Bible Interpretation Basics

The transcript is a teaching session on basic Bible interpretation, emphasizing the need to read Scripture in context. The speaker begins with a prayer and then introduces the topic, noting that this series is foundational for discipleship. He stresses that the Bible is not a rulebook but a collection of letters and writings, and that chapter and verse divisions were added later for citation purposes, not for understanding meaning. He explains the three stages of Bible comprehension—observation, interpretation, and application—and highlights the importance of identifying the speaker, audience, and ongoing discourse. Using examples from Ephesians and Acts, he shows how skipping earlier chapters leads to confusion, as phrases like "therefore" or "for this reason" point back to previous arguments. He also illustrates this with Matthew 15, where Jesus’ statement about "every plant" is about traditions of men contradicting God’s commandments, not spiritual warfare. The speaker underscores that culture defines language, so understanding the historical context is vital. He concludes that verses and chapters are useful for referencing, but reading in context is essential for accurate interpretation, warning against isolating verses, which can lead to misinterpretation.

"Avulai, in the name of the Lord Jesus, we thank you, we thank you for wisdom, clarity, choice words, to express the mind of the Holy Ghost consigning this matter. And as you look at the subject of the Bible, what is the Bible, what is the goal of the Bible? What is the aim of the Bible? Thank you for free flow of understanding. Choice words express clearly, in Greek simplicity and power. We thank you for utterance, we thank you for revelation, and we thank you for power, gifts, in abundance and in mighty operations. Sick bodies are healed, miracle is granted to everyone. Thank you, dear as Father, thank you, dear as Lord, Amen, amen, amen, amen, all right. Acts chapter 7, so today we begin the introduction of body weight, these how many teachings now in the discipleship group, in discipleship initiative. So we will be looking at Bible interpretation, basic Bible interpretations. This is a series I do every year, so this is not even part of the series. We have done this series for it at the beginning part of the year, we call it the Bible study tool kit or the study tool kit. So those were some advanced things, but now we look at the basics and it's quite hard to see it in a very basic manner because the subject of Bible interpretation is a weekly subject, is something of high importance. It's something that many persons, if you miss it, you can as well kiss your devotion to God, good bye. So before we look at what are the rooms of Bible interpretation, at the end of principle, the Bible interpretation, we have things like the TS scale rule, the treasury of script knowledge, we have reading context, the grammatical rule, the literary rule, the honesty rule, the historical view or the historical lens and the Christocentric lens and the Christolettic lens, so many, so many hemenetics involved. So many practices, checking the Greek, checking the Hebrew, why do we check Greek, why do we check Hebrew, is this show off what is the aim of all those things. So before we get into all those thoughts, finding the discourse, finding the audience and all those things, which is very very important, we just start off with a simple one, it's not simple in the sense of it's trivial but we just give it an introduction and then subsequent teachings will expound greatly on it. So look at Acts chapter 7, what is the Google of the Bible? You have a Bible in your hand or in your phone, if you are using a hard copy, if you are using a soft copy, you have access to the Bible. Now what is the Bible? Some people call it basic instructions before leaving it, some people are fed to eat as a rule book, do's and don't, dasha not dashaals, but what does the Bible say, the Bible is? What is the goal of the Bible? What is the Bible's focus? So look at Acts chapter 6. Now I know I said, as chapter 7, but because of one of the rules, which is reading in context, reading in context. For example, if I just start chapter 7 and say, then the high priest said, "A distinct soul, it makes zero sense, so we need to act." So what is in context? Why are the access to the Bible if this thing is so? What are those things? I think, remember the three stages of the Bible comprehension, we have observation, we have interpretation, we have application. So if somebody does not observe that there is a non-going discourse, we cannot start from here, we cannot, we do not. Something like, "Oh, every plant, my Heavenly Father has not planted shabby removed, we cannot start from there." So we read the verses before, the verses below. Also, be in mind that the Bible had no verses, the Bible had no verses, the Bible had no chapters, chapterization and the verses, they are not an inspiration of God. We have written letters, informal letters in our time in school, nobody had chapters and verses to read. It is the same. It is what the same. Most of us have written essays, argumentative, narrative, descriptive, nobody had chapters and verses to read. So, how do we capture a discourse, the put it in paragraphs? I once had a Bible and I was going to buy the Bible again, it's an abridged version. So that Bible had no verses, had no chapters. So, you start from Isaiah, you don't know when is Isaiah 23, Isaiah 56, Isaiah 14, it's just like in novels. If you open Matthew, you can't see Matthew chapter 4, Matthew chapter 6, Matthew chapter 14. You can't use that Bible to see open to Matthew chapter 14, verse 18, it's not there, there's no verse, there's no chapter. And that's it. I had a Bible in 2018, it greatly shaped my understanding of the Bible, greatly shaped how I was able to see things in context. So, to understand the context, we need to go to Acts chapter 6 from verse 8, this is an Stephen. So, of course, we can't even start him because who is this Stephen? You are reading with the idea that you already know him. When we come to a Bible study, we need to ask how is this Stephen introduced? Let me give a very clear, clear, clear example. Look at Ephesians, Ephesians chapter, Ephesians chapter 5. Let me show you something clear and I know you get it. Ephesians chapter 5. From verse 1, I mean the first idea. Ephesians chapter 5 from verse 1. Alright, I mean the first idea. Okay. Alright, good stuff. Good stuff, good stuff, good stuff. Alright. So, Ephesians chapter 1 verses, sorry, Ephesians chapter 5 verse 1. It says, "DF4, be in the tentacles of God as their children." Now, that is, if you don't see that in a troublesome, then this is why you need this teaching. Because you cannot start a statement with "DF4." This is an ongoing discourse. So, based off on that, "DF4." The "DF4" is like a submission that, "Okay, giving this, this, this, and this, this is what should be done." So, "To understand, remember Paul never used chapter 5, chapter 4, chapter 3. He is writing a letter. He is writing a letter." Alright. So, now, "To understand chapter 4, I mean chapter 5, we need to go to chapter 4." Chapter 4 verse 1 says, "I, dear, for the prison of the Lord." How can he just meet somebody for the first time, and you're telling him, "You, dear, for as a prison of Christ, be seated." What were you saying that brought you to this point? "I, dear, for the Lord, so to understand chapter 4, we go to chapter 3." Chapter 3 verse 1 says, "For this reason, so Paul, you will say something. What was the reason?" Alright. What was the reason for which you are not saying, "For this reason, I, Paul, the prison of Christ Jesus for you, Jeentess." So, that means, "Oh, there's an ongoing discussion in chapter 2. Remember, remember, there was no chapter 2 when Paul was writing it." He was writing it to the church in Ephesus as a letter. So, let's go to chapter 3 verse 1. It says, "And you, him, made a life." "We will, dear, the trests, as is, and you, that seems off." Why are you talking about me, being made a life? I'm a life. I'm already living. So, why are you telling me that you, him, made a life? So, that means, there was something he said in chapter 1. So. Halt at kawarat, at kawarat, at kawarat, at kawarat, at kawarat. So, I take all of what I know in chapter 1, going to chapter 2. I take all of what I've known in chapter 1, chapter 2, going to chapter 3. I take all of what I've known in chapter 1, 2, 3, into chapter 4. I take all of what I know in chapter 1, 2, 3, 4 into 5. So, I now know why I'm told to be an imitator of my papar, God. But if I skipped chapter 4, skipped chapter 3, skipped chapter 2, skipped chapter 1, I will loss. Why is he telling me to imitate God as a dear child? On what basis is he telling me to walk in love as Christ also loves those and gives himself for us? He says, "Depth, so I need to know those things." Now, that's what the call contextual study. You never isolate a verse. You want to be good in our understanding, Bible? Never, ever read in verses. Never, ever reading chapters. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, never, never, never, never, don't do it, don't do it. Read in discourse. Read in context. Who said it? Who was it said too? All right, so who is the speaker? Who is the audience? So, I will go back to the adi, sit where the sat, hear what they had. Then I will come back to this present time, find appropriate words that can convey what I had and so, to this present audience. So, it's not a change of meaning. It is not a change of what you got from it. It is what words are best suited in this day and age. Azumidi phrase or the idiom, "Johnas kicked the bucket." That phrase kicked the bucket, which means to pass on, to go to the great beyond, to die. All right? Imagine we go to a place who is not familiar with that language. I say, "Ah, why is this person sad?" I say, "Ah, oh, more time." In front, just kicked the bucket. You see, "Eh?" So, why in the desert? Why is the desert? It's not just a bucket he kicked. The person needs somebody that understands what it means for the bucket to be kicked, to explain. That explanation is not changing the meaning of what was said. That explanation is clarifying in the person's language what was said when he read or had it. That's why you're not saying that, "Oh, you people, you people like changing the Bible. Leave the Bible the way it is. You cannot. The Bible was not written to you. It was written for you from the world view. From the world view, Moses did not think of me when he was writing Exodus. He did not even think of my grandfather's grandfather. So, if you stack my grandfather's, let's say all of them lived hundred years. It will not even get to Moses. Is that far? I mean, is that far? Moses' audience is the Israelite that had those come out of Egypt. I will need to know their audience, know the culture. And we will look at this when we get over to stranger bible tins. We do a series just to explore strange passages, weird passages in the bible. And this is one of the major things I would emphasize about. Let's give you in a nutshell. Right? So, there are the culture defines a language. Language does not define a culture. One word can mean many things in a language. In different languages. For example, my place, many ME and E is aunt. There is another place in the same locality that I stay in the same state. All of you use the same region because of the international audience. In the same region of we are still there is a language that many means king. Same spelling, same pronunciation, different meanings. So, gives meaning to language culture defines language, not language defining culture. So, to know a language, I first of all, not look at the language. I look at the culture behind the language. If I miss the culture, there will be a high chance of me missing the language. And words are communicated in languages, whereas sign language, spoken language, official expressions and gestures and all those things words. There is a language of communication, there is a weak information is communicated. I have lost anybody. Hope you are still with us. I am still with me. We are still together. So, moving on. Culture is very important. So, that is what you know. People say there is a cultural approach to God's word. The culture approach is not your own culture. No, sorry. That is not your culture. It is the culture of the Bible. The culture of the Bible is not a special stuff. The culture of the Bible just means that at the present time the Bible was written, what was the prevailing culture? Because the Bible is 100% God, 100% my land. We look at one of, we look at that thing, one of these days. Look at Matthew 15, Matthew 15, Matthew, I need those to be there so that we can see together. Matthew 15, Matthew 15, Matthew 15, Matthew 15. He says, "But Jesus answered and said, 'Every plant which my Heavenly Father has not planted will be upruted.' What did we see about Vesys? Do not read in Vesys. Do not read in chapters. Read in discourse. Read in context. If this verse makes sense to you on its own, this is why you need this teaching. Because how come we skipped Vesys 1 to Ves 12 and so did we invest it? What is going on? Matthew 15, Ves 1, then the scribes of the Pharisees, we were from the universal link into Jesus saying, "Why do you disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread?" He answered and said to them, "Why do you transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? What is in context? Traditions." Verse 4, "For God commanded sin, honor your Papa and your Mama, and He will cause his father and mother, he shall put to death." But you shall see, "Wherever says to his father and mother, what about the prophet who might have received from me, is a gift to God? That means instead of me giving to my parents, take it and give to God." Papa, my mother, forgive you what you see, I can't do good to God, walk. Right? Vesys, just as in then he need not honor his father or mother. So in order to say that it's not the way to honor your father and mother. But that's what they were doing. Then as a toss, you have made the commandment of God of new effect by your tradition so you cannot miss it. The context is about traditions. Traditions. 7, hypocrites. Well, the Isaiah's prophesy about you say, "These people drawn near to me with the mouth." "And honomi with their lips, but their heart is far from me." Look at it, "And in vain the worship me." Teaching as doctrine, the commandment of men, commandment of men equals to what traditions of men. By traditions, not native traditions, talking about the system of doing things, that tradition. Weasantine is not seen as a norm. Weasantine is a lot of function, or do traditions are not good, but it is amoral. It depends on the activity. Somebody might have the tradition of taking his wife out every month. For example, me and my wife, every month, we get each other a gift. It has nothing to do with bad things, has nothing to do with an adversary every month. We get each other a gift. That is our family tradition. Traditions are not bad. Traditions are not good, but the activity is what is judged. So these people's traditions, they were using it against the commandment of God. You were told to honor your father and mother. But then, instead of giving to their father and mother, they said, "Ahh, without a career, do God work." So, I make a new verse. It says, "Invene the worship me, teaching as doctrine." You see, your understanding of God will be seen in your worship. You cannot worship God beyond the scope of your understanding of God, beyond the scope of what you have been taught about God. It is very, very important. It says, "Invene the worship me, teaching as doctrine, the commandments of man, when he called the multitudes to himself." He said to them, "Yeh, I understand. Not what goes into the mouth, the fire's man, but what comes out of the mouth that the fire's man remember, how did they get to this eating? Inverse one, until the disciples were eating at the de-not-wash their hands. So, the traditions of man said they will be defied." Jesus is saying, "It is not what goes into the mouth of man, that the fire's in, but what comes out of the mouth, that the fire's man, now vestueth." Then, his disciples, to invest in, he calls the multitude, "the bones, the fire is his clean." Inverse 12, the disciples came to him and said, "Do you know that the fire's sees, we offended when they had dissafe? Why fire's sees? The fire's sees made Jesus, your people, that trespassing, your people, are going against the traditions of the elders. They are not washing their hands, if they eat, they will be defied." Jesus says, "It is not what goes into the mouth of man." Jesus says to the dhasi, "When they talk about the traditions of man, your own traditions, the new contract, tick-ting, God's law, he brought to the context of, "Oh, honor your father, honor your mother." Then, he answered, "As it is not because of you, because of people like you, that is what Isaiah said." He went on to read from Isaiah, he was 14 Isaiah, 29, vestuething. So, this is citation of purposes. The importance of verses and chapters is for citation of purposes, not for doctrinal, I mean, sorry, not for grasping the truths on the standing God's word. Vases, it plead no rule on the standing God's word. In fact, if not for any, the verses will hinder how the understanders will sue. Vases are important, chapters are important when it comes to referencing. When it comes to citation, when it comes to quotations, those are the things that make it easy. We can easily reference Matthew 4, verse 4, which is what was mentioned by Brother Loan. So, if you observe the way the apostles wrote, they will tell you, "As the scripture said, it was written." So, you have to read Genesis to Malachi to know where it was written. But now there are chapters, verses, and this while teaching, we can tell you, "Look at chapter 12." "Look at verse 14." "Let us start from verse 6." Because of citation, referencing, teaching, and quotations. There are many things to understand in the God's word, do a way with verses read in context. And you will not see how this famous, every flag, my phrase, not flag, in me, will be a prudent. How easy it is, what it actually meant, because in verse 12, the disciples came and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this, and Jesus answered and said, 'Every plant with my heavily father has not planted with me, who did op?' Don't stop, continue, continue." He says, "Let them alone, they are blind leaders of the blind, and if the blind is the blind, but we fall into the ditch." The Peter answered and said to him, "Explain this parable to us," he said, "Are you also still without understanding? Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mount goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mount, come from the heart and they defy the man for the up, for out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adultery, sonication, test, false witness, blasphemies, these are the things which the filial man put to eat, with all washed hands does not the filial man. So what is the plant, which my heavily father has not planted, we'll put the wrong doctrine, traditions of men, has nothing to do with witchcraft, has nothing to do with foundational spirit, has nothing to do with elemental powers." Excessive is elemental powers, positive or doctored. All right? Aha. So, every plant, my father's word planted, let it be of predict in context what does it mean? In context what does it mean? So observation, we have observed who is a context. What's the context about? What are the speakers? So we have the Pharisees, we have Jesus, we have the disciples, we have the audience, we consider the key players, we consider the audience, we consider what was said. Then we look at the context, we throw it away, all we have known about it, and look at the context, look at the speakers, look at the emphasis, you cannot read chapter 15 from verse 120, and miss out on key words like traditions. Remember observation, interpretation, application soup, we have observed, we have interpreted. The application may differ in our own type. It could be in terms of wrong doctrine. Now, it can even be in terms of, oh, things that are not working well for me, oh, my father will remove it, now we know what it means in principle. We know what it means in principle that, oh, God has the ability to remove things that are contrary to His plan. That is what we can use as an application. But to say that was what the demand is wrong. Let me show you another one quickly, before I get back to chapter 7. Look at verse Peter chapter 2. Verse Peter, verse Peter, verse Peter, verse Peter chapter 2. And I read from verse 24, he says, "Woo, Himself, bore our sins in His own body on the tree." Now we have indicted sins, my leave for righteousness, by whose stripes you are healed. It makes sense, or doesn't make sense, depending on how you see it. Remember, we don't use verses. We use context. We use context. We use context. Verse 17, "Simple that chapter 2 is his honor of people. Love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king, servants, be submissive to your master's door, fear." Not only to the good, but also to the harsh, it is commendable. If because of conscience towards God, one and just grief, suffering will wrongfully. For what credit is it, if when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently. But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For to this, you are called because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, we should follow Christ also suffered for us. Leaving us an example, that we should follow, is it, who committed no sin? So who is the who, the content of sin? Christ that suffered for us, and in his suffering left an example for us. All right? Is it, who committed no sin? No was the seed found in his mind. "Wu?" So, look at it to observation, interpretation, application. 21. For the deeds you were called. Alright? For the deeds you were called Christ also suffered for us. How did he suffer? See in the back food? No. The suffering is in connection to his sacrifice. Yeah, him taking away our sins. So, the context of sacrifice is introduced. Alright? Is introduced in verse 21. Verse 22, "He committed no sin. No was deceit." Yeah? "Iniquity found in him." So, iniquity, sin, sacrifice. It is "Wu" when he was revived, did not revive in return. When he suffered, look at that sacrifice context again, he did not threaten but committed himself to him. "Wu" George is right closely. "Wu?" Him says, "So he is still poking about the example Christ sets for us." "In that he suffered, the suffering is equal to the sacrifice." So, he says, "Wu himself bore our sins in his own body." "His bore our sin, not sickness, not sickness, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin." That we, having died to sin, see you cannot miss the key words. Remember observation, that we take out an application. You we see this often and often and often and often and often. You cannot miss it. It is about sin, sin, sin. That we, having died to sin, my life or righteousness, by whose stripes you were hid, it looks like sickness. Don't stop. Don't read in verses, reading context. It is for you we are like sheep, going astray. Oh, but now we have returned to the shepherd and overseer of our soul. Yeah, shepherd and overseer of our soul. Now, sin in this context is what was healed. Why? Because in Isaiah's prophecy in Isaiah 53, he uses sin to paint an immigrant sickness. Man is sick. He has a sin nature. He needs to be healed. He needs to get the medicine. He needs to get the drugs. Yeah, remember talk about the gospel as an announcement. He needs to get what can all gym of his sins. He needs to receive that drip to cleanse his blood and using health imagery to those who buttress the point. Man is sick. He needs healing. What healing will he need a sacrifice of Jesus? So on account of the sacrifice of Jesus, our sins we are hid. By whose stripes we were hid. It is not necessarily talking about sickness. It is talking about sin. That is the interpretation. That is what Peter was talking about. Because he will continue to say we were like sheep. We were going astray. But now we have returned. That cannot be the imagery of a sick person. Remember the parable of Jesus, the 99 sheep one was lost. So he went to find another another. So is that saying in the honor we have returned back to our Lord. We have returned back to the Savior of our souls. That can be sickness, physical sickness. Physical sickness don't touch the soul. In this quote, I'm using the word so loosely. Not in reference to the being of a man, but those who is need to lose the ear. So by application we can still use this verse or no more sickness. However, what Peter was communicating was non-natural sickness, not headache, no malaria, no whistping, not typhot. Man is sick. He has a disease. Humanity on a grand scale is sick. They need cleansing. Christ's blood will wash them clean. Of course, the life of a thinnest and his bloods where he had a blood of Christ is not liquid. It's not hemoglobin. We have doctors on this medical people, healthcare people in this meeting. They will tell you that the average pint of blood in a month cannot be shed for over 2000 years. And if the blood of Jesus was liquid, even the Romans that were beating him and the blood were talking to the atroof physical blood was touching them. When they were nailing him, the blood didn't even get them sick. It's not the hemoglobin. It can't be. It's not only once a year I'm cleaning the blood of Jesus and your mind is in a big busy using your hand to sprinkle around. No, no, no, no, no. The blood of a thinnest in the life. I'm sorry, the life of a thinnest in the blood. All right. So I'll give you some basic rules to talk about biprointerpretation, bimrointerpretation. So now beyond all of these, what day is the goal of the Bible? Because if I don't know the goal of the Bible, I'll be reading in context that I will not even be able to properly grasp. What is the goal of the Bible acts chapter seven? Why ask chapter seven? Because ask for seven is a masterpiece. So to understand chapter seven, we cannot, the high priest said at this point, we don't know what was there. So ask chapter eight says, so as of the six, he says, and Stephen full of faith and power, the great waters and science among the people. Then there are rules, some men, what from what is called the synagogue of the freed men, Syrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Celicia and Asia, disputing with Stephen, and they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke. Then they secretly did what it just meant to say we have heard him speak blasphemous words against musists and God. So they were saying lie and the state of the people, the elders and the scribes, they came upon it, seized the man brought him to the council. They also set up false witnesses who said this man, with the man stealing does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place as the temple. And the Lord remember the Lord was what the had the genesis to Malachi was the Bible Jesus used was the Bible Paul used. Paul did not use the book of Ephesians to tick anybody, to read one of the, he is writing to every history you see. Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians, yeah, Thessalonians, Hebrews, Fez Peter, Fez John, they were written in the absence of the speaker. So for example, I come to a place, let's say the place is place A, I come to place A, teach the gospel, raise people, give them up. Then I go back to my own country, then from time to time I send letters to place A, the letters are being sent to remind them of what was taught, posted in Ephesians from modern E.U. It cannot be chata, why to chata, see his teaching them and they are meeting every day. It can be, in some places in the book of Adore in our next class, I'll show you all this news. Two years is with people daily in the temple, they are teaching, it can be 16 chapters in current, it can be ordinary, this more discipleship class that you are doing is more than if you are compiling verses, is more than some books. And he's just one hour, two times a week, now imagine every day in two years, it can be Philippians 4, 4, 4 chapters, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. So the scriptural they had, let me show you something because I ordered to rush, but I just remembered my law and all rushing in here. Very well finished, finished will continue. Second, second John chapter one, yeah, just one chapter. So second John, this, this one, this is the elder that's John to who, to the elect lady and her children. So who is John writing to an elect lady, only her know her children also. "I love the truth, not only me, but also others who know the truth." Then he goes on to write, write, write, write, write, write, write, write, write, write. "Tee vest 12." He says, "Have it made me think to write to you? I did not wish to do so with paper and ink." "But I hope to come to you as peak face to face that I will join me before." The letters written were written in the absence of the recipient. "If there are there, there is no need of writing letters to them." 快 develop a Gid o e Gid o Satan Lave compliments le dh (i remember love in the truth) I have many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pain and ink, but I hope to see you shortly and we shall speak face to face. You get a point? No, you don't get a point. Romans chapter 1. You will realize some team about the epistus. Romans chapter 1. Verse 1 says Paul, "Ibond someone to Jesus Christ called to be up, called and opposed to a safety to the gospel of God." You know, as I was studying this whole discipleship plus, the gospel as an announcement. So, he is writing, the epistemic says to all who are in the room, "Beloved of God, called saints, grace to you, peace from God, the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ." Verse 8, "I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken throughout the whole world. For God is my witness, boy, I love this verse, I love the construction of the worlds." Verse 8 says, "For God is my witness, who am I served with my spirit?" Oh God, God, God, God. This is Jesus Christ. This is a verse that when you read, it just makes you think like Paul. How did you coin these worlds? Verse 8 says, "For God is my witness, who am I served with my spirit in the gospel of his soul?" And how do we serve God with our spirit in the gospel of his soul? Our life's effort is in the gospel of his soul. Now, that season, I make mention of you always in my prayer. Make a request if, by some means, now, at last, I may find a way in the will of God to come to you, Paul. Do you visit people you already stay with? No. So because you are not there, you wish to visit verse 11 for I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gifts so that you may be established. You cannot long to see people you stay with. Paul was where he was in his missionary journey. Sometimes as a prisoner, sometimes doing missions, then he's writing back to the. So, these cryptos, they had, they did not have faith, Peter, second Peter, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. They had those cryptos, Genesis, who, Mahlakai, at 17 verse 1. Now, when they had passed through Ampefullulis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews, then Paul, as his cousin was, went into them. And for three sabbath days, resumed with them from Timothy, do, from Revelation, no. Oh, oh, oh, oh, I get it, I get it. Paul spoke to them from James, no. But John, no. What of Paul's own Philippians? No. He resumed with them from the scriptures. He resumed with them from the scriptures, from the scriptures. Look at Acts chapter 28. Oh, glory to God. Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory. All right. Acts chapter 38. Oh, man. Okay. When you know these things, you will know that there's a lot of immediate application that's. Look at Acts 28. Acts 28. Verse is to elementary. So when they are appointed in a day, many came to Paul. That's the hymn. In Acts chapter 1, I'm dropping to the middle of it. Look at how just they were worried some of us because we don't know what it is talking about. Why? We let from verse 1, and we dropped into verse 23. So we didn't know the context. Yeah. So see why context just told us important. All right. So 23. So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging. The moon he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them. No, I beg you, perate. Passuating them consigning Jesus from both the law of Moses. Wow. The Moses speak about Jesus. Look said Paul was persuading them consigning Jesus from the law of Moses and the prophets. Oh my God. From morning until evening, Paul was using Genesis to Malachi to talk about Jesus. If I pomade this staggering statement in Acts 26 verse 22, where he said, "Therefore, having obtained help from God to this day, I stand withness in both to small and great, and they know all that things than those wish the prophets and Moses said will come. That Christ will suffer. And I will be the first to rise from the dead." Boy, I remember 2021. The day I saw this verse, I said, "It's a lie." Paul is saying, "Only saying is exactly what Moses said. It's exactly what the prophets said." So, if we ask Michael, Michael, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come. What are you talking about? If we take away the poet, the our prophetic imagery, and dense poetry, it will arrive at this point. The Christ would suffer. He would be the first to rise from the dead, talking about resurrection. Not just being raised back to life, because all those people did died. The one he liked, he read, he liked, he read, he read, "Jairos, daughter, Lazarus, the odd died." Yeah. But being raised, the first to be raised from the dead is talking about dead having no more power over the man. Dead having no more power over the being. This Christ would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. Christ, prophet, Moses. Look at John chapter 1. John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, the book of John chapter 1. And I will read from verses 44. Now, oh, God, now Philip was on Bethesda. Sorry, Bethesda, the city of Andruan Peter, Philip found Natania and said to him, "We have found him of Moses in the law, and also the prophets did write Jesus of Nazareth." Come. Philip, can you be serious here? Can you show me from Genesis to the chronony where Moses wrote a verse? There is no mention of Jesus or Christ in Moses writing. So what's going on? Is either the line or we are not seeing it well? What am I doing introducing you to the goal of the Bible? We are not even close to being there, because we are not even finished with a chapter 6, the last chapter 7. Jesus in John chapter 5, verse 99 said, "Seach the scriptures." Not Philip, not Galician, not Romans, not Galician, not Revelation. There was no Revelation in the answer. WIN the Recipient Jisos was making this statement. It is such descriptions. For in them you think you have eternal life. But these are the days that testify of me. What? Esther? Neymar. Can you boldly say you testify about Jisos? Jisos said the testify of me. Everywhere, not everywhere. In some places, yes. Can we find it? Yes. But was the good old Bible? Hold on. We are still on a journey. I'm trying to establish that the Bible they had, the Bible they used, was Genesis to Malachi. Look at Luke 24. Luke 24, 20, 25. Then Jisos said to them, look at how contextual studies are. What is the day? Is it the disciples? Is it Mary Madalini? Who is the day? So you see why I never read in verses. Reading context. The context starts in the state now. Behold two of them. We are traveling that same day to a village called Amayos. Which was seven months from Jerusalem and they talked together. Of all the things which has happened. So it was worthy, conversed and reasoned that Jesus himself, Jr. and went with them. What did them two men traveling to Amayos? Not the twelve disciples. It's so easy to read verse 25 and which is then Jisos said to them. And think it is the disciples, but it's not the disciples. They are two men to the root of Amayos. So Jisos said to them, "O fools, slow of hearts to believe, all that a prophet has said, ought not Christ to have so far these things and to eat them into his glory, and beginning at Moses." Eh? Is that true? Beginning at Moses? All the prophets? He expanded to them in all the scriptures. The things consensus will not everywhere was consigning Christ. But they were things consigning Christ in all the scripture, look at it, Jesus. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, minor, major, all the prophets. He expanded to them in all the scriptures, not so, not meaning, not most, in all. If I take the book of Zachariah, can I see things consigning Christ? If I take the book of Huzia, connect see things consigning Christ, what is Christ's valuation on all those books that there are things consigning me everywhere? No. They were things written to reveal the hardness of man's heart. They were things written for our Lenny. They were things written to show about the sufferings of Christ and the glory to follow. If I don't understand this, I hope you read in the Bible and are thinking it's a rule book. Remember, we are not even reached the good of the Bible. Why do we have a Bible? We are not even reached that point. I think it's on Thursday that we'll do that. Yeah, in the next class, that's what we'll do that. And that is the reason because teaching is a principle of a principle, lying upon a line, nor rushing, we are building. Right? We are building. Look at verse 44. And he said to them, "Now this damn is not those two men." This damn is the disciples. See why contextual studies are important. How do you know? Now, if you look at verse 36, so now, after Jesus explained the scriptures to them, Jesus went in with them to eat. When Jesus said the prayer, the Bible said Jesus vanished from their eyes. So those men remember those people, if you look at the verse 13, where they were going, it was seven miles from Jerusalem. After Jesus vanished from their sight, the Bible said that this man be ran back to Jerusalem to go and report what happened. All right? So now, invested four, they said the Lord is reasoning it, and as a peer to Simon. Yeah? So 35, and they told about the things which had happened on the road, and it was known to them in the breaking of the breast. So remember, invested three, so the roots of that dirty hour are reponed to Jerusalem, and found the 11, and those who were with them, gathered together. This is the lesson in the Lord is reasoning. He appeared with us, see what he says, what he says, this, this, this, this, this. Now, as they said, these things, these are himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, "Is to you." So now, the two men, plus the 11, is the teaching. So this is the damn that is invested 44, or these are the damn that are invested 44. Then he said to them, "So what text is very critical? You cannot be a good Bible student. I'm not even talking about being a Bible teacher, that is not the emphasis of the nice class." Talking about a student, a student of the world will be a teacher of the world. You don't study to teach, you teach from what you have studied. If a chef will not eat, he will die of hunger. All right? 44, then he said to them, "These are the words which I speak to you while I was with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which are written in the Lord of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms consigning me, wow, look at the scope. Look at the scope, all the things, all things must be fulfilled, which we are written in the Lord of Moses, in the prophets, in the Psalms. So daily the root of Christ in the Psalms. Every place, no. I know I'm doing this, every place, no. It's intentional. Right? It's intentional. I will explain it in our next class. So there are things consigning Christ. Not everything is consigning Christ, but when King is killing a bear, or when Gideon Suja is drinking water, the water is not symbolizing Christ. I know some people want to stretch it, no, no, no, no. I can say, look at it in the next class. All right? So there are things consigning Christ in the Lord. So back to Acts. Look at how we traveled. Just establish us. Now that is another principle in verse, the court, T.S.K. rule. So if we can on Thursday, we'll talk about the goal of the Bible, or we'll continue the goal of the Bible, and then the T.S.K. rule. And the T.S.K. rule is so beautiful. We'll do a lot of examples. I think in the contextual study, we did like two examples or so. We did more because as we are opening the scriptures, we are also explaining the use of those contexts. So in Acts 6, all right, we'll start this one in the next class. Where they said, you are speaking against the holy place and the Lord and the Lord. What Lord? Genesis 14. It says, "For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us." Bro, the custom Moses delivered to you was actually in some parts of it talking about Christ. But they didn't see it. Why? They didn't understand the goal of the law. They didn't understand the purpose of the law. When the tabernacle was dedicated, when the temple was dedicated, the glory of the Lord filled the temple. How do you see in the Bible? How do you see in verse 48 of chapter 7 that the most high does not dwell in temples made with hands? So who is in the accord, the Converanth? Whose persons gluedly filled the temple? The Bible said it was God, and it was God, but it was God telegraphing something. It was God pointing to something. In fact, the Bible caused the tabernacle, a tabernacle of weakness. Means it is a weakness to something. So God instructed Moses exactly the way you saw the tabernacle, who eat like that? Because it was not the end of itself. It was pointing to something. But for over 1,500 years, they missed the point. They missed the big deal. There was a fool, there was an intent. There was an aim. George Joshua, Fessler, Ezra, Nimae, Esther, Yahee, guys, Ngaon, Jonah, there is a reason why it was written. There is a good behind the Bible, not just a. 'Wa zikodna' 'Onu tuza' 'Donz' 'Ru' 'No, no, no, no, there's an aim.' 'There's an intentional design why the Bible was written.' 'Why have we got me to his pahiyah man to write the Bible?' 'What's the big deal?' 'Because there's an intent.' 'There's a plan.' 'There's God's mission.' 'Itana plans and purposes that he wants to achieve.' 'So it is written down.' 'So like what you do, Habakkuk, the vision is clear.' 'I think let's end the one with the contextual study.' 'Look at Habakkuk chapter 2.' 'That would be a good place to end contextual study.' 'For this particular class, Habakkuk, Habba, Habba, Habba.' 'Abba, which is the Hathith, Abba, which is the good.' 'Abba, Puputi, the good, Bishraba, which is the good.' Alright, so Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 1. Now, if you're starting from 2 verse 1, I guarantee you you will just miss out on what you say. Because in chapter 1, he's talking about, 'Okay, let's look at chapter 2 verse 1 and look if this makes sense.' 'I will stand my watch and set myself on a ramparts.' 'I will watch to see what he will see to me and what I will answer when I'm corrected.' 'So Habakkuk was expecting God to respond to him.' 'Is that no strange?' 'Hath a new respond to someone that you're not talking to?' 'Oh, so there's chapter 1.' Alright, so to understand chapter 2, I get to chapter 1. Alright, so what is Habakkuk's question to God? 'In this one, the body in which Prophet Habakkuk saw all Lord, how long shall I cry?' 'And you will not hear, even cry out to you, violence and you will not see.' 'Why do you show me integrity?' 'And hold me to seat, trouble for plundering and violence are before me.' 'The strive and contention arises, therefore the law is powerless.' 'And justice never goes for the wicked, so round the righteous.' 'Defor, perverse judgment proceeds, look, among the nations and watch, be it all your standards.' 'Well, I will walk you walking your days which would not be lead, do it, we are told.' 'For indeed I'm raising all the child in a bit of his signature, which much is down the bread of the earth.' 'Abakkuk was fainting, God within the haphuna, why did we get the in-run, why did we get your press?' 'We think they saw, they don't guide every year, since they saw it.' 'Stuck in about the child's hands, oh, invest it, they are coming with their horses, their horses are suited and looked but their horses are more fierce than those who would the charge ahead.' 'Ves 90, come for violence, 10, this Kofa Kings, princes are scorned by them, they deride every strongwood for the hippo-18 months and season 10 is my changes and its transgressions.' 'The commissar fence ascribing his power to his God, the ark God, Israel left you, so what are God, so what are the nations came to attack?' 'Yeah, no, the things are not equal to the hand, now I beg your pardon, these people that are attacking us, if you were here with us they would not have done it.' 'Now the anast, writing the victory to a deity, to a false God, meanwhile if you were here you would have protected us, yes, you are not here because General Israel owed the foe so you know what the thing is too much, the thing is too much.' 'Pest 12, I will not from the valastin, no Lord my God, my Holy One, we shall not die, O Lord you have a 20 then for judgment, O Rock, you have marked them for correction, you are of pure eyes, down to be who they will so who said it, how about we see in our God?' 'Your eye clean, it looks disgusting, so it is a month's estimation of God, your pure eyes down to be what even uncannotically weakness, why do you look on those who do treacherously?' 'Like God, now this thing will never make sense, come, come, come, come help us, come help us, then that too, I will stand my watch, I will set myself on the rampant, and I will wash to see what you say to me.' 'And what I will answer when I am corrected, then the Lord answered me and said, so since how about the talk?' '90s, yeah, God, she, you know God talk, idea, you must talk to, then God answer right to vision, make it plain on tablets that he may wrong would reach it, 'The vision, not a vision, not your vision, that's not to do your business, that's not to do your goals, that's not to do your family, the vision is yet for an appointed time, so the time for my saving power to be on view is not now, there will be a time for the incandescent, there will be a time where I will become a man and save people, and all those who look to me will be redeemed, the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, it will not lie, though it carries, wait for it, because it will surely come to pass, it will not carry, behold the proud.' 'His soul is not operating him, but the ghost shall live by faith, boy, this phrase, the ghost shall live by faith, is in Hebrews, is in Galician, is in Romans, 'The vision, that was for an appointed time, materialized, God came as a man, in sacrifice he has disarmed the powers of darkness, legally, what vision, the vision of God's saving power, if we don't read, ask Habakkuk to the four, and Habakkuk to the three, if we don't read, just for the time, I know you have read those messages for, 'oh, blah, writing is done now, by application we can say, 'oh, when things are written, clady, is better, is wholesome, we can walk with each, we can be reminded, if we go off track, we can come back to the blueprint, fine, we get that, we get what that means, but don't say that is what Habakkuk was talking about, because Habakkuk has no idea of your business. 18; melantujana contestant, "I am a defense-less, but nobody nations are plundering it. God, where will you come with your saving power?" God answers the vision is yet for an appointed time. Do it, Arise, wait for it. It will surely come to pass. In this context, both by application, "Oh, just starting a business, you are going to school, or you can write what you want to do, write it." It is so that, just like the principle, remember, we are using the application because of the principle behind it. If you write it clearly, we can run with it, so your goals, your ambitions, your purpose, you can write it clearly so that you can run with it. We get that, but that is for application because of the principle it has. But what about Google talking about is an entirely different. That's why Paul can use it in Romans. He can use it in Galicians. You write all Hebrews can use it in the book of Hebrews. So, contextual study is very, very, very, very, very good, very, very legit. When we get in a next class, we look at how to make sense of the Bible. What is the good of that Bible I had in my hand? After this teaching, you will look at this Bible, your Bible, and you will have a good routine about it. You will begin to fall in love with the game of the Bible. If I had a contextual study for some of us now, is making us appreciate the Bible more. you can act better. Praise God. Praise God forever more.
