Can AI Make Us Better Thinkers? with Mohamed Nabil

The conversation with Muhammad Nabil explores the role of AI in fostering critical thinking and addressing societal challenges. Nabil introduces AI-DOP, a method where he publishes debates between himself and AI to critique his own ideas, promoting transparency and intellectual humility. He contrasts this with blind elitism and ignorant populism, advocating for "enlightened populism," where individuals investigate evidence and listen to multiple experts before forming conclusions. He argues that AI, if used correctly, can sharpen thinking by challenging beliefs, but warns against over-reliance that leads to mental passivity. In education, he suggests students submit AI debate sessions to demonstrate understanding rather than using AI to complete assignments. Politically, Nabil proposes replacing representative democracies with direct democracy, enabled by technology, and envisions a unified global government to tackle issues like climate change, pandemics, and billionaire influence. He advocates for taxing billionaires out of existence, funding basic human rights such as shelter, food, education, healthcare, and internet access. He emphasizes the importance of individual willingness to question oneself and use tools like incognito browsing and AI-driven debates to avoid echo chambers. Finally, he suggests that technology should reduce working hours, allowing people time to engage in critical thinking and democratic participation. His vision centers on using AI not for efficiency alone but for wisdom and truth-seeking.

Hello everyone, welcome back to the absolutely podcast and your host Abraham. We live in an age of endless information millions of opinions. Are grading shaping with already? Are grading shaping what we see at Fischer intelligence answering questions in seconds, but here's a re-question. Is technology making us think more deeply or simply making it easier to stop them? What if AI wasn't just a tool for productivity, but a partner for challenging our belief, refining our idea and searching for truth? Welcome to the 95 edit plan for the customer and partnership with Fischer. For today's conversation is about AI, critical thinking, the future of democracy, education and how technology might reshape the way we think. A wonderful, wonderful guess for today is Marmaid Nabil, also Susha Innovator and creator of AI, DOP, AI debate on one's publication, actually. The rather than asking AI to validate his idea, Marmaid does something unusual. He asks it to challenge them. He publish on edit debates between himself and AI to encourage transparency, critical thinking and intellectual honesty. He's also the author of multiple books, including a light send, probably. And the philosophy called debates with AI, my interview with Chargity and Humanities Money, he works as a blogger at the Science and Engineering, philosophy, government education and the future of humanity. One made your work onto the 95 edit plan. Thank you for having me, it's a budget. Thank you so much for coming and showing my mind. I'm one made forget to remain conversation. I would love it if you chose to be the part yourself. I feel like I made for the individual. I'm an author and independent philosopher with three main pillars to my philosophy. I created the AI, DOP or AIDAP, which stands for AI debates on one's publications. As you mentioned, it involves a content creator from the AI tool to criticize their own content and publishing the entire analysis of the transfer of back and forth organizations in 24 hours of the exchange. I codified enlightened populism as a behavior pattern of communication. I'm healthy, I'm torrentive to blind elitism and ignorant populism. We can get into that later. And thirdly, I'm advocating for the establishment of a unified global government to be ruled by hyperlocal citizens of some reason. Wow, wonderful, wonderful one. So now, what's inspired you to create AI DOP, where AI openly could cross your own idea instead of simply supporting them? Well, I believe ideas and books are that if they are not openly discussed and debated. So I started waiting for long years for people to discuss my ideas and discover what's good or bad about them. I accelerated the process by using AI to criticize my own content. So I'm at it based on radical transparency and intellectual humility. You are effectively inviting readers to your own lab, your own process, allowing them to follow the reasoning behind your conclusions instead of accepting them blind. Oh, wonderful, wonderful response. So now you introduce the concept of aligning populism. What does that mean? And why do you believe the word needs it today? A 19-prochalism is a behavior pattern of communication that involves listening to multiple experts, trying to understand how they reach certain conclusions and investigating the information to the truth. It contrasts with the two dominant behavior patterns of communication in today's world, blind deletism, which entails blindly following an expert or an elite on a certain issue, and ignorant populism, which also involves the absence of investigation while relying on feelings or trends. So enlightened populism is highly needed in today's world because we live in a world full of information, disinformation, misinformation, all types of data around us and we need to make evidence-based decisions. So instead of following a certain expert or an elite blindly or following a trend or a feeling, we can investigate for the truth ourselves. No one has an monopoly on the truth yet we can make evidence-based decisions. We can investigate for the truth. We can listen to multiple experts, try to understand how they reach certain conclusions and investigate the information to the truth ourselves. Okay, okay, an absolutely wonderful answer, more amazing. Slinging or many people use AI to get answers, you use it to ask the better question, why is that distinguished? Well, I believe these AI tools have the sum of human knowledge. Currently they are poor at creating something new yet they can act as the bait partners or for the soft-cali partner efficiently because they have been trained on huge data sets. They can, they know the consensus among established social sciences and humanities and cultural norms and stuff like that. So they can actively criticize any point of view you may have and they can help you sharpen your own mind. The goal of these debates is to improve the main objectives including just testing ideas through AI effectively making them sharper by responding to criticism, refining one's own hopes, simply accepting criticism as valid or agreeing to disagree on certain points, inviting readers to explore the mechanisms of the whole process instead of simply asking them to accept conclusions and documenting where AI tools stand at the time of publication. Wow, amazing, amazing restfuls, so now you know, do you believe AI has the potential to improve education and physical thinking or could it make people more intellectually dependent? AI is just a tool that doesn't do anything on its own, it depends on how you use it. So in case of education, there is a panic in the educational system all over the world because due to the rise of other labs and AI tools, people think students are getting more aligned on these tools, relying on these tools to create assignments on their behalf and stuff like that. So this can be easily solved if computers can authorize these students to submit an AI and a DUP session at the end of each assignment and handle debates for their colleagues accordingly. As for critical thinking, it depends on how you use it within or without education. For critical thinking, it depends on your own use of the tool. So let's say you use it for idea generation or use it for ghost writing as a writer, or stuff like that. Over time you lose your ability to generate ideas on your own, your mind becomes numb. So that's a major issue. However, if you use it like I do, if you use it to criticize your own way of thinking, criticize your own opinions and beliefs, then it helps you sharpen your own ideas and at some point it may help you change your opinion about something. Sure, sure, all the authorize more amazing, amazing answer. So you know, have you have written extensively about democracy and citizenism? As citizenism, as an example, so the question is now, how do you imagine technology changing the way society governs themselves? Well, I believe we need to get rid of the represents of democracies and corrupt represents of democracies spread around the world and we need to replace them with direct democracy. We need to directly vote on issues instead of voting for someone to vote on our behalf. So we need to govern ourselves through citizen assemblies and technology will enable us to investigate multiple policies and investigate information before making a decision. So as for my proposal, the kind of word government that I, the term "corposing" is shall introduce basic human rights such as shelter access to clean water and food, education, healthcare, freedom of expression, freedom of movement and stable speed internet connections. So the role of technology into this world and why we need stable speed internet connections because you can solve the problems of the 21st century relying on tools of the 19th century. We need tools of the day to face the issues of the day. Amazing, amazing response, my med. So now you know, one of your more ambitious ideas is to invite global governments. You know, what's the problem do you believe that could solve? And what's going to do critics? What's going on to critics usually raise, usually raise actually? Well, the unified global government will solve multiple problems. We have the main problems we have today and in the future are recurring, potentially recurring pandemics, climate change and billionaires breed, whether billionaires breed water represent the child labor in Congo or wars spread all over the world or the AI taking over our jobs and stuff like that. So all of these issues belong to the trained men umbrellas. The billionaires breed, climate change and potentially recurring pandemics. So these can be resolved through, we can face these issues through a unified global government relying on cooperation between human beings instead of the currently competitive, fragmented and nature-stained model. We can stand together and we can face climate change in terms of mitigation and adaptation, which is highly needed in today's world and in the future. And we can tax billionaires out of existence by setting up at $999 million and use the funds acquired through these measures and through abolishing moral kids and abolishing military industrial complexes to fund the basic human rights that Rathold do about. Wow, wow, wonderful answer, one minute. So you know, you advocate for universal assets to education, healthcare, food, clean water and internet connectivity as a basic human rights. Why do you see this? Why do you see these as essential foundation for humanity's future? I believe as human beings we have intrinsic value and we deserve a dignified life. So we can possibly have a dignified life without shelter access to clean water and food. Without proper education, we can't practice enlightenment populism. And spreading enlightenment populism is a prerequisite for the establishment of the global government with its citizens and assemblies. And without and we need healthcare because people get sick and that's the nature of things. And we need freedom of expression and freedom of movement. Otherwise, we will feel incarcerated within various fragmented regions around the world. And we need this stable speed internet connections because we need to be capable of investigating multiple issues to vote on dramatically instead of relying on someone else's vote on our behalf. Wow, incredible answer, wonderful, wonderful answer. You know, you have proof, we have proposed a global world card for billionaires. So the question is, what motivates that idea and how do you respond to those who argue it's called this courage innovation? Well, people don't maintain their position in the list of the billionaires around the world by following the rules. They maintain their positions by manipulating legislation. And this needs to stop. So they buy corrupt politicians around the world. And this is why we need to replace representatives of democracies, direct democracies and vote on our own issues for ourselves. And taxing them out of existence, people may think this will stop innovation. But if people think so, they can tell me what the billionaires innovate. So we can start an argument. As far as I know, when they discovered gravity, they didn't invent airplanes, they didn't invent internet connections, they didn't invent electricity. All of the major inventions or innovations that came for human beings came from mainly from the middle class. So billionaires as a class are utterly useless and I tackled this deeply in the book title, Humanities Money. Wow. Okay. You know, in today's world of misinformation and social media polarization actually, so how can individuals become better independent? Well, human beings need to have, first of all, they need to have the time, energy and the willingness to challenge their own thoughts and to investigate for the truth. So it mainly has to do with your own willingness to dive deeper and investigate for the truth. So if the intention is there, you can deal with social media differently, for instance, social media relies on personalization. It shows you content based on your historical interactions with the platform. So this has to do with confirmation bias over time. Yeah. And even search engines and LLM's can turn into echo chambers if not used wisely as they both rely on historical data of interactions. Using private incognito mode occasionally while submitting queries through multiple search engines and digging deep for multiple sources is advisable. Same goes for LLM's with the additional feature of intentionally getting into the bake with the LLM by prompting it to take a position opposing to yours. So you basically have your own set of opinions and beliefs and even get them on any issue and you can get them into feed them into an LLM and then ask the LLM to come up with the best criticism possible for these opinions and beliefs. I start going into back and forth argumentation to see which of your own ideas will survive the AI scrutiny and then judge for yourself which of your own ideas and beliefs you should maintain and which you should get rid of. Wow. Okay. Absolutely wonderful answer by Wayne Mohammed. So you know, as AI become increasingly powerful, what responsibility do human have to ensure its strengths and wisdom but are done simply increasing efficiency? Oh, it's a task knew how you use it. It's a contest with them in case you use it for critical thinking. In case you ask it to debate with you on various issues and this can be traced back to Greek philosophy for instance, you know the socratic method and dialogues of Plato, you had within dialogues of Plato, you had various people, some fictional, some real debating each other or multiple issues to come up with the truth or at least come close to the truth. So you can use the same socratic method with the tools of today. You have AI tools or LLM that can respond within a few seconds. and come up with multiple arguments or counter-arguments depending on how you prompt. So actively prompt it to challenge your wrong thoughts so you can enhance your own critical thinking over time and become a 'oiser person'. A 'oiser person' understands that they don't own the truth. They don't have them not only on the truth and they will have a reach of 100% of the truth and all issues. Wow okay okay so now on, this question about the 'oiser person' actually will be the last and final question for today. Five more answers are questions. I just want to say thank you so so much for coming and showing. I really appreciate your time today. And now we know this podcast is called '95 isn't planned so let's go ask if you could lead the entrepreneurs on future leaders with one principle of building a better world. What will you say to them? Well since you chose the '95 exit plan' I'd like to say that the future world government should introduce, should dramatically reduce working hours instead of the massive layoffs that are expected by the emerging technologies. So instead of these massive layoffs we can actually share the benefits of technology and dramatically reduce working hours for everyone. So we can have the time and energy to practice enlightened populism, become a very critical thinkers and be capable of investigating multiple issues to vote directly within certain assemblies. Wow okay okay so now I'm wondering if someone is in the 'oiser person' right now with this whole conversation as resident edit it or wants to get to know more about you, your work or just trying to get into a future. How can you find your? They can find me through my website. My books are available on Amazon and Google Play. [email protected]. And a-b-i-l.w-o-r-l-d. So be careful if you can add it to the show notes. Okay. Okay wonderful. And now to add to what my major said for anyone listening if you'd like to learn more about Muhammad Nable his book 'Publication' and the AI-Dub project receives MuhammadNable.ward. There you can explore this idea on AI philosophy, performance, education and the future of humanity. I might get to know myself Muhammad. Yes that's right. Okay wonderful. And now lastly, see on my guess, on my audience who are listening, you know, progress is not only about reading something. Smother is about building smarter machines. It's about becoming why is a person or people. No, learning to question, learning to listen, learning to think independently. To I know today's conversation reminds us that technology doesn't replace humanity judgments. It's changed us to improve. One may thank you so so much for coming to the show. I really appreciate your time. I'm going to show today and thank you for sharing your idea and challenging the way we think. Thank you very much for having me today. I enjoyed our composition. Oh thank you so so much. And now lastly, so my audience who are listening right now. Thank you all for being here. This has been a 95. It's a plan to podcast my conversation. It means we don't. I don't see you all in the next episode.

FAQs

AI-DOP stands for AI Debates on One's Publications. It involves a content creator asking an AI tool to criticize their own content, then publishing the full back-and-forth exchange within 24 hours to promote transparency and intellectual honesty.

Enlightened populism is a communication behavior pattern where individuals listen to multiple experts, understand how they reach conclusions, and investigate information to find the truth. It contrasts with blind elitism and ignorant populism, which lack investigation.

AI can improve critical thinking if used to challenge your own beliefs, such as prompting it to argue against your opinions. However, relying on it for ghostwriting or idea generation without scrutiny can numb your mind, so the outcome depends on your usage.

It's a proposal to replace representative democracies with direct democracy, where citizens vote on issues via assemblies. A global government would address transnational problems like climate change, pandemics, and billionaire influence through cooperation.

These rights enable a dignified life and are prerequisites for practicing enlightened populism. Education and internet access allow citizens to investigate issues independently and vote directly, while healthcare, food, and shelter meet fundamental needs.

Billionaires often manipulate legislation rather than innovate, and major inventions historically came from the middle class. Taxing them out of existence, with a cap like $999 million, could fund basic rights without harming genuine innovation.
