It's chicks in the office with Re and Fran giving you that Friday energy on a Wednesday. Happy Wednesday everybody. How are we feeling? Middle of the week. We're home from Palm Springs. What's going on? Just adjusting a bit to the time. It's like we were just on the west coast long enough to start to adjust to that time and then you come right back and you got to get back. Coming back to the east coast is always harder because it's like when you go to the west coast it's like oh you're going to bed earlier, you're waking up earlier, got more of the day, light time. When you come back to the east coast it's like oh you want to sleep till noon and then you're up till 3am like it's a disaster. Oh totally. I got smacked in the face with one of the worst migraines I've ever felt in my entire life getting off our red eye flight and my god has it dwindled in today too but it's finally wearing off and my back is killing me. It's one of those moments like damn I'm 29 huh? I slept wrong on the plane. I don't know what happened next. And you know what? Not to immediately bring up the California the heat but it really was it's such a dry heat that like you I felt like my skin was was crackling by the time it came inside. Like you were like you thought you were outside you come back inside it then you would touch your skin is like it was like sandpaper. I genuinely think I got such a bad migraine from going like to the extreme heat to coming home and it was raining in New York and just feeling like absolute dog like I just feel like dog shit but you're right I texted you yesterday I said do you feel like your skin is turning into leather because I looked in the mirror I said oh my god look like I aged fucking 50 years from Palm Springs. Now you know moisturizing water rejuvenated getting out of that that real dry desert heat feeling you know coming back to life just a tad bit but yeah we're back hopefully everyone enjoyed our dancing with the stars con panel it seems as though you did we had so much fun and just ready for the rest of the week. Yesterday I was able to talk and announce the Outer Banks official podcast coming to Netflix which I am so excited about and I just want to give a little bit of a backstory for newer listeners who maybe don't know the lore because I know that if you listen back then then you get the lore so this is a little background story but when Outer Banks first came out in spring of 2020 we were all locked down it was quarantine and the show came out on Netflix and I was obsessed like from the moment I hit play on this show I was utterly obsessed I told everybody to watch it and I actually found the old tweets where it was like on I watched Outer Banks I came on the show and I was like I would die for John B and I was like you guys need to fucking watch this show and you guys watch and then friends like you know what I would also die for John B holy fuck and then Robbie Fox I didn't even realize how much you know Robbie's a good friend good friend of ours and I went back and I was like oh my god Robbie was so involved in it too at watching from us like oh my god I'm obsessed with this show it just it started taking off obviously not just from us but the entire world became obsessed with it and we were like we got to get these people on the show so Chase Soaks and Madeline Klein came on to checks in the office and then Rudy and JD did as well and I took I would die for John B and I was like merch merch got to happen so we made it's a merch and so many people bought this merch like celebrities were buying it the cast itself wanted it to be sent to them so much so that during quarantine at this time it was during COVID Dave had texted being like guys like this merch has sold like over a million dollars worth of merch and is genuinely helping us during this time because the whole world had shut down and that out of banks genuine thank you yeah it was like thank you because you know we have to make money at this company and this merch is genuinely helping us which was so cool and at that time to be able to you know make money for the company it was incredible especially during that time so then from there I practically was begging every day to be a part of the show like I knew the second season was gonna start filming soon and I was like oh my god please get me on the show please get me on the show get rea hashtag get re on outer banks was trending on twitter because I was begging people to tweet about it I made a terrible like a phony parody audition tape which I will maybe post because it was so insane it's obviously not a real audition tape but I was like anything for these people to get to see how badly I want to be on this show and then going into season two now we fast forward like a year later to 2021 season two comes out and there's a role in season two where we were watching and I remember Fran being like I feel like you could have done that role and I was like I also feel that way what the fuck then Chase Stokes goes on a radio station and tells the hosts of the radio station that that role was supposed to be mine I didn't get the call I didn't know that I was like who knew that role was supposed to be mine not me and they had said chase the Madeline came back on a little before that and said oh you know we wish we could have gotten you on the show but with covid rules and all that and I'm like have this other girl get on so it just became like a funny back and forth then you fast forward to I want to say it was 2024 or 2025 I forget exactly what year it was but Chase Stokes goes on Penn Badgeley's podcast and Penn Badgeley says to Chase like this is your first podcast and Chase goes yes it is I was utterly shocked and disappointed came on to our show and said are you kidding me Chase yeah you don't remember that the first ever show you guys did was checks in the office so that was like a real slash fake beef yeah like it was and that was the he had only been on our show on on zoom on zoom we had never met Chase in person yeah so it was only on zoom like multiple times but never in person so he said you know I think it meant like first podcast in person yeah so it was like this fake beef whatever and obviously we have talked about him a bunch and you know his extracurricular activities as well so then it be can't like became like a thing like oh okay um I put my life on the line for this guy what the fuck uh you know really laid my heart out yep so then fast forward to now where my agents call and tell me that Netflix called them and asked for me to do this and my reaction was absolutely but are you sure and they're okay with this like I genuinely was like is the cat is does the cast know that it's me yeah right man uh they were like yes they're excited dada dada and it was it's just an insane opportunity I was so honored that they asked me and trusted me with this I think people are gonna love the interviews they really I sat down which each of with each of them individually and then the last one is like a group one separated with the guys and the girls and I really think that people I don't want to give much away but I really think people are going to thoroughly enjoy these interviews and really see how they felt about growing up on the show them as people in real life um some stories people have never heard all of that it was I honestly left being touched by multiple of these interviews and I will say chase and I because I had a lot of people my DMs asking uh obviously I was extremely nervous to meet chase in person after the back and forth because there also has been a little bit of like there's been a little bit of a couple of moments where we've tried to have him back on and he like has from what we were told
like said no. So we were like, ooh, like this, we've actually struck a chord here. Like this is now very awkward. >> Yes, which is why I was like, are you sure they're okay? >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. >> With this. And he could not have been nicer, funnier, amazing about the whole situation. As soon as we saw each other, he walked on and was like, I'm ready for my first podcast. And that broke the ice immediately and we caught up and we talked and it was great. And I have more things to share the week of August 20th that I think people will love. But I walked away being like, he was amazing, genuinely like he was great, just a great person. They all were obviously, but I think a lot of people, it made me ecstatic, I think a lot of people were asking like, like, I lost him in between people in the middlemen, we just needed to have, we needed to see him face to face. You needed to have that combo, I'm glad you did. >> We did and also he was so nice about just like us talking about things in general. Like he was like, it was very funny. And I think people are really going to love what he said and what everybody else said about their time on the show. And yeah, I feel so honored that I was asked to do it. I know that we've joked around about like show podcasts before, which is so funny. Not every show needs a podcast, but if you know me, then you know I firmly believe Outer Banks does. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Especially this cast doesn't do a lot of interviews, they really haven't. And especially in this way, in this format, and kind of like diving deeper. So I couldn't have been more honored and excited and ecstatic. And I am so happy with the way I went. And obviously I have not seen the final product so. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know. >> Well, the teaser looks stunning, you looked amazing. >> Thank you, thank you. >> It looked so cool, I'm so excited to watch it. You know, not every show may need a podcast, but if they ask you to host, they definitely need it. >> They definitely, that's the thing, if they ask us to host, then then available. >> Yeah, so I was like, yes, obviously a huge opportunity. >> And I feel like the timing makes sense though, it's not like a season one podcast kind of thing. This is like, the show is ending, so it makes the most sense to do it. It's like, oh, the show is ending, this is a one off special podcast to commemorate the whole show and get to talk to them and deep dive and everything. It's not just like a podcast that is part of a show, every single episode of a show that has a podcast. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's a culmination. >> And it's so different. >> Exactly. And I think it's extremely meaningful, especially like you said the last season at all. So it's not a recap podcast. It is genuinely, like, sit down interviews with each cast member, which I think makes it incredibly special and I couldn't believe, like, getting this call, because I genuinely was like, there's no way, Jason wants me to do this. But they did and that was awesome. And I will say when I first saw, like, the outer banks, like, headline in the email for my agents when it first came through, I was like, they throw on me in, am I finally getting this? >> Is this finally the email? Like, are they editing this? >> But they have a spot for me? >> We need to slice in a little of Ria in the final season. >> No, it was not a role, but I may argue that this was even better than being thrown into a role on to the show. >> And more fitting. >> And yes, and more fitting as this is my job. And I am a wannabe actress who has no credits. So yes, and they- >> Sorry, I was just thinking of the Stephen Baldwin quote, you said that, so- >> Yes, it's just like, it's just like partially, Ria could put this quote out better so I literally sent it to the group with a photo shot picture of me because Stephen Baldwin said, oh, so fucking funny, he said, I probably could have pointed myself in the direction of becoming a big star, but that wasn't me. I didn't want to be Tom Cruise and have to make $100 million at the box office. I'd rather be a schmuck from Massa Piqua, couldn't be- >> Couldn't be more me. >> Really is you. So, so funny, but I am so excited and Netflix was amazing and they really let me kind of take control of like coming up with the questions and feeling where- cuz that's what we do best. And we don't- I don't know how other shows work, but we kind of just go with the flow with our interviews and that's the feel that they wanted and I think that's what people are going to get is kind of just like seeing where the conversation goes and I think it went into some really interesting places and obviously, like I said, I don't have final cut or say of what's being in or out so- but I know that it's going to be great and I can't wait for an a watch and I'm so, so, so, so excited. I'm really just- I was like jumping up and down yesterday because I think, especially this show and this is going to sound really cheesy and actually after I filmed it, I like wrote a whole thing in my notes app, basically all my feelings about being able to do this. And I said that like this show came at a time for me when I needed comfort the most and I think that's to be said for a lot of people because we were locked down in quarantine. But I also like was having some personal things going on and it was in a time where like I wasn't my best or doing my best and I was depressed and whatnot and I- the show as cheesy as it was like brought so much happiness to me and so much comfort and being able to like also do things at work with it like just made it all so cool so it was like for me a professional milestone but also a personal one because I keep repeating that it was cheesy but like I- this show really did come at a time where I felt like I needed connection and I think that they did a great job at making people feel that way especially the fan base they have is very die hard and very passionate. So I can't wait for people to watch comes out August 20th. The whole season, the final season of Outer Banks comes out August 20th and the podcasts will play right and right after and you know I think watch. Oh I love that. It's gonna go right into the app podcast episodes. I believe it goes right into it. Now I might be saying something. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know like certain. This is why I've been so nervous saying things. I don't know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know what I kind of can't say. I mean regardless it'll be easy to find. It's like Netflix. I know. I know. And the podcasts are right there now. Yes, but I think it will roll kind of right into that. I think. Yeah. And I was gonna say something else about it and now I'm blanking. But yeah, very excited. I- oh what I was going to say was, if you don't watch Outer Banks then you could just watch the podcasts and support me and I'll love that. But I would watch the entire season of Outer Banks before if you are an Outer Banks watcher watch that entire season of Outer Banks before watching the podcast because there's obviously spoilers in it because it's the end of the show and we talk about everything. Yeah. So yeah. Yay. I'm so excited. I can't wait to watch. Thanks for all the support from you guys and all of our listeners who seemingly shared the same excitement that I had about it because they knew the law ran deep. Even if you didn't know the law. No, it's a good. It's well. Perfect full full circle moment. You're like, yeah, this makes sense. Yeah. Yeah. So that's why I was I was really excited. Yeah. Well congratulations we were all be watching and we're very excited to thank you and watch the last season. I'm jealous because I'm sure you you know there's an issue with saying this. You obviously had to watch it so that you can talk about it. So you've seen it. My lips are sealed, which I'm jealous about because I'm don't like the trailer looked so good. I'm so excited to see how it all ends and it's so funny because like you haven't even tried to tell me anything but I'm like no spoilers. And you're like, I haven't said one thing to you like I'm like, yeah, I'm not listening. You have a set of things. I've said a thing or hinted to a single thing. So that's also an added aspect. Can't wait to watch that too. I feel like a perfect way to kind of like fit wrap up summer a little bit. Yeah. And it's so crazy because thinking about how this show came up came out in 2020. Now it's 2026 almost going into 2027. Like it's been like it's been seven years. Yeah. And I just feel like we've grown up so much in this time. And that was kind of the theme of talking to them as well. Like they have grown up on the show, which is so crazy.
to think about. So yeah, I can't wait for people to watch and, you know, break, break out that old merch that old, you could, you could wear it again. You could wear it again. I was, I was going to say, should we, do we need to put the sign back up in the studio? We, we probably have to bring the sign back out in the studio. I think we, I would die for something. It's here. It's in here somewhere. It's under that pile. But yeah, we were, we were so mad. It is certain. Yeah. Look at a certain point in it in like a fit of like a stop in our feet. We're like, taking the sign down. Oh, my God. It's too funny. But I love that there are people out there, like chase or whoever that can laugh at those things makes it a whole lot better and also a whole lot better to be ourselves, you know, because I think this is a testament in being able to like be yourself, speak your mind, but then they'll, they'll still call because they remember when you were really such a big fan. Yeah. And that, that's still them. And there was no, like there was never any ill intent. No, no, that's why we were upset. Yeah. Yeah. Cause we were huge fans. Yeah. And still are. Never, never, never any ill intent. It was so funny. Like on the set, I was just talking about like, because they obviously knew I was a huge fan, which is why they asked. But then I started like diving a little bit deeper, being like, yeah, we like, you know, David, I was like, thank you for all the merch and COVID. I know they were like, what? And I was like, Oh, shit, maybe I, maybe, do I share too? Are we going to get sued? Yeah. I was like, Oh, fuck, like, you know, it's coming to an end. So they probably don't care about the merch now. Yeah. Yeah. The shirts are on them anymore. So we don't sell them anymore. Don't worry. But yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, shit. So go ahead, shop now and enjoy one less thing to think about. We are going to the Hillary Duff concert on Thursday, which I'm very excited about. So excited. Oh, I'm so excited. You're like, I'm so excited to see it in a bigger setting because I had seen her at the beginning of the year at in Brooklyn, which was a very small theater. The theater is awesome. So like now she's taking it to MSG, which is so cool, which I'm pumped about. It's going to be a lot of fun. I haven't seen it yet. So I'm so excited. I did order a bunch of stuff on Amazon. I was cracking up because like my family were on the same Amazon and Gia texted me and was like, what are you dressing up as Lizzie McGuire for? And I was like, I'm going to the Hillary Duff concert. So yeah, we do. I need to wear. What do I need to wear? Well, I'm just going like early 2000s. Like I got like a Lizzie McGuire t-shirt, maybe some butterfly clips, some little, like some little hair, like you could do you could wear like a very cute outfit and do like fun stuff with your hair, you know, I feel like I wanted to do like a little early 2000s. I was looking up on TikTok what people have been wearing. Some people are so fucking funny, like full costume, like either from the Lizzie McGuire movie. Should we go? I saw someone is about. It's too late. It's like what it's, you know, I wish if we know costume, we need a ride. Yeah, if we knew we were doing this week's go, we would have had the time to really put it together because I never want to have asked that. That, that look. But I saw people even dressed up as like Jennifer Coolidge's character in a Cinderella story. Like that was like so funny with the towel and the, the got like the suntan, the goggles and shit was cracking me up. But lots of good. Yeah. Lots of, lots of good inspo. But I just got excited. I was like, ooh, I want to be like, you know, maybe some like just early, little early 2000s moment. You're inspiring me. Well, I can't wait because you've been before. I haven't been. Yeah. And you, you talk so highly about the concert. No, it's so fine. It's just music that you, you know, you hear a song. You're like, oh, love this song. Mm hmm. Oh, I can't wait. Yep. Your hair looks fabulous. You got your hair done. It's really not that noticeable. I didn't do too much to it. A little bit more, a little red. Yeah. But it's like, it's that first. I haven't washed it yet. And it's actually like not, it's funny because I've gone back and forth where I would redo it. And it would be like really red. And I'd be like, oh, this is like really red. Mm hmm. But now I went and it's like not as red. And I like wish it was. Wish it was. So I've really gone back and forth. But I don't know, doing the roots. Sometimes I go and it's like when, when the, the woman who does my hair is the owner of the salon. And sometimes she's working on a couple of people in one time. Mm hmm. And when I was in the, getting my shampoo and the toner and everything, I was like, someone else was doing it. And I was like, I got a bad feeling. Oh, she just, she just didn't leave it on as normally as long as I normally do. So I felt like I had my roots were sort of way more red than the rest of my hair. But that's okay. It'll all blend in. And if I wash it, once I wash it a couple times, it all basically like becomes brown, becomes brown anyway. Thank you. I have, I have been liking keeping my hair long, which is funny because when I had my hair short, I was like, I'm never having long hair again. Like it's so much easier to have short hair. And then I wanted to grow it out for wedding stuff. I mean, now this was years ago. But since then I was like, ooh, I don't think I want to cut it short again. And I look back at it short. And I'm like, I really like that. So so keeping it this long, but really the key, like I love getting, I love getting my haircut. I know some people really and it's different, have different feelings about it. I have some friends that like having cut their hair in years. But I like every normally when I go on color, I do get a little trim just because I just, I love them when it feels healthy. You know, I feel like that's such a, you got to have hair cuts to keep it healthy. Absolutely. I think you could pull off both the short and long hair, but I love the way it is right now. Yeah. You know, because everyone when they cut their hair really short, they're like, why the fuck did I do that? Like a month or two later. And you know what I also think maybe would maybe would be different is because when I was finally actually trying to take care of myself a little bit more, be healthier, be in the gym, like, and that was all a lot of it was pre-wedding stuff. And I was also in the process of growing on my hair. So I'm like, oh, I think I've associated it all together. And I look back at when I had short hair. And I was like, man, I could have been doing more. So I don't know, maybe, if I cut it again, maybe that'd be different. I also, my hair was really light when I had it short. So I don't know what it would look like darker and shorter because I had real, I had like blonde highlights with really short hair. Then I kind of had like orange hair with short hair. When you, but when you first dyed your hair this color, you had it a little bit shorter with layers. And that was super cute. I remember the video you put out. Yes. It was kind of around this length. Honestly. You think so. I feel like it was a lot shorter. It was like that colony baby video right now. No, you're right. But I still think I love your hair right now. And I don't think you should change the thing. But I would support you if you wanted to cut it because you could go off. I do always kind of have an edge too. And not that my hair style says like, not that she's trying to get me to change it up or anything. But when I sit in the chair, she's like, we doing the use or something different. And like every time she says something different, I'm like, damn, I do something different. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't get crazy. Crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I also think if you're going to do something different, it has to be at the beginning of summer. For sure. Like going in the beginning of any season. Right. It's like beginning of summer, you know, you're going to get a nice golden tan. Yeah. You're going to do all these and you're going to have fresh hair. Yeah. Woo. Or you're going into like a fall reset. And it's like, yeah, I just cut my hair for chic fall. Like there's a, it's a different hairstyle for each season. For sure. It means a different thing. For sure. So, you know, but it's just that feminine itch to like change your hair that you get at you get every once in a while. Everybody, everybody relates. Everybody feels it where you look at here and you just look at yourself or you're sitting in the hair salon chair and you're like, am I about to do something really fucking drastic? Just they feel something like just to just to be different and feel something because I haven't done it in a while.
and I was like, ah, not just usual. I said maybe next time, maybe next time. - Yeah, yeah. Don't change anything up right now. Maybe for the fall. - Yeah, yeah, I was like, I gotta make it. It can't be a swear-of-the-moment decision. I mean, I can't be in the chair. - I'm in the chair. - A mid-August change. - No, mid-August change, it would have been like, are you okay? There's something else going on. - Exactly. - And you do need to talk about it. - A mid-August change is never good. - Yeah, like, is summer not going well? Like, let's talk. - It's like June and September are good. - Yeah. - Mid-August. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - I think, and I think every girl has it too, where you're walking to the, or however you're getting to your hair appointment, and you think. - Crippings. Should I do the Crippings? And I'm like, no, no, just, you're pushing it. You're pushing it. - Mm-hmm. - I don't need to, you don't need to change it up too much. So, yeah, yeah, but. - Well, it looks gorgeous. - Thanks. - There is so much drama at the Barsal offices going on. I have to say, like, I don't even know how to sum it up for our listeners who don't know what's going on. There's no way to sum it up. - There's no way to sum it up. - There's so much drama happening. - Yeah, yeah. And even if you, like, wanted to figure it out, I couldn't even point you in the right direction of where to do it. - And the biggest problem is, I think, like, everybody knows things, but doesn't want to be the one to blow up. - Yeah, no one should be the one to say it. - Somebody else's spot. - Yeah. - I have found myself in that mindset multiple times. - Yeah. - I'm like, oh, my God. If I was an asshole, I would just say everything. - And I think a lot of people feel that way. Like, nobody wants to be the one to be like. - Yeah, 'cause that's a change a bit too. - Right. - And it wasn't that way before. - No, and it's also just, like, I think a lot of people are like, why involve myself in something that I'm not involved in just because I do a juicy piece of information. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - It's like, but you also never know in this place, hearsay, gossip, rumors, what's accurate, what's just a rumor that's been trickled down for how many years that we're like, is that even true? - Yeah. - Yeah. - I think that's a lot of that's what's going on right now. - Yeah, we did find, it was eventually found, but the TLDR of this all is just, there's a lot of people hooking up in the Chicago office. It's been like that for a while, but perhaps some relationships or hookups were coming to light recently, and how it was maybe affecting other people's jobs or work or all these things. So a lot of drama over there. We were in the New York office, we have been sitting and listening to them, talk about it on the act all day long, this would have been Tuesday's episode of the act, 'cause they've been bringing people in and out, trying to get more details, but no one really wants to say anything, but everybody totally knows what's going on, but no one wants to be the one to be like, it's this person and this person. So everybody's dancing around it, and then we went and found the email that Erica, our old CEO, had sent in like 2017, that was like this whole long email, and then the last paragraph was like, you guys are living in New York City. There's X million amount of people here. Like go date outside of the office. - Which by the way is so funny, because that was at a time where I don't think any, like nobody knows, we know, but nobody knows who that email was about. - No, no, no, no. - No, no, no. - Yeah, 'cause we were not, it was not disgusted all during the time, but that wasn't like a public thing. - No, it wasn't, 'cause it was also like, it was all behind the scenes people. - Right. - And so I think that's also a funny thing, is like people probably saw that email and probably like public you now saw that email and didn't know it was from 2017, and probably thought it was about me. - Yeah. - And that was not then, that was 2017. - No, this was 2017, it was about totally different group of people. - And it was from about like not content people, just like literally everybody in the office was talking about with each other. It was just like, I don't know. It was just one, it's, so it's crazy. And it's like, it's not that far off, I think for a lot of workplaces, it is something that happens. And there's always like workplace office romance drama, but when it comes to, - Office romance, office romance. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. When it comes to the barsel stuff, at least recently it feels that there's been a real tangled web with some of these people. And then there's, there's just way more people involved. You know, it's not just like two people are hooking up. And no, it's like these two people are hooking up, but it's affecting this person, this person, this person, they were hooking up with that person before, this person before, it's just like, a way more tangled web to try and follow. And I'm just saying in my desk, listening to everybody talk, and I feel like, you know, Gaz is tweeting that he's old, he's out of the mix and not knowing what's going on. And I'm like, me too, am I jaws on the floor? I'm listening to the young girls that we got around us. I mean, I say young girls, you know, not much older than them, but I'm listening, I'm like, my God, there's so much going on that I don't even know about. - I know, it really is crazy. And I sit back, I'm like, God. - I know. - Remember the days when. - Seriously. - I don't think these people in Chicago even know. - No, they don't even get. - They don't even get. - Like with me. Like they don't get, like I'm like, or you know, not just me, but it was multiple people involved. But I'm like, they don't even, you know, Tom Brady was in this. Tom Brady was tweeting. I'm like, yet they're all scrambling over there because they're being called onto the yak. I'm like, remember the days of the day, the Porta Roy show? - Yeah. - Come on. - Yep. - But I mean to be fair, like I obviously understand what it's like when your personal relationships, everybody's talking about them. - Yeah. - And, you know, so my best advice would be, you know, if you really love somebody, you really love somebody. And that's really, that's really it. But I don't know if that's, I don't know if that's what's happening. - No, it certainly doesn't seem so because the two people that we thought were dating, just like got on and we're like, we're not dating. So, right. So I don't even think, I don't even think they're dating. - Yeah. And even if they are like texting on the side being like, hey, like let's not admit to date, it's all so confusing. Really, really, and it's funny because this involves Austin who was Dave's, you know, right hand man. So Dave is in the mix of it all too. And he's trying to figure out what's going on because Dave's like, I'm lost. Like this is all happening. He had no idea. And that is another added wrinkle into this because when Austin is involved, everyone else kind of assumes that it could affect them or if Austin feels some type of way about you, it could affect them at work because Dave and Austin are so close and Dave does ask Austin for, you know, what's going on? What does this mean? What's that? And that could have some sort of effect. You never know. And so it's all, it's all pretty crazy. We also was just on out and about with Kelly and Pat. And he just like fully said he had a girlfriend. Yeah, he said he had a girlfriend. So now to say that they're not dating. Well, which is why it's crazy because I said outside I go, so does he have like another girlfriend? Like is the girlfriend another woman? Like I don't know. I texted Kelly yesterday and I was like, so because Kelly knows Kelly knows everything Kelly knows everything. Yep. And I texted Kelly and I was like, so was Austin caught with Hannah, but he has another girlfriend because he said on out and about that he has a girlfriend and she goes, no, I think the girlfriend is Hannah. And I was like, wait, what? Right. And now they're both saying like they're not dating. I think that they just haven't put a label on it, but he was probably like technically I have a girlfriend, but they haven't put a label on it. I don't freaking know. Somebody's got to stand up there for true love, though. You know what I mean? Well, that's the thing. If you look back, you realize you guys did and then it all worked out, but we stood up for true love. You did and it worked out and you know, I'm going to put myself really take a risk here and say, I don't think this is true. I don't know if this one's true love, but we can see maybe they really do. I don't know, you know, but man, they're, yeah, it's I can't judge anybody for hooking up with anybody at the office. Obviously, I would never judge that. That is now what I'm judging at all. And that's not where it's coming from anybody because I think everybody acknowledges people hook up. Right. And that's yeah, like I said, perfectly fine. In my book, because, you know, but like Kelly said, on the yak and I stand with this. I don't think you could be throwing stones from a glass house. And I think often people do that. And I remember at the time when everything came out about me, Kelly got online and defended me and was like, all these people with skeletons in their closet better shut the fuck up. And, you know, yeah. I didn't, we didn't say anything about anybody because there's no reason to drag other people into it. But oftentimes people will open their mouth when they shouldn't. because let's not forget.
that everybody knows everything. - Yeah, and that's just a nice reminder. And that's what Kelly's trying to get across there. That, you know, if you're gonna open your mouth, sometimes you gotta be reminded that we know some shit. - Absolutely. - So yeah. - You know, it's a little summer drama. - Spice things up up there. - You know what's, it is funny. It's like, it's been passed on to Chicago. - Yeah, yeah. - You know, like they gotta deal with, that's not really happening in New York anymore. But it's also because there's a lot of younger people working in that office now. And it's easy to when you're in a city where like I'm sure a lot of them move to or maybe they're hanging out with the people in the office 'cause it's obviously it's a workplace but a lot of it is fun and you create personal friendships and relationships. - Yeah. - You know? - Absolutely. - So. - Absolutely. - Just speaking from, you know, my experience, like, not going, starting to work at Barcelona, 19 is basically like my, like, I wasn't at college with, you know, a bunch of friends and whatnot and then it becomes like, oh, making a lot of friends here, which I have made some of my best friendships at work too. So, it's not your normal workplace. - No, no, definitely not. - No, definitely not. All right, let's get into today's show. We got some topics and we got the pop corner. We're gonna be talking about Bradley Cooper and GGD to potentially married. Seems like they're sporting some rings on their finger. Ariana Grande addresses the story that she's taking a step back from visibility at her Chicago show. Pete Davidson's seen with a Nader sister, Sarah J. Nader. Jack's Taylor fake ad got duped, we must discuss it. And Barbie sequel was in the works, but it seems like it's not taken off due to salaries not being paid and we have the pop corner. So let's get into it. Gosh, I just couldn't get enough of the outshine fruit bars this past weekend at Palm Springs. It was hot, hot, hot. We're talking 120 degrees at certain points. But what did I do? I turned to our freezer that was stock with outshine fruit bars. We had pineapple and watermelon, two different flavors. And oh my God, I enjoyed them so much. After every time coming back from being outside, I was like, I need to have an outshine fruit bar. They were there waiting for me. It's the number one fruit frozen fruit bar brand in America. They have fruit bars and many fruit pops and they're made with real fruit or juice and simple ingredients that you can pronounce. Every bite tastes like biting into a piece of ripe fruits, juicy, refreshing, it's bursting with flavor. And it's a bright and vibrant experience that brings a moment of joy in every bar. And I have to say, I was smiling ear to ear just out loud being like, this is so amazing. Every time I had an outshine fruit bar, it's a good source of vitamin C. There's no GMO ingredients, no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial colors or flavors. And the flavor lineup is stacked. I already talked about the pineapple and watermelon, but they're strawberry, mango, coconut, cherry. You name it, there's something for whatever you're craving. There's also fruit blends. That's where all multiple flavors together. So you're getting the best of both worlds. And outshine makes it easy to experience the joy of fruit. Right now, if you're not having them, you're missing out 'cause we're eating them all summer long. Find out, find out, find outshine fruit bars at Retailers Nationwide. So these pictures came out of Bradley Cooper and GD Hadid. And they're both sporting nice little what seems like wedding bands on their ring finger. And to me, it could only mean one thing. These two got hitched, they got married because I feel like sometimes you'll see a woman wearing a ring on that finger or multiple fingers and it could just be that she's wearing a ring. Yeah. But Bradley Cooper, who does not wear rings on any other finger, rocking a gold band on his ring finger. I'm like, that man is taken, he is married, they locked it up. And they're like doing pap walks, being like, we're married. That's the vibe I'm getting from these pictures. You know what, it's just like so weird to me though. What this is like, if you're gonna do the whole pap walk with the rings and have people speculate, you know what you're doing. Just have your publicist be like, we got married in an intimate backyard setting and it was a beautiful moment and that's that. You know, like it's like, this whole, I just think it's kind of funny when, if you really wanted to keep it a secret and didn't want people to know, you wouldn't wear the ring. I know that that's part of being met. It's like, oh, we're married. They want to wear the rings out if they're married. But everyone's gonna be like, you're married. So, so just be like, we're married. It's just, it's just, it's such a seamless solve instead of keeping it so vague. It would be hilarious if these were like promise rings. Yes, that would be hilarious at that thrown age. I mean, I guess I'm not gonna judge because I think people do that and it's very nice if you don't want to actually get married and you make that commitment to each other. But I feel as if maybe they did this to cause speculation and then the article can come out where it's like, okay, we see the pictures of them walking with their bands. Let's cause speculation. Then our publicists can then put out an article and be like, confirm Bradley Cooper and GDD did get married and intimate wedding with their closest friends and family or they went to the fucking courthouse or whatever they did. Right, page six wrote, cause they were photographed to Paris spotting shiny new jewelry. Page six wrote all GG and Bradley's reps haven't confirmed, or they haven't comments on the rumors that they're officially hitched. Page six styles, excuse me, exclusively learned that Cooper and his deeds new rings are Boucheran wedding bands. Gorgeous. It says, the supermodel 31 is wearing the French jewelers Quatre Radiant Edition wedding band, a $6,450 yellow gold cross-screen ring accented by a delicate line of diamonds. Per the website, it's worn as a style. It's worn as a declaration of love but also of style. And then it says that Bradley opted for the the Godren pink gold wedding band, a distinctive double band design. Like GG's ring, it's available both yellow and pink gold as well as a platinum. The website's rights expressing attorney through its rounded shape. The Godren wedding band motif evokes the strength of love that binds two people together, describing it as a sparkling wedding band an internal symbol of the union between husband and wife. I mean that's just what a wedding band is, that's just what. It's just a definition of a wedding band. However, they are just saying that, they are just saying that these are the exact rings that they are wearing. Right. Therefore you would think that they are married. I'm going to go on record and say that I believe that they are because I don't think these two are walking around with these rings on their figures if they're not married. It seems like they have a nice relationship. And if that's the case, I am happy for them. And maybe we'll find out more, but I think that was their way of telling the world. I think they're like, we're going to do a little path walk. People are going to capture us. We're going to be smiling here to ear. We got our gold wedding bands on and there you go. Yeah. To me, it's just like, what's more annoying? And I know I kind of fell with, that fell this way with the Tom and Zendaya stuff too. It's just like, I understand the privacy and all those things. But if you're going to be out and about what the rings, everyone's going to be speculating. And I think it would be, it would solve, but it would be just so quick to be like, we got married. Yeah, but I think Gigi and Bradley are so less in the press than Tom and Zendaya that they would be like this, this kind of makes sense to me that they're doing a little path walk, people speculate, and then there will be an article that says, hey, we got married. Whereas Tom and Zendaya were just on every red carpet and or every interview promoting all these movies. And now, now Tom is always referring to Zendaya's wife and confirming that they did get married. But I think very different situations. Like Bradley and Gigi aren't doing a lot of press. I think that just has to do a timing though. You know, like, I don't think, yeah. Like Tom and Zendaya wouldn't have been doing that if they weren't promoting all these movies. Like Gigi, but at the same time. And Bradley Cooper had a movie that came out tomorrow. He would also be getting these questions. Yeah, but you were defending Tom and Zendaya, but now with Gigi and Brad, you're like, they got to say it. With Tom and Zendaya, you were like, it's okay. They don't want to talk about it. No, Gigi and Brad, you're like, do you need to say it? I do remember saying that. And now I feel like the way that Tom and Zendaya have now just started talking about it. It's like you probably could have saved a lot of this, but just being like, we got married. Yeah, now they're so like, Tom's like my wife, which I love. Yeah, yeah, he's like so proud that she's his wife, which is so cute. Yeah, but yeah, I could see probably like an article being coming out, being like, yeah, confirmed. Right, right. They're married because they're setting it on their own time because they know as soon as they step out being photographed in the rings, people are going to ask about it. So it's smiling ear to ear. They look happy as can be. Yeah, yeah. I'll be honest. I do at the beginning of this relationship, I did not think marriage. Like I did not think that that was the end game for these two. I don't know. I mean, yeah, because I think the age difference, but now I feel like they're like, it's been going on for so long. And I feel like they both have kids. And no, it's been, it's been three years. He was, did he ever marry arena or they were just together? I don't think they were married, right? - I don't.
- I don't believe that they were. - She's with Devin Booker now, right? - Yeah, she's with Devin Booker. - Yeah, they have been. - I don't think that they were. - It doesn't look like it. - No, no, no, they were just dating, started dating in 2015, daughter was born in 2017 and then they split in 2019. - Yes, yes. - Wait, she was with Ronaldo, I didn't know that. - Oh yeah. - I think she's dated some of the most famous people in the world. - Five years before Bradley. - That damn lady Gaga Bradley Cooper mixed up. - Yeah. (laughs) - Oh, she got engaged to Ronaldo. Flute in New York on Valentine's Day. He proposed to her. - Oh. Big romantic gesture. - Wow. - Yeah. - Yeah, she has been seen out with Devin Booker quite a few times lately. So that's probably a new relationship that's happening, no, that doesn't surprise me. - Yeah, that's a little age gap. - As well. - What is the age gap? - Devin Booker. - Yeah, Devin is 29. - Well, she's a bit older. - She's. - 40. - She's 40 and he's 29. - Nothing. - That's basically nothing compared to what we're usually talking. - Yeah, seriously. - 11's a big gap for anyone. - It's like Nick Jonas. - I'm in compare to 2025. - But people always talk about like, oh, Beyonce and Jay-Z, they have like a 12 year I think and it's like, that's a sizable gap. - Well, I think. - Not crazy. - I think just. - I think it's also because of when you start dating. - I think it's also because of when they started dating. Like Jay-Z started dating Beyonce when she was what, 19 years old. - She was like really young. - And Arena and Devin dating when she's 40 and he's 29. Those are two consenting adults. - Yeah. - Yeah. - And it's very close to it. - Beyonce's consenting. - Beyonce, Beyonce wasn't consenting, but she was young. - She was young, yes. Yeah. - Nick and Priyanka are 10 years I think. - Yeah, I think so. - So, Paulson. - I am always absolutely disgusting when I see people on jet skis in the Hudson River. I mean, my God, these people are practically swimming in the water right now. They're stalled. They're stalled in the Hudson. - Is it, it's hitch. - But they're literally in the Hudson, like not moving, like basically swimming in the water. It's grotesque. - Have you seen people on the beast, the boat? - Yes. - My friends were saying that they wanted to do it. And I was like, I saw a takeout of some girls on it. And like, while yes, it looked fun. They're just getting drenched in the Hudson River water. And at one point, the girls' mouth was wide open. Water was going in term out. I'm going, uh, that is disgusting. - No. - I can't believe this group that I'm watching right now, get off their jet skis and get into the water - If they saw the video that I saw from like, I think it was maybe last month. There was some sort of leak situation from, uh, like a trash facility. At the, at the more north on the Hudson River. And it was just drop in toxic waste into the Hudson River. It was disgusting. - Oh God, they got poop mouth. - That's, it's, - All of them got poop mouth. - No, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. - Anyways, anyways, moving on. So Ariana Grande has been on tour right now and she released a new album and new music video for a pedal. - Yeah. - And now this music video came out and people watched it and including us. And we're like, she does not look well. Like, there's no other way around it. And we hate talking about other people's bodies. Hate it, we've talked about it with ourselves. Obviously, there's never a right way to go about it ever. But when it comes to this specific case, I think there's just a lot of worry. - Yeah. - Like, it's not in a way that's like talking like, it's not like everyone's like, Ariana Grande looks bad or whatever. It's like, there is genuine concern. - Yeah. - And I think that is very valid. - Yeah. - Seeing what we're seeing. - Definitely. And I know that her team put out a statement and the word scrutiny has been used. And while yes, I don't see every corner of the internet and people, everyone's commentary is, it can be crazy and the commentary on people's bodies can become out of control. And yes, like you said, we certainly never want to be adding to that narrative or doing anything like that because on the other side of it, when it happens to us, it's the worst. You hate it, it gets it. But because there's just like a situation where because she is such a talent and such a icon and such a role model to so many people and so many young girls and women that it feels crazy to not acknowledge that something feels not right. And that seems to be the case from what we are seeing. And I know that there's so many people that have chimed into this conversation and they're a TikTok and it's been going on for a while. And we've kind of stayed away from bringing it up on the show 'cause these conversations have been going on for a couple of months now, if not longer, probably longer realistically. But it's gotten to the point where her team put out this statement and she's taking a break from the public life and the statement is a little bit of a different tune than what she said herself on stage at her show in Chicago. But the statement said, Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the internal sunshine tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note both healthily and happily and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances which has led to endless ongoing public scrutiny. This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour. A source close to Grande tells people of the singer she performs a very physical show and there's a lot of athleticism involved. She performs healthily and successfully at a very high-level night after night. And she will not be appearing in Sunday in the park with George that she was gonna be doing next summer with Jonathan Bailey that she will be stepping away from that project. I am a little surprised by the wording of this statement, I'm not gonna lie. I think that when you see this happen, you think like, well, who in her orbit is helping? Is anyone helping? Is there a enabling behavior going on? What is happening? And I think the statement of like really trying to hit home that she's performing every night healthily. Just, it's hard to believe because at the same time, you're like, oh, she's taking a step back. But she's had this, she's had this play announce for a while that she was gonna do this, you know. So then Ariana won on stage and she kind of said that like two things gonna be true and she was always planning on stepping away after this time, which I do remember her saying like during wicked press that like she was gonna do this tour and then afterwards as she needed a break. Like I remember her kind of saying that. But at the same time, I don't know if that, if she would have signed on to do that project if this was like always the full plan of taking this long of a break and whatever. I feel like we're just sort of getting half truths here and there and not really like the full explanation what is going on. I am hoping that whatever is happening behind the scenes for her during this break is her taking care of herself and hopefully getting whatever help she needs in doing that. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, the whole conversation is extremely sad and there are so many people out there, men and women who deal with eating disorders. And I think that right now, you know, you can't 100% say this is what's happening with her. But that is the speculation. Then there are, which is so sad and it's a very, very serious thing. But there's also people being like what if she is sick? What if she's dealing with something that we don't know about? And these are all things that are being brought to the surface and lots of concern. And I think that's why people kind of want answers because they're like we're seeing her get on stage every night and her fans and people who love her and everybody else are just genuinely concerned. Like everybody just wants the best for her. It is sad, you know, seeing going back to, I've seen a lot of her, you know, die hearts talk about this that there was a period of time where she was being
called Fat, and they were making up nicknames for her. And obviously absurd, and we've talked about this a bunch. - Yeah, yeah. - And how much that can affect somebody who's getting on stage in front of a crowd every single night. - You still hear it in her lyrics, still. And like the whole point of the music video, she just put out like, there's a moment in the pedal music video that it's like the notes, and it's like, you know, notes were in down, and part of it says like, you know, needs to lose, to lose some pounds or something. - Yeah, I could afford to lose some pounds. - Yeah, yeah. - Which is so terrible, and it was an inside look into probably everything she's dealt with behind the scenes, but at the same time having that note with the visual of what she looks like. - Yeah, it's dark. - I think people are like, it sends a message to like, you know, I see this conversation of people who are very healthy, being like, do I need to like, is that what I should be looking like? So there's just so much conversation about it, and it's a very serious thing. And it's very sad, and there's obviously, you know, I even saw KJAPA talk about this recently, that he was dealing with a lot of this on the set of Riverdale. And it is a problem amongst men and women everywhere. And it's very sad and very serious. And so I just feel great concern, honestly. And I feel very sad. And scrutiny is a different way to put it. And I'm sure there are people who are being fucked up and mean about this, rather than being concerned, because people just go to being mean instead of being like, I just feel bad. And that part of it is just very, very upsetting as well. So I really just hope the best for her. And I hope that if there is something going on, which it seems like there is, that the necessary steps are taken. - Yeah, 'cause I can't, I refuse to believe, and this may sound messed up that this is healthy. Like, you know what I'm saying, that does not add up to me. It doesn't add up to me, and I will not believe that. - Yeah, yeah, I think that's super fair. It also seems like perhaps they're not all on the same page behind the scenes, right? 'Cause I think if Ariana's team is putting out a statement like that, in the afternoon, that's like a from her rep to all major media outlets. And then she gets on stage a mere hours later, and is like, or what it was maybe, it was the day after. So a day later, saying that the announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing. It's something that I had decided to plan quietly a long time ago. It's very different from what it felt like the message of the from the rep was that was like, because of all this discourse right now, she is stepping away. Like that's how that came across. And I don't know, I don't know if that was deliberate from her team's point to try and put blame on the people speaking about her, you know? Like this is your fault that she's doing this. - Instead of kind of feel that way. - Right, instead of like how Ariana is trying to say it to a state, you know, an arena of her fans of like, I've been planning this already. This is not a reactive, impulsive thing. Like I have loved being in these rooms with you and doing these shows and all these things, which I think is fair. And she said no matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or bring more real to me or not as real to me as this love that we share. Like I imagine there is such a battle for her right now of what's going on behind the scenes and like truly enjoying doing these shows and seeing her fans and putting out new music and enjoying those things, but at the same time, clearly there are other issues at play. - So she's such an incredibly talented, once in a lifetime generational talent. And I think everybody just wants the best for her and how could you not? I mean, she's also been through so much and I'm just hoping, I'm just really hoping, for the best for her. And I hope whatever is going on behind the scenes is her taking care of herself going forward and after this tour. - Yeah. - This podcast is brought to you by No Bull. No Bull is Barswell's favorite footwear brand and at the end of the day, just a bunch of No Bull Shit people working hard to get better. Moving on, just a quick little tidbit here. Pete Davidson, the man can't be stopped. He was seen with Sarah Jane Nader. Yes, she is the youngest of the Nader sisters. They were out in Brooklyn. Now, someone, TMZ did write that they are just friends. Someone from Pete's side and someone from Pete's side and someone from Sarah Jane side. Margarabi also said that in the industry. But just said that they are just friends. It was, let me see if I can find it. Real, like. Oh, Mary God, can't have friends. (laughs) - It's a quote. - It's a wolf-a-law streak quote. - Oh, I got what you're saying. - Okay, yes. So TMZ had originally ran with headline, major first-date energy, cozy private dinner for two. A source familiar with the state's situation tells TMZ that Pete took Sarah to dinner Monday night at Campanian, Brooklyn. They were told the pair quietly slipped inside through the kitchen. Pete picked up the bill and the two spent a couple of hours dining in a private room away from the other customers. We're told Pete and Sarah were all over each other throughout the meal and appeared extremely comfortable together. Our source to say the outing gave off major first-day energy and the two looked happy and seemed to head it off. Now, however, the 10 AM update that came today was a source with direct knowledge tells us the two are just friends. So it's like funny, it's like that whole article is written, but like the update is at the top that just says, a source with direct knowledge tells us the two are just friends. - Well, they could be friends that are going to dinner and banging, you know what I mean? - Certainly good. - It doesn't have to mean that they are automatically dating now. - Yeah, certainly good. - I don't know. I mean, if you're going to dinner in a private room. - Yeah. - I don't know if friends do that very often. - I put you on that. What do you want that, and I think that this is just the first of many that we'll see date one of the native sisters. You know, it's just line them up because everybody is good. They're at this point, like those girls could date whoever they wanted, truly. - They're also stunning and funny. - Yeah. - And like, so I mean, we're also, it's not like a big shocking thing that Hawk Girls out of Pete Davidson at this point. - Right, exactly. - It's kind of just like par for the course. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Okay. Apparently, him and his baby Mama Elsie reached a settlement about the co-parenting. - That's good. - So maybe he went through a celebratory dinner with Sarah Jane. Jane. Celebrate the couple's agreement and co-parenting. - Yes, yes, definitely. - He said, "I don't got the baby tonight. Let's go to dinner." - Yeah, yeah. - So, moving on, Jack's Taylor. This is just a hilarious, hysterical story. This is hysterical. Jack's Taylor received a fake invitation to promote smart water, in which he went through all the final steps to make a video with smart water. Go to it on his Instagram. Do hashtag @adsmartwater. The whole shabang. Just to find out, this was not a real ad. This was not a real promotional invite from smart water. And they had, they were like, "We did not do this." - Yeah. - This is an unreal story. And really, I feel like the lengths that people go to at the moment.
at this point are pretty insane. Like who kind of felt like Jacks was implying that Brittany set him up for this. I couldn't quite get a full read on the whole thing, but he posted a whole statement on Instagram, and I said a few weeks ago I accepted, but I believed was a legitimate campaign opportunity through a third party influencer platform like many creators use. I received the offer, emails, creative brief, and deliverables. I trusted a platform that turns out not to be legitimate. He continued, as soon as I was notified that the campaign was unauthorized, I removed the content immediately. I've never and would never intentionally miss, miss represent a partnership. What's been most upsetting is seeing an honest birthday become pure entertainment in an attempt to humiliate me, because I guess Brittany had spoke about it on the podcast. Regardless of where we stand personally, we're still the parents of a young child, and there should be a certain level of respect. Let me just say that I don't think Brittany came up with this, but if she did, that is a level of genius that needs to be applauded, setting up your ex with a fake ad to humiliate him. - Does she have a state and smart water? - No, I don't think Brittany came up with this, but if she did, I have to applaud her, because that is some prank to pull on your ex. - Right. - Wow. It also appears that the platform that he was sent was either called videoforce.ai, or he rendered something himself. But if you're getting a campaign invitation, and you have to click on a link that's videoforce.ai, I might be questioning the legitimacy of that platform. - And then I have to ask myself, what kind of PR person is Lori that he's dating? That let him do this. - Right, right. - That's the best one out here. - And even naming Brittany in his whole statement feels like fairly unnecessary. 'Cause it's like, 'cause people online were talking about it, 'cause then he deleted the ad. Because the smart water in DM Brittany was like, "We didn't do this." - Yeah, the smart water was like, "We need to make sure our name is not attached to Zendaya and Jax Taylor." - Yeah, some of these comments are, it goes, "So Jax Taylor thought "we were all gonna believe that smart water "who's current brand ambassador is Zendaya." - Would hire him to do an ad. - It's so perfectly Jax Taylor. - Oh, there's pictures of that Drake meme. Where are the Drake and Jax meme, where it's like Megan, but it's just Brittany. - Yeah, Brittany. (laughing) Too fricking good. While we're on the topic of these people, I did start watching House of Stasi and I'm pretty deep into it. And man, do I have a lot of thoughts? I don't know at what cost you go on to be like, "This is just who I am without changing some of it." Like, yes, you should absolutely own who you are and be honest and upfront. But then on the other side of that, there are things that we need to change as human beings when they're not good, you know? Like, it's almost like when someone's like, "I'm just brutally honest." It's like, well, can you be nicely honest? You have to be, do you have to be a dick? Like, it's just, I understand where Stasi is coming from with wanting to make a great TV show. My problem with it is, I like the breaking of the fourth wall. I don't like the breaking of the fourth wall for every single scene. Because it feels like a reality show about making a reality show. Like, it's just about the making of a reality show while making a reality show. It's almost too much to me where I like the breaking of the fourth wall, but I feel like we could have done a little bit less of that. 'Cause I don't know how sustainable it is season after season to be like, "We're making a reality show." Let's talk about making a reality show the entire time. I think you should absolutely let the viewer in on some things. And I think that's a great aspect of it. I think letting the viewer in on inside discussion is great. But I like to kind of see things play out also and it just felt like so much of it was that. And then on the other side of that, like the mention of Chris Jenner and every episode didn't need to happen. We get it. That was really frustrating to me. You want to be Chris Jenner. That's great. I don't think that we need it every single episode to be said multiple times. I'm like, this is just repetitive. And then also, love when somebody owns who they are. That's an amazing thing. But then at what cost, like when you're being extremely rude, do you go, I should probably maybe change this a lit. In some situations, I may be wrong and I may be need to be like a little bit less like that. Some of it, I'm just like, that's just plain old root. And you should be who you are, but we're also human beings that should be able to change. I'm grappling with that a bit. - Yeah, that's fair. I will say, I actually think I'd like it because you can't really half-ass break the fourth wall in a way that isn't gonna make you questioning every scene moving forward. Like, I don't think that they, like I don't think Stas could be joking being like, "Ah, we need Katie back, you know, "like to make a good show." And then not acknowledge like, perhaps they are stirring the pot with Katie for those reasons or they're looking to make good TV all these things. It is weird, it's weird to watch 'cause we never watched it before. But I think it is continually brought up because if it wasn't us as viewers would all be watching being like, they're all, they're faking this shit anyway. You know, it's like, we'd be like, "Oh, they're just trying to cause shit for drama "when in reality they are trying to cause shit for drama "and saying they're trying to cause shit for drama." - Yes, absolutely. I just felt like it could have been a little bit like, we got the, I felt like we understood the point. - Yeah, and then I didn't need to be explained in every single scene. It just, from what I've been watching, it just felt like it was brought up in every scene. And I'm like, I don't think we need to address it in every single scene of the show. - Yeah, I like it, but I think less was my point of view. Also, I'm like, I thought Katie brought up some valid points about them being like, "Med that she's on the show, "but then they're on the show." And I'm like, what, you're all on it for this reason? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I don't know. I'm still trying to decide how I, I'm obviously watching all of it so clearly they got me in and I'm talking about it. And that's exactly what the purpose of it is. I just don't know at what cost of like your relationship that you wanna be in forever as well that you acknowledge, but then you also, I think both of them have things that they are need to acknowledge that they're doing. Stasi and Bo, I don't think it just falls on one person, obviously, but I'm like, I think it was Christina Kelly, it was like, you don't kiss him anymore. Like, it takes two set and she's like, no. And I'm like, she's like, I have to write it in my notes to do that. I'm like, that is insane. That's an insane thing. You have to remind yourself to kiss your husband. Like, that's not good, that's bad. And I don't know, I'm going back and forth and loving people who own who they are, but on the other side of that, it's okay to, you don't have to change the core of who you are, but you can change certain, maybe I need to do this or do that, I don't know. Their family, her sister was frustrating me as well. And I'm like, you know, on that side of it, I'm like, yeah, Stasi's taking care of you and you seem pretty ungrateful. Yeah, I'd be pretty frustrated too, I think. Yeah, yeah, from Stasi's end. Right, so I'm not saying that I disagree with every single thing Stasi did or said on the show. That's not what is being said. It's more just like some of it. I'm like, I feel like we can hit, like heal it back a little bit. Like, you know, some of it just is, you know, I explained it enough, that's how I feel about it. Super fair. I would like to say though, I do.
love to see how hard of a worker she is and how much she is trying to get stuff off the ground and like putting her all into that. I think it's amazing to see I love seeing women fulfill their dreams and like really go for it and be like I'm saying yes to everything and I'm taking on every opportunity and I'm crushing it here here here everywhere. I love that aspect of it. I think it's more like a lot of the personal stuff. I can't wrap my head around. No definitely but I think there is some realness into showing like when you are so dedicated that it is something maybe lacking. It's very hard to be 100% in everything and she knows that which is which I do appreciate her acknowledging it's like I am like so gung ho on my job right now that like there is aspects of being a wife of being a mother that I could be better at and I know that. Right. I remember an interview recently that I saw and I forget who it was but she was like a marriage specialist or something. It's just talking about like how we love or maybe it was there. I've seen it a couple times. Marriage, marriage like expert expert I put in quotes and maybe it was like Emmy Rossum who was she was recently on Color Daddy and I want to say talking about it too where it's just like the idea of wanting and wanting to have it all and like being the perfect mother, wife, professional like all these things. It's just it's very hard to do at one time and like that is not talked about as much as like encouraging and everyone should because you should be able to do it all but it is very very hard to be amazing in all aspects. Yeah it is incredibly hard and I think that she does show that and I do like that aspect of it. I think it's maybe just her attitudes or something. I'm like I don't love that. No I mean look her offering to pay bow the amount of money that he would make if he went back to his job is like extremely insulting. Right it's like I just think like I think this is a crazy thing to say to your spouse who clearly just wants like to do something for himself. Yeah exactly. There's just some little things where I'm just like and then the like I said the breaking of the fourth wall too much. But all right moving on last topic. Barbie sequel was in the works but it doesn't seem like it's moving forward because they do not want to pay Margarabi and Ryan Gosling which is insane because this movie did so extremely well. It was a box office hit. They want awards for it or I mean Ryan Gosling won awards which is so like ironic considering the message of the movie and then Ryan Gosling's the one who ends up winning the award for it but moving on. They don't want to pay them. Yeah Warner Brothers has until December to reach a deal with the stars the film as well as Greta Gerwig before the rights revered back to Mattel. The studio has been negotiating with the principal town for months offering them a share of the profits. If the film reaches certain box office milestones the outlet also claims that Warner Brothers Discovery CEO David Zazov declined to approve the proposed deal because he believed it was quote to generous. The Times on to report that a Warner Brothers spokesperson disputed that characterization saying talent representative representative decline in offer made in May and have not yet submitted a counter offer. So it's really gone back and forth. We don't really know like they have just have not been able to reach an agreement on that number. Barbie gross $1.5 billion worldwide which you know is a massive, massive number and the rumors are that I guess maybe some of the talent wants like in the tens of millions. I mean considering Ryan Gosling wants $20 million to play Ken again. Considering how much money that movie made. Yeah. I can see their argument of like we deserve more money. When you start throwing numbers out about how much these actors make though you go oh my god but you know putting that conversation to a side. I just focus like if I'm a executive sitting in a room right now like or if I'm Ryan Gosling or Morgan Robbie sitting in a room right now I'd be like well this movie made X amount. So I deserve this much amount for the next one if you're going to be making this much money off of it. Right. You know you're making that much money off me. I deserve more money. Yet $20 million is the reported rumor for Ryan and what unsure about Margo and Greta but it was probably up there too. And honestly sorry like if Ryan Gosling is making $20 to play Ken like Marga Robbie deserves the same if not more. So that's like you know. She's Barbie. She's Barbie. She's Barbie. She's Barbie is Barbie. So this article says if a deal is reached New York Times reports that it will take years for Barbie 2 to hit theaters though apparently Greta Gerwig and no bomb I'll have made it clear negotiations that they have a story they want to tell and are ready to begin writing that said they reportedly won't tell the studio what the idea is or begin writing until after contracts are signed which fair you know why would you start writing if the contracts are insigned or tell them what your ideas were the contracts are signed but the clock's ticking. So sounds like if they don't figure it out in a couple of months then it maybe just doesn't happen which like maybe isn't the worst thing in the world either because you know Barbie is great. I Barbie was a great movie. Is it one where I'm like holy shit that movie needs a sequel probably not. No I think it could be a great standalone movie. I think it was awesome and amazing and sometimes we don't need a sequel. Yeah and I would take one right and they all want like the studio obviously is going to want one because it's going to make a shit ton of money again and I think Greta's fantastic so she like I think whatever I did they have would be good and make sense and be cohesive. It's just like it's so crazy to that if we're dealing with a movie that had originally made one and a half billion dollars that were and I know these you know they're big they're big asks for these big stars but like I don't really know why why you wouldn't sign on that but these these studio execs I guess they got to draw the line somewhere yeah it doesn't make sense though when you find out how much they're making so yeah yeah yeah so we'll see good but the clock is ticking and it doesn't feel super promising. All right let's get into the popcorn or we're taking your hot takes or voicemails your opinions let's get into it. Hi Rufan and Noah this is the Adrian from Leicester County. I just left another wait now but I broke character in third laughing. Anyway my hot take isn't pop culture related and it is that listening to an audio bus does not count as reading me my boyfriend always kind of getting to this to be because we've thought about doing our own personal book club but he listens to audio books and I actually read books I don't think it's the same thing let me know if you're agree or not and go bird's friend go birds I love as you said I actually read them I do like understand the fundamental aspect of this of like if you are listening to something you are not reading you know but like you are still consuming the book so when it comes to like doing a book club you still got you still retained all the information to talk about the book like so I think like you can consume the book however you choose audio book or not like that shouldn't be like a requirement for a book club it's like you can you can consume the book however you want but you you are not reading you could be doing stuff you could be clean like you're not fully like yes right when you are reading a book physically you're not doing anything else you are literally just reading the book yes I think
though on the point of a book club, you can absolutely listen to it for sure on audio and still have the discussion. I think you should let him do the book club with you because I think he's still consuming the book. And we should just be grateful for that as a whole. Like the fact that he's even listening to the book. Yeah. I think it's great. On that note, I did resign from the book club. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just to throw it out there, areas out of a book club. I resigned. It just wasn't for me. We got a good look. We got a good couple months out of her. That's all that's for you. You just have to be honest with yourself and be like, is this me? Yeah. And it wasn't. It wasn't. I couldn't keep up. I couldn't keep up. And everybody should go follow and listen to same page book club because you guys crush it and genuinely love having discussion about these books. Yes. And some of us read them and some of us listen to them. That is true. And that is very true. It is. Kelly is a big listener. Kelly is a big listener because I feel like Kelly needs to be doing multiple things at one time often. And really, you can consume it any way you want. I get it if you have someone who's trying to say to you, like, I'm a big reader. And you're like, are you? And then they say they're just doing audiobooks. I'd be like, wow. If you listen to audiobooks, how do you speak on, like, if someone said, talking about a book and you go, oh, I read that. You wouldn't say, oh, I read that. You would say, I listen to it. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. As long as you're not seeing, like, no, I do think sometimes people do that. Like sometimes they're like, I read that one. Yeah. Like, they're like, they did, like, they were listening to it. But if you're, if you're honest about it, you're like, oh, I listen to it. Then yeah, that's totally fine. The stories are so great. You want them to be consumed, like, however you want to consume them. But you can't be out here saying you're, you're reading when you're, if you're just like an, if you're an audiobook person, because you're listening. Yeah. That's fair, very fair. But all can participate in a book class. Yes. Yes. Let him participate. Absolutely. All right. Moving on. Hi, Maria, Fran, Noah and all of it. First of all, I just want to tell you guys, I love you so much. I've been listening since almost the beginning and you guys are the best. I feel like we're best friends. Anyways, I'm going to say anonymous because this is quite a hot take and I'm so sorry if this encompasses you guys, because I know you got married recently. But my hot take is that destination weddings are a huge, like, major inconvenience for everyone attending. And I just like, I've heard the different reasons why couples choose to have a destination wedding. And it still just feels like it's such a major inconvenience. I have not gone to a few friends weddings because one was in Mexico. I live in New England. One was in Mexico. One is on the, in the west. And mind you, all of them live like the friends that I'm having that have these destination weddings live near me. Like, we're all in the same like one to two states. So it's just, and their reasoning seems to be that only the people that are really close with them will end up going. But I don't think that's fair because who has the, you know, the money to go to all these different destination weddings and also the time out of work instead of it just taking like a weekend. Now it's going to be like a whole week event. And yeah, it's just, it's just super inconvenient. And I want to know your thoughts. Love you guys. Bye. Love you too. Here's the thing. I think that if you are a couple who's choosing to have a destination wedding, you need to be aware of these feelings because yes, it is an inconvenience. If you call it straight, how it is, it is an inconvenience to some people who maybe can't have the time off from work. Maybe don't have the money for the travel. They have to go out of their way to plan to get to a destination. It can be a major inconvenience. It can also be for some guests who can do it a time where they're like, this is a great time to maybe parlay this into a vacation. This is a great time to get away. I'm excited to go celebrate this couple. There's, there's multiple sides. And I think everybody is valid in their own feeling about it. And I think if you are the couple who's choosing to have a destination wedding, you need to be okay with people feeling a certain way about it. You want to choose to do it. That's your absolute right to get married in the way you want to do it. If you want to have a destination wedding, fucking go for it. That's your right. But you also have to be okay with people feeling a certain way about it. That's my take on it. Yeah. I mean, I had a destination wedding. So it's like, it's, it's, it's a certain, I know you're looking at me like I didn't have a destination. No, I don't think you're that is a destination. I guess it is, but like, it is because everybody had to travel on worth it's mean. So that's not like to me like a destination. Yeah, but it's a destination for everybody else. Like it's, everybody has to travel because like you have to take a boat. Yeah. I mean, yeah, playing. I mean, you have to fly. No one knows. Yeah, but I also think it's less of a, it is destination wedding, but it is not in the way that you're making people fly to like Italy or Mexico or those kinds of destination weddings, which are, which takes so much more time. I'm sure. You know, like want to your wedding who live in New England. Yeah. So like, it's not crazy. No, it wasn't, it wasn't a crazy destination, but still somewhere that requires travel. It's not in the neighborhood where we live or most of our or most of our family lives. Right, but people could get there the day before. Like whereas if you're going to Italy or whatever, that's taken up a whole week of time. For sure, you're, you're planning that into something else. It, it really is up. It really is up to the couple getting married. And like you said, I think most people who do plan a destination wedding or like a wedding abroad, let's say are very much know that there are some people that are going to complain about it or not want to do it. And, and that's okay. Like, but I don't think, I don't think you should knock the couple for choosing a destination wedding. You know, like there's like, it's, hey, I might, I don't think I'd be able to go, but you guys have an amazing time. Like, I'm so happy for you. That's like their choice. Because I think sometimes then the couple maybe gets shamed for the choice. And like, that's not really fair. Because that's, you know, that's what they want to do. But I guess you know, you can't just be like, oh, sorry, I can't make it. Like if you're one of her good friends, like you have to go. Yeah. Yeah. But then that goes into the conversation of like, if you can't, if you genuinely can't afford it or whatever, then you have to be honest with your friend and be like, hey, I, I, I can't swing this. Which I'm sure, you know, happens. Yeah. And if you're in the wedding party, I think you are close enough with that person that you have some idea that that's what they're planning or they want to do that. Like, and I think like, like you said, it's not a, these assholes are getting married here. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, no, unfortunately, it's going to be an inconvenience for me and I can't make it. But have the best time. Because at the end of the day, it's absolutely up to what the couple wants. Yeah. And the couple is just going to have to be like, this is what we want to do. Either you can make it and that's great. And if you can't, I'm so sorry. And thank you for even considering. And I'm pro for people, you know, making their, making their choice. If they want to travel, go right ahead. Just for my own personal experiences, I've had some amazing trips around my friend's weddings and places that I wouldn't have been or gotten go to that have been like so much fun. And it's been such a great trip. Totally understand for other reasons. If you can't, if you can't make that happen. But I like wouldn't say, oh my, oh my God, like we haven't wanted, we've so many to go to. It's there. So all these things. Because at the end of the day, like I feel a lot of people end up having a great time. There are, of course, so many other factors that come into play. But it's some, it's up to us. You got it. You got to switch it up for, for the weddings, even just thinking if we went polar opposite and it's like, Oh, everybody that you knew kept their wedding local, you'd be going to the same wedding over and over and over and over again. Which like isn't, isn't a bad thing either. But they get, I just think it's fun. Like I think it's fun to have, I don't know, different places to go to when seeing like different choices people make and mix it up. But no matter what, like most weddings would be considered somewhat of an inconvenience for some people, like no matter where they are, you get, it takes up your whole weekend. Unless it's like, unless it's in your city. But even then, you know, it's your, that is your whole weekend. Well, no, if it's in your city, in the party, it's like a day. If I have a, if I have a wedding in New York and it's a wedding on a Saturday night in New York, I'm not like, oh, this is a major inconvenience for me. No, no, no, no. That would be insane. But now what the way weddings are, it's like, it's most weddings, a lot of times weddings are a three day of, a three day affair. But like for Ria's wedding, it was like, if you, if they weren't, like doing the pre wedding festivities,
or the day after stuff like that is just like the night, Saturday night for them, for the most part. - Yeah, yeah. - Yeah, it's not like everybody does the whole thing. It really comes down to what you can and can't do and being able to acknowledge that some people are gonna be able to do some things that you can and vice versa, you know? - Yeah, it's just like not a personal, like I don't think it should be a personal attack to anybody. - No, no. - Planet Fitness is a judgment-free environment where you're free to get strong your way on your time. I'm actually scared that we never will. What do you think? Do you think that it's going to be like a, I don't know, like, is he ever going to say it? Is she gonna collab it with like a new album or what? I have no idea, but I am sure I am shocked that we haven't yet seen anything and I'm scared that we won't ever. Also, 100% want you to do a chicks in the office and debate my art collab. I love those two guys. I love it to see you guys go talk together. Okay, thank you, bye. - By the way, they didn't follow back. Not that we were expecting them to, but they didn't. - And node hate no suspension yet. - No, no, no, no Jonas Fowler's mentioned yet. No mouths of the amount of stuff. - Maybe they pre-take their episodes. - Right, right, so true. - I think we will see stuff, I just, I don't know when, but I think there'll be something. If anything down the line, like a new album comes out and maybe there's like bits and pieces. - Album cover. - Yeah, maybe not album cover, but like. - We kinda sick though. - I could see her, I could see her, like making a new music video and it's like in a house and there's like a framed photo in the back of the music video that people have to like pause and zoom in and be like, oh my god, is that Taylor and Travis with their way? - I could so see that. - Or, or let's put up three vinyls on Taylor Swift Merch.com and you gotta buy the vinyls to find. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yep, yep. - Also very possible. - I do think that we'll see them one day. I think that they are so in love and love sharing it with the world and that's a beautiful thing and I think that they had no problem doing that for their engagement and they waited a little bit to share that. So they're probably just still, you know, soaking in that honeymoon bliss. I know that Travis is back at camp, training camp for the season and maybe they just want to soak it in and have it to themselves and not have, 'cause they know people are gonna commentate on what they feel about the wedding pictures and sometimes yours is not in the mood to deal with that and you're like, I want to soak it in and be happy about our wedding and our pictures and I don't want the outside noise and I respect that decision if that's the way they're gonna go with it. - And it's only been about a month. Maybe she's got that standard wedding photographer situation where she has a gun on the photo. - She's waiting on the photo. - She hasn't got all of her pictures back yet. - I would bet my life, that's not the case. - No, it's not the case at all. - She has those pictures the day after. - I'm joking, obviously, that, but yes. Any other normie out there, you gotta wait. - She's saying this is bullshit, I better get a discount. (laughing) - I want my money back, I want my money back. Where did this confetti come from? - You remember, what is that from? - Honestly, it's from the 1000 episode, but I have been seeing things fall on you and I'm like, where is it, how is it landing on me? - Is it like on the light or something? - Maybe on the, on the, yeah, I've been seeing things fall on friend, and I thought I was just matching them in my head. - I just, look at all this, like a lot of confetti was just all in my shirt, how did it get there? - No, no, it's been, I thought I was seeing things 'cause I did see things like fall on your shirt. - Confetti's been slowly falling on me. - So much of it. - Wow, is that? - I'm sorry, I'm trying to figure out what I was just quoting while you guys talk about that. Is that for wedding crashers? He doesn't say I want my money back, but he says, I want my back, he want, I want my something back. - Without a wedding photographer. - No, no, not a back. - Are you just thinking of me girls? - I want my picture back. - Oh, I want my picture back to me girls. - Yeah, yeah. - Damn. - Yeah. - I thought, I don't know what I was quoting. - Yeah, yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - Yeah, that's what it was. - Damn. All right, that wraps up the pop corner. Keep calling in with your hot takes, your boys, males, your opinions. We love hearing them call us at the pop corner. All right, that wraps up today's episode of Chicks in the Office. Thank you so much for watching and listening. We love you guys so very much. And we'll talk to you on Friday. - Yeah, Chicks in the Office. A long time listener, first time caller. Look at the chart, two does the best. Two chicks getting paid in reality checks. You can find them at the gym, it's not even a flex. Last minute, red carpet, flew them out on the jet. Yeah, they're who you want to be. They're always on your screen, two queens. And they might be spilling royalty. A lot of topics that are popping here to get into. I know a show that you probably want to listen to. - Who turned the heat up? - Turn the beat up. Record the pie made a bag, put their feet up. The ones that leave no crumbs when they clean up. Who's the pie that they all want to meet up? Who turned the heat up? Turn the beat up. [BLANK_AUDIO]
