In this episode, Andy Cohen opens with a hectic night at home where his daughter Lucy cried over a perceived bug, which turned out to be a dot on her Snoopy towel, while his son Ben later found a real tick, leading to a sleepless night. He then recounts a weekend of highs and lows: a rainy Saturday with visits from Sandy Bernhard and Sarah, and a cozy day indoors. That Friday, Andy posted his first Instagram photo with his partner Kevin, captioning it "date night," but was surprised by comments suggesting they look alike. The weekend took a comedic turn when Andy accidentally splashed a couple while driving through a puddle, then deliberately splashed a group of kids at their parents' request, feeling remorseful but noting the fun. He also discusses the World Cup, enjoying the game and halftime show featuring Madonna and the Muppets, and highlights a delightful boat trip with his kids, which ended with them hiding in a closet, causing a brief panic. Finally, Andy expresses support for Gina Kio, who is battling tongue cancer, sharing a GoFundMe link and urging fans to contribute. The episode balances parenting chaos, personal milestones, and community care, all delivered with Andy's characteristic humor and warmth.
Hey, it's Andy Cohen here with this week's chapter of Andy Cohen's Daddy Diaries podcast. The high highs and low lows of my life is a daddy to two kids and dozens of housewives. Joining me is always this my go-ows, John Hill. Hey John. What a week. John, I mean it was crazy. I hard-launched my relationship on Instagram, had some splashing incidents that really were, but I don't know, I'm still, I don't know, I'm upset. We talked about the World Cup half-time show, air purifiers, the kids from PS22, plastic butts, the return of the housewives of New York and Bevy joined us on Thursday. This is Andy Cohen's Daddy Diaries podcast. Monday, July 20th, 2026. Good morning everybody, I'm Andy Cohen broadcasting from The Beach out on Long Island and John Hill is in, well my chair it seems in our studio. Good morning John. Yes, I'm in your chair, it feels so good. How does that imprint of my teeny little butt feel? Yeah, it's like the princess in the pee, it's like small and nagging. Yeah, it's like the opposite of your hotel bed drama, it's concave in the center instead of a comic. Yes, yes. Yes, I'm generating in your, oh, oh, oh. When I sit in your chair, I don't put my feet up, I keep my area clean. Yes, I know, I'm a little more of a, what's it? I'm a little bit more, yes, I'm a little bit more of a mess. It is a beautiful day out on Long Island. Is it beautiful in the city? Gorgeous, beautiful day, unbelievable. Yes, good, good, good. Well, it's a great day on the East Coast. It was a nice weekend. No, it was a rough weekend. Thankfully it cleared up for the World Cup, which we will get into in a minute, but it was, it was a rough night here last night. I have to say I woke up in the middle of the night or I was awoken in the middle of the night by some chaos downstairs. The children were crying, making noise. I raised downstairs. Lucy thought that she saw a bug, a roach. Now I'm very scared of bugs. So I can understand being upended by a bug in the night, in the day, whatever. And I of course need to come in and be the calm, you know, daddy, where of course inside I'm terrified about what is this bug that I now have to kill. Tell me a metaphor for a lot of things in life and raising kids, you know, you got to pretend one way, but you might be scared too. I would assume. That's, yeah, I mean, I think you're right. And so I was, you know, so I said, where is the bug and Lucy in her sweet little night gown. She points and there is, she goes, it's on the towel. Now, John, we have this snoopy towel that you put over that I put in. Put on her and there's a hood on top of the towel that little kids, you know, wear. And on the hood, it basically makes you look like snoopy if you're in the towel. Now snoopy has some dots on his head for his eye and stuff. So what she was pointing at was like the black dot that is emblazoned on the towel. Well maybe Lucy needs to go to your eye doctor and get cataract surgery. Oh, yeah, you're so right. So I go Lucy, this is the dot on the towel and I turn and then well, I mean, you can only imagine that this was like his best moment because he's like, daddy, this is going on for so long. She's been crying about this bug. We didn't know what to do because we didn't want to wake you up and all this stuff. I'm like, Lucy, it's the, it's on the towel, sweetie. She's like, okay, daddy. She gives me a big hug. She's like, will you sing me that song, the cowboy song? I sang her to bed. I talked to Ben in. I go back into my room. 20 minutes later, Ben is next to my bed. Daddy, there's more bugs. I go downstairs. He's like, there's a spider on the floor of the bathroom. Well, as it turns out, and I did not tell him this because I did not want to completely freak him out. There was a tick falling on the bathroom floor. And like, so I didn't want to say this is a lethal bug, but I got rid of the tick. I talked him back in. I had to talk to Lucy back in. So I am a little tired today from this bug drama last night. And as you pointed out, just we had smoke on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, just crazy smoke, but then in came the rain on Saturday. Unbelievable. And it was like, I hadn't seen one like that in forever. Yes. It was. Thunder and lightning loud down all day long. Thunder and lightning. Now I did a little bit because I like you. Yeah. I like traveling. And I was like, you know what? This is proof. This is a sign that I'm not supposed to go bopping around the city. I need to stay inside. Right. But you were home by then, right John? I think God. Yes. Good. Good. You would not have wanted to be traveling then. I was home. And we had some visitors on Saturday, including Saturday. I had seen on Friday on Sandy Bernhard's Instagram that she was in the Amptons and I texted her and I said, oh, are you in the Amptons? She said, yes, we have a visit. I said, yeah. And so I said, come around. Come anytime after three tomorrow or she said, we'll come after three tomorrow. I said, great. So it's pouring. And I have fires going in the house. And it was very cozy in here. And I went downstairs, Kevin and I were about to take a little nap. And I was like, well, let me go downstairs and let me text Sandy and say, listen, if you're still thinking of coming, please come. And but little did I, you know, I forgot. These are lesbians I'm dealing with. If you make a plan with a lesbian, they're going to stick to it. And they're going to be there two minutes early. And as I was picking up my phone to text her to say, hey, it's three. We're home. You know, come on by. They were pulling up the driveway. So we had a very fun visit with Sandy and Sarah. We had a lot of laughs. And they got to see Ben and then Lucy woke up from, we gave her a little nap on Saturday because what else are you going to do? And we had a really nice visit with them. So that was nice. Now Friday night was kind of a dramatic night out of nowhere for me. Kevin and I went out to dinner. And on the way to dinner, he was really complimenting me and being very sweet about he liked, he thought I looked handsome. And I said, you know, I think you look so handsome. We should get a picture of ourselves. So we were walking into East Hampton Grill and this gal's coming out and she was like, oh my God, it's my first night. But since having a baby three months ago and this is my first night out and I'm running into you and I listened to you on the radio, whatever I said, oh my God, I go, well, could you make my night and take a picture of us? She goes, oh my God, yes, of course. So she takes pictures of us in front of the restaurant and we go in and I look at the picture. I was like, you know what? This is a good picture. I think I'm going to throw this on the grid. Like this is a good picture of us. Now then it become, and then I realized I've never done this. I've not thrown a picture of us on the grid yet. There's only that one paparazzi shot of us. So now we're sitting there and I go, let me throw it up. I go, I'm going to put it up and I'm going to say date night. He's like, wait, let's discuss the caption. I'm a very spontaneous poster. I don't, I don't ruminate over things too.
long. But then we're sitting there discussing the caption and then I was going to put, you know, a needle in a haystack or I found a needle in a haystack or that I was going to put. You know, right, I was going to put, you know, I'm out with my dream man or then I was like, this is getting too late to lead later. Right. Is this getting too late? You know, you're going to have to go across East Hampton Grill. Right. I'm like, this is getting too hyperbolic. Like, like, you know, that's a good caption. Right. I go, let me just put date night. I go, I'm going to put some emojis after he goes, well, what emojis are you going to put? I feel like that's something. I go a lightning bolt and a current to this next to each other. Right. I should have. I should have. I should have. A twin girls. Anyway, I had to explain my rationale for each of the emojis. Then of course, I'm ready to post. I go, okay, we're, I go, I am doing this. I hit post. I have no service in the restaurant. So I'm like, okay, so then I try to get no service. So then I said, you know what? This is now annoying me. And I'm like, this is, this is annoying me. I said, I'm going to step outside the restaurant. And I'm going to post it because I will have service outside the restaurant. I go outside the restaurant. And it's all these people waiting for tables having drinks. Now a plus my gal from before now it becomes a photo op of people who are like, we want a photo. So I take a few pictures and then I'm like, okay, I gotta go. So I run back in without posting it. The bottom line is I posted it on the way home. And you know, that was that. It was very nice. People said nice things. But one of the most recurring thing that people said, and I don't understand this. And I need to ask both of you who've met him. People really were commenting that we look alike. And that I was with my look alike. Is there any part of either of you think that he and I look alike? No, but you both do have like wavy hair. And it's semi long at the moment. I don't think you look like at all. But if you don't, I don't know you guys. I don't know. Yeah, I don't think you would have anything like. Yeah, I wouldn't pay that any mind people. I just was like, well, that's weird. So that really, you know, that that surprised me. Anyway, so yeah, Saturday was like a rainy day with the kids. And then Saturday night, we took the kids out for pizza, the four of us. And it was, you know, it was on an off-rain. And oh, God, it was so bad. So on the way there, I have an SUV on the way there. I been is saying drive through puddles, splash the puddles because there were these huge puddles on the street. So I'm driving and I splash, you know, I'm splat I'm driving through these big puddles. And every time they see one coming up on the side of the road, they want me to drive through it and really splash the car. And I'm doing it. And now we're coming, you know, we're on 27 in East Hampton. And I, I see this huge puddle on the side of the road. And I go out of my way, really out of my way to drive towards the side of the road to splash this puddle. And I do, and I wind up. Oh, God. Directly drenching a couple walking their jog. But I didn't see the couple. Right. But don't be like, carining your SUV throughout the Hamptons in a storm. Like Grilizzi Grubman part two. Like you're asking for it. You're asking for it. I know. I would have, if you would have done that, if somebody would have splashed me, I would have gotten so mad. John, did you stop? I went by. Well, it was a fast road. So I did not stop. I, and, and, and Kevin was like, what are you? You just like, and then the kids, it was so bad. It was such a bad example to be shared and go, it was just terrible. I felt so bad. You didn't see them. You need to get a reimbursement. No, I, I surgery. No, I didn't see them. I was only looking at the puddle. Get a refund. It was terrible. It was, I feel so bad. Yes. So anyway, anyway, I, I did make a post on my Instagram story saying, sorry. If it was you, I, I am so sorry. Well, also like maybe you don't walk your dog that close to such a busy road. Well, no, I can't blend the victim. So get this. On the way home, I live in a very kind of residential area. It's very cute. There are a lot of families. It's a very beachy community. You, the roads, you drive very slow on the roads around here because there's always kids out and there's people biking. And it's just, it's a very sweet place. So I'm driving home and now it's not, it's done raining. There are still puddles. And there are these kids on the side of the road. I'm going to say like seven kids on the side of the road. And they're yelling and we're in the car and the windows are up and they're yelling splash us, splash us, splash us. So I slow down and I roll down the window and I go, what, what do you want me to do? And they go drive through this puddle. There was a big puddle there and splash us. And they're standing next to the puddle. And I turn and I say to the, there are like four parents standing there. And I go, isn't this dangerous? Like you have your kids and the kids were of all ages and there were young kids too. Okay. I go, isn't this dangerous? And the dad goes, we think it's fine. I go, you think it's fine? And the parents go, go for it. Do it. Splash them. They want to be splash insane. So I said, okay, stand further back on the grass and just stand further back. They said, okay, so all the kids, there's like seven kids, they're standing in a row and they stand further back on the other side of the puddle. And I then run them all over. Well, so I, I back up, I refocus my car. I say to the parents, you want me to do this. They go do it, do it. So how the world did my fellas says, I start to drive. My guy says, Florida. And I was like, okay, he goes, well, it's the only way you're going to splash them. So I floored it and I really splashed them. But I drove by I go, that was diabolical. Yeah. Like I should not have done that. And I said to him, let's just say one of those kids like fell as I was and I hit the kid. Yeah, I go, who would be liable? He goes, you, I go, but they asked me to do it. He goes, well, if I ask you to murder me, are you going to murder me? I said, well, well, you would have done, you would have done the whole like Brandy Caitlin Jenner thing. You would have done a man's slaughter or a baby slaughter. However old they are a child slaughter. You know what? This is so funny. Like you guys, you live out there by the biggest body of water on the planet, the giant ocean. And yet, everyone wants to go to the driveway and find a muddy, dirty puddle and have someone splash you. I know. hilarious. It's so, this is what rich people do. They get bored with the giant ocean and they think, what else could we do? Splash me with a dirty, muddy puddle. But I said to the kids, I go, if you ever do this, I go, you are not allowed to stand by the side of the road. So I mean, it was just too bad puddle lessons with them that I contributed to. Well, it consent, unless you get consent, you know, they can do that. Right. Well, the first one was definitely horrible. Well, they did not ask for that flash. No, they did not. They were not standing there asking for that. I mean, but if this
- Second one, it felt so quaint and neighborhoody. - Yeah, summertime fun. - Summer time fun. - Like a slip and slide. - Remember those? - Yes. - Yes. - So fun. - Exactly. - Until you run over the one rock that's under it. - Jordan, what do you think about what I-- - Jordan's busy, she's on the phone. - Yeah, sorry, I was in my cave. No, I mean, if they're asking you to do it, I would probably also get caught up in the moment and be like, "Yeah, that's splash you." But does it sound icy the way you're telling it, yeah? - Yes, yes. - I don't know. - It's terrible. Oh my God. - Well, nobody died and everyone had a laugh. - Yeah. - It turned out well. - So let's talk World Cup. Did you, John, did you watch? - I watched the whole thing. - Wow, just at home with pals or what? - At home with myself and my dog. - Nice. I enjoyed it. - I loved it. - I loved seeing, you know who get booed. - Yeah. - I loved, I mean, here's the deal with the halftime show. I was so excited for Madonna. And I thought that the first two minutes were so exciting. Here she comes, she's coming through the tunnel. She's coming on the field. She walks on the field. She's singing music. And I then thought she was gonna go into it. - Yeah. - And then we get the muppets. (laughing) - Yeah. - I mean, I enjoyed the entire halftime show, by the way. I just wanted, of course, I just wanted it to all be Madonna. - Of course, of course. - Yes. - I'm grateful for what we got. - We are. Justin Bieber was singing live, which was really cool to see. But I thought that song was really a snore. - A little bit of a snore. And I don't know, I'm happy to see him looking healthy and well. - Yes. - And not, you know, like looks like he rolled out of a ditch. I think it's nice to see him put together sort of, and he's so good looking and sounds good. But yeah, I mean, maybe a little bit of a boring song. He could've sang "Peaches." - Right. (laughing) And what else was I gonna tell you? Yeah, no, it was a very exciting game. It was fun. It was, you know, it's always fun to see all the stars in the audience. Yeah, who do we see Rihanna, Beyonce? - Everybody. - Everybody was there. Sarah Jessica was there, as a matter of fact, she said she had the greatest time. And you know, I texted her like 90 minutes later, I was like, after the game, I said, "Are you still on the road?" 'Cause you know that I just, that met life traffic, whatever. She said it was really not bad at all. It was really not bad at all. - I'm surprised. How do they manage all that? - I'm surprised too, but I have to assume a lot of those fans were tourists. - Right. - I didn't drive and maybe took trains or something like that. I don't know, you know? - I couldn't, yeah, I'm so surprised. I would have thought it would be a nightmare. - Yes. - Yes. - I loved watching it. I liked that it was from three to six, you know? - Yes. - Three p.m. - Yes. - Instead of like a seven p.m. or some shit. - Yes. - Daytime. - Yeah, that was good. - Yes. - And then I went to Brian Soffy's show, which was really, really good. - Oh, good. - Yeah. - Oh, that's good. - If you're coming to New York and you want something to see and you've seen everything or you feel like you want something a little bit different, it's not just like six, or Angelie at nothing wrong with those shows. Ghosty Brian Solo shows, it's really good. It's called, "Are You Mad at Me?" It's really great. - Okay. - Really, really good. - Okay, that's a good recommendation. We had gone yesterday morning to our friend, Jane Buffett's house. And we went out on our boat and took the kids and took the kids out on paddle boards, paddling around. It was so cute. We had so much fun and we had lunch on the boat and it was just a great, great morning. And we were gonna go right into that, into the World Cup, had a couple people over to barbecue. And when we got back onto land from the boat, the kids ran away from us and wound up hiding in her house on the second floor in a closet. And we spent 15 minutes walking around the yard looking for them. And it was, let's just say this, they were in big trouble because it was not the vibe. - I thought that was so fun though. I lose a love, play hide and seek. - Yeah, I think it was fun for them, but not for all the grownups looking for them. - When kids disappear, it's not a great experience. - Right, exactly. - You can't find, you don't know if that's been stolen or if someone's driving a car in a puddle to splash them. - Yes. - It's going on. - We were, we were in the car home and the kids decided that they were mad at us for being mad at them. And we were like, that's your turn. - Oh no, this is not how this works. We're mad at you and you don't, and then Ben at some point goes, yeah, yeah, daddy's right. This is crazy that we're mad at them. Like he got it, he got it. John, I wanna say, I read yesterday online that Kara Kio, the daughter of Gina Kio, posted that her mom Gina and Orange County OG, of course, has been fighting tongue cancer. And there's a go fund me that's been set up. And I'm just sending all my love to the Kios. Gina, not only, as always been so kind, but she's a very strong woman. And I am wishing her a lot of strength that she goes through this. There is a go fund me. I donated this morning. I think that if your housewives fan watching season 20, pitch in. All right. John, should we get into the news? Yeah, let's do it. Okay. I am up to date on OC, actually. I watched episode two last night. Oh, good. Yeah, it's good. Makes me happy. Yeah, it's good, right? I mean, they're dressing up in drag and going to hamburger marries. I mean, listen. Well, they're dressing up in drag as old lady versions of themselves. And Vicki looked just like Mama from Mama's family. Oh, you thought she looked like Wilphair? I thought you looked like Mama. Both. Both can be true. We talked about Spain winning the World Cup. I'm glad I picked a Spain jersey as my gift for Ben. John. So cute. I got a tummy. I mean, how great is that that he has a jersey from the team that won the World Cup because my ass is this psychic? Yes. Yes, babe. You nailed it. And this morning he came out effortless ESP. Drinking in the PJs. And then he went and got changed for camp and he came out in this jersey. Yeah, what else are you gonna wear? And I just want you to know he was so proud. Yeah. And I go, Ben, like this is so major, I go and do you realize Johnny, he'll got this in Spain? Like this is a real one. And he was, I just want you to know, he was very proud about it. So you did good. I agree. I'm impressed. Yes, good. You should be. I am too. I am too. (upbeat music) Tuesday July 21st, 2026. Good morning, everybody. I'm Andy Cohen with John Hill. Hey, John. Good morning. How you feeling today, babe? I really want to see the Odyssey. I do want to tell you, I made a appointment with your eye doctor. Good. Girl, it's $800 to walk in that office. Just for them to look at them. What if I can, can you submit it? No, you may. I mean, maybe I got to call my insurance, but I thought about, you know, when he told me, I knew it was gonna be, I thought of it be like, four hundred. Oh, good. It's eight. Just to have them look in your eyes. And I, and he was like, good. And today, I need to tell you that we don't, we're insurance. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And when he said that, I was like, maybe I'll say to him, like, okay, you know what, I'm gonna circle back. I'm gonna see if I can find an eye doctor. And then I was like, if I end up getting the surgery, it's actually cheaper than the other place I looked at, which was like, so I don't know. Well, let me tell you, but it wind up being okay. Because it's always gonna be out of pocket. The insurance covered my insurance covered my surgery, first of all, but also, I, he is not, I mean, I guess we're going to end here.
we can have this conversation. - Right, right. - Anyway, I think that's a big deal. - But I want you to know, hold on, I want you to know, my insurance doesn't screw with him either, but I submit it and they will let me count it so at an out of network cost. So anyway, I'm glad you're doing that. - 'Cause I really can't see. I'm like, I'm looking at the screen right now. I can't see anything. It's gotten really bad. It's gotten worse over the past year. - Okay, what I will tell you is that they are excellent and they will give you a super thorough, you're in very good hands, which is what you need. - Exactly. - I would like to report that my son's bike riding is continuing on a very positive path. - Thank God. - We have been working on it. He gets up by himself. He's into it and he keeps saying, "Daddy, that feeling when the air is blowing on your face, "it's just the best feeling in the world." And I'm like, it doesn't feel like freedom. - Like flying. - Yes. - Yes. So he's getting into that. Every time we go up on the bike, it ends with a spectacular fall to the ground. And I forgot how kids just really skin their knees and bleed, it's all very primal. - Not one context for it. - Yeah. - It really is. Now after yesterday's show, I did have a serious conversation with them when they got back from camp and I said, we need to talk about the splashing that happened on Saturday because I just needed to reaffirm to them how wrong it all was. - Right. - You know, so that message has been delivered. - Good, good. I'm sure. - Yes. - Just what you know. I just, in just in case anyone wants to come after me, I'm sure that the mailbag is chock full of, you know, Jordan, do I have something nasty to look forward to? - Shockingly no. - No. - I haven't got anything yet, but usually as we're talking about something like this, the mailbag is digging away, but. - Well at the end of the day, the parents said splash and you did it, or are you talking about the accidental one? - Just both. - Yeah. - Just both. - I don't think the one you did consensually is just like, you know, rich white neighbors being funny. You just splash my kids. You know how do you know they were, how do you know they were crying? - They were crying if you're, I mean, I've been through your neighborhood. - Okay. - I don't know. I just mean like, whatever, that tax bracket, people, they're bored having fun time in the storm. I don't think you should worry about that one. The other one, maybe be more carefully on a public road. - Yes. - And they didn't ask for it. - All right. (upbeat music) - Back with more from this week's Daddy Diaries, after this. Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026. Good morning everybody. I am Andy Cohen. In the studio in New York with John Hill. - Hi John. - Hi, good morning. - Good morning. Are you doing something different with your hair, darling? - Well I'm growing it out. - It's been this as long as I've ever had it. - Oh, okay. Well then, there you go. Oh, good morning everybody. So much to get through today. Everybody's a buzz about the Rony trailer. - I watched it. - It's good, right? - It's really good. I, you know, trying not to over-sell it, but I will say it was very gratified by the response. What did you think, Jordan? - I am very into it. I was a little lukewarm on Rony the Pax season, but I'm very excited, very into the trailer. - Yes, I mean. - Well now that one girl is gone, I mean. - Haley Daisy, Erica, great new additions. Carol, like seeing an old friend, but boy, Carol has a lightness about her, and also she is deeply in the next. And it's just, yeah, it's a lot of fun. - And Martha Stewart. - And Martha is in it several times. Daisy is her makeup artist. - Yes, exactly. It's exactly right. So excited to share that with everybody. Also, frankly, not, you know, I thought that the art surrounding the show is like the best, the photographs are absolutely beautiful, just changing the game. So very excited about that. And John Mayer, John Mayer, stayed in my place in the city over the weekend. I was out at the beach with the kids, and he had a gig Saturday night in the city. He had to play somewhere. And he was very concerned rightfully about the smoke in the air and the effect that that was going to have on his voice. He wound up getting me, or he wound up bringing in to my apartment and leaving them to pretty big air purifiers. One is in my bedroom, and let me just show you this, John, and tell me, I mean, it actually goes quite well with the decor of the room. It is, what's the brand? - Blue, I don't know. I have to assume that it's really nice. - Nice in mine, yes. - Well, it looks like R2-D2. - Yeah, it does look like R2. But I think ever since the fire of 2025, I had one in my bedroom as well. So my question to you is, am I keeping these air purifiers? - Really? - Really? - Would you choose to have less clean air? - Well, just decoratively. - Decoratively. - Decoratively. - That beautiful little machine bothers you? - I don't know. There's one in my living room in the corner of my living room, the ceiling. - I think do you want to be alive with good decor or dead with, really as the air in my apartment. - I think the air is not great anywhere. - Neither is the water. - Yeah, but I think you, I have some ugly ones, but I put them away and then when there's another wild fire that's blowing smoke and then you pull them out and you're running, they're good to have. - And that's not that big. I don't have anywhere near the space you have mine and I have a humidifier at the same time. An AC a humidifier and a choreifier. - Well, and if something bad happens and it's like the apocalypse and everybody's trying to buy air purifiers again, then you're gonna be really mad that you're in the-- - Well, I mean, listen, I'm not gonna get-- - Get rid of-- - It's not an eye store. It looks fine in your bedroom. - You're not gonna get rid of that. - It matches the decor. - I just might put it in my office or something. - You can put in, the thing is it's cleaning the air for, it's not just your bedroom. Like it's also cleaning the air in the proximity. Like if you put in their office, the bedroom air will be a little bit cleaner too. - Right, okay. - You can move into your office for a while, if it bothers you like if you, I don't know, have a hot date and one one, I don't know. - What, I mean, what's the problem? It looks, it's fine in your bedroom. - What if he installed a camera in it? - That's the thing, yeah. - Herving out on my-- - I worried about that when I was in B town a little bit. - Like what's in this B and B? - Yeah. - Yeah. - God, the things. - I don't know. - I don't know. - Right. - Just like, one thing I forgot to mention by the way, I did something last night and I think my neighbors saw and heard and it shocked me. - You did something sexual. - A little bit. - I don't wanna talk about it. - Well, why do you think they saw where your windows open? - Because at one point I saw someone go to the, I didn't realize, okay, the building burnt down so those neighbors are gone. - Okay. - I don't ever really think about, there's like a couple other windows across. - Your apartment looks out on the street, doesn't it? - Well, the front part does. The back part looks back onto the rest of my building. - Okay. - I saw someone go and shut the window. I was like, oh, I didn't ever think about that window and I saw blinds come down and I was like, oh, this person wants me out of their eyesight. - Oh, well, well, so that's good. Well, then they weren't looking. - I mean, they weren't. - Anymore. - Watching. - I think they had to. - They were looking, they saw, but they didn't like what they saw. - I can't imagine not continuing to watch. If I saw, I think it was probably really a version of sexual activity, be it lesbians, even two elderly people, no matter what it was, there is, like in other words, even if I was not turned on, there is no universe in which I would not watch the entirety of the performance. - In 2020 when the pandemic happened, everyone was stuck at home. I watched my across the street neighbor riding a guy into oblivion. - A lady or a lady? - Windows opened.
lights on she was like I'm going out as if we're never going to be able to be in public again. I'm going out and so no I am yeah I think my neighbor saw wow we'll see. Um interesting and maybe filmed it. Oh I mean I'm we're speaking of ring camera. Well it sounds like right it sounds like they didn't film it if they closed the blinds and I didn't want to see. Anyway well I mean I'd like to know more about your part your last night me. Yeah. Oh really? Oh you're gonna okay it's really embarrassing. I was on FaceTime with my little lover. Oh no listen. Oh okay that's okay. I what? I had as a joke for a prop in my show I bought a fake butt. Oh boy. And my little lover as a joke was like show me the book. Go fuck that. Oh my god wow I can't believe you're and I like I story. It wasn't actually like we weren't being serious about it. Oh so you were joking about banging the plastic butt on FaceTime and someone saw well that's funny. That is very funny. It was funny. Yeah. I like that. Oh okay so you stuck it in. I did. Oh my god. I know and now I have to get a new prop for the show. Wow. Well I had dinner with Bruce last night while you were banging the plastic. We went to show to you. We went to be a corrode. We were in into Anthony. Oh. It's kidding. Oh wow you are alive and uncensored. Oh my god. Are you showing me the butt? I'm going to show you a picture. I'm not going to show you what I did to it. No I'm sure you're not. Oh my god this show is. Help my mom is not listening today. Where did go? And there's a good chance yours is by the way. Okay show me. Oh that's so cute. I mean is that a boy's butt or a girl's butt? Well I think judging by the giant testicles. Okay. Yeah. Oh my god. Let me see. Well this is that's kind of the scale. Is it seeing anybody? Is it? It's on me last time. Oh look at that. It's bouncy. It is bouncy. It's very nice. Wait but it looks very. Oh my god. Oh my god. I cannot believe what's happening right now in this video. Oh my god. Who did you send that to? Your boyfriend? Well I mean this was just I was sending this to my group chat. Okay. Oh my god. I'm just showing you what it does. Wow that's cute. Okay well just to show it to Jordan. Do you have? That's not the weirdest thing you guys have ever done. I'm sure but I'm not comfortable. Her father is an audiologist. It's an adult toy. I know what it is. It's an Amazon. I don't know. Great. How about Amazon? Yeah. Fake ass, sex toy boy man. Okay. Right. Oh my god. Lincoln bye. I'd like to meet the gentleman that was modeled after him. Yes. Well switching by with any time. Thank you. Switching gears. I forgot to mention at the World Cup half time show we all had a little laugh at my house and I had to explain to my boyfriend the backstory but we really had a laugh. I mean you remember who closed the show at the World Cup half time show. Shakira. Those wonderful kids. Oh the children. Where were they from? Well were they deaf? No they were from PS22. Okay. Do you remember my PS22 story? Yes. Very big trouble. I thought it was very funny what you did. Thank you. I did too. And by the way, there's a part of me that would have liked to have done the same rant about the World Cup half time show. But now of course I'm the father of some school children. Well now those kids you bullied are probably like 20. They probably are. And if you all forgot this story or weren't around when it happened to make this very short, the kids from the PS22 choir who were America's sweetheart having appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and all this stuff and PS22 is a school in Staten Island. They sang somewhere over the rainbow at the Oscars. Can't remember what year this was. I think it was like if I'm guessing 2012 or 2013 maybe and they performed an I tweeted while they were performing something like this socks or something like that. The next morning I'm on morning Joe. Oh, it was 2011. I'm on morning Joe kind of doing a recap of the Oscars and they said, what did you think of the kids from PS22? And I don't remember what I said. Maybe you can find online exactly what I said. The quote. It was something to the effect of like they were wearing t shirts. They look like kids at a telephone. They were I really ragged on them. And of course everyone at the table was laughing, laughing, laughing, which made me keep going on and on. And when I get off the air, I spoke to my mom. I go, how was that? She goes, that was so funny, especially about the kids from the school. I'm like, thank you. And to lunch that day, my publicist at the time Cameron Blanchard, who ran PR for Bravo called me and said, did you really call the PS22 kids? And I can't remember what you said. Yeah, you're giving like a Jerry's telephone. Yeah. I remember that Midler's golden you like how dare you. You're sorry. I was like, wow, they're never done. No, that's Midler kind of. No, I so basically I said that. And then the public says called and said, wait a minute. Did you actually call them this? And I go, yeah, they sucked whatever. And she goes, well, now New York magazine is calling. And this is bad. And then they landed from LA and there were reporters from the post and the Daily News saying, what did you think of what that guy from Bravo said? And of course they never would have known. So I blame the New York Post and the Daily News for railing these kids, you know, day they could have gone by without knowing what I said on morning Joe. What was the quote Jordan? You were quoted as saying there was a thing called up with people in the 70s or 80s. Oscars night is not about up with people like, I don't need to see that. It was just bad. It was just awful. It was horrible. I literally, if I wasn't going to go out to some parties, I would have slipped them right then. It was the worst. I had to stick in my eyes. It was so terrible. Wow. See, you can see they were laughing. So I kept going on and on. You really dug it. And I crescendoed at I was looking for a knife to stick in my eye, which is, you know, not great. But anyway, I, um, so I apologize that night on what's what happens live. And there's an art and then there's an article the next day in the New York Post calling me the Oscar Grouch. And then, um, it went on and on. They talked about it on the view. It was terrible. And the more I apologize, the less anyone cared that I apologized it kept going on. So then I wrote a letter to the choir director and the choir at PS22, which the guy, they had a huge YouTube page. And the guy read the letter out loud on his YouTube page in front of the choir. And what the letter said was something like, you know, even adults make mistakes. And I'm so sorry. And I am an idiot. And really saying, you know, I feel terribly. And I didn't, you know, I didn't mean it. And I learned a big lesson and all this stuff. The choir director then says, well, we have a message for you, Andy Cohen. And do you have the song they sang to me? You know, it sounds so good. With all due, they do sound good. With all due, rude. Because that's not the lesson you teach to this choir. I think it is the lesson if you live in Staten Island. It's kick the kick there as well. By the way, in the video, the kids are all like giving me the thing. Good for them. They're no fight back. That is not the lesson you teach. The lesson is, you know, you know, say, okay, thank you for your apology. You know, you know, I'm a big, it's a safe. Or like, sorry, seems to be the hardest word. I mean, like, but then there's also Scott's growing through it now. Then kids are like talking to camera being like, why he's. Yeah, no, the it was not just the song. It's like kids doubling down. Oh, I know. I know. And then, well, I will say at the time, I was not unhappy to see that the response to that video was that great.
Because people were like, uh, now y'all, what lesson are you guys teaching? So, but you know, they did get a whole round of PR about the PS22 kids have a have a have a message for Andy Go in the Oscar to crouch, but listen. So I won that round. Okay, I don't think when you're in a battle with children, it needs to become like who gets to win. I think Well, as the adult need to go, yeah, my bad, whatever they choose to do is their choice. I did. So what did you think of Mr. Andy Cohen's apology to the chorus? I think that letter was so good. I forget him. I think it was very nice of him. Oh, okay. Maybe they were just kind of like going along with it having little fun. I still think that was the right. Yeah. Think before you speak. Yes. Well, that's what I said. It seems to be great lesson. Okay. Well, those are nice, but that guy took it too far. I think he thought he was being cute and be like, yeah, Andy. And yeah, it was a popular song at the time. Yeah. You don't always have to be right and win. Anyway, that's the lesson. I so I did send a tweet of the red after the PS22. First of all, I told my boyfriend the story. He was horrified. He was like, what did you do? I was like, it was terrible. And I had a friend at my house who works for the New York City Department of Education who was like, oh god, that was so terrible. Andy, like, what did you do? But I did send a thread on Sunday. And I said, the PS22 kids did it again. And I wanted to put hashtag if you know, you know, but I didn't. Because that would have made it shady. But this felt celebratory, which is of course, how I meant it. I flew back to the city yesterday. I took a sea plane. Now, if you know, there was a little sea plane calamity a few weeks ago, landing on the Easter River. And they had a rough landing and everyone had to they crashed. You like, plied from the plane. But everyone was fine. So I kind of felt like, well, you know what? This is actually the best time to take a sea plane. I was like, right right now, the best time to talk about. Yeah, they're going to be so careful. So I did take a flight back yesterday. And we were trying to land on the Easter River. And we came in and I saw two big boats on the Easter River. And I was like, oh, those boats are going to be causing quite a wake. We did about five loops above the Brooklyn Bridge. And these sea planes are low. I mean, you're really seeing what's going on. It's not like when you're doing, it's not like when you're circling in a big plane over La Guardia and you can't really see. You're really aware of what's going on. That I next to me says, what's going on? Now, I'm listening to Madonna and I'm being calm. And I'm like, you know, um, I said, I think those boats were causing a big wake. I think they're waiting for the sea to come down. So we go in for a landing. We go, we like, hit the water for one second and we go right back up. And the guy turned stops the pilot because I'm sitting in row two, which is my preferred, um, row on that plane. The pilot, I like to be by the pilots. The pilot turned us and said, it's too rough to land. We're going to Titorboro. And I was like, good, you know, safety first. The guy next to me is rolling his eyes, sighing. And then we land. And, um, I say, I think the pilots, I go, thank you, you know, and the guy next to, they go, sorry, you guys. Like, we know this is not where you wanted to be, but it was too, it was just too choppy to land. And the guy next to me says, well, did you not realize when we took off from East Hampton that it was that the waters were choppy? The guy is now trying to explain himself, I go, I want no part of this. Just we are here safely. Let's kiss the ground, you know. So anyway, I thought that was an interesting response, you know. Yeah. I mean, he had to be somewhere. I was thinking, there were several times where you've been that guy. And in other situations, not really, not, not, not like, not when safety is an issue. Yeah. Oh, you're looking at me not believing me. I know what you're trying to say, but I also think like for him, you know, maybe he was, maybe someone was dying in the hospital and he safety wasn't as important as getting there. You never know what people are going through. Okay. And like, when you were throwing that tantrum on the plane just two weeks ago, I know, but that was about not being able to find a gate. Right. Because it was, but also that's empty because like, they just like crash into the airport and have to find a gate. Okay. That's. Jordan, can you mediate this? I think I want to stay out of this. Okay. I mean, I just think huffing and puffing regardless of why is always kind of like, you know, some people do it and some people don't. Guess what? I agree. I'm saying, you know, sometimes it's justifies what you're saying. Sometimes it's right to be huffie and puffy. If it's about a thing you believe is right. Oh my god. I hate you. No, I, what I'm saying is that in times of huge unexplained delays and big unexplained, like, oh, we can't get you to your gate even though you just have been in this plane for eight hours with a three hour delay. Yeah. I think it's okay to be frustrated and upset. Yeah. If it was a situation where it was like, guys, we are having mechanical difficulties and we have to get a new pilot or this aircraft, I would not huff or puff for a moment because that's about safety. And I'm safety first. Yeah. I think when you're in a little tin can trying to land in the East River and you're going up and down and death is staring you in the face. You're like, you know what? I'm just going to be calm and let the man do his job. Yes. When you can't really tell what's going on and you're just annoyed on a plane, it's a lot easier to puff you. Thank you very much. I mean, I agree with all that. I'm proud of you for being chill in that situation because obviously it was the right choice to make. And they were looking out for you. They got you their safety. Yes. I just think puffing and puffing is never the answer. Well. Thursday, July 23rd, 2026. I'm Andy here with John and surprise. Debbie Smith is here. Uh-huh. Good morning. And by the way, how good is this new Madonna? I've never heard the entire game in here. Oh, are you kidding? Yeah, no. I'm just like, you know, you know me and Madonna. Yeah. And I love all of her older music. Yeah, yeah. But this is good. This is good. This feels like the album feels like old Madonna. The whole freaking album is really good. Did you call the whole thing she did in New York? No, I didn't. I went to none. I didn't want to go to that grinder time square thing. But I looked at the time square. But I, but I, but I, listen, as I said on the radio, I was there at the bedtime story thing at Webster Hall in 1995. I mean, when you were in like the G, G, general pop. Oh, I was waiting in line for hours and funnily enough. So I could have gone and they even offered to send a car for me. Thank you very much to the thing that she did. The Confessions Club in Brooklyn. But I was like, I gotta be with my kids as a Saturday night. But I remember how times have changed. Isn't that so funny? And obviously I, and I was really having FOMO because not just to see her, but really I wanted to hear the music on a huge dance floor in a club the way that it's meant to be heard. Because I've just been blasting it at my own club, which is where I live and out at the beach. But this album is touching a lot of younger people who've never listened to Madonna before. All my PAs are like, wow, what is this? My babysitter was like, you like this, Mr. C? I'm like, you like this. Right, right, right. This is good news. That's so great. I'm happy for her because you know, one of the things I really hate is I hated the conversation around her. She's just a nice, give it up. Don't do it. Now do I appreciate the butt situation? No, I don't. But other than that, she has a, I think, divine. Weirdly at her because you still can't. You got the oddie to do it, sister. You know, I don't like all the, you know, the place, the space, the smorffier moments either. Because I think she would have been fine with just a little. Me too, yes. You know, like, go deal down with it. Yes. Classic. Um, big weekend this weekend. What's happening? Is Jordan's birthday tomorrow? Jordan. Jordan. Are you going to do a special thing where you're doing a driveway party in your driveway or your back alley? No, no. That was only for the 40th. No, this is. So what are you doing to celebrate? Well, I ordered my own cake. Okay. And then it was always a tough, efficient girl. I wanted what I wanted and I didn't want anyone. I did. I wanted to say for my birthday, I want the kids to do the laundry and bring me breakfast and bed. And that's my gift. No, usually I'm like, I want to be left alone.
- Oh yeah. - What kind of cake did you order? - I'm doing like a chocolate peanut butter situation. - And so you were-- - Owie and Owie. - And not vegan, 'cause I know my kids would opt for an ice cream cake 'cause that's what they like, but I don't want that. - That's your birthday, dammit. - I'm gonna give it to you. - So you gotta cake. - So you gotta cake. - I'm so young. - Thank you so much. - So you're gonna have dinner with the family. - Just a family dinner and then we're gonna go up to a friend's house in Connecticut. - Oh, for the weekend. - And you're gonna get out for like Saturday Sunday. - Ooh. - And you have ton of drugs. - Yeah. - Not not. - Yeah. - Not catty me, Jam. Oh, now you've taken two fucking four. - Can't be. - You ever, Pavy, have you ever done Molly? - No. - No. - No. - Can you believe. - I don't think you're-- - I don't think you're-- - I'm a drugie kind of girl. - Are you? - Well, I'm theory. - In theory. - Right. - I'm a drugie guy. - You're too productive. - I'm too productive. - I'm too-- - Well, it's good. I'm exceedingly productive. - But you're not a drugie boy. - I'm not a drugie boy, but I've done-- - Right. - I mean, I'm a huge pothead. - What is it? - And I've certainly done Molly over the years. - Well, is Molly an ecstasy the same thing? - Yeah. - Molly is a pure form of ecstasy. - I-- - You wanna hear my ecstasy so long story? - Yeah. - It's really good. - Then the Hamptons, Russell Simmons, saying no more. - Okay. - Yeah, the, you know, - Back in the day. - Listen to all that different intersections for people in the day. - Back in the day. - And he had an art auction and I bought a David Lachapel print of Tupac in the tub that was originally in details. - Cool. - I spent more money than I had to do it. So after I spent all that money, I was like freaked out and my friends had some ecstasy. I said, just give it to me. And then Judge Mathis was there and he was hidden on me. - Uh-huh. - Well, I mean, I don't know if he was hidden on me 'cause he was married, but he was digging my groove. - Okay. - Or maybe I was just on ecstasy and thought so. But that was my fun little ecstasy. - So you have that. - Yeah, that ecstasy, but not the Molly. - You know what, so funny? I was at a dead show once. And it was in Chicago. And I ran into someone that I very casually know who is the husband of a woman that I know a little better, but I don't know them very well. And this guy, you know, and I was standing next to him and we were in the crowd. And I stood next to him for the whole show. I think it was one of those shows that I was like quite literally like there with John, but John was on the stage. So I was just in the audience floating around. And I got it in my head because of what I had taken that this guy was like into me. And I, and in my mind, I was like, this is, wow, this is gonna get weird because like I know the wife and this whole thing. And I'm standing there and then as the concert was going on, thank God, a sane version of myself showed up in my head. And was like, dude, you better take yourself out of this right now because you're about to make a crazy lapse in judgment. Like this is not as it appears to you right now. And you know, it would have sounded so much worse like being retold by him. You know what I mean? Oh, it would be so bad. And at some point, it on me, at some point, I will love to tell this couple this story. But it won't be for some time. And again, I don't know them that well. But it's a pretty good story to hear. Don't you think someone, speaking of Madonna, if someone told you that story, would you be amused if some guy was like, oh, I thought you were. Absolutely. Okay. Yes, John, we went to see Madonna Madison Square Garden. And I went to see a Madison Square Garden. I had strep and was on ecstasy. I think I applied you with it. He did. I made you go. You were sick. And I was like, take this. Did you chunk us anyone? No, we were there together. And I remember, yeah, that was a tough juxtaposition. Strep and rolling. Yeah. Well, I would think that the role made the strep go away. I wanted to go away, but it made it tolerable while watching the dawn. Right. I did think she was thinking straight to me during a lift to house. She probably was. She was like, you're on drugs and you have strep. I got my first copy of my new book the other day, which is so great. And it's a photo album of photos I've taken behind the scenes from 20 years at Bravo. And it's a coffee table book. Oh, my God. And it's so cool. And it's such pop art, this book. Yeah. It's taken a photo from Warhol. Yeah. No, I mean, it's like, it's so pop. It's really cool. You have any accommodation photos in there? What does that mean? You know, Warhol did the whole thing. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yes. No, I don't. I wish I did. Anyway, but I digress about that. Tonight we've got Octavia Spencer and Heather Dubro in the clubhouse. Now Octavia is such a housewives fan and she reached out to Heather and they became friends because of the show and Octavia like requested to go on with Heather Dubro, which is wild. And I love that she's she's amazing. Yeah, I love Octavia. I just had an embevelation. You did. Perhaps you've heard of that show. I have. But I've also heard of In Bed with Bevy, which you can find on YouTube. Yes, on YouTube. And well, before we talk about that, let me say, Bevy was our correspondent at Essence Fast with me and Anderson. And it was but that delay is so killer. I mean, it's just it's it's very not only was it killer. It's also, you know, we had to move places at the last minute. Wow. Crazy. I mean, this was on July 3rd. She came on Bevy to tell us about what was going on in Essence Fast. But then I felt so bad because we did a second. We went back to Bevy and she had Sherry Shepherd there and they couldn't hear us. Sherry Shepherd over from VIP. And from her like drink to the point, I was like, girl, come on and do this for me. And she didn't and then we couldn't hear anything because it was a whole concert. Yeah. Corn on my mind. It was insane. Essence Fast was the same time as your great big Weenewase American Jamboree. Yes. You know what we should have done now that I think of now that I think of it. Knowing that the sound was bad, could you hear her when you were standing there? Not even because I would have thrown it to you and had you interview Sherry and come back to us. That's what we should have done. Because remember we had on the can. Yes. So and then music was super loud. But yeah. But while you were at Essence, you did a fashion queen's reunion. Fashion queens. Union that bravo universe. And is this up on YouTube now? Up on YouTube. Okay. I'm going up on Tuesday night. And you and Miss Lawrence and Derek J. And is Derek J still doing hair in Atlanta? He is. But you know, like now he's the key hair stylist on huge productions. Like really? Yeah. He does like all these big movies and TV shows. For him. Yeah. So he makes a really good living. But he wants to get back into and being in front of the camera. Oh really? Yeah. So you know Lawrence, how is Lawrence doing? Incredibly well. Lawrence is still acting, singing, doing all the things. And he also is being a very astute business man. Because one thing he learned doing and we talk about this a little bit on in bed with Bevy. One thing he learned is that you know, when the pandemic hit and everything shut down and then film production and now film production is back and TV production is back. But it's a much lower level. So everyone that does this kind of work, you got to have something else. You have a never revenue stream. I was talking to Vicky Gunwellson about this yesterday. About revenue streams. Yeah. You got to have multiple revenue streams. So you cannot just rely on having a TV show or a radio show or anything like that. You got to have multiple streams of income. And if you can own something for yourself, even better. But we talked about Andy, of course, we talked about Andy giving us the show how we didn't have to audition. I forgot what the show that did I want to call it. You want to call it Black Beauty. And we will like you know. Oh my god. Yeah, we will like you know Andrew Cohen. We can't do that because we would have been lambasted child would have been a mess. But also it worked out really nice that we didn't call it that because it wasn't just a black. No, it wasn't. So yeah, so it was really good. But it was great to reminisce with the boys. We cackled. We key keys. And then we found out the little Derek Jake couldn't stand us and that for four episodes he said absolutely nothing. He could not stand me and Lawrence and we never heard that. So like coaching is later. You know, we're finding out because I'm like, oh, we always love each other and everything is I believe at times I couldn't stand y'all. We were like, excuse you. We have the gag award. Well, the two of you are the two of you are two very big personalities. So I would imagine for young Derek J. You know what I love about Derek J on that show. He was, he had the energy of sometimes like an auntie sitting on the porch. Like you would call on him and he would just say his thing but he was so understated and low key, especially compared to you two show people. Yes, yes, yes, no pony. You know, but I he really was like an auntie sometimes. It was giving much energy. He was just in the best possible way. I mean, everybody had their own. Yeah. I was a person of a vagina. How many, how many, how many episodes did you do of that show? Do you remember?
of fashion. A fashion group. I have no idea. I need to be like 50 or something. More. 'Cause they were long seasons. They were long seasons. I think 22 episodes per season we have three seasons. Yeah. Wow. And you know I was looking through pictures today. And do you know we did the up fronts the same month that the show got canceled, which makes not a lot of sense. Oh, no. That's not. But you guys appeared at the upfront. Yes. That's crazy. Thank you guys. So weird. I was going to say that you guys were out there. I said to him, you know, he said a few days later, why am I going to this thing? And I said it's meaningful to me. I go, I'm not going to bring you into a lot of work things, but this is a big one. What is it? It's something for the premiere of the Ultimate Girls trip. Okay. And so I go, these housewives, Kyle, Vicki, Porsche, I mean, I have worked with them Theresa for 10 plus years. Like, it's time for you to meet some of my work people that have been important to me. And it's time for them to know that you exist. Yeah. You know, like, you're, this is serious. So we will stay tuned for that. Stay tuned for that. Stay tuned for that. And by the way, if they meet him, you will be getting their first impressions on the radio during our little interview. Oh, you'll say, what do you think? You'll ask, I will say what did you think? Yeah, yeah. It was so funny because I sent, I had told Porsche about him. And I sent a picture of us to Porsche afterwards because she said I want to see him. And she goes, wow, you're with someone older than you. And he is 16 years younger. And so I loved this. Well, don't that's. I loved it. I go. I said to him like, sorry, I told him. Of course I told him. He's rude. I mean, that is correct. 16 years younger. Yeah. Okay, well, that's not great. Well, look, well, as long as daddy gets what he wants. Bevy, did you see, did you see the Odyssey? Not yet. She doesn't have 10 hours to spend. You have to go to Lincoln Center. I'm X. Right. But I'm X 70. It's a whole thing to have to do. That's what I saw it in. Oh, you did. You went to Lincoln Center. I went to the premiere. Oh, well. Well, all right. Okay, well, all right then, shit. The other day when they were talking. When they were talking about it, people called in like, what's wrong with John today? When they were talking about going to the premiere. We saw on the biggest screen in the world. And we were there and I was like, oh, fun. Cool. Like I didn't have a lot to say to that conversation. No, don't have a lot of that. Oh, did you get lambasted for that, John? Oh, if you recall, it happened on the show. Oh, oh, yes, someone called in and said you seemed checked out. Yes. I wasn't there. I know. I wasn't even in New York. Right. I know. I know. Oh, my God. Did you see the Michael Jackson movie? Of course. I just watched it. How was it? I thought it was good. Oh, I can't wait to see it. I had been saying I didn't want to see it. You want to see it on the screen? I didn't see, I never go to movies. I never go to movies. Okay, but there's some movies that you have to see. I know you're right. You're right. I liked it more than I thought I would. I was expecting more of like, the story. Yeah. I mean, but it was, I mean, like people saying like no new information, but it was a very good representation. I didn't know. Like, I don't like seeing a kid being beat. Yeah. But that was real. That's what happened. That's what you want. Yeah. Oh, did they show Joe Jackson senior beating them? That's what I took most from it is that part of the story, which does inform a lot of his life. Yeah. And I think home in the mingle will get his fourth Academy Award nomination. She's great. Did he play Joe Jackson? Yeah, he played Joe Jackson. So is part two going to some allegedly, right? It's going to deal more about the cases, but you can't really say a lot about the cases because it's all kinds of like paperwork and will it deal with him like, disfiguring his face and stuff? Yeah. I mean, they do a little bit in the first part. They do a little bit in the first part. Yeah. And I, from that angle, it was more kind of like pressure from industry and him feeling so observed and perceived. Yeah. Well, he clearly, you know, he went off the, well, you know, it's contagious that surgery. Yes. I mean, how many people do we know? It's a very stupid, I mean, people do we know the story that was just a little, and then by the way, you know, look at Sally Parton, who, you know, was, I mean, she's that aggressive plastic surgery. I mean, but it looks good. No, yeah. Listen, we're used to it. Oh, is that what it is? I mean, there were, no, there was a time, 20 years ago where this was actually like a conversation where people, it was less common at the time. Yeah. Well, now they're saying everybody's had them. I mean, Emily Blunt and half the way. I'll get it. Why did they vol, what? At a face lift already. Yeah, they're face the forehead. Like they're all doing them earlier. Yeah. They're starting to get 40. 43. No, they're starting to tell. And Brazil like that. Like, let me know if you say you get the one down here first and then that last for five or 10 years, then you get the second one. Yeah, I'm not, you know, I haven't done that.
anything to my face as I would never need to. It's perfect. You know, who knows? But my lollie held up so well that I'm hoping. Yeah, she don't ever do a Zembek. That's what takes you down, right? I just think like, well, as you get older, you would turn into a raisin. I just think I don't hang door, but you say a race. I thought it was like you get the jowls. Yeah. I'm sure question, baby. Yeah. I think about the way that Oprah is perceived by like black Twitter, which is not positive. Yeah. You know, we live through the dominance of the Oprah Winfrey show and the impact on the culture. Number one thing on television, period, period, ever. And from where I sat. Yeah. But again, I'm not a person of color. No, but from where I sat to me, it brought me an understanding of an experience that I knew little about Oprah. Yeah. I mean, well, she would have Tony Morrison on and she would have. Well, hold on. Let me just finish and then I want to hear because I this is that's why I'm asking you. Maya Angelou and you know, whatever. I mean, so was I just watching a whitewashed version of culture? I'm not going to ever call it whitewash. What I'm going to say is that Oprah Winfrey. Okay, this way I always break it down really quick. Okay. Hip hop is the great divide. Okay. So people, black people that were born before hip hop became the predominant music are different. They deal more in respect to building politics. They deal more in covering white approval. It's just different. It's a different era. Yes. I am the first generation of hip hop. So, you know, I'm far more fight the power. Yes. I felt I have far more. I don't. Obviously, you know, I have a lot of white friends relationships and all the things. But I don't I don't think I ever wanted to be like when I think about people I wanted to be, you know, she cried with Mary Tyler Moore came on. I love Mary Tyler Moore. I'm not probably going cry when she come on my TV show. Now, I might cry if Diane can come on my TV show. I'm not saying it's a divorce or down the voice. That's a she wouldn't cry for Diane Canva, but you see what I'm saying? Yes. So back in the day when she was coming up, you didn't have a lot of black people and prominent spaces for you to do this, like, you know, kind of a door into. So she had a lot of white references and influences. And that, of course, now doesn't fit well into the society that we live in, which is so anti-respectability politics. And by the way, she did not, she famously never embraced hip hop, hip hop. Famously, famously, yeah, famously. But now, you know, so they become big. So during that time that she was so dominant in the culture, were you, did you disregard her or did you? I mean, like you know, she was Oprah, right? You know, I mean, you knew she was Oprah. And certainly you were rooting for her. As he's a ray famously said, I'm going to root for everybody. This black. Um, but did I go to Oprah for my black fix? So to be like, yeah, you know, black lady on TV, I'm going to watch her every day because I know she's going to be representing for the culture. What in that? Are you saying your whole is that? Yes. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Yes. Yes. See, one does hip hop and one does not. Yes. And that is the big, that's the big kind of the castle. Yes. Okay. Good. Thank you. I should probably write a sub-sac on that shit. Yeah. Yes. But then I want to talk about Oprah like that because of all of a sudden, you don't want to be money calling her a quote unquote raggedy. Definitely. Did you read our Sunday on Spock? I didn't. It was good. I know it was. I really wanted to. You thought he was gay. You told him that I did. I live without you look 16 years older than me and I said, oh, you're gay. I did think that. But you know what? I thought it. It made an interesting interview. But also I wasn't the only one. I mean, people that was a dialogue going on. He's going to be if he, I hit this only late night show I watched when I was in high school. But not with a boner. No, but I thought it might be. I mean, he's more gay than other people. Acting. Then Johnny Carson. Oh, yeah. Have you never heard that kind of. Oh, yeah. Or speculation about Arsenio. You have. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. All right. Yeah. But I didn't. That's the. I mean, so not. You know, he was never like a person that you want to see underneath his clothes. That's true. So I don't care as much. Like if I have one, if I've been lusty about him, there may be able to have been like more like. Did you lust after back in the day? Yeah. You got to remember I was a New York hip hop party. So mostly by less depth, I felt. Oh, name, name. Never name it. Name. There. I was told early in my run at watch what happens live that late night hosts get all the pussy should be asexual. You know, they should be really. Bullics that people that you're kind of putting people to bed. And it's not you're supposed to be more kind of friendly and approachable than like really being to. And when you think about all the late night hosts, they're not putting out a, you know, aggressively sexual vibe. Johnny Carson. Johnny had magic and flirty. He had a very sexy. It was sexy. Yeah. And there's a kind of sexual one back. I mean, he was still he was still all buttoned up in a suit. David Letterman seemed like he could jerk somebody off. Yeah. David. I had a little and you do a widespread. You stood out. Do you still do that widespread? But you're going to go out to a wide spread occasionally. Yeah. That's sexual. Well, I mean, if I'm, if I'm loosened up. In other words, if I'm, if I'm drunk like, yes, yes, yes, yes. We talked about that. The fact that one fashion queens, we've a drunk almost every single episode. And maybe that's why we talked over Derek Jay because we were drunk. We didn't know. Well, you weren't live. Like you taped for a little bit longer sometimes. Oh my God. Yes. John Hill was one of our writers. Yes. God. That show was so funny. It was so funny and so fun. Really good. And we, at Lauren Ashley Smith was one of our writers. And we all, and we shout out to Andy Cohen for giving it to us. You know, that's my favorite thing to say. And when people just talk crap about my Andy, I say, I don't know about what you're talking about. Because Andy Cohen has given me that if someone else will say to me the other day, why is Andy doing more for you? I said, well, I'm more than a man do. I said, what do you people want out of people? And I know like the entitlement of people. That's the damn problem. They look at all the Andy Cohen has. And they're like, well, why don't you have more of what he has? Mitch, because that's his shit. Right. It doesn't have anything to do with me. Well, well, I think fashion queen's was one of my best. Yeah. I was. I remember going into Francis Barrick's office and was like, what if it was like, that's, and we taped a pilot like we did. And it was also, by the way, one of the easiest shows to get everybody got what it was. Embassy row got it together. They brought you all the y'all said, yes, quickly. We did it. I mean, it was like easy breezy, peasy. You guys actually had fun. Like it was a positive. It was a good vibe. The camera guys on fashion, please. And Rich is still my camera guy. But I remember they would, because y'all used my teeny rinky dig studio. You redressed it for fashion, but I remember talking in the fashion to the camera guys. And they would be like, this show is so funny. They loved it so much. They loved you guys so much. It's very sweet. It was very sweet as are you. And I can't wait to have you in bed with Bevy. Great. When the pop book comes out. Great. We're going to lay out. Bevy, I love catching up. Would you thank you for hanging out with us. The insight you have provided me on the layers and levels of the Oprah Winfrey effect are very helpful to me. And you can subscribe to Bevy's show in bed with Bevy on YouTube.
