Every time I go to UCLA or any college, I try to get myself a sort of weird shirt. So this is my UCLA Bruins rowing shirt. Only one time has anybody ever asked me if I rowed, which I feel like, oh, man, that person is really. That's a post-racial person right there. A person that was like, you know, maybe you could have been on rowing, but nobody else ever seems to ask me about that at all. So how is rowing the topic? Yeah. Wait, what? Like, why did you go with rowing? Oh, I just I just like I like to get a weird shirt, man. I had a Stanford fencing shirt a few years ago. You know, I like, you know, cross country volleyball. I just track. Yeah, track. Oh, that's a little bit more mainstream. But yeah, I try to I try to get one of those like, you know, sports that don't make any money and wear it around. And, you know, not that I want people to talk to me, but it's just something I do. So. We left the college. You went back on to the college and went into their bookstore. Yeah. You know what? You all left. That's right. You all drove off because we had had dinner plans. And of course, that didn't come to fruition. And so everybody left. And I was like, I have a few extra minutes. I said that I was going to get myself a shirt and I got my son and daughter a shirt. I got my wife some shorts and some other and some other things. And so, yeah, I always thought if I'm on a college campus, man, I'm always trying to stop by the bookstore. Man, are you trying to make it weird? Are you trying to say, oh, yeah, hold on. I'm not in any way making it weird. Okay. What I'm saying, okay, if I'm allowed to talk, what I'm saying is that we could have done this together. Yeah, we could have all done. We could have all done this. We could have done this together. You could have said, hey, before I leave, I always have this tradition of, you know, walking through the college, seeing the sites and going to the bookstore. But you chose to do it by yourself. That's all I'm saying. Well, you know, I was standing there by myself in the parking lot because actually when we walked away from each other, I realized I wasn't actually close to my car. So I was walking to my car and I was like, shit, I could go back to the library. As I've already paid for parking, like it was, you know, $17. I was like, so I don't have to keep paying for parking. I was like, let me go on and go on back in there. Maybe I should, if I called y'all back, would y'all have come? I mean, look, if you said, hey, I want to go to the bookstore, I probably would have gone to the bookstore. Like we had nothing else. But you wanted to go by yourself. I didn't want to go by myself. I wanted y'all to come. You wanted to go by yourself. We talked for a long time in the parking lot. You had ample opportunity to bring it up. We did, but I forgot about it until I was paying for parking. We were throwing the football with each other. That's right. I showed you the Joel award. You know, this was clearly something that you wanted to do. Do you all know? Do you know what happened? That day I'm standing in the parking lot disappointed. I'm like, oh, man, I thought we were all going to get dinner. And, you know, so I'm standing there and I'm like, well, I guess I got a lot of free time now. I got free. So y'all left. And I was like, oh, shit, I can't go back to the. Surely you all understand. I was prepared to go to dinner with y'all. I was excited. I was like, oh, you talked about going to someplace near campus and y'all drove off. And then it hit me that I could go back to the bookstore. And I did. And I went into the student center area. So to get myself something to drink. I didn't have any. I didn't have any. Of course you did. Of course you did. You went to the bookstore and then you went to the student center. And speaking of UCLA practice, let's talk about practice facility footage that was leaked this week. There was a lot of. Joel went viral, in case you missed it. If you're not on Twitter, you're not on X, not on any of these other platforms. The videos of Joel Anderson going head to head with myself, with Billy Gill. Van was playing all-time QB for us. There's been a lot of controversy, a lot of conversation. If you go to our YouTube, you can watch some of this stuff. We kind of basically did a vlog while we were at UCLA. Dominique Foxworth's show decided to give their takes on what happened with Joel Anderson. Van shared the video. I made Joel touch earth. And then there was a lot of reactions. Before we came on, Tate said, I'm going to defend you, Joel. I'm going to. As soon as the lights came on, you know what I'm saying, Tate switched up on me. That's fine. I'm here to defend Joel. Look, I brought my Joel water bottle today. So I'm going to take a sip because I got to support Joel. There was too much, too much hate that was coming at Joel's direction. It was. Joel said it was offensive pass. interference i think that was a little bit too far but again uh hips got turned things went sideways joel do you have a message to the haters because there were a lot of people that were coming at your neck and van and i actually talked independently we thought this was wrong so we wanted to defend you a little bit also wanted to give you your space to react you talked independently really yeah we talked independently we were like we got to defend joel's honor because joel okay we know you're a talent you know you guys talked about it on text bros or something okay all right text bros did a facetime together and we we said we had your okay all right well look here here's what i gotta say i think one thing that i don't get enough credit for in this It makes it more difficult. so it's just like I'm late and trying to all the games are happening during bath and bedtime in this house so I would say now's the time to tap in conference finals two great matchups Cavs I watched I watched both those games I've watched you said fantastic basketball fantastic basketball so yeah I mean it's fun yeah it's a good matchup first time both games with the OT in the conference finals in NBA history so a lot of good stuff there uh let's get back to college football story of the week this story just won't go away the 2014 college football playoff if you are out here in Los Angeles you got the Big Ten having their big meeting at Terranea down in Palos Verdes right now and they are pushing for a 2014 college football playoff Bill Connolly wrote a piece on this for ESPN and the synopsis of the whole piece was this bigger isn't always better but these conference uh commissioners really especially the SEC and the Big Ten and the Big 12 and I guess the ACC by proxy seem to want a 2014 college football playoff Joe I'll go to you first when you see this do you feel like it's inevitable or do you think this is uh just them trying to control the narrative I think it's inevitable uh and it's mostly being set up for whatever new version of college football is here right like you know whenever they they they eliminate the Wake Forest or whatever and they're like you know y'all can't play with us no more um but that's at the Demon Deacons yeah man well look I mean we know what it is that's one of the smallest schools in FBS man you know and at a certain point they won the ACC they had some good players yeah I mean look man my homeboy one of my best homeboy two of my best homeboys went to Wake Forest man and uh I like that campus have fun there but I just you know that's gonna be one of the school TCU there's no guarantee that we make it into the next round of realignment like it we're on the bubble um and I think that part makes it inevitable but anyway I have a reason why it won't work and a reason why it's actually bad okay I'll start with the reason it's bad because the more games the players play the more likely it is that injuries will impact the results okay Oregon was down like it lost its running back uh Jordan Davison against Texas Tech Ole Miss Kiwan Lacey he hurt his shoulder in one game and wasn't 100 for the game against Miami and then in the Miami game because I'm assuming he had limited practice time he tweaked his right hamstring so if Ole Miss had won that game and had to play against Indiana I mean he would have been beat up and Notre Dame was beat up as hell going into the 2024 final uh Jeremiah Love was hurting that game in Georgia Carson Beck he wasn't even around for that playoff run they had to play with Gunnar Stockton so I understand injuries are part of the game but the more games that these teams play against better team better teams that can hit back the more likely injuries are going to play an outsized role and who's left standing at the end I just don't think we need we expose these really good teams to the 23rd ranked team and the second thing about why this won't work is you can't fool the fans man Alabama made the playoffs their fans seem happy do you think Oklahoma's fans are fooled by making the playoffs last year of course not they know that they're not really national championship contenders right now and so they can try to have all these extra games or whatever and oh man you're a playoff contender but people know better people know better now fans understand that if just because Iowa or USC gets into there if they got in there last year I don't think their fans would be like well they lost in the first round of the playoffs this was a pretty good game for them I don't think they would be like well they lost in the first round of the playoffs this was a pretty good game for them season the the their fans are savvier than that and coaches and programs are still going to face the same sort of pressure you can't game the system I think those are two fantastic points I agree with both of them obviously we know this is going to happen and one of the reasons why it's going to happen is because obviously there's huge money in it um huge money being the thing that matters more than anything else but also because the players are now looked at as professionals and you've seen other leagues like the NFL despite the rejections rebuttals concerns of their workforce go hey we're going to add another game because that makes us more money in this type of situation where the players are getting paid now it looks like for everyone that whatever would happen to them from an injury standpoint or a scholastic standpoint matters less than the NIL that they're getting so in this situation the owners who I guess are school presidents right they are going to add as many football games to entice as much TV participation increased revenue as they possibly can and they're not really going to consider the lives of their workforce and the health of their workforce because they look at their workforce now as professional athletes hundred percent and also we saw this in college basketball they kept floating hey we're going to expand the tournament everyone's like please God don't do it please don't do it please don't do it and then all of a sudden they announced hey it's done we've expanded the tournament we got to 76 teams and then when they asked why they did it they said the conference commissioners really wanted them to because the Big 12 the Big Ten the SEC the ACC the power four that is they're saying to themselves we need more teams to make the tournament so that we can make everybody happy in these bloated conferences and it's the exact same thing with the 2014 playoff they can float this as much as they want people can push back as much as they want but as you said Van it's gonna happen like they're gonna make it happen because they want to make all those members schools happy and think they have an outside shot to make the playoff and if they make the playoff everybody's happy apparently at least that's what they're saying yeah I just I mean we just have come so far man I mean we used to just pick two teams for the national championship game which I didn't I've never liked I thought that didn't make a lot of sense I don't like the idea of picking your champions I want to see two teams see teams win it on the field even though this is still an Invitational at the end of the day like there's sometimes there's teams to get automatic qualifiers but we're picking the teams but you have a I thought the goal of this was to make it more fair and pick a team make sure that we don't leave out teams at the end of the year that maybe have a real shot at making the national championship game and again I maybe that's naive I always know money is at play here but I just it doesn't even 24 that's a fifth of college football man well maybe a little less than maybe six I'm doing bad math five you know but anyway it's just it sounds better it sounds better yeah I think that'll be 120 teams that's a lot of things bro yeah do you do y'all really want to see like Iowa in the in the playoff game like here's the problem um I don't want to see it but I'll watch it that's right yeah that is the problem that's true that is the problem with everything the problem with everything now is I don't want to see it but I'll watch it right like I don't want to see Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight again both of them 45 plus on Netflix this fall I wouldn't have asked to see that I don't want to see that but I'll watch it yeah they know that you'll watch it there's a lot of things out there they know that you'll watch it so they'll put it on and as far as the teams there's probably a competitive argument here that you're going to get situations I'll throw this to Tate I asked Tate about this like you get in in the NCAA tournament which the the best parts of the NCAA tournament for me are the first couple of days that's right the tournament as it goes on it becomes more about you know the blue bloods of the sport and this against that and who's going to be able to make adjustments but those first couple of games are this weird and awkward sports experiment where you have four 23 year old guys that have been playing at Weber State since they were freshmen against a bunch of one and dones from somewhere who can get hot who can win how players respond when they are blitzed by some five foot now white dude who just decided today that he's not gonna miss right right so and that's that's the drama in the tournament and it kind of sets the palette for the entire tournament is that possible in football the answer is probably not lucky you know what I mean probably not but who knows who knows Tate do you think that it's possible in football I don't think it's possible in football I think it's an unfair fight and you just look at the trenches and you can see why it's an unfair fight especially now the transfer portal with everybody kind of moving up even in college basketball it's the same thing like those four guys or five guys who would be at Weber State like you said now that they're now all five of them are different schools one's at Oklahoma State one's at Texas Tech one's at Vanderbilt one's a villain you know what I mean so like that team that would have stayed together is now all broken up and then for the college basketball tournament the interesting part now is Thursday was so important and so fun and it's like okay here we go the tournament starts we had the first four but now we really go now we have 24 teams involved on Tuesday and Wednesday so the time by the time we get to Thursday you've already watched a lot of basketball so we don't even know if the majesty the pageantry whatever you want to call it is going to be there on that Thursday like it has in the past and that's the real test for them and again the more that you kind of draw it out and make it bigger than bloated the concern is there that you lose some of that magic and also to Joel's original point a war of attrition is not what we want we want to see the best team win and if and if it's just a war of attrition to see who can survive then there's a lot of luck that's involved and I don't think we feel like we get the actual champion which is really tough yeah I mean that's I mean look oh go ahead go ahead that's my big thing the entry thing you know yeah yeah I agree with that I mean look that kind of exists in most areas of football like even in pro football you get to a point it's like who's going to be healthy who's going to go next for me all that stuff right yeah in college football There's so many things in college football used to be different between what was going on in NCAA, what was going on in the pros. And it's kind of what made the sport special, right? And there's something else about this. Now that we're talking about this age of transfer portal and NIL, a lot of these teams don't have the same type of depth that they used to have. Some of them do. You could probably go up and down the list of players that have Buckeyes on their helmets right now and get to the third guy and still get yourself a nice established four-star for as long as he'll stay there at Ohio State. But most of the time, the depth that existed for teams in 2014, 2015 is just not there anymore. So if you start to really get a school that's ravaged by injuries, a program that's ravaged by injuries, you are not going to be able to go from Derrick Henry to T.J. Yeldon or whatever the fuck was going on. In Alabama, that's fucking nuts. You're not going to be able to go do that nowadays. There's going to be a drop-off, and that's going to affect the competition of the games. You ain't going to have a Cardell Jones on nobody's bench anymore. Remember that? Remember that? Remember Cardell Jones? Yeah, man. He comes from out of nowhere and is dominant in that game. Really good. That was great. He had a great stretch. And I know that that's not always possible in football. Indiana played and won a national championship without their best defensive lineman last year. Steven Daly got injured, I think, in the Big Ten championship game or something like that. And they managed to replace him and win. But, like, that's, again. Indiana was a rare team. And if that happens to teams further down the line, they're not going to be able to overcome it. So, I just don't want to see more playoff games. I mean, look how mad y'all got at James Madison. People were so pissed that James Madison got invited to the dance. And so, I was like, why are we pretending that we really want to see more teams than we really do? And James Madison showed up. Let's get the top five headlines of the week, and let's start with number one. This happened last week. It was a big story, a lot of memes. And of course, it's about LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, Lane Kiffin. And explaining his decision to leave Ole Miss for LSU said that he was trying to distance himself from symbols like the Confederate flag, Colonel Rebel, and the nickname Ole Miss itself when he was coaching there. Kiffin says top recruits would tell him, quote, Hey, coach, we really like you, but my grandparents aren't. Letting me move to Oxford, Mississippi, in quote, that doesn't come up when you go to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is what he said. Parents were sitting here this weekend and saying the campus's diversity feels so great. It feels like there's no segregation, in quote. So this is Lane Kiffin explaining his decision. And now he is basically trying to pull a Nick Saban down there at LSU in Joel's terms. Van, when you saw this story, did you like it? Did you buy it? And what were your thoughts on Kiffin? I knew this. I knew this was about to stir up some shit. So did Lane Kiffin. And I'm like, you know, I personally would have rather Lane Kiffin not, like, jump into this entire hornet's nest. You guys, I am a Louisiana man through and through. I love Louisiana. I love the state. I love the people. I love everything about my home state. I don't think that. I don't think that it makes a lot of sense to compare the history of racism between Louisiana and Mississippi. Now, I will say this. Mississippi's special now. I will say this. Mississippi's special. Mississippi is special. And there is no comparison between Baton Rouge and Oxford, because Baton Rouge is a black city, and Oxford is not, okay? But if we're going to do a deep historical analysis of racist history. Between Mississippi and Louisiana, or even between Ole Miss and LSU. you there's just not gonna be enough daylight to really stand up and like look down your nose at another school and that's just the way that it is i yeah man i agree and when i saw this uh i was kind of surprised because you know lane kiffin if you were there and you had a problem with the confederate iconography few people were better positioned he had the opportunity you had old by the balls for a number for a number of years like nobody nobody could have done more to improve the condition and the culture around that campus than you like that was right in your hands and evidently it didn't come up that them black people them black people came up and said man my grandparents i let me move to oxford and you're like man all right i understand like yes he was just like okay i get it i get it but he was right about that though we had talked about like that's the reason that we brought that up in the fall yeah we brought that up in the fall that the footprint from the sec footprint if you just go along texas you know texas to florida like the itn corridor old miss his old missus and in mississippi state they're the only schools that have not won national championships and the reason is because it's been hard to convince athletes to go play there if you're not already from there there was a cat from my hometown and sue c say he was the best uh basketball player on texas as a legendary state champion amazing basketball player you remember answer you know and sue c said i do yeah yeah a great basketball player yeah yeah he's from my hood he's from he went to willow rich high school which is also where tj ford went to high school and they won a state championship and then he signed with old miss and everybody was like what the like what are you doing bro like why are you going to old miss that's crazy and that's just kind of the perception that old miss had to deal with uh but yeah i mean the one thing i would say about lsu and van you probably uh well you certainly are much more qualified to speak on it the way black people felt about lsu has evolved a lot since uh martin luther saban has showed up but there were people like i would say wouldn't you say the black people when they talked about baton rouge they're thinking of the southern baton rouge and not necessarily the lsu baton rouge is that fair to say i think i think that in the early 90s uh in the early 90s essentially coming up because remember i had a mother that went to lsu and a father that went to southern that's right so so so for me i think it's always been kind of divided lsu to to your point for a lot of people in baton rouge has always kind of been a hallmark of sort of resource hoarding uh things that were nice things that were geared towards white people and white people who were not white people who were not white people who were not white students and when you go to the north side of town where southern is it doesn't seem as if they give a fuck about how things are going up on the bluff about how fuck the football about how to the structures and whether or not there's air conditioning all kinds of stuff like that how that goes up on the bluff so if you are the southern knight and if southern has your heart then there probably is some resentment towards lsu but when lsu would win the entire town all of baton rouge would at least from what i know from what i understood growing up it was a source of pride because it was really the only thing in baton rouge at that particular time that had any type of national identity so it would be very difficult to not be proud of lsu or care about the way lsu represented for louisiana if you were specifically from baton rouge because that at that point was what people knew baton rouge for more than anything what no booze for baton rouge for baton rouge for yet what no kevin gates yet baton rouge is kind of like a little renaissance now um like like all of that stuff none of that stuff was kind of around right like no young boy baton rouge didn't really have a national identity in any way but lsu was like we're at tiger stadium in baton rouge these players that come from it that was kind of a thing so there was always to me at least from black people that i knew a sense of pride but the connection culturally to the university didn't really start until we started getting the players back to go there that represented these different spots in louisiana and in the 90s that had stopped in the 80s it was a little bit more prevalent but in the 90s that had definitely stopped those guys were at florida state those guys were at texas those guys were at florida those guys were at colorado if you're talking about cordell stewart and all of that stuff those guys were leaving louisiana and is i'm going to get this wrong is war done from baton rouge is that right he is catholic high catholic high yeah like so i remember thinking man how did that ed reed uh well is ed reed from he's from new orleans neil smith is like like like neil smith like cordell stewart travis minor major applewhite marshall falk who actually didn't get recruited the way that he should have been that really kind of starts with like a big time prep like a big national prep um from from that area staying home it actually starts with kevin falk it actually starts with kevin falk deciding that he was not gonna he's from karen crowe that he was going to come to to lsu uh but then up to your point the guy who really put the fence around baton rouge and louisiana for a little while at least was nick saban and and and that definitely changed things because then you had a national brand that you didn't have to kind of pull people to be proud of i do have to ask like what do you think lane kiffin thought this would do you think this he thought that like this would be that's a great question you know like this would be like a big pr win for him to be like actually i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know lane left because he didn't like you know the the iconography of old miss and that's yeah he's such a good guy for doing that like it just seems very strange to me that he waited this many months to then make this spin on the story when we kind of all know why he went to lsu um it just seems strange i just don't know what the end game was there i don't know what kiffin thinks about i don't clearly i don't think he runs everything by an assistant or a pickup i mean he tweeted out that cap the rumor that make baton rouge it again taps then he had to take it down like he's clearly not so is this do you think like a reaction to that like he got such bad feedback on that thing that then he's like i gotta make sure people know where i stand i think what happened is that he is very conscious of the fact that a lot of people think he's a turncoat man that he abandoned his team in the middle of a playoff run at this school they gave him a chance they gave him the best year they ever had and in the middle of it he abandoned them and there are a lot of people for a lot of people they will always hold that against him you know like even like kevin durant when people be talking about it instead of where he had to go cheat you know he he went and got his rings on the back of the warriors or whatever it's kind of like that it's like for lane kiffin that may always be part of his coaching epitaph assuming he doesn't go on to wild success at lsu so i think this was a part of trying to explain and clear up his reputation but i just don't think he's good at talking uh uh i don't think he's as good at talking as um you know his reputation would suggest well he's going on pardon my take this week so uh you know belichick just went on pardon my take he's got man why that's a that's a paid interview why hadn't josh pate got him yet what i will say is this though as i don't actually i think what joel is saying is true but i don't actually think it's that at all okay um when i was on the yard at southern's campus i had gone to louisiana tech for a little while then i came came back home to go to school and i'm talking to one of my homeboys and my homeboy goes because my my high school girlfriend was up on the yard right and you know someone would say they was up on the yard going crazy but like my high school wow that was like was up on the yard was this your dog ryan oh no it's not my homeboy ryan if i don't name names then you probably shouldn't name them but okay all right somebody put me on the ryan this week and i was like okay what's up dude okay so my um my my uh high school girlfriend was up there and so i'm coming back i'm like you know i'm talking about boy i'm like yo i've been away because i'm one of my high school my other high school girlfriend we had gone to tech together so i'm leaving louisiana tech coming back to southern and one of my other high school girlfriends is gonna be up there right whatever okay so i'm like yeah i'm gonna see you whatever whatever tap back in and he's like and i remember my homeboy says i mean you gonna see her he was like uh shit you might see her on a bad day and feel good about yourself bad day meaning that he thinks that it would be good for me to see her looking bad right and he was joking it was a funny joke like hey you might see her on a bad day like hey i didn't miss nothing right yeah i think that that mentality is playing into what lane kiffin said i think lane kiffin is simply trying to make his ex have a bad day i don't know that it has very much to do with lane kiffin feeling like people are judging him because he left old miss that certainly could be a part of this calculus but i just think that lane kiffin is the type of petty to where when he leaves a place he actually doesn't want to leave it in a better situation than he found it right he doesn't want to leave a place in a better situation especially if the breakup is contentious what he wants to do and i know a lot of people like this is be like I'm in a better situation with this new girl than I ever was with my ex. I didn't move. She finer. She look better. Here, check out her Instagram. Look at who her friends are. All of this stuff. I think that's what he's trying to do. And I think he's trying to force the public to kind of look at it that way by saying, yeah, I didn't forget what Ole Miss is, right? Yeah, right. So I think that really it's even pettier than that. I'm not saying that what Joel is saying is not a calculus in this because I definitely think that it is. But I think Lane Kiffin is legitimately just bad-mouthing Ole Miss because he wants to make his ass look bad in front of his new group of people. It's a reminder. It's a reminder. And that scares me a little bit. That scares me a little bit, honestly, as an LSU fan. I don't know right now if we could interview Lane Kiffin. I would ask him, as an LSU fan, what is going to make us different? You know, they used to play each other a lot more. Man, I've lived a life where Texas did not play Texas A&M for more than a decade. You know, that's crazy. So if I can lose games like that, I'm just kind of prepared to lose all sorts of games. It is definitely better that they're playing. But like if they didn't, it would only well, I shouldn't say it would only matter to USC and Notre Dame fans. But it's just like that's just, you know, Texas don't really matters to USC fans, at least in my I have a lot of USC people around me in my neighborhood, it really matters to them. Do you think Notre Dame cares? They were very upset about this. I think they care at some level, but Notre Dame thinks they're above everybody, at least in my experience with Notre Dame fans. So, like, USC, I think they care about this rivalry game. So they want it back. The question is, we've lost a lot of them and we're fine. The question is, do we need to lose more? Yeah, that's right. Do we need to lose more? That's the question. I understand college football is going to go. The world is going to spin on. Do we need to lose more games? Why do we have to lose Notre Dame-USC? Any thoughts on Drake or anything else from the college football world? No. I wanted to talk to Joel about this NAACP thing. I saw him talk to – Oh, yeah. Funny about it. I just want to ask Joel real quick. We don't have to get into a whole other segment. Joel, do you think that young Black athletes from the South should boycott schools where the state is engaged in unfair gerrymandering against Black voters? Yes, and I always have. But with the context that we need to politically engage them earlier, create community with them so that they can see how our destinies are tied together. And I think that they should know that they're not going to be the only people that have to sacrifice something. There needs to be a plan. What if a bunch of guys in Georgia – I said that on High Learning. They can't be doing it by themselves. Really? Okay. Man, I thought I was going to – Yeah, all right. So yeah, I agree. Yeah, they need to know that they got people that will back them up, whether that's financially. And also, I just got to be honest, man. Some of these former players who played at those schools and who go out on the sideline and be trotted out for these schools. It wouldn't hurt if they said something and also tried to help those young brothers out. That's the way that you get a movement going. But as it is, just asking them to give up money, as you said, I can understand where it feels unfair and why a kid might not want to do it. So I think you've got to engage them early. I think that's a good call. For the ones that are already good and already in good standing, they're probably the ones that can make more of a difference than telling kids to sacrifice on their own on the front end. I'm just – I'm saying it has to be a part of a larger movement, right? Because if I'm a recruit in Louisiana and I decide I'm not going to go to LSU, I'm not going to go to Texas, I'm not going to go wherever, and then I see all of black America descend on New Orleans for the Essence Fest in New Orleans, and I see – and that's – this is – we're talking about state institutions and holding them accountable is different than economic solidarity against businesses or entities or stuff like that. It still would feel a little weird, particularly probably for the black people. For the parents, not as much for the students, right? So if you're seeing black people continue to flock to Miami or go to Atlanta or go to places like that – well, Georgia's not really doing the gerrymandering and whatever – but if the NABJ goes to Birmingham for its deal, all of that would have to stop. All of that would have to stop. It'd have to be like an economic freeze-out of all of these states, and it would have to be robust. And as part of that, we'd have to really hit these schools where it hurts, because if not, we're going to have to hit these schools where it hurts. Then we're asking 18-, 19-year-old kids to be the tip of the spear, and they just don't have the life experience yet. It's a really tough sell. And then you're also talking about that also in regards of the parents. The parents who – I'm just going to be real with you, just to be cynical. A lot of these parents and families are looking at these kids as once-in-a-generational lottery tickets out of situations and circumstances that they're in, and they want the easiest path to get there as possible. And that path might be going to the school that's closest to them and not going to Michigan or Washington or some other place. I'm not saying that any of this should stop conversation about this, because I think this is a very important component to holding southern states particularly responsible for doing this unconscionable rollback of so much of the progress that's been made over the past decades, the blood, sweat, and tears that my ancestors really gave to make sure that we have proper representation. All of this has to be a part of it, but it has to be a more robust conversation than just, you shouldn't go to Mississippi or whatever. If anyone wanted to do that, I would definitely be in support, even with LSU. If a guy right now from New Iberia goes, we're gerrymandering in Louisiana, I'm not going to LSU, I'm getting a couple of states away, north or south, I'm not going there. You got my support. I have no fucking problem with it. I'm going to LSU. I'm going to LSU. I'm going to LSU. I'm going to LSU. I'm going to LSU. But to put that on them, it's just, I don't know. It's a big burden. It's a big burden. And I remember on your show, you said, this is, to make an impact, it doesn't require 300 athletes to do it. It could take five. Like, I targeted. Five stars. Yeah. Five stars. But that's, part of that is organizing. Like, which are they going to be? And I think that it is possible. And I'm glad that the NAACP and the CBC said something, because I think it just gives us some energy and some life that maybe that conversation has long needed. And again, I don't think that they suggested that that's all that's going to happen, and we're only going to put it on 18-year-olds. But I think that, like, now it's like, all right, how would this? Look, who else is going to join them? How are we going to engage these kids? And I think that's a great conversation to have.
