A Nightly Pop Reunion with Hunter March & Nina Parker

Morgan Stewart, Nina Parker, and Hunter March reunite for a heartfelt and reflective episode of the Morgan Stewart Show, celebrating the legacy of *Nightly Pop* and the deep personal connections formed during its run. The show, which aired from 2019 to 2022, was a trailblazer in pop culture, offering bold, unfiltered opinions and early embracing of digital trends, setting it apart from traditional television. However, it was abruptly canceled without proper notice or respect, especially when Hunter March was undergoing major back surgery. The network’s handling of the cancellation—revealing the news during a critical medical moment—was deeply disrespectful and emotionally damaging. Morgan emphasizes how the show’s cancellation exposed systemic failures in how talent is treated, particularly the lack of empathy and support during personal health crises. Despite this, the hosts maintain a strong sense of pride in their work, crediting *Nightly Pop* with shaping modern pop culture discourse. The episode also touches on Hunter’s personal journey, including his surgery and the emotional toll of being sidelined. Morgan shares that he now runs a successful clothing line and hosts a new show on TBS, reflecting on how the experience taught him the value of authenticity, emotional intelligence, and professional resilience. The conversation underscores a broader lesson: true success in entertainment comes not from following trends, but from building genuine relationships and maintaining integrity—values that *Nightly Pop* championed, even when it was ultimately dismantled by a lack of respect and vision.

(upbeat music) - Hey everyone, I'm Morgan Stewart and welcome to the Morgan Stewart Show. I'm gonna be talking about pop culture, fashion, my personal life, and just a warning, I will be giving my opinions on everything. And those opinions are subject to change, okay? Now, let's get into it. Hi guys, oh my God, I am so excited. This is like nightly pop, I'm just as not prepared. (laughing) I am so excited because today on the Morgan Stewart Show, we have none other than Nina Parker. (cheering) You like the sound effects this came with. And then our favorite, our favorite ever, Hunter March. - Hunter. - Hunter. - Hunter. - Hunter. - Hello, Hunter. - People so call you Hunter? - No one called you Hunter, but us. - No one really calls me Hunter. - But like Lonnie. - Yeah, well, when I last talked to Lonnie for years ago, she might have referred to me as Hunter, Hunter. - Also, can I tell you, I just want you guys to know, meaning the audience. This came together so naturally, we had been talking about you guys coming on for a few months and then no different from back then, I'm extremely disorganized and chaotic. And I was like, we gotta get it done, we gotta get it done. I texted you guys last Thursday. Nina was drunk in Miami, doing shit. Hunter was, I don't even want to know. - Sober on the West side. And I was like, can you please make Wednesday work? And they both fucking showed up. It was one text message and we're all back together. - We're family. - Family. - This fuck show or not, we still family. - I know, honestly, it makes me-- - We're in the trenches. - I yesterday was like, my daughter's graduating. - Oh my god. - I know. - Also, you're like graduating bitch. You're just finishing, right? - Well, Hunter, did you finish school? I'm thinking about, I don't know if I want to keep going. Wait, your daughter graduated kindergarten? - No, sorry, I fucked it up already. She's graduating her preschool. So tomorrow, she's graduating in preschool. - Okay, that feels a little better. 'Cause I like kindergarten. - No, five years, we'll talk about kindergarten. It was crazy. So she's, I'm like kind of in a more emotional state. 'Cause I'm like, we're all getting back together. It's nostalgic. And then, I looked up the show. I thought the show ended in 2023 for some reason. - Oh, 22. - That was a long fucking time ago, guys. - You were so crazy. I feel like after the pandemic, time moved like so fast. Because it feels like two, three years ago, it doesn't feel like it's been so long. - Well, how long is that now? How long was trying to do? - 22 is like a hundred years ago. - Yeah, like a hundred. I was telling Morgan, but I showed somebody, every once in a while, I'll show someone clips from nightly. Pop will be like, "I want to scroll back." - Oh, you're like my glory days? - Literally, yeah, like, check out how funny this moment is, where I tell Nina to ask the question that Seth wants her to ask. - Oh my God, that clip still lives free in my head. - It's so good. - It is so good. - It is so good. - No, we have get chemistry. We were all, I think we were a little ahead of our time, honestly. I've been a part of a lot of shows and I feel like nightly pop is the one where people, I get messages weekly, still about nightly, it's crazy. - I know what you guys do, but I do. - No, I get it all the time. Do you get messages? - I don't really get messages. - Ever since I got a fiance, I stopped getting messages. - How is that free? Is that tough for you? - Congratulations. - Thank you so much. - Do you have a wedding date first? - No. - Okay, but we-- - So we got engaged like, whatever it was, five months ago. So it's not that-- - Okay. - We've also been waiting. I have like projects that I'm doing right now that dictate whether we have a really nice wedding or we're gonna do backyard wedding. So kind of waiting to find out where all the chips fall. - Are you guys living together already? - We've been living, yeah. - Okay, it's been a lot. - We've moved in like four months into dating. - Oh, I love that. - 'Cause I know. - I know. - I know. - I'm pretty. I put it pretty for real. Like, there's not many people. - That's a big compliment coming from you. - Okay, wait, no. First, my unsolicited advice about wedding, do the backyard thing anyway. - I told someone that last night. - It's a waste of money and you're gonna have more fun with less people there. - Tell her. - Does she want a big wedding? - She doesn't want a big one. At first, she found something called Sunstone Villa in Napa and was like, this is-- - Can we pull that up? I want to see Sunstone Villa. - It's so beautiful. And I think neither of us really had a good idea of how much weddings cost. - I knew they were expensive only by anecdote. - Would they cost like 100K? - A wedding at Sunstone Villa would be like minimum of 100,000. It would be like all the way up to 200, to 50,000. - Sure, wow. - So minimum of 100,000? - Yeah. - That's not including her dress and your-- - No. - Apparently, dress is not included, which I'm not sure if I agree with that. Since it's not gonna be used for the after party, it's just the wedding. It should be just a wedding cost. (laughing) But yeah, so I'm learning a lot of that stuff. But I think I might try to be like, "Hey, whatever we don't spend on the wedding." - A wedding is stunning. - Oh, it looks like you're in Italy. - That's it. - It's gorgeous. - So it's stunning. - Okay, so I hope she doesn't listen to this podcast 'cause we're not doing that. (laughing) You guys are literally fucking me right now. - You can also do it all of Garden and make it look like-- - That's the way. - That's what I told you. - That's how. - I said we get, if catering's included, we can do the all of Garden. - If you do the all of Garden, I'd be there, I'd be with Bales on it. - About me too, I won't. - But yeah, so we're planning it right now, though. And again, I feel so lucky 'cause I think you guys got to see me in my dating phase. - Yeah. - Was it dating? - Was it dating? - Remember when you dated the (bleep) (laughing) - Because Hunter was such a hot boy. And she was following me. So I was posting Nightly Pop. So she found Hunter through my page and she was like, "Oh, he's cute." And I was like, "She's your shot, bitch." And she did, and he reciprocated me. - He went, "Oh, she's a sorry, so funny." - This is years ago, this is years ago. This is like two, three weeks ago. (laughing) No, the story is so funny too, 'cause she set up a date and she was doing, we have to believe so much of these like specifics out. - It was the best. - It was the best, and every guy was looking at me, like, "Who the fuck is this guy?" And I was like, "Introducing myself." It was like, "Introducing." - And then she posted him on her Instagram. She posted a picture of them. - I love that we're talking about a time that I literally don't even know. - Why, did we talk about that on the show enough? - I don't think we ever talked about it on the show. - I don't think we ever talked about it on the show, but she is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and she's so kind. - How long did this go on? - We only went on that one day, but we talked, like, Nina and I had been chatting about it when we were, - Oh, I was chatting on the show. I was like, "You gotta do a foot of plot "and then tell me everything." - Wait, that 100%, but why did you not go out again? - It wasn't Atlanta, like, I just didn't really make sense, but it was fun. She was really, really, really kind and had the best time. He came back and was like, "She's the sweetest girl." She's like a sweetheart, hard to gold. - You had the best time, 'cause you were sick. You were not single, I mean, you were the most, you were single. - We started, I wasn't single. - Say the name of the guy that you were. - Wait, let's go back, - Please shift that out. - What, no, that was, - I'm not saying that now. - But I was, I'm gonna say, I was really proud, we were both proud of you because there was a period with that relationship where we did not know if we were gonna see you leave that relationship through the duration of the show. - I'll show you guys saying that. - And you did, and we had a lot of time left on the show. - You have to wait for her, I think. - I think we were probably together the first two years. - Two years. - Here and a half, two years, and it was like draining me. - Completely. - I think I would tell you guys, like, stuff, and you would be like, "What is happening?" He was, - Tell us stuff. - He was awful, like, he was a cheater, like, he was awful, but we were in it, we were living together, we had a dog. And so I just was kind of, and I was, you know, I think I was also at the age where I was in my 30s, and everybody was kind of, like, you're a black woman in this industry, you need to have a relationship and settle down, so I think I was trying to make it, 'cause he, you know, he was willing to get married, and I think I was just really trying to make it work because I was supposed to. - I didn't know you had that pressure. - Yeah, for sure, and people were just like, "You know, you're getting old here, and you're, you're egg to getting old here," and you, you know, he's into it. And people know him, like, you should just make it work. And there was that, like, okay, like, maybe I should just focus on this because my career's going good, and I just need the things. And I think that's really a life lesson I learned there was just like, fuck that, like, you know. And I just really didn't realize the power I had on my over my own piece, like, I could just leave. Like, I can just, I actually don't have to deal with this shit. I don't have, 'cause I would, you know, at the time, we were all doing multiple things. We were doing life from E, nightly pop, daily pop, and then I was also doing dating no filter, and I remember working like 12-hour days. - You were still doing reunions, then, too, no? - And reunions from love and hip hop, like, I was busting my ass, and I would come, I remember, like, driving home and ordering, you know, food for DoorDash, because he'd be like, I'm hungry. And I was just, like, blacking out, because I was so tired, and I'd come home, and he'd be playing video games. And I was just like, I'm ready to set this shit on fire. - I remember that time. - It was dark, it was a dark time. - It really was, and I feel like that was, we started, what year did we start nightly pop? I don't remember. - Was it 2018, 2018, I think? - I don't know. - October 29th, 2019. - Oh, okay, 2019. - October 29th, Scorpio, not Libra, Scorpio baby. - That explains it. - That explains it, and then it went all the way to September, 2022. - Crazy. And then after you ended that, you had yourself a little white boy summer. - Did you? - Wait, what happened? Let's go back into that, and then I want to talk about it. - You deserve to get your lick back. - Who was that? Is that the white boy I know? - Yeah, yeah. - Was that a summer? - And I deserve it, 'cause I put him on blast. - But was that a summer? - Oh, no, no, it was longer than a summer. - It was longer than a summer, yeah. - I would hear the stories, and I'd be like, "Dad, do we have to talk about it on the show?" And she would go, "No, no, no." And then I said, "Okay, as long as you never bring up "my past, I'll never bring up your past." - That's what happened. - I gotta take the L, 'cause I just blasted him. - But I think we brought it up a few times. - No, we never did. - Never won. - No, never on the show. - We were all really good about respecting if somebody was like, we would joke, but if somebody was like, do not mention it, we were good about it. - I'm trying to think, I mean, obviously, I remember we started upstairs, so we started on the 30th floor at E, they had the 30th floor where they did nightly pop, daily pop, everything was on the same set. And then how far into nightly pop? - Maybe like a year. - And then we moved downstairs. - Right, it was pretty quick, it was pretty quick. - Yeah, remember when we had to take two shows in one day? Remember when we used to have to change our clothes and it was so ridiculous. - Wasn't that just you and I? You didn't have to do that much, right? - I didn't change clothes. - Yeah. - But it was because we were shooting like a Thursday and a Friday show. - Right. and they wanted just nothing about nothing about the way that show was run made any sense. And when you said like we were ahead of our time, we weren't. We were at a perfect time. Everything else was just so vast, like it was so backwards. Yeah, and you've always had that forward thinking because you started in YouTube. So you always kind of had, I will say to give Hunter a lot of credit. Like he always had like where people are now. Hunter Hunter's mentality would be like, Hey, we need to be doing this. And I think eventually he was just like, fuck it, like they're not going to listen. So I'll just ride the wave, but like they're not. That's really where we started to see the downward spiral of entertainment TV because we saw that they were so stuck because every time we tried to do anything that was forward thinking or include digital, we always got resistance. And it was really like a tell-tale sign of where the industry was going to go. And you really were like advocate for like YouTube and really trying to get us in a place and they just didn't want to do it. Even TikTok, I feel like you were at the full front of TikTok. And TikTok had started when we were at the tail end of Nightly Pop, right? Like, yeah, I think somewhere in the Nightly Pop world and just everything was such a battle for things that made so much sense. It was, finally, I think we just all were like, fuck it. I think we had to get into just like, unfortunately, I think it was so hard to fight against it. We got tired because we had real life stuff going on and we all had multiple projects. And I think we were like, if they're not going to get on board, we'll just do our own thing. I started my clothing line. Like, we all just kind of were like, we're tired of fighting this machine because they just didn't want to listen and it was stuff that was easy. Like, it wasn't hard to do because we had the ideas already. It was literally just the action that they would just like, no, we don't want to do that because it had never been done. And instead of being like, oh yeah, let's be innovative. They just wanted to kind of follow the status quo. And ultimately was the demise of all the live shows. A hundred percent. I think also our staff was so burnt out with all the shit that they were doing. They were constantly being told no, so they were like, don't even bring us stuff because we're not going to be able to get this through. And I think like the potato was just passed to like one uncool person to the next, right? Like, they had no clue about really what to do. But we like brought our A game. I feel like every fucking day and had such a good show. And to your point, when we first started, like the messages I get in the impact, like we were never made to feel like this show was successful. Totally. Ever. It was always like on the precipice or if we get this or did it up. But then what sometimes we would have crazy retention from the from the show before us. But we were never like made to feel like you guys have something really special. And the show is really good. They didn't even invite us to the people choice. I see we can't get it. We can't get a seat at our own at our own workshop. Yeah, I always think when I look at bigger networks, you know, like a CBS or whatever, they'll bring they'll bring somebody from, you know, CBS Ghost is presenting. You're like, who is this person presented? But they don't put them on stage. They're going to highlight their own shows. And it was always so weird that like they wouldn't use people from Nightly Pop, Daily Pop, e-news at their own award show. Yeah, unless it was working in the carpet. But like we should have been involved because this is our home network. Like you don't want it. They treated us like we was doing the ballet. No, no, no. Yeah, also Carpets. So true. The worst. This is junkets. The junkets. Oh my gosh, junkets. The worst. The junkets. The worst thing invented. When I sign my contract, I don't know. I think I might have told you guys this over time. But like when I signed my contract, I told my agent. I was like, I don't want to do junkets at carpets. I hate junkets at carpets. And then he was like, you have to do the main ones. Oscars, Emmy. He's like, you should be excited about it. And I was like, so many people do want to do. Yeah, I was like, wait, I'll do that. But as long as it's like Nightly Pop. And then they started going Hunter. If you want to keep this job. This is their game. You have to do the junkets. Just like everybody else. And I said, 100%. Let me reread my contract and make sure that I'm not imagining that I signed something that said I didn't have to because I'm not going to. And I never did. And that was forward thinking because now with like the Gen Z, they're very much like, look at the contract. But back then it was like, you do what we say. Or we're going to ice you out and get you out of the network. Like back then it wasn't. It was really frowned upon to like, just if I'm just sticking to the contract, they felt like you weren't doing enough. And they, you know, you could get blacklisted like that. It was so manipulative. It's a thing to do. You were growing against this network who's basically pushing you to do things that aren't in your parameters. And most people just did it. I know I did for many, many years. And I think now is a time where it's like, you can't really get away with that shit. Like people will put you on blast to do a TikTok story, whatever, and just really highlight how awful it is. And they're scared of that now. But back then there wasn't really people weren't doing like, you know, story time. So, you know, they were afraid of story time. You would be great. I wouldn't even, I don't even remember enough to do it. But wait, you did one junkage. You remember we watched it back when we did that when we were at the devil. We were at the W and it was after Oscars. I wore the bow tie. You did a junket before that. For the Oscars and then I did the Vanity Fair red carpet. And we did like the Miley Cyrus center. Yeah, which was really good at it. But didn't they say after like you could never do that again, something was inappropriate or something? No, it was a whole one thing that happened was Jeff Goldblum. And I were having such a good time. And I said something like, I don't know. We were being so playful and he loved it. And then they said, you have to treat them with reverence. And I said, oh my God. That's what the audience wants to have less of a connection with these people. Like, everything that they wanted to do was to create this like, they were like, oh, news and media is now at everyone's fingertips on social media, which was ultimately the demise of most like news networks, especially in pop culture. But it was like, oh, it's all the fingertips. Nightly pop was the cure for that. And that we had an opinion, which is what you could not get on social media. At your fingertips, like you get other people's opinions. But if you wanted like a curated, really specific opinion from these three hosts, you had to go to nightly pop. Wasn't that the whole point of that show? Like, isn't that why they created it? They needed that sort of late night's snark. And then I remember we would get notes weekly of like, okay, it's two crafts. It's two crafts, which we did tend to go there. But like, it was like, it was like, I would play into it. But I also hear it. This is, again, this is some of the stuff that like so bother me. This is so specific, but they were like Hunter. Can you stop saying, like, first words or things about my dick? And I was like, because they were like, when you talk about your dick, because of the length that it's too much of a show. Oh my god. This is where we are. They're like, as soon as you start counting issues, it's worth into an hour-long show now. And so, no, they said, you can't curse because it's hard for us to cut it out. And I said, are there a bunch of six-year-olds doing the cutting? Or are they professional editors who can mute something? I know how to edit. I know what they're doing. And they fought me on it. And then I went to the editors and I was like, hey, do you guys have any trouble? And then I went back to the, and I was like, hey, just so you guys know. How do we go to the source? Who is a problem? You really should have been on Real Housewives because he had receipts. You're like, I don't go to the editors. I used to get in trouble, but here's the thing they could never get that mad because nothing I did was in the pursuit of benefiting myself. It was all everything I fought for was for the show. You never ego. It was always like, I want the show to be better. You could take me off the show. But I think you should have people saying, like, what they want to say, like it doesn't matter. All of these like arbitrary rules are just inhibiting real conversation. Real people, real potential, real, like the show could have really skyrocketed and been something and even turned into a digital show as the network kind of died down. So I do really see with the messages like, fuck, it's always just so mismanaged. But I guess he has mismanaged themselves into a place where they're basically oblivious. And I think like they also didn't want to piss off celebrities. And I just think that's such a poor, to be a slave to celebrities is such a poor position to be in because they're always going to choose themselves. So like, you know, one of the things, I mean, they are, it's true. You know, and one of the things I enjoyed when I worked at TMZ when I first got my start, is that I really started in such an unprogressive way that it shaped how I thought about the rest. I think if I would have started it like a ET or the insider or extra, I would have been more uniformed. I just would have fell into the status quo. Different training, different training. But I went in there and, you know, to his credit, even though I think, you know, he's a evil genius. Harvey Levin would be like, I don't give a fuck about a, about a publicist. I don't care. Is it true? Ask him for a statement. We're putting it up. We're not going to be slaves to these people. He also was like, we're not covering weddings. We're not covering engagements. Like, we're not doing the fluff. We're going to do the real stuff. And like, we're not going to, we're not going to back down. And what I noticed after a year or two is even though they would fight, they, we didn't have to be beholden to them because we weren't covering red carpet. So if you didn't like me, who gives a shit? I'm not coming anyway. You know what you can do? You can just get the house crew cut bridge and cover it anyway. When we started at the sort of A-list celebrity was so specific. It was the Brad Pitt. It was all those people now. You don't need to be those people to be a celebrity. And there's so many different types of celebrities. And I feel I don't know how you guys feel coming back into the space, doing the podcast, doing the clothing line, doing sort of my own social media. I feel like there is so much more competition than there was when we were on TV. Yeah. There's more people being good at what we were doing then at that time. Yeah, but you know what I think like talent still kind of rises to the top. So I think like, okay, good. You know, I just, I think people come in and they get opportunities. But like, you know, I still think there's a skill set that like you learn from TV that really keeps you like how you operate on social media. Because there are so many people who I think are talented. But when they are doing an interview or how they respond to comments, can really kill their momentum. Because they don't know how to talk to people. And I think the one thing we learned being there is like we really learned like what to give and what not to give or what to respond to. Because we would get inundated with so much. And you do get trained on like, I'm not going to give this my energy. Or this is my time to read this person. But it really shapes like your professionalism. and what a lot of people are lacking. even when they go viral is they get kind of put from the frying pan into the fire and they don't know how to handle all these moving pieces. And even if it's a big platform, they're still kind of like, you know, I realized so many people are very green when they're fine because they're just like it's and it's overwhelming. And it is just something you learn with skill and with time. And the only way that you get that longevity is to build your relationships. Like that's what's going to keep you alive. And if you burn and everything as soon as you come in, you burn you in and out in two years. A hundred percent. So true. Like if you're, we have like actual skills, right? Or are you asking? Yeah. Like for me, like, I need you to own that you do. I do. I know say, I need, I need to do today. Look, look, look at behind you girl. I know. Look at that. Look at that. Look at my name. Helvetica new fall. They really went all out on the logo, huh? Who put that together? The whole everyone's like crashing and burning. Wait, but ever. Not a single different level of kerning, huh? Just all the same no bold guys. You weren't a bull. I hate him so fucking much white and black, huh? White and black. No voice. And usually there's a picture of me. I'm dying. You're so annoying. No, that's good. I actually like it. I like it because it's understanding. It's just a giant Morgan Stewart show. Do not listen to him. That's good. That was actually the issue with Knightley pop. I felt like I didn't like the title. I can't stand you. Knightley pop was bad. Okay, wait, first of all, I have to have some direction because people are going to want to know about you guys individually. So first and foremost, I do just want to touch base on I want to you to explain to the audience how Knightley pop ended and for you specifically. And then we can move on to you guys. Because I just the way the show starts. Well, no, actually how it started, Nina and I were cast. You first, you first. No, you, because you asked me to do it. You're right. Yeah. Okay. And then we couldn't find our third for a while. Yeah, we tested with like. I was like, why is Frankie Grande in there? What's happening? Oh, yeah. We tested with like that. We tested with a lot of people. Yeah. A lot of people. I think. No, was it Kurt loader? Nina, come on. What was somebody? It was Chris. It was one of the old school like. I saw him on it. I saw him there for one of the test days. That was like a lot of different guys, but I Hunter stood out. Well, do you remember the first? Tell us what happened. So Hunter tests with us the first day. Nina and I had been testing with different people for like what two months? No, not that long. No, like a couple of weeks. Okay, guys, I have no time for you. So you show up. I got a call from my agent. My agent was like, Hey, E news is doing a show. I said, I'm okay. Thank you so much. And genuinely, she was like, no, they're offering you the pilot. So worse comes where it's just do the pilot. You'll make five grand and then you don't have to ever do it again. It was so digital. Like he was really kind of anti TV. He was like, I was. I loved. I loved that. I was on Netflix and stuff. And I loved that I had all the stuff I had going. But I also was so I felt so like immortal. A little bit when it came to like jobs, because I'd been working non-sobs since I was 18 years old. So like in my mind, TV was not. I was like, Hey, Morty was working with. He came in very like white man. I'm going to do everything. I'm killing it. And I'm like, couldn't you bow to me, lady? I kept wearing like, yeah, sorry. Like a me lady. I'll get back to that. Cause that was shattered for me at some point. And a post nightly pop. I was very cocky in the beginning. It was fun to watch. But it wasn't I wasn't again. I was like, how did the you coming? You need to know this part because me and I were like, this boy is not going to make it with that. She said, you just go do the pilot. I said, okay, one is that she's like, whatever this week or Thursday. So Wednesday night, I go on a date. Wake up. Of course. She's in the bed with me. And all of a sudden, I am like throwing up horrendously. And so I like get back in the bed. And then as soon as I see her stir a little like, oh, you awake. She probably had out. It was like 4 30 AM. I was like, I can't wait. I love that you have some bitch sleep over the night before this pilot. Like, not okay. Come on. Have a good night. I did. That was prep. That was prep. I had to relax. So she, I was unserious. I was unserious, serious XM. So she, she, she um, she left. And I call my agent. I'm like, hey, I have like, like seriously, like one of the worst food, but I can't keep it down for more than like five minutes at a time right now. Oh, man. And she's like, you have to go. Like, if you don't go, you will never work for like any affiliate of NBC again because you're a no show on a pilot day. That's like so horrific. And she wasn't wrong. Like, that is like real, you are costing them probably 50 to 100,000 dollars at a minimum. They even have that. It was, it was the audition for the pilot though, right? No, no, it was, it was like, did you get it already? It was like, hey, no, no, it was the pilot for like, hey, if the show goes, it'll go, you might not be on it. But like this, this was getting paid for us to like put something into the world for them to see. They didn't even do that for Kurt Loader. Yeah. Well, so, so then I, I'm like, fine, I'll go in. I get an Uber. I throw up twice on the way. No. And they call you guys and say Hunter has really bad food poisoning. We were pissed. Furious. And so I get there. And I'm like sitting in the chair shaking. And my body was like, I was having like a full physical like breakdown. And they were like, we're gonna get going so quick. I was like, listen, I think we can talk about it. No, no, no, no, I can't do the guy. I can't do the guy. I'll come. I think we can talk about it on the show. And I'll make a joke out of it. Like guys, I've got food poisoning. They're like, honestly, if that helps, do it. We think it could be fun. If that helps, it is funny. Idiot. Sorry. Then I go down stairs. And they're like, it'll just be like 10 minutes, four hours go by. And then like setting up, setting up to the point where I'm now on the floor. It's hard for me to breathe because like, I've dehydrated so much that my body's going into panic attack. And so at some point, I go to like the PA that's with me. I go, hey, call my mom and my mom, my mom, my mom, my mom, my mom comes and picks me up. And she takes me and I don't do the pilot and Jen, who is our EP at the time, which by the way, I know we've talked a lot of bad stuff. I don't feel like it was anyone's fault specifically. Jen said that a bunch of people we were working with. I feel like the network had its own systemic problems. I want to say that. Yes. Yes. But I will say Jen was like, don't worry. We'll shoot it next week when you're better. We're so sorry. You feel bad. And then my agent tells me that the next day I'm feeling better and my agent calls me and goes, Hey, we're going to have you back. They're going to have you back next week. You're going to test against 15 guys now. And I was like, fuck, whatever. I don't care. But I remember vividly walking down the hallway. I think you were with me. I remember seeing you on that first room to the left. If you come out, come in from outside and you were on the sofa and you were in a V-neck t-shirt. And I remember you laying there. Are you not walking with me? I don't think so. I don't think it was me. But I was probably a little harder because I was like, he needs to fucking like suck it out. I was furious publicly. But like what, I remember that moment. I remember being a little hard. Like, I think we were both like, because let's get this done. You know, okay, yeah, I'm bleeding. I'm doing this every month. Buckle up. But take some thumbs and some Advil and get so shit together. Are you okay? Yeah. When I went to the doctor, he was like, it's just food poisoning. Your vagina is not bleeding. You're being a pussy. And so I was going to go back, but you guys were done for the day. And so I did go to the hospital. They did give me a bunch of fluids. And they were like, this is pretty bad. Oh my god. It was bad. It was bad. I think we found out later how bad it was. And I think like we did have the conversation. I don't know if you ever know this. But we did call us. And was like, do you want to move forward with him? Or do you want to just scrap him? And I think we were like, I think we were like, no, like we did debate it for a second. Like is he going to show up? Is this going to be like a trend poisoning every day? Is this real? Because you know, there are people who it's like, it's not real. But I think she, she did say like, no, he's really sick. He was really sick. And then we were like, all right, like, what can you, what can you do? Like we canceled the day or did we do something to someone else? You canceled the day. And then the next week I did come back and I saw all 12 guys like lined up. It was like the Will Mar Fuji was in there. Like a bunch of people who had the guy from MTV that you mentioned. I don't know his name because he's before my, I think I was before I was born. But I hate you so much. I don't even know who he is. I need to just mention this. I never tell you. No, I come in MTV. He's a like guy, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway. So then I, we did it. We had a great time. And then they were like, hey, you got the thing. And then it was like, you know, one day we kind of became two days. We can then it became four or five days. We could have ever done it being it. We did. It was like seven days a week. How long did it turn into four days? When did it turn into four days? Like how soon into it? It took like seven years. Didn't take the second season for it to turn into four. I think it was pretty quick. It was nice. We had eight days off. Did we have a break ever? It was a lot. We was working a lot. A lot. It turned into a lot because then like award season because they had me on every award season. That was crazy. And you went for three months. It was like we would do the show every day. But then rehearsals for award seasons were on Saturdays. And then the show was Sunday. And then we'd have to be back for nightly pop at like six in the morning the next day after the award show. Like we were there were three months where like you weren't getting a day off. Tell us tell the audience the story of how, how you found out nightly pop got canceled. Well, you called me. You called me. I did not have this will make sense once you tell the story. I did not have my phone for the first time in my entire life. I had like nine missed calls from Nina and like three from Justin Sylvester. And I thought something had happened to Hunter. What was going on when the nightly pop got canceled. I'd been having back issues for a long time. And I told. There's your. That's me. I told Jen and you know everybody that I needed to tell like hey, it's honestly really hard for me to sit down and these like junk seats. You're wearing Hunter. Just. For everybody knows Hunter was wearing a brace. Like he, if he moved funny, he'd be like my back. Like there were, it was a very well-known issue of he that Hunter had really bad back issues for years. - Yeah, it made-- - How was fucking all those people? - That's how he did, really early. It was like every night-- - Yeah, that's how he faced. - Yeah, it was a lot of ass in my face. - It really was like it'd be mad at us. I feel so bad, we just keep going back. - Okay. - It's pastly past. - He's moved on. - Yeah, yeah. She is gonna realize that I wasn't a virgin before, but she listens to this. - Sorry, but weird part of it. - It's okay. - Then I was having, I was having, I tell the exacts, I'm like hey, it's really hard for me to do junkets in red carpets 'cause like I genuinely can't stand, especially in a suit where I can't wear my brace because the pants, like it was a lot of little things that were just really frustrating for me. Like I was living in pain, it wasn't comfortable. And they were like, you just don't want to do the junkets. And I was like-- - I mean, he did it. - But that really, but he really did it. - I really didn't want to do the junkets. And I was like, thank you God for the spine injury. 'Cause I did get out of it for a little while, but then they just still didn't believe me. They wanted me to do more and blah, blah, blah. And then finally, like I went into the office and I was like, hey, just so you know, on this date, which I think was maybe June or something, August. Yeah, so probably in like June, I told them, I was like, hey, in August, I'm getting my back surgery, I'm getting a disc replaced. - Oh man. - And so it's like full, you know, you go under, they-- - You were scared, I was scared. - I was scared again, a little mortal where I was like, I don't think I was as scared as I needed to be. I wasn't as scared as I should have been. - He was shaken. - What do you mean? - You were scared, baby. - I just kind of disassociated. - Yes, you were nervous. - He was like, oh, not a big deal. - I think we shot like two days before something, like we were nervous. - We did, we shot like, probably the day before. - The day before, yeah. And so they going through the front, they move your organs to the side. They scrape out the disc and then they put a fake disc in. So it is a serious like surgery. - What do you mean go in through the front? I didn't know that. - I have like a minor C session surgery. - You want to see it? - Yeah. - Yeah, it needed us, I guess I'll watch. - So I only need to lift up the bottom, but I'll lift up a little more. - Wow. - They went through the front. - Wow. - This is a significant scar. - It's a significant scar. So then, but also the abs. - I'll be right back. - But also the abs. - No, the abs. - I just don't want to, you guys got that? (laughing) So I go to surgery and on the morning of the surgery, again, my mom dropped me off. How apropos. - Oh my God, this is just, we love ourself. - This is such a nice lady. - He's such a little mama's boy. It's the cutest thing ever. - Yeah, and so I get dropped off and I'm getting, like now I'm getting nervous because like, you go into the hospital bed. You're not wearing anything but the gown. And you know you're about to be put under and it's cold. And I'm the only person there because it's 4 a.m. - It's cold. - It was so cold. Like it's also, you're cold because you're scared, you're cold, because everything's-- - It's also like two years post pandemic. So it's still very like kind of COVID, or they're like not letting as many people in and like it's still, you know, in that like beginning stage as you were people were just getting vaccinated. So it was still kind of like a weird time where they weren't allowing guests and things like that. - Yeah. - And then we went through the pandemic together also, which is every week, okay. - But it was Beverly Hills. - I kept looking at the window like Morgan. (laughing) - I was like, maybe I'll see her, that'll be nice. And then I, they start like putting, you know, the vein, they have to put a soft needle into your vein that follows your vein. - We don't need the whole surgery, just tell us. - Wait, why is soft needle? Not to backtrack, sorry. - This is like, oh god, he's so much sympathy. - We okay, we get it. - So what does that mean following? - The only reason I bring that up is because I asked the nurse if I was like the biggest, strongest boy she's ever seen. And she said, no, you're kind of like you're honestly, this is hurting you more than it hurts most people. I said I have small veins. And so when I, I go to the surgery, this is all part of it. Like I really was flirting with the nurse. - Was she cute? - She was cute. - Oh my God. - I was pretty high. - You're like, you're like, you're like, you're getting a surgery. - She was a working woman. She had somewhat of a mental illness, I agree. - She was on the prowl back then. - All the time. - All the time. - I was nervous, it was my comfort. Anyway, so I wake up from the surgery and I am like, laying in bed. You know, you're really groggy, don't know what's going on. And I get, one of the first things I remember is getting a call from my agent, Natasha. And she was like, hey, are you sitting down? I was like, I can't stand up. - I'm laying down. - I'm laying down. I can't do any, I can't move. And she goes, okay, you're not gonna believe this, but they canceled Nightly Pop this morning. With a full embargoed article, and for people that don't know what that means, means that they had been, they had known about it for most likely a week or weeks. They had done all these really classy interviews that were like, unfortunately, because of X, Y, and Z. This is why it has to happen. - I've been known as to us. - So we're just working and living, and they had already done an article about us on Deadline that we didn't know was pre-written. And so I, just for Hunter's part on our end, we got a call to get on like a group, whatever, like whatever the calls were, where everybody used to be. - We're Jen made everyone get on this. - Yeah, they came to us. - They came at like 910. It was 910, I remember this. And it was like 910, they wanted everybody to get on this call. And then they told, by the time they told us there were all these technical issues, by the time they told us it was like 918. And the article was up at 920. - Oh, shut the fuck up. - So we had a 10 minute heads up that our show was getting canceled before the world knew. And we found out on this call, and they were basically like, yeah, like it's, you know, like it was very short and dismissive. And they were like, anybody got any questions? And you're kind of like, you're in shock. So no, you don't have questions. You're just kind of like, what? And they're like, yeah, well, you'll finish through. I think you'll tape to October. And the last thing you want when a network lets you go, you want to go, you want to leave, go. - 100% - You want to keep going in there until like the morgue for, you know, a couple of months, because it's, it's, you did me a walkie. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) - I don't really know why they canceled the show. I mean, the show was doing well for E. - Yeah, I was doing, it was doing like well enough for it's time so I was late night, you know? - Yeah, and also, weren't we like always improving? Like, wasn't there a time where we were like doing well? - There was a momentum for it for sure, but I think like, ultimately, I really believe what the person told me about, like, they wanted to change direction. - The whole network was in a place of like fear. Everyone, from the top, all the way down. And when you act in a place of fear, as opposed to a place of abundance, like, in a place of like, oh my goodness. - We were the same, oh my goodness. - I thought Oprah was talking about it. - I was like, "Hey, I'm here, I'm here, I'm here, I'm here." - Let's put that, let's put that, that's going up. - That's a good question. - Who's Abraham Hicks? - Back to abundance, not operating from abundance. - Oh, yeah, so anyway, but when I had the momentum, I'll go back to the surgery because I woke up, I got the call, and I was like, so high that I literally she told me and I went, really? (laughing) 'Cause I had not only, they do nerve blockers, so you can't feel any part of your body, and then, like in your mid-range, and then you're also on a lot of like, whatever, the drug, like I'm on out of hand and all this stuff to calm you down. - It was messed up. - Yeah, this was messed up, and so then, I'm like, she's like, "Are you okay?" And I was like, "Yeah." Like that's fine. - I can't feel anything. - We did it for 600 episodes or something. - Did we do it for 600 episodes? - Yeah, maybe, right. - Yeah, I was like, 650 or something like that. - Yeah. - Yeah, so then, I am in that moment and Natasha, my agent goes, "Whatever you do, don't post anything while you're high," because I don't want you to post something you regret, and I was like, "Bitch, you don't gotta worry about nothing." (laughing) And so then I hung up with her, and I said, "You know what I should do?" - Wait, hold on. Wasn't Natasha your agent at this time too? - She was, I think, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Okay, okay, keep going. I was like, "You know what, I would be good if I did a story." And so I posted, I got on Instagram and I went, "Hey guys, just wanna let you know." - I think they could we play it? - Oh yeah, we could probably play it. - Oh my God, Kim, I don't even know if we got like that. - Oh, do you have sound? No. Oh, probably don't say it. - We'll get that. - We don't hear it in here. - When I tell people this industry will break your heart multiple times, this was one of the times that they broke my heart, the way that they did us. And I was really upset. So when Hunter did that, it felt like we had this thing, this bond that, at least we had something where we could, there was other people understood what this feeling felt like because also, we couldn't talk about it, you get disrespected and then you get punished if you talk about it. So it's this really weird headspace that you're in that makes you very angry. And I get why people sometimes leave this industry because you get raked over the coils and you've really got to like find that part in you to fight back in the way that you can. And Hunter did that for us. - You really, I was gonna say it was so meant to be that you were high out of your fucking mind to post that story. My favorite part of what just occurred is, this is the first time we've needed a live video to play and it didn't work out. And Hunter turned around to the crew five times, just now because he's like, are we gonna get that clip? That's exactly how he was. - He was like, he was like, he was like, he's his baby. - Hello, our baby boy grew up. - He was like, what's going on with him again? - Can I figure this out for us? The tower turned so round this place? Oh, this is a CEO baby. - They can't and that's fine. And the whole reason the audience is not playing is because we want you guys to feel what it was like being on Nightly Park. Things didn't really work and that's okay. That's our point. This is what we're trying to say is that we're learning. This is a startup. What a serious accent. - Can I tell you something, they're struggling and I just also wanna say in this moment, I've done. - Please don't take him seriously. - I've just so, it is such a privilege and a pleasure to do this podcast with you guys genuinely because when you talk to fucking pros, they know, besides the fact that we're friends and we like each other, I have had to sit here for an hour with people and I'm like, I'm gonna fucking kill myself. - I'm gonna fucking kill myself. - I'm blessing in a curse when you're a pro and like now when I go into shows and stuff and I'm like, they're like, listen this and I'm like, let's keep this, let's do that. Let's move on. We can get this. You need a tight bite, you need this like it is something and that's why I say like people come and they go and people deserve whatever platform they've been put on. But there are some day to say for people who are skilled at doing their job. It's gonna save everybody's time. - I didn't really fucking- - You don't know why the- way. I think this crew is great. I don't, this is actually, I'm looking at a monitor that's not connected to the rest of the series. So I would have actually been very impressed at audio come through. What did you say? Why don't you tell us? 'Cause I know you remember. I'm doing the voice though. Yes. I'll do it in the voice. You know, this surgery. I refreshed the page. Refresh the page. Okay, here we go. Never miss the pose. surgery was really tough, but one thing that kept me going was the idea that I'm getting better so that I can, you know, get back to my job and make people laugh on nightly pop because that, that really means the world to me. Nevermind, just spend on nightly pop was canceled. I got my life from that. I got my fucking life. I don't remember it being that good. Somebody painted that. So deadline posted the embargo article and then the next thing deadline posted about nightly pop was post hunter march finds out about surgery. Finds out about cancellation during surgery. They were pissed. And it was so funny. And they can't say anything because like I was just having a good time. Yeah, but then right after I posted that and I thought it was the funniest. I was like, I fucking nailed that bit. You did. And then right afterwards I started crying and the nurse walked in and I was like, I'm not a big boy. The hot nurse. The hot nurse walked in. And I genuinely was like for some reason I think everything hit me at once because I was in, you have to lay down for hours after you don't surgery, but you have to walk out of the hospital. You have to walk. Yeah, you have to walk out for my surgery. And so, yeah, and so, but she came in. She was like, are you okay? And I was like, I think so. And then I left. And again, I was still feeling so immortal. But again, I leave surgery. I'm now stuck in bed for like a month. You guys are doing the show without me, which I'm like so weird. But I'm so supportive. I'm like, I'm, you know, again, I don't really care about that. What I, I'm bummed that I can't be a part of it. And then finally I am good. We have like another month together. We were miserable by that, by the way. Like more than I. We were like, okay, like it's like going through a breakup and so having a live with somebody. And it's, it was like a really, you know, for going through what we went through to film for two months, we had this like really beautiful last show. Yes. And then what happened? The exact comes in. One of the exacts comes in who knew who she, I wouldn't say it was her decision to cancel the show because that came from higher up. But she knew what was going on and held it from us. And you know, we blamed her. Like we were just kind of like, we felt like it was a dirty move. But like there was so many poor decisions. And again, it's like, you can't really blame anybody. Everyone's got their own thing going on. They've got reasons for what they're doing that are sometimes completely out of their control. So again, I don't even blame her or the person above her or the person above her. It's like, it is what it is. I think sometimes things are inevitable. But the way you handle yourself in those situations is what is fixable and what is like, like again, my surgery is so absurd. It's like a fucking novel. Like it's a comedic novel of absurdity that the show would be canceled. And I wake up to find out that it's almost funny to me. But it is like, it's, it is unfortunate that it was handled that way for other reasons. Like the fact that I couldn't be on the next month of shows. I was just no care involved because it really wouldn't have cost them a penny. If we were still going to film to October, they didn't need to announce it in August knowing what hunter was going through. But that's what I say about the level of respect and care that you give to people when you value your talent and when you don't. And being on other networks and being treated differently, when I moved over to Warner Brothers and I was doing a show, my recent show that I'm doing with TBS, the level of respect and care that I got. I felt like I was leaving an abusive relationship and going into one where people love, like a loving partner. You know, where they're like, we have these award shows. We just want you to come and be a guest like on us. Like, well, you and a friend will send a car for you. We'll pay for my hair makeup just to be a guest. Hair and makeup. Right. But it was just like, oh, like this is what it's like to, it's not even extra for them. This is how they treat their talent. And at E, it just felt like they wanted us to be grateful that we were on camera. And you know, the fact that Hunter was in this really serious surgery that everybody knew about and they just didn't care. Really spoke volumes about like that was really just like how we were treated overall. And it really was hurtful because we loved the show and we loved each other. And we were really trying to make it work. And if it goes away, cool. But like, you're in a really serious surgery that could have went in kind of way. And they didn't even wait till you got out hypothetically, I mean, obviously, thank God, everything worked out. But like, just that point that I hadn't even thought about that if the surgery, God forbid had not gone perfectly, what the fuck would they have done? Right. One of the biggest side effects of the surgery that I was getting, 100% I'm not kidding, is that I wouldn't have been able to come out of my penis. I swear to God, there's a, there's a, I don't know why though. Yeah. Okay. There's a, there's a nerve. Got it. No, no, I'm not asking why. Okay. Because that is worse than that when you said he is unserious. This is, this is unserious, man. I'm getting notes. Sorry. We should wrap up the drugs. We need plus. By the way, you, I, first of all, if you want plugs, but I do have to, people are going to, people I did get like five questions because I put it on my Instagram story. Quick. Like where Nina will start with you. Where are, since nightly pop, what have you been doing? What are you working on? What, what makes you happy? Yeah. So I was working on Nina Parker collection since 2019. Yes. And so that was in Macy's up until like, thank you. It was so good. Until the fall of last year and then the tariffs kind of, it didn't kill it, but it put it on pause because this is a whole thing I won't get into, but basically working with a, a retailer, they do advanced buys. But you have to, and they, they do the advanced buys, but they didn't want to, the retailer didn't want to do advanced buys anymore with the tariff costs. Yeah. Because as you know, with fashion, everything is a year out. So they, it's just, you basically have to front it yourself. And if I was to front it myself, it would have been a couple million dollars. No, no, no. So it's on pole. No, no, no. And no, this administration change is a thing. The tariff's on. That makes me just like Trump. The fact that Nina Parker collection is out. So it's, you know, it's, it, that was a challenge, you know, with the climate, but also I, I got another show on TBS, Call Friday night vibes with, thank you. With my good friend, Kevon Stage, who's a comedian. He's lovely. Yeah, he's genuinely lovely. No, genuinely one of the, him and his wife are like, oh, genuinely the nicest people I've ever been. Like it makes me want to be a better person, because they're just wholesome. Yeah. I don't have people who are just wholesome. And you're like, shit, like, it's not a, it's not a, it's a pretty more. Absolutely you. I have to pray more of that. And then I'm also doing like, I really started doing a lot more like live speaking and public speaking. And then I started monetizing my Instagram. So I use that for brand deals. And so it's kind of like a little trifecta as, you know, I started my own production company. So you've done like 50 things. Okay. Got it. Got it. So yeah, I'm pitching stuff. And you know, shows it's, it's harder to make them, but it's as Hunter knows, like just kind of taking the reins and doing it yourself and saying, fuck it. I'm not going to wait for it. Yes. Has been really empowering. So it's, it's, you know, it's great. My hair's natural now. I love it. I'm free. I like shook out all the demons and, you know, I want to say like, sometimes like would really breed toxicity, like competition toxicity kind of pit us and other talent against each other. And it was like, we were really in this Petri dish of like, you know, pressure. And I think being free from that really allowed us all to grow in a beautiful way and really like kind of shake off the that stuff. And I want to say, I feel like I have really good relationships. Even if we don't talk all the time with a lot of people who kind of were in the trenches. And you know, we really had something special. So it was, it was really dope to be a part of that. The craziest thing that I forgot to almost tell you guys, I get a call yesterday. And you probably talked to her and then we'll get into your bloodstream. You're back on E. No, but I was going to say, would we all do a show together again? Like that? Oh, okay. No, don't, don't rush. I would do something with you guys. I actually would do something. I would do something with that three. I just had a flashback of E. Yeah, yeah, but I would do something with you guys like once a week. Okay, okay. Not for every day. Well, what's the week sure? I think we could get into that. I get out of the shower yesterday. And I have Annie Roberts call. Oh, who is the former head of casting at E news? And for all of you who don't know, and you don't know because you didn't work there. If you got a call from Annie, yeah, you answer, you answer, but it was highly stressful. Do we remember that? It was like, you were like, what the fuck? Because she wasn't law, but she was a spokesperson for the network. Yeah, she was always calling about something you did. You fucked up. I got a lot of this. Yes. I love her. But it was of all the, I actually really do. No, I think it's great. She's giving me two jobs since then. But the point is is like out of, so the day before yesterday, I was on the phone with my agents. I like reworking my agents a bit. And I was like, these are my goals. This is what I want to happen with this podcast. Maybe something Netflix, blah, blah, blah, blah. The next day I had not had the best manifesto right now had not spoken to Annie. She called me and I said, you're not going to believe who I'm sitting down with tomorrow. And she's like, I can't believe it, but it was just funny because it's just the energy. She wants to do it. Absolutely not. She won't you know what she wants me to do? Do you know who Harry Johnson? Yeah, of course. Yeah, called Mary Harry and they need a host for their reunion. I am quote, not their first choice. They're meeting a lot of people. She's no, no, I want to quote her. I said, Annie, am I your first choice? No, there are a lot of other blondes in the running. And she said, your mind, they don't really know you yet. And so I have a meeting with them. But should I do that? I don't know if I could do that. Yeah, do a reunion shows are fun. Okay. I mean, I almost lost my life a few times doing it. But you're only good at prompter. And I'm going to be like, you know, when you're really not using a prompter and it's only the intros and outros and everything else is going to be like, it's really, it's everything else. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so I probably shouldn't go further, but yeah, to Annie though like it's it's one thing to tell you know It's to talk about I filmed a pilot with Netflix that I didn't end up getting but like you know, and Annie was a part of like pushing my name So it's like what building those relationships is you know, it may not always get you the job But it definitely gets you in the room. Well after this podcast. I don't think any of us are ever gonna work again No, I love YouTube hunter. What are you doing since nightly, but well, what have you continued to do since you always worked? Well, I wasn't I will say like when nightly pop ended right away. I was like this is Amazing finally. I'm like free to work on other things. I had not not worked since I was 18 years old in media like I had had a show 100% of the time it was awesomeness TV and then it was Netflix and gameshow work and then e came and I and again No break not a single day was I not working. So I was like this is gonna be awesome. I can't wait then I went through a break up And I realized oh, there's a writer strike. Oh, and there's no no one's no one's working like I've got to like live off my money I got a save for a little while. I got one Netflix job and that was a season that was great It gave me a little thing but like genuinely that was so sad and I had to like pull myself out of like a real funk And I had a trainer that had reached out to me during nightly pop gets him and his wife love nightly pop when I had my back surgery Oh my god. He was like I'd love to help you for free and I was like I'm straight don't have to hit on me I didn't really had a wife. I thought he was flirting with me So I didn't respond to the DM and then his wife reached out and was like my husband Chris love We love you on nightly pop can we help and he started training me posts and like post surgery like your body's really wrecked Yeah, and he not like I told him when he was like hey, man I can't work out like I just feel too bad he goes your body hurts and I go no man It's like my heart like my brain. Oh my god. This is emotional No, I'm being serious and then he sent me like the nicest most sweetest text message I've ever received in my life like completely Shifting my I'm getting a little choked up. Okay, totally because I think like forever I'd been so happy that it was really hard for me to Must be nice to never have any struggles in your life. You got to try it But he sent me this beautiful text and he just held me through such a hard time and Then I really focused on myself like on the growth that I needed to do Wow, I did not know this in the midst of mature of him in the midst of the growth I started a company with my best friend called poppy studios and I met my fiance and we started dating and then quickly She became my fiance like I said six months ago and The company that I run out like I'd put everything into the company like I hadn't taken any money out me in my business partner We just kept building building building we still don't really take money out But that's only because I got a Netflix show a best guest live which is like I don't know a godsend. It's like for me money-wise it covers everything and then some and I can focus on like everything I love doing I love that and so poppies we now have like 20 employees and we do like the boss Yeah me and me and David Alvarez who's like my best friend my business partner I married him and his wife who do mine and you've seen hunters the you've seen poppy studios on you if you go on YouTube You've seen videos from poppy studios. Yeah, we do very viral. Yeah, we do like a hundred million We do like a hundred million views per month on average No, I see them just on TikTok and I'm like this is hunter this and he's not really front-facing So you would it like sometimes you hunter pops in but like there are people who I've learned about like that singing comedian like We've learned I've learned through hunter's shows like it's that's very well. Well, why don't we do something? Why haven't you done something with us? It's all a dating specific so we did it. We can take it. It's very It's very I would love to come on and be like a judge. Great. Let's set that up immediately. I will say to end I mean, I think for me nightly pop I was I had all those kids. I had all that shit around me And I was like maybe a bit relieved that it was ending, but then months later. I was like Oh, this is brutal. Yeah, it syncs in and I like I think for initially because we were working so much We were a little relieved because we were A lot tired and I think like then the holidays came because we stopped filming in October I went away from my birthday and then the holidays came so I think for me also it was like that January I was like, damn, this is like weird. Oh, man. Like I'm not I'm not going up there every day And I'm not seeing these people and like when you see people every day you really take for granted like And then you realize it's been months and it was it was I I went through a depression It was definitely a transition, but here where we come back together And it's just the same but wait. I mean, I know this is your show But like you gotta say what you've been up to whatever I've been up to my god loss and lots of things I am doing my clothing line. Yes, it's going very well. I'm really happy with that I've been doing this because I couldn't get a TV job as you guys know Which I'm so happy about because I will say it. I've said that before But I shot a pilot they were like yeah, no sweetie And then they tell you oh like shows aren't just not the time. Yeah, it's not that we love you We love you but to be honest with you I was I was I had such hormonal imbalance post those kids first I mean, I thank god nightly pop ended because I didn't even realize how bad I had felt until months later and years later And everything that went down with my dad and everything because he was sick towards the end remember But it wasn't like at a point where it was like crazy You were very close to you were very close and so I just needed that time And now I just feel like this is sort of the resurgence since nightly pop like doing this And I did rich kids. I did e for five and a half years People stopped me about this pot. I'm not even I'm like. How do you even know about this podcast like podcasts are crazy? Yeah, so I mean, it's like five people listening, but still I run into those five people And they all go to the same area. I don't even go to air one. My assistant does so I'm gosh Anyway, I'm so happy you guys came on. I loved this time together.
