A Week of Arm Swingin', White House Shenanigans, and Knicks in Five!
64m 44s
In this episode of Andy Cohen's Daddy Diaries, Andy and John Hill kick off with excitement over the New York Knicks' win, noting the city's joyful mood. Andy recounts attending a party for Uber One's World Cup event, where he mingled with celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, the Backstreet Boys, and several Bravo personalities. He received a notable gift from SD Hime—a t-shirt worn by Taylor Swift and her friends at a Knicks game—and wore it the next night. Andy also introduces his new partner to various cast members, surprised to discover his partner already knows them from social media. The conversation shifts to listener mail, where Andy responds to a question about building his dream home, admitting it was designed for him and his kids, not a partner. A significant portion of the episode centers on political arguments with callers. Andy criticizes Trump-era rhetoric and the UFC event at the White House, while callers push back, accusing him of bias and urging unity. Despite the tension, Andy acknowledges the need for respectful dialogue. The episode ends on a personal high note: Andy shares his joy over improved vision, new teeth, and being in love, calling it a rare gift.
Hey, it's Andy Cohen here with this week's chapter of Andy Cohen's Daddy Diaries podcast. The high highs and low lows of my life is a daddy to two kids and dozens of housewives. Joining me is always is my co-host John Hill, hey John, hey, hey this week we talked NICS went to a big party dance to the Backstreet Boys with Lindsay Lohan ran into some New York housewives and a few bravo leverdies who were actually on my fellas radar. John adds a broad way credit to his resume and we got into a fight with a call or over the UFC Freedom garbage. John and I recalibrated our relationship and we got into some listener mail. This is Andy Cohen's Daddy Diaries podcast. Monday, June 15th, 2026. Good morning everybody, it's Monday, I'm Andy, here's John. Hey, good morning. Morning, what a beautiful morning it is in New York City. Wow, the wind is sweeping up a bunch of crap into my eyes. Yeah, no it is, it is. But the temperature is great. I took a windy outdoor shower this morning but I got a nice shave out there. Shave? Yeah, I had like four days to shave off. So nice. I shaved. You have a nice smooth shave. I'd like to go cheek to cheek with you, babe. Good morning everybody. And boy, New York City is just the happiest place on our head. We needed this. We did. So bad. I mean, I move here and look what happens. Honestly, it's so true. And look what happens to LA. Honestly. It's just a happy time here. Really is. Wow, I mean, it was. I felt so lucky to be here for this. Yeah, I mean, the Nix, they did it and, you know, more to come on that. They defeated my hometown. I know. I would have been happy if anyone had. And you didn't even care, yes. I did care a little bit there toward the end. I will say Saturday Night's Game and we were losing the whole time as I guess is Nix Custom. But we were watching the game and I was marbling at the announcers and also at my. I have just no information about basketball. Yeah. I don't know what to say about it and my fella, by the way, started going into basketball talk. He knows what he's talking about. Like in a serious way, I was like, who are you? But I gotta tell you, I loved it. And then I was saying to my group, I said, if I had to do play by play for a basketball game, I would be. I just. It is one thing. I just don't know what to say. So they said, okay, try it. So I'm like, okay, Spurs have the ball. They're going up. They miss. Up. Now the Nix have it. Oh, they're going. They're dribbling. I mean, I did not know what to say. It was pathetic. It was really bad. Boy did I perk up towards the end of the game when they showed the great Charles Oakley with Angela Oakley. And you know, Charles, who is famously banned from Madison's regard and there were all these articles coming out. And I mean, you know, look, I care because now there's an Atlanta Housewives connection, but there were all these articles coming out saying, you know, will the ban be lifted for Charles Oakley? And word came back from Madison Square Garden. No. Jim Dolan says, no, well, guess what? Charles Oakley got to see it. And good for him. I was so happy. I was DMing with Angela yesterday and she said, Jalen Brunson's dad was really giving it up to Charles Oakley as he should have. Angela is on. Watch what happens live on Sunday. So I'm excited to talk to her about all that. I, you know, I'm obsessed with Angela Oakley, right? I mean, I, you know, anyway, it was a great weekend all the way around. It was so exciting. And Friday night, I went to this party for Uber one that they had for the World Cup. Oh, yeah. I was supposed to go to that, but I saw the play Jerome instead. Oh, okay. Well, how was that? Great. Oh, okay. Amazing. Yeah. And it was really fun. And I was not going to bring my guy, but I wound up bringing him and I walked in. They brought, they took me to this. By the way, on page six, there's a, they're all making fun of me because my arm is swinging in the red carpet picture. Like I have one hand in my pocket and then my arm is swinging. I don't know how to pose on the red carpet. What can I say? Sorry. I don't know how to. I could hire someone to help you. I don't want to. I, well, then don't complain if they make fun of you. Well, good point. I guess that I was just kind of clapping back. But you know, I don't know how to do play by play for a basketball game and I don't know how to pose at a red carpet. So you're good at other things, you know? Yes, exactly. I walked in. I walked right into Amy Schumer who had the cutest dress on and Lucas Gage. And I did like some varied press on the way in. So this lady from Vogue comes up to me and says, I just have one question. Who are you rooting for in the World Cup? And I said, USA. And she said, why? Because that's where you live. I go, well, I'm an American and I love my country. Is that a dumb question? Like why are you rooting for the USA? No. Like what am I supposed to say? Qatar. Qatar. I've noticed that when people do talk about it, they have people have their countries they root for because there are some places that don't get anywhere. I guess I'm rooting for Saudi Arabia. Like, well, like, for example, I was getting waxed this weekend at European wax center and my wax technician was saying she's from Ecuador, but she roots for other countries. Okay. Well, I'm from America and I root for America. Yeah. God, you know, I go to these things and of course I popped in Addabal and I am so bad with faces and it really is like celebrity roulette for me because anybody could be walking over. So this guy comes over, hey man, I'm like, hey, and I'm looking at him. But I will say I got it in under 15 seconds. It was AJ from the Backstreet Boys before they went on. I was like, they look different from time to time. They are the boy bands. They will change a facial hair. It's a rolling. Yeah. Lot. They always kind of look different. He was telling me that I was like, dude, the stuff from this fear looks so great. He said that they're going to go for like 100 shows and he said, I mean, it's going very strong. So I'm very happy for them. And SD Hime walks up to me from Hime who we love and she said, I heard you were going to be here. I brought you a present. Hold on. She runs and gets me the t-shirt that she and Taylor Swift and her sister wore at the next game at the game on Thursday night. They each had a shirt. Taylor said Stevie next K and I CKS. Her said nickel, Kidman K and I C K O L E Kidman. So I thought that she had one made for Lucy and that it was like a small t-shirt for Lucy. And she goes, no, this is the t-shirt I wore to the game and I'm giving it to you. And I was like, that is so iconic. I go, I have to wear this tomorrow night for the game. She's like, well, I don't know how it's going to fit. I go, well, my tits are going to look great in this shirt. Anyway, I did wear it for the game. I felt like I had a sports bra on. Yeah. I mean, it was a bit of a halter top. But I was like, what a great piece of pop culture. Yeah, that's amazing. And she gave me that. Absolutely. I saw Aaron Lee Shee, some of the new cast member from New York, Erica, who's so gorgeous. I had just seen them. I went to the main title shoot for Roni the other day on Thursday or Friday and it was so fun and it was so great to see them all. I saw Ramona comes up to me. I had not seen Ramona in so long. We had the best talk. I introduced her to my fella and now he knows nothing about provost. So it's so interesting to me now. So she comes up. I go, this is Ramona. She is a New York, you know, an original. Now I'd already introduced him to Aaron and Erica. I think of this as Ramona. And he says to me, I know who Ramona is. I was like, Oh, okay, you do. So then Kyle Cook comes up later. I go, I whispered him, I go, Kyle's on summer house. He goes, that's on my phone.
I know who he is. So I'm like, okay, I'm finding out these people are creeping on his algorithm because he's looking at things related to me, which of course I like saw Lindsay Lohan and the best hang with her. We hung and danced during the Backstreet Boys, darling Sierra and Russell Wilson. I've never met Russell Wilson, shorter than I thought. But as handsome as I thought, which was, I already thought he was very handsome. We shot the In the City reunion last week. And it was very good. Are you watching In the City, Jordan? Yeah, of course I am. It's really good. It is really good. Yeah, I'm very into all the new people, all their friends. Yeah, I wasn't sure if I was going to care about anybody, but I very quickly deeply care about everybody on that show. By the way, and this reunion, I mean, it was, it was very good. Yeah. And so Backstreet Boys came on, you know, again, if you've never seen the Backstreet Boys go see them, they were so great. I did feel, Jordan, look up. How many top 10 hits do the Backstreet Boys have? Just tell me that answer because I, it was like an hour and 15 minute performance, maybe hour 10 performance. And again, this was our intent minutes of straight performing. Yeah. Now, this was a, maybe it was just an hour. This was a corporate gig for them. I mean, Uber paid, but I felt like they were holding back on the hits. I was like, they played several new songs. They, they, um, a few, some B sides. I was like, uh, I know. There's a minute for the sphere. Exactly. That's what I thought. Like, I know they have so many hits that this could be wall to wall right now. Um, what did you find, Jordan? So it says according to Billboard, they have six top 10 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on the Billboard Pop Songs chart. They have nine top 10 hits. Okay. Well, that's what I'm talking about. Okay. Nine. So, yeah. So that's, you want to, you want me to read you the set list to see which from your, the show you saw on Friday? Wow. You have it. Yeah. They have it online. Set list FM, if anybody's interested in looking up set list. That's great. So they started with larger than life. Yes. Huge banger. It's got to be you. Don't know it. I don't know as opposed to it's gone on a man. As long as you love me. Yes. You chat. Don't want you back. Nope. Show me the meaning of being low. Yes. The one. I'll be the one. I mean, that was a minor hit for them, but yes. All I have to give. I think that might be it actually. I don't know. Okay. Drowning. No. No. Quit playing games with my ass. Yes. Yes. That's five. Shape of my heart. Yes. That's huge. I won it that way. Okay. Massive. Now that's seven. Okay. Get down. You're the one for me. No. We've got it going on. No. The call. I have songs. Yeah. You don't really know. I have to tell my door, man. John talk. Yes. I mean, back to you boys, I'm not. I always win some enemies when I talk about boy bands. Oh, no. They're not always. Not my sweet spot. Not your over. Well, I mean, yeah. I did think it was a thing. I thought they were lame. I did think that it was iconic watching and dancing with low hand. And then someone pointed out that I have a picture with Lindsay Lohan and Sierra and someone pointed, oh, Darren carp. When she sent me the picture, she goes, oh, my God, you can't stop hanging out with Lindsay and Sierra. I'm like, oh, I didn't even think of that. Yeah. That's kind of funny. Jessica from Chicago. Yes. I'm wondering, can you've been dating your new fella for the last year? So you said, when you were building your dream home, did you add something then like with some in mind, or did you just keep it like fully just like for you? No, it was for me and my kids. I didn't, I didn't reckon that I was going to like find a man. Yeah. That's true. I didn't know if you added like any little touches for him once you started to get serious. No, I didn't. I'm definitely going to be kind of, you know, making room in my closet. Yeah. You know, I think that's smart. Keep it for you and your kids. Yes. I moved a lot of winter clothes to the office downstairs and I will be continuing to do that because you need room. I thank you so much, Jessica. You know what? My eyes are a revelation. I can see so well. I'm just stunned. It makes me so happy. It worked. I just, I really can't believe it. It's on my mind all the time. Did you see the white trash garbage, shit show on the lawn of the white trash? I'm pretty hot about it. I am trying to just, and then that piece of garbage, whoever that fighter was who said Michelle Obama as a man, that that was broadcast on the White House. Yeah. The line, it's just disgusting. Done. It is. I would like to hear from some people now. You know what I mean? Like the, the good Christian folks who voted for this because of their taxes or because of family values. I want to hear from them. You know, a lot of times the sweet, lovely, evangelical family values folks, they like to pretend when there's a massive mistake. They just kind of pretend like it's a fart that everybody smells, but they don't want to acknowledge it. Just look the other way. I want to, you shit. You shit your pants and I want to hear you acknowledge it. You showed your ass. You fucked up. And if you don't say anything, I assume that you are rooting for the destruction of the South Lawn and the UFC and the motor cross bikes flying over. I mean, this is embarrassing. By the way, apparently, so we've made another deal in the Iran deal that I guess was worse than the idea. I have stopped. I think it's all, I don't believe any of it. It's been hundreds of billions of dollars on this war. We have to have this war. Oh, there's a deal. There's nothing. It's crazy. He's an attention starved bitch, baby. I'm like, I don't care anymore. Call me when it's over. Sort yourself out and don't take my money and spend it on bombs. Amen. Vanessa from Kansas City. Quick question. Just wanted your thoughts on West Wilson, had made a comment on his podcast about hoping that the mix lost this weekend so that they would play on Tuesday and that it could overshadow summer house the aftermath. Just curious, you're too. I mean, if I was him, I would have thought the same thing. I don't know that I would have said it on my podcast. You know, I mean, if I was, yeah, I don't know that I would have said it out loud. But I would certainly say it to my friends. I would be like, oh my God, I hope there's a game on Tuesday night. So no one sees me be humiliated some more onto me. No one, let me, let me rephrase it. No one sees me humiliating myself. I don't know. Yeah. All right. Thanks, Vanessa. Thank you. Jen from Ohio. What's up? Hey. Hey. Been a fan of yours for a long time. I'm a fan of yours. I just want to call and say that you sound as bad as the other people complaining about people that complain about the left. You sound just as bad as complaining about the right. Well, and honestly, if you looked into some of the facts, despite we didn't pay for it, you have to pay for it. And so what? I mean, so what? It was a celebration. No, it's not embarrassing. It was gross. It was gross. It was ugly. It's ugly. It's ugly. It's not respectful. It's not classy. It's supposed to be white house. No matter what he does, you aren't going to like it. That's not true. You know what? You know what? I liked that I liked that the reflecting pool was going to be really pretty. Sure. Clean it up. Go for it. I thought that was going to be pretty. Don't tell me what I'm going to like and what I'm not going to like. I think there's a prime example. You can't discuss what that happened. I'm not fighting it. Okay. John, Jen, I thought that the winner of the fight getting up on the White House lawn broadcasting to everyone saying Michelle Obama was a man. Do you think that's what do you think? Do you think it's okay that everybody called Trump a pedophile? Yeah. It's true. Well, he's in. Well, excuse me. Excuse me on the White House lawn. He's in the Epstein files thousands of times. I mean, he's convicted of rape. He's, by the way, he's convicted of rape. He's convicted of rape. He's sexual assault.
convicted of rape. I mean, so yeah, yeah, I don't believe that one either. Well, he was convicted on that one. They're already saying that she's considering refuting that whatever name is it can't I don't can anyway. Anyway, but so you do you think it's okay that they got up and said Michelle Obama's I don't think it's okay. And I wish they all would quit it, but it doesn't make one or the other better because both sides are doing it is my point. You're being hit the critical saying that but yet you don't look at what they say about everybody else. That's my point. Okay, all right. I'm just saying I got it. If you don't like it, then you should shut your mouth. Okay. And I'll say anything mean and ugly either. I agree. We have someone who has been saying the ugliest mean as shit on Twitter for the last 10 years who has debased the national dialogue into this place and here we are. And so I guess you're right. Everyone should just spew garbage. Just watch what they say and and and coming back with those kinds of remarks don't help anything right. They don't help the situation just fuels it. I always wish that we could learn from the example that of the person in charge. And so what his example is is garbage. It's making fun of people after they die. It's comments like Michelle Obama's a man. So I mean, so to not say anything about it is like condoning it. So you got to I think stand up so that the young people don't see that and say, oh, that's totally acceptable. Don't you think he wouldn't say that crap if they weren't so hard on him on everything he did? Everything. I mean, it looks as what good he has accomplished, what's bad. I mean, just everything is always I don't recall a political time where it was like this. Like me either I wonder how it got this way. I wonder how it got this way. I wonder maybe maybe 15 years ago when we started questioning where the president of the United States, whether his birth certificate was real. I don't know. Anyway, I am glad you called in and I know that when I start on rampages, it winds up pissing a lot of people off, which doesn't really help anybody. So I appreciate it. And I agree. I'm not saying that that was right, but I'm also saying the left isn't right either. All right. So thanks, Jen. What I hope is that we find someone who can unify all of us. That would be great. Maybe in our lifetime, Andy. Exactly. We can hope. Thanks, Jen. All right. Thanks. Have a good one, guys. Thanks. Okay. One more call before we go to break Kelly from Tennessee. She agrees with Jen. Kelly. Yellow. Hi, guys. I'm not yelling at y'all. I love y'all. I love y'all show. I love you. I love you. I love everything. Actually, I can't believe I'm talking to you right now. I'm low key for you now. But I feel like y'all always go after the mega supporters or whatever. You don't like it. I mean, we love your show. We like it. We just don't want to listen to you bash Trump all the time. I got it. I don't blame you. I don't blame you. Why would you? I love all of your other stuff. I love you. I love you. I love y'all. I don't love everything Trump says. Believe me. I don't like it. It's delivery. I don't like his tone. I like his principle. I like what he does for the country. But I also like y'all. And I just hope we can all get along. Yes. Yes. All right. Thanks, Kelly. Appreciate it. All right. We are going to leave it there. Tuesday June 16th, 2026. Good morning, everybody. It's Tuesday. I'm Andy. Hey, John. Good morning. Good morning, girl. So happy today. What's going on? I'm just happy. You can see straight. I can see straight. And I mean, honestly, I have new teeth. You have new teeth. I can see straight and I'm in love. God. I mean, that's all there is. You know what I think about it, night, before I go to bed? No. How in love I am. That's amazing. That's the best feeling in the world. I cannot be the leaf. It's such a rare gift. Like when I lay there, I think, well, let me think about that. Yeah. Of all of the stuff that I worry about and I don't want to think about. I think, let me think about that. Yeah. You're living a fantasy. I don't want to be annoying or more annoying, but like you already are. In truth. I would like to spend an hour talking about this. I'm not going to show. No, no, no, no, no. Who cares? Rosie O'Donnell is coming up and she's going to be here in person. What, Jordan? You're reminding me of Luan in person. Oh, I know. Yes. Can you believe it? Can you believe it? Can you believe it? I know. I hope this one ends better than that one. We got the yacht. I think it's gonna. Anyway, we'll see. I had the best dinner with Amy Cideras the other night. I texted her kind of, I texted her when I woke up. I realized, wait, you know, I don't have dinner plans. So I said, could you have dinner after I give, you know, have dinner with the kids? She said, yeah. So she came over about 730. We went to Barbuda where we hadn't been forever. She loves it when I take charge on a plan. And so I texted her, I go, Barbuda, be here at 730. Take your edible at 715 and we will have dinner at 745. Shake. Thank you. She loves that. So we go and it was that night that it was so hot and we were sitting and we got there and we were like, you know what? We might want to eat outside and we did eat outside because it was a breeze coming in from the water. So we sat there and then this fella comes and he sits at the table next to us. Now his back is to Amy but he turns so he's almost, his left ear was basically in our table. And I mean, look, I don't want to chew my own horn but we were having a very funny conversation. And telling very funny stories and there was a lot of laughter and whatever. And I'm sitting there thinking this guy is listening to every word of this. Now it was a lot of stuff about human behavior and you know this and that. It wasn't anything super. It wasn't anything really gossipy but you know. And so in New York City you run that risk. Every time I sit down I'm almost like wow, this person can hear everything I'm saying. So I end up talking very quietly. Yes. Well, so I then said to him. I don't like to hear anybody else's conversation either. I hate it. People need to understand when they are talking too loud. Keep it low. I hate it. But we were having, I mean, so we were in it. And finally I say, and I say it really loudly to the man, what percentage of our conversation do you think that you heard? Was he eating alone? He was eating alone. It's okay. Now he then continues eating and doesn't turn around. And I'm like, and Amy is so confused. She's like, wet now. And I'm like, no, I'm talking to the gentleman behind you. She's like, oh. And I'm like, oh, so now he's not like, well, you didn't, I mean, you didn't have to engage him. You could have just. Well, I didn't, but I mean, I wanted to, it was the elephant in the room. To you because you were high and paranoid. Well, I wasn't paranoid. I was just dealing with reality. But the guy didn't turn around. But was he react, was he chuckling at your anecdotes? Was he reacting? No. He was sitting there. He wasn't looking at his phone. He didn't have headphones on. I mean, he was just sitting there. Did he ever respond? No, he didn't. Yeah, because he's seen, he sounds like a classy guy who let you mind your own business while he was minding his. Well, what would you have wanted him to say, oh my god, about 50% and I love when you said this. Like, what did you want? Actually, in fact, I love your story so much. I'm going to buy your tab. Good question. I think he would have said, I think what I would have wanted was some acknowledgement being like, you know what, less than you think, but moments in it sounds like you guys are having fun. I don't know something. Just be graceful about it. I just thought it was so weird. You guys think I'm crazy? No, listen, I understand you and I understand what you were doing in that moment. But also like, I was trying to acknowledge the reality. Right. Of the situation. Yeah. I think if you hadn't been stoned, you might have just let it go. I don't. Do you know me? Yeah.
By the way, I'm now four episodes behind on Love Island. So well, there's gonna snowball before you know it You're gonna be 30 and it's like it's two days from now. I need to now you know what I did watch God what's it called? I watch the John or early's new movie. Oh Maddie's your exes and I have not seen it right. Okay. Who you're talking about? Oh, okay Well, I won't say his name on the air, but it's a gentleman that you dated anyway. It's it's like a parody of Afterschool specials and movies by the way, we put on Paramount the other day The other night I said to Ben Sunday night I before you go to bed I will watch one episode of the Brady bunch with you and we put it on and he goes daddy I've I finished it. I've seen everything and It turns out I go really have you and you know the truth in the matter is part of the reason That we all saw every episode of the Brady bunch so many times. I think there are own output in there But ask Claude how many total episodes of the Brady bunch there were I don't think I'm gonna guess there were like 60 or something I could be wrong Isn't that kind of a small amount how many Jordan? It says 117 episodes spanning five seasons. Oh, no, I'm wrong. That is a lot to pencil all those Although, but not all of them are on Paramount. Oh Okay, so that that why well because remember that gal wrote in or call in because it's like Ask how many of the episodes of Brady bunch are on Paramount. We're just wasting water today But I am curious because I just want to understand how many this child has seen. Okay Paramount plus only streams 91 episodes. Oh, well, that's still a lot I mean he was watching cousin Oliver the other day and I was like well, I go well who's this guy? He goes well, that's their cousin. He kind of lives with them. I go and what do you think of him? He goes well, he's just a kid. I go well, well, that's a good point He's being a little kinder than we all were you know They're what I mean, you know that is that is Considered a Jump the shark moment Should we get into listener mail now should we get into something now and then go to break? Okay, John because we're we're so many behind Okay, okay, it's fine Listener mail listener mail Lindy Tino from Florida. So happy for you. Have your parents met your fellow yet muzzle tov they have twice and they've spoken on the phone Yes Pam hi Andy so happy you met a guy. I can't believe nobody asked about the kids and boyfriend When did they meet him did Jeff Lewis know about him? He has not introduced his boyfriend to Monroe yet. Just curious how that aspect of relationship is going Jeff has known about him and they met in September he oh no, he met the kids last August I did not tell the kids That he is my fella until late February so they knew him for many months before then and So I let them develop their own relationship with him before entering into the equation that he is my fella and I'm so glad I did it that way because somebody tell you that was a good way to do it Do you know I just naturally felt like you know what this I don't want them to feel like they're competing like this is competition for them because they value my time so much so and then They both just were so crazy about him that went that When I told them they were just thrilled Yes, yes Kelsey from Charleston, South Carolina I think I speak for the majority of us when I say just how happy and elated we are for you and your kids your happiness was palpable as you talked about your new man muzzle Joanne I actually wrote in a few months ago to ask if you were seeing someone because of your many mentions of a vague male pal And this is how the reading of my letter went on air by John Joanne from Brooklyn Nope, and then he just went on to the next letter We should all be lucky enough to have a friend as loyal as John correct Mary from New Orleans now that the secret is finally out where there are any moments on radio Andy or watch what happens live Where you were almost accidentally told a story involving him and had to stop yourself mid-sentence I feel like they're head of it. Yes My allergies are kicking off but it's gorgeous. Yeah Glory be there you are savior. Yes for giving us Madonna day. Yes Madonna for giving us such a day I had an outdoor shower this morning. How was that gorgeous? Ben there was soap are you using out there? You know what's what my outdoor soap is? Yeah, I hope it's biodegradable I hope it's good environment fresh wolf by Lisa Barlow. Oh, that's Not I keep my fresh wolf why it's in a bottle. No, you got a doctor runners wait I don't understand. I'm assuming I have no idea. I'm sure it's a clean beauty brand. I'm sure well What did the soap is going on me and going down my drain? So what's it doing outside? There's like the chemicals in many soaps you have to really get a biodegradable good for the earth's soap. Oh, okay So you're not saying you're not questioning my soap like as it relates to the outdoor shower. Oh, I mean any soap you use you know for any shop but I'm listening I'm more listening I'm interested in the aesthetic and the vibe you're trying to set out there Do you like the center fresh wolf is that where you use it? You like the feel the skin feel? You know what? I love a body wash. Yes, and She sends it to me. That's great. And what is it a woodsy man kind of is yeah. Yes, it is You know I identify as a man. Yes, of course, okay, and a woodsy man So okay, there you go. You can wear a city mouth Me. Yeah, yeah, I mean I am a bit of a city mouth. You know what I am Yeah, I'm like a beach mouse you're a beach. Speaking of these rats. Well, I mean this morning we walked out The door now there is a homeless guy in the West Village who He's like our neighborhood guy. Yeah, okay This is the guy if you recall years ago during COVID that I would give this man Sandwiches on the street. There have been times that he's been in front of the deli and I'll go in and get him a turkey sandwich This is the gentleman that wanted a smash burger instead and I was like well you got what you get dude like he likes What's it called? Stake he likes a press wolf shake-shack. He was like what about steak-shack? Shake shake-shack. I'm like
Well, go away in front of Shake Shack. I'm in front of the Turkey sandwich place. Like, let me, he might like some first wolf. Anyway, he was walking down the street today when Ben and I left our building and he was having a manic episode. - Oh. - And he was really acting out on the street. Now Ben has given this man $5 while he's sleeping. I mean, like he's, we know who this man is. And I grabbed Ben's hand and I was like, okay, God, you know, 'cause you, you don't, there are things you just don't want your kids to see on their way to school, you know? And this guy was really-- - That's reality though. - It's reality. And the guy stopped his episode and he looked at Ben and he goes, you know, you're a cute kid. And he goes, and your daddy loves you. - Oh. - Ben, he didn't say, I know that's right, but he said something like it and he was like, yeah, and we kept talking and I was like, it reminded me of Good Morning Baltimore, the opening number in, where the flasher comes. - Right. - And we see Turnblat's going to school in Baltimore. Then we turn on to Bank Street, which is one of the most beautiful blocks in the West Village. And here we come and there is a fully formed, but dead mouse on the sidewalk, which once again, and I was like, oh God. And Ben didn't see it and I was like, okay. - Oh, point it out. - There we go. He did not see it. That was great. - You want hot survivors from that thing? - No, I know. - Right. - My spoo, he has been playing with, he went to a birthday party at David Buster's the other day. He got a Nerf gun, and he got a whoopie cushion. - Oh, I love a whoopie cushion though. - Well, they're so fun. It's like the original digits before. - And last night, he was, I mean, it was, and my man blew up that whoopie cushion for Ben. I'm gonna say 40 times. He was sitting on it, Lucy was sitting on it, my man was sitting on it, I was sitting on it, around and around and around we go. Finally, I sit on it, and it pops when I sat on it. - Of course, Lord asks. - And it was so funny. And Ben was so pissed. I was like, he's like, well, we can fix it. I go, no, we can't look at this huge hole. - Yeah. - I was so happy. I'm like, let's go through it out. - Yeah. - It's great. I was thinking, he's gotta be so excited that the World Cup is on. He's such a little soccer fan. - Yeah, you know, he is, he does know, but he's been very laissez-faire about the World Cup. He will start getting into it, especially, I feel like during that last week, when we're out at the beach for July 4th week, and it's really gonna be going. He just hasn't had a lot of time. Has he tried on that gift I gave him, that international gift I bought for him? - Yeah, he wore it to school the other day. - And it was a few, and it was great. - Yes, fit him great. Thank you so much. - My photo of that. - Yes, I will send you one, I am so sorry. Yeah, and Lucy has come to watch what happens live the last two days, and she has had so much fun there, and she likes to run in during the commercial break, and give me the biggest tug. It's so sweet, and I have to say to the audience, my daughter may run in, just act like she's not here. Which is great, 'cause otherwise, my audience is trained to do and do and do and do. But so she was there, we had so much fun. - Why can't they react? Do you wish they'll get the bug of applause? - No, yeah, I don't want her to be freaked out, like she's on display, or she's, yeah, I mean, I don't want her to feel like it's anything, but she's coming to see me at work, and here's her daddy, and she's coming in. - Right, right, right. - You know what I mean? - Yeah, of course. - I feel like if they start applauding her, yes, it will make her think it will distort the situation. - Yes, I am two episodes, I am eternally now two episodes behind On Love Island. I cannot catch up. I have a plane ride coming up to LA for the Valley reunion. I will catch up on the flight. - Can you watch on 1.5 speed? - No, such a bummer. I cannot. It's the only way I like to watch that. - But I'm worried then, that I'll miss. I just feel like this show is such a bear, and so much happens in the re-coupled, it's like, for that reunion, I just, people want to know how I keep all the housewives shit together. I mean, this is like all other levels. - I cannot. - Because people couple and re-couple, and the production company is not, I'm not familiar with working with ITV in the way that I am with all of the other production company. And again, I'm not a boss on this show, or I have no authority. I am a gun for hire. So I just have to come in, be on my game, and not assume that they're gonna be prepping you. - Yeah, I mean, I have to know my shit. - You'll be fine. - How many times is it on a week? - Three. - No babe. - Five. - Kill me. - Yes. - Never, ever. - Can you imagine, it may be on six, if you include After Sun. - After Sun is the only thing I would watch because I love Sierra, and I love Tuffy. - Well me too, but After Sun, I feel like, is the thing I can skip, because it's the, it's the only thing I want to watch. - I know, but now you're making me feel like, too. I mean, you gotta, you, is After Sun on every night? - No After Sun is just on Saturday night. - Great, I mean, you gotta, I think you should pop in for that. - Well no, I popped in to see, I, I, look, I popped in on Saturday night because I wanted to see how Sierra did. I'm like, your Sierra, do you know Tuffy? - She was on, watch what happened, so I was a bartender there. - How do you know? - She was on my show, and we just hit it off. - How is, what is she famous from? - She has a show, I think it was produced by the cut. She has a big podcast, a big like YouTube show, and then she has like a column and, wow. - She's big, she's great. - Okay. - I actually had dinner with John Mayer yesterday and he came by the house and Lucy was like, "John Mayer, can I give you a massage?" - I'm like, you and every other woman. And he's like, sure, Lucy. - She's like, lay down on your stomach, John Mayer. And she uses this face massageer that I got, you know that Madonna face massageer, that MDNA face massageer? She uses that as like to rub on the body and everything. It's kind of funny anyway. I think she left it outside, hopefully, it doesn't rain any time soon because it's out there. So we had a nice night. He played me a lot of new music, which was not good, but great, very, very good. Sarah from Louisiana, what's up? - Okay, I'm just wondering what your affliction to Ben playing on his switch is, 'cause you're always talking about, you know, one in the play of video games and that's my question. - Well, first of all, John, do you ever play with that switch? - I gave John the switch that I think was meant for me or Ben. - Right, I gifted it to Jordan. Oh, you did. - To our Jordan. - To our Jordan, I think she has a husband, a straight man in her house and two boys. I'm like, you're gonna need this. I am working on too many things in my spare time to be jerking around on a video game. That's the last thing I need. It's a dopamine hit that I do not need to get locked in, too. - I understand. - Yeah. I mean, I think if I ever do retire in some form or fashion, I don't have to work or think about something and I just wanna kill time. I will absolutely start my video games again. - For me, for Ben, I just want him to play with Legos and last night he couldn't sleep. And once the floodgates open to an electronic situation, they're done. - Yeah, and I know it will happen. - But for example, last night he couldn't sleep and he woke me up this morning early and he goes, "Daddy, I couldn't sleep last night, so look, "I colored this for you." - That's great. - He showed me the most complicated thing that he colored that had to have taken him an hour. And by the way, if this kid is up at night coloring for an hour, I have absolutely no problem. - That's a natural response to your surroundings. If you can't sleep, figure it out. Otherwise, you're really just getting sucked into the blue light. - Yeah, if he was in his room playing with Legos for an hour, I don't care as long as he is in his room by himself doing something. I just don't want it to be on a video game. Like I just, I know he will, yeah, he has a lifetime of playing a video game. - And forget that we are creatures, we are carbon-based life forms. We are born with electronics in our hands. We're not supposed to have them in our brain, the entire eyeballs all day all night. - And by the way, okay.
So he's seven now. We'll see how long I can keep this up, Sarah. But like, and I have to assume it's better for you. - I'm hearing. - Yeah, I hear you. - Okay, I was wondering, does we, I mean, we all play like Mario and Nintendo. I mean, I'm 40 something. So I play Mario and Nintendo. I'm not like, I mean, I'm so sorry. - But you couldn't take that with you. Like, I could take my Game Boy with me and stuff. I had that. But like the console games, I had periods of time where I was allowed to play it. I played Nintendo as well. And I'll say something about that. My parents had to take it away from me. I was getting so addicted to it. - Yeah, I mean, I just, yeah, great. I mean, look, when I was young, I think, look, I'm a bad, my childhood was so different because there were three TV channels and it was just a totally different world. But I mean, I don't, why do I need to rush it, Sarah? - Yeah, I mean, great. - Oh, you don't. - Yeah, I'm just scared. 'Cause we have a switch, and I have a six year old and a three year old. And the only time they play it is with my husband. And they play like Draft the Tark, and they play Animal Crossing, and they do that. - I'm sure it's great. I just, it's not gonna happen until it happens. And I just wanna keep it away as long as possible. And you know what else? Every so often, he's like, oh, I would like a video game. But he doesn't, he gets over it. And like, when he comes home from school, he says, daddy, will you play Uno? Here's what we do. We play Uno, we play Trouble, we play Backgammon, and we play soccer on the terrace. And so-- - Video games are also destroying the younger generation's ability to focus on books and to read and like-- - Yeah. - I also think, on the other hand, there are a lot of strategic, mental, acuity things, advantages that can come from playing games at a certain point. So there will come a time and place for it. - What kind of what I was thinking is that, you know, the problem solving-- - Yeah, he'll get it. - But I mean, my six year old doesn't know how to play it. She just kind of pushes the button. - Yeah. - And it's really not, it's not her focus. - Yes, all right. Okay, well, we've beaten this topic to death. Thanks, Sarah. You know, John, you know what I've been thinking about? What, Diana Ross? - Well, I am always thinking about Diana Ross. (laughing) But I would like to spend some time with you outside of the show. - Oh, why? Why do you say that? - Because I just feel like, you know, I was thinking the other night, and I thought it again last night. I was like, I mean, obviously I see you here. - No. - I think that, like, are we gone? - Right. - But I think it's a bit of a tease. Like, I don't feel like we've had quality time outside of here. I'm really glad you said that. Okay, have you been feeling that too? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Well, then if you've been feeling it too, why wouldn't you say it? - Well, I've been cultivating my thoughts around it. - I understand that. You've been doing a siloing and making some kind of, like, judgment or accusation about it. - No, I think that would be your fear of what I'm doing when I have, I try to check myself to say, why are you feeling a certain way about something? - Right. - You know, the phone goes two ways. I would invite you to go do stuff. - Yeah. Anyway, well, I've been feeling it. - I want you to know it. - Yeah, I mean, I've been here for six months, or seven months now. And like, we have not really done anything. We haven't really spent any time together outside of work. - Right. - You know, but I mean, you're busy. You have all this shit I am too. But like, yeah, I think it would be good. - Okay, good. - All right, well, let's try to do that. - Okay, great. - Okay. Good talk. - Yeah. (laughing) - I woke up to a flood of, 'cause on threads, I say good morning, typically, at the beginning of the day. And all the comments were like, you have to get rid of Weston Amanda. You, you, like, what are you doing? Da, da, da, da, da. Just want to reiterate to all y'all. I am not a producer of Summer House. I don't have anything to do with casting. And so, thank you for logging your complaint. But it's basically like the same as logging a complaint with like a call center somewhere. I don't, you know, I mean, I, you know, I'll weigh in at Bravo, but, you know, who knows what they listen to regarding me and Summer House, because I'm not a producer of that show. So, there you go. - You know, John, I thought of at least six times that we've gotten together since you've been here. So, super bowl Christmas. - Yeah, Christmas holidays. - Dinner party. We went to see Andrew Leeette. We went. - Yeah, I mean, you know what I'm thinking? - Yeah, tell me. - Like one on one. - Okay. Well, one on one, we went to-- - I don't want you to get defensive about this. - Okay, I am a little defensive, because to say we haven't seen each other since you've been here. - That's not what I said. - I'm clarifying. - I mean, like, yeah. I, Andrew Leeette, we did go together, but it was with 10 Housewives. It's just you and I, like, there hasn't been like-- - That was very much you and me, babe. - If you, I think we could talk about this another time, but like, it's only, it's been six or seven months of a lot of times where you're like, "Wow, I had nothing to do last night." So, I called so and so to have dinner. I realized I had nothing to do for it. I'm just not on your list for a dinner companion. And I have perceived that and interpreted that as a boundary. I'm not someone you want to sit down and have dinner with. I think in theory I am, but I'm really not on your, on that short list. - And by the way, I am fine with that. - Okay, well, can I-- - So since I have-- - Say one more thing? - Yeah. - I don't seem to be on yours either. - Right, because I have perceived, I feel like enough time. Does it look like the analogy of throwing a ball that someone, and if they don't catch it, it just hits them and rolls off? - I know, but you never throw the ball. - I did for a long time. - When? - I think for years leading up to this. - No, I know, but now you're in New York City. - But also I have said, hey, I see you're by my house, come on over and say, you've been to my house for 45 seconds one time. You're like, this is a great apartment. And I just think cumulatively speaking, effort could be made on both sides. - If you want. - Sure, yes, of course, but I think more on yours. I think I have interpreted, I don't think I have gotten the message that you wouldn't do it if I asked. You wouldn't be able to, you wouldn't be available, you'd be too busy, you wouldn't be able to. - Okay. Happy to crank it back up and start asking you to do stuff again, but I don't like hearing, like, I, here's the thing, my friends in my life might are stoked to spend time with me. I, you're the only friend I have who's like, not really engaged. I think this is so false that I can't even tell you. - Okay. I spent your birthday with you. I spent, I mean, like, I've spent like serious occasions with you. - Yes, we did a Christmas, we did a big dinner for my five year sober birthday. - Yes. - Yeah. I mean, like, you know, I'm just saying like a day to day, I'm not like involved. - In the, we don't have, we haven't like, cultivated our friendship as much, but I think, I think it's fine. There's always ways to get that back up and running. - Well, me too. - Yeah. - Okay. It's a two way street, of course. - Absolutely. - Okay. - Yeah, everything is. - Yes. - When it's fuller involved. (upbeat music) Thursday, June 18th, 2026. - Good morning, everybody. It's Thursday. I'm Andy. Hi, John. - Good morning. - How are we doing? I think we're doing good. - Good. - I'm doing well. I think we're gonna get into some listen, or mail to tell you the truth, because we've got a lot, and I'm a little tapped out. I felt dopey last night. I've like, forgot who was on watch what happens live last night. We had Michelle from the Valley with Lucas Gage on. We had a really fun show. I got to talk to her about dating Dr. Dre a little bit, which is really an odd combo. I am headed out to LA to do the Valley reunion. So, I imagine that we will get more into that. - How long will you be there? - There, I will be there like 36 hours. It's Father's Day. - Right, on Sunday. So, I have a show that night. If you-- - Oh, you're kidding. - Are you speaking to your father, or you want to celebrate your father by coming to see me? Come see me to the green before 42. Brand new show for some ever doing this material. - I'm about 60. - 7 p.m. green, but it's really good. - Oh good. - Yeah. I am trying to figure out, I think that I'm going to barbecue with these other gay dads. - That would be nice community. - Yeah, community. It is so having other gay dads in my friend group has been so crucial for my children, feeling like their family is totally normal. And, yeah, it's really good. Lucy was, when we went to the baseball game in St. Louis, she had, it was very sweet. She had to go party and she was like, I want mom to take me, her grandma. And so my mom took her and she goes, do you, did you, do you have a mom? - To my mom. My mom goes, I did have a mom. And she goes, but, you know, now my mom did the whole retinue with Lucy. She was like, you know, but some people have two moms. Some people have two, you know, she went after, and at least one.
Lucy's like, I know ma. I understand. I got it. Yeah, I got this. Let's get into some listener mail. Okay. Listen, her mail. Christy from Santa Clarita, California. Andy, I haven't heard you mention any of your Kelly Clarkson shows since they have started airing. I just want to tell you how much I have been enjoying them. You are such a natural. You always seem to be enjoying what you're doing. And you are one of the best interviewers. You ask questions. Others don't and truly actor and interested. I hope you get your own network show someday. You know what? I loved hosting the Kelly Clarkson show. It is such a well-run operation. And I loved it that there was a band. It was it was easy for me to do. I really enjoyed it. And I love that they encouraged me to ask my own stuff and get in there. And it was great. So thank you for that comment. And you know, I didn't really promote it. It's, you know, it's going off the air. I taped it so long before they did air. So I just kind of let it go. Maggie about Waymo. I got so annoyed when John Hill raves about Waymo's whenever they are brought up in conversation. John, as someone who basically guilt trips Andy every time he mentions he gets T from Starbucks. The fact that you gladly put money in the pocket of tech bros instead of helping a human cab driver just because you don't enjoy it. They get too chatty with you is ridiculous. People who choose to drive cabs or ubers or lists whatever are all trying to make ends meet. Some of them might not have been able to receive a higher level education to be continued. Oh, can there are, well, you want it to go on and on. I'm sure. I think you've been ready. You care so much about local coffee shops. Why don't you care about human being drivers? Why don't you just enter the cab with headphones out of you hate chatting so much? I don't know. Usually I like to see both sides of Maggie. Fuck you. Rick from Maryland. It's cheaper. Right. Yeah. Okay. And also tech bros. Do you know about Uber? Yeah. There. I only take a cab in New York City. Yeah. But in LA, I'm taking away Mo. Okay. Get a fuck. Rich from Maryland. Rick from Maryland. I have something to debate about Monday show. You talked about the UFC heavyweight fighter Josh Huckett, who hookets who called the former first lady Michelle Obama, a man during his post by interviews Sunday night. Yeah. What about on July 1, 2014, while promoting her book, Diary of a Mad Diva outside of New York City bookstore, Rivers was asked to buy a reporter when the United States would have his first gay president. She responded. We already have a way with Obama. And I'm prompted went on to refer to Michelle Obama as transgender. Well, when the reporter, she's talking about Joan Rivers, his famous clip. When the reporter asked for clarification, she replied, a transgender. We all know she actually said a slur, which I won't say, but it's it was the T word. Is there a difference when one says yes, seriously, from when others make a joke? Yes, there is. Joan Rivers is a professional comedian. And it was a long time ago. And it was funny. And also, by the way, it wasn't on the White House lawn with the president of the United States, sitting there laughing and the current first lady and the current first lady. If you want to call her that, if you know, if you know, she, her whole thing is be best. Don't do this language. She was so upset that Jimmy Kimmel made a joke about her. But on the White House lawn, you have some fucking orangutan, making fun of a, actually a person of substance who served our country for eight years. And no one in the White House cannot condemn it. Yeah, it's a lot different, dude. Then Joan Rivers saying on TMZ at an airport. Yeah. I do think the clip of Joan saying that is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. And it is not it's one of those things where it's shocking. But I do think it was stupid, but it is stupid. But it is it was I get the comedic value of it. Anyway, yeah, it's totally different. Somebody did ask me they DM me, you know, like, oh, yeah, you're, you're a hypocritical. You refer to Melania Trump as a whore. And I said, I'm not on the White House lawn being cheered on by the president. That's exactly right. I'm just key king with my gay friend. There you go.
