Astral Projection, Mimics, & Duendes || Ghosteas Tea Party #122

The podcast features a live reading of paranormal stories submitted by patrons, blending personal experiences with deep emotional and spiritual reflections. Stories range from sleep paralysis and shadow figures to encounters with spirits in homes and dreams, often tied to toxic relationships or feelings of isolation. A recurring theme is the connection between negative emotions—like anger, fear, or loneliness—and paranormal manifestations, with some listeners interpreting these as manifestations of spiritual entities reacting to emotional tension. One story involves a child entering a yard near a well, leading to a dangerous moment when the family finds the child asleep nearby, raising questions about whether the well sought companionship. Another tale from a dorm room describes a figure entering a bedroom at night, which the listener believes was not their roommate, suggesting spirit mimicry or a deeper presence. The hosts discuss spiritual beliefs, including ancestral protection and the idea that spirits may appear as mental images or feelings rather than physical forms. Community and shared experiences are emphasized as vital, offering emotional support to those navigating the unseen. The episode concludes with a promotional segment for Lola blankets, a cozy product offered at a discounted rate through a special code, and a tease of an upcoming episode featuring Reddit stories and costume fun. The tone remains intimate, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in the shared experience of ghost stories as a form of emotional release and connection.

Hi, Ghosties. I'm Macy. And I'm Natalie. And today we have something a little different for you guys. We're going to be reading some stories from our patrons over on Patreon. They have some really great stories as usual, like shadow figures, um, sleep paralysis, maybe some guardian ancestors thrown in their bed. Oh yeah, it's a good one. It was a spooky one. It really was. And we pre-recorded it already. This is why it's going to be different because this was a live recording over on Patreon. We wanted to share their stories with them live. And so we're bringing it over here for you guys to enjoy as well. So you might see us talking a little differently. And Natalie, I'm on my phone, like the whole time watching the chat. I was cringing watching it back thinking about all the people that are going to skip the intro of the video and go straight to story one. They're not even going to know and they're just going to think, wow, she's so rude because you're talking the whole time. And I'm like this. Yeah, but it's because I was engaging with the chat. It was for good reason. Yes. So if you do want to join our Patreon, it's linked in the description is patreon.com/ghosties. You can join in on other lives like that and be in our chat. Otherwise, we are bringing you those stories today. So we hope that you are prepared for a good fright. Have your tea ready. Your blankets, everything. And we'll go ahead and get started. So many good stories from McKinna. Hi, ghosty gals. I've sent a few other stories to you girls and I'm not sure if you've gotten to them yet. I'm sure you have a billion emails a day. I'm just going to jump right in the women in my family are extremely sensitive and we have always had spirits, shadows, dreams and just spooky things surrounding us. My nanny has had many things happen to her and she has a few rules we always follow one under no circumstances am I ever to bring a Ouija board home play with one or even be around friends who play with one even typing this has me stressed out. To good spirits family members are loved ones don't want to scare you so if you're afraid they aren't supposed to be there and they need to gtfo and you do this by telling them to go away close the door on them or praying three if a spirit is trying to contact you and you don't want to hang out with them you can tell them to come bother nanny and she will always take care of it. And for trust your dreams most of them are trying to tell you something anyway sorry these are always so long but I wanted to talk about the spooky experiences I had with my ex boyfriend we have been best friends since we were 11 years old then as adults we decided we should just date because why not we were about 22 at the time we moved into our first department together which was in a beautiful brand new apartment complex and we had our two cats and dog with us named turtle carrot and rexie always appreciate the names I know. After an exhausting move in day our final task was to bring the animals in I had my cat turtle and dog rexie in tow I was walking up the stairs into our new house when suddenly I heard something behind me I world around that's when I saw it it was all black it crawled on all four legs it was moving slowly almost like it had been hunting me I stopped and squeezed rexie I couldn't move trying to figure out if it was my brain just playing tricks on me or if I was actually seeing what I was looking at as I took a step backwards it walked right into the wall it was gone I was alone the hallway stairs I ran up those stairs as fast as I could I never said anything to my boyfriend at the time he was kind of a warrior so I didn't want to stress him out a few nights later we're sitting in bed and he starts moving around shifting his weight in the bed annoying me of course I looked at him and he quietly whispers to me don't look in the closet oh my god. I took a deep breath and of course I had to look in the closet as I slowly rolled over there it was hunched in the corner of the closet looking right back at me it had no face it had no eyes no limbs just the feeling it was looking straight back at me I grabbed my boyfriend's arm I started to pray the our father and Hail Mary I did as my nanny said I told it to get out of here and the Virgin Mary was our BFF and you had no right to be here when I opened my eyes it was gone. This was just the start to what turned into an extremely toxic relationship with my ex he became violent he became angry all the time and although I hate to admit it I was also angry oh no we ended up moving into his parents house a few months later due to my job changing there were four bedrooms upstairs one night I got up to use the bathroom and I saw turtle sitting in the hallway I didn't think anything of it but as I was using the bathroom I noticed she didn't follow me in she was an extremely nosy cat and loved to be in our business so if you were in the room she'd follow I walked out and she was still in the same spot staring into the other bedroom this one on multiple times when I decided to see what she was looking at as I got closer to the bedroom I felt it first this deep sense of dread like I was in wet sand sinking trying to walk through it I stopped I looked back and turtle began to meow she was always quite chatty so I stopped and wondering who she was yelling at I did not like this feeling the feeling like something wanted me to come find it but at the same time it felt deeply wrong I decided to just ignore it I turned around and then a deep horse whisper said in here I had chills running down my spine it scared me it wanted me in there I grabbed her to booked it into my bedroom and woke my boyfriend up and told him everything after hearing what I had to say he started to tell me how growing up he always felt like he had shadow people following him how that room in particular he always felt extremely unwelcome and when he would sleep in there as a kid he would have terrible nightmares he had about six other major incidents with this creature during our relationship and each time we would have some terrible fight either right before or right after finally after we broke up I went back to my grandma's house I had my cat turtle another male cat I had rescued during our relationship and my dog Rexie with me I was watching this YouTube video and it was explaining how cats were thought to be spiritual guardians they were believed to protect their person from demons spirits and other unexplainable things as I look back at our relationship I 100% feel like my cat turtle was guarding me from whatever was around in that relationship that cat I rescued even would take my X's clothes pee on them and only his things my non he tells me I should have taken that as a sign after we broke up I have never seen a shadow creature again or felt something as toxic as I did with my ex we are still friends but something about being in a relationship with him was extremely dangerous and had a very wrong feeling to it I still have spirits and visitation dreams but since leaving my ex no more shadow people tormenting me I have plenty of other stories to share which I plan on writing you girls feel free to share anything I've sent I appreciate all your girls do keep up the good work and thanks for being an outlet for all of us who need to talk about our experiences You girls are like therapists for us spooky people. Stay ghosty. - Oh my God. - Now, McKinna has another story that I included. She's in several more, but there is another one in here, but we can discuss first. - Okay, whoa. People in the chat are like, break up worthy. This is first date information. Like, why would you not tell me like, "Hey, by the way, I have the shadow people." - Attachment, maybe. Like, I don't know. - Following me my entire life. - No, let's get into a full blown relationship and then live together. And then I'm gonna be like, oops, like, sorry. - Oh, that guy you saw. - Yeah, that he'd been with me a while. - Oh my God. Someone said, that makes me think, what if we have this all wrong and the shadow figures watch and protect us? - Interesting. I don't know. I'm still in camp, anti-shadow people. - I just find it interesting that every time they would have an experience with the shadow person, right before or right after, was a big fight. So did they, that makes me believe that they bring the negative energy? - And maybe not all shadow people. - Yeah. - Like, hashtag, not all shadows. (laughing) But, like, maybe there are some that just have like a really darkness, like a really, you know, negative energy with them. - I think most, yeah. Sorry guys, I'm like trying real hard to multitask and like, listen to the story and get the information, but also read the thing. Oh my God. Nora said, maybe the fight brewing gave it energy to manifest. Maybe they were like at odds with each other and there was already tension brewing and then it gave the shadow people or whatever access. - Yeah, that's interesting. - Oh, that's a creepy thought. Like, it just feeds off of the tension and the negativity in your relationship. - Yeah. - Oh my gosh. Sierra said, did the shadow person bring negative energy or were they pushing the OP to break up because they knew about how awful her ex would become? 'Cause I mean, they've been following this guy around for a long time, right? - Yeah. - So they know he's bad. So maybe they were like, man, we really wanna mess with him, but like, she's innocent. Let's scare her off. I don't know. - You never know. - You just thought it was normal. - Not all shadow people. So what if, oh my God, but also, yeah, cat named turtle is one of the best things I've ever heard. I love that. Yeah, they said, but aren't they still friends? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Maybe their relationship worked as friends and not as, you know, relation. - Could you remain friends with that person? Someone who was that toxic? I don't know. - Probably not, but I mean, every relationship is different, so. - Yeah. I think I'd say, all right, I'm good. - Well, McKenna had another story. Hey, ghosty gals. I love the podcast. I've written a few other times, and I really appreciate the outlet you girls provide. I'm sipping on Republic of Tees, Blackberry Sage, as I write this. This one really scared me as I've never had sleep paralysis before. Let me jump right in. I toss and turn in my sleep, always have. My husband usually says I'm like a tornado in my sleep. We always watch YouTube while we sleep, because I have to sleep with some sort of color and sound on. It can't just be one or the other. Super weird habit, I know. I remember hearing the show that was on, called Walking with History. They were digging up some Roman bath they had found in Europe. I rolled over to my left side and slightly squinted my eyes. And that is when I saw her. She was the height of my doorway. She was less than a foot away. I kept squinting, trying to figure out if maybe I was just seeing things. She was looking down at me. Although I couldn't see her eyes because her long, wet, black hair covered them. Oh no. I just knew she was looking back at me. I tried to roll over, but from my ankles up, I couldn't move. I felt like blocks of cement were laying on top of me. I tried to feel if my cats were laying next to me, but they were gone. I began to panic. I kept thinking, thrash, thrash. Maybe you'll wake K, let's call my husband K. But it wasn't working. I wasn't moving. Suddenly, as she was looking at me, I heard her smile. Oh God. It returns. Oh. And the best way I could describe this horrific smile was it sounded like sticky squishy mud when you step in it. When will we ever escape? When will the horrors end? This is the worst thing. We've talked about demons. We've talked about death. We've talked about horrible things. But why do we keep going back to mouth sounds? I literally snap this through. I go through torturing. I go through torture. I go through torture editing videos. Oh, my God. I saw these videos. And having to edit out both of our mouth sounds. And then in the story, they're talking about a haunted mouth sound that you've done. Physical mouth sounds. You have mental mouth sounds. Oh my God. Oh my God. I got to get back to get back to get back to get back. It squished when she smiled at me as her pearly white teeth glowed. I tried to tell her to go away, but I couldn't speak. I kept saying it over and over in my head. This was my grandma's rule. If you don't want something there, tell it to go away. I kept saying it over and over again, then opening my eyes to see if she'd left. No luck. She just kept smiling bigger and almost leaning into me, which scared me even more. Then I realized I couldn't move my foot. So I started kicking my husband, hoping he'd wake up and then shake me, and this would stop. It didn't work. He slept like a log. This seemed to go on forever with her just smiling at me. I finally started praying. I said the our father followed by the Hail Mary. I felt this heavy weight lift up off of me and I could move. And I flopped myself over back to my back. I turned my head and she was gone. About five minutes later, my cats jumped back on the bed and came and snuggled up next to me. I stayed awake until my husband finally woke up. I didn't say anything to him because he's a rational human being and very much a skeptic. He told me how annoying I was kicking him this morning. He also told me he was having a nightmare where he was being followed by a black haired shadow figure. I told him everything that happened after that. He tried to convince me. Maybe the TV was talking about a girl with long black hair and that's why we both dreamt of her. I know better than that. We all know better than that. Yes we do. So I told him, next time I'm kicking you that much in bed, turn around and shake me. Hello. He agreed. Needless to say, I will be doing some work today. I plan on smudging with sage, placing some of the holy water I got from other Mary's house in Turkey around the house, salt the doorways, and do some spiritual cleanup as my nanny would say. I've had a lot of experiences in my life as the women in my family are sensitive. This was not a good experience. And this woman is no longer allowed in my house. She's been uninvited. Anyways, sorry to take up a lot of time. I appreciate what you girls do. My daughter and I listen to you girls every day. It's like spooky therapy. Thank you, stay ghosty, Makina. Oh, that was cute. Thank you. I love that y'all watch with your kids. It makes me feel emotional. Yeah, we're at the family show. Oh my God, I'm sorry about my freak out earlier though. About the gummy mouth sounds. It's just, I really got you. Oh, okay, oh, there was a part that I wanted to talk about. Sorry, I threw us off track by having my little moment. Why was she smiling? And why was this girl or shadow figure whatever it was? Was it the same thing in the dream? Like was it actually the same thing or were there multiple spirits? That's like that one story of the girls on the Bachelorette trip. Whenever her friend was having a bad dream and she was seeing the lady in the doorway. Do you remember this? No, no, I don't. Bro, this was like a month ago. Yes, yes, yes, yes. The polka dot shirt. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, like what does that mean? Do y'all think it's like physically there or like is it like a veil-thinning type of thing? Or what is the explanation? Like if it's affecting deeply that, like someone in their dreams and in real life at the same time, like it has to be, have some sort of power, right? It can't be like a weak little, like, I'm kind of here, but I'm kind of not thing, you know? Why do they smile? Why do they smile? I don't know. I don't know. Everybody's like, what do they have to smile about? Stop it in the chat. Like, and I agree. I agree. I just, I don't like it. I really don't like it. I would rather encounter any type of entity that looks angry rather than one that's smiling at me, because like, why are you smiling? The smiling seems more malicious, like at least it's like, at least if they're angry, you know what you're getting. Yeah, but they're smiling. It's like, why are you here? What am I getting out of this? Smiling, because it's like, oh, I can fully access you, like I can get you a fight, what? Man. And then it's going to get you. Oh my gosh. I hate that so much. All right. So this next story comes from Hayes. Hi. My name is Hayes. And this is my story about when I experienced the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I'm not sure if you all believe in astral projection and the dream world, but I became a believer after this. I was about 16 to 17 living at home. I usually fall asleep with my TV on, so I have something that makes noise. I remember falling asleep as usual, and then I suddenly woke up, and I could feel something was different. The air was static-filled, it was thick and cold, and the hair on my neck was on edge. The room was also pitch black, no TV, no sound, nothing. I slowly sit up, not thinking anything, only to realize I am on my floor next to my bed. Once again, I just thought maybe I fell and woke up scared because it was so sudden. But then I turned my head, and I see myself still sound asleep in my bed. Immediately, I'm filled with anxiety and fear, I stand up and look around wondering what is happening. I look back at my sleeping body and notice a blue aura surrounding my body. But there's also a shadow of a giant hand covering over me. Oh my god. I then look at my bedroom door to see it's opened. I usually sleep with it cracked, but never fully open. The next thing I remember is walking towards my door, and as soon as I reach the hallway, I was met with a scream so loud and so unbearable, as well as something rushing towards me to keep me in my room. I then shoot up in my bed, sweating, and my heart racing. As I look around, my TV is on, the air is warm, and not static. I can hear my brother playing his game, I am back home. Still, to this day, even talking about it makes me feel uneasy, but I wonder if whatever scared me awake was protecting me from something. The sounds so unreal, I know, but I promise it is the truth. Thank you for listening, and I hope you get to read it. And see, this is exactly why I would never even attempt astral protection. I would never want to get into that space. If I woke up or whatever and realized I was possibly astral projecting, I'd be like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, because I don't want any part of that. The scream and a rush really, really got me. And I hope it was a protection. I'm also curious about the blue aura. Was that something you were emitting, and you could just see in the astral realm, or was that part of the protection somehow a giant hand trying to come for you, and the blue aura was protecting you, along with that screaming rushing spirit. Yeah, I have no idea. Imagine waking up accidentally out of your body. I hate this a lot. Was it rushing toward them or their body towards them in the hall to like, so in the astral realm, yeah, in the astral realm, it was rushing towards them from from the hallway to push them back into their body and screaming. Yeah. Oh my God. I would rather we've who was it? Someone told us a story or we read a story where they heard wake up in their ear to like bring them back. Yeah. I would rather that than a screaming. Well, yes, attack or I would perceive it as an attack, I guess. That is an attack. It's not a perceived. That is a full attack someone running at you screaming. Oh my gosh. It's hard to quit smoking, and if you've been working on that goal for yourself and always end up going back, then you need to hear about our latest sponsor, fume. It isn't you how you're trying to quit maybe the problem. cold turkey is tough and relies on willpower alone to get you through those cravings and the nicotine pouches, patches and gum only address the nicotine while keeping you reliant on it vaping and smoking aren't just about the nicotine though. There's a habit that also needs to be addressed. The hand mouth motion, the inhale, the stress break are all things that keep you automatically reaching for it throughout the day and fume can help you break that loop. Third party surveys have rated fume twice as effective as other quitting solutions on the market. Fume is a flavored air device made from real wood and metal that gives your hands, mouth and brain something better to reach for when those cravings hit. Fume has no nicotine, no vapor and no batteries. It isn't designed to mimic vaping, it's designed to help you quit. The flavors are all really great, especially my personal favorite, the mango flavor, it's super good. And what I really like about fume is that they aren't as strong as a vape. You get a light taste with most of their flavors and there are several minty options that can give you a bit of that throat hit if that's what you're looking for. But I think my favorite part about the device is the fidgeting function. It's a really solid device and the twisting and clicking are really satisfying when you need something to do with your hands. I seriously keep my fume by my desk while I'm working and I reach for it all throughout the day while reading through all of these spooky tails. Target the habit with fume today and use my co-hosties and get a free bite friendly silicone topper for your fume device. More than one million people have already chosen fume to quit differently. The only question is whether you're ready to take the first step. Remember, addiction is really good at saying later. Don't let it. Head to trifume.com/ghosties. That's T-R-Y-F-U-M.com/ghosties. Use code ghosties at checkout to get your free fume topper. This next story is from Nia. Hi ladies, I am so excited to see how much this pot has grown over time. I know stories sent in are plentiful and my other ones will take some time to get to, but I wanted to send another one in as I just listened to the most recent episode about listeners having a living in haunted houses. I thankfully do not have a two to three hour drive, one way to work and home anymore, but it's still about an hour, perfect to listen to an episode whenever one comes up. Just know that I appreciate ladies so much within the Patreon chats with others and for this podcast. It makes me feel not so alone to listen to so many like-minded people. Apologies if this is a bit wordy. I know I tend to ramble and that was so sweet. I do love and enjoy this community as well. As a kid, my parents had to move quickly as the first house in my memory was shot up one afternoon, just after my granny and I left for the market. Oh! We moved to a house that was built on a marshland that was filled in. There were creeks and such running through the area, fenced off though. In my yard, there was the right side yard that had a narrow bolted fence that my parents always told me to never go into. And as a kid though, when parents say never go somewhere without an explanation, my curiosity went through the roof, of course. I think I was about six or seven. It was typical for my parents to leave me home alone for days that I don't have school, but they have work. I knew to never answer the door and to basically pretend that no one was home if there was ever a knock or call. I would only ever pick up a call if my parents told me to pick up when the voicemail started. Computers and internet connection wasn't really a thing I was allowed to touch either. I think it was still dial-up then, so my parents didn't want me blocking the phone line. During this one day, my summer break already started and I didn't have summer school yet. It was glorious that I got to stay home to watch TV and basically do whatever I wanted alone. I am an only child, so there are times that I'd be bored, even with the TV, which was a treat for me. Occasionally, I would go into the yard to dig in the dirt and such, but sometimes I'd wish I had someone to play with. I guess I wished enough times, because on this day, I thought I heard someone knocking on the fence by the side yard. Yes, I know my parents told me to never, ever touch that fence or go near it, but curious me, yearning for a platemate, headed towards that direction. Oh no. I don't think my parents ever locked that fence as the bolt was beyond my reach. It was secured. I never really went over this side of the yard before, but I also did just watch the secret garden movie was kind of new then, so a fence that was covered in ivy wasn't too scary. To my surprise, the fence to the side yard was slightly opened, and of course, I slipped myself in there. I'm pretty sure I was too dense to have any sense of danger. It was a dirt side to the house with a square dirty wooden board on the ground, and there were a few paper talismans around the ground wet and kind of degrading. As a side reference, my family elders own a Buddhist temple with Taoist practices for protection. I'm pretty sure that's where the talismans came from, but they're just messed up from the rain in elements. All I remember from then on was that there was an urge to pull that board on the ground back. I think I remember something telling me that I could find someone to play with. I'm getting goosebumps just typing this now. There was a dark circle on the ground that was like a tube down. I now know that that wasn't old well. That was just haphazardly covered up. In the yard? Or right past the yard? In the yard, yeah. A side yard. Oh my god. I don't remember what else happened after that. Just that my dad was carrying me when it was cold and my parents bed wasn't that comfy. Being called to open up the well. The well. Oh my god. My mom told me what happened when I was an adult and asked her about my vague memory of that well. Apparently, my mom called home around 5 p.m. that day to make sure I wasn't sitting too close to the TV. She called over six times yelling at me over the voicemail and I never answered. My parents only had one car then and my dad had the car that day. My aunt that lived near us was out of town that day. So she immediately called 911 since it was unheard of that I wouldn't answer after calling so many times. 911 just told her to check home before calling again. I'm pretty sure she ran several bus stops before catching a bus to my dad's garage and they both rushed home as fast as my dad could drive. It was about 6.30 p.m. when they got home to an empty house. You can imagine the panic they felt running room to room screaming for me. My dad spotted the back door opened and they ran into the yard. I'm pretty sure I took a few years off their lifespan with the scare I gave them as I just saw the side yard fence ajar. But apparently they just found me curled up by the ivy next to the mouth of the well in a very deep nap. I have no idea how I just kept sleeping even after waking up a bit when my parents grabbed me and into the night with my parents in their bed since my mom didn't want to let me go. I think this is more of a "habited well" that haunted as I don't think I ever got a danger since from the well or house. But I'm still not too sure what that whole thing was. I'm not sure sure how to wrap this up as I'm still a bit confused about it myself now. I guess something there just wanted company. I am thankful that nothing bad happened. You're more than welcome to read this on the pod. Thank you so much for reading about my experience and maybe have a little insight as to what it was. All the best. Nia, can I come into your heart? Huh? It's from Incentor on the House. Oh my god! Why would you set the way you set that actually just gave me a chill? Because it did not sound like you. That actually just scared me. Does everybody think, yeah, stop. Oh my god, stop. Macy, why? Ah, Macy. Yes, why would you do this? Like that? Look at that. You see our chat like moving? Why would you do that to everyone? That's what I thought of. That's the first thing I thought of. Because Nia was asking for a friend. Wanting a friend. Oh my god. You know, Nia was wanting a friend and asking for a friend and the friend said, "Hey, I'm down here." That was horrible. Literally. You've betrayed me and everybody else. Oh my god. Okay, okay, okay. I'm sorry. Oh, I don't even remember what we just said. That just scared me so bad. Okay. Are you going to be okay? No, because I was already creeped out about the the well and the new said. Whatever you just said something about can I come into your heart like it it caught me so off guard that it like It brought me back to life. I'm sorry. I really wasn't saying how dare you okay? I'm sorry. I really am but if you've read incense or an house. That's what she's asking Other mommy's asking Bella to come into her heart No, the answer is no. That's what the well-reminding me of maybe I don't know, but Nea wanted insight So does anybody have any possibly positive insight? Because that just feels enough Various to me calling this dark knocking on the side of the fence calling to a young child to come to the well It's like Samara like you're trying to have her join you down there. Yeah, okay, this next story is from Jamie I may see an end late first off I want to say that I just found your podcast on Spotify this week 4 7 25 and I am obsessed I've started at the beginning and I'm listening well at work listening to these Reminds me of all of my experiences and I just want to say a few and Apologize for the link. I stopped to write this after the Bloody Mary episode because I had a dream once about a mirror Happened stance and I have been terrified of mirrors since. Oh, no I need to preface this by saying that I have been dreaming and visiting with my dead relatives since I can remember Most of the time I remember them and write them down to tell my living relatives what was said in the dreams This means that I have very vivid and lucid dreams which is telling in my story One night when I was around the age of 13 I dreamt that I had to use the restroom after using the toilet with the light on I was washing my hands and looked into the mirror and my eyes Transformed from my normal blue green eyes to my entire eye including the whites Turning into a sky blue color I immediately blinked and tried to get the color to go back to white and it wouldn't work and the people's changed shape I was so scared I ran back to my bed and when I woke up from the stream I ran to the bathroom turn the light on and stared at my reflection My eyes were normal now I cannot look into a mirror without getting the heebie GB's right That kind of reminds me of you saying you can't stare too long in the mirror at yourself. No, have you ever done that? No, I used to do that I mean before the pod since the pod I don't even look in the mirror like at my own eyes That scares me but when I was younger I would look in the mirror so long at myself until I got scared like I would look so long to the point Where it looked like my eyes weren't me anymore. Have you ever done that like you're saying? Yes into another dimension It reminds me of charmed which I'm still watching charmed right now I have like the alternate dimension through the mirror like the mirror world where everything's bad on this side Mm-hmm me I said it's like it stops feeling like myself like it doesn't after a while if you look long enough Yeah, that's not you anymore. It's like saying a word so many times that it doesn't sound right anymore Mm-hmm kind of thing. Well, Jamie has more story now for one of the scariest stories and also the story from the title of this email Which I forgot to put in so I don't recall but the So sorry my sister and I are two years apart in age growing up We had to share a room and during the summer or weekends We would stay awake at night talking making up stories and talking about our hopes and dreams We would sit on one of our beds and just talk this particular night We were sitting with our bedroom door open our bedroom opened up into the living room The living room had a doorway to the kitchen and you could see the doorway to the kitchen from our open bedroom door My mom always used the kitchen sink light as a night light also prevalent to the story We need to know that the only windows in the kitchen face the backyard that was dark And there was a forest and a train track beyond that the night of this story My sister and I are talking and laughing and out of the corner of my eye. I see shadows I turn my head and see little gnome-looking figures short about two feet tall with long pointy hats So with the hats these things are like three feet tall I look at my sister and she's staring wide-eyed as well I turn my head back again to watch as they are running from the kitchen to the living room It looks like they are playing I stare with my mouth open and getting dry as I'm watching them Two of them stand in the middle of the doorway to the kitchen and whisper to each other Then they turn to look me dead in my eyes. Oh my god They start smiling at me and they show a pointy toothy grin and start to run towards our open door Oh my god I shoot up off the bed kick the door closed and we jump to my bed on the other side of the room away from the door We then scream at the top of our lungs Mom We didn't get out of bed the rest of the night when daylight hit We still hadn't slept we talked to our mom and she said we must have been dreaming We never saw those things again, but we also never slept with our door open again I have a few other paranormal things that have happened and one is very long So I'll have to type that out on my computer. I hope you read this on the pod I can't wait to finish these past episodes and catch up on the new ones sincerely. Jamie. Okay at first I was like oh Nomes. Yeah me to say it's a cure or like a cute little playful creature because they're playing in living room But the the mischief and the smiles and they running at the door. No Dwindier someone said I don't care any form of dwindais scares the f out of me Exactly exactly also people are saying the toothy grin is not as scary as a gummy smile. No No, yeah, I agree. I'd rather though sharp teeth kind of freak me out. They do they do But someone said gummy smile implies salivating and that is so scary. It's like it's a animalistic. It's like Okay, I'm like getting really sick about it. Oh my god. I'm sorry. I Hope to never come across anything like that I did who was it? I was watching somebody on YouTube a long time ago and they were talking about being a young child Mm-hmm, and seeing Nomes or maybe their uncle or somebody saw Nomes like walking along the garden wall in their backyard We read that here maybe or maybe you told me about it. I might have told you. I don't I don't remember They saw overnight they saw it and they told their grandma the next day and their grandma's like Oh, yeah, I've never seen them, but other people have at this house if they're not evil and smiling at me with a little toothy grin And they're just roaming around and running at me. Yeah, exactly exactly. I don't like that Ugh, yeah, okay. This next story is from Cedar. Hi ladies I've been a listener for a while and recently joined the Patreon too. I've been working my way through all the episodes of the pod while I'm at work I just adore the cozy vibes you have even when talking about spooky things The listener stories have me thinking about my own experiences. So I figured I'll write some in I've been dealing with spirits and the like ever since I was little. They don't usually appear physically in front of me But I get mental images and feelings from them that show me what they look like and what they want to tell me Some of them look like normal people and some of them don't I've been lucky Maybe to find that spirits generally can't hide their nature from me when spirits present themselves as human to others I can see through that allusion to know when they're lying I'm sure a lot of people would find it scary But I've been dealing with it for almost 30 years now. So it's just my normal at this point I joke that it's what I get for having a Halloween birthday on top of practicing witchcraft Elimeo. I can't remember a lot of my earliest experiences and my parents won't talk about them But the first time I remember knowing something was a spirit was the woman I would see on the stair landing and in the upstairs hallway of my childhood home She was probably in her mid-20s and wore a white blouse and a pinkish skirt that looked like they were probably from somewhere between 1900 and 1915 the house was built in 1916 So I think she was likely one of the first people who lived in the house and she never scared me just gave me a sad feeling One of the strangest experiences I've had was in my freshman year of college I lived in a suite with three others to to a bedroom and we had our own bathroom and living space and would often get strange feelings around our building But didn't experience much else until one night It was probably either a Friday or a Saturday because my roommate was out at a party somewhere in her building I've never been much of a party person So I stayed home chatting with some other friends via the wonders of the internet and went to bed before my roommate was home I was asleep for a while and couldn't tell you what time it was when I woke up Because I kept my alone clock facing away from me when I slept both to keep the light from shining in my eyes And to cast a tiny bit of light beside my bed so I wouldn't trip over anything if I hopped out of bed during the night I always double checked that our suite's main door was locked before bed But I also kept the bedroom door locked since there were three other people in the place who could have come in and out at any hour When I woke up I heard the lock on the bedroom door click and saw a tiny bit of light from the hallway as the door opened Which was then blocked when I saw a blurry person a person's shape come inside and close the door behind them I pretty reasonably Assumed that it was my roommate coming home and didn't think anything else of it I heard her shuffling around in the dark over by our wardrobes and then saw her get into bed and pull her blankets up Now my eyesight is garbage and it was dark So I couldn't see any features on the figure But it was about the size of my roommate and didn't set off any alarm bells, spiritual or otherwise for me I rolled over and went back to sleep The next morning I woke up to the sound of the bedroom door unlocking again Now that it was light I could obviously tell it was my roommate coming inside She wasn't in pajamas but the clothes she wore to go out the day before Confused I asked her if she was just getting home and she said yes She said she stayed over at the suite where she had been hanging out the night before So I decided not to tell her what happened during the night What? Because I didn't want to freak her out It didn't happen again, thank goodness Oh, I'm telling her immediately And I'm also going Liar! Liar! because I would be in such denial. I would not. Oh my God. What really freaks me out about this one is the door open. The light came in. They saw the light from the hall. The door unlocked. Yeah. Like Victoria said, she said person and then put like the little heart, uh, smiley face emoji. And then it said person shape with little big eyes. Yeah. Exactly my thoughts. You saw a person shape. You did not see your roommate. That's horrifying because either way it's like a ghost or spirit of some kind, that's horrifying. Or it's a random person that shuffled their way into your room, unlocked the door somehow. Under your roommate's covers, I hate that so much. All right, there's a little bit more to see the story. So my friends married shortly after we all left college and the first home they bought was a gorgeous historical house down the road from spring grove cemetery in Cincinnati, where I went to college and then lived for several years. It was beautiful. Two stories, a full attic and a basement. The house was haunted by the original family who built the place. A couple named George and Ida, their son also George and their son's wife Mary Mary stayed in the basement and was honestly rude as hell. Oh, she'd cause all sorts of problems in the house and seem to make it her goal to scare the crap out of my friends. It got to the point that my friends asked me to come get her out of the house after she caused part of their water filter system to shatter. I won't go into the details, but it took me about an hour and a half and lots of cursing and energy, but I got her out eventually eventually. George started to cause problems and got more and more unreasonable in stubborn. So Ida in depth requesting that I remove them both from the house as well, which was another hour of getting them bound to something and then taking them over to their graves in the cemetery to stay there instead. Oh, I think she was sick of trying to manage her brad of a husband in the afterlife and just wanted to rest. That is so funny. I just like just just take us out of here. Yeah, I can't lose it more. I didn't know that I mean, I guess I kind of did, but hearing someone say they like bound the spirits to something and took them somewhere else. Yeah. What if we just took bikini bottom and pushed it over here? Yeah, that's how that feels to me. I didn't even think about that. I would like to know more about that process. What it takes to find is there's some sort of like special ritual you have to do or yeah, I'd like to know more about that actually. I also, in my 15-ish years of witchcraft have had adventures with astral travels, all sorts of non-human spirits, and learn a little bit about my past life. Most importantly, though, to me is the fact that my Peppball spirit has been one of my guides through all of this. My Peppball was my great-granddad, and he was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains in a small mining town in Kentucky. He taught me my first workings and how to interact with spirits. He taught me how to approach my environment and the spirits within it, how to treat them with respect, and how to soothe them when needed, and protect myself when they can't be calmed. He passed a while ago, but ever since then he's guided me from the other side. He even helps keep nasty things away from me, or my friends if we go to haunted locations, acting like my spiritual bodyguard. Oh, highly recommend asking your ancestors for protection when you feel like you need it. They're typically the spirits that will be the most invested in keeping you safe after all. I've rambled long enough, I think. Really love the podcast, and the little community you gals have built. Thank you for carving out a cozy little corner of the internet for us all to talk about spooky things in a way that totally feels like we're telling stories at a slumber party. I definitely have more stories, these weren't even scary ones, Elimeo, but the email is already getting too long, and you really don't need me writing out my entire life story here. Yes, I do. Yes, we do. Lots of love, cedar. PS, before I forget, I did want to mention for the other listeners that in my experience, there are multiple types of mimics. There are what I call true mimics, which learned by copying us and often give that unsettled gut feeling, and there are spirits that simply use mimicry to communicate, because it's easier to echo something that's already happened than it is to try and make itself known on its own. Okay, bye for real now. Okay, so just a little tidbit that kind of makes sense for the other spirit, like that mimicked the roommate, and then to their bed, like maybe that's just a way of communicating, that they may have seen this girl do this a couple of times, but either way, still spooky. And I love love that your great granddad is like, yeah, that's really sweet, I love that part a lot. That last story really will stick with me, especially the mimic in the college dorm. Yeah, I know, in the live recording, we got a little bit off topic because people were being really silly in the chat, but listening back to that story, I wanted to block it out. I think that's why I wanted to be silly with everybody, because it's truly chilling. That's one of the good things about being in the chat while telling and listening to these stories is you can kind of remove yourself a little bit and not be immersed totally in the like straight fear. Oh yeah, because we're recording this outro and intro and everything after the fact rewatching and hearing that story, I found myself getting really scared because I was alone, and I wasn't with the people in the chat. It's a good one. Yeah, I read these stories over and over again, and I still get scared every time. So it's really spooky, but I hope you enjoyed this little look into our live chats and our live videos. We hope you enjoyed the stories that were brought to us by our patrons. Thank you to everyone on Patreon. We appreciate you. Like this video if you liked it, share it with your friends if you feel compelled to do so and subscribe for more. We do have another episode coming tomorrow. So keep a look out for that. It's going to be just a little mini half episode bonus episode. We're going to be reading some Reddit stories. So it's going to be good. I'm very excited and we're also dressing up. So yeah, be ready for that guys. Bring your costume. Will it be of quality and will it be, you know, special effects level makeup and such? No. For those of you who saw it last year. No, but it will be fun. Refer to Adman. Yes, it will be so much fun and I can't wait. Yes. So we hope you enjoyed this and we hope to see you again tomorrow. Bye. Goodbye.
