Welcome back to the show. Everybody out at home and in the Internet and in the World Wide Web. I am Erica Alexander and I am Coco Jones and this is the read. Thank you for joining us. Damn right it is and thank you indeed. Welcome back for another year of NIG, wrapping up May here in God's 2026. Let's get things started with some black excellence shall we already know how it goes here and I am going to be passing over back excellence today to one doctor, Candice, Matthews and Quanilex were both spotted confronting an attorney named Michael Phillips after he reportedly used the nigger slur and a child custody case in the courtroom. Old white man you know looks battered and bruised and half dead obviously and the nerve and this black man and woman stopped and confronted this man directly in the hall and basically dared not basically literally dare him to say the word again into their black adult faces that man said I bet you won't say I do you say it right now I will make you taste the ancestors oh wow I said wow I'm not mad at that adding that once would be the role of Jacks of fun black things to say yeah so shout out to the black folk out here still foot to the pavement doing the best we can for rights because you know rip America yeah it's incredibly played out the United States of America is a phone positive at this point like why do we who was that even a thing it should be done we should have put that lesson in the past I just feel like you know the American Dynasty just might be running to it to its end yeah and it seems like this is an empire that it's finally come play but in the good in the positive sense we have black excellence no no we have hot tops to keep us afloat nothing like some positivity there Lizzo was spotted putting up her own posters for her latest out which I think goes that on June 5th posted on her Instagram since my label won't promote that my put up posters for my album onto it myself so she was just spotted in LA putting up her own album posters I mean okay Cardi was selling bootlegs or something she was doing something remember she came to New York she was selling shit on the sidewalk promoting that album and shit so yeah I mean I'm not if she's not getting label support that's that's one thing I don't know what the label is pouring into the marketing efforts for her album but as far as artists like actually getting out there and doing some of that promo stuff themselves I mean that you doing it probably brings more attention to the album than if the street team had did it so exactly I'm not really yeah I'm fortunate that has to be like oh let me go and take this into my own hands since my fucking work and label that right but I agree that it is it's actually really endearing and yeah I think you would get more eyes and ears on your project anyway yeah so if you have to go and brave the he actually something I don't hear right now must be nice okay so Durand was on a podcast or he mentioned being blocked by tank at some point and tank apparently heard about this and decided to respond to him on Twitter by saying I don't know you did dislike you what I do know is that you're incredibly talented what you don't know is that I support to defend you but we'll save that for later if I did block you because you were talking shit at least be honest not long after that that I saw Durand post a photo of them both of them on FaceTime laughing together okay talk about music possibly being on the way something about tanks comment gave me P.O.A. okay it gave you what go ahead P.O.N.K. okay I thought you said P.L.N.K. and I was like what the fuck is that for oh right okay I guess I was about to say why would I thought this was about to start like I thought you was finished saying and then the rare responded and now the girls are going at it but I'm glad to see they like you know all each other right and and took care of it that way the the more mature way but huh interesting I actually would like to hear a collaboration between the two of them so I'm not mad if that's where this is going but I mean maybe two things can be true I don't I don't know obviously whether tank you know really does defend Durand in private or whatever but it's possible that Durand said something shady or liked something shady about tank so he got blocked for that or you know something else like who knows the Internet can be a messy weird place um you know most of this the stuff this week has been at least from my perspective very light I haven't found very much to that I'm interested in talking about because everything has been about Drake's albums everything is Drake and I have to be perfectly honest with you no opinion when I tell you I don't have a thought because I have not listened to any of it oh wow okay I have not heard Drake's albums but I have heard the clips better yeah so here's the thing it's not even on their like hate train whatever I have an attention disorder you're not gonna drop three albums and me and then I'm like oh yeah I need dive in if missy Elliott dropped the albums today I would break them up in three days yeah I cannot do it right that's one two we've already discussed not being super enthused about his albums because we haven't been moved or shook by anything since scorpion right and even that was barely there for me so now and I see he's dropped 78 songs and many of his own fans like well I like for I'm not gonna be in a rush to go listen to it yeah and a lot of the coverage of you know the messiest stickiest lines have also made me go I don't know how have you listened to any of it do you have it I have um I God unfortunately I did press play I started with maid of honor and he heard that's the best one yeah and that's a damn shame because I it I do think it's the best one now I would but when I tell you I'm also the type where if the sound of the song is getting on my nerves I will not finish it I will skip right through it so yeah so I can't even say that I actually listened to all three projects in full because overall I felt like Drake is just trying to get out of his contract like there are some good songs there are some you know if I hear them this summer like um make them cries good um I like the uh the pop can song or pop con if I'm saying that wrong um it's good either way you know there's there's some here where it's like the the the Michael Jackson the one that's obviously Michael Jackson inspired it's like Drake yeah there's there's some where I'm like yes if I hear this in at the bar or the club this summer yes I will listen to this or I'll pop to it but overall it just felt like Drake
put in a bunch of shit together so that he can hurry up and try to fulfill this contract with UMG and be done with them. And that's pretty much what I expected of him. He's been suing him and going back and forth and alleging all this shit about them over the past couple of years. So yeah, I wouldn't say it's great. Some of it is passable, but overall, he could have kept it. Like I wouldn't say that musically this was really doing anything. And I read today that there were reports that it's quote unquote, "complicated," whether or not these three albums would even go towards-- Oh, good. --what he's looking for for his contract. I don't know if that's true or not, but with the mess of everything, there are reports right now that this might not even work towards what I think he's trying to do if the idea that you just mentioned is true, which many, many, many people have suggested, and it makes sense. I mean, that would be a damn shame that you put out two shit albums, one that's kind of OK. All at the same fucking time, mind you. Like, this is legit, like 70-something tracks or whatever. Like, you put all this bullshit out at the same time, and it didn't even accomplish the goal. Like, that would be a fucking shame if that's where we ended up here. But you know, for me, I just don't think-- I don't think Drake has ever gone, go back to what got him to this level of popularity. I don't think he's ever going to go back to that sound. Or, you know, this is an overgrown, man-child who really needs to get his shit together and grow the fuck up. And I don't think that's going to happen. So I pressed play because I knew it would come up on this show. But I did not enjoy myself. No, I did not. I will not be doing that again. Same reason I tried to watch the-- Same reason I tried to watch the roast of Kevin Hart. God. Another thing we would have never talked-- Girl, don't suggest subject yourself to some of these things if you don't want to. It is OK to just come up here and be like, I took no part in it because I did it want to. Well, I saw the clip of Cat Williams. And everybody said this was the best part of the roast. And it was pretty funny. Cat Williams dragging that nigga. Because Cat Williams actually seemed like, you know, like he met the things he was saying first of all. And secondly, when Kevin was like, you know, first of all, I hate that Netflix gave Kevin a mic, because this is not supposed to be a back and forth. Like, you not-- You got a mic the whole time? Yes, he got to chime in after everybody's roasts. Well, I hate it was so annoying. So I hated that Kevin even had a mic. But I also felt like that moment at the end where he and Cat, where he was like, you know, it's been a lot of strife with this man over the years. But you know, Cat's a legend. It's all love, you know, that nigga, whatever. I felt like that was very much like he just went along with it. But he's like, nigga, we are not cool, and you know that. So I went back, tried to watch it. Shane Gillis was the host. I said, I am not going to-- Yeah, that kept me from it that way. I'm going to last long. Yeah, and I didn't-- You know who told me about that, Cat Williams part? My fucking therapist. Wow. Worked therapist. And it was specifically because of that part that you just mentioned. Oh, OK. Like there was moments towards the end where Kevin tried to like make a man's, and so on. And Cat Williams was very clearly not interested in being friends. Yeah. For the sake of the time and the moment in the direction was like, all right, nigga, that was like, hmm. How Williams was there? Yeah. Maybe I'll take a peek at that. And I was like, I'll just watch the Cat Williams part in the Regina Hall part, because I know she's going to make me laugh. And I want to hear what Cat Williams has to say about that. And that's really all you need. I'm no shade. I mean, I like Chelsea Handler. But other than that, you really-- you do not need to sit through three hours of-- Three. Yes. You do not need to sit through that. You do not-- Plus one. [LAUGHTER] That's the same number. Yes. Yes. You do not need to sit through two hours and 51 minutes of that. You do not. I said, damn, this is actually-- OK. This is bad. Woo. See, this is what I'm talking about. I'm so glad I didn't watch this, because why would I do that? Yeah, no. They gave this nigga a microphone. Yeah, yeah. What kind of roast is that? Every roast I've seen in my 40, 38 years, being here, has been the exact same thing. You sit down, they roast you. You have to take. Yes. And then the last person who speaks is usually them. Right. No, Kevin, it has the only time-- I'm not saying-- I'm not saying, oh, my god, this is so annoying. Oh, that sounds insufferable. That sounds absolutely right to you. I'm so glad I watched it. Exactly that. It was. But I saw a clip of Regina saying something about Michael Clark Duncan being-- something about Green Mile and her pussy. Like, I don't remember how that joke went, but she said something about him having his Green Mile deep in this pussy for something something. I just just saw a clip of that. And that's how I knew she was on it. And that's when I went, OK, I will go watch this, because Regina Hall doesn't even have to try to be funny. You don't remember that time during the flooding out here where Kevin Costner won an Emmy. And she was reading from the-- I think it was that-- Oh, yes, I do remember this, yes. The teleprompter. And she was just making joke the whole time. And she was reading that he was-- she got to stay in place because of the flooding. She-- her face was like, he has to shelter in-- oh, it's Santa Barbara. Girl, I guess she's so funny. That was so funny. That was hilarious. Yeah, yeah. So she doesn't have to try. I will check that out though. I'm just like, you know what, in this crisis of my mid-bye, every second feels precious. Yeah, there's things I could do with my time. And you should. There's a white man making a George Floyd joke. That's not even remotely funny. OK, yeah. I cut it off before I even got to that man. No, I went back and tried to watch the whole thing, thinking maybe there was something for this way too many white people there. I said, this is not even real. This is just whoever Netflix could get to show up and, you know, fit the budget or whatever. Like a real roast of Kevin Hart would have had way more niggas present. So yeah. I will go check that out, maybe follow up with my opinion on that. I suppose I will listen to these dragons. I mean, I intended to. I'm not going to hold you. I wanted to like, to hear them anyway. I fully intended on pressing play. And then they were like, surprise. It's a trilogy. And I was like, girl, I'll give you a go watch more of a combat, too. I don't don't rush me. Right. Three albums is a lot. That's what I'm saying. As soon as I was like, I'm annoyed by this. I was like, connect. Yeah. We're going right to like, I didn't give it the attention. I would give it if I was like reviewing the music, you know, is not like, no, we already know Beyonce put out three albums. Yes, I'm shutting everything down. I'm canceling all my appointments and I'm diving in. Yes, but that is a Beyonce exclusive. Like nobody else gets that treatment, like nobody. If she drops three albums, I would die listening to them all in one day. I promise you I'm not I am. I won't I just add best. I will listen to one of them come back hours later. I can't my attention span will not allow me to just sit there and listen to three hours of music. I can't. I'll talk about the fact that I get too distracted while I'm listening to music. I often get very distracted as I'm listening to music anyway. Because I'll play music as I'm washing dishes or doing something, something. The next thing you know, I'm like, I didn't really listen to this. So that I have to go back. My attention to span just does not work with this. That's Beyonce. I would make that work. Missy Elliott, I will make that work, Ray. I will make that work. Some are a joy. Drake, when the outlets are already like, listen, I'm not doing it. All right, I'm going to just be incredibly honest. The outlets don't love it. Like there's a quite a few in the cult that, you know, leaving emojis. She's under Rihanna's pictures and all kinds of. Wow. Oh, yeah. The stuff about Asap Rocky and your girl didn't even post shows, album or whatever, like, what? Who the fuck care? She don't want you, bro. She damped on stage. When you profess, right in your face, you're pissed. You're filming. You're deceiving, seething. You can't talk about nobody's, maybe mama, bro. You can't talk about keeping very cute when you come to baby mama.
I was just about to say that I'd like to got three kids with her man that she just went to the Met Gala with whatever the fuck you want to say right? You can't do it. You got bullied To premiering your baby with this bitch. You right right so You said I was there. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's like all the little branches that have come my waist inside post poems This listening session have made me push you back even further because I'm like This is the kind of crying and whining he got coming all year. Mm-hmm. I saw a reviewer say that a Lot of it is just him reacting to The past two years yep and critique of his music and personality For like the bulk of all of this music is just him kind of being Not just frustrated, but like scorned Whatever I'm like, we've already discussed that and I'm glad that we've acknowledged this prior to the Kendrick thing Because a lot of the outlets are like oh we jump trying to act like we're jumping on some bandwagon It's like no, this has been Criticism of his music long before that happened very true very true This is just you know the biggest that it got but it is a lot of I mean don't get me wrong It's still classic Drake. I'm rich. I got money. I got all these cards. I got all these houses all these There's plenty of that, but there's also like damn so many people love me so many people hate me It's crazy to be me Like okay, simmer down Like it don't say something that you got to address 65 Niggas over this fucking three albums that you're like oh you let me down so bad Yeah, but I think you're right. It's Drake. He's gonna have a bopper - I'm gonna do the exact same thing where I'll just I'll get it probably 30 to 45 seconds All right, what else you got? I can't listen to all there. Yeah, and you know if it's good if a song is good You will hear it anyway like with all right with Almost said no keyo with no keyo when I remember I mean and I I remember chariot being like it's the one good song on that album and And it is it's the one that I ended up here and I who's calling my phone? Who's calling that shit like that? It's catchy me - I like that, but I never I couldn't tell you any other songs on that record I don't think because they just they're not gonna make it that far Which ever one came out a couple years ago Is that the one with you? I think so yeah Drake no keyo That is on some sexy songs for you I was just last year. Yeah, that song's so sexy Okay, oh, yeah, yeah, no fuck. Yeah I yeah, I'll give it a a gander. I already know that I'm skipping over this Allegedly sexy raids on Yeah, go on and let that I mean It's it's every time I see that I just like when I see you step I say red. I believe you see too bad bitches like It's just automatically what I think of when I see Drake and sexy rare like damn Kendrick really clock the fuck out of you bro You see too bad god. That was so funny. God that was so funny That was so much fun that entire What's fun? All right, Aubrey, I will let you know what I think about your throat. They've sent cosplay next week. Yeah Alex Brue Brue Hattie. What is this music? Trump's advisor one of the Donald Trump's advisors Addressed or attempted to dress the iconic Linda Perry of foreign on blinds Who's one of the latest people to Addressed Nicki Minaj's Donald Trump support when asked and she like many of us said it seems like she said It seems that she wanted something from the office and it was trying to maybe help herself a friend or a friend whatever Everyone is at this. So Mr. Alex of maga said this is a disgusting and disgraceful smear that every Democrat and Trump critic is spreading about at Nicki Minaj Nicki has never once asked the president for anything. She has only offered Assistance and support the insiduation that she's looking for anything in return is total garbage, but That's worse Thank you. That's exactly what I was going to say Worst if true dummy So you don't it for the love of the of the hate yikes My girl first of all you and everybody you know over there's a lie All y'all do is lie first of all first of all if you said the make rib was back. I would know I'm gonna go live just lie about everything. So Excuse me. Yeah, if I don't believe this, but that was the first thing that came out of my mind, dude If this is true, that's way worse. That's way worse. You're not getting nothing for this You tap dancing and calling it for this nigga who's rounding up immigrants right fucking now for the love of the game No, I do hope they're paying off your lawsuits and your mortgage Your your amics that that man takes and does whatever he wants to with while you passed out allegedly Whatever Cardi said like I hope you getting something out of it. It would be a damn shame if you're not Maybe becoming a citizen, right you can do that without kissing Trump's ass. You can she know that what she should There's no way that this lady walked out at Kerkel, mania, but all the umpire of techniques and shit like that. It was just like I'll just take the nature valley runola bar back here. You don't have to worry about anything else this girl beat it Mania is the craziest shit. I have Yeah, I just that was off the jump. Yeah, um, yeah lady Whatever happened to March 30th or whatever When right when was it right after Cardi's album came out or right after like it was right after she announced yes Or the tour or something niggie was like much 16th barbs or whatever and then immediately walked a back like I'm not giving y'all nothing cuz you don't deserve it It's left them bone dry starving. Yep. Yep. Yep. And that's where they go remain Well, you know, I think you already hit the nail on the head there for me It's like you've a better off just not saying it because a we don't believe you right be this is not PR It's not you think it is She believes in Donald Trump and his policies and when Donald Trump laughs at the cost of gas and groceries for Americans Nicki Minaj laughs with them, and you know why cuz broke people should never laugh like that's what y'all sound like You're not making it any better for her When our president wakes up in the morning and eats his British baked beans. It's Nicki Minaj that far And she does it because she loves the president. She loves this country. Okay. She farts for free. We don't have to give her So really she should be getting a couple million out of this bare minimum She's a real fuck like she's much I've never thought Nicki Minaj was stupid. She's much dumber than I thought if she's doing this for free Exactly. Yeah, exactly you won't even do a feature for free. Why the fuck would you? You're gonna throw away so much of your fan base and the shit. You've claimed to care about and stand for for this man for nothing for nothing in retire I pray not Yeah, you can just ignore that right and should have actually Sweetie's getting Sweetie has a lawsuit for three million dollars for allegedly canceling or skipping out a whole bunch of Japan shows Touring no concert promoter says that they gave her a hundred thousand dollar deposit any here from her ass again So how we get to three million Moon dream production if I lost you Fraud breach of contract they said they had a deal with her to perform Across a couple of places in Japan for for performances between July 18 and July 26 They say that she confirmed she perform at all four shows for two hundred thousand dollars half of that was partly paid to her upfront Then sweetie allegedly failed up here for any of the performances But they say what happened next was the company claimed it helps secure visa services for sweetie to her team So they could enter Japan only for the rapid allegedly perform at other venues for no During the exact date that she had already committed to No sweetie say it ain't so now they're yeah They're hitting her with fraud breach of contract now. Yeah, I don't know how they get up to three
million. But I'm sure many in a turning up. Yeah, there you go. The suit is also seeking three million dollars in punitive. There we go. There we go. Because I'm like, there's no way y'all lost out on three million dollars because we did it. Well, I'm no shade DM on tape. But I knew that wasn't true. So yeah, I had to just thank you. You can be expect, I think they can be expected to get half a million at the most out of this. There we have deposit back plus the anticipated or projected profits that they said they missed out on. But having them people secure visas for you and then not showing up today shows is crazy. Baby, please tell me y'all didn't do that. That is too. Diabolical if true. If that is true, what is in charge? Right. Y'all did you think the people were just going to be like, Oh, well, she just didn't show up. No biggie. But she's in the country after we helped her and she's performing over at these other people's funds. Right. And you go into the club and shit. You do a show. Oh, no. No, man. You know what it gives me? The little T.J. boy who said he lent off that all that money and then he was in the strip club begging. Oh, I'm sorry. Wait a minute. Not with my dollars. They said, Oh, no, we worked with the with the Japanese government to get your ass over here and then you just decided you wasn't showing up to the gig. Have you heard anything about our country's immigration laws? We just don't. You either are born here or you're fucked. And that's it. So why would you play the reason everybody here? Oh, we were in five babies a week. Five babies a year. Oh, man. Well, what the fuck did you think he was over here doing playing a game? I don't I don't know who made that decision for her. I got you got to fire somebody, baby. That was horrible, horrible decision making. Yeah. Whichever one of your icy constituents thought that that was a good idea. It's bad. It's not it's not working out. It's it's not looking great. It's also not looking the best for one Clarissa Shields. At least if she's interested in attending another event by MVP. Apparently most valuable promotions has banned Clarissa Shields from attending any of their upcoming sporting events. At least for the foreseeable future until further a further notice they say this happens as a result of Clarissa and Alicia Baumgartner getting into a verbal altercation at an event. I think this is at the ronda rousey. Oh, yes. I heard about that. I heard it was over very quickly. Yeah. Yeah. It was yikes. Um, but the two of them are caught on video arguing back and forth. I heard Clarissa saying like, worry about who you fucking not me or are worried about who you who the fuck you're with not me. So this comes because Alicia has been commenting on the Pat Bruce relationship or whatever. I heard Alicia say something about what you ask right now next to you know, oh, nice. You know, Clarissa Shields slapped her ass back to trainer. I mean, it was a it was a booming slap. It had reverb. It had echo. Um, and then I see Pat Pooce jump in a that's enough security and people are trying to keep them separated. So, the most valuable promotions vent stated MVP maintains a strict zero tolerance policy for hostile threatening regressive behavior towards fighters, staff, media, or guests at any of our events. Physical obligations outside the ring or cage are unacceptable in any MVP environment. MVP does not condone, tolerate or accept Clarissa Shields behavior in that setting. And it reflects poorly on MVP and women's sports, which we have worked tirelessly to uplift effectively immediately. Clarissa Shields and from all MVP events until further notice. And I was like, but they both fighters like this is tea. In any other situation, I would understand, but y'all promote and produce fighting events. The idea that two fighters might not fight. I mean, it's just like, I think y'all are just mad because they didn't fight that this fight happened without y'all sanctioning it. Y'all weren't able to sell tickets for it. So that's why you're mad, but you can't be shocked that one boxer smacked another boxer after the two of them were going back and forth and talking shit like that. Just kind of feels like this is the industry you're in. Like I don't know how mad you can be about that, but also don't really care about her getting a band from there. Is it? Is this like a big deal that you can't go be a guest at any of the, it's not like Will Smith can't go to the fuckers. No, it's not that big deal. As a fighter or even a fan of fighters, yeah, that's a bit of a nick. But also, I just think, yes, it's a silly thing to get Nick, but she didn't smack somebody at the wetsons pretzels. Right, it wasn't even a fan or something like this is another professional fighter. Like, yes, that we all know, we all know they've had issues with each other, don't like each other, talk shit back and forth. And then y'all are sitting here kind of allowing them on camera to go back and forth. So it feels like, it almost gives me bravo where it's like, let's get the girls licked up and ask them about what this bitch said about the other one's husband. Yeah. But if she strikes the other one, if anyone lays hands humiliated, admonished, villainized, destroyed at the reunion, not brought back for the following season. It's like, but you, you amp it up until the very human thing yet. And now it's like, well, we don't tolerate it. You started it. Yeah, whatever. Yeah, because they create the, the perfect environment for this to happen and then be like, don't do the thing that we all know is coming. And it's like, right, that's just to protect your ass legally because you don't want the person who got slapped to sue you and her. So that's why y'all y'all be like, okay, well, you know, you put a hand in a housewife or blah, blah, blah. So I'm sure this is what MVP is doing. They're protecting themselves because that other lady might be litigious. And you know, if I don't like you and you smack me, I am going to pursue that. I am going to pursue legal ramifications for that because I don't like you. Yeah. I think Alicia did even imply that that was what was going to happen. Um, but yeah, I thought this was funny for a number of reasons and most of them, I, most of them I think you have either acknowledged or can just guess. Yeah. Who doesn't, who doesn't want to get they opts in trouble? Like, bitch, I don't like you. Please don't give me a reason to take it as far as I possibly can. Like, but if I was MVP, I would be trying to sell this as like, they hate each other, watch them go toe to toe in the MMA ring on June 4th or whatever. Like, I would be trying to sell another fight between the two. Yeah, putting up like putting up their fucking tweets back and forth. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, that shit. On April 2nd of 2026, this bitch, Alicia went on throats. I guess it up. Yeah. Yeah. At the next fight, be like, all right, to make it fair. Alicia, you get one opportunity to smack the shot at her and then the real fight will start. Let's go. Yes. You know, but I get it. The law. I guess this is why the girls like wrestling. Okay, I sure it's fake, but these bitches fight in and ring outside the ring on the way to the ring, on the roof of the place. It is wherever it's a part of the entertainment. Yeah. You're up with two fighters near each other. They don't like each other and argue. And you're new to it. Are you kind of letting them be close enough to argue with one another? They are in arms reach of each other, talking about fighting. Yeah. So one of them spat no blood. Yeah, right. Not even really from the shoulder. No teeth are missing or dislodged. Like, come on, guys. Come on. But Clarissa, you know, Clarissa does have to do. You have to, you have to be better than this. You are an adult. You have to know that. Yeah. So yeah, I agree. I kind of do feel like babs for making the bed. Yeah. I'm sorry. This is boxing. Like, I already think the sport is barbaric. So one person is smacking another in the VIP area. It does not shock me about boxing. Like, I expect that out of y'all. Very parental guidance. Yeah. Yeah. That's it. Well, that's really all I have for you, girls, on the hot top.
for this week. I'd apologize for not listening to ismenia, but I'm not sorry. - The little one. - Like Jackson Glove. - Oh my God. And the little tagline he put on it on Apple Music says, it's like Ice Man, you know, the cover art and everything. And then it says below zero above you. - So I saw that. - So oh my God, are you 16? - Oh! - All of them have like a little. - Yeah, some little great, little square bio. - Like a little square bio. - And I noticed that too, but the Ice Man was the first one I noticed below zero above you. And I was like, work Regina. On Wednesdays, we do wear pink. - You put that in the barn book on the on the Kendrick Lamar. - Yes. - Say it's girl. - Say it's like, please. - Buggly. - Swap. - Swap. (laughs) - Love it. - That's exactly what it gave. - Yeah, I'll let you all know what I think of the Canadian young man. Yeah, we'll wrap this up and actually get into interesting things, which is Y'all's business. - Oh, call that black out arrest. He looks worse than usual. - Damn. - That's saying so. - It is. (laughs) - Oh my God, they sent me in this homeland. - Okay, that's it. We'll be right back. - Okay, folks, we're back. It's time for your letters. Yes, it is. If you have a question for us, send us an email, ask the
[email protected]. We may read it aloud on the show. We do have an update from Chloe, who, if you remember, Chloe wrote to us about her broke-ass husband who took them to the stake house, but didn't have no money. And she had to transfer some into the account. And she was like, is marriage a scam or is it just my man? And so she said, thanks for reading my letter. It's a sad story, but I was dying laughing. And I wanted to follow up. Y'all read me and him, but you didn't tell, not one lie. I went to that stake dinner because he framed it like he had actually planned a date night for us. He said he got the babysitter and made it seem like he handled everything. I've complained for years about him never planning dates, so I wanted to believe that he finally stepped up. I assumed he had money from Uber or something ready to cover it, but then when the bill came, he hit me with the how we gonna pay for this. And that's when I just completely checked out mentally and transferred the money. So I wasn't spoiling him. I was responding to what I thought was effort, but really turned out to be smoking mirrors. Since then, I've started looking for an attorney and I've already told him I want a separation because just like y'all said, when y'all read my letter, it's time for me to take my life back. I don't deserve this. And the way you frame the lessons he's teaching our kids really hit me. I do not want my children thinking this is normal or right. So I'm going to take some time away. And if that doesn't work, I'm moving forward with divorce. Thanks, Chloe. Exactly. You're going to buy me out to dinner and not have money for dinner like, ah, okay. No, no, no, no. All right. Good for you, Chloe. Best of luck. Let's move on to this week's letters. This first one comes from Juan, who says, hi, Chris Lane. If you're I am watching is God is this weekend. And if you've seen it, I'd love your review. It's a beautiful play. And the director is incredible. Can't wait to hear your take if you've seen it. Love from London, Juan. Did you go see is God is? Yes, I guess. I saw it as well. So I guess, you know, maybe minor spoilers for is God is at this point. I loved it. I cannot lie. I thought it was incredible. What did you think of it? I really, really, really liked it. I thought so many things about it were great. I loved the stylization of it. Obviously, I loved the fact that the twins were so in sync that we had subtitles of them community. Yes. Charter on their head. I thought that was perfect. I thought it was so expertly done. I thought a lot of the little minor black isms that were kind of done. And then like an absurdist sort of way, I thought that was like the child that lost the last of like two minutes, tracking on both things like that. I love the hair. I specifically the twins hair, I don't know, their their braids just felt like iconic to them in a way. It just it fit their aesthetic and an idea. I love the weapon. You would. Only because like, and this type of thing you would get a sword guns, you're like an obvious weapon. Knife, even a rock and a sock being the consistent weapon here. I thought it was very interesting. The acting is great. The cinematography was great. My one gripe was the way that it ended. See, I appreciated the ending. I thought it was so again, like we said spoilers. I thought not only did Sterling cave, I understood why Racine left. What was other twins name? Anaya. Anaya. Wait, so Racine is the one who died with daddy. I understood why Anaya didn't try to save Racine. I, not, you know, I think when she, when she was having that moment earlier with the brother twin who, it seemed like he was like the nerdy shy one and then he ended up being even more evil than his brother. When she was having that, man, when I tell you when, when, when, when Anaya saved him and they were outside, he was like, thank you. And then he strangled the fuck out of her. I literally, so this movie, I'm all over the place. It absolutely was triggering as fuck, as fuck, and I watched a lot of the most violent parts through my eyes, but I knew that or through my fingers, but I, I felt like when she was, you know, when she was, when they were in the kitchen, Anaya wasn't. She was talking to him about, you know, do you ever feel like that other person really benefits off of, you know, you being the ugly one or the whatever one, the not so popular one. Right, right. But that spoke a lot to Anaya's beliefs and, and you know, something that she probably never really even felt like she could vocalize with her sister, but also she told racing. If you kill anybody else, I am going to leave and she told her and there was something in racing that was just like, they daddy and the lawyer even told her that when they went to go see the lawyer, he was like, you, you like him in the eyes. It was something about killing that she racing. It was like, girl, you shouldn't be this excited about killing people like you kill anything about it at this point. So I understood why when Sterling K. Brown pulled her into the fire and I was like, you know what? Actually, this is, this is the end of the road like at, and so I've been thinking about it since I saw it because at first I was just like horrified like, no, y'all did all this and, you know, but the lawyer had also said, you know, be careful with revenge. Be careful because you know, you don't really know how things are going land. So I, even though I didn't see that ending coming, the more I sit with it, the more I like it, the more I think it was as sad as the story is overall, I just, I understood how we got there. I really did. And so I thought it was excellent and excellent film. I cannot wait to see it again. I love that it's pissing off, it's pissing off two distinct groups of people. First of all, black men who feel like, why would you depict us in an abusive way as if no black men are abusive, right? Oh, okay. Wonderful. And then also the ultra super Facebook Christians who are like, how dare you refer to God or anybody else God other than God? And it's like, did you even watch the fucking movie like, oh my god. So one thing I didn't really like was forgive me, Viveka, Fox's performance, like I think I would have preferred somebody else being the mother. I liked it. I mean, I didn't dislike it, but I just, this, I don't know. I think every time I see her, I just see car shield commercials. I just see wig ads, like I just, I'm never, I'm never pulled fully into the performance. Not that it was bad, but I think I would have appreciated somebody else in that role. I don't know, some of the best actors she's done in a long time. Yes, I mean, I, and I would agree with that. So, but it was, I really, really enjoyed it. And I like when movies make me think, so I will see it again for sure. I will definitely be seeing it again. I'll probably get the 4k steelbook probably. I definitely will be getting that steelbook version for the home. I suggest everyone who hasn't seen it, go see it now. I love the fucking pulpy, violent is just, I don't know, absurd, grainy, raw, row, trippy vibe to it. Like, that's my type of shit anyway, the sort of, the way that it sort of invokes memories of Kill Bill for me was great, because I love those films. Yeah, the ending for me is less about racing, dying, and how she died. I think of that probably plays out.
better in the play than it did in film. I've never seen the play itself, but I would imagine that for me, at least visually and thematically worked better in the play. I was certain that Racine was not going to see the end of this. I knew probably about halfway through. She was just to dialed issues being, she was basically being destroyed, being killed by her hate, by her anger, by her emotional scars, were really fucking her up more than anything else. She had kind of just submit to this violence that, like you said, the lawyer was like, girl, watch yourself. You never know where the blood is going. And through that, through her twin telling her, I don't like this. I don't like this for you. I don't like what's going on. Unless you kill Janelle Monet, but baby, it's going to be one more time. So I think the whole thing with my issue with the death was just the way that it happened. I just thought that it looked really silly. So you light him on fire and listen as he is burning alive. And then right in the last second, his flaming arm comes out and pulls you into it. And then it explodes. So what the Jason for war, what kind of fucking nightmare on Elm Street? She is there. Got you. Okay. Know what you did last summer as it like what? So it's like this hand, this arm, a blaze snatches her in to hellfire. There's no way to to save her whatever. And then 100 seconds later, movies over. I would have liked a bit more of a book. So what did God have to say? I did want to know what happened when a Naya got back to their mama. What she already did. That's what I would have. That's how I would have punched it. So you don't went all this way with your sister lost her before you actually lost her. Right. Right. All on a mission for your mama that you kind of just met. Right. And it was weird and awkward. And even before even loving on you, I think even touching you, she was like, can you go kill this man that you also have a man? Mm-hmm. Don't know. Yeah. To go back through all of that. And the bitch dead before you even got to have a regular conversation with her, know where her favorite color is. Yeah. That would have been the gut punch. Yeah. But you just said this bitch off iron and be like, well, I got on the bus and I had a baby. Yeah. I think they were like, and we're going to focus on a Naya being like, yeah, you know, going back to my mama, I don't know. I would have loved to see that. But I think it was supposed to be like, you know, she decided she was going to focus on herself and her baby moving forward and she was going to leave all of that shit behind, which I mean, narratively, that is perfect. Mm-hmm. The execution of that, it felt like it happened in 60 seconds. It did. It really did. It did indeed happen that quickly. Yes. And I think we were all looking for some sort of closure with a Vivica's character. Even without it, it could have been like, I got on a bus and maybe there's just a sequence on the bus where she's like, I'm not going home to that bitch. Yeah. Maybe we get like a flash of her in the hospital and labor or something like that or even just bringing a baby home or just like showing up. You know, I felt like those little moments with her picking herself could have been just a few minutes longer or a minute longer or something like that. It feels like she just lost a sister and then before you could process it, especially if you didn't know what was going to happen. Right. And when he was just done. Yeah. Yeah. There was. I can't help but tell you the amount of people in the theater when a credits hit who were like, okay. Everybody was kind of like and then like on the far side of the theater for me, I just heard not so clap. I think that like we all loved it. We were laughing. We were cheering. And I think I just think that ending caught a lot of people off guard. Yeah. And for me, it was just like, I just happened so so quickly on top of the fact that I guess Freddie Krueger is your daddy. It was such a like 90 slash for a way to kill somebody. Yeah. I also, I mean, there were so many things in this movie that I just adored the scene with the twins and Janelle Monet's character. Incredible. That lady. I was like, oh, girl, you were this close. You were this close. Oh, my God. Why didn't you come out of your selfishness? Yes. Right. Right. For a second to just go, well, if it helps at all, girl, I hate that bitch too. Yeah. I'm on the run at the moment. Yeah. So like, I thought they was going to team up and be like, let's all kill him. I got up. But there's also there's so many funny moments throughout like when she took off her diamonds or whatever and put them in the street and racing was like, don't nobody want show shit. And I was like, her like, hold on bitch. Wait a, wait a second bitch. She asked her after why you want the pearls? When she spit on, I was like, oh, this bitch is. Oh, I said, oh, you're, you have to die now. That's when a night was like, okay. Yeah. Yeah. I'm locked in. We wasn't going to do it. But now we kind of have to. We was just going to steal your card. Now you have to die. You can't spit on it because you know, we don't do that. It's such a soft-hearted, girly girl. I don't really want to do this. Even when that was happening, she, she had to haul her out. Yeah. Like, girl, that's enough. She ain't stopped. That's enough. The bitch wasn't even hollering back no more, like she is dead and the blood is going. Oh my god. Anyway, she was covered in it. Very graphic, very gory. But I thought of very overall of very good movie. Really, really great. Yes. Absolutely. If you haven't seen it and you're sitting through the spoiler for whatever reason, that's like, yeah, go watch it. It is incredible. Go see it. It's really, really good. The cinematography is great. The, the writing. So many of the lines are so great. And the fact that it's these two siblings who have had each other's back. Yeah. They're a whole life. The way that as soon as you meet them, just, sorry. As soon as you meet them and you kind of witness the way that they're locked in with each other, not just for being twins, which that's highlighted a lot as well. For that very early flashback of them being little little girls on the playground. They seem ready. It's called her ugly. Yeah. And she picked a bet bet. Yeah. And was like, God, something for you. And the fact that happened off-screen, too. And then she just comes and sits back where her sister had there was just so many directorial like decisions here that I thought were fantastic. One of my friends was like, I don't know why they were hiding the father's face the whole time. We know that Sterling came around. We do know that we do. But there's a decision here, then us knowing who that is. That goes that they've never seen this man. They don't remember what it looks like. They don't know shit about him. All they know is that he's monstrous. And then he apparently has these big bright white teeth. Yeah. When, when Vivica's character told the girls that men like your daddy always have a tender side or a soft side or something like that, the way that came up twice, first I thought more with the scene with one of the twin brothers who seemed very sweet and then snapped like that. But then also when Anaya fell for this nigga and his your mama told you that. No, no, no, no. I said, girl, you can. And I honestly thought that her telling him that she was pregnant meant he was going to kill her even faster. Like he would get even more joy out of it. I couldn't believe he spared her for being pregnant. I definitely thought he would have been like, Oh, you're definitely killing me now. I turned to my friend during that scene where she put the sock down. And I was like, No, this is taking too long. Can he just hurry up and attack her? This is just driving me nuts. I know he's gonna do it. Yeah. That was rough. I completely agree. I feel like someone else pointed to that too. I think Janelle Monet's character kind of implied it to many of them did. Even Erica Alexander. Oh, my God. This lady cannot be anything but funny. She don't even have to speak when she wasn't get out. She made me laugh without saying anything. In this movie where she's eating the ribs and then she makes this like, this hand just
or like chewing it away. - Right. - She is so funny. - Hello. - It was another thing with her. She was like, oh yeah, he did this for me and gave me this son. And when you meet him, tell him that the check, they all kind of-- - Still waiting on him, girl. - Girl, that man is married with other children. She really thought he was still coming back. And the way that you have to go see her. - Where they asked her when he left. - She said when she was pregnant and then they looked up at this girl, Nigger. - And they said, this is like way. (laughing) - And then she had a shrine to this nigger. Like, come on. - This is what I was saying, it's so absurd, but it also, the themes within them are very valid. - Yeah. - It is fun. It's very fun. It's really awesome to see young black women in this type of like action thriller role. - Yeah. - Love the blood. - Love the blood. (laughing) - No, I just love that it's bloody. Like, I love that it's not-- - I don't know how that's the way, this is the way. - Hey, it's just, it's balsy, it's death proof, it's-- - Death proof. - But it's not a whole bunch of stabby stabby, I'm gonna shoot you in the head. It's-- - No, no, it's much more graphic than that. - Good fortune. They're not killers. - Well, Racine is. - She evolved into one. - I think she always was one. The way she picked up that bat at the very beginning, Racine had it in her, and that's why Anaya. - Anaya? - Yeah. - Anaya. - Yeah, that's why she was like, you know, actually, much as I love my sister, I think she gotta go. 'Cause she not done killer. - She said, she said something like, he called you a glitch. She was like, I am, oh man. And that, and you know, 'cause so it's like on the one hand, Racine has shown these violent tendencies from a young age. On the other hand, she was such a protector of her sister. She did not take no shit. And so anybody saying anything or even looking at them crazy, she was ready for the smoke every fucking time. It's like, girl, I don't know that you really value, but you really understand what it is to have something like that, or somebody like that unconditionally in your corner. 'Cause your mama gave you all up. - And it's like, they don't remember their parents. They don't even remember what happened. - Right. - But they witnessed their mother, that they very clearly loved, be lit aflame in front of their father. So that kind of, or by their father. - Right, right. - That kind of, although you don't remember them, you don't remember it, that type of trauma is just embedded. - Oh yeah, that's saying you. - Forever and ever. So although you don't remember it, you call my sister ugly, this thing, it's in me. - Oh yeah. - I've already experienced insane, senseless, violent. - Yep. Oh, babe. - It's nothing for me to pick up this bet and be sure. - I'm gonna beat y'all ass. Run and tell the teacher. 'Cause I'm beaten ass with the bet. Are you? (laughing) - Yeah. - Excellent move. I'm thinking about it since I saw it. So good. - It is truly, truly excellent. - I enjoyed it. - I can not just watch it again. I love how funny it is for as dark as it also is. - Yes. - The acting was great. I love the costuming. It's so silly. What Eric at least, and it was wearing her wig. - So good. - The whole long braids on Vivica, like Vivica's whole burnt up aesthetic was so ridiculous and I loved it. - I did love it. - In fact, I've never showed the body. - Yeah. - I did love the way she was draped and, you know, the way they had her dressed and all that in the bed. I, excellent, excellent performances from everybody Sterling came around. The way you play a soulless, heartless sociopathic nigga. - No. - How you come home and see your kids dead? And you're just like, oh, well, yeah, shit happens. - Made a sandwich. Drag day bodies and lined them up by the door and went and poured yourself a drink. It's like you knew, you, like you just knew one day you was gonna come home to this. No, even, didn't even ask where your wife was at. Didn't even look for her. Like, just straight up. - Or figured, one day I'll probably do it myself. Oh, it's done. - Right. And then when he's talking to her about it, like the older one that you killed, he was really gonna go places like. - The horrible, like obviously. - The one who was like a dickhead, and you know, I think he was like a dickhead, but probably not evil-hearted like his daddy and brother. - Yeah. - I don't know that he was right. And so it was just, oh, so much to think about. I've been thinking about this movie nonstop. - Asking why he did it. She wouldn't let me hold her. - Right. A man got to feel like a man. What? - At that young age. - Mind you, mind you, you have a restraining order. You're not even supposed to be in the home. - What do you mean? What do you mean? - You got to shout out Sterling K Brown Beach because it's not gonna stop me from loving that man. - Right. - That person. - A performance though. Sterling K Brown, the actor that you are. All everybody though, especially the girls who played the twins. - Yeah, they were excellent. - Reddable, like I excellent. - Can't say enough. Brava everybody, everybody. - Brava and D, go check it out. It's really, really worked out. - It is. - Okay, our last letter comes from Haya Senth, who says, "Dear, dear Crystal and Keef Yuri, my fiance and I have been together for about five years. He's white and unblack. This January we got engaged. And this month we found out we're pregnant with our first child. We, I'm sorry, go ahead. We. Let her have it." (laughs) - Yep, you know, I feel about that too. - I do, I do. It's not a shared womb girl, but anyway. - At all. You are the one who has to go through this month. I'm sorry, go ahead. - We've told my mom and dad who check in regularly from Atlanta as do my friends. However, my in-laws have not reached out to me directly and it's been over a week since we shared the news. Over the past few years, it didn't really bother me that they didn't check in much since I was just the girlfriend who visited during holidays once or twice a year. But now I'm their future daughter-in-law and the soon-to-be mother of their first grandchild. They don't go out of their way to check on me. They didn't respond to my text about baby moon logistics and they've left me on red without even a simple acknowledgement. My fiance says they're not big textures and prefer phone calls, but they are not calling me either. They send my fiance thoughtful notes and gifts in the mail, but they don't do anything like that for me. He is their first born son and his dad calls him almost every day expecting long conversations because he relies on him for emotional support. Meanwhile, my mother bakes him cookies and ships them across the country for his birthday. It is clear that he is a part of our family and he says he feels very welcomed and comfortable around them. My dad even invited his parents to a show in the Bay area where they live and arranged for them all to meet. My mom flew to California to bring the families together for the first time last year. His parents have never made any similar efforts towards me and it's never felt like they wanted to build a relationship with me or get to know my family. This makes me feel like they only see me in relation to him and the baby, like I'm not a priority or someone they care about beyond being their son's partner or carrying their grandchild. I don't expect them to check in like my family and friends do, but I am surprised by the lack of direct acknowledgement, especially since on the call where we announce the pregnancy, his mom jumped to conclusions about them throwing us a baby shower which is not something I wanted or something we discussed. My fiance was quick to shut that down and reminded my mother-in-law that this is not about her which I did appreciate. In general, I feel vulnerable being far away from my own support system during this time and I resent that his parents are physically close but emotionally distant. It makes me not want to include them in our child's future because it feels like they don't care about me only about the baby and their son. I don't think they're racist. They definitely seem to be well-meaning white liberals and I'm sure his mom is excited to have a brown-green child she could show up to her friends. I wish my mom and friends were here in California instead. I love my fiance but I'm wary of white people in general especially when they don't make an effort to build trust. At this point, right, at this point, I don't feel comfortable with them having much involvement or alone time with our child. I haven't yet told my fiance how I'm feeling but I might if this continues into the second trimester. What advice do you have for me? Do you think maybe I should move back to Atlanta? Please help. Hyacin. - Girl, so many, so many notes. - Yeah. - So the expectation or maybe the idea that your in-laws, your partners, parents, family, friends are going to change their energy, opinion of you when you like take the next header and normative step in your relationship. That's not real. If your yo-man's mama wasn't very nice or warm to you before you became his fiance or the mother is hot, it's probably not gonna be much different afterwards. She will probably tolerate you more when you have the baby because she wants baby.
the grandma's the baby. But I don't know. I do because of these are white people. I get having more eyes and ears and brows on it. Because if these are some other niggas, I'll be like, I got in laws, you know, I get being like, are these all racist? Being where your white people in that way is why I've never committed to one. Also, they're nearly never attractive to me. But that isn't about me. I would say from here, moving back to Atlanta, where did they live now? They live in LA, the white in laws are in the Bay Area, and then her families in Atlanta. I mean, I would have moved it so much. That's a lot. Yeah, and that's a big move. I would not place that the top of the priority list right now. Especially if you're not playing on leave here, you're wiping it. I also don't know though if I would wait for a specific trimester to say, hey, if you don't get them. Well, yeah, I mean, I kind of agree that like, it seems like they have never really been the type to check in and be, you know, buddy buddy with you. And I can see how being pregnant with their first grandchild. I think I would also assume that y'all would maybe want to get to know me better or have a better relationship with me because like, I'm your future daughter-in-law and I'm the mother of your grandchild. I would think you would want that, but why people be moving different. Very different. Because let me tell you, my brother's girlfriend was cool or whatever. When she became the mother of my nephew, oh, I was locked in. So I don't understand this really from the white family side, but I'm, I just also kind of, you know, I just kind of would write that off as white people shit. So, but I can also understand you being pregnant and wanting people around who are pouring into you and caring about you and showing you that effort and consideration. So moving is a lot. And I think my main concern would just be, you know, employment, housing, your actual physical condition, like that's a cross-country move. But hell, if you get started, now y'all might be able to get it done, you know, well before you give birth. But it might be, that's, that's also a lot of money and a lot of effort. If that's not realistic, then I would say as opposed to focusing on how these people are lacking really lean into the people who are supporting you. Like, it sounds like your husband's not the problem here, which is great. If he was, this would be totally different, totally different. What, what, you think the husband is an issue? He's, he's making some excuses. I feel like he's making some excuses. Well, I mean, I'm pregnant. I'm having your first big-headed baby tell these bitches to be nice. Well, I mean, isn't it excuse or is it a reason? Yeah, it's a reason. Like, they sound like this is just the type of people that they are. Like, but I agree, they like, okay, this is the worst until this kid gets here or whatever. And so I need that support, like you're saying. So if your mama is retired or something, she can come stay with you for like the first six months or something, I would do that. Any friends who want to come and see you support you, your daddy, your family, whomever, I might give it some time, but yeah, I mean, I don't know. It's hard because you don't want to move just because of, I say just because of pregnancy, like pregnancy is not life-changing, but who knows? Maybe they will become the, well, never mind. Don't even hope for that. Don't even put no eggs in that basket of maybe they'll change. If a pregnancy is not changing them, then don't count on the baby itself changing them. The baby, though, the baby physically being outside of your body. They have to see their little brown grandchild, then they'll love you. Might start with some small talk and then they're like, oh, you know what? I never actually had a conversation with this woman. She's kind of nice. I don't know, you know, maybe, but I like the idea of having if possible, mom or someone come out there and stay with you for a few months, a couple of months to help and also give you the support and love that you need. Because my grandma did that. I think after my little brother was born, the second one, she moved from New York and stayed there. I thought that she lived there. I was like, oh, yeah, she lives there. My brother got to a certain age and she was like, all right, I'm going back to New York. And I was like, where? Yeah. Oh, you don't live here miserable. How could you? Why would you leave? Oh, because I came here to because my grandbaby, right? What you mean? What channel is the golden girls on? I don't need it. How could you just leave? Who am I going to watch general hospital? Yeah. Yeah. If that could happen, that would be my first suggestion. Yeah. I mean, you know yourself best. If you're really miserable with the lack of support, then it's probably for the best that y'all move to Atlanta. You and your husband are really going to have to sit down and think about that. But you know, being wary of white people in general is kind of like, well, I mean, you did have a white man's baby. So you did open yourself up to this. Well, literally. Literally. You did usher in this opportunity to be deeply involved in white people's business. So I, yeah. Oh, I mean, it doesn't sound get out yet. Yeah. It doesn't sound too armitage. Um, but yeah, like, like I said, them being a white family, I do think I would also be like, are they just not big textures, not huge social communicators or yeah. Cause I do think maybe it's more, uh, especially black folks on the south. I think we're probably more likely to be like, oh, I and over at auntie house and stayed with the cousins a bunch. Yeah. And all that type of stuff. That's why I'm like Bay Area white people. They probably rich and maybe rich white people don't act like country broke white people. They don't them. It's two different kind of white people. So I like each other. So I'm saying white people don't even like each other. Girl, they barely speak at the dinner table. I'm not sure if they don't talk to you. But, but if there is a white daughter or son-in-law and they're all up that person's ass, then I think I would be like, yeah, I'm going in. There you go. I'm running to Atlanta just needed a few dollars. That was nothing. I thought you got a song called Rand to Atlanta. Oh, Aubrey. Why are you? Yeah. Highest in. But good luck to you. This is, um, God, I, I've really like, I understand that sometimes people are just cold or distant or, you know, they just don't open up. But you're carrying my blood relative. I'm going to be up yo ass as much as you let me. Child as much as you let me. What girl? You're not going to get rid of me. Did you want a white bestie? Cause you finna get one would be me. I brought love and school. And a bunch of doc mixed stuff and shit for the baby. Like, I don't even know if they still make that. But I'm getting all the, I'm buying all the multiple, multiple shrimp soup because I brought the green beans. I'm getting a kinsy cloth baby blanket and all kind of shit. No, that you'd rather than that. Right. You'd rather than be or to kind of like you. Yeah. Growing a person. Right. I'm going to be like, let me do whatever I need. So this baby comes out. Right. It's healthy. It's possible. Yeah. So yeah. Do you need anything? Right. Some ice for your egg for your swollen black. Are you growing in my little grandbaby's toenails today? Like I would just be so head as. And it would be so. But I think you would rather be annoyed in that way than like, damn, do these people even give a fuck about me? Or like, am I just an incubator for their grandchild? But I'm about to be in this family. Right. Ideally for the rest of my life. So what's the white law in my blood? So it's like, yeah, y'all come on now. Come on now. And raising black kids with white people that you're fostering. I mean, you want to have a black baby and be like, what is her
like grandma and them giving right and right right right right that's what I'm like you got to pay attention and you know this situation better than we do but yeah I hope hopefully we've gave you we've given you some um some things to ponder here as you make your decision but best of luck I it just sounds like cultural differences to me yeah it does but keep your keep your eyes open girl because you never know with them yeah yeah all right that is gonna wrap up our listener letters this week again if you have a question for us send us an email ask the
[email protected] we're gonna take a quick break and be right back okay folks we have returned it's time for the read uh I hit on it earlier so I guess I'll just go ahead and say to all the niggas who are in an uproar about the trail of this black man in the film is goddess. Oh uh pick up a hobby read a book touch the grass outside pick a leaf off of a brick a beautiful tree go play hopscotch do some cardio do anything else with your time besides waste it or expect us to waste it with you um for those of you are upset by this character being violence by this story by you know the father's character being violent being destructive um being murderous and have been committed um these unspeakable crimes against numerous women in his life specifically uh his daughters I would ask you have you heard of niggas like I'm personally not interested in y'all whining about what this means for black man or how this represents black men in any way Dr. serena fairfax was just killed by her black eyes like last month vice mayor Nancy mater just killed by her her husband with a shotgun last month yeah are we really supposed to what play pretend like niggas are not out here attacking and killing women and children because they feel like it because they didn't get what they wanted because they're just emotionally not getting what they need um it happens pretty much every day we talked about two of them last month alone in this year too beautiful hardworking accomplished helpful black women just killed just killed by the black men and their life was supposed to be committed to them and loving them and protecting them so when I hear you niggas complaining about this fictional character who is really serving the purpose of advancing a story that's just bigger than a black man being violent I wonder what the fuck is your plan or point this film this story is not making black men look bad at all black men make black man look bad what okay every nigger who behaves like this or even just a fraction of it and every nigger who is complicit in this type of behavior y'all make black men look like like you do and you would rather run into the comment section of wherever else and act like oh this is today's color purple yeah also a great film so what next and it's really not even that extreme or absurd of a concept because black men do this all of the time yes there are other facets of the entire film and characters and the world that are meant to be like hyper violent or campy or just a little bit hyperbolic I guess but at the root a black family being destroyed yeah literally because of a man in their life a black man in their life who ain't shit and who has a whole bunch of excuses and was probably failed their damn self and never took accountability for it I don't understand why we're acting like that's not a relevant story mm-hmm yeah be the change you want to see bitch nigger if that's how the fuck you feel why don't you go touch and help some of these niggas in the street that are absolute reflections of this so like shut your ever-living lasting asset this is these is God is real people's life today yeah yeah today either living with that nigger right now or living with the ramifications of that nigger and not even just the girls on the road getting ready to kill them the women waiting foolishly for him to come back the kids who never met this fuck nigger who couldn't give give a fuck about him who couldn't give a fuck about that kid who's like you can't tell me nothing about this one you can't tell me nothing about my daddy to the other twins who like it's not just about the the the people in this black man's life that he actually physically harmed killed someone so far it's all of these different facets and branches of someone being horrible sociopathic violent immature mentally and emotionally stunted whatever the fuck you want to call it and it's people's real life at least when they go and see his God is they can go and see two bad black bitches like taking life yeah in into their own hands and getting some get some out of it and they can laugh and they can you know look at sort of silly things like these two girls speaking very black to each other in their heads they can go and just release and think and feel and have a good time in this movie that's not real and I also find it incredibly upsetting and annoying that we always do this with our own art but then kill bill can come out and not necessarily be a statement about all white men killing their wives and babies that gets to just be a movie even though those themes are still ever present in films like that and meant to be there we gotta be like oh I don't know with it girl how about you cup one of my balls and then the other one and just motorboat sound ridiculous that we just buried two black women last month at least two like at least two that we know about killed by their their husbands it didn't really the reason we know about them because they were very prominent women in their community exactly exactly but this happens to three women like come there you more mad about the movie than you are about real life but niggas do worse shit in real life but you online bitching about a movie bitch about the niggas who are actually doing this shit in real life there it is god damn man like priorities is just all fucked up and in the wrong spot I couldn't believe it I'm like I did it I expected the the Facebook Christians to be like is guy is oh uh I'm not even going to see devil wear product because I'll play with that okay my god obelie I'm not gonna do that I expected that yeah niggas to be mounting some sort of internet tirade against this movie because it depicts a black man as an abuser as if so many black men aren't you did we not just hear about that nigger who killed like eight of his own children right just hear about this nigger what okay all right all right and on top of that you want me to what weighed around in your fucking pointless useless nonsense yeah assault box bullshit yeah when I could be going to go see a really great cut critically a claim film a gain and discussing it with people who have since girl get your ass right behind that tj man right behind that office depot or that broth that marshals sit on one of them cardboard boxes and speak to yourself about it or your god is he is is he ain't my Jesus all right I know somebody was gonna do it eventually but I'm gonna I will not is he is a is he ain't my Jesus oh man oh and if you and even the christened like the super high you said that too yes
Like, if you saw that movie, yeah, then you would understand that that go, go watch them. I'm not going to do the spoilers again. Go watch it. Right. Go watch it. And a lot of them be the first one to go ask a open AI a question. Oh, yeah, ask a chat GPT. I guess she's there too. Like, okay, we saw traps. Sometimes we just jump directly over all of the sense, all of the information, all of the, the, the bookery, just to like keep attaching ourselves to sentiments and narratives that don't serve us at all. And actually, many times are put in place to keep us from doing things like I don't know, maintaining voting rights or whatever. Well, come on now. I'm not going to argue with people about a movie that they have not seen. I just actually I draw the line right there. If you have not even seen the movie, we have nothing to talk about watch some niggas who were complaining did watch it. Okay. Well, in that case, you're just wrong in lane. You were just anyway, that they watched it. And I'm like, did you where you awake the whole time? Right. Did it? But did it just hit really close to home? And you're not processing that right? Like this nigga was clearly evil. He was clearly evil. He didn't give a fuck about nobody. So how? Why did you see something in him that made you feel like, oh, yeah, I relate. Yes. You might want to look at yourself, my nigga. He ripped out his attorney's tongue because the attorney didn't laugh at his evil joke. The whole person just wants to make sure you wouldn't go tell. Ah. Ah. Okay. Yeah. It could just be a great movie. And it is. It's I really enjoyed it. So what are they? We have been in the film television literary industry long enough that we should be able to make stories where some of us are a villain. I am like, I would say the same thing about gay characters. Make them bad in their stuff to sometimes, because you know, who is often awful gay people. Yeah. Cause they're people. Yeah, every like, I don't want to see us just be either a great person or someone who's victimized or a magical Negro every goddamn time. Sometimes we could be villains too, because we deserve to have stories of all kinds and facets without it being political. Every single story. Yeah. So that makes sense. Yes. And I feel the same way about black women. I don't see myself in every black woman's character in movies. Sometimes we are the villain. You think I saw a precious and was like, how dare y'all portray Monique in this way? Like how dare Monique portray black women in this way? Bitch, no. Sometimes you're fucked up, even though you're a black woman. Sometimes you're doing fucked up shit, even though like so you can still be a villain. Like I, it's so strange to me that y'all decide it's a fall on the sword for Sterling K Brown's character. Like that is an evil man. Thanks. Oh, okay. Yeah. Alright. Let us have our stories. Let us tell our stories. Yes. Whatever they look. Indy. Indy. Okay. So I am passing my read this week in a way. First, I'm going to talk about what happened in San Diego the other day. If you didn't hear about this two teenagers killed three people at a San Diego mosque on Monday and then killed themselves. And one of Oh God is really terrible. So they killed three Muslim people who were at the mosque. One of them, I think his name is Amin Abdullah was a security guard. And he actually sounded the alarm basically and was able to keep these gunmen from getting much further like because I mean, he ended up dying, but because of his efforts, they avoided a room where like 140 kids were and they other people were able to go, you know, find shelter and safety. So it's really a miracle that only three innocent people died here. And he is absolutely a hero for that because he ended up, you know, deterring these suspects from other areas of the mosque. And then the other two people who died were in the parking lot. And so anyway, it's just an extremely sad story. And people have been rightfully talking about how we live in Islamophobic society and the rhetoric from the president's administration and the way that they act towards people who are Muslim directly contributes to these sort of attitudes. I mean, this is a 17 and 18 year old. Like I don't even know how you get to this level of fucked up. But you know, so they parents guns went and did all this terrible shit. Now San Diego has a mayor. I think he their first openly gay mayor, which that has nothing to do with anything. His name is Todd Gloria. And he was giving a press conference after this terrible shooting happened. And he was stepping up to the podium to do like a briefing alongside law enforcement. And a woman in the crowd who is extremely pissed at the way that he, I guess Todd Gloria has basically not been acting in the best interests of the minorities or the people of color in San Diego. He's just kind of been rolling over for eyes and allowing Islamophobic attitudes to prevail. And so somebody in the crowd decided to speak up as Todd was approaching the podium. And they said this hold please while I pull it up. When I tell you how please, old police. Thank you. The mayor was too stunned to speak. I mean, I mean, he just sat there and blank stared and then looked down and was like, uh, well, you know, hate has no home in San Diego. Like, okay, he had nothing to say to this person, which if you didn't hear it, this sounds like a white woman said, this is a fucking direct result of your leadership, your leadership. Our Muslim brothers and sisters have been talked to you for how long you have to fucking listen to them, Todd. Just like you did with eyes. And then somebody chimed in about it was Trump. And she said, you have been, you, you have emboldened Zionist propaganda and you gonna keep doing it as long as it lines your fucking pockets. Do something. You got a worse approval writing than a fascist dictator with shittiness hands, which or it is fans. One or the other. I said, go off sister. Um, now, now you know how we just said sometimes you the minority and you still the villain. Todd Gloria is the first openly gay mayor of San Diego, their first person of color to be mayor. But if you are, you can be those things you can have those identities. But if you are not standing up for the rest of us, especially as a politician, when it is your god damn job to protect your constituents and to not allow propaganda and lies and bullshit about certain groups of people to prosper in your communities. Then yes, the bare minimum that you should receive is somebody who is part of that community holding your ass accountable face to face as you sit here. Don't come up here now and talk about hey, don't have no place in our communities and all this bitch. Where are your communities? They have ground somewhere. Since when have you felt that way about the Muslims? Since when have you felt that way? Like the girls, the girlies are confused. I don't even know if I remember a time or living in a time that wasn't Islamophobic. Literally. So what are we? Right. And so you would think, you know, like you, you have been elected probably by people who look a lot like this. And the idea that you have allowed that you and you're far from the only politician who kind of like, oh, I don't know Israel. Well, Israel is going to exist. Israel. You are far from the only one. A lot of Cory Booker. Every time anybody asked Cory Booker about Israel, he just slides to the floor child. He cannot take you. But like wins when two ass hole teenagers turn around.
and go attack a mosque and kill three people. And we over here like, well, it's a miracle they didn't kill more. You to act like those two things aren't related is crazy. You're actually going to have to address the things you believe, the things you say, the policies that you stand for, and the rhetoric or the bullshit that you allow to to have a home in the city that you are supposed to serve. If we cut some anybody out, it's the elected politicians. The buck stops with the fucking mayor. So shout out to that white woman for getting you right. I said, oh, and bookmarked. You will be the past three this week's sister, 'cause you said it. 'Cause you cussed that man out to his face and didn't use not a single slur. Like, I would've wanted to. All right. Like, I wanted to. Got you right together. The blood is on your fucking hands. Hold this book, Marxist. I got something for you out there, too. She said, guess what? How you're approval rating lower than Trump's? The best part, you have to go watch the video. The best part is that the sign language interpreter is still going while the white woman is talking. I know. She said that's right. I mean, everywhere. I am communicating to the people. Exactly what it is. The interpreter was like, finally, something fun. Okay. I just like it when people had a little spice to my day. She just kept that right on sign in the whole time. And what I thought is just sitting there blanking like, god damn, this was. What can you say? Not post that right. And he just, that's right. He just stuck with the scripted remarks. Like, because she sat there and called you out to your fucking face, it's your leadership bitch. You got us here. And it's more, more of that should be happening. Like you said, it should be the politicians that we go into first about this. Yeah. One there a time where we just all crowd out, crowd outside of the government buildings. She was in ancient days. I pitched for it. Pitch forks and torches. Back in the day. Bread is too expensive. Now we have January 6th, which I guess is. Oh, please. Did you hear that they're allegedly going to like compensate some of them? I heard that and immediately my brain decided that we were not going to allow that to be a thing. And I'm just not going to, I actually can't mentally accept that. So no, thank you actually. I mean, America's paid. There's no way. There's no way that these people committed felonies on the steps of the Capitol. And we're going to turn around and give them financial confidence. Like there's just that. They attempted to kill baby politicians. The vice president here. The vice president. They're going like, okay. They are flight it to Heaty. Have you ever been in the South of France? You want to go? When America crumbles, nobody will be surprised. None. Not a single part of the surprise that hasn't happened yet. We just count down basically. I don't know. I feel like the 4th of July some shit is going to go. Go down. I don't know. It just feels appropriate. Oh, good. But yeah, shout out to the people out here holding our elected officials accountable in one way or another because it is sorely needed. Tell the truth. Don't be afraid to say it. Tell the fucking true. Your perseverance and your, your efforts. Not only do they not go unnoticed. They are ever inspiring. Yes. Very appreciated. Because like Chris was here, I get it. I look at the news and I go, "Why am I awake?" Anything stopping me from going back to sleep. Man, let me tell you, I'll be waiting for the sun to set. Like, let me go take a shower and get in the bed. It's about that time. Thank God the day is over because every time it's just the news be bad all day. All day. Like, I need a break. I do. Things are fucking terrible around here if you have not noticed. But yeah, shout out to that woman for being brave enough to tell the truth. So. Well, you're something positive. And have you, did you listen to Coca-Cola? You know it came from Coca-Cola right up on my TikTok. I said of course not. Coca-Cola. So I heard it on TikTok. I didn't go press play on the song itself. No. That's what I thought. I figured that's where you would have heard it in the first place. And I came right up. It did. So shout out to the algorithm. These phones are never not listening. Isn't it so bad? It's pretty bad. But she's 19. It's like she's having a good time. Yeah. Yeah, you know, sure. You know, I might be drunk at some point this summer. And that shit come on. You don't hear me holler. Yeah, you're going to catch me. So I do it randomly all the time. Sometimes it actually catches me off guard and it pisses me off. Yeah. And link be like. Hey, why does it always have to be something with you? She says. Why can't you ever just shut your ass up? And like, you met it yourself. Why do you keep saying it? I don't know. I can't. It just comes out. Go get out. They said girl, have you tried not saying it? My damn. Why don't you drink some so I don't have to hear anything? If you love coconut water, so. Oh my nerves. Damn.
