The podcast blends personal anecdotes, cultural observations, and heartfelt discussions on identity, relationships, and self-care. Hosts Benito Skinner and Mary Beth Barone explore a wide range of topics—from the emotional depth of Camila Cabello’s music and its impact on listeners to the personal significance of skincare routines and beauty products. They reflect on relationship anxiety, particularly relationship OCD, highlighting how vulnerability and self-awareness are crucial in building healthy connections. The conversation is laced with humor and candidness, touching on everyday experiences like grocery store frustrations, the absurdity of consumer habits, and the joy of simple pleasures such as nut butter. A strong theme emerges around individuality, self-acceptance, and the courage to embrace personal preferences—even when they defy norms. From music and fashion to food and social behavior, the hosts celebrate authenticity, creativity, and the power of small, meaningful choices. The episode concludes with a joyful, unapologetic commitment to personal passions, notably the love of nut butters and the celebration of queer expression in media and everyday life. Throughout, the tone is warm, inclusive, and deeply human, reflecting a shared journey of self-discovery and connection.
The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
I'm Benito Skinner.
I'm Mary Beth Barone.
And this is Rhyme.
Could you close your eyes and pretend my body's your ego?
We could go all night long if it's not about me.
Though if you want to know something, I sit left on my waist.
What's up?
That's A-B-T.
That's actually ego.
Oh, that's ego.
What's the A-lister one?
We should reach for the stars.
And if we get it, I want more.
What's the sun on its face?
Romy Mars.
Romy Mars, you have our attention.
We don't have many heroes in battle, but we have her.
And we also have, I think he's got a girl.
Girl.
Oh.
I think he's got a girl.
Sorry, that just dropped.
So I'm.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
It did, right?
So, like, poor women who have to be around gay guys.
Well, I'm like.
That just dropped, right?
Wait, someone said that you're like.
You're like a sound.
Like, you're like a sound machine that wished to be a human.
It's so true.
I didn't know.
I'm like, what is that?
Like, Clogsworth?
Like, I feel like I'm getting away with it, though.
Clogsworth.
I think I'm getting away with it.
Oh, barely.
Oh.
I had this straight friend in college, and he had the funniest.
I don't.
I haven't seen him in years.
Was it Kelvin Millions?
No.
No, it wasn't, actually.
I love him.
Kelvin, if you're watching.
It was this guy, and he had this theory that High School Musical was actually made by aliens,
and it's them trying their best to be what humans are.
I love that.
But they didn't quite get it.
They didn't quite get it.
And I do agree.
I have some friends like that.
They're close.
Oh, absolutely.
They're not quite.
They're not.
You're passing the Turg test for me.
There's at least five people that we share in common that I'm like, I'm not, hmm.
You know, like Blade Runner replicants?
Totally.
That's all I'm saying.
And that can be so scary.
Yes.
But that's new Slater I was singing.
She's on a generational run of singles right now.
It's like, it's honestly like, it's hard to keep up with.
I know, because each one is good.
But it's not because I don't want to.
It's just because when I like a song, I'm going to listen to it upwards of 1,000 times.
I know.
Like, when I made you a playlist.
I was like, she's going to be with these songs for five years.
I'm listening to that playlist weekly still.
You're still on Melodrama.
I'm still on Melodrama, okay.
Seriously, you look really beautiful today.
Thank you.
Did you do this makeup?
Well, I'll tell you, but we'll bleep it.
It was my.
Well, hey, you passed.
Thanks, honey.
Let me grade it A+.
A+.
Who did it?
While we're talking.
I'll tell you after.
Cool.
While we're talking about music.
I almost said dinner.
But while we're talking about music, I did.
I'm engaging more with straight male culture lately just to like observe them and see what
makes them tick.
Like, hey, I'm sick of all these whores dressing up in A-load.
That's my monologue for SNL.
SNL.
When did bitches get so bitchy?
That's me doing it.
When did the bitches become whores?
So when did these bitches turn into cunts?
And then I beat off.
Yeah.
And you cum.
You ejaculate.
Of course I cum.
You go to completion and it doesn't matter how long it takes.
Yeah, that's right.
So I went to something for the more gentle.
To him, I say get hard.
Oh, you know that he finished that monologue and he got to the SNL after party.
And behind him, he heard, is this seat taken?
Daddy.
Daddy was there.
Daddy had so much to say to him.
Yeah.
And it should be a fly on the wall.
She had pressed white strips in.
At Cipriani.
On the water.
Well, she didn't know that she had to do that.
But then she watched SNL and she's like, fuck, I already have my pressed white strips in.
She threw on a lip combo and the boots.
She put a lip combo on.
She put on her Uggs to the roast beast.
And she hit the, she hit the pavement and he had a crazy night that night.
Needless to say, I went to see the Cameron Winters at Carnegie Hall screening for New York Film Festival.
So Paul Thomas Anderson plucked this guy, Cameron Winters from Obscurity.
He's the lead singer of Geese.
And Cameron Winters.
Geese is so straight.
This is not really.
I had never heard a Geese song before.
Yeah.
But this was his solo work.
It was just him and a piano at Carnegie Hall.
I was genuinely so moved by this, by the whole experience.
I actually was crying.
The lyrics are incredible.
First of all, I just want to say, incredibly gifted songwriter.
But just the fact that a bunch of humans came together on a Thursday night at a giant theater to watch a performance that was done previously and shot on film.
Just like, I don't know.
You know, when you have those moments where you just go like, humans are so cute.
Oh, yeah.
That everybody felt like they should just like put on a little outfit and go to that screening.
And I went with Sydney Washington and we ran into Andy DeYoung at the screening as well.
I didn't know it was Legends Night.
It was Legends Night.
And I really like the music because they released it as an album and I'm really enjoying it.
So I just wanted to say that like, there are some good male singers out there.
I don't know anything about him personally, but I enjoyed participating in this thing that I did.
Well, Sombra has one song that I heard in an Uber with six gay guys.
I couldn't tell you.
I like 12 to 12 and Homewrecker.
So it wasn't either of those, if I had to say.
But there's one where it's like, I'm trying to think of the chorus.
Do you know the Sombra?
The Sombra of it all?
The Sombra verse?
Are you familiar with the Sombra verse?
So do you know the Sombra verse, sister?
But so male singers are interesting to me.
We'll see.
Hey, we're dipping our toe in and the water's warm.
We'll see.
I'm not ready to dive in headfirst just yet.
Well, Straight Guys, I feel like really love Phoebe Bridgers.
I'm correct in that, right?
That's the something we can all agree on.
So maybe that's as close.
It's kind of, yeah, it's like she's like the one unifying thing.
That album, I'll ride for it.
In 2040.
17 years.
Because holy shit.
My friends went to a wedding and the dress code was Aloha Formal.
I just wanted to put that in front of you.
The concept of Aloha Formal was something I just thought could be really powerful.
Well, Aloha Formal, immediately I'm seeing linen.
I'm seeing florals, but in a different way.
I'm seeing woven belts, woven shoes.
I'm seeing slick buns.
Yes.
Are we balding more because of the slick buns?
I wonder if a dermatologist. A dermatologist could just stitch this and see what they could find.
Because it just seems like those are really tight.
They definitely have, yeah.
And might I say, I would do it every day.
Headache.
That's what it looks like.
I got a really, I had it for a whole day the other week and I got a headache that was really bad.
My just like immediately I'm saying Aloha, let's leave it a little loose.
Let's let the curls out.
Let's have a little fun.
Feel the rain on your skin.
Yes.
What is, what, why does it make people so angry when men wear flip flops?
It's just something that I don't personally care about.
Not that much.
But it seems to be like, it's like there's two types of people.
The people that care in London.
Well, people get political about it.
What is the politics there?
So it's funny.
It is something I was trying.
I wore them to a few places in London and they were commented on a lot.
And I was like. It's a shoe.
I have one thing and this is, this is spa privilege.
But let's get the pedicure if you're going to have the dogs out all the time.
Totally take care of them, yeah.
Let's take care of them.
But I, I don't know.
I'm finding I care about so little.
Yeah.
Like as far as things that really just irk me.
It doesn't irk me.
I'm not noticing.
But the one thing I'm finding is that I walk into a CVS and I'm not a good person anymore
because of waiting for them to unlock those cages.
And thank you for bringing this up.
Give me the toner.
Give me the, I'm like, I'm sorry.
There's no way you're losing enough money for this to be.
And I'm, the people come and I know I've already talked about this,
but the people working there come over and I feel so awful that they have to spend all day
being the keeper of the keys.
I know.
It's crazy.
Here's what I'll, I'll meet you with, which is that I went to Stanford a couple of weekends ago.
Is it raw?
It's like this, the products can roam free around the store.
They feel so good.
They feel good.
And sometimes they can be placed elsewhere.
They're, what's it when they like, it's like free range.
It's like the chickens that they raise.
Well, sort of.
Yeah, the purge.
But it's like when chickens are raised like ethically or whatever,
it's like that's the products at the suburbs, CVS.
Like they just get to do what they want.
No.
When I was in Idaho, like during Christmas.
And I drove a car, I loaded up, I spent a couple hundred dollars.
I bought a curling iron because I didn't have that size barrel.
And guess what?
I just, I just picked it right off the shelf.
And it, I, I actually thought about, it was a premeditated CVS trip.
Cause I go, I'm going to the suburbs this weekend.
I get to drive my mom's Lexus to CVS.
Oh my God.
Put a bunch of stuff, self-checkout, no problem.
I'd go like this to the native section and dump them.
Even though it's not, I don't know if it's totally working for my.
I just think like if you live in a city and you have any,
any trips planned this fall, stop at a CVS and just like feel your fantasy.
Shoe tips are behind the fucking glass.
Makeup wipes.
It's just crazy.
Makeup wipes.
There's actually nothing that's not.
It's, it's unbelievable.
And the one right by you.
It's the worst CVS in the country.
They say it's up at the register.
I've been to them all.
And it's the worst.
Well, that's the one where also I went to the allergies and she said,
I actually just don't have the key for this.
And we both just started laughing.
Cause you have to laugh.
We were like, well, that's incredible.
So you're not going to move any of those units is my thing.
So that's just kind of locked down at this point.
It's a museum.
It's a museum of products.
It's an exhibit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, honey, I'm at the rock and roll hall of fame.
It's a free exhibit.
Yes.
Pay zero dollars to enter.
So I, if I had to die for something, it would be that.
I just don't think those companies are losing enough money to warrant that.
I don't either because I mean, I actually can't even get into the P&L.
I can't get into the P&L of it all.
Of course not.
Because now we have self-checkout.
So it's anyway, let's talk about.
about coffee tasting like barbecue sauce,
just something you added. That's it? In a fit of rage, I can only imagine. Actually, no, I was
happy. You were smiling? I was smiling through it. Just sometimes, I don't know if it's like
the, I mean, it's got to be long COVID. Well, it's long COVID. It's just a
couple of things. Kind of lose your taste. Coffee's barbecue sauce. Just occasionally, whatever
concoction I make with coffee, it tastes like barbecue sauce. I'm not saying it in a bad way.
What are you putting in there though? I don't necessarily know, but it's like maybe I'm like
taking something in the morning, like a supplement is then making it taste like barbecue sauce.
Oh, because you have like something on the tongue. Because I like have something, you know.
Yeah. Which also like creatine is just crazy. Oh, I need to start taking that apparently for
memory or something. Yeah. I mean, it's like, it's amazing for everything, except all of a sudden,
sometimes your shirts don't fit because I'll be in the gym and I'll be like 10 more. Like it's
Hulkamania. I did want to just comment on the fact that I'm dressed like a middle school boy
at a sleepover and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. We're at the same sleepover,
but we're bringing different personalities. Well, I'm sitting with the mother.
And I'm just like with the guys, just like, how do I play this video game?
You're like, what is this? And you have the sleeves down.
I'm like, what is this? When we don't have the air on in here and we feel like we're going to
fall asleep. Do you remember those photo shoots of like babies in like planters? And they were like,
they looked like flowers. They were styled down. There's a Teletubbies that's getting like
confused with the baby. I know, but these were like calendars. Yeah, I know what you're talking
about.
A woman who took the photos would keep the rooms like at like a perfect temperature to make babies
fall asleep. And so when we didn't have the air on earlier and we started to short circuit,
it just made me think of like, there is a temperature you can reach where it is just like
it lures you to sleep. Siren song. It's a siren song. So I'm glad that we have the air on and
it's okay because we're only human. Oh my God. Yeah. I'm sorry, you guys. I just, if we don't
have it, I like when I say the words get caught in my back, if it's hot out, I'm just like,
I'm actually, I'm cooked.
I'm totally cooked.
I guess it's time for us to talk about something that we talk about every single day, even
when we're not here on the podcast.
It's Sophie Pavitt time. So I met Sophie Pavitt actually all the way back in like 2017 I think
was my first facial. It completely rocked my world. And during that time she was developing
what is now Sophie Pavitt face, which is, it's a revolution. They sell it in the Sephora
in Boise, Idaho, no less. Yeah. But that Mandelic clearing serum, it has cleared my sister's skin.
My skin, your skin in a huge way. My God, you were going through it.
I was a dog before.
She's acne whisperer for a reason.
So Sophie Pavitt is a licensed esthetician known as NYC's Acne Whisperer with celebrity
and it girl clients, including us, she's over a decade treating real skin in her New York
studio. I use the face wash and the hydrating moisturizer, and now there's one with sunscreen
where it's SPF.
How about I tell you my favorite? Please.
So the NYC ice is, that's what I'm talking about. And you said every day on set, de-puff
this little rosacea face. Come out, come out, come out. And usually my skin hates niacinamide,
but it's fine in that one. I am obsessed with the new cloths. The clean cloths, because
I'm also rosacea girl, bacteria, towels. You can't wash towels every day.
But her philosophy is a simple three-step approach. Cleanse, treat, moisturize, no 12
step routines. I mean, I have like, I bring like barely any product everywhere I go. This
skincare works for everyone.
Y'all know I'm rosacea down.
Y'all know I'm rosacea down, right? This skincare that works for everyone, breakouts,
congestion, texture dullness at any age. So get 20% off your first purchase at sophiepavittface.com

No C D let's fucking go. So, okay. Relationships are intense. They make us care deeply, feel
vulnerable, maybe even freak out a little sometimes that's human, but some people have
relationship concerns.
There are things that go far beyond standard ones like finding another person attractive
than immediately thinking, oh my God, does this mean I don't really love my partner or
needing constant reassurance that your relationship is right or that you're not making the wrong
choice because you never feel sure enough or asking yourself the same question hundreds
of times a day. Do I really love them? What if I'm wasting their time and searching for
some feeling of certainty that never comes. Many people think these sorts of thoughts
and anxieties are just overthinking or commitment issues, but they can actually be signs of
relationship OCD.
So many people think OCD is just about cleaning or organizing or making your books the kind
of like rainbow pattern, but that stereotype couldn't be more wrong. Real OCD is a serious
condition. I have it. Hey, where distressing unwanted thoughts called intrusive thoughts
get stuck on repeat and you feel compelled to do certain things, mental or physical behaviors
called compulsions to try to make the anxiety stop. With relationship OCD compulsions might
look like constantly seeking reassurance, replaying memories to see if you feel a spark
or comparing your partner to others. But what's given me so much hope is learning that OCD
is one of the most treatable mental health conditions. When you get the right kind of
specialized therapy, OCD needs ERP therapy, exposure and response prevention, which is
proven to be the most effective treatment. And it did help me so much. No CD is the world's
leading OCD treatment provider and all of their licensed therapists specialize in ERP
therapy with no CD is a hundred percent virtual covered by insurance for over 138 million.
So you never have to face OCD alone. Well, you never are anyway, because you're right here with me. And my arms around you, if you consent to that, I love you stinky. To learn more about starting OCD therapy with no CD, go to nocd.com and book a free call with their team. That's nocd.com. Love you.
Oh my God. I have so much to say as far as like, yeah, nevermind.
Okay, cool. You weren't invested in that, were you?
Nope.
You asking that the other day at the dinner I wasn't at and then recounting it to me.
You have to.
There's no way you cared about that, right? And to my great surprise, they couldn't have
given a fuck less.
Yeah, that's awesome.
Yeah.
Should we get into what we ride for?
Finally, I can say with my whole heart.
With your whole, 10 toes down.
With my whole wagon, 10 toes down. I will be riding for nut butters.
Nut butters. And I will be riding for,
one of the great songwriters of our time, Camila Cabello.
Ah.
Cute girl with a sick mind. I don't lose, I don't play my cards right.
Spritz, spritz, yeah, make them come alive. Chanel number five.
Do you want to go first?
You have to go first.
Okay, cool.
If you're going to talk about Camila.
The one that I wanted to start with today was actually, she says,
I'm sick on you, sick on you.
But you're the medicine too.
Is this on CXOXO?
No, this is on.
What was on this?
This is on Camila.
Oh, of course, debut.
So I don't know if you've heard Camila Cabello's solo album, first solo album,
but some of the lyrics, like, it just sucks that we can't play the songs.
Cause then there's like copyright or whatever.
I know.
But it's just, I love, first of all, the album artwork.
It's so like sensual.
She's like wearing this gorgeous floral dress that's off the shoulder.
I think I know exactly what you mean.
Oh, I mean.
That was so huge.
Havana's on that album.
Yeah.
Is that the most streamed song of all time?
Is it?
It like has to be one of like top ten.
For me, that's like gotta be.
I hope so.
Half of my heart is in Havana.
See, you're going to be talking about all these other things, which I cannot
wait to dive more into, but I'm a CXOXO.
Interesting.
Like I'm a, not only an apologist, a, um, a fighter, a revolutionary.
I love that album from the second it came out.
So do you.
It was always on your TV.
Yeah.
Well, I, I really like the, I got one of the, one of the, one of the
craziest features of all time.
Cause you cannot understand a single word.
So the album Camilla released January 12th, 2018.
What a great way to start off.
the year yeah never be the same she loves control inside out by the way well of course and she knew
that yeah of course consequences who are you in the dark show me the scary parts and did you hear
that that was god chiming in and then of course into it i mean this album is no skips for me
and at one point uh on the galaxy brain tour i was with victor carlessi in the car and we just
put this whole album on top to bottom and we rocked the fuck out it's just so good what could
be better i know and i just think like there's a lot of bangers and i just i want to make sure
she is solidified in the pop girlies sphere because like i really think of her as like a top
tier pop singer lately i do think she's getting her due for cxoxo because that got like so much
weird like people love this like flop they love to say flop but I don't ever hear flop about guys
and all of them flop in kind of ways that like no woman could consistently it's unbelievable
they can't stop flopping and then when they're done with the flop then allegations come right
it's kind of just immediately after but there is something about the rise of I think these women
now the Tinashe the Zara Larson like the girls are coming back and they're like no we're gonna
stay we're not new to this we're true to this and just watch but CXO so I was watching it kind of
like spark back up and I mean Chanel number five was like my favorite song that year I love it I
love it I love it I love it I love it I love it I don't know and I love that video too I just there
was a spring breakersness to it it was sexy it was Miami Playboy Cardi were on to you Playboy Cardi
I am so Playboy Cardi if I had to pick she also samples a song called shawty is the which
was a big favorite of mine in high school for the song dream girls and so I just think like it's just
good pop music like we don't get that stream it again and again and again yeah 2018 the album
came out I'm not done streaming it yet how many albums from that long ago are you really going
back to and you're listening to the whole entire thing it's for me it's it's very few it's like
SZA Control Camila Cabello and I don't know I don't know how many of them I don't know how many of
Micah Bayo, Camilla, and not, I mean, honestly, not that many other ones.
Maybe Melodrama.
Was that that year?
And I guess Pop 2 maybe is around that time or a little earlier.
Pop 2, yeah, I think Pop 2 was like 2017.
I want to just praise her.
And I think when people leave a pop group, I'm sure that's scary and intimidating.
And for her to establish herself as an incredible solo artist after the Fifth Harmony era,
which I could write for Fifth Harmony's album because there are so many songs on there
outside work from home, which I could listen to every day for the rest of my life.
You ain't got to go to work.
We can work from home.
We can literally work from home.
Wait, there's a-
Who wrote that?
There is-
I got to get my eyes.
Max.
Ty Dolla $ign featuring.
We are so fucking lucky.
And as I've said before, I just think it's cool that we can continue to get new music
without having to like take any away.
Like, it's crazy that we just keep adding to what's available.
And so Camilla, like, you have my heart and I just can't wait for more music, girl.
Can an A-lister pop in for a sec?
Hi.
Hi.
So I was at a Halloween party once and I was actually sitting with Camilla
and she was dressed as Regina George and I was having a horrible night.
Like, I just felt so sad and so alone and just like terrible.
And I was just talking to her and I think it's that same thing with Sophie Pavitt,
which we talk about in the ad, where it's so cool that someone who makes,
who makes amazing things is also just like, she was heaven.
She was so sweet.
And she, when she was with Shawn Mendes, they were very sweet about the Shawn Mendes videos,
which was really nice because.
So they're aware.
Yeah.
Oh, yes.
That was very much.
Yeah.
Well, people kept bringing me to him and I was like, I don't know if he wants to see this,
but this is so full circle.
People's instincts are so funny.
No, they're like, oh my God, you got to meet each other.
I'm like, I think let's let him come to me.
Yeah.
If he wants to.
But I was at a coffee shop in London and in front of me, I just heard this voice and I was like,
oh my God.
And he turned and we had the nicest little interaction.
He was so sweet.
What coffee shop?
I met his girlfriend.
She was adorable.
It was called something fabulous.
Oh God, I'm sorry.
A woman never tells.
She loves control.
She wants it her way.
And there's no way she'll ever stay unless you give it up.
If that ain't me.
That's so you.
If that ain't me in a relationship.
Have you two interacted yet?
No, I'm looking forward to the opportunity.
Oh, it's going to be huge.
I really feel like this album speaks to me just on so many levels.
So you're like from the original.
This is like you love debut.
Yeah.
See, yeah, that's so crazy.
I love that.
Loving you was young and wild and free.
Loving you was cool and hot and sweet.
Loving you was sunshine, safe and sound.
A steady place to let down my defenses.
But loving you had consequences.
Like I have chills and it's so I'm hot.
I'm wearing a sweatshirt and I have chills.
She just turned off the mics.
She said, I think the episode's over.
The mics just blew up, kid.
Yeah.
They're on fire.
Imagine being in the booth in the studio.
I'm just like dropping some fire like that.
No, I know.
And then putting on a sweatshirt, going like this with the sleeves
and then going, I'll see you guys tomorrow.
Looking at them and go, should we get Postmates?
Which I want.
God, I wish I could be like in the studio.
Obviously, there is like something coming that's kind of like of that
where I was in the studio, but it was for one day.
But like it meant the world to me.
Remember us writing Soho House in the studio in LA?
Oh my God.
Well, my scrapped record.
Do you want to get into that right now?
Not yet.
Okay, but we will.
But I'd love to get Camila on it when, you know, when we release the tapes.
I know exactly the song.
You know the track.
But she is fabulous.
And I really think that we have to also allow artists to find their way.
I think sometimes it's like we want these new eras,
but then sometimes when they're not like immediately digestible,
we get really mad that it doesn't sound the same or we want them to fail.
I think she's one where it's like,
no, if we would have just taken two more seconds there,
we would have seen that CXO was a fabulous album.
And also this was coming from a true star.
And we're doing it now.
We're doing it now.
Well, the people that it's queer people.
And she actually. They're the ones who lock back in.
She got paparazzi'd on the beach at one point.
And there were these photos published of her.
And she wrote this like extremely earnest and vulnerable post
about having your body consumed by the media and just people's reaction.
And it was just because people were being so horrible.
And I just like she was already a star in my eyes.
And then I feel like when you have those moments of vulnerability,
which of course, unfortunately, are many times born out of like negativity.
It's just, I don't know.
I was like the honesty.
I just like I always respond to that.
I think just be real and it affects you.
It's like not nice.
Well, imagine needing to comment on someone's body.
That's just like, God, are you fucking sluts at the gym?
Are you whores at the gym trying to get fucking trying to be in shape
for your stupid Instagram?
Bullshit hard and you won't let me wipe you stream Camilla right now.
So you can you hit us with your tops?
And then I'm going to recommend mine.
It's really hard.
Okay.
Never be the same is just like an incredibly explosive track.
Something must have gone wrong in my brain.
Got your chemicals all in my veins.
Feeling all the highs, feeling all the pain.
Yeah.
Let go on the wheel.
It's the.
It's the bullet lane.
I mean, yeah, that's just a fucking banger for me.
So never.
I don't know.
It's just all of them.
But I think my favorite one that I put on all the time is in the dark.
Actually.
And there's one song I haven't even mentioned yet.
And that's on her album Romance from 2019.
Oh, I love easy romance.
I always thought I was hard to love till you made it seem so easy.
That's me to you.
Stream easy.
That's so true.
By Camilla Cabello.
We're just talking about that episode.
It would have been two episodes.
Now ago where I'm finally the patient one.
It's like, no.
Yeah.
It's two episodes ago.
So fire.
She was on the other foot.
I love it.
Fall is about getting back into routine.

So you start with the great skin serum for a visible, healthy looking glow instantly.
This is delicious.
Under makeup, then the minimalist.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
The minimalist, this stick, I use it.
I use it under my eyes on a few little areas, a few little problem areas to get my full lights.
No make that delicious little boy beats.
It works double duty as both the foundation and concealer.
So you can get a quick buildable coverage.
These two together are literally going to be your best skin in just two steps.
And you add a little flush bomb for natural flush from within cheek color that stays all day.
I love these flush bombs.
I put them.
A little tip.
I put them on the top, the top, top, top, top part of my cheekbone across my nose.
And then I also put a little bit on my forehead because the sun would hit you to there.
Okay, ladies, I love you so much.
Do you know that?
Do you understand that?
And swipe on their newly launched clean volume mascara.
So I haven't used this, but my sister did.
And she said that is literally fantastic.
And she's very picky about mascaras.
So.

I mean, hey, what could go wrong? I mean, it's not the craziest idea people are saying that I'm cutting you off a lot lately
It's just conversation. Like I do that to people too, and I feel like I'm hyper aware of it because of doing podcasts
But it's like if someone's speaking and I want to either do like a riff or something
Like I'm not just sitting there like that. Like I'm ready to jump in if it's like it's like double dutch
If someone does that to me being an orgy
Yeah, I know
I said I said the orgy because there's a big podcaster orgy they throw every year
We always don't go we're always busy. We always don't go let's go this year if I'm
You know who's in there ripping it can we talk about nut butters?
So it's time to talk about nut butters from one thing
I love to another from sea to shining sea Camilla Cabello to nut butters
Fucking range to the Atlantic to the Pacific. No, I'm rosacea down. Oh now I'm referencing ads also
I don't know if those are and we don't even know if that ads come out yet. That's what's cool
Cuz like it's called an Easter
Exactly, there are so many Easter eggs in season two. I even thought recently I was like, oh my god
You're gonna have a field day. I didn't even know so it's gonna be fun for
For all you Taylor nation heads out there. So before you get into it, I just want to say and that's me interrupting you
So I watched Donnie Darko recently and they talked about cellar door, which is like, you know, according to a linguist
It's like the most satisfying thing to say for like how the like letters move cellar door cellar door. It's like a very satisfying thing
You're saying I would consider nut butters in that same exact. That's about as good
saying nut butter nut butter nut butter
Speak on it. Oh my god. It's from the tips of my toes to the tips of my
While now that's what it feels like
Come on
Pancake then I kiss the weekend. Ah, you could pretend it all the time
When you have kids they go to elementary school. I come in and sing that well
You tell them there is your rosacea down and then you sing banana
Rosacea down and then make a banana pen. Oh my gosh. She's literally listening to Camila right now. Oh my god, darling. Knock it off
nut butters
So from a young age, I grew up. My mom is a peanut butter fiend
I'm not being a fiend. She's a fiend. Yeah, she's fiend a fiend. Yeah, she's fiend. You're gorgeous
Thanks, man. Look at you miss Billie Eilish. You think I'm good
You want to kiss?
You want to love?
Gracie Lee Freebush. Gracie Lee Freebush. Gracie Lou Freebush? Gracie Lou Freebush.
I am so the redhead in that
You can wear a light jacket. Keep going
Is she not red? I don't think so. I think she's blonde. We'll check. Well, I'd say strawberry blonde by the way
It's like a blonde. Can I say fair?
Totally. So nut butters. My mom loved peanut butter as a kid like the way we were ripping through it in my household was actually
Unbelievable. Creamy or crunchy? How about both? I had a feeling you grew up in that type of house
So I had a third floor. You had creamy and crunchy. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about different but also kind of the same
Of course, but here's the thing my so my mom would get both because it's like you never know
I think I personally like a little crunch
If I had to randomly come on, it's oral fixation that falls outside of my personality profile
I agree you are so creamy to me
but randomly sometimes you get nasty with it like I watch you do some shit at a movie theater and I'm like you
She might even buy a fucking pickle. You don't know a pickle in a bag. That's what I'm talking about
So oh, I'm like electrified. This is like it's cool to be passionate about stuff
My mom she would get Nature Valley bars that were already peanut butter. She would put peanut butter over the top of peanut butter
I mean she was like I can't get enough of this
Yeah
She bought me so many of those though in my childhood that they taste like recess to me and then I have like a weird guilt
Catholic shame thing. So now they taste like original sin sensory experience. It tastes like original sin, right?
so I don't really eat those anymore, but
my
Peanut butter has always been a thing for me
Scooping nut butter in a spoon and just taking it down the gullet couldn't be better. Nothing could be better to me
Okay, so this is where it gets really crazy
so
all through college all this I am truly
Addicted to these nut butters, but I was only not cuz just wait sweetie. That's what I wanted to know
I forget when you went to college sometimes easy
This friend keeps doing this thing to me where he'll be like if I'm kind of going crazy
He'll do a wheezy sugar cube brushing you but to me
It's like give me a spoonful of cashew butter, which we're gonna get to my new girl
so peanut butter non-stop on the set of season one of over
Compensating Rishaw is allergic to peanuts. And so on those days I
Remember Abby my assistant I talked about this. I think it in the last season
She would sprint over and be like, please don't like I swear to God. You didn't have peanut butter today
I was like I didn't and so you guys had to kiss cuz you're we're about to tongue each other gay scenes and
So who that pervert writer made us kiss each other so me so we I
during that time
I had to get to know other butters these other nut butters I had maybe had a few there's this brain called Justin's
That is really fabulous. The way you look at me is the way all girls look at their gay guy
It's the way all people should look at each other. I mean my goodness. I think everyone's a miracle
I love when people have comments under the tech talks and they'll be like no she really in love with him
How could I not be?
No, literally like you're so cute the book
This was the first time I thought to myself
Let me open my heart to other nuts. You're not a one nut butter kind of guy
I'm not a one nut butter kind of guy. Ethical non-monogamy with your nut butters. Exactly. It can be open. They can share you
Come on
As I pick one up off the shelf at Whole Foods, I go don't be jealous. Everyone there thinks I'm schizo. I might be
and to that I say I might be the book so
I during this time I start to
Delve a little bit into almond butter. Yeah, me and almond butter had a crazy run
It's a gateway butter from peanut. Can I just say many people's first nut butter other than peanut? It's almond
It's almond, but what I found out which I have a lot to say about this
I think I'm gonna ride for this later, which is understanding your gut biome. I
Found that I was really sensitive to almonds and peanuts
Because I had like I'll say it leaky gut
My Candida was crazy
Wow
My doctor telling me I have leaky gut. I'm just
It's a punch of that part in a record scratch. Yeah, I went leaky gut me as a soundboard
So then it was like all of a sudden I had spent all this time on set eating apples and peanut butter went to almond
Had almost too much almond butter
Started to get a sensitivity to it because there was something going on in my gut
I got tested and I essentially did I got tested
We are
the juice generation
That's the new Power Rangers I love Power Rangers as a concept, but it was just before my time
Like I love the Power Ranger in theory, you know where they lost me where they made Power Rangers Halloween costumes for kids
They under produced the pink one. So my brothers got to be blue and red and I was left with the
Because they didn't make enough for the pink one so we couldn't get it
Why? I would assume that would be flying off the ship.
shells. Create a sense of demand. I don't know. It's like my heart was broken. They used the
supreme model. My heart. How many are you going to sell? Do you have? Target went happy Halloween
cunt. It was literally like probably even pre-Target. Like I can't talk about it. And
pre-internet for sure. What does Shane Gillis think about Halloween? That must just blow his
fucking mind. I don't think he celebrates satanic holidays. You think the gym's crazy? Get ready
for this shit. Y'all ever been on a sidewalk? Also, have you ever seen a gay guy at the gym,
Penny? So during this time, I got gut tested and I found that because of this leaky gut,
I was sensitive to a lot of the things I loved. Then I said to this doctor, I was like, could I,
I guess, what would that doctor be? A gastroenterologist or something?
Jesus fucking Christ. Was it that or was it a naturopath?
I want to grab you by the brain so fucking bad right now. I swear to fucking God.
So she says, you know what? Cashew butter. That's going to be your friend. And I'm like, oh, holy
shit.
I go and get cashew butter. I taste it for the first time. It's maybe the best. I peanut and
that are kind of like, it's nasty. But have you tried sunflower butter? Just wait. Technically
not enough. I didn't even get there. Yeah. I just want to make sure. Cause you're saying
favorites already. And we haven't even said all of them yet, baby. And I just had freaking
macadamia nut butter. You're going to say that. And I had hazelnut nut butter. Hazelnut nut butter
is so good, but it's, I think really like there's a lot of like natural fats or something. So I
eat it in moderation.
Okay. See all of them. I just think like I could be having a hot Cheeto right now. So this is my
snack. Let her rip. Absolutely. And a handful of nuts is incredible to me too, but just there's
something about these. Or you're making your own butter with your teeth. Exactly. I'll always make
my own butter. So, um, season two overcompensating happens and we shoot at the house where it's our
Idaho house. Um, someone who lives at the real house is like deathly allergic to nuts, all nuts.
So you're not allowed. So on those days, crafty would have sunflower seed butter. This is like,
it almost is not, obviously it's not a nut butter, but it's such a different taste,
but the texture is so fabulous. It's so creamy. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love that so
much. But I think right now in this state, could I say that's my favorite? No, because cashew butter,
I keep coming back to her. I don't know which one's the best.
I haven't figured that out because also macadamia milk's really good, but then someone was like,
no pistachio milk's better. I think that's too nutty and creamy. It's for the individual self.
And it's like, I'm glad we're not so with nutrition facts. I know I just brought up that
hazelnut nut butter has like more fatty acids or something, which I don't even know if that's true,
but I just feel like I don't read the nutrition facts as much anymore. I'm just like,
what gives me a stomachache and what doesn't? Yeah. Wait, this teacher in Hawaii, she,
which I'm going to ride for, I have to ride for these teachers on TikTok because
just rocking my world. I want all of them to teach me how to do cursive. But she has one
where she goes, what I eat in a day as a teacher who eats food that makes me feel good. Yeah. And
I was like, oh, I love that. That is an ethos. That is like a thing. It's also Courtney Cook,
who I rode for, where she just kind of eats what sounds good to her and she does it. And I think
like that is really beautiful. And that's a healthy mindset to have with food, everything
in moderation, obviously. But I think not when it's nut butters, because I'm going to have that
shit all fucking day. As much as all you can eat. It's just crazy. Like,
I just love nuts. I love dick. I love how much you love nuts. I just fucking love nuts. It's so
awesome. And what I really want this Christmas, and I hope you can make this happen for me. I'm
going to try. I want chestnuts. I've never had roasted chestnuts. No, I don't. Well, I'm sure
there's a chestnut butter somewhere. You can only hope. Oh, my God. I just got chills. Okay. But
I'm going to look into that. I just, someone was like, yeah, someone told me they went camping and
they roasted chestnuts and they were delicious. You know who I could see helping us out with that
is my mom.
A hundred percent.
We'll get her on the horn.
She's got some right now.
She's making.
Cigar in.
She's making 50 pounds of roasted chestnuts right now.
Cracking those. A little nut cracker.
She cracks them with her hands.
Of course. And then she laughs.
Yeah.
And she eats the whole thing. She didn't need to crack it in the first place.
Well, that's how she enjoys them. And what do we say? Do it in the way that you like.
Hey, live your life.
I ride for nut butters. I can't say enough how much this snack has saved me.
By the way, it's like when I'm feeling famished and I can't go on,
if I know I have a nut butter in the fridge and or here's one thing I'll say.
Spoons hate to see me coming, though, I will say.
But the oily aspect of it can be really hard with some of these alternative butters.
Oh, when you have to go.
But sometimes you have to store them upside down. You just have to make sure it's really
because then it doesn't separate for some reason, which my cousin, who's a chef, explained to me.
Oh, that's genius. Because my mom used to buy this brand Adams. Do you ever have Adams peanut
butter? And she was turning it like a maiden. Yeah, it was.
But you have to make sure it's really secure. It will leak. So or keep it in the fridge.
I got this one.
It was cashew butter. And I took a knife and I just I was like, oh, it was witch's brew.
Well, it's a workout. But I'm in a sunflower seed butter phase right now.
But I love nut butters. It feels like protein. I'm not sure if it is, but it feels like it is.
It's protein. It's fiber. It's healthy fats. It fills you up. It's so good on everything.
Bread, banana, rice cracker.
Holy shit.
Peanut. I mean, pretzel.
Can I raise you a bowl with cashew butter on it?
I just love this. And I think you find the one that works for you. And sometimes it's trial and
error. And yeah, can I just.
Can I just say one thing? They can be expensive when they're organic.
Oh, whoa.
Ethically sourced.
The almond butters I was taking down in L.A. were like, you ever heard of $17 peanut butter?
And I was like, you're sick for that.
Snacks rooted in the tradition of longevity.
I have to imagine the Egyptians had peanut butter. You know what I'm saying?
Of course. There was some insane fact I read that the dinosaurs were closer to the pyramids than Cleopatra was.
Of when they were built.
We'll look into that.
We're going to look into that.
Yeah.
Fuck, that weed is loud.
Yeah.
Should we do weed soon?
Sure. Like for the pod or just general?
Oh, that would be a whole thing.
I don't think people would like it.
No one would.
Because we, people accuse us of being high all the time. I think if you actually saw us high, it would scare you.
Someone said I was on coke for one of these. I was like, girl.
Don't disparage my kindling.
Come on.
Come on. My jaw would be going a mile a minute if you think I'm doing coke on here.
But yeah, I, I think I'm just curious because it's all about set and setting.
I always say this to people.
It's set and setting.
When they talk about drugs. I think that is like whatever, whoever came up with that, be it a scientist, I'm sure it was.
The concept of set and setting for so many things is actually really beautiful.
Even for anything you could say.
Literally, it's like, yeah, do that if you're in the right mental state.
It's read the room.
It's so read the room, but of your own body.
Of your own body.
But yeah, also read the room of the people around you.
Are they sinister?
Because that could be a crazy night.
Just like nicotine, heroin, morphine.
Suddenly I'm a fiend and you're all I need.
All I need.
Yeah, you're all I need.
That was the one.
And it's you, babe.
I saw the best TikTok of this woman on a bus belting that.
And I was like, that's one of those things where you think that's everyone is so cute.
It's interesting.
I never got sent that.
I think I did send that to you.
We send so many a day, though, sugarpuss.
That's what I call you.
Sugarpuss.
And I call you Zootabug.
It's Camila.
I want to get it right.
Camila Cabello.
Camila Cabello.
I have written for her since she was a member of the greatest girls group we've had in years.
In years.
In fucking years.
And I adore her.
I feel very lucky and I have so much gratitude that I got to have this little moment with her.
I've actually had two really beautiful moments with her.
Both times she meant the fucking world to me.
It was so sweet.
And so.
And I do want her if we get to do season three of Overcompensating.
I have an idea for her.
I want her in the show.
I just think she's amazing.
And I I'm really I love people that this is he's a he's an interesting figure.
But John Mayer had this thing.
I remember he said about Lady Gaga's art pop where he was like, I just really love that she doubled down and like didn't say that she like regretted or anything like she believed in it.
And I just think that's really beautiful, especially for the population.
girlies who just get like so dogged all the time too many opinions too much discourse just listen
to the music or don't it was like my thing i just like can we stop critiquing everything so intensely
i think it's because with the internet now everyone can be that so it just feels like oh my god it
used to be like you kind of read reviews of something but it's they don't mean as much but
now it's like you have so much now you see a tweet of a review of something and you go everyone
thinks blank yeah people are saying blank and it's like no you just saw one tweet also articles
like journalistic articles are quoting tweets as like facts yeah they're like one user tweeted
and it's like but that's one person that has 52 likes yeah it doesn't mean anything so i just
think cxoxo is as someone who has listened to it and loves it it is so worth the price of admission
the price of admission go check it out get those streams and let's do this let's make it chart
and then also juice generation yeah
but then also um i'm gonna go back and get into that earlier work because i don't know if i was
as much in there for that like i every time i heard her songs i love them but it was
just beautifully written and i love this i love the music i just fucking love them i can tell
that's so beautiful i love i love the lyrics i love music that makes women happy it's like
somehow mayhem was that i remember a lot of like people really like women responding to that album
from gaga in a way that maybe others i just was like okay well obviously it's for gay guys but
like which one is it for me i don't know i don't know i don't know
women love and mayhem was that I thought that was really
beautiful like my sisters like push.
on. And I'm like, okay, I broke his
apple. What the fuck? Yeah.
You mean the world to me. I love you.
And it's you, babe. Put those paws up high.
And I'm a sucker for the way that you
move, babe. I am a sucker.
And if you find a thing, you think of me
now, babe.
As I put my Uggs on, my cow print Uggs are waiting
for me at home. You're kidding. I have to go.
Oh my god.
My cow print Uggs. We love you.
C-X-O-X-O.
Oh, my exit.
Benny, babe. Eyes on the road.
Benny, look out!
Ride.
