Thank you to Quince for sponsoring this portion of today's episode. Let me tell you the seasons are changing. It's starting to be time that we can get out our denims again. We can get out our sweaters and there is no better place than Quince. So many of the things I'm constantly reaching for in my closet to layer up, dress up, dress down, come from Quince because they have very, very high quality products. I'm talking 100% Mongolian cashmere. They have silk organic cotton wool. They have those premium fabrics, but at an amazing price. Everything at Quince is actually priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands and that is because they work directly with ethical factories, hunting out the middle man. So you're paying for high quality, not brand markup. Actually just last night, Matt was telling me that he grabbed his shorts. I don't fit my clothes. I've been hitting the gym and so I need new clothes. He bought me Quince swim trunks that are really high quality. I wear them all the time when we go on the pool with the boys. I'm excited to see what she picks out from Quince for me next. You're nice khaki shorts are from Quince. Wait, the khaki that I wear like literally every day. Yep. Those are from Quince. You don't even know where your clothes are from, but if you had to guess, they're probably from Quince because I love shopping their min section as well for Matt. You can wear them in many different ways for many different seasons. Find your next fall favorites at Quince. Download the Quince app for app exclusive offers or go to Quince.com. Get free shipping on your order and 365 day returns now available in Canada and the UK too. And when Quince asks you where you heard about them, let them know that unplanned sent you. It's the best way to support the show. You never cuss on the podcast, but you cuss in real life. I was going to say something but that's too far. Yeah, you know what I'm thinking of. In the bedroom. Oh my gosh. You guys didn't actually wait for marriage. You didn't answer that or me. Okay, great. Well, actually don't answer. Oh gosh. You guys are soulmates from previous lives. I just don't believe in soulmates honestly. Wow, you said that so fast. You all have sex everyday. We're getting into it. I don't want my parents to listen to this. What's up, dude? And welcome back to the Umbra. I like this filming in the morning. I feel like a little bit more alive afternoon. I'm like, yeah, our kids are with grandma so we can have some alone time to ourselves with all of you watching us. Anyway, anyway, we're having a great time, guys. We weren't a little disappointed. We looked at our analytics and apparently 63.8 percent of you aren't subscribed. They're watching the videos. So that hurt my feelings. I'm not going to lie. I was a little hurt by that. Don't take it personally. Maybe they just don't have a YouTube account. No, they have a YouTube account. Everybody has a YouTube account. No, for a while, I had favorite YouTubers and I was like, man, I just wish I could help them out, but I don't have an account. You can't subscribe if you don't have an account. Didn't you think that it cost to some time a long time ago? But that's what good news guys. It's free. So I would just encourage you to quickly make an account. Subscribe to us, share it, give it a star. If you don't like it, you shouldn't share it. Why would you share a podcast if you don't like it? No, if they don't like it, they're probably not here. Let's hope. I mean, gosh, don't torture yourself. If you're watching this, because you don't like this, that is some commitment. I wanted to bring up our fight last night. What's happening? Being a couple of goals. I'll be honest. I don't remember what the fight was about. I would only bring it up if it wasn't like a huge deal, but we resolved it. Walk me through what happened. I don't remember. I don't remember. Okay, well, I was really locked in on beef games episode five. Oh, and you were getting frustrated because our kids were running around and circled. No, no, no, no, no. They were being very loud. And I was like, babe, we could just put them to bed and then we can watch these games in peace. I thought they would like to watch these games, but they really are way too young for that. I think a two or three year old one watch these games. I'll be sometimes like sit. But anyway, no, this is after the kids were asleep. I got the those distractions to bed. Okay. And then you are sitting next to me, and you're not paying attention to all this show. And you turn to me and you're showing me your friend, like, I can't believe it. And then you start talking. And I was like, just trying to find the remote so quick because I hate to miss any second of really any show I'm watching, but especially these games. I wanted to show Abby something on my phone. And then I was really excited about it. And I was like, babe, look at this. And you just, it was like the pinnacle moment of this episode. And you're like, I mean, I'm like, just wait. I was just trying to find the remote so I could pause it. I was willing to stop everything and give you all my attention, even in the most pencil moment. And it just really rubbed you the wrong way. Let's be honest, babe, this was halfway into the episode. And there wasn't really anything pinnacle going. And you weren't paying attention. So if you have no clue, it was a really big deal. I'm sorry. Who's going to take care of our children with their spray-to-ground or living room? They were asleep. Oh, they were asleep. They were asleep. Anyway, anyway, anyway, you're right. I just looked at him. Yeah. Listen, listen, read my lips, baby. You're right. I'm wrong. I love you. I love you. You're my writer. I'm your writer. You're wrong about this, by the way. And then he's like, okay. And then he walked away. And then he just came back and he's like, I'm actually sorry. I was wrong. But today's episode we're addressing your assumptions about us. But we're going to start off by reading a review from someone who left this on Apple Podcast. Thank you guys for leaving us reviews. Yeah. Quick thing. If you're not already following us at unplanned_podcast on Instagram, I would love for you to follow us. And we love hearing from you guys. And speaking of hearing from you guys, thank you to @EverythingUnderscoreAra. She says, or he actually don't know, they say. That's probably a woman. Let's be honest. 90% of our viewers are people. Yeah, that's why I assumed. But I should never assume. You know what they say. That makes an ass of you and me. Oh gosh. When you learned that from your grandma. Yes, I did. So it's okay to say. Love this episode. Love y'all's episode. You are very open and honest and vulnerable. And it truly feels so real and genuine. Thank you for being friends that I get to chat with each week. I look forward to Wednesday and now Friday's so much more because of unplanned. Wait, that's so cool that she's tuning into always here as well. So sweet. Thank you for watching both of our podcasts. That means a lot. Gosh, we really don't take it lightly. So thank you so much to all of you that have left review or rated us or just follow us. It really, really is so special. It's not something we take lightly. Not at all. All right. Well, baby without further ado, let's get into addressing assumptions that our followers have about us. This is spooky. Why are we doing this? I'm actually pretty excited. I don't know any of these, but I feel like I could probably guess a couple of them. Okay. The first one. I don't know what that means, but I'm ready. Yeah, but hopefully those didn't make the list. Number one, you guys didn't actually wait for marriage. Wow. Wow. You've seen this. Gosh, our grandma listened to this. Guys, we're seriously going to ask these questions. Why does he? Okay. Yeah. Bring this up again. Oh my gosh. Do you want to answer that or me? You want me to answer it? Okay. Great. Well, actually don't answer it. Oh gosh. What? What? Yeah, but you answer it then. No, you answered it. Basically, we did not do it till marriage, but we did other things because we were so into each other right now. Are you going to do that? I'm like, that was literally so much TMI. We've talked about that so many times before. I can't believe people are asking that. We weren't perfect dangles, but we really did. And guess what? And guess what nobody is. If you actually talk to people who are like, yeah, talk to them and then they'll probably say the same thing. No, I'm serious. Some people, some people save kissing for marriage, and you know what? That's amazing for them. But that I, I actually like you, so I want to kiss you. I would say we tried our best, but we really did actually technically wait. Yes, we did. Yes, we did. Okay. If we're, if we're getting into technicalities. And I would recommend that for everyone I really would. Number two, you never cuss on the podcast, but you cuss in real life. Wait a minute. I just said ask though. And you know what? Our grandma says it's in the Bible. So that's what she says. That's what Abby's grandma says is that the grandma said that? I think maybe both of our grandma say that asses in the Bible. So it's okay. So we can say ask on this podcast. We definitely try to not to, especially on the kids. Yeah, definitely not around the kids. It's funny though. Like just in the past couple of months, I've started, I've started to curse. I feel like I'm, I'm becoming an adult. Yeah, it's giving me the egg. I gotta be so honest with you. And you know what? You are okay. You were valid in feeling that way. That is okay. Like you say it sometimes. I really told you this last night. I was like, that doesn't sound pleasant. I was just basically, but that's too far. But like, yeah, you know what I was thinking of. You know what I was thinking of. In the better way. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. And the episode right now. Oh my gosh. We can cut that. We can cut that. That has to say that's so funny. I'm actually really sweating. I can't breathe. Okay. Okay. Next assumption. We're moving right along. That's so bad. What? Sorry. Mute it. Mute it. All right. Okay. The assumption number three. Okay. Matt loves Abby way more than she loves her. Agreed. I gotta be honest with you. It's true. He's obsessed with me. Wait. And you know, I'm just kidding. No, it's true. I believe that's true. You really believe that's true? Yeah. Of course. You believe that you love me more than I love you. Yes. Now in the past, could you have argued you maybe, but I feel like I love you more now. Actually, yeah, I would agree with that. No, I feel very loved by you. But you think you love me more than I love you. I love for you is like steady. Like it's like bedrock. It's like foundation. And you are like a puppy dog like in love. You know what I mean? Or it's just like it's just more obvious. It's a ton at once and then it like slows down. And then it hits again. It's like it's like these waves of like puppy dog crack heads parts of energy. Yeah, but it's never like a puppy dog's never like upset with you. Never like you never question whether or not puppy dog loves you. Yeah. Sometimes it's just really intense. Yeah. And some it's just more obvious. I'm obsessed with you. I'm like bedrock. I'm freaking obsessed with you. Thank you. I love you a lot. I love you too, baby. Okay. Wow. Guys, who made this list? Hey, we have a producer now that compiled these. So thank you. Shout out to Emma for compiling this list. It feels like it's also you guys all submitted these on my Instagram. Yeah. So thank you to everyone to that like did this on Instagram. Yeah. This one says y'all have sex every day. - Wow, we really are, we're getting into it. - I don't want my parents to listen to this. - Yeah, I don't think your parents listen to our podcast though. - That would be great. I don't think they do. - Good, your parents do. - My parents definitely do. They're crazy, so I'm okay with them knowing we're crazy. - Okay, yeah. - This is weird now, so let's save that one for later. Let's come back to it. I can't answer that one. It's too early for that. Guys, it's 9.30, okay? We just woke up. Number five, you guys poop with a door open. - We do, actually. You know, you don't, I do, you don't. Well, no, now we both poop with a door closed. Wait, we both, it's evolved over time. We both poop with a door closed now. We used to poop with a door open, but then we're like, guys, that's smelly. Why would we have the door open? - I don't think we have like a strict one. I feel like sometimes I was just close. - Yeah, that's. - If we're going anywhere other than our bedroom though, then the door is certainly closed. - Is it clear that I haven't taken my ADHD medicine today? - I assume you just got rid of that. - I actually have a refill that I've been meaning to pick up from the pharmacy. - Yeah, see, that's what I hope. - So, I need to go do that. - Okay, here's the next assumption. You guys are mad rich like billionaires. - Oh my gosh. - No, we are, we have a lot of fun. - Well, we're well, okay, how do we answer it? We're not billionaires. - There's not billionaires, but God, we're in a season of blessing. - Did you know that when we went to Tony Robbins, he's one of 3000 billionaires in the world. - Oh yeah, there's people that are richer than us. - Oh yeah, but I was just like, I didn't realize how few, so I just thought that was really cool. I was so nervous to interview. Anyway, back to being rich, you guys made us rich. Can we just be honest with that? Like, this wouldn't have ever happened without the dudes. - We have definitely, I mean, I don't think, I mean, okay, the word rich has seriously bad connotation and honestly, even growing up, I didn't like that word at all and I didn't really, like, people that I titled that way. But we are in a, we're making more money than I ever thought we would ever make. - 100%. I think the crazy thing too is we started this, hoping for it just to be maybe some side money, maybe. I grew up making videos for every school project because if I needed to do a presentation or a speech, there was this rule that you can make a video instead and I just honestly enjoyed making videos. I would do that for every school project, worked on the high school TV crew and then when Abby told me that people were vlogging on the internet and it became their job, I was like, even if I can make like 500 bucks a month doing this on the side, that would be the sickest thing to be paid for making videos. And so, started it up, it didn't work at first. I got super disappointed. I was super frustrated because I'd post every week, working 40 hours a week and then it just didn't work and then eventually it did work. So anyway, long story short, we started off in low income housing when we started the YouTube channel in 2019 and now we're obviously not in low income housing anymore. So, that's all because of you guys and your supports here so you couldn't have done it without you guys. - Well, and your hard work too. Something we're very grateful for every single day and also it's a very big responsibility that we are generous with it and do our money well. Anyway, that was a long-winded answer. We're not billionaires and actually I will say, like we are doing very well, but the estimations if you were to Google it are incorrect. I can just tell you that for a fact. - Yeah. - If you were to Google our network, it is not right. - But that's fine. I mean, heck, I'll never forget the day that my pop-off who has since passed. - That was funny. - Yes. - We googled our networks when we were at their house and he was like, "Happy." Whoa. And I was like, "Pop-off?" That ain't right. You can't leave everything on the internet. He didn't know that. - And you can't blame the people that calculated that figure because they went off of our total YouTube views times a like $8 CPM which is-- - I feel like someone wanted to pull it out of there. - Which is $8 per thousand. Yeah, eight bucks per thousand views. But if you do the math, that makes us like worth something crazy. However, we never made that money because like 99% of our views on YouTube are from YouTube shorts. We had a lot of shorts to a viral. We have a lot of viewers on short form content. And if we only had it ever relied on long form content, our views would be literally like 99% lower. - Even if that was all accurate though, they would still have no way of figuring that out. - I know. It actually makes me think about like celebrities when you look at their network. - I don't believe it. - I don't think it's true. I think it's all-- - It could be way higher or way lower. - It's all smoking mirrors. - And that was a very long answer. I feel like money is very taboo. But I also just want to be real like-- - I know, yeah. - You look at each other at the end of every day. And we're just like-- - We feel so grateful. - I always just feel like-- - Yeah, no, seriously. - Next one, Abby makes Matt get pedicures. - Oh my gosh. - Why have you seen his toes today? - My toes. - Looks like they've been pedicured. - Yeah, I actually, hey, speaking of my toes guys, I wore shoes for today's episode. So you don't have to look at my toes. When I look at my toes, hey, if you're in the feet-picks, look at last episode, just my feet, my dogs were out. - You were out? - They were out. Remember that? - Oh yeah, but I put them away. - Yeah, last time. - I don't make you get pedicures. You probably could stand to get them. - Probably. - I personally don't care what your toes look like. - My heel are kind of nasty. I'm getting that old man heel. - Yeah, already. - What is that? - I think it's fungus. - Gosh, do I need to get athletes but spray my dad used to have that at our place? He would have to spray, it's like an orange bottle and you should spray it on your-- - My gosh, you're already there. - I'm already there. - We're already there. - Exposing my father. - He's in a disown me. - Thank you to Element for sponsoring this portion of today's episode. If for any reason you're not satisfied, they'll take care of you. - This one is hilarious. Abby reads books and Matt reads reels. - Read reels? Like Instagram reels? - Yeah. (laughing) - I like it though. - Sometimes, honestly. Actually, what I do is I'll listen to audio books. - Okay, but most of the nights, I'll be in a book. - Can I tell you honestly, like what did I do last night? You want to tell them? - You're playing Minecraft. - With my brother, with me and my brother. - You just told me to say it and then you had all the things it. - Because it sounds lame, okay? - It is lame. - And then when he had to get off for work and then it was still like 10, 30 and I'm like, dude, kids don't wake up till 8, or no, 7, 30. 7, 30, 7, 30, okay. Anyway, I kept playing Minecraft and I was listening to a finance audio book, which is so much fun to listen to a book while you play a video game, it's so relaxing. Actually, it's over-simulating, but I love that. - I'm happy for you. - Thank you. - No, Matt, doesn't read books. - No, I do, I just read the wedding people. That was a really good deal. - Do you like two months, my guy? - You did read it. - I'm finishing up, I read Doon this past year, guys. I'm reading Doon Messiah, that's really good. I reread all the Hunger Games. - It's called Messiah? - Doon Messiah, yeah. It's like, it's like, extremely far in the future. It's like Star Wars, but way more deep. A lot more lore. - Exactly, I feel blasphemous. - I think it has parallels to our modern society, but it's like just to make you think of stuff, but it's. - Interesting. - Yeah, I mean, anyway. Yeah. - You read a little bit. - Timothy Chalamet. - Timothy Chalamet is in the new Doon movies, and those are really good. - And he's great, and I think him and Kylie are a cute couple. - We should have him on the podcast. (laughing) - They would never come on. - Okay, this one says, "Avi always gets what she wants." - Yeah, she does. (laughing) - I can't disagree, but I would like to think that we compromise a lot. - I do think we compromise a lot. That's what marriage is about. - Can I get myself a little credit right here? Because I do get my one, but I also pick my battles. - Yes, and I will say-- - I certainly pick my battles. - I will say, you did make the decision that we are moving two times a row, but-- - And I'll never hear you do that. - But what I do wanna say is, our new house is great. - Yeah, I'll give you that, Matt. I do feel like I get what I want. But I do think I pick my battles wisely. - Yeah, yeah. I love you. - I love you. - I'm happier my wife. - Abby secretly runs marathons. Where did that one even come from? - I think they just think that you're crazy fit, which is true. Abby is extremely fit, and she goes to burn boot camp, which is, it's like women's crossfit, and it's really freaking hard. There's videos of me on the internet trying to do a burn workout, and I'm like dying. - Yeah, that's so hard. - That's not running marathons. And just to put things, I'm flattered. I'm very flattered, but just to put things in all the perspective here, I did the turkey trot, this past Thanksgiving. - Oh yeah, we ran, that was kinda fun running that together. - Let me just tell you, three miles was like plenty. I think I will go into running when I'm like older, but now is not my time. Next, it says, Matt is the fun parent, and Abby is the disciplinarian. - Gosh. I kind of think that's a little bit more true though really? I don't know I felt we could be both any what do you think? You discipline I'm the fun one. Yeah, I guess I am the fun one But I feel like I do this I feel bad when I discipline them. That's the problem. That's why she doesn't do it I don't like doing the discipline, but I do discipline them. I feel like I'm being mean if I discipline them I know I don't want to be the mean guy. I know me too But I'm also like we're raising boys. Yeah, they have to become men We talk about we tell them all the time. I'm like, why do we have rules in our household? And I was like because we're growing you guys are gonna grow up to be or no No, I say because becoming a good young man starts now I don't want to think you're really good mom. Thank you. You're like the best of the best. Yeah, thank you You're definitely the fun parent and so but I do always want them to know that we have rules and we have Expectations for a purpose. It's not because we're trying to be mean. It's not because we don't want them to have fun It's because they're gonna become a good young man. That's right. Next one. So yeah, that one was honestly pretty accurate Matt has more social bandwidth, but also more social anxiety than Abby Honestly, it might be true. There's been quite a few podcasts where like we'll interview someone and Abby's like I cannot Talk to someone for an hour and I'm like babe like I'm fired up like let's go do another like I feel I'm feeling so I don't know. I think I'm an ambivert I learned that from Vanessa Van Edward who we had on the podcast and Essentially an ambivert is a mixture of it of an extrovert and an introvert So I think there's times where I enjoy being by myself and like listening to an audiobook play Minecraft and there's also times where I want to be Extremely social. So yeah, I think I'm like most people I do want to call out. I don't think you have more social bandwidth than me. You are more so you plan all the social events I'm like the one that I have bandwidth is like how long I can socialize. Oh, I see I show up. I don't know if this relates to it Yeah, I always show up. Yeah, but I will say like there's a lot of times to people worse. Sometimes you'll just Disappeared. Yeah, maybe you do actually you do Yeah, where did you go Matthew James? Abby's great. Abby. Abby's in a really good. No, it's not it's not better or worse You host the best parties. Abby's throw. Abby's having people over at our house like multiple times per week This one says you guys overthink. I definitely do. Yeah, that's something that I've always struggled with my entire life But I love I love how quick you make decisions. I'm very inspired by your confidence like you just you Have such confidence and you can command a room. Oh, you can walk in any way No, you can walk into any room and you can make every yeah, well you just make people feel like you're like the you're like the Fun person to have around because you're you're just 100% yourself and you Aren't very insecure, but then you're like you're kind and you're always thinking about other people I think you overthink, but it's because you know why do I really care? I really care actually. Yeah, that's a good That's I really really care. Um, do you think I ever think I don't think you do. I don't think that's when you do Also the imposter syndrome thing. I thought that was funny because I feel imposter syndrome But then something you told me once we can have that out if you don't want it But we would remind me what imposter syndrome is. Yeah, we can cut this out if you don't like it But basically imposter syndrome is where you feel like you're an imposter like Sometimes we'll be at these event or okay. Here's a perfect perfect example We're about to sit down and interview Tony Robbins who has and he's been a consultant for Kings, Queens, Presidents Like we're talking Princess Diana Nelson Mandela Bill Clinton Tony Robbins is a very very Powerful influential man. I am crapping my pants into this interview Abby sits down like she owns the room like you you were not, but you were not but it was so good like you just are so You're not phased is it delusional? I don't know what it is Let me tell you what I'm so like inspired honestly by that. I just fully believe a person is a person I really don't want you to think that like I don't respect and like on or the world They do and I just think everyone's person. Yeah, you know, I mean that sounds dumb to say, but like you know That's good. I think that's really good and I think it's good to have that mentality of like we're all just people It doesn't matter if you're an unhoused person or a freaking billionaire. You're just a person This one is honestly along some of the same lines. It says match struggles with comparison more than he admits I feel like you admitted a lot man We're getting into my in my light show. I just caught my my diary and just read it to you guys no You need a journal warn. I do I've started journaling. That's been great I actually the journaling journaling is so healthy like it's so good. Just get your ideas Been doing it more, but yeah, I would I would agree with that Abby has to keep Matt in line if he gets too hyper or off track when trying to focus Yeah, it's kind of a given. Yeah Shemini Matt would thrive You just say jimmy. Yeah, can you explain? I don't know what that means Jimmie who taught you that? Jimmie, I don't know that has to be Terry does Laura, but he does well I've never in my life hurts when say that other than you happy. That's straight from your grandparents You spend so much time with jimmy crickets jimmy Oh my gosh You're right. No one does say that. Why do I say nobody says jimmy, damn it. Oh, yeah That would thrive in a normal 9-5 more than people expect That is not true No, I think that would be my kryptonite like I love that with what we do you guys we can like create Stuff out of thin air like it's like we want to film a Logumentary of going to Europe with our family and we can and actually I want to do that I think it'd be actually really I feel like I just feel like routine makes you feel dead inside Yeah, no, that's actually part. Yes. Yes, that's it like it takes all the fun and spontaneity out of life I just want to live on the edge Which it's a that's like probably one of the biggest perks of what we do is that you have that like Flexibility, but then I'm over here trying to create routine out of a very normal team job I don't like the routine but routine makes me feel alive. I can have that boring, but actually I can have routine I also love it when we can try to like Make videos on our YouTube channel that like we can have fun and our audience can have fun too Like when we go to Disney with our family that's so much fun But I haven't been able to figure out how to make those videos like more like entertaining Because it's just well, we also just it's like we're going for us. We want it to be fun. Yeah So it's like I'm still I don't want the kids to think that we're taking them to Disney to make a video exactly So I'm like I'm still trying to figure out how to find the person perfect fusion of like what our viewers want to watch and then something that we can Authentically enjoy yeah, so that's the struggle But like we're like we're not really gonna make that sacrifice exactly. So we put our we put our family first But I yeah, I like I hate routine. This one says you actually hate doing social media. Oh, man Actually love this. I really really love this. Yeah, I certainly don't hate it either been loving making videos since I was 12 I mean, I think that social media has been such a blessing like two our lives seriously. Oh, yeah Very very very grateful. Oh, yeah, and grateful to you guys because you're the reason we get to do this You don't always agree with how much you share online. Ooh, I would disagree with that I feel like we're pretty aligned. This wouldn't have lasted as long as it has if that was like a point of contention for us Yeah, that's not to say there's not a lot of like conversations about it totally But I feel like we both really respect it's like if I don't want to share it then yeah There's no pushback from you and then if you don't want to share it's the no pushback for me the biggest shift We ever had with that was three. Oh, wow That was we're coming up on three years ago Griffin was just a couple months old and I came to Abby and I was like oh, yeah, I was like babe I think we should stop showing your show our kids faces online And she's like she's like that seems a bit extreme like why like that kind of like we just had it our kid was a couple months old And I was like no, I think we should I think it like I think we need to like really make sure we're taking You maybe it's an extreme move, but I was like let's make sure we're always putting our kids first Mm-hmm, and you're like all right, and then we just stop showing Griffin's face We'll show their profile sometimes. We'll show the back of their heads mainly, but it's like we just don't want Them to be like we're okay with us having a pair of social relationships with people. We don't want our kids having that Yeah, well, there's so many reasons for that one. Yeah, that's one of many reasons. Yeah, you could yeah One of many many reasons, but yeah, that's a good call out like yeah, you're like I don't feel kind of listen. I was like oh, and then I was like oh, yeah good shout. Yeah, and we are aligned It was just like it was like a very simple conversation aligned But other than that like there's never been anything that we needed to really find alignment I mean we find we run videos by each other if there's something that we're like oh, this is kind of Personal to Abby or personal to Matt will be like hey. How do you are you comfortable with this? We don't need to we can cut this out of the video Or even if it's like I'm making something vulnerable. I'm like hey double check here Yeah, this isn't too much exactly. So I think that's really good because I trust you a lot. Yeah This one says Matt reads comments way longer than Abby does I do I actually if you see people reply to you in the comments It's probably me Do you really it's mainly me that does the comments, right? Oh my Instagram. Oh, okay So if you do Abby's Instagram that's Abby responding to comments on tick-tock in YouTube Yeah, if anything just says Abby then it's me. Yeah, and then for Matt and Abby on tick-tock in YouTube That's me talking this one says you've changed opinions just to avoid getting clipped out of context Oh, dang. I would disagree with that. I think I think that we still straight stay true to ourselves We might just be a little bit careful sometimes of talking about certain topics just because we know How easy it is to clip something and how easy things can be taken out of context online Also too when we've had videos go viral for the wrong reasons It usually was just because like I approved it and didn't run it by a female who would have just been like Matt You're an idiot. This is like The dumbest clip you could post. (laughs) - Who else are way better at like hearing things? - Right, I'm dumb, let's be honest. - You're not dumb. - In certain areas, you can agree with that. Come on, yeah you can, I'm stupid as well. - You're, no, no, no, no, I would use the word naive. - Nive, that's better. That's the nice way of saying it. (laughs) - I haven't changed my opinion, but I think we are more cautious about. - Yeah. - We're way more careful. - Yeah. (laughs) - Probably still not careful enough, gosh dang it. - Yeah, we're talking about our sex life on the internet. - Yeah, that was stupid, are we? - That was, gosh. If someone's just like leaving tons of hate, comments will block them. It's like, you're not welcome here. - We don't know someone in real life. - But yeah, there's never been a mute or block. - In real life? - No. - No. - I or real? - I feel like there was one point where I was like, I might need to block my mom if we're like talking about something. - Oh my gosh, about sex. - Yeah. - But honestly, I think she just learned how to- - Why is it, I guess it's just your audience dictates what you say so much, right? 'Cause like if you're from, if you're around your girlfriends or if you're a dude and you're on your bros, you can talk about sex. You can talk about things that are appropriate in that context, but you're not gonna talk about the same things like with your grandma or your parents. - I'm gonna tell you, no one is currently blocked that I know personally in real life. - Maybe that's why it feels more comfortable with me. - It hasn't been. - Kat. We don't talk about sex with my parents, but it's been brought up. And for my parents, it's not as weird because my parents actually had to talk with me when I was a kid to explain what that was. - We've also cracked and, we have parents have. - Oh, we've cracked into it with your parents. - Yeah. - Okay, but it makes your mama comfortable. - Yeah, it does. So I try not to that much, but she's just more reserved. - No, I would say just more polite. She's more private. That is exactly what it is. Okay, Matt thinks Abby could run the entire business without him. - Oh. - Where did you get that impression? - This is crazy. I think she's the more, I think she's the talent. - Stop it. I could not run this without you. - I'm like, you know what? - Do you know what the first thing people say to me if they recognize me in public is? Oh my gosh, hi, where's your wife? - No, they do not say that. - No, people get a picture with me when I'm not with you. They'll be like, can I get a picture with Abby? And I'm like, oh, she's not here. I'm like, you're sidekick. - No, when I see people, people are like, you're Matt and Abby, to me as an individual. - That's so funny. That's so funny. - So I think it goes both ways, but I certainly could not do this by myself and Matt knows it. He's Matt and I have made it. - I couldn't do it without Abby. - Stop, that's not true. - We're a power couple. I love you. Couldn't do it without you, baby. - I love you. - This one says, since getting more public backlash, you are more cautious with what you say and how you appear, airing on the side of caution. - Really, we already answered that. - You guys nailed that one. - nailed it. - And if you think that we're doing things just to get people rolled up, think again. - Think again, partner, work, work, work, plan, no. (laughing) - We're from Missouri. (laughing) - Honestly, that is a reason why it's happened a couple of times. (laughing) - You're from Illinois. You're like 10 minutes from Missouri, though. Is where you're from, so. - Yeah, we're not for like, I'm not like from Chicago. That would have helped. - Yeah. - Anyway. (laughing) - Our Missouri audience is not happy about that. (laughing) - And Addie's our Missouri audience. (laughing) - She's a fed, did she's from Joplin. - Being in the spotlight all the time is overwhelming and you wish you could take it back. - I'm in a comfortable place with it, right? Like, people recognize us, it's fun, it's cool. But it's not like, we can still go to Disney World with our family and enjoy it. Like, I think it'd be really hard if you were a level of family like Mr. Beast, where you can't even like, go somewhere without getting swarmed. - No, we're not yet. Like, when we ran into Mr. Beast at Disney, he had like a whole entire squad with him, which was totally acceptable. - He couldn't walk out of the car. - Yeah, they were waiting for the area to be cleared to walk out of the car. - They were waiting for me to get out of the way. - 'Cause it's just a liability. Like, people swarm in and then there's like. - I wouldn't like that though. - You could have like a freaking flash mob form. So I think that's, I feel very lucky that we're a level of fame towards not that. - You've worried that being good examples leaves less room to be full of yourselves. I feel like I lean fully on the full yourself side rather than the good example side, which I mean, that, we can have a different opinions on, but I don't feel like, I like my main, I always want to like, make sure that I'm showing up online as like, a positive, like a light being genuine, and being like, hopeful. Like, I wanna always spread a message of hope, and like, especially hope towards like, marriage, family, women, like things like that. But, I definitely err more on this side of being myself rather than necessarily a quote unquote example. - Also, I've been thinking about this. What do you think our mission statement should be as a podcast? 'Cause I feel like because of what we are as a couple, like authentically, and what we started on YouTube as, I feel like our mission statement is that we're promoting positive, healthy relationships and families. - Yeah, normal. - I feel like that's as simple as that. 'Cause I think we just, we see the value, we see the value in healthy relationships and healthy family dynamics, and that's like what we're all about. - Yeah, I feel like that's great. I think we should formulate something. - Yeah. - Revisit that. But also, I feel like a big part of our podcast too, is like the fact that like some of the best things happen in unplanned circumstances. - That is really cool. - Yeah. - I feel like that, I like that quality better podcast. Like it's kind of like spontaneous unplanned. - It was unplanned that we started dating when we did, like, you, it's kind of, also, can we talk about, it's actually so cool. I'm so happy for you. I wish, I selfishly wished I could switch places with you, but you were like crushing on me before we started dating, which is kind of sick. Like to get to marry your high school crush. I wish I was you. - You wish you married your high school crush? - No, I wish, no, I wish that I'd been crushing on you the whole time, 'cause that would make it even more special for me. - Yeah, but, you know. - I won. See, I always give what I want. - You do. I mean, you're smart, you're beautiful, you're funny. Like, who doesn't wanna be around you? - God, you're nice. I don't really know what you're going with that. - What do you mean? - Oh, you're wishing that you crushed on me. - Yeah, I wish, like, I would have had a crush on you at 14, and then, got to marry you. - Well, I got what I wanted. I'm the winner. - I mean, I did fall head over heels. My senior year of high school. - You got what you wanted. - I, like, was legitimately hyperfixated on you. I was so obsessed. - That's sweet. - Yeah. - This one says, you have a lot of help. House cleaner, baby slitter, slash nanny. - Yes and no, I think. - I think we have a lot of help. - What's funny for this one is, like, we do have help, but then we use extra time to then, like, invite our family over, have parties at our house, host events. So there's, like, never a dull moment here, but I think it's good. Like, Abby's constantly cooking for friends, family, hosting gatherings. And so, we do have house cleaners, but they come every other week, and then we pick up our house, like, they, to vacuum and, like, clean the toilets and stuff. - They like deep clean it. - Yeah, they'll deep clean, but we have to, like, organize, pick up all that. - Yeah, I think that's typical. But yeah, we do have cleaners that come. - That's been super helpful. I love that. - We do. We have childcare part time so we can work. - Yeah. - Yeah. - But, I mean, I don't know. The childcare part time is, like, significantly less time than they would be at school. Like, what, is it four hours money through Friday that we have childcare? - Yeah. - So that's pretty, like, we're with our kids. - And they're also napping during that time. - Yeah, so it's like, it's almost like we have childcare for two hours. I mean, you, the reason you do that, the reason you have childcare during their nap is, because then it gives you more time with the kids, 'cause you get the mornings with them afternoons, after you're done working, and then the night, so. - Yeah, I mean, we do still have to work, whether or not people like to recognize us as a job, which is fine. - Yeah. - I think it's nice having the support, 'cause then we can do more for other people, like you're sitting too. - Yeah. - Yeah. people to compare themselves to me, like mom's watching this being like, oh my gosh, like she works and she cooks and she cleans and she's like, no, we do have help. So I don't want like, that's an unhealthy comparison if we're not honest about that. So yeah, and we're really thankful to that. And that doesn't diminish the fact that we also work really, really hard. Yeah. You miss life before kids and feel guilty about it. You know, I used to, but I don't anymore. I agree. I actually did too early on. Like I loved my kids so much, but I was just like, how can I, it was, it's a big adjustment to make. And it's like, you love your kids so much, but you're like, there's a part of you that's like, man, there's a lot of freedom I had before that I didn't, that I don't have now. And part of me was like, in this like, oh no, I miss our single us. Now I'm like the opposite to where I'm like, I want four children, you know, like I never, Abby, I seriously, I said four when I was a kid, and then we started having kids and I was like, oh, brick, we are not having four kids. And then after, after everything that happened in the fall, I am a hundred and ten percent for kids. Sweet. So down for four. I do think that if you're like early on, like, and you have a baby, and you're thinking like, you're feeling guilty about like missing that, I just think you need to give it a little bit more time. I really think that you will fully adjust. Yeah. And like, now, like, I love, like, I fully love our life and like, I don't miss, I don't miss. I was back really fondly on aspects of our life before kids, but I don't miss it. No. And so, um, there was a time though when I was missing it and you just have to grieve that change. Yeah. But I also want to shout you out, Matt, whenever we are around people with babies, which is so funny because I feel like you say on this podcast all the time, like, I don't like the baby stage. I don't like the baby stage. Whenever we're around people with babies, you are the one holding their baby 95 percent of the time. You love babies, Matt. I do. Or you're just amazingly good at them and you can't help it. Well, I think I told our babies a ton, like, like, I would work while like wearing our kids. And then I think I would just be like, I don't know, you can sometimes get into this, like, what did I do? Like, we're, I have no minutes to myself, I'm either wearing a kid or changing a poopy diaper or changing, you know, you're like an extremely active father wearing comes to babies. I feel like I hit, I feel like I hit like a phase that a lot of like, moms back in like the 40s hit where they're like, this is so much like I feel like I hit that seriously. But then I, but then they got older and it got easier and I'm like, I love this. I want a million. You're amazing. Like, yeah, I'm like, you love babies. I do love babies. I do love babies. And you're always holding. I'm actually really excited. Random people, baby. Hey, next time we have a baby, I'm really excited to hold that baby a lot. You say that a lot. That's really sweet. Okay. So I just want to expose that about you. You're like, you're like saying one thing, but you're like behind closed doors, which really differently. I'm a secret. I'm a secret baby lover, guys. I love babies. You are like always holding them. And people that we don't even know that well, they're like, do you want to hold them? And you're like, yeah, and then you wouldn't have pulling them maybe the whole time. I told you good at it too. I get them to stop trying. You're amazing on it. Because they're just special hold. I'm pretty sure that Griffin and I grew up both call it because I did this special hold. I did it with Griffin all the time, babe, because he would start screaming and it would get him to it. He did spit it out. It would get him. I think he had so much indigestion. But it would get him to like relieve whatever gas or stuff was trapped and I would just hold him like a little. I can't do that. I can't physically do that. Oh my gosh. Just one. You regret getting married so young? No. Best decision. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, surely. I would. Yeah. I feel like if you're going to send it, you got to be 150 million percent in. Yeah. I mean, you have to commit. You got to burn the ships, homie. Unless it's like, look like if this is dark, but if you're like in a like a not safe situation, that's a different like if we're talking like, no, that's, that's always assumed. Yeah. Okay. But yeah. Anyway, we burnt the ships and we were like, we're sending it. So if you actually are considering getting married, young is surround yourself with other married people, even if they're older, because I think if you continue to have your same young and single friends, that's going to be a real, that's going to make your life a lot harder. Gosh, I honestly, one of my, one of my, one of my, I go back and forth on this, I wonder if I regret not marrying you sooner. Like I wonder if I, yeah, like I wonder if I wish we would have like, alloped freshman year. I loved my one year of living with my girlfriends. I did too, but it's like, marriage is so good and yeah, I don't know, because it's like, I think we would have been totally fine to get married here. I just did a boy's trip with my buddies, we went snowboarding, surfing and skateboarding all the same day, because you can surf now in Arizona at the surf park and, but she's in Mesa, Arizona. And then Flagstaff, Arizona has snowboarding and we have a half, five in our backyard. But which I built, it was actually really cool. I need, I still need to, I still need to post the whole video, but anyway, where was I going with that? Oh, I love my college roommates, because we do yearly boys trips, but I still, I think I regret not marrying you sooner. We would have been totally fine to marry each other. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Okay. Next assumption. Abby gets hit on now even more than before the kids and it messes with Matt's head. There's two assumptions there. I love it. I don't get hit on. I hyper up when she gets hit on. I think it's kind of, I'm like, yeah, well, it actually makes me feel good because I'm like, yeah, my wife is, my wife is really sexy and you are jealous. I don't get hit on. It's fine. I also don't think that people hitting on you probably weren't even looking to check if you had a wedding ring first. They just think you're hot and hit on you. I don't get hit on. You do sometimes. I can't think of one time. Not like, it's not like a weekly occurrence, but there's been times it's funny is when you're pregnant, you look so pretty when you're pregnant and you've had people, you've had men hit on you when you're pregnant. I look like an ogre. You've had people hit on you pregnant. That was a really odd person that did that, a really odd person. No, I don't get hit on that who thinks you're someone they're both strong. I look like an ogre. Ogre. No, I don't get hit on and it does not match with Matt's head. Matt is the least jealous partner. Honestly, I wish you were more jealous. Really? Yes. I really like you. I actually really don't care, but you could be a little bit more jealous. I think you're super hot. You judge people who choose not to have children. No, not at all. No, if you don't want kids, gosh, don't have them because- Yeah, that would be a bad decision if you- That would be a really sad reality for that child. But I think if you're in the situation though, I think your brain eventually comes around and you're like, I love this, you know? Not for everyone. I guess not for everybody. I think for me, it's just like I don't understand it because I have- I don't understand either now. I can't remember time when I didn't want to have kids. I never had a time where I didn't want kids. I think timing of kids, maybe a thing for me at one point. But like the, I love it. So yeah, I don't understand that. Yeah, I don't understand that honestly. It does not want you kids. I don't get it, but I also- Like, I can understand not wanting kids until you're like 35 or 40 or whatever depending on when you want to start having kids. I can understand that. But yeah, they're not wanting them at all. I don't get it. But everybody's different. Yeah, I can fully understand that everyone works a little differently. Okay, this one says, Abby's parents still live with you. Y'all just never mentioned that again. LOL. Do you want to address this one? It's not that big of a deal. They don't live with us. We had a massive falling out. No, that's not true. It was bad. Just the space that we're in. We're not on speaking terms. Sorry. We love my parents. They live very close. We see them basically every day. Our kids are super close with them. Kind of like you were with your grandparents. Yeah. They're super, super close, but they don't live with us. I can walk around naked in my own house now. That's kind of, that was actually really nice. The first time I did that. I was like, I don't have to put on clothes to walk around in my own home. I was at my own bedroom, like in my own, you know, that's just kind of cool. There are different perks. I will say that. Yeah. Totally. But yeah. Now we still have a great relationship. We love them. This place that we're filming in though would not be here if that was the case. Oh, yeah. Same with our other studio. Yeah. We are old studio like I said, if you guys watch the YouTube video, we used to drive 45 minutes of the studio degree, so it's nice having an at home studio now. Yeah. It's very convenient. But we love them very much. You guys are superstitious. No, not at all. And then this is their evidence though. What is it? Because we don't show our baby's faces. Oh, you, I guess they think we're superstitious because we don't show our kids faces. It's not superstitious. It's just, you know, having an extreme protection in for our kids. Because we don't, we don't understand the interwebs. I think it's extreme, honestly. Yeah. Oh, here's the thing. I don't want people to think that we like are out here judging everyone that shows our kids online. Oh, yeah. Yeah. No. That's every family. That's every parent's decision. And you just have to assess what's best for you and your family and your kids. Every parent's decision. Makes sense, yeah. Makes sense, yeah. But no, we're not superstitious. I think we're very much not actually. Yeah. Not at all. Abby saves money. Matt likes to spend. Oh. What do you think? If we weren't to sway one direction, that would probably be the direction. Really? See, I feel the opposite. I think. Oh, really? So like, when I think about money, I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to finances. I almost got my degree in finance before I dropped out to focus on social media. But anyway, I've got 15 credit hours left, but still got in the alumni magazine from Missouri State, which is kind of a flex, honestly. Anyway, what I'm saying is I love, I like reading books about money. And what I've learned is you, you, okay, like finance one, personal finance 101, save more, like, you need to spend less than what you make. Personal finance 101, spend less than what you make. If you can't figure that out, if you're taking out debt for everything, buying a car, buying student loans, if you're taking debt up for everything, it's going to F you over a long term. Anyway, long story short. I like buying assets, so assets could be real estate, it could be ETFs, which are like-- - It could be a half pipe. - No, no, Abby, Abby, seriously, like the half pipe is not a fraction of what we invested last year. So it's just like we put money aside-- - No, I'm not saying you're financially irresponsible. You're more apt to spend money than me. - Oh, okay, I guess, I just look at-- - I think you're very, very financial responsible. - I look at percentages and I look at our revenue and then I'm like, okay, we're giving away 10% of revenue to charity and we're giving away X amount of percentage to our employees 'cause we have to pay them, like they have to pay their bills, right? And health insurance is freaking expensive. And so anyway, so we have all that, and then it's like, okay, how much of this can I put aside to build assets that we can one day when we're like old, have like money that just works for us while we're, you know-- - You're on a side road, you spend more money. - Fine. (laughs) - And it's because you're involved with the money more than me. So like for me, I'm like, I don't see it, so we don't have it, so I'm not gonna spend it. - Four years ago, but I spent a lot more money on certain things, like parties. - I felt guilty. - I've spent a lot more money on that. - One month from now, probably when this episode's out, it were coming up on when I put in the order for our Tesla Model Y. That felt, I felt so guilty doing that. - You shouldn't. - 'Cause it felt, I was like, like we had the money cash to buy it, but I was like, this feels so, it just felt like it was a dreamy, bougie purchase, but I love, I really love that. - I don't think we're talking about cars, we're just talking about like random things. Like can we, can I be honest with you? - Like what's a random thing? Like my half pipe? - Well, I'll just actually bring up one of that.
