Call of Cthulhu: The Edge of Darkness #3

The provided transcription is a composite of audio content. It begins with promotional material for an interactive podcast titled "No Quest for the Wicked," inviting listeners to join a sci-fi narrative. This is followed by a brief, dramatic audio clip depicting a castaway discovering a plane and facing the choice to leave their island life. The core of the text is an actual play recording of a Call of Cthulhu tabletop role-playing game session, continuing the adventure "The Edge of Darkness." The player characters are investigating a creepy, abandoned farmhouse connected to a missing woman and a dark ritual. Upon arrival, they discover a dead raccoon and, later, a dog skeleton in a barn, both with their chests horrifically and cleanly ripped open, suggesting unnatural causes. After some deliberation and minor mishaps, the group enters the main house. While split up, one character, Archie, is attacked by an unseen assailant in the dark basement, sustaining a major head wound. The session ends with the party regrouping outside, tending to the injury, and reacting to a stranger fleeing the scene.

[Music] Hey, Cox! You ever listen to an actual play-pike cast and think, "I want to play at that table?" No quest for the wicked, it's gotcha. When a planet mysteriously appears in the Castle Ball Solar System, it sparks a chaotic stramble of corporation scientists and adventurers. Little do they know, a dark threat hangs over them. And the only two can stop it, are Linnigant, a father looking for a new start and Flipwick, a privileged DJ setting out to prove himself to his family. But they have a secret weapon. You, the listener, join the council and vote on important decisions, create and name NPCs, form factions with other listeners and even influence the hands of fate themselves. So don't wait, visit noquestcast.com to claim your seat at our table. You lazily wake up to the soothing sound of lapping waves. You slowly make your way out of your bamboo shack. And as is customary every morning, you carve another notch on the wooden doorframe. There's over 500 now. You sorter onto the beach, where you're greeted by your best friend in the world. It's Dr. Coconut, the monkey, and he's got a platter of fresh fruit prepared for you. You sit down and share in this sumptuous feast. But all of a sudden, you're disturbed, a noise overhead. My god, it's a plane. The first human contact you've seen since your ship ranked here. You grab a flaming torch and hurry to the signal pile you said a month ago. But as you go to ignite it, you hear a noise behind you and turn. It's Dr. Coconut, looking up at you for lonely. You know you could never take him back to civilization with you. Do you like the fire and leave all that you've built here behind? Or are you on a mystery quest? And welcome back everybody to Call of Cthulhu and the Adventure, the Edge of Darkness. Previously on mystery quest, after making their way to the farming community of Ross's Corner and hearing the troubling news of a missing woman named Maggie McFurther, they set off to the accursive place where these horrors were conceived. It's now maybe kind of like one, two o'clock in the afternoon. So the sun is still high, it's still like bright outside. But as you look at this kind of building with these sagging shots, kind of covering the windows. Behind them it's there, they're like all cracked and like just covered in filth and grime. Like they look so dark inside. And there is something that almost feels like it's like pulling you towards this building. Like this building is waiting for you to go inside. And that it has been waiting for you for years. Did the sarcophagus in my pocket? You still have the sarcophagus? Am I feeling anything? No, no, no, totally chill. But around this farmhouse, next door to it is like a big old barn, the door ever so slightly ajar. There is an old well off to one side, where the rope hanging into it has rotted away years ago. And yeah, you can kind of make out roughly like some flower beds and things like that that maybe once would have been flower beds, but no longer, no longer are. Can someone give me a spot hidden role? Well, I love these. It's a key name. 23. Three. Yeah. So I think like as you're pottering around, you know, just idly kicking a stone or something, you come across the dead raccoon. And it looks like it has been killed by something. Its chest is like all ripped open. And looks like it's been here for a couple of weeks, but it's still like a unsettling psych. Give me a sanity role on that. I also would probably film it. Okay. It is like the rock. But like Tom's like playing content warning. It's just filming everything. Oh yeah, do you have a subconscious? 85. Go, you can just lose a point of sanity. I'll just get like my little toolbox and bladder out of the car as we get like ready parking up and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. 100% do that. But yeah, there is this like dead ripped open. But yeah, I like that I'm filming the house. I'm looking at angles and then see the raccoon. I'm going to go to see if anything goes. They said they hid their ritual to a kutramort somewhere. And I can't quite remember where they said they hid it. It probably should find that. I believe it was just hidden in the house. Alan went back in the morning to receive some of the balloons and store our ritual to kutramort. I guess it's somewhere. But maybe we should check the barn first. See what's going on in there. Hopefully he didn't toss it down the well. (laughing) Tidical Alan. Alan. Oh, it's all down there in the well. Well, I don't think we should be messing around too much. We should just get it on with it. You know, it's a tutt was a put off. It was a put off. It was a put off. It was a put off. Well, okay then. Need the way into the barn. It does say in this letter, you did it with the Ruperweptus, the method of delivering this thing out of the world is still in that accursed house. So, I mean, maybe it's hidden around there. But I don't know if they just left it on the front door or something. It would be very handy. People don't have a fall foot like this now. So yeah, cool. You want to head to the barn? To the barn. Cool. Yeah, like as you kind of like move slightly around to the side of the house, you can see there's like a wood store that looks like it's collapsed and wants stacked high with wood, which is now half-rotted or covered with mould. Like, this wood has seen 20, 30 years of no one has touched it. And yeah, this big barn. You can head on inside. It is dark in there. And like the roof is held up pretty good. And if you want to have a good poke round, give me a spot. Yeah, I'm going to have a lot of fun on the boss of the mall. Yeah, I'm going to have a light with filming light. Do you? I haven't brought that up before. Romeo, like, roll. I'm a mobile film unit. He's home. Tom, he's carrying a film. He just has a low filming equipment. And I've got a big bag full of film equipment. Maybe I've got like a. It's a really cool big bag. I don't know. Maybe a flash. I don't know something. What's your one? What am I going to be rolling against? Your luck. 77. Oh, yeah. Have it. Yeah, you've got like a big, big kind of torch. I think like 77 on my spot heading. Ooh. No. Okay, well, we'll get to that. So you will have a torch. But I guess Mr. Miggins, you've seen barns and stuff like this before. And you kind of go barreling in there. And yeah, on that fail, you have like stuck your foot through like a floorboard and kind of tumble down. Ah, jeez! Fords. And you take three points of damage as you really wrench your ankle. Oh, really? No. It's okay, Fanny. It's okay. Ah, my leg. And yeah, you crash onto the ground and there's like some broken glass in here. And in my forehead. And you have to do it. You have to do it. And just like some broken glass in here. And in my forehead. And that will help. Yeah. You just got like a nasty scratch. Like maybe your palm is kind of cut open. And what, watch yourself and hear everyone. It's a bit far apart. Yeah. You're fully apart. When you pull yourself together, what are you doing? Oh, yeah. Come on, be careful. I shouldn't have carried this ladder in here. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It was a real, real different choice. But yeah, there's not like a ton going on in this barn. It looks like there's some really old farming equipment. All of it is super duper rusty. It has just been exposed to the elements enough. Kind of like an old plow. There's a bunch of lumber, stuff like that. There's a few tools that look like they've seen better days. Kind of like a sledgehammer, like a pick or something along those lines. But they're all fairly rotten. Is there like a storage cupboard or chest or anything? No, it looks pretty sparse. The potentially you would guess that even when the merry weather owns this place, they weren't really using this barn a lot. It just looks like it hasn't been touched in a long time. Hey, Fanny, when did it say that they came back to hide the tools? In '77, that same year, the whole whole shindig went down. Yeah, I was wondering if there was any like fresher looking floorboards or anything that maybe indicated they headed under there or something. But yeah, I guess not. I think you might have hit your head, Mr. McGee. There's nothing in here. It's just a barn. Let's take you back to the car and get you bandage down, Joey. I shine my light in the hole that Mr. McGee's fell in just in case there's something under the floorboards. Maybe if there's hidden something down there. You hear me a spot hidden? Oh, take that. You brave soul. 69. 69. Nice. You can give me another Sanasi check. Fuck, I'm fucking. 27. 27. Under here, you look down and there is kind of the skeletal form of a dog under these floorboards. And it has its chest has been split wide open. And you've got down there with your light and as you turn around looking in this crawl space under this, you just face the face. with this horrific form of a dog that looks like it was hiding under here and it's Chester's chest has been cracked open. Okay everyone I've seen quite a lot of animals with their chests ripped open around the place. I've seen a raccoon over there there's dog under here there's- Did you film them both? The film them both of course production value, not gonna miss out on there. I'm a bit unnerved by it though I must say it's a little unsettling great for the movie bad for my brain health that's all I'm saying. So fine trade off Hachi. Yes. I'm gonna know and we have seen I would have was ripped over all these chests and these horrible things. We were nosy round. Like so if you want to if you're wondering about the animals you're welcome to look at them if you've got a natural world science. I want to look at the animals or look at the tracks the animals. I just see what's kind of caused this weird this weird form of death. Have a look at the animals. I'm just gonna really fucking look at the thing that's scary. Yeah 23 that's a great success. It's actually a fire. Not no so it's a good the half success. Okay so if as you look at the raccoon you don't you know you're not able to work out as much from the the dog the under the barn as it looks like it's been dead for a long time. But it's definitely got like a smashed ribcage. Oh so they've been different different about some time. Yeah. Whereas this raccoon which looks like it can't be dead more than a week or two. I'm gonna say it's hard as being ripped out. I want a sanity check from you because the this wound is way too clean. 34 is a good good row. I'm currently 54. Yeah cool no you'll find it's startling but this wound is so surgical. It's not been done by a wild animal. It's not something that has ripped or torn. It is like being punched out of its chest or something is not what not not what things would look like. Yeah it is not so good. God this is very strange. It's just seemed to have popped right out of these poor creatures. I don't quite get it. I think you know I also thought I thought the creature we were coming to look for was in the attic. What it was safely locked away that's what Ruput said didn't he? Is it out here ripping out his hearts? What are we doing here? Is it the creature that's doing it? It's a little weird. It's a weird some weirdo from the village. I find it a very strange coincidence that the lady should go missing so close to this place on such a day. Especially if our friend Ruput had passed away yesterday evening. Is he dead? This is like cool looks like it's been gone for weeks. Something's going on with these animals. I don't think Ruput's dead there. You don't? Yeah. Well he might be dead by the time he finishes the conversation. He was literally coughing his lungs inside out last time we saw him. Yeah. As you're having this conversation, you look up at the attic of the house and the little cracked window at the top. It just looks evil. Can I? You can zoom in. Is there a window or is there something like? Yeah, yeah. That can be like a little window. Maybe you can try my light. I don't know. In a silent-y speedy way. From the outside you won't be able to make any illumination. It's really beautiful day out here. I think I'm just like I know a lot about horror and stories and I am a bit scared and I think I just want to see before because we're about to go in. I'm like I just want to see if I can. This is great found footage but it's you like zooming on this window but it is just just pinky black inside. I just want to have a pick down the well or shall we keep putting this off? Give me the key. Let's go into this house and have a fumble around. Well if you bought your own. I don't know. I don't think I'm weird in there. And you? Well why have you bought the funny figure otherwise? Well it's unlikely to just just have a little bit of cool. We ain't gonna need. We're not gonna need a gun. It's just gonna be some local kids in there causing a bit of a ruckus. We're gonna get even more reason to bring a gun. Shoot the kids. All right. It's the right time. 20s. Why are you so shocked? I feel like expedition leader you lead the way old friend. Well yes okay. At the top. Passing the key is begging. Let's get over there to show on the road. There you go. See you head up to the front door and very obviously carved above it is some kind of symbol. Hanging next to it is like a gas lantern like an old gas lantern. Oh what a tease. We have to have these in the desert. Man. And I like it. It looks like the it has been out here for a long time. It needs more oil. It needs more oil. A change of wick. It needs a change of wick. I've got some fuel. I don't know if that worked. No it's daytime. We're all right. It's doing the afternoon. Give me that key. I'm gonna use a key. I'm gonna use a key. I'm gonna use a key. Yeah so you slide the key into the lock. You crack open the door and with like a high pitched like shutter and up squeal the door slowly judders open and yeah you are met with like this weird like weird smell of rotting meat. And off to one side or one of the windows you can see above the window frame is a similar symbol as carved into that and these look like they are carved deep into the wood. Do you recognize the symbol from the book? I don't think you would but you would not say it's a million miles away. You wouldn't know the individual symbol but it's a wacky symbol that you don't know what it looks like and that you've seen loads of symbols in the book. Okay. Sweetheart is just kind of like maybe one of those entrapment-roan things that's keeping it stuck in the house. I don't know that. A cult stuff like you guys do but it does look like the the ones from the movie from the movie. The symbols. Yes. There we go. It just looks like symbols. Yeah. I don't know. We should hand side. Yes. So as you all go into the front room of this house there is like an old rotting kind of two-seater sofa with a wingback chair next to it a small kind of coffee table beside them. Like a larger kind of dining table with a bunch of seats around it like a big cast iron fire sort of like cooking stove with a little chimney that pokes out the wall and there's a door that leads into the second room of this house. Next to that door is like an opening with a set of stairs that go down into a basement. Give me a listen roll. Oh I'm getting that. I'm getting that. Just- Herb is kind of like the best just hit me up. Cool. Bery for. Wow. You listen better. You hear like a scratching noise downstairs. Like a little like ever so something moved like a creek of wood from underneath you. Oh that makes sense. They must have like some rats or possums down there. Like probably- Do you think, Willie? I think we've seen had this harp ripped out. Yeah. You know maybe these small ones scurrying inside the walls. Wow. A big scary monster can't get at them. Yes. Yes. Hopefully. I didn't know that. Do we know there was a downstairs or something? There's a basement where there looks a bit. Major pull some curtains up and get some light in here. Stuffy. Without cleaning these windows they are just caked in phase. Okay. The- and like sort of dirt and just they've been exposed to the elements for a long time. Basically very little natural light is coming in here. It is oppressively cramped feeling because of how dark it is and sort of how just musky the air is in this place. Okay, Mr. Miggins. Let's go and get that cast though. Let's pull them outside for a moment. Just a little bit of air. Yeah. We should get some oil and refill that. Yeah. It's very impressive in here. Actually come on let's go downstairs. These old boys. Well that's dealing around. I think while they're outside I'm already just like sucked in by filming details. You're already like cameraman mode. Yeah. I've exactly sucked in to just like the texture and all the way it looks and I'm thinking all this is exciting for a minute. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. That's all. And you're with me I guess. I'm only liking around. I'm just like we have to get this thing done. It's got other stairs. We'll see what's going on down there. Give me another listen roll. I didn't hear it so I'm not- No, but it's just um- 85 definitely didn't pass. Right. You say come on Archie. Let's go downstairs and he's just like yes yes yes and just filming. Yeah. And you did not listen to her. Okay. Okay. So you- I'm just going I'm going on downstairs. So it's like these creaky wooden steps leading down into like it is real, real dark in here. You can just like, there's a tiny bit of like illuminating and it smells of kind of just like sort of dust and dirt. Just musky. Just as you're about to make a step to the the bottom. Can you make me a dodge roll? Mrs. Miggins, a six-year-old lady died in a farmhouse last week. I was actually not bad at dodge in 50 and I rode Oh 86. Oh, 86. Yeah, I won't be living too cool. You take five points of damage. Fuck. That's not my health. Something hits you. Hard in the head. You don't, don't, don't, don't. Like, let's half my health. Let's half your health. Ooh, that is a severe injury. What is that called? You can mark a box on your piece of paper for Matt Major wound. Major wound. Oh, you know him. Nice. Nice. Something hard clogs and knocks you to the ground. Would I hear this? Oh god. I think if you're outside, she's underground. Fifty-nine. And I have wasnsing forty. Yeah, you don't hear like she's down there. You're outside. The Major's chatting away to you. I guess I'm next closest, but Sure, give me another listen roll. See if you heard her cry out. I think this one can be a straight straight roll. Fifty-seven note. You don't even hear that. You're just filming away and someone shot you get shot to over. I've got big heavy back. Yeah, I think you clattered, clattered to the floor as you're like filming, filming in this place. There's something is barged into you and then Mr. Miggins and the Major, this guy holding a, what looks like a table leg, comes running out of the building and just begins screaming and just starts running off into the business. Someone who did not come with you guys. Stop. What the. Are you okay, sir? He's just like. and is just hollowed running away. Oh my god. Well, we rushed back into the house. Good day, elephant gun. No, we just rushed back into the house. I was running right out of the check. These two. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cool. Yeah, you see Archie is kind of picking himself up off the floor, checking his camera equipment. Fanny! Honeybun! What does my major wound mean? I think you've taken a severe head injury. You probably are going to have a concussion. Basically, it means that if you go to zero health, you have a very good chance of dying. Okay, cool. I mean, oh no. Oh no. But yeah, getting some first aid all medicine is probably a good idea at some point. But. Really? I need my willy. I'm spreading those there. Probably trot over Archie. Just the straight bone. Oh, honey, help me. I have an attack. Oh, like scoop her up, carry her up, both stay at the outside. Yeah, you can take her upstairs and. Yeah, she's bleeding from this just nasty gash on her head. Get out my little. They got my thinking side. Get out my little hand, you just start dabbing it and stuff, like maybe tie it around. Yeah, do you know first aid or anything like that? I don't but I can try. You're welcome to give it a go. You would try, wouldn't you? Yeah, I think I would try in this situation. Ferry one, I'm going to use a luck because it says Ferry Percent. Cool! Yeah. Okay, right. Use one luck. You can heal a hit point. That's the hanky I worked my curse hands on. Thank you, Witcher. A Roo. And he's managed to. the stem the bleeding with a combination of. Just what he has on him, he's managed to. Like give you a rough bandage. You get my water out, pour it on the wind, wait for all of that. I don't know what happened, I just was downstairs and something clanked to me. Oh, that bastard I swear if I see on me must have clanked you on. Did he what? So the man he ran out of the screen, he had the table like he screamed. What? He'd be really tall. He's here, Major. You foolish dog woman. Do you try and go down here? It's not on your shoulder. I told you about this. I love it. Everyone else is a young lady. I know. Now now, Major, don't you be talking to my family. Well, Major, if you guys were some of Fessica, I would be going to the room. What are you doing outside? Lonnie gagging. Why are you throwing yourself into these situations? Get the hell off of Gunna get down to that pissboard! We're tearing ourselves apart! Very good. Yeah. Um. Man, intense. That guy's long gone. Yeah, your head is sore, but not the. End of the world. You're okay, Fanny. Are you okay? I'm not gonna die, but it does hurt. It's bleeding. Blood is fine. It's fine. Do you want me to take your home and do the good work? No, I think it's okay. We can do this. It must be some sort of squat or vagrant living in this space. Did you get a good look at him? What? Did you see? Push me to the ground. I didn't even see him. I got a good look at him. Is he kind of running out the door? Yeah. Is the camera. Yeah, I must find more importantly. What do you look like, I can't see? So he was wearing. like a kind of red flannel sort of shirt with like, bridges and. Oh my god, he was a Canadian. And he had a Mounties hand and a Canadian flag. A Canadian flag. A lot of a jackass. And he was riding a moose. And he was playing ice hockey. And he was eating pooties. I'd apologise to see that. I'd hear you had your apologise. He was screaming apologies as he. as he left. You didn't get the best look at him. But. Shabbily dressed. But. Find him in Tim Hortons. But definitely holding some kind of. chair, general table like. There's already a man here. So, what was in here? I don't quite understand. What happened? I was just going down the stairs and he just clobbed me. Are we all down in the basement now? You can all go down into the basement. Well, let's go. I thought you were at the bottom of the stairs. Can you one of you get all these bleeding pistols or guns out and protect us, please? All right, all right. For all right, Fanny. We're not going to get attacked again, am I? All right, I'm drawing my pistol just for. for her safety. I don't carry away, but I'm not. I'm just the best. The best of the safest. The only thing that's unloaded. Okay. That's good to know. That's got wrench. Okay, cool. I'll go the back with a light in my camera. Just filming over the shoulders and lighten the way. Tom's just on a film. I always love it. Just this amazing found footage moving a bit of shooting. Yeah, I love this. I wouldn't have that opportunity. So yeah, you head down into this kind of like. with the torch. A lot of this is like. You know, you're getting some fairly good illumination. And it is this like hard. like packed dirt floor. with kind of like basic brick walls like leading down this basement under the building. And there's a lot of clutter in here. Like there's some kind of crates with supplies. Like a whole load of. just like lumber down in here. What looks like a kind of work bench with some tools, a drill, a chisels, you know, like a vice to do some like basic handy work around the place. Sores, things like that. And like a big shelf full of supplies. These most look expired. Tins of dusty, you know, just preserved fruits and things like that. A few jars of pickled. pickled things. Like a beautiful sort of silver tea set that has been terribly tarnished just from being left down here for so long. And tins full of dried tea leaves. Like the bottom of that shelf is covered in like there must be two dozen bottles of spirits of like a few different varieties. Like whiskey, port, rum, you know, maybe vodka or something like that. Like a lot of alcohol down here from before prohibition was a thing. And there is a like a broken table missing its leg kind of on like face down and a few extra chairs in this place. And it's like big tarpolling in the corner of the room. It's like big, big bundle. I would go with that basically. Or with that tarp up. Yeah, underneath this top is like this big fairly ornate kind of traveling trunk. The looks fairly in fairly good condition. Under this like big like wax coated top type thing. Like a little little dusty on the outside, but actually great. Dust off teeth. There's a name engraved in the way there are anything or things like that. Like teeth is some sort of that. Is the name of all it. Which is a it says Marion Marion Allen. I think I think I got some of me. Then I'm going to like unfasten it if I can and open it up. Cool, yeah, yeah, so it's got like done up with like big big buckles and but you can easily get in there and the The leather which is kind of dried kind of cracks a little bit as you pop it open But it seems like it's been all very very well preserved and Inside is you kind of like pull out there's a lot of this black material in there Which you So soon work out to be it looks like robes robes of this kind of strange You know sort of velvety felt like fabric, which is very nice a like this large cigar box and There's also a bunch of sort of like yellowed yellowed papers in there I instantly pass the papers to you guys. That's not my 40 Yeah, and uh, maybe we got to put these robes on maybe they're like part of the ritual of something That that means it's to me Look great on camera. Yes, it will feels really nice actually Major open it in the head. Why didn't you take this one? You know a little look at it for me Please go on for your charm. My goodness Well, this is just nonsense. I can't read any of this. Why is it a different language major? Or do you just can't understand the right? I think it's a fresh. Oh, oh Oh What do you I would just start reading it out? Tell me go Oh spirit as boss per potentian sapientian Very terrible Maybe you shouldn't read it out. I start doing the hand symbols You suppose this is the this is Latin. You know, no, we haven't looked at it. So there are six copies of That I see no suppose it's the chant. Do you? This could be the child that we're looking for that they did to to summon the beast And I guess maybe we have to do it to unsummon it. Well, it's um trapped in the attic right like we got to get up there So they didn't they say they chanted for two hours or something Fuck this then let's go back Yes, no, I do think so well Let's not make the assumption that the way to get rid of it is the same as the way to summon it. I mean that well That you just summon them all of the blood is true But if anything we need to just ensure that the ritual circle is reinforced right that's what we're These are bare minimum we can stop the thing roaming What did the journal said? Did it say the way to trap it is to do the same again or just it's in the house? The method of delivering this thing out of this world is still in that accursed house the translations made by Marion from the book That's not the translations. Oh, there's two other things that are in that sheep in yellow I mean like stone chalk drawings yellow papers Ah, I just think there you go Go on, mate. You have a look at this one. What have you got here? What does this one say? Well, it looks like it's some journal of Marion, Erlin. Maybe there's some translations in that It was written 20th of March 1877 23rd of March 23rd of March There's no way that fits in a timeline. That's long after the the ritual took place About a week or half so if so Looks like he's written the whole thing. George, you read it Go through it. I don't know why I'm putting this down on paper It's probably a bad idea, but I feel they need to leave some kind of explanation for my actions and intent When I took the sarcophagus from my uncle, I did not think it would be missed I expected to be able to research it and return it later, but I was such a fool Despite believing in the powers we tried to summon, I grossly misunderstood the consequences now robot is dead and Harold a madman I'm going back to the farmhouse to organize our things. I dread stepping foot again in that place But I must make sure that our materials will be available again when we need them Since the others are too shaken to attempt a banishment of the creature I can only hope that the thing hasn't the power to remain in our reality More than a few hours or days At least it's bound to the house itself I shall search for a means to destroy it before the last of us passes from this world And it's released from the house if it is still there I believe I know where I can find the knowledge I need to drive the creature away Without assistance from others I hear tales of mystics in new Orleans that know much of the true magic of the world I'm leaving the box in Rupert's care I told him not to sell it or have it appraised by anyone and I did not tell him what He also seems puzzled by my insistence not to live in Boston But I believe he trusts my judgement not to put himself in danger unwittingly My uncle does not know about our dark brotherhood So Rupert and the others will be safe from anyone looking for it I'll be back to put things right again Yes, I write this pro I close the lid on the trunk The thing is still in the attic of the house Seems to recognise me and spoke foul curses to me I will carve protective Wards on the trunk To prevent any tampering with its contents just in case Mariana Very good Well, that makes sense why it's kind of in good condition then Yes But I guess we have to do this bloody thing Do we think we've got everything we need from learning the trunk Well, I've got a nice symbol that I suppose maybe that's the symbol that was talked about on the floor It's pentagram Do we need to make this thing back into amber and lock it in the sarcophagus Is that what Ireland's implying? I mean That's why the box is still needed It did come out of the amber so that makes sense Maybe somehow re-reaperate it back into amber Don't really understand Possibly So then if you like to buy a jacket the store will be Yeah, I bought some books of children's chalk Yes Yeah, it's smiley faces on the edge With that other note that you have Can you give me a translation a Latin role on it? Yeah, sure With the chant What? 20 clean That is 20 clean That is half raw You Know you can translate it Oh You can Your Latin lessons kind of come back They finally they finally come back to me Being blocked on the head I actually returned by my Latin translating skills I believe they mean something along the lines of Oh spirits You I exercise by the power wisdom and virtue By the divine knowledge By the dark void By the name of the old ones The root trunk Source And the origin of all other divine names Whenst I all draw their power Their life and power I exercise you by the name of Nya love love depth Nya love depth Is that what I said that one right? There's Signifying the most excellent bringer of wisdom His majesty so high and brighter than the stars of the void I exercise you by the most powerful name of Asafov The All Powerful Who shall punish the crimes I exercise your command You absolutely O'Demon In whatsoever part of the universe you may be By the virtues of all these names here you and obey Well as you say Asafov And as you say Nya love hotel There is like Like a creek in the house Both times like What a random The house kind of Maybe it's old But it is like a big big heavy creek Um, sorry to interrupt you No You alright? Maybe you shouldn't read that out but it is good to know Well I want to share the information with everybody Otherwise you know Yes goodness this chance sounds very powerful stuff Is this quite powerful stuff isn't it? Yes or goodness me I'm Should we try all of us saying that we're wearing the ropes and standing in the. Should we get into the ropes then? Should we have a little You want us to get to the ropes? Believe that now you have read that passage and seen the symbol You would know exactly You would have a far easier time navigating that book Um, do you vermous mysteries? Okay sure Now you guys actually know what you would be looking for in there Yes Archie why don't actually No now my refreshing course of Latin's come back to me by reading this all powerful demonic charm Oh yeah Why don't we crack open the film Get the TV on upstairs you know A little movie night? A little movie night A little movie night Let's do it Alright I've got the projector on my back We can set something up again Maybe we should just check the rest of the house out Just I mean Well we know the things in the blindy attic I don't want to go up there Well should we yeah should we look at the attic whole Just to see where it is Are we doing the ritual in the attic? I think eventually we'll have to Well maybe we should just you know By filling it with this information in the book that might be I just want to make sure we get everything out of the film before we lose the opportunity to I don't time to get away from us And that's not to be able to check the film If it suddenly says don't wear red Don't even really treat me wherever red Do you realise it's take off my socks You know Do you prepare yourself then I can be allergic to have a quick peek in the attic And see if there's anything in there I can hear it You and really have a peek in the attic I mean actually we'll have no scrub through the film Can I just think we do Yeah honey Yeah you just you stay safe out there okay Do you stay safe Oh you stay safe - No you stay safe. - No you stay safe. (laughing) - One of you is like the big bandage head, the whole bandage head. - That's what I'm saying. - No you stay safe. - No you stay safe. - Cool, so you head back upstairs and that's, so there is a second room to this house. Like you've only been into the front room where you went down the stairs to the basement. - Sure, I guess. - Going through into the second room, there is a large stone fireplace in here with a chimney that goes out of the top of the building. There is like a kitchen table in here and what looks like some camping gear. Like there's a sleeping bag and a sort of bindle-type thing and there are some scant embers in the fire of maybe a fire that was made last night or still there, a half eaten tin of pork and beans lays on the ground with a tin spoon. If anyone wants to give me a really good spot hidden or something. - Not on them. - No. - 91. - I wrote 91 as well. - These are all too much. - Wow, I was about to put a push. - A spot hidden, is that a thing you can do? - Yeah. - That'll be fun. - Like you really poke around. - 66. - That's a fail. - Oh, can I use luck if I use push? - I don't know if you can. I think I do that you can. But I mean, for this one, I will let you use it because I'll use sex luck then to make that a success. - Cool, okay. You would infer this belongs to a vagrant and it looks like it was abandoned in haste. They were disturbed and that's from this scene you can piece together how the can is on the ground and the contents are spilled out. It's still wet. The tin just, the spoon just kind of flung to one side. This person did not leave this neatly. You think there was a disturbance that happened here. - I may explain the gentleman that was downstairs. - Yes. - So the back, there is a back door to this building as well and it is ever so slightly a jar with some kind of fresher muddy footprints have come in from the outside. There is also a hatch up into the attic in this room as well. - You know what I think? - Like directly in the middle of the room. - Maybe this was the farm hand and they maybe came here to fall around away from her husband. - Maybe, yes. - And then they got spooked. - Well, when we drove up and then they clobbed me with a bloody bit of table. - I've told you if I find that farm hand. - No, not gonna be good for him. Okay, well, do you guys wanna go to the attic while we have a little movie night? - Yes. - Yeah. - Yes, well, let's just have a little listen and the door, first of all. - You, at the hatch? - Is it hatched like in the middle of the room? - It's in the middle of the ceiling. Like it will be hard work for you to reach. - I've got a ladder. - But with a ladder, you can just then carry it. - You can use super duper can get up there. See how you bring out the ladder? - Major, I'm not too good at heights. So if you climb it, I'll put my feet at the bottom and hold it for you so you can get up there, safely you won't fall off or anything. It'll be fine. - Yeah, your pile's combined. - We have such a scary outchicks. - Just fine. (laughing) - You know, with my hand and style, I fight. - Sure. - I thought it would be a hold now. - Sure. - Yeah. - Sure. - Yeah. - It's going fine. - Okay. Yeah, you set up this ladder, works super duper well. You climb up because it must be sort of eight, nine, 10 feet above you. - Okay. - And probably not that high. Maybe like eight feet above. And yeah, this hatch, like this heavy kind of like old hatch. You can sort of like poke up and poke your head through and it is even darker in here than downstairs where at least downstairs you had the sort of the open doors to give some illumination. It is almost entirely pitch black. And. - It's darker there. - What do you see? Major, I did very dark, very dark. We need that lantern actually. - Also lantern up. - Also lanterns, saying it's dark. Actually, past the lantern up. - Sure thing, you can have mine, my daughter, you go. Pass it up, pass it up, Mr. McGins. - Yep, hold it up for you. - Okay, you slowly, slowly swing, swing this around. And there is like kind of just broken junk up here until you kind of like catch, like catch a glimpse of something. You can't quite tell what it is. It looks like some dirt or something, some dust is falling down from the ceiling. Just like these little dust moats. And then you just hear like a, (imitates gunfire) as this noise just gets closer and closer and this thing charges, I want you dodge all that. - Oh shit! (laughing) - 22. - Oh, it's so nimble. - Is that a dodge? - That's a half dodge, man. - Cool. I'm still going to have you take one point of damage as you basically drop yourself off of this ladder. Landing kind of like awkwardly. - I'd try to catch you a little bit. - No, it's not. There's something up there. - And yeah, the door's smashed up. And. - Whoa, I wasn't expecting that. I'm kind of cracking it before I get rid of my life. - What did you see? Was it like a rock, like, rabbit animal? - I can get a shot. It's just that I heard it coming and it just got out of there. - It's not a vague winter of table, like. Good at me. - I will happily take a sanity role in that though. If you want to do one of those. - Is anyone up there? - Hello, in 43, I'm fine. - 4-3. - You can still take one point of sanity loss because you-- - Oh, that was shit. I saw something. I got a glimpse of something. - It was something that came at you, but you were shining the light right on it. - Good, it's me. - Did we all hear the bang bang bang bang bang? - Yeah, you all heard a, you know, like someone running on thin floorboards, like directly above your heads, just, (imitates gunfire) - So I think I got my gun out at that point and like, just ready and-- - Who's up there? - There's no, there's no problem. - Nothing. - No, um-- - Is the hatch now close? - Yeah, yeah, the hatch, like, yeah, you're gonna have to get up in there. And it is thunked back down. - Okay, now, all you used to do back in the-- - Back in the-- - Is it gonna a young boy? We stand there in first. (laughing) - In the office, we stand behind and say, "Go, go, go." - Well, this was back in the South African, back in the poor war, when some tribal types hold up in a hut, we'd smash the window and we'd, you know, smoke 'em out. - Okay. So maybe we can get the ladder, we can go outside, we have a peek in, and I can maybe get the old, the boomstick, you know, and give 'em a shoe amount of it. - Okay, I mean, I can hold the ladder for you again, that side. - But I mean, I'm just proposing, in the opposite-- - Oh, no. - We don't know what's up there, but I'm just right, fresh. (laughing) - I'm pretty sold, honestly, Major, on this demony thing being up there. I don't know, smoke's gonna do much for that. - I mean, really, what I wanna do is go through this footage with you. - We need to watch this film and try and figure out what's going on. - Yes, I agree. - Major, you can carry on do whatever you like, but I want to go through it with Mrs. Miggins and her laughing skills. - Okay, well, let's do your thing then. We tried my thing. (laughing) And maybe we could ever go with your thing. - We can kind of split the party a little bit here, where Mrs. Miggins and Archie, I think it will take you, maybe like an hour to go through and glean all of this info. And, um, where is Willie and the Major. You can be doing something else during this process, but it's just gonna take you a bit of time to flick through until you find the right symbol, and then it'll be a process of just like, reading the information around it. - But we're gonna through the frame by frame. - Yeah. - And the old frame is like a jump scare. (laughing) - Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - It's a nightmare. - You know, Major, maybe we should follow those money footprints that the person who ran off with the beans, you know, maybe the summer mud that there's the creature in the woods or something could be, could be righted. - Oh, oh, also add, when you unpacked the chest downstairs, you found the robes, you found the chiefs of paper, you also found the cigar box that, - Oh yeah. - I don't think you've guys have gone through yet. - Let's open that as a group first then. - So in this cigar box is a metal like tin, containing some kind of like brown powder. And there's also this kind of like silver box, containing this kind of like, what almost looks like graphite or something, this like really silvery, like almost like talcum powder consistency. But if you touch it, it really, it's really, like it really covers your skin. It's really like always just like, oily feeling but it is like touching a piece of coal like it just gets in there. Yeah. Maybe this is like one of those spell reagents or something for the ritual. I don't know what I do with this stuff. Do you? Don't look at me. Yes, I believe actually looking back on the diary from Rupert. He did say it spoke then Alan cast the dam powder, the gin, the dust of Ivan Guazzi he called it and that's when we could see it too clearly. So maybe it's something to do with making the operation visible. Yeah, yeah. Like invisible man, the movie. Yes, oh my famous book. I had one as well. I think yeah, I think that is a yeah, a solid thing. You just looking at how this works like you maybe have used a plot line like this in my book. Yeah, just like in my famous book the invisible invasion of imaginary friends. They use the similar, they use chalk but you know, maybe this dust of in Guazzi is also similar. But yeah, seeing how this like reacts to someone and you do not recognize this substance at all. But yes, that link you 100% put together. That feels like, oh, they're referring to a powder they put on this thing and they could see it. And they've left it in the box like, yes, you 100% have idea about that. I think you can keep hold of that. If this creature comes up again, you need to cover that thing and it does you can chant and you can roll the camera and you have the boom stick so I can throw this dust on the creature if we think we know where it is. Yeah, it sounds wonderful. Okay, very good. Okay. I mean, it does then I go on to say just to remind you words cannot describe the faceless thing with the thousand what it doesn't sound like it's going to be fun when we do throw dust. Just to remind everybody it's not going to be good. So maybe I should throw it away. Yeah, like throw it and look away. Then we're going to have to look as no, you should look at that. That's right. Literally, I saw this quote the other day. There's like a great line in the call of Kathulu rule book, which just says like, looking away will not save your life. It's like, how far? That's a good line. I think it will look at you. I think Willie and Major, you've got like an hour to kill while these guys are going through the camera footage. Is there anything that you particularly want to do in this time? You said there's a different set of footprints that went out of back door. You have outside of the building itself. It's in like a fair bit of a clearing. The trees aren't growing, but there's a few like bushes and it's all heavily overgrown. Beyond that is like woodland. And it just sort of heads off in that direction. If you can give me a hard tracking roll, tracking, then maybe I can give you some more information. 50. That's five, isn't it? Oh, it's a five. That's 10%. Okay. That's the same. Willie, you are following on these tracks and they kind of just just disappear at some point. You are like a bit further away from the house. You're kind of near the tree line now. And you've lost the tracks. The grass is too long like they've disappeared. As you just turn to return to the house, you know, you've been just like walking around a beautiful day, like around sort of 10, 15 minutes. There is the body of a woman on the ground in front of you. You completely missed her. She's just sort of like amongst these like big grassy outrops. But this absolutely blood-covered woman is lying there with a face of absolute terror. And she has this just hole in her chest. Oh goodness me. Is it maxed a description of give me a sanitary roll? First of all, because I don't know how familiar you are with bodies. 42. Stapos? That's a pass, yeah. I have 68 sanity. Cool. You could lose just one on sanity from that. Okay. You let out like a. Oh god. Yeah, just a. Oh, dear, oh, oh, man. Somebody major. Anyone? Like I just showed up like we got a major wound. This is a pretty major wound. Yeah, does she match the description? The priest gave me. You. yeah, she's like a Mosslender, longer hair. And you didn't describe the woman as having a hole in her chest. Of course. So maybe not identical to his description. But the fact that she holding anything like a pump for other inspection. No, no, no. Like nearby there looks like a sort of a pale that would have some kind of animal feed in it or something like that. But no, she didn't have anything particular on her. Okay, I'm gonna pack up her body and carry it back to the house. Cool. Yeah. I don't really know what to say. So will you like left 20 minutes later? He just cut turns up with a body. Oh my god, I found a poor girl. That fucking farmhand must have done this to her of something. I'm making tea in the kitchen. Yeah. Yeah. We got to tell the police when they're open on Sunday. Yeah, yeah, you have now a dead body in this room. Just like we're at the end of the say to the house. This must be Maggie McFerter, the missing girl. Yeah, I think so. She must have. Oh, goodness. Maybe you were right on the idea that she was having a fling with this farmhand fellow who's been living here. Maybe they were having a trist. And this is ready. A very farmhouse. That's such a terrible terrible thing. Do you want to say anything else from anyone else? Are we doing this or is it just in the kitchen with you? Are we like in the lounge? She's very good. I feel like if William asked me, "Oh, there's a dead body." I'd be like, "Deep in my doing the thing." I'm like, "Oh, William, don't put it down. Come on." I wouldn't turn around. I'd like, I know what the dead body's gonna look like. I was like, "Oh, deep in like, right." We're doing some pretty fucked-up shit. I probably showed the major out, I'd say. Okay, yeah, you call him out and just do's. Can you get a stand roll? Let's cover up with this tarp on it. He's your checkser. He's dead, you know. 52. I'm okay. Cool. Oh yeah, we'll get the tarp for the basement. Don't you want anyway? Yeah, you can lose one. Just very tasteful. Looks like she's dead. Yeah, these just wounds look very similar to you. I've seen a couple dead bodies. I've seen a couple alive ones. They're sort of 70 dead. Doesn't look like she has a heart. The chest ripped open or is clean. It's kind of like a punch into the chest. The wound is way too clean. Okay. Under close to inspection, she is missing her heart. It is. Okay. And this is very, very similar to the other wounds. So normally, you might not have lost your sanity seeing this, but I think just seeing a wound like this in a body is sort of messed up. I'm just going to pop back to the car and get my garden. I've got my bed. I'll be right back. Don't worry. It's a very normal reaction. Be careful because that's the direction that freaked with the tableware, Grant. Oh, don't worry about that. You know, I'm just a thumming. Oh, okay, right. I'm glad it's now loaded. Yeah, nice. So I'm going to say it is now about five o'clock and using the symbols and the translation that you have to be able to work out. Kind of roughly what you are looking at in a diverse mysteries. The ritual it takes at least an hour to perform. It has to be started at midnight. One person must always be chanting. One person draws the pentagram on the floor. One person burns the chemical mixture that resembles a brown powder. Okay. Several people should be allowed to take part as it allows individuals to interrupt their chanting without disturbing the ritual. I see, okay. If the chant is continuous, the spirit must succumb. And even the slightest disruption may result in failure and we'll have to be attempted on another midnight. Oh, fucking hell. Okay, an entirely different day. A watcher should be posted that less of the sorcerers be disturbed by new senses and distractions from a level in spirits. And it confirms that a tour ritual begun at midnight will definitely banish any unwanted spirits. Does it say anything about a moon? Because I know they did it under a new moon. Harry, you know what? What? Tonight is a new moon. Oh my god. Oh, no. That today is the day. Okay, new moon. Cool. So also because you have this, this copy of this book, it goes into more detail and that minor breaks in the chanting does not definitely end it. But each person is giving up part of their essence. to be able to perform this ritual. Okay. But the bigger a break, the more likely a chance that this whole thing can fail. But the more people that take part, the better it is. Sure. And the spirit is going to fight against this as it does not want to leave. Does it say anything about how it will fight it? No, it just says it will be fighting against you. It will be resisting. Does it mention the dust of him, Gazi? I believe it's the brown powder that it reference needs to be burned. There's one you burn. There's a brown powder that burned, but then there was the other powder rain that was like the-- That's the bluey one, though. What's making you blue? Give me a library use roll. Oh, come. I'm going to push it. I wrote an 81. That's a scary person. I'll let you push it with this watching this film. Yeah, 57. I'm 70. Cool. OK, so the dust of him, Gazi, is mentioned elsewhere in the book. And it is an ancient, alcanical mixture where it will reveal the world unseen. And do I think that that dust that we have is that? You already, from your idea that you had, you would assume that this is the dust of him, Gazi. And that, yes, it reveals things unseen. It's not even a powder. And-- Not just putting some old bit of black corn flour in there. Yeah, something. Or should we make a delicious demon cake? Just OK. It's just which is poor. We could paint on the demon. But there is a tin of other powder in that cigar case, sort of like a-- Another tin of powder, well, like-- There was a tin of brown powder. If anyone knows chemistry, you are welcome to-- Archie and he chemistry? No, no. Cool. You think this is-- Oh, god. OK, well, that's going to make-- Oh, the ritual. That's the ritual. It was fucked. It's just written in half. OK, well, that's going to make this a load more fun to you. What's that like, it's said, right now, is it getting dark? Oh, it's still lovely. Lovely summer's day. Sun doesn't sat until maybe like 8 p.m. 9 p.m. Something like that. OK. But he-- You can have just my notes on what is required for the ritual. Thank you for texturing this age. He's an age down the middle. OK. So on a pure mechanical thing, I was not going to give you all of the intel at all. But I feel like you guys have absolutely solved my workout about what's going on with the ritual puzzle, because the fact that you've got a copy, the fact that you're going through this stuff-- Quite diligent. Yeah, I do want sandy rolls from the two of you again, because watching this film is really bad. For fuck's sake. I failed 67. I failed, I got 74 and I just-- Oh my god, you guys are-- Ah, one! And that. One sanity. Nice, good. Like, you guys are losing d6 sanity every time you look at this book. Although-- I don't love it. I'm going to say both of you can have-- I mean, Archie. Yes, both Mrs. Miggins and Archie. You can both add three to your Kaffulu mythos as a skill. So normally, that is a skill-- it is a skill that you can never normally put points into. It is something that you get by being exposed to mythos reading tomes. Generally, you are losing sanity. The higher Kaffulu mythos is generally really bad. It gives you intel. Well, but it's hard. It's hard to actually see the thing that you're looking at is worse, because you're going to go more insane. Yeah, you lose a lot of brain. The sun's going to go down in like an hour. You've got a good four or five hours before midnight. And so you can 100% strategize amongst yourselves on what you want to do. OK, gang. We're on the edge of darkness now. Nice! Nice! Nice! He did it. He wins! He wins, everybody. Yeah! Oh, I won't get full that game. You piece of shit. Wow. Congratulations. I've been waiting for that all day. You've probably been so quiet in this whole game. Just like, it's a doctor's time. It's all he's written down. He's just written it down. All of your notes. So I thought I could have said them. No, that's so good. Congratulations. There you go. One experience point. Yeah! Well, how do you think we should like handle this? Like, you know, you should do the Channing, I think, honey. Well, I don't, I'm in no state to try and stop whatever this demon is. I really need to just be focusing on probably doing the Channing. Are you OK, Miss Miggins? Do you need me? I'm going a little bit fucking insane. Do it to take you to a hospital. We have banged your head very badly. No, I think I'll be OK, but I don't think I can take much more of a scrape. Well, mate, you've got those firearms, right? You can be the watcher. You can help defend us. Yes, well, that seems like a job perfectly suited to me. Yeah. I want to say a few of us should be chanting just so that we can take a break. Everybody can watch the Channing. I mean, I will absolutely say that. But I will not stop chanting no matter what. You'll get jangles. I will keep janging as well, you know, but, you know, I might have to read the passage a couple of times, but I can get it in my head. And what are the other things we have to do? So many of us need to obviously draw the pentagram. I'll take that, sure. Nice, we grew very good. And one person needs to burn the chemical mixture that reserves the brown powder. So we need to also prepare ourselves a little fire and maybe the fireplace in the living room. I can't be the power of the man. We've never really got the dust of him, gas or whatever. Yeah, okay. You know, we got the, the Bernie powder. We got the Bernie powder and the Seymour powder. Yeah. Do we have to perform the ritual in the attic? So I think we can perform it, boy. If it doesn't really say. So I think we could have performed it back home. Is it so long? Maybe so long as it's a mouse. I think we just, I think we're okay to do it in the living room. Okay. And we probably, you should probably be watching the fucking attic hatch. I think that thing's going to come right through, right? And come and try and stop us. But I think we don't find to do it here. I don't see why we need to go to the attic. Is there any benefit playing the film of the book on loop in the background for some reason? Oh, I don't know if that would be very good. I mean, having the page over might be good if I need to check a note during it or something. Right. So maybe just get it ready on that bit. Sure. So we should flick it on if we need it. Do you think there's any chance the priest might want to join us for this ritual? I think don't think we left him on great terms. No, no. We've got a couple hours. I reckon he's just like lying in bed sweating. Yeah. No, I think maybe, I mean, do we want to, I'm major, it's not really my wheelhouse, but instead of any traps or something, to try and protect us. I mean, I'm also worried about this blasted guy with a table leg coming back more than the demon. Very good point. I'll set up some basic childhood road. I should be able to juggle spike traps and all that sort of thing. I could rig up some basic alarm. And for us, it hasn't had letters in case someone was to come to the front door. I can't believe it. I love that. It's really Vietnam this bitch. It hasn't happened yet, but you know, it's something to that type. There was a bucket out by the body of that poor woman that we give, you know, for a great new. Oh, he's like, so I'm one of your films. It was a boy. He got left alone in the house. Yeah. He's a parent's brother. Yeah. Lonely home. You know, you had a big, big bucket on a string. Yes. And his life's things on the door knob, by the way. Exactly. You've got a good memory. There's a super catcher who's tiny hands are very blonde hair in an orange face. Yes, I remember him as well. And you've got that rope as well at the shop. So if I go and grab the bucket and we get the rope, then we can create a sort of trap system for this guy. I think I can make something up in time. Meanwhile, it could be paired your time to polish the old elephant gun. You know, load that thing, point it up at the foot, tap at the hatch. I'm telling you for this. And then I'll get the elephant. [laughter] Ah, okay. Well, this is all sounding absolutely fantastic. So in the kitchen area is where this big stone fireplace is. There's probably more floor space in here. I'm just taking bits of chairs and just throwing them in. It's not like a big job, but I'll just start putting bits in that we need for a fire. So there's a ton of planks of wood down in the basement as well. Oh, I'm very happy. Like all of that stuff is very usable. There was some out in the barn, but is rotted. A little bit more rotten. We bought logs from the shop. So you did actually buy logs, so yeah, you bring firewood with you. Oh, actually, do you want to put the scoffers down and work? So I think it's going to go into the soft golf course. Well, I really don't have the emblem. We don't have the amber do we? Well, I think that's going to reaffirm. I had my viewfinder in there. I wonder if it kept through inside my viewfinder. I probably would not use that in before. One of them was like in the amber and then like when we do the ritual, it goes back in. It goes back in. Maybe that's what I think that's what maybe the brown powder is. It's going to reaffirm it. I don't know, but it might be useful. We don't want to have it in the car when we time comes. I put this scoffer scanner so I draw the Instagram. I think you draw it while we're doing it right. I'm running out. I think how it works. All right. For my understanding. Yeah. So some time is passing. You guys have you've cleared out this room. You've gone retrieve this bucket. You've brought in a bunch of other supplies and stuff into the building and major your selling traps. I love this because when you're like, "Oh, I really want to take jungle survival skills." It's like, "How are you going to come up with a game?" It's so specific. And now I'm like, "Oh, okay." We were doing the character. She just looked at me. I was like, "Well, I've been hiding it." I love it. I'm 100% yeah. Give me a little description of what you do. What's being rigged up? Yeah, like what you're doing. You've got a couple of hours. So what we've got is we've got a giant log. What a silly log. - I'm going in broke. (laughing) - Is that the leg front door? - Just a big leg. - There's the woods at the back. - Yeah, we can grab the log from the woods. - Now what I've got is-- - I've got 50 foot of rope by the way. - Oh, why I've got this? There's a little, when you step on the door mat. - Okay, I've rigged it. So you step on the door mat, the front door, and the rope will close around your ankles and joint you up into the-- - Oh, okay. - Why do I say that classic? - Yeah, I love that. - And then the back door is, it's again a door mat related. (laughing) - Because I'm famously in the jungle, all traps are deployed under door mats. (laughing) - It's kind of like a leafy undergrowth. - Yeah, it's right there. - I like the major deploying to the jungle with 50 door mats in its back. (laughing) - The door mats are classic. - Yeah, 'cause you're gonna have dirty boots, right, and say you don't want to wipe them off and like, oh no, if it wasn't your tent, you don't want to tread all mud into your tent. - So under the door mat, the back door, I've got a little grease up with the lard from early. (laughing) - Another famous jungle trail. - So how are you under the slippy floor? - So then it's definitely, it'll slip out from under them and they'll fall over. - Okay, right. - We had hours to make the most dangerous trails in the world. - Are you crazy? - I don't know. - The loonies are just fucking perfect. - Oh, great. Can you give me a jungle? Actually, no, we'll wait for them if they are gonna get triggered. - Yeah, I can take it. - So then see how good they are. - No, that is great. So time is passing. You're getting all this stuff set up, basically fairly good to go. And the sun goes down. You are now past the edge of darkness. It is now darkness outside. And you hear a, like a scrabbling around upstairs in the attic. And then this like, whoosh of wind and like a high pitched squeal of scream that sounds like it has thrown out of the attic and has gone off into the woods. You then hear someone screaming, which is very abruptly just cut off. And that concludes this episode of Mystery Quest. My God, the investigators are getting closer and closer to solving this mystery. Have you? I really hope you guys are enjoying this. If you are, please leave us a comment. Let us know what you think might be going on. And all of that kind of engagement really helps us out and makes more people be able to discover us. Until next time, everybody. Goodbye.
