 specifically. The only one that I could find was the Swiss biotech billionaire Ernesto Bertoroli. This one is weird. I can't find his kids for years anywhere, but he and his wife, well, he is now X, Y had three children together and they got married in 2000. So it wouldn't be weird to expect them to get pregnant within the first year of getting married. You know, a lot of people do that. Yeah. But his kids' birth dates are nowhere. That's crazy. You can't find them anywhere. So all I could find was that he got married in 2000 and has three kids. So I don't know. Also Bill Gates. That one ended up like I looked it up their daughter Phoebe was born in 2002, but that would have been too late. She was like September 2002. I don't think Melinda Gates would do that. What kind of money and control do you have to like hide your kids' birth dates from the world? Like I just I know. I mean, I wish I could hide everything so that no one would wish me happy birthday on Facebook. Well, you can take your birthday. I did this year and it was amazing. But I'm just saying somebody could find my birthday. Yeah. Easy. Yeah. I'm just saying what kind of public information I'm pretty sure. Yeah. So why can't you find these kids' birth? I know. It should, well, they pay, they pay to keep it private. Crazy. Yeah. Okay. Well, what's this next link that you have? You're in very fascinating pay. Well, I don't know. I think I might save this for next week. This week for run out of time. Can I read it really quick? New DNA analysis reveals Hitler may have had a micro penis. Yeah. Sal Park is just hitting the nail on the head so hard. I know. But we'll talk about that next week because it's just kind of a fun one. Okay. But our next one is bye Kim Davis. Bye. It's another update because we talked about the Supreme Court was going to hear a case to possibly overturn Oberkfeld, which is same sex marriage, right? So the US Supreme Court has declined to hear a new appeal challenging same sex marriage, leaving intact lower court rulings that continue to uphold marriage equality nationwide. Obviously this came from Kim Davis, the infamous woman who refused to give a gay couple marriage license. So I never ever intense the court rejected the petition without comment. So they didn't even think it was important enough to comment. I fucking love that. I know. I was like, I won't dignify this request with an answer. It's a bad response. Bye. Get out of here. So yeah, that was just like some good news. A good update for what is amazing. I mean, I think that was every now and then. Well, what's bad, though, is a friend of mine like informed me. I think they've read the news headline wrong. She's like, well, does the Supreme Court just voted against my marriage? Like she didn't happen that way. And I was like, what the fuck? Like I go, I mean, I guess I expected it. Like how do you feel? And then I was like, you read the story. I was like, it's good news. No need to be depressed. Yeah. I don't think she was. She was like, she was, this is somebody. I mean, they, honestly, it's only been legal since 2000. When was it? 2012. 12. That's right. So like, it hasn't been legal that long. And this is how to live like that for a while. And this is a friend who I love because they're like, they don't like the term rights. And it really bothered me. They're like, and I was like, what is she be? She's like, I don't need rights from you. I don't need permission. And I'm like, well, that's yeah. I know what rights are. But it's like permission. Well, that's what I know. But she thinks that like granting that. But I'm like, we don't need permit. Like she thinks that like saying right is like giving permission. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. You're right. Because I, you're right. Speaking of rights. You're right. I guess. Yeah. We can see things differently. That's okay. Yeah. I mean, the intention is positive in it. You know what I mean? But I'm like, if that language isn't working for you, just let me know how you want me, what language do you want me to use? Because I still think we're on the same page. So yeah. Let me know your grades better for you. So our next subject is shutdown. We're like cash out. So this is a key five investigations. So a local local news here. So it revealed that the recent government shutdown bill contained a hidden clause that could grant at least eight US senators payouts of $1 million or more each. So hidden provision it bear it was buried in the 394-page shutdown bill. The clause allowed senators to sue if their phone or digital records were obtained without notice. It applied back to 2022, covering subpoenas issued during Jaxmas probe into Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Scale of payouts, each of the eight senators identified could receive at least $1 million, raising concerns about self-dealing, hello, and lack of transparency. Each senator could claim two violations, one for the subpoena, one for the non-disclosure order, meaning payouts starting at $1 million per senator funded by taxpayers. Us, obviously. So list of senators, I don't think he'll be surprised to see that they all have ours after their names. Oh wow, I did not know about this story. This is shocking. Yeah. So when we got Lindsey Graham, Bill Hagerty, Josh Hawley, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville, Tuberville, Ron Johnson, Cynthia Lumis, and Marsha Blackburn. But I need the money. So exclusive benefit only senators. What I know. And also, sorry, what a very detailed provision. Like to sue if your phone or digital records were obtained without notice, which is like, what the fuck, what do they know? What do they have? Yeah, like wow. Also going back to January 6th, all that that happened and obviously Trump trying to overturn 2020 election. So what the fuck? Yeah. And good job, King five. Yeah. I've seen anyone else talk about legit King five was the only one who did it like, I don't know, they were the only one. This was the one. I mean, it was their investigation. So I think they're the ones that started the ball rolling. Fuck these people like seriously. I know. So AOC has called it unconstitutional that the taxpayer money could be diverted to enriched senators while cutting food and health care assistants. Yeah. Yeah. Hello. Jamie Raskin denounced it as the single most corrupt provision for legislative self-dealing ever voted on. Agreed. Speaker Mike Johnson promised a standalone vote to strip the clause acknowledging bipartisan frustration. Okay. I get a second. The revelation is sparked calls for greater oversight on how bills are drafted and passed with watchdogs warning the hidden clauses like this, a road democratic legitimacy. The King five report highlights how complex, well, we don't read that. It's fine. That was just like a summary of it all. But we've not summarized it by talking. So this was the, and I'm sorry that I'm asking this question now at the end of it. But you said the government shutdown bill, which it's not the government shutdown bill. It was the bill to stop the government shutdown. Okay. Yeah. I mean, that was how King five worded it. That's such a stupid way to do it because you know what? Here's the other thing. Someone's going to read that. This is why I fucking hate local media. Yeah. It causes confusion. Yeah. It's just like why my friend immediately thought that her rights were being taken away because you're not actually too many words. Yeah. It's just simplified. Yeah. So people get it. Thank you, Miss Bonamichi. Miss, I'm sorry. You're recognized. Thank you, Madam Chair. Welcome back from your eight weeks of taxpayer fund education. It's good to see you and I hope you interrupt you. Republicans. I've been interrupt you, please. I am sick and tired of hearing you all say we had an eight week vacation. That's exactly what happened. It worked every day. I don't know about you. I don't know every single day. So we all say that every single day. And that's exactly what happened. That's exactly my comment. I'm a crack. I'm a wreck. I'm a wreck. I'm a wreck. I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves. While American families looked at their letters from their health insurance companies terrified that their insurance premiums were going to double or triple while the house was out of session for 53 days. That is unacceptable, Madam Chair. I thought they said it was 40. I love I think my favorite part of that was that she not only said it and just held to it. She just repeated it after and I'm like, bitch, you're not working hard. You're spending one hour walking getting paid from your office to the restaurant down the street. Yeah. Like you are giving a fuck. Bitch, you're not working. You're like, where can I get my insure? Oh, they're giving you know, that's what's happening with that lady. Bitch, you not working. Stop it. Don't even. All right, well, next. Hold on. Sorry. That was a little raspy. So a federal memo basically states, foster parents are free to misgender at well. This is this wonderful. So on October 16th, thank you for for the little white cloth open on October 16th. Alex Adams, the newly appointed assistant
Secretary for the US administration for children and families, obviously under President Trump, sent a letter to Washington's Department of Children, Youth and Families, to DCYF. He argued that requiring foster parents to affirm a child's gender identity is inconsistent with the First Amendment. So kids don't qualify for the First Amendment. They don't get their own-- I am right. Kids, right. Fuck your parents, right? Parents, greetings up. Get out of here, shut up, stop wasting your time. Kids, right? That's the only thing. Children have rights. They are the only ones that have rights to themselves. Period. Leave them alone. Yes. And anything that you do wrong to them, you will get punished for. Yeah. This included. Because you're an adult. Grow up. Some people's kids, which I mean you, the parents, the person with the kid, you're the problem. You're the person I'm talking about. I'm just saying you're like fuming it. I didn't-- You didn't know about this. I did not have time to process a lot of your stories before this. I'm processing as I'm reading and you're-- and I'm hearing you. That makes it fun. Okay. It might take our podcast a little longer to get through if Emily is coming. We need this. We need this energy. Okay. So our governor, Bob Ferguson, called the letter misleading and inflammatory and so Washington law requires caregivers to provide a supportive environment, including respecting a child's pronouns and chosen name. Well, that's good. Ferguson vowed to defend the state's policy, emphasizing the DCYF's mission is to protect children's welfare above all else. And the DCYF policy is perspective. Foster parents must agree to care for children in ways that respect their sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, including providing appropriate health care and clothing. So that's their policy. So the legal precedent in July of 2025, the ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals, if I don't know if everybody knows that we are in the ninth Circuit, appeals. It's good thing to know. Yeah. This stuff's hard. So if you can remember that, ninth, ninth. I remember that. So they rejected a similar rule in Oregon after a mother argued it violated her religious freedom. What? I know. That one pissed me off. The Trump administration is also investigating Oregon and Massachusetts policies, which are very similar to ours. I'm sorry. Like the audacity, I'm going back to that woman. The audacity for you to be like, I'm getting paid by the state to take care of a child and like, you're inflicting on me. Because I have to call her a different pronoun. Bitch, please. Yeah. I know. It's a fucking disaster. So research from the Trevor Project highlights the suicide risk among transgender and non-binary youth is four times higher than among cisgender peers, exceptance from supportive adults significantly reduces suicide attempts. Yeah. No, she is reviewing the federal letter and considering its options while reaffirming its commitment to ensuring children are placed in safe and affirming homes. Good. I know. Oh, I just like why I told people multiple to attack the kids. And I've told people multiple times that my least favorite or I wouldn't say was my least favorite committee. I would say it was the hardest legislative committee that I was ever on was literally the Children, Youth and Families Committee. It is these change names, but I am sitting here like hearing about kids being sexually assaulted and group homes. I'm sitting here hearing about kids being sexually assaulted in homes. I'm hearing about kids having to like sleep in people's cars because there's no money and like, yeah, and employees cars because they don't have anywhere else to put them for these foster parents taking the money and like, absolutely. Exactly. They're sexually assaulting them and they're like, it is what in shameless, like, I know I'm like so behind on watching that show, but like it highlights like both the transgender issue by the way, a little bit, which was a little offensive. They're like, no, you're a boy. Stop being a girl. Your mom. No, I don't know. Don't worry. Okay. Yeah. I'll wait. They grow too. Okay. Good. Yeah. They grow as a person. Everybody grows. Okay. They'll grow. Okay. Fuck and love that show. Can't believe I didn't watch it before. Oh my God. It's so good. But yeah, it was a hard committee hearing and like, and then also trying to like understand where if good foster parents were trying to come from. Yeah. And also trying to understand where like your parents that were like, you know, on the, I don't know. It's like, it's such, it's so hard because there's so much emotion involved in like having kids and like, and being a parent and being a foster parent. That's why that's why we had that we had Casa in Sonoma County. I don't know if it's everywhere, but it's, you know, court appointed a legal assistance for children for children. Yes. Services for children. Yeah. So because they deserve it. Yeah. They deserve their own aid. And sometimes it is getting a bad rep. And I think we just have to find that like right balance between like letting parents and families be who they are and be safe, but also keeping kids safe. Yeah. And also making sure that we're not, yeah, it's so hard. Sorry. But this is disgusting. It's so by the way that you can't like, it's infuriating. I can't be bothered to like take care of the child the way that they need to be taken care of. Yeah. Exactly. But I still want that to. Yeah. And I still, I want to be a parent, but, you know, I, the not the way the kid needs me to be. Yeah. It is. It's like kids are not your play thing to do whatever you want with. That's and that's how why so many people have kids. I know. Remember as a childless person, I actually have a great affinity to children because I don't want them to grow up in this horrible world. Yeah. And I also have more respect for them that I don't think that I'd be great for them. Yeah. Yeah. I'll be a good auntie. You're self-aware. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. And other people are having kids that absolutely shouldn't have children. My kid was still be better off than yours. Yeah. I mean, that till like some random bitch, you know, that just found out that Charlie Kirk died. Yeah. That's not our post. Till is getting like believe it. Like you guys are so far behind. I know even some of the comments we're getting on it still like, I don't know what this is about. I know. I know. I'm not for you. How did you find this? Like so we're going to talk about the $2,000 tariff checks. What the fuck is this? And I'm like, aren't those stimulus checks? And he was so all again, the stimulus check. I thought he did stimulus checks though. He did the first round. Yeah. But then after he got out of office, he talked a lot of shit about biting, giving more stimulus checks. Oh, okay. Yeah. Just checking. Yeah. He can do it, but no one else does. Literally the theme of the Republican Party. We can do it. You can. Yeah. Yeah. It's good when we do it. We do it. It's socialism. Capitalism. Exactly. The socialism. Okay. So Trump suggested giving Americans $2,000 dividends, not including the high income people. I don't know what he considers high income people, but whatever. Just not the high income people. And of course he posted this on true social like every president has ever done in the past. Let's talk about social media. Still let people know what he's doing. So experts say the math ain't math. And they actually says something more smart, but I put that in there. Even limiting payments to households under $100,000 income would leave at least $100 billion shortfall compared to expected tariff revenue. So in the fiscal year of 2025, the US collected $195 to $215 billion in customs, duties and tariffs early fiscal year of 2026. So let's talk to over to November of 2025 already has 37.5 billion collected annual projection, analysts and treasury estimates put new tariff revenue at about 300 billion per year. The cost of $2,000 checks is roughly $600 billion if distributed to 150 million Americans earning under $100,000. So obviously it doesn't work out. So he's not going to be able to send checks to everybody. He's going to be able to send checks to about half of those people. And also it's like, what are you going to do with $2,000? Like I mean, that too. I was like, haven't we haven't we spent more in that because of prices going up by now? All of us like on groceries altogether, we've probably spent more than $2,000 at this point. So thanks. That's what I mean. Like I remember one time we were at the casino and my friend Scott was on the big ballers, like betting and he won $5,000 and everyone's like, you know, and they made a big rott of it and everybody came. And then like we went and got some food and you know, they were like, oh, we got this. We won and I go, it's only $5,000. You should put all that towards like whatever you need to do. And they were like, right, it's on them. And the big scheme of things. I mean, did we like the stimulus checks? Like I don't know. They were like that purpose though of the stimulus checks. Yeah. We're actually literally to stimulate like to stimulate the economy. And so they wanted people to go out and buy TVs by Thanksgiving dinner and like use it as like, hey, we need, but this is like, hey, look, I did these because I did these tariff. I did something good. And then I'm giving back to you, but I actually screwed everything up. So you literally need this money because I'm just saying you about call me the good guy. I just I am so shocked at the level of fucking idiots in our fucking country. I didn't.
- Yeah. - And in positions of leadership, I have so much to tell you next week, you look like, I can't wait. - Oh God, I can't wait. (laughing) - Oh wait, I will wait. - I will wait. - I have one more. - So Sammy wanted to prep me for this next segment. And, - I thought it was a minute. - Sammy was asking if she should read all the names and what they're in for, what happened, and what they got. - What they're being pardoned for. - Okay. And she said, "I wanna make sure I can read all of these names, but I'm sure I can because they're all white." - No, I said they're all white people in name. They're all white people in name. - Yeah, different. - Yeah. - 'Cause they're not all white. The only one that I would say, "Yeah, you're right." They are all, and then they're all white. - Okay, let's just get started. - Okay, here is. - Well, we're talking about the pordins. All the pordins. - All the pordins. - All the pordins. - All the pordins. - The pordins in the-- - The pordins in the-- - The pordins in the-- - The pordins in the-- (laughing) - So President Trump, second-terred party have overwhelmingly benefited his inner circle. And I'm sure you'll hear that when I read off all the names. A political allies, loyalists and insiders. So, first, while I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go through 'em. Are you ready? - Yeah. - Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, John Eastman, Sydney Powell, Kenneth Chesapew, Chesapew, Chesapew. Jenna Ellis, Christina Bob, Boris F. Stein, Tyler Bauer, George Santos, Paul Wallzac, Michael Fiori, and Scott Jenkins. Do you need to know why any of those people are being pardoned? - Well, it includes cash for badges, bribery scheme. Convicted-- - Also a lot of churnary fraud stuff. - Convicted of tax evasion. How does seven-year sentence commuted? Indicted on fake elector in Arizona. Part and for involvement in 2020 election schemes. Part and for role in election challenges. - Wait, did you notice Tyler Bauer is the CO, or COO of turning point USA? - I did see that. - And Tpa say. - And George Santos, like, where's my fucking chat? - Yeah, yeah. - I heard that people that get pardoned also get a billion dollars-- - I'm sure you've told them. - Or at least $2,000. - Dollars. - Yeah. - Where's Matt onto the list? - Check. - So obviously, he's just being a fucking asshole. - The summary, I just-- - You know what's crazy is I was actually looking at other part-- There's so many part-- - These are the ones that I knew who they were. It's like, these are obvious that he's just pardoning them because they total people-- - How many total people-- - His ass. - Did he pardon? - Oh, there's so many. I think he's up to $3,000 at this point, but that is not the highest. I did look that up, so I was talking about that in there. - Who is the highest? - I can't remember at the moment. I think it might be Jimmy Carter. - No. - Who is President-Drew at the end of the Vietnam War? - Oh, LBJ. - Yes, yeah, he was the-- - Oh, he's gonna be a big highlight of my next week, so. - Oh, cool. - I can't wait. - But yeah, like seriously, you're just pardoning people. - Well, like they all didn't pardon people to benefit themselves or pardon people because they were loyal to them. Like they mostly pardon like draft dodgers or-- - Let's try to-- - You know, for-- - Let's try to not justify the actions of men that have like led this country at this point. We're speculating we should do more research on that. - They haven't done a great job. - I mean, like I'm a fan of LBJ, you know? And I guess, I don't know if I was ever a fan of Clinton. I think that's like, he might have been the reason that I wasn't a Democrat for a whole time. - I'm gonna say you were a Republican at that time, so maybe Emily knows that she's talking about, you know what I mean? - Yeah. - I'm not wrong. - I didn't turn out to be great, so I'm not wrong. - Yeah, and I still support Hillary. - Yeah. - And a part women, that's what we do. - Absolutely, except for Marjorie Taylor Green. - Speaking of men, are we at the end of the year? - Okay, well, that was it. I just thought it was a quick pardon. Like how everybody's getting pardons. - Yeah, I mean, it's ridiculous. - So speaking of that, this is a little long. So I'll just play like the first half to like not the first half, but the part where I feel like is a good end point. Where I was like, that was a good line. So I did just wanna say really quickly that I'm sick of seeing like the New York Times stuff about how women ruin the workplace. - Yes. - And I'm like very much into all of the posts about it. - What was it specifically liberal women too? - I think they changed the title and the headline of the story like multiple times, but it ended up being like, did women ruin the workplace? - Just women in general. - Women just ruined the workplace. So thanks. But this one like really, really spoke to me. So here it is. - Crazy thing is everybody will always be like, well like men need to run the country because like men are natural leaders. Like men lead, like men need to run the government. Because like that's their role. They're just like natural leaders. And it's like, well, from my perspective and forgive me, like this is just my point of view. Most men can't even run a household. Like most men can't even run a Thanksgiving dinner. Most men can't even lead like a discussion with like baseline good communication skills. Most men like can't lead their way to rezzy.com to make a dinner reservation. I would bet you that many of our presidents like couldn't even run a mile. Like we don't exactly even have proof that men can run anything that well. But now you're telling me that they are naturally just like gifted and running governments. And like they're telling me this is the most powerful country in the world. So you're telling me that like even though we have no proof they can run lead, execute anything else, they should do the government. Like it's so lost on me. Sorry, men can't even lead the way. Like Lewis and fucking Clark used Sakajaya to lead the way. Like that it was her. They can't even lead the fucking way. They can't even read a map. Like no, it's just not. It's just not going to be ever making sense. So the crazy. Yeah, that's it. All of it, all that. That's fucking it. Also because I was looking at my phone for that brief moment, I saw another thing that I wanted to post. Did you know that Teen Vogue has been like a leading voice on political news for young people? No. So is it good? So it was yes. And actually, CondiNast, I don't want to play this. It's very long. And I should have the name of this reporter offhand, but I just saw the post. And I was like, yes, they did a press conference. This was earlier this month. It was like, OK, let me just play the beginning part of it. OK? My name is Lex McMenneman. You may know me otherwise as Comrade Teen Vogue. And until last Monday, I was the politics section at Teen Vogue. I was the only one left. So I was the one person politics section of Teen Vogue. On November 3rd, myself, Brittany McMarramara, features director as well as our identity editor. I am Ishmael, our style editor. Caitlin McNabb, our culture editor, our art team, B. Oyster, and Emily Zaremis, our editor in chief, versus Sharma. We were all laid off by CondiNast in the restructuring of Teen Vogue and folding it into Vogue. [MUSIC PLAYING] I don't remind you all I have written notes, and I'm making no comments. [LAUGHTER] Of the eight of us who were laid off last week, five were women of color, two were the only remaining black staffers on the editorial staff at Teen Vogue. I was the only trans staffer, and I was laid off. And one of my proudest memories, one of the things I was proudest of about working at Teen Vogue, was having leadership that was women of color consecutively for several years, or rarity in this building. [CHEERING] Teen Vogue recently had its 20th birthday, but many of you probably learned about us in 2016 under the first Trump administration, where people became aware of our willingness to speak truth to power, to fact check our speech, and to resolutely clarify what is happening in the world, from Palestine to trans rights, campus organizing, you name it, we were willing to talk about it. [CHEERING] I'll just stop there, but-- So let's not share this. No, it's not going to be this scary. And we need to talk about journalism more and more and more and more and more. And how it's been silenced? Yes. And I have heard some really exciting things about journalism lately in the same way that we have democracy dollars. And Seattle has democracy dollars, where it's like publicly funded campaigns if you sign up, and you get a certain number of people to give you $5, and they sign their name, and they say they want to support you, then you qualify for democracy dollars. OK. And if you qualify for that, you get money to run your campaign, and you get equal money to run your campaign. And then people get to choose. They get everybody like every voter is like, oh, I have $100 in democracy dollars. I'm going to give $25 to this council member. I'm going to give $250 to my mayoral candidate I want. Whatever. It's a very cool thing. Yeah. They were talking about doing that for media. So we kind of want to-- and this is beginning stages, and someone brought it up. But think about being able to take publicly funded dollars, and you put that towards NPR. Or you say, I want to give this to PBS. I mean, I want to give this to Hannah Krieg. I want to give it to Emily Wixson, but we're not-- But you know, people that are-- Whatever, if it's a radio station, I want to give it to KXKR, KRKX. I think it's a cool concept. And making sure people have accessibility to news and information. And not boxes. And not boxes. I mean, you know, but like being able to support a journalist that actually is going out.
and reporting on that local city council. Like, hey, maybe you want to give $10, like you have, we don't have these new, Sam talked about it. We don't have these local news outlets anymore. There's no Mary'sville Globe anymore. There's barely a Mary'sville North County outlook. Yeah. Like those things are gone and the ever-herald is struggling too. And that's like the never-erald is, yeah. Not gonna. It's very, very good. It's, well, it's problematic. So if we can, I'm, is beginning stages, but something to think about. Anyway, sorry, that was annoying. And porn journalism is. Yeah. I want to remind everybody that we have a Sonahomish County podcast network event on December 10th. Anyone's welcome. It's a Wednesday, Wednesday, December 10th. Yep. Don't forget it at Rustic Quark and Mill Creek. Rustic Quark Mill Creek. We're gonna hang out. I met someone yesterday that has been my Facebook friend for a long time. That is going to be there. I'm really excited. Yeah. They are starting a podcast, but they're doing it. Like I think with KUOW. So I'm like super jealous. Yeah, I was gonna say that. Get it? For all? Yeah, totally big time. Yeah. So very exciting. A lot of good things happening and people sharing their insights and everything. So I'm excited to drink some wine. It'll be really fun. It'll be a little Christmas party. Yeah. A little holiday party. A little holiday treat. Love it. Let's think of something cute to do. Okay. Besides our, we're not gonna say it. We're planning. Yeah. We're gonna do it. We're gonna make it fun. But like, I feel like we need some a little bit of RSVPs. No, I have an idea. I have an idea. Do you ugly sweaters? Well, okay. We're gonna announce it right now. Everyone needs to wear their sweaters. It doesn't have to be ugly, but it's definitely sweat-a-weather. Sweater weather. We're gonna, after this, we have to make a post about it. I'm gonna say it. Yeah. Wear your sweat-a-weather. It's sweat-a-weather. Okay, that's a rule. And then, like, let us know if you're gonna be there. Yeah. Just like, I'm not asking for you to like, get a ticket. But like, no, yeah, it doesn't, yeah. You have to be able to eat that. Come with like, good vibes. Love it. And that's all you need to do. I'm not so late. What time is it at? So, how six to eight? Six to eight. We're gonna be able to do it. It is? I'd be hour all day that day. Ooh. Why? Why though? I don't know. So, she told me, I think we just like nailed it. We just nailed it. I think we nailed it. Yeah. Love it. We got to go. We got to go. [LAUGHTER] Okay, we'll see you next week. Doodles. Bye. Thanks for listening.
