Artificial Souls: The Perm Line

The conversation begins with a celebration of *Cats*' major Tony nominations, emphasizing its theatrical significance and broad appeal. However, the discussion quickly shifts to viewer confusion about the show’s content, particularly the controversial depiction of cats with nipples, which many find unsettling or inappropriate. The hosts express that their lack of cultural or contextual understanding makes it difficult to engage with the show. This leads to a broader critique of media narratives, such as the end of the Love and Hip-Hop franchise, which is seen as a natural conclusion due to dwindling fresh content and reliance on recycled talent. The hosts also highlight the controversial political and social stance of MIA during her tour, which led to public backlash and her removal from performances, underscoring the sensitivity of political expression in entertainment. The discussion then turns to Chris Brown’s use of AI in album art, criticized as inauthentic and disrespectful, and the Migos reunion rumors, which are met with skepticism due to concerns about substance and addiction. The conversation concludes with a reflection on the struggles of Black artists and families, including mental health, financial instability, and toxic familial dynamics. A personal letter about a mother’s abusive behavior is addressed, advocating for therapy over faith-based solutions. The hosts also express skepticism about the Michael Jackson biopic, citing prior coverage and a lack of new narrative content, while acknowledging the enduring legacy of the artist. The segment ends with a call for accountability, financial literacy, and emotional support in the entertainment industry.

because this lady was trying to get her beans or rice or whatever you love that love those two yeah um well welcome back everyone it is officially may and um yeah we're getting into the summertime here although it's still it feels like the forever winter because it's earth but instead of focusing on that let's focus on some excellent blacks specifically um everyone over there down to the bottom of the screen the cat's jellicle ball function over on broadway um they just racked up nine tony nominations oh wow oh yeah baby best revival of a musical best direction of a musical best actor in a featured role in a musical for andre to shields um they also got costume designing nominations uh they got choreography some other direction stuff they got like huge number of nominations wow rocky horror also got nine nominations so they're up there and um rightfully so o-p-u-l-e-n-c-e opulence everything is yours she has everything the fact that he's in the fucking musical too is so fantastic to me oh i didn't i've never seen cats so i don't know i don't know what the jellicle ball is i don't know how that's related to cats i i have no context for this but the gays have been promoting it heavy on my tiktok and instagram so that's why i know about it you know what i think you should go see it um because i know that you love i mean you enjoy theater um i've heard great things about this you not knowing anything about cats um i think is appropriate why should you right why do you need to that's never like i remember being a kid and people talking about cats and stuff all the time hell that episode where golden we're on the golden girls remember the episode on the golden girls where blanche and rose dressed up like cats because they're oh yeah like in theaters and i remember being a huge cultural thing and always feeling like so they're cats i never yeah i don't really went further than that and then that taylor swift movie happened and that was a meme so all that to say i don't really know what it's about okay i think they're like drug addicts or something there's like rent the cats i don't know it's like supposed to be i think it's sad i don't know okay i don't know we don't know that it is all the cats have weird ass names and that's all i know so what i would say is maybe read a little summary okay and then go watch this because i don't know that even has any i don't know how much it has to do with cats anyway because i also don't know shit about it okay well but i hear this is good yeah i really just remember the tv movie getting talked about so bad i don't remember that yeah it was the same wasn't yeah remember because the cats had nipples i think that's the movie i'm talking about was that a t that came out in theaters did it why did i think that was a tv movie maybe because everybody why did we look any further than the trailer right why did the cats have nipples right and so i never saw it based off of that one critique but i see here that the tribe of cats is called the jellicles yeah yeah yeah so i guess them niggas are having a ball like a gay ball that's why right right so yeah okay i mean yeah yeah go check it out it's got nine tony nominations yeah so you know it's gotta be that many tony nominations it's worth the ticket for sure but i just feel like i'm not really gonna get it because of having zero context for this show but yeah we'll see why did these cats have titties and and what was the nipples for i remember jennifer hudson being in that right yeah and just a shot of her singing with her nippled titties in the costume and it was just like why did that who made that choice i don't get it but and i know that song the one song that she she sings like a big oh yeah it's so easy and i do know that one yeah that yeah and it sounds great but i have to listen to it and not look at it right right so it's memory the song is called memory yes yes yes that i think everybody that's probably the one thing i know about that show is memory barbara streisand yeah that's xd's fault there it is yeah okay well let's get into the hot tops of the week it's quite a mixed bag let me see if i can start with something nice oh my god all this oh wait here's something nice love and hip-hop has announced its six-part finale final chapter that's all folks oh man well yes indeed paramount's revealed that a six-part finale series called love and hip-hop the final chapter is coming this fall no official release date yet but executive producer of the final chapter lashawn browning beautiful name says the love and hip-hop franchise has always been about the people uh okay yeah some somebody some people somebody the incredible talent who trusted us with their real lives this person's being very kind the exceptional producers who poured themselves into every storyline their dedication is why this resonated for so many okay girl anyway so they're saying like oh be there or be square right so all the love and hip-hop's are over yeah i it sounds like this is the end because i mean honestly were people even still watching it they couldn't get anybody famous enough for us to really give shit about on that show for years like there just was nobody that i actually wanted to cut the tv on it's only so many times you could put young jock and baby like okay and what she does it's only so many times you could prop these niggas up and you know random rappers in miami while she while trina is shooting one fucking scene per six episodes because she can't be bothered like getting paid the most right and paid the most to appear the least like it's not i'm not turning into that the show just hasn't lost it lost its plot it really did and i agree the fact that's like okay now um what's her name now yandy's in atlanta and this atlanta person's in miami right and this person from hollywood is now in miami or it just kind of was like like you said it was like they can't they can't find new people right to say yes to be on this show so you're giving us the state like i don't want to hear about kirk's latest affair right it really after cardi b they should have called it a wrap cardi is by far the biggest success story out of that franchise to the point where i think most people probably don't even know or they have forgotten that that's where we got our first one and yeah y'all y'all are never gonna have that again that's never going to happen again all these random instagram hoes y'all be sourcing from the baddies leftovers or whatever to throw them on this show it's not fetch is not going to happen let's just wrap it up yeah i i think out outside of it just being loving hip-hop even people who probably would still be into the antics and the shenanigans and the champagne throwing are like okay carly roode again it's like right i can't help you if you don't want to help yourself i don't dj self and um what's that other nigga name the funny looking nigga well never mind that's not that's not enough context the point being y'all it's over it's over and it honestly probably should have been over you have squeezed every drop of money y'all was gonna get out of that idea so you know i might actually tune into the six-part finale i might just to say goodbye six parts i mean stevie j was once on this very show it's crazy to think and you see like what you said about cardi b that's the thing that i feel like we've grown past and larger yeah oh yeah and so who even remembers that or needs to remember it furthermore much like that situation loving hip-hop didn't make cardi b cardi b was it expanded her reach right she was running the things up and being her very much self and and You know what I'm saying? Before they put her on there. Right. So she likely would have been Miss Belcalise, regardless of Mona Scott. So, yeah, it is. What do they say about, is it grief or is it addiction? When they are like, oh, acknowledging it is the first step or acceptance. Well, yeah, acceptance is the first step. But that's for a lot of things, I think. So probably, yeah, grief and all of that. Well, here we are. Accepting that it is over. Yeah. And that's fine. It was time. Yeah, big, big time. I don't even, this is exhausting. So Dave Chappelle had a show at the Comedy Store West Hollywood. Hilarious that this person used to be my literal favorite comic. And I didn't even know about this because I don't care. Obviously, he's still really big friends with Kanye West. Another person that I, you know, held in such high regard. Many years ago. He has a new project out, too. And I was like, oh, Squidward meme. I love that meme. Like, I should blow it up. It applies to so many things. The one of him with the shades. For his sunbathing. Oh, yeah. He's like, girl. Do not care. So apparently, the audience at Chappelle's, Chappelle's show gave Kanye, like, a standing ovation. That makes sense. If you would go pay money for Dave Chappelle in 2026, you'd probably do like Kanye. Yeah, that tracks. Kanye West has lost more money than I've ever made. Whatever. Is that a flex? I guess it's supposed to be a joke. But anyways, there you are. This nigga supporting that nigga. And, you know, North's father specifically still finding corners of blackness where he can, you know, be validated and have his little forehead get a tap-tap. Well, I mean, might as well go on that Chris Brown and Usher tour, too. I'm sure the people would gobble that right up. Like, might as well. Because it's something about our canceled, heavy air quotes, black male celebrities where they don't seem, they don't seem to suffer in any way other than, like, negative social media conversation. In every other regard of their lives, they seem to be doing just fine, so. Keyword conversation, too. Right. Because it's not just some big banner across. Right. There's always a hefty number of people who are going to argue. Yeah. In that conversation. But that's pretty much all it is. Like, even with Kanye losing all that money, he's still rich as fuck. Like, who? So, yeah. All right. I'm continuing to make money. I saw that Dave Chappelle was going to be at Netflix as a joke. I'm like, wow, you really, like, just all the shit you've said about trans people, the people do not care. Wow. Like, you can really just say any fucking thing. It do not matter. Huh. Okay. Must be nice. It must be delightful. But all the, like, big, big capitalism over there. You know what I mean? They're making a shit ton of money together. They are. You know who's also going to be making a shit ton of money together? T.I. and his two rapping sons. T.I. He took that 50 cent thing and he. Yeah. And it's working. It is working. Let me tell you something. I've spoken openly about King and Damani absolutely clearing Kanan. And so I'm not going to speak too loudly on this. I'm just going to say it. stay yet prayed up and um specifically so you know for everybody to stay out of jail right um but it's the album yeah he's oh he's doing a final album too i did know about this and forgot so ti has uh he's like an upcoming album called kill the king you're supposed to be his last one um but then i suppose he plans on touring this album or around the album with his sons king and damani um and this is the tour supposed to be called the king succession tour you know what why not why not play it up so what you you really like you're gonna literally be passing the torch to these boys on stage that's gonna be great why not if mama d could spend 20 years on that same show we just talked about speaking on a palace and like unironically like b-i-c-t-h you know remember physicotic it really had its day didn't it it did it did my name's rashida i rap like shawty love it is the bam you know it really did have the bam when i figured out that her name is adi i thought i was going to die yeah i short-circuited that was awesome um well congratulations young light-skinned man and light-skinned father i guess we'll see oh yeah how that how that goes that's gonna go crazy in atlanta the atlanta stopper that tour is gonna be in the atlanta stopper that tour is gonna be in the atlanta stopper that tour is gonna be in the atlanta stopper that tour is gonna be in the atlanta stopper probably and shit ton of uh special guests yeah yep but it looks like it starts in july and and through august just a couple of dates okay kids back at school um so stefan digs is being cleared not guilty in this uh assault case with his former chef mila adams so i watched a couple of clips and a little bit of coverage over this this case and from what i saw they were clearing miss mila adams left right and center yeah that's exactly they were dragging her about um she said on the stand that she was friends with stefan then they had a sexual relationship and that's what led to her getting the job as his chef um but then she was asked like a number of questions about artie and like text messages there or something but she wasn't answering those questions directly which was frustrating uh the defense attorney i guess like stefan's attorney um and and then they asked her his attorney asked her something like didn't didn't her attorney just ask for 5.5 million dollars from stefan and she sort of paused for a second and then he's like stefan offered me 500 or a camp statement whatever and the attorney was like oh like paraphrasing basically in my words it's like oh girl judge can you please get this hold it's just like answering a guy yeah and the judge absolutely said that like she would strike certain testimony from this like they were dragging this lady left right yeah again yeah i don't know all the crooks of everything what's true and what's not true and everything like that i'm just going based off of the stuff that i saw right but i also reading that this case did not take very long for them to wrap up yeah um and yeah mr stefan diggs uh walked away free was he crying i i saw a clip of him crying in the courtroom but i don't know if it was for this well he might have just been relieved i also you know according to that testimony anybody can get stefan digs dig anybody i mean well which you mean i don't think anybody ever really doubted it but i don't think anybody ever really doubted it but i don't think anybody ever really doubted it but um yeah when the prosecutor was like now sure oh girl is not a perfect witness but still don't throw away everything she said i said oh yeah y'all are cooked yeah right and they really just leaned on the fact that there were no witnesses she didn't go to the hospital or the doctor or whatever afterwards so it's pretty hard to prove you know it's your word against his and so basically yeah not not too shocked about that but you know this ought to make it easier for him to find a nfl team so he can pay child support for all them children and you know all that that ought to be nice wishful thinking yeah it's what makes the world go round girl how about i did not know mia was on tour girl how about it i did not know she was on tour opening up for kid cuddy girl how about i found out right after she was no longer on tour with kid cuddy bitch because she thought that she could walk her way out of this world and she could walk her way out of this world and she could walk her way out of this world and she could walk her way out of this world and she could walk her way out of this world and she could walk her way out of this world and she could walk her way out of this world narrow ass up on stage and directly throw shots at um unduck undocumented undocumented citizens directly proclaim her love for maga and the republican party and then flex through people booing and walking out of the fucking concert yeah baby cakes it wasn't before sunrise that uh kid cuddy posted the following tour update mi is no longer on this tour i told my management to send a notice to her management to send a notice to her management to send a notice to her team before we started tour that i didn't team before we started tour that i didn't team before we started tour that i didn't want anything offensive at my shows want anything offensive at my shows want anything offensive at my shows because i already knew what time it was because i already knew what time it was because i already knew what time it was and i was assured things were understood After the last couple shows, I've been flooded with messages from fans that were upset by her rants. This, to me, is very disappointing, and I want to have someone on my tour. And I won't have someone on my tour making offensive remarks. That upsets my fan base. Thank you for understanding. Yeah, well, I feel like that first part about, I told her, people, before this tour even started, tell her to shut the fuck up with that dumb shit she be on. Because I already know what time it is. And, you know, because I've had MIA blocked for years. That's how she's been on this shit for a long time. So, but I can see how some people who are kind of high, getting ready for the Kid Cudi show, might, you know, go out there and bop around the paper planes or whatever. So, like, for sure, we'll put it aside for this moment as long as you come out here, do a smile, do your dance, and then take your ass back to the back. Like, to come out here in your British accent, because you're not an American. Talking about how you're a Republican or, you know, you're a Trump supporter or whatever else. And talking about illegals and then trying to clear it up on Twitter. I had to go, because I found the article on NBC News, and then they were like, oh, she posted on Twitter. So, I had to go look at her tweets, and she was like. Oh, yeah, I found that, too. Read that. Oh, God. Well, no, this is so long. This is a bunch of. It is. I wrote illegal on the MIA LP. So, she was saying, you know, I was saying that. I'm illegal. Half my team don't have visas yet. And, you know, I still believe that if the law is unjust, then fuck it. But she was also saying, you know, don't gaslight my words. That is the work of Satan. And Jesus is returning to lead the world. And all this. And I'm like, all right, girl. I'm clicking this shit right off. I'm clicking it right off. So, apparently, she just dropped an album that's supposed to be a gospel album. No. But it's. It's just like the genre is described as dance. I just found this out. Okay. So, I'm. When I saw that this is the work of Satan part, I'm like, album promo? Like, because. Right. And furthermore, I cackled out loud. So, you. The British. Right. Indian. Indian Trump supporter. Just dropped a gospel dance. Am I. If you don't get the fuck out of my face. Them words don't go together. Them words do not go together. If you weren't rich, Donald Trump would kick your ass right out this country. Directly. You would be out of here very quickly, girl. Like, ice would come right around for your ass. So. Throwing lettuce. Throwing heads of lettuce at you. You're. Her. Her politics are so confusing to me. I don't know how she ended up in this space. I agree. I really don't know how she got here. But, yeah. I. I saw that video on TikTok of her saying all that shit the night before. And then the very next day, Kid Cudi said, don't worry about it. You will not see that bitch again. Right. Good for him. Yeah. He told her. Told her. I'm like, girl, what are you talking about? Oh, I wrote this song on on the My LP from 16 years ago. We. Didn't we already know that? What are you talking about? Who cares? We're talking about the shit that you're talking about. Right now. Right. Talking about, you're not going to perform this song because some people in the crowd might be illegal. Okay. What? So. Who. Talking about, you never thought you'd be canceled for being a Republican voting Trumper or whatever, which can you even vote? Can you? That's I'm not even being shady. Do you have whatever level of citizenship or whatever it is in order to be able to vote here? I don't. I don't even know. I don't think you do. But the political beliefs by themselves are bad enough. They told you before you started this job, they told you, get up there, sing your song and leave. And you just you could not help yourself. And so now you're getting what you deserve. I can't help but wonder, like, how she got the how she got booked for the tour anyway, because I don't know. I don't know who say that would be. But if I'm like, OK, I'm about to go on my own tour and here is this person who's supposed to open for me and I already know what time it is, I'm going to want somebody else to open for me before I just take a chance on this one. So I'm curious about that. But, you know, it sounds like what needs to happen happened. And this long ass essay that she wrote. Right. It's really just confusing. Jesus returns to lead the world. Not with you. You won't be a part of that. But so I just Googled it real quick. And I think they're both associated with Republic Records. So I would not be shocked if Republic put this together. And he was like, fine, but I swear to God, if she say one dumb thing, I swear to God, they were like, OK, all right. All right. And then she she literally did it to herself. And I assumed that. I kind of guess that. But I'm like that that would then speak to the trap and the racket that is the recording company, a recording industry. And I mean, that's not a shock, but like it's my tour and you gonna make me have my label made that I don't trust tour with me. That's crazy. I mean, when the label is paying for shit, they kind of get to. There it is. They kind of get to do that. And so as an artist, all you can do is all you can do and shout out to Kid Cudi for doing what he could in that situation, because y'all not. That's the thing. They're not going online and just cussing her out. They're cussing me out because I brought this bitch on my tour. So, yeah, if I'm going to be held accountable by the fans, then I'm going to do something about this shit every time. I know Kid Cudi hopped on the Zoom like Nino Brown. You bitches. The day of reckoning has come because I told you bitches. Yeah. Well, here's the latest dramatics from the Bruises portion of the upcoming Bumps and Bruises extravaganza. So Bruises apparently has an album coming out called Brown, I think, this weekend. Whatever. Oh, yes. Yes. Right. Did you see this? I've seen the A.I. If that's what you're talking about. If that's what I'm talking about. Okay. Why would they do this? And for it to be blatantly copying off of Duran's album or LP or whatever that is that he just put out, like, Duran's was out for like a week or two. And then all of a sudden, here go Chris Brown with an A.I. cover that looks just like Duran's. And then the other shit, whatever that, I don't even know how to describe what that other release was. But, yeah, it's like Chris Brown is looking for new ways to get on my fucking nerves. I agree. I agree. I hate, I hate A.I. so much. A Night of Soul and R&B and Timeless Classics. I don't think so. Featuring NBA Youngboy. Girl. Why? Appearances by Sexy Red. Get out of my damn face. Words used to mean things. They really did. They don't anymore. But they really used to. And I want to get back to that. Like, you couldn't have just gone and gotten into your best. Frankie Lyman drag and took a picture. Yeah. These, these doo-wop ass pictures, him with this perm. And like, he often rocks a perm. So it isn't. Yeah. Out of, you know, when I see mega celebrities, when I see incredibly huge stars, especially very wealthy ones. Um. Using A.I. Art on purpose, like, like not in, in, uh, in an ironic, um, you know, or intentionally funny, uh, and funny way. I'm just kind of like, what are you trying to do here? What, what exactly is, what's the point? Did you see the new Devil Horse product yet? I did. I don't think so. I mean, like, Hardy had like past 200 something million dollars, right? Well, they got, they got my $20. They sure did. And I really enjoyed it, but. I haven't gone yet. Oh, well, there is a little bit of this intentional use of A.I. in order to depict. That's what's going to pick up. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. But they used a real painter. Right. To make, but to make it look like that in order to mock and, and talk about where things have gone right to, to this point. Yeah. So. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like, why not that? Oh, cause that costs money. But he also like paints and tags. Like he has a whole artistic side to what he does anyway. Yeah. He, he does that on. So why not just get an artist to paint this? You don't understand. He's very busy right now. Okay. He has to. Oh yeah. He has to stretch a lot. Um, drugs are being done. Um, he's got kids all over. Yeah. - A new one. - Right. So, you know, he's got a busy week. I don't know this I don't know what's wrong with this nigga but trying to make sense out of what Chris Brown chooses to do it's just gonna make your head hurt a night of soul with vibes cartel and I just and it's like is this supposed to be a track list because obviously this is not a real show so these are the features on his album okay so this is just announcing the features okay yeah I don't I don't hate the idea I wish you had hired somebody to actually do it though yes because this looks like garbage it looks horrible your head's not even shape right in it and young NBA young boy is not even in AI like why did y'all like everybody else got the juice right everybody else looks all glassy and then y'all just use a picture of this nigga okay okay and tank what was the plot what a doofus yeah is there even anything else oh Offset and and Quavar in the studio again there was rumors that they were back in the studio together so then like oh Migos reading the impossible now the Migos Instagram page has posted photos of them in the studio looking friendly and so Migos music might be on the horizon well I mean on the one hand it's lovely that they have made up on the other this music is gonna be horrible I'm just not I don't know how I'm gonna be able to do it yeah I'll try um because I do love their music but I feel like it's like when when when TLC would make music without Lisa yep yep yep and before exactly that yeah knowing about Rosanda being MAGA yep it was like it just don't my heart goes out to y'all but this just isn't the same and I'm sad it is a reminder to me that this is heartbreaking yes that's not their fault but I agree it's just not I don't expect that I'm gonna be able to do it again I don't expect that I'm gonna be able to do it again I don't expect that I'm gonna be like enjoying it the way that I would Migos right also my first mind and you can tell me if this is petty my first mind was kind of like Quavo was like look girl you are going out bad and you need to come on over here let's get you some money so you can pay some people back well put some music out have a good time let's get back let's get back on this side let's stay focused we're on the music and not the slot machines or the blackjack or the Yahtzee or whatever the fuck else they play come home well I mean I don't know why I don't really see Quavo reaching out to give that much of a fuck about Offset in the first place but one of my first thoughts was I'm not putting money in Offset's pocket for him to go gamble away I'm also not doing that you already there's that Cardi probably paying spousal support and child support you can you can waste that lady's money I'm not going to help you with your problem go see an addiction counselor that's what you need you need to go see somebody with a license and tell them the whole truth about what you're feeling and doing you know what I just thought of too maybe we've discussed this the amount of free alcohol so you're going there and you're diving into your gambling addiction and you're also drinking booze so there's that as well doing crazy shit when you're drunk and that's why they give it to you it's not hard to figure out drunk people make bad decisions so they give you free well liquor so that you'll sit there and drink it all up and then give them $88,000 in three hours yeah that is the point so yeah I think his issues are not going to be solved with studio time they're not going to be solved with another album coming out you need to go call the lady dot com you gotta do it you got to find somebody that is yeah you're absolutely right this is like I guarantee you nobody I wonder who's like actually thought of that because first of all this could have just been these niggas in the studios Keke and or whatever Quay was like or whatever come over quality control of the studio engineer producers like hey come through and they took some pictures you know hey here's an update on the Migos Instagram Quavo could have a project coming out with an Offset feature vice versa something like that it might not be a big deal but I do agree that regardless of how that money gets into Offset's hands at this portion of the story man I can expect that it will run right out like this yes right you need a conservatorship somebody to take charge of your bank accounts and things until you right back in your right mind because soon soon as them commas start coming back in that bank account he gonna start feeling a little tingly and the next thing you know that shit is gone no shade and that's like a it's a really fucked up addiction it is it absolutely is because you're right I think they see that money especially when you get that much of it right right right so easily it's like oh yeah tonight's gonna be my night I feel my palm Drake got the same issue but Drake seems to actually have more he actually seems to have more money than Offset do so maybe it's not affecting him to this degree you know he ain't got people coming around threatening to break his knees and shit because he don't pay their back but that nigga stay posting gambling shit and you know got caught up with that gambling app that's supposed to not be gambling but it obviously is or no it's something else remember cause he got sued oh steak steak steak whatever it was whatever it was so he just got another lawsuit like a week ago so you see behind that same thing you see so yeah niggas really do it's something about having that much money that almost feels like it's monopoly money like this isn't real right but it's very real but it is that is yeah it's very real nigga you gotta and when you've been rich for so long you can kind of start to feel like it can't run out and then it but it very can it very can and the thing about the Drake part of it too is that with that he gambles for free a lot of that like he's not gambling his own money oh yeah yeah yeah like gambling having a good time and promoting the app to people who actually are giving their own fucking money and that's part of the reason allegedly and that's part of the reason why they keep catching them cases but yeah I agree she's got to call the women and she's gotta get on the road that long couch and she's got to cry right because that money is going right back and imagine let's imagine these motherfuckers do get back together go on tour cake up sold out all over the place and next year nope you hear about Offset getting his dreads ripped out because he owe X, Y, and Z a whole bunch of money yeah devastation and now he out here looking crazy Cardi gotta keep the kids from him because he acting erratic and drinking all day and shit like that like it's just a the spiral is so easy when you have an addiction this is why it's so important to have people around you who actually give a fuck about you and not about your money you have alright there's only so many times I can say it nigga there's so many good luck yes man yeah yep in the entertainment industry especially with especially with rap like girl rap yeah rap's the worst mm-hmm sports is bad ooh yeah um I was just thinking that the niggas that athletes be having around it might be worse for athletes because they have real money true it takes longer to get real money these sports niggas be I mean hell in college they be signing million dollar NIL deals right so it might be worse for them when your homeboy you've known since y'all was three is like hey man I got a good idea what if I had a funeral home that served chicken when it's not a funeral going on like you know niggas will come up with something like that and then it's a strip club in the back what you think like niggas will come to you with something crazy and not me coming up with a good idea somebody's like let me write that down as long as like the chicken part is like on that on the side it's not directly in the funeral no mm-mm no but you're right and I feel like also because athletes when you're like a successful athlete it feels like it's like a very common like commonly agreed like whatever what's the word I'm looking for like I feel like just within the family it's agreed upon that this is like ideal this is something to like appreciate it feels like when if you make it into as a pro football player you know or even like you said like a really great college university team it feels like most of the family is like yes hands up whereas if you're a rapper it's kind of you might have something that's on board something that's not and when you i guess make real real rap money right then some people might get behind it so the athletes it's probably all the cousins all the aunties every bit of a oh yes since for everything since you were in eighth or ninth grade everybody been like oh that boy going pro oh that boy going pro that's my little cousin like the they've been on you heavy and it's hard to say no to your auntie yes it is no matter what she won't no matter what but then look at bro rilla and you know the fact that we really call her that i'm never calling her anything i don't know her name i don't care yeah as soon as you say no niggas is going on instagram live talk about how you never loved your meemaw and how dare you all she wanted was a cruise and to take all your aunties with her and how dare you not pay fifty eight thousand dollars so they can all go on the cruise how who knows how many more tom jorner got in her and you're just gonna say no how fucking like yes but i think athletes athletes gatekeep a little bit more what you need i have to guess you have to right whereas i think rappers when they make it even when they don't really make it but they just have enough instagram followers or you know their name is somewhere on the rolling loud lineup invite everybody no like it don't matter they don't even really gotta know this nigga a friend of a friend of a friend come and get up on stage with them at rolling loud and then you wonder why it's a shooting or something you don't know these niggas you but it's something like admirable to be deep right when you walk to the strip club or whatever you don't know these niggas these don't niggas don't know you a lot of them don't like you some of them plotting on you why you think drake birth control and shit was all over people's album cover because all right the girls just want to get into the vip yep they they literally just want to be part of the moment and but i also think these teams i think probably the elite college um team and the kids getting the massive nil deals and stuff like that that's coming through you know usually some sort of agent and i would think that they would set you up with some sort of financial advisor to be like we finna put an insane amount of money in your pocket you need to learn how to manage this because you know this this is not necessarily gonna last forever so i think maybe especially when you get to the pros they're probably a lot more intentional about setting you up whereas we're rappers it's just kind of like made it good for you uh and good luck i don't know how much the record labels are really investing in you like that as far as like you learning how to how to be rich because you yeah you you gain all this money but you still have a regular person's mindset so you're not going to take care of it the way you should that's true yeah yeah well i mean in about to wrap this up but you know since we're speaking about athletes and and you know they're carrying on i would just like to once again say a mighty fuck you to clay alexander tentacles you have a lot of black ass nerve huh yeah and you've just gone right back to looking goofy like it's really it's really absurd but you know yeah it is my girl is gonna be a fuck nigga megan ended her run on broadway early so oh i know that heart is hurting damn man i hate clay thompson he'll come back better than ever you can't really keep a warrior down you can't for real for real and ultimately that's one of those situations where you gotta look at it like in my opinion you were never made for a bitch that bad never like it would have never been in you even with all of your success your you know i you know material comfort financial comfort because you're damn sure weren't comfortable with your performance i suppose um there's still something about a woman who is gorgeous who can have anybody she want and doesn't need you for a fuck thing and the the quivering fear that this person might wake up one day and recognize that and walk into that it it scares you shitless and so you feel like you have to go and play games with somebody who is going to treat you like god like they do need you and lust over you and pine you but also feel like you have more control or more power or more claws in because the whole the thing about because i was saying like this whole thing about monogamy and oh i don't know if i want to be people who are really like polygamists people who are polyamorous the non-monogamy right out the door and they're like oh i don't know if i want to be like that and i'm like oh i don't know if i want to be like that yep hey here's what i'm about yeah right right you don't cheat and then get caught cheating and be like well i don't know if monogamy is for me i don't know if your teeth are for you either i don't know if both of your eyes but anyways let me shut the fuck up do you know pbs found out about people saying that i did and they have been on threads fully engaging they are sick of it they are sick i don't blame them are we in it i don't blame them people taking the logo and putting right up next to his head they're like okay listen look listen we didn't do nothing right right and we only survived thanks to donors and viewers like you right we are yet hanging on this is how you want to treat the people who brought you arthur and reading rainbow this is how you want to do us like right they should just post this they probably did no they they are their team meg heavy heavy so i do enjoy it but i'm just like wow the internet man undefeated literally yeah but fuck clay thompson that's it for the hot tops this week we're gonna take a break and then come back for your letters all right folks we're back and it is time for your listener letters yes it is glory send your questions to ask the read at gmail.com we may read them aloud on the show um a lot of you sent in letters about the atlanta live show y'all were very pissed at the audience and i just want to remind you that alcohol was indeed served okay so sometimes you just gotta let the girlies you know everybody talks back to the show when they're in their car and they just forget that they are not there anymore so but i'm gonna skip past all of that thank you though for your feedback um our first letter comes from mariah who says i wanted to ask kid fury how he feels about the upcoming ufc at the white house event do you think it's as tacky and stupid as i do i know you're an mma fan and a legendary sports commentator so i was just wondering if you'll be watching and who are some of your favorite fighters or favorite fights in the past year or so or all time well uh no i will not be watching the ufc trump edition i didn't even know that was happening yuck i mean it's one of those things where it's like oh yay thank you remind me um dana dana white is a big supporter of of trump and he's the oh okay uh so it isn't a huge shocker uh to me but uh yeah i won't be watching that particular fight um they hmm i love rose nama unis i love patty um i love anthony joshua that's boxing i can't really think of anybody else right now my mind's going my mind is going blank but yeah roman reigns that's pretty much it no oh not me trying to be part of it okay well all right i did my best all right chuck liddell and um that one crazy irish man all right thanks is it t fucking maga too hold on i would imagine in ufc most of them are all right it just seems like a very white boy heavy type of vibe connor mcgregor oh that's his name yeah i think he is oh he's super mega yeah well makes sense you know i'm not gonna name anybody else chuck liddell's probably mega too like i just want like when they punch and kick each other yeah okay well thank you my favorite fighter is anthony joshua and i loved seeing him beat the ever loving fuck out of that paul i don't even care which one he is i don't know which one's logan and which one is the other one paul paul brutus paul they look the same they both you know are just using a shit ton of money to act like they could do whatever they want to oh right a boxer right manga collector now one of them's pissed off nerds because he's like scalping things spent like five hundred thousand dollars to get this incredibly rare like japanese like a shonen jump cover which is like a manga magazine yeah and like a super rare pokemon card but then he doesn't know the name of these characters are you saying the name of this thing wrong or this is the first appearance of goku and it's not and the nerds are like get out of our town you don't deserve it you do not deserve it because you're just using money to pose like you're doing it to act like you're a fighter and then someone comes along who's like i don't care about that yes that sounds like you know how kim kardashian just be spending insane amounts of money to have like all of michael jackson's wardrobe and stuff like that it reminds that's what that sounds like to me like when super rich people just buy their way into something that matters culturally to a lot of others and they're just like you don't you legit don't deserve this and it's really unfair that you get to have it that's what that sounds like yeah it really is and i get that because it's not just him doing it either he has like business partners and weird investors and shit that are helping him do this stuff and it doesn't even matter that it'll get called out probably just think it's funny yeah but yeah i mostly just watch these things i have a couple even that one guy oh my god what's his name from miami i loved him too and i stopped watching his fights because he was maga but that shouldn't have surprised because he's from miami like jorge masvidal not us yes masvidal yep fuck i was so disappointed when i found that out because he cracks the girls haven't paid no attention to her since so yeah i mostly just try to watch them beat the shit out of each other and not get too invested because i heard everything you just said but it just occurred to me why the fuck is the ufc at the white like why i know that the owner is a trump supporter but why is the white house allowing the ufc to have any kind of event there like why are they eating mcdonald's in a bowl nothing makes sense anymore like i don't i don't know that's a great scene um barack obama president former president obama just did an interview with stephen colbert about the new presidential center that's opening up in chicago it's first of all hilarious because stephen colbert but president obama was basically like you know um a lot of stuff that i did or didn't do in my presidency it just kind of felt like you know not common sense but like you just obviously don't do that as president and maybe we need to turn these into law so that future presidents like because we now we've seen how far people will take it to hell maybe we need to actually put shit into law so that y'all can't just do whatever the fuck you want to do and i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't want to do because you're president and because you're in the white house and like yeah because why the fuck would the ufc have an event at the white house bro i don't know why is that happening i have no idea imagine if barack obama had the bt awards at the white house this is what i'm saying it's like are you what the fuck are you talking about oh it's so rude okay all right oh i forgot about angela hill oh yes can't forget i forgot about angela hill and kamara uzman yeah i love them too but again if one day i'll come out and be like oh yeah she said fuck kamala kamala i'm like all right what do you want from me i just like violence right um okay speaking of well never mind um our next letter comes from blanche who says i am an only child who was raised by a single mother who has a history of being immature and verbally abusive when things don't go her way i recently bought my first home and one day i was in home depot shopping i was on the phone with my boyfriend who was helping me because i really don't know what i'm doing as a new homeowner my mother called me while i was there complaining that one of her packages got stolen because i wasn't giving her my full attention and said that i needed to call her back she got upset which led to her sending me hateful text messages stuff like you can't even afford your house your hair is falling now everybody at your job hates you etc etc she has exhibited this kind of behavior for more than a decade at this point i then blocked her and because she couldn't reach out to me she tried to call my dad to bash me and even slid into my boyfriend's dms with a fake account asking him to call her i hadn't talked to her in a few months and recently she texted me asking how i'm doing and called saying that she doesn't want to go all her life not talking to me but she refuses to get therapy when i brought it up she said we don't need therapy we need god she one of those typically i would just let her re-enter my life but this time i refuse because her offenses were way too below the belt how should i move forward knowing that she is never gonna go to therapy thanks so much for your advice blanche blanche i think that in this case of a parent sliding into my niggas dms and all kinds of weirdness that therapy is going to be non-negotiable it's going to be sign on the dotted or shut your ass up yeah yeah it just really is i'm so sorry like we need god who says i don't have him what you got to do with this i speak to him every day come on and he too has said you know what she should go to therapy i hate the little like when parents do the little carrot of you know and but you're a parent and what about when i'm holding dead and what about it right because i'm in therapy now and so that'll just be the end of it you know what i mean like i'm in therapy now and so that'll just be the end of it not like if anybody need god is you and i think we we use that with therapy as an add-on you know you go through like your door dash or something you go to check out and be like oh yeah you want a mango smoothie right like girl you need to talk to the people right like you you have not given me any reason to have faith in your relationship with god because you get upset and start texting me like you're my number one hater yeah like you're my anonymous bitches on the internet are not this mean to me what are you so yeah i would i would tell her i'm not this is why i'm not speaking to you because you've hurt me profoundly and i don't know that it will always feel this way but right now i simply i don't have the space for you and i cannot i don't deserve and i cannot give you another chance on top of 8 000 chances that you've taken and shit it all over yeah happy mother's day maybe you could like work maybe you could like uh have a set as i don't know if that would i don't know how this would come off maybe like if you set up a session with your therapist or something it'll be like oh i'd like to have my mother sit with us or something something like that maybe we could do that you know sometime this month or whatever whatever and then approach your mother and be like so listen everything that we just said like this is how this is going to happen now i've already had someone who's agreed to talk to us this could be the day and the time yeah here's making it breaking it ma'am like what are we gonna right we're gonna do this and then from there you can see because i feel like if it's already on the docket she's still trying to play games i'm i would wonder what exactly is it that you're running from right i mean and family therapy exists for a reason so even if your therapist is like i'm not equipped to from what you've told me about you and your mama i'm not the one y'all need to talk to let me give you a referral to a to a marriage and family therapist because yikes um but yeah if if you say all that and you position this possibility and she's still 10 toes down on talking to jesus about it then i'm gonna just have to go let her yap to whoever she thinks she believes in because my god would never condone or sanction a mother talking to their child this way so again i don't know who your god is mine doesn't think that this kind of behavior is acceptable so good luck good luck figuring it out but yeah what are some of these mamas out here doing you have to change your expectations of your mother to match what she's actually giving you as opposed to what you deserve and all that pain hey got nothing to do with her either with you no it don't blanch her pain has fuck all to do with you but she's taking it out on you because you're the easiest target i bet she don't go to work screaming and hollering and people like this i bet she know when well i know who to be funky with i bet she do so yeah good luck baby um wishing you the best quite timely that this is happening right before mother's day here in the states but that's pretty funny um all right our next letter comes from frank who says hey kiv here and chrysal i was wondering what your thoughts are on the michael jackson movie will you be seeing it why or why not i saw the new biopic but i've also watched leaving neverland and listened to podcasts about his life i have mixed feelings to say the least he feels like another reminder that all the male artists are turning out to be creatures from the black lagoon and i just want to enjoy my music in peace i would love to hear what y'all think thanks frank all right frank um well i wasn't going to discuss this because i'm just rooting for everybody black no um i didn't have any intention of going to see this movie in fact i think when i watched the first trailer i knew i didn't want to see it um and i don't even think it's for anything like really deeply shaped i don't think it's for anything like really deeply shaped i don't think it's for anything like really deeply shaped i don't think it's for anything like a shady reason i think it's just kind of tricky to pull off a michael jackson script television film all of the attempts i've ever seen have been kind of like except when jason weaver played him as a job oh right um this while it looked like it was probably the best package for it the trailer also gave me we're going to do and then you know have knowing that the estate and everybody is all signed on for it and as a fan right i was like oh this is probably going to be a michael jackson playlist and focus on him you know being a superstar and everything he does on stage rather than the incredibly um layered complicated often confusing person that he he was so yeah all of those things combined together i was like at best i'll watch this on an airplane or something yeah i also have complicated feelings about it it feels like there's always some new documentary or something coming out where it's like yeah he touched on them kids no he didn't such and such said he did oh such and such recanted so it's like i i share frank's complicated mixed feelings about it however what it comes down to for me is first of all i was there at michael jackson's peak in the 80s and 90s so i very much remember a lot of like i was one of them people screaming crying passing out at the sight of that man so first music video premiere premiering premiere and had everybody on like a saturday afternoon locked onto the fucking tv like i've i've seen the man i was there first of all yeah for a lot of it obviously not the childhood and all that but number two i have seen countless michael jackson things i have read the books yeah i've seen the tv movies like there has been no shortage of covering michael jackson's life bro i i just don't need to see this movie there's nothing in this movie that i've never heard before so yeah it feels like the family the estate whatever is just trying to squeeze some more money out of his name and image and legacy and all that and i i understand that because capitalism but i yeah i don't what there's not gonna be something in there that we don't already know how many times can we tell the michael jackson story goddamn two things right what i'm laughing because i think it was the premiere for this that jamaid was at and uh dominique morgan was talking about his makeup and she was just like this is like a nasty day i can't remember what kind of beat she described it as but she was basically complimenting like the makeup judge and then said the eyebrows are rambunctious and i died at rambunctious being the description but jermaine who else was what's jermaine was there weren't they all what's her name latoya yeah latoya i saw latoya there i don't know if i saw janet but no i think she's probably the only one i didn't see i think she's the only one that didn't go yeah but yeah that's one thing i thought that video was very very funny because that lady's makeup is set every time she steps out the house the other reason other thing i thought of is to your point being there for a lot of it and then getting to the hbr now right the gloves and the jack it starts it almost starts to feel like walking past a souvenir shop at like disney or something where i see some of these like isms of his aesthetic and it just feels costumey it feels like i'm watching frozen live in front of cinderella's castle when you first walk in gorgeous show by the way moana as well don't know how they do it but yeah it feels a little like i don't know it doesn't speak to me yeah i know the boy playing michael is like his nephew or something um oh is he yeah jafar jafar jackson oh yeah there it is so and he favors him you know they all kind of look alike um so and i've heard good things about his performance i'm not taking anything away from that but the combination of mixed feelings not knowing what to believe and michael jackson fatigue i don't think i'm not in the theaters at least i won't be spending my twenty-five dollars to go see it in theaters um yeah i've seen this story once in a while one trillion times so yeah i know it a lot i do like a lot a lot i was that little girl begging my parents to pay for hbo so we could get the michael jackson concert and i was walking around with one glove on and with the socks and all of that baby i was doing all of that desperate to to nail that moonwalk i yeah yeah i remember when thriller dropped and my i've had to be itty bitty itty bitty bitty but i was afraid to watch it oh yeah and my grandmother i remember my grandmother was watching it in the other room she was having like lunch and she just at what point i heard her say oh i'm eating i don't remember i don't remember i don't know what part of the video it was she saw yeah but she was like okay wait a minute i'm trying to eat i will never forget that so yeah it's like um yeah and when i read the reviews and they were like well girl they're not really going there it's just right happy days are here again i'm like well yeah certainly i don't need to see this yeah i mean because that's a huge part of his life i understand why the family wouldn't want to touch it but that is a massive story that y'all are just leaving out of this movie so lots of reasons i won't be uh running to see that one but thank you for asking frank she must have been watching this on a cassette because i knew that thriller was way older than me yeah i feel like it was when it came i was about to say i don't know how you remember thriller coming out because i don't even remember thriller coming out she must have been watching this on a cassette or something like that in fact i think i do remember them having a bunch of michael jackson videos like on a collection thing so maybe that's what it was yeah but i do remember when i was a baby yeah it was like the one michael jackson thing i wouldn't look at because it was scary yeah um i was not allowed to watch my mom was like you and you are prone to nightmares and i won't be getting up in the middle of the night because you saw something the number of times i busted my ass trying to do that smooth criminal lean yeah that was ridiculous i was there baby i was there when that man like i it was the you know what really scared me to about it even not being in the room horrific turn it off grandma turn it off when you turn around and his eyes are all yellow nightmarish but i was also afraid of ursula oh specifically when she gets big at the end of the movie because i thought that was awful i okay that i don't remember that my mom tells me that did not scare me terrified at all of ursula when she gets gigantic at the end but we think about it it was pretty terrifying out in the ocean near death with your your white fiancee that's leagues older than you i don't know we're skipping over that part of the story i mean this humongous bitch and all this thunder and lightning who tried to take your man the tentacles you signed your voice over to that hoe yeah i liked her when she was all you know just being a gay just a regular cunt yeah poor unfortunate souls came up on my phone the other day i was like this is a bop what a piece of music are the disney songs we don't do it as much anymore there's still like what a couple of disney records are out albums movies to come out with a a soundtrack and the kids sing it oh yeah this would be like every film well incanto charted we don't talk about bruno was like the number one song in the country for months that's genuinely the last one that came to my mind just now because i ran miss bruno do you hear me oh yeah that song yeah go lemon well miranda baby you'll never starve yeah never not once not a single day cheese bacon it's so good all right our last letter comes from daria who says i'm a 32 year old black gay man cincinnati and i am autistic for the last two years i found myself in this cycle of pushing my social limits too far which in the past has caused me to crash out on my friends in the middle of a bar a few months ago i moved in with a friend and we've been hanging out with her friends a lot more all of them are really nice people and i even feel myself forming my own connection with some of them my issue is that all we really ever do is go out to bars or clubs and i'm becoming irritated and exhausted i didn't grow up with friends i didn't get the college experience and i've never been in a relationship with a friend i've never been in a relationship with a friend i've never been in any sort of romantic relationship so sometimes i feel like i'm extremely socially stunted i like going out but it's never been my choice of fun i'm a homebody and my idea of a good time outside of the house consists of dinner and maybe an activity like dave and busters or a movie i love it my friend knows that you know what you like and like what you know uh my friend knows this about me because i've expressed it to her but again all we ever do is go out and i'm reaching the point where i'm just ready to go out and i'm ready to go out and start refusing and stay home instead watching tv because i don't think anyone understands how stressful and anxiety inducing going out can be for me i'm the only gay guy in the group so i feel kind of isolated and i'm constantly worried about whether people are looking at me it isn't until i've had a few drinks that i can start to relax and i don't really know how to exist comfortably in these spaces my question is am i a bad friend for choosing my peace over being social i feel like doing so will let people down i realize that my friends don't have to do everything i want to do but it sucks that i voice my desires and it feels like i'm being ignored my friend has said that i don't show up for people because i refuse to go places because of anxiety or feeling like people won't like me being neurodivergent is really hard in a world that sees us as a burden it feels as if i'm constantly accommodating everyone else and no one is willing to accommodate me any advice will help i want friends and i'd like to get out more but not at the expense of my sanity thanks daria daria i feel like had a couple things going on here um but first i will say love i don't think that it's wrong to choose a peanut butter and jelly sandwich over being social bitch like i don't you know what i mean especially if you know that you're not going for it and it sounds like he's saying you know i'm over it or i'm tired of it yeah uh which is completely valid uh so i don't think there's anything wrong with choosing what's comfortable for you over putting yourself in social settings that you that will make you uncomfortable especially if it might cause you to crash out on yourself or others around you because you're uncomfortable never worth it right stay right underneath them covers and watch hoppers or swapped or whatever these other things are um there's that i can't help but think about the uh the um well let me say this i think it is always great to it's a great idea to be the one to set up the date hey y'all yep you know what i've been wanting some dinner and dave and busters and spoiler alert you have dinner at dave and busters so meet me there this friday at what you know i mean set up the judge and see you know how that goes so at least you have the people in your playing field and then the last thing i was saying is how i couldn't help but think about how about you mentioning feeling uh uncomfortable isolated or anxious about people looking at you because of you know just by being outside right i feel like that's a little little parallel a little attached to you know what i mean it's a little a little sector yeah of the conversation but that's what i got yeah um i agree that if you first of all if you are if you feel yourself getting close to snapchat and you're like oh lapping at people because you don't want to be in the club stay home everybody would rather you stay home then go out and be miserable so that's first things right secondly is they keep going to bars and clubs like that's the plan because that's what they like to do like kid fury said if you want to do something else propose it to the group i know you said these are not really your friends they're your friends friends so you know it it may be that you get her on board first and then you extend the invitation out to the the greater group and then you get her on board first and then you extend the invitation out to the the greater group and see who all wants to go but yeah um i i wouldn't i don't really look at this as like no one is accommodating you it sounds like the friend group doesn't even know this about you it's just the friend that you live with and she's like well every week in our group chat these niggas is like what club we going to and and we like going to the club so we go so i think everybody's just assuming that you will stay home if you don't want to go because they would stay home if they didn't want to go um facts they would they would yeah um so uh kid fury gave you some great advice i would also say every friend is not for everybody work same way you're not a good friend for everybody in the world everybody in the world is not a good friend for you and it is perfectly okay it's actually a good idea to find friends who match the shit that you want to do or that you care about so i mean this internet can be great for this social media can be great for this especially because you like being at home the other people who like being at home are at home on their computer playing video games and shit like you can chat meet up with people i'm sure you're not the only person in cincinnati who wants to go to the dave and busters and then go home and stream something like you can't be you can't be right so it's also fine to you know hang out with these friends maybe once a month or every few months something that doesn't push you to the point of being stressed but if you want to do something different propose something different like i think yeah if you really hit the nail on the head with that one like you feel like damn i need to go out i need to make more friends i need to be more social it's okay to to be the person who has the idea for you know what we're gonna do on friday or saturday or whatever like you can you can be that person you might meet other people at dave and busters that right then where y'all playing laser tag or whatever and y'all just start really clicking and the next thing you know y'all playing games together and now you didn't made a whole new friend, like. - Right. But yeah, this is. Or make friends with the people who work at David Buster's. That's a really good one. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So use that employee discount on your food because them chicken tend to spend to be $38. Right. Not on my watch. Have them slide you some free fries, you know, or Icy or whatever. Oh, you know, just things like that. I think your mind is getting in the way here. It almost feels like you. Well, no, you outright said you feel like if you say no to the invite that you're going to let people down. This sounds like a group of niggas. So unless you were supposed to go one-on-one with somebody to the club and then you dropped out at the last minute, they're probably not going to be let down. They're going to be like, oh, all right, Daria. Well, we'll see you next time, girl, or something like that. And then they're going to go out and have their time. So I think because you're autistic and you said you feel. You feel like that you are socially stunted. You've never really had friends. You never had that college experience and all that. You may be really critical of yourself and hard on yourself. You feel like maybe. Well, you said you go out with the fear that people won't like you, that everybody is staring at you, judging you, evaluating. All of that is very common for neurodivergent people. So my heart goes out to you in that regard. It's, you know, things that a lot of people deal with. But again, we find ways to do things that work with us without. And pushing yourself is fine, but not to the point of where you feel like you're going to lose your sanity. That's where it's too hard. So, yeah. But there are people out there who match your vibe completely. There are. And, like, to what Crystal was saying about going to your friend first, expressing how you. You feel, and maybe y'all can together be like, "Oh, you know, this is what we're going to do." Or your friend could be like. You know, Daria really wants to go to Dave & Buster's. If you have, like. I'm just saying, if you have, like, anxiety of presenting it to the group for the first time or whatever, you know, maybe your friend could sort of help discuss it with you or just kind of help you enter that place if you have anxiety for it. But I promise, like, a lot of the times people who just kind of locked in to go into the club on the weekends, it's not because they only want to go to the club. Many of them want to get the week up off of them. That's a, like, a one plus two kind of idea for it. But you'd be surprised how many of them would be down to do all sorts of other things if they were suggested. So, yeah, I think you try it out, see what happens. But don't go outside feeling like you're a burden to anyone. -Yeah. -And don't say outside if you need to lose your mind, girl. Matter of fact, in the club, figure how many actual burdens exist in the club, girl. No, that's so real. So, you give yourself a break, babe. You got to. Like, I'm definitely a bar-- Me and Jay was just at the bar last night. We went on the complete wrong day. We supposed to be there for Amina's birthday party. Baby, that is next week. But we said, "Well, bitch, since we here--" -Oh, you meant the literal wrong day? -Yeah. I thought you meant it was like a game or something. Oh, no, no, no. Well, the game was on. But we was like, since we came out here anyway, the Thunder Game is on, we might as well have some drinks, roll up some weed, sat outside, talk. I didn't exchange phone numbers with this girl. We supposed to meet up again next week. And, you know, like, we just ended up-- I'm definitely that person. But if somebody was like, "Bitch, let's go to, like, you know, the Museum of Sex or whatever, or the Museum of--" New York got a trillion little shits to go around and do like that, hell yeah, let's go do that. -You know, like, I'm-- -Love an adventure. I love an adventure. So, you just got to try it out and see how it goes. And maybe these are your people, maybe they're not. But you're definitely not-- It's not impossible for you to make friends. You just kind of got to tweak your approach. -Yeah. You got this. -All right. You do, babes. What is a jet-too holiday? I know I'm super old. I know this is an old-ass reference. -Wow. So-- -But there's nothing like a jet-too ho-- They're just talking about, like, a plane to vacation? So, jet-too is, um-- Or jet-too holidays is, like, an airline, I think, in Europe. And so, they had an ad on TikTok a few years ago that was like, "Nothing beats a jet-too holiday. And right now, a family of four can travel for 900 pounds or whatever." And then niggas took "Nothing beats a jet-too holiday." And it was all-- I mean, when I tell you that sound clip was all over the place, and then they started remixing it. Somebody put a bounce beat behind it and had a little freedom to it. -That was my discovery. -Okay. -Yeah, like, I heard it as a bounce record first. -Okay. Yeah. But I was like, "What the fuck does this come from?" I thought it meant, like, a jet-too vacation. -Like, a jet-too vacation. -Oh, a lot of people thought-- Especially Americans, 'cause we don't have jet-too holiday over here. -Right. -So, but then-- I mean, the giveaway should have been when they said pounds instead of dollars. But I guess we just ignored that. But, yeah, it is a-- It was a TikTok. Or maybe it was an ad in general, but, yeah, an ad that turned into-- -It was a TikTok. -Turned into a trending TikTok sound. And then it got so big that people put all kind of music behind it. And I can't believe you're just now hearing about it. No, I didn't just now hear about it. Well, something that you just said made me think about it. And I was just like, "I don't know that I know what that means." "Nothing beats a jet-too holiday." -Hilarious. -Yeah. So, all right, we're gonna wrap up the questions right there. If you have something to add, ask us, send us an email, babe, [email protected]. We'll be right back. All right, germs, it is time for The Read. Mm-hmm. Take it away, 'cause mine's pretty silly. All right, well, the Klay Thompson debacle has been all over the internet for a while now. And, um. That means that all kinds of niggas are commenting on it, including one Mason, and the Klay Thompson debacle has been all over the internet for a while now. -Mason was. -What did my Mace say? - -Mace is on a podcast with Cameron -and somebody called "Sat Baby." -Yeah. Um, it's called "It Is What It Is," which is. -Yep. -All right. -Um. -I have a jacket that says it. -So, they were. -I have merch. That's one thing. But, anyway. Um, so they're discussing the Klay and Megan breakup, and Mace and Betha said, "Klay is 6'7", light-skinned, with good hair as an athlete. He didn't need Megan. If you 6'7 and you light-skinned with good hair, you could have anybody, and I think we all know that. Ladies tell the truth. A guy in the hood could be six feet tall, light-skinned, with good hair, and he's gonna have his pick of the litter wherever he go." And so then the other nigga was like, "You know, I feel like you contradicting yourself, 'cause if he could choose anybody, he chose her, so this is not really making sense." And Mace was like, "Nah, if you cheated, you didn't choose her. A lot of people, you know, blah, blah, blah, and he didn't choose it, that's why he's out." Which don't make sense, because Megan is the one who broke up with him, not the other way around. But it's something about a grown man saying that another grown man can get whatever he wants because he's 6'7 and light-skinned, with good hair, that really didn't sit right in my spirit. So, you know, I had to go do just a little, just a pinch of research. Um, first of all, I found out that Mace is 5'9". -I said, "Yeah." -Oh, yeah. Figured there was some kind of insecurity there. Um, I had to look up his wife. She's some-- uh, some-- I don't know what-- probably racially black, but also kind of light-skinned, look a little #exotic, you know, like a grandma or somebody. -Yeah, you know, you know, #exotic. -Yeah. Um, I said, "Okay, okay, this is starting to track." Um, and then I tried to look up his kids. These children are not really on the internet, -which is a great thing. -Good, yeah. I don't think they're actually that young anymore, but I found a clip of Mace talking on his podcast last year, and he was saying that his son is 6'2" and was in AAU basketball, which, again, I was like, "All right." So now, you know, things are starting to come together for me-- to me, which is like, I'm wondering why you, as a grown man, would put some light-skinned, biracial nigga on, like, this pedestal in your mind, and now your life choices are starting to, you know, paint a clearer picture for me. Like, he's talking about how his son was 12 years old and 6'2", AAU, and so he was like, you know, "Obviously, this is my little-- my baby. He's gonna go pro. He's gonna do this, this, this." And one day, this child, you know, in the middle of an AAU tournament or whatever, was like, "Dad, I don't want to play basketball no more." And Mace was like, "What are you talking about, nigga? Like, you light-skinned at 6'2. Of course you finna play basketball." And this little boy said, "I don't want to play basketball. I want to be an intellectual." And Mace said, "What the fuck is an intellectual?" Now, I think this same child is now in college somewhere or studying overseas in England or something like that, but I just-- He said, "Don't worry." He said, "Huh, okay." Well, I mean, and to Mace's credit, he did come around and say, you know, "My kids live through my vision until they tell me they own vision for themselves." And now he off somewhere being very smart. But I had to ask myself, why would a successful woman Successful, short, dark-skinned man say something like this about somebody else. And through just maybe 15 minutes of Internet searching, I found my answer to that. It's very possible that you have lived a life where you felt dismissed by the people you valued the most. Maybe the light-skinned girls with long, curly hair didn't want you in middle school or whatever. Maybe you always wanted to go to the league, but you tapped out at 5'9", stuff like that. And so maybe you've always felt a little bit like you weren't good enough. And so you made some choices in your life to try to ensure that your children don't go through that. However, light-skinned with good hair, what are we talking about? Are we legit? First of all, you can be 6'7 and light-skinned with quote-unquote good hair and still be ugly as fuck, which is what Clay Thompson is. Happens all the time. But secondly, why are we still referring to people as having good hair in the year of our Lord, 2026? Why is this even being said? Yeah. When a Black person talks about good hair and it's not like a critique of Western beauty standards or white supremacy or whatever, it's immediately like, oh, I know what you are. I know what you are. Because who talks like that? You talking about them little curls that might pop up on his head when he let it grow out a little bit? Is that what you're calling good hair? Them waves? Baby. We just can't. I won't allow good hair to prosper. You could have said the rest of this. This is a stupid thing to say. You could have said the rest of this and I would have let you rock. Good hair is absolutely not it, nigga. You are too old. You've been around for too long to be saying shit that fucking ignorant. Clay barely has hair. Is that the type of man that you like to look at? Tall and light skin with curly hair? Why would you say something like this? It's really boggling my mind. This is good hair? This is what I'm saying. Y'all just say that about. No, it's not good hair or bad hair. It's just hair and you're being weird. Like, I really thought we got over this by 2005 at the latest. I can't believe niggas are still out here saying this. It makes you sound insecure. As fuck. I don't understand how. Are you not deep in your 50s? Talking about a tall light-skinned nigga with good hair can get whatever. And light. Okay. All right. I mean, his hair is probably the only dark-skinned thing about him. So I don't even know where. There's a lot of weirdness going on with Mace internally for you to look at Clay Thompson and think, yeah, that nigga can. Not even he can have whoever he wants because he's an NBA star. That would have made a lot more sense. But yeah, yeah, you're being weird. And I would not be shocked if you always. You're fired to be that tall light-skinned nigga with the curly hair. Maybe that was who your crush really wanted when you were in 10th grade and she decided not to be with you. And so you wanted that for your son. But you really. If he was Mace, how old was he when he was popping? Oh, I don't know. I'm looking at. But who was ever like, Mace would be so fine if his hair was looser in texture? Nobody. What? I think people thought Mace was cute just. Did. Because he was. He just had a cute. He was cute. He was cute. He was cute. He had a big, pretty smile. Like, that was all you. Anyway. It just was extremely bizarre to me. I did not like it. So I made a note to bring that up. And then I was going to talk about MIA, but then we did that during the topic. So. I was like, whoo! Now go one off my. Because that bitch! The gumption and the gall to be an immigrant yourself and to be a Republican. All right. All right. She doesn't even go here. You literally don't even go here. And then you want to spin the block talking about God's gaslighting her words is of Satan. You. Okay. But you're. But Satan's right there. Okay. And what do you mean don't gaslight your words? What kind of sense does that make? Yeah, that doesn't even. You can't gaslight words. You can gaslight people. Oh, no. Not words. You can gaslight your dog. Like when I turn on this video camera when I'm gone and then talk to Lainey through it. That is so fun. It is so fun. I used to absolutely carve links nerds. It is the best. Over it. But you give them a little treat from it. But it's like, yeah, mommy's in the walls and I'm watching you. She's like, bitch, where are you? It is so funny when they do like. And then eventually they're like tippy-toe over to the thing. And then she starts sniffing at the camera, right? Licking at the camera like, bitch, come out of there. It's so fun. You can't gaslight words, you weird bitch. But yeah. Okay. Well, speaking of protecting our children, this just goes out. To Nintendo. Do something about this marketplace. First of all, if you parents out there, guardians, if you have a young person, a kid who has a Nintendo Switch or a Switch 2, please monitor them or find a way to keep them off of the marketplace without your supervision, right? Because on one hand, I'm tired of the Nintendo marketplace because it's riddled with AI slob. There's a lot of like bootleg versions of it. There's another game, but it's AI. I don't even know why a lot of these are available for purchase because what the fuck is going on? But then some of them have the word hentai in the title. Now, I don't. What? I'm not going over there to that. I do know that Nintendo is very. Like, Nintendo doesn't have games on there with nudity, I think. Like, when Dispatch dropped a. A couple months or so ago, it was the only version of the game that had the nudity censored. So, Nintendo, for the most part, doesn't do that. So, I don't know if these games have full-fledged nudity in them. I haven't gone to look. But what I do know is it's called like. It'll be some shit like hentai girlies or hentai love triangles or something with these sexy big-breasted women on the stuff. I'm like, why the fuck does Nintendo have hentai AI puzzles or whatever? On their marketplace next to Mario Party. Like, what? But then you'll have like. We got Roblox at home. Or like. Instead of House Flipper, it's like. House Adjustment Simulator 2026. Nintendo, Miyamoto, Mario, Ouija. Stop. Do something about this. Crank down on this shit. The way that you crank down on all of your intellectual properties. Bitch, if somebody draws Mario on Instagram or something, you'd be like, well, did you pay for it? Well, do you have the license? Well, I think you should take it down. Like, Nintendo's incredibly litigious. They're up there with like Disney. Probably worse. So, if you're going to have the suits and the people and the offices jump down everybody's throat for streaming Smash Brothers or whatever the fuck. You can get the big-breasted titty. Garbage off of your marketplace. Especially when it's right next to Yoshi's Story or something like that. This poor baby just trying to log on here and find Luigi's Mansion. And here goes hentai. I'm Nintendo. I don't like that. Every time I hop on that marketplace, even when it's the dumb AI shit, it gets on my nerves. Because, like, Nintendo, why? If this was like, honestly, anything else. If it was the PlayStation. If it was the PlayStation marketplace, if it was Xbox, if it was PC, I would still say, hey, do something about this. But Nintendo is Nintendo World. You go down to the Universal, you get on the market part. Yes, it's great. You go and you buy the Donkey Kong ice cream and stuff. It's great. You're supposed to be for the children. Why are there titty puzzles? Or titty dating sims or whatever the fuck. And a big bitch is asking her six-year-old if they want to go on a date. Yeah. I hate that for us. I don't like that. But that's really it. I was also going to say, I don't like that. I was also going to talk about Logan Paul being a fake nerd. But I guess we already talked about that, too. Yeah. This is not a read. But shout out to Blue Ivy Carter for ignoring everybody on that carpet who told her to take her shades off at the Met Gala the other day. You don't tell me what to do. Baby, when I tell you Ty got in her face twice, Miss Yvette was like, the glasses, the glasses, the glasses. Trying to get Beyonce to do it. Jay-Z came over and was like, your shades. She was like, can everybody calm down? I know what I'm doing. I'm not going to A princess to you. I have a plan. I will remove the shades as I ascend the steps. I will turn and say a few words to the girlies screaming my name. And then I will go inside the function. She sat there, baby. They were begging that child to take her shades off. Pleading. She was like, get out of my face. Do you understand why they're called hater blockers? They're doing their job. Back up. I've got this. I have watched that clip so many times. That baby did not. And then her go Beyonce just standing there like, I can't do nothing with her. I don't know what you want me to do. She has a vision. Just let her. I'm not telling her to take that shit off. I'm not. Paparazzi screaming. The glasses are part of the fit. Father, come join us for our photo. Thank you so much. Now, can everybody leave me alone? I love she said, I'm going to take it off up there. That girl was like, this is my first mat. I'm finally popping out and showing niggas. I've got this. Like, don't act like I don't have a plan here. OK, carry this lady's train. OK, she's talking about this outfit is heavy. She's trying to move her. You worry about her. I have got this gown, this jacket and these shirts. Leave me alone. I mean, and that gown looked heavy, but blue Ivy. I mean, not to let's not forget this child is like 14 years old. So, yes, she's she's taller than her mama. She's graceful and beautiful. And, you know, obviously styled to the gods. But she's 14 years old. And we've known since she was in utero that she was the manager over there in that Knowles-Carter household. So whatever she says goes and she'll take the shades off when she's good and goddamn ready before she goes inside. Because she's not tacky. I thought that was so funny. I was this little girl. And Beyonce just beaming like, I'm just so happy. My baby, my baby. She was so happy she was there. Just proud. Yeah. So I did think it was funny. There was like five different people to take the shades off. And she was like, literally just ignoring them. I'm not even just kept smiling and posing with her mama and a paparazzi. Only God knows how many paparazzi screaming at her. She's like, no, see, no, be upset. Literally, no. Oh, I love that for her. I really do. Yeah, me too. But that's it for me. Anything else for you as far as the show goes? I have a live show coming up in Los Angeles at the Roxy Theater. It will be on June 3rd. So if you'd like, there are tickets available now. You can go to the link in my bio on Instagram.com slash Kid Fury. Shout out to Kenya Hill for being on Furious Thoughts last week. We had a really great time. She's incredible. She's incredibly beautiful and very, very kind. And she helped me learn how to pose. So when I get my sexy on, you know, who coached me. I thought there was something else I wanted to say about the show. About the read. Yeah, that's what I thought. That's what I thought you were going to do. Stuff about the show. Not that, but that's also fine. No, there's something else I'm forgetting. Yeah. What am I forgetting? I don't, I don't know. Follow us on social media at This Is The Read. Website is This Is The Read. ThisIsTheRead.com. Thank you to Sacred for having me at your pre-met gala party. I had a ball. I had just, them people really know how to throw a party. It was a great time. Excellent. Yes. Thank you to Dr. Joy for being on this week's episode of Crystal's Couch. Again, we talked to a live caller together. That was quite interesting. Crystal's Couch on all platforms for more of that. And yeah, is there, is there anything else? Atlanta. Oh yes. Atlanta. I think that's what I was thinking of. What a fun time. I had a good time. Thank you all. I had a good time too. Thank you all for coming, for being so engaging. That bitch who pulled out that last airbender TED talk. We can wrap this right up. Me screaming. And I'm not even pivoting to you. I just have to say that that was so funny. It was so like, if you're going to come up to the mic and do a bit, that's how the fuck you do it. It was so silly and funny, but also if you watch the show, you'll understand that they're incredibly silly political statements that she was making actually apply. It was just really funny whether you watch the show or not, that shit sent me, it was so hilarious. It was, I have to give it to you. I have to give it to you, miss girl. You really ate that up. I'm probably still not going to watch that show right now, just out of pure spite and pettiness. I'm probably not going to watch it. Also, if you wanted a link to a lot of the research that I have read and written about on emotional abuse and neglect, I did post that on my threads, as I promised I would. It's a lot of links. It's a lot of information. But if you actually do care to learn, it is there. Oh, and thank you to the Signal Awards. I am a judge. This year at the Signal Awards, yes, I'm very excited to review your submissions and your work and be a part of that. So, yes, if you have a show that is eligible to be nominated, please submit. And, yeah, thank you to Signal Awards for extending the opportunity to me. I'm very grateful. And, yeah, things are happening. All right. Sounds good to me, bitch. All right, everybody, take care of yourselves and be good. We will see y'all next week. Bye.
