100. Aleph: A Meditation of Unity

This transcription is a guided Jewish meditation led by Ali Ezair, celebrating the 100th session. It frames the number 100 as a milestone and a new beginning, drawing on the letter Aleph, which in its spelled-out form (Alif, Lamed, Fay) has a numerical value of 111, symbolizing cycles of spiritual growth that widen like an ascending staircase. The meditation aims to unite the Aleph with the number one, integrating spiritual energies across four soul levels: Nephesh (physical), Ru'ah (emotional), Nishama (intellectual), and Chaya (transcendent). Each level corresponds to a letter of the divine name (Yud, Heh, Vav, Heh), and the Aleph serves as a vessel for these letters. The practitioner is guided to relax, visualize standing on a mountain summit, and progressively connect the Aleph with each soul level through focused breathing and meditation. At the apex, the Aleph reveals its full form as the word for 1000, representing the unity of all levels. The meditation culminates in the unification of the four divine letters and soul levels, fostering a deep spiritual experience of closeness with the infinite source. The session concludes with a return to present awareness and a congratulatory note for reaching the 100th meditation.

Hello, welcome to Guided Jewish Meditations. My name is Ali Ezair. With meditation 100, we have arrived at both a milestone as well as a new beginning. Just as the letter Alif in its fully spelled out form, Alif, Lamed, Fay, has the numerical value of 111. So too, does the number one elevate itself into the tenths and the hundreds? Each time growing in its capacity to contain, to balance, and to include. In the penetrating wisdom of the Torah, we perceive of the letter Alif as the beginning of every new cycle, whether it be the cycle of one through nine, ten through ninety-nine or one hundred to nine hundred ninety-nine. We always return to the same spiritual place, but each time, like a winding staircase that becomes wider and wider as it ascends. We arrive with a new and stronger set of spiritual vessels, able to contain, comprehend, manifest, and channel an entirely new level of divine light. Today's meditation is about the unity of the letter Alif and the number one, and how we can integrate and experience the spiritual energies of this letter within the four levels of our soul. As we attempt to enter the ever-increasing spiral of Ascent from one to ten and from ten to one hundred and finally from one hundred to one thousand, we encounter and experience the unity that pervades everything, the unity of the eternal Creator, who permeates everything in existence. Manifesting this unity are the four letters of the ineffable name of the Creator, and as we ascend the ladder of the levels of our soul. We experience the unity each level has with its infinite source, manifested through the letter Alif, and through the letter of the divine name that is connected to each level of soul. This meditation represents the opportunity for a deep spiritual experience of closeness with the source of all, but in order to enter the states of consciousness required to approach these levels of the mind, the body must first feel completely relaxed and safe. Please find a quiet and comfortable place where you can remain undisturbed and where you can allow the mind and soul to ascend from its body-centered consciousness and into the worlds of consciousness of the divine soul. Begin a deep, even and slow rhythm of breath. As you begin each cycle, experience the rejuvenating energy and light contained within the air streaming into your lungs, filling your body with radiating energy and your mind with common light, and as you exhale, expel from your body and mind any negativity you may be experiencing at this moment. Release this negative energy with every exhale of your lungs, allowing you to further relax your body and mind. Continue breathing with this slow, even cycle of rejuvenating spiritual breath. Within every breath, you feel your mind come further alive, taking over your entire being and you experience the worlds of your soul open up to you. As we begin, this meditation of the alif. [Music] As you open your mind's eye, you find yourself standing on the top of a towering mountain, standing above everything around it and elevating you into a glorious vista of the world all around you. Extending as far as the eye can see in all directions, you see the horizon filled with the ranges of immense and majestic mountains, with you standing upon their center at their highest point. You allow your body to experience the air surrounding you. It is still and despite the elevation of the mountain you are standing on, you experience the air as warm sensations of gentle light, brushing up against your skin and infusing your body with a warm gentle glow. You feel your feet firmly grounded upon the summit of this mountain, making you a part of it integral to it and intimately connected to your soul. You breathe in deeply and experience the warm air as it rushes into you, infusing itself with your body, heart and mind. You instantly feel the energy and potential of this world, the world of the spirituality of your soul, opening up endless portals of consciousness to you. Allowing yourself to remain perfectly balanced and centered, you meditate on the stillness all around you. It is as if this world has been created just for you and just for this moment, as each breathtaking mountain range leads us to you, to where you are standing, here in the stillness of your mind. Continue meditating on your surroundings with a still mind, focusing on your breathing alone and preparing your mind and soul for the letters of the Torah. [Music] From within the perfect inner center of your mind and soul, you behold the formation of the letter "Aleph" begin to manifest itself, forming slowly and with great deliberation. It grows in your mind's eye and extends itself before you and above the horizon of the endless breaths of the mountains and the vastness before you. Against the gentle blue sky, the "Aleph" radiates forth with brilliant black fire. It's form growing with every breath of your mind and soul. As you allow the "Aleph" to further manifest itself in your mind, you experience a deep affinity and connection begin to develop between this "Aleph" and your "Nephesh", the first level of your soul. You experience the inner center of your mind and soul, and you experience the inner center of your mind and soul. You experience the inner center of your mind and soul, and the inner center of your mind and soul. You experience the inner center of your mind and soul. It is from the center of this "Aleph" that you begin to experience a consciousness of inner peace and balance, spreading along your center vertical line and all throughout your body, and relaxing and rejuvenating every part of your physical self. As you allow yourself to become attuned to the energy of this "Aleph" at its connection with your "Nephesh", you behold an inner light develop from deep within the "Aleph". It is the "Hey", the fourth letter of the ineffable divine name that has manifested itself along with this "Aleph" within it and surrounding it and filling it with radiating light and inner wisdom. Experience the balance of the "Aleph" as it centers itself with your "Nephesh" along your physical center line with the two sides of the "Aleph" in perfect equilibrium with the two sides of your physical body and within this "Aleph" experience and remain conscious of the inner "Hey", allowing its light to flow through your "Nephesh" and body. [Music] [Music] [Music] As your meditation continues, you behold the "Aleph" extending itself before you begin to change its appearance and energy, ascending in a spiritual dance along the widening spiraling ladder of your soul. You follow the ascension of the "Aleph" into the second level of consciousness, the level of "Ru'ah" where your heart serves as its center. You allow your mind to adjust to this new level of spiritual consciousness and meditation with your body remaining in a perfect state of balanced, relaxed stillness. And as you do this, you enter the world of emotions, the world of your "Ru'ah". Within this world, balance and peace are states of emotional equilibrium, with your "Ru'ah" serving as the midpoint of all that is you, between up and down and between right and left, between receiving and giving, and between vessel and light. All of you centered in one focal point at the center of your heart and at the center of this "Aleph". Take a deep breath and allow the "Aleph" before you in your mind's eye to acquire a deep intimacy and connection with your "Ru'ah". Experience the balancing energy of the "Aleph" as you allow it to connect deeply with the center of your heart, leading steadily at the core of all that is you. As you allow this meditation of the "Aleph" with your "Ru'ah" to continue to permeate your mind and soul, you behold the third letter of the divine name of the source of all begin to appear from within the "Aleph" before you. Growing tall in your mind's eye, it radiates forth with brilliant waves of spiritual light, the light of the "Vav" shining forth from within the "Aleph" and echoing throughout your "Ru'ah" at the center of your heart. Experience the cleaving of your soul with the infinite source through this "Aleph" and allow it to balance and heal the entirety of your emotional sense of self and essence. Infusing it with a deep sense of spiritual joy, connection and belonging. "I feel like an old man who doesn't like to have any real friends," he said. "I feel like I'm being a friend of my family." "I feel like I'm being a friend of my family," he said. "I feel like an old man who doesn't like to have any real friends of my family," he said. "I feel like I'm being a friend of my family." [Music] As we approach the third level of your soul, the Nishama, you experience a change in the world around you. As the alif in your mind's eye has once again ascended the ever-widening spiral of the latter of your soul. It is as if you have found the inner portal of your Rua at the center of your heart and followed this portal up and into the worlds of your intellect centered within your brain. You experience the elevation from the consciousness of your body to the consciousness and worlds of your mind and soul. In these worlds, there is no sense of time and space. And everything is a vessel for wisdom, with the letters of the Torah serving as the interface to this wisdom and the world. As you breathe in deeply, you allow the complete stillness of this world to descend upon you. Nothing exists but the immediate endless unity of the now and from within this secret now. You behold the alif of your Nishama manifest itself in your mind and soul. Growing before you, in brilliant and radiating black spiritual fire, it contains within it the light of the second letter of the name of the Creator of all, the "hey". Radiating from within it, in the alif before you, it spans the entire expanse of your mind's eye, with the alif centered before your brain, and the "hey" within it radiating forth, and filling your brain and mental consciousness with spiritual light and energy. Allow this alif to continue its manifestation in your mind and soul. Experience it as the balancing of your mind and intellect centered in your brain, where your Nishama finds its equilibrium and center. Remain focused on the center of your brain and allow the alif with the "hey" within it to approach this center, infuse itself with it, and combine your nefash, rua and Nishama with this point at the center of your brain. Continue meditating on this point, and experience the three alifs along your vertical center line leading up and into this point, nafash into rua and rua into Nishama. culminating with body, heart and mind in perfect unison with the three levels of the soul, and with the three letters of the name of the source of all. Only one letter remains, only one level remains. The first letter remains, only one level remains, only one level remains. As we approach the apex of this meditation, you behold the experience of the three levels of your soul reveal an inner truth. Even though each level contains its own world and expression, it shares the same source and root as all others, joining as one at this root, as all three levels come together as one. As you allow this experience of unity to grow in your mind and soul, you behold the alif before you open up into its fully spelled out form. Alif, Lamid, Fei, forming a new word alif, the word meaning 1000. It has revealed its inner source, the root of all three levels, the Chaya, located above the crown of your forehead, barely touching it, and hovering from above. As you breathe in deeply, you experience the alif complete its spiraling ascend of the ladder of your soul, as it ascends into the level of 1000, where one, ten, and one hundred come together as one, and where the alif reveals that it contains the completed cycle of unity of alif, of the 1000 that contains all levels beneath it. Allow your mind to approach this mystical and holy secret, and from within this alif, allow the first letter of the name of the source of all to emerge, the yud, appearing at the crown of your forehead, and radiating forth with its brilliant wisdom and light. With this fourth level of the Chaya, you have completed the manifestation of the name of the infinite source, with all levels of your soul. Each level perfectly balanced and connected with its alif, and uniting all levels into one. Combine the alifs of all four levels of your soul into one, and through them unite the four letters of the divine name into one unity, the endless light emanating forth from the source of all, filling all of existence through it. Complete this meditation by remaining within the universe. of the aliph, experiencing it through the vessel of your soul, united with its source. [Music] [Music] As we approach the conclusion of this meditation, allow your mind to return to your body and your present surroundings. Take your time, breathe slowly and evenly, and when you feel you are ready, open your eyes. [Music] Thank you for joining me today for this one-hundredth meditation. If you have been with me since the beginning, let us rejoice together. Mazal Tov. Thank you for walking this journey with me. My name is Ali Ezir, may peace be with you. [Music]
