The podcast episode "Tales of the Stinky Dragon" blends humor and role-playing adventure through a fictional prison escape scenario. The players, each representing a unique character, are transported to Sky Blue Falls Prison, where they are assigned to different floors with distinct cell environments and inmates. A central comedic segment asks each player to define their character as a potato dish—resulting in creative answers like baked potato, scalloped potato, and French fries. The narrative then shifts into a detailed, collaborative escape plan involving stealth, deception, and teamwork. Players use their unique abilities—such as a "superpower" to rob and a spider-silk stocking for climbing—to navigate the prison. A key moment occurs when Duck Fog, a prisoner with a "junk" superpower, escapes, causing emotional tension and prompting the group to act. The escape strategy involves coordinated movement between floors using a gang plank, with each player contributing to the plan. The episode highlights creative problem-solving, interpersonal dynamics, and the blend of humor and danger that defines the show’s tone. It concludes with the group committed to breaking out together, emphasizing unity and resilience in the face of adversity.

Be team battled amidst a bowlwork of blindness, invested the border guards, but now are being ball and chained by the warden. Dry yourself a drip and let's dive into the stink drama. Hello everyone, welcome to Tales of the Stinky Dragon. You're a Dungeon Master Gustavus Rollum and our four players with an arrow. Thanks. Sure you don't mean. Sorry, I didn't have a joke there. Are you sure you don't mean anything else? Take two. All right, here we go. Leave six seconds. I'm fine. No, I don't, and I ran out of pride. I think at around like age of 33, and so I'm good now. I don't really have anything to prove anymore. Ten years ago, you ran out of pride. I'm in my 40s. I'm just fine with whatever you want to think I'm an idiot. I am. So go for it. A lovable idiot at least. Yeah, sometimes. All right, well, all of my lovable idiots roll a D20, and I'm going to ask you the question here, which is all of you, by the way, you're all lovable idiots. Is it too late to change our company to that name? Lovable idiots. Tales from the lovable idiots. This week's arrow question is if your character was a potato dish, what potato dish would they be and why? And that was submitted by Abbe Gizzle and Gabe Horacek. I rolled a 19. 19. Roll off. Chris, you got to just make it. You got to make it so difficult. Didn't you all have a roll off last week and the week before? Six. Five. All right. Seven. Troy Ackman. Come on, Gus. You can do it. Come on. Say it. Eight. There we go. Why, you're going to have. You got to do it for the audience. Chris Barbara Blaine, John. I'm from Texas. How cool it would have been if you were like, all right, eight. Cool. Moving on. I know what it is. I've watched my share of America's team. Here, let me do one for the kids. Six, seven. Stop. Marion Webster's word of the year. Thank you, Barbara. All right. Chris, you look pained. I just don't understand what you all are referencing. Don't worry about it. That's okay. You're a lot to be old. Yeah. It's all right, old man. Me and Blaine are the babies of the group. Yeah. Drink your prune juice. You old fart. Yeah. Chris, you're leaving yourself. Hi, I'm Chris Stammar. I played Gunther, the male croak folk fighter. And if I was a potato, here's what I would do. There's a special dish where you sit out a potato in front of a hot stone. And then you cook it itself. And then what you do is you take some juice. As you take some fly juice. And then you squish it inside. And it becomes like a squishy. You mean you think inside? And that's what I would be. So is that what a baked potato? A stone-cooked fly juice potato. Yes, it is teased. So it's a Zelda. Get it on the menu, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah, it's what you put in the Zelda pot. And then it comes out as just mush. Monster gut. Now it windies. This combo don't work. Link is delicious. Maybe the Gunther. It's an acquired taste. You have not tasted it. Yeah, maybe you can make it for us sometime, Gunther. Maybe not. Thanks, Gunther, for that disgusting sounding. I mean, for that delicious sounding dish. Barbara, you're up. Hello, everyone. I'm Barbara Dunkelman. And I play Doug Boone, the Artificer Bug Bear. And Doug thought long and hard about this one. So Doug would be a baked potato, because Doug is all about efficiency. This way you're using the entirety of the potato. You could even eat the skin, which is actually quite healthy if you didn't know that. But also, you know, a little bit of joke thrown in there. You know, you could butter Doug up. Like, you want a baked potato. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Also, sometimes Doug could be a little cheesy. Also, sour cream is also tasty sometimes, so. And those are just some of my bacon bits. All these puns, but not one for sour cream. You don't want for every ingredient. Just like sour cream. But yeah, this is a baked potato. Delicious. No fly juice, though. Sorry, Gunther. To what? To what? To what? To what? So I know if you ever get if you haven't had it, the baked potato rooties is amazing. Oh, my God. Yes. Such a good deal. Please, Rudy Sponsors. Who's up next? I believe we got a Troikman over there. Hey, it's me, Blaine Gibson, aka Troikman. I actually, I don't know if I want to tether my name to Troikman's name. No, no, it's too late. You, uh, you're Troikman. He had a car dealership. It's just his aspirations. Dallas Cowboys quarterback from the mid late 90s. Yeah. Anyways, you who it's me, Tov Mill or Thomotech barbarian. I said, Oh, I didn't even need to do that anymore. But I still got the old brain. Thomotor and as far as Taters, I would be a scalloped potato. Because think about it, you know, scallops are in the sea, you know, very very aquatic, you know, and then all my jokes are all so cheesy. But I didn't get that joke in before dogs. So it's not as funny this time. I told you, that was a great joke. Thank you is original, same mind. Also side note, my girlfriend, Kristen makes the best scall potatoes. I think Chris and Barbara have tried them. Oh, yes. Very good. I refuse delicious. Oh, man, they're so good. Kristen also is just good at making anything. Uh, she made focaccia bread that we've been. Is that fuck? No, not focaccia. Yeah, focaccia. Yeah, it makes, it's really good. Yes, so good. It's just a weird sounding bread. Anyway, sorry. She also made a sour dough, which was also delicious. Yeah, yeah. We're just eating all her bread. I'm just hungry. Mm, bread. I like a good scalloped potato. All right. Good, uh, good. I like the, the Italian to the sea there. It's pretty good. Nice to hold. All right. And last but definitely not least, we got Nadi. Hello, everybody. I'm John Rice here and I play Nadi Wonder, who's a Drow Warlock track green mother. And I'm calling it now. This is going to be a weird episode. The vibes are, they're not off. They're not bad. They're just weird today. Mm-hmm. They're silly two feet. Strap in folks. You never know what's going to happen when the lovely idiots get in front of the microphones. As Nadi Wonder, if I were to pick which potatoes are, in my opinion, the perfect food, there's almost no wrong way to fix a potato. Although Gunther might have tried to get to that point. But if I had, if I was a potato dish, which we all know, I'm already a dish, right? Oh. Yes, for you. That's Barbara. That was Barbara. That was not expecting that sound, but I love it. I thought it was Doug. That was super weird to me. I think it started Doug and then it went to Barb, I think. It's because I had just a genuine reaction, but my voice was still ready to do that. So she had a shifted gears a little bit about vocal gears. If I was a potato dish, I would be French fries, because they're just so versatile. And they go with almost anything. And almost everybody lacks them. They're so easy to make. You just kind of cut up potatoes and then fry them. You know, and you can do them all kinds of ways. They're just, they're useful. They're versatile. They're yummy. They're just a good, good old, you know, standard. French. I'm not French, although I do lack the French. Yeah, but honestly, any potato dish, any potato, they're just perfect. That's right. Mm-hmm, pretries are good. Two things. I was convinced that he was going to say potato salad, but two. Oh, that's a good one. Show me potato salad. Yeah, but let me ask you Gustavo. Let me ask you, do you like fancy potato salad or just like plain potato salad? Do you like a bunch of stuff in your potato salad? Or you just want it like just plain? I wish I liked potato salad. Oh, I would try to repeat. I just cannot bring myself to enjoy it. I've tried it over and over my entire life and I feel like I'm missing something. You are. But French fries are interesting, because I feel like you kind of touched on this. They run the gamut, right? Like you can get French fries as fast food.
You can also get French fries at like a high-end steakhouse. It's like a side for your steak. It's like this French fry can chameleon itself into like a whole array of different cuisines. Crinkle cut, shoestreams, guinea wedge, like curly fries are good. Curly. Honestly, I feel like a lot of potatoes are actually all fries, but they just have different names. Oh, wow. Deep. Deeper. You know, like at what point is that, because there's so many ways to make fries and still call them fries, but that you could just be like, yeah, this is like home fries. What is that? Those are just potatoes. Oh, like a little broken up potatoes for breakfast. Yeah. How are those fries? Yeah, I'm a potato. It was just a raw fry. Yeah. We think I don't want, I have a lot of thoughts about fries, and I'm going to just get into it here. You should have those thoughts. And we can have extensive conversation about potatoes on second-win our show for our patrons. Oh, don't tempt me. Also really quick, if you were heading southbound on camera road in Austin, you'd say it's on November 4th with a stinky dragon sweater. I was the one that screamed stinky dragon at you. It was me. He was cyborg. This comes out. This is what it been months ago. I know, but they look very, I knew they heard me. I'm very loud. They looked concerned, but I don't know if they knew it was me, but anyways, I just had to shut that out. Thanks for wearing our sweater out in the wilds. Chat out. And if you want to be like them, you can go to store.stinkydragonpod.com. You want to make me a perception check. OK. Something's happening. Size. 14. 24. 13. Doug, as you're, you know, thinking this over and trying to figure out your move, you hear the sound of footsteps running. And you look up to see Bosco making a dash for the crank. Oh. Oh. And he begins very quickly finishing extending the plank and it drops down to the prison. Daddy shoots him. There you go. Yeah. Make your attack roll. Thanks for doing that for us. Now you don't have to do it. That's a 19 plus whatever her modifier is. That is. So go ahead and roll your damage. Yeah. Three plus four plus four plus three. So 14. 14. That's good. Yeah. The force of the blast hits Bosco in the back and he loses his footing and falls over the edge of the tower into the icy depth below. But he leans over the edge and tries to shoot him again before he gets in the water. With a loud slam, the gang plank finishes extending and it slams down onto the roof of the prison across the lake. And you see a horde of armor plated guards and a woman abored the plank and quickly run across and a cost you all. Daddy starts pulling the crank up so that while they're crossing it. Yeah. Retracts. But he accostes. Yeah, the woman commands the guards, arrest and incarcerate these invaders. We'll deal with them in the prison. The sky is filled with stars as night is set and there's rays of the low sitting sun. Pale continuously falls onto the top of the prison tower in the distance from which bladed guards and the warden have run to a cost you all. The guards very deftly seemingly with a lot of practice disarm you all and begin stowing your weapons as the warden piers at all of you over her horn-rimmed glasses. I am the warden. You are military deserters. Anyone who says otherwise is lying and that is something I will not tolerate. I believe in two things, discipline and law if you don't believe in one, you'll receive the other. Before I said I was a military appetizer, give me back your inspiration, I give over. I don't have one. Does that mean I get one? Native. Two negatives makes a bother. Yeah, the warden eyes you've gone through and she points at her pin on her lapel. See this, Gunther? This means, unlike you, I believe in a higher power, the final word, perhaps they can help you, like they helped me. If she clasps her hands together, interlacing her fingers as if praying. I think you need to pray more, put your hands together in prayer, don't stop until I say otherwise. Her glass is glass with a dark light. Gunther, make me a wisdom saving throw. Okay. What is she pointing to exactly? A lapel? Yeah, lapel pin. A pin. She's got a pin. And what can I actually see what it is? Yeah. It's a pin on her lapel that shows balancing scales weighed down by serpent scales. Six. I feel like we've seen that image somewhere before. Yeah, a scale weighed down by scales. Look at my notes. Your hands seem to act with the mind of their own as if you can't control them and your hands clasped together as if you're in prayer and your fingers interlace. Welcome to Sky Blue Falls Prison. Gods, put them in separate cells. These inmates are to be considered dangerous. I did look through my notes and I found something that we found chests in the armory and one was the scale of scales. It was the name. It was the relic. Yes. Yeah. Now, I just want to question, does Nadi was in the visage of one of the guards. So is Nadi, do they recognize Nadi or is Nadi like swept in as a guard? They saw through the roof and were quickly able to disarm everyone. Shucks. You are put into manacles, your weapons loaded into crates seemingly stowed and the warden exits to the left below. You all are guided across the gang plank into the prison tower and led to your individual cells. I need to roll to see where your cells are, so give me just a moment. Paul is going to look for the nearest prisoner that he's going to make a fool out of with like a lunch plate or a lunch tray, you know, you got to beat someone first day in prison, right? That's the rule. I see you've seen prison movies before. I might have to be gummed there actually. I don't know. I don't know if I could do this, but as we're being like walked through, could Doug make note of like how the doors open and close and like the latches and how like all the mechanics work for these cells? Sure. Give me just a moment to get these rolls and we can deal with that. Am I still praying? Yeah, your hands are stuck together. I don't even need handcuffs. It's you. Don't tell the wilderness flower about this or anything of it. It's going to be so mad. I'm going to stop a picture of you. No, don't leave don't tell her. Paul blinks with his, with his ocular things just, no, please don't. Oh, you can just wait. She's going to get so mad. I was thinking of you the whole time. Oh my God. Well, maybe you're praying to the world of flower. Yes. It and nothing. Okay. Doug, you wanted to pay attention to the workings of the prison. So you all get closer and you remember I had previously described this as like a spire that was sticking out of the lake. There was no land around it. It's just presumably a column that is the prison itself that's 30 stories tall. You are led onto the roof and then led down into various levels where your cells are. Each floor is its own cell and you are led down into each of the different levels. Toll, you are placed onto the 11th floor. 11th floor gang, whoa, whoa, let's go guys. It's me your newest member, Toll. And the door to the 11th floor faces in the North direction. Gunther, you are placed down on the 7th floor and the door for the 7th floor also faces into the North direction. Natty, you're placed on the 22nd floor. Ooh, you got a high rise. And the door to your cell faces in the eastern direction. And Doug, last but not least, you are placed on the 6th floor and your door faces in the southernly direction. Okay. Are there anybody else in these cells with us? Yes. There is. Let me deal with Doug wanting to pay attention to the doors and all of that. Yes. And then I can get to you and the people who were asking. We've gone to prison every single campaign. Yeah. We have. It's our lot in life. Yeah. We started campaign, too, as in a prison. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Guys, now we got to do it. IRL. Let's do tax fraud. Huh? Come on. Let's go see dragon. We can go way bigger than tax fraud. Come on. Think big way. Guys, I can't. I'm Canadian. I can't. Santa for a patron. It bail us out. Okay. Just to give a little more flavor text, each of these cells is a hexagonal cell that appears to be made of some kind of stone, probably granite. And there is a, I had mentioned this before, an episode or two ago, but there's like a storm over the center of the lake over this spire that causes like a hailstorm to form that pelt the tower seemingly relentlessly. Doug, why don't you make me an investigation check to see how much you glean from these cells and the way that all works. 17. See, Doug's the guy you're going to go to in prison because he's going to make the ships, all right? He's the crafter. At least you say I don't already have a couple packed away just in case. Where are you hiding them? I saw this prison. I already started whittling mountain, you know, in the forest there. Contra man. Oh, I wonder how you got that in. You see that it seems like the guards use a dual key system to lock the doors where there's two keys that are used to activate two separate locks on the doors. And it locks with a very solid metallic sound. Like they have to be turned at the same time like like like severance. Not at the same time. Yeah, yeah, it's not they're not nuclear launch codes, but yeah, it is it is more secure than one.
two different people who have two different keys or one person with two keys. - Two people with two keys. - Go right. - And these cells themselves, like I said, have a hexagonal layout. And there's a, you assume would be like a load bearing column in the center that's structural and holds the floors apart. And each of the cells is a cot and a bucket. And there's a prisoner already in each of the cells when you are put into them. So that kind of answers your question, but we'll dig into it a little more here in the second plane. - Cool. Actually, since you asked that, Blaine, what else do you think would be in this, or what else do you just told C in this cell? Is there like a piece of furniture or decor or something in here? - Oh, there's a lot of writing on the wall. Those tick marks where it's like dash dash dash slash, you know, it's like a five. So that's just covering the wall. Some sort of like brown paint on smeared across the walls. I don't know if they got the good like painting team in here, but it seems like they did a messy job. - Nice poop. - Oh, some pin-ups, some orcs, and Elvin women. - Wow, there's a lot to bring pictures in here. That's nice. - Yeah, poorly drawn. - Any fuzzy britches? - What else would there be? I don't know. - Do you like a bed or a toilet or anything? - Yeah, he's a cot. - A bucket. - Yeah, there is a cot and a bucket. - Yeah, well, they have, like, that's a-- - That's a wipe. - They have a hot, some sort of armor, like a hat, that metal bucket might serve as a good helmet. - Mm, mm, I like it. - Yeah, as you are shoved into your cell told, there is a male elf standing there, looking a little sad and forlorn, who lifts his head, looks at you, and then just looks back down at his feet. - You who? It's me told. Hello, hello, fellow prison cellmate. How are you today? - Just sad. - Yo, yeah, what's got you down? - Well, I'm in prison. I'm duck fog. - Duck fog, that's a cool name. - Yeah, you who it's me told. Well, good news, duck fog, because we're breaking out today. You wanna come with? - Yeah, how are you breaking out? What are you in for? - I'm for breaking in. I don't know, it's kind of convoluted. It's kind of backwards. But, you know, so, but I'm with my crew. We're all kind of separated. By the way, duck fog, do you know why we have different floors? Like, why they put us in different floors? The different floors mean different things. It's just for security purposes. They built the cell vertically instead of horizontally to save space, I guess. - So, it's not like a power rating. So, say I was like on the 22nd floor, I'm not twice as strong as someone on like the 11th floor, right? - You know, I don't know. I've never met anyone from 22. - Yeah, probably not the case, but, you know, I just care, it's just asking for no reason. (laughing) - Oh, yeah, do we know what floor each other are on? - I'll say that you got dropped off in descending order. - So, everyone knows that Natties on 22, Gunther and Doug know that 12's on 11, Doug knows that Gunther's on 7, but no one knows Doug is on 6, that's how you do it. - Oh, just Doug's secret. - Yeah, I guess Gunther would know that Doug is below 7 somewhere, but that's it. - That makes sense. - All right, if there's anything else you want to say, we do otherwise I want to cut to someone else and have their interaction told. - I'll want to communicate with the rest of the team, but I want to make sure that they settle in first. - Okay, we can circle back on that. We'll do Gunther next, I'm going, I just realized, instead of going down the list of the tower, I'm going by your old initiative from combat. So, don't read too much into the order I'm doing this. I'm just reusing the list of names I already have here. - Right, most powerful for Scott. - Gunther, you're shoved into floor 7, which also faces to the north. And when you're there, you see an orc who is scowling at you as you can shove in. - Just stay out of my way, little one. You can have that corner over there, and you points at the bucket. - The bucket, all right, I guess I get the bucket. What's yours is your name? - Big one, why so? - Oh, why so short with your words? - Nah, there's no point in getting to know you. You just can end up at the bottom of the lake sooner or later. - Is that what happened to your last roommate? - So, having some most people around here, actually. Not just my roommates, how long have you been here? - Oh, I've been here a long time. A week. - A week? (laughing) - I have been here a long time too, but I've now come back again. - Oh, you were in before. - He seems to like soften a bit. - How'd you get help? - That depends. Do you want to get out again? - Well, it would be a first time for me, but yes. - Oh, yes, I would. (laughing) - Do you wanna get out of stand? - Do I, okay, I have a question. Obviously, I know how I got out, but how did I get out, Gus? - Do you wanna make it up? - Okay. - If you want, I can make it up, but, I mean, it's an opportunity for you to make it up. You also don't have to tell him. - Okay, yeah. I won't tell him because I don't know what it is yet. - Okay. I would tell you, but first, tell me everything you know about the routine of the guards. Well, they don't really seem to have a set routine, you see. They never come alone. It's always in groups. And whenever they were around, they put any prisoner into lockdown immediately. And for food, do they ever let out for recess? - Recess? (laughing) - Oh, that's a good one. - No, no, no, no, but I'll let you in a little secret, though. - Yes. - Sometimes, they don't lock all the cells. - What? - We can get out and move between cells and communicate with each other that way. - Why do they do that? Why do they not lock all these cells? - They know escape impossible, but apparently not if you left. - Apparently not, yes. - Gunther wants to look at his bucket. Take stock of the room and see if there's any, you know. - Yeah, you look in the bucket and it's filled with some rather foul smelling liquids that you'd rather not investigate further. Tell me, what else do you see in the room, Gunther? Like, do you use this as an item of furniture or a decoration? - Yeah, yeah, okay, so there's the cot. And then, but I think, why so has taken, there were two cots and I think he took a double bunk, like, double stacked is so that there's no set first other cot. - He's top and bottom bunk? - Yeah, like, so he has like double padding and then I think, are there windows? - There's no window. There's just that door that faces out to the northern side. - I think there's like a running path. Like where inmates have been like to stay fit, like with jog and circles. So there's like almost like, where the stone itself is like weathered down from just like, running in circles, trying to. - Like in a circle around that support column alt in the middle of the hexagon? - Yeah, I like it. - Cozy. - If there's nothing else with you, Gunther, I'm gonna move on to the next person when you can always come back. Nadi, you were the first to be dropped off. You're in cell 22 and your door faces out to the east. When you are put into your cell, Nadi, there's an inmate already in there who's exercising. But they look like you recognize this kind of creature because you saw some not that long ago. It's a dredge. - Oh. - He looks up at you as he's doing toe touches with a big smile on his face. It's just, oh, welcome friend. - Oh, hi, my name's Nadi, what's yours? - The nine stitches. - Stitches. - Besides stitches, the cot and the bucket. What else do you see in here, Nadi? - Nadi turns to her left and sees a full kitchen with a refrigerator and a stove. - Oh, wow. - Microwave and-- - Blue pet, pet house suite up here. - A espresso machine. Why are they got that in here? Yeah, and then there's a pantry that's fully stocked with like all kinds of food. - Stitches says, oh, sorry about that. I was just practicing my prestidigitation here. Let me get that to you. - Any snaps, his fingers, and it all disappears. - Oh, you have the same brown paint too. (laughing) Yeah, where there was the kitchen, and there's a full entertainment center with video games. (laughing) - There are a bunch of little makeshift like made from like the straw of the cots and like old like pieces of like food, like bone or something. There's like little dolls all over the cell that are everywhere. - Hmm, yeah, I like it. Stitches, doesn't miss a step. He's still continually working out and he asks, what are you in for? - I don't, right, fully know. I thought it was for me to be for one thing, but then we came in, the warden made up something else. And so I think we're just kind of being held here because I don't know, she's mad at us or something. - Oh, you met the warden. Oh yeah, it's a good thing you're still here. - Yeah, does she like, is she bad? - She likes to punish people, but it's to be here, then to be receiving punishment. - Oh, okay. Do you know why you're here? - Me. - Yeah. - Well, yeah, it was a misunderstanding. I thought I was here for one thing, and then I made up something entirely different. I'm innocent. - Stealing hair. - I was gonna say stealing hair, I think flashbacks. I don't care, yeah, I believe you could be innocent. It doesn't seem to be a proper due process. So what you said, you thought you were here for one thing, but then they said you're here for other. What's those two things? - I thought I was here for robbing a store, but when they got me here, they said I was an endarian spy. Can you believe that? Me, endarian. - Aren't dretches endarians? - Yeah. - Let's try that way, they assume. Okay, yeah, I mean, you know. - You believe me, right? - Sure, what's, what, you know, why not, you know, I got no reason not to believe in you, other than prejudice.
And I don't want to be that kind of person, so. Oh, you're great, Natty. I'll tell you what. I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Oh. My nickname around here is Smiley. You can call me Smiley Stitches if you want. Your real name is Stitches, but your nickname is Smiley. Yeah. It's okay. Cheryl, why not? Smiley Stitches. Right, I got that nickname in the odoring military. [laughter] Is Giggy with me? I was going to ask, is Giggy in, like, what do they call that? Like a juvenile sub? A juvenile sub? He's in the playpen that they have for people's kids. Yeah. We'll play area. Yeah, we'll say Giggy's with you. Okay. What about Captain Grumbles? Oh, that's a good question. And has Gambott made his way back? As well. From Gambott to Circles, like sad sounds, as it can't find you. That's actually a really good question. In the last episode, we said Gambott would reunite with you at the end of combat, so we'll say the way that the end of the precepts would play out, we'll say Gambott arrived as y'all were being accosted and taken. So you have Gambott back. I thought my skin would be orange in it. Wait, did they let her keep Gambott? Oh, yeah. Where does Gambott go when Gambott's not being used? That's for me and Gambott to know when no one else. [laughter] We'll say Gambott is with your equipment. Dang it. Can it be like a service animal type arrangement? You know how they let prisoners have service animals in their cells? Yeah. But Gigi is with Nadi. We'll say Captain Grumbles is in a different cell. Okay. Okay. It's the Darth Vader thing. Where's Padme? Is she saying where's Captain Grumbles? As you can see, smiley, I got myself a little demon that here, and he's been accused of a lot of stuff. So, I mean, most of it's true, but I mean, he's been accused just like you. So, how long have you been here? Oh, me. I've been here for three years. Do you have a sentence? Or is it just like they put you in here and that's that? [laughter] A sentence? You're funny, Nadi. No. They just put me in here. This place seems to be a little Lucy Goosey. Yeah. You could say that. The order does what she wants, you know? But you've got to listen to her. Don't disobey unless you want to disappear. Do you know where they disappear to when they disobey? Is there like a box? Rumor has it. There's a dungeon somewhere here that the warden takes people to when they disobey. Oh, okay. I don't know where it is. I've actually never seen it, but that's what I hear. Hey, what are all these dolls around the cell? Oh, those things. Those are my friends. Let me introduce you. Hey, this first one here. This is Griff. He's a good friend of mine. Okay. Yeah. He's orange. Not yellow. Oh. This one over here. This is Simmons. Hey, good friend. What are you going? Doug, you are led to your cell on the sixth floor of which the door faces to the south. And as you are led into it, you see that there is a grill already in it. You saw a grilps before. I don't know if you remember this. You fought some with the fake gardeners way back like many episodes ago. They were like the little, I think it was with the fake gardeners. It was right around then. It was like little fiends, like little green-skilled and devils about the size of a house cat with wings. Okay. Yeah. This grill, as you walk in, is just scratching at the wall. And that turns and looks at you over its shoulder and then just goes back to scratching the wall. What else do you see in here, Doug? I think Doug would see in addition to the bucket. I think there's also a bucket of water. Okay. And then maybe some dirt next to it. And then if he looks around, I think he would find some pieces of wood and a tiny little carver's knife. Okay. Sure. Oh, what's that in the car? Are those two keys in the corner? It is. Wow. Yeah. I think they both say master key one and master key two. They do. Wow. Okay. Perfect. And there doesn't seem to be any creatures that could do any sort of prested agitation or sort of illusions in here. Well, there's the grill. I don't know much. You haven't talked to him. So I don't know. That's crazy. It looks at you and gives a menacing smile and you see that there are no teeth in its mouth. And he goes back to stretching at the wall. Okay. Pleasure to meet you on the moon. What's your name? Benjamin. Benjamin. Benjamin. Benjamin. Benjamin. Benjamin with a K. Benjamin. Sorry. Couldn't understand you because of like a teeth. Benjamin, alright. Well, I see we're going to be friends. Yeah. How long have you been in here, Benjamin? I just got here. Oh, just got here. It's me too. What? Why are you here? Oh, I imagine probably because we were trying to break in. So they put us in here. It seems kind of, you know, we were trying to get in here and they put us in here. So maybe they should have kicked us out. That would have been the real punishment. But. Oh, well, congratulations. Well, thanks. What brought you in here? Oh, they caught me. I was an undying spy. Oh, yeah. That's, that's awkward. Yeah. But I'm glad they're walking you up. What? What? I mean, what are you doing over there scratching the walls? I'm going to dig my way out. Which wall is he scratching at, by the way? He is scratching at the northern wall. Okay. The space south. Like the opposite side from where you walked in. You, your door was to the south. So he's scratching on the northern wall. So would one assume the northern wall would like be the edge of the tower? Well, they're all edges. There's no other structures. It's just one cell stacked on top of the other. So all of the walls are exterior walls. Okay. I'm so cute. I'm so cute. Like, I feel like I could draw this place where I don't know. Yeah. Does it look like a, like a jenga tower that's all like weird, like there's like pieces jutting out, you know, from the center pole? No, it's just one hexagon stacked on top of the other. It's just a hexagonal tower. Yeah. And people can send this fan art if they want on Discord, if they're members of our Patreon. It's thinkingjaringpod.com. I would love to see people take on this because, yeah, I'm the same way where I'm like, I'm going to good picture this, but I also cannot for the life of me picture this. Okay. Well, what makes you think you could dig out of those kinsmen? Is it, uh, you're making progress there on your scratches? No. Oh. But I got time. That's true. That's a good point. I like you, Doug. You seem easy to talk to. Well, thank you. I, I brought myself a, uh, being easy to talk to you, but thanks, kinsmen. Uh, haven't happened to see any guards walk by, like pretty often. Like, how often do they come around? I'm really not too certain. I had you only got here today, actually, but. Oh, very helpful. But I have heard. Oh, what's that? I saw you looking around and maybe you're like this rumor. I heard there's a skeleton key somewhere around here that works on every door. Even secret ones. Oh. But like, I know you need two keys to open a door, so how would you do that? Well, maybe it works on both. Or maybe not. Oh, so they don't have to be inside at the same time? Yeah. Oh, that changes everything. What's the rumor on where we're hiding? I don't know. I wish I knew. Well, that's great information. Well, kinsmen, you know. I feel like we're buddies, so if you hear anything else, you just let Doug know. Okay. But I'm a little bit bored, so I'm going to get back to work. It turns around and continues scratching the wall. So I guess I'll ask the group at large, you know. I just wanted to give everyone give a moment to build their cell and kind of talk about that. What do you all want to do? What's the plan here if we can kind of figure this out? Should we roll or anything or just kind of go one by one? Yeah, why not roll, I guess. I should have bought just a D20. Just a D20. Nine. Three. Fourteen. Two. And then I'm going to be Gunther told Doug Nanny. Gunther told that's what I got. Okay, yeah. Gunther, do you have like, inklings of a plan here or thoughts? So from my mind, Gunther's previous experience, whenever guards come either up or down, the, the personers hit the ceiling or the floor as a warning. The number of taps means the number of guards. Interesting. Interesting. Yeah, but they have there kind of like a messaging, you know, system. Yeah, you just got to be sure not to get confused like when your upstairs neighbor drops a bunch of stuff on the floor. And you're like banging on the ceiling. Like, shut up. Keep it down. Fucking guards. Oh my god. Where the guards coming at 2 30 in the morning. Get real. And then, let's see, I'm with, I'm with, um. Why so? Why so, why so? All right. Does magic work here? Yes, but most things have been taken from you. So, yes, with an asterisk, if you have the ability to do it. Okay. Can I see out the, the cell? Yeah. Your door faces out to the north, so you're able to look out.
out in that direction. And you see the icy lake below you, then on the other side of the bank of the lake, it's just clear shoreline. We'd previously discussed this, but it seems like all the vegetation in Russia has been cut back a significant distance, presumably to increase the sight lines for the watchtower. - So here is my plan, Ysul. Okay, we have several, several one is when the guards, they come, right? I need you to throw the poo. You throw the poo. That would disrupt them and blind them and make them not in a good mood, right? - You got the brown walls, right? - Yes. And then here's what I will do. I will misty step through the doors and then attack to hopefully get key. And they're so covered in poo, they don't even know what to do. And then we make a break. - Do you do? - Yes. - Chris, you have a fascination with throwing the poop bucket. I just want to point that out. I feel like we've done this before. - It is a good way to use what you have. - I'm not talking to Gunther, I'm talking to Chris. (laughing) - Okay, now Ysul, you tell me what can we use as weapons or something, but do you cut in your head? - Make a persuasion check for me, Gunther. - It was only eight. - I guess he looks around and says, - Okay, maybe we can work together, little one. - He goes over to his bed to the cot and reaches around inside of it and pulls out a piece of rock, like a piece of granite that's been sharpened. - Hmm, I like it. I like it a lot, Ysul. - Where else you got? - Uh, you? - Do not hold back on me. I am not weapon other than, yes, I actually am weapon, but not like you think. - No, I can throw you. - Oh, okay. Well, see, I need, okay, you'll get me the stabby rock. - What? - No, no, no, no. - All right, then I will just miss this about and leave you. - But what do I get out of this? - You get me opening the gate when I leave. - So, what do you need me? - I don't. - Okay. - I think Ysul's not the smartest person in the world, so I think all of this talk would probably throw his brain for a loop, so he would hand over the rock kind of without thinking and just kind of like a puzzled look on his face. - Good. - Is that it for you? You want to move on to the next person? - Yeah, I guess I'll hide during the poop throwing, so I won't even know where I am. And then I'll be behind him. That's my plan. - Okay. - Who's making all the poop? - Well, Ysul's already been working hard at that. - Yeah. - He's been preparing for this plan for days. He's been training. He didn't know it though. - No, guys, he's been poo pairing. (laughing) - It's like a karate kid. Show me paint the fence. (laughing) - On poop. - All right, tol. - First and foremost, after I give my neighboring cells up and down some knocks, some greeting knocks, you know, they've been hearing knocks here and there, so I'm just knocking back. - You're returning them, yeah? - Yeah, without fully understanding what that does. I walk over to the door and I try it. - What the heck? - You give the door a shake and it is locked. - Okay. - Do I have, because they were like kind of components of psalmatex, 'cause they're like psalmatex, you know, like, pieces. Do I have my mittens of mushrooms or my stockings of spider silk? - We'll say that they took the mittens, assume, you know, 'cause they slide on. But the stockings, I believe, are described as like, they adhere really tightly, so they would probably appear to be part of your psalmatex skeleton. So I'll say the mittens are gone, but the stockings are still adhere to your legs. - They're like yoga patterns. They just skin tight. Perfect. Okay. And then duck fog, duck fog you who? - Yes. Do what do you have any, like, cool powers or anything like that? (laughing) - Are you like Superman or? - Yeah, yeah, I've got one superpower. - It's not making paint for the walls, is it? - I can rob people. - Great, okay, love that. Good skill. - So the door is jammed. Okay, duck fog, I want you to try this. I want you to go on the, you see, I am on the. - Your cell is facing to the north, yeah. - My prison is north. - Okay, so the door is on the north, yeah. - Correct. - Okay. Duck fog, I want you to go to the south end of the cell. And then if you hear a guard coming, I want you to haul her for their attention and say that I have escaped. And then while I'm saying this, told is using the spider silks, the stocking of spider silk, to walk up the wall and be on the roof. It is planted above the doorway, basically like a ready to pounce on whoever walks into the door. - Okay, okay, I dig it. Duck fog says. - Okay, okay, let me get my superpower ready. Hold on. - And he walks over to the cot and begins digging around inside the cot. - What are you doing? What's in the cot? - Oh, you'll see. - What in the cot? (laughing) - He pulls out a flask and opens it up and begins downing it. - What does that superpower do? Is that some sort of super potion? - Yeah, it makes me junk. (laughing) - Right to the point, I love it. - All right, whatever you need, you know? Do you have any other cool things in that cot? - Okay, yeah, yeah, hold on, hold on. - And he begins digging around again and pulls out another flask. - Okay. - And he begins downing that one too. - Double the power. - Good, good, well, it's show time. So don't get too, you know, it's super powered, I guess. - I'm getting into character. - You look great. - Also, I would just try to see if I could connect with any, but, dog, dog! - Doug, Mickey. - So your five floors away from me, okay. - And also facing in the opposite direction. Doug, Mickey, perception check. - Mm-hmm, 25, guys. - Oh. - You hear Toe's voice on the wind, calling out to you. - Hello? (laughing) - Do I roll a perception at super disadvantage? (laughing) - I love, you know, that's an audio podcast of who it can't see, but I love, like, how Barbara was playing it. Like, she was actually in the moment, like, looking around confused. - Toe? - Toe? - Is that you? - We'll say you're able to hear Doug because Doug was able to hear you. - Oh, okay. - It's crazy that I could hear you all the way on the 11th floor when I'm on the 6th floor. - Actually, sound off. Maddie. Gunther? I guess I would hear this. I'm right next to you. - Gunther, you would definitely hear this 'cause you're on the 7th floor. Let's say you're right by Doug. - No, it is me Gunther. - And Maddie, just make a perception check to see if you hear it. - It's a 10. - We all know sound doesn't travel up, so. - If you're screaming up to Toe, I'll say you don't hear Doug, but, you are further away. They're all, like, within five of each other. - It's okay. - You're a loving man. - Maddie's just hanging out with Smiley and singing some prison songs and just having a good all-time. - Maddie already has other voices inside her head, so, like, my add more. - What's that supposed to mean? - In a good way, you know. - What voices, but what do you mean a good way? - You know, telling you to have people meet your wife and stuff like that. - It's not a voice in my head. - You hear in the distance, you hear another voice join your communication. - Shut up. (laughing) - Gosh. (laughing) - Simmons. - So, I never got a response back from Maddie, though. - No, no Maddie, but the other three of you can hear each other. - Gaggy! Gaggy! - Make a perception check for Gaggy. - Yes, okay, it's working. 11. - Huh? - It's better. - No, still insufficient. - Captain Grumbles! - Captain Grumbles! (laughing) - Captain Grumbles! - Gaggy's like a cat or a dog, like sitting on their butt one leg in the air, like looking at their leg. (laughing) - Gosh. - He's having a bath. - Yeah. - Nothing from Captain Grumbles either? - No. - Okay, okay. - Now that I know at least where, well, I would have already known this, and I already knew that Maddie was on the 22nd floor because we were on the thing with them. And through echolocation, Tulf knows roughly where the others are. - Yeah. - Below you. (laughing) - Yeah, the others can yell at you and tell you where they are. - Okay. Oh. Where are you guys? Booter! Dog! - I'm in the prison! - Oh, God. Oh, that's great. Yes, what floor? - He's on the 7th floor. What above me? I'm on the 6th. - 6th, 6th floor, good. Okay. Great. - This sounds like a math problem. - Yes. - If Gunther is one floor above Doug, but Doug is four floors below toll. What floor is Maddie on? - And I'm with my soul! - And what was the horse's name? (laughing) - Wait, wait, the one that died Terry? - No, it was just a, it's like the horse's name is Wednesday. - Oh, okay, sorry. I don't know what my intent was with communication. I just want to see if I could establish comms. I'm sorry, Gus, get your hand out of here.
your hands. I've tried to, the party splitting is breaking my brain. Okay. You had a plan. Just do your plan. Yeah. Just do your plan. Yeah. I'm just going to follow through with it. Well, I don't want to, I can't communicate with them what the plan is because then I'm just going to be like, oh, hey, I'm going to be on the roof and I'm going to get in Bush whoever walks in. All right. So now I can kind of roughly know where everybody is. I'm going to Spider-Man. I'm going to stay there on the roof waiting for the guard to come in and for duck fog to do his part. Okay. Sounds good. Doug, do you have any ideas here? Well, what I was going to try to do is make some clay/mud out of this dirt and water and try to reach around and stick it in the keyhole to get the mold of the key and then make my own key with the conveniently placed wood pieces and whittling. I was wondering what the point of all of that was. You agree to it. We all hurt. Hey, audience, you heard them. That's true. It's there. Yeah, it's there. Sure. It's all there. Yeah, you can you can begin working on that once it's recorded. It's legally binding. There's no editing. That's right. Like, leaping exactly because I assume we don't have any of our like tools. Right. Yeah. I have my yoga pants, my magic yoga pants. Wow. But that's about it. Yeah, yeah. Lulu Lemon. Yeah, we'll say it'll take you not that long, but it's going to take you a couple of minutes to get to work on that. We'll have you make like a check for crafting or whatnot whenever we come back around. Nadi, it would be your turn, but Duckfog starts screaming. Guards. Guards. He's gone. My best friend. He left me. He begins crying. Like, it's not you don't think he's acting. Do you think that he's genuinely crying and sad? I'm all alone again. He just looks like I'm looking at him like shrugging, but he's also like beckoning more out of it. Like, yes, yes. He left me just like everyone always leaves me. I'm all alone, and he escaped and ran away, and he took my juice. Okay, I don't know what the truth is, but let's go and keep going, keep going, yes, his juice. You hear more of that greeting knocking coming on your ceiling. Two loud thumbs. Okay, I hold. And he doesn't know what that means, right? No, he has no idea what that means. It's greetings. They're saying hello. Oh, yes, stuff being friendly. And two guards show up at yourself and unlock the door and come rushing in. Okay, I don't know. I have a choice here. Two voices. Do I? Got a hack fast? I know. I'm going to stealthily drop on the one that's closest to the door while keeping my me closest. Like, I'm going to put myself between the guards and the door, and I'm going to try to grapple with the one that's that closest to the door. I got you. Yeah, yeah. So you drop down to the ground, atop the guard, and you try to grapple them. Make a strength check. Since this looks a surprise attack, you can do anything like this. You can get advantage. Okay, okay, all right, strength check. That's a, come on, go do better. And as a barbarian, if you rage, don't you get advantage on that anyway? Oh my god, you're so right. That's a great. Go ahead and click that rage. I got a 17, but I'll do it. Do I do another? Or I guess that was it, right? Yeah. Okay, so 17, 17. 17. All right. I'm going to make my roll here. Oh, I rolled a 13. Yeah, so you land atop the guard and pin him to the ground. Can I disarm and take whatever weapon he has on him? Yeah, he's got a longsword in his hand. Yeah, you're able to drop him to the ground, pin him, and pull the longsword out of his hand. Okay, and then that guy's prone, right? Is he any sort of unconscious or do I need to just finish him off here? He's prone. He's probably not unconscious. Let me make a roll just to verify that. Well, he's awake. He's conscious. You've just pinned him to the ground and disarmed him. Okay, this is what I'll do. I'll pick him up and I'll put the sword to his neck and I'm going to hold him hostage and I'm going to get the other guard's attention and say, drop your sword and give it to the elf over there, the drunken elf. Give your weapon to this drunken. Do as I say, or this guy gets it. Yeah, make a intimidation check. Okay, 14. Yeah, the other guard drops his sword to the ground and kicks it over towards duck fog. Duck fog? It's okay. I'm here. I'm back. Make your way over to the door. We're going to get out of here, okay? What's the point? Tuck fog, get it together, man, we got to get out of here. Oh, he just begins shuffling towards the door. The sword, pick up the sword. Oh, the sword. That's the one. Yeah, come on. He grabs it and he's just like dragging it like a little kid dragging like a stuffed animal. He's holding onto the hill and the blade is just scraping along the floor. This gives a little bit more enthusiasm. Okay, we need to be like, we need to be on point. All right, we're getting out of here. Okay, is he out? Yeah, he got to the door and uh, well, we're really, really high up here. Okay, we're like midway up the tower, but we got to play a ways to go. I'm going to then push the other guard that I have in my grasp and further into the cell and try to close the door and lock them in. Yeah, you shove them into the into the cell and pull it out and close the door. Do we cut away to another person? We're going to be keeping this going, what seems like you you're making progress here. Okay, duck fog. All right, super serious. Look at me in the eyes. Look at me. He's looking at you. His eyes are glassy and bloodshot. Follow my finger, duck fog. Follow my finger. He's following you finger with his eyes and you see him start to lean backwards. Okay, no, I grab duck fog and bring him in. All right, now caught your breath. It's so bad. Duck fog. We've got to break my friends out of here, okay? The more people we break out, the stronger will be. The stronger will be the better chance we have of getting everyone out of here, okay? Yeah. Great, okay. It would make sense to go further deeper. If the exit is up so that we could get Doug and Gunther and then work our way up to Nadi. Okay, so we're going to go, I'm going to go further down. Why don't, yeah, so you're going to climb down. I guess the next person down from you would be Gunther on floor seven. Ready for his, to spring his trap. That being said, it is hailing and it's kind of treacherous climbing up and down. You do have, oh, you have those stockings though. Yeah. Yeah, I guess maybe you should describe this to me. Are you thinking you would climb down or use like the gang plank because the gang plank is how the guards show up. It extends from the watch tower and then they come over and then go back. Oh, so like the gang plank also can move between floors. Got it. So there's no staircases connecting the actual places. Correct. So you either have to use a gang plank or climb the face of the tower. Well, I can't do that without losing duck fog. I don't never leave a duck fog behind so we're going to the gang plank. Okay, you can cross the gang plank over to the watch tower. I guess from where this point is you would be able to adjust what floor you go to without alerting the guards who are up at the top of the tower. I would slowly make my way down until I found Gunther. Okay. Why don't blame you tell me what floor is Gunther on? I wouldn't know. I mean, I know that he's on the seventh floor. Would you not have heard us say that? Doug said it. Yeah, Doug said it. Yeah, Doug told you what they were. Doug said it. So then I know because of the math equation. Yes. Yeah. So I'll go to the seventh floor. Seventh floor. Okay. Okay. Yeah. You you and your note taking in your brain got the best of me today, Blaine. Aha. Aha. Have at the you begin going to the seventh floor. Gunther, make a perception check. Okay. Get ready. 14. The guards are coming Gunther. Get ready. Why so we have we have but seconds. Get ready. Activate the gang plank extends and connects to the door and you hear footsteps approaching. Get ready. Who's who's heard us in this initiative? It's WISO. Yeah, the locking mechanism. You pointed this on the NPC. The locking mechanism begins opening and WISO throws the the bucket just like flat. Oh my god. Please give me a saving throw. Please let me try to. We'll see if WISO is even able to throw it correctly. First of all, if you're old in 11, he tries to toss the bucket, but the content just splatter all over the floor. Non-hitting, non-hitting toll. That's a full bucket. I'm not listening to this episode for the Foley. I'm not doing it. I'll help make the Foley if you want. Yeah, but Gunther, you see that it's actually not a guy. It's the the filth hits the floor. You realize it's not a guard, but your friend told you who it's me told Skywalker. I'm here to rescue you. Okay, so I saw a toll before I activated by plan. Yeah, yeah. You only the first part of your plan started and then now you see it's toll. Tolle Ventures. He slips around a little bit. When did you be with how this is WISO? Doc Fog, this is my friend Gunther. Communication's not as strong soon. He's very surprised to see me right now. It's a pleasure to meet you. This is WISO. We cannot leave him behind. I will not leave behind anyone this time. That's okay. We're going to go rescue Doug after this, and then we're going to make our way back up to Nadi. Doc Fog, how you feel about that sword? Do you want to give it to my friend Gunther? He's
- He's great with the sword. - Yeah, Duckfog just kind of drops the sword. - Okay, I gingerly take it and hand it to Gunter. - He just throws it off the gang plank into the water. (laughing) - Wait, do you have a weapon? Do you have a weapon? - Yeah, I have another sword. - It's a long sword, yeah. - I hand this stabby rock to Weissau. - Thanks for giving me back my stuff. - Okay, so I assume you all head back and readjust the gang plank to go to your next location? - Yes. - Why do we have to go one floor down to get dug? - I hear you guys pretty good from up here. (laughing) - Do not throw the poo, it is us coming. Whatever you do, do not throw fecal matter, okay? - I don't worry, was to not even cross my mind. - That was in front of your plan? - No. - Well, she never would have gotten out of here. (laughing) - You go one floor lower and come up to the cell that's got dug inside of it. - But the door doesn't open, it seems the lock is filled with mud. (laughing) - Oh, actual mud. - I sweat this mud, it's not poop. - What is it, what do you people in feces? - Why do you do this? - It's mud, I don't believe you. - It's mud, it's just a bunch of bramble crack, you know. - Okay, all right. - Yeah, it takes a little bit of work to clear the mud, but you're able to get it, they're not open up the door and reunite with your friend Doug. - Just in time for me to finish the key. (laughing) - Well, that's great though, because we have a backup, you know, and we can, here's the thing. We know that Natty is on the 22nd floor. We're all there when we dropped her off, okay? Do we want to continue to go floor by floor and let everybody out? Or do we just go straight to Natty? What do you guys think? - Couldn't Doug like bring him closer so that Benjamin can't hear. - Okay, yes, hello. - I don't think we should be freeing somebody's folks. (laughing) - This guy is kind of unhinged. (laughing) - He went the one he has no teeth, that's what. - He's scratching the walls. He hasn't stopped since I got here. Also, he's an undorian spy. - Can Tull of Quiley look over Doug's shoulder? What does he see? - You look over his shoulder and you see a grilp who's clawing at the walls, and then he takes a break and then opens up his mouth and begins like gumming at the walls. You see he's got no teeth. He's just like trying to dig into the walls with his gums. - I quietly put a hand down Doug and just kind of got him out and close. (laughing) - He's okay. I already put stuffing under the sheet of my bed so he thinks I'm still in here. - Okay, that's great, okay. Well, then in that case, maybe we should just go to, wait, oh, wait, what are we doing? - We need to find bun lap. - Bun lap, where could bun lap be? - We're in from memory. - Did I know what floor he was on before? - You remember bun lap being on the top of the tower, the top floor. - The top floor? - But would that hold up though, because didn't one of our guys say that they changed the towers freely, they can walk to and throw the cell blocks? - They can sometimes visit between them. - I believe he was on the top floor, we shall check. - Okay, on the gang plank, is there any sort of like documentation or anything listing off prisoners? - That's good idea. - Yeah, we'll say yes. There's a piece of parchment on the watchtower side that has all of the different floors and all of the different prisoners listed. - I don't wanna be too much of a stretch here. It's okay if it's not the case, but does it show anything about what they're in for or anything like that? - For some of them, yes, not for all of them. - Okay, how many of them are undarion? - You see on the list there's about four undarions we're currently captured. - 'Cause we could just go and release the people that aren't undarion. - Right from what we do not know why they lock people up, they are not honest. - Oh. - Who are we to be judged at jury? And not executionally, we're not killing people, but you know? - Well, like prison, like, yeah, whatever that, yeah. - Were you gonna say D? - I was gonna say D, prison. - Yeah, principle prison. - Yes. - I made sure that Hootch making with a minor in shifts. - I made inmate with honors. - Oh man. - Okay, I mean, what do you guys think? Do you think we should just, we got to find Bunlap, we got to find Natti, we got to find Captain Grumbles. - I think you should at least get Natti back in the group. - Yes. - If I were to give a suggestion and then make the decision. - Okay. - I mean, Gunter did say that last year remembered Bunlap is on the top floor. So we'll just start making our way up. Maybe take a quick little glance as we go to get Natti on the 22nd and then keep going. - As we go up, we will ask people if they should be in prison or not. - That's why take a vile. Let's get the most important people out of here. - That'll happen between those like a cut scene and then we'll be in the 22nd floor. - Yeah, yeah. Okay, so I wanna refer to the list. Is Captain Grumbles between us and Natti? - Captain Grumbles will say yes is on floor 19. - We go to 19. All right, let's go, we got to go to 19. We got to give Captain Grumbles out. He's the most important member of this team. - Oh, we, I, we leave them there, I mean. - Never leave a man behind. - Yes, true. - Well, Gunter, do you wanna save Captain Grumbles? - Yeah, I think we should save Captain Grumbles. - Okay, I think that that's the tie breaker then. Let's go to floor 19. - You go to floor 19 and as you're approaching it, you hear the sound of C-Shanties. Interspersed with bleeps as you approach. - That's our man. - Hey, Captain Grumbles. - Captain Grumbles is leading his stillmate along in a rousing C-Shantie. - I open the door. - I, that I resurrected in life, like four months ago. - Yeah. - He's become our pet, he's the heart of the team, John. We need him. - I love it. - So see, I see Captain Grumbles. Oh, come to me. - Oh, okay, watch the language, Captain Grumbles. - Who's your new friend? - Yeah, hey, you new guy, what's your deal? - It's a human, he sticks out his hand, says, "The name is Babyface Red." - Babyface Red. - You stay here, babyface. - No, no, I'm trying to get out of here. Let's go. - Babyface Red, have you seen one like me? - You. - Did you call Babyfish? - Chris is, what's it called when you get like, he's allergic to names. - Yeah. - Yes. Babyfish, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo. - Oh, yes, 34. - Perfect, babyface. - Okay, babyface. - You're cool, come on in. - Got to have five of them. - All right, yeah. I'm just part of the gang. Another military deserter like you guys. - Oh, great, yes. - Can I have more people along for this journey? - Oh yeah, do remember. - Do not judge one. - Okay, let's make our way to, we'll go to the 22nd now. We get Natty. - Okay, Natty and. - I assume also we didn't find Bunlap as we were going up, right? - No, but you don't think you would have found him by now. - Okay. - But yeah, you have not seen him so far. You go up to the 22nd floor and you see Natty and Gigi and Stitches in there. Smiley Stitches. - What are they doing? - Stitches is doing jumping jacks now. Natty, what are you doing? - We're just playing with dolls with Gigi. (laughing) - What are the dolls saying? - The doll. - Hey. - Yeah. (laughing) - You have her wonder why we're here. (laughing) - God, the prison madness is already taking place. She's too far, God. - Who would come up with such a line? - Natty, your friends or not your friends. Your travel companions are all at the door. - Hey. - They're Natty's friends. You're gonna make stuff with Matty. - Okay. - Smiley, we're saved. - Amazing. Let's get out of here. - Yeah, let's get out of here. Hey, everybody's my friends, Smiley. - Hi, Smiley. - Yeah, he's a dredge and he goes around with an outstretched hand shaking everyone's hand. - Pleasure to meet you. - You too, hope you're not an orian. - Oh, I am. - Okay, good. - Are we getting out of here? - Oh yeah. If you're not busy after this. - He puts his arm around here to hold. - Would you like, wanna hang out? - You know, for now, we're buds. Enemy of my enemy is my friend. So let's get out of here. We're looking for one more party member. - Gray. - 30th floor, 30th floor, everybody. - Is that the top? - Yeah, based off the intel we have. - Okay. - You all head to the top of the tower. It's a 30th floor and you open up the door. All you make a investigation check, okay? - 11, three. - Nat 20 for 19. - 10th. - Do you open the door and look around and find that the cell is empty. There is no prisoner inside of it. - Dang it. - Oh God. - Can I look in and look for any, I don't know, writings or signs or things I might find familiar? - Yeah, you begin searching the room. You had like a 19 on your investigation, right Gunther? - Yeah, I had a Nat 20 that became a 19. - Okay, you begin searching the room and in the cart we find something hidden in the stuffing. It's a petite frozen, manical skeleton hand. It's attached to a key. - Is it croak folk? Scalasant. - Could Doug take it and hold it up to Gunther's hand and see if it matches? - Yeah, you take a look at it and it doesn't quite seem to match. It doesn't seem like it's a croak folk hand. - Was Ben like some other species? - Mm-hmm, not his croak folk. - He wasn't a thoo.
- Uh-huh. - Didn't you guys have a manifest of who's in the prison? - Yeah, we found one on the gang plank thing. It's a bun lap on there. I check it again. - Yeah, bun lap is on there, 30. - Okay. - See like invisible frog man, Gunther. As you're looking around Gunther, you know, you rolled pretty well. You see that you're going through every corner of this room, which makes it a little longer than normal. It's a hexagon and not just a square. So there's a few extra corners to deal with. But you see that the central column in the middle of the prison cell seems to have some kind of, like it's uneven in its construction. It seems to be like there's a seam that runs along it. - Kid, we try pushing it or pulling it or seeing if that key somehow activates it. - Mickey, strength check for me, Gunther. - But another nap 20, for 19. That's 220's in a row. I did spit at my camera. - Next segment. I don't know if y'all saw that. - That's thrilled. - Well, 220's in a row is pretty good. So the dice are in your favor today. Yeah, you begin pulling it a little bit and you see that where the stone is uneven, there's like an adhesive holding it together. And as you pull at it, that begins stretching and giving and you're able to pull more and more. And you see that there's a small hidden door in the central column that was being held by this adhesive. And you've now separated it. - It's a brown adhesive. - Hmm, maybe it's just my mind. - Where does it go, the store? - You look and you see that there is indeed a hollow shaft in the center of this column that seems to run all the way up to the rooftop, which is pretty much where you're at, then all the way down to the very depths of the dungeon. And there is a pulley system inside of it. - I think bun lap A here. I think we just broke into a prison for no reason. Could Doug take the key, that's in the hand? - Yeah. - So, he escaped? I don't know. - We don't know. We don't know. - He didn't leave like any notes or anything or-- - We do not know. The only way to know would be to speak with the warden. - Yeah, I don't think that's the only option. - I don't know, that's a good idea. - I think it's fun to say things as absolutes, but it's not always true. (laughing) - Also, we're kind of, you know, they tried, they arrested us and they were technically breaking out. So I don't know if we should just go find the warden to be like, hey, what's up, put us back or whatever. - LOL, it's us. - LOL. - LOL. - W-I-D. - You guys have flaws in your prison. (laughing) - Question. - Pulley system. - We're at the top, right? - Yeah, there is a roof at the, obviously at the very top of the tower, but you are on the 30th floor, which is the top floor of the tower. And the pulley system seems to go all the way down. - Well, I feel like this might be a way out of the prison without having to go through the watch tower, which might be in our best interest. - And maybe that's how Bumlap got out of here. - That's what I'm thinking. So you think we should go down? - Do we know what Bumlap looked like or what kind of creature he was? - Yeah, he was like, gunther, but bigger and stronger. - Could Doug look around and see if there's any like, footprints or any clues of like, something that was broken or like moved that he might have escaped through or like a path he might have taken in this cell? - Make a survival check for me. - That 20 foot, 20 feet. - Oh my God, what is with you guys in these 20s? Amazing. - I don't know, that's just glided. - You do see footprints. You see like three sets of footprints coming from the door and then it would appear to be like, maybe a scuffle of some kind with another set of footprints and then drag marks that hit to the shaft. - Okay, maybe Bumlap pushed the guards down the shaft to their doom. - Do we see any bodies down there? - That's a nicer thing than I was gonna say. You thought of a nicer thing than what I thought actually happened. We're just gonna go with that. - Oh. - Doug, as you're following the tracks and like, you know, following the drag marks to the shaft, you hear what appear to be paint screams echoing from below. - Could I look down? - Yeah, you look down and the shaft descends into dark, 'cause you have dark vision though, right? - Yeah. - It extends beyond the range of your darkness. It's 30 stories, you know, all the way down. So you can see what, like, 30 feet with dark vision? - How far is dark vision? - Yes, but what if I imbued a little-- - 60 feet. - Clump of mud with a radius light. - Yeah, how big is a radius on that? - It's only five feet, but if I drop it all the way to the bottom, it'll light up the bottom, which might, you know. - Yeah, but then there will no way we're coming. If you want, you tell me. - Yeah, I wanna do that. - Okay, yeah, Doug, you imbue a clump of mud with some light and drop it down the shaft and you see it fall all the way down, presumably 30 floors down to the bottom, and then it stops. It seems to hit something at the bottom and stops. - Nanny wants to investigate the pulley system. - Yeah, is there something specific you wanna know about it? - Is it like, if Nanny starts pulling it, does something sound like it's coming up? - Yeah, you begin pulling on it and it sounds like something is indeed coming up. And after pulling on it for a bit, a small platform comes up with a piece of mud that's glowing. - We'll say no, you can still see the light down at the bottom. - Okay. - We'll say it bounced and fell off the platform. Just, unless you want to tell, I'm trying to help you guys. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, I think I got a strong notion we should go to the bottom of this, to get to the bottom of this. - I do not want to leave with that. My friend, I've already done it once. - Well, we're not leaving. We're still technically in the area of this prison and we're just investigating 'cause he's not here. - Yeah, yeah, that was Gunther agreeing. - Yeah, it's not clear when you talk like that. - It's a clarification, like saying yes. - It sounded like you were disagreeing to me. - Yeah, no, no, sorry. That was him agreeing wanting to investigate before leaving. - Oh, okay, okay. - The only thing I'll add to this, I actually told once to look at the kind of prison manifest type thing and see if there's anything about gear equipment, like things held from the prisoners on there. - Yeah, there's an inventory and a locker denoted by everyone and it indicates where gear equipment is being stored in the watch tower. - What, oh, the watch tower is in the thing that's separate, like that's outside of our-- - On the other side of the gang plank. - Oh, it's okay, guys. - You remember, I think it was the previous episode, maybe the one before, when you first walked into the watch tower, I said there were a bunch of crates. - Yeah. - All of those crates are numbered and presumably it's in one of those crates. - Okay, I mean, we're already on the gang plank. - Is it across, like, close enough, or is it, like, do I think it's where more guards are? - You've already been back and forth there a few times as you've been activating it, so-- - Oh. - You think you'd be all right? - Okay, before we go gang, let's go get to our equipment. It's out over here, so let's go through these crates. - Okay, we do that. - Yeah, you all find out something. Hey, Doug, it's gambot. - Oh, kill, I always miss you, buddy. - It's Bjorn's skin. - Oh, I miss you, buddy. - Can I look in box 30? - Yeah, they're not numbered by the cell. It's just random numbers, presumably, for each crate. They number the crate starting from one instead of attaching the cell. It's a horribly inefficient system. - All right. Is there any way for me to search and see if I could find bun laps? See, yeah, they exist, though, 'cause that would also give information as to whether or not he's here. - Sure. Let's see next to bun laps name on the manifest that, there is a number next to bun laps name. So you find that box and open it up and you see what you know to be bun laps gear in there. There's a, you're the familiar green plate armor, Lance Longbow in field. - Yes, he is here. - Now, you wouldn't leave without taking a stuff, right? - No, well, that begs the question. Gunther, when you broke out the last time, did you take your stuff? - I guess I didn't. - Is your old crate somewhere here? - Oh, yeah, I like, you probably would have, 'cause you had the sword help from your father. - That's right, I did, so I must have. - Yeah, yeah, so I would assume you did take your stuff. - Yes. - Sorry, Creosel's trying to hook you up with like a cool sword upgrade or something, but, all right, yeah, yeah. - Sorry, it's, it's all right, I'll get you to the next one. - Yeah, yeah. (laughing) All right, so should we take the shaft down? - Yes. - Yes, please. - Okay. - Quickly, baby face, duck fog, why so, let's go. - Oh, I think we're good. We're gonna see our way out. - There is no way we're going back to the prison. - Fair, this actually, this actually works out because they can gotta be a distraction. - Okay. - Best of luck, you can do it, we believe in you. (laughing) - Yeah, they just make their way out of the watch tower into the frozen waste. - I'm worried about what we just let loose on society. - It's, it's necessary evil for us to get out of here and to find bun lap. - As long as Kenjoman's still locked away. - Kenjoman smashed, cut to Kenjoman, just like looking around and realizing he's all alone. (laughing) - Kenjoman. - Kenjoman probably just thinks he imagined Doug or something. (laughing) - Okay, yeah, you all cross back over to the prison tower and make your way into the shaft and then make your way down to the very base of it. - All of you make me perception checks, okay? - Yo, my god, got another 20. - Is that three in a row for you? - I also got a nat 20. - That's, that would be. - That's three in a row. - Three, four, five, 20s in a row from us. - Yeah. - Yeah, 15 p.m. is broken today. - Guess what, guys, I got a critical failure. (laughing) - Oh, balancing it out. I got a nine. - Yeah, okay. - Daddy just falls down. - Tuk, tuk, tuk, tuk, tuk. (laughing) - As you all are descending, you hear the muted sounds of screams and water droplets and you notice that the air is becoming even colder. It's bitterly cold.
and you come to the very bottom of the shaft and you see Doug's little clump of illuminated mud here at the floor with you. - Oh, grab that. - Gigi eats it. - Oh, you just see the light. - It's your light tookie. - It's like what, you put like a red filter or red gel over the light. And you know, Gigi's just like, there's like a dull red light illuminating this the shaft. - And then we see inside it, Gigi and all the other things that Gigi's eating like floating around in the air. - Oh my, it's rock. - All that's gonna be, all that stuff's gonna be so bad when it has to pass. - Oh. - He pooped once a year. - There are my pebbles. (Gigi laughs) - And on the floor here, you see a hatch with what's called a dog. It's like a wheel handle for the pulley. - Okay, I open the hatch. - Okay, you open up the hatch and inside, on the other side of the hatch, I should say, you see a hexagonal room, a rather large hexagonal room. It's got a metal floor with walls and a ceiling that's 60 feet high. The floor is flooded with a few feet of frigid bloody water and patches of ice. - Oh. - There's a large and tall pedestal. It's about 30 feet high in the center with shackles attached to the sides. Then there are also six tapestries, one hanging on each wall. - Are we at the top of this thing looking down into it? - Yeah, correct, you're at the ceiling like looking down into it. - What's it lit by? - There are sconces with porches in them that appear to be illuminating the room. - Anybody attached to the shackles? - No, Bundlep is not on the platform. - I wonder whose skeleton hand that was in Bundlep's cell. - I think that was a skeleton key. - No, it was a key in a skeleton hand. That was manacled. So I don't know whose hand that was, but it didn't look to be the size of what Bundlep's would be. So maybe just a guard or the other cellmate or something? - I don't know, but I need to talk to this interior design, or I mean, I'd love what they've done with the place. - Smiley talked about this place. He said there's a basement where, where noughty people went to. - See, what are the tapestries? - Should we drop down? - Yeah. - Is there a way to get down that like someone would normally do or is it like, you just get normally just get thrown in? - It does not appear there's a way to let yourself down. - Who's got a rope? - I have spider silk stockings that can help me walk walls. - That isn't help, that's not the question I ask. - Well, I could take people down with me, because I can walk on the walls. - I believe I have rope. - Okay. - Yeah, I have rope too. - Can we tie it off and lower it down? - Sure. - Let me do my special nautical knots. Tole taught me. - Well, I've heard a book about these. - Yeah, Tole's book. - Keep mentioning it, because every time you do, I get royalties. - As you're doing that, Doug, you feel like you hear a muffled voice calling out. - Doug would go towards the voice. - Guys, I think I heard someone over here. - It seems like it's coming from behind one of the tapestries. - Interesting. I asked earlier, but it kind of got glazed over. What are on the tapestries? - Yeah, there's six tapestries, one hanging on each wall. One of them is a gradient of blue colors. Another one appears to depict a pile of bloody limbs and bones. The next one is a pair of hands with fingers tied together. Another one is a tombstone. - Like a pizza? - Yeah, exactly, pepperoni. - Pepperoni or like supreme. - The next one is two faces, one of which is covering its ears and the other is covering its eyes. And the final one is a face filled with a question mark. - Okay, yeah, that tells us a lot. - Part of it didn't. - This is all within the prison area, huh? - Yes, you're presumably like at the bottom or below the prison. - Yeah, potentially underground. - As you all are taking the room in, a faceless yet familiar voice reflects off the walls. - There's no use hiding it. I can smell your fear. - The warden steps out from behind the tombstone tapestry and takes in a deep breath through her nose. You feel a tingle run down your spine. Everyone make a charisma saving throw. - Oh. - All right, let's get rid of you. - Ooh, that's a four. - Okay. - 18. - 16. - Oh, 28, 30, 20. - Nice. - Well, I'm glad one of us failed so we can see what's gonna happen. And I-- - Yeah. - I did that for you guys, here you go. - Hold, you feel an all-consuming fear washing over you like an ice-cold wave. You immediately drop within your hands and check off running in the opposite direction away from the warden as fast as you can. Medigame-wise, you're under the condition frightened. - Right in. - The other three of you, you steal yourself as a deluge of fear crashes over you, but even though it doesn't take fully control your knees buckle beneath you, forcing you to fall prone. - Oh, okay. - In here, no one can hear your screams. - In here, I am the warden. In here, I am the queen of nightmares. - Her horned rims spectacles flash over her eyes and the tapestry behind her flaps from a ghastly wind. The thread works shifts from a tombstone into a crank. And all at once the crank begins wretching with a click, click, click, click. And the ceiling rumbles to life, lowering menacingly toward the floor and view. - Everyone roll initiative. (dramatic music) - Ah! - A safe but not. - We're never finding this stupid frog. - But Lab died years ago. (laughing) - It ain't easy being green. - We're dealing with a shudder island situation here. - Yeah. - It's time for battle toads. (laughing) - Someone get Brian Gar on the phone. (laughing) - All right, thanks for listening, everybody. We'll see you next time. - Do you smell that? Smells like Stinkuary. Some people call it February, but they would be wrong.
