This is an "I Heart" podcast, guaranteed human. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait 4 hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pignero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Listen to Solita on the I Heart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're a bookshelf and you're a 4u page or equally important to your personality, welcome home. Pro society is a weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for anyone who thinks pride and prejudice and love island deserve the same level of discourse. Each week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and pop culture. With your favorite writers, book talk creators, and plenty of over thought opinions. Yeah, I'm obsessed, I'm obsessed. Listen to pro society on the I Heart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I survived 9 months in captivity and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the I Heart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Look, man. Oh, oh, I see you, man. Oh, my. Oh, oh, and look over there. How is that culture? Yeah, isn't it? Wow. Love's culture, these days. Ding dong, lost culture, these days calling live from Hollywood, live from. Street. Well, we should cut that out. We shouldn't give, we shouldn't give an address. We shouldn't, well, we are, it's because if you said the street, it's one of those streets that's so small in L.A. Where if you said the street, everyone would know exactly where to come. And it seems like everyone does. There's only one thing on the street. There's a million people on this fucking street every time I come here. You don't have to use fresh language. We're catching a vibe today. We said this was going to be the vibes episode. This is the vibes episode. And for that reason, we are wearing sunglasses for parts for important parts to punctuate the conversation. I do think it's a lot brighter in here than usual. Yeah. Oh, God. We know we had an accompanist in high school. His name was Robert Lowe. Like Rob Lowe. And he was this, I don't know, we'll call him a cool cap. He would clearly come in, hung over. Oh, so H.O. And he would wear sunglasses, stroll in at 3.30 p.m. on a Tuesday. And then we'd be running our, you know, our scales on stage. And then there was just one day I'll never forget it. Here goes. God, we just turn these lights down while wearing sunglasses. Robert, like Rob Lowe, you are so H.O. Well, to say nothing of how the other Rob Lowe is H.O.T. One of my favorite celebrity memoirs is Rob Lowe's, I think first memoir because I think it's more than one. And could you look up if Rob Lowe has, and how many autobiographies Rob Lowe has? It's going to be important for the conversation today. Now, what do you think is the difference? I mean, there are like, you know, things that are characteristic of an autobiography and a memoir. An autobiography. Comprehensive. Yeah. And a memoir can be sort of a, just a glimpse. Expository. Yeah. I prefer a glimpse. It's actually your number nine. I prefer a glimpse. When it comes to biopics, I would like to see like, this is the week I really hurt my leg, but by the end of the week I still did the show. Yeah. I'd rather see, overcame leg injury and did the performance, the program. Then this is what happened when I was six, you're going to see me an old age makeup at 99. I don't give a fuck. I don't give a fuck. How many memoirs? One autobiography. Oh, I bet that's really good. I bet that's really good. You know, speaking of collection of humor, I was looking at the cast list, you're going to, you're not even going to believe this. A five-star weekend. Ah, yes, yes, yes. And not only was our guest in the show, I have a feeling that's why maybe she stopped by today, like maybe a little show, starting on July 9th on Peacock, catch a vibe, why don't ya? But also Regina Hall, Chloe Sevene, ever heard of it? Ever heard of it? Ever heard of that? A producer Becca is slippering through the door, like Chloe Sevene. There we go. Like Chloe Sevene slipped into this cast. Lipped into the cast, but Chloe would never be caught dead in Los Angeles. The water's too hard for her. Well, she might be caught dead in this show because we're hearing that there is a ton of suspense in drama, as well as Jennifer Garner. And she can do it all. Absolutely. So good in 13 going on 30. Oh, so good in Love Simon. Yeah. So good in Alias, but she's not here. She's not here. Our wonderful friend is. She's catching a vibe. We have very fun memories of her in this space, in this very building. Yeah. This is the night when she popped in for our great global songbook episode. Oh, huge. I love this place. I love this place. I love this woman. L.A. meaning dars. And I said the name a little early. I shot the load, but I'm second to load back up to shoot it again. It really? That's how it works. That's how it works. In L.A. Please welcome Darsie Cardin. Hey, how long have you been able to do that tree? Things I watched grease the first time. Oh my god. They do that in grease. That's where my head's too big. I feel like it's like, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia. That's a highlight of that film. That is. And it'll, it'll film of highlights. It's really good every scene. It'll be really good every scene. Oh, I'll take it off. I'll take it off. Come on. It's so bright, says Robert. It's a Robert. I think I might be a little hungover. Do you think so? What was this night? We went to jar last night. Oh, fine. Did you have the leechee? Martini? Should we have? It's famous for. Can I just say something? This is not my own thinks of money. Yeah. And when I said this at the gold gala, in front of many high-profile agents, they were like, what's your hot, what's your hot, take about Asian culture? I go, leechee looks and feels like glands, gonads, testicles. Of course it does. Of course it does. Why are we like, okay, popping that into our mouths? It's a vanity. It's so messed up. It's so raw. It's just messed up. If you, if you unzip the testy, squirt it out, what's ever in there? It's going to be a. It's going to be in that martini. I want to tell you something. The balls I have in my mouth. I hope that don't taste like leechee. Full of the insects. To say nothing of my current same-sex partner, I'm making a joke. Fraser, I'm not commenting on smell or taste of balls. But you kind of did. Which was that it was good? No, no. 'Cause it's going to say nothing. No, someone's going to be down there for me and say, oh, I love these leechee. Well, I think that's good. You want it to be leechee. You've got to be leechee then stinky. Worst flavor on three. One, two, three. Go, Max. But it's a tie with mango. Great? Like a grape. But you hate grapes. Are you kidding me? You hate grape flavor. I know. Wait, what are you doing? I love grapes, I hate grapes. Well, no, the flavor of grape. Yeah, it's bad. The flavor of grape is so different than a grape. A grape is 100%. A grape is 100% different than a grapes. Yes. A grape is 100% different than a grape. And that's real of falter number 60. A grape is so much different than a grape. A grape is 180 degrees. That's different than the flavor grape. Yeah, very good. Now, I do want to. Roblo. Roblo. It's so. 180 degrees different than Robert Lo. I need to. I need for us to go back to what Matt also said in that statement, which is he doesn't like mango. Oh, yeah, you don't like mango. The fruit are the sweetest fruits. It's one of the best fruits. That's what I said. Wasn't it exactly what I said? So why feel the need to ask a question? You said you didn't like mango, which is I've never heard anyone in my life deride mango. Had you been listening to me at thinner or less that, I did say it. You said it last night because you were like, "I don't want a mango." You had a side conversation. I was not included. It was a sorbet option. Oh, and you said not mango for me. I said. I said, "You know, thank you." And I also said, "No, thank you to passion fruit." One of the other worst. What, you got your taste buds on wrong, doll. But doll. But doll. Here's my thing. I was going to save it for her, and I don't think so many at a future time. And you can. Passion fruit should be the name for strawberry. Oh, my. Let me take it all in. Passion fruit should be the name. For strawberry. Okay. Why is it called strawberry A? Strong? The most passionate fruit is strawberry. Easily. It looks like a heart. Can I ask a question about where they wear strawberry bushes most grow? Is it among straws? Is it among straws? Like, could that be true? Okay, I do feel like horses eat straw and horses like strawberries. So they got to be close to each other. They have to be honest. They know anything about horses, straws, and strawberries. Strawberry. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But I thought they liked carrots. Okay, and here I am thinking carrots. They definitely do like carrots. I don't think that. Well, if straws the same thing as hay. And if so, I'm right. Mmm. Becca Arana, we actually are going to need a Google. We're going to need to help. If straws the same thing as hay. Now carrot is the right name for that. For sure. Oh. Okay, so.
- Drawing hair. - K is a nutrient rich feed. - Hey, it's a nutrient rich feed, not us. - Legumes, let's draw. - Straw is golden yellow. - Golden yellow. - Wheat. - And wheat or oat. - Okay, so didn't realize they were both food. I thought they were literally sticks. - Sticks where I suck up my drink. - Oh yeah, right, hollow sticks, aka straws. - Straws, yeah. - Okay, so what was your point? - So my thing is, passion fruit should be the name for strawberries. - Strawberries. - I'm there with you for that. - I don't think so, honey. Strawberries being the name of strawberries. - Strawberries being the name of sugar, yeah. - And that's all I'm saying, that's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. - It's gonna be hard, but I think we can do it. - And then what was the flavor that you said you hate? - I don't hate my, oh I just said stinky. - Stinky, and I said stinky. - Stinky is not a flavor. - I don't say good night. - Oh what's the flavor I hate? Leechy. - Leechy. - Leechy. - I despise Leechy. - What do I hate? I definitely hate some things, but I also love so many things. - Don't the purest flavor. - You don't wanna offend any of the fruits. - I don't like rosemary flavor. - Interesting. - You're like, yeah, what's that about? - I don't know, just like, oh, I also don't like hazelnut flavor. - Okay. - You don't. Nutella almost impossible, totally. - Oh yeah. - That's gonna be hard. - It's okay. - So rosemary, you ever have like a rosemary infused drink? - Yes. - For me, it's a total, I don't think it ever makes it better. - It's a total mango. - It's a total mango for me. - Yeah, exactly. It's a total mango for me. - For me. - You ever gave me a drink with rosemary in it? I would say, hey, can you throw this out? - Yeah. - Oh. - Oh, rosemary. - Rosemary. I don't wanna get as a name either. - Do you remember that musical? - Rosemary. - Yeah. - What's that from? - What's that from? - You know it so well. Does it sound like Matthew Broderick singing it? - No. - Oh. - Rosemary. - Tell us. - It's a question. - How does it get her? - That's a really giant, yeah, I guess that's a Google actually. - Yeah, that's a Google. - That's a total Google. - It's a big blind spot for me, but do you hear about this? - Okay. - Cynthia and Ariana are both going to be in very, like, you know, not off to produce. - Yeah. - Sometimes. - Yes. - Cynthia is doing passion with Jonathan Groff. Directed by Jamie Lloyd. - Ooh. - And Ariana. - And Jonathan Bailey are doing. - Okay. - So, you're Jonathan's and spin around. - We love it. - We love it. - I know. - Great Jonathan. - Those are two of the best Jonathan's. And I mean, like, those are two of the best Jonathan's in the history of America. - Of Jonathan's. - Or English. - Old world over it. - Yeah. - Who sucks, that's Jonathan. - Oh, there are some. - Jonathan Swift. - Ooh. - Jonathan trans. - Jonathan. - Okay. - Stop. - Put the pen down. - Oh, right. - Yeah. - That's great, right. - No, Jonathan Thomas. - You didn't have staying power. - Oh, stop. - He's like, my children. - They're not listening to this. - They might be. - Or if they are. - Maybe they are in the future. - Oh, oh gosh. - Oh. - You did it. - I would hate for Jonathan Taylor Thomas' kids in the future to be like, I'm going to listen to every lost culture. And they get to whatever this is 549 or whatever. - And they go. - Guess they didn't like Dada. - Oh no. - Oh. - They're 30, but they're calling him Dada. - He makes them. - Can I just clear it up? I've loved Jonathan Taylor Thomas from the Reddy name because I was doing a bit. And also, you were like, if I can't have him, no one will. - Yeah. - I'm always like that. - I know you are. - Yeah. - You're always doing that. - I'm always saying that to people. - You're always saying that to people. - Need to pause out in my deposit. - I'm like, oh, yes. And we know each other. - We were coming off stage. And we were sort of like, jaunting off. Like, hey, we did it. And then it was just Mariska. - Of course it was. - Be like, that was great. I was like, hi. Nice to meet you. Yes, totally. - It's that. - And of course when you're peak on your family, so you have to kind of act like your sisters. - Yeah. - She's cousin. - She's cousin. - She's cousin for show. - What's your vibe when you're back in New York City? - My love it so much. - Your love it so much. - No, she's in love it so much. - You hit the restaurant. - I love hitting restaurant. - And the theater. - And the theater can't be beat. - Where are we? - And I love hitting the goddamn theater. I just saw Maya and Omar. - How was it? - It was so good. - It was so good. - It was amazing. - It was so good. Did you say you love her or your lover? - I said your lover. - Your lover. - And I said my lover. - And I do love her. - And I love her, but my lover. It was amazing. And I'll just see that every new cast until I die. I love it so much. - I think I've seen the only one I missed was, oh, I missed John Cameron Mitchell, 'cause I wasn't there the entire time. But I'm a completist. - You're completist. - I'm seeing every Mary. I missed Cracow. - Oh God. - I know. - Well, I'm going to see her this week. - Cracow. - Cracow. - Cracow. - And what I'm doing is I'm flying to Ireland. - Huh? - For like two nights to do an episode of Celebrity Name That Tune. It shoots in Ireland. - In Ireland. - Why, 'cause I bet it's cheaper to do that. And then I like. - And then I'm believable. - And yet believe it. - I get to donate $100,000 or something like that to charity. And it's going to be amazing. - It's wonderful. - And also I'll win because I'm really good at Name That Tune. - Yeah. - Or maybe I won't get my head. - Okay, I'll get my head. - So, let's practice. - Ready? - Go do that. (humming) - It's Korean Bailey Ray. - Korean Bailey Ray. - Korean Bailey Ray. - Korean Bailey Ray. - It's Korean Bailey Ray, but you were right. - I like Korean. - Korean was my color. - Korean Bailey Ray. - Korean Bailey Ray. - Korean Bailey Ray. - Korean Bailey Ray. - Yes. - Go put Yon's records on. - Yes! - Yes! - That's a great twist. - I love that twist. - Did I make up Yon's? I think my sister and I said Yon's. Like, why ONS for your. - No, no, no. Yon's? - But I think Yon's is. - When you see this sad movie, Yon's. Yon's gonna cut it. Yon's isn't like Christmas Carol's. - Okay. - But I think you and Miranda did invent it. - I think we did and we say Yens, but Yens I think is like Pittsburgh or something like that. - Yeah, what do we insguise? - Insguise. - Insguise. - Like, insguise. - No, that's how we're insguise. - Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go - I'm gonna say, the state of Pennsylvania has come up with the craziest words in English. - Totally, totally. - Yeah, totally. - We're just the uses of words. - For sure. - It's time for Round Two of Name That Two. - Okay. - Okay. - It's hard. - Sorry. Sorry, the artist is calibrating. Okay, here we go. - Can I have this song again, please? - I know it. - Okay. - You're going to a different part? - Yes. - This is the bridge. - Oh yeah. - Since you took your love. - Canadian. - Canadian O'Connor. - Yes, a Canadian. - Korean O'Connor. - Yes. - Korean O'Connor.
- Yeah, go to the next two guys. - Nothing young pairs to young. - Nothing happens to young. - Nothing. - That wasn't so good. - It was so good. - I think this is the perfect time to introduce us again that I don't think will succeed. - Okay, great. - But it's called the Girl Game. - Okay. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - This is good, this is good. - We all take a turn and we sing. We think of a song that has the word girl. - Girl, okay. - We sing the pitch of one girl in the song. - Okay. - And then we have to guess what song you're thinking of. - Okay, and when he says we sing the pitch of the song. - So if it was my girl, it would just-- - Okay. - Go. - For example, for a girl, go put your own records on. And I would have gone, girl. - Okay, okay, okay, okay. So you just do the girl, the girl moment. - The girl moment. - Okay, okay. - Give me one sec to just think of a girl song. - Okay. - It's actually hard. - Yeah. - It's quite hard. - No, no, no. - Because also we can take a beat and they could cut out this dead ass air. Far. (laughing) - I don't know if you guys do things like that. - All the songs I'm thinking of are like too hard. - Okay, but like I want to do, it's about to be a girl fight. - But then it would just be, no girl. - Right, but here he would have gone. - Girl. - Okay, let me just think. - Girl. - Okay, I got. - Okay. - Okay, ready? - Mm-hmm. - Girl. - One more time, one more time. - Okay. - One more time, one more time, I think. - But that was the no. - That was, yeah. I don't wanna give you anything away. - Okay. - Mm-hmm. - Girl. - Little different. - Girl, girl, girl, girl. - Close. - Do you want me to give you like a no? - Give us the, yeah, show you give you like a, - The no, uh, like the word before or after. - Girl, girl, girl. - Give us a word far away from the girl. - Okay. - Okay, happy this. I'm gonna go like this. - Yeah. - Girl. - Mm-hmm. - Girl. - Bl-w-w-w-w-w-man. - I'm not a girl. - I'm not a girl, don't tell me what to believe. - I'm not yet a woman, I'm just trying to find the woman in me. - Go ahead. - That was really good. - All I need is time, but the time. - A moment that is mine, mm-hmm, while I'm in between. - Oh, I'm not a girl. - I'm a emotional weight. - You wanna be sure? - Because you wanna know what we'd never sing on the podcast anymore. - I know it's been so long, honestly. You did a little singing with Josh and Aaron, I feel. - Well, not a lot. - Not a lot. - That's just Broadway. - Yeah, that's true. You inspired the music. - I love the music. - I love the music too. - Let's take it back to music. - Okay, play girl. Who's turn? - It's a, it's a, it's a flock. It needs one new rule. - Well, we have to work, I mean, we have to, like, - I have one. - This rule, yeah. - We're ready, and then Katie Kirk will tell it. - Ready? - Go! - I can tell you've been crying and you need somebody to talk to! Go! - I don't think there's so many stories together. - You know, when you have twins, you know, like when twins or siblings have, like, correct pitches together? - I think it could be true that we are somehow twins. - I think so too. - God is so big. - God is so big. - How did you feel about us getting sexual with each other at the Cultural Awards? - It was, well, it was, like, it was legitimately hot. - Who was I sitting next to? - You were sitting next to Joel Jackson and Jason. - I was sitting next to my husband and Joel. - Well, weren't you next to your husband? - Yeah, I was next to-- - Or was it someone else? - No, it was my husband. - No, you've been carrying on an affair with Joel Kim and it's over. - What if I was carrying-- - It ends today! - Today is the day that it ends. What if I was carrying on an affair with Jason for decades? - My husband and I have been carrying on an affair. - But I called him my husband, but it was an affair. - We find that you have, like, your actual husband from Lut. - Yes. - He's very old. - Very old. - Okay, I-- - Jason's looking good. - He's always hot. - He's always hot. - He's always hot. - And I want-- - Can we just say that? - He's so hot. - Let us do it once. - No, he's so hot. You can. - Yeah? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Can we do it once? - Yeah, can we do it once? - He's so hot. I love this part. - Oh, you're so cute. - I love that part of a man. - Oh, hot. - Is it even if he likes those parts too on you? - Right here. - All of you speaking of a man coming in here? - Can you hear it? (laughing) - Speaking of the man in our life, always handling our long pole. - And is this about good? - You're perfect. - Okay, okay. - You're perfect. - It's just anal. Even though we asked him yesterday, he ever tried it in the butt, no. (laughing) - Okay, so obviously, Brittany and Malon are so hot. - They're so fucking hot. - They're so hot, they're so hot on the show. But in on their show. But on stage and person, you guys, I'm so sorry, Brittany and Malon, you guys are so hot. But you guys actually hotded them down. - No, we frame all of you. - I mean, because we've also seen them like eat each other out. - Yeah. - Okay, but you guys, like we haven't seen you guys eat each other out, so it's so exciting to see each other out. - Hunting why not, yeah. - We play two gay guys who eat each other out. - Fishing husbands. - We play two fishermen, they meet while they're hunting. - I'd watch it. - I watch it. - The fishing husbands. - I would watch it. - It's just an HGTV sort of tone. We're just picking out decor. - I think you should do that. But you guys really had some, like you guys did a great job. And I know it's sibling off. You know what I mean? He told me earlier in the week that I had to be slower and more central when he said, "I know it's weird." And I was like, "I'm gonna do it!" - Don't talk about it. - I just wanted to get on the same page. And the courier rehearsals, Matt was doing a thing where he was just like, - I was being silly. - I was totally honking his arms in the air and doing this. And I'm like, "No, I'm like, it's funny." But it's like, I think we need to make people feel slightly uncomfortable. - It was, I mean, it was actually like, heat or rivalry. It was like, you guys really were doing the slow sexy. - I'm actually gonna say, "Absolutely." - Yes! - And again, it was so hot. It was so hot. And again, Malin and Brittany, you're so hot each other out every day for the rest of your lives on camera. But I really liked watching you guys get sexy with each other. - Thank you. - I guess I meant to incest. - There was, there was so much great incest. Woman on woman, man on man on the show. I loved when Eddie Bryant said, - I would never. - E-much. - Even in a crunch. - Even in a crunch. And when Alex siblings when you and Paul were kissing. - Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Paul and I have kissed before. - You've made out before. - Well, not made out, but we've kissed. We did this like web series for Broad City. - Feels right. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - And your characters. - I feel like we just did the same thing that we did on the show, which is like we improvised a kit. I mean, we like, it wasn't, there was no intimacy coordinated. - It wasn't a secret. - It was an Easter egg for fans of the BC. - I feel like I feel like I should read the text that I sent you guys, which is that Paul texted me and said, "Do you know I'm playing Shrek?" And I said, "Just found out, so excited." And he wrote like something like, "If you consent." I will give you dot, dot, dot, next text. Next text? - A kiss. - And then I said I was just about to say we should kiss. So it was, it was a mutually agreed upon kiss. - Yes, consent, just like we talked about in the piece. - Yeah, I love consent. - I love consent. I'm enthusiastic for it. - I wish I had tongueed him down a little more 'cause he kind of, he would have. - But that's another layer of consent, we think. - Well, you just, you don't want to be the one to, one, I do remember like my first stage kiss in a play. - Yeah, someone toned. - I toned. - That's okay. - I tongueed in like a, like a, - You have to tell someone. - In like a, what was it, like almost like a response. - Yeah. - You know when the doctor goes like this. - Reflexed? - Yeah, it was almost like a reflexive thing. And I, I think I also kind of had a crush on him at the time. So maybe I was like. - Who was it? - He, he, he, you wish you don't say. - I mean. - I said Robert Lowe's name. - If I said it, it would be-- - Is he a person today? - He's a person that lives today. - Oh, no. - He's no longer an actor. - But that, I think, I don't want, 'cause of that. No, I don't want to make you, I don't want to make you say. - And one of those green actors that you're just like. I mean, I mean, where I'm like, your gift. - Your gift? - Yes. - Your voice. - Your gift. - But also, he gave it to us for a long time. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I'm done with this shit. - There you go. - Give it to us. - And people are going to. But I do remember I kind of tongueed him down. I don't mean I was like, like this, like that a little bit. I just kind of like tongueed. And then I was like, oh my god, I'm so sorry. And he was like, it's okay. My only kiss on screen was with a straight man, and he was lovely, but I was nervous about it the whole time, because-- - Wait, I'm trying to think of it. - His name is John O'Willson. It was on the show. I love John O'Willson. - Yeah, I know, that was so handsome and great. And he was so lovely, but I was just like, I was a little bit like in my head the whole time, like I'm kissing a straight man. And then I did a little internalize homophobia of like I shouldn't even be here. - You guys had good chemistry though. I shouldn't even exist. I shouldn't even be on this planet. - I was kind of like, oh, the straight man has to kiss to meet a gay guy. I didn't think of it. I didn't think of it like an actor has a job in his kissing another actor. I was just like, flagulating like, I can't believe it. - Wait, I shouldn't be here. - Wait, I'm so sorry, this is actually really sad. - That's tough. - Because it sucks that you had to like-- - No, I know, I know, I know, I know, but also even that that would just even crash your mind. - But it is like a thing. - Yeah, well I-- - It is such a thing. - Totally. - I never want anyone to feel when I'm kissing them, like they don't want to do it. - I don't think I can sound. - How serious are we getting? - Just a little. (laughing) - I loved it! (laughing) - That was our first kiss. - I mean the Paul Downs Club. (laughing)
- I have weirdly kissed so many people on camera. - That's wonderful. - Not a lot on stage, but so many people on camera, I kind of believe it. - Well, comedians, they have that you have to. - Yeah. - I have. - You made out with some of the elites. - You're truly some of the hottest women alive. - A-List Mouths. - A-List Mouths. - One. - Title of it. - A-List Mouths. - A couple, honey. - A-List Mouths, Ariana Grande, A. - Oh, Ariana. - List. - S-S. - S-S. - Queenie. - Tina Gershon. - Tina Gershon. - And Scar Joe. - Oh, I mean, kind of the world's hottest. - I also want to tell you that-- - The greatest Johns in America. - The greatest Johns. - Had I known that there would be Mouth on Mouth today, I would have shaved a little bit. - Oh, no, you guys, that was good. - I was young, young, young, pure, did it all. - Today we went to go meet Judy's baby. - Oh. - And I went down to kiss the baby, and I was like, I can't because my, my, my, my beastly face. - I know. - And you're kind of like, every time you kiss someone, you're thinking like, I'm a piece of shit. - I'm like, what's that about? - Sorry. - God, you are a-- - Well, it's my kink. - Yeah. - How do you know we haven't stumbled upon finally the discussion of my kink on this show? - Which kissing? - No, feel like, yeah, feel like a little dirty pig. - Feeling like a dirty pig. - Feeling like this, I don't deserve to be kissed. - Oh, that's so interesting. Back in the day when I was on Grindr, and people would sometimes go like, any kinks. - Right, right. - And I'd be like, I'd be like, not really. I mean, I guess this, this. And they'd be like, for me, it's definitely kissing. - Kink kissing? - Some people think that that is like, it's weird. - It's weird. - Some people want to focus on that. - Yeah. - Does sometimes a kink mean like, I need this? - No. - Kink means like, to me, kink means like, this is a strange one, but here's my thing. - I'm into it. - I don't think it's something that people do. I think it's something that this guy did, because and that was indicative to me of like, oh, you're not like an intimate. - Oh yeah. - You're not into looking for sex on this show. - You're not like a sex app for like, intimacy and passion. - Right, right. - You're into it, in your words, to bang out and plow. - Oh, interesting. Oh, really interesting, even with kissing. - Yeah. - Okay. - No, well, I'm just saying like, if someone's like, I'm into kissing, I feel like it's like, well, I would have, I would have assumed, what are you saying? That if someone said that I'm into kissing. - It was just funny because the introduction of the conversation was what your kink got. - And I said, okay, it's this and this. And he was like, for me, it's, you know, I contact kissing, in the things that for me, I was like, yeah, that's for sure. - That's for sure. - I feel like. - You'll do that, yeah. - Totally, totally. - I'ma try that. - I'ma try that. - I'ma try that. - I'ma try that. - And how was he? - I didn't go. - Okay, good. - It happens all the time. - I lost contact, I know Wi-Fi. - Oh no. - For example, I'm drowning. - I'm drowning. - Oh no, I'm fishing. - Yeah. - Fishing has been. - I just remembered I had a fishing trip. - I've got no service on the lake. (laughing) - I'll look back to when I'm back from the lake after I caught my bass and my big seabirds. - Jason, that's a Fisher guy. (cow mooing) - Golfer? - No, no, no. - What's his most like, husband? - Yeah, what's his most male hobby? - Okay, not fishing or golf. His most male hobby, he's like, he'll fix whatever the fuck. - That's hot. - Yeah, I guess that's his most male. - He's a fixer. - He'll fix, you know, like if something's broken, he'll fix it. - Oh my God. - What's the craziest thing that he could just fix or has just fixed? - I mean, to me, anything with a car blows my mind. - Are you kidding? - No. - Anything with a car blows my mind. I'm like, how, this is science. - This would kill me. - Yeah, so I'm like, I couldn't even fathom. So that, like just recently had a car thing, but he was like, oh, I'll just buy the thing and I'll fix it. And then he did it and then, (laughing) - Also, I'm gonna say it, in the car, what button does what? - What button does what? Is that what I'm looking at? - I'm seeing you're going, what button I want. - What's this? - Let's go. - Does this ever happen to you? - Yeah. - The whole dashboard changes color and you're in a different mode. - I don't want that. - You're like ultimate speed racer mode. - I don't want to be an ultimate speed racer. Sometimes it does it day to night, that can be confusing, but just so you know that does that. Like when the sun changes, it might go into dark mode. Don't be scared. - Right, I'm here going. - I'm here going. - I'm supposed to be looking at the road. - Right, why am I looking at computer? - Why am I looking at computer school? Why am I sitting here in computer school when I'm supposed to just be driving in driving class? - In driving class. - In driving world. - To a computer school when I had to in seventh grade. And I do mean there was a period where we had to go to computer school. - It's a computer school. - And then you would do a kid picks. - Kid picks, oh my god. - Kid picks. - Wait, I feel like, I feel like Miranda again, my sister. I feel like we learned how to, like, okay, I feel like it's from kid picks. - Mm-hmm. - Ah, Bay, say, day. - Yes. - Bay. - When you would type out the letters? - Yes, it's like, ah, Bay, say. - Yes. - Yes! - F-A. - F-A. - I'm gonna get 'em wrong. - I miss F-A. - I miss F-A. - Ah, like, Hota, F-A. - F-A. - Gale, M. - You learned Spanish through kicks. - But then my favorite was his voice would go like, igriaga or whatever. - Yes, yes. - Why Z? What is igriaga? - Igriaga? - And also, I don't know if I'm doing right, I'm just, I'm sitting here talking kid picks. - No, we're talking kid picks. - I'm actually just quoting kid picks. - You're quoting kid picks, but in Canada, kid picks would do French way. They go, "Gret!" - Whoa! - And you'd be like, yeah, that's right. - Yeah, yeah, that is right. - So, a kid picks. - Gret. - Gret. - Gret. - Oh, God, Igriaga, sorry. - California kid picks must have been five. - Oh, damn, yeah, yeah, kid picks. - Why can't you kid? - Anyway, but that was computer school. - And that's gonna be computer school, yeah. - I didn't do any of that. - I don't know. - I didn't do anything back on computer school because, well, first of all, all those teachers are dead. (laughing) - I thought about that the other day. - And it's not dead in life, dead in practice, because of those computers. - Oh, yeah, I know. - Yeah, those computers are big pieces of cement. - They're dead professionally, certainly. - Yes, first. - Dead personally, likely. - Possibly. - Yeah. - They spent all their little lives on computers. And now, computers are in our freaking eyeball. - Yeah, I have it in my eyeball. - Yeah, can't get away from it. - Can't get away from it. - There's 17 computers in this room. (laughing) - Computer. - I have computer. - Computer, computer, computer, computer. You have literally, literally, literally. - What we basically are all computer. - It wasn't always country, we're not religious, but Meredith Theera on millionaire would go. - Computer eliminated two of the answers when they were 50-50. Anytime Meredith Theera would ask for the computer, I'd be like, "Yes, bitch." - And that's a more-- - And that's a more-- - We need more Meredith. (laughing) - That's her local number, was that? - That was 12. - Yeah, 12. - Any time Meredith Theera would ask the computer. - That's the computer. - It was like, yes, yes, bitch. - Shh, come, don't. (laughing) - Yes, bitch. - It became a lot of different things. - Ideas. - Yeah, and they'll figure it out. - Yeah, too many ideas. - Yeah, no, no, no, we're good, we're good. - There was a lot of ideas, but one strong idea was the five-star week out. I'm so happy it got made. - It was such a strong idea. - Can you talk about the camaraderie on set? - I'd love to. - Yeah. (laughing) - This is so dumb. What I actually would love to. - You please. - Tell us about it. - Okay. - And you know what has our favorite people in it. - No, okay, should I tell you some of them? You've mentioned some at the top, but I wasn't here. - We're doing a poll. - Yeah, cast. Wait, I just said cast, but I meant to say cast. - Cast. (laughing) - Cast. - The listeners at home. I was here. - Yeah. - That's what you don't know. When they're talking at the top. - Yeah. - I was here the whole time. - Oh, I'm rolling the spell. - Well, now that they know, we have to change the whole topic. (laughing) (upbeat music) - And now a quick break from our sponsor, Vital Proteins. - And it is vital. this? How about we flip it on his head? Okay, how about we flip the screen? Okay, what is the surprise one, man? Actually, you think as the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never know that I have you would never set expectations for something like that. It seems the universe allows for something like that to happen. I am open to. I'm always going to accept, you know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking on the hallway to be honest with you. I was like, I was like, is that one? No, it's fragile masculinity. Ben still or no? Because a lot of times in out of context, people don't get it, or even know what a circle is. Like girl, I go into so stupid. Everyone's so dumb. And fake. Right fake and also not interested. Or just like, Oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally, he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode. But he's just so busy. We share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Piñero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meaning people. And they were like, you smiled at us, not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip. I hope you listen to solita on the I heart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay, so here's who we're talking about. Yeah, you got Jen Garner, you got Regina Hall, Chloe 70, Gemma Chan. Yes, Timothy Oliphant, Harlow Jane, West Duke, Havney, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer. Okay, it's not Judy Greer and Jennifer Garner and the same thing once again. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, I think that's right. Wait, 13 on 30 reunion, not to mention catch and release reunion with Timothy Oliphant, Jenny G. It's a catch and release reunion. Yeah, I have to ask about a few of the cast members and I'm asked the same book. I'm asked the same question about all of them. What was the most Jennifer Garner thing she did on set? Well, okay, the few that are coming to mind. Yes, she was like the queen of food trucks. So she would always get she get a food truck like weekly. Love that, which just is taking care of the cast. The children, yeah, she like had Gemma and I over to her house. She would have had Regina and Chloe, but they were in New York and just made us a chicken lunch just whipped up a chicken. I love it lunch. And it was delicious. Yes, you know what I mean, like that type of thing, where you like just oh, let me just whip you up a chicken. So she was providing. She's a provider. Yes, she's a provider. Also, I mean, I could talk forever about her. Also, like, let me just think what I want to say here, because she's so chicken lunch. She's so chicken lunch. Yeah, but it also not sandwiched lunch. No chicken lunch, chicken lunch, chicken on a plate. The best vibe pans down. Yeah, chicken on a plate, chicken on a plate. Oh, here's some pans on. Yeah, yeah, exactly. She, she's like pounded chicken, pink go. Wow, fried or yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, I said delicious rice. Shoot me down. No, I love this. What's wrong with my head? What's wrong with me now? No, she's just she glows. She is so busy. Yeah, family, career, acting beyond everything. Also, like, charities like traveling. She's so busy, but reaches out. She is such a good friend. I could cry talking about her. She's such a thoughtful, generous, like, she, you can't believe the care this person puts into her relationship. She's, she is like, she's the fucking greatest. She know my story about her. Tell me, I was doing the ride. Yeah, I was singing on the street. Great. You remember, because for those you don't know, what was the sideways facing bus tour bus 13 and a half feet tall, it rode around comedian slash hosts were on the bus narrating and there were some people on the street performing. And I would do both, but this day I was performing on the street in front of Carnegie Hall. I was getting ready to walk down the street, have the bus pull up and have them be like, who's this guy? Let's see if it waved to us and then start singing my song, which was. I know you're lying. Cuz you're lips are moving. What? Sure was. Megan trainer. Okay, great. And as I'm singing it, the bus starts freaking out. Okay, you're like, and I'm like, oh my god, I was be slaying down today to Megan trainer. And the guy is, there's like a saxophone playing along. And I turn around and the bus drives away and they freaked out from me. I ate. And the saxophone guy goes, I was like, wow, we killed that. And he goes, yeah, no, I think they just noticed Jennifer Garner. And I was like, what? And apparently Jennifer Garner had like stood by me while I sang the whole time and did a whole thing like with the bus like, oh my god, she's she's a performer. And then by the time I had turned around, she was like rounding the corner like totally she and I she was like, yes, I love that. I mean, like even that just like she knows who she is. She's like, I'm going to talk to you best. And then I'm going to walk away. I'm not going to give you you too much because I gotta take care of me. It was wild stuff. That is amazing. God, you're you're you're going to love her. When you know, when when we meet her, I mean, well, I have thoughts. We reached out to her to come to the cultural words. Actually, we wanted to her accept the award for best thing to say to a gay guy, which was you can breathe now Simon. Is that what she'll do? She'll do it. We talked about it last year. We should do it. Should take it happen. Go through me next time. But you know what's I'm not kidding. It'll happen. I I T fully believe to I have always loved her. And she talked to me about the show last year. What she did. So she want, I mean, she saw you say Megan L Aquista. Absolutely. Megan L Aquista Transphobia. Does she agree? She totally agrees. Yeah. She says Megan Jennifer Garner says Megan L Aquista and her partner. Yeah. Wow. Well, what was the most Chloe 70 thing that she did on set? Oh my god, so many good Chloe things. Okay. I'm just thinking of like the very first time we met. Okay. Well, okay. First, this is just cool. Yeah. I went vintage shopping. Oh, yes. In Los Angeles. In Man Tuckets. Oh. Excuse me. Because we should huh calm. We, um, is that what you said? That's really funny. We at a dot org dot biz. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That biz is crazy. Yeah. It's like. Not dot dot in this climate. Hey, Trump. Can you hear my coming for you, baby? Near my spine cracking. Yeah. That feels great. Hey, Donald Trump. We're coming for you. Donald Trump. My spine is cracking. And Mr. Trump, if you're listening, my spine is cracking. Okay. So I just remember. Okay. Imagine if you will. Okay. I will. I'm taking it back. The day. Okay. So I was the last of the five to get cast. Yeah. Thank you. We started. I got cat. Thank you. I started. I got cast and we started filming not but days later. Five stars. Five. Five. Less than five days later. Yeah. Yeah. So Minky Spiro, the amazing director, had this idea of bringing the five of us, five women who had never worked together before. Didn't really know each other at all. Very different women. Yeah. Spice girls. Very spiced girls. And I'm like, are we who is that? And then we, her idea wasn't just that we were going to like eat lunch together, but we were going to play Pictionary together for like 90 minutes. Or maybe it was just always ideal. No, this is Minky. So anyway, this is how we got to know each other. Is we sat in a living room and we play it like these busy, busy women that were like prepping to start shooting the show. And me being like, I'm here. We played Pictionary.
for like, I feel like saying two hours is an exaggeration, but I literally think it was, because we kept being like, another round, like really, but it was so fun, so fun, so fun. But I have this great memory of Chloe. Oh my god, I love her so much. She, we weren't on the same team. It doesn't matter. We were, I was basically helping someone else, like someone that wasn't on my team, where I was like giving him a little hint, and she looked at me and she was like, and then she was like, what the fuck? What the fuck, Wink? And that's kind of Chloe in a nutshell, just kind of like a girl, an old girl. So cool, just amazing. And like, I don't know what it was about, you know, this just happens. You, I don't know why this particular group meshed like this, but we just like got into it really fast. It was like, it was like, girl time every day, five of us, a lot of group scenes, so we're all just sitting around. There was like no topic off limits. We just like got deep facts. I don't know why. It was just, do you tend to do that? I don't. I mean, I will, I'll go where the, the wing blows me, but I don't like, what do you, I mean, what is that like? Well, I guess a lot of people would call it, like, trauma-dumping, trauma-dumping. When it's a mutual thing, it can be quite beautiful. We were sort of just like, open. It was not like, it wasn't necessarily, trauma-dumping, although trauma-dow, whatever you got. But it was like, it was just like, it wasn't a bunch of women kind of, holding it in, or like close to the. It wasn't like this, hi. It was, yeah, exactly. It was like, and yeah, it was, it was just like, tell me about it, and then what happened? It was, it's five, it's five of you, who people have obsession over. It's the, I'm upset. I have obsession over. Wait, I just thought of a Regina thing. No, that was going to be next, if you could believe it. Can you just imagine this woman? She's the funniest person alive, and she has the, the driest sense of humor, she was a scary amount, where you don't know if she's joking, lying, telling the truth. It's like genius level, dry. But she, we were talking about, hold, please. Gil, happy Gilmore, come here. Yeah. And this is just a little funny thing, she said. We were talking about who's going to see it, whatever. And she goes, because I haven't even seen Gilmore girl season one. That's really fucking good. Cause I haven't even seen Gilmore girl season one. Right. And so she's like, so how am I going to see the movie? And then you're like, what, you're trying to like, you know, she, she's also again, off in a puff of smoke. You're kind of like trying to catch up. No, she's, I, I'm obsessed with how like, slippery it is. Totally. It's like, I think one more. Yeah, they're just popping into my head. So this is like kind of what this podcast is. It's like, Regina Hall was good this day. Exactly. That's kind of what this podcast is. Regina Hall being good this day. I introduced her to my brother who is an editor for animation, animated movies. And I said, there's a member of the will, he works in Netflix, beep that, just kidding. He's an editor and she goes, I'm an editor. And I know right away she's lying, but I keep going. And I'm an editor and then I say he does animation. And she goes, I edited Moana. This is fucking legendary. My brother was like a good bullshit detector. And she totally believed her. She's so dead ass. I'm an editor. I'm not that drinker like major. I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's good. She's just really funny. She's really quick and really, really funny. Well, she's a master at throwing something away because one of the best line reads in any comedy ever is, no, the fuck did that. No, the fuck did that. Where the fuck did it scare me? I don't know. I mean, like where does she-- No, right. She's just funny. Yeah, she just is good. Like, she's so naturally funny. That's the thing. Ultimately is, when it comes down to it, some people just like are good. Totally, totally. Undeniable. I know, undeniable. I think we should give her her first Oscar. Yeah, I know, I know. And I think she's gonna get one. I do too. Also, this was fun when when battle came out, we were in Nantucket, so we went together. Oh, right. There's one movie theater in Nantucket, and it has one screen, and it was playing-- Major. It was playing one battle. And so we all went with her like a lot of people, and it was really sweet. It was so exciting. It was so exciting. That shot of her in the mirror telling chase, like you have to come with me. I'm like-- Chills. Chills. Yeah, she's perfect. She's perfect. Restrained. Beautiful. I mean, she's perfect. She's incredible. She has so much gravitas as an actor. Have you seen support the girls? No, but it's so good. Oh, it's so good in that. God, why haven't I seen this yet? I've heard it's so good. It's so good. Yeah, she's amazing. She's like the manager of a Hooters. It looks out for support the girls. She goes ahead and supports the girls. Is it also sort of like a play on bra? Literally. Yeah. Like support the girls. They're like, they work out like a Hooters. You know, you ever think about it? Doing Hooters? Yeah, going to Hooters. I've been. Have you enjoyed the Wings? I've enjoyed the Wings. Huh? Now, excuse me, that just, you know, it's a double on Tundra. It really is. Oh, thank you. Yeah. Oh, my God. Is that a fun name for a girl on Tundra? I was like, Gorgeous, actually twins. Double on Tundra. Double on Tundra. I have two daughters named on Tundra. I call them double on Tundra. On Tundra. On Tundra's. On Tundra's. On Tundra's. Jeter time. Your mashed potatoes only are ready. Make the dinner. And Aunt Jen Garner made chicken lunch. But it's dinner. Aunt Jen Garner is here. On Tundra's. On Tundra's. She pounded the chicken. Aunt Jen Garner is crazy. Why did I say that? She pounded her chicken all night to be here with you guys. She made you chicken lunch. What is chicken lunch? Is that from someone else's? On Tundra's. I got your finger out of my Tundra's food. It's on Tundra's chicken. From Aunt Jen Garner. No, from Aunt Jen Garner. Aunt Jen Garner. Aunt Jen Garner. And there's an aunt or aunt. Well, depends on what. Be careful. You say because this is the definitive answer. It'll be this from the years. Actually, aunt. Oh, I'm sorry. No, it's not. No, it's just another check in the column for we say things wrong from Long Island. Of course, it's not. But I would be so surprised you guys say aunt. We say aunt. I always think East Coast is aunt. So everything on Long Island that can sound worse does. OK. So basically, it's like the word is like aunt. Yeah, you're going to say aunt. Right, right, right. Can you explain Mario? Because it's not Italian. I don't say Mario. I say Mario. Well, it's pretty fucking close to me. We call that "Mario." And I tell you guys about penis weiner. What's penis weiner, huh? In my family, meaning in mine and Jason's home, if something is this or that, same, same, we call it penis weiner. penis weiner. Half a dozen. Half a dozen, which I hate to do this, guys. But we talked about this last time. I know, I remember. Six or a half a dozen. So the new version is penis weiner. Yeah, you can say penis weiner. And it really, we are, we are, imagine this, if you will. We're renovating our house. OK. So we're working with adults, like contractors and architects and stuff. The amount of times we say penis weiner to a grown adult man who's like, would you want this or that? We're going to go like a penis weiner. And they know it now. Yeah, they get it. Yeah, it communicates a lot. It does. And feel free to take that. I'm a penis weiner, I mean, it's penis weiner. So it's penis weiner. So you were talking Mario, sorry, I'm hopped up now. I don't know. I don't know. It's Mario. You notice, have you noticed? I've been saying Mario. He's been. It's very my fair lady. He's like, correct. OK. Good job. Well, depending on what? Depending on where you're from, you sometimes have to do that. For example, sorry to utter his name again. But Jason grew up in Virginia where they say, what do you call the little waxy colored thing that you draw with? Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. No, I'm sorry. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. Crayon. And I love the listeners. I love the readers, the Katie's, the publics, the finalists, and even the Kyle's. A lot of you are wrong out there about what you're doing and something you're thinking right now, and the way that you've behaved today and probably all week is wrong. And that's one minute. And you can feel bad. And you know how long it took me to say that to myself? Guess what? It's okay if people feel bad. Oh, huge. I have a game. Okay. This is the penis-weener game. Okay. I'm going to name two things. One of them has to be penis and one of them has to be. I love it. Coke and Pepsi. Which one's penis? Which one's weener? Coke is penis. Pepsi is weener. Ding, ding, ding. Okay. Okay. Jessica Simpson and Ashley Simpson. Which one is penis and which one is weener? Jessica's Coke. Jessica's penis. Sweet Coke. Jessica's Coke. Jessica's Coke. Jessica's Ashley's Weener. Jessica's Coke. Ashley's Pills. Ashley's Pills? Well, because he's talking like Coke. I was like a massive Ashley Simpson stand. Were you? Massive. Is this Ashley? Anna Mondays. Yeah. Cool. Yeah. Cool. And I know that song became what it became and it's been overshadowed by the moment. But I think it's a great song. That's fantastic. Yeah.
defending her in high school. - Yeah, I thought I was defending her post-essano. - Yeah. - Wow. - For AP comp, I wrote like a persuasive essay about why Ashley Simpson should be forgiven. - That was your thesis. - Yeah. - I really would like to read it again now. - I know. - I would like to read it again now to see how much phagotry is on display, word by word. - Read it on the pool. - I really should find it. I don't know if it exists anymore, but I hope it does. - Dought out of the pool. - I thought it was the pool. I think Darcy walking into the first episode she recorded with his was a major moment in history. - I remember every moment. - Every moment. - I don't remember what I did yesterday. - Yesterday. - The Saturday. - The Saturday. - The Saturday. - The Saturday. - That was back in 2000, what? - 2017. - 2017, I bet. - 2017, it was. - Oh, when a half. - After you did, I don't think so when you lied in LA. - Okay, not to correct you, but first was show. - Yes, first was show, and then you came to the pod. - And you were like, y'all, no, no, no, no, no. - I was the first. - I was the first. - I was the first. - Okay, in my memory, it's so funny because I'm like, I remember everything, but now I'm like, okay, I think it was, an apartment. - It was an apartment. - Okay. - It was. - Type of studio. - Yes, it was. - And then I did the show. - Yes. - Live show. - Yes. - And then I did like a downtown LA office. - Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. - There was a lot of room. - We have lived many different lives on this podcast. - This is true. - Another one, because. - Announce it. - Should we reveal? We're gonna be getting a new set that Bowen Yang is designing. - Oh my God, this is so exciting. - This is not a big deal. Now I feel the pressure. - Feel the pressure. - That's fine. - Feel the pressure. - You know what creates pressure, diamonds. - Ooh, yes. If you think about it, you know what creates pressure. Don't correct him. - Don't correct him. - And actually, in a way, it's true. - There's actually a little cushion number three. You know what creates pressure, diamonds. But also, you can make that make sense. And I've already done it. - Well, and the process of making a diamond, you do create pressure. - Okay, say it again. - Like, I've been focused on the diamonds. No, what about the pressure that was just there? - How about time together, instead of gifts, like diamonds, how about simply time together? - I love time together. (upbeat music) - Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. - And Sean Clements. - We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. - We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman. Not that great. - Actually, can you help me shape this? - No. - How about we flip this around? - No. - Okay, what is the surprise one then? - Well, actually, you think as the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. - Adam Scott, this entire time, you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. - I would never let go of that. - I have, I would never set expectations for something like that. - It sounds like if the universe allows for something like that to happen. - I am open to it. - I'm always going to accept. - Okay. - You know, Danny McBride, fine. - Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity, exuding. - I was like, I smell that. - I was like, is that what you need? Nope, it's fragile masculinity. - Ben stiller, no. - I think there's a lot of times out of context, people don't get it, or even know what a circle is. Like you're like, oh, it's a stupid crap. - Everyone's so dumb. It's for you. - And fake. - Right, fake and also not interested. It had a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. - Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally, he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. - I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the survivor files. - I just remember this low-taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. Listen to Pro's Society on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See you between the pages. - On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. - I can wait four hours for the next bus, or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose Option B. I'm Julie Bignero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. - Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smile good, that's not a lot of people smile around here. - It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is, and not the lies your soul about it. So whether you're a solo travel veteran, or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. - What's your love language? And when I ask this question, I know that I want to know what your love language expression is not what you like to receive, because apparently that's a controversial thing. A lot of people-- - You can answer both ways. - Okay, of course, Ken. - So how do I like to give it? - Yeah, what's your love language? - God, wait, I don't know. - Well, love English, do you speak? There's words of affirmation, physical touch. - Okay. - There is-- - Quality time. - Quality time. - And you said words of affirmation. - Encouraging word. - Okay, and this is how I show love. - What's that? - Show love for how long-- - Yes, yes, how you show love. - I think words of affirmation-- - Yes, you are words of affirmation. - You're so good. - It's my love language, what can I say? - I think it's definitely mine too. - Yeah, you think so. - But I also do with lovers, physical touch, it is part of it for me, definitely for sure. - I mean, but also, it's not just like I need physical touch, it's like that's the way of showing love or receiving love. - Yes, well, you talked about your husband's barrel chest earlier, about how you love to get tactile with them. - I love to get-- - I love getting it. - You ever punches chest from your-- - Yes, totally. - I think I did yesterday. - Oh, that's fun. - Hell yeah, with the brass ring. - Yeah. - What was this? - Just kind of like warming up for a punch. (laughs) - Oh yeah, I think, I think that's why I oughta. - Yeah, a little bit of a way. - I oughta do a way. - I oughta do a way. I oughta so bad. - I'm not gonna do a show do a way out of it. - Can you believe we got karate chop by Miss Piggy? - What a moment from God above. - He took one right in the kidney. - I mean, what a moment. - Yeah, that was amazing. - That is, I mean, there's too many things to say like, if you could tell Little Matt and Bowen, but that one is actually like, go back even for them. That's actually like, life doesn't make sense. That's like seven years old. - It's true, no, it's crazy. And every single time we were watching it in the edit, I go, she's the most beautiful woman. - She's the most beautiful woman in the world. - She's really graceful. And in person, she's a lot more self-spoken than you think. - Very, very self-spoken. - Very, very shy. - Oh my God. Yeah, she has a grace about her. - Yeah. - And elegance. - She's actually never really raising her voice. - No, she's, I mean-- - That's not, that's not, that's not, that's just the pitch. - That's not like, it's really more than, exactly. - Yeah. - It's really, really, really good. - Well, you have to know, so we were in the right room, like, like, all writing the Miss Piggy copy, writing the Miss Piggy bit. There was so much anxiety passed around about like, who was gonna do it? Like, because it's like daunting. - Oh, tell me, you can't just say the words. - Well, when I ended up taking the first pass on the copy, and then when we were reading it, it was another level of anxiety about who was gonna perform as Miss Piggy. - And we all did like take turns, 'cause you kinda have to do it as her to make sure it's working. - The rhythm, yeah, so much about it. - But it was a fun opportunity, but I think one of the most vulnerable. - I bet. - 'Cause you want to convince you it. - If you like, fuck around with it, it's not, it's not doing what you're setting out to do. It's almost like-- - Yes, yes. - Probably when you're rehearsing your songs, you're like, I don't want to just like pretend to sing it. We got to sing it. - Yeah. It's like, it's like, if you're. We're reading for like Julie Andrews. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I don't know any of me. - That's her own next year. - The Queen will have her own. But she, God, I'm gonna speak. I feel like I was relinquishing my a Miss Piggy impression. - Yeah, who did, who like nailed it? - Matt, for sure. - I was pretty good at it. - I'm so sorry. - But I, I, I, I, oh, Kermie. - Oh, Kermie. - Wow. - Really good. - But I did, I did this when Amy Polo was here, but my favorite Miss Piggy's sort of sound by Stim is from Upper Christmas Carol. When she is the only person in the whole fucking movie to yell, to scream at Scrooge. - Yeah. - And when Scrooge is coming, you know, over to, to, to, to crotchets to apologize. - Yeah. - She freaks out, rightfully. She goes. - You were believing you had what? - Oh, my God, that's so, that's so like in my soul. Hearing that, I'm like, - You were believing you had what? - Oh, that's so good. - And that once is so stunky, big, big, big, I once. And you will be leaving here at once. - At once. - She's so in charge. - Like that, she, I wanna do an out, I wanna tell someone at once. - Yes, totally. - And I wanna tell someone why I oughta. - Oh my God, I've never told anybody at once. And I want to. I've never used it. - I've used this done. - At once. - At once. - Oh my God, we should all kind of commit to doing that at least once in the next month. - I wanna, let me just test this out. - All right. - Yeah, test it out. - Shut the fuck up at once. - Okay, weird, but I like that. - Yeah, it's okay. 'Cause at once, you want at once to hit hard. And once you said shut the fuck up, all I'm thinking about is the cuss word, the cuss. - Right, I wonder if it's like, like, God, how would you do that? - And I'm like, what are you doing at once? - Okay, yeah. - Why are you typing? - What are you typing? - Why are you working on? - What's shit in an at once? - What are you typing at once? - At once. - What is going on? - How would you use it? - What is going on at once? - It has to be-- - It was a real question, as well. I wanna know what you guys are doing at once. - At once. - You're working? - Interesting. - We're working. I think it works. - We're always working. - We're always working on that. - No, I feel bad. - No, I feel like we're trying to make one single moment off, and then you get on my head. - I feel like so now I'm working. - Of course shit amongst the straw and whatever that you're doing. - Yeah. - And all that shit. - Eat some hay at once. - Love that. - Really? - Hey, why don't you kick rocks at once? - At once. - Oh, I love kick rocks. - I love kick rocks. - So it has to be like-- - Let's have sex at once, if you can send. - At once a clock, if it's okay with you, I would like to have sex at once. - It has to be like, I mean, nothing beats, get out of here at once. - Get out of here at once. - And you will be leaving at once. Get out of here at once. Do this at once. It's like, get out of here at once. - At once. - You will be leaving at once. - Yeah, yeah. Go get me that answer at once. - Yes. - Yeah. - Did Miranda previously ever say at once? - She doesn't need to. - No. - She says that's all. - No, the most aggressive from the first movie, at least, 'cause I feel like it's more in me. - Sure. - She goes, the iconocline of just, if you don't have that Harry Potter book. - Don't even bother coming back. - Is there a way we could put at once in there? - If you don't have that Harry Potter book at once, don't even bother coming back. - And they were, who was it, what's her name? - Ann Hathaway. - No, but what's her name? - Andrea? - Marielle Street. - Andy, Andy, Andy, yeah. - Yeah, the Marielle's are Andrea, yeah. - She goes, she'd be like, I don't know. She'd be kind of muttering like, she'd be like, she'd say, I don't know what's, yeah. Oh yeah, yeah, okay. She'd be like, oh shit, she said I don't know what's. - She'd be like. Ann Hathaway was so good at the subtle exasperation that a romantic comedy heroine has to carry the subtle exasperation, which is important. - It's very this vibe. - Yeah, yeah, totally. Well like, yeah. - Don't do that. - Oh. - Did you see Devil Wars product too? You loved it. - You loved it. - You did. - You did. - We did. - We did. - So, yeah. - Should we do a Meisner for a second? - Yeah, okay, okay. - Should we do it with three person Meisner? - Yeah. - One, two, three. - Someone, anyone at all, say a three word phrase. - Yeah. - Go ahead. - I'm like, do it at once. - At once. - Do it at once. Do it at once. - I don't want to say it's like four left. - That's okay, that's okay. - Let's get this red. - Okay, let's get this red, ready? Let's get this red. - And my mirror. - And my mirror. - No, never. - But you, you really went there. - Yeah, I love acting, I love it. - I don't want to do this. - I want to act. - I love when I get to do that in here. - In here. - We want to do that with this. - With this. - The plot is just, you know, it's like you set it up for years to be able to do that. - Yes! - Oh my God, they're so right. - On pod. - On pod. - On pod. - And that's on pod. - And that's on pod. - Yeah! - Have you ever noticed Eddie Bryant does this with her hands? - Yes. - She points with all five fingers. - Totally, totally. - She does this. - Totally. - We're watching the cut. And she's just like. - Yeah, what did she say? - Any of you. - Yes, it's so good. - Pointing is, she's a pointer. - But she points with all five fingers open in a hand like that. - Yes. - She's like, what's your pointing technique? What's your point, sir? - You, you wiggle. - I'm so like, I don't know how crazy my hands are. I think I'm, I mean, now I'm aware, but I think I don't realize how much I'm talking with my hands, but that's not pointing. - No, no, no, no, no, no. - I think generally just, just accumulating whatever you want. - While the end. - I'm this culture. - Yes, you are. - I am a point, like, it's a, you know, a straight line but a bent at the wrist. - Do you remember that kind of thing in theater school when you would sort of like do this and the director would be like, do that? - Wait, what do you mean? - Okay, so like you would, (laughs) - We didn't go to theater school. - We didn't go to theater school. - Yeah. - Okay. - My's nerd though. - My's nerd. - No, I, well, I know. - I didn't say we shouldn't have been in it. (laughs) I said we weren't. (laughs) (laughs) - Let's go back to theater school. - Okay. - Theater universities. - Do you think Yale School of Drama would take me about now? - I do, absolutely. - You do. - They should be so-- - What would be your guys' monologues to audition for the Yale School of Drama today? - Yeah. - I would do the 10 things I hate about your monologues by doing styles. - Yeah, that's right, really good. - So good. I would do-- - It would be like, (laughs) - No, you'd kill it. (laughs) I would do like, just, okay, a two person scene but take out all of the other lines, okay? - Right. - I would do just Ross's line in the like breakup scene with him and Jennifer Aniston. - Wow! (laughs) - That's great. - And I would have to make it work. So all of her lines would be gone. So I'd be giving them something they'd never seen before. - I would do Aaron Brockovich in the beginning when she's trying, when she's going through her resume. - God damn. - It's really good, but she's like-- - I'd love to see that. - She has no medical experience, but I did, what is she, she was like, but I did work in like, a dentist's office in Irvine or something. And like, she has a great monologue which she's trying to like apply for this. - No, no, no. - You came up with something better. - Also from Aaron Brockovich, which is a small world from choice when she's in the courtroom and then like, the lawyer's like grilling her and then it ends with her. Just like, it's such a small-- - That asshole smash! - My fucking neck! - Good job, you guys are so good at that thing. You just-- - Well, he came around the corner like a bad out of hell. - Wow, when was the last time you saw that movie? - Not soon enough. - And not soon enough, but why not soon enough? - And I recently, and I'm not recently, but it wasn't that long. - But you loved to see it at once. - We did watch it recently. - I would watch it tonight. - Oh, that's actually a really good idea. - That's actually just the fact that you guys have the, your brains are so good. You, yes, because you have that Aaron Brockovich monologue, you both do and you have countless other fucking monologues in your head at all times. - This was the monologue that sealed the deal for me in Matt and the year, I would say, 2013. - Okay. - It was me. - I could-- - I didn't know what to help. I cut his out of that wire. I didn't know what to help, man. And now, I thought I was a surgeon, but I can't. - I thought I was a surgeon, but I'm not. - So I quit. - Issy. - I knew it. I knew it was Grace. - Grace. - Grace has so much good stuff in that town. - Those first few seasons. - Oh, see you. - And I'm sure it just gets better. - No, I know. - But you know, you stop when you stop. - Yeah. - You're sure, Grizzanandmi gets better and better. - I'm sure it gets better and better every day. - That's what I'm gonna say. - Sure, great, that'd be a better, better. - You stop when you stop. And when I stop, I really, what? - Your turn, sorry, go. - Of what? - Monologue. - But I don't know. I mean, I, like, I-- - Well, the time is now, this is the Yale School of Drop-Oggish and Honey. - Okay, um. - Can be one of your own. - And we're two very severe gay men who are not gonna make this easy. - What would, like monologue, monologue? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah. - I know. I never really have that monologue. - The top teen monologue. - Yeah. - It was, like, teen monologue. - And they were also, like, again, not to theater school you, but they would always be, like, don't look in those books. - Yeah. - Like, those are overdone. I remember the first monologue I did in high school. I had just read a book. This is kind of timely. I had just read the book, Girl Interrupted, which is now going to Broadway or on Broadway. - Oh, wow. - It was just a book. This is a book before the movie. It was just a book about a girl that went to a goddamn place where they make you feel better. - They interrupted her. - Yeah, they interrupted her. She was like, get out of here once. - Yeah. - But they, you know, 'cause they kept interrupting her. - Right. - They said, get out of here once and go to a mental hospital. - Yeah. - But she was mid-sentent. - The first monologue, the first page, I want to say, is what I did. - That's amazing. - Yeah, like I took it straight out of the book. - That's cool. - I just remember being like, no one's ever done this before. And then they made it into it. It felt so like, you know, I felt really like, no one will ever know anything about it. I am so unique. And then it was made into a movie. And then it was made into a play. And it clearly had, it clearly had a path. - I'm getting Alison Williams' cool girl award vibes from you. - I'm not. - Don't make any promises. - Yeah, I'm not. - I'm not promising anything. - We haven't even seen what happens on Bravo next year. - Yeah. - Yeah, but can you become a Bravo It girl by next year? - Yes. - Okay. - If anyone I know can become a Bravo It girl, it's Darcy Carter. - How would you, how would you-- - Just sweating. - Okay, so are you sweating because it's like, you know it's a lot of pressure. - It's a lot of pressure. It's like two diamonds. - It's like one diamond. - It's like a way it's like one diamond. - It's like pushing two diamonds together. So much pressure. - Oh. - It's like. - Oh! - Ouch. - How am I supposed to become a diamond like this? Connie, there must be another way. (laughing) That's my impression of a diamond. Something becoming a diamond. I'll be like, oh my god. This is so hard. - I have to do this. - This is almost as hard as me. - When this process is complete. You know I'm the hardest substance. - Yeah, that's it. - Because right now I'm just what, coal? - Ugh. Honey. - Or whatever. - Any coal is a go. - Oh yeah. - Oh yeah. - By the way, is that factual? Does coal become diamond? - Can you guys look that up at once? - Just carbon. Anything with carbon. - Okay, so maybe like a soda? - Yeah. - A carbon-aided soda. - What's the best soda? - Diamonds are not made of coal. - What are they made of? - What the hell? - Carbon. - A whole sedimentary rock. I guess doesn't have carbon. - Oh, interesting. So this is a wives tale. - Oh my god. - Sedimentary. - Yeah. - Sed you. - Sed you. - Sed you. - Sed we can trust you Becca. - Sedimentary. - Sedimentary. - It her name is Mengery. - I want a young wives tale for fucking lives. - Oh my god. Per ones. - We're just gonna say I want a young wife. - I want a young wife too. - Yeah. - I want a young, I don't mind being warm right now, do I look like I'm sweating? - You look stunning. - Okay. - It's so hot in here. - It's so fun. - I'm wearing a sleeveless shirt. - It's so fun and fine. And I want to be here forever. But as long as it's not sweat, - No girl. - And if it is viewers at home, enjoy it. - Wait, oh my god. It works to sweat because it's July 8th. - It is July 9th. - It is July 9th. - We have the day before. - It's July 8th. - Today is July 8th the day before the show. - Unless you're listening on July 9th in which case it's July 9th. - Right. - This is coming out on July 8th, a really hot time. - It's such a hot time. It's one of the hottest times in, well, not the world. Have you ever been to Australia? - July 8th. - It's July 8th. - It is cool. - Yeah, it's rough. - Yeah, it's not so bad. - It's not so bad. - They flip it, they flip it, they flip it. - But they do flip it, flop it. - Yeah, yeah. - Where will you be on July 8th when this comes out? And July 9th when the show comes out? Do you know what your schedule is? - Yeah, they do. - What is it? - On July 8th, we have last night. We had, no, no, tonight, I had the premiere. - Yeah. - Love that. - In New York City, right in Los Angeles, in the Tar Bits, in the Tar Bits. - In the Tar Bits. - We come out of the Tar, the five of us. - That would be a guy. - Well, we're going to be on a platform under the tar, and then when it's time for us to enter there, the platform is going to be in the tar. - You rise out of the tar. - That's what it's called. - It's amazing. - Like Lydia Tars. - Like five Lydia Tars. - And then what are you doing the next day? - Five little Lydia Tars. - I have a little Lydia Tars. - Okay, and then on the day that it comes out tomorrow. - Yeah. - I think I have pressed tomorrow, but God-- - Who are you excited to see? - Oh, you know. - The usual. - The Mark Malkins. - The Malkins. - Yeah, he'll be there. - The Cameron. - The Cameron. - He's growing his hair out. - I noticed. - Yeah. - Right. - All the guys are growing their hair out. - Yeah, actually. - Jared's growing his hair out. - Mm-hmm. - I want to say. - Jared, who? - I entered him in Weekly Jared. - Oh, oh, yeah, yeah. - Yeah, that's good. - That's good. - Do you? - Yeah, I do, actually. - I mean, that would be cute. You can pull it all off. - Thanks. - You can pull off. - Don't pull out the hair. - Don't pull it out. - Pull it off. - Pull it off. - You can pull off. - I think I'm going to do it. - I'm going to grow out. - I'm going to do it. - I have to shoot something this month. And then after that. - Yes, you do. - I'm going blank. - You can say. - Yeah, yeah. It's out. Unless it's something else. - I'm a Mr. Smith. - It's so exciting. - I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Bignero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, "You smiled at us, not a lot of people smile around here." - It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I just remember this low taunting voice next to my ear saying, "Shut up, don't say anything." Every week, I'm with survivors who lived through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Each week we talk to someone in show business, aka The Biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. I actually, can you help me, can you help me shape this? No. How about we flip this around? Okay. And what if the surprise one, man, who actually you think is the straight man, is actually the one who's acting weird? Adam Scott. Love. This entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show, I would never let go of that. I have. Yeah. I would never set expectations for something like that. It sounds like if the universe allows for something like that to happen. Yeah. I am open to it. I'm always going to accept. Okay. That's right. Fine. Yeah. It's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I was like, I was like, I was like, is that what you need? Nope. It's fragile masculinity. Yeah. Ben Stiller. No. I think there's a lot of times out of context. People don't get it.
or even know what a circle is. Like, girl, I go work just so stupid. - Uh, everyone's so dumb. - And fake. - Right, fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. - And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. - Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Who are the spice girls among the five? - Yeah, we gotta do it. - I think you're sporty. It's all been leading up to this. I was gonna say you're sporty too. - Okay, okay, okay. - Okay, hold on. - And you're good with that. - Yeah, I'm good with that. - I'm gonna say all love. I think, you wanna say Chloe's posh, but I think Chloe's scary. - And I think that Gemma is posh. - Gemma is posh. - Gemma is posh, Gemma is posh, Gemma is posh, Gemma is posh. - Gemma is, Regina might be, Regina is baby. - She's a baby. - No, I think Regina feels like ginger to me and is Jennifer Garner somehow baby? Jennifer Garner somehow, baby. - I mean, then again, if Jennifer Garner is the lead. - I know, then who is that? - Does that make her ginger? - I don't, but I think that. - But the, just, I don't wanna, I don't wanna, it's a posh, I don't wanna, I don't wanna, I don't wanna, it's a posh, number is there anything? - It's not posh, it's vibes. - It's vibes. - It's okay. - So then I'm like, is she? - 'Cause Jennifer Garner's vibe is kind of sporty. - I know, I actually think she might be. - You're a baby, you're a baby. - But I don't know, I'm also like, am I scary? - Baby. - Yeah. And I think Regina Ginger and I think Jen's sporty. Jen is sporty. - You think Jen is sporty. - She can jump up on that table right now, slayer ass. - No, she's worse. - And she's making chicken mums. - I've seen Jared Devil, I've seen Elias. - She can still do that right this second. - You think so? - She rides her bike around the God, she doesn't take the, you know, she's still. - Oh yeah. - Electra, really? - Yeah. - You know, you get in the van to go to set. - Yep. - She's like, I'll meet you there, I'm gonna bike there. - Oh! - She's sporty. - Damn, her makeup probably just presents that. - They love her. - Oh okay, there you go. - They say, you know, with Jen, she's gonna bike to set. So this is her touchups take a little bit longer, but we love her. - But we love her. - She gets there and looks even better. - Yeah. - That's what they know. - She got us, she got us a bon-me truck today. - Yeah, she got us a bon-me truck today. - Was there ever a bon-me truck? - I'm sure there was. - I love bon-me. - We got a lot, I love bon-me truck. - I love Vietnamese chicken. - So do I. - Yes. - I really do. - I do as well, that's why I said it. And that's also why I said it in the notes at once. - You noticed I said it at once? - I love bon-me at once. - I want to bon-me at once. - Should we do a bon-me episode of The Podcast? - And what is that? - What would that be? - Podcast Bon-me. - That might be title of app. - Wait. - Podcast Bon-me. - What's going on? - You don't like that. - What's that mean? - It's just sort of sitting here wondering, I don't understand. - Podcast Bon-me. - Podcast Bon-me. - I don't know it's title of, but it might, the name to podcast Bon-me. - What do you think of us changing our podcast name to just a lost culture? - Ooh, no. Do you want to? - I don't know. - Why? - I don't know. - I just think it's kind of fierce. - I mean, do it then. - Yeah. - Like. - This is the thing about Lost Cultureistas. And no fucking television show on this earth knows how to pronounce it. - Can I say it? - My dad can. He says, Lost Cultureistas. - Lost Cultureistas. - Lost Cultureistas. - That is so funny. I had a nice moment with your dad at the show. - He told me he comes over to me and he goes, I love Darsing, you know. She said, you guys have known each other for 10 years. - Yeah. - And I was like, oh my God, I guess that's true. - It is true. - And then he goes, nice to meet you. And I go, we've met before. And he goes, what? And I was like, we had a phone call. - Yes. - And he finished the sentence. - So sweet. - He was like, the phone call. - Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. - I was just such a hit with everybody. - Did you see his chain? - Of course I did. But also, I don't think it, I'm sure it didn't mean the cut. I mean, we all watched it. Did it make the cut? - I don't think it made the cut. - Because it wasn't even on. - My dad was wearing an iconic chain with his initials on it. - But at one point, in this sort of intermission, like commercial break. - Yeah, we shouted it out. - Matt said. - Give it up for my dad's chain. - Give it up for my dad's necklace. - Yeah, my dad's necklace. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Because he actually looked like fashion on 10. Like, blazer over a t-shirt with a chain. - Yeah, you look great. - You look great. - In fact, I loved it so much that you said that, that I was like, I wonder if it would work if when you come out, when me, Darby comes out. - I call myself Darby. - Darby. - When I come out to the microphone, should I say, like, and everybody give it up for Matt's dad's necklace, but will that totally ruin the band? - It would have worked in the room. - It would have been cut in that such a pro. - It would have been cut ass. - Yes. - But you would have given it clean. - Yeah. - You would have given us a clean line. - Totally. - It would have been for you guys. - I'm just saying, we do it live one year maybe. - Yeah. - He really wants to do it live. - Oh, a lot. I'm like, you have. I see what you're saying. Yeah. - It's hard to me. - It sounds like a fucking nightmare. - No, actually, well, this is the thing. I don't know about that. - What are you? You didn't have to do anything. You didn't have, like, it's practically the same thing. - It's practically perfect in every way, Mary Poppin style. - Yes. And I just want people to, like, kind of like, we should all just experience it together. - Totally. I think it could be live, and I think you guys would thrive. - Scary vibes. - Yeah, also scary. It's like, if you don't have to, you don't have. You don't, if you don't, I mean. - I think we have a couple more years of doing it to tape. - Yeah. - And I think the next move for the show, fingers crossed, knock wood is to do it in the NYC. - Okay, yeah, I think so too. - I think that that would be-- - You have live up the butt because of-- - Yeah, he's got live up the butt. - Yeah, he's got live up the butt. - And I'm telling you, it is such a fun, really great. - Oh, interesting. - It's the scariest fucking thing, but it's so fun. - Do you think they've ever done anything live? - I've done, like, well, I guess the SNL carpet was live. - Yeah. - I've done my life. - Oh, I've done it here. - I've done it in Jenna, that's why. - That's why, exactly. - You've done this. - I like live. - It's not that I don't want and I'm excited by live. It's just that I know the show is so-- - Yeah, yeah. - It's a lot of fun. - I would hate to lose opportunities to do things because it was live. - It's a good step in the middle. - I've been sitting here for five hours with my legs crossed like a little child. - Are they dead? - No, they're alive. - But they're alive. - Wee! - But just like Chris Cross applesauce. - Yeah. - I mean. - Woo! - Kindergarner. - Kindergarner. - Kindergarner. - Kindergarner. - Kindergarner. - Kindergarner at once. - You know it's crazy. - It's kind of forgotten. - Gender for gardener. You know what's a crazy word that is German? - Yeah. - Warm. - Huh? - The word warm is German. It's like, oh, well, yeah, sure. That word is, you know, romance language. - Right, right. - That word is, you know, this. Warm is just German, y'all. - And what does it mean? - Warm. - Got, okay, cool. - I know, I'm just learning German, I do a language. - But you just want to share. - But I'm just learning German and I do a language. - Yeah, I'm learning German and I do a language. - But I'm learning German and I do a language. - To something? - No, to two. - Some on some topic. - It's really a thesis. - It is. - Statement that gets followed up on. - Brutally. - Brutally. Brutalists. - Yeah, something. - It's a brutalist segment. - It's a brutalist. I do have something. - I really used to say 60 seconds to rant on. - I try to make it different every time. - I know. You know what's funny? I was thinking back so long ago, there was like, at least, an episode where we, where we, where you didn't do, I don't think so, honey, and you tried something else. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Is this something else? - Yeah, when you were like, year two or something. - Yeah, we're gonna try this one this time, along the lines. - We did a positive day with Mike Kelton, and we did, I think, so, honey. - Oh, funny, funny, funny, funny, that's fun, that's so cute. - And he did, you wanna know what that was? Actually, that was very fortuitous day, 'cause he said, I think, so, honey, Maggie Rogers. - Wow. - Like, who's that? He was like, she is an unbelievable saying you have to check her out. - And he's right. - Let's just say we checked her out. - And let's just say, the world checked her out. - Yeah, and she's gonna come on the pod this year and I would love her to take out an acoustic guitar and strum a strum song. - Did you ever listen to "Last Coach" when we used to do the musical episodes? - God, like a, wait, like a long time ago, - We don't have, like a musical improv. - Artists, no artists come and like, say so. - And they would play. I don't, I don't think I ever heard, but, it's quick. - Nice. - But also, maybe I did. But I feel like I'd remember that. You have artists. - We did that several times, we did. - Where you would have, if the person was a singer, you'd have them say. - Like, Kat Cohen did it once. - Yeah, okay, okay. - Yeah, okay, okay. - Kat Cohen did it once. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Like people, like Larry Owens did it. - Larry Owens did it. - And would you want to do this again? - Maybe. - I don't know what would be fun to do it with actually, 'cause I want them to come on at some point and we already have to like, change the setup, 'cause this three of them is high. - Yeah, that'd be fun. I bet they don't love that. - I love it. - But I can't believe they've never been on. - I know, 'cause they're sort of a three, they're sort of a trio. - They've got it. - They've got people harder to nail down. - And we're sort of a duo. - That's a five-o. - That's a sinko, baby, we call that a sinko. - We go. All right, everybody, here we go. - This is Matt Rodgers, and I don't think so many times starts now. Just based on the Rotten Tomatoes score, deciding we're not seeing that anymore, especially when we have plans to see the film. - We have plans. - I understand. - You understand? No, I'm just saying, 'cause actually what happened was we were excited to see Scary Movie 6, and then it had a 28% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it caused a lot of discord amongst people that were attending the film. And I thought, okay, well, we can't just base it on the Rotten Tomatoes. - No, no. - Because how many times do we love a movie that has a very low Rotten Tomatoes score? - I need it. - You know what I'm saying? Like, probably a lot of comedies, too, which are looked at as disposable. I'm actually really interested, it hasn't come out yet, but I really hope that stopped that train and gets amazing reviews, 'cause it is so good. - Yes. - But sometimes comedies just get the shorter under the stage.
And I don't think so, honey, that that is cool. And I certainly don't want to be a part of an audience that is bailing on these comedies, knowing that that is true. Mind you, I did hear some things about the movie that make me less inclined to see it, but the thing is like, I don't know. I do think so, honey, until y'all are like, I don't think so, honey, and then it makes me feel like a little bit sad just based on Rotten Tomatoes. - And that's one minute, totally. - I did just hear it wasn't that funny. - Okay, well, we'll be the judge of that. And as long as you're letting Regina Hall be dry, - Truly. - Well, that's my thing is it's like, ultimately, that's why I don't always trust Rotten Tomatoes. - Yeah, that's good. - Because if Regina Hall is in something for me, you add 50 points to any Rotten Tomatoes score. - I realized I haven't seen any of the movies that they're gonna be satirizing this time, whereas back in the day, I was still watching a lot of the movies that they were satirizing. - I feel like it is like recognizing the thing. - And so then I realized like, oh, that might be a reason. Once I realized, 'cause I did read a couple of reviews, like, oh, these are the movies that are the riffs. Maybe that's a reason why I'm not inclined to go. - Are you just going to a movie boy? No, I know this about you. - Deeply not, right, and you are. - I am always curious about them. I'm begging on my hands and knees that we go see back rooms or obsession, but it's a lot. - Jason's, well, whatever, just see him. - Well, what Jason said was about Rotten Tomatoes, you right now. - I make him see movies and tell you. - Yeah, the scary movies, like kind of detail for detail. - I can't with explicit violence. And especially when it doesn't make any, when it doesn't need to happen. - Yeah, yeah. - I guess like, it just like upsets me and bumps me out. And when it comes out of nowhere too, which just feels like careless to me. - Like cheap. - Totally, and an assault. - Yeah, yeah, but smart horror, I actually really enjoy. - Same. - I always see Jordan Peel's movies. - Yeah, so weapons, but I got like a minute by minute playback. - Sure, sure, sure. - Play by play. - And then there's just one moment in weapons that I think you would hate. And that's it. - Yeah. - The famous scene. - Yeah. - And you'd have to leave. - And you'd have to leave before then. - Yeah. - And that'd be fine. - But bathrooms doesn't have violence in it. - Yeah. - But I heard that it has something. - Oh, never mind. - Well, you know what, a Bowen Yang's, I don't think so on hanging is gonna have comedy in it, as well as insight. - I know about that. Those are both debatable. Let's do it. - Well, let's live in a world where we have belief. This is Bowen Yang's, I don't think so on he is. Time's such now. - I don't think so on he calling it a full fat Coke. I've got a can right here. Let's look at the fat content, shall we? - Yeah. - Total fat. Zero grams. Cut that shit out at once. I said, die Coke has zero. That's Y-Claw Hunt. - Yeah, has zero grams of fat. - I understand what we're doing. We're making cutesy about, you know, dying. Full fat. It's not like that. - No. - The diet thing is actually cute little holdover from the '80s or something such. 30 seconds. - Full fat Coke. Call it full shug. - Right. - Call it 30 milligram sodium Coke. - Call it that. - That's crazy. - That's actually crazy. - It's a long walk. - Sodium in this? - Ooh. Anyway. - You did what? What? You didn't know there'd be sodium in this? - I didn't know there'd be 15 sodium in this. - It's actually 25 grams of carbs. - Okay, call it that. - Call it that. Oh, I shouldn't have had this. - Oops, now that I think about it. - Oops, but I have had five seconds. I had to talk about it at 11 p.m. last night. - Oh, what? - Oh, I'm putting good things in my body. - And that's your time. - But yeah, but you know, now that we're done with the show that we're being garbage cans. - I mean, that's, I like that moment. - We had pizza. They had the nights. - It was a loser time. - I would have that again tonight. - Lucifer's rock. - Lucifer's rock. - Yeah. - Rock. - I fucking love you, Lucifer. - Lucifer's the best. - The devil. - The devil. - Lucifer's worship, the devil. - I love. - Years ago, one time I was flirty DMing with whoever runs their social. - And if you're still running it, he's taken now. - Back off. - Back off. You better not speak to me again. - Unless you're talking about pepperoni and sausage. - Pepperoni and sausage. - But not that kind of pepperoni and sausage. - If there's anyone I would flirt with on a mascot level, it would be the pizza demon. - Ooh. - And that is Lucifer. - You hear that, devil? Back off me. Go to Bowen. - Oh my God, the pizza demon. - It's pizza. It's the demon. - You've had Lucifer's. - I've had Lucifer's. - You gotta get it with buffalo sauce and pepperoni. - It's so spicy. - So spicy, but it's good. - Ooh. - Makes me want to say. - Saying. - Makes me want to do a little vocal run. - Do you take vocal lessons? - Yeah. - I haven't taken one in a long time, but I took one like, maybe five years ago. - Was that Eric Fietro? - Yes. - Actually, yeah. - Oh yeah, that's the icon. - Like Ari's guy? - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - That's amazing. - He's one of the top guys. - It was a great lesson. Keep doing this, you idiot, and I didn't do it. - No, yeah. - It's one of those things. - Sure, it's like, I keep punctured. It's like, oh yeah, I keep doing this for it to get better. - But it was great. - I always say, I'm gonna do it year-round 'cause I start in October to start getting ready for Christmas and I always stop doing it in January and then I lose it until we have to get ready for the cultural wars. But it would be a great thing to aspire to to have that like a regular part of life. 'Cause it's like therapy. - I know. And when you're doing it, are you doing it once a week, once a month by week? - When I'm doing it, I'm doing it a few times a week. - Holy Christmas. - Holy Christmas. - But I also love it. Like I said, it is, it does feel like additional therapy. Sometimes I go and I won't realize I need this, but I'll just end up talking the whole time. 'Cause I'm like, you know, needing to like work through something or, you know, whatever. - Whatever. - You're about to do a vocal run, Darcy Carton. - Okay, I am. - This is Darcy Carton's, I don't think so when your her time starts now. - Okay. I don't think so, honey, that the kitchen, that the room of the kitchen. It continues to be dirty. You clean it very well. - Which, the whole gag. - Not but a day later, stains upon the floor once again. And all you did was get some yogurt. It's not like you made a big, very, very hot kind of bubbling crawl, your nannas and milk nannos. - It's 30 seconds. - No, you simply put a slop of yogurt in a bowl. - No. - And then suddenly, covered, and you have to once again, reach for the mop. (all laughing) And I don't think so, honey, that room has got an attitude. It needs to figure itself, why are you so many seconds? - I would like, I would like that room to take a note from bed, living bath even. The last noise from you, kitchen. I don't think it's so, honey, you're filthy. - And that's why. - Kill them all. (all laughing) - How do you know it? - You listen to it all the time. - I, it is deep in my soul. - That didn't really work. - It moved. - Kill them all. - Kill them all. (all laughing) - This is terrible. - This is terrible. - Kill them. - This is terrible. - Kill them all. (all laughing) - They were also so good in the show. - They were so good. - They were the most funniest. - Wow. - This is the funniest. - They are so funny. - You are a slay for that. - You are. - Would you notice his point? - You, oh my god. - I just, I'm sorry. - He does this. Okay, here's, wait, here's you. Here's you, and here's me in theater school. - Ah! - When prompted. - When prompted. - I still don't understand the difference between this and this. - Maybe naturally you'd be like, and you over there and your teacher would be like, point. - Point. - And you over there. - Wow. - I'm drawing an impact. - To you at home. - And I'm pointing to you at home. - And I am saying, you know, I'm gonna point you to your remote control tomorrow that is July 9th, if you're listening to "Thon July 8th" because the five star weekend, you're gonna be checking in to a five star experience. - Oh, that's really good. - That's really good. - You guys, I love you. - I love you. - Do you know how much we love you? And also, do you know that like when we were leaving, again, today we picture locked the cultural wards so we're excited. So we got a glass of champagne at the end and we said we were coming here and the whole post crew was like, "Please tell her that we love her." - Oh, oh, sorry. That's so nice. - Yeah, it's just true. - A lot of love. - A lot of love. - A lot of love. - That's so nice. That's so nice. That's so nice. I love you guys. - We love you. - I talk about you all the time. Wait, I do wanna say something that I said 500 times to interviewers in almost the Lady Gaga when there's one in the room sort of way. But I'm gonna say it again, which is that. The show that you guys put on is the exact same show that you would have done in the UCB Basement in New York City. It is joke for joke. You stick to what you know is funny. You don't sell out to anybody. It is a weird comedy show that you guys are doing with Uber celebrities. It's insane. There is no reason it should work as well as it does. But the fact that it does is because you guys are sticking true to who you are. And you're not selling out and you're not letting anybody tell you what to do. It's unbelievable. - That's very nice. - When I say it's rare, I mean, it doesn't exist. It exists just for you guys. That's it. - Thank you at once. - Thank you. - Thank you at once. - Is this title of "At Once"? - Oh, it is. - What was the first sentence that came? Miss Piggy? - Miss Piggy. You will be leaving at once. - So it should be just all caps at once. - At once. - At once. - At once. I love you at once. - I love you at once. - I just love you at once. - You really were troopers today. And I want you to know that I love you at once. - We love you at once. - All right, well, we end every episode with the song. - Of course.
I'm just gonna go to the end. No, I was gonna say Stream Moona, but that one wasn't Stream Moona at one. Lost Cultures is the production by Will Ferrell's Big Money Players in a Heart Radio Podcast.
