The transcription begins with a promotional segment for the "Lourid Up" podcast, which covers Pokémon Go and geek culture. It then transitions into a "Mystery Quest" gameplay episode of Call of Cthulhu titled "The Saturnine Chalice." The investigators, stranded after their car runs out of fuel, are led by the butler Jeremiah through a mysterious mansion. They observe a modern kitchen, a Rolls-Royce in a garage, and a mausoleum, learning about the death of Evangeline years ago and a recent, unexplained death affecting the family. While examining the car, one investigator sees phantom bare feet and later notices an extra shadow, suggesting supernatural activity. They find the gasoline cans empty and plan to inquire about fuel in the basement. The segment concludes with the investigators approaching the mausoleum, intending to use witchcraft to communicate with the deceased and uncover the household's secrets, leaving the mystery unresolved and eerie.

Or are you on a mystery quest? [Music] And welcome everybody to Mystery Quest, where we are continuing our adventure of Call of Cthulhu, the Saturnine Chalice. Last time, while on a road trip, our investigators car runs out of fuel, but they make their way to a mysterious man-a-house in the woods. After being invited inside and being given some questionable drinks, they engage with the eccentric host and his staff in conversation. We rejoin them with Jeremiah the Butler leading them out to the garage in search of fuel. Jeremiah kind of takes you through the building. He takes you into the kitchen. This very nicely well furnished kitchen. Very modern appliances. Like a huge cooking range. And they got a refrigerator and a freezer in here, which is pretty. Did you just roast me working in the kitchen? Yeah, roast me, you can see her in the kitchen. There's some big boiling like bowls, like pots on top of the cooker. It looks like they're making like an extreme type thing and a soup. Off to one side, there's chopped vegetables and cuts of meat kind of like laying out and chopping boards. Next to very sharp knives. And she's just like pottering around in there. But yeah, you're taking through and into a room just past the kitchen, which is like a smaller. It looks like a more modernly built part, which is connecting what would have been the servant squatters to the main house of the building. And it's just like white floors, kind of every. the concrete floor wooden walls, all just painted kind of just pristine white. And there's a bunch of kind of bedroom furniture just sort of stacked up with cloths over in here. Like a. what looks like some dismantled beds and. Well, I start moving in and out, Jeremiah. I was sapping in here. Oh, I. Yes, we moved. we're constantly moving furniture around and. I actually speak house. Just putting. just making better use of our space. You see. And he leads you through there and out. out the back into the. the guard, basically. And off to one side, you can see this large. what looks like it was like a stable that's now turned into a garage. Straight in front of you is like an old well. Or just like a stone well. Like a well, well, well. And to the sort of other side is what looks like a. like a mussely-yam. Like this large, quite fancy, like stone, white stone musselyam. Gosh, that a musselyam. Jeremiah was a house. Oh, yes. Is that the first? Yes. The dearly departed. Yes, that's. Evangeline. Oh, that's where she is. It's a wonderful memorial to her. Put to rest, yes. So it's quite. so quite sad. When did she pass away? What happened? Oh, this was many, many years ago. We've been with the. my wife and I rose to me. We've been with the waylands for many years. And she died during childbirth. Oh. And yes, we've. actually, like we spent a lot of time helping to raise. Well, that's right. Raisvoronica, like we really feel like part of the family here. And yes, August was quite distraught when she died. She kind of fell into his studies and kind of retracted from the world a little bit. But quite a sad affair. It does definitely upset him. Oh, I'm terribly sad. But anyway, what would we after? A fuel? Yes. Right. Please. And heads over to this. the stables. And there's three large, double doors on the front of it. And opens one of them. And inside, you can see this beautiful Rolls Royce. Like it is gorgeous. That's a car. That's a car. Should we take a. How about you. if you give us a lift in this Rolls, to our car, with a canister of petrol, then we can be there and back in no time. A good idea, Perry, then we can ride. I can drive it. I can drive this car, please. Oh, my God. I'd love to drive this car. Oh, I would have to ask Mr. Mr. Wailand, but I'm sure he would be. I might stand behind her like. Fine. Wailand. Maggie's an excellent driver. She's hardly had anything to drink today. Oh, you're a couple of squids. And she drives better when she's had a couple. No, well, you did just have that. It feels up her. Martini, right? Yes, but that. I'm not. I don't think that got me any. Let's just say I don't think that got me any tips here. I think I'll be fine. Oh, yes. No, no, no, no. We can do this. You can see that. Yeah, in this. In a stable. Yeah, that's just beautiful, beautiful Rolls Royce. It is a 1930s Rolls Royce. Rolls 1925. The 1930s Rolls Royce 4050. 13. Yeah. Oh, I think we said 1930s. No, 1930s Rolls Royce. It's a time-time thing. No, I don't have a back to the video. The 4050 HP, which. I'm just gonna write all this down. Could you just. That if you are familiar with cars, you would know is known as like a nickname as the silver ghost. No. And it is a fancy car. I've got a picture on a car for you. There you go. It is. That's a fun one. It looks like you've got a driving wheel. Wait, is this like a one-of-one or is this like. No, but there's not as many of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they're expensive. This is a really. Whoa, whoa, whoa. This is quite the piece Mr. Wayland's got here. There's only like a few of these. I'm aware of even in America. Oh, yes. Yes, it's. He absolutely loves it. After Veronica, it's his pride and joy. He absolutely adores this vehicle. Please. If there's gasoline over here, I believe. And you can see two of these like two gallon. Like sort of big, big cans. Like you might just need to check if they're still. If we. If that's all? Absolutely. Okay. Do you think Mr. Wayland would mind if I had a look at the inside? Just to look at the engine? Like, I'm a big fan of these things. And I've never seen a car this beautiful. Oh, no. Please go right ahead. You reckon he would have been reluctant. Yeah. But he thinks that you're like. You feel like you've got a bit of a rapport. Okay. Like, no, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. My, the kind of you, Jeremiah. You mentioned that you're a car enthusiast, right? It's my job on the mechanic, but it's a real pretty thing to look at other than Mrs. Miggins, you know. It's my. I love it. I love it. Big winner, please. Jesus Christ. Uh, yeah. So you pop the hood open and this car is. Like, it is perfectly maintained. Like, it is absolutely beautiful. But you can see, like, looking through the car. Because you've looked inside the engine. Like, underneath. Something is loose. Mm-hmm. Like, you can't tell from up here. But you can tell something isn't connected in there. Okay. And that's weird for like how. Yeah. Perfectly. maintain this is. Oh good thing I looked at this year because it looks like carburetors disconnected from your brake engine. Oh you know this thing's nearly pretty neat. Does it drive as much because like this cable's loosen if that happens out in the road then you look at a real mess pal. Oh I don't know I'm not really a mechanic. I've got a Mr. Whalington mechanic to hand. No you think that this is literally plug plug your thing in like it was a two second job. Could I could I just reconnect this real quick like it will only take a second now. I let you watch me what I'm doing. Of course you need tools or anything. No it's as simple as this and I'll just you need to you need to go like underneath the car to like reach that. Yeah okay I like take my card again off full hand it to Miss McGins and just like get on my back and crawl under. Yeah you can see there is like some kind of cable wire thing that is not connected and as you you plug it in and you look to one side and standing the opposite side from everyone else because you're just chatting amongst yourselves and Jeremiah is there talking out. Oh he's very very handy. He's very good with. He's just the best do I know. Like my big Willie. Big Willie. It's a fun name. I'm sad we don't use it more but he's just kind of like chatting away with you guys and like all of a sudden just you stop kind of hearing them talking and you look over and you see a pair of bare feet stood next to the car kind of like dirty bare feet with slightly overgrown toenails. Have I finished the job? Yeah yeah you've I'm gonna like roll out quite a lot. Whoa whoa whoa you think you got like someone hiding around in here. Can you give me a sanity check. Oh so you need to roll. Oh sanity. That is a 80 and I have a 70 so can I spend no so you can't spend a lot of sanity so you lose one point of sanity. Okay so take 68. 69. So you pull pull out for one's car and there's no one there. There's no one stood there. You're right Willie what's going on? I could have swore I'm kind of sound really weird. I saw someone's feet. You want to see all our feature on the floor? No no no no. Come on there. You're all wearing shoes there. They were like barefoot. The money was the not very funny very funny. No I'm not kidding. Yeah. Boogie Bear was right there. Come on my big Willie. What would you mean you saw something? There shouldn't be anyone. Just saw the pair of feet was all I thought maybe you had someone like I'll snoop it around in here. Oh like you are it's not that big of space. Yeah. There's room for this car. This work bench. Just if there was someone stood there you guys would you would you would have seen it. You know why it's probably just been a long day. I'm a little tired. You know what I'd travel even though it's only the afternoon but like fanning you know. Yeah. My mind playing tricks. Have you been cheating? Down roll guy. Listen Jeremiah it's all you can let Mr. Wellen know it's all fixed up. It was just I plugged this back into the carburetors going to be working real fine for you. Oh it's real. Yeah. That's very kind of you. I don't even know if they've invented carburetors in the 1920s but it did it's fixed up. Does this kind of have like a myelomit or anything? Do they have those things? Yeah. I think they would they would have trapped just you looking how far you traveled. Sure. Yeah. That point of it. Actually is a useful we've gone five miles. Let's just check if when myelometers were invented before someone. Okay. I've said carburetors. Yeah. So in 1903 they were invented the auto meter and then they became the majority of cars in the 1970s. So I'm going to say probably not probably not probably a lacrosse because it might be custom. You know my lacrosse. It's got a small man inside who counts how far you've gone. That is 19. That's good. Yeah. Yeah. There's a myelometer in this car. No. I just you can also with that roll you can tell this was custom.ly put in if it wouldn't normally be in this car. You can see. Just a fucking comment. That yeah and it has the exact amount of miles you would expect to be on it. Nice. Right. Like it is. I expect. Yeah. Maybe it's I would say a few thousand miles. Okay. Like not massive. But so it's been driven a bit not a ton. Like this car is striking through something that I've wrote. Okay. From the house you hear August call. Is everything okay out there? Can I can Rosemary come out with some more drinks for you? Nice. I don't think so. Yeah. I'm good. Actually. Fine. Thank you. Thank you. Did Mrs. Miggins have a drink of water? No, I didn't know. Okay. That would be I'm getting a bit parched actually but I'll survive. I'm right. Are you sure down I can go get you something like it's fine. It's just a very hot day. Jeremiah. No, no, I got you here away from August. Yes. Yes. I've got to be a bit nosey. You know, we love to gossip. Who's passed away? The Veronica. Someone the runner canoe? Probably a mother that was years ago. Oh, that was. Yes. So sad. That was a death very recently. She was heartbroken. There's a real shame. So you want some gas, right? Gasoline. We have some cans right here. Can I row psychology on him to figure out is he lying or is he purposely in the morning psych me and I psych him out. Yeah. Oh, not good. Row 75. I needed 60. Okay. I'm not going to like it. You can. So in call of theory, you're always allowed to push a wrong that if you you can basically retake a dice roll, you're not allowed to use luck on the second one. Yeah. And it's just a way to have a second chance of something. But if it goes wrong, there will be consequence. Do I have to describe how I'm doubling down on it? Yeah. You need to say kind of what you're doing. So for example, in this situation, maybe you would want to, you could really push the topic. Yeah. Well, it is. It is strange, Jeremiah. I mean, who who's passed away? Is it? You must be someone very close seems to have affected the family quite deeply. I guess. Yeah. It's that enough. Yeah. Give me a, yeah, give me the role again. I just don't know how aggressive she miggins would ever be. She was quite nice. She wouldn't be horrible about it. I have 54. So I pass my, my, my 60. So first of all, I guess was was he like lying? Is he trying to deceive us? You don't think he was lying to you. He genuinely does seem a bit confused. Okay. And a little bit, a little bit lost. There's something odd about it. You know that much. Come on, Jeremiah. I mean, who, who someone must, who must be someone very dear to the family? Veronica seems very affected. We were wearing a morning down at her age. I mean, Yeah. No, it was terrible. We found the body. And we had to let her know. Uh, you were right. Jeremiah. Uh, what do you do? Uh, uh, I feel he's going to collapse. I'm going to like get the cat to me. He, he, he just looks really confused. Well, I don't want to stress you. Oh, Jeremiah. Go back to the house. 60s. 60s. Yeah. Oh, so uncomfortable top of Jeremiah. I understand. I'm sorry. So the gasoline that you were after. Yes. And he gestures to the, the cans of gasoline. Oh, yes. That's why we're here. Yes. I'll unscrew it. Give it a little weath. See how full it is. Yeah. You, you lift up these two cans of gasoline and they are both completely empty. Like there's not a drink in there. Oh, fuck. Like, ah, that's unfortunate. It was like you guys are out. Mr. Whaling must have been, you know, taking the car out quite a while. I don't blame him. It's a hell of a car. Oh, maybe we have some, there might be some gasoline down in the basement or something. We keep some supplies over what I said. I'll ask Rosemary about it. We'll see if she wants to go and have a little look around. Oh, you, you two got a lot on. Like if you, if you want to just show me the way I can go down there. No, please. If you ask Rosemary, she can, um,
Punching the in the direction of the Okay, the basement But yeah, so I should be getting getting back to it Will you enjoy the grounds if you need anything just call And hey if you need a hand really well as a fix it and a for while I'm here just let me know Yes, thank you very much for your assistance you're a great Great chap. They'd be very affable then nice home Can I bring you some drinks? I'm okay for now that tea was lovely, but Mrs. Mrs. Mick and she's maybe I'll have a tea as well then please Okay Right well You have in a minute of another martini. Oh, no, thank you. I'm simply full to the brim Okay, no problem And yeah, he heads heads back inside Mary Maggie So we've sort of walked away from I've like taken you away from these two right very darling This place is very very boring and the party's not starting for hours. I'm very terribly bored. I've got a really good idea Oh, oh god. Oh god. Okay. Well, why don't you offer your you know that That witchcraft thing that you do to talk to whoever this person is you died because I don't know about you But I'm gasping to know who it was. I don't you are I say that you'll help talk to her. I think yes I I think the way to do this. It's maybe to speak to Veronica. Yes. Yes. That's what I'm saying And I ask if I can I can give her my aid. Yes Yeah exactly and then we can find out who the bloody hell's passed away because everyone's acting like a bunch of nutters It's a jolly good idea Fantastic should we go back inside? Yes, apparently she's too Okay, they're too busy making out passionately in the corner. I'm gonna take come come it come on, really let's go look at this Moza Liam. You know, what are these feet you saw? I Don't you go. I just saw like a there was like a really nasty pair of feet like they were dirty The Tonys were on camera wearing our shoes. I mean my wife my stinkers out yet. No, it definitely wasn't like your little Tutsis then they were They were a real a real piece of work for the extended foot conversation. Please come and remember Delete with deleting members with deleting those entire thing Oh So yeah, we'll wander over to the Moza Liam I guess We're gonna cut away from you in a second, but sure Wander over there, but as you're walking along Really really nice garden really pretty And as your husband is describing this figure these feet to you The the sun is kind of slightly behind you and There are three shadows Walking there's you two and there's the shadow of another person. Oh my god as I Yeah, it's only only you notice this And there's a definitely a third person either like a foot or two. Don't I turn around the day There's nothing there did I get like a sense from the feet like really small feet like a child's feet where they like like Are they like a woman's foot was like a man? Roll me your foot knowledge What roll would that be just to probably some dice? 54 sure yeah, it's your guess human feet no human feet, but like you know like grown man like big size 12 fuckers No, you're 54. It's a human feet. You'd say woman's woman's woman's feet. Oh, okay I'm pretty I'm really I could just want to just saw shadow walking with us You turn around there's nothing you're stood you just see Maggie and Perry entering the building and Yeah, it is only you two in this in this corner. Just saw free shadows. Just Jeremiah not full. What's happening? No, he He went back to get rosemary like Maybe just the fumes coming off of those two all the booze they drink Must be effectiveness in some way. I know we're T-tos and I respect the law I like to read your speech I don't understand what's going on um Well, let's go to the Muslim I I'm a bit scared. I'm not gonna lie like it's fine. Hold me close, Willie. Okay. I Wrap my armor in the way. Oh, that's nice See, yeah, you make it to this uh stone Like quite beautiful and all-nate stone mussely and um And it's kind of like these pillars uh surrounding this kind of large large square Building stuff written on it just inscribed with anything. Yeah, so it has the uh with any Latin perhaps it If I know you've got Latin as a skill it says um, yeah, it's like the the wail and family mussely and on these pillars there are like these beautiful ornate like angel sculptures sort of either side of the the door You and necessarily say that's super weird to have on a mussely um for the dead and there's these like heavy iron gates and you can see that um stairs go down into Into the middle of the mussely and um and you're still on the outside and it's quite dark Uh in the interior. Yeah, you can't really see super well. Does it i'm not gonna open it up does it look open? Yeah, yeah This doesn't look um it's locked up or changed. No, no, no, no, no, this looks um and does the path Leading up to it does it look like heavily used as it looked like people are coming down here or lots and coming in and out like they're visiting I mean you tell builder mussely in your garden. I think you know, Megan's wood thing is a bit weird Yeah, and to like are you frequently going backwards and forwards? Are they going and checking and and You know, they're clear cut-up family about the death of the mother I Some people they do a role to see like they're gonna give me a spot hidden. I can do a spot in on it. I just like see AC8 yeah, it's a mussely and it's very cool You'd say the the paths and the grounds are Like pretty nicely maintained and it's hard to know Yeah, when this was last open, but it doesn't look dirty. Yeah, yeah, um it Looks like it's kept sure um, I'd love to meet the ground keeper. This place is a macular. I know. It's amazing The gardens the edges the fountains the the marzo Liam. It's beautiful. Everything just has an e revive to it I think maybe we're just tired like I'm seeing things you fucking saw somebody maybe I don't know It is a little uh. I am unsettled by the fact we're in a marzo Liam. That's kind of weird. It's kind of fucking weird beautiful sunny day outside of Those things that you saw tricks the light. Yeah, who knows um The It isn't too spooky I say with miss meganes is not wanted to delve into the middle of a graveyard. It is a little bit Would I feel like it's acceptable and comfortable to walk into the marzo Liam? Uh the You were not told not to um you Don't think it'd be too I think if you were respectful about it you think it would be absolutely fine You're going to pay our respects there. Yeah pay our respects to the lady in the house I reckon. Yeah, of course They seem very very impacted by it. So I guess we should Respect that okay. Uh, well Either way, will you You at first you open the iron gates and With a little bit of a creek and you descend down into the darkness I think we'll cut over to these guys uh maggie and parry as you are sat in the At the living room On these like large Large sofas you can see these beautiful paintings um and Yeah, you're there with August and So what was this uh what was this this idea you guys had that you wanted to be You'd be doing um you were telling me it's uh You're an occultist um I'm something of an occultist myself um I uh And then after my own heart Well, yes, I believe I believe so um and uh lovely and Veronica here she studied uh She studied summer cultism while she was at university uh history and languages and she's sat there. Yes, I Was very nice I love occultism So please uh Please mr. uh mr. Smive um Well, I do have a bit of a talent. I am a gifted individual I I am able to contact the dead and engage in conversation with them
He's very good at it. I promise it's a really good show. You should get a go. I talked to you. I talked to Maggie's You talked to party husband mummy daddy and Dickey. We had that party with all of that time. Yes. Yes, we did great We also wear and I I made sure that you drank a lot during that party. I remember yes Yes, you had a great time not to find that was not that not that drinking is necessary for this of course No, no, I feel free. I cannot partake in alcohol And is it a religious thing? You could say of a sort that I choose not to It's part of part of what we do I don't drink it. I need to keep my mind mind and body pure So who who was it that you'd like to to contact and Veronica is she She's like looking quite expectantly like she's trying to remember something. Oh God. Oh my God Veronica, I believe you have Had a loss recently I experienced a loss. Yeah, I can sense this Wow No, I did there was a I'm an empath There was a death Yes recently Yes Are you having a bit of trouble? Some of the details can be hard to keep a grasp of when someone passes Yes, I don't I don't Would you like to hear me play some piano and she Just walks over and starts playing Playing on the piano. Oh don't don't mind Veronica. She loves to entertain with her piano skills Please so you'll go to demonstrate this gift of yours is there. Ah, yes. Yes I ideally I would like if just some of the basic details So I can prepare in the correct manner. Of course. So what what do you need? What can I provide you with? Information of course. Oh, yes So so who who would I be trying to connect with in the beyond? Well my eyes go wide when I say beyond the The only death that we've had That's close to the family is my sweet Evangelion, but that was many years ago She died at Veronica's Broncos birth I'm sure I recall that you said that the reason Veronica is Dressed in this manner is to mourn the passing of someone. Oh recently passed. Uh, I Don't know who that could be. I'm not sure who that is Oh Is there any more to this? Have I told you about my my paintings? You're your yes. Yes, you'll put their marvelous. Yes, they're my marvelous paintings On an unrelated note Have you have you had some I know that you've had some extensions built on the the original building here at your find house Have you had anything done upstairs because you've there's some furniture's been moved from from upstairs and I noticed there's some sand well, yes, very There's a few a few months back That I I partook in Are you familiar with the a Bramolin operation? It is means to be able to Be able to contact contact things from beyond it's to be able to yes commune with angels Oh, yes, of course. Yes. Do you know give me an occult or I can I can lie? What do you okay fast talk lie? Because you not actually have any Knowledge of this. Yes, but I'm also shame. Okay. Sure. Oh, okay. Yeah. Okay. No. Oh, that's fine See I I try to perform form this ritual it took many months and in the end it failed but Veronica is going to pick up where I left off and she is going to Have a go at doing it herself During that process you are unable to drink and it requires vast amounts of study and and prayer and that is actually what we're Celebrating celebrating here tonight. Well, I make sense. Yes. Yes. This is the the journey she's embarking upon following in your footsteps Yeah, that's that's absolutely correct. She's there just playing away on the piano So why does this need sand? Oh That's a part of our Our orary upstairs. Oh, I love a good or it is It's part of it's part of our ritual It's of course because the celestial spheres This is correct. That's a great lie. That's actually exactly what I'm talking about it and Yes Can I Tell you anymore are we not doing your sounds? curious to know of There's I Think that attempting a ritual such as that Before you attempt your own ritual it may interfere with the energies Hmm, I am concerned. I don't want to bring negative energies and bad juju into your home Actually, he's he's nodding mm-hmm as a As he as you're saying that you Like just notice just passed him stood right next to the window outside is Is a woman with this long black hair hanging in front of her face and She just slowly raises up one hand and it has these kind of long-distended claws And she just grapes it against the window directly behind him Maybe a sandwich yeah Can I see it 36 okay, that's good cool. You can lose one point of sanity. Okay No, I can't see it okay now you So you let out and you look over It's not there It's it's gone Yes That's right Perry Absolutely nothing Yeah, this is great now about that the fuel So we we got to get the the as you say that Jeremiah comes in So the Gera fucking my Oh, hello, I'm speaking of it but all like this something like that Oh, so fuel We were after fuel weren't we Yes, and the basement's perhaps yes, right right away I'm sure Rosemary can show you Excellent. Yeah, I'm I can of course. Oh Okay, Rosemary's busy in the kitchen. She's definitely busy so busy you can you can still see her from where you are Sat just pottering around the kitchen just doing stuff Yes, I write this way. Let's go back to you guys in the God You go down you step down and just Refreshingly cool in in this place. Oh, why don't they start a fire in here bloody hell is chilly But it's quite nice compared to the outside and beautifully maintained very very expensive looking and You go down into this darkness and takes your eyes a second or two to adjust and in the middle of the middle of this place is this large beautifully carved sarcophagus
with what looks like a sculpture of August and Evangeline lying side by side hand in hand and both with that eye shot. You can see that there's sort of openings in the walls where other coffins could be interred but there's no other coffins there and there's sort of just generic scripture written around the place. The strike you was kind of weird that there's already a sarcophagus for him here and not the weirdest thing I think I've seen today but it is slightly odd to preempt your own death. I mean I guess you know you want to get the same artist for the sarcophagus I don't know how that works but like I don't know. So it is one large sarcophagus for yeah. Reading it is there anything that says like heroize August? Not that you can immediately see. There's nothing that gives that away. Can I do like a. Can I do like an occult road? I feel like I'm waded out by the shadow and I want to just like. the guy is a bit zany. I kind of just want to like look at the carvings and make sure as it like the graphic is from there's only thing weird that stands out. Sure. In the room. Yeah you can like a cult if you want to. Or I don't know which one it would be. Give me whatever you fancy. Spot hidden something. It's hard to roll from me I've got an occult so I do a cult so if we can get it. Oh 0-0-8. That is 8 isn't it? Yeah. Cool that is a nearly a critical success. I'm going to do that as well. I'd say don't worry about spending 3. I'm not going to do that. You look around and the light kind of plays tricks down here kind of reflecting from outside with some daffling of the trees and there are these angel sculptures all around the room sort of built into the structure like holding up the ceiling. Like it's really tastefully done but yeah yeah. You can see them all just like kind of staring down at this coffin. I don't know if I would have chosen these angels. I don't know if I would have put it. Is this what we're going to get? I don't think so. Just give me somewhere under a tree. Yeah I might have to sell a few more books. All of a sudden you hear a noise and a noise that comes from inside the cycle. What kind of noise is scraping off? I'm going to put myself between mesmergans and the silence. What's that noise? Can I try lessen? I've got a good lessen skill. Yeah you can. A good person can listen. Will you use your big ear? That is a 73. That's pretty high. Could I push it? Yeah. If you want to push it. I think he's got his head right up against it. You've got to have your head right up against it. Will he? Don't be silly. I'm going to. Come on. Don't be silly. Will you know? Get back. Will he? 57. That's not good because I needed a 40. A 40. I can't use my luck. Will he? You can't. Okay so you step forward. You can hear this noise. I got to know what this is. Oh will he? Come on. Someone might be trapped in this. Will he? You get kind of closer and closer. You're always having to kind of climb up on it. And as you move your ear across the top of this sarcophagus, this noise seems to be moving, moving with you. And it sounds like fingernails scraping on stun. Will he? Get back from that thing. It's definitely fingernails on stone inside this sarcophagus. Someone's trapped in there, telling you they're still alive. But then all of a sudden from. You're getting closer and closer to think thing. And then you hear a burst of laughter, quite extra of the ear. Make me a sanity roll. Oh my god. That's four of them. 28. 28. 28. He was just a point of sanity there. What have I started checking as well? You. You know what? You can. I can. I can, I can. See. So you hear. It's fucking me up. You see him. If you're getting scared, that's good. So yeah, you see your beloved husband. He's kind of cruel, and he's like, there's something in there. And like, will he get back? So what are you doing? You should be on there. Then you just hear this cackling laughter. And the iron gates at the top slam dunk. Oh shit. And then you give me a sanity roll. Oh, 61. 1 over. Okay, you are going to lose a point of sanity there. Oh no, wait, you can lose a little bit more. Yeah, I failed. 1. Okay, so yeah. What are the rules on losing sanity? If you lose more than a fifth of your sanity in one day, then you will go mad. If you lose more than five in one go, then you will have go temporarily insane. Don't question me on this. Like, I have to check it up every time that we come back and play it. Don't lose sanity. That's the rule. But it's fun. It's fun. I was. I was two points so far. That's okay. Yeah, you'll be fine for a little bit. Okay. Who was that? Who did that? What was that noise? Willie, we have to go. This isn't okay. Well, no, I think we're going to just cut away from you. That's the gate slam shot. And. Oh, yeah, you go back to. You're there with Jeremiah. And he takes you into the hallway of the building. And there is a like a doorway that looks like it leads into a staircase that goes down into. Into the basement. Okay. And he's like, oh, yes. What we're looking for fuel. Right. Yes. Right this way. Please, it's through. Through here. Could you go ahead? Oh, yes, the doors are a bit stiff. If you can open it for me, would be more than. Certainly. Okay. You give the door like a. A pole. Yeah. And it's a stiff door. It's a stiff door. Yeah. Yeah. And it's like, well, yes. I would actually say I should go first because it's a bit gloomy down here. A few years back. Rosemary, she had a fall. And it wasn't good. I could. I think I could sense that. I think I could see it in my brain. That's very good. Just for a moment. It's very nice. So he steps inside and he pulls a light switch. And this is a big basement. It kind of almost goes the entire size of the building. Okay. And it is stacked with boxes. There's furniture. There's stuff covered up. And when the lights come on, only about a third of it actually is illuminated. And in the distance, like in the further parts, you can see where lights are flickering on and off. I'm going to, I want to talk to Maggie. Pull the recite. Have I come as well? Oh, yeah. All right. I'm going to stand there alone. Stop doing. Doing piano with Rosemary. Maggie. Maggie. Mary. I saw a spirit. You saw it. I'm not. You make that a little. No, this is. I'm not making this up. I saw a ghost. I saw a ghost outside. It was a woman long, long hair scratching. She had big claws. Maggie. Maggie. Maggie, I'm not beessing you. Like I was when I was talking about your dad house. This is real. This is real life. Who for your part of tricks, Mary? I don't, I already have your money from a previous thing. Look, I don't need anything from you except your trust. We are in a bad situation. You're not trying to find me. You're from it, Perry. Look me in the eye. I promise me you're not just trying to wind me up. Can I fast talk her? Even though I'm not lying. You can fast talk, but you can oppose that. So you basically will both roll a dice. I'm not going to do it. Yeah, he seems pretty a little bit spooked. Okay. A little bit freaked out. And I guess he's probably never done this before. Give me a hip fast. Give me a hip fast. No, he's light to you. He's light to you a lot. So this is why I'm not so sure. Yeah, I think I. Peri. Peri. Remember when we went on that little night out, Jolly.
'cause I was bored and we broke into that person's house and you said that you saw a ghost in the corner and it was just winding me up. I feel like you're doing that again to me, Perry. I can't fulfill your tricks. - I do remember doing that. That was very funny. - It was, was it? - That was a great, great, great, great. - I got you good in that. - Where we come? It was a nightmare. We had to run. - God, I wish we were in a situation like that, but we're not. No, no, this wasn't a sheet with me under it. (laughing) I'm somehow talking to you and you're in the corner with a sheet. - Perry! - It was, I used mirrors. There's actually very clever. It's a lot of setting up. (laughing) - Are you two coming? I think I found where the gasoline might be. - That's lovely. Can you bring it up? - Oh, it's going to be very heavy. I don't think I can. - Perry, don't go down. - Peggy. - Peggy. - Peggy, we need to get out. - Is this, we need to get out of this house. - Perry, smile. - Do you swear on Dickie's ghost? (laughing) - Like he's gonna not lie about something. - I swear, I swear on my dead dogs life. - Let's Samuel. - Samuel. - Oh, we love him. - Scooter. Scooter Maggie. - Scooter. - Scooter. - Scooter, the Daniel. - The Daniel. - The Daniel. - I don't know, I don't know. - I've got to get it. - The one who's boggum all the time. - I sweet boy. - He was my only childhood friend. - Sweet Scooter. All right, fine. Okay, if I do believe you, what do you want me to do about it? - That's very Maggie of you. (laughing) I just want you to have my back. - All right, okay, I'm done. - Do you have a gun? - Are you nowhere with me, my dad? - I'm not sure how that's gonna work with ghosts. - Always knocking down your tiny, always knocking down your tiny. - I, it's worth a shot. - What, so she had no dark hair? - What the shot. - Like the, like the, like the, the dead women on the wall, long dark hair. - Oh. - Wasn't like, what did her ghost, wasn't it, Perry? - Was it her? - Was it her? - Do I think that it looked like? - Yeah, she was wearing a white dress. She had this like long dark hair covering her face. The woman in the painting didn't have like these kind of extended talon like clips. - Yeah, that's a new thing. - That's new. But time has passed since that painting. So she might have grown those out. - I am imagining 100%. - Would have been judgmented by the fashion choices. - Different times. - I think human from the grudge, like, you know. - Yeah, I mentioned a Victorian version of Sadako. - Nice, okay. - But longer, more distended claws. Sadako. - Lots of petty coats. - Crossed with the witch from Leffodette. - Sick, okay. (laughing) - All right, sorry, Perry. - Didn't get that. - Yes, I'm pretty sure it was, Evangeline. - Well, she's dead, Perry. - That's why she's a ghost Maggie. - Right, right, right. - It's hard to be a ghost if you're not dead. Unless, you know, when I did that thing to you. - Yeah, well, it was a jean in the vodka. - Yeah, okay. - Well, let's get the bloody hair out of here. Let's get the bloody gassy, - Okay, so we need to get this gas early. - Yeah. - I'm gonna go down into the scary basement. - Right, I'll stand up here with the darenger. - Okay. - I'll just shoot blindly into the darkness if you scream. - I'll be holding a barrel of gasoline. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Okay, how about you don't have the gun out? - Me? - Just. (laughing) - Why didn't you take it, Perry? You take it, Perry. Oh, wait up here. - Am I gonna take your gun? - No, I've got my magic forces. Force the gun into your hands. No, you tell me what you're saying. - Maggie, I have Maggie. - Oh, you're packing heat, I forgot. - All right, well, I'll keep mine, then. - All right. - All right, well, just scream if you need me. I'll be all right. - All right, thank you. You are a great help to make great friends. - That's always swinging from my flip-hars. No more is darling, Perry. - Fuck my life. I'm going into the fucking basement. - It's fine. - Okay, yeah. - So you head down these like creaky, creaky stairs. Oh, you can see Jeremiah, like he stood, and you can see him a little bit further, 20 feet away from you. With the like, he's getting half illuminated by this light that's kind of like flicking on and off. - Okay, I'm pretty sure I've got a lighter, man. - Okay, shall I roll for luck? - I think you left that behind, didn't you? - I'm not always so well. - No, I'm gonna carry it on my purse. - Okay, so you could have a lighter. - That's fair. I don't have a lighter. - Now you do have a lighter. It's out of gas. - I don't know that yet. - Yeah, yeah. But you're holding the lighter in your pocket, knowing that you can illuminate any moment. - Fucking great. - But the part that you're in, - Okay. - Definitely as well, lit. And you're walking past those boxes. It looks like furniture, kind of like horribly there's this big, big kind of bookcase with all of Veronica's old porcelain dolls sat there all lent against each other. The light slowly flashing and illuminating their faces. And. - I'm not happy. - Just like an old rocking horse is sat there. What looks like a kind of disused kind of wheelchair on its side as you go down this kind of passageway towards - Do I actually nudge against like a little box and it's like a music box and it just just starts playing very gently. - The horse is rocking. - You make it to a Jeremiah. - Mm-hmm. - And. - I got to go, they took a very long time. Fucking ages. - I'm sorry, I had to talk to my dear friend Maggie about a personal matter. She's the woman's thing. (laughing) You know, I don't want to go into the industry. - Oh, yes, I have a wife, but I actually quite like her and then quite, I wouldn't discuss that. - No. - With other things. - Well, we're not dating or married or anything. - You just hit ha! - In the bathroom. - In the bathroom. - Yeah. - That he heard, huh? - Well, here's the gasoline. - Okay, yes. - Is it like a big. - Yeah, it's like a big, like a, yeah, another sort of, just like the ones that were outside, like there's two gummy cans. - When I hold it, can I feel it, it's weight and it's sloshing. - Oh, yeah, this is empty. This is completely empty. - I'm like hitting it and it's just a hollow piece. - Yeah. He's like, oh, that, well that's, no bloody good is it. I thought we had gasoline here. - What's going on with all these gasoline? What are you using it all along? - There's all the gasoline gone. As you're, like kind of chatting about that, you can see, like in the dark under the sort of, like the flickering light kind of curved around, there's like a, there's like a shape. There's like a weird, weird shape on the ground over there. - Oh, like lying on the ground. - But I'm not there. - Yeah, like lying on the ground. - Okay. - Like a weird, a weird shape. - Probably not saying. - Okay. Okay. Well, I guess we'd best get back to the others. - Oh, yes. - I just thought trolling back on the fucking stairs. - Hey! - Hello! Hello! - Hey, is it nice shoot? What's going on? - Hello, hello. - Hey, we're an exciting man. - Okay. - We're gonna be fine. Stay up there, Maggie. (laughing) - Right away. Well, we could always phone for, - Ah, yes, the phone. - Oh, I'm sure this phone's going to work! (laughing) - Oh, yes, I'm sure it'll be absolutely fine. - Yes! - And yeah, you come, head back upstairs and. - Maggie, Maggie, get the phone. Get the phone, it's over there. - All right, all right, all right, all right. So. - I had a phone's work back then. - They're like there. - You would, it's like so. - I wrote you two. - I wrote you two. - I think this is actually even pre-rotory. - That you might be going. - You just told me you're going straight to an operator. Or you might dial an operator and then they'll connect you. - So dial zero or something? - Boom. - Okay. - You, grab the phone. - Grab the phone. - Hey, operator, here. - Hello there. I'd like to, wait, who am I calling? - You, normally you would tell me. (laughing) - I don't know, that's just the operator. - Maggie. - Do we want like a cab or. - Who, they're Perry. Who am I calling Perry? The cab, cab, cab. - Cab company. - Cab company. - Cab company is calling pickers up. - Sure. I mean, we're a long way out. - Yeah. - Wait, do you not have a friend with a car? - Oh, well, we're bloody far away from home, aren't we, Perry? I can't get someone to drive all the way out here. Where are hours away? - You're well connected, socialite woman. You must be fucking nervous. I'm sorry. Sorry, I'm the biggest way. - You must not want. - Come on Maggie. - Oh, no. Oh, I don't want to bother anyone. I don't call the cab company. - Cut up, Perry. This will be fine. You know, that's a noise that they make. - Okay, I'll put you through to a local. - Hey. - Cab company. - Thank you, darling. Thank you. What fancy one? Don'ts with the Rolls Royces. Get the Porsche cars, please. - Oh, no. Okay. - Thank you. - Maggie, we need just a normal cab. We might have to wait like a week for a Rolls Royce show. - Yeah, you want like a real fancy one. I'm so, you can get you one there in a month. (laughing) - We're at. - Do you know Whalond Estate? - The Whalond Estate. - Yes. - Wait, I guess you'll now through to a camp company. - Oh, okay. - One nearby. - All right. - Go, how you doing? - Hello there. Yeah, Whalond Estate, look, that's a bit far off town. It's gonna check us out at least now together. - Oh, it's fine. - It's maybe, well, 45 minutes, maybe. - Oh, it will have there's a bit of bonus if you put your pedal to the metal. - Well, these are fancy cars, and they're also fast cars. - Wonderful. - 45 minutes, it'll be there. So, I'm like very much hesitant to actually fully commit. - I like the boy you cried while you were doing it. - Yeah. - Yeah. Yeah, so if we just, I don't hang around in the front room for 45 minutes, it's never gonna be hard. - And that concludes this episode of Call of Cthulhu, the Satinine Chalice.
