Your Now with Minga Sound Talent Media. Check out more shows at SoundTalantmedia.com. Me huolehdimme matkasta. Sinä päätät miten sen käytet? Bandaa on tullut asetaminen, että se on tullut suurin. Täällä on muistaa. Täällä on tullut muistaa. Sik, Täällä on tullut muistaa. a big step up for a lot of bands. So that's what I'm going to go. Yeah, that's their headbinding tour with downward. That should be a sick tour. Check out the KC, right? Okay, see, great band. Downward too. Wonderful. My favorite record of last year straight out. Shout out to drummer in my band who gets pulled on to tour with downward. And then we can't play shows for quite some time because he's on to a fucking threise. They'll be back. They'll be. It's all good. They were a new morality band at some point. Right. And the new records on pure noise. The new record is downward too and that's on an MZ. But there's some things coming in a pipeline. Some new announcements coming down. But I just saw it out. Did I just tell everybody what? I'm sorry. I know. So good. Don't worry. It's cooking. Yeah, they're a great band. I remember being very stoked that they played Irving Pause with Threise. I was like, look at this. Yes. Then they're all shout out to Oklahoma. All right. So we'll go. You want to do run for cover while we're here? Greg and them run for cover. We got Angel Dust cold to the touch just out brand new. Wonderful record. Best record. That sounds beautiful. I'm going to say I mean the thing that they're such a unique band every time they kind of do something different. I think I've had the pleasure of noting justice for as long as I played in bands doing the games. Yeah, legitimately. So it's like being able to know, you know, to kind of know someone from that early and see them grow, right? With the music and what they're doing is it's a yeah, because I think a lot of people pretend that the people are growing, right? Sure. Sure. But like, justice is no cosplay and I have always appreciated that about him. So I think yeah, and then the new record's fucking awesome. You got to appreciate an artist that can still kick the shit out of you. Yeah, I thought I looked at that. Habs come on. Dude, like come on. We've some for the rest of us. And I mean, but yeah, it was cool like seeing them in Rolling Stone and shit. It's like, yeah, that was so cool. That's awesome. So it's like, it's still up to senior friends when and yeah, the new Angel Dust is it's definitely good. I actually have one more run for cover release that I didn't even realize they did. Because I guess I missed it. They they did a re-release of cursive domestica. Yes, I saw that when I came out. Man, that record when I was a kid, that's a great house. I also like Dudley organ. And I was like, they also did that. The shot I run for cover just making moves over there. Look at you. I did not picture you punching people at like a fucking year spent culture and listening to the Mesa that's awesome. Yes. I respect that. That's cool. I like great record. I think they change then they do like the the reissue with domestica had like the couple from the original record. But like in current days or with their older. If you look at it, it's pretty awesome. Like they like they got the same two people and like did it 25 years, whatever it is. That's pretty awesome. I dated a girl who put cursive on mixed CDs for me and I didn't like it. Really? You got around to it? I never checked in anything. I don't think it's your mom Tyler. You don't think some like I feel some of it you might like. It was like a fuck there was a cursive was one of the bands that I just I would I would upload the mixed CD to my computer and then put it on my iPod mini. And so you were like you were on top of technology at some point. Yeah, I mean, I still got an iPod. But I'm maybe having a lot of 26. I love that it was a mini. So he's like I didn't know what it was playing. But like, you know, it's like the cursive was one of the songs was like I don't need this on the iPod. I'll just I'll just drag these brand new songs over and I don't need I don't need I don't need the cursive songs. I mean, yeah, I mean, I'm not going to judge. Brand is great. Some problems. Oh, yeah. Well, that was I was 19 years old. It's fine. No, of course. I mean, of course, it's for you know, if it makes you less sad, I get it. I get it. I'm not I'm not judging it. But I will make you I'll make you know what? I was going to like I'll make you a domestic applai like a cursive playlist. Can you be the central playlist? Yeah. How? Just email me the link to it and I can click it and then it'll take me to Spotify. And then I say you do have Spotify somewhere. Yeah, I get Spotify and I download it to listen to it offline. You like I've explained this to all of you. That's I still find it fascinating because every time I bring you up, I go my friend Tyler, who has a football? My friend, Tyler, who thought I was security at an inclination show. Yes, I did. Did I tell you the guys' story? No, it's not a bad story. It sounds awesome. So we're at elsewhere in Brooklyn. Oh, I was there. Yeah. Yeah. And it was in San Diary. I do remember this actually. Was it in San Diary inclination? Stan still? Stan still, yeah. Yeah. And inclination's going up there. He's doing his weird fucking stretches. He's doing the rake apple. I'm doing yoga on stage just to show off kind of thing, right? And our friends Eric and Brian were going to do the parts in the song that were Russ and from once I'm closer. Right. And Ryan. Right. And they were going to play the song that I sing on. I'm very excited. The only time you've ever gotten to do it. Right. And Tyler, like I'm waiting on the stairs as they're all setting up and stuff. And Tyler like turns to me and like taps me and goes, these two guys are good. No. They go, Eric says they won't let us on the stage. And I looked at you because you were there. I went, I went, no, they're good. And then you were like, I know I'm trying to, and I heard, as soon as I heard your voice, I was like, this is, I'm never, I go, I was like, I'm never going to live this down. I knew from that moment. I was like, this is over. I was like, come Shane. I was like, we've met before. I sang in a record. And he goes, it was like, I mean, you look different. I'm like, it was three years ago. I'm old. And in fact, we don't change. Like I look exactly the same. And I was like, we met in Louisville. And then you're like, so I bring it up all the time just because, hopefully it is. In my defense, I'm a flip phone, dude. I don't, I'm not on Instagram. I don't get reminded what people look like too often. My only interaction for what you looked like, Tom was after not loose. After the, yeah, after the, we met for one second at Spinelli's. And then we talked, we talked after the show the next day. Right. Actually, behind the time I've ever seen what you look like in my entire life. All right. It's fair. You don't have YouTube? I mean, I just, I don't know. He has YouTube. Let me tell you. Yeah, I just don't spend that much time watching bands. Yeah. I mean, your algorithms probably a little different from mine. It's pretty sad. I don't understand. All right. Got it. I get a lot of like old CBGB shows. You might get some other stuff that's not probably made for air. All right. So we're going to go out to a Denver, Colorado and talk about convales. What do you got for convales? This new Geola record. I'm just going for the most recent record because I, I saw them this summer. I saw them play distorted mess fest in Lexington last year. And they kind of sold the show. Their Minnesota band, their singer played guitar in the band gadget that I, that L.D.V. put out the seven inch four. And when it had live who went on to prize horse and trying to remember and Eli who plays in Gates to Hell currently and wrote the Who Laughs last stuff with Jim Baron. So like gadget has like a bunch of people who spurred it out into bands that are honestly way better than gadget now. But Geolo's awesome. It's like it's very like hoax kind of dirty grimy, you know, crawl on the ground, punk shit. And one of my immediate takeaways seeing them in Lexington, their singer was playing in like a white button up shirt that looked like it had been just like drug across the ground. And he was dressed exactly how I dressed when I wanted to be Andrew Reynolds at 14 years old skateboarding. And that was my immediate, I was like, this is awesome. He looks exactly as shitty as I did when I was 14. But when you record clasps, it is called a tenon bomb, I think, is what? The royal tenon bomb. Yeah, or tenon barum, tenon barum, tenon barum. Yeah, that's what I mean. I see that word and I don't know what it means. Yeah, that's going to be tough for people to say right because I just said it wrong three times and every single time I was like, oh, I'm saying I'm saying right. And you're looking right. Yeah, it's like the tenon bombs. That's that'll work. But yeah, it's fucking sick. And I back this band and stand by them. Tentos, tentos down. All right. And then we're going to go to North Carolina to live a lie. I was going through their mail order and I'm going to say pick up the Spaz LaRavantja record. I'm not much of a fast, like I like some fast hardcore. But like I'm not a total huge power violence guy, but having seen Spaz in the 90s and then being a lot of fun and the records being really fun and cool to listen to. If you like faster hardcore, you get to worse with worse in Spaz. It's a lot of fun. They make fun of people. It's got mosh parts. It's fast. I feel like in Fassal in Spaz. That's all as a meathead hardcore guy from New York hardcore. That's old New York, not the stuff that people have weird, weird opinions about. Very problematic stuff. I'm like the old guy that's not problematic. But yeah, if you like faster hardcore, which is heavy, but fun, get some Spaz records in your life. So thank you to everybody, all the sponsors for looking out for us and go pick up a fucking record. Go support a band. Don't listen to an on streaming, even no matter what Tyler may tell you. Do not listen to Spotify. Buy a record. You gotta buy a record honestly. He's fucking I always buy all his money on t shirts and stupid shit. They don't buy any records. What the fuck's up with? They can't buy a tape. Can't buy a CD. You think it's a front band shirt free? Ginseng by a CD. They take it for free. Well, the real ones are.
We've got another motherfucker's take the free shit. Did Lumpy bring back the CD? I think you did. I think you did. 100 days brought back the CD. Yeah, because absolutely. I blame Wampie for sure. Which was a lot of things honestly. I mean, I do too. I like the guy, but I was kind of like, you brought this band back, really? But this is what we're doing. Is this? But yeah, I think it's, I think it's awesome. I like a CD. I mean, I was like, my wheelhouse is being, but CD is like, as a kid, so it's like, I think it's fucking bullshit. I don't have a CD player. So I mean, I don't have a tape player either for being honest. I mean, like, could I buy the tapes anyway? I feel like your truck has a tape player, Tyler, right? No, my car has my civic has a CD player, but that's it. It's got a rancid CD that's been in there for like three years. Which record? Fuck, let's go. Oh, I mean, you can't go wrong with that. You could listen to it every day. That's a matter. Only one song skips. And you'll never hear that song in the same way. There's 19 songs. That's right. You just skip. Yeah. As long as it's like track 17, who give the shit and you'll, you'll always hear that song in the same way. Yeah. So like, when you see the play that's on live, you're going to hear the skip because it's like ingrained in your head. CDs are at, I remember Greg your boy Josh Trusskill hit me up one day because he was like destroying pretty much a warehouse full of CDs. Like, and he sent me the picture and it was just an enormity of just like, and like, I mean, some of us like arms been back or whatever the fuck, but some of it was like terror CDs and like, MPV CDs and like fucking bleeding through and all the stuff. And I'm like, dude, just give him out of places like I've tried to hand people CDs that like Warped or and they look at me like I'm handing them like a plate of shit. For the, for the Bayway holiday show, he was the secret Santa and he was giving kids out of the Christmas bag. Just CDs from his from his back catalog. It was awesome. He's just a little too. But I remember he's like, you think anybody wanted I hit up lumpy and he couldn't get there in time because like one piece of I'll fill up my car and give shit. He's like, I'll buy whatever stuff and read put it in the, you know, but it didn't work out. But he destroyed like thousands of CDs that he could probably get rid of now. Yeah, that's definitely true. Like, you know, I mean, it was like bleeding through stuff. There was terror stuff. There was like good shit. You know, they weren't all hits. You know, but that's them. They can't all be hits, you know. I mean, they all can't be open hand. You know what I'm saying? Sometimes that bad CD turns into a good CD. I might even like some hours of impact songs. You'll never know. Bad life for blue eyes, man, whatever dude. I don't know about that one. That's a great one. Give them that one. But of course, that also, you know, loads of the law, whatever, like whatever. That is so true. You know, I mean, you can't really, you know, you can't win everything. So festival season is upon us. And the next two weeks, two weekends, we have festivals happening in Louisville, Kentucky and Orange County, California. Who wants to start like you want to talk about the lineups? You want to talk about the process? It's it's open, open court, whatever you want to talk about. Like so process. This is something that we talked about before and everyone can, you know, whoever wants to answer. Obviously you guys start like the day after the festival, you start thinking about next year's that or like within a week or two. Was that fair? We started the week before. Jesus Christ. Okay. Now like we were figuring out doing a new venue like before the festival. The festival was even open. It was a nightmare. Yeah. So what's the new festival in Louisville? I the new, the new air, the venue in Louisville. Melwood Art Center. It's honestly funny enough. I don't know if I, we talked about this column. We looked at the venue. Alex looked at Melwood for Midwest blood fest years and years and years ago when there was, when the basement was unfinished. And they wanted, I want to say they wanted like $900 or something for the room. It would be nice. And they were like, we can't afford that. Imagine that. He's like, is this still, this offer still good from 12 years ago for it? We're like, we can't afford that for the best. And we don't know if we could fill this room. And it was like, I think that room is like 800 or whatever is what they said for that room. And so it's so insane to think about like that. I want to say that was like, they settled for moving the festival to New Albany, Indiana for the next couple years. But that was when they lost Nelligan where the first fest was, which I realized I'm wearing a shirt I got at the first Midwest blood fest today. It was absolutely. It'll advised it's the singer from two witnesses band, like two bands before two witnesses. That's amazing. But which is funny enough that I'm wearing this today. But yeah, so Melwood was something we looked at or they looked at then and couldn't afford it. So when Colin brought out the idea of like, we should see about doing Melwood. I was like, yes, we should we should see if we can make this work. Amazing. Amazing. So have you guys had any shows here before? There's never been a hardcore show. They've done and it's the classic like, oh, we've done we've done wrap shows. How bad could it be, you know? Well, we'll we'll we'll test that. Yeah. So, but they've been like, and I haven't been back since the first last year in it because I don't live there anymore. But the staff there have been so accommodating to every question very excited about it. There's lots of parking. It's in an area where it's like Greg, that's a shot against you guys because you don't have parking on Friday. I'm just saying did you catch that Colin was taking a shot? I felt that. I felt that. Yeah, right. He was just like, he's not saying like, don't write here. You could all come in your own car. There's so much parking that you don't need to write here. I saw that. I just saying I'm just saying there's some shade. So LDB, Health, Feshade, whatever. It's cool. But they and it's basically it's, you know, without getting too much into it, it's really two rooms next to each other and it's going to be the showroom and one is going to be all the other bullshit that comes with. And perfect. There's a bar this year that is actually going to be stocked and helps and, you know, food and everything that all the issues that probably people faced on their side that. And there's also competent staff that will help when the building is falling apart. Oh, yeah, but not falling apart. And the ceiling shouldn't leak. See, I shouldn't be leaking on power amps that are connected. Oh, Jesus. I've all the electricity. So that would be fair. And then Greg, you guys are at the observatory. Observatory. Yep. Yeah. We're mainly the two main 19 as a couple like side show, pre show sort of things leading up to it. To, wow. For Wednesdays, LA at 1720, a free show. I promise the world, Boundmora and start today. And Thursday is the pre show also at the observatory and the constellation room with 18 visions of the Meshara and then Sunday back at 1720 with kickback, Recon, missing link, I'll shut a realm. That's fucked up. Yeah, it's like the most dangerous show. Yeah, it's going to be a great time. I'm not saying in a bad way, but that's like an egregious show. Like that's like. And the new guys are doing pre pre show. I mean, we can talk about the line. That's just how I thought that. So so Colin, you're saying like, you know, you guys are starting like. Do you start with like a band in mind for like the next year? Like here's like our fucking north star that we're going to try to get. Or like, how does it work? Do you start from the bottom up? When when when when? When was coming out tomorrow? Okay, well there's some inside baseball on some of this where I knew I knew that there's a band going to be putting out a record. You know, then I was like, we've got to have them be a part of it. All right. Okay, so I think it's, you can probably all put two and two together, but, you know, keep it that. And then we always try to mix it up, you know, and I think the vibe has always been where it's like, Bell DB vibe has always been a mix of like, there's some more metal core leaning stuff. There's some more like. Emo pop-punk leaning stuff and there's always some like, just straight up real deal hardcore. And it's like, how do you mesh that? Because I think the entire you can tell me if I'm wrong here. We're six hours from basically every major city in the Midwest. And further, you know, so it's like, it's a place that people drive to. So it's like every, every city has got its own vibe as well. Like we have bands from Detroit, bands from Springfield, bands from Milwaukee. You know, it's like every city kind of brings their own vibe as well. So having to mesh that all together. And I think, you know, saves a day was an idea that I think he was Jake honest. No, it was. Well, I was I was talking to Scotley, who I don't know, I've always known. Wonderful human being from Massachusetts. And he, he, I think when we were sitting down at dinner somewhere and he was just like, Andrew who manages saves a day was like, trying to find something fun and cool for them to do. And I was like, well, I love saves a day. And I think I immediately texted Tyler and I was like, saves a day. Gookshan Park and then everyone from there was like, yes. And then I remember being like, I mean, if it can happen, yeah. Yeah, I'm like, I'm in. Yeah. I mean, I think they played this as hardcore a couple of years ago. And it was awesome. It was awesome. That was the, that was the year we played at the Sarkworn. It was magical. All right. They had the perfect band like you go, who's going to like, for a hard quarterfest, they're one of the best, they're, you know, one of the best bands of that. They did Tyler hurt me for me. It was Spanelli's. They did the private show there too when they were fundraising for that record, when they did that like small tour where they were playing like houses and shit. Dude, I think I missed
Did that even happen? Yeah, I'm almost positive they played there. I mean, I'm sure someone can tell you about it, but I was living on my island then still and like I remember that you'd went on my island too. And it's like these are all, I mean, I love the records. You know, I think every record from today is almost like a different era or vibe, but like generally it's like you can put it on and just enjoy it. And I mean, they used to play crazy fast. Yeah, one of them has been crazy fast too. And I think there's just a lot of history with stuff like that and Louisville and I think it's cool. I think there's some older people that are probably really excited about it and there's some younger people who are hopefully tuned into this band is important or was important. You know, I listen a lot of the bands that you like without saves a day, I can't imagine that we would have a lot of, you know, the bands that we do have today on the softest part by hardcore tendencies. Right. And the Koyos and even the title fights and every, yeah, it gets all kind of from Dan Manufang or probably and lifetime. You know, looked it up as the 2001 crazy fast that the suicide machines in AFI headlined. Was that the one we played? We played it one with the AFI, it was us AFI Dillinger and Converge and what's the band, the fucking the Dillinger's on this one too, as well as Ellie buried alive. Oh no, I think we played 2002 and AFI headlined, it was right on the river and Dillinger threw their guitar amps into the river. Got it. Yeah, okay. Was that the year that Dave went and then I think this is the body didn't play right now? No, no, no. This was Dave went, this was when they brought crazy fast back. Okay. This is when me and Dave were like 11 years old. I was going to say like, I was like, I don't think Dave's at all. Wait, no. He's a month older than me. What's the dude's name that brought crazy fast back? He wasn't the, I can't remember who it was. He's from Lowe that only tours with hatred. I'm sorry, he tours with Blakely and he too. I met him. Oh, Andy. Andy, yeah. I had him too, yeah. He's with the depth of that. Yeah, yeah, he's awesome. He's that with Pat, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and like that dude Chuck from Brooklyn like helped sort of put it together and stuff. It was like a full shot. Chuck. Right. I remember they did Dane played the strip club. Yep. Dane played. Every day after they played my house. Oh my God. Yeah. Unfortunately, there was going to be other things that were supposed to happen at our house that night and then it fell through and also because everybody just went to see Dane at the strip club. So what is happening? What is happening? House. It happened 10 years ago. Doesn't matter. You can tell stories now. Oh, I can't remember who. I honestly can't remember who. I thought you were going to be like, I'm going to go to grave with this that. No, somebody was going to play with him. Somebody was agreed to play and I can't remember who it was that dropped out like last minute. I'm so pissed off that we had anybody come to our house tonight for like the three local bands that played. I'm trying to think who else. Like Lucera was big on that. Batsick's holes. Maybe I forget it. Yeah. I can't remember. All right. So one of the bands that's putting out a record soon, you'd be like, that would be terrorific if you could get them. So they were like kind of like the the the linchpin of like starting to build out the fest around this unnamed band. And I think the other thing is like we were in a smaller space now, you know, so the that make it easier. It honestly makes it harder, I think, because I think it. I mean, probably you can tell me if I'm wrong here, I feel like we set the bar so high for so many years. And now it's like, Hey, actually, we are scaling this back and for a multitude of reasons, you know, but I think it's just tougher because it's like, okay, what bit like. We had talked about a lot of bands that we wanted to try to do like we and it just, it doesn't make sense when there's less people that can come because right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, there's that and like a lot of bands that I think come from our world that have like gone on to do cooler stuff. And now we're not cooler. Well, they thought it was cooler, you know, and now they want to come back and do the cool thing again. And it's like, you got to take a pay cut to do that. Yeah. People, people have enjoyed an inflated rate of pay for longer than I think they was realistic. Yeah. I think that's important to explain, right? Like when you're doing a festival and festival is like a loose turn, right? Because festival is 20,000 people or it's 1,000 people depending on what the room and the capacity of the event is. No matter what agent you send it to, whether there are friends or there are some cocksucker, they go times 10 on anything it is. So you can say festival rate. Yeah. There's a festival rate. And the festival rate is times three, if not times four, what the band typically gets. So you're trying to do something cool and creative. A lot of the time, the first thing you do is you hit the wall of the agent that just doesn't give a fuck because their job is to get as much money out of the situation as possible. So it's like, it's you have to kind of have a lot of conversations. Just like Con saying, I was talking to the same day manager, you know, you have to kind of have all these conversations to get everybody in line to make it happen. So it's a little bit more complicated than setting an email being like, hey, we're saying say, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, can we have this idea to make you this? You kind of have to have six separate conversations where you can get to. Right. You're the awesome work on thinking. The agent was the last conversation. It was, this is all been talked about with everyone but you. Here you go. Yeah. Right. The wiggle room is about 5% in either direction. Sure. Sure. Yeah. Like this is, this is, this is agreeable. So just get it done. Right. Yeah. And this was, I mean, this is just the second year that me and Ashton have had anything to do with LDB. And I know this year, Colin, we were like, we didn't into booking saying we're going to offer people to play the fest. And if they come back and ask for an egregious amount of money, we will say, okay, you don't want to play them and then move on to the next band. And it worked out. And it only happened, I think for, you know, two or three bands, I'd like bigger ideas to that. Or we didn't hear back at all from people because there's just there, the band is so unfortunately disconnected from what's going on. Yeah. Now that just that LDB fest doesn't ring, like, ring any child. I don't, I don't even think it doesn't ring anything. I think they just hit their booking agent and we had no direct way to contact the band. I mean, I, I, I talked to some of the outbreak fest folks and like, even then like they, they've tried for a couple things and, you know, they're like, you know, you have direct contact to this guy in this band in this band because I don't think it's actually making it to them. Right. And people that would be like, Oh, shit, I totally play that. Yeah. Like, give their directive to the, their representation to kind of be like, don't ask for this. We'll do it for this. And then we got it. And I think there's a level two. Like we, we had a couple other bands where we, there were like bigger agents that were like, we really want to make this happen. And we all finally sat down. This is last year. We talked about it a bunch. We're like, this could be really cool. It feels timely. It makes sense. And then we sent them an offer and they basically kind of told us to get fucked. Wow. Okay. Which is fine. Which is, which was fine. But it was like, we do this song in dance. And not because you put the idea in our head and then you had a fully different set of songs. Right. It was such a tease that you're like, yeah, we're going to get this band there. Like here's, yeah, okay. And then Greg, like so for Hellfest West, was there a particular band that you were like, that, like was you're jumping off point that you booked everything else around? And this is no shut, this is no like shape to any of the other bands. Like it was like, all right, we got turmoil or whatever. You know, the idea of doing Hellfest West kind of came after Hellfear and New Jersey over some of the 2025 Nate Zabalba from SOS had talked to Josh and that was like the first conversation. And then there was like a follow up call that then like I think everybody else joined. So me, Josh Trusskill, Nate Zabalba, Conrad and Xavier, that's like the SOS squad. So that was kind of a five bus the whole time just throwing ideas. Josh had path of resistance that they were going to do this show and then we're going to go to South America. So they had South America offer already. And then it was like, okay, this could be the first US show and then we'll follow it up with what's South America. So that was kind of like the starting point was they were going to headwind Saturday and then yeah, we kind of built, obviously we built from that. But we had like a ton of ideas, obviously. And there was like a ton of, you know, things that we were trying to try to put into play that didn't happen or, you know, that I remember Josh talking about wanting to see if inclination could play this and then when we're not playing it, I knew that it meant that somebody in my band couldn't do it and now I'm sad. The inclination could have played. Most precious blood couldn't play all the bands to me. Try it guys. You just couldn't hit our quote, man. You know, it's like our fucking festival rate is a little different. I'm sorry, man. For 25 years on the record, too. What is shame? Will most precious blood play in 2026? Not if I have anything to do with it. How insane is this? I think fucking, did you go to that, the show, the show, I'd invite it. So I think that was like, what, 20, oh, of course, 15, 15, just is. Get my special stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was fun. I would do it again. People got upset about it and tried to get the show shut down. Whatever. It's not putting stories out there. Whoever was in the band. On to cop followers. Right. He called our boy Dave Castillo is.
like trying to get a shutdown and he told, "Hey, Bobby Fisher, go fuck yourself." And show happened. - Yeah, and go, "Bobbony New York, call and cops." What's up with that? - Yeah, I mean, hey, you know, they wanted us to plan to our fake game. And I was like, "I'm not doing that. So stupid." - That's so stupid. - We were gonna pay like, "I has nothing in vain. I'm like, I'm not doing that." Like, I think I remember when that was like a conversation and I heard about it. And then I'm not doing that. I saw it was just in PB and I was like, "Okay, good." Yeah, and like, we put like nothing, like no one's gonna show up and be like, "Oh, I got the fat guy, I wanted the short guy. "No one is gonna say that." Like, people know what they're signing up for. Greg probably had to deal with that shit too. And we played the last, was the last. - Backstab, backstab. - Backstab. And it was same, you know, it was like, we had him like make sure that no one was gonna come and like, wait for a shark, I think it's on bullshit. Can you tell him angry? Can you tell I hate this shit? Oh, okay. So, yeah, so I mean, I, we all, you know, Bob always talks about like the, you know, putting together, like I find fascinating. I don't have the brain to kind of do stuff, but just sort of like, like him would sound and fury and all this stuff, just to kind of be like, I wouldn't even know what to start. Like how do you like, to set a ticket price to get the band to like, you know, it's like, it's a year's worth of work, right, is that fair? - Yeah, I mean, I think the creative part of it is the part that I actually enjoy more than anything. But I think the financial aspect of it is the part of it. - We're the part of it. - It's the worst part about it, but it's at the point where I feel like, I deal with it day in and day out. - Sure. - So it's, half a dozen either way, you know? - No, of course, of course. - And I think that's something that we, and I don't know, Greg, like I feel like, we hit a point where it was just like, how do we make the math work? Because everything is more and more expensive, but how do we still have a fun festival identity and, you know, like the bands that we wanna play that like, people are always excited about mixing the two. And sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, you know, and I think this year for us, it's like we intentionally tried to be lower the price, you know, we're also selling less tickets. And, you know, there's a lot of factors going on in the world right now too, that also dictate that. - Sure. - Yeah, we're very lucky that people are willing to spend the money and then travel and pay for hotels and everything they have to figure out to be able to come to the fest. And I know like one thing, like when, back before, me and Colin were part of the fest, like, LDB and MSBOD before that was always about like, the working bands of that time. And I think that the fest still has like a lot of that, like a lot of our, like, I guess our reasons for bands playing this year was, is this band putting something out that this will help them and this will help the fest in turn get people excited about a band's new record, like, combust new record. Like, they needed to play even though they played last year. And that was another thing is always looking at like, well, who played last year that we think we can get away with playing again. - Yeah, right, right. - And who's not playing FYA? (laughs) Who's not playing side down? And then you're nearly a problem, right? - Yes, well, it sucks. It sucks, and that's another, I mean, we, luckily, like, we are all friends and we all get along at the end of the day. So I'm sure there are bands that are playing both that you'll find out in the approximate week three weeks, you know, like, being able to like work together instead of working against each other, you know? Like, I think that's a big part of it where it's like, for better or worse, there's a fest in every fucking small city now. And yeah, which is awesome. - It's awesome, but it's not like, it really dilutes. It's not like, there's like a West Coast, there's this is hardcore, the Sound and Fury and like, rain fest and one other thing, or FYA. Like, that's like so much stuff going on. - But that is also where like so many of like, the smaller mid-card bands like are rocking right now with the fact that there are so many bands and so many fest that there's room for people not wanting to overlap all of their mid-card bands. So like, you know, a lot of our mid-card bands aren't playing a lot of the other fest because they're either driving distance of Louisville or we're flying like the one, like we're flying Mongrel out and they're happened to not, like they played FYA, but I don't think they're really on any other fest that I know of so far. So it's like California, you can't really, it's driving across the West Coast. - Yeah, the last time, and I wanna say, when World of Pain played, it was the singer from Mongrel was already out of the band at that point. So it's his first time ever going to play Louisville and his old band played Louisville without him. - Oh shit, yeah. - That was sad. - Yeah, I think there's that. And then like the other pieces also, like, how do you like put it all together? So it makes sense too. Like I think we, Tyler, we've talked about it a bunch. It's like, there's 15 slots a day, you know? How do you get people to get there early but also stick around all the way to the end? You know, because inevitably, it's a long day. It's a long day and I think last year, and for the feeling it was two years ago now, probably like we all are like, hey, why are we Austin who does stuff about playing when we're like dude, we've got physically no room. It's like back to back to back. And we're like, we'll definitely make this happen next year. And then when we were putting the stuff times together and I was like, I think Haywire's got to be play like five o'clock and it's just going to be insane. And like I think that, like Tyler said, like it changed the trajectory of Haywire to the point. - Yeah. - We're supposed to play this year and had to drop because they're on tour with the drop kick Murphy's, you know? This will happen. - Or before it announced, you know? - Right. - But like Austin calls us and it's like, you know, we can't do this anymore. Sorry we're going on tour with better religion than the drop kick Murphy's. It's like two, that's awesome. - Yeah, we got it. - Yeah, we'll get you next year. - You can head like next year. Has there, I mean, have you guys in any of the festivals like booked a band, you know, 'cause you booked this so far in advance that they're like, oh shit, this band was supposed to be at two o'clock when I booked this originally, but now they're, they've kind of rocketed up the lineup that you're like, are there certain bands that, like probably even like, I promise the world. Like I, they've exploded in the last couple of months. Yeah. Like did you have them in mind for a certain slot or was it like their slot is like kind of-- - So we brought them up and it's funny. We didn't end up, sorry Greg, you know? Asking them to play because they were doing FYA and we were trying to like, I kind of knew that ahead of time. So it was like, I was trying to differentiate like, and build our own identity, you know? And I think, I mean, I'm excited to see them. I'm gonna go to the show at 1720, you know? But I think we were like, okay, who could we have play? That's not, I promise the world, you know? But like compliment or do something like that. 'Cause I think-- - And they're like a very unique band too, right? So a lot of the time when you get to, and column, maybe you'll agree with me or disagree. Sorry, Tyler, but Collins, Collins like the industry guy. So when I see what his manager is talking to managers, and I know we deal with him. - So when you get to a place like when you're doing better, right, as you're progressively doing better, you kind of start to have this stigma of like where you wanna play and where you deserve to play. And these conversations start coming up more with depending on how inflated, you know, the head spaces of that given band. I promise the world are, you know, two of the kids are 19 years old, the rest are all early 20s and they're just fucking fired up, man. Like, they just don't know what. - When rise offers to pay to do the free show, like rise records pay for everything. That's why that show is free. They're like, yeah, we'll pay for the venue, we'll do it. You guys wanna do it, they're like, yo, let's do it. Yeah, like they're stoked. And when you watch like when they're at a show or whatever, and like the singer moshes in head walks around the band. So the singer hunter is a, I would say top tier mosher in the current climate of hardcore. He's, so he's doing his thing with I promise the world, but then he's moshing while sets back to back to back. So he's like someone else on the club. - Like that? - Exactly. Honestly, I'm gonna introduce you. You guys can be friends. - Please do. - Where's that from? - Where's that from? - Young knees. - For work. - They're from Fort Worth Dan. - Oh, Texas. - Oh wow. - Yeah, outside of Dallas, McKinney, shot on McKinney, Texas. - That's the first time anyone's ever said that. (laughing) - Like an issue of the world, I think. - So it's exciting to work with a band, but then it's exciting to work with a band that's just down for it, right? They don't complain and they don't act entitled. They're just fucking stoked. - But like that's like you get that karma back. Like that is, hardcore is like one of the things where like the meritocracy is giving a shit. And people can feel that. Like it means the reason AYR is on top of the world right now. Like, "Hon your personal sparkman's giving a shit for as long as I've known him." And it is finally paid off. - You know, paid off and by paid off. - And a bad thing. - And if you don't say it, - I'm gonna touch the most amount of people and they brought endless joy to people. - Right. - Like, and like, I don't know. And I think, well, I promise the world I feel like is having a similar kind of like explosion that I saw with like bands like C.U. Space Cowboy when they started was it was so a thing, different and specific from everything else going on that like all of these little freaks who are going to shows and excited about hardcore.
hardcore excited about metal core, whatever they're excited about. And they see this and they're like, this is what I've been waiting for. This, this band. Right. This is what I've been waiting for. And then it's just exposed because that's you, you've connected and lit a fire under people who don't just like your band. They love your band. Right. And you become their band. I mean, I think that, I mean, Greg and I are working on some stuff all the time. And it's like, I call someone being like, yo, I don't know if you fuck with this band, but like, would you want to do a show for them? Because I feel like you, you, you, if you, if you two met, you would identify on a personal level. And, and like, I think you're the right person to do this show, instead of some corporate person, you know, whatever. Sure. Sure. And, you know, it's like, we'll do a door deal. I don't care. You know, band doesn't care. They want to play the coolest show possible, you know. And being able to have, I think Greg and I probably deal with this a lot more than other people, but it's like, how do you, like, knowing when it's the right time to make those, those phone calls and like, be like, Hey, like, this band thinks you're cool. I don't know if you're aware of them, but like, let's try to do something together to make it work. Right. Yeah. And like, and, and doing those shows and those like on the other side of two, like on a promoter side, like, like, like, I just did glare in New Jersey. They never played New Jersey. They wanted to do a $15 all in ticket. That was, okay, we wanted to $15 advance and day of this. What we're doing. Up top to the manager was all good, easy. And then the show ended up doing like over 400 tickets for their first time playing New Jersey. And it did, and it was awesome because they were stoked. Everybody was stoked. And it was just like, that Maggie. So was that, it was a Maggie's, yeah. Holy shit. It was like, you know, Maggie's is like a, the newer DIY spot that's in the, the basement of a country club in Lakewood, New Jersey, which is like, 15 minutes from the shore. Yeah, yeah, I agree. Pretty close to the shore and they've been doing a lot of shows there. And so we've been hitting up a lot of people like drug church play there, fiddlehead play there, terrors playing there next month. And it's dope because you have now bands proactively asking to play this DIY spot rather than going to the club with the big sound and this, that, and the other. And it's just, it's like rewarding being able to deliver something like that to to your community, right? Like to be able to see drug church in the basement. Like that's fucking sick. Do you foresee that becoming like, do you think nature is healing and people are coming back to that? That like hit a, like a bubble. I get hit like the roof and people are like, you know what's more fun? Like I was watching, I was, I met the talk about it last week on the podcast. Like, I watched video with a paint of truth, uh, King Nine show at the VFW and mass people. What about those glasses? Yeah, dude. It looked like the most fun. Is that the, the, the, the VFW that we played calling? Yeah, that was the one you played, yeah. Dude, uh, well speaking of talking about the kid from my promise the world at that show, um, that private mind band played and I checked it out and I was like, oh, this is fine. And then the singer from that band was mashing all night to every band. And then when they played, you know what? All of a sudden, I really liked it. He's a part of it. I didn't think it was just fine. I thought it was awesome. Like not seeing a lot of that music live also is different sometimes, but also like seeing that the people give a shit changes the way you perceive a band, the energy was just so much better because I knew that this band is like, doesn't care to be mashing for the local band. That's awesome. Right. Didn't that say the outside of the friends in the park a lot? Yes. All the other bands playing stuff like that. Yes. Um, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, it's always fun. I mean, I feel this is what we do. We don't, I paddle. I'll be like, here's 45 minutes on like, you know, what kind of fruit I get in the dressing room at these big rock concerts that they're playing across the, uh, across the world. Um, did you see the picture with him and they'll, uh, with him and Denzel, Carrie? Yeah. And I was like, dude, your glass is ridiculous. They're his glasses. I asked them because yeah, I looked stupid and I wanted to look cool. Um, I also texted him and I was like, yo, you're giving off like that, I don't know if I, I probably should have. Hello kids. Well, that and also like the part and get out when he's like, I would have voted for Obama at their time. Um, that's the vibe he was giving because he's, and he looks like an old man. And like, Denzel, Carrie's like, the coolest looking human being on earth. And it was like, yo, you look like they're like, hey, I'm a senator and I'm meeting this young, my constituent. He looked so out of place like, hang on, it's like, Carrie, he's like, but meanwhile, he's like, Denzel, Carrie's the best dude. He's like, the nicest. I don't, I haven't met him personally, but I was at a show that he was at and I watched him basically go and do like 25 questions. Someone about bands that he just like into and that he was like discovering me in real time. I mean, go wait, that guy's in that band too. That's crazy. That's what I'm talking about. That text to me goes, someone in the backstage area is blasting youth of today. And I go, I'm going to guess it's not the DevTones. I'm like, it's probably Denzel. And I go, go ask. Yeah. Go find out who's listening. I'm like, that's, you know, like, um, I mean, they're not loose song with Denzel. Carrie's fucking ridiculous. It's pretty awesome. And it's awesome. I love it. I just love the first time I heard it because I was just like, this is the fact that this is real is insane. I didn't know, I didn't hear any before I went to Isaac's one day and on his little whiteboard, it just said song with Denzel, Carrie on the whiteboard. And I was like, that a thing. He's like, yeah, I think so. That motherfucker needs a whiteboard. He's got to get it all out of his head. He has to write it down somewhere. He's got too much going on. I think they're listening. I'm me and Mike Shaw from MindFource is starting another band. If you want to be in it, we'll be cool with that. We mean him to talk about it. We were going to reach out to you. Give very busy. But if you want to write a couple of wrists with us, you can be in a band, you know, me and Mike Shaw. You can ask Nick Seminoa how quickly he turned around that music for, for the only Sunday. I mean, he's just for the, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's just like, hey, I would like six songs that sound like this. And he's like, coming right up. And it's there exactly what you want. And he's got another one probably on the on the, yeah. I mean, he didn't, he didn't start two bands. Was he playing guitar on one and singing in the other? No, it's he's singing in both of them. He dropped the, couldn't be me and everybody dies like all for the same day, two different bands. I will say this, you know, Greg, I'm sure this is something. How many fest have you worked on other than back to school jam, which was back to school jam, two day fest ever. Was it always a one day thing? It was one day. Yeah. There's always a one day thing. The only two day thing you did was no one. Right? Yeah. So the two day and then is hellfira was that one day or two days? Hellfira was two days with like a pre show thing that was a separate ticket on the Friday. But then, but then how fast west is two days with a pre show? But then how fast New Jersey 2026 will be three days. So this is, these are your first fest where you're dealing with like multiple days. Yep. Who, how, how difficult is the call? Who are you going to make open the second day? Because it's tough. It's, it's, yeah, it's rough. The Sunday, the Sunday is rough. Who? So the Sunday this year was for hellfira 2025. We got the venue does this like mass thing for church. So before hellfira, there's church. And yeah, it was, it was fucking chaos. But with the show couldn't start till three. Okay. And, and for the door opened and holder is popping. Yeah. Awesome when they opened. And then yeah. Do I feel like an asshole right now? But the band I think different will open the Saturday. Oh, uh, Drake and Black. And they, their set was fucking insane. I heard, I heard that. Senty, senty was like riding hard for them and dude, their set was incredible. So it's, you know, well, yeah, because that senty opened the year, but he was the Saturday, the year before, Belmora, I think played first or second. And they had a fucking unbelievable set. Well, and that's the thing is you have to pick a band that like is, you're, you're tricking people into coming early. You have to trick the kids in the wake and up early. And that was Belmora worked like a fucking charm that year that you guys had them. I think that was the year before we were involved. Yeah. And yeah, then this year, this year, it's, it's everybody dies. They're, they're opening the second day. If you want to see that shit, the, like, what fifth show they played, do you got to wake up early? I mean, it's fun to think like I, I, as a, and the 10D, I always think about that. And like, fuck, that's kind of like, yeah, like FYA one year, I got, I sat in a alarm to go see contention. Yeah. Like FYA, like three years ago, maybe, like I went to, were they, were they opening that day? If not first, they were very early. I mean, that FYA always finds the hype floor to band to like trick their locals into at least showing up and beating the crap out of each other bright and early. So, but I always think about that. I always, like, I also think about like, and we could talk about this too. Like the pre-shows that, like, aftershows, I'm not on aftershows. Is that like the going, I mean, Greg, you don't have any aftershows for health, I see you. Never, never done an aftershowing on bank. Yeah. It's two, I see, I don't, I don't really like like staying up late anymore. I don't really do any of that. So like, being on my feet all day and then like, trying to go do something else, it seems like a lot of stress. Like in a different place. Like it's like, oh, this band ends at 11. Never follows it. Like in a second location. Well, you're in the unofficial official like, after you go for
God knows how long and I go, people will start asking me questions about how and I go, I know nothing about it. I don't want to know anything about it. I want to be in my bed because I have to be up in five hours. Yeah, I got to get back here. We made it for, we made it for CMI last year and I watched that and then went straight home to bed. And I think I ate Wendy's on the way to the show because I was like, there's going to be no time to eat after this. I'm going to have to go straight to sleep. But even like last year making it to the after show, I think the only reason I did that was because my ankle was fucked up and I couldn't mosh all day. So I had the energy to be like, I'm going to go pop. So do you think there's like a tipping point where there's like almost too much? Well, I mean, the pre show for us has always been, hey, come pick your fucking passes up, come pick your tickets up, we'll try to do a cool show that hopefully doesn't sell out. So everyone who wants to go gets into town can go, like it's a cool show. And like this year, you know, thankfully like PBR was really really gracious and like kind of like helped us out with that. You know, where it's like, you don't, you don't do the pre show to make it to make another show happen. It's really to make your day easier the following day. Right. So there's not a thousand of people showing up for their wristband. So your pre show is what missing link, right? Like missing like, missing link, uh, sissy boys and everybody. Intermediate, yeah, red joys, Kings command, which that's Spinelli's or that's a morale. No, it's a portal. A portal. Okay. Honestly, if you if you asked me one thing, I had a question that I wanted to ask everybody and you don't have to say like, Oh, I would, I would kick this band off and do this instead. But man, the wish we would have, I wish we would have not had, couldn't be me open the pre shows since they're playing that benefit the next week. Yeah. I would have given that to another young kid band, but it was too late to re-nege on like them playing the fast because a few of those kids, that's the only way they're getting into the fastest playing the pre show. Yeah. I also like, you know, I probably weren't giving Eric a shout. Eric Snyder, who's like, bouable legend, like, worked at every, you know, every show back in the day, fully blade printing and manufacturing. Like, I'm sure, you know, some people have probably seen he's been diagnosed with cancer, you know, and so he's doing a show for, you know, to help pay some of his medical bills because not everything is covered, you know, and he's still helping in organizing the security, like, he's still helping on the ground. He helped organize, like, we have a bar this year and Mag Bar, one of the venues we do a bunch of shows, like, they were running and operating the bar for us and he was integral in making that happen, you know, because I think he is probably Louisville's like unspoken hero of like, doesn't take any credit for anything, but literally is the guy who knows the guy for every, like, makes everything happy. Yeah. And that's March 7th, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Or Colin or Tyled. Do you know the lineup off the top yet? I know. Weapon X, Gates to Hell inclination, brain seed, which is the drummer from walk alone, like, thrash metal thing. Couldn't be me. And I think that might be it. Oh, two inuses. And there's no, no online tickets or anything like that. You have to go to a local business. Yeah, you got to go to a local business. That's a good old building. That's a good. Kids are going to show it's a bit. It's a portal. Yeah. Kids have been driving from out of town to buy physical tickets. That's cool. Shit. Yeah, free. And then Greg, you have several shows before and after the fest. So the first one you said was Wednesday. You know, Wednesday, February 18th tomorrow, technically, right? Sure. Yeah, it's coming out tomorrow. Downtown LA at 1720 warehouse. And that's I promise the world that more start today. It's a free show. First come first serve. Should keep pull up first 250 kids in line. I'll get a free special variant of I promise the world's new EP on tape. So yeah, rise did those up and given 250 of them out to the first people in line. All right. That's crazy. That's awesome. Yeah. That's a really good stuff. Yeah, and you got free tape. Actually paying you to come. Right. Exactly. You're making out of that. That's a pretty sick deal. Think about if you get to the mosh Tyler, you know, brother dude, I've been trying to figure out a way to do it all my whole life. You got to get like what's the like the copper fit like all the things that people wear like when they injure their knees and your own bones. You got to get you got to get a sponsorship from that being like, I can't remember what brand the ankle brace I had to get. But it was like the they were like, this is the good one to get. And then every now and then I'll be at a show or something and I'll see somebody with anger. Rosemary, they get the good one because yeah, you really went insurance really covered it. I know you guys cry. Are you doing anything a program that I hear that see that? Term oil and disembodied are playing program on Sunday. The chicken. What? Let me see. That is Sunday to 22nd of February. But that that show sold out like as soon as it went on sale. Yeah. They sold out of what is gate wreck a shop. No shit. Yeah. And the dude. I think it's named Dave Mandel. Is that him? So he did that show and funny enough, I work with with turmoil and I guess they gave him my email to email me just like to figure out the details and he definitely thought I was some suit. So he definitely sent me like kind of a shifting email, talking like I was some piece of shit, fucking live nation rep or something. You're a Mr. Felt Shadow. Good. And then the same in the same email back I was like, yeah, you got any extra suicide file Twilight test you could sell me. And then I think once I asked him that, then he kind of was like, okay, this dude's actually like a shit, but funny funny funny interaction. The email dude. Suicide file Twilight underrated record. People always talk to him. Seven inches. Twilight's incredible. Part, I mean, honestly, Suicide file perfect discography. Yes. Absolutely every song good man. Every single distinguishable from another song too. They were on the other year too. I know LDB. Yeah. So they're on the list for next year. Like do you carry over lists? Yes. Yeah. Yeah, right. Like, it's like, we didn't get him this year. We got him next year. Yeah, death threats still on the list. Death threats from on the list for like four years. At this point. I mean, that happens. There was a lot of people. Is it being out? Yeah, so they posted that they're not going to play until 2028 or something. They're going to play that 100 demons record release. And then I guess I was like, is our last show only show in 2026 is the 100 demons record release. Whatever. Pretty crazy. Well, great. Perfect. It is. It is. Do they all think they're still going to be alive? Jesus. Like they would. I mean, there he is. That's right. Those those are great. I mean, yeah, but then anything can happen man. And you know, fucking knuckles is older than me and that boy looks like he's fucking 35. My friend Eric just lost a bunch of weight and then got died and got like leukemia. So I mean, it can happen. Yeah, nothing can happen. I wonder what they're I mean, well, Jamie push button is going to be a little bit a little busy. He's got some stuff going on. So he's, you know, he can't be playing with us. Yeah, true. When we get to suicide island Brooklyn literally stole the show. So if you if any. I still wish I had not. I wish I had come to that show. I should have dropped everything in German to New York. I'm the idiot pretty sweet. They really fucking they destroyed they beat everybody like it was embarrassing. And then I feel like that kind of brought American nightmare back from the dead that show. Like Scanlon resurrected them and. No, no special. I feel like. But the game is the fucking game for that shit. I don't know how like. I mean, I know how he does it. He's a fucking smart dude. He's always thinking. What do we want to talk about the fest? What else can we want to go through the lineups? Do you want to. I mean, we can do whatever. Colin, I call it what would you change if you could change something besides Heywire returning. Anything off the top of your head. I think this year and we've talked about it a bunch. It's been challenging because all of us do so much other shit. You know, so it's like we've been all pulled. Life has pulled us all in a million different directions. And I think we figured out I think how to navigate things going forward. But it's like finally at the end of the year, basically, where we're about to start booking and planning for the following years. So I think it's really just like how do we, you know, how do we involve younger people, who maybe don't have full time jobs that are? I mean, Ashton's been in so much communication with all the younger kids and getting them involved as volunteers. Yeah. Like she's moving kids who've been volunteering the last couple of years up to like stage hand stuff this year and like helping with like setup and whatnot. So like there's a lot of kids who are going to be like learning a lot more on like how the background stuff works with the fest, which is going to be helpful for next year. Yeah. And they're all like, I mean, the core of us like backs as a full time job. Now, you know, like Ashton's always had a full time job. He always had a full time job. Myself and Jake have somehow managed to balance this in various capacities too. You know, and it's just like how do we and Sam obviously still has triple B. How's it going to say? Let's not forget Sam. Yeah. It's like a BBB. Yeah. And it's like, but it's like we all are just, you know, how do we? Like we all love this and care about it, but it's like it's the youth that always will move it forward. You know, and I think that's been the biggest challenge where it's like.
And we're going at it at nine o'clock on a Friday night because that's the window that we all have to kind of like digest or You know trying to plan calls around three different time zones because God knows where everyone's at, you know on a given day I'm sure you know all about that tough Yeah, I think we're here again Oh, because Pat is in Europe, but he's usually not in Hobart and Yeah, and Bob's got kids and so yeah, it's usually I work all day and then get on a hardcore podcast Greg, well, what would you change would you change anything? Yeah, there are things you would change Bigger venue Well, you think it's a perfect starting point I think observatory for health as well as the perfect starting point We did it was very like very collaborative and we were just kind of different to first year that We've worked together the five-blesson never booked a show together or or anything So it was like very interesting like getting on the phone with You know three guys from California that bookshows in California and a guy in New Jersey that does a record label on a guy in New Jersey The book shows and kind of like figuring out what it looks like and I think it came together really awesome like I'm stoked on On health as West like I'm stoked on notice and victim. I said it before and I'll say it again like I never got to see you You got everything you want it Literally notice the victim and the beautiful mistake are the two that I'm stoked for That's that's like I'm good like now that any kids like our shout out kids like us because that's family I mean never never yeah, you say never worked with any of them but like they booked your bands before like yeah Yeah, but I mean like booking a show together is such a such a different thing. Yeah, like booking a show and talking about bands like Like oh my god like when I said the beautiful mistake like half of them like what the fuck is this dude talking to them? My boy Nate from Zabalvo was like not Greg's got something there which was fucking awesome because he's the last guy on the call I thought was gonna be like I like this idea. I really thought they're all gonna do shut the fuck up But everyone he was fired up on it And the observatory is awesome like I think like Because it's got the two stage situation, you know, and they're down like no barricade and like you know, it's like it's a cool It's just a cool spot like And like they do shows in the fucking parking lot if you really wanted to you know, yeah, it's like We'll play the park story so far play the parking lot right? Yeah, we did a mocked lose show there too There's been a bunch of really cool shows there over the years, but it's like again There's businesses there so you can't use it on a Friday Yeah, that's all yeah the parking situation was stressful, but you know we get we get through it, you know We can't like the big parking lot like LDB over here, you know The parking lot is the ice If you're thinking about parking under a semi truck anywhere We don't have to say we don't have to send Dave out to direct traffic or anything He can just he can just enjoy knowing that people are gonna know where to park You're so literally won over a car Announcement because you know your car is gonna get towed and then 500 people have to run out while band is playing like Then the band is pissed off, but I'm like what are we gonna do we gonna have 500 cars to go? You know For each you guys is there one band that like Your would be like you're like I can't believe we booked blank not that Hasn't happened yet that that can happen not like like inside out or fucking something ridiculous Like is there one band that you're like that if I could get fucking blank for next year There's been a couple and I think Being able to do a bituary a couple of years back for me that was crazy. That was the moment where I was like This in this environment is going to be so fucking sick and it was and we we tried to do Crowbar last year I think and this year and we didn't care about I was gonna ask because I remember room It's really yeah the two headlines are safe today and crowbar. I was like wow We were we were trying to do that and it just it hasn't pinned out so if anyone's got a line to Anyone in crowbar Hit us up Well, wasn't he having like back surgery or something like that and like that was like one of the things that inhibited this year for Like because I think that was I tried to get crowbar too Yeah, I remember hearing that from the same well here. Yeah, I remember hearing that but like when if I got turned away because of a Of health issue or something like that Um mine already happened last year and it was cold world. I could I that was like my favorite band when I was a kid So like the the fact that they played last year, but I mean, I honestly doesn't really count because I sat there like a bitch on stage the whole time with a fucked up ankle But It gates to hell months prior or like five weeks prior because I record lease. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you were you were there You started limping around afterwards. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you were there I'm lost out your band was the last band. I got to mosh to before I hurt my ankle Up new home my own record coming out in the spring on days check it out All right, no sign by Tyler. There you go. Yes Yes, so have you hurt yourself to hold my own? No, I hurt myself to gates to hell But but hold my own was the last band. I made it through the entire set Which is also a shot at you by the way He was like I get made it through that no problem first. No, I'm saying you can make you can maintain your health by mosh I've never not lost that again. I tried to mosh with death metal band You get a bully rank a lot immediately. Yeah, because some dickheads gonna push you from behind really really hard Why you're two-step thing and make your make your ankle go full 360 mode. Oh, you blow out your HDMI. I mean, not good when you rip it What about you Greg? Is there one band? You're like if I can make this happen. I would I mean, I don't say make happen. There's a bunch for sure, but honestly made happen. I'm gonna say buried alive Back to school jam 2018 that to me was like so crazy the idea of doing That because that year was folly buried alive power trip. Yeah, so that to me was like Yeah, that that's still like buried on buried alive was a huge one The kid was that before they played this is hardcore It was after I think it was the first one of the second I think it was the second one after they did this is hardcore They did buried alive and then so this was third I guess gotcha I'm sorry. They did that why again. This is hardcore buffalo then New Jersey. I think I think there's a couple things too Where it's like there's stuff that I would really care about, but I don't think would make any sense in a little You know, and it's there. It's all like very long island centric stuff growing up, you know like what? Like the strider are you kidding me? Let's get the strider on the bill and I will fuck it up dude. Come on I'll make my return to the pitch just for that. I'd love to see a good VOD set Dude, I would fucking kick ass But would that make sense it it wouldn't make sense to look at all? I don't know I think kids would fuck with VOD, but not to the level that I mean not talent tails out of school But those dudes aren't leaving the couch for nothing Yeah, well, hey, they were Have to play some things they would have to play six p.m. Stay tuned to health fest New Jersey announced okay It's coming soon help fest New Jersey. We might see a finger too about VOD and is that your fourth weekend Joy for some joy three four five Jackson, New Jersey You go to fucking soon you go to great adventure You ride the right across the highway from great adventures literally right across the U9 right now That's that's not very nine, but but it is right across the street from great right across the highway from great adventure We could watch the fireworks on July 4th. You'll be there right the right in view VOD check check back next week So for all the people that are not in New York and New Jersey great adventure is the six flags in our area Yeah, I always knew it is great adventure. I didn't know there was anything else like cold six flags I just thought it was like yeah, it's great venture Um, all right, so vision of disorder confirmed playing And what kind of places this vet what what what kind of joint is this place in Jacksonville Jackson We got we got some some golfing stuff going on over there. We got some 3D space ships. There's ton of stuff going on There were supposed to be a show there that got moved six flags like years and years ago. Is that is this Remember you're talking about like bamboozle or stance Yeah, I feel like there was something that like was supposed to be at your space ships and any golf and then it got moved to Actually, don't know I don't think it is though. I don't think it is though because the guy The guy that got banished from the music industry that did those festivals he apparently went to this place A couple months ago and tried to tour it and they they Cool this name and figured out who it was and they They rebandished him to the he got exiled again to the to the other verse Wow, so changing that game all right, um, got it All right, so it's July 4th weekend By 4th weekend, I mean hey, most precious blood has the invite you just let me know, okay? I know there's another slumitations, but you just let me know I mean there's no limitation to me if you give me a back in bandman At this point I give up. Oh, no, but I mean literally legitimately He knows a couple guys that might be able to do that. I'm gonna do that But I've done it for more goddo. I've done it for more goddo is all I'm gonna say okay Do you I mean do you remember when more goddo played FIA and I literally had to introduce him to his band and I was like Hey, this is Lenin. This is
is Morgato and they practiced in the parking lot. He's lucky that Lenin is like a fucking wonder-kinned and can play anything because like, I literally, I was like, this is my boy Lenin, this is Morgato, I guess that's your drummer. And they practiced outside on like fucking like, and they pulled it off, it was somehow good. And it was like three dudes from, maybe it was losing, I forget who it was, and then Morgato just being Morgato. What was I gonna say? I was gonna say about, all right, so Jacksonville, Jackson, July 4th. Is he gonna be multiple stages again this year? - It's gonna be the same vibe, a AB, A-D. - So it was like, right next to the year of 2026? - I hope so, I hope it turns out that way in the last band, it's seven out of five. - Flip, like flip stop, yeah. - Yeah, exactly. - I left right before that happened 'cause we watched, I forget who was right before that, maybe prayer for cleansing or something. And then we were like, I was like, I can defend myself, but I can't defend both of us. I'm like, let's get out of here. And then I just heard the next day, they're like, people got killed. Someone ate like, someone ate a boy's head and died. I was like, what the fuck? The internet really exploded. So maybe I don't have that. So you heard a bad luck 13, we'll be closing out, how fast 2026. What else do we wanna talk about the lineups? Do you wanna point out any newer bands that are on the fast that you think people should pay attention to? We can do whatever you'd like. I mean, I can go through some of them. I mean, it really scared me to put out the best record of last year, one of them in my opinion. Top three. - Are we playing health fest? Who are you? - They play health beer on the little summer. They're not buying health rest. - Are they playing health fest, New Jersey? - They play health, they play last year. So we try, I mean, I have a very similar mentality to what these guys said. It's like trying not to repeat the same stuff and doing things that are different. So it's not just the same festival and 12 different markets, just with different names, right? You wanna do something that's gonna be different enough that people will be excited to go to FLA, will be excited to go to LDB, would be excited to go to health fest. Or it's definitely a lot of different. - It's scary I didn't put out such a good LP. They probably wouldn't be playing LDB this year 'cause they played last year. - So is that a conversation? I mean, do you have that conversation amongst all the folks that are like booking stuff across the country? We, especially with tied down, like Curtis, - You're so close. - So close. - Every year and it's always in a two to three calendar month window, you know? We've had the flip-flop dates a bunch, just because of venues or what have you or band availability. And I think it's like this, we've always kind of done that where we all kind of talk, but like this year in particular, we were like, "Hey, no one's. " - Yeah, let's not fuck each other. - Yeah, and like we, like for our headliners and other bands that are like, you know, you might not get to see a bunch. It's like we tried to get foundation last year and foundation was like, you know, and tied down where they're gonna do us. So like let's not do that and let's go do something else. - Right, that's the essence. - But then there's bands where it's like, it's tried and true, like you know, it makes sense to do both, but let's do it in a way where it's not. - Yeah, like hold my own and combust. - Yeah, I know. - No, we did play last year. Hold my own, we did play last year. - I know, you didn't do it. - But you played FYA. - We did play FYA, that is true. - You also coming out this year. - The text message I got, I think from you was, hold my own Midwest hardcore. - That's right, we represent Chicago. - Yes. - So you sound like Jersey, you and the bulldoze, man. I sound like that. - Yeah, I guess we do represent your Jersey too, but we were, I mean, Chicago's really the place that gave a fuck about us. Like on the demo, nobody acknowledged us in New Jersey, they could give a fuck. Now I think we get a little more love there, but Chicago from the bat, like, - Yeah, you're like selling out South Teranian in Chicago and stuff. I mean, yeah. - Yeah, it's been, it's really it put on for us and that's like I could never ignore that, you know? - I'm not, I'm not bad about that. - I'm not bad about that. - You know what I'm saying? - You're in the rumble. - Exactly, yeah, yeah. - I'm in the rumble, rumble, rumble also, they just announced the dates. - That's in general. - That's in general. - It's in general. - It's in general. - Yeah. - I tell you the dates, it's July and it's like, which is gotta be like, yeah, you got like, that in Chicago. - July 17, 18, check it out, why not soon? - And that's too close to my wedding for me to go to that. So you're getting married, thanks for the invite. Appreciate it. - Would you come to Louisville? - Brian Wallace, I'll take a road trip. You want me to be security, 'cause that's what you think of me anyway. You're like, hey, you're big. You're probably a security guard and not a singer, whatever. - It's fine. - It's cool. Well, if you want to go back to the lineup, if anybody's listening to this podcast, you know that you need to pay attention to No Guard, 'cause Bob can't shut up about No Guard. - It's true. - Sprinkled Illinois? - Yes, Sprinkled Illinois. Basic needs from Louisville is on a heater right now. If you are coming to the fest and you've never heard basic needs, you definitely have to watch them. C4 day two, that's all it is for me. C4 day two. - I learned the voice. - Yeah, it is the best set at FYA, best record of last year. I know I just said that about the scare record, but I think the C4 went in. That's right, but the last year. Fucking unreal. - Face to pain. - It's gonna be awesome. - Yes, face pain's gonna be awesome. My other top three record of last year, so yeah, Lennon gets to get in there twice. - See, that's how you know someone loves far-query. He's literally just named top record three different times. - I mean, that's what I'm like, I'm excited. - He can't make a choice. It's just like, I love that. - That's what's up. - Dude, the one this year that I was so stoked on that I couldn't believe that we made happen. And I can't remember if this was all you calling or if this was a Sam combo, but all out war playing the Fest is gonna be fucking awesome. - That was me and Sam, I think. And we're like, we should try to do this and then try to out Alex and Nicole and they kinda just, really, I think they got in Mike's ear and like, you gotta do this. - Yeah, they whispered. All out war whispered. - They were supposed to be on the knock loose record where we show that we played. - Oh, really? - There was someone else, no, it was supposed to be them. And then Minecraft ended up doing it because they couldn't do it. Yeah. - I told Vital, 'cause they were like, yeah, he's like, oh, a lot of war wouldn't get back to him whatever. And I was like, you should just get mine for us instead. And he's like, all right. And then smart move. (laughing) That was a great show. - Karma. - Yeah, I mean, dude, I don't know if you remember during Karma set, like his were diving head first into those bike racks. - Yeah, there was no one to stage that on. They were just jumping head first into bike racks. I don't understand what was going. I was supposed to help kids not do that. And I couldn't stop them from jumping to just, yeah, their deemings just going off decided to do that. - It was insane. - That show was so funny for so many reasons because I feel like it was the return of like shows to headliners at that point and no one had done it in God knows how long. 'Cause they were like, a venue that like, whatever metal band or indie rock band would play and like, you'd find out a band you like was playing there and be like, this shit fucking sucks, I don't wanna go. - That's where I saw a converge play. - Yeah. - Oh, why? - And I remember we walked in and I was like, I think I pointed to Tyler and I gave him, we like had Eric print funny security shirts, I think too. And we gave one to you. And I remember we introduced all the security guards and go, just watch what this guy does and stick in the back. (laughing) - Yeah, there's a problem. - Yeah, if somebody's a problem, he'll let you know. If somebody's don't do anything to anybody unless he's pointed him out to you. And then I didn't point him out. - They're down in its cool, which is awesome. - It's a cool venue. - New owners now and like, it's something to go. - What venue is it? - Hell, I had vibes. - It's where you play. - Yeah. - It's where I just read this. - That's not his cool. - But it's like, it's owned by the people who own the palladium now and I don't know if any of you know Justin who like books a bunch of stuff over there but like he's, he's been booking shows for 10 or 15 years and like he called me and was like, "If you guys want to do anything here, just let me know. We're down." So it's like, it's very cool to have another spot in the city I think. - Yeah, I think the only other show other than that not-klu-show and then the time I saw Converge with Marlon if his war in some girls played that as well. - Nice. - Hey, Breed and Terror did a show there that no one went to. Because we all knew we would just get thrown out. - Well, no one of the hardcore kids went to the show because we were like, there's just no point in us going to the show. - Two or three years ago where it was life of Agony and sick of it all, we're playing there during LDB fest. Yeah, and you tried to be like, "Hey, you guys should just not do that and play the fest instead and play too much hardcore kids." And they didn't get back to you. - Not only did they not get back to me, the promoter of that show, passive aggressively was messaging all of us on social media being like, "Oh, fuck that guy. Come fight me in the parking lot." - He's sure. - Wasn't that the same day as LDB? - Yes. - Yes. - But you say that and I miss that part, but yeah. - Yes. - I remember seeing that like, "Oh, that's a terrible idea." - Terrible idea. - Yeah. - They would have murdered both of them able to kill on LDB. - There were actually two, I saw T.U.I there twice. Once on the 10 for 10 tour when they did that, that big crazy thing. I'm sure you remember that Greg. It was like, mad ball. I think it was the well. - It was the well. - Oh yeah. - Actually, VOD for VOD. - Yep. - If this is also on Broken Wings and returned to Louisville after that one. - No, they didn't play that. - No, no, they played another show where it, the incident occurred. - Yeah, I think so.
I might have been at that with terror. But, and then I saw T UI play with Polar Bear Club and fuck, maybe every time I die, but every hardcore kid was still in line when T UI played. So we could all see through the doors while we were waiting in line, no one watching "Trap Under Ice." And we'd listen to the whole set from the line. But that T UI, or that 10th Pretend Show, Freddie Madball had to fly home because of a family emergency. So all that night, all the rest of the tour sang the Madball set. And I still contend that was probably Scott Vogel's best day of his life, 'cause he sang half the Madball set. And I can remember specifically, one of the guys from Death Portis Honor and somebody else did pride. Dave Wood did demonstrate my style. Martin did for my enemies. Like I can remember a specific song some people did at that show. - I remember this with that one. - I know, right? It's crazy. - I think it's fucking steep, yes, through the straight edge. But yeah, it was an awesome fun show. And the night before that show, it was in Tennessee and the show got shut down because a Christian, the singer from "Crime and Stereo." - Yeah. - It was up there. - Right? He was mashing to somebody and got like, someone started like fighting him in the whole tour. - And it was a riot. - Yeah, started beating the shit out of everyone was just fighting at the show in the show got shut down. - I remember hearing that. Someone did a cover or something, he was mashing and he got like that. - Yeah, and Marauder, right? - Yeah, Marauder cover. - Yeah. - Yeah, that's hell. - That was on that point. - I think it was Will Tadai. I think it was Will Tadai, did it? Marauder cover. - Or was it "Fingers Cross"? - "Fingers Cross"? - It was "Fingers Cross", which is Sammy's other band, yeah. Yeah, it was-- - Yeah, that one. - So that's where it was unique because it was 10 bands or $10. And the lineup was rotate every day. day X, they would be playing in the middle day Y. It would just be one. So like the top, I think the top headwinder is rotating and then the rest of the line is rotated. So it was like, you could be the biggest band or the most high band at the moment. But you could be opening the show that given day. So it's like, it would never work now because people are just like, money is, everything costs too much money. And like, you need more money to do it. But that concept is pretty incredible. It's like, it's like, you know, yeah, how like we've all talked about how cool that would be able to pull something off like that now. And it's just like, it's not feasible. Yeah. And you couldn't do 20, three, very 10 for 20. Like that would that would it would have to do something like that. And then there would have to be that buy in from every band that like, I don't care. I just want to play a cool show. Yeah. It did suck though. That show did have a bear kid. I mean, to show in New York was a terminal five, which is as well. And I remember being at work and being like, fuck, climate stereo is on now. And it's 330. There was so many bands on it that start like. And like in New York shows have to usually end by 11. I remember when when Lodney was giving away all that money to all those bands that it's like every band could get like, you just get for showing up. You'd get 1500 bucks or whatever, like post pandemic. And someone was like, we should just rebook the 10 for 10 tour through all with that. That'll help supplement. There you go. Oh, yeah. On the road again thing, we played two shows in Brooklyn and we got that. And I was like, all right, it took me a $7 cab ride to get here. They gave us gas money, like $500 and gas cards and $500 in just like walking around money. And I was like, on top of a guarantee. And I was like, okay, I literally can see my house from here, but I will take that money and I will spend it up. Yeah, I was like, and they came up like buyouts. And I was like, that was Tom. That was poison the while and Tom being nice to us. Like he didn't have to do that, obviously. That sure was awesome. It was ex-eyed. Sky came following us and PT Dub two nights and around. It was awesome. Dude, ex-eyed fucking sick, man. Yo, that song with me. Great. Second. No, the whole record. The whole record is good. Yeah, I don't know for sure. I hope they do more stuff. Yeah, Tyler's an incredible book list. I he's a talented mother fuck, but like I know far and hands takes presence a lot of times, but I feel like. Excited, just so good. They just we played a show or a constraint play to show with them at a VFW removal and they did a refuse cover. And afterwards a bunch of the young kids were like, what was that? Like they don't care, but as refused to check it out. Yeah, it's like you should get into it. You'd probably love it. So what else we got on the on LDB? Say I like I don't know if it's worth going through the whole lineup just because of time, but I mean we did talk about it on one of the episodes. Yeah. Have I ever seen this one? Tara. Tara or no second. First night is a saves the day. Second nights. Tara. Okay. First night is saves the day. Big boy found a resting place. Yeah. That's a weird fucking. We haven't posted the day by day. My announcement was supposed to post them tomorrow. Yeah. Maybe we could read that. Yeah. Let's see that. You could do that. We'll do it again. Yeah. I guess the other day line up. So yeah, it's a first day we've got a who last last opening beyond all doubt struck Indiana HC wreckage X gargoyle X basic needs no guard fatal round contention mongrel orthodox hold my own scarab reverse that mongrel's plan Saturday. We had to we are scouting. Where's mongrel playing on Saturday? Did we we have to figure it out? They're on tour with Tara. We brought this up today. Will you wear work? I think was it work? Sauce. We'll we're figuring something out orthodox hold my own scarab combust final resting place. Big boy saves the day. And then day two we've got everybody dies opening the final agony face the pain. Deblock. State side prevention. I'm going to guess mongrels playing somewhere with hate burning lords C for rock block because all bands share members. So they are just going to switch instruments. I love it. Yes. So with hate is playing way higher than they probably would have played otherwise. And it works out. It's going to fucking crud record rules. And I'm going to die of a fucking hard attack during that three bands set bulldoze, crush your soul, division of mind, or might be division of mind or crush your soul. All out war, gridiron, on broken wings, Tara. Those are some murderers. Rose. Dude, when I'm looking at like when to eat for this weekend, I just decided I'm not going to do you guys have dinner break? No. Well, that I mean, Tyler, we can talk about the vendors for food. I think works. Oh, yeah, we've got a lot of vendors for food. We've got Shahar local vegan restaurant, Rift Valley Tacos, which is a place that Ashton just had at flyover fest and asked them on the spot. Would you guys want to come tell DV? Rift Valley? Yeah, Rift Valley. It's like vegan tacos. I had it. It could not tell. Honestly, I think they might be lying. Where are they from? Where's Rift Valley? I think they're from Oklahoma. No, they're from Texas. Yeah, they're from Texas. They're driving up. And because of that, we're just putting them inside. So they're not going to be in a truck. They're going to be in the actual vendor room. And then we might have quills secured today, Colin. I don't know if we'll have coffee this year, which is dope. I don't drink coffee, but apparently other people do. Apparently, I'm not really sure if you heard of that. I've heard. And then Spinelli's, which is crucial to the function of Louisville hardcore and Louisville will be outside with red top dogs. I believe we've got that locked in as well today, Colin. So you'll be happy with that. Hello, they're hot dogs. Yeah, you know, at least pizza is good. It's all right. As a New Yorker. Yeah, yeah, it's great for out of state pizza. It's up there. Yeah, I was completely, it's completely yeah, better than replacement pizza. Very good. What about you, Greg? Are you feeding people? Just like riff and just mashing. Just mashing. That's what I'm going to eat for the whole day. I'm going to have a protein bar and a banana and maybe an apple in your pre-show store's day. Yeah, so I'm pretty sure. So yeah. And yo, have you still not seen the Cissy boys, Tom? I have not. You've seen the Cissy boys on New York. Greg God. Legend to Cissy boys are in 30 years. We're going to be talking on our death to heads about the Cissy boys. Will you be at the pre-show, Greg? I will not be unfortunately. Damn. I can only be there on Friday. I'm coming in for Thursday night and I have to leave Saturday morning and sucks. That does suck. I'm Bob. I'm sad about it. Mr. Beast, all Greg and he has to go meet up with Mr. Beast. Whatever. Fuck he does on YouTube. We also, we had to swap dead on your feet from PA. We had to drop so lethal method from Tennessee, which is a sick, like bouncy hardcore band is replacing them. Fucking her national respect. Shout out. Really cool, man. Tom, have you heard Kings command? I know Bob's played it. Or fucking awesome. Dude, what a fucking band. The little kids and when I saw them at the Badby Record release, they did a jail of depression. Wow. A song not on streaming and you know what, kids, fucking knew it and it was so cool. Break down. Just get all that stuff on. Fucking right. Just get it together. Just get it available for people. Come on. We'll talk off the air. Yeah, let's get it. We're close. We're close at all that part. Let's get a vinyl reissue as well. Well, that also was very close and it will fall.
It's laid out. I heard I saw the lay out. I saw the layout a friend of ours named Steve had all of it. He showed it to me outside. I was like, this is awesome. And it was a good thing. Not happening. God, that's so fucking stupid. What is Steve's criminal call again? STB. It's wrong. Yeah. So that's the good. Okay. He showed us together. Is he? Huh? Wasn't he? Didn't we see it together outside of like BNB? That's why we did see we were sitting outside of our great. Okay. But yeah, he put out the crown of the ones like he put out the box, the record that came in like the the cigar box. Oh shit. I remember that. Mentally VIXX. It's the fact that he came out. He's doing the most incredible like reissues and just way out packaging in general. And it's down. Yeah. It's fucking awesome. Yeah. It's it's a show for some day. Dejon. Great. Come on. You could you could tell it to somebody. Come on. You know, period after it is currently your art out there, man. Like the people the kids or the kids need it. Yeah, I really do. Yeah. Like what's the harm and just having it out there for any band? Not just them like in general. Yeah. Some will do it for you. We can talk about this afterwards. Got it. But I've got some thoughts. All right. Good. And then so that's the one of the dates on that Tyler. If you just want to be because that's two weeks, 20s, 26, 27th and 28th of February. Yep. Right. Yep. And then the week before you can be out and ball me sunny California. Yeah. We don't have as much fancy food things, but I will. I will talk about some of the younger bands. I like that idea. So let's talk about some of the younger bands on Friday. We got staple opening. The newer band out of out of I think Adrian lived in OC. I don't know if he still does. He's it don't band load the nine LA band crazy and saying Keith Yan base messed up insanity. Negative forward from New Jersey. I saw him take down records. Just came out. You checked that out. I don't have them at the show. Treasure Saul. I promised the world out of pocket. Bloodshed featuring Vic on vocals. Nasty Vic on vocals. Oh, dude. That shit's awesome. Yeah. That record is very cool. Great. Down shit. Fucking rules. Yeah. They do. They're also playing that 100 demons record release and Connecticut. That just got announced. We'll also get help us New Jersey. Love bunch of. And so headliner on Friday is. We got kick back and down press around the constellation room. And before kick back as a lot. Do you not going to talk about sin against sin? Sin against sin. That's a good one. You like sin against sin? No, it's not for me, but what a fucking reaction that band gets. What do you like normal tuning? Right? You don't like like drop A or something. You like. Yeah, no, no. Man, man, I so I've never I never really met Frado. Even though we've been in a bunch of shows together and I talked to him when we played for the children. And I knew he was in sin against sin. So I was like, I'm going to watch it. And I walked up and I was like, Oh, Mosh, if there's room, there wasn't. There was no room. It was crazy. And then at F.A. I was like, you know what? It's at least like Mosh music. I'll go in like Mosh if I can. And I couldn't I couldn't do it. There was no room. They get very large reactions from all the crazy that even kid. The other singer is one of the best moshers in America hands down. I feel like I really you think so in the biggest pants, the biggest pants I've ever seen. Who would say would that your top for like younger kids? Would you put him like a top top rated? Have you seen him? Spend kick. I see. It's it's it's some I can't do that. This is hard. I don't know. It's a more lower conversation when I do in this I'm fucking on the hardcore podcast. That's hard to come on this podcast. I'm going to talk about Mosh. Tyler innovated the Mosh pit conversation. Okay. I love. And then naming all of his like I blew out this, you know, at this show, he like can give you like he's like a pro football player. How do you remember it? Well, I'll never know. No, because he definitely took a lot of shots at Ed, but I need this. I need to fill out whatever paperwork to like have my brain studied when I'm dead. Like yeah, like CTA absolutely. You'll be like, he has the brains of a 97 year old man with Alzheimer's. It's like, but he's 35. All right. So day two, day two, Greg, we get into it. It did my run through the whole thing. What am I doing here? I don't want to do. All right. So you got the pre show is Wednesday. Wednesday. I didn't know Archangel's playing. That's crazy. How you think that's going to go? Archangel's playing, but then the singer of Archangel singing for morning again, which is going to be fucking insane. Because Kevin got hurt or something. He couldn't do it. Right? Yeah. Wasn't it a theme you supposed to do it at some point? I thought Damien was doing it, to be honest. And then I guess the announced that when Kevin announced that he got hurt, that Damien was going to do it for this show. But I didn't see that. I just kind of assumed, but but the singer of Archangel's saying it for it is. That's very interesting. That's the second cool. Boundwork with my boy. What Archangel played business hardware 2017? I think that's right. And there's that was fucking incredible. I haven't played since. So that's eight years, nine years. Who's saying for just embodying now? Because they don't might go. Yeah. Mike from from the Denver and yeah, he's got a great voice. Will you at the Jersey show that we play with Archangel? Is that the one where Archangel got? Yeah, Garfields, American Legion. Yeah. Was it Garfield? It was what it was like. What was the fest calls? It wasn't a fest. It was just shy lured length of time, Archangel shattered realm MPB on Earth and somebody else. And I just heard somebody and I just heard symbols hit the ground. Like it was like the end like a. But it wasn't like I turned around. I was like, oh, there's a fight on the stage. Yeah. It was. And that was over veganism, right? The city was no longer vegan or is that not like I think it was something like that. A friend of ours. I think of a friend of ours. Like I do that. I knew back in the day like from like the Asbury area, like held a sign in front of them and. And then they said they called them out and they'll get the sign and then they were like, oh, my friends are way scarier than me and they all got you know, but yeah, it was it was bad. So all those people that's already in me for fucking state vegetarian and vegan for all these years. See what happens. That's what I was talking about. And vegetarian. That's why I was never vegan. I'm vegetarian. I've been for a long time. Get out of here. It's like two. It wasn't I. Yeah. That's like I didn't know that respect. So in 10 answers and I just don't know. So we got I promise the world is Wednesday. What do we got Thursday? Thursday is the pre show at the constellation room at the observatory ATV. Asshara. And that's a smaller room, right? That's like the top. Right. I guess our castle needs to be a small left hand path. It should be a cool show. All right. 300 cap. I think it's. Three on real. Oh, shit. I think it's like three or three 50 at 18V and OC. It should be dope. Left hand path. This must be a new band. It is a newer band. Dude left hand path Chicago hardcore. Oh, shit. That's right. Dude. That's a good. That's a good. Hardcore not to be old. Just Google. Go to this cogs and put your band name in there and be like, I mean. That Chicago band put out one seven inch and the singer did a guest spot on a week and not just song. So it's they didn't do enough to for someone and where's the whole name? I'm sure it would come up if you googled it though. Yeah, maybe not. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. You know, sometimes people pick bad names that no one was allowed to say in 2026. And no one's going to steal your band name because it's a slur. Like the Marlories. You'll never have to worry. One of my favorite Greg Mongo story. And you can confirm it. Deny this. It's not bad. It's not bad. It's not a bad reflection. It's funny. You guys played like bamboozle, which was like a giant festival in giant stadium. At that point in time, it was yet out. Right. Yeah. Christian McKnight from a lag nation helped book that then one legend. One of my best pals. I think no doubt was headlining the day you played. Yep. True or not true? It was the other day. Did the Mongols make a shirt that said Gwen Stefani Fox on the first date? Is that what? Think maybe that is what it said. Or maybe it was a wee fuck Gwen Stefani or some virgin of that. And the shirts get removed from your person from your. They pay. Well, they tried to remove the head of security. Her head of security ended up finding it and they tried taking the shirts. And then we kind of like made a big to do and just put the shirts back in the box and hid them. And then I'm just like selling them after or giving them out to friends or something. So they tried to take the shirts, but they were not successful. Was it then that style of that time with like the the brace were fucking the first day? Yeah. It was literally that. That's so good. That's awesome. You guys see your awesome. Who started that that thing? The like Fox in the first date or like wasn't it one like half hard jerk? So off after the first day, I think it's brace were brace were did it. Brace were they were the first ones to do it. Yeah, they did that. Yeah, I would say brace were. It's a very funny me maybe bring that back. I don't know. I don't know if people know for a while nowadays. But maybe I don't know kids are kind of sick of like. Koyo had a Koyo fucked your girlfriend shirt. So I think if they could do it, they can, you know, you can get away with it. You know, I mean, you don't have to do maybe maybe not Gwen Stefani.
you know, maybe you like hold my own fucking for when the funny like kind of sucks now. So I mean, it kind of you know, I mean, he was they were ahead of the game. They were very long goes very left wing band in 2009. Yeah. You know, when somebody's going to turn to what she's going to become a Trumper and a Christian person, she's like an anti-backstir now or some shit like that. Yeah. And she's like, join my prayer circle on this app. Yeah. So yeah. So Greg is like, it's not so I don't have a fucking eye messaged because of her because what she's contributing to the world. Exactly. Yeah. He's maha. And so Saturday. Saturday Saturday on the on the main stage, I was going from the bottom of the top. We got frozen ground opening from Buffalo, New York. Does are meant it dies today, correct? Yep. Hard for wins away from the bay. If you haven't checked that that out, you should. They're fucking awesome. Year spent cold engine. What's the vibe on four wins away? Metal core heavy, mosh pit, spin kick. And then start today's going to play after that. Start to yeah, start today's on the on the consolation room. Yeah. And actually, we're going to back in fourth vibe. The first thing on the consolation is a band called guilt. The front episode. Mark's down. I'll be boxing incredible. It would be to make Duncan Barlow play that early on a weird metal core. Yeah. Because Greg will be like, remember when you were dick to floor punch, this is the payback you opened for fucking. Yeah. I think we have enough bad time. This is this is the better guilt. The one from the Pacific North. This bill does nothing for me. So I feel I mean, I don't really like that shit. I love that shit. I love Elliott. I love by the grace of God. I love falling forward. I love Black Cross. I love. Breathe the resist end point. I love all that shit. I do not care about guilt. I'll go Elliott and all those I'll just say Elliott. It's a bad. I like Elliott. Yeah. And four punch. When do we get an Elliott on a hard crefest? I do. I think it's tried to have it. We've talked about it and we've been unsure that kids would care. But maybe they would. Maybe they would be like, all right, I'm game. I mean, not to tell Chris is an Instagram listener. He's one of my favorite people to run into at shows. Like he shouted us out at the Brooklyn show. I had never met the guy. I'm off. My regret when I saw a quick stand was not leaving my father and my fiance to go watch with Chris up front because he looked like he was having more fun than anybody else there because everyone else there was old just waiting for hot water music to play. What? You have like, quick stand. Yeah, I did. Love's quick stand. What? I got him a quick stand CD for Christmas a couple years ago. That is also all fifth Chris is listening to this podcast right now. I would say as a guy from New Jersey that has no connections, you know, the Kentucky scene, I would love to see Elliott and terror do a performance together and play together. So, you know, I think nobody would like that also. I love the stuff. He's in the hardest bands ever and he's like, dude, if you heard fucking, you know, I'm like, this is why you're the best dude. I showed up at a knock loose show when they were on tour wearing a quick stand shirt and he just knew I liked, like, Richmond hardcore and stuff and he's like, have you ever heard Renee Hartfeld? You got years spent called from New Jersey. This is going up just the main stage. It's not a record, right? It's not two songs. Yeah, two songs. Yeah, I think it's a great representation of the band in 2026. It's very cool. You're illusion, right? Our cover isn't it The Guns and Roses Art? Yeah, yeah. Oh, that's a shirt. That's a shirt. Is that the cover of the I'm going to cover the on streaming? Yeah, that's cool. Shout out. Yeah, I'm on some races. Come on now. It's good. I'm a show. My show hard track. Hard track. Oh, man. Well, that's great. That's great. We got a fatal realm. Going back over beautiful mistake. Bayway also from New Jersey. Shout out. There are from New Jersey. Members, wasn't that dude in years spent called at one point? Original line up. Yeah, singer J, singer Bayway guitar player, shout out around J is the original. Yeah, guitar player. You're spent called. Road a lot of that early stuff into retribution. Oh, no, shit. Okay. Very talented as well. Yeah, yes. Fiddle realm recon. No, John porn. No anything victim. On the main stage on the main stage. Going back over to the side stage. Kids like us. Jackson, the hardcore Jackson. No, Jackson. The old via Tallahassee. Oh, Tallahassee. I was. How do you think kids like us will do it this? I think good. They haven't played the California in forever. And they were always in California. Like went crazy for kids like us. I'm from like the south, Midwest, and they kind of ruled the South. Yeah, they have a fucking rule. I mean, anytime long ways because I got toward the west coast, it was always insane. So I feel like this will pop off and be really cool. Term oil. This will be, you know, third, third show back, ripping gigs. It's going to be really cool. I've seen them. I saw them. I think it was like the first, like all of Koyo and I before anyone had bands or was doing anything. We all drove down to Philly for that. This is hardcore they did. And I remember we all sat there kind of like jaws on the floor watching it because it was like the the scariest moshers at that point in time all just beating each other. Yeah. And I just was like, this band is amazing. I need to see them again only to wait 15, 20 years. What survived like on the like I know they played FYA and they played Philly. Young people into it. But young people know what's the deal. Yeah. Oh, many young kids. It was like, I mean, the the lumpy and Josh Trusskill just did that that really is the process of the thousand records is gone. Sold out. Yeah. I feel like any older band that I'm like, if you have a chance, you should probably put some out with days because they will put it in the hands of people that like will just buy it because it's got days on the back. And then they'll actually pay attention now. They're not just buying it to buy it. Oh, no, no, but like they go, I know I like this sort of stuff. So I'll like this. And then they'll fight at your shows. That's true. Yeah. But I mean, turmoil if you haven't heard them, if you like foundation, you like turmoil. Yeah. Loud a lot of turmoil and foundation. I'm gonna check out the process of rerelease on days and Trusskill. Really cool. Really cool. It was very, very good. Then we're jumping back over to that side stage with morning again. Being fronted by the singer of Arc Angel should be pretty sick. That's awesome. Then beyond repair in Orange County. That should be fucking legendary. I mean, those early Jordan records were so I mean, down repair and you know, as people have to be family or like perfect records to me. Yeah. That'll be why. Yeah. Although I prefer you know, as people have to be family over beyond repair. I got into a first. So I think I just like it more. I don't like the first Dave Peter's record to a lot. Well, the heymaker or not face the face of your EP. Oh, face the mirror is still Keith. And then Dave saying they rerecord songs and then Dave sings, right? That's correct. Yeah. But like that heymaker records hard. It's hard. That's pretty good. But yeah, the M&O CEO be nuts. Yeah. And then Valmora is closing out the second stage, the consolation room stage on the Saturday. And then from there it goes up disembodied. Mind force legendary mind force is going to be fucking awesome. And then has a better resistance for show back and wanting on Saturday. That's how much do you have. So the thing that I love now that all the the the fest do, they'll be like, because everyone is in 17 bands. I feel like everyone does the like you get mind force for you also get crush your soul and fatal around like, is that a thing that that you guys look into to like see it like to try to make happen? Because it's it's financially makes things makes a lot more, you know, you're only buying one flight for someone who's going to play three times. Well, also sometimes you can get a band that like otherwise would be very difficult to talk their members into flying. When sometimes you only have to now fly three people. Sure. Half of the bands already there. That makes sense. Yeah, that's the question. So on the same days, mind force? No. Yes, so no, there are different days. Different days. Yes, there's a fatal realm and and mind force around the same day. Crush your souls on Friday for help. That's right. That's right. That makes sense. Yeah, because it might contain one and then play guitar and other. Okay. And then Sunday you got the big crazy show at 7020. Yeah, Sunday, which tickets are still available. I'm going to ask the website to grab them. Let's kick back missing link who are not playing the faster just playing the show. Wow. Recon, shadow around, your spend cold section, King, X, furious styles. Shout out, Maxi Mike and bloodshed. That'll be wild. Yeah, it's really cool. And then you wake up Monday morning and you start booking next year. I fly home. I fly to like 6 a.m. Monday morning. And you show up in Jackson. You start just building a stage for a health. Exactly. There you go. Do you have anything else you want to say about health festies that you're allowed to do?
When is it going to now like what give us some juice? >> Yeah. >> It's late. People waited around for two hours and tells us blathering on about bullshit. >> We just all just got on tangent on tangent. >> Which is fun, which is the whole podcast. But like, we got through this. >> Yeah, give them a little more so we got for YOD, all right, so we know that. It's going to be across the street from six flat adventure. >> Yep. We got early burden announce Thursday February 19th, early burden on sale with that first band included Tuesday February 24th at 11am. Another ban will get announced on the Wednesday, another ban will get announced on the Thursday, another ban will get announced on the Friday. So that's that whole all next week. And then we can pass the go on sale March 6 with the full lineup. >> What majority of the full lineup besides any bands that we can't announce due to radius condition in their agreements. >> Interesting. So my chemical romance, what you say, I can't believe you got them. That's cool. I mean, daily car course, maybe they, you know, they did help us before they played health fest back in the day. They did. >> He came. One is the, I don't know, I think Frank, Frank came to see Grillebiscuits at Frank is actually cool story. Frank came to see the Grillebiscuits at in Rutherford when we did them in December. And everybody that show that show I was supposed to play. >> The show you got invited to play and you couldn't do it. >> Yeah, that one. >> Yeah. >> They, he gets there and all the venue staff knows who he is like by face. So he walks in and the venue is like on their walk. He's like, Joe, the top player Michael Grumman's here, they're all freaking out. I'm sitting in the production office, he's not my computer. And I'm like, what the fuck is going on? >> Celebrity, they're calling him celebrity. >> I mean, he is. >> If we're being honest. >> Sure, but I saw, I saw a performance at the Zenhouse and it runs like in a basement, that's not like urine. >> Sure, I saw the front of the side. >> I mean, he's probably the one of the more famous people at a Grillebiscuit show. >> So security goes to him and I'm like, hey, I mean, Siv and Walter, there's no one more famous than that. >> I mean, that's not for us. >> I mean, Walter's my god. >> They're like, hey, we have a special viewing area for you. When I spring you there is like him and his wife, I'm pretty sure. And he was like, yeah, I'm definitely not going any special viewing area. I was watching the crowd. I'm good. Don't worry about me. >> I'm just going to point out that. >> It's so tight. >> But I mean, you have to think at this level, most of those people are probably traveling with security and he just came through the door completely and >> Right on the can. >> He's a guy with kids. >> He buys merch all the time from Bans. Just straight up ships it out. You know, like, because I, >> Are you awesome. >> Another man was like, you're like, why do I know this name? You're like looking through their big cartel orders and it's fucking him. You know, that's so cool. >> Yeah, I think that's the thing that separates people like that though. It's like 100% you're just rolling up to a show, you know, buying merch still like. >> Right. How could you not root for that dude to have all the success then? You know what I mean? Like, but he's come to other shows. He was at like that A N like, because that American nightmare toy that they did with ceremony like right before the pandemic, it was supposed to be panic and suicide file. >> Oh, whoa. And then drummer Jared from suicide file had to start doing rehearsals for my chem. And then my chem thing didn't happen because it's fucking COVID. But like that's it. That was supposed to be like a, you know, a 2003, whatever the fuck like it was supposed to be panic and suicide file and they couldn't do it. >> How long has he been in my account? >> I think he's like the beginning. >> I mean, he's been on his job. >> No, we're talking about the other, yeah. >> Oh, the drummer. >> Yeah, the drummer. >> Yeah, Jared. >> I mean, dude, probably 2012, 11 maybe. >> Yeah, I mean, he was in it for a while before they broke up. And then, you know, he's a great fucking drummer. >> Yeah, he's insane. >> Yeah, so it's, you know, and then he was in, he played for Alkaline Treyo on my favorite for a little bit. >> Dude, I didn't know that. That's awesome. >> Yeah, yeah, because Derek quit, it was before they got Adam Willard who's now he's gone, so they got to get another drummer. So if you know any drummers don't want to play rock on Treyo. Hit a Pat Kimlin who's best friends with Matt Skibe now, so he can now, somehow they become a- >> That's going to actually play drums in Alkaline Treyo. You're going to learn my drums as well. >> Maybe that's what he's doing. >> I mean, Matt was like involved in Pat's wedding. And he bought Matt's Pat's wife Flowers because Pat didn't. >> That's pretty dope. They got married at like the house of Blues wherever in Vegas. >> Yeah, that's like a plot point in a like a early 2000's romantic comedy. >> I mean, he better be careful, Matt Skibe. He's wrote some songs, some women, people like him, some songs. But you know what I'm saying? That women or man or whomever, he's Mr. Celia Girls, so he better be kept. And also, there's a Matt Skibe. I don't know if he's still involved in Jersey, but he used to be at Starlein Ballroom. And he was like, yeah, just can't touch a Matt Skibe, but I'm like, man, he's working this song. >> He works in a video now and does like a bunch of distro stuff. >> Oh, no shit. He was like super nice. What's the chances of this guy not actually Matt Skibe than I know it? What else do we got? We have anything else that we want to give these fine folks? Greg, are you going to mosh it at Hellfuss? Will anything get you out there? Are you too stressed to mosh? >> It's not that stressed. Like moshing is like a thing like maybe if the promise was playing right now in front of me, I might mosh this because I would be so surprised if the promise was playing in front of me, something would spark inside of me. I would probably feel so surprised. >> Like too much thought. >> Exactly. I might say the same thing with much pressure as blood. If you guys were just like in front of me right now, sometimes the lead up ruins of the room. But if I went somewhere and I walked in and it was like, we were like set up and we were like fucking doing nothing to be in front of back. And then. >> Just like remember when foundation covered the promise that United Blood and Anderson sang. >> Yes. >> I think they did my true love like that. I'm awesome for that because I was so, I didn't know what was happening. It wasn't ruined by a bunch of people like hyping it up. I was like, all right, I got, I have to mosh. So they have to catch me in a really like specific moment. >> With that carry on covered that is a really. >> Yeah, I can see I would help to see that. That was, yeah, that's a perfect example of it. Like to not know. Although it was confusing because Colin played drums for that but Nick Jet was there. >> It was, it was like watching it happen in real time. My brain was malfunctioning because it's just everyone running across the state. Everyone switching instruments too. >> Such a cool moment. I mean, I love carry on. >> I love stuff like that with people. Just like I'll put, like we'll just get up there and just fucking do it. Or even like bands that just are like not announced on the festival and then like Touche played like Santa Fiori one year or like, turn style playing tied down like it's just like >> Yeah, I wish I was involved in something that could make something like that happen. >> Right, I'm like. >> Yeah, I wish you could just figure some way out doing that. If you only had something that you do every year for three days and you could just squeeze something and it just sucks and it's really unfortunate that it can't happen. But everyone go to these festivals, support the festivals. These, these you got fucking tied down. You have flyover, you got snow and flurry, you got sound and fury, you got this is hardcore, you got what else we got? >> Why? >> FYA. Yeah, FYA is the start of the calendar year and I feel like they set the template for like bands that are going to explode in the next year. I always give Kev Hare all the, because we like to make fun of like fuck with Bob Wilson. >> Because it's a main buyer. Kev Hare is the main buyer and that's why he, right? >> Right, and he's like the guy, he's the idea guy. Bob's like the guy who walks around with the cash box but like Kevin's the guy. >> He kind of agreed with that honestly. >> Right, I mean that's fair. >> I mean, I see him lashing more than I see Bob Wilson lashing. >> That's true. >> He's got to do a shit. >> All right, so who's, you guys have festivals? Who's booking the mother and mercy reunion? >> Dude, we've been, we've tried. >> We've all tried, I've tried last week. It's, I think it will happen. We're getting closer to it happen, but the problem is is Joe, the guitar player from the mercy plays bass and super heaven. So getting the schedule has to line up very specifically. >> I know a guy that you might be able to talk to is if you can get the super, heaven schedule down and then. >> I need the heaven schedule down is one thing too and it's all right. >> I will say this too about mother mercy because I've seen, you know, if Seedrew Ferry, like I've seen him in the past decade, is Vince, is that guy still around? Is he a lot? >> Sure. >> Okay, I haven't seen him since he alive. >> I don't know. >> Well, they showed up, they showed up my house one night to sleep and he had lost his teeth because he was so drunk at the show. He was throwing up out of the van on the highway and he lost his, his like, he had his, he had like the retainer teeth for the front teeth and he threw him up out the window. >> I don't really care about sports at all. Like I really just never got into sports. Like it's fine, but I claim Philadelphia sports teams because of Vince and mother mercy specifically because only towards together. He was such a mess and offensive to anyone and everyone that wasn't equal-related. I was like, man, this is just, this is awesome. >> I don't feel like the vibe. >> I feel like it was such an awesome vibe and he is just a fucking mess still. Even if he's not, I'm sure it is. So, I would love to see mother mercy because I would love to see Vince again. >> All right, so Bob Wilson, we're putting this out into the ether. All right, one last thing, everyone, one band that you want, then or even on the festivals, one band that you want a newer band that you want people to pay attention to. [BLANK_AUDIO]
I guess I'll go, uh, Intervision Springfield. They're the one that no one talks about. It's members of No Guard. Um, DGR band. It's, um, I mean, it's bouncy hardcore in New York, kind of hardcore. They covered backtrack at, uh, Flyover Fest and reminded me that now we get to see backtrack covers, which was with that old. Yeah. They're said at at Flyover was literally incredible. Yeah, He did a race. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I said, I've been here to vitality. Intervision. Yeah. I'm on delayed gratification records. I know. Hi. Another, another GGR band to shout out to, uh, self interest to anybody's not fucking with them. They should be. What do you got calling anything? I'm just start today, honestly. Like it's, I think it was probably one of their first shows in one of the first shows I saw them at 1720 in LA. And I was like, these are legitimately children, you know, and they were, I think it was a comeback kid, Goyle show. I could So I think something where they were like having fun at every, for every single band. And you just tell it was like, they're here because they wanted to come to the show and they got to play. Right. Which is always the coolest. And I think they're all gonna be touring in the near future. You know, I think they're finally either graduating high school or something like that. That's the way it should be. Yeah. You know, great, great covers to great colors. Did you see their set it? F.A. Greg? Oh, yeah. It was awesome. I mean, I love start today. Like they played healthier over the summer. And I got to meet all those kids and I got to, I helped Tate did a split with his old band was a band called One Way Mirror. And they did a split with, uh, I promised a world and I helped them kind of press that record. And I really have a lot of love for those kids and then Tate's dad Neil was in. And that's what I'm gonna ask. Yeah. Okay. We're talking about. I think it was the the turnstile show at the Ukrainian Center. We were writing me, you and a couple people were sitting there watching them just being like, this is this is so crazy. They're like just so excited. And did what I forget? Who did they cover? I think was it a, they do a rich James cover? They do they do righteous James. They do. They do all that like all the like they did wrong side, uh, 10-yard fight and uh, no justice at F.A. No, no, no, and they literally said sorry sound guy. We got to do hardcore pride. It was fucking so perfect. It's everything I'd want out of a band like, like, yeah, fuck the sound guy. We're gonna cover 10-yard fight and they're just so stoked and proud to do it. It's like, that's awesome. That's that's really like, there's not really much more to it. Yeah. And I think I think it's like inspiring to see like young kids excited because like that's thing. It's like, we're all, I'm 32 now, you know, this guy's gonna be like, we're all old and I'm like, you don't even know me. Yeah. Like I've known, I've known all of you guys for 10 to 15 years if not more at this point, you know, and it's like seeing that there's young kids that are still really excited about everything and like willing to tour and willing to go on the road. I think where it's like, we're all at the point where it's like, I'm just, if I'm gonna go, I'm gonna help on a plane. I'm not hopping, you know, like, right, right, they're willing to just get out there. Just get out there and like, do it. I think that's really cool. So, okay. What do you got Greg? You can't coast on it. Sorry. I even know you did. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say negative force from New Jersey. They just put an LP out on takedown and I think like, I'm just gonna try to take down bands. The vibe is just, I think I care inspired hardcore like stoppy. Stoppy, New York, like New York meets Massachusetts. Oh, I have this. No, the records. I think the record is really, really cool and they did a really good job and it's all a bunch of people that have been involved in going to shows and support shows, put on shows and just like aren't fucking posters that talk about it, but aren't about it, you know, that really great. Did they just do their record release? No, the record release, they just announced the record release, which will be March. Single their mile. Single their mile. Yeah, the show's gonna be a free show, giving you know, just giving the venue some money to open doors and we'll run a free show for it. So, I'm really psyched on that one of them. In next week, takedowns also put out a tape with a band called Manic, Manic with a KMA and that's my buddy Sean and it's actually very suicide file inspired with I would say a touch of like an eyelation time. It's okay. It's very different for what's going on right now and it's people like he from Midtown plays guitar like Mid Towns again, I always looked up to as a kid and I do it specifically. Heath is the fucking man and like when I was a child, literally 13 years old going to Midtown shows, he always was like a person I talk to me and acknowledge me. So, I do be able to do something that he's on. This is like some fanboy ship, which is on some like very like, it's a full circle moment. Like to me, that's like, it's like one of my older friends that represents the Manel, Pinstraided, Sean and then heath from fucking Midtown and Paul from suburban scum in the banner on drum. What is this best drummer's gone? Yeah, so it's like that demo. I think it's so different and so cool and as soon as he sent me the thing, I was like, or before I even heard and they told me he was, yeah, I want to participate. So so take that on RTF for putting that demo on. It'll come out next week. They played the GBA and show, right? Is that with a day they played? They played the Friday pre show, the New Jersey hardcore healthier show last year. The Naphtha, the Naphtha bigger show at Williams. If played hot water music being, that's right. Okay. Yeah, that was I think it's very different in terms of what bands are trying to do right now. Like they kind of had a hard last, but it's like, it's and I love Tucson and I love the Mylation time. So to me, I fucking think it's a great demo. There needs to be more suicide file worship. Rock and roll, HC coming back is incredible. Dude, I fucking preach bars to anybody I find out likes. I love that bars record too. That's a good. I talked to Jim from speed. I found out he was a huge hook on fan at tie down last year. And you know, immediately I was like, you like suicide file. He goes, Oh man, love the suicide file. I was like, you're her bars. He said, no, what is that? And I went, Oh, you're new favorite bad money guy. I mean, barely did anything. They didn't write up very much at all. Like when I came out, I reckon came out like, and there's another record that never came out. I didn't know that. There's another record that never came out because they just hope kind enough get back together. And then it was like, all right, well, we're done with this. It's like, wait, do you have the record on your nano? No, I've just heard. I heard her lower, her lower there's another record. But I did have not done. I did have no, I never had a nano. It's on Tyler's iPod. You can't get it off. That is so I did. I did have an iPad nano. And I kept stepping on them and breaking them. And then they would that the only out the screen is just the button. No, that was the shuffle. The iPod shuffle. Yeah, that was that much. I never had one of those because I need to know what I'm picking. All right. I mean, I mean, I need to know what I'm picking. But yeah, the dude, the nanos were not structurally sound. They're going to have to bring out thoughts back. I missed mine. They're dope. All right. Thank you guys for doing this. Coming through last minute. Yeah, thanks for asking me. We're going to talk shit probably for the next hour after we turn this off. Thankfully, no one sent anything because everyone Pat usually says stuff. And then I'll get the end. I'm like, what's he talking about? And I have to go ask because I don't know what he's talking about. And then I have to decide whether or not I'm going to get Pat in trouble. But you guys are in the answers. Yes, every time, right? Every time. Yes. Yeah, I'm like, oh, he's talking about this. It's never bad. It's never. He's hanging out with him right now. I mean, he probably is. But yeah, he seems to be having a good time over there. We had to talk him into doing shows like this because he's an asshole that goes, is this anything? I go, they're playing Wembley Stadium. Wembley Arena. It's a thing. Well, he, it's funny. And we've talked about it now. They work drug church were supposed to do those shows that super have them. And Pat just, you know, I can't wait waiting for the gang right? It could be about figures that 1% so it's about the day. And Pat was just like, I was like, he's like, we're doing it. And I go, okay, cool. You know, I'm just like, I'm just like, you could have just called us and we would have like, yeah, go do this man. Like, you should do it. He goes, well, I didn't really want to do it. And I'm like, I, I, anyone that's a God bless the folks that are in his band. Because they go, he's like, he like would mess just like alkaline trails out of thing. I go, yeah, alkaline trails are a fucking thing man. And then he went on tour with him. He's like, this band's awesome. And I was like, yeah, like welcome to like 2001 till now. You fucking weird out like, what are we doing? Do you think him and Chino have sat down and he's had a conversation with him and just he's how to get up and walk away like everyone else does. But Chino got away from Pat. They're like, oh, yeah. He said they were very, he's spoken a few of the dudes and deft tones, but they were very kind of like, come on down man. Like doors open if you want to come hang, come hang. Which is what they're open themselves. Yeah, my dude don't do it. Like, he's gotten like, you know, when he did the blink tour, like he got back into to like come talk, like hold court with, with Matt or whatever. And like he, he, he, he, he walked in a pat and I apologize to film the story, but I don't give a shit. He like, they're like, oh, Matt wants to talk to you. Is it? No, Tom's along. Yeah. And he was like, so he comes down and he walks in. He's blown.
the descendants and he doesn't turn the music down and he's having a conversation as descendants are blasting like ear piercing level and he's having a regular conversation and a regular voice of Pac-Man which is probably the best way to have a conversation with Pat and think about it. Greg, what are you going to say? I was going to say the blank stuff was actually pretty surprised. So I went on the two shows that ended. Oh yeah. And I rode and got to hang out and see it and and obviously I love ended so much and it's cool seeing them do stuff like that. What was very, what caught me off guard was, you know, a keel obviously is a keel. That's what it is. He's another person that's not putting on some sort of falsified personality. So the thing was the second show. He gets up there and he starts his speech and the second show's in an arena. The first one's like an outdoor amphitheater. Second show's a straight up arena. So it's probably like 20, 18 to 20,000 people. Right. He gets up there and he's like, you know, I see there's a lot of police officers here and you probably feel very safe. You know, everyone feels very safe here and that's that's really good that you feel safe. But something online that ain't no police officer ever made me feel safe. Fuck the cops. Fuck the pigs. This song's called whatever. You hear it. You hear the audience gasp. Literally. Like Missouri or something. Right. Literally. And it was and then afterwards it was like all the blank dudes came up. Dabbing everybody up, say how awesome it was like talking about hardcore, talking about the dude. I think he's going to Andy from Louisville that did crazy fest that picked up crazy fest. He's talking about the Duncan four point four punch story. We're all sitting in this circle with like the members of the band Travis was there the whole time. Tom came in for a while and it's like you know, I think stuff like that really highlights these bands like and what they're actually about, right? They just want to talk about hardcore. So it's so it never gets to. Right. Because no one knows what the fuck they're they just want to be like and there's one time I saw blah blah blah like seven seconds somewhere and they just want to talk about hardcore and they don't want to talk about bullshit. They just want to talk about the stuff that they love and which is nice. It's so cool because then I feel like another tour, you know, maybe the band would have like you know, they'll pretend to be about whatever they're about and they'll be like slapping the band's wrist for whatever they were like dabbing. They thought it was amazing what I did. And they thought it was great. And it was like about what he was about and he didn't get it. They're not going to change it. Yeah. If it's his own show or big fucking arena, fuck it. It is what it is. So at the end of the day, and it's a real hardcore band, you should support them and buy the record and what's going on with them next? What are they doing? Oh, are you out there saying? They're doing they might be doing something with one of the bands we just nominated for all star up in commerce. And one of these other bands that is smart. Actually doing a new record. There might be an amazing tour that's going to get announced very soon. That is probably one of the best packages I've seen in a long time. You know what? I will keep the faith and hopefully that works out. There you go. All right. Thank you guys. Love everybody. Bye. [BLANK_AUDIO]
