Caulfield Guineas Day Preview

This podcast transcript features an in-depth preview of Australian horse racing, with the hosts analysing key races at Caulfield and Rose Hill Gardens. The main focus is on the Might and Power Stakes, where She's Alibi is a dominant favourite ahead of Birdman, and the Caulfield Guineas, where Warwoven is the horse to beat despite concerns about the mile trip. The hosts strongly endorse Lindemann in the Hill Stakes at Rose Hill, believing he will bounce back from a disappointing Caulfield effort on his preferred home track. Cosmic Crusader's impressive win is highlighted as a major boost for the Caulfield Cup, with his 104.2 rating and 58kg making him the likely favourite. The episode also covers the Toorak Handicap, where Sabaj is tipped as an outstanding each-way bet with blinkers on first time and 54kg. The hosts discuss the Everest, concluding it is essentially a one-horse race with Ka Ying Rising, though Tempted remains the clear danger. The podcast multi for the week combines Bridal Waltz and Lindemann. Various listener questions are addressed, covering topics from jockey decisions to betting strategies and the value of syndication models like My Race Horse.

Speaker 6on before the, before they actually got to the gates and had the trial, like he was parading around for a good, I don't know, six, seven minutes, but the whole, the whole thing, like there's a lot of people there, like.
Speaker 7I reckon it would be the same on Everest. I reckon there'd be a few people.
Speaker 6No, but I'm saying like he was walking around for a long time on his own and it's not usually like that on a race day. So I don't think the people is an issue for him, but the whole sort of thing. Um, that was his first proper hit out in five weeks and he'll come on along for that. Like they're not here to, they're not here to win that trial and prove a point. They know when they have this horse right, they press the button, it's game over. And I think all you need to take out of it is they've been here, they've done it before and David Hayes arrogantly, respectfully said, give me a good four track. I'm not worried about winning your race. I want to beat your track record. And that's all you need to know because that's what I want. I want it. I want the surface to be as good as possible. I want him to be cranked and I want him to break the track record because the version that we saw of him last year is not the best version. And likewise, when we saw Romantic Warrior, we didn't, we didn't get to see the best version. You probably won't get to see the best version, but as close to that best version as possible is what I would love us to see. And I think every racing fan would love to see that.
Speaker 8I agree with that. We're not going to see him run to his Hong Kong peak figures, but we should see him run better than last year. A couple of interesting things to note. David Hayes said he, once he's been to Australia, once he's got here, he's really relaxed. He's eaten a shit ton of grass.
Speaker 6To be fair, Sydney gets the best of us. It does. Horse and human.
Speaker 8Exactly. Zach says the horse gets away from them a little bit. It's a lot more relaxed environment out at Warwick. Is it Warwick Farm? No, Canterbury. Canterbury. Canterbury. But it's a bit of a
Speaker 6concrete jungle in Hong Kong. Like I know he goes to Chong Fa, but.
Speaker 8Yeah. And they reckon when he is in, you know, the hustle and bustle of that sharting environment, he's a little bit more switched on. So they said he was really relaxed. He didn't sweat up anywhere near as much as last year before that trial.
Speaker 6And the pace they went in that trial.
Speaker 8In the trial, they're just going, you know, three quarter gallop. So. A horse like Ninja who's got a big turn of foot, sits off him, is always going to look impressive. He is a very good trialer, Ninja.
Speaker 6And he's a lovely wet tracker. And he's a very good wet tracker. And he's a good fresh horse. And he did obviously run in the premier.
Speaker 8Next week, Koeing Rising and Blue Door are going to be going a fast tempo, I reckon. Above average anyway.
Speaker 7Oh, you reckon?
Speaker 8And it's going to be, it's not just going to be some sit and sprint where a horse like Ninja can just sit right behind them and go bang. They're going to be chasing from a long way out.
Speaker 6I love Tempted. And I think she's a very, very good horse. But I've just got so much to say. I've just got so much to say. I've just got so much complete confidence in Koeing Rising. There's just not a world where I see him getting beat. Love it. Bot, any thoughts?
Speaker 7Who cares? Oh, come on.
Speaker 8Give us something. Fuck off. Mate, it's the world's best horse in Australia. I know, but the trial. Trained by an Australian trainer. Who cares about the trial?
Speaker 6That response is as bad as, is as bad as good as, shout out to our friends, the My Race Horse, doing wonderful work. What about, what about. Careful, careful. What about the rot about. Mekko? No, no, no, nah, nah, I'm calling this out for what it is. You can purchase the trial photo finish. They beat Koeing Rising.
Speaker 3Fucking turn it up. No, no, no. That's fine. If I had a horse that beat the
Speaker 7world's best horse in a trial, I'd want to fucking frame it. Oh my God. I think it's, it is funny. Rot. Obviously. But it's, if I owned a horse that beat Koeing Rising under 18. It's not a horse. It's not any circumstance. I'd frame it.
Speaker 6It's not April Fool's. Leave the jokes to me. My race horse. Fair dinkum. More like his race horse, her race horse, everyone's race horse.
Speaker 8And whilst we're
Speaker 6on Ninja, what about the 1% being sold for $55,000 today, valuing this gelding at 5.5 million. What is he doing there?
Speaker 7What if he wins the Everest? Is he, is he definitely a gelding?
Speaker 6He'd still be behind.
Speaker 8Yeah, he's a gelding. Is he definitely a gelding? Yes, he's a gelding. Okay. He's not worth five and a half mil.
Speaker 6Yeah. They've taken the utter piss. He's been cranked up to win the trial. They're not controlling that. They're very good. They've made $55,000 on selling their photo finish photos. And they've got another $55,000 out of selling the 1% share. Lots is happening at My Race Horse HQ.
Speaker 8The business model. Full credit to them. Oh my. It's a good one.
Speaker 6They're very good business people. I hope they're putting it all on Koeing Rising. The analogy I use. The analogy that I use with you.
Speaker 8You go to a bank. You go to a bank. You go to a bank. You borrow 10 grand off a bank. Jono, help us out here. If you borrow 10 grand off a bank, your interest will be, you'll pay back what? 12 maybe? Something like that. Oh, a bit more. Around about that. 20%, something like that. My Race Horse, you give them 200 bucks, they give you back $50 in $1 installments.
Speaker 7Maybe a bonus bet too? No. Yeah. It's good. It's good. It's good stuff. Gets people involved in racing. I don't want to shit on them. I think it's a good stuff. I don't want to shit on them too. I just think it's funny. It's good. I have no issue with it. It's fun. Not everyone can spend a shitload of money on one.
Speaker 8It's good. It gets people involved in racing. Yeah. But tell you what, it's a smart business model.
Speaker 7Yeah. Yeah. But anyway.
Speaker 8Want to buy a horse? Just get 100,000 people to give you 50 bucks each, and you go spend it at Inglis. Who else was very good? Cosmic Crusader. Oh, fuck. Yeah. He ran 104.2. Light infantry man's going a really fast tempo in front. I expected light infantry man to lead. I probably didn't expect him to go quite that fast in front, and it was the fittest horse who had pretty good soft track form. Never seen him on the heavy track, but to be fair, bot, that track probably played closer to the soft range anyway.
Speaker 7Yeah. Obviously, it's been well-documented, everyone giving plaudits to the Flemington track, but yeah. I mean, fair dues. The track raced really well, I thought. Cosmic Crusader was. Best equipped to cope with the fast pace and the rain-affected conditions, and he sat behind the speed and did an excellent job reeling in the leader. Look, Sir Delius and Aliana, they're both completely fine. I have no issue with their runs at all. They'll bounce back on Cox Plate Day. Chris Waller and Gay Waterhouse will have their horses spot on for Cox Plate Day. Cosmic Crusader's going to the Caulfield Cup. That's exciting. That is big news, mate. That is really, really good. It's going to make the Caulfield Cup so much better. Because let's be honest, the Caulfield Cup was looking a little bit. Dicey? Yeah. Him there makes the race so much more interesting. And honestly, I think he might stay a mile and a half. Look, even pace, even the slow pace, he will get a mile and a half easily. Does he? Does he? He's got to get it with a really fast pace. Maybe. Maybe. That's the question. But he gets in quite well with 56 kilos. He has to be Caulfield Cup favorite, I think, based on that effort. And I was completely wrong. I thought after his run at. What are we watching here? Parking the last. Parking the last. In the Saracen. A one, a two, a three. Is that Cosmic Crusader? I think it was. Yeah. He's going to be really exciting in the Caulfield Cup. Look, I'm not exactly sure of the field right now. But. He'll have to be favorite. He was excellent.
Speaker 8He can't be longer than $4. Yeah. He's ran 104.2 with 58 kilos. He drops back down to 56. Oh, boys, take a sip.
Speaker 6We've got Chris on the TV crying.
Speaker 8He has to be a pretty dominant favorite.
Speaker 7Yeah. Yeah. He will be. It's great for racing. And he'll back up in the Cox Plate, I think, too.
Speaker 8So. Yeah. Hopefully, it doesn't gut him. If they do get a fast tempo in the Caulfield Cup, it might take a bit out of him for the one-week backup. He'll be seventh up until Cox Plate. They still want to go to a Northerly.
Speaker 6Wow. That's. Yeah. They're just treating that as a barrier trial. He's just improved so much. He just turns up for a track, wins a Northerly. Well, look what racing your horses does for them. Like it. Oh, here we go. Racing your horses. Not everyone's got a constitution that you can have this many runs in the campaign.
Speaker 7Well, Cosmic Crusader didn't even run as a two and three-year-old. He's obviously got a. He's not the soundest of horses, but racing
Speaker 8your horses is good for them. Are you sure you're not related to Adam Blanco? Are you sure? Like, there could be.
Speaker 7It's not. That's not. That's not a. That's not consent. Like, that is. It's just good for them.
Speaker 8No, I actually.
Speaker 6I do agree with you, but you just sound like him. Yeah, but it's not black and white like you think it is.
Speaker 7It is. No, it's not. Obviously, it's not.
Speaker 8But racing horses is generally good. He's improved what? He's peaked by a length and a half there.
Speaker 7Yeah. About that. Yeah. I thought after he was beaten by Birdman, I was like, well. I didn't think he was that good. That. Yeah. I thought he was as good as what he did last time, and I didn't think he could improve from it, but I was wrong, and the market certainly didn't think he could improve. Yeah. I think he was. He was a drifter on race day, and. What did they back? They backed Aliana and Sergillius. They kept those two pretty short, and. Yeah. I had him $10, so
Speaker 8I got that completely wrong. So all the WA listeners out there, we might have upset a few people with Wharfie Time a couple of weeks ago, Nico, but they got us back with Cosmic Crusader.
Speaker 6That was to Freeman, or not to Cosmic Crusader or racing fans. True, but there was a couple of WA fans that weren't happy with our work on Twitter. Fucking womp womp.
Speaker 8Speaking of Chris Waller, he was just on the TV here in the studio. God's Window, is that what it's called?
Speaker 6I do not want to see that replay.
Speaker 8God's Window, Sienna Grimer. Grimer? Yep. Shout out to Sienna. First ride in a Group 1, 50 kilos, come storming home down the outside, wins at 30 to 1, gets Benny the Randwick Quaddie. That's the only positive. Outstanding. Chey Wolf should have won. Look, we had a good result going for Chey Wolf. He flies. $15. 59 kilos. He's unlucky.
Speaker 6I'll make the statement now, because I'll save it for a week early. might call me mad, but I think Blink is on. Cheowolf is some sort of threat to Autumn Glow next week. She's not a $1.20 chance, in my opinion. And I think Autumn Glow might just find reserves because that's what good horses and champions do. But, oh, my God, Cheowolf is absolutely humming and he's going to have improvement with the blinkers on and he's going to get pride of Jenny Tempo. These have all been things that he has eaten up, especially in this race. Autumn Glow would want to be at her best because if she's underneath the level and the bar that she's usually set, Cheowolf's going to be right there ready to pounce.
Speaker 8Yeah, I do agree to some extent. He's going to be hard to beat and he's going for three straight wins in a row.
Speaker 6All I'm going to say is thank God that the Everest is before the King Charles. Yeah, it always is.
Speaker 8It's usually race seven Everest and King Charles race eight. Because if you've got multis,
Speaker 6I suggest that you can level your book up after you collect your Kaya Ying winnings.
Speaker 8Yeah, have a little save up.
Speaker 6Because Cheowolf is absolutely flying. Other big reasons. I think he's a threat.
Speaker 8Global Goal won the flight stakes. She stated the 1600 metres best. Full credit to you. Rating wasn't great.
Speaker 6Full credit to you and everyone. It felt like everyone was tipping her.
Speaker 8Thank you. No, it was good. She just looked like the horse that was wanting more ground.
Speaker 6Pat on my back. I nailed striking at level five. Squibby hand sciatic.
Speaker 8Yeah, you did nail that. And Queen's Gamble with Tommy Berry went forward and actually set a genuine tempo. And that really helped Global Goal. She's now going to the spring champion. She's favourite. The last filly to win the spring champion. It was a very good one in Montefiglia. And she might be able to repeat those deeds. Whether she comes down for an Oaks is probably doubtful. She'll probably spell after that. But she was good.
Speaker 6I wonder if David Payne's other good filly is going to go there.
Speaker 7Proxima Dea. It's a full. I like it. I think it's a full to Gypsy Goddess.
Speaker 6Yeah, it's related to some other horse. Gypsy Goddess, yeah. Juju Kibo. She's a nice horse.
Speaker 8Ran the second best rating behind Tempted on Saturday. He ran 101.2.
Speaker 7As if he didn't come. He didn't come down for the Bart Cummings. My God, he was a certainty. Yeah, he would have been. He would have belted Mr. Monaco. Well ridden by Sam. Juju or Arthur Wolfe? Well, both of them.
Speaker 8You know what's sickening? I took 50 to 1 for Juju Kibo to win the Metrop in 2025.
Speaker 7It's always been one of ours. If my grandma had wheels, she would have been a bike too.
Speaker 8Well, that's no way to speak about your grandma. I'm sure she's a lovely lady.
Speaker 6What bee is in your bonnet tonight? I'm feeding him.
Speaker 8Look, it's a fair point. Arthur Wolfe was okay. He was back to the inside. He was halted momentum slightly, but surely that's the end of the road. Now they spell. The only other performance that I want to mention, oh, there's probably two more at Flemington. One of those was the next episode. Coolmore's over. Is it over? Is it? No, it's not. 99.5 he's gone to and he's only going to get better. Yeah. So will she back on better ground? Yeah. But 1200? Yeah. Advantage him.
Speaker 6Yeah. Well, probably, but she's not. Coolmore's not over. She can absolutely still win. Coolmore is over. She's a very, very good fillier. He might be, he might be an exceptional colt, but it's not over in my book.
Speaker 7I think, I think he went by three on Derby Day.
Speaker 8I think the Coolmore's over as well. I'm, I'm in Botts camp there. Sorry, Nico. She is very good. She is very good. But he's only going to improve off this.
Speaker 6Yeah. There's nothing to say that she won't. She hates, she hates heavy ground.
Speaker 8He was very, very good. Those first couple of trials in Sydney, they graved me up a little bit, but it was good to see him back in Melbourne. They were much better.
Speaker 6I realized why Kieran got so emotional. You know, he's got 20%. Really? Of course he does. Really? Well, it wasn't by, it wasn't by, it wasn't planned. It just happened by.
Speaker 8It was a $2.7 million colt. How does he have 20%?
Speaker 6Because obviously they got it and they bought it and someone pulled out. I don't reckon Kieran's short for cash.
Speaker 8Yeah, but it's still a fucking. He wouldn't have spent that much money on a horse by himself.
Speaker 6That is still a big gamble. 20%. Like that's like half of it. Over half a million dollars. That's a big gamble if it doesn't go right.
Speaker 8Like. If Kieran spent. If Kieran spent that much on a horse, that is, that is reason to get a tear in the eye.
Speaker 6That's like, this is, that's a lot of money. Yeah. When he wins a cool movie worth a hell of a lot more. Well, yes, Bob, but it doesn't
Speaker 7always work out that way.
Speaker 8The stud deal is probably already confirmed even off that win. Yeah. Let's be honest.
Speaker 7And in this day and age. Well, first Settler's got a gig at stud. He won this race. Absolutely. Stop it.
Speaker 8Skybird, Smooth Chino. Benny Mellom. Ben Mellom, Austin Gilardi. Unbelievable. Just ride them out, lads. Just ride them out.
Speaker 7I was watching this race and oh, I've. Ice cream is not the one to blame. I literally, I literally, um, I yelled, I yelled at the finish line.
Speaker 8I was like, oh my God. Cause I thought he lost it. And he was. I was watching with Liv and I'd had a good bet on Skybird. Um, had a couple, a couple of little saves, Smooth Chino, Arkansas kid. So I wasn't going to lose too much on the race, but Skybird was.
Speaker 6Liv knew about a quarter of the stake.
Speaker 8Was the main bet.
Speaker 6Broke even, babe.
Speaker 8And she, she, she went off. She started celebrating. That 50 meter mark. And then the last 20 was just like, oh, if you saw Jason Richardson's reaction with. Yeah, I was the same. Emma Friedman. It was, I was exactly the same as that. It got way too close. Way too. He was fined $2,000. Ben Mellom, Austin Gilardi fined 1000.
Speaker 6It was his first ride at Flemington. So he's obviously just eased. Just looked at Mellom. Wrongfully. Sorry. When he's looked at Mellom. So
Speaker 8if Mellom gets beat
Speaker 6there, it's like. That's six weeks. Maybe not quite that, but. It's a month at least. The punters would have been up in arms.
Speaker 8He can count his lucky stars. I'll tell you that.
Speaker 6Just, but there's just no reason to ease up. Like. Yeah. Just ride them out.
Speaker 8Just ride them out like five meters, 10 meters past the line. It's one of my absolute pet hates. We're not, we're not jockeys, but still.
Speaker 6Anyway. Yeah. But still they're like the month, the punters need, like you're backing a horse that is going to be written out to the entire race. Yeah. Yeah. A hundred percent. There's no, there's, there's not a gray area there.
Speaker 8Hanky Altha was mine. Mighty impressive. She, she. How's this thing only won two races in NZ? I don't know how it's ever lost in NZ. She won by six. I know the race wasn't that strong, but she would have given that Concord Connie race a real shake last week at Mornington. Makes no sense. What makes no sense?
Speaker 7It's just like the exposed New Zealand form, which you just improve like about five things.
Speaker 8Strange. It is weird. Who's she with now?
Speaker 7Cindy Oldison. Cindy Oldison.
Speaker 6There you go. Yeah. They brought her over for the Grays race, but they think it might be a bit better than that. I mean, Garris was trying to get it for the slot race today. He's had some of Jigsaw's cereal.
Speaker 8Yeah. Um, Mr. Mr. Monaco is into the Melbourne cup via the Bart Cummings and James Johnson gave that a nice little fist pump over the line.
Speaker 7Look at him. Just drop something like that and just keep it going. He's an absolute professional, Benny.
Speaker 8Yeah. Next topic, lads. Sure. Um, did you say James gave it a bit over the line? He knew he secured his Melbourne cup right?
Speaker 7Yeah, he kept the Melbourne cup right. Good on him. He seems like a likable young bloke. He does. He's probably the same age as me. He'd fit in well with us. Unlike you. Yeah.
Speaker 8I think he's younger than you. He's young. Is he? Would he be younger than me? Yeah. He's still a teenager. Maybe 20 years old. Is he really?
Speaker 7He's like real young. Yeah. I'm basically that too. Yeah. I'm mentally anyway. I'm like still 15. Yeah. Anyway, the only other
Speaker 8horse that we need to review is that is one, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. 128 plus time form. Not quite as good as last year, but it was a enjoyable way to stay up on Sunday night,
Speaker 6Nico. Yes. Yes, it was. It was worth staying. It was worth staying up for. I would have been disappointed had he got beat because I'd lost some sleep, but yeah, nice horse. And those colors will probably win the race next year just with the stable, mate.
Speaker 8The gelding. Geldings can finally enter the race. Calandigan is $15 with that.
Speaker 6Would you back Calandigan V there is in a head-to-head? Not that it'll ever happen. So we're talking mythical races here.
Speaker 8I don't think there's too much between them at 2,400. I think at 2,000 Calandigan, I don't know, 24 probably stretches Calandigan a little bit, a strong 24. But I'm, I'm happy to take, like we took $21. He's now 15. So I think that's a good price. He's got to be targeting the race next year. I mean, you've got to have your, your money locked up for. Yeah, I know, Ben.
Speaker 6I know. We've fucking locked it up for 360 days. Mate. But anyway.
Speaker 8Better than Bank Interest. Better than Bank Interest, potentially. First colt to go back-to-back in the arc since 1978, Bot. Yeah. Does retirement loom? I don't know. Probably, yeah. Probably. I don't too. There's no need to go three. No, I don't think he'll be racing on Inter next year, but got on him and he delivered the money for us. I don't know. The, the horse that was actually a dog, ran sixth, I think, beaten about 3.8 lengths. Who? Who? What was it called? Maltese Cross. Maltese Cross. We copped a bit of shit for that one.
Speaker 7The Shih Tzu. Twitter. That Harsheel guy doesn't look like a fan. Come on, mate. Harsheel, yeah. Come on, mate.
Speaker 6Maltese Cross. Rightfully so. Don't know who it is and still don't know who it is.
Speaker 8There's about 50 people with Ryan Moyes, their display picture on Twitter. I can't keep up with all of them. Anyway, let's get into the race.
Speaker 6How did Ryan go? Did Ryan ride last weekend?
Speaker 8Uh, yeah. Diamond Necklace. Did he ride? No, he rode the other one.
Speaker 6No, he rode Benvenuto Cellini. Yeah, he should have rode Diamond Necklace. That thing is a squib.
Speaker 8He should have rode Diamond Necklace. He ran third. Third, yeah. How's the form?
Speaker 6We probably let, um, Bay City Roller get under our guard a little bit.
Speaker 8And one of the, um, good judges over there.
Speaker 6He ran second to Deriz in the lead up. And he's paid $8 a place or something.
Speaker 8Yeah, he was 30 to one. Let's move on to this week. Kent, uh, Caulfield. What are we doing, bot?
Speaker 6Fuck, I'm keen to bet. So am I. Rail's true. Rail's true. Rail's true. Sun's out. Gun's out. Mullet's full. Armourguard is ready and ordered to packen them.
Speaker 7The Armourguard's right out the front.
Speaker 821 degrees, partly sunny on Saturday. There might be a tiny bit of rain on Friday night. Doesn't look like it. We're going to be racing on a good four. Possibly even good three, but we'll go with good four. Track should be perfect. Maybe fence off.
Speaker 7We just gotta hope there's no potholes on the track. True. A couple of pluggers. It should be perfect days racing on Saturday.
Speaker 8Track is soft at this stage on a Wednesday night, soft six. It's 27 degrees on Friday, 25 or something tomorrow. We're going to be racing on a firm track.
Speaker 6Thank God it's a bit cooler on Saturday. 27 and sunny would be a bit too aggressive for me at the start of spring.
Speaker 8Have you checked the wind? A bit of a sweat. I do believe there is some southerly predicted.
Speaker 7Yeah, I had a look at it. Westerly, southerly? Yeah, it's probably not enough to really warrant too much interest in this. That last time I checked anyway.
Speaker 8All right. Southwestly.
Speaker 6I just had a heart attack then, so 29 Saturday, but it was rare with weather. There you go.
Speaker 8Let's get into this program. Let me just load, load this up. We're going to start in race number one, where we often do when we'll, Alfred is betting. It's a benchmark 80 over the 1700 meters and these prices are with bet 365. Obviously the market is as follows. VIP $2.90 from Encanto Star, $4.20 the full to Jimmy. Just Desserts is $4.60 looking for four straight and Emperor Zoo also looking for four straight is $8.50. That can be the same said for Encanto Star. So there's heaps of winning form here.
Speaker 7There is, but I'm ignoring the winning form. Oh, well. Sort of, not really VIP named after myself. It's one, two in a row, it's one, two in a row. It's one, four from five. It's a really nice horse. This son of a Russian camelot. Look, I think he's a, I think he's a really, really nice horse. He's progressive. I think they're going to go to decent enough clip here and he's just going to sort of sit just, just worse than midfield. And I think he's going to hit a number that some of these can't, I think is a really nice horse group group listed group three, sort of 2000 meter horse. I think for VIP named after myself. Do you want to re-enter that, re-enter that again? You have to say it twice just in case, just in case you didn't hear, um, Blake Sheen rides, I marked it $2.60. I think it's a bet at $2, whatever price it is with our friends at B2C5.
Speaker 8Beautiful. There you go. We move on to race number three. This is the Vars group three, and this is for the four-year-old plus mares. What is it? What's the actual name for it? Is it the Centenary Vars? Can't remember, but they've just got the sponsor name there. Surf and Birdie, our $3.60 favorite will improve up to the mile from on display $4.40. Servetri has been a little bit of a drifter today, getting out to $4.60. It's your map horse from barrier one. Perfect 10 back from a break, 15 into nine and Astral Flame is $10. Nico, I think you're keen to stick with the Mornington last start impressive winner.
Speaker 6Yeah, I am. I think Servetri is a, is an easy bet to have. I think this mare is absolutely flying. Last start was good. Um, she's one for one at Caulfield. I think, um, the step to the mile will be no issue. And I think she's progressive. She's going to need to be because she's coming out of a lot lesser, greater form. But, um, yeah, I think barrier one early in the day, sort of jump lead and hopefully win. The main danger for me is Surf and Bird, who's unbeaten at the mile. Um, three from three. It's a winner at Caulfield. Um, that's the main danger. Um, so yeah, I think we'll find out how good Servetri is on Saturday because I think Surf and Bird is going to come and give it the stare at some point in time. And, um, if there's any chink in the armor of Servetri, we're going to find out, but I think she's a nice horse. I think we're going to get a nice price to find out. And I might just, um, I think I'll, I'm going to back Servetri and probably just cover my ass with Surf and Bird just because I'd hate to get beaten. I, one of the boys and, and it's pretty glaringly obvious. Like it's got the right form, a lot, a lot stronger and it's, um, at all profile as well. So I think it's a race in two. I'd be pretty surprised if something else won.
Speaker 8Yep. But you're with it as well. It did beat Miss Castle Vecchio last start. It did thump it in good time. Good rating. However, that horse is a genuine midweek horse.
Speaker 7Yes. Yeah, it is. Do you think it can progress? I do think so. Like it was a horse that I thought was progressive last. Last campaign, I, um, had a good opinion of it. I went over to the Australasian Oaks and, uh, ran well without winning. Okay. It did beat nothing, but it did in great time. It was, it was the first race of the day and I thought the, um, the inside might've been really hot at Mornington, but the, the racing, the racing following across the day proved otherwise. It was, um, you know, there were, there, it was no massive advantage to be inside there. So the rating was big. The time was fast. Um, it'll roll. Obviously, like Nico said, I'm absolutely shit scared of Surf and Bird who he put, Surf and Bird ran an enormous rating in, um, on the, on the, on, on Coongie day last year.
Speaker 8Then got beaten on Melbourne Cup day and I've never forgiven it.
Speaker 7Yeah. Yeah. Hasn't gotten near that figure since, but you know, has won one since and is a nice horse was, it was a good run without winning last time in the golden pendant, you know, started $5 to Lazura.
Speaker 6But, um, It's just fantastic form.
Speaker 7Yeah. It's great form. And it's pretty scary when you're backing a horse off of beating this Castle Vecchio in a Mornington Benchmark 70, but yeah, I'm just trusting the time that it ran. And, um, look, look, I think, I think you're getting a reasonable enough price. You'll probably get $5 on the day and it's going to be a pretty easy bet to have to. Leeds uncontested? No, no. I think Surf and Bird will roll across it's Gay Waterhouse, two horses, you know, I think, I think it will probably, maybe Leeds, but Surf and Bird.
Speaker 6That one displays a cap.
Speaker 7Yeah. Look, it'll roll forward. That's for sure. It'll be in
Speaker 8a horrible spot as well. It'll be second half of the field. Let's move on to the Herbert Power. Speaking of horses, I have not forgiven. This is a group two over 2,400 meters. You win this, you are into the Caulfield Cup on the one week backup. Pinhole is the horse I speak of, $4.40. How on earth did it beat Stars In Their Eyes on grand final day a couple of weeks ago? I don't know. Anyway, it's our favorite. It's been really well supported. In from $6 with Bet365 from Future History, $4.60 out to $5.50. Probably went up a little bit short. Chocolates is $6.00, Zucuma $6.50. This horse has it's Melbourne Cup ticket, but not Caulfield Cup. Is that right? Or he should get in. Not sure. I know he's definitely in the Melbourne Cup. I'm not sure if he's. Yeah, he's in the Melbourne Cup, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure if he's passed the ballot for the Caulfield Cup or not. And Machine Gun Grace, he's $9.00. Bott, what are you backing?
Speaker 7I am dead keen on Pinhole, one of the two horses that have already taken a position. I am, yeah, I'm in love with Pinhole. Where are you?
Speaker 6Half back, half forward, infield? Where's he mapping? What position have you taken?
Speaker 7$6.00. Yeah. So, yeah. Fucking joke straight over his head. That's shit chat. Sorry. Anyway, continue. Yeah, I was actually, it's actually funny. I remember this horse Pinhole from, I was watching Royal Ascot maybe two years ago and this horse was absolutely off the map to win the Queen's Vase. Didn't win, but I remember that it was one of the biggest goes you will ever see, you know, on a, on a big sort of carnival day, off the map. Anyway, that's irrelevant, but it's complete mile and a half horse. It wants, you know, it's run a really nice figure over mile and a half. One really well. Fast time at Randwick last time, beating stars in your eyes, unfortunately for me. Oh, that was hard. Hard to watch. But J Mac jumps on, it's going to map sort of midfield, forward and midfield. It's, um, as good as you, I marked it three 50. Like I'm not going crazy, but at $6, the price that I took, I think, I don't know what price is, but I bet friends at four 40. You might get better. That is a, that is a very nice price to take. Now, if you're not on it, I would very much recommend taking that price. Cause back at now still, I think you might start like three bucks. And yeah, I love it.
Speaker 8I love how J Mac's gone. If you can't beat them, join them. They got stars in your eyes. He was on stars in their eyes two weeks ago. Now he's on the stable.
Speaker 7My first time J Mac's ever been done in a photo.
Speaker 8Yeah. And it looked like he won. Yeah. Dean Watling even tweeted that he won.
Speaker 6I saw that. Shout out to our band.
Speaker 8It's sickening. Imagine tweeting that a horse had won and going off J Mac listed over the line. It looked like he won.
Speaker 6I remember Trent Krebben did the photos up. You just could have just waited. You could have waited. It's a man.
Speaker 8He's had a man.
Speaker 7I remember Trent Krebben did that once. He, um, he posted. He posted, he backed some horse with a place or something and he posted about it. Like I can't, I can't remember the exact context of it. No, it wasn't, it wasn't a bang, but he said something along the lines of that. And I messaged him probably. He's like, Hey mate, this is this horse ran four. Oh no. He's deleted the thing.
Speaker 8It's just sickening stuff.
Speaker 7Cause he does the, like the transcription stuff for racing and sports. And, um, um, Jack Turnbull thought the horse, it was a Kiramar horse. And he thought it, even Jack Turnbull thought it held on for third, so he was spewing. Um, that is sick.
Speaker 8Um, two horses to quickly ask you about, Chocolate's very good last time. She somewhere in the mix?
Speaker 7Yeah, of course. She's, she's there. Yeah. I mean, she's got a, she's got a ticket for the Melbourne cup now, doesn't she? So she, um, I mean, I, I assume they'll be laying off her a little bit. She's drawn wide. So I assume they'll probably just give her a run leading into the Melbourne cup. There's no need to sort of, um, I actually didn't mind Knight's choice, the Melbourne cup winner, and any chance you get to back a champion. Um. stop it
Speaker 8he's $11 yeah
Speaker 7that's short I thought he was quite good last start um what about one
Speaker 8smooth operator i thought he could improve yeah
Speaker 7so did i marked him 20 to 1 okay and he's 30 to 1 i had something
Speaker 8on him at 50 to 1 all in just a really small ticket um he's got to carry the top 100 each way for bed please it was like 20 bucks 30 bucks we move on to race number five it is the northwood plume stakes this is for the mares only four-year-old plus a couple four-year-old plus races on this card broader waltz our 2.50 favorite in from an opening price of 2.80 point barrow has been 360 into 280 as well so they're only backing two horses and two horses only in this race they did run the one two last start nafa is nines out to 12 abounding 16 out to 19 eagle express 19 out to 21 so everything is on the drift we're seeing eye to eye here in the studio are we we are nico and i are on broader waltz i am backing her as my bet i think she will probably lead this race there is a little bit of pressure bossy benita and nafa might come across but i think she leads the race i think she goes a solid clip in front and i think she can turn the tables on point barrow maybe we get a little bit of a southerly breeze maybe these leaders uh are advantage and i just think point barrow arrived in time last time around and yes she did beat her hands down but i'm hoping from barrier 13 we just have complete map advantage over her and we're too good so i've had a good crack at broader waltz at 280 i got and i saved on point barrow just to get my state back at 320 yep i think um
Speaker 6i love the jockey change i think ben mellon got it a bit wrong last time i think a better ride this time from from trumpy dolan um i just see this race panning out better for bridal waltz i think point barrow got a smart ride last time but was aided too by a bit of a misjudgment from from ben and i think um yeah the way that i sort of cut this race apart i thought bridal waltz um has a much better setup to turn the tables here she was coming again late and i think um trumpy won't make the same mistake twice well not the same mistake he didn't make the mistake last time but the same mistake won't be making on this on this horse twice and i think um yeah i think she'll win she's clearly the best for me and um i'd have her odds on and i think she's i think she's i think she's odds on and a
Speaker 1moral so boom boom boom
Speaker 7well i completely disagree and i've backed point barrow this is a rebuttal enjoy this is the other early bit that i've had with our friends our friends i took the 320 and i i think point barrow will start favorite well i happen to let you on because i know that's a donation mbls um yeah i i think she'll um i think she'll start favorite she ran all over point barrow last time you can make the excuse that um ben mellon eased up on it but i didn't think it did i don't think i'm not sure it mattered she was absolutely running are you
Speaker 8saying peter moody was wrong is that what
Speaker 7you're saying i wouldn't want to tell him no i've got it covered no i'm kidding he would sit on him
Speaker 6numbers don't lie content too fast um the two no he did too fast and paul paul judge rod
Speaker 7no he did not go
Speaker 6too fast agree to disagree
Speaker 7um yeah point point barrow is um a bit 260 chance for me so i i'm not going to go too fast i'm not going to go too fast i'm not going to go too fast dead keen on point barrow beautiful
Speaker 8uh the last race before the early before the quaddie kicks off the last leg of the early quaddie is race number six it's the scolacci stakes and speaking of six races it's one to six with our 25 winnings plus boost this weekend saturday at corfield and rose hill and what's more is obviously with the one pool coming into play bet three six five i know it's i know not everyone's a fan of it however you get 10 plus yeah on both tote win and place bets and all the exotic bets so our friends i think they're the only ones doing it i think the blue cafe are only doing the tote plus 10 on win bets but we're doing it on exotics as well scolacci stakes this is a wait for age race group two 1100 meters and wait for age is going to suit jigsaw the highest rated horse in this race 114 down to the ground is two dollars fifty from flying for fun five dollars ray magnerio four dollars eighty out to 550 in karuna eight out to ten and two dollars fifty from flying for fun five dollars ray magnerio four dollars eighty out to ten and two dollars fifty out to ten and two dollars fifty out to ten and two dollars fifty out to ten and strides and is eleven dollars i tried to take an early
Speaker 7position on jigsaw early in the week not with our
Speaker 8friends you got put in your place by my bet got rejected and tim ryan said i was at the back of the queue even though i was at the front of my own queue because i'm the one who set the bet out however facts don't matter the trade is always right so i i bit my tongue i said thanks for
Speaker 6applying forward to backing tim's lay of the day that'll win evidently
Speaker 8on saturday i was i was keen look four dollars was put up in the all in betting by some books on jigsaw and when i saw that some of these good mayors had jewel accepted in the northwood plume broder waltz point barrow and the scalacci i thought well if some of them go to the mayor's race where they're well in at the weights he's going to start short that's what he is i've had to i've just had to sort of um take my own medicine and take a shorter price but i am keen on him he just keeps winning this horse he draws barrier one he's so well in at the weights here i know flying for fun ray magnerio they'll run really well but jigsaw i think he's just going to lead them a merry dance here i doubt there's too much pressure on him in the lead and logan bates has just perfected the ride on him so he's going to be in front a very very long way and his ratings stack up so so well so i'm really keen on jigsaw i think ray magnerio will run well and spoiler alert he will be my top four selection in the sen weekend preview multi on friday beautiful nothing
Speaker 6to add for me i just i didn't give the race too much
Speaker 8yeah bought anything no too hard too hard race seven up next at caulfield is the first leg of the quaddie it is the first of our group ones as well it is the group one might and power stakes 2000 meters what was it named before this the caulfield stakes it was just called the caulfield stakes that's the registered name and we see possibly what are we going to say the second best horse in australia right now maybe the third second best second best tempted autumn glow they're the top three anyway all on the podium she's probably number two right now she's alibi she's a dollar 35 behind uh behind her is birdman three dollars 80 he's been a little bit of a drifter today out from 340 treasure the moment he's 11 kingswood 13 land legend 71 torrens eno can't win at 200s it's going to be an interesting tactical race which has been the story of this race the last couple years in small fields bot but to be fair a slowly run race probably suits both she's alibi and birdman because they've both got the same
Speaker 7elite acceleration yeah they do um look i think i think it'll probably be slow uh for the opening sort of thousand meters but i do i do think that kingswood would maybe treasure the moment was try and increase the pace you know thereafter look i i think it'll probably be slow and there's only two horses that can win the race genuinely and she's alibi if she runs 2000 meters which i think she probably will there's no there's no um real issue with that i don't think and um yeah she'll probably run her number and she'll win she's probably she couldn't back her at a dollar 40 i wouldn't have thought and birdman three to one i mean you could maybe but but i'm not going to they're
Speaker 8probably priced about right
Speaker 7maybe you
Speaker 8could mark she's alibi a little bit longer than a dollar 35 and birdman a little bit shorter than
Speaker 7that yeah i just i just think it's going to go such a slow pace and um it'll be the best turn of foot and that is she's alibi birdman has an amazing turn of speed but uh she's alibi is a little bit better it should
Speaker 8be a good contest like they could really pare down that last 300 meters and i think she's alibi will get the better of birdman but it's going to be an intriguing watch um we've backed i've backed and hopefully a lot of my subs got on six day racing is the plug you can get it on the apple app store our app or even the google play store birdman was a dollar 80 to place a couple weeks ago maybe even a week ago and i think it's going to be a good contest and i think it's going to be a good contest and i think it's going to be a good contest and i think it's going to be a good contest in this race we get the top three placings that is just absolute money money money it should it should run top three it's a dollar one to run top three currently on bet 365 i've taken that had a really good crack at it wish i had more on a dollar one taking a dollar 80 thank you very much and i've also taken the same race multi you can get on bet 365 she's alibi to win and birdman to run second two dollars twenty seven there is no way the exactor pays that much so you can take that with a good bit of confidence
Speaker 6i think nico yeah beautiful um yeah i'm not not not interested in the exacto i think she's another way we'll win i think she'll win comfortably i think she'll eat 2 000 meters so how are you playing the race just a multi yeah i'll just put cheeses through some multis might go out with a band and see if a bookie wants to take a dollar 55 or a dollar 60 things that won't happen i will take a band or bookie and see if they'll take my bet but um yeah you'd want to hope that some of these bookies on course like they've got no liability pre-post like you'll get better than this she's still gonna she's still gonna run 2 000 meters for the first time which is a query to some not for me but you would hope that the bookmakers have got some guts to them to let you on so i'll wait and see
Speaker 8and just show them the replay of this race was it two years ago when globe last year last year globe led and beat treasure the moment and co well
Speaker 6i think she's all we'd comfortably i think she'll win by three so um yeah all right and i hope they pivot and go to the cocks plate because is why would you, why would you want to win a stupid little Eagle trophy? when you can go and win the Cox Plate, but it won't happen. It'll be a track gallop for her on Saturday and I'll set her up perfect to go and win the Golden Eagles.
Speaker 7I don't think she'll win by three. I think she'll win by two. Birdman is a really good horse. Yeah, well, she's a freak. I think he'll test her.
Speaker 8Yeah. I reckon they should be a little bit closer together in the betting, but that said, I still think she probably gets the job done. Race number eight, the Caulfield Guineas Group 1 1600 metres. It is one of the great stallion making races on the calendar. Warwoven $2.20 in favour off the back of a completely dominant win in the Golden Rose from Blind Rays $3.50. Plenty of good support for the Victorian. Tronbold $8.50. It's been a little bit of a drifter. From Central Europe, $15. J-Mac goes on. Obviously the Coolmore connection. Apparently he chose to ride it. Don't know if I. No. Don't know if I completely believe you, Gareth Hall, there. Wolfgap $19 and Call Me Coach is $21. I'll put out my rated prices. I priced the top three. Warwoven $2.25, Blind Rays $5, Tronbold $6.50. Were you sort of similar, Bart?
Speaker 7Relatively. I'm sort of shade of odds on Warwoven. Look, I get the map angle and that's like the things that. I mean, the biggest angle in this race is there's not loads of speed and Warwoven and Blind Rays are the two that are going to make the pace. Those are the two horses that have the biggest chances of winning. I think Blind Rays and Blakeshin will want to make it more of a test because Warwoven is suspected a mile. I think Warwoven will get a mile if the pace is even to slow. Obviously his Golden Rose rating sticks out and is a dominant sort of cast over the race. If he runs that figure, I don't think they can beat him, but I don't think he necessarily will.
Speaker 8Who feel are going on?
Speaker 7Should be fine. You can't read into those things too much. It's just a precautionary thing. I wouldn't think any.
Speaker 8He should regress off the Golden Rose. That's what we're predicting.
Speaker 7Just how much. I mean, yeah, he should, but who's to say he should? He might improve. I'm not sure.
Speaker 8He's going to win by four if he improves. And the rest.
Speaker 7I think Blind Rays is a really nice horse, but I just think the biggest angle with him is the map. And I think yeah, I really like Tronbold. He's been the Guineas horse for forever, but 11 makes it tricky. But I just think Craig, there's no way Craig Williams doesn't show intent. He will chance his arm. It's probably not a bad booking. He has to go forward. This is a stallion making race. He's got to at least have a look.
Speaker 8Don't just drag straight back.
Speaker 7There's no way. And if he's caught three wide, he's caught three wide. He can't win if he's last. There's absolutely no way. And maybe they will do that because he is. They want to take him to the Cox Plate. He's paid up for the Cox Plate. But they just have to have a look, I think. And if he does that, I think $9 is probably a little bit too big with him. He's a chance. I mean, I'm shades of odds on Warwoven. I think $225 is what's the best?
Speaker 8Is that? Yeah, $225. $225. Yeah, $220.
Speaker 7Yeah. I wouldn't turn you out of taking that price Warwoven. I personally wouldn't back Blind Rays, but I think that his appeal is obvious. He's through the map and he won really well last
Speaker 8time, but. There was a bit going on in that race as well. There was a couple that took off around in mid-race moves.
Speaker 7Well, it was interesting because the pace was quite fast early and then Wolfgap took off mid-race into the heat of the race and that wasn't a good idea. But I like that Ethan Brown still did that because I think up until that point in the day, it was sort of looking like it was an on-pace day, even though it necessarily wasn't. But yeah, I'll be watching Call Me Coach. He's a horse I really like and I hope. I actually listened to what Sam Freedman had to say on Gareth Hall's show and it sounded as if they weren't going to keep him in training after the Guineas, but I really hope they take him to the Derby because I think he's a perfect Derby horse. But yeah, I think most likely what I'm going to do is probably back Warwoven and maybe have something just small on Tron Ball.
Speaker 8What's the other race, the Cowboy and Club? A couple of these could go to a race like that as well on Derby Day?
Speaker 7Maybe. I mean, like Sarah Fox, some burning diameter. Sort of like the B Brigade. Yeah. I mean, lots of the B Brigade are here. I mean, this is a pretty bad game. It's not a good Guineas.
Speaker 8Yeah. Warwoven's the only horse you could say is an A Grader right now.
Speaker 7Right now. Blind Rays and Tron Ball could be, but other than that the rest are just like, you know.
Speaker 8The way I'm playing the race is Warwoven is a saver for me. I think he's probably about the right price. Clearly the most likely winner. That's nothing the market isn't telling you. I think he's going to regress a length, length and a half off his Golden Rose win, getting out to 1600m he could run to 101 and still win this Guineas. It's not going to be a I don't think it's going to be a high rating Guineas. We'll soon find out, but I agree. I think Tron Ball is over the odds. If he had drawn a better gate, you could mark him much shorter than this $9. I've marked him $6.50. He's crying out for the mile. And you look back at last year, a horse like Autumn Boy was beaten a long way in the Golden Rose and then getting out to a mile, he was able to position himself a lot closer to that speed and he's just a much better miler than he is a fast run 1400m horse. And I think Tron Ball, while he might not be as good as Autumn Boy, it's a sort of similar profile. And Chris Waller third up, he should be peaking on grand final day. So those are my two plays. Blind Rays, I'm not disrespecting him. I still mark him second favourite. I just thought he was slightly under the odds.
Speaker 6Nico? Yeah, I'm happy enough to take on Will Oven. I think he's short enough. I think he's probably going to regress off last time and he probably could still win. But yeah, annoyingly have been on the wrong side of him this preparation somehow. Like, what the fuck is this? But anyway. How did he not win a Magic Millions?
Speaker 8How did the Vents scratch him?
Speaker 6Yeah, well, if only they implied the tactics that they've implied the last two times first up, it might have been a different result. But anyway, I'm not going to continue to cry over spilt milk. Blind Rays is my on top selection. I think Barry 2, Blake Shin, horse with tremendous upside. We still haven't seen the ceiling of his horse. I think he just gets an absolute gun run. I think he's going to be extremely hard to beat. Farjack? And Farjack's in the ownership, so shout out to our man who'll be out there on the track with us on the weekend. So yeah, it'd be good to see this gelding that they didn't pay a lot of money for go on to win the race that everyone dreams of winning if you've got a good three-year-old. So, I agree. I think Trombolt's a stupid price. I hope Willow has some initiative out of the gates and doesn't just snag. I don't think he will snag. I think he has to come out neutral and have a look. Bart and I discussed this a little bit before, Ben, you got to dinner. The race looks devoid of speed. I think there has to be the one-one or two pairs back one-off there for him if he's switched on enough early. Unless everything just goes up in flames. But I think that spot will be there for him if he's proactive enough early. Gotta be brave, Willow. Be brave. There's no point going back because if you go back, you can't win. I hope that's the instructions. While our third up grand final, this is a race out to the mile. Again, we know the horse loves the mile. They're the two bets. If Warwoven beats me, well, so be it. But I can't really get involved at that price. He's too short to me. And I think I would have Blind Rays and Trombolt both shorter. I think Blind Rays is probably about a three sort of $3 chance. And I'd have Trombolt maybe six bucks. Then I'd get the rest. I reckon the rest of them are none. I think it is a race in three. But yeah, I think there's a bit of juice in Blind Rays and Trombolt. So that's where I'm looking. But if Warwoven comes out and repeats what he's been doing, he could absolutely win. And I've been on the wrong side of him again. But um, yeah, that's that. Beautiful. Let's go
Speaker 8to the JJ Atkins winner. If Trombolt and Lindemann win on Saturday, I will not be losing for the day. Put it that way.
Speaker 6Be your shout.
Speaker 8Race number nine. It will be, is the Tourac Handicap 1600 metres. It's $6 a field as well. Lady Shenandoah is that price. Jay Macon would suggest running in Melbourne, not Sydney. I'm not sure if she's been scratched from Sydney yet. Maybe just check that, Nico.
Speaker 6She's in the bin
Speaker 8anyway. Yellen Brown. Regal Award. I was about to say Regal Power. $6.50 from Evaporate 850.
Speaker 6She's got Sarisa White in his mind.
Speaker 8I do. Especially after the last at Belmont there. Changing colours. $7.50. This horse is just on an absolute upward trajectory. Warnie $10. Sabarge $10. Salty Pearl 11s and Ferroche is $15. No jockey
Speaker 6booked in Sydney.
Speaker 8There you go. It's running in Melbourne then Lady Shenandoah.
Speaker 6Has been 11 in a $6 though. It's a,
Speaker 8it's an interesting race. It's not a great Tourac.
Speaker 6I'm off her.
Speaker 8But I've got results for two horses right now. One of those is Evaporate. I've backed him at $9. Um, I think you just forgive last start. He did pull up lame, I believe. So there is a little bit of an excuse there. He gets a beautiful map from barrier to Blacksheen getting out to 1600 metres. And I think 58 kilos is very much in his wheelhouse. It's a winning weight. Had something on Ferroche at $26. I think he'll be a huge improver out of the Rupert Clark. He's only beaten two there. Getting out to a mile. However, the draw is a little bit cast. 15 and 15. Hopefully sleeves up Billy Egan goes forward. Um, if he doesn't, you probably can't win and, but I I do respect your horse, Sabaj. He gets the blinkers on first time. Blinkers on again? Yeah, no. Blinkers on first time. To me, he's running like a bit of a 2,000-meter horse, his preparation, but 54 kilos he's thrown in.
Speaker 7The bet of the day. Oh, here you go. Sabaj. Sensational. Bets do not get better than Sabaj in the Tourac.
Speaker 8Wow. I can't wait for this thing to go. I'm going to have to back it now.
Speaker 7I can't wait for this thing to go in reverse. Third fastest horse, 800 meters of the race. He can't keep up with him. In the Rupert Clark. Only betted by Angel Capital and Tom Kitten, who ran third really well in the Epsom last week. He ran fourth in the All-Star Mile, fourth in the Australian Cup. He gets blinkers for the first time with 54 kilos with Ethan Brown aboard. Draws a middle barrier.
Speaker 8Max bet, you're saying?
Speaker 7Oh, I'm not saying max bet, but he's 10 to 1 and I've marked him favorite. And I'm being kind. He's hitting the piss. Oh, I think he's actually nine to one, mate. No, no. Oh, with our friends. Sorry. Yeah. Nine to one with our friends. Um, uh, yeah, I, he's so, so well in. I'd bet do not get better than Sabaj in the Tourac. And I will have a lovely night on Saturday night if he wins.
Speaker 8He's got to find a bit off the last two runs. You think he can be further forward?
Speaker 7I think. I think it doesn't. Form's going to find a lot.
Speaker 6Now he's going to carry bot too.
Speaker 7Well, this is, this is the beauty of it. He, he's finished. He ran last first up and then he ran 12th in the Rupert Clark. In the last of the MAMZ, 12th in the Rupert Clark.
Speaker 8You're saying they're not been trying. You're saying they've been trying to escape the handicapper.
Speaker 7Perhaps. That could be, that could be what it is. The blinkers go on. I just think it is just kitchen simp job that he's, he's been favorite for the Tourac all along. And he's run poorly in two runs. And now he gets here, third up, blinkers on, well-weighted, Ethan Brown jumps on. Ethan Brown's a group one jockey. Just about the best jockey in Victoria at the moment.
Speaker 8Yep. I agree. If he runs to the all-star moment.
Speaker 7He's the best bet on the day by that far. It's not funny. So good. I've got him five bucks and I could go shorter if I really wanted to.
Speaker 6There you go. Nico? It's got none. What do you like? Absolutely none. It's no fucking good. What do you like? Well, that's objectively not true. I think there's two winning chances in this race. I think number six, Regal Award. Brilliant first up, off no trial. Improvement, second up, added fitness. I just think that, I think this horse is a bit of a head case, but he's got an abundance of ability. And I think barrier four, 55 kilos, was only just nabbed late by Angel Capital and Seppels last time. That's the best form, quite clearly. Sabaj was. Still out the back with the ambulance. But anyway. And I think the mare in form with 52 kilos and her back changing colours. Changing colours would be my on top selection. I think barrier eight's perfect. 52 kilos is perfect. Yes, you lose Blake Sheen, but a couple of good opportunities for Luke Cartwright this weekend. And this is certainly one of them. This is his most important ride. This is probably the biggest ride of his career. And it would be good to see him get a group one. And I think it would be great to see Lucy, get a group one. So they're very well placed, both of them, to kick off their maiden G1s together. And yeah, I think it's a race into, I'd be surprised if anything other than Regal Award or Changing Colours wins. I've had enough of Lady Shenandoah. Yeah. Evaporate, you probably could forgive, but he's got 58 kilos and then, yeah, you don't even bother reading down the page after that.
Speaker 8Yep. Von Hawke, bot, any chance at all? Crystal Mile winner. He looks like he's looking for further. He'll go in my quality. No, I'm up to 20. I won. It's got a chance. All right. We move on to the last race. It is race number 10, and this is the Weekend Hustler over 1,400 metres. What a horse. Champion. Should this race be on the day that the Turok is? Does it? Probably, these horses probably aren't quite good enough to be in that race, but still, it makes you think a little bit. Harry Jott, $5.50 from Persian Spirit, also $5.50 in from Seven. And Zudo, $7.50. Stepardi, $9.00. Regal Zeus is probably a leader at $10.00. Nico, let's speed up a little bit here.
Speaker 6In the last, Harry Jott looks awfully hard to beat. It'll be a fair after party when he's DJing out for the last, if he wins the last. Yeah, he ran really well last time, just against the way that the track played, the way that the race unfolded. Kind of map, kind of race. This time in, by no means is a chips in job, but I just thought he was rightful favourite, and there's probably a bit of juice in that $5.56 price at the moment.
Speaker 8Beautiful. So that is Caulfield wrapped up. I didn't mind Stepardi in that race. Stepardi, there you go. Rick McIntosh and his crew. I looked at Stepardi too, but. Rose Hill Gardens, the rail is out two metres. That's probably the fairest position actually at Rose Hill over the years. Big day. Hill stakes, we've got the Roman console, a couple of the really good races in it. The weather is really heating up in Sydney, 28 degrees on Saturday. There could be a little bit of rain in the morning, but I'm still saying, even if they get a couple of mils in the morning, it's going to be. A good four, possibly even a good three, but we'll go with the good four. Hopefully it doesn't rain during the races. It says zero to four and it comes in the morning. Race number six, the Roman console looks a real race between two horses. Paradoxium $2.70 in from $2.90. Setono Glow is the one they've absolutely smashed. $4.20 now, equal favourite, also $2.70. Blessed Eagle, $10 and Steel Will is $10. Nico, have you gone for Setono Glow or the Map Horse?
Speaker 6No, Paradoxium wins this race and wins this race comfortably. Setono Glow is a good filly, but yeah, he's different gravy Paradoxium to her, I think. I think this is a horse that's still alive, cool more chance. What? I think he's forgotten about in the market currently at $11 plus, depending where you shop. And I think, yeah, I think this is a bit of a statement race. They've decided to go here. And rather than down here last week for the Daniel, they're going to go here into the Cool War. Yeah, I just think he's a really nice horse, Paradoxium. I think you can forgive that his only second up failure was in the slipper. I'm just treating this horse as a new horse, his preparation. Isn't it funny that the two best two-year-olds early on were Paradoxium and Warwoven and everyone sort of had forgotten about them. They've both gone well. Warwoven's gone to a new level. Yeah, but Paradoxium. Paradoxium, there's nothing to say that he's not going to improve again second up. He was a really good first up to the straight. So, yeah, Paradoxium clearly on top for me. I think he is one of the better vets of the day. And just maybe tune in Friday morning. Yeah. See what you can do.
Speaker 8See what I can do in terms of a bit of a boost with our friends. I'll see what I can do. I find it a little bit hard to split the two. So, Tono Glow, she ran a huge rating when beating over. Excited down the straight last time around. But Paradoxium, you've got a bonus a lot because he's going to be in front of her. Draws barrier two around Rose Hill. He's going to be hard to run down.
Speaker 7So, Tono Glow was much faster than him down the straight.
Speaker 8Yes, she did run faster than him down the straight. But we're back around to Ben. Rose Hill gardens now. And she could be giving him a fair head start from barrier 10. So, it makes it interesting. Race number seven is the Hill Stags group two. Over 1,900 meters. Run under weight for age conditions. And. This is just clearly the best bet of the day. The 117 rader in this race is Lindemann. He's into the shade of the red, $1.95. I'm going to mark him shorter than that. From militarized $7.50 into $5.50. A couple of people have logged on to the weather apps and seen there's a tiny bit of rain on Saturday. I'm sorry to tell you, I don't think it's going to be enough. Attrition is $7 out from five. He has won this race before. Remember backing him in a big price at $26. Elias is $6.50 out to $7.50 and Zambardo nine out to 11. Lindemann, I'm not sure if you've seen, I put the gif out on Twitter, a bit of a laugh. Happy Gilmore. He gets back to his happy place. He gets back to his happy place and that he's around Rose Hill Gardens, his home track. He can just completely spat the dummy last time around at Caulfield.
Speaker 6That's an understatement.
Speaker 8Um, he just absolutely hated it there. He was sent around $3 against good horses, Birdman, Cosmic Crusader, Attrition and the like. And he was terrible there, but he gets back on home soil. He's going to lead this race for fun from barrier eight. He's going to relax. He's going to settle. Nash is going to take off at the perfect time. And I just, I just can't see a way that he's going to get beaten here. I think he's up against horses that he probably has the wood over. Attrition can probably run well again, but if they both run to their best, I think Lindemann will get back to that sort of 102 sort of rating. And I just don't think these are going to challenge that. So he gets every possible chance here. Good track on Saturday. I mark him closer to $1.70. Yep. No, I completely agree.
Speaker 6I think he'll win. I think he's a rightful short price favorite. I think he'll only get shorter come, come closer to race day and, um, yeah, so just a race that if he bounces back to form, which every indication is from the master trainer that he will, he'll be awfully hard to beat.
Speaker 8Yeah. And he is a horse that can run an absolute stinker and bounce back. We saw that first up to second up. Um, as I said, he just needs to find his happy place. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. That was a little clock he should be winning on. Race number eight, the Allen Brown Stakes. Group three, 1,400 metres. Hedley Grain, $6.50 in from seven. Seppels also, that quote, $6.50. Would have been great to see Seppels in the two rack. Lady Shenandoah, also $6.50. We're saying she's probably not running. Gringotts, $7.00. He's got to carry the 61. And Linebacker is 11 into eight.
Speaker 6Nico? Seppels. Fantastic bet. That was good. Just loves, just loves this trip. He's just a great, solid, honest horse. Was super first up. Improvement to come second up. Yeah, got no crimes with him here. I think he'll be extremely hard to beat. I think Gringotts, you've probably got to forgive him last time. There's a fair bit of forgiveness to go in to see him bounce back. He probably could, but he's got a lump 61. I think Seppels with 58. Jamie Mott, who's absolutely flying. Cliff Brown, good trainer. They just know this horse. He's just a good level below that sort of handicap, sort of group one, sort of mark. And that's the equivalent of this. It is a bit of a joke that this race is the same as the Epsom prize money-wise, but that's a topic for another day. But yeah, I thought Seppels was just a really easy bet to have. I think $6.50 is more than fair. And he ticks most boxes for me. Obviously, Gringotts could bounce back, but he'd want to because it was pretty. pretty stupid ride from Nash last time. So I think tried to be a hero, ran last, instead of running second. So yeah, that's the way that I see the race. I think Seppels is a nice bet. Beautiful. Give us your quickfire bets over West. Ascot? Yep. Race six, number. Where's his fucking phone? This always happens to me whenever I get put on the spot. Race six, number eight, Basset Hound. Is a certainty. 1,000 metres, fresh up. This is a horse that's going to be awfully hard to beat and some of the better races come later on in the year. Over there, Light Clockwork is his main danger or will be his main danger in betting. She's going to be 1,200 back to 1,000 metres. So to me, this is just a paid barrier draw for her. Basset Hound will eat her alive. And race nine, I just want to touch on. I have got no firm opinion on the race just yet because. I've been a bit under the pump trying to get the main stuff done. But this is the return of all the three-year-olds, the maximum stakes. I think that my first look in some gnosis of the race is that Maria Lucia and Oren Bell, who are both dominant horses, as well as a fire of Gigi Coles, but Oren Bell and Maria Lucia will both roll forward. I think that they probably. will get there easy enough. I think Dawn Dance is probably the only other horse that might be a bit of a pest, but I think it might take hold. So Oren Bell and Maria Lucia are going to get to the front fairly easily. And Oren Bell, I've got a real soft spot for her. I think she's a really good horse. So providing she's fit enough to go first up and she doesn't have to do too much work, I think she deserves to be favourite. She's going to be awfully hard to beat, but I might post something on Twitter come Saturday once I've completely done the race.
Speaker 8Did you catch that, Bot? Synopsis. Big word from you, Kat.
Speaker 7How many syllables is that?
Speaker 8Is it three?
Speaker 6We're a fucking racing show. We're not at school.
Speaker 8There you go. Not bad. It is podcast multi-time. I'm sorry I let the team down last week with Sir Delius, but to be fair. No. I've been four from. Just cop it on the chin. I've been four from my last six best bets, but Sir Delius wasn't good enough. Only as good as your last, Ben. As the clock lands on Saturday, I believe your bet goes off first. Podcast multi, first leg, you're with.
Speaker 6Yeah, race five, 235, number seven, Bridal Waltz. For all the reasons I outlined earlier, I think she's an odds-on chance. I think Luke Nolan will make a better judgment and decision over what Ben did last time. I think this race sets up really well for her. I think Point Barrow's in a world of pain, and I don't think she's going to have the same luxuries as what she had last time, and I think Bridal Waltz will be awfully hard to beat. I think she's a certainty, so yeah, odds-on with me.
Speaker 8Yep, and I'm deep odds-on. Race seven, Rose Hill, number one in Lindemann. He's currently around the $2 mark. I think he's closer to $1.60, $1.70 chance. I think he can bounce back from last start. Just completely penned that run in the Underwood at Caulfield. We've seen he's a horse. When he gets into his rhythm, when he's in, he's happy place. That's what I'm going to call it. At Rose Hill and Randwick, he gets his own way in front. He runs very, very strong numbers. He's been competitive with the likes of Aliana and Sir Delius before, and he just hated being on his Melbourne leg around Caulfield for the first time last time around. So I think he bounces back. I think he wins. That's your podcast multi.
Speaker 7Or you could just back Sabash. Yeah, you could do that.
Speaker 6Can you give me a boost on Sabash? Probably not. Just back the podcast multi because you'll need some money. Have you back Sabash yet?
Speaker 8I haven't yet, no. He's $11 top price. I'll do it when I can be bothered. Around. Well, let's get to some questions. Remember the rules from last week. If you are asking a question that is about something we've already talked about, I'm sorry. We're just going to have to gloss over it because there are plenty of them. Okay. Casual call outs. Probably already talked about this one a little bit, but I'll just go very quickly. Lads, can you please talk about Ninja's stunning trial win and how he's the top seed for the Everest? Hashtag name badge. It's very, very good gear. Put it on. Put on your name badge. Trevor Kemp, if Half Yords wins the Caulfield Cup, does Mark Zahra keep the ride in the Melbourne Cup? Probably has to, doesn't he?
Speaker 6Well, if you're listening to Mark Zahra and. Jamie's boned them. Will Bourne's interview. Well, it sounds like Mark will ride Middle Earth. Oh, okay. Let's not get started on the whole Jamie bone. Riding half yours. Yeah, right. Calvin, if he caught the chat with Gareth today, you'll, uh, you'll make do with that, but I think it's pretty piss poor that Jamie didn't have the decency to ring up and at least say that she was going to Sydney and not riding half yours for a horse that's changed her life. It's pretty piss poor. And if it was just the shoe was on the other foot, the world would have ended if they had sacked her. So anyway, we'll leave that there.
Speaker 8Brett Norton says happy attrition day for all those who celebrate good luck and God bless. Brett, good luck with attrition. I hope he runs an honest second to Lindemann. Chris DeCaster, groundbreaking question this. Guys, I just ate too much at dinner. What's the best way to get rid of lethargy? What? When you're feeling lethargic? Oh, um, not eat so much. Stick your fingers to your throat. Yeah. Probably chunder it up. Uh, go for a walk. That, that always helps me when I've had either too much food or just had an, an, a really bad
Speaker 6bite. That's a really just odd question.
Speaker 8Rowan Gregor, what's the most infuriating loss you've had? For example, I backed smooth Chino last week and after the race, the TV nearly went out the window.
Speaker 7I always remember, um, uh, when I, when I'm asked this question, I always think of Sharice. I was on a Wednesday at Sandown and Sharice actually runs on Saturday. I'm probably going to back her too, at like two hundreds. Um, but yeah, I just remember it was one of the sickest speech you'll ever say. And it was, um. Second and third were, the horse that won was demoted and the horse that ran second won the race, but Sharice ran third and should have won the race. Oh yeah. That is one of those ones.
Speaker 6That was one of
Speaker 7the worst beats I've ever had
Speaker 6in my life. Of recent times, something's burning first up was horrible, but this, uh, the one that really pains me the most, cause it was a significant wage. Nature trip. Oh, nah, noonday garden at Ballarat. Oh yeah, that's bad. That's the worst. And I got off and I got off the plane to watch like when I landed and I watched it, I just vomited everywhere. Yeah. Well, that was proper beat. Cause he was like, he had no right to pick himself up and have a crack again. Nah, he got put into the fence.
Speaker 8Oh, Professor Pateman. And then he just fell on the last cause he was so
Speaker 6exhausted. Yeah. That's,
Speaker 8that's probably the hardest beat that I've had to swallow. One that sticks out to me is Nashua Willer pushing nature strip four wide, no cover in an Everest, getting himself beat and then giga kick coming over the top. That hurt a lot.
Speaker 6Barney. I tried to put that in the background. I can't remember it.
Speaker 8What's bots top three seeds for the Caulfield cup at this point in time.
Speaker 7Cosmic crusader. Number one, of course, his favorite. Um, uh, yeah, I'm sure it's coming up. I don't know. I honestly don't know much about these horses. I'll figure it out on next Wednesday.
Speaker 8So who's the second best local behind.
Speaker 7Maybe cause no, I guess Saran, but he was awful.
Speaker 8Yeah, he was, he can be on spark. Uh, J Swiss is this year's Everest just a match race between Cain rising and tempted the rest of the horse in the field, uh, fairly underwhelming selections on a mattress. It's not a mattress.
Speaker 6No, it's over. It's a one. Oh, it's a one horse race. One horse race. All right. Yeah.
Speaker 8Fair enough. Fair enough. I think tempted is clearly the danger. Ryan Baldwin, um, worst beta of the year so far had a stack on ninja in the three yard guineas and I'll forever be pissed at that. Yeah. That's ninja and they're, they're, they're, they're my two winter ninja and war woven on the same day.
Speaker 6I'm still mentally in that near the mounting yard trying to reason with that idiot that was trying to tell me that the protest shouldn't have been upheld. I think I'm still. He's lucky that he didn't end up on the bloody bitumen.
Speaker 8I think I was down 50 units on Magic Millionaire's Day. Darren Barber, Everest, Calcutta at the Royal Oak. Any male if it's a goer? Did you go to that? Have you been to an Everest, Calcutta? Darren Barber? We went to one last year. Is that still on the Friday night beforehand? Yeah, it's at the Royal Oak. Yeah, that's what he's saying. So that's probably still
Speaker 6on. Should be. It'll be advertised. Kubrow was getting the Armour Guard
Speaker 8truckie out for Jigsaw. Also thoughts on Superbeck race too. Didn't rate very well last start but was visually dominant for the Malua team.
Speaker 7I thought that race was disgusting but I mean if that horse. Superbeck is actually one of the better bred horses in Australia. Just it's not. For its breeding it's a bit of a squib, no offence. But. Well it is. It's by Kingman out of Daughter of Moss Fun I think so it should, you know, it should be Milo but can't. Breeding. Yeah. It's pretty limited but if it's ever going to win a race like that it'd be on Saturday because it's a weak race.
Speaker 8Yeah. Bailey Green if Birdman wins does he go to the top seed for the Cox Plate? Probably have to say
Speaker 7yes. Yes, of course. If he beats Shoes Alibi on Saturday he'd be.
Speaker 8Yeah. Yeah, he's favourite for the Cox Plate alright. Isaac, Ben on Car Ying, Nico on Ninja, Botter on Savvy Halley. Who wins over a thousand metres? What? Obviously me. On Car Ying.
Speaker 7Oh, are they talking about racing weights? Yeah.
Speaker 8I think they're just talking about who would win the race. Craig Jones, when is the Six Horse Challenge back? That will be back in a couple of weeks on Bet365. I'm going to talk to Zach about that actually when it is back officially. Puntin Beers, what are the chances of a Racing Previews live show on Melbourne Cup Eve coming down from the Goldie? Would love to see that. See it happen. Maybe no drink spills this time. Well, we can tell you where we'll be. We won't be having a live show ourselves. However, we will be going to the core of the car during the day and we'll be going to the Rising Sun Hotel that night. For the Giddy Up
Speaker 6CN Track Calcutta.
Speaker 8Melbourne Cup Calcutta run by.
Speaker 6Hosted by Gareth and Milo.
Speaker 8Yep. It's a great day every year.
Speaker 6It's a great event. Yep. We'll be there.
Speaker 8And if you want to come down. Come down and have a beer? It won't be a live Racing Previews show but you'll be able to come down and we can have a beer. We'll take over. We'll just. Nathan Burkett, what's the beef between Benny Scarfe and Nico? There's no beef there. Nah. He was slightly taking the piss out of you for the video but.
Speaker 6Fair enough. That video is one of the best things ever. People just have relevance. That's just what we do. We just talk to each other. Admire each other's work. That's just how it goes.
Speaker 8Diamond, after the Caulfield Guineas, does he go to the Spring Champion two weeks or three weeks into the Derby in your
Speaker 7opinion? He'll go to the. I don't know. Maybe he goes to the Vars. I don't think he'll stay. He's a miler. He won't go 1600 straight 25 in a Derby. No. No way. He's actually a half-turb cylinder. Yeah. Yeah. He'd buy Brazen Bow. He won't stay. He's a miler.
Speaker 8Who are the best International Melbourne Cup hopes? Look, we probably haven't really dusted up our form just yet. Ryan Patton, where are we at with the Racing Previews merch? I imagine we're at the final stages. Or must we hire a work experience kid at Racing Previews HQ who isn't name-bought to get us over the line? Nico, any update there? With the merch?
Speaker 6Yeah. Oh, you
Speaker 8speak to Zach. So, in other words, no
Speaker 6progress. Well, I've got stuff in the background, but I've also. Yeah. There'll be merch come a time. Let's just get through the spring first and we'll be there.
Speaker 8We'll make sure we have
Speaker 6it before Waterloo. There you go.
Speaker 8Is it just me or do more favourites tend to win in WA compared to the Eastern States?
Speaker 6Grapes placed a bit
Speaker 8in WA. Not sure if there's any sort of solid evidence of that, but what I will say is that there's more good and firm tracks in Western Australia than the Eastern States, which can mean the form runs straighter. Sammy T, Benny, Will, Nico, what's your top two players of the day? Help the punters out. Spewing the podcast multi last week didn't help. I'm Lindemann and Jigsaw. You are? Ronald Waltz and Lindemann. Sauvage and Pinhole. There you go. Make something out of that. Mondo Brown, part-time punter here. Can Fireball miss win the last at
Speaker 7Caulfield? It can. It's first up after an Oaks, so it's probably more of a Oh, look, I'm probably not, no. Sorry.
Speaker 8Goon, would you take $500,000 to never place a bet on anything again? Probably not.
Speaker 7What is that, $500,000? $500,000. Oh, I could do that easy.
Speaker 8Oh. No, I'd rather
Speaker 6punt. That would be hard to be honest.
Speaker 8Like $500,000 or $500,000? It's not like, I mean, it's
Speaker 6Or enjoy your life.
Speaker 8$500,000, like you'll burn that on a house.
Speaker 7Give me like a couple, like 10 mil. I could do it easy. I'd do the form for fun.
Speaker 8Yeah, like give me seven figures at least and we're talking. $500,000, no. Skinner, does beating K and rising in a trial warrant a $5.5 million valuation? Hashtag overs. No, it does not.
Speaker 6I hope they got a free photo frame with their purchase price.
Speaker 8On a footy trip Thursday to Sunday, would love a mug multi to cheer home across the days. Yep, get on the podcast multi. And Sabaj. Odds against says the Trombolt blind-raised Quinella to feed generations. That's exactly what Nico is tipping. What's this? He said the blind-raised Trombolt Quinella to feed generations.
Speaker 6That'd be great.
Speaker 8Nick Stone says Nico needs to lift. He spelt it with a K as well.
Speaker 7Don't do that.
Speaker 8Evan Katsanos, give us a speculative futures multi. Oh, God.
Speaker 7You don't need to do futures multis. There's good racing every
Speaker 8fucking Saturday. Lindemann, Sheezer, Autumn Glow, K and rising, Kalanigan to win the 2027 arc. Olly Middleman, what's the incentive for Cornwall to choose Giga Kick over St.
Speaker 7Goddard? St. Goddard's not
Speaker 8very good. Well, I think St. Goddard, they've put all their chips into winning the Cornwall. So, I don't think they want to run in the Everest.
Speaker 6There's a fair reason why a lot of horses don't want to run in the Everest, because they've got no fucking chance of beating K and rising.
Speaker 8Giga Kick's getting the blinkers on first time at start 27. Watch out.
Speaker 6That worked for. He could improve a little bit. Well, he'd need to. He might improve from 12th to
Speaker 87th. Yeah. George Megas, Chayawolf beats Autumn in the King Charles. Come back to this. When he does. Thoughts? It's not completely far-fetched. I think he'll be too good. We've got a question from James Lewin. It's not a bad one. A question for tonight. We'd be keen to understand how you guys price a market to 100%. Are you doing it off the expected rating?
Speaker 7Yeah, you just put, like, numbers on what horse. Like, you put a number that you think the horse is going to run, and the computer figures it out. Yeah, basically.
Speaker 8Of course, there's a lot of opinion involved in that, but yes, we are. Using expected rating, and Bot and I do that off Form King. Next question. Hamish Robb, CC getting to the CC. Yeah, I love that. Will it get the 2,400 metres, and is half yours a better bet at $10?
Speaker 6Half yours is a great bet at $10.
Speaker 8But I think. Rain around next week. Cosmic Crusader just has to
Speaker 7be favourite. Yeah. What weight does half yours get? 57. 57 and a half. Can't win. Wow.
Speaker 8I've got a $26 ticket. Now I'm crying. You can't win. Damon, Winley, how many stitches did Glennie receive after falling back on his sword?
Speaker 7He hasn't backed down. I think it's good value, Glennie. He makes. It is fine.
Speaker 8All four people with opinions. Well written, pulled up with the thumbs, boys. Forgive.
Speaker 7Forgive file. Thumbs are just, um, like hiccups, isn't it? Thumbs are just hiccups, isn't it? Is it? I don't know. I thought it was more. Oh, coughing. I don't know. I actually don't know what the thumps are.
Speaker 6It's a genuine excuse, but I just don't think she's as good as. I thought it was more a regular heartbeat. I could be wrong. I don't know.
Speaker 8Yeah, anyway. Uh, Arif Mutil.
Speaker 6She was up against it, to be honest.
Speaker 8Who do we like in the tour? I reckon, why is it Tudor Undiscreet? Any chance? Sabaj. You're not going to give him anything?
Speaker 7Oh, I like, um, I think Tudor Undiscreet is an absolute certainty to win the Matriarch. Yep, there you go.
Speaker 8That's giving him something. Rich, uh, Mitch Riddle. It's actually Rich Middle, his, um, username. Is Sotono Glow as good a rounder, Ben, as she is down the straight? She's two for two down the Flemington straight. And fourth rounder, Ben, in Sydney.
Speaker 7Well, she was held up pretty badly that time she was, went around a bend. That was sickening.
Speaker 6But I. She won't be winning on Saturday.
Speaker 8I do think the straight helps her, especially that pattern, if she's, like, worse in midfield. She's drawn Barry 10 this week. Paradoxium has drawn two. And we'll beat her. She, she's going to give him a head start, so she's going to want to be good. Uh, Will Hansik. She's into Glow, into Kying, into She's of the Lock of All Locks. Yes. Um, Snake Pinnis Pod. I'm sorry, mate. I don't know what these races are that you're speaking about. Lenora Cup. Dylan Saw. Are we backing Trombolt on his current form? Uh, heading third up. Yes, we are. Tom. Pomerzel. I've messed that name up. When's the podcast multi going to hit, boys? Got monthly bills to pay. We end the streak on Saturday.
Speaker 6Fucking hit two weeks ago.
Speaker 8Look, there has been a couple losing ones. Let's be honest. But it's still positive ROI.
Speaker 6It's not going to win every week.
Speaker 8If you back the podcast multi every week. every week, you will win money overall. We can guarantee it. Is it common to not?
Speaker 6You can't guarantee it. We can guarantee it. It will. It will be profitable. If you back it every week, you will be in profit.
Speaker 8The odds we get bought, if we start losing, we're going to have to go, she's alibi into Autumn Glow.
Speaker 6I had this discussion with someone last week. Like, you only cop drive-bys about the podcast multi-losing from people that pick and choose when they back it.
Speaker 8Yeah, you've got to do it every week.
Speaker 6You've got to be consistent with it. You're either all in or you're not in at all.
Speaker 8Yeah. That's the same with even like the top four multi that we do on a Friday. You've got to do it every week.
Speaker 6If you pick and choose, of course you're going to be-
Speaker 8Because it's only going to win once every four weeks, once a month probably.
Speaker 6Yeah. Ben. Statistically, if you've backed it every week, you are in front.
Speaker 8Ben Zimont. Thanks for the tips last week in the Turnbull chaps. Cotat Lantique in the wet, huge. I think we got the Turnbull wrong, but yeah, Cotat Lantique, that was a great win.
Speaker 6Gator was all over Cotat Lantique. So was I. Thank you very much.
Speaker 8Thank you. Ishak Bashir, Nico Hogreville, no warming up allowed. Straight out the ice bath.
Speaker 6That is very much just, I won't say what I want to say.
Speaker 8Lincoln Morgan. Lincoln Morgan, why is Craig riding Tron Bolt?
Speaker 7Because J-Mac was given the tap on the shoulder and was told that he- What's his name?
Speaker 8The guy who owns Coolmore in Australia? Mr. Magneer? Yeah, Tom Magneer. Tom Magneer. Yeah, J-Mac has a contract with Coolmore. He obviously gets a cut of all the stallion sort of sellings once they go to studs. So he rides the Coolmore horses in stallion making races. We've seen it with Wotan. We've seen it with Best of Bordeaux. We've seen it with Home Affairs, heaps of horses. Darcy Daly. How many beers would have been thrown at Bed Malm if- A lot. If what's it, what was it called? Skybird. And what was the second call? Smooth Chino. Smooth Chino. If Chino had won that, many, he would have been in trouble. Last two fellows, Coops Irwin. Is there another track that has as many races with a part of the track's name in, like Rosehill? The Might and Power has got- Sorry, first question and second question. Is there another track that has as many race with it in, uh, with the name like Rosehill does? Like Rosehill Gold Cup, Rosehill Guineas? Who knows? And who cares? Not sure? Sorry, Coops. That's a shit question. This one is a better one. The Might and Power has got odds on pop beat in the last two years. Is that any concern for she's a alibi?
Speaker 6Here we go. Historical data. Feeding. No, it doesn't make a difference.
Speaker 8But small fields, can that correlate to tactically run races, slowly run races?
Speaker 6Of course, but each race is on its merits and she's a freak and she'll win by three.
Speaker 8Yeah. I agree with that. But I do think sometimes small fields can make weird temptations. We saw Globe just lead and win last year and, um, yeah, Treasure of the Moment and Co weren't able to catch her under that race shape. She should win though. All right, let's wrap up the podcast there. Thank you very much for tuning in. It's been a long one, but hopefully it's been a good one. There's plenty of winners to be found there. Caulfield Guineas Day, truly one of the great days on the Australian racing calendar. You win some, you lose more. For free and confidential support, visit gamblinghelponline.org.au.
