I feel like I-- - That's okay. - I came, I was really hard on him in the beginning. - That's okay. - And God forbid, I have low expectations. Like when it comes to white people disappointing me, it's just like, you know what I mean? - Well, you never know like a man from a white man from LA. A lot of tears were shed. A lot of emotions were felt. I've never watched, I'll be so brutally honest. This is usually the part where I start falling off. - Oh, I would, yeah. I fall off the second everyone start like locking in, talking about exclusivity. I'm like, yo, just let me know who wins. - Yeah, like loving the chat. - Like first time watching dates. - First time watching dates, but it was actually really sweet and we'll just like go through everything. And like Maya was hinting at, we're planning a little key key around the reunion of possible in person situation. Let's just take it all the way back to our home. - Yeah, so we're just thinking of a little in person to watch party possibly in LA. Yeah, I think we talked about. - Oh girl, at this point it was just giving like, you know what I mean? Everyone shut up challenge. Maybe we didn't, maybe even if we didn't guys okay. No, we did because I talked about Kenzie getting her back massage. - Oh yeah, yeah. - And like let my girl go. Like let my girl go. Okay, let's go down then. - Episode 31. Okay, yes. Oh, I like this. I thought this was really sweet. - The part where they go to the hideaway? - Uh, who went to the hideaway? - Maybe Melanie has been seriously well. - Oh, no. Nothing was sweet about that. - Well, because they play and it's honestly like, listen. Melanie and Sincere, y'all honestly have taught me over this whole entire season and probably the afters of radical acceptance of others because at this point genuinely, one, I can't trust you on the polls. Okay, we knew.do. Two, it's just like, okay. At some point again, the pot and the lid, I just got acknowledged that's not my flavor of pot and I'm gonna have to keep it pushing because they did in fact make it through every single dam episode. Every single voting situation they made it through. That makes no sense and they got to go to the hideaway. - Well, and the thing is too, that honestly really just gags me about that whole situation. And I really appreciated Anaya's mom like, talking to her straight, because when I tell you, it's just like, enablement island, like genuinely, the enabling that happens with Sincere is unlike anything I've ever seen before, like genuinely, whole time accountable, impossible mode. I think also too, I will, the grace I lend is to the fact that like, it is so hard if you've had the experience of your friend dating a genuinely awful person, it gets to a point where it's literally like, do I lose this friendship over their partner being so horrible or do I have to like, just come to some sort of acceptance with boundaries that like, this is who they're choosing and this is who they're gonna be with, and like when they feel ready to like leave, I'll be there. And I feel like, honestly a lot of the girls in the villa kind of arrived at that place, but I will say it was a little more sinister with the enabling because I don't know if they were like, fully, fully like telling Melanie the tea, but I understand the dynamic of like, and I think that's honestly why they ended up voting for them to keep staying, is simply because of the fact that so many people like Melanie and they don't wanna see her go home, but like if you love 'em, let 'em go baby. - If you love 'em, let 'em go. - 'Cause it's just like Melanie's gonna have such an amazing fruitful career, post love island, and I have no doubts about that. And like she honestly like really grew on me a lot and I really grew like a soft spot for her, but I think it is just like really fucking sad that like people kind of created this delusion in her mind that like the reason why they keep getting to stay is because they're a good couple, not because people like Melanie. You know what I'm saying? And that like really had me fucked up. - No, and more on that at 11th of Joly. - But Joly, but yeah, Melanie and Cynthia are going to the higher away, three-fudge and more. - Melanie's saying her mom won't be upset with Cynthia. Like honestly, don't talk about my mom like that. - Don't talk about my mom like that. - Seriously guys, 'cause that's crazy. Katie tells Trinity that her and Zach are official and Trinity says that's a situation ship and they're ensues the drama for the next episode. - Yeah. - For the next episode and a half. - Well, because again, I just feel as though, I just feel like don't say anything. - Like voice shaking, because here's the thing. Like I feel like you can kind of have the conversation of like, "Hey, I'm serious about pursuing this outside of this." Like I feel like if you have to be clear that you're not dating other people at that point, it's just like, I don't know. I mean, again, this one's kind of like, you know, this one's like a pot in a lid situation, where like some people do like the, you know, the extra step of like having an exclusive period before being locked down, but like personally for me and this is like just how I feel. I'm not saying if you feel this way like whatever, but I just feel as though I'm just like, listen, if you're not just gonna like dive all the way in and give it a go, like, I don't know. I just feel like, and maybe I feel extrajaded 'cause I feel like Zach's been doing this weird like cushion full thing with the, I love you just kidding. You know what I mean? - Then his sister clocks, but we'll get to that. - Yeah, and his sister clocks, but also it's like, I think that it almost like rubbed some of the girls the wrong way, and like you guys are already so locked in. It's like, why not just risk like the jumping all the way in, but I understand, I understand, and I can definitely see both sides, but I'm weak at Trinity being like, that's a situation chip. - Yeah. - But also it's like, you know, personal preference. - No, for sure. I mean, I did the exclusive situation first, and I think that like ultimately it comes down to the idea that that makes sense in the real world, perhaps, or just like that can be a step in the real world, where it's like, hey, you know, we still get to know each other, but I'm gonna let you know right now in some respect shit. Like, I'm not seeing anybody else. Are you seeing anybody else, you know, the check-in? But I think within the context of Love Island, it does sound redundant, considering you kind of have two options, which is like exploring or open. But I guess as we get to the end, and they start to talk about the outside world, I get it, but I think personally watching it, I thought that the real problem, and why there was any discourse or conversation, was because the girls just straight up had different ideas of situationships, and not to think about a situation ship, is it's like, we culturally have not agreed on what a situation ship means. I think that's why I lauded the times, it gets kind of messy, because you could be in a situation ship. You both, you could agree with somebody that you're in a situation ship, while both having different ideas of what that means, boundaries, et cetera. So I felt like when I was watching the girls talk about it, I was like, okay, this is giving me, 'cause I understood what Trini was saying for her, where she comes from, this is qualifying as a situation ship, and then Kate is coming from a place of like, well, if we were just kind of messing around, that's a situation ship, it's like, maybe we're not talking about the same definition. - Right, right. - So it's like argue, or like, you know, talk about whether or not you're in a situation ship when y'all ain't even on the same page about the definition, I was like, interesting choices are being made. - Yeah, I think also too, like, depending again, like this is just a projection as someone who's been in longstanding situations, you know what I mean? I think that like, maybe, and again, I don't wanna project this on to Trinity, or any of the girls who are like, that's a situation ship, but I feel like kind of where that term, the fear in there is just kind of like, okay, so we've been like, not wanting to lock it down, I think is more of the fear, but I guess his way of like, Being exclusive is locking it down, but I do agree with the fact that like they do have a lot more moving parts than the other couples like He lives like not in this day. Yeah, cuz I was like write that down. Yeah, what I'm like. I'll show you. It's fuck the hardest It's also the hardest cuz it's like girl the time Change completely 180 and also the seasons are 180 like everything is quite literally 180 like it's winter there Well, it don't even matter. He live in LA by now, so it's like whatever well exactly Yeah, anyways, well that too when Trinity and Bryce were talking about like oh like what are we gonna do? And I was like Trini don't play well Because we're about to enter the season and I literally wrote this down in my notes We're entering the season where if you live in LA all of a sudden they're at every single bar Like the girls are gonna start bar crawling. We about to be like hey saying like he lives in silver lake I'm like oh well, I'm about to see I'm about to see him at the grocery store I know I'm about to be like any of the grocery store okay, and I'll be like hey also Who did I want to oh tt right tt? I want to talk about you love me. Do you love she do she do I she really I feel like her arc And Casey's arc has been like sweet to me. Yeah, I know that there's a lot of pitchfork still for Casey, but I feel like I Feel optimistic about his growth from love Island and like him having to see his actions in 4k like I just think that really didn't like sit right with him I think also like seeing his family Adding a lot of like context to stuff. Yeah, but when tt was like kind of I don't know She always got so emotional about things and I could just kind of relate to the fact that like ask someone who kind of like Holds their emotions in until like there's a moment of vulnerability and then you get like can't help from crying But anyways, I just thought it was really sweet that like you know, she's kind of like in her first like You know, she's in it. She has her first boyfriend and like That she got to like bond with the girls like her saying that like she didn't have like this You know like a lot of friends are like sisterhood like this and stuff like whatever the context of how that ended up Maybe I just kind of felt like I don't know. I felt really happy for her. Yeah, I feel happy for that I feel happy for Casey too. I feel like they're a really good match And so you know, they go to a water park everybody talks about their, you know, one, two's what have we learned from the water park that we didn't already know Arguably nothing. Arguably nothing Also going back to the hideaway something that did have me weak as fuck It's when Melanie was like sitting on the edge of the bed and she was like this is like the first time you go to a guide house You sit on the edge of the bed. I was like that's like so. She had me week ago and that's real. That's really so funny Kenzie, I will say, you know, I don't know still still days and days in exactly still dealing glazing. I just don't No, I'm unsure. I think I'm excited to see. I think Kenzie feels a lot of shame and guilt Right now, which I want her to release. Right. I think that like from movie night and how she was like acting You know people had very like strong opinions and stuff and I think that like again It was a lot of like the pot calling the kettle black and stuff at the same time though. I don't say that in like a Necessarily like super derogatory more so in a way of like grow release yourself because it's like this She never been the same. Yeah, cuz it's like and that's what I mean I feel like the light kind of left her eyes when she was like Like I'm goody proctor like they like put like a you know a red A on her shit like the Salem witch trials and shit But I'm just like I don't know. I feel is though with like her and Dylan She kind of is trying to like almost prove to herself not necessarily even others that like she can yeah Committed to something but Kenzie. I want to argue to you be a young hoe Yeah, girl. You're 24 honestly all the girls young girls young hose But it's just like listen. I just feel as though I'm never gonna let them trap a young hoe down 100% and it's just like if you want to be out there having fun and Dylan is literally trying to be like serious and like I And like serious like just serious He freaks me out like there's something something's something's definitely off about it does not read well I will say something is not reading well and also he is so annoying like He just kept like stealing since serious jokes in this episode and then also he's like oh, I'm a pool Melanie Nigger I will actually beat the living well. He's hilarious and he's been here since day one We just didn't see him remember. He's one of the OGs remember. He's old. He's one of the OGs. Oh my god How we've been punished like that's a Corbin joke mind literally how we've been fucking punished by literally not letting Dylan be an OG We've just punishment punishment fucking punishment. We could have had Sean and now in the final half we have fucking Sean And they should have made Sean a fucking bombshell in cost of honestly run that back He's a bombshell IRL life here. I hope they bring him back next year Maybe I wonder if he would say yes or you know what? I did see a lot of the boys go on love island games from cross the board and also some people from like You ask go to UK and stuff. So I wonder if they'll like move him around in the franchise because he is like, you know, face card Love you face like insane um And do we just do we even touch on Kate and Zack's conversation or do we just skip to the Casey girlfriend scavenger hunt because it's just like Which one's getting the Emmy? I'm gonna go with Casey. I'm gonna go with Casey because that had me like honestly guys I know I get it. We were very well, and let me not talk about us But people are upset. I understand Casey putting together that damn scavenger hunt and watching all of the boys have a hand in it I was like this right here though. This that flavor That's what I leave. That's what I mean because he got it like it almost reminded me like he went back to his roots In the sense that like how he used to be so sweet with a naya and how we were like rooting for him and all this stuff, you know what I mean? Like he really got it He just like needs that refining and like fine-tuning and like again Having to watch yourself in 4k, right like OLED dead ass We'll do something to a bitch like in the Dolby Having to like watch your worst moments play out in front of you like it does two things It turns you into sincere or you like literally or like holy fuck I'm I hated that yeah, yeah, and I feel like even Casey saying that like he's never committed before He's like straight away from all make sense. Yeah, it all starts to make sense doesn't it and him just being like fuck it I'm a jump in yeah, and I love just seeing a boy nervous. I love seeing a boy do some whimsical thing. I love seeing a boy, you know Put their emotions on the line like I feel like that's something that you know the girls crave the girls and the boys in the days We crave just like men, you know dropping the toxic masculinity for five seconds and putting together scavenger hunt and like sitting on the dock Like I'm scared. I'm scared. I was like, yes, yes, yes. Yeah, I'm so creative. She was talking to Zach and she was like you don't even talk to me So right no and right and right and she's real But yeah, and they did make you look like an engagement Dylan was real as hell pulling out the flip phone because I was like somebody take a picture for Fensta like I don't know No use the content farmer Well, content farms for the house and this is like y'all be thankful. No, yeah But also Yeah, it was just really cute. I also thought when they came back from the Pool or the water park how they all ran back to the girl. Yeah, yeah, that will cuz we're in that air and that's what that's why I stopped watching because I'd be like Y'all just let me know. I know we're canodling at this point. Yeah, I just also like Yeah, I don't know I kind of feel like to just processing the whole like extra label of like boy friend girlfriend versus like being Exclusive and like the safety measure there and I feel like kind of like to what you're saying like in the real world Where you're kind of under like more normal circumstances? I feel like love island you kind of like hyper speed everything Well, yeah, for sure. You're literally spending every single day with someone and you're kind of getting to know them like And like just I don't know. I feel like especially since Zach and Kada Have been one of the couples that have been together since day one. I can kind of like I guess like personally again. This is like my projection of like I Can really resonate with the fact that like Trinity's just like I just really want you guys to like be together and yeah Like just having that like extra lockdown, but Yeah, we shall see. I mean yeah, I definitely think that um, I don't know I wouldn't come out with a boyfriend though. I'ma be honest. Well, the different sides of the spectrum, you know Yeah, I think though if I was with someone from essentially my day one of love island I would definitely be feeling curious. Well, I don't know again though It is true. He lives in Australia, so it's like yeah, cuz I feel like outside like my feeling comes from the idea that I think in real life it already takes a while to get to know somebody, but also just kind of the and this this shows up in many ways and shout out since you're in Melanie genuinely, but it's just the idea of you know our connection could be really strong, but connection Isn't everything or just the idea of like, you know being outside and how do you interact with other people maybe sincere? What are you gonna do when you get your phone back? Like I'm just like okay, but on the other side it on the other side. other side of that same coin, though. I do vibe with the boyfriend and girlfriend in the sense that I like the idea of just taking the jump and being like, if it doesn't work out, it's just not gonna work out. I think that that's also very vulnerable, very real, very sickening. But I guess I understand in the sense of it's like, when we get out of here, you're not talking to anybody, but also like, where do you shop at the store and like, how do you do your laundry? - Yeah, there's other compatibility things that like do need to be figured out. - But they will for everyone. - Yeah, boyfriend and girlfriend are not. - Yeah, well, I really appreciated Trinity and Kada's conversation around this. 'Cause I felt like Trinity, I feel like she's so good at taking accountability of like how her words can be misconstrued without like having to back down on like her point. - She stands on what she says. - She stands on what she says, but I feel like she's so good at also being like, I also, like, I don't know, she's just so good at taking accountability and I feel like seeing the way like she communicates to Kada and stuff is like so good. Like, I feel like she really just does a good job of like speaking the truth without like taking away what she's trying to say. - Yeah. - And it kind of, it just reminded me of like, when Baya was in the villa and she like had that conversation where she was like, hey, like, you don't know her like that, but like, I understand where you're coming from. - Yeah, like, I just feel like she's always really good at that. - Yeah, 'cause I think there's an element of like, she doesn't have the chip of needing to be right necessarily. She has a really good, she has a capability to kind of see both truths and equally validate them where she's just like, well, I think you'll learn to talk to a relationship, like Melanie, if you like him, like, if you're happy, I'm happy. So it's like, period, 'cause those things allegedly can exist at the same time. Okay, now we're on episode 32, - And it's Family Day. - Which this was the best family day because physically bringing your family to the villa would like everything versus the zoom calls that they do. - Right, picking two is soap. - Well, I guess they don't pick kind of, they just kind of like wait and see who shows up. - Yeah, but damn. - I wonder how that like process works of like who they reach out to and like all this stuff, 'cause there was a lot of family members being like, I wasn't gonna come. - No, exactly, exactly. - And I was just like, okay, Tee. But first off is Bryce and Trinity's family. - And Ann, literally, and Ann, shout out Ann. - Shout out Ann. - Can we talk about how that was so special? - Yeah. - And his grandma, everything bitch, like she is everything, his mom's so sweet. And like I think too, and Trinity's family's just literally everything like her sister's fucking beautiful. Her mom's so beautiful and like their spirits so pure. Like, I don't know, it was just really sweet seeing their families like interact together and like how fun Bryce's grandma was. But also hearing him talk about like his mom and like how she raised him and it just made me like, I was like, fuck, I really like mischaracterized you, like dead ass for real, because genuinely I like was like, you make so much sense. - Well, yeah, yeah, she just gave like matriarch down. And I could have told you that it was giving matriarchs a serious way. - Like, it's giving like respect to the law, respect to the land. - And they turned out a little weird. Like, that's what happened. - And that's the thing. - 'Cause they don't have to buck up, they don't have to buck up. - No, because they know they just like, a little weird. - It's just like, I'm like, we're at the top. - It's like, it's very chill vibes. - But genuinely, it was like so sweet. And I just have been thinking about that family moment. - Right. - It was like, one of my highlights. Second highlight, Anion. - Carl's favorite. - Wait, I do wanna say something, which is Trinity saying that at the beginning she wasn't feeling brace. I was like, guys, 'cause the gas lighting that was happening in my brain, I knew it. That's what I have to say. - Well, yeah. - Well, not even I knew it, but I knew it in the sense of like, in the beginning, I was like, okay, okay, but like, you know, it was kind of up in the air. I was a little like, wait, what's the vibe? What's the vibe? And her saying that, I was like, it all makes sense. And on top of that, it made me feel like, 'cause I see her in a serious way. And I know, I know what that feels like. And her saying that, I was just like, it all makes sense. And if nothing else, like, it genuinely makes it stronger. IMO, because y'all really, I know exactly what that is. They're like, I don't know, like, he's cool. He's not like my usual. And then you turn around and you're like, oh, you're actually the sweetest, like most golden-hearted person ever. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. - I feel like that was the other thing too, with like, Trinity and Bryce, that like makes her story so special because, right. I feel like, again, like, Trinity being able to be so vulnerable, take creatine. And like, explore something that like, she wouldn't typically explore. And like, also like, kind of like, challenging things too. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Just like, also like, voicing her, like, fears with Bryce and being like, hey, like, you know, hey, you like my girls? - Yeah. - I like black guys. - Yeah. - And like, we're kind of dating the opposite types of each other. And yet, like, I think it's like so special that like, I don't know, like, connection can like grow over time. And like, someone that like, you would never imagine yourself with, being like your person, is like really special. And Anaya's family too, like, I thought, again, like, it was just really special getting to, like, connect with her family. But I really, really, and that's what I mean. Like, there's the grace there of like, if you have family and people outside of the situation who could tell you like it is, Anaya's mom being like, I love you, but baby, you need to stop enabling your friend. - Yeah. - Like, I was like, respect to the law there for real. And I feel like she really needs to hear that. But I'm just like, yes, read her, please, like, please read her. Yeah, I just like, in that moment, I kind of, again, this is big projections, this is big like, my interpretations of things, but like his mom being like, very quiet and the only thing she did say was, I'm just happy someone has my son's back. Kind of like clocked everything for me. I think though that like, yeah, yeah. I am happy for KC and TZ, but like, I think seeing KC's family, his sister was obviously very sweet, but like, his mom, I was like, oh. - It was just also giving me like, I don't know if they like rocked with each other like that. Like the moms, like the moms were kind of giving like, yeah, like Shiku. - No! - But that's what I mean. Like, I feel like TZ's family was a little more like, warmer and bubbly, and I feel like his mom isn't giving like, warm and bubbly, but I think on top of that, like, she, I know, I know a mom like that, but. - Right, and that's the thing too, is I was thinking it specifically, as we will see with like, sincere Melanie as well, but it's like, yeah, family day is a cut up, but then also remembering that every family does have dynamics and they have history and you can have, you know, parents siblings coming in, like, reading the dog shit out of you or whatever, but also, I was just thinking to myself, it became very apparent to me, and since he was like, listening to his dad, but I was like, oh, never forget, we don't know, like the complexities of their relationship, we don't know what everyone's seen from their parents, like, we don't know what the TZ is because, I was like, oh, some of y'all kind of like, yo, I was kind of like that. - Yeah. - And I'm like, here and here and here. - Well, that's what I was saying too, 'cause I'm just like, that, I kind of like, felt it through the screen, in that moment, I also felt like, yeah, it kind of had me like, I got scared. I was like, okay him like auditioning Season nine But I he was like I was like I was like I see why you love you know, and they're giving that they gave him that white pick adventure Yeah, for sure, but like Kenzie's mom being like and that's my little baby girl, right? And his dad's video was so Like you have no idea what either before each other. I was like right that don't right that don't right that don't actually had me Sobing honestly all the dad videos had me sobbing. I was like how fucking dare you?
