Canada Turns the Screws on Trump

The transcript covers a range of consumer and political topics, including home window treatments offered by Blinds.com with strong customer reviews and discounts, and Fan Duel’s expanded U.S. availability. Mint Mobile promotes affordable mobile plans, while Shopify supports small business startups with essential tools. A central theme is the contrast between Canada’s stable, forward-looking leadership under Prime Minister Carney and the U.S. under Donald Trump, highlighted by Trump’s press bans, false claims about media, and aggressive foreign policies. Canada’s productivity tax initiative is presented as a smart, targeted policy that boosts business investment. On health, Roe emphasizes the affordability of FDA-approved GLP-1 treatments, making them accessible through insurance or low-cost cash plans. The narrative underscores a broader message: economic stability, transparency, and inclusive governance are key to national strength, contrasting sharply with claims of repression and misinformation from U.S. leadership. Each segment highlights practical solutions and policy choices that reflect values of trust, affordability, and national resilience.

At the Liberal Party Caucus meeting in advance of some of the ambitious parliamentary goals that Prime Minister Carney has. He gave an incredible press conference where he was mocking Donald Trump. He was doing the accordion hands. He was calling out Donald Trump's big, beautiful bill. And Prime Minister Carney said, we didn't need a big, beautiful bill. We needed actually plans that work here in Canada. I want to show you. What went down. I'll show you what Prime Minister Carney did. And then I want to give you the split screen. Cause while Prime Minister Carney was delivering this speech, you had Donald Trump in the oval office behaving like a lunatic banning members of the press from covering him anymore in the White House. You had Donald Trump bragging about how repressive the United States is. So let me just show you what went down here. You have Prime Minister Carney doing the accordion hands and mocking Trump. Watch for yourself. Let's play it. It's the functional equivalent of 18 Hoover dams, 18 Hoover dams. Enough to light, heat and cool, light, heat, cool. Every home in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver combined. Prime Minister Carney then said that Canada made the right decision. A month ago by suspending our negotiations with the United States. No deal is better than a bad deal here. Play this clip last month. We made the right decision to suspend our negotiations with the United States. And. And I want to thank. And I want to thank all of you, all your constituents and Canadians across the country, because we knew as we were in those negotiations what the priorities of Canadians were. We knew what the values of Canadians are. It wasn't tough to draw the red lines. So they offered too little. We couldn't accept it. They asked too much. We wouldn't give it. Now, when the U.S. is ready to return to the bargaining table, we will come there ready to strike the deal in good faith, one that respects our sovereignty, protects, not just protects, promotes our official languages and our culture. And one that fundamentally does what we know is possible, which is to promote jobs and growth on both sides of the border. You know, when I think about what Prime Minister Carney is saying there at the same time, Donald Trump posted one of these like gigantic truth social posts where he's like, look at the deal that I did with Greenland and Denmark. Look at everything we're going to get. Denmark keeps its sovereignty. U.S. keeps broad rights to operate military facilities in Greenland. That's what the 1951 deal said, where Denmark keeps sovereignty. U.S. gets broad rights to operate military facilities in Greenland. So it's basically the same thing. But I guess the new part is blocking adversarial military activity that wasn't occurring. But then Donald Trump desperately wants to do business with Russia. And you have Russia. Now threatening all of Europe, according to European officials who say that they're essentially preparing for an all out war in the coming weeks and months. And so, all right, Donald, you want to brand the 1951 deal your deal. In any event, you had Donald Trump in the Oval Office while Prime Minister Carney was giving that speech. Trump said, if Democrats win the midterms, we will now have a Great Depression. This is the motivation of an actual lunatic. Here, play this clip. If the Republicans win, we're going to have a lot of money. If the Democrats win, we're going to go into a depression. Now we need to clearly cleanse this YouTube video. After that, Prime Minister Carney then said that, look, the Liberal Party in Canada will work whenever we can with members across the aisle because we want a strong Canada. And that requires us working together. Play this clip. And our responsibility is to bring. The energy I feel in this room that I know you all possess to bring the best ideas to Parliament to represent the priorities and the concerns of each of our constituents and of all Canadians to engage with all stakeholders and to work whenever we can with members across the aisle because we're all here to make the greatest. country in the world even greater. Do you see the contrast right there? Prime Minister Carney talks about how financial markets are basically voting. Who's reliable? Who's stable? And he said what they're saying. Canada is predictable, stable and a great place to still do business. Well, just look at those Treasury yields in the United States. We're now seeing financial markets. It's starting to change the pricing, literally, as we meet today, the cost of borrowing for governments around the world to separate the strong from the weak. We are the strong. We are Canada's strong. Most people assume GLP-1s cost a fortune, and that assumption keeps them from even looking into the treatment. But the reality is GLP-1 medications may be more affordable and accessible than people realize. Roe helps people find more affordability. If you're looking for more affordable path to FDA approved GLP-1 treatment, whether that's through insurance coverage or cash pay options, Roe wants to help people lose weight. That's why they have some of the lowest cost GLP-1 options out there, whether you're paying with insurance or cash. Roe's free insurance checker will send you a comprehensive report of your coverage details so you can make the best decision that's right for your goals. And if insurance doesn't cover treatment, there are still options. Roe offers the lowest cost cash pay. qualify, that's dot co slash Midas to get started on Roe. For side effects of GLP-1 medications, including boxed warning, go to Roe.co slash safety. Roe.co slash safety. Now Donald Trump in the Oval Office said, we got to put our name on the Kennedy Center. We've got to etch it. We got to do it or else. I mean, again, lunatic. That goes around suing everybody to stop progress. But if we're going to save the Kennedy Center, I think the Trump administration should be given recognition for doing so. Donald Trump then claims the United Nations intentionally shut down the escalator and teleprompter on him last year because they really don't like him and they were being so unfair and mean to him. Fortunately, my first lady was very strong and I was able to grab her back or another part of her body. It was actually a little bit lower than the back and it kept me standing tall. I was standing very tall. But do you remember I was going up in the and it came to a dead stop. And this was I built a lot of escalators. I put in a lot of escalators. You can have some beauties right over here, but they don't do that unless somebody wants. And then I got up to make my speech like a little baby, a little baby boy. No offense to baby boys, then Donald Trump says, he was asked a question. Well, do you think that this is an authoritarian regime or that? Trump goes, we're authoritarian. He goes, in the United States, we're repressive. I guess that was his one moment of candor, saying the silent part out loud, or I guess the loud part even louder. I think we're repressive also. We get fake news. We don't we don't repress, but they write fake news. No, I think he's going to come. We get along very well. It's nice that we. Then when it came to Iran, Donald Trump, the war's going to end soon. You know what? They won't. And the war's going to end soon. And when it ends, your gas prices are going to drop to a level that they were before, maybe even lower. When I left Iowa just before. Back to Prime Minister Carney, who talks about productivity and their mega deduction initiative. He's like, we didn't need a big, beautiful bill. We needed smart, targeted play. Earlier this week, we announced the productivity mega deduction. It lets businesses write off a far wider. Yes, yes. Far wider range of investments. Fiber optic cable, mining properties, energy, rail, aircraft, vehicles, manufacturing equipment, much more. The result is that the effective tax rate on new investment. This is what matters for business. The effective tax rate on new investment. Will be the lowest of any major economy in the world. Less than half the rate of the United States. We didn't need a big, beautiful bill. We needed a targeted initiative. More from Prime Minister Carney talking about how Canada is meeting a decisive moment for the Canadian people in their country, in history. Play this clip. We are meeting at a decisive moment for our country. And I think we also have a sense. I know from talking to all of you, I know from going around Canada with, with you, we have a sense that over the course of the past year and a half, something's changed in the country. We all feel it and we feel it everywhere. What it is, is coming together. Confidently choosing our future. While Donald Trump was banning reporters and saying, New York Times, you're banned, here, play this clip. Mr. President, what do you mean by others to come? And how is this going to do that? Others to come in terms of fake news? The New York Times has fake news. Washington Post has fake news. They're crummy papers. Both doing very poorly, by the way. But we'll see. We're probably not going to display the paper anymore in the White House, those papers. But we haven't taken the step of throwing them out. But they're fake news, totally. New York Times is so fake. Washington Post is disgusting. I mean, they're disgusting. I don't get it. Why would they be? You know, we're doing so well. And they'll take the most positive story and make it as negative as possible. Go ahead, please. No, no, please. And then Donald Trump was asked, so what does this ban mean? In practice, he's like, I ban, what ban? I ban you. I ban you. I deal with lots of bans. Yeah. Mr. President, Mr. President, on the ban, what does that mean in practice? Are you taking away their badges? Are you banning them from the pool? What does this actually mean? When you say the ban, which ban? You know, you don't have any bans. I'm involved and I got more bans going. I've got more bans going than it's going to be. On the fake news aspect, what does that mean in practice? Are you banning them from your office? I'm involved and I got more bans going than it's going to be. Are you banning them from your office?
