The other day might have won them a game through the APS system. What do you think of that decision, those decisions by him, but also the whole system in general so far? I love it. I think as the season goes along, guys like Joey Bart are going to get more confident. I believe that was one of the first ones he got right. The ball up is a game changer because it's the one ball that's really hard to call those up and down. East and West, you can kind of tell because these guys study the empires. And empires have a favorite zone most of the time. It is that down and away on either side of the zone, they usually don't have a big window upstairs where they give a lot of pitches. So that's where you can really change the game. The pitch up, the breaking ball that looks high to everybody even the hitter. And it's a strike like Joey did. I think that's the coolest part is once you learn it and you start to trust it and confidence grows, we're going to see guys really use it to their advantage. One thing I can't would see is someone catching wise. I saw it the other day, but I want to see one of our guys who have grabbed it and pulled it out of his own. They call it a strike and the other team use a challenge because they look back and their brain says, I need to tap. Try to play that game. It's something a lot of us have talked behind the scenes about. And I think we're going to start seeing a little bit more. Well, it's interesting you mentioned that because pitch framing, a lot of people felt like, well, what does that matter anymore? It almost feels like it's more important because you want to get it, you want to fool the umpires and get teams to exhaust their challenges. Those borderline pitches, right? Yeah, I think the ABS, maybe not this year, but going into next year for catchers is going to be a part of the goal of conversation. I think guys that can still strikes and keep strikes and then also gain strikes by understanding what balls are being called, or we strikes are being called balls, are going to just elevate their ability to get runs back for your team by strikes. Yeah, I think it's, I think it's a game changer if you understand the zone and you can receive well, it's going to be a value that I think all teams are looking at. I mean that's why Henry Davis and Joy Bart are slowly gauging into that positive realm with a really good staff and you think about it, right? If you can flip account with Paul Schienes, that's a different animal. If you can flip account with ashcrafts, you know, from 0 to say 1 0 to 1 1 or even 0 0 to 0 1, that's a 200 point dip in average that the that the hitters facing them. It's it's crazy. So it met every pitch matters. Michael, sorry, one more that comes up is why is it just a fluky stat or is there something to this that it seems like the pitchers ERAs with Davis have been much better than with Bart, like what is happening there? Um, it's it's not fluky. Henry is a surgeon when I say to game calling. Bart, I believe, is trending in a really good direction with that. I mean, just how to start shout out the other day. I think Bart has always been offensive minded, even when he came over here when he was with the Giants. And I think he's really embraced the role of being complement. That's really good to see. It's not easy for a first rounder to say, I'm going to sit behind this first rounder who I've had better numbers than, but Henry is a surgeon when it comes to understanding his guys, understanding the guy at the plate, understanding the situation, even taking an account the miss. You know, I was big into that. A lot of guys don't even think about it, but then also how to pull guys back into the zone. Yeah, he's four or five steps ahead. The playoff game last night, even other playoff games that I've seen this year that went to overtime. Penguins flyers that went to overtime. It's always going to be good, but this day and age, the shorter the better. It's one of the things that's helping to save baseball is these changes they've made to their sport that have shortened the game. It's a short attention span. And yes, overtime is going to be tension packed and entertaining no matter what, but even a full period of overtime. I don't want to go to a second one. I don't and we were getting awfully close there last night. Did they go to a second one? No, they went to the end of the first one, I think. Right at the end of the first one is when Caroline is scored. I don't think it went second over time. I don't want to see it even get close. And I was thinking watching that game and penguins flyers. I want 10 minutes of five on five followed by five minutes of four on four and five minutes of three on three. If you make it all the way to the second overtime through that, God bless them. I'll watch the second overtime. You stayed three on three at that point. No, you start four on four in the second overtime for five minutes. And then you go three on three. I don't see anything wrong with that. Does anybody care about the huge goal and the Olympics that it would even remember it was three on three? Do you care? Nobody will. You know what I mean? Were you covering the five overtime penguins game? Yes, I was. What was your worry thing as I was unfolding? Then I had a date that night. First date with somebody and it got absolutely. Probably didn't work out. And torpedoed. And that's really all I cared about. What time did that game end? Like 12, 30 maybe one in the morning. Okay. 130. I don't remember Keith Primo. I do remember that. I remember they ran out of everything in the press box. And it was one of the most devastating losses in the history of the franchise. They went on to lose that. See they never won again. They won the first two games in Philly. In Philly. So you're figuring they're going to win this in six games at most. They might even sweep when they get home. And was that game four? I can't remember just a brutal loss. And they never won again that year. That was a fun team too. Do you agree or disagree? You want to see four on four and three on three and NHL over time. I would definitely play honestly. I would keep it as is. But I agree with you. It does. What if you get what if you get to the second and third and then the game by the game slows down. It's not good hockey at that point. Guys can barely move. Right. And it always ends up. I mean not always. It's usually kind of a ugly goal that ends it. It's nothing pretty. Once you get to that deep into the game. So we buy if you get to the second overtime. It's got to be four on four. You're still not buying. Are you? Yeah. I would probably keep it as is just because it doesn't happen that much. But I do agree it. And I feel the same about baseball. When you get into playoffs and you have regular extra innings. You're not doing the placed runner or whatever. Some of those I've seen in the last two post seasons as a Mariners fan. 18 inning game 16 inning game into playoffs. It's exhausting. But I still prefer that way to get maybe a more true winner. I think I'm ready for the ghost runner on second in playoffs. A real runner. I guess in playoffs. Yeah. I am ready for that in baseball. Maybe I'll compromise and say starting in the 11th inning. Things change. It's interesting because the NFL's change over time has made it longer longer. Yeah. It's kind of the opposite. But that feels fair to me. Right. Schienz to try to lock him up with some big guarantee dollars and maybe get a year or two of free agency bought out My answer Sean was I don't think any other players injury is gonna scare Schienz into taking a deal he doesn't want to sign And assuming he stays healthy and I realize that's the conversation here the deal he will someday sign is gonna be historic I don't think he looks on this and and and says man, I better get some guaranteed money here. I You know, I don't think this really changes the equation for him whatsoever It's a different story if we see school will have this injury and then next year suffers a significant arm injury that keeps him out for a year Plus and then you're looking at okay that guy's value actually will be impacted but at this point I don't think teams are that hesitant to give big money to pictures who add maybe one significant injury As long as they prove that they're able to come back from it which usually more times the not pictures have been able to do I Mentioned Otoni. We mentioned Jacob to Grom who had myriad injuries. These guys are still getting paid big money They still look like elite pictures after a significant setback medically So I don't think that that's nearly as much of a concern until you get to the point where that becomes part of the guy's track record where he's Battled significant arm or shoulder injuries right for multiple seasons But I don't think Schienz looks at that says oh, I better panic and and sign a deal now. I always would have the mindset Take the money early because you're set for life if you get even in his case 300 million would be a bargain you're set for life you never have to worry about anything But that's not how agents and players approach things they try to milk it for every penny and I think that will be his his path All right, well they have the diamondbacks tonight and the diamondbacks just had a little rough turn through the NL Central They lost two of three to Milwaukee by scores of 13 to two and 13 to one and then they got swept by the Cubs by cumulative score of 17 to nine So they're getting hammered going through this division I think that the pirates will take two of three, but I don't think they win tonight I think Bubba Chandler unfortunately continues to struggle. I don't see good signs there and more importantly Eduardo Rodriguez is really good. He's 2 and 0 with a 3.03 ERA he even had a what we used to call a schemes game earlier this season where he shut out the braves over seven innings And some wait a second and his team lost two to nothing. How was that possible? He was the world baseball class secure. Am I correct? That's the same guy Yeah, was he a hero? I don't remember he was in the world baseball class that just goes to show how I feel about the world baseball class I remember nothing about it looking at the pitching matchups. He's certainly game two the pirate should be able to win They've got schemes against Soroka Keller against Zach Galen in the third game. I would agree with you I like two of three. I do wonder if Chandler continues to to struggle is he potentially the odd man out I wonder I wonder about that too. Maginsky's Been okay. I don't think anyone says he has to stay in the rotation. He's the obvious candidate to move But if he's clearly giving you better starts than Chandler It would be tough to to keep Chandler in there with his ERA hovering around five. I know But Chandler when you think about the long-term potential that's probably a guy you give you know way more Flak to here, right? But it is tough if you really look at this year as a contending year. Yeah Well, it's not like Maginsky's tearing it up here. No So I don't know what they'll do. I do know Rodriguez was the only guy To win a game for the diamond backs in their last six. He beat Milwaukee six to two He's tough And I think they win tonight But man, I'm gonna enjoy it. I'm gonna stay up and I love West Coast baseball I really do I do as well. I told you I'm a Mariners fan. It's sometimes you know you're gonna be up. That's when the Or over 13 any games right to one knows start to hurt a little bit when you start looking at two o'clock in the morning, but And I love the fact that schemes and Keller go back to back Keller's been their best guy a two eight five ERA and a three and one record He's just been tremendous is this the year that he sustains it for six months Well, the the smart bet is no Because he hasn't done that yet. He's 30 years old, but maybe it is maybe it is you just look at last year for example Olimitless wonder and He started out bad with a four or five went down to three five four three and then he was really good in July horrible in august And pretty good in September. He's better than what he showed last year But normally, you know, it's funny. He has the reputation of being mr. consistency But when he actually look at his career month to month, it's actually wildly inconsistent And he has blow up starts that ruin his overall numbers. I hope that's out of the way everybody gets one or two of those I hope those are gone And I hope this is the year because he has the arsenal to do it.
