The speaker presents five real-life situations to assess whether individuals are "assholes," focusing on boundary violations, emotional harm, and ethical judgment in relationships. In one case, joking with a dementia-stricken grandmother, the speaker defends the behavior as a coping mechanism despite its uncomfortable nature. Regarding a mother-in-law’s uninvited visit during childbirth, the speaker argues that respecting a spouse’s wishes is valid and not morally wrong. The refusal of someone to eat meat due to "not eating babies" is criticized for being tone-deaf and morally superior, suggesting it’s inappropriate to repeat such statements. When a woman is confronted about her father-in-law staring at her, the speaker believes she should have first consulted her husband, not confront the father directly. The husband who criticizes breakfast meals is clearly identified as the true "asshole" due to his lack of appreciation for effort and love. The speaker also rejects responsibility for debts incurred by their fiancé, emphasizing no legal or moral obligation exists, and calls for direct communication between the couple. Finally, the act of hiring a prostitute to help a friend meet women is condemned as manipulative and unethical, highlighting the dangers of covert interference in personal lives. Overall, the speaker advocates for empathy, mutual respect, and clear communication, arguing that true moral failure lies not in a single act, but in disrespecting boundaries, consent, and emotional well-being.
Welcome back everybody. Today you're gonna help me decide if these people in this video are assholes or not I need a little bit of help today, so let's go. Am I the asshole for God-a-ming my grandma with dementia. Oh my god. There my grandma has dementia and it's gotten pretty bad over the years I want to start off by saying I love my grandma. That's a bad place to start like I just You just know this is gonna get bad now. Let me just start by saying I love her to death, all right? But I torture her mentally. We were very very close before the disease took hold. I would even go as far to call her my best friend We always talked on the phone and we joked a lot. She was a very funny woman appreciated how much I like to joke around She lives with my parents, so I see her often. She mostly has short-term memory loss So something I've started doing out of habit is saying something like can you hold these grandma? She'll say hold what and I'm gonna spawn hold these nuts on your head. Dude, imagine saying that to your grandma Yo, grandma. Hold my fucking nuts on your forehead. You old bastard. Fuck. She's confused But she will also forget it happened within minutes. I don't know why I do it Maybe as a way to cope again She really used to joke around with me a lot, so I do think she would appreciate it I got her with a remember when I was a kid and you would take me to that slide and she said slide and I said slide these balls across your face I don't know. It's my weird way of staying connected to her I guess a coping mechanism maybe I don't know that it's a coping mechanism dude. I don't know what this is This is like challenging an eight-year-old to a one-on-one basketball game for money Like you're like, I just kind of like do it and it makes us connected You know we get to hang out, but I make a money off it like you're clearly that your grandpa is also the worst person to be doing this Too because you're like slide these nuts across your face and then like two minutes later you do it again And you're like, oh remember the slide and she's like wait what slide again? And you're like slide these nuts again You old bastard got you. I would say that you're an asshole if you're like another people get in on it Like if you're letting your boy be like yo, just get her because she's not gonna remember Like if it is a coping mechanism, I understand people grieve differently. I don't know that I can't believe that even it came out of my mouth Just now, but if it is a coping mechanism, you know, it is what it is You have an a little fun with your grandma. You think she would appreciate it It's just funny in a vacuum to tell your grandma that you're gonna put your nuts on her forehead That's insane moving on am I the asshole for telling my mother-in-law? She couldn't visit my wife in the hospital the same day our child was born Huh my wife and I discussed it in the days leading up to the birth of our son and we agreed that we did not want any visitors the same day He was born my mother-in-law was notified that my wife was going to require a C section And she told me to tell her when she was able to come and visit and I told her I would do so I texted our group chat for my wife's side of the family updating them that the procedure went well and that the mama and baby We're doing perfect. She replied and said I know you didn't tell me to come But we are in the waiting room. We're so excited. I want to be here for you too I texted her back saying that we appreciated her coming But they should go home and that we would see them tomorrow my father-in-law called me shortly after and insult me in every way imaginable and my mother-in-law sent me a long text saying how disrespectful it was of me to not allow them to visit their daughter I quickly reminded them that day wasn't about them and that it was about my wife the baby and I we haven't spoken since Am I the asshole? You are not the asshole. I don't know why this is such a thing with mother-in-father-in-laws Where they have to be overbearing. I think some people have a hard time letting go of the fact that your child is a fully grown adult and now You actually have the duty and it's hard to let them go and figure out their own life I mean you probably do it at 18 years old when you kind of let them go to college You can't control all of their decisions, but now they're having a child and they're telling you hey I'll hit you up. I'll let you know when it comes please respect that and you're not like what can you honestly expect here? And I don't know what this guy replied back to the father-in-law But if you're if my fucking wife's father called me and started insulting me because he wasn't respecting my wishes There's gonna be a lot coming out of my mouth into the phone Okay, because that is not something what this is not like a debate. This is not up for conversation We have wishes. This is our thing. We will get you when we get to you and that's kind of it Like I'm sure it's it's easier said than done But you need to respect your family's wish your daughter's wishes She's having a baby and she doesn't want to see you right now and you and you know that I told you that and I told you I had of time and now you're like insulting me can't do that can't do that I'm not I'm not a fan of the overbearing in-laws or or whatever your own parents for that matter Doing any of this. I would not stand for that either. So I don't think you're an asshole Would I be the asshole for repeatedly telling someone that she eats babies? What are we doing here when my partner? I ordered Ville. Oh, there it is a friend of his said that she wouldn't be having Ville because she doesn't eat babies After three of us got our meals She again announced she doesn't eat Ville or lamb because she doesn't eat babies and went on to enjoy her chicken She visited a few months later and for some reason she announced her stance on not eating babies again Even though we weren't having lamb or Ville later when my partner said she would be visiting us again I decided to do some research. I discovered chickens are killed younger than lambs and calves for meat Loan behold at an afternoon gathering with various other people a wedding menu was discussed and she proclaimed I don't eat babies Yeah, again, I said but you eat chicken and she said so and I said they're only around six weeks old when they're slaughtered for meat Slaughtered for meat. You know you're doing with that. She said no, they're not they're fully grown And I said it appears that way because of how they are bred and fed she then screamed I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear it shut up. I shut up So as not to cause more of a scene. I can't seem to let this go She says it in a way that to me comes across as morally superior next time she visits I want to say with authority you either stop eating chicken or you stop saying I don't eat babies if you continue to both You're a liar would I be the asshole? I don't think so. I don't think this person is asshole You guys tell me I don't know if this person's an asshole, but this would bother me a lot for sure I think it's one thing to meet someone and if they're like, oh, you know, I don't eat babies I'd be like first of all if I already ordered it and you're saying it like that I feel like that's rude like oh, I don't eat babies like of course that's coming across as morally superior And it's also just off putting in a little rude to say it in that way you can get your point across and and you know Whatever without being rude and saying it in that way of being like I don't eat babies like you know what you're doing here To not let that go and just to continuously do that like at a certain point It's like, okay, you don't eat babies you hang out with people dude who do does that make you better than like you know what I'm saying? If you care so much and you're so morally superior than everyone that you have to announce it all the time Why are you hanging out with us then you're hanging out with the murderous? You got guilty by association then and I totally respect that people don't eat meat for Those kinds of reasons. I totally respect that and I think there should be a mutual respect in that way That is your decision. I don't think that anyone should be forcing their views on you Definitely not in a way like this like oh, I don't eat fucking babies and then also Freaking out when you're like I don't want to hear it. No, it's like all right Well, then you don't like reality and you and all you wanted was to Stand on my head to feel tall. It's not it's not nice. Okay, so this person's a little bit of an asshole I respect their choices, but to bed it's a bad way to package the message in my opinion all right before we get to the rest of this video We do have some sponsors and the first one is factor. I always catch my father-in-law looking at my breasts. Well There it is especially if I'm not wearing a bra I've caught him in a mirror once looking right at me when I was bending over to pick something up He steals glances all the time I was a little drunk at a family party and saw him look down at my cleavage and in front of a few other people said take a picture that way you can keep
it forever. He turned beet red and said he didn't know what I was referring to then walked away. My husband said I was an asshole for that and that I should have said something to him first and then he could have talked to my dad. But I don't believe he would have. Am I the asshole? This is a tough one. I definitely think that you should have said something to your husband. I'm like, "Hey, I feel like your dad is like staring at my fucking titties." Like what's going on here? And then it would be on him to say something. If he didn't say something, then I think you can take actions as your own hands. You would hope that you've married someone that when you tell them something like that, they will absolutely be on your team and go over and try to fix the problem. How do I say something like that's my dad? I mean, you're asking the wrong person. I would blatantly pull him aside and be like, "What the fuck are you doing? Are you staring at my wife's tits?" That's also my dad. He'd probably be like, "Yeah, did you not?" I don't know if the right course of action is to embarrass someone if they don't necessarily know they're, I don't know, because this guy's wrong for staring at your tits. Like obviously that's like creepy and weird and that's making you uncomfortable. And I don't think that you should have approached him like one-on-one. Maybe that's not the best thing because that's like an uncomfortable conversation I have. But tell your husband and he should be able to have that conversation. You know that that's his father being like, "Bro, what are you doing? You're embarrassing yourself. You're embarrassing me. You're making her feel uncomfortable." And it should end there. If your husband is not willing to talk to his dad, then you can tell you could do whatever you want at that point. You can be like, "Hey, stop staring at my fucking tits, Fred." All right? But yeah, I don't know that you're an asshole because you're the one this is happening to. I just think you know you should have gave your husband a shot at fixing it so that you could kind of make it the least uncomfortable as possible because ultimately that's what you want. I don't know. Am I the asshole for not cooking my husband breakfast anymore? 75% of the time I have to wake my husband up with breakfast otherwise he sleeps half the day. What? He's a firefighter so has weird hours to begin with but it's the only way to get him out of bed and moving. Instead of being grateful and thankful for not having to be an adult for the first 45 minutes of the day, he criticizes whatever I make if it's not perfect. Oh my God, dude. So after this morning's comment of the eggs are dry, why do you overcook your eggs? I just had enough. I don't have anyone cooking for me or waking me up with the princess treatment so I said you can cook your breakfast from now on. You're acting like a spoiled brat. He says he's allowed to have an opinion if he's being served dog shit. Oh my God, dude. What the fuck? Mind you, I'm an excellent cook. Like, am I really the asshole here? If I stop cooking for him, I'm fed up. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. You're not the asshole. This guy's a fucking asshole. You're getting woken up with breakfast. Like there's effort going into that. There's love going into that. For you to have an opinion, not only an opinion, and saying like I can have an opinion, having an opinion, but then also referring to it as dog shit. What are we talking about? I would then the next day serve him dog shit. Like I would find a dog and be like, can I grab that? And then I put it on a plate and say, here you go. You fuck any asshole. Here's your dog shit. You don't know how good you got it with those eggs. Here's real dog shit. Yeah, I know. This guy's a dick, dude. I wouldn't cook for someone like this. Like you don't want to cook for anyone. If you feel like you're being taken for granted or they're not appreciative of your efforts into this relationship or whatever, get the fuck out of there. This guy's a piece of shit. Am I the asshole for refusing to use my income to pay back my fiance's debts to his family? My fiance and I have been together since we were teenagers and his grandparents who raised him have never liked me. They've spent years putting me down calling me names, criticizing me and generally treating me like I'm the problem in their family. For the last seven years, I was a stay-at-home mom raising our son while my fiance worked. During that time, I fiance got into a car accident after letting his insurance lapse, which led to around $20,000 in restitution costs. His parents helped him financially. Later, they also bought him a car after he promised he would pay them back. The car is completely in his name, not mine, and I was never involved in the agreement and was never asked to repay anything. Now I'm back to work and his grandparents think I should use my income to pay them back for both the accident-related costs and the car. They say that because I stayed home instead of working. Their grandson needed financial help and their owed repayment from me. The thing is, I never borrowed money from them. Never promised repayment and none of these debts are legally tied to me. My fiance made those choices. Am I the asshole for refusing to pay responsibly for paying them back? I don't think so. I don't think you're an asshole. Where is your fiance in this conversation, you know? Is he not being like, "Hey, I'm going to pay you. Why are you talking to her?" Why wouldn't he say that? Or if he's kind of like, "Yeah, you know, we're together so you should pay." My guy, I didn't crash the fucking car. You crashed the car. What's that got to do with me? I was raising the kid. You were working. You crashed the car. You took the fucking car from your parents. Now I'm paying him back. What are we talking about here? Unless it's like a, you guys have a joint account that you're putting money into and you both are like, "Well, we're getting married. Our money's, our money's, you hear me?" Our money is together. Then, you know, it's, it's going to come from that regardless. You guys are a couple who are getting married. So you imagine there's just basically one pool of money. I get being this woman and going back to the work for the first time in a while and wanting some money for yourself as well. I don't think that all of her money should go towards this, you know? But at the end of the day, it's your, it's your together money. And where is your fiance? Is my question again of being like, "Stop talking to her about this. I'm going to figure out the payments. I'm working. I have a job and we'll figure it out." And, you know, whatever. She's not the correspondence for, you know, this problem I am. I am the one who took the money or took the car rather from you guys. Talk to me. Don't talk to her. At least there should be that. And you figured out with your husband of what you guys are doing. How are you going to pay for it? Whether it be a joint account or it's all going to come from him or whatever it is. That comes from you guys. They shouldn't even be asking about this. Honestly. My opinion. Am I the asshole for hiring a professional lady to meet me and my friend at the bar? What is a professional lady? Just a human being lady? What is the, what does the business card look like for this woman? It just says, "I'm a professional woman." Like, what are we talking about? My friend is very low confidence in self-esteem. He's attractive and cool, but he can't seem to meet any girls or close the deal. So yeah, big deal. I found a prostitute. Oh, okay. I found a prostitute online and paid her to meet us at the bar and come on to my friend. And then toward the end of the night, she said, "Let's go back to your place." And they did. And I went home a little bit later and heard him moaning like a grandpa getting a back rub. That's what I'm picturing. Safe to say is a success. He will never know I did this, but some people I've told are saying I'm an asshole for it. Am I? Kind of. It's kind of weird that you would do this. Yeah, I mean, I, yes. I think my answer is yes. Like, this is such a weird thing to do. Why are you so invested in this kid's life that you like, you know, sexually, you need to make it happen for him. You feel like that, that's a burden on you. Like, what does it have to do with you, dude? We'll do it when he's ready or whatever. Unless he asked you for that. Yeah, I'd be cool if like, I don't know. Someone got a prostitute for me or something. Like if he said something like that, but sure. But the guy's trying his best, these mean girls. I don't think you should take liberties in other people's lives this way. I don't, I don't think that's right to do. You gotta like these things sort of happen naturally. And also this is weird now. You know, like you have this secret over him. And you're like, Oh, like, I don't know. I would hate for someone to have that. I'm, I can control the situation where you had sex. I made it happen. Like, I'd be like, Oh, dude, what are you doing? Like, it's a, it's a weird power dynamic thing. I don't like it at all. I do think you're an asshole. And that's fucked up. You shouldn't do this to your friends. Anyway, help me out in the comments. Do you think I got this right? Or didn't get it right? Let me know who's an asshole, who's not an asshole. And thank Thank you so much for watching, don't forget to subscribe, we'll see you next time.
Podcast Summary
Key Points:
The speaker shares five personal scenarios to determine whether someone is an "asshole," focusing on boundaries, respect, and emotional boundaries in family and relationships.
In the case of joking with a grandmother with dementia, the speaker admits to a disturbingly inappropriate comment ("hold my nuts on your forehead") but justifies it as a coping mechanism, calling it a personal boundary issue rather than moral wrongdoing.
Regarding the mother-in-law refusing to visit during a hospital birth, the speaker argues it's not an asshole move—respecting a spouse’s wishes is valid, especially when it involves a new child’s privacy and autonomy.
On the topic of someone refusing to eat meat because they "don’t eat babies," the speaker criticizes the morally superior tone and repeated insistence as offensive and inappropriate, emphasizing mutual respect over judgment.
In a situation where a woman’s father-in-law stares at her, the speaker believes the woman should have first spoken to her husband to address the issue, not confront the father directly—highlighting the importance of relationship dynamics and communication.
The husband who criticizes breakfast meals is deemed the true "asshole" for dismissing love and effort with insults like "dog shit," showing how lack of appreciation undermines care.
The speaker refuses to repay debts tied to a fiancé’s car accident and financial choices, asserting no legal or moral obligation exists, and stresses that the fiancé should address the repayments directly.
Finally, hiring a “professional lady” to help a friend meet women is criticized as manipulative and disrespectful—pointing to ethical concerns about interfering in another’s personal life without consent.

FAQs
It may seem humorous, but it's inappropriate and potentially offensive, especially given her condition. While the speaker claims it's a coping mechanism, it can cause distress and is likely to be deeply disrespectful to someone with dementia.
No, you're not an asshole. Respect for your wife’s wishes and privacy is valid. In-laws often struggle with letting go of control, but it's important to honor the family member’s autonomy and boundaries in such sensitive moments.
Yes, it can be seen as morally superior and off-putting when said repeatedly. While personal dietary choices are valid, stating them in a way that implies superiority or judgment is disrespectful and can cause discomfort in conversations.
You're not an asshole, but the situation requires careful handling. You should first discuss it with your husband, who can speak to your father-in-law. Direct confrontation may be uncomfortable, but addressing it through your spouse is the most respectful and constructive approach.
No, you're not an asshole. Your husband’s criticism of your cooking, especially calling it 'dog shit,' shows poor appreciation for your effort. You’re justified in ending the practice—his behavior reflects disrespect, not your fault.
No, you're not an asshole. You did not borrow money or make any promises to repay. The debts and car were taken on by your fiancé’s family, not you. You should not be financially responsible for decisions made by him alone.
