Morgan Stewart opens her solo podcast episode with a candid reflection on her evolving identity and the limitations of her previous content, which she describes as overly superficial and glam-focused. She admits that despite her high-profile lifestyle, her public persona has remained unchanged, failing to represent the deeper personal struggles she’s experienced—such as the loss of her father and brother, health issues, and motherhood. This realization prompts her to commit to greater authenticity, stating that future episodes must go beyond surface-level humor and entertainment to explore real, unfiltered experiences. She critiques past episodes, especially the Roxy segment, for not fully addressing genuine emotional fallout, and expresses regret over not advocating more strongly for Alex Cooper, despite personal connections. Stewart also shares personal anecdotes about her health journey, including a disappointing consultation with a Beverly Hills doctor, her dedication to self-care, and her evolving relationship with motherhood. She touches on broader cultural observations, like the influence of 1960s glamour in fashion, the rise of social media monetization, and the growing trend of peptides and infusions. Through playful and heartfelt moments—such as her daughter’s math questions and her admiration for Sobers’ mom—she balances vulnerability with levity. Ultimately, Stewart emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, real human connection, and personal growth, asserting that her future content must reflect a more honest, complex, and emotionally grounded version of herself—moving beyond the privileged, polished facade she’s been known for.
(upbeat music) - Hey everyone, I'm Morgan Stewart and welcome to the Morgan Stewart Show. I'm gonna be talking about pop culture, fashion, my personal life, and just a warning, I will be giving my opinions on everything. And those opinions are subject to change, okay? Now, let's get into it. Hi guys, I'm so excited. My second solo pod, I did my first solo pod last week. Again, the lighting we've clocked in. We've clocked in, I'm like straight to camera and I don't even feel bad about it. Glam again, I just want everyone to know like we are in a glam world. I know I said that last time, but it is truly what's happening. Kim is here, you can't see Kim, but she's sitting directly behind the camera. I like everyone to know who's in the room. - I'm here, hi. - You're here, do you know what I mean? Because you know what it feels like? It's like when somebody answers the phone and they're on speaker and you do not tell people who's with you. There is nothing more fucking rude. I don't care if my housekeeper's next to me, I don't care if it's my nanny. If I'm on speaker phone and somebody calls me, I'm like, hey, you're on speaker phone and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah is in the room. Do you know what I mean? So Brendan, my producer's in the room. Cody's in my room too. - I'm in a room. - Okay, so my booth people won't mention. Jessica's here, we know Jessica. Okay, guys, so we have lots to discuss. Lots of things on my mind. Okay, first of all, I watched my episode from last week and I just want to say I have to sit up. Okay, I'm casual. I'm like, I'm a podcast television star hybrid. And I watched my episode from last week. I smiled the entire time. The entire time. I really was just so joyful and excited. And that's when I knew like, okay, you must be a really big star because if I'm laughing at myself, I'm doing a good job. I do want to talk today about some things that have been on my mind and pivot into a more serious topic. And it's not serious. It's just something that I think I need to just get out there. And I actually did a tick talk about this, but I want to get into it a little bit more in depth. And I've obviously launched this show. I have done a lot of guesting. There's clips of me all over the internet and they're all the same. They're like funny, quippy, fast, surface level, jockey clips. And I just feel like who is that person, right? I obviously have talked at nauseam about all the loss I've experienced between my dad dying, my brother dying, the thyroid going out, not feeling good in my body, having babies. I've talked about all of these sort of things that have happened, but yet all the content that I'm in, I am the exact same person or seemingly the exact same person I was pre-going on, whatever this little break was. And I think for me, and last night specifically, I was sitting up and I was like, who are you? Are you going to forever be this sort of blonde, privileged girl that leans into this sort of facade? And I mean, not that it's a facade because I'm obviously hyper-privileged. I have a really extraordinary life, but it hasn't always been as extraordinary as it is right now. I'm in a really good spot. But I just feel like in this next iteration of me starting this podcast, me being in your ear every week or on your phones every week as you're watching me, what am I giving to you that's different from the person that you knew before? And I just feel like it's time to probably delve deeper into a lot more stuff and just more topics that maybe I've avoided in the past. And I don't mean to like say all this to lead up to this big disappointment, but I just want you to know that it is something that I'm very aware of. It's something that I don't want to continue on with. I think we're going to have to get deep. I don't know when I'm going to want to get deep about certain things, so I ask that you just stay patient with me because there will be a time. There's just things that I feel like are important to talk about, things I want to talk about. And also just again, as I said, this next iteration of me can't be an extension of what you already know because that's fucking boring. And not only is it boring, it's genuinely a waste of my time and a waste of your time to just consistently have the same sort of like content from me. So, and I think I'm also my harshest critic. And I think watching also the Roxy episode, I think I wasn't as locked in as I would have liked to have been. I think it was a great episode. I know we touched on a lot of different things, especially if you were a rich kids watcher, that's another thing we don't need to ever talk about, rich kids again, like it was 12 years ago. But it was important for Roxy to come on because we had to close that loop. It is very rare in reality television that you have two of the main characters have a major falling out. And then the second one of the two cast members never comes back. That never, ever, ever happens. The person always comes back. They walk through some dark alley and it's like this big reveal. So I felt an obligation to the audience to do that and kind of closed the loop. I wish we would have gone a little bit more into the details of what happened. And also, I think I skimmed over a few things of like, oh well, she wanted to talk about stuff off camera. I went, no, we had a very real falling out as two best friends. Regardless if we knew we weren't going to be friends through the show, we both walked away from a relationship, dead cold after that interview that you guys saw on television or that episode that you saw. And she definitely feels the same way that she felt then and I definitely still feel the same way I do. So I just felt disappointed in myself that I did not go into that issue more deeply. Another thing that's been on my mind is I did skinny but not fat. No, I didn't. I did that. That was a good episode too, though, funny. But I did the bitch bible two weeks ago. What was two weeks ago, a week and a half ago on Friday? I can't hear you, one week, okay, one week ago. Anyway, it aired. We touched on the Alex Cooper versus the Alex Earl drama. And this is also kept me up at night because inside I'm like a ball of marshmallow and I'm actually quite sweet. And I felt watching myself back. It was a very neutral stance that I took and I was explaining both sides and I meant everything I said. But the truth of the matter is I approached that dialogue or whatever I said as, okay, you guys know my relationship with Cooper. So I don't need to get into that. I said I have exchanged messages with her. So I thought it was clear like Alex Cooper's my friend. Alex Earl is not somebody I know, but I don't dislike. And I feel like as somebody that's exchanged messages with Cooper over the last however many days, messages of support that have come from me, I should have gone to bat for her a bit more. I did call her daddy. I had a dinner with her and Jackie Shemmel. I did a live show with Jackie Shemmel and Alex Cooper for 10 minutes. And then we've had another dinner. So I have met Alex Cooper or been around her in person four times in however many years. Still, she has been nothing but wonderful to me and we've had really nice exchanges and they have felt very genuine and they still do. So I just wanna say I love that girl and I feel bad for what she's going through and I wish I would have expanded on that as well. So we can only learn from our mistakes but it was important for me to get that out there just kind of say like I'm watching everything I'm doing and I'm going to improve and I'm gonna take feedback seriously and I'm excited. Okay, other random thoughts. Lena Dunham has a book out called Fame Sick. I haven't read it but she's been all, I haven't read it but I'm gonna read it and Jessica I need you to order it because I'm gonna read it now 'cause I'm on a book reading journey. - Ordering right now. - Yes, let's order that. My very after that whole long feel about being authentic, my big point about Lena Dunham is that her glam has been unbelievable throughout all her presses and I just wanted to point that out. It's been amazing, it's been amazing. Like everything is just giving 1960s glamour. She's got that like dark black hair that's so gorgeous that eyelashes are curled, great. Another thing, sombers mom is so hot. - I'm googling right now. - Okay, sombers mom is the hottest fucking bitch I've ever seen. I randomly saw her, the whole, everyone's googling it. I saw her in the crowd at Coachella and I've seen her in the background of some of the things that he's done and at first I didn't know that they were related but I am shook if by how gorgeous this woman is. Isn't she? She's like tan and thin and has that sort of like dark brown hair like Bohemian, like you could tell sombers, right. Sombers parents are just like those cool New York Brooklynites don't know if they're from Brooklyn. Have no clue. I feel like they're just cool people. So that was the thing. Another thing, this is also very late but it's important for me to say this. Justin Bieber's Coachella Performance Weekend 2 resurrected something in me. I felt like humanity was brought back. Like we all were brought together by this performance. Obviously watched episode one or not episode one. Season one, no, weekend one. Weekend one. So weekend one. I watched it. I was in Mexico with Jordan, we watched it and he was definitely like a bit more timid. Definitely wasn't sure what he was doing. He wasn't sure how he was going to be received. Is that a fair statement? Like he didn't know like how much the audience was really rocking with him and when he came out season. It was fun talking to the podcast as canceled. It's over. It's over. It was fun seeing him weekend too. He came out and he fucking owned that shit. And when he got in the crowd, I just we were all reminded of who the fuck Justin Bieber is. And I will point out, I did a less than flattering moment with Justin Bieber a few years ago. I made a really off color comment about. I don't even remember what, maybe like his skin. Something so pathetic and beneath me and so low-hanging fruit on Nightly Pop. And he tweeted at me. And he said, maybe you should spend time like getting like self-love or or stop wasting time with spreading negativity, I didn't see the tweet. And I was coming off daily pop and PR texted me at e2 girls and they were like, don't answer Justin Bieber. And I was like, okay. I thought he was coming in as I didn't know what was happening. All of a sudden, I like look up. There is like five executives, four PR people. The building is like SWAT team shut down. He tweeted at me and the whole world basically erupted. And I was like, I felt awful, but I was kind of like fuck fabulous, you know what I mean? So it was a big moment for me. It was like everywhere they used every horrible photo of me and it was like, who the fuck are you to talk shit about Justin Bieber, you look awful. And I think about that because I am his number one supporter and I was so happy to see that he just like owned that whole thing so well. And if at any point Justin Bieber wants to come through the Morgan Stewart show to just like, I don't know, chat, I feel like we could do that. Right? I feel like that's not that far-fetched. I wanted to talk about Justin Bieber. Oh, we have to talk about my constant, what, what do you want to say to me? What are you going to say? I thought you were going to say Hayley Bieber ushering Billy Eilish on to stage and how Billy Eilish is doing. Thank you for mentioning that. That's great. First of all, also just separately, Hayley Bieber being as naturally beautiful and effortless also throws me into a place that like, I can't, I like don't understand how it's possible. Love that girl. Also love that girl for how down she is for her man. Think about it this way. Obviously she's had to deal with all of that fucking bullshit with his ex girlfriend from when they were literally 11 years old or however long ago it was. It's a really young girl to be with the same guy to ride with him through all of the ups and downs to have his child to keep him together like, that's a good woman. That takes a lot. I don't know if I could do that and she really has. Okay. Another thing that I want to talk about is I finally got my consultation with for my Eilids. So I went in to see Dr. Groth and Beverly Hills. So if you don't know which you don't probably, Dr. Groth is the eye guy. Like he is the one that specializes in eyes. He does brow lifts, eyelid eye things, fat transfer, all of the things. And what I'm experiencing now is that I have a heavy lid which I've always had and I have a hollowness under my eye. I've never used filler under my eye only in the outer cheeks. We'll talk about that when Dr. Diamond comes on. And I went in to paint the scene. It was four o'clock in the afternoon. I had not eaten enough so you already know it was not good. I was very fidgety, very antsy. He did make me wait for an hour, which find your big fancy Beverly Hills doctor. That only increased my anxiety and I wasn't well fed enough for this consultation. Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah. Everyone was stressed out. Finally, he comes in, mask on, whatever. I brought a girlfriend with me. I'm like, basically black out and want to get out of there as fast as possible. He takes a look at my eyes and he was like, you can't do this. And I was like, why? Because I'm a gorgeous girl. Like, what do you mean? He was basically like, you have some peaking in your right eye, which I guess means like folding of the right eyelid. He said, your eyebrows, I said, well, what about a brow lift? He goes, your eyebrows have always essentially been this low. This is not an age thing. This is just your anatomy. And if you were to raise them, you would look unnatural and freaky. And your eyebrows drop a millimeter, either every year or every 10 years. So he said, my eyebrows are where they are. I can't do anything about it. Then he said, your eyelids, you basically are at the very threshold of like you could, but I don't think it's going to give you the results that you necessarily are looking for. You should essentially wait. I said, well, what if we took some fat from my ass or from my stomach and like spread it out like jelly on toes and like get some fucking shit going on under the eyes? He said that all look like I have two hot dogs under my eyes by the time I'm 48 because the fat, the fat, are you going to like implant like or put like two hot dogs on the screen? And I was going to say the promo image for this should be you two hot dogs on your eyes. If there's two hot dogs like on my eyes, but not like pointing out my eye or in my, you know what I mean? And he said, the fat on your stomach doesn't like dissipate the same way. So you'll basically just have like two floating chunks of fat under the eye. And I was like, not chic for me, no, thank you. So long story short, I'm going to go back, I'm going to go back because I was too tired and hungry and I need to revisit because he did take a long Q tip, yeah, and fold back the skin. And I just want to tell you unstoppable. I'm an unsopable person. I was so stunning and gorgeous. And then I was like, but I got to go eat and my husband was waiting for me at sushi. He already got there too early. I was stressed out. So we need to go back and we're confirmed for May 2nd, April 30th at 11.30. I'm also getting highlights before that appointment. So I feel like that's a little bit ambitious. So we'll see if that works out. Ro is like smart, which is so fucking annoying, I'm like, God, can you be dumb or? And she wants to read and she wants me to read every word and she wants to now start asking me basic addition. So she's like, what's five plus seven plus zero plus six? And I'm like, ask your father. That's crazy. I'm now like seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, zero, okay, so it's still 12 plus the six. It is taking years off my life to answer this little girl's questions. And we're not even usually the moms and stuff that I've talked to are like, okay, you will start not being able to do your kids homework around 5th grade. It's way before 5th grade for me, okay? The basic math addition, I have no idea, I'm literally like, and she's always asking me when I'm like blow drying my hair or doing stuff or like preparing dinner so I don't have my phone around me. So I'm like, bitch, I need to calculate that. I don't know what six plus seven is. What is it? I don't know. That's funny. Is it 12, Fred? It's 13. Is it 13? It's pretty close. You can't make it up. Adam, did you know what that was? Adam, what's your title? You run everything. Let me tell you why Adam's on my shit list right now. Adam doesn't want to get rid of the early release. I want to be relevant. Don't leave. Don't leave. Good. Get on the mic. What's your exact title? Say hi to everyone. Do you love that I have an audience during my show? My title is Senior Vice President of Podcast Content. Oh my God. Did you guys hear that? Oh, so senior. I have senior people because this isn't crap content. Wait until I really tell you some shit. Should we do questions? Let's do it. Cody, tell me. Do you want to do questions? Yeah. What do you got? I called an action on Instagram. Who replied? There's so many questions, guys. And I'm definitely going to leave this episode and be like, I wanted to talk about blah, blah, blah. But I feel like we covered quite a bit of what's going on in my life. I do, first and foremost, have my first kindergarten group meet and greet on Friday. What do I wear to that flats, right? Yeah. I mean, I don't know how hard do you want to stunt on them? You know what I mean? Like, Cody was stunned. I don't know. I mean, what? I got to stunt on the indiguarded mommy. Listen, stunt, big timers here. That was crazy. That was a cash money records came through. That was literally like my 15 year old self was like ready to go. What am I doing right now? Questions? Yeah. You were going to see which of your fans asked good questions. Okay. Let's get into it. Okay. I'm going to, I have paid. Okay. Just so you guys know, I have papers of questions. And then I also have Instagram of questions. So let me do a peak C. Yvonne from South Africa, which is so international with me. Do you see? I hit all audiences. The nail polish on your hands match the polish on your toes. For me, absolutely personally, this is not, it's a non-negotiable. They have to match. I feel like it's just not, I like when things are coordinated like that. I don't know. I very rarely don't have that match. It's not like offensive if they don't match. I just think for me, like, it looks uniformed and that's like probably my Virgo rising. Oh, that's another thing. We can't keep talking about astrology. Like, we get it. We know. We know you like him, Morgan. Gabriella asked, what would you say is a good everyday shoe alternative to a ballet flat, but love, but just not flattering on me. Gabriella, I don't know if I believe that. I don't really see how a ballet flat is not flattering on people. I feel like that's a very flattering shoe. Then I would probably figure out a different type of ballet flat, like one that's maybe smaller around, like a, like not a thinner one, but less material or like visit a cute sneaker. I need more details about that. Yeah. Can she write that in and let us know like, wait, type of pants is she wearing? Yeah. Like, that makes a difference, too, right? What's the length? Or is it a flat shoe isn't beneficial for you and you need to do a small block heel? Like maybe that's an option for you. Like, we need to have more, more options here. Somebody says, would you like your own talk show one day? Sweetie, this is going to be a show. We know that. We manifest that. I want to dress like you, but don't have the budget. Where do I go? This is a good question. You don't need to, I wear very simple, basic things, okay? The reason I buy things in the more expensive price range is, hey, I have, I can and I'm fortunate to, but also because I want things to be able to last. I'm trying to keep these things for as many years as possible. You literally can go to any single store that is a T.J. Maxx, I don't draw stress. Whatever the fuck. You need a pair of black pants that are flattering, a white T-shirt, a black T-shirt, a black sweater, a beige sweater, a black blazer, a pair of really good fitted dark denim pants, jeans, light pair for summer and a pair of shorts. That's all you need.
- That's like a capsule wardrobe, right? - Capsal wardrobe, things that you wear do not need to be expensive. I wanna make that very clear. It has absolutely, something is not nice because it is pricey. It is the opposite, to be honest with you. You need to just have a few basic things, and then you can also just, you have your capsule wardrobe, like Cody said, and then you can sprinkle in more fun emotional items when like you're in the mood to splurge more, but you always have your basic and your uniforms to set you up for success every single day. Best and worst thing about motherhood. Well, the best thing about motherhood is being a mother. I'm obviously very fortunate to have those two adorable children, I love them, but managing children in their emotions every day as somebody who gets very overwhelmed very quickly and like the nervous system starts firing fast, like it's definitely a lot to manage and take on. It's definitely the most selfless thing you will ever do, and it doesn't matter if you're, I'm obviously a mom that is like getting up with her kids, making them lunch, they go to school every single day, sometimes I pick them up, sometimes they're nannies, pick them up. This is another thing I think people are interested in, so I'm gonna expand on your question. I have two nannies that cover seven days a week. We do not always have them seven days a week, but we basically have them start at eight o'clock in the morning, and they will leave around four or five o'clock in the afternoon. Sometimes they'll stay later if we need them to. On the weekends, we decide, a lot of the times we'll have our nannies not work on Sunday, or on Saturdays, a nanny will come in the morning, they'll help with whatever needs we need help with, and then if the kids have birthday parties, I will take the kids to birthday parties. My nannies do not do play dates with other kids, and my nannies do not take my kids to birthday parties. I am the, my husband and I take that on. I think like the times that we can be with them, we are. But yeah, I think it's just the best thing about motherhood is that you're a mother, and the worst thing about motherhood is that you are a mother. Like you, you never, ever rest, that never leaves your brain ever. You never, ever get to go back to an older version of yourself that like gets to be more relaxed, it just is gone forever. So managing that new reality I think is definitely challenging. And I think that's also why all these different blogs and all these different specialists are like, it takes five years for a woman to return to herself and to her identity because you don't even realize that it's happening, but you get thrown into a washing machine, you get tumbled around, and then you come out, and you're like, wait, oh, I just sort of feel okay. And I just sort of feel okay, like back to normal. The last year, not even, six months, past nine months to be really specific. And I ask a follow-up question. Yes, of course, I have to drink water now, tell me. Yeah, are there like milestones you're looking for too with your kids? No, 100%. I think for me, like Roe comes into our bed every single morning, she like kind of knocks on the door. It's like a little knock, she's so cute. So at the like little toddler touch, she's like in little Kupajama, she's cuddling between me and Jordan. And it's like, I literally want to freeze time. But then I'm like, I'm so excited to get to see who this girl is going to become. I can't wait for them to get older. Yes, it's amazing that they're so cute and sweet and gray is like the sweetest little precious pie. Like, and I don't mean to say they're sweet because they're children. I genuinely, there are kids that are not sweet. My children, I can honestly say without a shadow of adult, adult are very kind sweet people. They're spicy, and they don't always listen, but they're kind-hearted, and they're not like a mess. So I'm excited to see who they turn into, what their interests are, who their friends are, is Rogan of a boyfriend. She's not going to like boys for a long time. Late bloomer, early bloomer, is gray going to be famous. I feel like gray is going to be famous. Like, as much as I love them, small and excited to see them grow into the people that they're going to grow into. And I'm also curious to see how their relationship is going to evolve. I think that's very, I'm curious to see how that goes. Okay, dream podcast, I feel like I've said this, but I have to answer this again. Kristen Wigg, what's happening? We need Kristen Wigg. Adam, are you asking? We're asking, I'm on with PR. She's on hiatus for two months. I'm in touch with her PR girl. We are going to keep pounding her. We should send her, are you on that email with her? Follow up with her and say Morgan just mentioned Kristen on the podcast. And we would basically, I'll burn my fucking house down to have her on. I'll give her any Birkin or diamond she wants. She's probably not into that because she's cool. I'm also not into that either anymore. I'm like moving on from that. I'm into it. What are you into now? What am I into being authentic? There you go. I also don't like wearing, I like only wear earrings. Oh my god, mom life. That's all I do. What you eat in a day, workouts. I have a lot of workout questions. So we might as well get into work. People love day in the life. I fucking told you. All right, my day in a week, this is how it goes. Mondays, when I make it, I have the gym for an hour with a trainer seven to eight. I have that, I have a trainer in the morning on two days as well at eight to nine. I'm being very specific with times. But I try to work out three days a week. That usually means I work out two days a week and I am complaining one of the days a lot. And then the second day, I'm doing really well. Again, all things, I am a racehorse. All things need to be well fed, well hydrated, well rested in order for me to operate correctly. And if I don't, things are a mess. I eat, well, do you think I eat well? I'm asking my assistant. Yes, for the most part. For the most part. I don't, first of all, I'm somebody that is hungry, but full very quickly. And I'm a hard time with food lately. I don't know, I just feel like I never know what to eat. Nothing ever sounds good. But on a normal day, I'm having chicken and salad. And in the morning, I'll have cottage cheese with fruit or some bacon and eggs. I try to eat as much as possible. And I'm drinking a fuck ton, fuck horse load of water. I had to kick the soda. I'm definitely drinking a lot more water and I had to cut the juice. I definitely have like a, I'm definitely into sweet drinks more than I am sweet food. But I definitely take care of myself, but it's not too, I'm not very rigid about it. It's not like a huge thing. What would you say that you think the perfect age to get married is? That's a very personal question, like meaning personal to you. I would say, first of all, you know if you're marrying the right person, you know. So I think if you know that you're marrying the right person at 22 and you walk down that aisle and you're like, this is my person and you have no doubts, fine. I think if you, there's no perfect age for anybody. I think for me, if I would have married the right person when I got married at 27, I would have still been married, obviously. But I think I knew deep down that that wasn't the person that I should have been married to or getting married. I knew we should have been in a relationship for as long as we were in a relationship but we should probably not have gotten married. So I think there's no age limit. I think it's really just about how you feel about each other. I think you can know at 22. I think it's tough, but so I think like 27 to 30, I don't know, you can't put an age on it. You gotta just live your life, right? How did you find your way back into alignment into your current marriage? Into my current marriage. Well, I separated from my ex-husband and I got my own apartment. And this was the first time in my entire life that I had lived alone. I paid for every bill. So I paid for my apartment. I paid for all the furniture to furnish it. I paid for my light bill. I mean, everything you, everyone in the world pays for, I paid for on my own. I moved into, we separated, we were separated and then I moved into this apartment. I lived there and when I moved into the apartment, I was like, I'm gonna be here less than a year. I was not speaking to Jordan. We had no plans of reconnecting nothing. I knew. I was like, it's gonna be like seven months. Seven months to the day I moved out of that apartment. I just think, well, first of all, to speak candidly after the whole beginning, the relationship was, the relationship is always over before the announcement of the relationship. So we emotionally both were very checked out of the relationship. That relationship in my mind was just no longer. And so, yeah, I think it was just like, when Jordan came around in a serious way, which took a few months, I was like, oh, this is meant to be. And I, even with Jordan, it was not important for me to get married to him or engaged to him, but I was like, I wanna have children and I want them to be with you. And I had absolutely no doubts. And I was in a long-term relationship and marriage obviously before that, where I was like, that wasn't even on, yes, it was something that I thought about or we would have said because that's the thing you do, but like there was a reason it didn't happen. Was that well said? Did I explain that clearly? - Yeah, absolutely. - Yeah, like it's just, and I also think a divorce with somebody that you don't have children with, unless you do not want children, it's just not as serious as somebody that if you were to separate from somebody that you have kids with because the person that you're married to, that you don't have children with, you don't ever have to talk to this person again. You walk your own way and then you never speak again. Or you stay friends, however, the dynamic is. But if Jordan and I God forbid one day ever separated, which I don't even want to say out loud, we would never have to be able to leave each other because we have two children that we made together. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) Okay, let's see if there's any juicy other questions. Fashion era, you would go back to and why. I feel like the 1960s, I always say that. I'm big on that, the swans, like Babe Paley, like those just getting dressed. I love getting dressed and I feel like in Los Angeles, there's just not, it's just not the much opportunity to get dressed. There's no occasion. Nobody is getting dressed. Nothing ever is deemed that important. And even me who has a closet filled with so much shit, I'm like, I know I'm hanging to wear it. I'm just going to wear that.
these same pants that I wore six years ago. Like, I love to be dressed and have an occasion. So I think that that era of just formality, I'm like smoking a cigarette indoors like fab, you less. - Is that your favorite era of style? - For sure, 'cause I feel the same way. It's all very classic and you can still, and it stands up today. - It stands up today. I do think in fashion right now to mirror it is that we are venturing into our 1970s. We were in our 1960s with the minimalistic explosion and then we are now venturing into our 1970s. How to make more money as a single woman in her 30s? Ooh, only fans? Monthly budget, is that too invasive? Yes it is, and I don't know it. I don't know it. - Wait, let's go back to the only fans 'cause I feel like people-- - Only fans, don't know this. I feel strongly about this. If I had like better feet, I would sell feet picks. And I think that's a big area that it's like, you don't have to put your face anywhere. - Can I, Cody, I fucking just fell in love with you. By the way, there's no judgment. If you're a woman in her 30s and you need to get bills paid, you do what's best for you. And I literally just watch Margot's got money troubles last night and she, not just in spoiler alert, she's started in only fans, she's doing feet, she's doing all the things. And I think you gotta just do what you gotta do or start a step sack or just get on social media or whatever, just things that are easy for you that are attainable, that you can do from the comfort of your own home. There's so many different ways to generate an income now. I started a sub-stack granted, I have a large following, but like that has given me a serious chunk of extra cash for like very minimal effort. So I think take the time, invest in yourself. If you are somebody that is interested in social media or fashion, like put your point of view out there and just keep going because nobody has your point of view. Like we all think that we're just overly saturated and nobody wants to hear from us, but it's important to just remember that you're unique because you're the only one like you. - So, I think that's what you just gotta do at works. How to maintain your body at this age? Am I at this age? - At this age? - I'm not 50. - I think people have a really more sense of age, especially younger people right now. I realize where it's like, I'm in my 40s. And it's like, things change, you get older, but also like, I'm in classes doing yoga doing better than like much younger women. - 100% it's weird and it's all subjective. I really hit that at this age is very strange and I feel like people need to like, unloosing that from their brains. - Literally, I was gonna say like, okay, well I guess in your 30s, obviously things change. Very subtly, I think it's more mental. I think you need to just take care of yourself differently. I think you prioritize your health a bit more, right? Like what I was doing in my 20s, I am not doing in my 30s, I would love to be doing them. I just will not survive. If I have one too many drinks and not enough food, it is a two day hangover that I don't have the time anymore to reel from. Like I literally went to a birthday party on Saturday night, I had one tequila. When I say one tequila, I mean, one tequila, not one and a half, not a mixed drink, nothing. It was tequila on the rocks. It was a solo cup that we brought from the house. It was my own liquor, so it was good liquor. - The big dazzled solo? - No, no, it was like just straight plastic. Like this isn't, I'm like. - No, 'cause you're real. - Yeah, I'm like a real girl. And I went to the party, got home at 12 o'clock, watched Justin Bieber, and then I woke up that next day, I had to get micro-needling. We have to talk about micro-needling. Two more questions than micro-needling. The day was fine, I had a great day. Monday morning, I had to get up for the gym. Guess what happened? I didn't go. I could not get up to go to the gym because the sleep I missed on Saturday night fucked me in the ass, okay? That's what happened. So I think taking care of yourself and I also think water and electrolyte goes a long way. Protein, consistently eating, checking in with yourself. You just can't get away with the same things that you got away with when you were younger. I don't know what this is. - Just rest, prioritize rest before you know going to the gym 'cause it's like, gym's not gonna make you look better if you're tired. - And I also can't approach the gym the way I want to if I am tired too. I got a nod from Brendan Good. You're still here. - I'm here. - You're here. - Okay. What is most important to you in female friendships and what do you look for? I'm a very needy friend. I definitely, the attention has to be on me. I have learned that it is sort of like my friends orbit around me and I am the sun and I know that that sounds crazy, but it's a reality that I have to be honest with. And you need to find personality types that fit you and what you need. I'm a really good friend. I'm a very loyal friend. The people that I love, I love hard. That is why I have like my two standing friends. If I had to bury a body, they would bury them with me. I have my one girlfriend from the seventh grade and then I have my best friend John from 20 years ago as well like those are my ride or die. And I have some others friends in the extenuating circumstance that are not my like old, old, old friends but are also good friends. I've had a lot of female relationships fall out. Not a lot, not a lot. I think two particular come to mind in particular come to mind. One was a girl that I met through a mutual friend and we really tried for a long time or at least I tried for a long time. I tried to shape shift. I tried to evolve into being a version of this person. I saw this person as somebody who was extremely insecure and rubbed the wrong way. I was a lot for her to take and I tried to make myself small and like basically present as though I am not as big as I am. And just that is a mask and like here I am and I try to expose myself and just continuously show her like I'm nothing to be. I don't know, not jealous of but just like, let's just do this friendship thing. Like all the fluff fuck it. It didn't work, we had to walk away. So I definitely look for people who are happy in their lives, people that have their own relationships that they're excited about, their own passions that they're excited about. It's very also difficult when you have people that want to do the same thing as you and then you succeed and they don't. I think that's also challenging. And somebody that's direct. The two friends that I mentioned are very direct with me and I'm very direct with them and I think that's why it works. The friendship's hard. And I do think separately people are so weird. Like they're so fucking weird you guys. Like every basic interaction that I have with internet girlies or like no one is a real person. And I don't mean like real in the sense that you're telling me that your dad couldn't pay the rent in 2005. I mean like serious and like I'm saying this to you and you're saying this and we both mean it and we're gonna do X. Like every interaction everybody has become such a fucking weird ass social climber, social media obsessed wanna be famous person. And I'm like the who I am in front of you at home, Jessica's that true, my assistant's been with me for like I am consistently myself no matter what. And everyone else is just dealing with their own stuff which I understand but it's just like every interaction with me for me has gotten very challenging. I don't know what it is, it's very odd. - But not to bring it back to the term I hate but like at this age but I think as you get older you don't deal with bullshit as much, right? Where it's like you've got your, I feel this way I've got my two best friends and sometimes that's enough. I think that is enough, I mean sometimes I do feel like wait I really haven't checked in with any of the moms of the friends of the kids that my friends are kids with, kids are friends with. Am I short circuiting? You got it. I really get busy in this life of like mom, boss, business woman, wife, daughter. Like I have so many things going on in my infrastructure that like I get very removed from like socializing with people 'cause I have so much going on and then I feel like wait no but that's what life is about. It's about human connection, it's about being able to be there for people and sometimes I feel like I'm not but it is very hard to manage all of those different relationships when you have a million things going on. - Well you also have your husband, your two kids, your mom, it's definitely and then you're very close with that and those are like your core group, your friend and then you've got your two best friends, that's already it. - It's a lot, two hands. - Yeah, it's really a lot. And then obviously like I have girls on the periphery and I have like this whole business. So I'm like not thinking, I think people think I'm thinking about different things. Like I'm thinking about market in June for Rangley and like are we opening a store next year and what investor's gonna come on and do I need? There's just so much on my checklist that I just really think you need to find your people that ride with you and understand where you are and you understand where they are. And I think friendships most importantly, they are built on trust but they have to be effortless. And if you do not feel good with somebody, I have done this so many times. I am and people think I am loud and strong and I am all those things but I have been with people and continuously have made plans with people that I feel empty when I leave them. And I'm like, girl, let's practice what we preach here. We can't just be having dinner or something you don't feel comfortable with. I've had that a lot and that is one of my biggest flaws like I will try to make people like me even though I know they just don't. And I hate to blame anything on jealousy 'cause I'm like what is jealousy? Like are people really jealous? They are. Are they? Yeah, yeah. People are jealous and I am not jealous and I am not jealous and I've never been jealous. There wasn't, I didn't always have 300 Berkins. I don't actually have 300 Berkins. I don't. I have a lot. Moving on, it's not about all that. I have not always been as fortunate as I am now and I never was like, oh, she has that, I'm angry. I want everyone to rise and feel good because I want everyone to want that for me. That's been refined but that is at the core of who I am.
- I have a question following up for that. Do you feel like it's competition based or jealousy based? Do people feel like they have to compete with you? - I think people think I'm judging them more than I am. So I definitely think people feel uncomfortable about that. And I think it is, I think I've had friendships where it's been competition, where people have tried to belittle me and minimize me and pretend like I'm not as great as I am. And look, I could not turn that camera on if you gave me $10,000. It couldn't, not even a joke. I would not be able to. Everybody has their gifts, right? My gifts are front facing and what I'm doing now. This is the set of gifts. I couldn't be a lawyer, I couldn't be a doctor. My best friends are, she just family law, right? We all have different gifts. So when you have somebody that like kind of wants to emulate or be what you are but doesn't possess that gift and can't focus on what they're good at, it poses a problem in the relationship and it causes friction. So I might be a little detached from reality and unaware of like how my life seems to people. So I do think people are jealous. 'Cause it's not about, oh, she has this bag and this diamond and this jacket. It's like, but then I also have a husband who is a wonderful person. He's wonderful to me, he's supportive to me. Not only is he supportive to me, he gets up with his fucking children every fucking morning and spends time with them. Fuck all the bags, fuck the house, fuck all the shit. Like at the end of the day, if we lost every dollar, which happens, like people go through things and like they don't always have money, we would be fine. He would be there. Like all my girlfriends, they're like, my husband doesn't, and by the way, that's okay, my dad wasn't, he was a traditional businessman. He got up every morning, we had breakfast together and we had dinner together. He wasn't taking me to birthday parties. He wasn't like doing that. I'm very fortunate, but I've also had a lot of other shit thrown at me, so I don't know. Friendships are crazy, they're so difficult, it's weird. Oh, this is fun, we need some light, right? We need some levity. How do I approach a cute guy in my apartment complex? So you use your legs and your feet and you put one in front of the other and you walk up to this person and you say, I want everyone to wait, you say hi. Men are so much more scared than you. They are literally, they would die for you to go up to them. So just say hi. Any man I've ever wanted, I've always, either DM them, message them or gone up to them. I think I've initiated most of my love affairs. Except for Jordan, both times, peptides. Let's talk about peptides. So let me just said peptides, question mark. Everybody I know in the entire Greater Los Angeles area is on a peptide. I have sat with many different women who are on peptides, they're ono-zemic. I am literally the probably one of very few women that is not on a GLP1 and I am not on any sort of peptide. I am so terrified to just start injecting shit into my body that I don't know what it is. I don't know how it's going to make me feel. And like really not to be this like cross-year-old lady, but like what happens long term? Like what are these, this fountain of youth that we're just like injecting into our veins? Like what, what happens? Like in 10 years, 15 years, it's like, oh, the peptide you took that was blah, blah, blah is like now causing cancer. I just don't want to go near that. I also think we're being fed so much stuff to like get, to take your money, to buy things, buy things, buy things. And I think everyone needs to kind of take a step back. It's also, it's all this trend-driven stuff. It's like when everyone got their boobs done and their butt's done and all the body fat, now everybody doesn't want that. Like I just think we need to be very mindful of exactly what we're doing. I will say, I know two girls intimately that are on peptides and they look unbelievable. They make you look less tired, it's anti-aging, but like, then why haven't we known about this and why haven't we been doing this for years, right? I also just thought peptides were like, serums you put on your face. Well, there's those, but like injecting like a copper peptide makes you a gorgeous girly. So I might venture, but I also think it's like they're not cleared. Is it a little whack-a-doodle? I'm just scared, I'm scared. And as somebody who hasn't felt well before, I don't want to do anything, that's going to disrupt that. How do you feel about iron infusions and vitamin D infusions? I don't love an infusion. I much rather orally just take stuff. Like, are you low iron? You need to take iron. Every woman needs to take iron and be 12. I would just like get one. I don't know, infusions. I also think too much of a good thing is never a good thing, right? But yeah, you should definitely get iron. I quit with your doctor. Yes, I'm prescribed vitamin D, but that's for my doctor 'cause I'm low, so I take it, but I'm not taking anything else. But aren't women always low on vitamin D? Honestly, I think so. We are, it's always the vitamin D, the B12. My coq10 was low. Do you know what that is? No one knows what that is. No one knows what the fuck that is. Oh, how many carrots for a daily diamond stud? How much can you afford? That's kind of really where we're at, right? Micro-needling. So we talked about peptides. We talked about my eye job or whatever that I'm potentially getting. We'll see, we'll let you know. Micro-needling, I got it on Saturday. No, I didn't, when did I get it Sunday? Sunday. I got it on Sunday out of all of the beauty treatments. My skin is a little bit flaky even though I got full glam 'cause I'm a gorgeous girly. It is the best treatment you can do to your face. I have done fractal laser. I have done soft wave. I have done filler in my outer temples and cheeks in my jaw. I've done Botox. I have done, that's it. Lip filler. That's it, is that it? That's it. And this, this is, nothing is better than micro-needling. Like it's just, the skin gets classy. The pore shrink, like you really do. And I'm like in the middle of the shedding. I, if that's one piece of advice I could give to anybody. It's just micro-needle every four weeks. It really, it's the youth. I might even stop Botoxing. It's pretty accessible. I heard you can put like some infusions. I can put Botox in it and it helps shrink the entire- I've done that, I've done Aqua, so I've done something called an Aqua Gold Facial. Well, it's like a stamp on your face and it's filler and a bunch of, it's like not real but a little bit and they just stamp it in. But micro-needling, it's like, my skin has been tight. It's been taught, it's been glassy. Like everything just feels like it's gonna come together. And I micro-needled a little bit under my eye for the crepiness and I'm telling you guys to the girlies and to the boys. I really think micro-needlings are a future. How deep did you go, do you know? I went pretty deep. Not, you know, I'm baby girl. Like I can't do things that are too crazy. But it definitely hurt like a motherfucker and I don't numb. I cannot numb. I have the biggest phobia of numbing cream. If you, if there's numbing cream on for too long, I feel like I can't breathe and I need to be rushed to the emergency room. Is this where Rowe gets her not wanting like the suntan lotion on her? Yeah, but did I tell you Rowe also doesn't like stuff? And that's the weirdest thing about kids, like the genetics you pass onto them of like, just isms you have, like I'm very fearful around things like in my eye, close to my eye and she's the same way. Rowe, yeah, definitely has a sensory issue. I also am taking her to the podiatrist because I think that right foot is leaning in a little way. I gotta get that checked out. And another thing because I will tell the people, I had to wear corrective shoes. Corrective shoes. (laughing) Lean in. (laughing) It's from the Judaism, okay? My dad had this issue too. I had to wear corrective shoes from like two to six. They were black and white saddle shoes that had like nails at the bottom of them. And every photo is a child I'll get some of me in these shoes because my feet were so flat and not formed that they were going inward and Susan being fucking German crazy. Well, the Birkenstocks they invented in the best engineered shoes she knows. She took me and I had to wear these shoes literally for five years so my feet, and now I wanna say this, I would make millions and only fans, I have gorgeous feet. Thank you. Yeah, so that's, so Roe might have a little on the right foot so we gotta get that foot formed, a little bit. Great shot. Are we good? I need protein. We good. Okay, yay, bye, love you so much, bye.
