So here's what happened. Starting with a pretty incredible site in Jordan's skies, drones lit up the night as the Ministry of Culture marked the conclusion of its "Hewara" program, which comes as part of the Jordanian narrative project. The show used drones to tell parts of Jordan's story through the sky, bringing history and national symbols to life, using hundreds of lights moving together. And honestly, it made for quite the view. Instead of simply wrapping up the program with a traditional ceremony, Jordan's story became the actual show, with the night sky turning into one massive canvas, moving on to the Royal family, because Jordan celebrated two Royal Birthdays this weekend, and they happened just one day apart. HRH Princess Salma Bint Abdullah II celebrated her 26th birthday on September 26th. Then one day later, her older sister, H-R-H, Princess Imann Bint Abdullah II, celebrated her 30th birthday on September 27th, and the birthday messages from the family started coming in. Her Majesty Queen Rania shared a sweet message for Princess Salma, calling her "The Joy of the Home". Princess Salma has had some pretty impressive milestones over the years, particularly when it comes to aviation. She completed preliminary fixed-wing pilot training, and has served with the Royal Jordanian Air Force. She also took part in an RJF mission, delivering urgent medical supplies to the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza in 2023. Then came Princess Imann's birthday. H-M Queen Rania shared another personal message, this time for her eldest daughter, calling Princess Imann "forever my precious little girl", H-R-H Crown. Prince Hussein also celebrated both of his sisters, sharing a photo of Princess Imann and Salma together with a birthday message. But the Royal Birthday celebrations didn't stop on Instagram. H-M King Abdullah II was spotted taking Princess Imann out for a birthday lunch in Swifi as she turned 30. It was a casual father-daughter moment right here in Imann, and naturally people loved seeing it. So a very happy birthday to their Royal Highness' Princess's Imann and Salma. Now, onto a story that probably made a few people nervous when they first saw the headline. What's that message is are about to cost money in Jordan. Well, some of them. Before you start worrying about how much your family group chat is going to cost, regular WhatsApp users are not being charged to send everyday messages. The changes are specifically for businesses using the WhatsApp business platform to communicate with customers. Starting October 1st, meta is changing how certain business messages are priced. Businesses will get 1,000 service messages free each month. Once that allowance is used, additional qualifying messages can come with a fee. Jordan is included in meta's rest of Middle East pricing category. So your messages to friends, family, and that one person who insists on sending seven-minute voice notes are still free. This is about business to customer communication, not your everyday WhatsApp chats. Moving on, because there was also a big wedding taking over social media. Creator Lena Alcock finally celebrated her wedding after weeks of bridal content, countdowns and preparations. Followers had already been watching the build-up through her posts, with bridal looks and plenty of wedding content leading up to the big day. And then, the wedding finally happened. Photos and videos from the celebration quickly started circulating, while influencers, creators, friends, and followers filled the comments with congratulations. After all those countdowns, Lena's wedding era has officially arrived, congratulations to the newly weds, and finally, we're heading down to Acaba. Amadal Ali recently performed there, and the crowds definitely showed up. Videos from the concert showed a jam-packed audience gathered for the performance, with the venue absolutely filled for the night. And Acaba has been having quite the run when it comes to major entertainment events lately. This was another one where the size of the crowd became part of the story itself.
