The transcript blends two distinct themes: a promotional and entertaining review of the social deduction game "Who’s the Bad Guy?" by Barstool Sports, and a deep-dive football analysis hosted by the Ryan Rosillo Show in partnership with DraftKings. The game segment highlights its engaging, deception-based mechanics, diverse character roles, and appeal at social gatherings. The football segment features detailed commentary on defensive strategies, particularly Brian Flores’ innovative use of hot drops and blitz patterns that disrupt quarterbacks and offensive line decisions. Key game moments are analyzed, such as the Bills’ dominant performance against the Bengals, where they limited Joe Burrow to a career-low success rate, and Cincinnati’s strong defensive showing. The discussion also touches on tactical shifts, like the Chiefs’ use of deep plays and the Colts’ resilient fight against adversity, emphasizing the evolving complexity of modern football strategy. The content underscores the importance of adaptability, player health, and defensive coordination in determining outcomes. Throughout, the narrative promotes DraftKings’ app as a central hub for fans to follow all games, with special attention to live coverage, betting features, and weekend football events. While acknowledging risks like gambling and injuries, the overall tone remains energetic and focused on the excitement of live football and innovative team strategies.

Nate Tice joins us again on a Monday after Week 2 with Monday Night Football.
Ahead of us here, he is part of Yahoo Sports and the football community.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
You know, normally when you pitch, you throw the fastball to set up everything else.
In this case, the analogy would be, imagine just throwing all your breaking stuff to finish with the fastball.
Although, from a direct comp of it, it's that floor starts with everybody in the line of scrimmage,
so that would actually kind of like be your fastball, but I'm not going to get bogged down on what that actually really means.
But everybody's playing kind of top-down.
Everybody, zone, cloud, quarters, let's just make sure everything's in front of us,
and then we'll figure it out there.
And instead, they're just stacking the line of scrimmage,
making your offensive line have to guess,
making your quarterback have to guess.
And it worked.
It worked all afternoon.
I would say if Caleb doesn't get hurt, I think Chicago still pulls this football game out
because they'd solve some stuff with the run game.
Ben Johnson's gone up against them a million times.
But first and foremost, let's start with Flores and the fact that the Vikings win games
even when they get awful quarterback play because of what they do on defense.
Yep, and they figured out the run game a little bit, at least to keep them alive.
But no, it is like a great analogy.
Like, I've called Brian Flores, like, Phil Necro.
Like, you know, he's a knuckleballer.
Like, it's like, oh, all right, all right, here we go.
Oh, shoot.
You know, and you're just like, oh, you're always off balance.
And Flores is trying to win.
He's turned early downs, first and second down, into passing downs.
You know, he is trying to put you behind the sticks.
He's throwing stuff that teams used to only throw on third down or second and long.
Now he's doing it on first and 10.
Now he's doing it against run formations.
And that's what it is.
And he has a lot of blitzes, and it's a defense.
But a lot of returning faces, not just Harrison Smith, but like everybody.
Like, really, the two new faces are Caleb Banks and Dominique Orange.
You know, other than that, though, it's a lot of returning guys.
And a couple of them are missing, too, that are supposed to be like key contributors on top of everything else.
Like, just to remind you, like, this isn't even fully formed yet, but keep going.
No, yeah.
And it's really hard because it's a lot of, you know, I say it's older brother.
Like, I'm not hitting you.
I'm not hitting you.
I'm not hitting you.
Oh, I hit you.
You know, it's like a lot of like, you know, just getting on the flinch.
And he's going to make you wrong like they and I can get into what the Bears try to counter with.
And this is why, you know, you saw Cole come at and Colson Love when blocking Dallas Turner is what he does is that those defenses.
And it's not he invented it.
You know, a lot of defenses do it, but he just fully leaned into it as they read the slide of the protection.
So if you are like they're going to make you wrong, no matter what, if you are in a six man protection, which is the most common dropback protection, there is center guard tackle working.
Together and a half slide.
And then the other guard, the tackle and the running back work on to the other side.
That is the six man.
There's different versions, depending on how the front works, where four guys slide, tackle and the running back are together.
And what he does is they're reading when they're all mugged up.
They're reading which way the slide's going.
And so the where the offensive line is working to those guys drop, they hot drop, they call it.
And then the other side is the ones actually blitzing.
So then they have a numbers.
So they don't.
I'm sorry, but like to stand.
It's you said it a hot drop.
In the same way, a route would be the hot route was like whatever the initially designed route was.
Now that you see that the blitz is behind you, so you have to cut everything off to a much shorter depth so that I can get the ball at you quicker.
Whoever is on the line of scrimmage is deciding after the ball is snapped into the slide of whether or not they're going or dropping out.
Yep.
And and and the term hot drop is because they're taking away the hot route.
That is, you know, there's two ways.
It was the Justin Herbert discussion last week.
There's kind of two ways, you know, two rules of thought going against blitzing teams.
It's either wadded up and protect it, get a hat on the hat, which is something I believe in, and then gash them, throw it down the field and say, Hey, keep blitzing us.
We're going to get 20 yards of pop.
You might get us once or twice, but we're going to get 20 yards of pop or throw hot and well, now this defense takes away the likely hot throws, which are usually slants, crossers, quick out routes, and then on top of it, they'll run cover too.
So that's another change up off the blitz look.
And then the other thing that I like about this blitz is that the quarterback is thinking he's heated up, but then they run cover to and cover to is the safest coverage, quote unquote, and how to beat cover to is you have to throw deep digs, whole shots to the side, seam balls and corner routes with all those sound like deep down the field.
And so this is the Joe Burrow discussion.
So the quarterback goes, Oh, I'm heated up.
But actually, then sometimes it's covered, too.
It's like, Oh, no, I'm not heated up.
Oh, no, I got to read this out and find the deep route.
And then maybe I'm wrong.
And I am heated up.
And I have.
I have to get rid of it quickly.
So he's doing the he's min maxing.
You know, he's doing a little bit of everything where he's either doing a one or a zero.
And so they're reading that hot drop.
So in a six man protection, you're going to be wrong in a five man protection, which is another way to get at.
They're going to read the slide.
And no matter what, that end man, the line of scrimmage is going to get there.
So that's what you're the quarterback has to beat that guy that's on the end man, the line of scrimmage that's racing towards them.
You see Dallas Turner a couple of times just running Scott free because they're sliding to wad it up.
And that guy's hot.
That guy's the hot guy off for the quarterback.
And then on top of it, what the Bears try to do is they try to do they try full wad it up.
And when I say that, they try to use a seven man slide.
So these are the these are all the protections you can have three or five, six, seven.
So seven man protection.
There's ways to if you see two backs in the backfield, they can kind of like you see the Patriots do do a lot.
They're kind of the old school team.
The Bengals would do this tight end running back and you try to sort it out.
But they're trying to just do a full slide, which is a simple protection.
But with.
The Bears were saying is like, hey, we're not even trying to figure it out.
We're just going to wad this up and hopefully Caleb makes us right with some downfield routes.
But it becomes a numbers game.
If I'm wasting seven guys of protection, that's a tight end or running back.
I only have three routes.
And if they drop seven in the coverage, it's three versus seven.
Very hard to win that way.
Or you can find a couple throws.
But that's why Caleb was running around a bunch because they're running about a lot of guys in routes.
They're covered when there isn't a blitz.
So, again, it's just a frustrating thing.
It's either I'm throwing so much.
Gas at you.
You have to get rid of the ball quick or I'm not.
And that's why I mean the big brother thing.
So I'm not hitting you.
I'm not hitting you.
And then he hits you.
But it's just it's very, very hard, especially in a rain game like that, especially when you're just they just manipulate and kind of know what you're trying to do.
And what's funny is that that seven man slide was the old school way of how to try and beat that.
Brian Flores kind of blitzes and teams got away from it.
And now the Bears have reverted all the way back to trying to like, hey, we'll just wad this up and try and gash him down.
field and it's really,
really hard to do i remember i think it was those early 2000s rams teams and it was the the saying
was and i'm talking about their defense not even their offense it was 11 man to the football right
and when it's working and i remember the broadcaster because it was just this awesome
thing where guys are flying all over the place you just feel like no one's ever open and the
announcer i didn't even know if it was madden i mean it was somebody of that stature it was just
like man when you see it like this you kind of wonder like why doesn't everybody do 11 men to
the football and you're like well because wow you start getting to play fakes and all this different
stuff like it could be a complete disaster exactly and so when you watch what Flores is doing in the
line of scrimmage and playing it backwards as Olsen describes it um well the way you just
described it to me also tells you like you have to draft a very specific person on defense you
have to be able to draft somebody that's both a pass rusher but can fake getting back into coverage
long enough and not asking to run 20 yards down the field but like you've got to stay connected
through those five or ten yards and you have to be smart enough all of those guys the communication
has to be elite so when you're watching it you're going hey why don't you do that it's going to be
a teaching component with Flores it has to be an incredible scouting thing where they're like
we trust that this guy is not going to freelance we trust that right as the snap happens he's going
to make the right decision more often than not because just as 11 men of the football this could
be an entire disaster
for a defense trying to do this without the same kind of coaching and that's why like guys like
Andrew Van Ginkle go Badgers is kind of like he stands out in this defense is because they're
these guys are so repped in this and again they have so much experience so the counters are very
laid out okay gash them down the field other counters that offenses try to use like quick
screens to receivers but then if you ever notice watch those Vikings edge rushers or outside
linebackers or Harrison Smith get their hands up and so it's like then becomes a trick shot for
the quarterback on a screen so even screened
screens which are supposed to be the easy hey training wheels play let's make it safe now become
difficult like so it's a it's a great which was laying out is exactly right they get these kind
of hybrid guys tweeners if a hybrid is complimentary tweeners this makes sense like Dallas Turner isn't
just a great edge guy he's twitching and drop exactly right yeah yeah you got to get Van Ginkle
is another example the guy they even drafted from Cincinnati Jake all day no one knew what position
he was is he slot is he an edge is he an off-ball linebacker perfect we we just had he's a front
seven player Josh Metellus another player he can just play in the slot he can play in the box he
can Blitz he can drop their inside linebackers are unique players because they're really good
pass rushers because they get they get the knife down and go down the a gap a bunch so again they're
just well versed and even on top of it is these Blitzes and you know there's some Belichick here
Belichick did the hot drops that was the seeing ghost game um for Sam Darnold
is that I I just don't know which guy's dropping I'm throwing hot now I'm throwing picks is they'll
run cover zero and usually cover zero is man-to-man hey gash him cover zero one it's one-on-ones
everywhere you just gotta get the ball out but then Flores has adapted his rules and now it's
almost a zero match where they're pattern matching on the back end so they're not just playing man to
man they're passing off and he's turned cover zero which used to be pure man into match coverages
and actually in a later game we can get to is that's the Bo Nixon or something
um against the Jaguars is they ran a more modern cover zero is because they were pattern matching
Jordan Lewis made a great play and fell off but they're essentially bracketing and and kind of
in and outing each of these routes and they know that the quarterback is heated up so really just
they can they can kind of take chances and just know that hey hey I can fall off on this so
it's a modern twist on some kind of like stuff that Belichick was doing and Flores and all these
guys are just so well versed in it that they can drop so quickly because over time they're
there's the human element like okay all right Garrett Bradbury these centers and they're taught
all week hey don't give away what our protection slide is yeah but in the fourth quarter he's tired
and all of a sudden he just goes rip rip Liz Liz and tells the defense which slots way they're
sliding and pointing and the defense goes oh okay you know now I know which way to drop and and then
there's other stuff where guys are doing fake points and stuff like that but you can see that
kind of trick that's why it trickles down always against the Vikings yeah look this sport in the
game pay attention to that kind of stuff is like it's just a simple motion right because of the
human nature part of it or having somebody run inside of the actual number one option you know
like there was a touchdown to the right corner of the end zone yesterday I can't even remember
which game it was but all it was they brought a tight end or a receiver inside of the outside
receiver like he was outside of him he motions inside of him and he runs straight and the
linebacker who has to get that area to the left of him into the end zone he just takes a simple
step to stay with the guy that's running at him that's the shortest and the next thing you know
like how did that guy get so wide open it was like it was just a simple motion that's all it was
because it left you indecisive for a second yes as you're backpedaling going I know what my
responsibility is but oh my God this like big guy's coming at me right now he might be it and
that's kind of what this game is um the Caleb touchdown was that oh I'm sorry yeah sorry the
Eagles final touchdown was a great example of that uh was that they messed with it in an in and out
Smith they thought it so in and out is two two DBs the corner in the slot one takes the in route
no matter which guy has it one takes the out route Devante Smith is on a speed motion so the
guy that slots like oh he's coming at me he's coming inside but then Devante Devante Smith
reverses back out and runs an Outbreaker so he gets double covered because the guy that thought
he has the end thought he had him and the out guy is like no I got him and then the guys pops right
behind wide open for a touchdown so exactly what you're laying out was an example there real quick
Caleb thing um I remember when Tatum went down with the Achilles thing against the Knicks well
of course all of us remember it and whatever and you were like well man he's in a ton of pain which
was like the only thing that was telling me like maybe it wasn't the Achilles because usually when
you see it happen the players confused remember Kobe was like did you kick me even James Wiseman
was like backpedaling and then he fell down he kind of looked around like confused like what's
going on so that's why like for a moment there with the Tatum thing I was like I'm still not
100 sure and so Caleb was in so much pain even though he wasn't hit by anybody and the leg just
gives out and now everybody thinks every single injury is in Achilles now all the time um you know
look to your point on third and long Chicago was in third and seven plus eight times they went two
for eight one of them was solving it with a screen uh the Loveland thing is still really weird one
catch three yards and they left him into block on the bad sort of the end zone because I was
watching that matchup being like do you get it
to Loveland because he's such a playmaker I'm like they have to leave him in against Dallas Turner
and I don't love the just across the board stop blocking defensive ends with tight ends thing
because it's like well sometimes it actually does work yeah right and so on that one they're hoping
he can hold up long enough it's kind of an impossible spot to go Bajan hey get in there but
three red zone trips no points for it the fumble to go on the block field goal Caleb's injury so
it's just a brutal brutal day and a Bears defense that none of us necessarily like that they maybe
have a good side here is you only gave up nine points of this whole thing but since it's the
hamstring part of it and how messy as you had told me this summer you're like I think the NFC North is
the Big 12. I don't think anybody should be written off and no one should be scared of anyone else
based on what we've seen through two weeks that includes Green Bay who you're like what do I do
with this team right now the Green Bay's defense which I thought was gonna be total jokes actually
was kind of good I think again Vikings with Carson Wentz but like that game even then it
was like upon rewatch it was so many short fields that's where all the points came from and then
they played the Jets and Jets are no joke like Jets are kind of like you know well Aaron Glenn's
clock management at the end might have been a joke but the rest of the team like I don't think
he knew I don't think he understood it I saw his quote after the fact yeah so go ahead no no it's
it's kind of yeah him and then Vrabel that burned two timeouts in a row and now they gotta delay a
game that was a there were some weird moments
like clock management stuff but yeah but the Jets are not bad like I don't think they're great but
they're not bad and I mean Lucas Van Ness was baptizing them I I mean he was incredible Lucas
Van Ness so like yeah he shout out to him and then they have a young guy Danny Dennis Sutton
from Penn State that looked good so they like their defense I think Jonathan Gannon I said
this last week but that was like the second highest rate he ever blitzed was in week one
as a play caller and I think this week or against the Jets yesterday was a higher rate
score at least an equivalent rate so he's blitzing he's playing different or he's coaching it up
scheming it different than he did with the Eagles I it's yeah the Packers defense the run game maybe
they get Caleb Johnson going but the O-line is still a mess Jordan Love is still it's it's all
hero ball from Jordan Love but yeah they're they're a weird team too the Lions I don't know
I can't trust their DBs um Kelvin Shepard they're supposed to get everybody back when they get
back they just can't be like oh and five you know really right right their offense is fine like they're
not going to be on five so no no they're too good like they have too much talent it's just
more Jameer Gibbs like don't run them into the ground because they have no backup running back
so it's like that that's my like one little thing I'm worried like if Jameer Gibbs gets banged up
like they're built on the run game and then Jared golf playing off of that so like that's one little
scary thing I'm watching right now but they're out there right tackle they're out there left guard and
I don't know I thought actually the Lions offense didn't play as bad as it maybe looked I just think
the bills offense which is just Elite right now and just firing on all cylinders well let's talk
talk about the bills because they didn't play and rarely does a team not play and i go god i like
him even more after watching how hard that win was for cincinnati against houston so look the
headline on this whole thing is houston's own two uh probably a little early to be worrying about
them being the 12 seed in the afc uh i don't like the own two stat that just inundates every single
broadcast and maybe i'm wrong on this one but it's just i think there's so many bad teams that
are calculated in the own to start thing where if i were a good team with expectations things
haven't worked out for me i've had a tough schedule to start the first two weeks i'd be like i know
what the number says 16 of the teams make it to the playoffs starting 0 and 2 since it's expanded
we're not those teams we're good and we've been disappointing through two weeks so i don't think
it's relevant even if some people just tell me hey it's math like what point are you trying to make
i'll accept that maybe so many people think i'm wrong about the whole thing i just think it's
it's kind of overstated
having said all that watching how hard that was for burrow makes me go jesus the bills are amazing
all right it's i that's what you've been going into the week and i talked about this on thursday
with matt was the bills did everything you should do against that texans defense if you want to
nickel and dime against them you're dead like that it's they have too much speed they have too many
pass rushers and they just have too much and i know it doesn't feel that way after a couple weeks but
they held joe burrow to the second lowest success rate he's ever had in a single game only one out of
four dropbacks was successful that is stark like that is so low but he was explosive and he extended
plays and when you're playing against a defense that runs so much zone especially a lot of quarters
the longer the play goes the harder it is to guard but if you're throwing within two two and a half
seconds they can just close they can read routes the touchdown jamar chase on not the here oh my
god unbelievable pirouette the best catch of the year
there's no way there's gonna be a better touchdown catch than that that's he's unbelievable he's
actually it's it's can we stay with that because i always argue that he's i think he's the best
receiver in the league um i think there's people when jefferson's at his peak and look it wasn't
jefferson's fault last year that he had two touchdowns so then he gets overlooked a little
bit there was actually like a really good comparison between the two and that chase
makes that play and i've always liked chase a little bit more because i think he's got a little
bit more motherfucker in him but then if you look at jefferson on the wentz throw that he missed in
set that route up so perfectly because every single receiver running that route is running a
corner route into the back of the end zone every single one and all he does is just faint and then
run straight to the back of the end zone and he looked back at wentz and he kind of went with his
fingers very close like it was close and i don't think he was like shitting on him there a little
bit i think he was trying to be like oh man we were this close they were this close but he was
also letting you know like the throw wasn't good because i was wide open and when people prefer
jefferson on the route technician stuff you see that play and you go well i can't tell you that's
wrong so i'm not just saying this because chase that end zone touchdown is so stupid that it was
even possible that he could get his body and his feet down with all that he's he's my favorite and
i would argue him still the best in the league but i don't yeah i it's a 1a 1b i i'm partial
jefferson just because yeah they're outrunning stuff actually is why and just some of the
jefferson stuff working from the slot like just more of a kind of like to tout like total player
and some stuff he moves like his legs and upper body are like separate from each other i mean i
like they truly his legs will be this way and his upper body be the other way it's it's weird
but chase is just a force of nature like so and again this is what the extended plays and i had
the stat on it yeah burrow on throws over two and a half seconds was 9 of 13 for 137 yards and two
touchdowns and that was him because against those quarters looks and again on it even though some
people thought reed blakenship was wrong chase is running a dig and on that side it's a quarter
safety and quarter safeties and quarter safeties and quarter safeties and quarter safeties and
quarter safeties and quarter safeties and quarter safeties and quarter safeties and quarter safeties
digs drive on they are supposed to take it away and drive on it he drives on it but then the play
extends and then chase just keeps running and so it's that's the thing if you extend against a zone
really tight zone defense like that that's how you make it pop so even though burrow 25 success rate
got sacked five times he had seven explosives so it's like yeah we didn't make a lot of contact
but when we did it was going over the fence and that's how you have to beat the texans like you
trying to go for a 50 success rate and the bills did in week one and i thought burrow and extending
those plays didn't week two because lano brown was rough marius mims is a star or land or you
know right tackle yeah mince is awesome yeah uh it just felt so like you know regardless of the
sack numbers which is high um which you always sort of expect with burrow and you know because
he's played the first two weeks if you project it out over a full season it's going to start
creeping up to the season he was sacked 51 times and he's going to start creeping up to the season
which is a career high but it's also the throws where it's like a defensive lineman is hanging
around his hips and he's completing some of this stuff i think yesterday was a bit of a reminder of
like this is why every time these qb tier things come out like he's going to be fourth like he's
going to be fourth at worst and i look on the other side of the football you know you go through
free agency which is probably worse and worse as far as what you're shopping for because as i point
out all the time when the cap continues to go up like this you can just be like well who's available
because you just get to keep everybody even if you make a mistake i'll sign my slot like i'll sign
my safety like yeah why not why not i can pay him 20 mil who cares um especially with the cap
trickery that you can pull off in the nfl but if you look at what cincinnati's done here i mean
dexter dolores is a no-brainer the dexter lawrence um other than you kind of wonder like all right
is it simply a contract thing where the other teams even allow him to go i know john allen's
been around for a while um they bring in cook um look they're when i'm running through who they've
got in mafe as well from seattle who like they had to make some decisions on contract stuff
because they have so many good players on defense it's like all right and you could even argue maybe
he isn't quite what people thought he was going to be a couple years ago but i'm talking about
like five guys that are new that are real dudes including three on the defensive line and you
know a cincinnati defense where i'm like i'm not just going to assume because it's different it's
going to be better but if you're the 10th best defense which is i think where they are right
now in opposing yards per play that is a completely different cincinnati situation like
the conversations you're allowed to have about them now and where they are in the afc with a
healthy burrow is as crazy as the afc is which feels like it's just deep one through eight with
all of these teams uh looking at their defense the first couple weeks again against a houston
team who i do think is going to be really good uh this is this is an awesome start for this
franchise yeah it's i i have a theory of like you know everyone wants to go from their bad players
their d's and d minuses they want the a's you know jump that's where they want to bump upgrade
it's kind of shit to not shit like sometimes going from a d to a b minus or c plus actually
is a huge boost but sometimes you go from a d to dexter lawrence and it's a yeah it is that d to an
a and i mean yesterday and i i have some qualms with what the texans are calling in the run game
right now i think they should be more of an at you gap scheme duo run scheme which is more physical
more double teams more polars they run too much zone and yeah dexter lawrence shredded them
whenever they ran zone because
they're going against us the listeners right now name the center for the texans
all right yeah that's that's exactly it i can name dexter lawrence and he dominated him because
especially on those zone runs he has to block them one-on-one and they only had one successful
running back run and that was a three-yard gain on second and one to woody marks so that was the
only time they stayed ahead the change when they ran the ball yesterday the texans they got stuffed
six times a stuff is a tackle for zero yards or tfl that that that's hard
living you know that that's really hard living if the bangles can do this on top of the turnovers
like they have two really good corners now they're kind of filled out the front and they can keep
them behind the sticks and not have all these short yardage plays on third down and when they
do get have short yardage plays they have guys that can dominate because it wasn't just dexter
lawrence too it's a guy that was even there um uh tj slate had some dominant plays as well and
he's been there uh so it's just yeah i feel a little his life's a lot easier now oh yeah three
new guys on the defensive line yeah three guys on the defensive line yeah three guys on the defensive
line yeah we got over 1200 pounds up here up front and then on top of it too is the run they
they're getting a little what i call siloed where it's if they're under center they're running if
they're in shotgun they're passing zach taylor has shown that he'll adapt off of that so they
need some like baltimore yes baltimore is the same way and tenants and that's why teams look
at four weeks and then once you get those tendencies that's when you really see teams
make jumps in the second month because then they got tendencies and film and all that kind of stuff
and you see the good teams break those tendencies is that i did like the
bangles were using more kind of what they call two back runs with actual another guy in the back
field and they were actually pretty good at that pretty successful at that and i want them to keep
leaning into it and kind of build out that package because that was really working for them and it's
nice to just have that floor lifting run package and they're and they had one taken back that was
that that was even like a 20-something yard gain but if that's part of this package on top of these
explosive plays that we know jamar chase and tiggins get to it's like this and now they can
play defense and actually hold up against some of these offenses because i thought cj stroud actually
played great um i know people aren't going to think that but he actually he was playing like
a hero yesterday it was just that i think the rest of the team let him down they had a drop field
goal um you know the holders dropping a field goal which you never see in the nfl especially
indoors that's kind of just like you're fired like what what are you doing here if you were
dropping field goals but i just think this bangles team is just they got a lot they're live on
defense like you said might not be 10th but they're not going to be bottom 10 like they were
last year no in the red zone situation
i'm with you on stroud like i don't leave that i mean do you realize he leads the nfl in past
attempts through two weeks oh you know he threw it 55 times like i i watched the whole game and
then i still was like he threw it 55 times yesterday yeah so you factor in that number
of shootout with the bills it would make sense at the end of the year stroud's not going to lead
the league in past attempts i'm with you the red zone stuff was a disaster yesterday for him
um i'm still like houston next week i do too i like both of these teams i like the bills too
they're they're the class of the afc you know and that's the thing is like i i still feel okay
about the texans like again the defense held joe burrow to his second lowest success rate
he's ever had usually you would take that and but you know those big plays of jamar chase and even
higgins all that they add up to houston you're 12 seed right now don't worry texans fans

kansas city cults uh all right whatever the communication was that they talked about
where the green dot was the safety and then they made a mistake and then they made a mistake and
moved it to middle linebacker i guess never do that again i mean i know they still gave up 30
plus points but it was kansas city the night game at their place and then they start dropping bodies
in the secondary there you have to feel i know you're owing to indianapolis but you have to feel
so much better that you competed in this game that it got to overtime and that there were moments
where the defense didn't look anything like what baltimore came rolling in with week one
yeah and on top of it like the offense is still
you still got jonathan taylor you still have i mean i would pierce getting hurt it's not ideal
but yeah josh downs i know i really like pierce a lot and especially what i played golf with his dad
really dude unbelievable family oh they're freak athletes aren't they like the whole family they're
all like crazy athletes yeah yeah his dad was like a single digit handicap and plays the base
i mean it's like it doesn't even you think i'm lying it's like all true yeah i played golf with
him out in elgin was it i forget i don't know he's not even like yeah and that's the thing he's six
three i think he was like a really good volleyball player if i remember correctly too uh he's probably
good at everything yeah he was good at golf and then he was telling me about all the brothers he
was an awesome awesome guy still is that's really cool i know i he he went to the badgers camp they
didn't and they didn't offer him and yeah but we have a lot of problems going on wisconsin right
now but uh i mean you feel like you know that's the type of guy you offer
especially at wisconsin um no but i i thought the run game for the colts looked good i like i just
don't think they have the forces on defense even if they played better like lou anna rose
anna rumo's a good coach it's just they just like arden key shouldn't be playing that many snaps
and on top of it they don't really have that much pass rush juice but offensively like
watch the opening drive shane steichen can still dial them up they they turtled a little bit in
the end i thought you know you gotta realize you're going against number 15 you know i thought
you're going against number 15 you know i thought you're going against number 15 you know i thought
i did think that the run game stuff was pretty good for the colts they had the both of those
touchdowns came what they call pin pull um outside outside guy pins offensive lineman pull it's
student body left and student body right you know that's what those plays are um but no they like
having the fact that the colts can still get to that their old line's not bad dana jones is still
iffy but at least he can still kind of pepper some throws when it's all going well but i'll say
though the chiefs like getting their kind of like patrick mahomes kind of getting the deep ball
like all right let's talk about it because that's yeah hey shout out collinsworth had two
unbelievable moments maybe he had more but two that stood out to me and he goes you know you've
got kenneth walker in there who by the way it is not just about hey did he get 100 yards tonight
by the way i have some pierce family facts that i needed i was laughing about while you were talking
because i totally messed up the town we'll get to that a little bit later um it's i think there
was a second and short and over time and he finds a way like there's no way it's tfl and he finds a
way to just get the extra yard or two and then moves the chains it's it's not like i said the
catches that you're starting to see from him a little bit more that collinsworth talked about
but he's going like look over the course of the season kind of those packages you were talking
about with the two running backs of cincinnati like out of this will we start to see and i don't
know if there's look there isn't a number one wide receiver on this team still but for a night
and santa was all over this like through mahomes first 70 games the number of 20 plus yard plays
and now since like the last few seasons that has dropped off he had a 29 to thornton who i couldn't
believe hung on to that ball in overtime he had a 44 yard one i know it's just a few of them but
jesus like if you look at how long it's been since mahomes of all people hasn't had this as part of
his arsenal you wonder if it doesn't necessarily have to be the number one receiver but walker is
finally somebody that you have to respect with how you're going to play your fronts against him
because if you're just going to let him run wild mahomes is totally happy just taking it the entire
time
trickle down effect of a run game those safeties have to creep up like those safeties have to be a
little little bit lower like or they just their eyes have to be in the back and that's kind of
the modern game right now these defenses with a kind of the too high thing is kind of a
misconception and it's a kind of a misnomer it's it's too high shell and they rotate down into
three and other things or they invert yada yada but when you're in quarters is that the safeties
are the run fit like they are run defenders like they are the force defenders
and that's a very key part of how to attack those defenses you want to influence the safeties
so if i have a run game cooking and a run game getting explosives then the safeties have to be
part of the run like they start have to fill up they have to get a little tighter but then that
creates air in the offense because now when i attack deeper if i'm throwing it 20 yards down
the field that's just two yards more space if the safeties are that much closer and really it's not
name just Kenneth Walker it's um Emmett Johnson the rookie from Nebraska which I actually thought
Collinsworth actually had some scouting on him which I was like whoa look at you like actually
had some notes on him I was like I was actually kind of surprised by that but you saw the two
Taekwon Thornton deep balls they're both third and long those uh those were kind of the classics
for the Chiefs like the one the the overtime one was what third and 12 I mean just that's like the
Mahomes throw that's the whole point everybody else you're supposed to go hey we've got them in
third and 12 and when Mahomes is right and now Alan you have to put into that conversation but
Mahomes was the only guy where you're like I still don't feel good and it feels like it's been too
long since you should be the opponent still not feeling good on third and 12 against that guy
and that was that was the same play that they hit Tyreek Hill on in the first Super Bowl against
49ers Wasp it was the exact same play that's the same play same play same play same formation same
chip help from from the tight end everything everything it was just you know flipped one
right or left
but it's yeah one by three formation one by three to me is one meaning alone tight ends the iso
receiver three is the trips receivers to the other side and the first time they hit uh Taekwon
Thornton on a deep one it was same formation one by three same third and extra extra long and that
one they ran a deep over to Taekwon Thornton you know just literally what it sounds like deep and
over and what Wasp is is a deep sail route and sails and overs work off each other one you're
and when you're breaking out so they ran the same formation on those third and extra longs and then
they ran that was that's what's so genius about the last one was that they ran the counter they
ran the change up off the one they showed earlier and then they just come down with a great play but
yeah same one that Tyreek Hill hit uh against the 49ers in that 2019 Super Bowl uh you know so kind
of funny that they were playing the hits and it it's looking good again this is also with their
left tackle out for the Chiefs um it's great they're at that undrafted rookie I'm shocked
okay Daniel Jones we talked about it last week a little bit going like hey that whole thing was a
fluke that started 25. I'm not taking myself out of fluke phase but I thought the second Collinsworth
point that I want to bring up is their overtime their first and ten they're facing an eight man
box which is something else I was watching because the end of that regulation Colts drive where they
got them to punt it reminded me of the Minnesota game earlier Spagnuolo was like I'm gonna put 10
guys he had one play 10 guys in a line of scrimmage and one corner was like lined up against somebody
that's a slot and so then I was like is he gonna close the rest of the game with this because we've
all seen it from Spagnuolo over the years it's like once he decides okay this like this is just
what's gonna happen the rest of the time they kind of got out of that a little bit but on this one
particular play it's first and ten I think at KC 17 and it's an eight-man box and you can tell that
this is like where I think Collinsworth like if you're not paying enough attention to it you don't
appreciate him because he's basically saying like that's the difference between like the other guys
that are still at because you've got to check out of that right now and it was a one-yard tackle for
a loss it sets them up and now they've got the field goal decision and now you're feeling like
okay we're we're screwed we're screwed here now because we definitely needed seven against this
kind of team overall
i think there was a lot especially with pierce going out that i mean look you just should feel
weight there's it's hard to feel that much better about yourself after a loss but the colts did it
there's several times where the colts could just gave up and the fact that they're kind of kept
fighting and a team that's i mean they kind of have a black cloud hanging over them right now
maybe it's the owner on the sideline but they kind of have a black cloud hanging over them
right now but i really do think that's like they could have gave up a lot of times that's really
hard to go and they went at arrowhead you know it i mean they go to texans next or they play
texans next but i agree that it's like they at least have life and it's not a totally deadbeat
offense and not a total deadbeat defense even though that they're not ideal they're not totally
healthy right now how do you feel about the kicking off if it's against the chiefs with the overtime
rules because i thought that was an interesting debate then terrico brought up the records it's
you know you still want to know what you have to do yeah but the way it plays and i'm not trying to
do this just because the way it played out but that makes that conversation a lot harder than
i think people give it credit for it's like okay but if we go field goal field goal that means that
like just the way the possessions work they're getting a next an extra possession before we do
do we really want to do that to my homes i know i go back and forth on this because it's a heart
versus head i don't know me i don't either because again it's situations with it and i don't know
that kind of have to adapt some of the
overtime thinking because it's new rules and it's like how the flow of these games have gone with
those overtime rules is a back and forth whether it's field goal field goal or you get the touchdown
first okay well now we know i have to get the touchdown next or punt punt and then whoever had
the ball first now it's live now it's sudden death you know i've seen that kind of flow happen a lot
too so i i go back and forth on this but especially going against number 15 who is literally the best
two-minute operator i've probably ever seen so again that's what kind of that turns into as well
i'm i'm with you i i stick to you want the ball second but like it's still just very hard when
you're going against number 15 i still think i'd rather know what i have to do same okay yeah that's
the whole point but but yeah if i think the other guy is that good do i really want to sign myself
up for the odds that he's getting a second position um it's like yeah it's like the dragon
rules if you're going against josh allen my homes maybe lamar it's like yeah bro it's like all right
but maybe he'll shy away from that and try and get the ball first so i think that's the whole point
first denver pulls it out against jacksonville it was an ugly first half all the bad bow knicks
was there um you have pointed this out to me that he is just i mean this is kind of like the floors
things like why doesn't everybody do that or i remember like back when rex ryan had mark sanchez
and they're making runs to afc title games and it was like so he's just gonna blitz all the time
like you can just blitz and granted because it was rex too he's like and we're gonna blitz even
more and i remember like doing shows on monday scott and i'd be sitting there going like so can
that doesn't seem to make any sense build the house out of it build the whole plane out blitzes
that's how we do how's when you have durell rivas too right but to the point of like yeah yeah it's
kind of like the golf play action numbers you know what he's a play action it's like why don't you do
it every time well you can't do it every time it's like okay well what's bow knicks against
pressure well why don't you just pressure him every time then you start thinking like should
i pressure him every time especially like they didn't sack him though they didn't sack him at
all in this game and then i have a theory on it but i'm gonna
tee it back up to you this was clearly a like philosophical change at halftime for what they
wanted nicks to look for because it looked like it was like find the one-on-ones and just sling it
and it changed denver's offense and i think some of that too and another thing too was i was the
frustration i would say i had from that the broncos chiefs game in week one was that for better for
worse there's a lot of training wheels in this in the broncos offense right now for the quarterback
line to help them out they are talented offensive line but they do some scheme stuff to help them
out which is good it's good coaching um they wouldn't wouldn't weren't putting nicks on the
move and that was kind of like you kind of have to like you kind of those are floor raises for
this offense they only use put them on the move twice design rollouts is what next gen stats call
it bootleg sprint outs they do this thing called dash pass which is like a bit that big third and
three to jail and waddle that's dash pass and the broncos run that more than anybody else bow knicks
on thursday with matt bonix had more design sprint outs than a or design rollouts than any other
quarterback in the nfl last year and it wasn't even close you know i think stafford was second
and he had like 20 fewer and i don't think anyone else was even close to that so it was but it makes
it easier for the quarterback it cuts off the field and if you have enough juice at receiver
you can find kind of find someone i think i like the six guys when they're healthy if i look at the
receivers depth chart for them and look waddle's really good he's not some of the elite guys that
but you go one through six through denver's depth chart at that position and i'm like i still think
i like little jordan humphrey a little bit i pat bryant that's what that's pat bryant is i love pat
bryant he's a power slot baby big dude you basically do tight end stuff but has enough
juice on the outside uh no and then other things too they uh more qb read plays uh in the run game
um which was effective against the jacks last year when they played so he was keeping it or just you
didn't keep it so i i do think that they just had a good game plan i think they got to it in the
second quarter the first quarter again we saw i mean the first drive is extremely frustrating if
i were a broncos fan nicks checked it down before the deep routes were even like breaking like
usually you check it down once those routes break and then i go oh i gotta check it down now and
he's checking it down before that but didn't think he was pushing it but i agree with you some of the
go ball stuff was they were just taking the one-on-ones hey we have courtland sutton hey we
have juice on the outside let's just try and give them a shot and it works we have guys that are
guys that can win like that and they're physical like that they also draw penalties like the
travis hunter got called for a penalty that led to the jonah coleman touchdown jonah coleman's
awesome by the way like well he's their third running back because dobbins leaves harvey was
inactive for this one so we're talking about a guy getting his first touches it was his first
touchdown and he was a huge part of closing this game out especially when they had to go for a
minute up a touchdown yeah he's a really smart player they i mean they gushed about him all
preseason too at washington super smart he's great protection another thing i was really
frustrated about in week
you're playing spags and you're putting rj harvey and he has your protection back rj harvey's not
good in protection but coleman in college was great and in preseason was great but now i think
they've they found their excuse to play him and and you could see like even the play his last run
he gets the first down and he goes down and that's that's a smart player a rookie just doing that
knowing that and also making sure he gets past the first because he knows if you slide they started
where you start your slide i was like this this is a coach's favorite and that's why you can see
why sean payton is a good player and that's why he's a good player and that's why he's a good
guy and that's why he's a good guy and that's why he's a good guy and that's why he's a good guy and
gushes about him why davis webb gushes about him but like that's i think it's gonna be jonah
coleman's backfield no matter what so um no it's that felt more how i've pictured the broncos this
year and honestly i feel still good about jacks i thought trevor lawrence was great outside that
pick and that was more just right with moss making a great play and trevor lawrence also assuming what
the coverage was he thought it was covered too it was covered too but he thought the corner rally
moss was just gonna sit there in the flat he did what they call to carry is that if you don't have
towards you then you carry that vertical route and you take away that whole shot that trevor
thought he had so it was more just like just like how bo nix's interception was it was like i assumed
this and it wasn't that it didn't play out how i thought in my head so that was just kind of one
of those but i thought trevor was on fire but i thought these were two good teams going at it i
actually my one little worry for the jags was they gave up a lot of pressures their guards gave up
like six quick pressures i think they gave up six quick pressures and the broncos offensive line the
whole game gave up five total
pressures so that's you know that's maybe where my one worry from the jags is in this takeaway
well that's a great point on the matchup there with the denver front because i was kind of like
where are these guys and it's against the jacksonville offensive line which the best
version of it probably still isn't considered any better than average i mean things can change
right but personnel wise nobody was raving about it they thought it was a weak part of this otherwise
afc contending team um i thought that pick from lawrence looked a little second seasonish where
it was like you just kind of got to go with it and i thought that was a good point i thought it was
not lost on that one i think it was on third down because i know the next one in the end so right so
the next one in the end zone i hate it and then it you know davis webb's on the sideline all this
stuff's happening over and over again i just can't imagine that sean payton i mean look there's still
moments where i'm like so sean payton who's pretty good at this stuff thinks bo nicks the guy and you
still don't really like him who's probably right you know i'm like is is there any scenario where
i'm still right about bo nicks and sean payton is wrong because that feels pretty stupid to think
um but the bigger part of this because they look so bad in week one the play calling in that first
half and then the interception where davis webb's like i can't believe you threw the jump ball and
ross tucker who's been awesome these first two weeks by the way on the broadcast you can just
see all the prep oozing out of him he's just like well look if it's jump ball to something in the
back yes i'm sitting here going like i realize this and you're talking about breaking off the
coverage a little bit that led to this kind of crowded situation but davis webb's like you can't
throw that they show them on the sideline and to the
payton and the play calling of all this like the amount of thought that had to go in to go ahead
and then make this decision and then everyone to go oh this isn't going to work uh i i think that
second half is like there's a reason why these really smart offensive people thought that this
would be better for everybody and i don't know what happened at halftime or who talked about
what but it was very clear it was like two entirely different teams yeah on some of the
stuff they were doing it felt like they you know
You know, and this is good.
Yeah, and Sean Payton knows what he's doing.
You could tell, too, he was talking to Webb before plays,
like on the mic.
So maybe he did.
So, you know, just food for thought.
Just food for thought.
I noticed that a couple times they cut in.
But no, a good part, what good coaches do
is they trim their game plan down as the game goes along.
And that's what it felt like the Broncos did.
So what you're mentioning with the go-ball stuff,
what you're mentioning with, I'd say, the run game stuff,
it feels, you know, you start with, I'm making up a number,
you start with 70 plays, really good coaches go,
we're just going to run these 12 in the second half.
And just, I know we put a lot of work in,
but guess what, these are the ones that work.
And I think Payton's one of the best at that.
He has no qualms with, you know, pressing a button over and over.
And I think maybe, you know, has some influence on Davis Webb with that.
But I really do think they leaned into their strengths in this game,
which is like what you want to see for a team that should be contending.
I love how the front showed up in the second half.
And I love what they did with all of these wide receivers.
Okay, this is going to be a thing we're going to jump in to
every week, vibes versus feel, vibes versus film.
It's already messed up the title of it.
I don't even like the word vibes.
I'm pretty sick of it.
But I think it makes sense for what I'm doing.
I'm sitting on the couch.
I know you are crunching everything and looking at the tape.
And then based on your prep with this question,
I threw you last night in preparation for today's episode.
It dawned on me, but I am already aware of where my flaw could be.
I was like, especially in the waddle, pass interference.
And then they also get the penalty after that on unsportsmanlike on Liam Cohen.
So afterwards, you're right, career, Billy, great Bob.
So if Denver's going right to left on your TV screen, the right
sideline is directly into the sun.
And I was wondering, I'm like, does it feel like Denver throws
a lot of those balls up there?
And wouldn't that make sense if their guys were used to it?
And it's the receiver's advantage of like when the ball is supposed to be out, how
deep the route is, all that kind of stuff, if you're the corner that never is dealing
with that and has to turn around and find the ball in the sun, could that be something
that Denver actually prioritizes?
I also immediately caught myself and said, well, how many other stadiums are set up to
like, could this just be the four o'clock Eastern window?
And it's the second half of a Broncos game.
And you're noticing these go routes on the right side of the field in the sun.
And there isn't really any other place that you're just noticing because it's the only
place you would ever notice them.
So I wonder if there is something.
Something to that where Denver thinks is an advantage or you're like, that's just the
tilt of the earth, bro.
What I say immediately, they play in Mountain West.
They're the only ones that play in Mountain Time.
Arizona does a little bit.
But the other thing, too, and there's a little bit of not as open.
So there's that, right?
There's a little bit of a play style thing here happening, too.
And it's just I kind of it was a good question because I kind of I noticed it, too, is Bo
Nix likes to work to the outside.
He's he throws between the numbers at one of the lowest rates.
In the NFL, like since he's entered the league.
So he throws more go balls and stop routes and fades to the outside than anybody else.
Loves throwing slot fades, loves throwing the balls to court.
I mean, we just saw it like it's everything we just talked about.
So it's a little bit of that where because he throws to the outside more than anyone.
And I even looked at the numbers.
He's through vertical routes to the outside on both sides more than anyone else in the NFL.
Starting from last year, I just looked through 2025 in the first two weeks.
So he throws more go balls than anybody else to the outside.
Plus, the sun is over there to the side because of the Mountain West time and all that or mountain time, all that stuff.
So it's a little bit of like, yeah, kind of like a little bit of play style thing and a little bit of the story statement orientation.
But it's I don't know.
Is it?
Well, it's kind of Jerry World's got the sun issue, but that that's an issue for everybody.
That's not a home field advantage.
It's a disadvantage sometimes.
How many times the Cowboys drop it off of that?
But it was a fun idea.
And I kind of realized that, too.
It's like there are a lot of throws in the sun, especially to the right.
But yeah, I think it's just Nick's play style.
Leads to that a little bit.
Yeah, I don't think I've I've just noticed it.
But I immediately realized that you might be noticing it because it's the only place to notice it.
So therefore, it isn't some game plan thing that they do.
Do you know who the leading passer is yardage right now in the NFL?
Is it shock?
It is shock.
I promise I will not do this to you because I don't like when like, oh, yeah, I thought this guy knew his shit.
And I put you on the spot.
But I know you want to spend a little time with the Ravens.
I watched the second half this morning because it wasn't a priority screen yesterday.
And I'll give it to Chuck.
He got the ball out quick.
You know, on the broadcast, they were talking a little bit about like, hey, this vaunted Ravens defense.
And that very well may be the case.
But we were doing the preview stuff.
I'm like, this Ravens team has like a lot of assumptions, like more assumptions with its roster than other Super Bowl contenders in the AFC.
And the lack of pass rush, I think, shows up in that.
The second half on top of Chuck looking like he's been playing for 10 years, getting the ball out.
But then they had to start getting more exotic with Kyle Hamilton.
It's like, look, you're going to be blitzing now because we can't.
And there was a TFL in there.
But other than when they just decided to rush five in a spot where they should be able to just go, hey, they're going to be.
New Orleans did mix it up a little bit better than maybe you would have expected.
And some of the play calling being down a score.
But I think that's a spot where you're kind of wondering, did the Ravens have that closer?
And really, it felt like Hamilton was their only option is closer.
So, you know, again, if there's anything I'm saying that you think is insane, fix it, correct it.
But that's what I saw.
No, I know.
I mean, I'm just looking field wise and stat wise.
I was like, oh, man, Ravens offensively actually was kind of fine with everything.
But they only had they only had one real drive in the fourth quarter.
Like the Saints just had the ball forever in the fourth quarter.
You know, there's a two minute drive at the end.
So they only had one design around the whole fourth quarter.
This is a team built to run when you have Derrick Henry and Lamar.
And they ran it out of shotgun because of your whole understanding.
Enter stuff from week one and everybody talking about it with them.
And the tendency thing, which is why I kind of like said Ravens when we were talking about it before.
I don't know what happened there, but it was like, so, you know, you're just going to.
It was a three and out.
And then it was the interception afterwards.
I mean, they barely ran any plays.
And then even the third and one.
Lamar's launching a ball to Chris Moore.
And you and I, you know, I feel like I'm pretty well versed with football players.
And I was like, who's more?
I had.
I don't know who it was.
Yeah, I was like, too.
A lot of it was one on one.
So you don't want to tell you.
We spent all this time talking about explosives, but he he dials it up.
He's right on him.
It's like, granted, you're running that deep.
So could the wall been out in front of him a little bit more?
The corner played at Kool-Aid was right with them, you know, so like.
But then you're going, what the fuck is the whole point of this under center?
Derrick Henry, Lamar Jackson thing.
If I'm third one, you're not just.
And I thought I thought when he launched it, they're going to go for it on fourth.
And one like that's third.
That's what I thought.
And then they didn't.
That was like a little bit like, you know, I wouldn't say it's a red flag, but I was kind of just like, oh, that was curious.
Like, I that's if you're that aggressive on third one, it's usually because, you know, you have fourth down in your pocket.
You're going to go, you know, we're going to go for it anyways.
But I've always been a believer.
It's like, get a fresh set of downs.
Get the first, you know, not second one.
Launch it third one.
OK, let's just get the first and then we can get a new bite at the apple.
That was curious to me.
Also.
Like you mentioned, and I think the defense right now, their mentor is good.
But the thing is, this is where talent really comes into play is Jawan Johnson.
If you just notice those two big plays he had underneath throws.
Those were third downs.
The Ravens did exactly what they wanted the Saints to do and Tower Shuck to do.
You're going to throw underneath.
This is what the Seahawks and Mike McDonald live off of.
But if you ever notice the Seahawks doing it and it looks like tag team finishers and wrestling when they just tee off on the guys and they only get two yards after a check down.
Jawan Johnson's going for not only just first downs, but huge plays.
Not they don't have that kind of tackling horses and maybe that just well versedness of whatever you want to put it.
They're not like as adept to it as like with the Seahawks are probably will get better as time goes along.
But that was just something that knows to me.
And even Chuck, you mentioned like getting the ball out quick.
He was dicing them up on throws from like like underneath like 10 yards, like zero to 10 yards.
And like he was like, look, I thought he was awesome, man.
He's smart.
He knows what he is.
He is, too.
That's what I like.
I like quarterbacks.
I know what they are good and bad.
Like he knows I can get away with this.
My arm can't get away with this.
Like I can make this guy miss.
I'm going to take a sack.
I'm going to throw the ball away here.
He kind of just knows what he is.
And Kevin Moore can dial him up to like the lobby touchdowns.
A great design.
That's called Trina Chambers had a touchdown.
Actually, I'm the same.
The same one.
Same exact concept.
It's called divide.
But you see it again.
It's a quarters beater because they're putting the safety in a bind.
It's just a post in the corner.
And the safety just gets caught.
And I don't know.
Kevin Moore just does a lot of good stuff.
And Chuck is operate outside of the first half against the Lions.
It's like he's since then.
He's really just seeing it.
And I think he had a miss to a lobby on a third down.
And it's because he got blitzed by Kyle Hamilton.
He's getting pressured.
It's covers zero.
I think it was a blitz.
And because he knows he's about to get heated up even before a lobby is
breaking on his route.
The ball's out and he gives it a chance.
Doesn't get completed, but he gives the he gives the play a chance.
Maybe that's the best way.
I can put.
I was shocked.
And I mean, that's so complimentary.
And Chase Young rocks.
Chase Young's really good.
Chase Young's just really good.
And we kind of forget about him.
Like, well, I mean, it kind of took a while.
So, yeah, I don't blame anybody for getting for forgetting about him.
But his win rate of the last couple of years has been incredible.
I was thinking about him a little bit.
Like, could Clowney have maybe had a better career based on, like,
what you thought he would be when he was coming out?
Yeah.
Right.
But he's so talented.
The reason he's still playing is that his his talent keeps his floor so
much higher.
And I think Chase is similar in the sense
it's like in the beginning you're like well i thought this guy was like going to be a game
wrecker and i know there's some hell stuff and all that kind of stuff like maybe that talent
is keeping him better than you would have ever expected later although look i think he's only
27 i just feel like he hasn't been what's that market i couldn't believe he had bigger market
and everything like because like you mentioned the win rate like his pressure rates have been good
but now he's finishing and it's like and he's been him and ronnie stanley went 12 times they
went one-on-one chase young had four pressures and that that means he dominated like that's a
33 pressure rate against a pretty good left tackle he's older now but pretty good left tackle and
if you're winning all he had three quick pressures the whole game which is again that's dominant
um like so i yeah he's just he's changed where i was like oh he's good he's kind of underrated
now it's like more like no he's just like really good and he's like up there it's not
just underlying numbers nerd stats it's like i test dominance when he gets those one-on-one
opportunities
all right let's do a little rapid fire and then i know you want to talk trinidad
um before we let you go so we got about i don't know see we can see we can do this all in 15
minutes um i was itching what on trinidad yeah oh man i love him i love him i he's i know he's
red flags age size that dude can play quarterback man he hangs in a pocket and fires that fastball
and i love it yeah that that's a dude right there i only could get so high with him
i know i'm jumping the gun go ahead just do it just do it you're in it i know you're in
the pocket i know like i i my process i can only get so high with him like i can only
have him i'm not gonna have him as a top 10 guy on my big board i'm not gonna have probably
even top 20. but if a team takes a chance in him as how he plays right now i even liked
him last year like i had a late second early third round grade him he put his paperwork
in he got what second to fifth round feedback yeah middle round feedback and that's always
they always are safer with what they give you um i'm not gonna have him as a top 10 guy
um uh the league does i had a late second third round grade and i joked that was like
him nussmeyer and simpson it was like three old sec small quarterbacks like take which
one you like but the dude is just he gets it like his the timing is great one two three
ball out he's got a good arm i would even say very good like he's got a lot of juice
on that arm he's a good athlete i wouldn't say he's like the upper echelon but he's good
and he just hangs in the pocket and throws over the middle and why i always bring up
throwing over the middle because throwing over the middle it's like he's got a lot of
time throwing over the middle means anticipation it means you're seeing it and he did it when
big moments red zone third down and on top of it it like just has a great feel for just
and he also has the playmaking ability so again my comparison for him has been jeff
garcia um and but it's like i i can only get so high with the profile because of the age
i'm not going to be just wave it away and bulk is a big thing for me 205 is really that
cutoff i look at um that jane daniels is a great example jg mccarthy are great examples
if you're sub 205 really sub 205 and like not thick like injuries kind of stack up on
you so how what his profile is i he's maxing it out but i it's like if a team ends up taking
a chance on him how he's playing right now at the end of the first round like i totally
get it because the dude's just a baller and actually plays quarterback on top of the playmaking
stuff there you go there we go i actually need to clean up a little on the pierce family
not from elgin glenn allen um played golf with his team and i don't think he's going to be
playing golf with his team he's going to be playing golf with his team he's going to be
playing golf with his dad craig the reason i always reference elgin is van pelt and i
were on the chicago affiliate which was actually a massive pain in our ass because they used
to get mad if we weren't doing enough chicago topics and we're like you know we are on i
think like 400 stations and it's a national show but it was the only affiliate hour we
had and for whatever reason used to get judged based on how you did on that one hour as opposed
to all the other stations so i don't blame chicago for wanting us to do more chicago
stuff but there's always like i think because of that they were like okay how many remotes
did we see in the last year and a half and a half and a half and a half and a half and
we sell like we have one in elgin that no one wants to do waddle the sylvie said no to it
they're like let's get those dopes from bristol to do it so when we showed up i remember waddle
so we were like what are you guys doing to remote tomorrow we're like elgin and they were like what
the fuck dude seriously so then we realized it was like oh they had this package that they had
to stick somebody at so i always think of elgin uh the pierce family not from elgin from glenn ellen
um i believe and so yeah the brother is going to play at purdue this year the other brother
played uh unc for a bit i think he's like on the three on three national team the father
played football at northwestern mother played volleyball so there's your volleyball so we did
a lot of the pierce family all right there's something for everyone when it comes to reese's
when you buy a reese's peanut butter cup you're not just investing in taste you're investing in
certainty
the world of candy because we all know what it's going to taste like and how great it's going to
taste because that is what comes with world recognition in the world of candy um look it's
my go-to my father sent me some of my birthday he knew he knew he's like ryan might not do this i'll
do it for him and then i've got it all over the house right now with these ads we've been reading
but the important thing to remember is the reason it works is that one side knows exactly what the
other side is doing we just got done with week
two of football and you're like does the left tackle know what the left guard is doing well
the best combinations know exactly what to expect of the person right next to him just like chocolate
knows what to expect from peter putter the same as peter butter knows exactly what it's signing up
for when it steps into that chocolate sleeve i don't know that it's brady or moss right now but
burrow to jamar chase feels a lot like the combination and joy of a reese's peanut butter
cup reese's the official candy partner of barstool sports go get reese's wherever you go get reese's
wherever you shop
rapid fire you go first oh all right quick real quick though kyle can we have a nfl sound effect
when we do these rapid fires like the old school espn radio days no i want like a tackle sound i
want that transition yeah like yeah yeah yeah yeah because we made a really long one that was
like 12 seconds long because those saturday shows were six hours so i would just be like let's make
one ever um not many people appreciated it but kyle to-do list you were like inside drill just
tape an inside drill and just like keep it going oklahoma drill and just play it over and over uh
quick hitter how bad is late aaron rogers his career compared to other old quarterback swan
songs because it's looking pretty bad ryan it's looking pretty bad and i a lot of people have
their head in the sand about it and make excuses about oh mike tomlin doesn't it was
telling them to do that mike tomlin was telling them to do that and it's like no
aaron rogers has kind of been very disappointing and even the play he got jacked up on speaking of
jacked up uh they got the strip sack on he uh he he didn't know the protection and he didn't know
how to beat that blitz and why i get frustrated about that is when he was with the jets it was
the same thing he got teed off on when he played the vikings i want to say he played the broncos
and i want to say he played the falcons and those games he got beat by the same blitz since a four
i can get into if you want but what it is that it's a rule breaking blitz and what a quarterback
has to do or a center has to do is change the slide or throw hot off of it and he doesn't do
that and he has like 200 starts and why it's even more frustrating is bo nix did it we have
frustrations with bo nix now he sees the game he pointed the side adjusted jalen waddle in week one
and aaron rogers who has all these dozens and dozens of starts isn't doing that so it's kind
of one of these where i'm like what do you what do you do here aaron rogers right now in 2026 and
mike sando had a note in his pick six column uh this morning whereas if you look at expected
points added for rogers obviously quarterback he's had 18 seasons you look at the first two
week numbers at epa uh this year right now he's at negative 39.3 the second worst first two weeks
of a season for rogers was negative 5.6 so this is as bad as it is um it's even worse okay where
it's too early for this
after a one target zero any other stat tony snell type line here for marvin harrison jr
where would he be tony snell oh poor marvin there's no way this is real like there's no
way and so the question is like where would he be for you personally on most unlikely busts ever
it's i mean if he actually if this trend keeps going which is right it's it's getting there
like so i it was fun when you
you
posed me the question it was i even i was like i had like kind of racked my brain
maybe up there were those a couple of those lines receivers mike williams the usc version
charles rogers like aaron curry do you remember i think there's some stuff with williams and
rogers we were like oh okay well this is why it didn't work out 250 and charles rogers had
injuries and other stuff shouldn't shouldn't have stayed in michigan that long story short
but it would be it'd be up there um i i like i was even just racking names
up like just trying to think like because there's not even there's just moments of detail he can't
finish through contact it like as far as catching the ball and it's not been like oh it's just like
this is a drop i visited the cardinals training camp right after he got drafted or the year he
was a rookie and i'm visiting their training camp because i was kind of like you know interested in
what the cardinals were doing i like their defensive coordinator i thought petzing was
pretty cool and this is when clayton adams was our line coach yada yada and i thought i'm at that
practice and kyler threw him three fade balls and he dropped all three like he got broken up
all three and i was like okay you know yeah rookie week one of camp not seen
But it's just been consistent.
And if you're 6'4", and you can't come down with a ball like that,
all right, then you better be a crafty route runner.
You better be on your P's and Q's.
And he's just kind of not playing like that.
So he would be up there because I thought he was so safe.
Receivers are volatile, but I thought he had such a safe profile.
Remember Robert Gallery, O'Lyman from Iowa?
I can't believe you because this is the first name I thought of last night
when we were texting each other.
The first name I thought of was Robert Gallery,
which I don't think is fair to Robert Gallery.
It's just that I thought that Robert Gallery was going to be
like a first ballot Hall of Famer, Iowa, the whole thing.
And he ended up playing in the league.
I'll give you a guard.
The fact that Chance Wormack was done after like five years
blows my fucking mind.
Yeah, that's another one.
He was disgusting in college.
Yes.
And Mike and also like got himself back into shape.
But I don't know.
Like, yeah, he was a weird one.
What was but Cooper went ahead of him.
So I don't know if like that was the warning that you remember.
Jonathan Cooper, the he was from North Carolina.
But you know, the other safeties I thought of and this guy didn't go high
was Michael Huff.
Oh, Michael Huff.
Great shout is when the Seahawks took.
We were talking about like this was the warning sign when the Seahawks
took Earl Thomas.
Yes.
Yes.
In front of the USC kid, Taylor Mays, Taylor Mays.
And everyone was like, what's Taylor Mays?
This guy's changing the safety position.
And he Pete Carroll coached him at USC and took Earl Thomas over him.
I remember that being like, that's interesting.
That's yeah, that's really interesting, especially with I think it was
his first first rounder Pete Carroll had.
But the guy a year before it was Curry.
Aaron Curry was the year before the Seahawks.
He was supposed to be the safe linebacker from Wake Forest.
Yeah.
Number four overall pick.
And he was out of the league like in four years.
That was that was another one that came to mind for me.
But then.
Yeah.
Then there's like not bust, but underwhelming when you thought they
would be like stars like Peter or Peter work.
Reggie Bush, Michael Crabtree, Sammy Watkins, Mark.
Sammy Watkins is a good one.
Mark Barron was another one.
He was supposed to kind of reinvent the safety position, like all that
stuff.
Those are kind of some of the names came to mind.
Trent Richardson, guys that were kind of like, ah, yeah, the four so
high with these guys and kind of just didn't become.
I can't believe you brought Robert gallery because I'm like, I just don't
think that that's fair because he still played a hundred games and, you
know, he immediately what after three years, I mean, you think you have
a tackle for the rest of, you know, 15 years and you're like, actually
going to play garden is worth here.
But that was always the Mel Kiper thing was like, if you miss on a tackle,
you can just make him a guard and it's like, well, Hey, if we're taking
him with two or three, can I not have to like, that doesn't feel after
him.
Oh yeah.
Larry Fitzgerald.
Phillip burgers, Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow, the second kind of can be
one Roy Williams, D'Angelo hall, big Ben, Jonathan Vilma, Tommy Harris.
Like there's some dudes that got, I mean, you're not gonna take linebacker
two or anything, but that was a loaded class after him.
Glenn Dorsey, I thought was gonna be a lot better, but he played, you know,
but I meant like, it's the same thing as gallery is that, Hey, you guys are
being unfair.
Like this guy played a million seasons and all this stuff.
It's like, no, no, no.
Go back to that pre-draft stuff of like.
Gallery is the cleanest prospect.
So I wasn't even gonna say him cuz I'm like, it's still not fair.
Cuz he's played all these games.
Trent, I think is a good one.
Yeah.
B a M F T R on the Bama message boards back then.
But I talked to somebody who played with him with, um, I forget which stop it was.
I think it was after the Colts had traded for him first.
And yeah, yeah, that was, yeah.
It was like, we had a good grade on him.
Um, yeah.
He's willing to give him up so quickly Browns who need all the talent they can get.
Uh, yeah, I know that the first guy never got him ever in college.
And then when I talked to somebody who played with him, I said, what happened there?
And they go, you know, he wasn't actually like the quickest dude.
There was no like raw speed thing there.
So if he got a little bit heavier, if he just got like a little bit heavier, then that stuff
wasn't going to translate because then he was just gonna be like a target back there.
Cuz he wasn't this make you miss dude at all.
And apparently he did get a little bit more than just a little bit heavier.
All right, Ron, uh, you're up, what's that?
That was another one, Ron Dane.
That was another one.
I kind of thought of too, uh, another quick hitter who had a better draft class, the Browns or the chiefs.
Cuz I'm trying to figure this out because I think both of these teams have, I mean, the Browns have done two in a row, I think.
But the chief, no one drafts better though, than Brett Veach with his back against the wall.
That guy, that guy comes out shooting Manser Delane, Peter Woods, R Mason Thomas.
Like, I, I think he got three true needle moving guys on defense that needed needle moving guys on defense.
And then the Browns Denzel Boston looks like a stud, uh, Casey Concepcion looks a lot of fun.
I thought they nailed the Austin barber pick, um, who was their third rounder.
They bumped him into guard and he's actually looks like their best offensive lineman.
I'm gonna pat myself on the back.
I had a top 50 grade on him.
Uh, but then, and then, uh, Spencer Bono, I don't think he can, uh, hang at tackle, but they're gonna try him, but I think
his best position will end up being on the inside.
Just the lack of length is kind of showing up with the bull rushes, but he doesn't look bad.
Like, it's like, no, you can play.
You just might have some limitations on the outside there.
But like, I think the Browns have now nailed two draft classes in a row.
Harold fan in the last year.
I think Junkin is actually really good.
Penn state tape.
Uh, this, the safety from Toledo who everybody was super hot on too.
But look, I have not, I've not locked in to the secondary tape for the Browns.
First two weeks of the season.
You haven't.
All right.
I haven't.
And, uh, I'll put it on your list.
Uh, here's one, and I think I already know what's going to happen here.
He's going to get the extension, but do you extend, do you extend Jaden Daniels
with the quarterback market number of like north of 60 million a year?
So he had that incredible rookie year.
The fact that the Washington commanders played in the NFC title game 20 months
ago, it seems like the fakest statement ever, but it's real, it happened.
You can look it up.
Um, he played seven games last season and, you know, look, he, he's always seen
it, he's always scared me cause he wants to bail.
And because of his frame, to be fair to him, he was fantastic.
Again, on the ground, he was not hit on the play where he dislocates his elbow.
He gets tangled up with his offensive lineman getting into their set.
And then he falls down, left elbow dislocates Tom Brady shit on the air,
which I actually kind of liked very human moment.
And then he apologized.
But depending on how long this injury takes, we'd be talking about Jaden playing 26 and
maybe like 26.
26 of his first 40 games, maybe that's best case scenario there.
I can't help, but as good as he was at LSU, I'm like, I just, there's something about
the approach, the way he plays the game that I wonder if that rookie year will feel fluky,
but will the rookie year do enough for a Washington franchise that, you know, the
RG three thing was a mess in a bunch of different ways.
The Kirk cousins thing, letting him bounce.
Like when they go, Hey, we spent the money on him or excuse me, we spent the
pick on him.
Let's spend the money on him.
Like, it feels like he probably gets the extension and I'd be scared to death to give
it to him.
Well, and also on top of it, if they do move on from Dan Quinn after this year, like having
him as a, should be a selling point for, if you want to attract a new coach, you know,
and having him, but he's got to change his play style.
He has to, and this is a history of time thing.
Um, he was already an outlier for me.
I wasn't, I had a, you know, borderline what I, it's a first round grade.
Um, but I had him a little lower than like the consensus when he came in.
And he came out just because he was such an outlier with a scramble rate because of his
size and it's a combat sport and people want to wave away size all the time.
And then you see these guys, you know, get hurt all the time.
And when I say two Oh five is usually my threshold because that's where light heavyweights and
heavyweights cut off, um, and combat sports, but he might be a welterweight right now.
And if he wants to, yes, you can win this way.
You can win being undersized.
You just can't take that many hits.
And when he gets pressured and when he's scrambling.
He scrambles, he scrambles to run and he has never been a scramble to throw and this is
good and he hasn't changed his play style at all.
Like from college he had, I mean, it was productive yesterday and he avoided those hits yesterday
and I hate it like while it's happening and it's working the spin move that he had against
Philadelphia in week one.
I'm like, that's insane.
It was a double spin move.
I hate it every time.
I know.
And it's right.
That's the thing.
It's like it, he's chasing the sugar.
Like, it's like, no, no, no.
Like I get it.
Like I know that's a good play.
But again, over time, this isn't going to work.
It just doesn't guys have to throttle it down and coming out of college.
I look back and this is, I look back at my little report on him.
So since 2019, which is far back as I can look in for FBS quarterbacks, no quarterback
scrambled more ever than Jane Danes, 258 scrambles he had in college.
So those are hits that add up to 258 and no one else was above 200.
And over that time period, so it wasn't even again, not even close and then he was just
even lower.
And look, so the rate was 14% and the guys, the other guys that had a higher rate were
a little bit bulkier.
And another thing is I looked is that if he takes a lot of sacks as well, if you're going
to take a lot of sacks, you have to offset it with explosive plays or pushing the football
down the field when he gets pressured or gets that he throws underneath and throws short.
So the math game over time doesn't really add up.
And so he has to change his playing style.
He just does.
I like, it has to be a little bit more of a nickel and dimer.
He has to learn how to play.
He has to learn how to play from the pocket yet and sprinkle in the scrambles like Lamar
long let's create a play like jalen hurts kind of actually like watch jalen hurts on third down he's
like okay it's scramble time a little bit like you know because those are good ways to you know
convert on third and eight and third and ten so he just has to and or he has to drink about 200
grams of protein a day and just bulk up he has to it's just it's just physics and now we got enough
proof of concept last year he got three different injuries on top of the elbow so it wasn't just one
injury that's got it so yeah it was a non-contact thing i think dan quinn's getting crushed unfairly
for it because it was such a freak thing that but again when you're doing it a couple times it's
like man can your body even just hold up in this game i don't like the end of half fourth down
thing but i totally understand being like hey dallas is going to score 30 plus yeah you're
gonna track me you know i wouldn't you can't i don't think you should be critical of it at all
uh all right i let's do one more each here okay i am mine
i think
you got to all mine actually i think those are my three quick hitters but i know what your last one
is um i want to see carly ursae's notes i want to know what these notes are um if i you know
i'm one who takes notes if somebody grabbed one of my legal pads and it just said that
russell westbrook had an absurd outlier usage rate in 2017 line after line after line you'd
be like well your notes are you know this is shining type shit here um
it's
very performative to me i think her announcement is performative to the colts fans that want her
to be the hero for a team that is going through a disappointing run people can say that i'm only
saying it because she's a woman would be total bullshit because boston made fun of robert craft
forever because he brought a stopwatch to a workout like post parcels he started walking
around yeah go look it up i was looking at it again this morning he walked around with a
stopwatch and was manually timing people at workouts he called to bucky jones a press
corner um when he played safety so it was like robert craft once he brought belichick in because
again belichick wasn't gonna let him do this stuff was like whatever you've been doing here and like
that was part of the parcels divorce right the whole if you want me to cook the dinner at least
let me pick out the groceries here a little bit groceries yeah um so i think if she's going to be
on the sideline taking notes which i think is really shitty to do to your employees uh i remember
i worked with a different radio
manager who also sucked tremendously and he decided to come in on a solo show when i was a
fill-in and he sat next to me while i was on the fucking air and took notes about everything that
i was saying he sat next to me in the co-host chair while i'm on air not just to america the
entire world same espn radio.com you know so i'm sitting there completely like no i'm in over my
head i'm trying out not try out but i've been there i'd get a shift i might not get a shift
six weeks and he was sitting there looking at me and then he would actually like if i made a good
point he'd be like okay and if you made a point he didn't like he'd be like and then he would
write something down like colin farrell in season two of true detective talking to his son so i'm
like when i see her do it i want to know what what are you writing down you're right that's it
all right what are you writing down so that we have a better sense of what it is you're actually
evaluating share the notes is it like jackie treehorns drawing and
lubowski that's that's kind of what i think you know it's just that well and also on top of it and
this actually you know talk about big dom and eagles eagles land sorry to bring him up as well
but the team's only you only have so many headsets so like if she wears a headset she's the owner she
can do whatever she wants i get that she takes away a headset from a coach and or somebody else
that could use a headset because there's a limit to how many headsets it's nfl rule because otherwise
her assistants have headsets so that always cracks me up too like when those extra guys get headsets
they name coach dom as a coach so he can wear a headset and be on the sideline as well but i just
think that's curious because also if you're listening to everything like do you actually
know what the play calls are like there's a lot of verbiage and even me who's been around it like
like so she hears a play she's just like hmm like zoro you know like just writing down like like
keywords that's why we need to see the notes i know is she playing bingo like you're just waiting
oh okay trips okay i heard trips there and she's like crossing it off no i i'm right there with
you it's i i hate owners on the sideline it's it's hey you hire these people to to coach and do your
game don't put extra pressure with them being on the sideline i hate when owners come down the
second half it's always been something i hate in the fourth quarter because they want to be part of
the what about the fourth quarter though i think i can i think if you want to come down at the end
of the fourth quarter i think i'm okay with that one i know i arthur blank used to stand in the
back at least right yes yeah arthur yeah and i mean but also i felt like a jinx every time he did
it maybe it was just because the falcons were pretty cursed for a while or still are um hey
i'm like zero zero plays run in the red zone so far hey they're 20 to one to be the number one
pick and i was i was talented i was talented i was like have you guys looked at this quarterback
situation have you looked at their pass rushers i don't know your boy strand got in he did threw
a pick just like brett farve on his first pass the time pick six on his first pass the time he's
incarnate but uh no i know all the fame 2041 that's it baby yeah he just has to go to green
bay he'll replace jordan love in about 10 years all right all right i think that'll do it for the
show good stuff that's for nate tice football 301 yahoo sports talk to you week three
raising canes and as you know if you listen to the pod started by our good friend todd graves
down in baton rouge look if you're ordering canes you already know the move you get the
combo that's four hand-battered chicken fingers golden crinkle cut fries texas toast a side of
cane sauce they stick strictly to high quality chicken finger meals made fresh and cooked to
order pair it with a freshly squeezed lemonade or iced tea and you're set i still have a lemonade
in my fridge right now i just take a little sip on it just remind myself no matter what
happens today this lemonade tastes pretty good i'm um an extra finger guy yeah we'll go two
extras in there a little extra sauce that's my
but if i'm really feeling it i'm telling myself like you you can just sip on lemonade all day
intermittently every hour every 30 minutes it's up to you there's no adult here to tell you that
you can't head to your local raising canes or order on the app raising canes chicken fingers
one love when we get through four weeks of the college football season i'll start doing my top
12 slash 14 um but right now i want to talk about one game look out penn state's 13th in the ap poll
but the game that mattered the game that the entire college football world's eyes were on
was a little saturday down in the grove old miss trying to get revenge against lsu and the
atmosphere i've been to that stadium i've been to a bunch of the stadiums it's something about
the south man i'm just telling you like the atmosphere sticks to you in a way that you have
to get rid of with like two showers um it felt like a roman coliseum where it was like okay like
like all of everything matters and yet at the same time i was like i don't know how much any of this
will matter like for a night it mattered all week in mississippi it matters it certainly matters in
lsu but like this could be an
event where you look back and be like oh that was a huge deal and it might not really even mean
anything and maybe that dawned on me because i was watching kiffin in the tunnel get ready to
come out on the field he's kind of just adjusting his belt getting ready you know we've been booed
like crazy i completely understand i'm not even saying that old miss fans shouldn't hate the guy
but i wondered if kiffin really cared or if he's even capable of caring because people can say
like well i want to try to never care what people think we're like never you never do
i don't think never is the approach but there are times where i admire someone who literally just
doesn't care and for kiffin as i'm watching him like will any of this like all of this
bullshit all the stuff that we've talked about for a year here does any of this really matter
not to be a nihilist about the whole thing although i wonder if kiffin is at times
because kiffin despite how gross this exit was his team heading into the playoffs and being like
you're gonna do this now he did it because the lsu job's a better job everybody knows it it's a better
job
and he wanted the better job it's a job that he's wanted for years despite his success at old miss
and lsu was happy to welcome him in and we'll see right but this sport of college football
that if you really want to be negative about it is an impossibly gross sport right like nothing
is sacred anymore and you have coaches demanding
sacrifice
from players the same sacrifice that almost none of these coaches that ever make now now they're
going to say well hey i was sleeping on a couch as a grad assistant so now it's your time to suffer
which happens in a lot of different industries right but that coach to player the promise you're
going to do this you're going to be that you have to do this for the betterment of the team you have
to do all these things it's like peace i'm out of here um it's a sport that doesn't care about allies
the alliance between the big 10
and the pac-12 uh just one of many things i could reference here um it doesn't care about tradition
it doesn't care about any of this stuff anymore all right because the goal is every single last
television doll you know we hear nfl players somehow attempt to be profound and really pro
athletes do this in general where they're sitting there on the couch doing a podcast
they're like well you know it's a business like no shit i've only heard it a thousand
Well, if the NFL is a business,
Then college football is organized crime, and the SEC is the Sicilian stuff that Henry Hill references in Goodfellas.
But for a night, it felt like it was a win for righteousness because Ole Miss beating LSU was the right thing.
It was the right thing considering this story, and I'm happy for Ole Miss.
They should have won.
Everyone that was neutral should have been rooting for Ole Miss, and they answered.
Because, you know, on a Saturday of watching quarterbacks, and I know I will always like Saturday more than Sunday.
However, when somebody who loves Sunday, and it's not just like, you know, hey, I've got a fantasy team, and I bought a jersey and that kind of stuff.
I'm talking like the guys that are really into it.
Like, why would you like that version of the sport better than this version of the sport?
Because I'll admit, and it kind of happened to me yesterday or Saturday.
You're watching the college quarterback.
He looks.
He looks to the sideline helpless.
I don't even think they, I don't know what's happening in the development of the quarterback thing.
Not that there's now more bust than there used to be because I've already covered that.
But the training wheels that these, these offensive coaches will not take off of some of these quarterbacks.
It's actually making them worse.
Like, okay, the reads will be easier, but you're actually going to be worse at this stuff.
So whether it's a quarterback dropping back with all this physical talent where he only wants to run, or he looks at one receiver,
or he throws a fucking screen.
That you're like, are you trying to end your teammates career?
Like you can't, you can't drop back and then go, oh no, he's going to get killed.
If I throw him this bubble screen, it's like, no man, that's the call one read and get the ball out.
I was, I was thrilled to watch Carson Wentz throw it in the dirt in front of a running back.
That was going to get killed on a screen that got blown up.
Like the defense just had a great call in Wentz dropped back.
He was like, this isn't even going to work.
And he threw it like three yards in front of his running back.
I'm like, my God, that was great.
And then on Saturday night, you get to watch Trinidad shambles, who is not any of those things that I talk about as much as I love Saturday and how frustrated I get with the quarterback position because he doesn't do any of those things.
He drops back.
He makes reads.
And yes, I know he's old, but it's not like he was in a power four program the entire time.
I mean, this guy's story is incredible.
He's the best quarterback in college football right now.
I don't know if that means he's going to be the highest draft pick out of those guys.
And right now I don't care about that because watching him.
How about this?
Honestly,
first eight third down throws.
He was eight for eight.
I knew that Ole Miss had the better quarterback.
I knew they had the better running back, even though Lacey left the game.
I know that they had the better number one all the receiver, even though Ray ended up kind of being the star over Deuce.
But I didn't think Ole Miss was going to win the line of scrimmage.
And they kicked LSU's ass in the first half, whether it was all line issues for LSU or the defensive line, which is loaded.
That front seven for LSU should be a real weapon for them.
And in the first half, it was generally neutralized and whether it was great protection or Chambliss knowing what he could or couldn't do on every single drop back and throwing it into windows that you just don't expect.
And him responding, they go up 17, nothing, right?
LSU puts together a really nice drive.
I'm like, all right, well, they're still hanging around.
Like we just watched Texas come back against Ohio state.
Like this thing has gone bad, but it's not impossible.
And then what does Chambliss do?
He responds immediately in the second half.
LSU figured out some stuff on defense.
Levitt made some plays, even though I had his unofficial count of 11 bails on my notes.
You may have a different count.
It drives me crazy because he's really good at it, but I'm talking not design QB runs.
I'm not talking extending the play.
I'm talking Levitt early in that game just was bailing on pockets all over the place.
It's just something that he's going to do because so often it kind of works out for him, but it didn't work out certainly in the first half.
So.
LSU gets back in this game, they tie this thing up and then it's like, okay, the it factor that you talk about that none of us really know how to perfectly define with words, but we know exactly what we're talking about it when we watch it on TV.
And it's like, what did you think was going to happen?
Even when LSU tied it up, I'm like, I don't know.
I still imagine Chambliss is going to figure this thing out.
It was right back down the field.
And then when he runs it around everybody, you know, I was, I was really curious to see what the LSU sideline was going to be like, if there were some sort of contain that was broken, which it sort of was.
But if it was just a mix up and.
Kiffin just kind of nodded in a way that told me, he's like, nope, turn to that.
Like, I'm the guy that brought him here.
Like, this is the guy that I coached.
And that's not very surprising that he made another play this time with his legs when his team needed him to respond.
So on Saturday night, it felt like a win for what's right.
It's, it's good that Ole Miss beat Lane Kiffin when he left them the way that he did.
You know, that's something that we should all be rooting for.
Especially for a sport that's so often flaunts and it doesn't care about right and wrong.

So, now you know what's possible.

Life advice.
Lifeadvicerr at gmail.com.
Kyle is here.
Very happy.
Back in the winner's column.
Yeah, man.
That must have felt good.
Nothing like a little Aaron Rodgers to make me feel better.
Ooh, I thought he was dead for a second.
I'm glad he's okay.
I know.
I thought he was.
No one will ever question that dude's toughness.
My gosh.
No.
He even talked about it, too.
I don't know if he was throwing dudes under the bus there, but he was just like, you know,
usually you get a feeling, you know, when one of those happens, but clearly some miscommunication on that one.
I was like, oh, man.
I did go watch for that moment to see what he was going to say, and I thought for the most part,
like, he was pretty diplomatic about it, even though historically he's usually never afraid.
Usually he was so nasty that it likely was everyone else's fault.
But yeah, he's here, too.
How about your Niners?
I'm a big Niners fan.
I've just become, you know, I don't know.
The NFL has been the light that my love of like a specific team has been sucked out of me.
I just I'm here.
Really?
Dude.
Yeah.
Well, I don't know.
It didn't work for the magic.
I don't know why.
Like, I still love the magic.
Because they've been bad for so it's not like I don't take a badge of honor for you.
I'm just waiting for something good to happen.
But the Niner thing.
Yeah.
Like, I don't know.
I'm trying to think the last time I was like really into a Niners game was years and years
and years ago.
So it was a Kaepernick.
That Super Bowl was a was a bummer for me.
That was.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was out.
Can't support that stuff.
Now, I ran into somebody the other night that told me they don't watch anymore.
I was like, oh, shit.
People are doing that.
Oh, there you go.
There's a few.
I mean, it's a friend.
So and I kind of know who's deal.
So I was kind of like, yeah, no, I get it.
And I just kind of let it.
I was like, I don't already follow ups because Kaepernick did the 10 year run.
And we still we have the street going at nine straight years of like week seven, week eight
when there's a backup in that stinks.
And then somebody who's a legitimate media member does like this guy's playing.
But Kaepernick can't.
And you're like, it's been 10 years, man.
That's still kind of hits, though.
It does.
It does really well.
I just like to I just don't know how much longer we can go.
Like, I probably figured after six or seven years, it wouldn't keep happening.
And it does.
And it will.
Somebody somebody will say it earnestly.
And people will be like, yeah, great point.
I mean, he did the whole sit down because it was the 10 year thing.
And he was like, I'm still training.
I'm still ready.
Yeah.
Why doesn't why doesn't the anchor go?
Hey, man.
Really?
It's been a decade.
Wow.
I think I know your answer.
But yeah, no, that's fine.
That's who they're talking.
Anyway.
Yeah.
Anyway.
But now it's a bummer.
It's it's.
Yeah.
So.
I mean, I don't root against the Niners.
The problem is, like, I love Stafford so much.
Like, again, I'm going to get crucified for this.
But like, I love Stafford so much.
I was such a Stafford stan for like the longest time that like I root for him kind of personally.
And it was cool.
We had him on the show.
And that goes against everything like fandom should be.
Right.
I shouldn't be rooting for a team in the own division.
So I'm just talking to myself.
I'm digging my own grave here.
But if you're being honest and we appreciate that, I'm thinking about going to the game
tonight.
Yeah.
Our bottom.
Maybe.
Which one, though?
I will say that text thread, though, that you put.
I mean.
You texted us yesterday about Rogers, whatever.
And then you immediately brought back the shirtless photo.
And just it put me off.
I'm going to be honest.
I just didn't respond.
I was just like, I'm good.
We're also a little busy yesterday.
We did do Vassini's first show.
So go and check that out.
Yeah.
But I did see the text.
And then I didn't want to discourage, you know, texting is good, you know, for this
group.
I don't want to discourage anything.
So I, too, left it alone.
But I was busy.
All right.
I'm going to share this.
I've been doing this for a long time.
I've been texting Shane Gillis, like, once every six months, just pictures of myself
doing things.
And I don't think we're friends.
okay and i think it's the funniest thing and i don't i don't think he does and i'm i'm probably
going to do it every six to eight months just randomly and i laugh every time i do it and i
don't think he does is there a line that you don't cross like will you send him the one that you sent
us or are you like no dude that's circle of trust probably not that one probably not that so there
is a line somewhere all right probably not that one do you think um his number your contact is
safe in his phone dude that would be weird if you're not but that would be crazy because it
would have i didn't realize how insulting that was to people but it is because i'm i'm the king of
that yeah yeah i got i got family that i'm doing that too right now i mean i'm slowly slowly working
through the group chats and be like who is this but ryan saves like four numbers and he'll text
me with somebody like blatantly obvious that we are like friends with he's like who's this like
this so-and-so how do you
not how how is your life easier by not saving this number keeping you on your toes state of mind dude
yeah it's a lifestyle really uh i also do need to shave uh every day in the last week i'm like you
gotta you gotta move on from whatever this is stepdad is your stepdad the guy with the camaro
in town um whatever's going on here that just made me realize has there ever been a car that
you've wanted that you still kind of want to have a car that you want to have a car that you want to
have a car that you still kind of want but you feel like you've grown out of a little bit
grown out of i don't think so see that's even a better answer a shitty rusty jeep i don't know
does anyone grow out of those like i don't know you ever drive one on the highway for a few hours
yes i get over it pretty quick it was a liberty though you know i wasn't proud of that one but
yeah the the cherokee like a nice old one boxy heavy doors yeah i don't think the wagon here
i haven't really thought about the wagon here i've got a very specific one you know two two colorways
maybe that burgundy or that that forest green with the gold stripe on it that's still pretty
high up there for me so the grand cherokee the 90s grand cherokee yeah that's my first car
it was a hot car back some guys get all the white white 94 that thing i told i told the story eight
miles to the gallon i did cash for clunkers i got like eight grand for that car shout out to obama
and uh never look back great investment
it's crazy man yeah just stop watching the nfl because of kaepernick and now you're
shitting on it you can't figure me out yeah i can't what do we do with this guy
all right let's read some emails uh skipping my girlfriend's family member's funeral
sounds like a good start gentlemen i'm at a loss in this situation and very interested in receiving
your opinions on the matter as i expect some differing beliefs on this one my girlfriend
and i are going to my friend's wedding uh we live well i'm not going to give many locations away
let's just say it's a cross-country trip and since we've both had an insanely busy work year weddings
uh and life in general we decided to turn the wedding into a mini vacation stay thursday through
monday that makes sense the wedding's on a saturday which leaves us all friday and sunday
to do our thing then my girlfriend finds out that her mom's cousin or something along the line
what a great read by you or something like
just gonna tell our guy maybe to clean up the messaging perhaps but look he's talking to his
figure out the lineages before you show up if you do yeah something i don't think it was a divorce
and i'm not even sure all right uh is having a funeral back home on that sunday so that's why
i was providing locations i just don't like to give too much away here but i think everybody's
able to follow along the place they're living flying cross-country
hang out this other place get a couple extra days except this person or someone uh apparently
has died and it's going to be a funeral yeah i don't i'm not trying to be funny about it but
all right um she informs me via text and i ask quote are you feeling like you don't want to go
to the wedding anymore or how are you feeling she simply promptly responds i feel like you don't
want me to come i measure uh reassure her that
obviously i want her there but i do feel guilt for dragging her to three weddings this summer
and then this one across the country so i do want to grant her an out if needed next day we're having
lunch she starts talking about 5 a.m flights out of the wedding destination on that sunday after
the wedding so that would get her back to the other coast it's around 11 a.m for a 2 p.m funeral
so they'd be going east to west boy that's a tough one though and then she asks if i have
travel insurance and whether i think we should change our flights i'm thinking wait our flights
uh which i guess she could read from my facial reaction she then asks what you don't want to go
to the service where i then say of course i do it just sounds like a brutal day you're not wrong
it's a no-win situation here this is tough because you're through you're dragging her to three
weddings that you know we know how dudes feel about number four plus when you know you know
how dudes feel about plus ones and they're like this has to be for real so like you know basically
cemented as something that's going to happen next year so i'm going to ask her to go to the
important things so continue here's the issue i didn't even consider that i would be going to
this funeral i've never met her mom's cousin my girlfriend has barely ever mentioned her prior
her passing i completely understand my girlfriend wants me there under normal circumstances i would
be there no questions asked but am i actually expected to take a 5 a.m flight across the
country to attend the funeral of someone i've never met the morning after a wedding and cutting
our mini vacation short is there a reasonable middle ground here i can propose
or do i have to chalk this one up to the game it's a bummer because you're not going to score
many points for going but you could totally just lose i mean you're hemorrhaging points by by not
you know like oh yeah he's actually still at the b&b he'll be along tomorrow because the other
thing is you're going home right this is home this isn't like yeah he couldn't make it to chicago
you know he's got something going on it's like he just didn't want didn't want to be bothered
and i'd say you know i'm not going to go home i'm not going to go home i'm not going to go home
if you're going to be in it for the long haul like yeah it's not about the person who passed
funerals are usually for everyone else unfortunately that's just the rule so um you know i wouldn't try
to rationalize your way out of it if you're not going you know i guess respected but i don't
think i would have the stomach to do it i think i just lose the vacation this is kind of part of
being in a family if you're if you're headed that way this is kind of the type of shit you're going
to have to do right this is uh i think most people neutrals would read this and go you're not you're
not in the wrong
i think we all agree that yeah he's not wrong to go what go ahead but it kind of all hinges on
how the other person's taking the situation and she's clearly taking it very seriously
and doesn't think there's any like outs for you so there's just no outs for you i think this is
just going to have to be the situation um it sucks i think everyone would tell you it sucks but
like it's really not worth like you you can't come across as like the guy who
pooh-poohs a funeral like it just can't be your thing like in general tough so yeah even though
again i support he's never there for me after a death yeah but he's a great earner you don't get
a lot of those chances to like show up for someone you know so right so fortunately yeah this is uh
this is an l yeah i mean this really depends on her too like some guys are out there with just
the most chill significant other ever yeah and
if this wedding is super important to our guy emailing here it's like okay well you're going
to the wedding like i don't want to disrupt that so like maybe you go solo or i'll just deal with
this or whatever but the fact that it's a cross-country flight and a great point by kyle
you're going back to where you live there's not really any out and reading this email
i get a sense that i'm not saying like i'm not being critical of her but i'll never forget like
there was somebody in my past where i went on a trip
and they just said well wait you just you just go where you want whenever you want to
and i was like yeah what the fuck that's the program yeah what what did you think this
like what were you because again the person was working non-stop we had no plans i bolted for
three and a half days for a golf trip and then it was it was very very early and i was just like oh
to you know wherever i went and they were like wait you just you just do that like not very often
but yeah i had a window it was super important to me it was kind of this special thing and
yeah and i'll be i'll be back saturday night or sunday whenever i came back or something like that
it's like it's not we're you know i'll see you in four dates it's not going to be that big of a deal
and it made me realize i'm like oh it's not even about what this is it's kind of like a bit of a
warning and i think there's two things here um that concern me about why you're definitely going
to have to do this is that if she's dropping uh you don't even want me to go that's a to the wedding
bummer yeah um vibe assassin right there that is crazy because again it is a good gesture by you
like it is a good gesture to be like hey there's a lot going on if you don't want to go like i'm
yeah that is everyone will be fine a nice thing but it could it could also go the wrong way
depending on how you handle it i probably would have done the same thing he did but like well
listen
Like I'm cementing that I'm going to this thing, you know, tickets, hotel rooms, gifts bought and paid for.
But yeah, I would give the out and I would be dealing with the same, do you want me to go sort of deal.
Because if this is a direct route from, are you feeling like you don't want to go to the wedding anymore or how are you feeling?
And then she goes, I feel like you don't want me to come.
We only have what you're sharing from, but if that took less than a second to get that response after you just being like, hey, how are you feeling?
Like, do you not want to go?
I'm not saying that she sounds difficult or needy or anything like that, because again, I don't want like someone just died.
So you have to be there for her, even if it's an inconvenience to you.
So you're going to that funeral, man.
So like, there's that.
So we could just kind of put that one to bed.
But that scares me a little bit.
If she's taking the express, the commuter lane to, well, you don't want me to go now.
And it's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait.
Like, all I'm asking is if you don't feel like you're up to it with everything that's going on.
So if you go to the wedding, your Sunday's going to be pretty tough.
But not as, you know, there's a lot.
Not as tough of the rest of the week if you don't go to the funeral.
I mean, I'm afraid you've done damage here based on her grading system.
And, you know, you're going to go to the wedding.
You're.
You're going to be great.
You're going to get up.
You're going to go back.
You're going to go to the funeral.
You're going to do everything that she possibly wanted you to do.
And then Sunday night's going to be like, I really don't like how these past few days have gone.
And you're just going to go, you know, luckily this weekend just for a par.
It's like, really?
That's par?
Yeah.
Damn.
I could have sworn I was shooting birdie there.
We got an update from the guy that was wondering if he broke into a girl's apartment.
Yes.
It went well.
I don't know about him.
We've been on more dates.
And both made.
Some breaking in jokes.
I didn't lock the door because I wasn't sure if she had a key.
The vase was a quick find.
It was just drying on the counter so I didn't have to rummage.
I grew up in a house that my friends would be watching games in my basement before I got home without telling me.
So it didn't quite register until it was too late for me.
LOL.
But we're all good now.
Here's her immediate response.
Oh, my God.
All caps.
That's good.
I just got home.
You completely made my day.
Thank you so much for the flowers and pretzels.
They were.
Pretzels from Trader Joe's.
Just so everybody knows now.
I'm so giddy.
R.N.
That's a good sign.
I'm a ignore.
That fact that you broke into my house, but no, seriously, the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for you has ever done for me.
Thank you.
We'll leave out his name.
Heart emojis.
We got a response.
Pick attach below.
I think I dodged a bullet, so I think he's good.
Yeah, me too.
Best case scenario.
The jokes are a great sign.
Great.
Great move.
Something tells me she wouldn't make you go to the funeral, man.
She's a keeper.
Yeah.
Come on.
Don't bum this guy out any more than he is.
All right.
We covered that one.
Sometimes I get lost in all of it.
All right.
Hair one.
This one's directed just at me, I guess.
Ryan.
5'8", 150, mountain athlete in the roaring Fork Valley.
Working.
Well, I think he wants us to leave that out, but I've been to where he lives and works, and it's an awesome part of the country.
We're outdoor pursuit, ski, bike, run, fish are much more enjoyable than the gym.
It's been a few years since I decided to take the hair down, but now I find myself in hair purgatory.
After coming to grips, the hair was not coming back.
I clipped on the number one guard.
And took it down.
For a while, it didn't look too bad.
I would even have the delusional thoughts I could grow this out.
That's a wild time.
I remember my sister was like, I don't grow back.
I'm like, what are you talking about?
Does it?
Like, imagine the talk show circuit you'd be on and be like, yeah, I just kind of grew back.
Yeah, it's like the dudes.
I remember the dudes in, like, in high school who were, like, trying to figure out the beard situation.
They'd be like, yeah, if you just shave it a bunch of times, it just grows back thicker.
And you're like, oh, yeah.
So we just had dudes shaving.
And, like, every hour, like, you're trying to get that thing down.
There's still some people that, like, stick to that, you know?
I wish.
There's a chest hair thing that I think is true with that one.
It is not true.
It's debunked.
I've actually looked into this.
Yeah, it just grows back.
Like, it feels thicker because it's like a stub.
So it grows back.
It's thick.
It's a thick piece of hair that's growing instead of, like, the end tip kind of thing.
I don't know.
Science.
It's just not going to take your word for it.
Do your own research, folks.
I didn't think I was going to be a chest hair guy.
But I think I shaved it when I was young.
And here we are.
And I got to cycle in and out of this Tom Selleck world.
Like, sometimes it's hot.
Sometimes it isn't.
So I don't know what to do.
As time passes, the two-car garage starts to look a little empty.
And I moved on to a stage two with no guard, metal clippers to skin.
But now I find myself staring at a charred landscape.
After a wildfire with a few sprigs of hair remaining, I can't bring myself to take a
razor to the entire head.
And my work life provides cover with a hard hat.
So daily life isn't so bad.
At least you're not on TV with a jib cam floating behind you.
It's the occasional social engagement where the 5'8 height couple with some random hair
sprouts.
I find myself contemplating a self-induced tonsure with Halloween coming up.
Maybe I can test the waters as a friar.
Man, that is leaning into it, if you were going to go friar tuck on that one.
Uh, man, look, I think you've already kind of like done a great job to this point.
You know, I don't, when I see guys hanging on for a little bit and people give them a
hard time, I'm like, let them fucking be, man.
They're on their own journey right now.
You know, it's already going to be bad.
It's already been bad.
And you're fucking rooting against the guy.
Yeah.
Like, stop it.
And that's what I felt.
So people were so happy.
First college reunion.
They're like, fuck, ah, we're so sucks.
Like, if there's ever anyone deserve this, it's him.
So then I'm just looking around being like, all you guys are going to be better off with
this.
Like, isn't it kind of funny though?
Like, I feel like, like, and I haven't gone through this, but how amazing I am now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, I remember seeing you for the first time and it blew my mind.
And then I was just like, now I'm like, man, I see pictures of your hair.
And I'm like, that's weird.
So, but, but I will say, and I think this, you could probably agree to this is that you
just, when you're going through something like this and it could be a hair thing, it
could be like a big old pimple on your face or you just, you just think every single person
you come in contact.
It's not the same.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I'm not saying I'm not.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Let me finish my point.
You just think that every single person is like, look at how stupid that person looks.
Yeah.
Most of the time it's actually not that way, but you're in your own head.
Now, listen, your friend group and your immediate people, like they know, cause they take, they
just, they just, they see the changes, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
All the time.
But it is crazy how your brain just immediately like, like, or if you like anything, like
you say something like maybe you make a joke in a meeting.
Yeah.
You make a joke in a meeting.
You didn't go well.
And you just think about the rest of the day and nobody else thinks about that.
That's kind of like, that's, it, it just kind of funny how that works.
I think about when managers bad jokes all the time and I want them to know that I'm not
doing it.
Well, they were exceptionally bad.
I would, I would assume that was probably the case.
Yes.
I think you're doing great, man.
Seriously.
Um, this isn't some support group thing here, but I would tell you like when you first start
going to the metal shaver, you have to like almost give it an hour and getting some direct
light and look at all the stuff that you missed.
Okay.
And you can do this, but you'll notice like, and then it's up to you, like how often you
want to do it.
Like, I don't, I don't have to go to an office or anything like that.
I remember I was like a one.
And then I'd give it a couple of weeks.
And I remember Stanford Steve being like, did you decide to go grow it out?
Like, what are you doing?
And I'm like, Hey man, it's early for me.
Like I'm at home doing this by myself.
Like this is tough.
And when you start crying and the hairs get stuck to your face, like it's an even more
so I, I think you're going to be happier, the cleaner that you get it to.
And if you want to leave a little something on the sides, you know, go for it.
The razor thing.
I just don't feel like the maintenance of the razor thing personally.
I just don't feel like doing it.
So
is it so much that like, how often would you say it's required?
Like, could you still make a day of it?
Go like have a barber, clearing your, clean your beard up and just do the, you know, make
it exactly.
Or would that just be way too much time in the barbershop?
How long is it?
I don't go to the barbershop that often.
I usually just do it at home.
I should go to the barbershop instead because they clean it all up.
You know, the next stuff that you're doing blind.
Get a little eucalyptus hot towel on the face, you know, that's a nice thing.
Yeah.
I inhale those things.
At Equinox.
The cold ones.
Right in my face.
I haven't seen you in a bit.
Do you blend the beard in, into the baldness or is it just like a hard stop?
I don't really know what I'm doing, man.
Okay.
Yeah.
I mean, I kind of just go like up to the sides, but in the blending, there's no blending going
on.
Nah, it's just a hard line.
There's not at home.
Yeah.
I'm not at home.
There's not.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Even if I go like when I was in France and I, I went to this woman cause I was like,
all right, I don't feel like the number of Clippers that I bought, cause I'm like, this
will still be cheaper.
than if you're just gone for a while
and then you go into some place and she's like what do you i'm like just get it over with is
what we want you to do here ma'am you can see what i need to get back to so let's just get there
all right i think we answered it sort of no i don't feel like leaving any is the move though
right like you don't want to start looking like like jason alexander here which by the way like
you look back in like the 90s and stuff like people were just were they just afraid to be
bald like they just they were just afraid to be bald i think like they would just leave the
horseshoe thing around and you're like how is that a better option the horseshoe thing's sort
of crazy i'll i'll give you that one but it was it was kind of accepted for a little while and i
think there's just some people it's like i don't want to not have any like on a you know nypd blue
just run the fingers through it yeah and i couldn't blame anyone for having that stance i think
so same you guys
you guys
you guys
i'm just saying no i'm just saying if it if that's if you're in this predicament and you're
like yeah i don't want it to be all right if i wouldn't be like you're crazy i'd be like
if ryan grew out the horseshoe you'd be like yeah it's not good for you dude
i would i'm tempted to just do it for the the fuckery of it just to go i think we've had enough
of that with the uh the food man shoe we got to take a break here on the handlebar hey let's just
try this for a little bit i don't people always are kind of like what are you doing like i do it
like once a year this feels long though i don't remember it being this long like i mean like the
length of time you've had it for this is laziness you're proving something to booger oh no you're
just okay no i thought because you mentioned it you're like all right i just bought myself
another week like no just start all over again and do it tomorrow i might now that we're talking
about it so hell yeah because the problem is i have to like let it the rest come back in before
i go back to the whole thing this isn't the best life advice we've ever done i'll tell you that
all right uh
my wife babysat for free hey guys six five by the way that's not a knock on you that was a very
aaron rogers thing i'm talking about myself here um six five one eighty no notable gym stats player
comp evan mobley can shoot a three but better off down low and defense using my athleticism
this guy's a real athlete uh i'm emailing because on saturday night my wife babysat for a little
cousins from 5 30 till midnight this is not an emergency
they were just hanging out with friends when my wife's aunt got back they had some small talk
until she ended the conversation with a thanks so much as my wife left there was no agreement to
being paid before feels like with that sort of commitment before being paid is just a common
courtesy right for context we got married about two months ago and her aunt offered to make our
wedding cake as a wedding gift this is a very nice gesture and we offered to pay her but she refused
uh this was simply their wedding present to us
is it wrong for her to feel taken advantage of when it is family despite it being the correct
thing to do to pay her was she misled into devoting a saturday night to a job she was
not going to get paid for i suggested sending her on a venmo request no yeah unless your wife is 16
she shouldn't be paid for fucking babysitting i don't think this is crazy this is crazy this is
worse than the dude giving away his stuff from the registry like what are you what are you doing
charging your family
i have one more sentence than saruti before george i'm i mean i i mean who knows maybe i'm wrong again
i'll get yelled this is just his italian sensibilities flaring up i love it um but is
this worse than what she did meaning sending the venmo request would that be worse than what she
did it's not about the money for us it's just common courtesy and being generous with each
other especially for family let us know your thoughts love the show sorry wait worse than
what she did saying what making a wedding cake instead of giving you a gift no that's full of
i suggested sending her on a venmo request but is this worse than what she did which is tricking her
i guess his wife into hanging out with her kids that she likes and she's considering it family
time it doesn't even sound like she thought that she was doing like a favor right so that would be
silly just because on the back end you found out somebody really appreciated that i don't know i i
i wouldn't dig too deep into this one i mean she might have duped you
i don't know i guess how does your how does the how does your wife feel about this you seem to be
the one worked up i've never heard anything from her about whether or not she feels like she was
in this situation i don't know man like obviously yeah like it's annoying if this was kind of like
not expected you just had to stay and watch these kids for a while but like that's kind of a family
thing i don't know and then like just say this isn't gonna happen i can't like this isn't like
something that's antenna thing yeah but like a one-off to be like hey man i watched your
niece and nephews like come on antenna's up cut i think you're right
about this okay is this the deal i mean is it happening all the time i remember getting
tricked into some stuff where it'd be like parents would drop their kids off and then
i'm like what's going on here like i got enough responsibilities with all my siblings
now i'm in charge because i was a nice younger kid i'm like what the fuck is going on here um
there's another time where like i ended up bartending at something and i was like well
how did this happen um and then you were just kind of no no no i'm talking about like i was a kid i
was like 14 or something like pouring wine and champagne and then i was like oh this is because
they didn't want to pay anybody so the point that i'm making here is like your antenna's up thing is
perfect but i'm with sir rudy on this one first of all the venmo request is insane okay like do
you want to start like if this is you should be asking your wife like what's the scouting report
the wedding cake thing makes you feel a little
bit like all right they're always trying to figure out different angles on money
and if if she was like tricked to your point then just don't ever do it again but i think
to sir rudy's greater point is like you can't just hang out with like a bunch of younger kids
in your family for the night you know wouldn't you want to offer to do something like that
for somebody that you cared about that was in your family and you get to hang out with some kids if
especially if you don't have any of your own that would be like an awesome thing to be able to do
for a night i would think if you obviously like
kids so uh i would hold off on the venmo thing i wouldn't i wouldn't even do i wouldn't even
consider it yeah i mean i i started making jokes like if this actually happened you went through
this i'd be like every time i'd hang out with you if i was the family i'd be like hey here's a fiber
thanks for hanging out with us today you know like this is that's insanity that is insane i get
do we all get his point though yes he's bringing up the wedding cake of like this might be
this kind of maybe they're schemers yeah right but like hey man i don't know that's i think
antenna's up guys
that's all they need to be said full episodes available on netflix thanks to tom kevin saruti
