Chandler Hallow on Rock Bottom, Fatherhood, and God (EP 218)
55m 15s
The podcast features a heartfelt conversation between host Bryce Crawford and guest Chandler Hallow, reflecting on faith, personal growth, and the challenges of maintaining a deep relationship with God in modern life. Chandler shares his journey from depression and emotional struggle to a renewed faith, emphasizing that true spiritual growth comes through consistent, intentional habits—like daily Bible reading, prayer, and listening to God without distraction. The discussion highlights how modern distractions, such as social media and video games, can blind us to the presence of God, and how surrendering these habits fosters deeper connection and humility. Fatherhood is presented as a transformative experience that cultivates patience, love, and a focus on spiritual devotion. The hosts also explore the idea that faith is not a static state but a continuous process of learning and trust, even at life’s peak or in times of crisis. They encourage listeners to prioritize God in their daily lives, not just through grand gestures but through small, consistent acts. The conversation ends with a prayer for those in spiritual darkness, asking God to lead them to Him before they reach a breaking point. The episode blends personal stories, theological reflection, and practical spiritual discipline, promoting a view of faith as dynamic, relational, and deeply lived. Additional segments promote faith-based outreach, including campus evangelism and the importance of community, while also highlighting the power of simple, grounded moments—like a shared meal with friends and a cold Pepsi—highlighting how everyday experiences can become vessels of joy and spiritual connection.

the episode what's going on guys welcome back to another episode of the bryce crawford podcast i'm
bryce and today i'm with a friend and someone that's been on here before we got chandler hallow
let's go finally in studio yeah first it's nice first time we came to you which was really fun
but how have you been bro it's been a while i've been good um how long has it been three years
we we hung out 2024 into 24 so almost two years yeah okay yeah i mean but you're you're like you're
like the kind of friend that if we go six months without speaking to each other it's not weird
yeah you know like sometimes there's this like a burden on friendships where you like if you
if you don't like someone's posts on instagram then it's like oh you're not my friend like why
do you hate me yeah and then it's like oh well actually yeah i do love you you know kind of
thing yeah i feel like the the closer you are to someone the closer you are to someone the
like the less you have to like prove like that you are close yeah yeah yeah so it's been two
years since you last been on let's just call it two years what's changed since the last time you
came yeah i think i got a little taller i think so too yeah no i'm just kidding i agree yeah i
mean i'm i've been married four years now let's go my anniversary was like two days ago oh awesome
yeah so and i'm a father now yes yeah how's that
it's been good yeah i remember asking god i was like lord i want to know like how to love like
you and like how you love us like i want to know that more i feel like through having a kid god
showed me that like the love of the father yeah he's been teaching me that so it's been really
good yeah so can you kind of like so you grew up in greenville yeah and you're still there i
know we're going to talk about that earlier but i just feel like you kind of need to move out here
where the sun's a little brighter in la man i don't know man it's just so far away well i told
you you can move in with me so that's okay yeah if you want to move in with me you know my whole
family too yeah i mean they're more than welcome to be here as well okay all right i'll think about
it yeah please do yeah so so i kind of want to know something i'm so encouraged by you or
encouraged about you from did i phrase that right encouraged
i'm encouraged by you there we go i'm so encouraged by uh dude your faithfulness and
and how steady your relationship with the lord is i think something that can be a little difficult
that maybe i sense right now is you know christianity has been on the rise in the last i
would say a year and a half it's become popular impacting a lot of people and stuff like that and
now i feel like the last few months there's been this interesting tension it's not on a decline
i don't think it's necessarily on the decline it's not on the decline it's not on the decline
it's like skyrocket like off the chart rise but i feel like a lot of people are in this mundane area
where now they're like i don't even know what to do you know what i mean like what does it look
like to have faith going forward and stuff like that like what do you think yeah for me like
i know like i'm i think about like in the bible it talks about you know the woman
um or jesus talks to i think it's the tax collector and then the woman
yeah in the house where he eats dinner with the tax collector and he's like tells him like
you know i've if i forgive this person of i know you probably know it better than me i'm
trying to remember it but um if i forgive a person that owes me 50 000 this is not the
right numbers but or i forgive the person that owes me five bucks which one is gonna
like be more thankful or love more you know yeah and i just think about like how much the
lord has forgiven me and that makes me love him so much more and want to pursue him so much more
and you know the bible says blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
you know for they shall be satisfied and i i ask for that you know i pray for that to be
hungry and thirsty for him always because i don't want to ever not be and he always shows up he
always satisfies me whenever i truly like seek him you know so i think that's been a big like
part of me not being like stagnant or what do i do now you know like so i don't know if that answers
your question yeah no like i feel i think one of the hardest things and well i became a christian
at 17 and 22 now wait how old are you i'm 27 dang really dang well but okay but the thing about you
being 27 is you don't look older because of your like facial hair like you look young you're just
you know what i mean i'm
yeah your height makes you feel 32 you know i know man i feel like people think i'm like 35
hey at least i said 32 yeah i was i don't know my brother he's 6 8 what yeah people think he's
the younger brother i think my job has aged me i've been doing this since i was 18 like youtube
and stuff so well 27 that's not bad yeah you're coming up you're coming up on your uh coming up
on 30 yeah it's it's sneaking up on you it's like you're like you're like you're like you're like
on you it is yeah quickly i'm just kidding no i've been uh i've been a christian for five years
and i always heard older leaders like talk about you know friends or pastors and stuff like falling
away yeah and uh but i've seen so many people leave the faith within five years and i've seen
like common themes of people either not being planted in a local church or people riding an
emotional high or something like that and so when i'm looking at how like for me right now i still
think christianity is still like something people are like excited about but it's definitely not at
the at like the you know the peak trend that it was a while ago yeah and so i i'm just like right
now i have this weight on my chest like a holy fear of god where i'm just like man i want to see
people last a lifetime you know be more on fire for jesus when they're 60 years old than they
were when they were 20 yeah or when they were 13 or when they were 50 or whatever it may be
wherever they land on the spectrum of age
and you know growing up and um yeah i don't know that's just something i've been thinking about a
lot i just feel like right now people are in this like weird tension area where it's not a decline
it's not an incline but people are in the mundane you know you're not at a peak of life you're not
at a low of life but it's just kind of like an average tuesday going through the routine
yeah and it can feel like god's not there what would you say to the person that doesn't feel god
and so there may be questioning if god loves them god's worthy of our of our
time and praise and worship even if we don't feel him you know that's just a fact so i mean i don't
feel god all the time but i know he's there because he says he is it's like do you believe
what god says that's one thing like if he says he's there then you should believe that even if
you don't feel him yeah and if he says he loves you then you should believe that even if you
aren't feeling the emotion that is associated with love you know
um but i also think you have to want it you have to want to have like you have to want the lord's
presence which in his presence you get those things you know yeah get the love then the
feeling that you want and he wants to give it to us so i think yeah for people that don't feel it
they're in the mundane like you have to want to take that next step to go deeper into the water
of jesus and just like being with the lord and i i mean i pray for it like
especially early on like i would have to pray to like want to read my bible
like lord i want to read my bible
will just um not because it's the right thing to do but i want to want to read it you know like i
pray for these things because i know i was like i was just being super honest with myself and with
god and i would pray for the things that i wanted and he was faithful you know well yeah what has
god been teaching you specifically lately god has been teaching me to trust him uh to rely on him
like daily and to seek him just like for my life like what to do with my life and
even in the daily things like so i would say just trust trusting him relying on him um
giving more of myself to him like the lord's just asking for more of my time like over the
you know last few years for sure like i was telling isaac this earlier um i used to play
video games like six to eight hours a day because i just love video games yeah and then when i was
reading my bible like but i would always read my bible first for what 30 minutes and then i'd go
play video games for eight hours yeah and then the lord was just kept like convicting me asking
me like hey can i have more of your time like and so eventually now i don't even play video games
like that often wow so the lord has been asking for more of me he's not like
you know we feel like we have to give up everything but the lord like
knows us yeah and he knows like if he was like hey give up your eight hours of video game time
right now and like we would be like no like i don't want to do that so he asked me for just
a little by little you know and then now my love for the lord and spending time with him is greater
my love for video games you know so it's not a hard decision yeah yeah dang that's so interesting
i think well i want to go back on the trust thing too because i think that's very important that you
brought that up but yeah i i can't remember if we were talking about it at brunch today but like i
no i don't think i told you this something i got convicted of which you know this will be
uh like i don't know when this is coming out so it might be a while from when this happened but
a couple you know about five minutes ago i was like i don't know when this is coming out
five days ago from today uh i was talking to my friend because i found myself scrolling a bunch
on social media yeah and like in in random times mindlessly like it was a subconscious behavior i
was doing like i wasn't even thinking about it was just a habit and uh i didn't like it even even
if it wasn't anything bad you know even i was picking up and scrolling just randomly for a
why did i just do that like why can't i be still yeah right now why can't i sit in silence and talk
to god why am i
having you know more why is it easier for for me to pick my phone back up than it is for me
to get quiet with god and that was like that battle i was having and finally i got to a point
where i just realized that there was a part of me that was i wasn't dependent on social media but
it was thought i thought that things were dependent on me whether it was social media or other things
and i realized then that that root then means that oh god can't do something without me and when i
realized that going like getting you know talking to jesus and go man i'm so sorry like i repent for
not even realizing that i thought i couldn't that you could do things without me you know
yeah and ever since like kind of deleting the social off my phone and just getting that time
back getting those you know spending more time with relationships spending more time in conversation
fellowship with people and jesus and my wife and actually enjoying the world that god created
it's definitely number one taking a weight off my shoulders but also i've experienced this new
profound level of knowing jesus yeah and it all stemmed back from three months ago i felt like
god was telling me to delete social media off my phone yeah and i convinced myself that it wasn't
him telling me to do that and it's
slowly like blinded me yeah so why he was telling me to get off and i didn't realize how it was
affecting me and affecting my heart and affecting uh our our relationship and my relationship with
people and friends and things and now i'm so glad that you know god god was able to work that on my
heart but i think that's yeah i think that's so good and for other people it may not be social
media or video games you know it may be sports maybe girlfriend or boyfriend it may be something
else but i think it is interesting
so so what what made you recognize that was that just conviction or did a friend say something
or was it in your bible time like what was what was like the revelation for you
man it was like definitely conviction like the holy spirit just
convicted me i would like hey quick pause if someone's ever hit you with a hard question
about your faith and you froze up this is for you in case you've never heard of it

start your exclusive 60-day free trial and grab the bundle at logos.com slash bryce that's logos.com
slash bryce links in the description all right back to the episode in my mind i made this like
thing like okay i'm not allowed to play video games until i read my bible like this is my
reward for reading my bible yeah and then i would get up there and be like
man i'm i can play for six hours in a row like it's nothing yeah and i can't read my bible for
more than 30 minutes wow you know or you know and that was over the course of like you know a few
months like just dealing with that and then slowly like the lord growing me like you know changing my
heart to want to read more and also like i remember one night i was like i just finished reading
my bible and i was gonna get on and then i played one like game it was like 10 minutes i was like
i gotta get off yeah and i just went back to read my bible like and i feel like that was a big shift
and wow me you know prioritizing the lord over you know what i wanted to do and you know play
video games well it's crazy how quick it creeps in yeah or you don't even realize it whatever that
you know wedge may be of yeah whatever whatever's blinding you or blocking you or hindering your
relationship with god and but for me like the conviction came after the clear that i was gonna
have clarity of like why i kept you know subconsciously going you know and then i
realized oh wait i think that god can't do things without me so that's why i keep inserting myself
with busyness yeah whereas like i was blind to it and then my my conviction point before getting
the clarity was why do i feel clouded in my brain like why can't i hear clearly and why are my
desires like why is my desire shifted yeah and and i was like why is my desire shifted
yeah and and and i was like why is my desire shifted yeah and and i was like why is my desire shifted and things like that and then i was like wow this is but and then fresh revelation is so cool once you get fresh revelation after a while or whatever it may be um have you ever heard that quote i've been talking about this a lot but it just makes me laugh and i can't stop thinking of it people say uh the teacher stays silent during the test yeah dude i hate that quote yeah i hate that quote yeah i think it's so dumb well because like people like use that i think as a as a crutch to go oh this is why i can't feel god's love
god because god's testing me right now and i'm like okay is that why you can't feel god or is
you're just bible shut yeah you know what i mean i'm like that god doesn't stay silent during the
test he's he's in the test with you he's in you at every low yeah and i think people expect
revelation every time from god and and i've fallen victim of that too or yeah no i expect
god to shine a ray beam down on oh you're supposed to make this decision but actually god might just
be trying to teach me how to be a better friend yeah and and this and that's how i hear god
um but like that quote makes me just like freak out a little bit because i'm like man that like
that is i don't want to use that as a crutch you know what i mean and i i've used that in the past
as a crutch and i know so many people do and that might even blind people like to a mistake like i'm
talking about and you're talking about where it's like no that was a self-inflicted mistake like we
were choosing something over god in that moment you know yeah yeah i mean that was a habit i just
had before i was even walking with the
lord so like yeah i mean i had to make a shift you know once i decided to fully just give my
life to jesus like you know that was something the lord was just teaching me anyway but
i mean it was hard you know yeah i definitely chose video games over time with the lord
many times until like you know the lord was asking little by little until my love grew
yeah surpassing for for the other things you know is there like a hot hobby or a personality
trait that it's like that's something you carried over from before you were walking with the lord
and then god has told you to surrender it
Is there like a hobby or a personality trait that God has used that you were once using for yourself for him?
Does that kind of make sense?
Yeah.
I'm trying to think though because I don't like talking to people like a lot.
I'm not a big like talk.
I don't like talking to random people.
You're not a big talker.
No.
Okay.
I was just curious.
Oh, you did?
Yeah.
I guess you knew that, huh?
But yeah, I just like I'm fine with staying in the house and never seeing a person.
You know, like, but, and that's like my personality.
Yeah.
The Lord's like calling me out of that to talk to people because, you know, I do, the
Lord has blessed me with influence and he's using that, you know, to reach other people,
you know?
Yeah.
So that's something that I've been growing in and learning like, okay, like I just need
to be uncomfortable and just talk to people, you know, and genuinely like listen to them
and, you know.
You know, because I need to have like that heart for people that, you know, the heart
that the Lord had for me, like I need to have that for other people, you know, even, even
if it's not my natural tendency.
Yeah.
I love that you earlier too brought up trusting God because when I'm thinking back on when
people ask me what I'm learning, I always find myself saying I'm always learning to
trust God or when I talk to older people, every time I see Cliff, I go, what's God teaching
you?
And he goes, oh, I'm learning to trust God.
I'm thinking, dude, you're like 70 something years old, bro.
Like you would have thought you had a grip on trusting God right now.
And he's like, he, one time he told me, he was like, yeah, like you, you never stop learning
to trust God.
Yeah.
And I just thought that was so profound.
So when you bring that up, I'm like, you know what?
I'm in that season.
Even, even if I'm on like the peak, oh, I feel his presence.
This is amazing.
And I'm on this cause you know, people have those moments.
Yeah.
It's like, I'm still learning to trust you because even though I can't see you and I
know you're there, the, I got laid off my job the next week or I got the cancer diagnosis
or I got, you know, I, I, I fell back into sin or whatever that, you know, it may be
insert for each person.
Um, it's like, man, trusting God is this, this continual place of God, I need you to
trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
Yeah.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
Yeah.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
I need to trust him.
Yeah.
It's like, okay Lord, I'm trusting in you for this.
Oh, now I've actually put my trust in you for this, and now it's something new.
Yeah.
It's like he upgrades you to the next thing in your life that he wants you to rely on
him for and trust in him for.
Wow.
So, when you say, "Cliff 70," he's like, "I'm trusting.
I'm learning.
I'm trusting God."
I feel like God just gives you something after you've gotten the last one.
Now, let's move to the next one.
Yeah.
And the next one.
Wow.
So, I feel like the Lord shared that with me about trusting.
So, it's just like, I'll ask myself, like, okay, now Lord, what do you want me to do?
What do you want me to trust in you for?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
So, you're a dad now?
Yeah.
Do you like being a dad?
I love it.
Yeah.
How's that been?
It's been good.
It's definitely grown me in, like, patience.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, babies, you take care of them, so.
It actually, like, once you have a kid, it's like, you don't worry about your own life
anymore, like, as you used to.
It's like, you don't worry about your own life anymore, like, as you used to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like, your life is second now.
Like, you care about your child's life more than your own.
Like, it's a crazy switch in your mind, like, and that was something new, like, which I,
I didn't really notice at first until I'm like, I'm, I'd rather take care of my child
first than my own well-being, you know, and I'm like, I'm not gonna be a dad.
I'm not gonna be a mom.
I'm not gonna be a dad.
like just be in like the the crowd or whatever and it was so cool like the what they did they
did worship and they did like a teaching on healing with a testimony attached to it same
thing for deliverance and prophecy and then they were just like yeah if you want to get healing
come over here we're gonna pray for you you deal with depression anxiety loneliness whatever it is
like come over here and we'll pray for you to be delivered and if you just want to hear God and
you don't know if he's real whatever it is you would want to hear the voice of God or hear God
speak to you come in this line and we're going to pray for that and that inspired me so much like
and the Lord really put it on my heart to do that on different campuses and just try to recreate that
so that people can see the power of God and
you know
when I when I have like an encounter with the Lord it's undeniable like he's real you know
yeah at least in my mind like so I want other people to have that because I had an encounter
with the Lord and that's how I just really just was all in for Jesus so I want people to experience
the power of God like I did and and just be all in for Jesus yeah yeah hey quick break let me tell
you about today's sponsor Liberty University and I want to be completely upfront about something
this is not just a sponsorship for me I actually just graduated from Liberty University and I'm
here's what I want to say to anyone who's on the fence about going back to school or starting for
the first time there was a season where I genuinely did not think I could make it work I literally
dropped out of college without my parents knowing because I thought going to college was going to be
this crazy thing between running a podcast creating content and everything else that comes with
building something for Jesus school felt like the thing that would have to wait Liberty actually
changed that for me the flexibility of their life changed that for me the flexibility of their life
made it possible to pursue a degree without putting my life on hold and the thing that
actually kept drawing me back was that this school actually takes faith seriously it's not just a
university that happens to have Christians in it the whole thing is built on a biblical worldview
and that matters when you're spending years of your life there education is one of the best
investments you can make in yourself and if you have been waiting for the right time I want to
encourage you this might be it go to liberty.edu slash Bryce to learn more and when you use that
Liberty will waive your registration fee again that is liberty.edu slash Bryce all right back to the
video dude I think it's so cool I know we were talking about it earlier that like God has placed
college campuses on your heart we're doing some campus stuff in the fall a little bit different
than yours more like dialogue evangelism yeah uh style you have to unite that's doing stuff all
over campuses all the already the all the amazing college campus ministries that are
just crushing and reaching it and I just want to say thank you so much for being here and I
just think it's so cool I think it's so cool that students people go to college for four years and
what career path they choose the people they surround themselves with whether they're in a
fraternity in a sorority what they do on Friday and Saturday night what they do during the week
shapes them for the next 60 and 70 80 years of their life yeah 50 whatever it may be and
God trusts certain people or places it on people's hearts to try and be a disruptor
and what people think is right for them
to kind of shift them to go another direction you know like like I think sometimes people view
um like no one preached the gospel to me and even looking back like growing up I I don't
remember someone preaching the gospel to me because I grew up in a private Christian school
and I grew up in church so it was almost like oh well you know it because you grew up yeah but then
I'm like always wonder and obviously hypothetical as well we'll never know
like what would happen if someone actually preached the gospel to me or challenged the
way I view life or yeah like challenge my morality like what would happen so it's kind of cool that
you want to be that disruptor especially like with something like healing and and prophecy and stuff
like that it can kind of soften people's heart to the reality that God is real yeah when God
supernaturally intervenes in people's lives I think it's super cool the perfect lunch combo
that first bite of your favorite sub followed by
ice-cold pepsi add a couple of friends and now that's next level suddenly the laughs get louder
the stories keep flowing and the food tastes better because pepsi brings out more flavor
more fun and more of the moment food deserves pepsi grab a pepsi zero sugar today
you want to impress them on a first date but also play it cool so what do you do I'm roofie thorpe
and I wrote and read a real love story about a hinge couple that navigated
into my life and I feel like the people that want it are going to come up you know get their prayer
get prayed for for their whatever they want to receive and then the people that are staying back
are going to see it and then like it'll soften their heart and then they'll come up you know
so I feel like it's going to be like a a trickle effect to soften other people's heart or maybe
that the next time they go to some sort of like church event or something like that then they'll
jump in or you know it's going to be like a trickle effect to soften other people's heart
it'll just have like this effect when they see other people receive from God and see the power of
God so I think even if people aren't ready in that time like seeing other people be ready it'll just
like help them you know take that next step for sure yeah I'm just super excited about it do you
know what colleges you're going to yeah I mean the first one I'm just going to do at ECU in my
hometown so the pirates yeah let's go yeah we'll do it at ECU and uh we'll figure it out like
really get it efficient and flushed out you know there's going to be some mistakes on the first one
for sure and and then hopefully we'll just get it down to like really flushed out and we'll just
pick it up and place it on different campuses you know yeah across the country if that's what God
wants to do with it yeah which I believe he wants to so it's amazing what do you think college kids
are searching for right now I think a lot of people even well college kids are searching for
hope yeah and purpose and satisfaction and all those are like hand in hand I feel like
but everyone especially in the work that I'm in like YouTube
the DMs that I get are like people are searching for hope like they need they need something to
give them hope like if I have this if you can give me this I'll be okay like I'm hoping that
you can give me a million dollars like people ask me so much for money and it's like I don't have
money to give you so but they're what they're really searching for is hope you know yeah like
they're hopeful like if if they reach out to me for money that that's gonna save their life that's
gonna set them up for life or you know satisfy whatever they're searching for yeah so I think
in general just the campuses the students are searching for hope satisfaction because they
I mean you see it in the fraternities like they find their satisfaction in their like brotherhood
and like yeah they have each other's backs but then when you go out of there like what what now
yeah you know but Jesus gives you that everlasting hope you know yeah in in any circumstance like
like we were saying earlier um we have it all with Jesus and I say this like I've said this
to the Lord like many times like I'd rather be home alone than to be home alone than to be home alone
listen and know you then have everything in this world and not know you yeah you know rather be
under a bridge with my family living on the street but know Jesus then have everything in this world
and not know you yeah so I that's how much hope like we have in Christ yeah I want people to have
that so where are you at with God right now compared to a year ago man
well number one you had hair yeah okay yeah when I had a kid I shaved my head because it was so
much stress like just taking care of my hair yeah I had long hair and I'm like I used to part it to
the side put a little gel in it yeah and I was like I can't do this bro but you have great you
have a great head shape for shaved head oh thank you you know what I'm saying like if I if I shaved
my head like I would look like an egg dude actually if I went bald bro I would look like an egg
bro I have like this dip like it's like a in my in the middle of my head bro yeah bro all I'm
telling the video games I got the headphone dent well my next question was gonna be like are you
would you ever consider going like uh like a skin fade like bald only Mr. Clean no bro my head is
like I got corners corners I got sharp I got a sharp head it's the hair that's covering it it
makes it look round well bro it looks perfectly round but
I really want to see this headphone dent that you claim to have and bro just come touch it
I can do your do your head start back here and then just run your fingers through the middle
hey whoa bro you did have a dent I'm not gonna lie he has a dent he has a dent uh yeah I'll
never be bald you're it's always gonna be something you weren't lying or I'll wear a hat
dude oh snap yeah I I mean like I don't have a dent in my head but I don't have a dent in my head
but like my head would look long
yeah like uh it would like have you ever it would be like long like this like uh indiana jones not
like the kingdom of the crystal skull you've seen that movie it's got like the big whoa yeah no i
my head would be like uh who's that you ever seen that like a monster i think it's from the goonies
yeah it's like a really tall head but mine would be like backwards yeah you know which is
unfortunate you'd be like one of those like speed walkers you know the helmets um oh yeah oh i need
one of those yeah the speed walker that curves all the way down yeah i think i think like i i i'm
like i wish i had a head that i could shave my head like i don't have a bad hairline i don't
feel like like i feel like my hairline's not bad right yeah i think it's normal why are you laughing
chris can i what do you think is so funny about my hairline i i took i took my hat off because i
and i feel like
you're not a good guy
you're not a good guy
you're not a good guy
someone's gonna photoshop that make me look like i have like a nine head
so other than god taking away your hair yeah what else that was really my decision but
now the love has been growing me in so many ways man it's like
learning how to listen that's one thing the lord's growing me in for sure like i
i did this thing where i was like lord i'm just gonna listen to you for 40 days straight like i
do these things these challenges for myself like that i don't tell anybody about
you know it's just between me and the lord but i did this thing where i was like 40 days in a row
i'm gonna sit with you and not do anything and just listen for as long as it takes until i hear
you dude i just think it's so funny because you're like doing your own mr beast challenge
but like but the reward is not financial it's just like you're the reward jesus but like i'll
do a 40 day i'll listen to you yeah dude yeah that's funny it's ingrained in me it's really
funny yeah
that's funny that's awesome about that yeah i i like that i think so like for me i'm really
curious to know this because now you've got like a family and you have a child like for me
my routine right now like i have like a routine that's like if i can do this thing and get this
stuff done to start my day i will be the best version of myself for jesus for my wife for you
know my friends and things like that and now like obviously that's maybe your routine looks different
what does your faith look like day to day with having a family yeah i mean
with or without a family i need jesus every day like with a family it's like the timing of when
i spend my time with jesus like you know just me and him like you know in my room or whatever
it's it can vary so like if i'm waking up super early because my child's up
then i'll spend time with jesus when my kid goes down for a nap that's like my time that i have
so it just depends like sometimes you gotta switch it up but i like to do it during my kid's nap time
yeah like it's when i spend time with the lord but i i won't do anything else like outside of
taking care of my family um i need to spend time with jesus or i'm not gonna like yeah it's
a non-negotiable like thing for me or i'm more impatient if i when i don't i'm less compassionate
same i don't care about people yeah you know it's like i have less like a heart for people like
yeah i'm not looking at them how the lord wants me to look at them like all all the things yeah
you know it's just like i need to be filled with the love of jesus every single day so i can be a
you know to to whoever i run into and and a good father you know and it's yeah it's just a
non-negotiable like i have to pray and i have to read you know yeah i put god first in that like
for sure yeah absolutely yeah i mean you can obviously just being around you it's always a
encouragement just being around you and the joy that you carry and things like that i mean it's
jesus you love him and you know it overflows in the way you interact with people you know i really
appreciate that about you thank you yeah yeah absolutely i think yeah i think that's so cool
because a lot of times on i remember we did a thing at auburn university earlier this year
and someone asked me like how do you fit god in your in a busy schedule like as a college student
yeah and uh i was in a
like a lot of times we like ask how to like we wonder how to fit god in a busy schedule
but then we'll spend like five hours a day with our boyfriend or girlfriend yeah it's kind it's
exactly what you were saying earlier it's like well you make time for the things you care about
yeah you know not even just like oh this time is me and you jesus but on my drive to school maybe i
listen to worship music or i listen to the podcast or the sermon and you know in between classes or
or you know i pray and yeah things like that or or if someone texts me and asks me to pray for them
instead of saying yeah i'll pray for you you send them a voice memo of you praying right then because
you're just trying to walk that faith out you know and like take the step forward and things like that
and i always think i i just think like when we ask questions and think like even as i'm like talking
to you is we're putting this like mental gymnastics on god like god's trying to go like we have to go
through all these hula hoops to get to god and god's like no like just talk to me yeah invite
me into it like i asked you what you what what you should
wear today maybe i'll use that to start a conversation with that person about jesus or
yeah ask me where to go for breakfast because there's someone at chick-fil-a that needs hope
instead of mcdonald's you know like that kind of thing which is uh yeah i don't know i just
think that's really cool yeah you don't yeah it's people make it too mystical like
jesus isn't everything you do when you're living for christ you know yeah and like you were saying
the schedule like how do you fit god into your busy schedule it's the opposite like how do i
fit my schedule around my time with god you know i i craft my schedule based on when i can spend my
time with god like you know yeah like he's the first thing that goes on the schedule all right
all right i block this time off now i can start putting my other things in my day around that
yeah you know that way it's like it's not like okay i have my schedule where can i fit god in
no i have my time with god blocked off now let's fit my schedule in yeah that's good
so where do you see your like life heading or going like what do you think is next for you
you know hopefully it's still doing youtube you know i love doing it i get to do things i never
would have been able to do you know get to reach people see people meet people that i would have
never met but also doing like ministry like the outreach is like i see myself going to college
campuses across the country and doing these events and hopefully you know outside of the country
you know and i think that's like the path that god has me on you know hopefully doing both
youtube and that you know i think that'll be cool for me to be still doing youtube and just having
that like presence on the one of the biggest biggest channel in the world while also just
doing outreach is like in in time that i have you know our schedule during that you know yeah
so i think doing that you know that's my future for what the lord's put on my heart recently
and i'm excited about it like i really believe that god's gonna move
just in the coming like in the next five years really like there's gonna be like
like this big like it's almost like a rocket ship taking off like i guess rockets take off
kind of slow don't they well they start slow maybe they're starting slow right now like maybe that's
the tension right now there's a build-up and then yeah it's just gonna take off like yeah there's
gonna be like impact but obviously like everything that happens behind the scenes it's it's a long
time and then people think it just happens like overnight that's what overnight success
yeah they were doing stuff for 10 years before that happened you know yeah dude i heard an
analogy the other day where someone was uh actually told it uh to chris was about how
builder on a house you know they build the foundation and they start building the walls
and stuff like that and you see like outward change yeah you know a lot's going on you're
like oh yeah like they're they're doing momentum they're doing momentum and then when they get to
the electrical nothing changes on the outside yeah but stuff is changing on the inside yeah
and i feel like that's what's maybe happening right now so oh wait we don't see christianity
on this crazy skyrocket incline so what's going on but maybe god's really working behind the scenes on
something crazy like he always is i mean that's literally habakkuk like habakkuk is complaining to
god in chapter one and then the first thing god says he sees like if you knew what i was up to
right now you wouldn't be saying that yeah and like it's probably true what about like
10 years from now where would you like your life to be 10 years from now you know a big family
what's a big family uh like an octomom big family okay can't do that many when i think of when i
talk to mom how many kids do you want to have do i want to have yeah i don't necessarily
have a number so like every now and then i'm like i want to build a dynasty like i'm saying not just
like 19 like i'm talking a dynasty you know what i'm saying i want to have an army behind me yeah
real champion bloodline people ready to go to war you know but then also at the same time i'm like
i don't know if i could really handle all that you know so like i probably should should uh
yeah i don't really have an exact number you know yeah i mean i probably want to have like
max four okay i think i can handle four maximum that's great i think four is a solid number three
would be ideal okay yeah yeah i think that's great yeah i don't know i like
the perfect lunch combo that first bite of your favorite sub followed by ice cold pepsi
add a couple of friends and now that's next level suddenly the laughs get louder
you
the stories keep flowing and the food tastes better because pepsi brings out more flavor
more fun and more of the moment food deserves pepsi grab a pepsi zero sugar today

what for well hey if maddie's willing to have multiple you know because she's the one carrying
her child for nine months yeah ish but yeah i don't know every now and then i'm like do i want
to build a dynasty and take over the world do you know yeah i mean that's your whole life though if
you have that many kids yeah because then at one point like one of your kids is going to be helping
you raise the other kid like they could literally
you know like you're building a dynasty like that yeah yeah i think that's interesting but
you have my family when i have a big family how many siblings do you have i have three
older brothers okay an older sister and a younger sister there's six of us yeah bro that's getting
that's getting up there to like i i think a dynasty starts at like eight yeah like if you
had eight kids like you're really building a family lineage like the chances of one of them
one of those kids being a pro athlete or one of those being a um a president or one of those being
like uh dude i don't know imagine just having that and imagine the family portrait oh yeah
it's a lot that would be great but i'm not talking like a picture on a beach like where everyone's in
on land and i'm talking like a painting like someone paints you you know where like you have
like the the husband and wife like in a chair and then there's like uh the kids are all and then and
like looking directly out and then you have like the children like one of them's like posed with
his like hand on his chin like this and the other one's like got his hand on the shorter kid that's
standing in front of him you know what i mean it's like you're looking at 23 and me dna tests
like on a picture yeah you know what i'm saying like i think that'd be awesome i'll come back in
three years when you have seven kids yeah bro i don't know if that's like i don't know if that's
even like oh it's possible octomon
yeah but like in three years is that like so if you have triplets if you have triplets and two sets
of twins you can make it happen okay whenever i come back i'll be here a third time yep and we'll
have all all your kids yes and and then you'll have a bald head yeah and we'll be able to check
out your headphone dent my my every every kid i have i'm just gonna get lower i like that buzz
it even lower well you don't have you don't have like uh i will say i think you should try it out
because my wife would not like it would grow back so fast like i know i know your hair grows fast
because you had thick hair before my hair does grow super fast yeah so it would like
it wouldn't be anything crazy especially having a having a buzz cut you know what i mean like how
long is it gonna take to grow that out you know what i mean scared bro what if my wife's like i'm
leaving but what bro but what if you shaved it bald then you realize your hair is never gonna
grow back uh hats you know just hat man i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
that's me rest of my life i'd glue a hat in my head i'd sleep in it that's great okay i'm never
taking it off i don't want to be bald guys well the viewers out there i don't ever want to be
bald wait wait let's do this right now i'm scared no what are the odds one out of a thousand one out
of a thousand and if we get the same you gotta shave your head bald wait wait wait hold on let
me think wait uh let's do it for both of us wait what if we say
the same number then we both have to do it we don't have enough time on the podcast to find out
if it'll happen to me but we have enough time to talk about you because you're the guest visiting
so if we can do one out of a thousand if we guess the same number we gotta shave your head
bald skin fade i'm actually so scared right now i've changed the number in my head four times
i've already thought about eight different numbers on this
are you ready i'm ready one two three thirteen twenty two okay okay thank you
yeah all right well that's okay i don't know i felt like you were gonna go low but you did
kind of go low you went 200 what was the first number you thought like 900 something okay then
600 then 400 yeah you shouldn't have been sweating now my friends the other night did a one out of
100 and they both said the same number that's pretty crazy would you pray for everyone watching
and listening right now yeah yeah lord i just thank you for this time that we got to spend
together but i thank you for the viewers watching this lord
god i pray that the people that are in the situation that i once was lord that you would
holy spirit just prompt them to to want to seek you and to know you you're not some far off god
that's just in the sky lord you are nearer than a brother closer than a brother lord
and god i just pray that they would seek you and find you lord
i'm gonna pray that they would seek you and find you lord
i know you'll show up god lord i pray that they would be humble enough to
just put themselves before you and understand that they need you god like i needed you that day
lord i pray that they would realize they need you before they hit that rock bottom in their
life before i like i did you know i i was at such a low point lord and that i was forced
to cry out to you god i pray that people would see me and realize hey it's i don't
want to get where chandler was i can do it now you know before it gets like that so lord i just pray
that you would just lead them to that god what i see would just show up mightily for those people
that want you and fill them with your love and your presence lord yeah i just have to bless him
