The sermon uses the Old Testament tabernacle as a spiritual model to illustrate the Christian journey of drawing near to God. It emphasizes that Christ is the only gate into God’s presence, and salvation is not just a one-time event but a lifelong process of sanctification—being made like Him. Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross is presented as the ultimate atonement, removing sin and enabling believers to enter God’s presence. The message stresses that true faith involves a personal decision to place one’s life on the altar, denying self and embracing Christ’s will. Believers must continually repent, allowing God to cleanse their hands and feet through the Word, to remain in holiness. The church is not merely a place of ritual but a community of real relationship with Christ, where participation in communion reflects unity with Him. The sermon calls listeners to respond boldly by placing their trust in Jesus, recognizing their need for a Savior and their ongoing journey toward deeper intimacy with God. This journey leads to fullness of joy, as found in God’s presence—where no matter life’s struggles, the spirit grows and true peace is experienced. The message concludes with a call to action, urging believers to step into this life of faith, obedience, and continual growth in Christ.

Welcome to the podcast with the Way Church in Adelaide, South Australia.
You know, we've really emphasized the name of Jesus this morning, which we should do every morning,
like everything that we have, everything that we are, everything that, you know, he's wanting
to do in us and through us is, it is all about him. It is all about making much of the name of
Jesus. And, you know, we read that scripture, it's like there's no other name in which one could be
saved. And so, you know, this morning, what I want to do is that, like, I'm going to offer it off
an opportunity to you guys. Like, if you, if you're in this room and you want to put your trust in him
for, for whatever, for healing, for salvation, for your life, for your family, whatever, just raise
your hand. Raise your hand and say, I'm going to put my trust in him. Okay? Just as we're preaching,
I just, you know, just respond to what God's saying in your heart, right? He's speaking this morning.
There's opportunity here. I believe that he wants to make himself known in this place in a great
way. I believe that there's people in this place that don't know him at all. And I believe that
he's reaching deep into your hearts and he's saying, I want you to know me. And it's going to take
a response and it's going to retake a, a racing of your hand and just going, I want you Lord. I'm
responding Jesus, the name of Jesus, whatever that means for me, Jesus, I respond and I'm going to
say with my mouth, the name of Jesus. Is that okay? So, if you're in this place and you want to do that,
if you want to stand up, if you want to scream his name, you can do that, guys. Like, just allow,
allow the Holy Spirit to do whatever he's wanting to do. And I'm going to try and do that as I
work through some of these notes because I'm very aware that some of the stuff that he's in these
notes is not for this morning. I'm just going to try and hear him and I'm going to try and do what
it is that he's leading me to do. Is that okay? All right. So Daniel did a great job last week just
talking about our identity in him. And there's a stirring in this place about the identity that we
have in Christ and what that means. It's a big deal. You know, out in the world, people identify
with certain things. So, you're either, there's sort of two groups. It's like those that identify in
Christ, like as Christians and then there's everyone else. And it's like people find their
identity in so many other things. People can find their identities in what they do, in the things
they possess, in what people say about them. People find their identities in a lot of different things.
And we need to be a people that find our identity in him alone, that the words that he speaks to us
is what matters. And that's how we get free because it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you.
It doesn't matter like what's going on in your life because he is our rock and we build our life
upon him. Okay? And so this morning we are going to be looking at the tabernacle. We sort of unpack
this a little a few weeks ago. We're going to look at this a bit closer this morning. And so if we
can put up that slide, do you got that slide there? The big one, the big slide. So this is the big slide.
This is the tabernacle. So there are a lot of different elements here. We're going to work through
some of this. Basically where we're going to be this morning is like here. And so let me just
make the point of just saying that the tabernacle is all about God's presence. It's all about God's
presence. It's like God put his name here. His presence was here and it was it was a gated
community. It was like you had to come through the gate to come into God's presence. Okay? And that
is the same thing for us today because all of these all of this is an Old Testament understanding
and this is an Old Testament picture. But all of these things apply to us today in the New Testament.
And so as Dudley says often and you've heard we would have heard me say you need to look
at the Old Testament through the New Testament lens to understand how we apply this to us today.
All right. So you can maybe just put up that second slide because this is sort of where we're
going to be here. We've just zoomed in here. This is where we are today. Okay? So the first thing
this is like the entrance point, right? This is the East Gate. And so when we enter in through that
gate, when we receive Christ because that's that's the entrance into God's presence is through Christ.
You know Christ, Jesus says that he is the gate. Like he is the door. He says I am the door. I am the
way to the Father. He says I am the way the truth and the life. So this is the gate is representing
Christ. Can I let me just give you a spoiler. All of this is representing Christ. Okay? But it's it
it helps us to understand how to walk and how to understand the Scripture. Okay? But he is the
gate and it's through him that we enter in. But we're entering in again into his presence. Okay? His
presence is through the gate. And salvation is it's how you know Jesus said that no one comes to
the Father through me. So salvation is coming into God's presence and that's salvation. Like we've
been reconnected with the Father through Jesus Christ and through salvation. So we're we come into
his presence. But there's a there's a level that there's a there's a walk called sanctification
in the Scripture. And sanctification leads you closer into God's presence because you become
more like him. You know it's not about working your way to be closer to Jesus or to be closer to God.
It's not like I do good and then he's like all right you can come a bit closer. Oh you've done
a little bit better now you can come closer. It's actually just about being like him. Like I'm
able to be close to him because I'm like him. Do you see the things that separate me from God
are the things that are not like him. And so sanctification is this process of working out all of
the stuff that's not like God so that I can be as close to him as I possibly could. That's the
hope of the gospel because the gospel isn't just about getting saved. The gospel and applying
the gospel to your life is about sanctification to becoming like him. So the gospel is the power to
save and the gospel is the power to transform us to be like Jesus. Isn't that good? Amazing. And so
you know we mentioned that Justin said Peter come up here and do your priestly duty. Okay so the
only ones that were allowed in here the only ones that were even allowed through the gate were the
priests. Okay God called the priest to minister in his tabernacle. And so in the we find a look
at that now with a new covenant lens who were the priests? We are the priests the sons and daughters
of the king. Well we are the royal priesthood it says. And so we have the right to come in through
this gate because we are a priesthood. Okay and no one else gets their enter in only the priests get
to come and minister to the Lord. That's pretty amazing isn't it? So we get to come and be ministers
in the new covenant where a royal priesthood. And again just with this gate if you remember I spoke
about this the other week it was just like in the garden of Eden when they were told to leave the
garden because of sin because of ungodliness they ended up being far away from God they had to
leave through the east gate of the garden. And so this is like God recreating his presence again
or at least not recreating but showing us that his presence has to come through back the way
that we came through the gate, through the east gate. It's really interesting that it's positioned
in the same orientation isn't it? And so in the garden of Eden when they were told to leave that
God put cherubim to guard this gate and there was a flaming sword that guarded the gate. So no one's
coming back in unless you went through the flaming sword somehow okay. It's interesting isn't it
because of sword kills right? A sword kills and what does fire do in the scripture? It burns
it cleanses right? So if you're coming back into the garden you're going to have to die and you're
going to have to be cleansed. Isn't it interesting? Because that's exactly what Jesus has done for us.
And so let's have a look at this bronze altar let's maybe go back to that last there we go. So the
bronze altar this is where they would the priests would sacrifice the animals and they would burn
the sacrifice on this altar here okay. So that's like the first thing that you walk through the
gate and you hit with this altar. So you need a sacrifice and if you're if you're to continue to
move any further to into God's presence into the holiest of holies a sacrifice is required.
It's it's the priest would kill a sacrifice an animal a perfect spotless animal. It was the death
of the innocent for the guilty. That's the picture here. So that's the old covenant obviously
obviously remove the obviously the New Testament lens
is that Jesus was this sacrifice.
He was the Lamb of God.
John 129, it says that,
this is John, he sees Jesus and he says,
the next day John saw Jesus coming towards him
and he said, "Behold, the Lamb of God
who takes away the sins of the world."
So Jesus now is the sacrifice
that was put on the altar,
that the sins could be removed.
Because there's no sin in the Holy House.
There's no sin if you want to draw close to God,
sin's not coming with you, right?
So it's like, has to be that the sacrifice
has to be made.
And this is Jesus, this is what Jesus has done.
Jesus was the sacrifice for you and I
that we could continue on into God's presence.
He died on the cross.
So this altar represents the cross.
This is where Jesus laid down his life for you and I
on the cross.
He sacrificed his life willingly for all of us in this room
and everyone out there that we could know God
and come into his presence.
Our sin had to be dealt with,
the thing that was separating us from God, okay?
So he died on the cross.
Now, so he died with the sword,
I wasn't sure if I was going to say this,
but he died on the cross,
but he also went down into Hades, right?
And so that's where this fiery place, right?
So it's just like Jesus entered through the gate
and he sacrificed and in the fire,
I didn't need to be cleansed,
but he took our sins with him, right?
And he rose again from hell,
'cause death couldn't hold him, right?
Wasn't death can hold you and I?
If we go to hell in our sin, death can hold you.
It won't release you.
The only way that you can be released
is because Jesus went down there
and he was pure and holy and it couldn't hold him,
death couldn't hold him, so he rose again.
So he came back to life, right?
And that's why we put our trust in him
because I can't bring myself out of what I deserve.
Jesus paid the price so that I could come out.
Isn't that amazing?
This is the gospel guys.
This is why we need Jesus because otherwise,
our life, eternity is gonna be there.
But Jesus paid the price.
Amazing, thank you Lord.
He's an amazing God, isn't he?
Praise Jesus.
My gosh, that was where I would have ended up
if it wasn't for him.
But he saved me.
And so the altar is where Christ dies.
But can I say that this altar, you know, for me,
for me a believer, for me a Christian,
for me a follower of Jesus,
if I'm gonna get to the holy place where his presence is,
if I can get as close as I can to him,
I'm gonna have to put myself on this altar, right?
Let's think about that for a minute.
Let's look at what the Scripture says.
Okay, so Romans six, verse six,
'cause this is what the Scripture teaches us guys.
It says knowing this that our old man was crucified with him,
that the body of sin might be done away with,
that we should no longer be slaves to sin.
That says to me that I died with him on the cross,
that means that I have to put myself on that altar.
And we do.
Okay, Galatians 220, let's just read a couple more.
Galatians 220, it says,
I've been crucified with Christ.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.
And the life which I now live in the flesh,
the life that I have, I live by faith in the Son of God
who loved me and gave himself for me.
That means that because he died for me,
I'm gonna put my life, can I have that clip again please?
I'm gonna put my life on the altar,
and I'm gonna sacrifice everything to lift for him
because he died for me.
Does that make sense?
So we have to willingly do that
because he doesn't force us to put our life on the altar.
That is a choice that we make to follow Jesus, okay?
'Cause Jesus went first.
If I'm gonna follow someone, they have to go before me.
Jesus went before you.
Jesus put his life on the altar.
I wanna put my life on the altar.
One more, Galatians 5, 24.
Just in case you're still unsure, okay?
Galatians 5, 24.
It says, "And those who are Christ
have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
That means that the desires that I had
before Christ came into my heart,
I've put those things that I've put my own desires
and my own passions to death
and replace those with his desires for me.
Okay, so I've taken up his will for my life
and I've laid down my own will for my life
and put it on the altar.
Isn't that cool?
It's amazing.
All right.
So Christ died for us, for our salvation.
He paid the price that we couldn't afford to pay.
It was no point me, if Jesus hadn't have done this first,
no point me laying down my life on the altar
that I could be saved because I'm just a sinner.
I'm just like, I have nothing to offer, right?
Jesus is a spotless, he's never sinned, okay?
And again, if I lay down my life
and the good works that I do, I'm a pretty good person.
I don't deserve to go to hell.
Death's gonna hold you guys.
Your works are not gonna save you.
It is Jesus Christ alone that saves us, okay?
You gotta land this guys because this is reality.
This is the truth, all right?
Jesus came to tell us the truth.
You either reject the truth
or you receive the truth.
If you reject the truth, your reality is gonna be
trying to pay for your own sins yourself and you can't, okay?
When you receive the truth, freedom, hope, peace, joy, life,
Jesus came to give us life.
All right, so he paid the price that I couldn't afford.
So the gospel now is more than just a ticket to heaven, okay?
It doesn't mean that, okay?
So now that Jesus has paid the price for me,
all right, I receive that and now I just get to go to heaven.
No, it's about this whole thing, this whole picture here.
This is the life that I have in Christ today.
His presence with me always, walking with him.
Because what happens is, like if I'm just like,
all right, Jesus paid the price, got my ticket to heaven,
just stand here and wait for him to come back.
We're not following him anymore.
We're not drawing close to him anymore.
He's over here, I don't wanna stay living out here.
And this is sort of, I'm sort of getting ahead of myself,
but that's the point.
It's just like, you don't wanna stay here.
You wanna continue to draw closer to God, okay?
And that's what we wanna do.
That's what we wanna highlight for us this morning.
The gospel is not just a ticket to heaven.
It is, but it's also the power to change
and to be conformed into his image.
And that's what this process is.
That's what sanctification is.
It's a fancy word just to say that I'm gonna be made like him.
But you have to be willing for that to happen.
God doesn't force you to do that.
God doesn't force you to receive Jesus as your Lord.
He gives you an opportunity.
So you should understand already that when you became a Christian
and when you received salvation,
when you received Jesus for salvation, that was your choice.
So now you can understand that it's also your choice
to move closer to him in your life,
to lay down your life and to do away with the things
that are keeping me separated from him.
It's the power to be made more like him.
The gospel is powerful.
All right, so Romans 12, this is the laying down your life.
It says Romans 12, I think it's verse one.
There we go, "I beseech you therefore, brethren,
"by the mercies of God."
Paul's, he's like crying out, "Guys, I'm calling out to you.
"Please get this, beseech you,
"that you present your bodies.
"You present your bodies, your life,
"a holy, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable.
"What has God accept in your life?
"Good things, God is unaccepting of sin.
"He doesn't allow sin to come to him.
"He's unaccepting of it, that's why he dealt with it.
"Holy, acceptable to God and this one here, this one here,
"this is like it's your reasonable service."
Isn't that interesting?
It's just like that's what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
It's reasonable that I would lay down my life
for the one that laid down his life for me.
It's unreasonable for me to think that I could receive
such a great salvation and then have to do nothing myself.
Right, amen?
It's reasonable, guys, that we would lay down our lives,
that we would allow the Holy Spirit to change us
and to deal with our sin and all of those things.
Reasonable.
Luke 9.23, Jesus said this.
He said, "If anyone desires to come after me,
"let him deny himself and take up his cross daily
"and follow me."
It's the same thing.
It's the same thing.
Jesus said this, "If anyone desires to come after me,
"if anyone desires to follow me,
"let him pick up his cross daily and die daily on it."
So a cross is for dying, guys.
That's what it's for.
A cross is to die.
So to pick up your cross means to die, right?
Wonderful.
All right, so do we're gonna keep moving?
Let's keep moving forward.
Let's have a look here at the bronze laver here.
There we go.
Okay, so this was used for washing, okay?
So the priests, in order for the priests to see.
to minister in the temple here, they would need to wash. And it's interesting because they were
already washed, right? So Moses actually consecrated the priests and washed them and they put the
holy garments on, so they're already clean. But then when they came through here and they offered
the sacrifice, that after wash again, that after wash their hands and their feet before they could
enter into the presence of God, into into the holy place. And that's very interesting because
this mirrors the new covenant, okay? And I'm going to explain what I mean by that.
So Jesus declares his 12th to be clean. And John 153, this is what he says, he says, you are already
clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Jesus declares the disciples clean. It's
interesting, isn't it? Because he hadn't yet gone to the cross. How could they be clean if he
hadn't even died yet? Okay, I'll explain what that means in a moment. But okay, so I'm going to
explain what that means right now. Okay, according to my notes here, they believed Jesus's word.
They followed Jesus. They were walking in faith. They believed that Jesus said who he was and they
followed him faithfully. Right? And because of faith in Jesus, they were clean. Isn't that interesting?
That's the same for you and I. Remember this story in the scripture where Jesus tells
you know a hard truth and a whole bunch of the disciples, a whole bunch of these other followers
of Jesus get up and leave. And Jesus says to them, he says, are you guys going to go to it?
So Jesus says to the 12, are you guys going to go and they go, where are we going to go?
Where? You have the words of life. Do you see faith? They followed him faithfully even when it was
hard, even when the truth that he spoke was hard to receive. That applies for us today, doesn't it?
All right, so but Jesus still needs to wash their feet. This is interesting. He declares them
clean. But John 13, 8, this is when Jesus washes the feet of the disciples, okay? He says Peter said
to him, you should never wash my feet. Peter's a funny one. He's just like, no, you're not going to
wash my feet. Jesus answers him and he says, if I do not wash you, you have no part in me.
So then Peter says, okay, I'm paraphrased. So Peter said to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also
my hands and my head. Peter's just like, okay, then wash all of me. He's just like, he's all over the
place this Peter. And Jesus says to him, he who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but he's
completely clean. And you are clean, but not all of you. So that's interesting that. Jesus said
that they had bathed already. He says that you're clean. And again, the reason that they're already
clean was because they'd put their faith in Jesus. And they were following Jesus. And they were
Jesus looked at them and in his eyes, they were clean because they'd put their faith in him,
okay? He knew what he was going to do. If you're going to follow me, you know where they're
going to follow him? They're going to follow him to the cross. They're going to follow him to
the resurrection. They're going to follow him. He's like, if you're
following me, you are clean because that's where this leads, right? And so,
and but their feet still need to be clean to follow him. That's interesting, isn't it? Jesus
declares them clean, but he says, if you don't clean, if you don't allow me to clean your feet,
then you have no part in me. And I think that's really interesting what Jesus is saying. And this
applies to us today. Okay, so I'm saved. I've been justified. My sins have been forgiven.
I've been washed clean. I'm a new creation. But I'm being sanctified. I'm having to constantly
redirect my feet to follow him. Does this make sense? Let me just say it again. So I'm justified.
I'm saved. I've been set free. I've been delivered. So Jesus has to show me
the path for my feet. And when I step outside of his path, I need to be cleansed. I need to be
clean again, right? And so, you know, a simple example of this would be like, even if you've had
a shower. So I've just had a shower, but then I've walked outside and I've walked in the mud.
Am I going to go back in the shower and wash again? I'm going to wash my feet, right? I don't
need a shower again. I'm clean. But my feet are dirty now. So I'm just going to wash my feet.
It's like I am clean. We are cleaning Christ, but our feet get dirty and our hands get dirty.
Because we do things that we shouldn't and we go places that we shouldn't go. Is that makes sense?
So we need our hands in our feet washed. And so this is what takes place here. So the priest
being already clean, have to wash their hands and their feet in order to draw close to God.
You and I have to have our feet now hands washed regularly. Do you know what that looks like for us?
It looks like repentance. Lord, forgive me. You know, because it says that, like those who repent,
it says that he is faithful to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Where is he cleansing us? Not in
our hearts. He's dealt with our hearts, guys. He's dealt with us. We're clean. But he does have to
wash our feet. And so when I repent and when I say, Lord, I didn't mean to do that thing. I didn't
mean to say that. I didn't mean to go there. Lord, forgive the feelings and the emotions that I'm
working in at the moment. He's cleansing me. He's washing my hands and my feet. Isn't that amazing?
And because he's washing my hands and my feet, I'm able to enter into the holiest tent to the tent.
We're not going to get here today. But this is where we want to be. It's close to him as we can.
And it's only through repentance. It's only through the washing of our hands and feet that we draw
close to him. It's not about getting saved every time you sin. But it's about staying cleansed and
staying washed by his word. The reason that I know to repent is because his word tells me that I have to.
When I'm living in a way that is outside of his commands and his ways. That means I need to repent.
And it's by the word of God that I'm realized that I need to be washed. And it's by the word of God
that washes me. So this is, I'm going to move pretty fast from here. But the main point of what I'm
wanting to say today is that many Christians who receive Jesus, they receive the sacrifice
of the cross. And they understand in here that they've been washed clean. They understand that I'm
born again. They've been baptized. They know what it means. You know, this is the outward expression
of what crosses done on the inside. So I've been baptized. I know I'm clean. Then I just live here.
I just stay here. I never go beyond. I just live my life here. And this is, I never take the steps
towards going closer to into his presence, into drawing close to him. And so, you know, because this
in here, you know, in the close place, in the holy place, this is actually gets removed. So this
is one room now. This is the veil that's torn when Jesus died on the cross. This is one room.
This is God's presence. This is, you know, the various things I'm not going to get here. I'd love
to unpack this further. But this lamp stand, do you know what the lamp stand represents in the
scripture? It's the church. I think that what happens sometimes is that people, when I say that
they're living here, they're living here in their understanding of salvation. So they come to church,
they go into the room of church and they do the stuff. They break the bread. They say the prayers.
You know, they do the fellowship thing. But it's surface level. It's not in the heart. It's
it's religious duty, right? You could do all of this stuff. You could live, you could do all of
this stuff. You could receive salvation. You could be washed clean. And then you could just do all
of these things out of religious duty. And it wouldn't bring you any closer to here. It wouldn't
bring you any closer to here. You're actually out here just doing the stuff, right?
So church, church isn't about going somewhere and doing stuff.
That's all we're doing here. Like, we're here. We're drawing close to God's presence.
We're doing these things because it's about Jesus. We break the bread because it's about him.
We pray prayers to the Lord because that Jesus has taught us how to pray. It's how we fellowship
with God. His Holy Spirit is here. This lamp is lit by the Holy Spirit. The light is the Holy
Spirit burning in us and through us. Gosh, it's like it's not religious stuff, guys. It's like
relationship with Jesus Christ. And so when it gets you in here and when you put your life on the
altar and when you allow him to wash your feet and your hands by the Word of God, when you're
submissive to his Word, because that's what I'm talking about, being submissive to his Word,
Thanks for watching.
to the leaders and to the guys that the guys and girls that God's put in your life to lead you,
to lead you, where, into the presence of God, to lead you, into the church, into what the
God's doing. Leaders are here to lead you, not to roll over you. It actually takes a submissive
heart to realize that and to go, "I'm going to trust my leaders because God put them here."
And trusting my leaders means that I'm trusting Jesus because Jesus is a church and His church
is structured in a way where it has leaders and it has saints and all of those things.
But I have to actually put my life on the altar. You know, you have to put your life on the
altar if you're going to trust leaders. You have to. You've got to die to yourself. You've got to
trust the words that are being spoken to you through leaders. When they sit down with you and
they have coffee and they go, "But this thing goes. This thing. What are you doing with this?
Do you understand this?" And you just go, "It's not really for me."
You're not putting yourself on the altar to trust the process that God has for you, to walk you
into, you know, this sanctification process that leads you closer and closer to Him. We are here.
Don't think that you are here, right? You're not actually here because you are here.
The presence of God, Jesus made a way for you to draw close to the Father. We just do things
that we don't understand. We don't understand the heart behind why we do them. And so we do
them in a religious way and we don't actually catch the revelation and the truth and the power
that comes when we understand and walk these things out. Right? It's powerful.
And so I might just leave it there. I would love. Can someone just grab the communion?
I don't know. Chris, maybe you want to just come and grab that? We're going to take communion.
The reason that we're going to take communion is because this is in the holy place that they broke
bread and they drank wine and it was about the blood of Jesus, right? And they did that together.
And so the reason that we do this is to come together. It's called communion because it's
counion. It's like my life and your life and your life and your life all together lifting
our eyes to Jesus and remembering what is done. Communion is powerful. It's not powerful because
of this little cup and the bread and the wine. It's powerful because of the gospel. It's powerful
because it represents Jesus and I'm partaking of this because I'm a partaker of Christ. Isn't
that good? And so we're going to use this this morning as a platform to draw close to him.
Nothing else. Not to try and twist his arm to get into do things. The prize is our relationship
with Jesus. Our prize is drawing closer to him. No, so we're going to take this together. I'm just
going to ask my wife to open that for me, please. But again, I want to say that like there is an
opportunity for anyone in this place that doesn't know him, that wants to know him, that wants to say,
you know, I realize that I'm not that great. I've done some wrong things and if I'm going to have
to face a judgment one day, I'm probably not going to get out of there, right? All of us know in
our heart of hearts that we're not good enough, you know, to claim to be perfect. And that's the
problem because perfection is God. Perfection is what God creates and perfection is what will
go into eternity. I will be their God. They will be my people. He will consistently be a perfect
God and he will be surrounded with people without a perfect. But again, you can't get there yourself.
You need to save you. You need to realize I'm not perfect. I need a Lord and save you. So maybe
before we do this, let's just close our eyes and give opportunity to you guys in this room.
That wouldn't say that you're a Christian, that you wouldn't say that you're a believer.
All you've got to do is raise your hand and say, I want you Jesus. I don't totally understand why
I was a close to. I don't totally understand what it is that this means, but I know I need you.
There's something in my heart that's telling me that I need a savior. And so I'm raising my hand
to you that you could save my life. I'm eyes open now. Everyone else's eyes are closed. If that's you,
you could just raise your hand now. Wonderful. Excellent. Well, I'm just, let's just maybe just
take your hand down. Let's just, I'm just going to pray a prayer because it's important that we do
respond to the Lord. If that's you in this place and you're in your heart of heart saying, I need a
savior. I need Jesus Christ to be my Lord and savior. Then you can just say this in your heart
or say this out loud, just do whatever is comfortable for you. Lord Jesus, I know that I need a
savior. Lord Jesus, I know that I can't make it to the Father on my own merits. And so I receive
the cross. I receive your eternal sacrifice for my sins and I ask that you would cleanse me from
all of my unrighteousness so you wouldn't make me a life, a new creation in Jesus name and that you
would teach me how I can follow you and draw closer to you in Jesus mighty name. Amen. And for the
rest of us here, we're just going to do this. Lord Jesus, we thank you for your body that was
broken for us. We thank you for putting yourself on the altar. We thank you for choosing the cross
willingly, that we could come to know you, that we could draw close to you, that our sins could be
removed, that we could be forgiven. So thank you for your body that was broken for us.
Thank you Lord. And Lord Jesus, this precious blood that was shed, that sprinkled all of the
all of the altar and everything on our behalf. Lord, that it was that we could be cleansed by your
blood, that we could have the forgiveness of sins, that we could be sanctified. Lord, that we could
walk closer and closer with you being conformed into your image. Lord, we thank you for your blood
in this place. Lord Jesus, have your way in and through us, for us as a church, for us as individuals,
for everything that you're wanting to do. Lord, please don't allow us to stay where we are.
Please give us the strength and the courage to follow you step by step, to walk after you in
Jesus mighty name. Amen. Come, please. Just talking about drawing near to God, even in our prayer
time this morning, like it was such a strong theme, just reminded of Psalm 16. It says, "You make
known to me the path of life, in your presence there is fullness of joy." So like if we're living out
in the in the outer courts, or if we're just religiously doing the things, like we're not experiencing
the fullness of joy that's found in God's presence, in your presence there is fullness of joy,
at your right hand are pleasures for ever more. And that place is a spiritual place, like and it's
a place that we enter in by faith. So just because Dave hasn't gone and unpacked the full picture
today, doesn't mean that we can't walk out of this moment and experience the fullness of God.
Like it's like by faith, you have died for us, you've washed us clean and you've made a way for us
to draw near to God's presence. And that's the place where there's fullness of joy. And that's the
place where no matter what diagnosis, no matter what's going on in our life, like the realities,
they're there and they're real and they can be heavy on our flesh, but our spirits can grow.
I mean, I have fullness of joy because I am in God's presence. Yeah. So yeah, that was
well, I had to add. Awesome. Cool. Well, please hang around guys. You know, a part of, you know,
even doing communion, right? We partake in the bread and it's a picture of the body. And we all
are a part of this body and we all have a vital role to play. I mean, even just an open this morning,
like do you believe that you could receive something from someone else in the body this morning?

Summary:

The bronze altar represents the cross, where Jesus willingly sacrificed Himself to take away the sins of humanity. This sacrifice made it possible for people to draw near to God and experience forgiveness and reconciliation.
Putting your life on the altar means willingly laying down your own desires, passions, and sinful habits to follow Christ. It involves dying to self and embracing a life of obedience and transformation in Christ.
The bronze laver represents the need for ongoing repentance and cleansing. Even after being spiritually cleansed by grace, believers must regularly repent and have their hands and feet washed to stay in a right relationship with God.
