[Music] Welcome to and the update is I am your host Ross Golan and this is the music industry news for September 14th, 2026. The biggest news is in Mac more in that year. No, no, no. The biggest news is that and the writer is has another billboard in Times Square. That's right. Go check it out. It's exciting. My head looks huge. But we just released an episode of Aaron Desner. He's awesome. And there's been a great, great support for that. So we're very excited about that anyway. The other news is that Universal Music Group zoos distro kid for copyright infringement because they say distro kid is allowing a lot of infringe copyrights to be uploaded using AI-generated music, masquerading as human made. And yes, we all know distro kid knows about this. That is another kick in the gut for the AI Slop community. Other news, BMI partners with Gallagher to help songwriters find health insurance. Could it be? BMI Health Connect offers songwriters and composers free guidance to help find and enroll in health insurance plans. It has been hard to get actual healthcare for songwriters because we can't unionize. And so once again, another effort to find basic rights for songwriters. The American Music Tourism Act passes Congress and heads to the president. The bill expands efforts to promote travel to the U.S. for concerts, festivals, venues, and other music attractions across the country. That's good. That's good for all of us. Ticketmaster becomes first music partner for Meta's music AI. U.S. users can connect their ticket master accounts to Muse to discover events and browse personalized ticket, seating, and pricing information. That's what happens when you sell your information to Meta. They've based signs with inner scope records and verb records, so that means that she's no longer independent. Once again, inner scope and UMG are cleaning up. They are picking up some amazing artists that are around good on John Jannick and team over there. And of course, let's go to charts. Jews in Texas by L.A. Langley is number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the 22nd week tying the all time 100 Hot 100 record with Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas. Let's just say we interviewed Miranda Lambert on Monday and discussed her co-write on that song, plus she co-produced it. What a legend. Dandelion by L.A. Langley is back at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, probably because of that. Baby wow by Carol G is number one on the Billboard Global 200 chart. And that's pretty much it. Same old, same old, same people at the top. Still killing it. Wow, what a run. Anyway, thank you Georgia Web Bush for the excellent notes. Thank you all for checking out that Aaron Desner interview. Thank you Amazon for the support in Times Square. I hope you guys enjoy that. Take a picture. Send it to us. Thank you for all the Patreon members who came to the Miranda Lambert interview in Nashville. And if you want to come to our interview next Friday live in Toronto. You go in DM us and we'll make sure you are on the list. That's right. We are going to be there. And we are going to have an interview with Canadian legend. That's it for tonight. Have a great weekend. Bye.
