And so it's there's something to be said Jesse as you will know because you've been doing this as long as I have that when you tell the truth about a player or a team some fans don't want to hear that. That's true. And it's really unfortunate because it's not a negative. I know that Hader is the term that we've had over the over a decade plus if you say something that's a truth you are Hader. Instead of just being able to experience it many times this morning. This is playing and those lean years with the Cubs you know when things started to go south nobody wanted to believe it. Listen, my thought on the white socks on the white socks the Cubs, bears, bulls, oxes that hey if a team is underachieving or players underachieving we have to call it out and that's saying that this is who they are but we're talking about who they are at the time. Well the Chicago Bears what a terrific season that the Bears had. You know you are a heartbeat away from getting to the NFC championship game and it was just a fun season filled with a lot of great highlights. Having said that you still look at the team and say boy they need to be able to upgrade in some positions. It's one thing to be the greatest bears fan ever you are painting your body in blue and orange all good. However Jesse you still look at your team every year with a critical eye not criticism but a critical eye saying you know what I like this but boy if we ever got this man we really get a chance to get to Lumbarie trophy and so Shane's doing the show yesterday with Pat the designer and we he's saying what a lot of people are saying and that is hey your defensive line needs to be better you know you need to be able to have more of a pass rush if you feel like you have the quarterback right got your vice-sever's right got the head coach right you feel like your secondary is improving then hey you just need to get a pass rush and the numbers are what they are or anyone else can't be crushed for saying hey we want the defensive line to be better. No I and it's kind of a common theme right now with this team I don't think you're a hater to just say something like this I will say this here's here's my take on it Jayhood last year or going into last year during the year and I know I said this at some point we've been so offensively starved in this town that even if the bull even if the bears were losing games like 34 31 I would look at that as an advancement sure like hey finally we've an offense it's an offensively the rules trend towards off you know offense and if we started losing games the bear started losing games 34 31 for example I'd be okay with that even in losses but now a year later knowing that this was kind of your weakness if they are if they continue to lose games even in high scoring fashion that's kind of like shame on you. You saw that this was a weakness I'm I'm being you know talking in general out generalities basically if you're losing games because you don't have a pass rush or even a run stopping middle the line that that's on you that's on you but I'm willing to give they may chance because maybe they'll get up 34 and still score 38 because they keep adding to their offense so but but now they're sort of on the clock you know defensively I mean what this defense does you don't want to add a lot to it okay then you better be better that much better in offense or the returning guys on defense along with the new safety can be can be can be good as well so I guess they've earned the benefit of the doubt but certainly draft wise it was it was kind of like a Ben Johnson draft in a lot of ways the tight end is certainly the Ben Johnson pick maybe even Xavier and Thomas as well so being critical of the defense I think is normal right now. All I'm saying Shay and I think it's pretty practical for me to say hey I want to have balance if you feel like your offense is good you want your defense to be as good or as closely good as possible this whole thing that there's going to be magic this upcoming season with these miracle throws down the field or being able to do what the Bears did as far as you know getting take away. That's that's different if the Bears say themselves by the way that every season's different like whatever happened last year doesn't matter pull the jingapin and now we now we start over and that's how you feel then you have to look at it also to fresh that a rise and say the defense has to be better. Shay you did the show yesterday you're a fairly experiencing this with some bears fans about what they said right. No it's just the reaction is always surprising to me I think the way that we talk sports now kind of sucks because should I go home then no no no I'm not saying what we do I'm saying the way people engage with it because if you say like all I've said is I still think this team is very good I still view them as a contender but if it doesn't go that way we're going to know what the problem was it will be the defensive line it will be the lack of a pass rush because they haven't addressed it and people all you're an idiot they paid dio stop it. Dio makes pennies on the dollar in the edge russia market that was not a serious acquisition like they haven't made a serious acquisition since Montez sweat and Montez sweat isn't good enough to be the solo guy. So it's just always bothered me they're a little flippin about it and then polls does the whole thing we think we can let the quarterback hold the ball a little longer. Okay good luck. So all I've hit it like this is I believe it's their philosophy they think they can win in other places and they're either going to be right or they're going to be wrong and if they're right then we'll be partying in the February and nobody will care about this if they're wrong it's probably going to be a reality check where next off season they're going to have to adjust priorities a little bit. Yeah that's just where we're at. I think a lot of people hope they would have done that this off season that's what I'm saying 3431 on the losing end last year was okay this year won't be okay but then you said you've been you've been given the opportunity to improve and into it now having said that I do like what they did with the defensive backs that's part of the defense sure I know they had all these interceptions but I actually like the moves the fourth round pick my homie I think is a good move and obviously the first round picked everyone like so I do think their defensive backfield could be better that doesn't necessarily improve your past rush but it still makes you better on defense. I know you see Tina Minnie you think he's going to be spending time with your north brook you will not be he's that that's a lot of Tina Minns are here get to get the fine china out oh my well he's the fastest man in order. He's not coming out but but as I said Jay and I've been saying is that it's funny when you look at this depth chart everything it did in free agency and in the draft you win as far as to try to figure out what's next for the Chicago Bears but you did not go and do that for the defensive line secondary linebackers offensive line you did everything else to try to a wide receiver tied in you did all these things but not off the defensive line that's a step too far and that that's my problem my problem is is that if you took care of everything else that's for the future and you feel like eventually these guys are going to be starters or you plug them into be starters then why you do that with the defensive line if you believe in sweat dexter and jordan a dingbo fine it better work that's all I'm saying I'm saying it won't yes I'm saying is it better work because if it doesn't then they got they got a price to pay around here but again I don't care if you win 38 34 as long as you win look but now you're depending on the arm of and actually more strain on Caleb Williams and the offense to be able to do more than did last year yeah what they did last year was good I don't expect them to score 40 points a game they shouldn't have to have a good defense I think there are nine tight ends drafted in the first three round shape probably knows that's a lot and that tells you something about the league that tells you something about the league so the the tight end pick to me is a Ben Johnson trust me pick I don't know what the Xavier and Thomas pick is exactly except that we're weak in that room I guess it's it's it's it was a record low number of offensive backfield players taken in the top 100 in this draft yeah in other words this was a big people draft everybody drafted guys in the line of scrimmage except apparently the bears in the top 100 right like that they were the one they were the exception that didn't do it which that's fine again you got to be right like if this is your philosophy and then I love people will say well what did how he roseman say uh if we fill every need then we probably didn't have a very good to draft and they're throwing it at people like it's some excuse for Ryan Poles to not fill the needed edge rusher. But what does how he roseman do? He drafted Jalen Carter, he drafted Nolan Smith, he drafted Jordan Davis, he acquired Milton Williams, he flipped a pick in this draft for Jonathan Grenard. So don't use that and tell me see, see that guy values D line more than anybody in the list. It's a nice like quote comment comment, but like you can't take that as the end all be all, we get what he means by that. We all understand what he means by that, but that doesn't mean if you have a, you know, gauging hole in one area of your team, you don't try to fix it. But look, I think they they've earned our trust certainly and yeah, sure. But a year from now, if we've seen a bunch of, you know, they didn't score, they gave up so many points that they didn't win enough because of it, then they're going to be under the microscope. I trust them enough that they can do things the way they want to do them. And if it works, we're all going to be happy with it. It's just, it doesn't seem to be the way that other teams that win consistently that have made Super Bowl appearances in conference title game appearances. Those teams don't build the example. The cowboys who had Micah Parsons kind of restocked their, their, their past. 100% you know, so that again, I think it's good. And one of them was taken right after the Bears pick. I can't remember who, but I think that's an example of philosophy. You're talking about a philosophy that clearly Ryan Poles/Ben Johnson has and that's what they're, they're using moving forward. You just have to prioritize everything and that just offense. There's only one, I will say that as I said before last season, there's only one football and it worked out well offensively for the Bears in which they scored a lot, but there's still one football to have three tight ends is, is, is ridiculous. And the third tight end is what Stephen Carlson could do. Well, if you want to get really, like if you want to be really dramatic about your criticism, you could say that. You could also say, say drafting the center there. Now that part of that was because of Dolman, but you didn't have to draft the center there, but it's probably the smart move. You know why the pistons won that championship in '03? I guess the Lakers because there's only one basketball that same team the Lakers had. They thought, hey, if we had a whole bunch of more, you know, Hall of Fame scoring, we could win. The pistons just played good basketball. And that's the team, by the way, Jesse that had Kobe that had Shaq that had Gary Peyton that had Carl Malone on it. You like, they had all these great players. Horace Grant was on that team. Rick Fox, Derek Fisher, the only problem is there's only one basketball. And so and when I'm saying about the offense, look, Ben, as is before the draft, I liked what they had offensively speaking, the Bears. Now you added a wide receiver, another wide receiver, you had another tight end. And to me, it's just about Ben Johnson's toys. And it should be about the entire football. You could have made a case that bird as real playmakers, burden, a Dune Zay, Komet and Lovelin was kind of enough. And there's a third guy like you could have made that case. And then they went out and added a tight end and a wide receiver. You know, but yeah, I mean, obviously you need depth and all that stuff. But in terms of frontline players, you could have made the case that was enough. If you if we didn't have the draft, I would have been satisfied with in front of me. And you could still win a lot of football games. But for this head coach, pseudo GM, he needs more toys. And I want more toys on the defensive line. I don't think I'm asking too much because eventually, as these guys get older and more ineffective, you want to cycle in the new. I'll just say what I said before, if they were loading up on defense and not offense, it'd be really weird because the game is gone in this direction. Well, we live those. At least that forever. Right. We live there for that forever. The way the rules are now at least they're they're loading up on the on the side of the ball. They should, you still can't win at all without a great defense. I mean, you do need both three one two three three two ESPN three three two three seven seven sixes our phone. I was going to talk to you about the bears. I tell you what Jesse is. We talk about like the defensive line and what the bears could be. I'll take this over trying to figure out who the quarterback and the next head coach is going to be for the bears. Yes. That's been our whole existence. We raised the bar on topics here. It's no longer the bottom of the barrel. My memory of the old days is not that long ago is is listening to this show and even the other shows week 13. Hey, are you rooting against the bears for the high of the. Oh my God. I'm rooting for that. That is stuck in my mind because we did that for like three straight seasons. But we've we've advanced our topics. Just like the junkie. You just want another taste. Yeah. I just want a lot of taste. You just want you want to have your beak wet just again because you get to winning the North. You get past the packers. You are able to win games in the playoffs. And so now you just want another taste. You just want to be able to maintain or or exceed what you did the previous year. It is 2026 going to be the Cubs version of 2016 after 2015. 15 was out of nowhere in a gravy. You know, just say has get as far as you can. First time in the playoffs in a while. They win a wild card game. Then they went another round against the Cardinals and then they get swept against the Metz. It just ended, you know, boom, right there. But it was a magical kind of season. Then next year they came back and beat up on everyone. 25 and six start to the year when the world when the World Series is is 26 going to be an advancement, a continuation of 25. It's hard to do that in football or is it just some sort of reset. We don't know what we're going to get. Those are kind of the questions I'm thinking about. Okay. So, you know, do you want the old five white socks championship coming out of nowhere? At least you know they're coming the socks. So you probably want the Cubs way where you got to taste and then the next year you will. Well, in this case, it can only go the Cubs way because you got the taste and then you win. Now, if they're bad in 26, then 27 will come out of nowhere. That's the only way they'd win in 27. So it's really about what you did the year before in terms of thinking about that next year. But it feels like the bears can pick up where they left off critics would say, wait a minute, they won all those games in the fourth quarter. No, no, no, no, there's no picking up where they left off. It's completely starting over. So let's get your thoughts. 312, 332, ESPN is our phone number. I love where the bears are right now. As far as a team, they had coached the quarterback. A lot of the cornerstones on this bear's team. We're just talking about like their philosophy and the draft because as I told Tyler yesterday, I feel like Ryan Poles in some ways has lost a little bit of a grip where it's really Ben Johnson that is overseeing all of this of the things that he wants to toys that he wants. Hey, they won last year. Now, I want to see them do it this year and keep moving forward. Bears are more than just being the Packers every year. It's about winning the championship. That's the key to get that lumbarity. I want this generation, the younger generation to feel what it's like when the bears win the Super Bowl. You and I know it. We know what it's like how the city just turned upside down. It's like the Cubs, just like the like so many other teams around here, but it's different with the bears, especially because it galvanized the city because that's where Cubs and Sox fans agree because they're all bears fans. Of course, the longer you go between Super Bowl titles, the more hungry you are for less people have seen it, right? As we get older, right? And new fans come around. Yeah. I mean, O6 was fun, but they didn't win it. They didn't win it. So now you're thinking lumbarity trophy after having that taste last year. All right, let's go to the phone. I'll evoke the words of our previous owner. We need to our L A X because it I mean, overall was a good draft, but I do think that they panicked at 57 and they just grabbed the center. You probably could have just grabbed the center at 60. If your guys were gone, you grabbed the center at 60 and you tree 57. And that's where you recoup some of your draft cap, but I think they freaked out. I think it was a, I think we missed in cutting hand. And, and one, and two, I'll say the kid from LSU, the four two guys, he was probably going to be more like a Jermir Gibbs in our uniform. That's what I'm thinking that he's going to be a screen guy behind those three tight ends. If he could, if he could ship, learn how to chip, then he can be a weapon in the backfield for us behind those three tight ends. But it would have been nice to see a defensive end. It really would have been nice or a defensive tackle. But I'm okay with what they did overall. Okay, appreciate your telephone call. We can always look at the Bears the way, you know, from our view. I can't relax. I'm in a major market and I'm a Bears fan. But listen, you do you, but for me, I can't relax as a Bears fan because as I mentioned, once you've got a taste of winning, you want more. And so I'm always one that's going to hold the teams accountable. It's not a negative as much as it is just saying, Hey, man, don't forget this or I like to see that. And again, I might not get my wish. But yeah, there is no relax in Chicago. Okay. I'm beginning. You relax on the south side. Do you want to do it? But for me, Jesse, it's urgent because I want the Bears to continue to succeed for Caleb Williams and for the rest of the Bears. I think you relax when your teams, you know, 15 and two or something like that or if one couple super bulls in a row, you don't relax right now. He said he wanted to trade down from 57 instead of taking Logan Jones now what he said, the next center was taken at 63 Jake slaughters. So it's not like you could draw, you know, trade down that far and still get a good center. I guess, Mike, who isn't relaxed though? It's not like anybody's preaching apocalypse. Right. Right. The bears are still absolutely a contender. It's just they had a clear weakest position at the start of the off season. That same position is still the same clearest weakness. Having said that, are we supposed to not talk about that? Because if consume more than I have, I haven't said that. I haven't seen draft analysis grades for whatever that's worth that have been that bad. Like most people are like a plus with the first round pick, pretty much a really good high grade on the second round pick. Like just the idea they didn't feel that need lowered their analysis, but most people have liked the draft. Am I wrong about that? I liked the draft. Yeah. Yeah. I trust Ben Johnson and getting a tight end involved and getting a wide receiver involved. That question that they were both taken in the third round, but they probably have more info on the board than we do. So like nobody's saying that the team is doomed because they didn't take a deal. I mean, it's just how are they going to get better there because they were one of the two words to say before you we get to focus on the minutiae now. If that's what you want to call it instead of just like, hey, what quarterback are we taking? You're going to start this rebuild, you know what I mean? The simplest way I could break it down, Jesse is I liked day one. I did not like day two at all. And I liked day three. Okay. Of the draft. That's how I look at it. Day two to me is like, I still think that they should have been able to address the defensive line of the future. There was someone that could have been there and they did not. It doesn't mean that the bears are going backwards or sideways. I'm just saying that I feel like Ben Johnson has a hold on this team more than we probably more than we know. Norman retiring. Would that be like, I don't know, Alex Breggman decides to retire next year, one year in, you made this commitment. Like, how bad was the Norman retirement? You know what I mean? That's a tough one because of leadership and because you got to fill the spot. I understand. Although they didn't have to right away. And besides, Breggman retires, you got match. That's right. That's right. That's right. Well, you need Breggman to get match. Rick it saves. Rick it saves money again. I'd rather for if Breggman retired at Shaw's at third base, I'd rather have that than him rattling around the corner, looking for a ball and what feel like he was yesterday. So look, Shay already read me some stats when I mention what I'm about to say to him real quick. So a quick comment and a quick question. All right. Look, I'm going to name some names. Max Crosby. Yep. JJ White, Khalil Mac, Miles Garrett. All of them have something in common. No super bowls. I'm not tripping on the passwords really from the defensive end position. More so, I'm looking just for a complete defense. Faster, I think they got faster than not going to get burned over the top, which has been very common. But what do you think about the comment of that the caller made about in command? Does that have any weight? And also, yeah, my comment. Who cares? Who cares about the password? Although leading passwords just have no super bowls. We're done with that. We've had good defense. We haven't won super bowls. Let's get familiar with having a good offense like modern times. That's what it's about. Yeah, I mean, I get the question. What are you saying? Well, I would agree. There's only one of us. No, I would agree with you in flowers, but then you'd both be wrong. So, this whole thing where defense, who cares, doesn't matter. Tell me that you know nothing about football. Well, tell me that you know anything about football. You win with three phases, but most importantly, offense and defense. The numbers are what they are when you are ranked 29th in league in yards per play. When you're bottom third in the league in nearly every defensive category, you want to upgrade that. Like, maybe you play Madden and all you care about is the fly of the football. And that's fine. You're entitled to do as a football fan. But ultimately, it's about offense and defense as to see Hawks how they got there. You think they just got there because of offense? They got there because of both sides of the football offense and defense. So flowers, listen, enjoy football the way you enjoy it. But for on this side of the table, someone has been watching football for a long time, consuming it. The way you win is be able to have a strong defensive line when I say opportunistic secondary. Like an offense that hums the idea that you just win on one side of the football is wrong. >> When I said I agree with the gist is what he said at the end, let's take care of the offense because of what I said earlier. We know this is an offensive league. The rules are slanted that way. So if you're going to load up, load up on offense, I said that earlier and make sure you can beat teams that way, score enough, outscore teams. That's the number one thing. Improve your defense to the point where you can make it because you mentioned Seattle and you're not wrong. You're not wrong. However, the bears as is were one game away, one game away. So it's not like necessarily they have to get that much better on defense, especially if you're getting that much better on offense. >> But I heard one game away. >> I heard Waddle talking about this yesterday and it's a great point because yeah, they were one game away. But again, we have to remember the context that exists in, are you going to erase one of the largest point deficits in the history of the NFL playoffs again next year? But you know things can go different. You can be the team leading by 20. I agree. >> I agree. They could be the team leading by 20 and I've said I think they'll be better this year and a lot of the games they won last year in like Disney movie fashion. They're not going to have to win it that way anymore. But there will also be games that they won this year in Disney movie fashion that they're going to lose. Like that's just the way the NFL works. And of all 14 playoff teams last year, where did the Bears rank and points allowed? Fourteenth. Yeah. >> And we go back into this season and still view the defense as weak. Like that, that's where hoodie makes a great point. Last year's Seattle number two defense and football. They win the Super Bowl. >> Yeah. >> A couple of years ago, Kansas City, how did they get back? The Kansas City get back because they loaded up on offense. No, they had one of the three best defenses in the league. >> See, I'm one of those guys that thinks even though they had all those interceptions, they got better in the defensive backfield with their draft. >> They did. >> Because I just, the cover, I don't know if they're selling out for their interceptions, I don't know if they break down the tape like you guys do sometimes. But like coverage wasn't great yet they got interceptions in my mind. So you can improve that way, you don't just have to improve on the defensive line. So I think they improve their defensive backs even though there's going to be a couple of rookies possibly playing. >> Jesse. >> But I don't disagree that they're short on the defensive line and don't disagree with that. >> But Jesse, my point is that in Friensi in the draft, the Bears are dressed almost every position but defensive line, no, that's a bridge too far. And I'm saying that if you're going to improve, if you feel like you need to upgrade in some positions, how about as important as trying to get to the quarterback? That's not important. >> It is. >> Okay, so to Shay's point and this we were talking about as great as the season was last year for the Bears, how magical it was, you know it regresses to the mean sometimes. You know how that works in sports Jesse, how you get to a certain point like can you believe that throw up from Caleb Williams and can you believe how opportunistic that the secondary was in all those interceptions? >> Okay, so I don't expect a lot of that this year. That's not sustainable for every year for the Bears to be that good. So because of that, take care of the future of your defensive line. Now here's what they're banking on. The first quote that came out of House Hall on Saturday after the draft was, "Well, we've got to coach him up harder." Coach him up. How's it much of veterans? You got to coach him up? >> That's what you say when you don't have the, you know, super talent. >> Yeah. >> So listen, nobody has to coach up Micah Parsons, right? I'm here. I'm here to tell you that I don't sit here every morning to be right. I'm here to say- >> I know that. >> Yeah, I'm not here to be right. Absolutely not. I'm here to hope that our favorite team around here is able to excel and be better than they were even the previous year. That's all. Yeah, yeah. The Bears were able to get by on not having a pass rush throughout the regular season. But again, a lot of that is because of how magical the secondary was, how magical Caleb Williams was. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't have to pull out a magic wand. You should have results from your defensive line. >> I think it's- >> I think it's- >> Tangible results. >> I think it probably is fair to say there are better team on paper than they were, but their defense is not necessarily better. I think that's a fair statement. Your linebackers and secondary should be solid. >> Should be solid, but that doesn't mean the rookies are going to come through. I just mentioned rookies and your defensive line is no better. So- >> Jesse, don't be so negative. >> Well, I'm the one who- >> I'm the positive. >> Bear down, Hater. >> Bear down. Look, as big of Bears fans I am, I'm always going to hold them accountable. If people use that as hate or if accountability is hate, then let it accountability be hate. But I'm holding the team accountable for them to get even better than last year. That's the hope. Oh yeah, the crazy air and just like the speed. Yeah. Jesse, 241 average. A Homer in 7RBI is 620 OPS. Jesse, we talked about him being one of the faces of baseball. Even Kevin Durant said, "Hey, watch this kid, man." He had a great conversation with PCA. Not saying that he's gotten into the bloodstream of, you know, difference athletes and people are impressed with his speed and all that and his swagger. He's 24, you don't give up on the kid, but it's a rough start when you're hitting eighth or ninth on a regular basis. -And signed for 100 million, so people attach that as well. And I want to hear from Cup Vans 312-3323-3776, especially those that are jumping off ship with him or just want to be critical of him and maybe others that are still back, you know, I shouldn't even have to ask that. We're less than a month in to this contract and to this new season and J-hood. I'm here to tell you, you've got to have some patience with players. I don't care what they're making. Their salary doesn't go into their batter's box with them. They're salary separate. I know people attach to it. He's still young. He's still learning. They're adjusting to him. He has to adjust back. And there are signs. Listen to this. He's faced, he's had 67 played appearances against right handers, 52 against left handers. That's almost equal, almost 15 more played appearances against righties. It's not easy to play every day as a lefty, 24-year-old, and put up good numbers against lefties. But in fact, he's having better at bats against lefties than righties. And that tells me it is coming. It is coming against righties. 346 on base against lefties. You would never have guessed that. He's taking some walks. He's getting some hits. Yes, the strikeout to walk ratio not great. But I'm here to tell you, it is coming. And it's going to come, the damage is going to come against righties. He's missing some pitches. He should be hitting bottom line. He should be driving. It is coming, Jayhood. You have to have a little patience. We have no patience. Eighth walk. You're married. You need patience. Yes, I am. And also this. I love how Jesse slips in that he's walking. I saw his last walk, by the way. There's balloon to fell from the sky when he actually had a walk. That's not true. He has eight walks this season. If we looked at last year, I bet his eighth walk came in like June, four against left-handed pitching. And they've been key walks several of them. Like to keep the line moving. There's been several key walks against lefties. Three forty six against lefties on base. That's pretty good, Jayhood. That tells me his approach against lefties is getting better. And he actually needs to take that approach against righties, which I think he will. The slug will come. So Jaymore, you understand what's happening right here, right? Are you listening to this? It is a little interchangeable. But I agree at his best, he's not a number nine-hander. He only hit their once yesterday, I believe. Eighth or ninth for the most part of the season. Um, okay. Obviously trying to take the pressure off him, but he will get going against Rides. He will. And he's going to look closer to the old PCA. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I love lefties. How's that look? Well, lefties look decent now. He's hitting 260 with a 340 on base. I'm asking about for the rest of the season, do you believe that he'll turn the corner against lefties? I'm going to say yes, because he already has no sense. Now, there's going to be ups and downs. He needs to do damage against right-handed pitching, especially just those cookies he gets. And he is getting him. He's just not driving them all. His chase rate is starting to come down a little bit. I'm telling you, it's there. It's there. Well, I'll say this that I'm not just like going to go over the top of what he is in the lineup because that used to be a topic 10, 15 years ago about where you play certain players in the lineup. So I'm not going to do that. Peter Armstrong is good enough to turn the lineup over for a corner, which is fine. I'm just talking about status for Peter Armstrong. I get it. Hitting ninth and scuffling. That's a tough way to go. Well, we could look it up how many players that currently have a $100 million contract or more are hitting ninth even for a game. I'm sure there's one out there somewhere. But again, when we attach money, then it looks even worse. But I think you have to separate his defense and his speed is half the reason he got paid. What he got paid, he's still playing great center field. He actually has gotten caught stealing a few more times than he showed up. And I actually saw him recently. I've never seen this before. I saw him working on his base stealing at first base with five coaches around him. I mean, these days there's 20 coaches now. There were five, the third base coach, the first base, there were five coaches, the bench coach working with them on stolen base on stealing bases, lead offs, whatever. That was a few days ago at Riggley Field. He has, I think, six steals and he's caught, been caught three times. That's that a great percentage. I guess what I'm saying, Jayhood is the best is yet to come with Pete. Boy, what a waste of time for those coaches. He's got to get on to steal bases. Three, one, two. His defense is so good, though. I don't disagree he has to do better than that, whatever that is, to sort of bring him back to being the face. I agree with that. You have to be both sides. You have to play good defense and good offense, or let somebody consider you a superstar. In NBA, you could be a superstar and just be all defense. Let me add something else to this. You'll scoff at it, but you brought up the defense. Like show me how many centerfielder are five-tool players. There's not as many as you think. Almost not. Mike Trial wasn't anomaly. Jackson Merrill plays out there. He's a converted in fielder. Like center fielders play defense, run a little bit. Oh boy, you got pop. Okay, we'll take that. You can hit for an average a little bit. Like there's not a lot of centerfielders. Why do you think he was easily on team USA? There's not a lot of choices out there for Mark DeRosa. Especially defensively. Especially defensively, yes. I get it. It's happening. Yeah, because it's defense. Yeah, I mean, you can go get him. Right? There's a position there that is not known for offense, at least in this day and age. His nephew, Jafar Jackson, who plays him, when I first started watching it, it was, yeah, he really embodied Michael. Yeah, there's a picture right there. It's pretty good. He is pretty good. He is.
