AFL Fantasy Mock Draft / The Draft Doctors

Now here's Steve, John O'Gam and the Statesman. - G'day everyone and welcome back to another episode of the Draft Doctors today. We'll be running through the creators mock draft. We run on the AFL Fantasy platform, just Sunday night. So, had some of the people who create AFL Fantasy content, some of the HatChat boys, have a couple of the other coaches, panel boys and had a good old time doing a bit of a mock draft. Before we get into that, obviously a bit of a fantasy fallout from the origin game. Tom Green has confirmed, done the ACL. So, we'll miss the entirety of the 2026 season. Pretty, pretty, I mean, it's just bad things all around. Toby Bedford set for a big spin on the sidelines, Kala R.C. set for a short spin on the sidelines. Finn Kalahan, don't know if it's gonna affect his start to the season, but it looks like missing a couple, the next couple of weeks of training at the very least with an injury and Sam Taylor will miss some time for GWS also certainly with a high grade hamstring strain, including the early rounds, probably a little bit more super coach relevant than AFL Fantasy, but WoE, GWS, just absolutely taking it in the teeth. So, you know, Steve Canaliot, Redemption season is on. Once again, listeners, if you haven't gone to the website or Twitter or Facebook and found the link to purchase the draft, kit the draft kit is out, the ranks will be updated on Friday, so you'll get an email sent out to you if you have purchased it already, and I'll update the files, so if you do purchase it from, let's say late Friday onwards or Saturday, they'll already be updated. And speaking of the draft kit, the winners for the Steve Fizz help in the draft, they announced the competition last week, had to tell us your favorites. What was it, the police song? Yeah, song by the police. We did have some entries in that, it was pretty cool. Was all the way from the UK, it loves every little thing she does is magic, which has that sick fill at the end. Lance thought, do do do, dah dah dah dah, reminded him of his old men drinking out by the value. Look, it's not my favorite song, but I love that memory. Thomas, behind my camel, which I was like, wow, that's a deep cut right there. That is absolutely one you skip past. That's the two. But because like camel, he stores 36 kilograms of extra fat he can live off for months at a time. So pretty, yeah, wow, that's funny Thomas, I like that. Chris went for Roxanne, because he almost got kicked out of his union accommodation with his mates for seeing it too loud at 3am, which is pretty well, you know, I mean, Roxanne, we've all, maybe not we've all done it, but I've certainly been drunk at a party and the song rocks and very loudly. So how could you not, how could you not? And Toby, last but not least, Toby went for messaging a bottle, which he thought was a bit vanilla, but as he works in the wine industry, he thought it worked. I'm not sure how, what the connection is there. My wine all comes in boxes, so we'll see. But no one went for my favorite police song, which is "Sums Up How I Feel" on the pod these days, which is so lonely. But anyway, enough about my depression, we'll move on to the mock draft. So Tom, who came second after fantasy, classic, no doubt, is converted to the better game playing draft, had the pick one, had the honors, I had picked two, and I'll sort of take you through my thoughts, 'cause look, I didn't get everyone to write me their thoughts on how they were going to approach the draft. It was very much, you know, we'll just see how it goes. So I haven't, I've done a few mocks, including with other people, and I've tended to have pick six, seven. I've been in the second half of the draft, which to me is a pretty easy spot to draft from, because you can generally find yourself Conor Rose, Rocky Whitfield, one of these high-end defenders, pair it with one of your top tier mids, and you kind of away. So drafting from the top end, was going to be something slightly new, something I wasn't, was maybe going to make me a little bit uncomfortable, because in the first few rounds, I tend to like things to fall to me. When you're dealing with top tier players, I don't mind picking the last guys in tears, maybe through the middle stages of draft, I don't mind forcing, or trying to force people's hands to start runs, but yeah, certainly through the early rounds, I don't mind picking back. So coming to pick two, I wasn't sure, like we're seeing in drafts, it's generally Sheezle and the Sire going off the board in the top two. So at pick two, you kind of like, well, am I going to be left with the forward? I typically don't want a draft to forward in the first round. Even a player who's fantastic is Harry Sheezle. So I think early in the draft, if you're the person who gets the Sire, it kind of makes life a little bit easier. I always want to square away a top tier defender if I can, and we'll walk you through some of my process. So Tom did kick off with Harry Sheezle. So made life very easy for me to take Wanganian Miloura instead of picking one of these forwards who might not, or one of the midfielders, I should say, but I'm not super confident about this year. I'm not super interested in taking a Ruck, particularly early with the Neurls, but one thing that hasn't been sort of spoken about, and I know it's really easy to sit here and say, oh, I'll just take a Ruck late. It's crossed my mind more and more lately that there's a world where there's a massive gap between the top rocks and the necks, right? Like if we saw Brody Groney, Tini English, Max Gaw and Dassy Cameron, or kind of out on there, or Tristan Cherry, maybe in that boat as well, but would it shock, like, I mean, the ejections should be fine, but would it shock you if these late rocks were actually kind of garbage? Like, if Toby Nank ends up in a split situation, Lloyd Meag, they're already talking up Ned Reeves, whether that's just coach speak or not, I'm not sure. Tom DeKoeing's in a time share. Riley O'Brien might not even have the gig. Jared Witt's, the dinosaur Ruck, maybe they're not as valuable with the new rules coming in. Karen Briggs, he fits that definition as well for me. Jordan, you know what I mean? Like, there could be a serious gap here. Like, it could be 30 points between the top and the top and say the eight Ruck. Like, it could be 30, 40 points. Like, that's sort of, it hasn't been, I haven't heard it, but I sort of think this possibility exists. Like, if there's a handful who are out on their own, and then, you know, a dozen teams who are running split situations, man, that could be a world of pain if you sat back in the draft. Like, I just, I just want to put it out there, want it on the record, if something could happen. Anyway, we're not worried about this because it's a fake league. So, Square away, winging in, Miller, and then look, it's a creator's draft zone, and you'll find with the creators that they're generally a little bit more comfortable taking Rucks later. So, they did slide a little bit in this draft. We had Daycoff next. We filled there with Mitch from the ballboys. Bailey Smith, Bonds from the draft Bible. Conor Rose there with George Finer's keepers. Half, now half, unfortunately, was on auto draft basically for this whole thing. I did message him, and he said he was out. He thought it would be a slow draft, and he was out to dinner with his family. And look, I understand, mate, at this point of the year, it's a very selfish time of the year. You're doing all your fantasy, you crunch in the numbers, putting out articles, putting out podcasts. So, look, I was not going to say, man, there's no hard times. It's like, this is life. You enjoy a nice meal out with your family, and that's all good. So, that's just how it worked out. That's fine. I don't even think the team's that bad. That's all fine. So, he ended up, he got auto drafted, Cherry. Then we had Gulven and Dawson go off the board to round out the first round. So, five midfielders, one rock, three defenders, and one forward, which I would say typically, you would probably see three rocks go in the first round. So, maybe a little bit unusual there. Tim English went to DC there. The start of the second round, so he started up Dawson and Tim English. What a nice way to start your draft with two genuine captain options. Jayden there, who's gone with Zack butters, so he's got Gulven and butters, then he has auto drafted, Dunkley, then Flanders before Gorn and Grundy. Then Coldwell. It's probably a bit rich for my blood, but I understand the community's hotter on him than I am. I just think that's the interesting thing with mock drafts, when people post their drafts or their pretend drafts and say, "Great it, what do you think? Ra Ra Ra." It's really strange because if you're going into a draft and you've got your players ordered, however, we're all going to have different orders. So, I can only grade it based on how I feel about the players. So, if the community loves Joy Coldwell for example, but I'm down on him, the community might think it's a better draft than I do, so I tend not to. worry as much about the players as I do the structure, maybe the value. It is still early in draft season, so ADP and all that are still working themselves out. Commissioner, so that's from the Shoeber, Nick Day, Carson, Zack Merritt, Holly Hill, double captain options there, absolutely. It comes in myself and we're in an interesting position because all my top two mids are gone or my top two rucks are gone at this point. So, in a position here, I've sort of got those forwards, a couple of those forwards. Well, I mean it's really Christian Petracher, my second tier midfielders, which you know Andy Brasewars, etc. I've got Isaac Heaney really high compared to the ADPs and probably the rest of the fantasy community. So, I sort of. I was like, well, there's heaps of these top tier defenders here still left. You've got Ash, Zorko, Sinclair, Josh Daykos, I'll know Josh Daykos isn't a top tier defender for me. So, let's take Petracher here and I was thinking Tom because he took the forward in the first round who probably take a defender here on the turn and I'll just take whatever top tier defenders left, which is kind of an interesting strategy. I've never really. I would try to take. Not that I try to force positions, but the more even your draft is, the more options you've got later. So, I don't box yourself in, but as it's a pretend draft, I took Petracher because he's sort of that last of the top three forwards, although I'm comfortable with Rankin, but a bit early for him. And I ended up. Tom ended up taking Andy Brasewars on Jack Steel, so you could argue, you know, people might be really hot on Jack Steel, whether there's a bounce back there, I think Andy Brasewars perfectly fine pick, especially after that state of origin video where all the fray boy said he was completely cut up about, I was in the table like man, this guy was going to just soak up disposals and bit of me time, that's all good. So, you went, yeah, it went double mids, which I wouldn't have predicted, but it meant all these gun defenders were still on the table for my pick. So, I ended up taking like, yeah, so I've started out defender for defender, which. So I'm left with one captain option, unless, you know, Isaac Haney goes as well as I feel like he's going to go. And it's also really boxed me into going mid mid in the next round. Now, again, I will say I feel okay in this because I said I've got Isaac Haney ranked as my eighth midfielder. So, I was sort of taking a bit of a gamble that he was going to make it back to me in the fourth and that there was going to be another midfielder like a locking meal, etc. It was going to be available to me. So, anyway, after Locky Ash went, we had a little mini run, Zorco, Sinclair, Dacos, all went, McClaugage, Welsh, Rouse, Will, Ashcroft after that. Then Colby, McCurcher, which. Interesting pick. I still can't get a read on Colby. Now we're in Anderson there on the turn as well. So, really nice start for D.C. with Dawson, English, McCurcher, and Anderson, unless you really feel like McCurcher's not a D1. Then Archie Roberts in here at the start of the second round, which I can't get around. I understand the community loves him and all that and it could be a great pick. He's certainly a ball magnet, so a couple of young defenders there and look, the sanding players, you can't deny it. Finn Callahan there, 4-3, Luke Jackson, Grine Myers, Max Hiram's, Isaac Rankin, and then Locky Neal. So, we've got my wish, Isaac Haney's come up. And again, I'm pretty aware that people aren't coming super hot on Haney. So I thought, you know what, Calves are on there. I'll nab him, thinking, you know, because Tom, like I said, is taking she's double mids. He has to take a defender, right? Has to at this point. But didn't know what the other pick would be. I'll just gamble that Haney will come back to me. So I took Sarong and then it went badly to Aldousie Cameron. And sure enough, I've got my boy Isaac there. So feeling absolutely pumped about life here, just going, yep, this draft is going really well. I've got two tier one defenders, two tier two midfielders, and however you want to rank Petracher, whether she's also in this weird tier of his own in the tier one forward. So feeling really strong about that draft, even though there's no rock, that's fine. And we'll get to the mistake in a second. So then Dylan Moore, Cosby Pickett, Jordan Clark, Rory Leard, Tim Taran, I thought actually Jordan Clark, pretty good value there. Rory Leard, Tim Taran, Nick Newman on auto draft, the FF. Sean Manor and Joshua Shelley there. So, Richelley is the nine, so nine forward off the board. I would say that's probably an aggressive pick on ADP, but if you want, you've got to go getting Ed Riches there on the turn and Sam Darcy, Tom McCarthy, Callum Mills, Call Amon, I really like Call Amon this year. So shout out there, the drop idle, I think he's just the perfect D2. Zach Bailey, then Clayton Oliver and LDU. And we can't look at my pick here, and there's a thing called the paradox of choice, right? Where sometimes more options are actually bad. So I was sitting here in my pick going, well, I'm actually in a really good spot. I've got two defenders, I could take a midfielder, but I didn't love the guys there. I sort of had these whole raft of forwards and defenders I could take. I think the defenders I was looking at. Tom Stewart was there, Redmond was there, Fletcher was there, Rivers was there. So all those sort of guys, probably T3, I'd call it maybe four. And the forwards like Simkin, Green, Cameron, Frazier, all those sort of guys there, just massive tears. The other thing that happened, someone clocked calming down as I'm going over my spreadsheets, the clock's calming down and baby Fizzborne is out. If you're a new listener, baby Fizz is nine or almost ten. And a percusious personality who demands attention. I was actually recording a pod as I was doing it, which, and if you listen to that audio, man I was absolutely fired up. It came round to me. And anyway, she's distracting me with, she needed more story time or whatever on her device. And so I got clocked out, man, I got clocked out. And if you know, if you know my thoughts on Ron Marshall this year, you'll know that I would be absolutely horrified to end up with him in my team, especially in the sixth round. Oh my God. Anyway, that happened. So we just have to live with it. And Salem and he went off after that. Salem, I'm starting to get a bit cagey about it. Little injuries can turn into niggles throughout the year, but so bad. You're a nice pick. So again, I'm sort of in this just like it's all happening. The child is demanding the attention. I just just take joy. And we'll move on and I'll go deal with that. And so I was off out of the room. And I don't know what happened in this round. And Mason Redmond, Toby Nank, John Eukam, Leder, who's apparently playing all everywhere but the midfield this year. Adam Trillaud, Jeremy Cameron, Toby Green. So Toby Green, potentially, you know, they've said these training through the midfield. The stats great over the last few years when he hit 10s 40% CDAs, they are not great. Jesus got a lot of opportunity with all these guys going down at GWS. So Toby Green certainly going to be moving up balls. That ADP is going to be climbing. Johnny Noble and Connor Mack, if you do see there, Connor Mack, dropped 110 in the practice game against Jolong. They tell me obviously he's always been a bit of a favorite of the state on myself. So it's kind of frustrating that it hasn't happened in the communities all on it at the same time. So that's tough. That's life. That's the world we live in, Tom Stewart, who I should have taken two rounds before, went there, then Darcy Parish, Hayden Young. I think that's probably the mistake. It should have been Hayden Young at one of those Marshall Simpkin picks. You can't have everyone know people, so that's fine. And we'll get to why it should have been Hayden Young in a minute or ironically, John you can Jack Graham, Rolly, Lil Thorpe, next and then talk a million at Harron Kuype. So on my spot, I'm kind of, so the Rucks taken care of, I've got two forwards now, two mids. So I really need to take another mid because this is the point where it's going to thin out really quickly. And that's why one of those round six, seven picks should have been a midfielder because once you go past Chad Warner, it's basically garbage. Well, it really is. And I say you can win with crappy mids in Aful Fantasy because these guys look big on average 85, probably giving up 10 points to the older yous the world and they went four rounds earlier. But you still got a cover injury. You still got a cover by is you still need some guys with some upside and you get through the mids and you just like these guys, they don't feel you with much confidence. Whereas, you know, you're third forwards, you're fourth forwards, you can or defenders, you can easily stream that. So the midfielder's they don't grow on trees. You do need some depth as much as it's okay to miss them early. You do have to fill them through those mids or rounds. So I end up going with Chad Warner, who definitely more of a super coach player that has got some fantasy chops to him. Matt Kennedy went there next in Jasper Fletcher. I went Joel Frazier, just trying to. I felt the team was pretty vanilla at this point. I've got to be honest, it might be safe and good. So if we look through my team here at this point, Wanganame, Milo, Patraca, Ash, Sarong and Heaney, you can be pretty sure they're all going to be good. None of them have got. I suppose you could say Patraca has some injury history, but did play last year and it wasn't, you know, when he missed all that time, it wasn't through a soft tissue, a better or worse. Then Royal Marshall obviously a bad pick, but Simkin, you know, generally pretty healthy. He's probably only an injury or two away from getting inside time again. So I went with Frazier just for a bit of an upside pick. If the card's fall that way, he's way it's going to be a good season. Nick Blakey went after that, I liked that. Crips, McInerney, Cherad, Brent Daniels, Tom Green got auto drafted there. Trent Rivers probably went pretty late. I don't know the fantasy community's hot on him, so kind of surprising. He went this late, but you know, so there you can't draft them all. Miles Bergman, then John DeGoey, Horn, Francis, Nick Martin again, auto drafted. Steve Canile, who may see a bump. Caleb Daniels probably, man, Caled Daniels probably a value pick at this point because no one wants him. The dude's going to be in the half-facolin probably much to Kangaroo fans, Chugren, but he's probably going to be fine. Harley Reed, there, Sam Banks, pretty good value on Sam Banks in the 10th round. Tom Atkins, I need a third defender at this point. I have Sam Banks in short, kind of. Yeah, I was actually hoping Caled Daniel was going to fall back to me there, but we went to Jaden Short, which it's not 2018, mate. What are you doing? Jake Sulego there in Phillipoe, pretty late on Phillipoe, maybe, good value, certainly. I went Jack McCray here, as I said, the mids. Just poor at this point. Luke Ryan, the next Charlie Kuno who's pretty late, really. I'm going to defend his McGraw-Rovitz Baker, Sicily, Josh Ward. I was actually spewing about this one. So D.C. took, I was like, man, I'm going to take Josh Ward in like the round 14. No one's going to be on him. This guy is somehow flying under the radar massively, despite the fact he was playing midfield basically all the last year for Hawthorne. We'll be in there again, no doubt this year, developing player. It's amazing to me so I've said that Josh Ward had drafted. I'm like, got down at my fucker, that was my guy. Tom DeConey there next. That was a big five round gap between Toby Nank and then Tom DeConey there as the next ruck went off the board. So if you hadn't taken one, you just didn't care. Jack Bowie, Row Bottom, Wines, Ridley, Dome, Sam Draper, if he was fit, he's probably going four rounds earlier. So probably good value. I took Jack Ross there as my fourth forward. Actually the like Ross has, I think he has some upside. Shay Bolton, Locky Schultz, I want to loss and Humphreys just, he's kind of in that D4 podge podge with like Houston's and Sicily's etc. Duggan, Kane Farrell, you're not convinced by any of them but at least a sanding player. Then Aaron Norton, Dan Houston, Winnehaeg, Duggan, Buderick, interesting pick-butterick. Hill, Warpool, Tommy Powell, Walla, Hall, Gunston, Farrell Langdon, Jagger Smith, Oscar Alan Inumann, I went to him, Kelly, because I wouldn't know. Cal Wilkie, Jared Berry and I've taken Jack up Hopper to fill out my midfield who is unconvincing his hell and then he had Lloyd Meek, Nick Bryan, Bailey Humphre, Fere, Renny, Tannabruhr, and Jake, Jared Witts, Windsor and Darsie Wilson was the last player off the board. So, you know, what could you say about the draft in general? If you take Harry Sheeze, pick one, there's every chance you'll get a half decent defender in the third round so you don't need to be too afraid about that. Those will be the guys who slip probably. I don't know that it will be Josh Dake or Sinclair. I've certainly seen these players go in the early second round. But if that happens, it's going to push a guy like Merit or whatever. You're getting John Clifes gone late in all these drafts, been really good value. Rucks, I wouldn't take too much out of it for this draft. I think rucks will go earlier in general. But, you know, there was an interesting little gap in the third round when no forwards went, whereas I sort of thought the third round might be more your rank and mayors sort of mix that everyone sort of held off until the fifth. There were certainly teams who, I mean, there were teams who didn't take a forward in the first four rounds, which was interesting. There was a few of them. They picked three, five and nine and ten. So a lot of teams just punted the forwards off. People were very comfortable to punt the mids off. We'll just run over to my team and have a look and see where we're going to have to make up over the season if this was an actual league. So the defenders, Wanganamilera, Ash, Short and Humphries. So obviously we've gone really strong at the top. Big gap to Short, who is unconvincing to me. But if he plays, he's probably fine. Lawson Humphries, whether you're playing him or hoping for a better option to emerge, it's probably going to be enough. The midfield, Sarong, he, Warner, McCray, Hopper, the big problem with this midfield is there's no captain option. That's the killer. Obviously the Ruck in Marshall. I'll explain what happened. So that's how that is. Hopefully he picks up forward status. And the forward line, Petraca, Simkin, Frazier, Ross, to me, that's kind of a perfect forward line. To draw flu, you've got a guy you don't have to worry about. You can probably don't have to worry about. Frazier has the upside, Ross, to me, has upside. They're all best 22 players. So I would make the argument that's actually the strongest line despite the defense. So the midfield is it going to be enough to carry the team? I guess you'd have to find the season to find out. Anyway, we'll get into the Twitter questions and see what we can come up with there. I've got to find them first. I've been tweeting a little bit lately. So I'm not sure where we're at. Here we are. And the coaches panel are doing a live show in Melbourne. So you know, support the boys. I think that's really cool doing a live show down in Melbourne. I think it's on the eighth because I've got the tournament at work. So I can't get down for it. Of course, the traders are heading back to Adelaide and Perth. Support the live shows. It's a cool thing to do. Obviously, I'm doing the X stand up in poetry and all that sort of stuff. It's good. It's good to perform and all that sort of stuff in front of the live crowd. James, you typically punt Rucks in 10 team formats. What about in a 14 team league? I'm not even sure there are 14 Rucks worth picking. So how would that change your strategy? 3413 or team structure. Yeah, certainly much more comfortable taking a Ruck, especially in that 3413 setup. As I was sort of saying, it's occurring to me more and more that these top rocks might actually stand out more than your typical 20 points. It might be a 30 point buffer. So I'm certainly comfortable doing that. So I want to force the issue. No, if you're in the back, sorry, I should say, if you're in the middle of the first round to the back of the first round, I'm pretty comfortable. Probably don't want to do it at the start, but you also have to be comfortable missing. So especially in a 14 team league, you can't draft every position. You would probably need to make peace with missing one of them, whether that's the forwards. That's going to be up to you. I certainly wouldn't want to miss that. I mean, could you miss that top tier defender and hope? Jordan Clark bounces back. Could you hope? Rory Leard bounces back something like that. Maybe. Yeah, certainly a bit more comfortable. But to be honest, I probably don't punt Rucks as much as I used to. Pack and Sand has been talk of the type of Ruck mid and even defender the new rules impact on. Forward of the 40 IE, not your DPP. forward's mids. How do you see the impact and what type does it suit? So it's a really nice question, actually, because it's something I think about. And it's part of the reason I pushed. And I'm not going to say I pushed them up massively, but like a Jack waterman got a little bit of a bump up like the lead up forwards. I would imagine if you can, if there's fast ball movement and your quick off the lead or quick off the mark and you can take that out in front. So maybe you can take a speculative on, uh, look, oh, so like in a deep league, maybe you want to take that Jamara. And he's going to play, you know, that 40, that 80 meters out from goal, I guess. Maybe leading out to the wings. I don't know. That's, that's just my guess. Um, it's a good question. Team seem to be really embracing the chaos. Just move it on at all costs. So the forwards who can tackle like your Paul Curtis, you know, they're obviously going to be good. But to me, it's such a hard way to make living. You really have to be able to get out on the lead and tackle if you're that sort of player because you're living in that 12, 13 disposal range. So you're going to have to be making it up with those and silery stats. Ninja Spoon after the mock draft, you still seeing a positive EV to go mid mid early versus zero mids in the first two rounds. Um, look, I, I'd have to be honest. I try to go to defend the mid as a general. Super coach is a little bit different. You can probably pump up mids a little bit there. You can probably pump up your rucks a little bit in that format. I have a fantasy. Uh, I'm, you know, I mean, you got to, I wouldn't say force it. Like, let's have a look at how the mid mid teams went. So, um, the DT shiver, Nick Daycos mirror still ended up with Zorco and Dylan more is the D1 and F1, which you can live with. Absolutely. And Redmond, there's fine. Um, especially at the back end of the first, like, I mean, I shouldn't say especially bit. If you can square away two captain options, that, that's probably where you want to get the double mid. I guess you'd say like, you've got to make sure they're going to be captainable. Um, we got, there was only two teams who did it. So, Gordon and Budders is the other. Uh, Gordon, probably captainable. I know the community is really hot on Budders. They love the player. Uh, is he captainable, you know, time will tell. Time will tell. I mean, would Grumpy, if you wanted a captainable player was Grumpy a better pick there. Maybe potentially. I'm just asking questions here, people. Uh, so I think you have to do anything, um, by the books, it's, it's, it's going to be such an interesting year. Drafts are going to be all over the shop because you might think the rules of effects, certain players, you might not think they effects. So we're all going to have different opinions, which to me, that's what makes it good. If you, and then at the end of the season go, well, shit, my opinion was right. My opinion was wrong. I'll adjust for next year. Greg, what points difference is too much? And considering overlooking an injury prone better player versus a safer, but lower ceiling guy. So I guess you're talking about how to rank them in tears. So, um, as I sort of, I've tried to go through my, my process, um, through the preseason in terms of like, uh, I'll have little boxes to check in terms of what's role in your history, season, et cetera, et cetera. But I like to work in blocks of 10, which might be a little bit simplistic, but I always say that one 10 should be the theoretical limit of what you can produce on a fantasy, week, week, you know, basis. I know people have scored 120 in the past over seasons and that, but I think 110 is the, sort of limit of what's repeatable. So I'll start from 110 to 100, um, and just sort of work the only blocks like that. But where it, you're going to have to make these judgments on your own draft and you might have a very different risk tolerance to me is when you're getting through those middle rounds, did I draft, um, you know, wang and emilera or who's, well, go through the mids who might be a little bit more questionable. Um, like Will Ashcroft is he definitely going to break out, you know, is that, that's a risk to me. Um, Sam Walsh has a pretty checkered injury history, but he's having a nice preseason by all reports. Um, so do you want to take on the risk of him versus say, Zach Merritt, they send to be, well, I've got the next to butters. So does the upside of Sam Walsh and he's 105 plus past outweigh that risk, where is, you know, Zach Bout has really hasn't had that big season yet that we might think he's capable of, but hasn't happened. Um, those are the thing, you have to weigh that. That's, that's not for me to say. Um, I, what's the limit? What's the ceiling? Like I said, I try to work in 10 point blocks. So um, Bailey Smith's probably an interesting, I think Bailey Smith has a bigger injury history than people might suggest. So whilst he was the top scorer, I've got Nick Daykos at number one. So now Nick Daykos absolutely could just outperform him anyway. Um, but Bailey Smith's potential eight, ten point, uh, what is coming into the season with based on last year's averages, to me, that's not worth the risk. So yeah, that's sort of my personal, personal thoughts on that. But it depends on what your team looks like, man, last year's average is the last year's average is they're not going to get I repeat unless you call him and uh, Ron Mexico, who gets the biggest, I really try to take points out of it, I guess is what I would say. Like last year's points, don't matter. Ron Mexico, who gets the biggest jump from Tom Green injury? It's a very good question. It's probably someone who didn't have the role. So if we assume it was Tom Green, Clayton Oliver and, um, Finn Callahan in the midfield, who was the fourth, fifth pegs? Was it Steve Kennedy? I was at one of these guys like James Lake. Um, I will say if you look at Clayton Oliver stats and Tom Green stats, they do very similar things, uh, well, Clayton Oliver, far better, lays far more tackles across his career than Tom Green does. So I would imagine it's probably Clayton Oliver, um, and whoever inherits that fourth spot. Now, we could throw out half a dozen names, put the best thing through, we'll just be to watch that first, um, practice match. Benny is can you really worth considering with the Green injury 16 team? SC, absolutely in 16 team for sure. I mean, you're not going to go early on him, but, um, see if you can pick out any news, JBLS pretty tough team to pick out news from. Uh, Gun to your head, Rosie or with your knee, Rosie, easy. Mitch got peak two in a 16 team league. Format is very deep. 4, 5, 1, 4, 5, 19 aside. Can you please recommend a strategy? I think I have to take a rock at peak two. By the time my second rock at peak 31 rolls around, fair chance, all the good rocks are gone. Any thoughts on deep performance? Appreciate it. Yeah, so in a 16 team league, I absolutely I can get behind that. Um, yeah, I'd, you know, Grundy probably might, I think Grundy's my R1. That's, that's me. You can have whoever you want. Um, yes, 16 team leagues, Jesus Christ. Can you imagine having a 70 point scoring, hopefully something rolling out there? Uh, I can get behind it. Depends how comfortable you are with guys like Toby Nank, Luke Jackson, you know, if everyone pairs up, everyone's going to want that rock. So the rocks will push the other players down as well. You got to sort of remember that like by the time you get to pick 31, how many rocks are gone? Eight. Right? So it pushes all those other players down. So you're probably still enough with a, um, a decent defender and probably, you know, you'll definitely have handy and valuable to you. I don't understand it, man. So yeah, that'll, um, yeah, you're just going to have to be comfortable in that sort of a league having a, a shit ass for the line. But that's okay, man. That's okay. You can make that work.
