A Big Steelers-Cowboys Trade, Minecraft Mike Tomlin, One Stat for Every Game of NFL Week 4, and Happy Birthday DK

This episode blends fantasy football analysis with deeper cultural and personal reflections. It opens with a celebration of the MLB postseason, emphasizing the emotional intensity and high stakes of October. A central focus is Mike Tomlin’s unexpected dedication to building a highly detailed Minecraft city, which is presented as both a creative outlet and a meaningful family bonding experience. The show critiques the perception of the Pittsburgh Steelers as stagnant, contrasting their local pride and family-oriented culture with their on-field performance. In the fantasy football segment, key matchups are dissected: the 49ers’ elite offense, the Jaguars’ efficiency, and the Packers’ offensive struggles are highlighted. The episode also features standout player stats, such as Parkers Washington’s route efficiency and the Chargers’ chaotic offense. A recurring theme is the value of personal connection—whether through gaming, family, or sports—against the backdrop of team performance. The narrative balances humor, insight, and critique, concluding with the observation that even in failure, moments of connection and creativity can offer real value. Ultimately, the episode underscores that the most impactful stories in sports often come not from wins, but from human experiences behind the games.

So while everyone is running out of money, you get one plan, one price, just $30 a line per month, even for a single line. about the Steelers just being like stuck in mediocrity and, and doing and you you just know nothing's going to change like at least with the giants like they're trying and they're taking quarterbacks and they're signing new coaches every two years and it's like you're just they're trying the steelers are just fucking doing the same old thing one foot in front of the other every year and you know nothing's going to change and there's something are you are you a quarterback from the pittsburgh area right are you a coach from the pittsburgh true and here's the thing we say it is a joke but it is true like if you just look at it art rooney the steelers court again my wife is from pittsburgh craig a part of your family's from pittsburgh the most pittsburgh thing ever is like loving people from pittsburgh it is the biggest small town and the roonies are the most pittsburgh family and they he had to come out and be like we didn't hire mike mccarthy because he's from pittsburgh and then he talked for three minutes about how much he loved that mike mccarthy's from pittsburgh they took kenny pickett who was the quarterback at pit during covid and then they just were like in the same facility the same building that the steelers facilities and they're like we love this picket drew ailer at penn state like they just love fucking local people and they're just yeah they have a very like 1950s i like the cut of your jib you're a local kid business what's what's the thing in frats where you like if your dad went to the frat you can go in the legacy yeah like joey porter like was a local thing like loved your dad and it's just they have such an old yeah it is it is an insanely it's it is they do run it like a family business not like something that it's worth like 13 billion dollars which is probably what the steelers would freaking sell for so it okay uh but speaking of living in a different world we have to talk about mike tomlin and this youtube video which i i can't believe we talked about this at the jump but we have to mike tomlin if you didn't see his son released a 19 minute youtube video that is mike tomlin just sitting there and taught he it looks like the world from inception it is like the biggest city i've ever seen and he spent 12 years on this dk did you watch this i did not i saw my highlights episode one was titled rooftops penthouses and urban living can you for the people that don't know what the fuck minecraft is can you explain this to me like as i'm old i've never played minecraft oh it's like it's like you build these brick by brick it's like lego but way more it's it's like a lego in a video game and it's like way more detailed and there's thousands of things but you can do there's like a game you can play with like levels and open world like imagine grand theft auto was 8-bit like grand theft auto looked like tecmo ball and was pg but there's a free world where you can just build a game and you can play with like levels and open world like imagine build i've never played it but you're not like i assumed it's like roller coaster tycoon when you just kind of build yes park or something it's like that or like literally you know in inception when they get stuck there for like 50 years and they're like we'll just build a city it's like that it's like roller coaster tycoon you can just have all these city though where things happen in this in the city or does it just like you build these buildings and then they're just sitting there like it can be yeah okay but yes sims sims is a good example um all right so yes i did see that he had an incredibly detailed uh minecraft city he was talking about how urban landscape he's really conscious about lighting and he loves lighting like he's really he needs to have a good view from his buildings this is so it's just a heavy side no no it's actually hilarious it i'm actually like it doesn't bother me i've all the jokes about like if you look at the playoff record after he started playing minecraft i'm like whatever he probably is playing on you know what the man was like i have a stressful life and this helps me fucking disconnect like decompress good for you um this this episode at the time of this taping has been up for 15 hours and it has 740 000 views which is a lot to watch a retired nfl coach play minecraft um it started as a curiosity but it's actually really nice you know the progressive commercial that's like talks about the he's introducing the influencer guy to all these like people that are you're becoming your parents or whatever he's like so you just you just film yourself reacting to stuff he's like wow you must be really good at reacting like mike tomlin you wow you must be really good at building a fake city out of fake bricks dude he is my favorite thing about it is tomlin attacks this city with the same tomlinisms and enthusiasm that he does everything else and he speaks so seriously about this world that he's built if you close your eyes you think he's taking you around like a building and he's selling you an apartment in a building it sounds like he's working in real estate and he's renting at a conference that is how he was yes he like wasn't using it up he was sitting in a chair his son was behind him and he's like all right so here we have an executive spa to the left of the lobby uh there's therapy rooms this is a multi-purpose conference room we have a ballroom i'm very lighting conscious lighting was a challenge for me it's unbelievable lighting was a challenge flatly seriously about this world dude he was talking about i've been i've been exploring the concept of the world and i've been exploring the concept of the world and i've been exploring the concept of the world and i've been exploring the concept of jack and jill bedrooms more that became an interest of mine oh okay so like a bathroom joining the two bedrooms it's so incredible yeah the bathrooms thing he literally it's just like you'll find an appropriate number of public restrooms throughout all of my public facilities he's building his minecraft city to code he is he i'm not even kidding he literally said he goes into one of the public bathrooms and he's just like not anything over the top in terms of detail sink areas stalls etc things of that nature he's thinking about the public bathrooms this to me look i'm gonna be honest this is incredibly sad how dare you this just makes me sad i don't know i know i do understand like it's probably a really good way to decompress somebody didn't imagine that he plays five hours a week which when i heard that i was like that's not that bad that's fine that's fine but like caring about the public bathrooms in your fake here's what i'll say it's okay mister i do a fantasy football podcast you have 28 leagues fair enough fair enough glass houses i didn't build my glass houses on minecraft though there is something very addictive and you kind of like fall into like i had a moment in my life where i really liked roller coaster tycoon when i was like i don't know my early teens like where you start building but that's the key key point there well so what his sons got him into it there was a moment in time where i was stressed about my farm in farmville and i was worried that melons were going to rot if i didn't get home in time farmville was that was really important though it was so i i do get it um yeah but that isn't that kind of a little sad though no you're worried about your fake pumpkins or whatever man people can do a lot worse shit you know there's a lot worse ways to spend your time okay that's fair this man is building a sprawling urban landscape get outside and touch grass i wish we had more mixed use zoning in this country you know what i mean i kind of like what tomlin's cooking up here about indoor and outdoor entertainment that was a big component there's rooftops there's nothing morally wrong about what he's doing i'm not saying that he could be doing much worse things but how much of it's because it's a video game because there's a weird judginess of video games where i think people of your age dk were told video games are a waste of time and tomlin got into it because his son was doing it and his kids it was a way to spend time with his kids then his kids grew up and left then he was like i'm gonna keep doing this it's like uncanny valley there's something about it where i'm like i can't believe this is real and i'm watching this i think there's something about it so weird i don't have an inherent problem with it but it's it's extremely odd to have mike tomlin talking to me about his down lighting and how he used certain tiles because they provided more light in his minecraft home i think i have i also just have a inherent uh by anti-bias against sort of like the minecraft world and i don't even know if it counts as brain rot but like the brain rot thing because calvin my son used to watch we had him a kid's youtube account and he would like just watch people playing minecraft and now i'm like this is the war this is quite literally like the most worthless thing you could be watching i will say carlos producer carlos sent in this text the other day yesterday and was like this is the reason the steelers are bad we talk about like people taking up golf and getting worse at their job like this is this is because he was focused on building high-end residences along the river he's really focused on the lighting the best line in the whole thing is uh well one there's a there's a giant hotel named trump tower and then his son added the caption we built it in 2015 nobody thought he would win please don't add us which is just like a funny caption can you not change it i i didn't make the video costs too much minecraft money craig and the the best line in the whole thing is he built this entire hotel that has an aquarium like on every floor of the hotel it's aquarium that goes up to every floor by the he keeps saying this phrase elevator wells which i think is so funny is it a hotel or apartments or part that's a luxury apartment on the water that has an aquarium through like this 40-story hotel or apartment and his son was like yeah getting in the water there was crazy and tom and mike tom was like yeah i'll give you a tour it's across from the real aquarium i'll give you a tour of that one day the aquarium's crazy but yeah getting the aquarium in this building man the water that was a nightmare the topography was like an issue he's like man i had to blow up mountains and redevelop land like he's like it was a lot of work it's i just can't like the way that he's talking about that i kind of i kind of see it also did he name it so i love dk didn't watch the video i've seen people playing minecraft before you haven't seen you've probably watched the 11 year olds play minecraft i like that tomlin's son tweeted i used to come home sometimes and my playstation would just be gone and i wasn't in trouble because tomlin just put in his room and was playing oh that was incredible now we've been talking about people watching minecraft for now 20 minutes and then people are going to listen to us dk with dk watching tomlin play minecraft right dk has 37 dynasty fantasy football leagues and is like that minecraft's a waste of time i said watching people play minecraft is well you said tom i'm doing yeah and pathetic which i do find it a little sad but that's fine i'm just being honest uh all right we're gonna go through the games uh we're gonna try to give you like one big fact or one important fact from each game uh first one here cults are at washington not really though because my one fact for this game is that it's in london We are back, baby. And the London is a good fact. Well, honestly, it's the most important thing because every year this happens, which is the first international game in London gets played at 930 Eastern or 630 Pacific. And someone wakes up and is like, oh, my God, I had the Colts kicker and he's hurt and he's out. Or like I put Terry McLaurin in my flex. So now I can't move into receivers. So I can't play this running back this week. And it's like my analysis of this game is set your lineup on Saturday. Like just set your lineup on Saturday. And now there's going to be a bunch of international games this year. But this is the first one. And you're going to forget. So if you take nothing else in this episode other than DK hates Mike Tomlin and Minecraft, it's takeaway that, yeah, set your lineup on Saturday. By the way, Austin says, I'm only calling it sad because I didn't watch the video. He only plays and builds because of his kids. And look, that's fair. That's fair. If you're doing this, playing with your kids. You got to pick a side, buddy. Yeah. Are you in or out? I'm looking. We talked it out. I was starting to kind of get it. I understand the Tomlin thing. I did find it initially a little bit sad. If his kids watch him play Minecraft. If he's playing with his kids, to me, that's not sad. If he's in his own room playing by himself, that's a little different. Oh, I imagine it's a healthy dose of both. Yeah. It became both. But if it's a reason to connect with his children. And then they went off to high school and stuff. And now he's like, now I kind of like it. Okay. Well, that's a little different. I get that. The context here is because I don't have kids. Sometimes I'll play video games. And DK is always like, honestly, you resent that I have time to play video games. That's really what it is. Yeah. You don't resent. When you play video games, you resent free time. Sure. Yeah, that's fair. All right. Anyway, happy for you, Tomlin. Do you think, do you think, DK, though, that there is a, look, I've never understood people watching other people play video games. I never will. I won't do it. And I never understand it. However, is there something kind of like, let somebody watching a creator they like play Call of Duty on Twitch. And they're like talking and they're making jokes as they're playing the game and you sit and you watch it. Is that that different than listening? Do three dudes talk about games that took place? No, not really. Is it that different than watching two guys talk about the NFL? I think the delineation here, and I agree with you. I understand that. The delineation here is I don't want my six-year-old watching people streaming and playing video. But you're just saying you don't want your kid. But you're just saying you don't want your, yeah, that's different. Obviously, I agree. Yeah. But it's not like specifically watching video games. Like you don't want your kid on his screen doing anything for four hours a day. Yes. But also like the Minecraft stuff that I've watched. What I've watched is it's truly terrible. Well, maybe you should find Calvin better fucking videos. Well, I did. I fucking told him YouTube was broken. Well, why don't you just find the seven-year-old? This seems like such an easy answer. Have Calvin watch the Mike Tomlin Minecraft videos instead of whatever 11-year-old's been posting to YouTube. Maybe he'll be a Steelers fan. That'd be cool. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. We need it. We need the help. All right. One thing I want to say about Colts Washington is Jaden Daniels went on this trip to London and has resumed throwing. And I don't think. I don't think he'll play this week, but I do think he will play soon. Like, I think he's going to put the brace on and do the Kurt Warner peer pressure. Just go there. Jaden will play soon. I don't think he would have went on the IR if Kurt Warner hadn't said this thing. No, I think he didn't go on the IR because he was just like, I can't do this again. I think it's like the same. Yeah, it hurts just as bad. But he's like, I'm just not doing this again. Yeah, I don't think there's a reason to put him on IR. Like he's the quarterback. He's the roster spot. Also, here's let me. This is an incredibly ignorant thought. This is non-throwing arm, right? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Like fucking tape that thing up, put it in a JJ Watt Robo cast. And like, I understand the problem is like him getting hit and getting tackled. I'm like, but like throwing, is he really affected that much? Well, that's what Kurt Warner was saying. He's like, fuck, who cares about your other arm? It's like, fuck your other arm. Who gives a shit? As long as you can catch the ball with two arms out of the snap, then you're fine. That's my incredibly ignorant take. Well, honestly. The real answer is you're going to have to hand the ball off at the other hand. Craig, it's not an ignorant take because that's quite literally exactly what Kurt Warner said. And what Jen Daniels is going to do. Shoot it up, get some pain medicines and fucking go out there. I don't know. Yeah, it just keeps happening for Seattle. I know that is kind of a strange. RG3's injuries for Seattle. The Jaden injury the first time. Like every time this happens for Seattle. Well, it didn't happen against Seattle this time. It happened the game before Seattle. That's true. The game before. Yeah. Uh, okay. There's a few games this week that are just fantastic. The first one being the Denver Broncos are at the San Francisco 49ers. Yeah, this game is great. What's left of the Niners? The 49ers are favored by two and a half. Here's my stat, which I found fascinating. There is not one matchup this week where there's a greater Delta between quarterback EPA for dropback. So Brock pretty and bone eggs. It's basically first and last. I mean, not literally last for next year ranks 28th, but the only players in terms of EPA for dropback who are lower than him are Daniel Jones and cam or no, sorry. He's behind Daniel Jones and cam board. The only players behind him are Drake may Baker Mayfield and sorry, Craig, Aaron Rogers. Those are the three quarterbacks that have been worse than bone eggs. EPA for dropback. I think you can kind of see it. The, the, the, the Broncos offense has not been functioning efficiently. Um, Nick's, I don't think it's been very good yet. He is the, this is the type of quarterback he tends to be. He's like, he gets better as the game goes on in the fourth quarter. He starts to really turn it up. He has, I think two fourth quarter comebacks and two game winning drives already this season in three games. Um, so this is the type of quarterback that Nick's is, but pretty, basically this matchup is between a perfect offense, the best offense in the NFL through three games by far in the 49ers and a Broncos offense, which has really struggled relative to expectation. Um, so I, I thought that was just interesting. The 49ers literally first in points per drive, first in success rate, first in yards per play. I think they're third in points per game. Um, they're just really, really executing efficiently right now. Well, and the joke of it. Is that there's so many people who are banged up this week. Once again, for the Niners, there are people who are just out and on IR, but like Mike Evans, we still don't know if Mike Evans is going to play in this game. Like the receivers and it's going to be so banged up. He has this rib strain that he's trying to play through. Shanahan said he might play the hip issue from last week is already gone. Mike Evans has had like six injuries in two weeks. I feel like he's already had a full season's worth of injury. Can we, yeah. Can we list off the injuries that he's had? It's like a hamstring, uh, ribs, hamstring. I think, yeah, dude, he's just been incredibly his whole body. Incredibly banged up, uh, DK. Are you starting Jalen waddle in this game? Um, in the league that I have him, I kind of have to, it's basically, this is the question I'm facing right now. It's it's Jalen waddle or, uh, Kalief Raymond. And I think honestly, like, I don't know what to do. I think maybe Kalief Raymond is the goal here. But what would you guys do if you were in this situation? Get a time machine and none of us draft fucking Jalen waddle, which is what we said to do. And you said you were crazy. Now you get it. I have a great Kalief Raymond stat for you. You want it? Sure. This is so that this, the jets are playing the bears. Um, I found this myself. I was just like searching around true media last night and I, I recognized something. And I was like, Oh, I want to see how many other players share this. Uh, Kalief Raymond, the only wide receivers to record at least five catches in the first three games this year. And he's the only wide receiver to record at least five catches in the first three games this year. Each of the first three games, five or more catches. Jackson Smith and jig, but CD lamb, Chris, a lava Garrett Wilson, Kalief Raymond. That's it. Elite. Elite. He I've seen a lot of stats about Kalief Raymond. I know that we're now just talking about a totally different game here. Uh, I've seen so many stats this week about Kalief Raymond and what he's done with Ben Johnson over like the last three or four years or whatever it is that he's been with the lions and the bears. Um, and he just keeps putting up numbers, man. They are actually quite ridiculous. I, you know, it's yards per route, run all these efficiency stats. He just really understands the offense and is always where he needs to be. I don't know if he's like a special player, but he's always had speed and explosiveness. And you kind of see him when he gets the football, how he can kind of create big plays. Um, but man, he is like five, nine, one 60. I think he's 30 something years old, 32 years old or something, 32. Um, and he just keeps doing it. I think I got to start clean frame it over jail and waddle. I'm starting waddle in my home league. Hi, but you have waddle in the ringer league. I think. I think to me this week, I think this game should be high scoring. Theoretically, this should be a very competitive game. This is the last straw week for waddle. Like this is like, if, if it doesn't happen now, if he, if he goes one for four, basically in his first four weeks, he's also in a boot this week. I don't know if you saw that he was walking around in a boot. Um, if it's, if it's not this week, it's like it's over, over and I just won't play him again, but I think I'm going to give it one more shot. This is the week Troy Franklin gets eight targets. Sure. For some reason, for no reason at all. Next game. That also is just a great game is the Jacksonville Jaguars are at the Cincinnati Bengals. Yes. My stat for this game. I was kind of surprised. The Bengals are favored by two and a half points in this game. That's not my stat, but that's, I, that I was surprised by that. I know it's in Cincy. I was surprised too. Yeah. I think we should take the Jags and ringer. I totally agree. I had them written down. Um, my one stat is that the Jaguars have run five offensive plays while trailing this year. Five. Five. The fewest in the league. I was just kind of shocked at how dominant they've been. They've outscored their opponents 48 to six in the first half. half this year which is obviously the biggest mark oh wow in the league um but i think this game's going to be a huge shootout i think this game's going to be super fun basically the jags defense when they can't generate pressure is not good and burrow's been getting the ball out faster than any other quarterback in the league because he's like he's like the bangles are the only team that's not jumping on the under center trend burrow's just like i'm doing shotgun so burrow is burrow yeah he's understanding the least in the league um and burrow's getting the ball incredibly fast and he's not getting pressured that much because he's just getting he's like doing rogers park and bark type shit where burrow has the third lowest pressure rate in the league and it's just because he's just saying hike and he's getting rid of the ball it's like the peyton manning thing where he just he's running the peyton manning offense right like you spread things out you play from shotgun or whatever and he's 35 kind of sometimes i know he takes hits and he'll do that but like he's already like playing like a like a grizzled vet who wants to just not get hurt which is smart which is good yeah complimentary right um i also want to point out because the jags have been ahead so much i would argue i didn't we didn't really talk about this but i would argue everybody on this team is a bylo like even though they've already been playing well they just haven't had the same amount of opportunities as everybody else to like need to score dude parker washington who is the number 12 wide receiver in fantasy so he's playing great he's he's 56th in routes run this year he's run 61 less routes than devon valet i mean well yeah this just goes back to what you said they're always in the lead he's had like two less games of routes than devon valet you could argue parker washington to buy high because he's probably just going to be a monros saint brown for the next five years and no one it's gonna he's but like basically you're like oh would you pay top 20 receiver for him i'm like yeah this is he's going to be a top 15 guy probably the guy has run half the amount of routes as all the other good receivers in the league and he's going to be the number 12 wide receiver yeah i like because remember how a couple shows ago we were talking about like i don't know if i would trade parker washington for anything i in the in the off season i was really really torn because like yeah i really like parker washington like every time he plays it's like wow this guy's really good he just shows up every time and i had a couple people send me legit first round dynasty picks for parker washington and i couldn't pull the trigger and i'm feeling so good about it not not giving up on him keeping him because i do think he's going to be a like that is the trajectory that he's on and you don't negotiate mid-season like the steelers but it's exactly right it's this simple to me uh who do you think would score more fantasy points let me do it the other way would you trade away justin jefferson to get parker washington in regular fantasy yeah oh this year maybe yeah for this year yeah maybe yeah but who was going to score more points this season parker washington or justin jefferson probably parker washington parker washington i feel like pretty confident parker washington will outscore justin jefferson i mean yeah and yet trading that making that trade still feels like just that's crazy but like he's going to score more points than justin jefferson this year i can't believe justin jefferson is now like alan robinson or something like it's just such a bummer that he's in a shit shit situation i know he's better than alan robinson but like it's just a bummer yeah starting to get very concerned about the vikings offense um the the jags offense craig that's a great point that the volume isn't even there yet and they're still being really efficient i think the other thing that's fascinating and really useful if you drafted parker washington or picked up jacoby myers on the waiver wire this week is they're kind of focusing their route share and target share on those two guys jacoby myers and parker washington and brian thomas jr is playing like 30 to 40 percent of the snaps and this josh cameron guy is playing like 30 40 percent of the snaps so it's like parker washington jacoby myers it is crystallized into those two guys travis hunter is not even really playing on offense i was gonna say the jags if they had taken mason graham instead of travis hunter the jags would probably be a super bowl favorite i mean he did have a pick in the end zone the other day he's making plays he's useful player but i think it was a donation for the idea the idea that he is this you know player that you can't like the value is you can't even talk about the value because he plays on both sides of the ball like obviously that's not happening yet but um yeah the jaguars are incredible and i think they're doing it with that really huge contributions from travis hunter brian thomas and the first run pick they gave up in that trade is pretty remarkable the next game that i think is pretty great this weekend is the kansas city chiefs undefeated we're at the undefeated las vegas raiders oh what a game what a game really fun game i my one stat for this game is that the chiefs and the raiders both lead the nfl in points scored off play action passing they're first and second the raiders have the most points in the nfl off play action and the chiefs are second and the chiefs are using play action more in the second and the chiefs are using play action more in the nfl than any uh team to the point where uh nate taylor at espn had this great stat that kansas city already has more touchdown passes on play action in three games than they did all of last season ken walker baby ken walker and it's cliches are cliches for a reason like ken walker like yeah they established the run and they have opened up the passing yeah as everyone has said they would but the chiefs actually have done it and so this will be a really fun game and i think this is a great example i mean i don't you know i think we see in a lot of teams now it's not like a secret but this is the difference that it makes to have a truly elite running back versus like a ho-hum league average running back is ken walker so good he's you know beating he in terms of broken tackles he is lapping the field it's crazy if you look at some of the charts you know they'll have like broken tackles versus yards after contact or whatever and ken walker is way way way out there like in the top right corner everybody else is bunched together like what he's doing is truly special um and it's totally changed the chief's offense for the better it's like the whole reason they went out and got him made him a huge priority in the offseason it's and i feel like we've all completely just forgotten the fact that mahomes is coming off a torn acl that's like not a story yeah it's not even a thing he looks yeah mahomes looks good and again i think this whole this whole i i actually think this particular game is interesting to me because i think it's a lot of the free agents of the people who matter the p the players that these teams brought in obviously i mean eric b enemy also coming back and replacing matt nagy for kansas city has been massive for their running game in addition to ken walker but you look at the raiders and all the raiders that matter in this game to me are the free agents because you're gonna have like quay walker nicobe dean at linebacker and travis kelsey and then i feel like i don't know taryn johnson might be in rishi rice you're gonna have again max crosby and quitty pay who they signed is going against khalil benson who's still there's still an undrafted free agent rookie left tackle blocking from homes because josh shimmons the left tackle has a bulging disc in his back so i i i don't know the raiders obviously been coasting on turnovers and their defense isn't that good but hard not to root for the raiders i you know what i mean it's quite the turnaround so they're super likable really fun uh and i would play everyone in the game all right now we're going to each give you our favorite touchdown scorer for the weekend dk who's your favorite touchdown scoring bet of the weekend i'm gonna go with debo samuel the 49ers san francisco 49ers against the broncos this week i just love the 49ers offense they are clicking um pretty has been awesome and debo samuel has been a big part of this offense um they're pretty banged up and i think they're going to try to force feed him the football he's the healthy little bit now which is kind of crazy i know and he looks spry he looks fast he does i think he reached 20 miles an hour in this last game he had an 80 yard scamper on the hook and ladder absolutely so and i think also great bet is 80 receiving yards for debo samuel no catch with no catching yeah you would have made a lot of money on that right can we do that again this week can we make that a parlay same game parlay debo zero catches zero catches also 80 yards is there a hook and ladder option on fandle i'd love to just bet what every week that there will be a hook and ladder we can get that at fandle fandle please let us know please give us hook and ladder options by the way i'm doing debo but kittle also a good bet for a sprinkle of kittle mine is going to be parker washington the receiver on the jags he's plus 135 to score a touchdown this week we talked about it a little bit in our show parker washington is just not running a lot of routes because the jags are not running a lot of runs because the jags are not running a lot of runs because the jaguars are winning too quickly now they're playing the bangles i think this game's going to be close it's going to be a shootout he's going to be running like twice the amount of routes he normally does and he is by far the best receiver on the team so i like parker washington to get into the end zone mine is patrick mahomes i feel like patrick mahomes is kind of going to start rushing i know remember that guy but the chiefs are playing the raiders they're both undefeated and i feel like mahomes i mean he made a statement like the first chief scoring driver the whole season mahomes decided to just run in and i feel like mahomes is going to like get scrambling in this game they've been doing a lot of play action and i kind of feel like they're going to be like you i kind of want to parlay mahomes uh kelsey and brock bowers i feel like they're all going to score so uh but i just think mahomes at almost four to one is like yeah he's i know with the acl but he's he's i just think he's going to run in this game check out our bet in the app before this there's this as you celebrate the game take a deeper look at its roots the people grow in the grass they even the lots weld in the goal posts inspecting every football the hard-working people that make every sunday possible carhartt is proud to outfit the crews behind the game visit carhartt.com slash join the trades to learn more i want to go to the next uh bucket here of games the next category which is um games where both teams are coming off an absolutely horrific loss both teams and it means one of them will once again i feel fucking terrible for whatever reason there were like nine teams last week that just had a real like stare in the mirror like existential loss and this there are unusually high emotional stakes for four of these games and i want to start with the los angeles rams who just blew a 16 point lead to the broncos on sunday night football yeah are at the philadelphia eagles who just lost by 20 points to case keenum yeah look on the horrific loss scale the rams is like a two and then eagles is like a nine but totally um the yeah i because this is funny because the rams i have no doubt they're still good especially when they're healthy um the eagles i'm not as sure are good but this is going to be a telling game i think to see how the rams play and how they bounce back my one of the rams lose their one and three i know that's and that's a problem you still have miles garrett injured you know i think aaron donald has been good but maybe not the game changer yet that that he could be um they get puka is coming back and supposed to play in this game so that's huge um but i want to say the one thing that i want to say is that the rams are still good and they're still good and they're one stat that i kind of stood out to me and i think this has been apparent watching them play is that davante adams still has it he is still really good he has a route according to fantasy points wow a route a wow win weight a route win rate wow win weight from woman do they davante adams uh 22 percent route win rate which is second among receivers with 50 plus routes so he has still got it he's still absolutely separating and by the way he did that against patrick sirtan last week he was routing him up getting open you know being the number one receiver for a team that had lost their their real number one receiver in puka nakua um he's just been awesome so i just wanted to point that out like i think after week one i was starting to get really worried about davante adams like he is a cell low he's not even coming in when they're in the red zone he doesn't look like he's in shape all this stuff he didn't really look all that great in week one and didn't really do anything they weren't even playing him that much but now he looks like a true elite number one receiver still which is a massive massive breakthrough i think the third most yards in the league at wide receiver i mean and he could easily have 100 more yeah so that's my stat i think going up against a good eagles secondary is going to be a fascinating matchup they will have puka back which is huge i also rams need to win this game this is like i mean i i would the rams are favored by three this is on the road in philly they played a year ago uh same situation rams in philly early on it was like week two or three and the eagles won 33 26. well that was the one i remember they were rams were lining up for field goal and jordan davis blocked it oh wow yeah that came like all the way that was a crazy game because the rams were up big they were up like 20 to 7 or something yeah the yeah no i i you know obviously there's not really anything novel to say about who you're starting fantasy wise in this game but um i'm gonna learn a lot it's gonna be interesting to see how the eagles offense looks in this game because the eagles offense has been a huge hit for the rams and everything like this is a good rams defense i think mcduffie's been a huge huge get for them he's been awesome um so if if the eagles who are still by the way like one of the worst teams in three and out right um they just their offense really needs to get going or else i don't i'm gonna get start to get really worried about them uh the next game here that it's just two teams coming off horrific losses is the green bay packers are at the tampa bay buccaneers who both just lost in two of the worst offensive performances of the entire season i think they're gonna get really worried about them yeah these are the packers problem these are two teams are like on paper or like when you just look at the names you're like packers bucks that's a good game yeah like tom cruising in a ritu in a movie that sounds good then you watch it you're like this sucks um my one stat craig went to digger by the way or is it diggers or digger digger just singular singular digger yeah um i don't like that title um no it's a terrible title but yeah that movie's not very good very weird movie um cruz is good though my one stat through three weeks the green bay packers have the least amount of rushing yards of any team since 2019. they have 146 rushing yards in three weeks and zero touchdowns sorry can i stat mog you sure because you said last three weeks or sorry last six years yeah packers have the fewest rushing yards in packers history through three weeks since 1933. that is a stat hog uh yeah dude it's a mess chris brooks caleb johnson marshawn lloyd they come they had 17 rushing yards combined last week 17. um again 17. so but they had 10 carries so that's like under six feet per carry so it's like if you just fall down like like craig you're taller if you fell down from on a scrimmage that's more than they're averaging per carry right maybe they should do that maybe they should sign me uh but because of that the packers are throwing a ton the highest passing rate in the league and there is all the like everything that we thought in the offseason about christian watson is happening and more he is a top 10 wide receiver in fantasy and he's playing fantastic he's the wide receiver three like he is he's been incredible and then golden is a revelation and looks fantastic and it just took a year he's the 14th wide receiver in fantasy is always open seems always be open and it almost seems like he's left points on the field because of a few missed deep balls he's very zay flowersy he reminds you i was going to ask you if you remind you of tyler lockett oh i could see that a little bit yeah um i i just like the way he moves is a little twitchier than lockett was lockett was very very fast but don't get me wrong but the reason i brought up zay flowers is just they both move so efficiently and they are just white like craig said they're just wide open that's like what we've seen from zay flowers this year he's like he's just wide open in the middle of the field it's why i think tucker kraft is a buy low jaden reed's now out for probably the year and i think tucker crack they confirmed that today jen reads after the season of the neck injury and so i think look with how much they're throwing the ball and and how talented i think tucker kraft is i think he's a great buy low and then dude on the other side of the ball this is kind of a remarkable thing that's happening jalen daniels is starting this game for the bucks who was an undrafted rookie out of kansas who played six years he was at kansas's for six years he's six one two twenty he beat out jake browning for the backup job for the bucks he played in 49 games in college and and this is just like truly an undrafted rookie free agent who played six years in college is starting for an nfl team in week four it's shocking i mean honestly just that he won the backup job making the roster as an undrafted free agent rookie as the backup as dk said is i i don't know the last time that that's happened playing in sept where i guess it's october now but going to play in october is is so remarkable and i got to tell you the packers i truly think that this is rock bottom for the green day packers in our lifetime if they lose this game and i mean that because if you lose to an undrafted free agent rookie and when you had 10 days to prepare for tampa bay and the packers dropped to one and three and they really should have lost the one game they won like i i the packers it's the worst the packers aren't bad the packers have a two bad season's in like craig and i's entire life it's because like you just keep finding quarterbacks yeah from freaking farve to rogers to love the offensive line though for green bay is a disaster like it's actually insane like i mean jordan loves getting the kicked out of him he has the most pressures in the league by like 50 he's the most quick pressures but which is like plays immediately over by like 50 the if you just look at pass block win rate which is imperfect the packers tackles are last and dead and second to last the guards are last and second to last and the center's second to last it's it's literally every single player has been the worst offensive lineman in the league the fact that the packers are only favored by three and a half points against an undrafted rookie free a rookie yeah that's that's tough it's pretty telling well to that point i was actually gonna ask do you think there's a world in which this is a ewing theory thing i know that maybe mayfield's not ewing level player but like he's been so bad baker has been so bad this year that there's just it's kind of like he doesn't know any of the plays so if you factor that in they don't have a coordinator not bad for nobody they don't have an offensive coordinator yeah um i don't know maybe there's a world in which jalen daniels is like a slight upgrade i don't know just not turning the ball over constantly and taking a million sacks i think the question out of this game is can you play anyone on tampa bay this week i i i have very low i mean emeka buka chris god i would honestly no i wouldn't because that's why i'm i'm playing bucky see i just i just feel like the packers again they're not a good defense they're not a good team but it is an undrafted quarterback i think it's a classic dead dove do not eat there's a world where jalen daniels comes out mobile different quarterback hard to prep for to your i think what you're getting at craig is sometimes the backup quarterback this happens with running backs too where you come in and you're kind of perform better because you're doing exactly what you're told and because you're not necessarily looking at luther yeah like just doing what you're told and like you're seeing mike washington and ashton gentry sometimes you see those running backs where the sixth round guy wins because he's just doing what he says and it's like if i don't i'm not going to get my job there's a world where a booker goes off or godwin goes off but realistically if jalen daniels comes in and looks like an undrafted quarterback making his first start and yeah and emeka buka has one catch for eight yards i don't and you lose like i just i can't go down that way and that's the most likely option how low would you go where you're like would you play denzel boston over a mecca buka yeah i would i mean i have a buka really low this week i have a buka honestly ironically you know ahead of like caleb johnson like the packers running back and marshall lloyd who can't run the ball and i don't think they'll be able to run the ball this week but like you know above them but i think basically everyone has options better than than this week and that you can play abuka because like the flip side is they're gonna design plays to get him the ball like i do think he'll have a few catches but like man i i mean looking at our rankings i i have abuka i mean i would play you know boston digs addison i would play all those guys over him i think it's got to be like the abuka thing's been a big a tough one totally been a big miss for me like and i like godwin i like godwin a lot too it's been a huge miss i thought he was going to be fantastic it's a massive miss they've been one of the most disappointing teams i'd say yeah i would say the people above them it has to be like woody marks or ollie gordon have to be your other options for me to be like you definitely have to play abuka yeah um okay the next game here dallas cowboys are at the houston texans i know we talked about the cowboys a lot i mean obviously they just traded for joey porter jr um but the reason again my one fact for this game is dallas has given up points and half their drives this season which is the worst in the nfl it's tied with the dolphins and the cults like that that's what it's all about and again the cowboys are the same old same old they traded away micah parson said they'll go run defense blah blah it's the same team as ever the offense is great the defense sucks i could read you a bunch of stats spoiler they're all last or second to last success rate scoring rate like epa per play it doesn't matter the defense sucks you know that and they traded for joey porter jr they'll try to fix it it won't fix that much and so like again they're reacting to the quickest that you have one hand the cowboys just give up the quickest scoring game losing drive of all time and on the other hand demico ryan's decided to give them a 15 seconds to get a field goal instead of like 50 so it's this is the coach battle off between cowboys and texans and again if the cowboys lose they're one and three but if the texans lose they're oh and four like this is like f the aaron shots back to the wall a lot of people pick the texans to make the super bowl and they might start oh and four yeah the big difference is that nico collins is likely back in this game and they see the texans seem to be a completely different offense when he's playing yes and again it's it's they just again they're relying on the defense to overcome the offense they're relying on the passing game to overcome the lack of a running game like and nico collins just has to come in and be the guy so i would certainly play nico collins unless you have like a really stacked team this week because they just have to force feed him the ball oh you have to play nico collins of course and i would still play dalton schultz but yeah the this is i i kind of do think nico should run through dallas like knife through butter i don't also assume jerry porter jr is not going to play much for if at all i don't even know if he'll be active for this that is a good question i wonder they'll probably plug him in yeah maybe i don't know i mean it's thursday it's even he's still probably on a plane right it's even there tough he's got a back injury he's probably rehabbing his back that's a good point he's got to fix the back uh the other game that again just absolutely horrific losses is the chargers who just lost to the bills even though the bills turned the ball over five times and the seattle seahawks who just lost to marcus mariotta yeah um my stat for this is that madison beer famous pop singer has 15 15.1 million monthly listeners on spotify so good for her she's doing great uh she's famously the fiancee of justin herbert also she may be yoko ono for justin herbert's playing career um i don't actually believe that oh you know just blaming blaming the the woman what about have you heard the theory that travis kelsey is the yoko ono for taylor swift i have not let's hear it well have you listened to her music lately people think that no her and travis kelsey has has affected her ability to to song she can't she can't like yeah she's like too happy now yeah she's actually happy and therefore not a good artist anymore um yeah maybe that's look look maybe justin herbert's too happy he's finally getting laid a lot um you know yeah finally i think he was probably really struggling yeah finally i don't know just so tall and ugly i don't think it was by i think it was my choice i don't think i think he could have if he wanted to um no but actually the real question i think i have is it does mike mcdaniel kind of stink at this like why we were so excited about him coming in like the run game that he could provide for this team and um i guess like just looking at what he was able to make from chicken like he was able to make chicken salad chicken in miami in a lot of ways like the two a thing but all basically every number you look at he's like he's got like he's got like he's like he's got like he's got like he's got like he's got like he's got like he's got like he's got he is his numbers are down this year compared to last year completion rate is down by seven percent success rate down by seven percent his pass rating is down by 20 points 20 percent um pressure rate is up the the run game is not working whatsoever they have like this three-headed backfield none of them can really get going um the the chargers i mean i maybe this is not surprising to you guys but i it was just kind of weird to see it in dvoa they are second to last only the dolphins are i i think the thing with the mike mcdaniel offense is i don't even think we're at the point we could even say the offense is bad they couldn't even install the offense they want to run which to me is the real red flag and what i don't understand about what happened with the charges this year is like two weeks ago we almost didn't talk enough but fumbling five times in a game is insane and we it wasn't it wasn't the biggest story of that game because the charges only got lost one of the fumbles the american hampton one but the fumbles are like you know the receiver comes in motion and the ball snapped and the ball hits trey harris who's in motion as the receiver which is stuff you see in like high school it's like justin herbert's like pitching the ball and the pitch is off and it's like those are things that when you are professional teams they're actually you do need to work to like get you see them in high school and not the nfl because like you're like oh it is actually like how do they never hit the receiver in motion with the snap and you're like well they work on it a lot and it's really weird yeah the choreography and when those like they make so many mistakes on those elements like all starts delay games the actual things leading up to the play are so sloppy that i just what happened all off season i don't understand why this offense was installed so sloppy so poorly it looks like they haven't been practicing by the way the offense is the best unit on the team the defense is arguably just as bad and the special teams unit is 29th in dvoa so they're 26th on offense 25th on defense and 29th on special teams i guess the defense is technically a little bit better one real criticism for jim harbaugh like if i could give jim harbaugh choose serum is bad right now yeah the thing i don't understand about this entire chargers experience is that the chargers have never under jim harbaugh looked like a jim harbaugh football team jim harbaugh turned stanford into a power ass kicking run team like he turned stanford into ass kickers the 49ers had like some of the most mauling guards and the run game for the san francisco 49ers was so overpowering and such dominant offensive lineman and the chargers on the interior center and guards and defensive tackles have been soft they've been they've not been able to just go and get third and one run power or stop the run and i just don't understand the deprioritization of the interior offensive line where they've tried to just throw big bodies for no money and the defensive tackles have been weak and so you're lying on khalil mac outside and they're trying to like nickel and dime the lines and i don't understand why the trenches outside of slater and all have been like so deprioritized bad luck with the center this year but like there's they're the defense is i it's terrible unfortunately for the chargers this is a horrible spot for them because they're now going on the road in seattle and seattle's coming off a terrible loss to washington this is a nightmare scenario for like you you'd love for them to be playing the lions and maybe they can put up some points and get back to things but like going on the road to seattle after a loss and playing that defense is a disaster i think the the only glimmer of hope i would offer is that because this scene the defense thing is a separate thing but on the offensive side because a lot of this like i don't think justin herbert's you know from like a physical talent standpoint i think he's good i think a lot of the players on the chargers offense physically are talented and if it's more of just like the offense is taking a while to install i think you could talk yourself into perhaps like halfway through the year they figure it out and they look a lot better i think i didn't look up the stat but it just hit me now i feel like the chargers have been pretty good on the first drive of the game when everything was going well and they were scripted out and they know exactly what they're going to do oftentimes it seems like they can just march right down and score and to me i'm like that that is a little bit of proof of concept where i'm like if they can kind of get their act together where the rest of the game they can kind of you know be coordinated when they're improvising when it's not scheduled maybe this can work out it's funny you say that it makes you feel better that makes me feel worse oh because the charges because i can't adapt as the game because here's why the charges calling works the players work and like they're messy the rest of the game because it's not planned but can that grow but the chargers are tied with the patriots for dead last and scoring drives so you're saying well they get to score in the first drive that means like after the first drive they are unable to score points which is true like at least like it would be to me i would feel worse if like when the when the offensive coordinator got to plan out the first 15 plays of the game and they would just punt every time that to me is like well it's the play calls and the players are bad but but maybe it's just like they're undisciplined but maybe that can change we'll just take a week between every drive slow the game down oh that's good clock management um the the chargers are the well i guess you know look this they have two good tackles but the interior offensive line is a huge problem i think it is just an indication and a good illustration of how having a bad offensive line a dysfunctional offensive line can really ruin everything i mean the teams that i think of right now that i'm when i'm like the offensive line is just making it impossible are the chargers the packers who literally can't run a play because their offensive line is so bad and then the texans line has been bad for like three years they cannot run the ball and it just makes them one-dimensional and it just makes things impossible on the quarterback here's the truth the chargers need to go back to san diego that's the problem the vibes are good down there jim harbaugh jim harbaugh needs passion he needs what is it enthusiasm previously unknown to mankind or whatever he says like when you're a college coach you know what you get a weirdo you get passion from your fans when he was in san francisco coaching the niners you get passion from your fans he's a second-rate team in a city that doesn't even like football have you been watching the padres games those guys that city has fucking fans that that was she was unbelievable against the the cubs they should go back to san diego they'd have real fans 100 100 and by the way harbaugh's first coaching job usd university san diego whoa full circle all right games we i cannot look away from this one is um negatively is the patriots are at the buffalo bills this week which again this to me this is the entire spectrum of quarterback play this year josh allen who's basically just like john elway 2.0 who's been a superhero for better for worse versus drake may and my stat for this game is that the patriots are the only team in the nfl whose offense is averaging less than 10 points per game hi fitz i need you i need you desperately to make me feel better about drake may who i'm starting once again this week in the ringer league i need you to make me feel better can you if uh are we doing the client attorney no if it's fantasy defense what is it uh defense attorneys when the lawyer no it's when the yeah what do we call it pro bono public defender yeah i have to represent drake may you've been assigned the case tell us that justin herbert defend her not herbert drake may publicly defending drake may uh i think his shoulder might be just hurt and so he's got to adapt to that it's um report now he has a shoulder injury on the i think i know they did put him on injury report fascinating turn of events it's almost as if the injury report's fucking bullshit uh perhaps perhaps i love that mike evans is a different injury to list him with so the hips feel healed uh the offensive line is just an issue like they lost mike and when and then they lost greg vineroten who replaced him i don't know if that makes you feel better so that's just kind of an excuse uh hmm things you know maybe drake may is 23 and lost the super bowl and that really crushed his spirit and he's trying too hard but maybe he got over that this week okay so uh no i do think the really the real answer to you is i think time heals all wounds you know and playing the seahawks is is very hard are you saying that i should start daniel jones in london over drake may no no i i think that here i do think that this is i i think it's about a couple things but i think what might to your point the most optimistic thing is i i would look at actually what mike vrabel said this week which is i i thought it was a really good analogy he said i golfing you want to make a good score and then sometimes you're so focused on that that you actually like start trying to choke the life out of the golf club and he said and he's like we're squeezing the fucking club so tight that the ball goes sideways which is a very real thing in golf like if you are holding the club too strongly you can't swing well and mike rabel this is a quote he said we need to stop trying to choke the life out of every single play we need to relax we need to settle in and go play football and try not to force things that are not there and quote and so the answer to the drake may thing is as bad as it's been thinking played fine versus the seahawks in that first game for the first two thirds of the game he threw three picks all three picks were in the fourth quarter when he's trying to do too much like the goal line third and goal he could have just threw the ball away and like he could have kicked the field goal and it would have been like 14 to 6 the game getting out of hand when drake may is trying to do too much and so it's literally the forgetting sarah marshall too much now you're doing too little now you're not doing anything at all and it's like if he can find the middle ground which again versus buffalo he might have to do because the bills are probably gonna come out and drop 14 points in the first two drives so maybe he's just gonna stop pressing the flip side is i don't know maybe his brain's broken but i think he's gonna be okay i think he's gonna he's gonna have a better game this week and start to improve it would be nice to see the reality is drinkmate doesn't necessarily have repeatable mechanics and if his throws are inconsistent it's because his throwing motion is kind of inconsistent his feet are inconsistent and if he can just literally like you know the whole put your one foot in front of the other like he kind of just needs to do that literally throwing the ball like if he can just keep his feet in control and not try to do too much you can start probably playing better but also not having aj brown sucks and josh mcdaniel's just doing a bad job i kind of wish the patriots would play kyle williams a little bit more every time he touches the ball i feel like good things happen maybe i'm missing i might have missed some plays patriots fans you can let me know if i did but where he's like making huge mistakes but it just it it feels to me like a lot of times nfl teams do this and this is i was thinking about this with the texans where jaylen noel hardly ever plays and i'm like every time he touches his ball he's doing something good what is he doing in practice that's not letting him on the field that's how i feel about kyle williams i'm just like he he provides a level of juice that none of these other guys have and i just don't understand why he's not getting on the field maybe he's just making a lot of mistakes maybe he's not lining up in the right place those are valid concerns but i don't know i just i feel like this offense especially with aj brown hurt has very little juice and he seems to provide it i don't understand why he's not outside of miami i mean like they have the worst receivers in the league like there's no yeah so who's their stars like mac hollins is the it's an incredibly bad roster like i'm talking like a possession receiver if you think if you think about it for a second yeah they have a third string they have a third string guard they like the offensive line's not great like will campbell is probably the best lineman they have at this point and he's beleaguered morgan moses is like 35 you have the running backs of romantri stevenson who's the most fumble prone running back in the entire league and then the receiving core is like better than the running backs and that's probably it it is an incredible lack of talent and then josh mcdaniels is not really necessarily innovated off the problems that like got to them in the playoff run so like you could argue that like drake actually doesn't have as much around him and the super bowl run really disguises how little talent's actually on this offense they really shouldn't have traded booty i feel like he was at least giving them a field stretching element that has aged impossible especially when that's what drake made his best at is kind of the it like throwing up there against man coverage and the zone's hurting him so anyway uh the other game where i can't look away but it's for the opposite reason is it's jets against the chicago bears where again i just now that anytime case keenum's on the field i feel like i just can't look away chicago favorite in this one chicago's favored by three and a half uh yep that still is holding my one stat is that the bears punted twice against the eagles with case keenum they punted twice against the eagles with case keenum that's wild ben johnson was just really cooking and it's kind of funny that like it kind of unlocked everyone like it absolutely unlocked burden who had the best game kalief layman once again had like 80 yards and a touchdown roma dunes had a fine game he should have caught a touchdown um and colson leveling should have had a touchdown and also like basically i had a touchdown like everybody like that you wanted to do well in theory like caught touchdowns really like kalief raymond luther burden colson lovely and roma dunes they all pretty much had touchdowns in this game which is funny we don't i don't believe we know who the quarterback's going to be yet ben johnson was kind of cryptic he said the direction has already been made which is a sentence that doesn't make any sense that doesn't mean anything what is what do you mean he made a direction the direction has been made does he mean i wouldn't i wouldn't be shocked if it was tyson bajan and they actually run like a pretty different version that's like way more mobile based of tyson bajan and they come out with completely different looks and they try to go 2-0 and caleb comes back i here's my is it bad that i don't trust tyson bajan i know everybody likes that guy and i know the bears love him and i feel like he has great pr but like his father his father the arm wrestler uh loves to call it at radio stations bajan has thrown 15 passes in a regular season game in the last three years and so i don't know i'm just like a little bit skeptical that i'll just assume that the offense will be fine with him is all yeah i think it's a good i i think personally if i was he's got good ben johnson i would go with keenum i think the pr is coming from in the house though like they the pr is the bears really like him and they gave him money you know what i mean like if i was the bears i would play keenum again just say look we're going with continuity here we're not going to try and switch up like you know i think ben johnson said there's a reason bajan won the backup job coming out of the preseason and you know maybe he's doing a little bit games and chip and and not saying who's going to start but like i don't know i don't like that you just beat the eagles with chase with keenum with case keenum that quarterback like don't get the gamesmanship also but you know the real the pr with the bajan it is the bears actually do you like him but you know the real story is remember his tyson bajan's dad i was serious he's the professional arm wrestler is he like a navy seal arm wrestler or something i don't know he's a navy seal he's just an arm wrestler like a like a world champion armor he's like the best arm wrestler in the world have you guys seen the movie over the top with sylvester stallone i have not um it's it's what you think it is but sylvester stallone is a is an arm wrestler in it and that's oh i have seen that a long time ago it's kind of awesome so it's probably about bajan's dad so that's why um dude it is crazy though there was one stat from rich rebar that i want to point out that was really good about how much case keenum helped luther burden case keenum threw to his first read 83 percent of the time in week three which is the highest rate in the nfl and williams throws to his first read at the lowest rate in the nfl literally first to last can i can i tweak this cover this is a i get what you're saying but okay i like the idea that we have to fix anything thing where you're like caleb williams i'm like the bears scored 59 points in week one i am talking about luther burden i know i just i know you're right i just have seen people being like is he better than caleb williams and it made me mad but now it's just obviously not i'm just saying like the way they're like caleb is just improvising and doing cool shit and then sometimes it comes at the expense of loser burden which is all i care about god which is quite literally the only clarification i kind of want both teams to win this game i feel like a mom i know i would like the jets and bears to win i worry that kenyan sadiq the tight end for the jets is like going to be dalton kincaid where he just doesn't play enough but he's good i know they have they they've drafted a couple of tight ends high in the draft last couple years mason taylor i think was the second or third rounder second round and second rounder and so yeah it's just like a little bit worrisome that they'll play i both of those guys just a lot i think mason taylor's hurt right now so that might not matter right now but yes i think generally you're absolutely right um the jets are the jets are interesting gino's been playing really well yeah and the bears offense generally outside of last week has not been good at all defense you mean sorry defense is what i meant yes so i think theoretically we could see gino play really well again here i'm really rooting for gino i think i think he got you know his reputation took a big hit obviously after how he played for the for the raiders last year but i've i've liked him for a couple years now he's a cx starter for a few years played really well for them he had like an incredible comeback after being a backup for you know six or seven years um and it's just a cool story him back with the jets back with the team who took him in the draft um and he's been if you look at like e-paper drop back all the all the accuracy numbers he's been he's been outstanding so far um and is unlocking garrett wilson you know he's been he's been he's been outstanding so far um and he's been you know and i i just think overall it's fun to watch him have success in new york hopefully you can keep it going this week all right i want to talk about the prime time games they're both kind of sneaky shootouts including sunday night football which is the lions at the carolina panthers which one they just have the exact same color scheme and you're like never see them in the same room oh yeah and uh funny to see them in this game but these are also just kind of like sneaky shootout teams this year yeah my stat for this game the detroit lions at panthers is the lions have scored exactly 31 points in all three of their games so far so they're averaging 31 points per game uh is how the math works out on that one okay um they are third in the nfl in scoring the bills and 49ers are the only teams that have scored more um and the panthers by the way are giving up 27 points per game obviously that's skewed a lot by giving up 59 in week one to the bears they gave up three of the falcons in the last week 21 in a loss to the browns so their defense hasn't been great it's kind of like 59 of the bears totally yeah their their defense has not been great and then they just had to place their two starting corners on ir this week jc horn and mike jackson um so this could be a this has potential to be a real shootout game as you guys said the lions defense has not been good um and i was you know we talked about the jared goff having trouble taking shits on the road thing i looked up his his road splits his home at some point we just keep repeating this it's not real we just have a theory yeah by the way he's been good on the road in the last two seasons at least um his road splits are like pretty even with his home splits well they don't play on the road they don't play on the road well he doesn't play outdoors in the road sorry no but i looked up the i looked up the outdoor indoor splits as well high fits and they're not that stark either really what happens and really where he struggles is against pressure the pressure versus un not pressured is really like the big split i think that you have to look at with goff he's this going back to the start of 2024 his pass rating is 76 when pressured 122 would not pressure when he has a clean pocket he's going to have to look at it again and again and again and and dices people up when it's not clean. It's a real big problem. Just like it's Colin. I get it. A hundred percent. But yeah, I wanted to like talk about the fact that it's supposed to be a little rainy in this game. I looked up the weather splits. I looked up when it's raining. I looked up when he's on the road and the splits are not that dramatic, to be totally honest, in the last three years. If you go back to the beginning of 2024. So maybe he figured out how to poop on the road. Maybe he's in really nice hotel rooms now. Maybe he's experimenting with a bidet. They have all kinds of science now. I think the rain matters for him. He's got the baby hands. Maybe he's taking probiotics. I don't know. Maybe he's got, he had leaky gut. He fixed that. But he does have small hands. I think that's something that I've, it's that we that's followed him around since the beginning of his career. We'll see how this goes in this game. If it does rain. You know, who else is a former number one pick that was had an incredibly historically bad rookie year that has now bounced back, but is incredibly bad against interior pressure is Bryce Young. And interesting kind of in different ways, kind of eerily similar thing. Which is like brush on last week was pressure, pressure, like 30 or 47 dropbacks and just looked terrible in a park as Jalen Coker got hurt, but also just doesn't do well with pressure. I don't think lines can pressure him in this game. I, I don't know. It's weird. These are two of the more injured teams in the NFL. The Panthers are quietly like for all the niners, substation stuff, the Panthers have gotten shit kicked out of them. Yeah. So I, yeah, but I do think there'll be a lot of points, but brushing and golf are oddly similar, even though they kind of have nothing in common. I hope Jalen Coker plays. He's highly, highly questionable. I, well, that's the thing is like, realistically, I don't, it's hard to rank a player like Jalen Coker this week, cause he's been good, but he's hurt and he's on Sunday night football. So it's one of those start sit. It's like, it very much depends on who you have, because if you don't have a good option to replace Jalen Coker in the Sunday night football or Monday night football, then you kind of can't play him. Cause I, I am very, do I'm not sure what's going to happen to Jalen Coker. And you hate to deal with like a game time decision when the game time decisions at like seven o'clock Eastern. Um, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. The Monday night football is the Falcons are at the saints and the Falcons. We talked about this game getting flexed out of Monday night football or something, even like two weeks ago. And then now the Falcons with Pennix look pretty good on Thursday football. So I know I'm like, I was looking at this game and from a fantasy point of view, I think from a real life point of view, this is kind of a dud. Obviously people aren't going to be super excited about this, but from a fantasy point of view, there's going to be a lot of fantasy points scored. Potentially the saints are like the fantasy rainbow strip this year. I feel like the saints are offense defense. Those games are always entertaining. A hundred percent. So here's my stat. And I, and I wanted to like give some context on the Drake London paired with Michael Pennix numbers, because we've talked about how in the games that Pennix has started, Drake London is an outstanding, outstanding fantasy guy. But basically what I found is, and this is not a stat, but I will get dig into the stats. But basically when Michael Pennix is starting Drake, London is JSN like almost exactly, which is crazy. So he started 13 games where Jake London has played in, in those 13 games, London has 139 targets, 89 catches, 1300 yards and eight touchdowns. He's averaging 17.4 points, points per game in a 17 game pace. So that's basically 115 catches, 1750 yards and 11 touchdowns for context. Jason average, average 17.7 points per game last year, 119 catches, almost 1800 yards and 10 touchdowns. So basically he's putting up when Michael Pennix starts, Drake London is putting up JSN numbers like almost a little, a little bit lower, but like almost there. And so I think that's just something to watch. Obviously we want to hope and pray that Michael Pennix does not get hurt because he is unlocking at very least he's unlocking Drake London, but I also think it helps B. John Robinson a lot, just having more opportunities to score. And then, you know, on the other side of the ball, I don't know if I realize this, but the saints, the saints are actually rank lower in DVO way than the Falcons do through three weeks. Cause I thought like the, the Falcons felt like the worst team in the NFL when they had a God, what was the guy's name that they really want? Jack strand. We want strand. We want to demand and Cooper rush, but yeah, the saints are 28th and DVO way, which is actually worse than the Falcons. They're 19th on offense, 29th on defense. This is a bad defense paired with a offense that is not afraid to open it up and throw a bunch. But yeah, overall kind of excited about this game from a fantasy point of view. Yeah. Penix and London are like a, you know, they feel like cars, like the German engineering cars where it's like, they look cool. They sound cool, but they're just like, are always breaking. I feel like that's Penix in London where I'm like, those two guys can be on the field. It's awesome. It's just every week feels like a gamble that like some pipe is going to burn. Right. I was going to, I mean, I Michael Penix Jr. Versus Tyler shuck has to be the most injured quarterback battle of all time between guys who are 26 and 27 years old. Right? I mean, they combined Penix and shock combined at eight season, ending injuries in college. It's wild. But it was a second rounder for the record and Penix was a top 10 pick. I'm just, I'm just saying it's weird that they're too bad. They had eight season, any injuries in college. It's just, it's a funny unlikely. That's is my point. That will be a good game. Actually looks better than it did a few weeks ago. This episode is brought to you by 20th century studios. Whale fall only in theaters, October 16th based on the acclaimed book by Pulitzer prize winner, Daniel Krause. It tells the tale of a diver fighting for his life after being swallowed up. By a whale experience, the ultimate survival story. That's unlike any movie you've ever seen before. Don't miss whale fall only in theaters, October 16th. Before this there's this as you celebrate the game, take a deeper look at its roots. The people grow in the grass, they've in the lots weld in the goalposts, inspecting every football, the hardworking people, the people that make every Sunday possible Carhartt is proud to outfit the cruise behind the game. Visit Carhartt.com. All right, there's a few games this week that just suck. We can go through them. First one is the Dolphins, who are 0-3 in tanking, are at the Minnesota Vikings, who are 3-0. I can't believe the Vikings are 3-0. It's unbelievable. I mean, they're having a great run out here. Kyler Wentz, all that. The defense is doing the job. So I have a stat here. I will spare you guys about Dolphins being bad and Vikings playing well. My one stat for Dolphins-Vikings is that there is a chance that Don Shula, who has been dead for six years, wins more games this year than the Miami Dolphins. What? So this is an incredible find by Dave Hyde, who has a substack. And he wrote this over the summer, but I did not see it until this week, that apparently the NFL used to have a third-place game, like a bowl game. I didn't know this. Oh, wow. And they counted it in all the official stats. And in 1983, the NFL removed these third-place games from all the statistics. But they were very competitive. All the players played, and they were very. It wasn't like preseason. It was a real game. Weird. And so Don Shula has the all-time record, right? Like Belichick's been chasing it. Don Shula's record is 347 wins. But he really won two more games than that. So people, and Dave Hyde, people are pushing the NFL to add these games back to the official record. Give him two more wins. So there's a chance. There's a chance that Don Shula gets two more records, two more wins this season. And so. Oh, fascinating. Will the Miami Dolphins win two games this season? I don't know. They sure aren't trying to. That's unbelievable. That's hilarious. Third-place games? Don Shula getting two extra wins? That'd be unbelievable. That would be crazy. It's like a horror movie for the Dolphins, that they're getting outcoached by their own dead coach. Oh, my God. Yeah. So that one caught my eye. And then Olly Gordon, I know a lot of people added him in waivers this week. I would not play Olly Gordon. Like, you have to be. Not against the Vikings. What do you think is, like, the line. Like, how many fantasy points did the Vikings defense get to score? What would you say? I think the Vikings defense is easily the number one. This might be the number one thing any team is versus any year-all-year. The Vikings defense is amazing. I just want to really reiterate, don't play Olly Gordon. The Vikings don't give up any yards or touchdowns. I think there's a chance the Dolphins don't score any touchdowns in this entire game. But. Over-under? Right. If you were, like, if the Vikings defense in fantasy goes above this number, you die, I would set it, like, 27. And then Justin Jefferson is a low ankle sprain. I don't know what to tell you about that. I don't know if. We need to see more from Tyler Murray this week. His. My intrusive thought last week that I cut was that he kind of had a better rapport with Jordan Addison. I don't know how much they're going to push Justin Jefferson in this Dolphins game. Yeah. He was just chucking balls. Off of his back foot. Like, go up here. You go get it, Jordan. I don't know what to tell you about Justin Jefferson. The next game that sucks is the Titans are at the Baltimore Ravens. Derrick Henry, revenge against the hapless Owen Three Titans. Yeah, Derrick Henry's never played the Titans. This is his first game against the Titans. Is that right? My one stat is about Zay Flowers. Zay Flowers is averaging nine yards per route run. That's like prime Tyree. Three is Hall of Fame. Yeah. Nine per route run. Zay Flowers has only run 25 routes this year, and he has 237 yards. That's wild. Routes. He's run 25 routes. You run like 40 in a game. Right. He's barely played. He's basically played like three quarters, and he has 237 yards in three quarters. And you know what the funniest part is? The complaint we had about Zay Flowers being unable to reach the end zone has been true. Like, he keeps falling at the two-yard line again this season, and it's like if he'd been scoring, he'd probably be the number. He's like. Would be stone's throw for being like the number two receiver in fantasy on 25 routes. Yeah, like, look, maybe he's a sell high. You're obviously not going to average nine yards per route run. But, like, he is another Christian Watson-esque smash this year, Zay Flowers. I missed on it. I was dubious about. I feel like every year we talk ourselves into Zay Flowers. What Declan Doyle is doing with him and how he's scheming him up is working. He does need to score the touchdowns, and that's always the rub on him. But I think the Ravens are going to win this game by 30. I would love to tell. I don't care what the line is. The Titans are terrible, and I think. The Ravens are going to go crazy in this game. Flowers is the. Flowers, if he keeps going, will join the Josh Jacobs, Joe Burrow list of players I hated before the season that were the most important player to have at the current rate. So we'll see what happens. The most important player to have. Also, I think the Titans, in my personal quad box ranking, I think the Titans have zero appearances this season, and they're not going to have one this week as well. I think they're now 0-4. I think they're now 0-4 in what I put this game on any television screen I have. I think this game, the only reason you put it on is you want to watch what Derrick Henry does. But yeah, the Titans have been. The Titans almost beating the Eagles, and then seeing what the Eagles did against the Bears is a tough look, because now I'm like, okay, actually, maybe the Titans weren't very good. Now the Tuxedos are fucked up. I was like, oh, maybe they're kind of plucky. The only thing I'll say is that you have Jeffrey Simmons for the Titans against the Ravens, I think, third string center. Oh, yeah, that's right. I don't even get to play at center. Well, they got the. Don't they have Vega Yoni playing center? I mean, that's bad. That's a rookie out of position. Like, it's his fourth NFL game, and he's at center, and he hasn't played center. Like, that is really bad. I will point out slightly that Tennessee's been pretty decent against the run, and actually, since the Ravens' offensive line has been getting injured, if you look at Derrick Henry's yards before contact each week, it's going down precipitously. It was like week one, a yard and a half before contact. Week three, it's like a third of a yard. So, and he didn't run that well last week. He scored two. He scored touchdowns, but he struggled more to find room to breathe. The offensive line. I mean, again, they fixed the guards, and they let Linderbaum. Like, if you count Linderbaum, they're down four centers. They're down, like, three centers. That's why I think, like, Zay Flowers could have another 237 yards in this one game. Yeah. On 26 routes. Yeah, what else is new? Okay. The last game here that sucks is the Arizona Cardinals are at the New York Giants. I mean, they suck. I don't know what you want me to say. My one stat for this game, these two teams are the least explosive offenses in the NFL. Literally, Cardinals are last. Giants are second to last. Like, they don't have 20-yard plays. There's nothing exciting. Even Jameis sucks now. There's a chance. Neighbors is a buy low. All these guys. But Jameis doesn't look the same. I would love that to change. But, I mean, Scataboo, you're playing. Trey McBride, you're playing. Jeremiah Love, you're playing. And I actually would play Michael Wilson because I think the Giants' defense sucks. Otherwise, Malik Neighbors, it depends on your options. You say McBride? You're playing McBride. Yeah, McBride, yeah. So, I will say this, though. Here's where I've come to emotionally on the New York Giants. Okay. You know in the Odyssey, when Agamemnon sacrifices his daughter to the gods to change the winds so that they can sail to Troy? Yeah. That's how I feel about Jackson Dart. Because if the Knicks win the NBA Finals and the Yankees win the World Series, I don't need to ever see Jackson Dart again. You needed a blood sacrifice. It's a blood sacrifice. The Yankees beat the Red Sox by the largest margin in the history of the wildcard round. The Yankees beat the Red Sox a combined 17-2 The Yankees' best players are from fucking Boston. It's like Ben Rice grew up 40 minutes from Fenway and is a Yankees fan since he was two. And then Cam Schlittler basically fucking hates them. Yankees fan or Sox fan? He was a Yankees fan 40 minutes from Fenway. And then the Yankees' best pitcher grew up a Red Sox fan and now has just decided to be the biggest villain the Yankees have against the Red Sox. And it was absolute belt to ass. And I wasn't even sad that the Giants cut Odell Beckham. I was just like, you know what? If this is what it takes, if there's a chance at Knicks-Yankees same year, then you know what? I don't actually care if the Giants are good. I'll choose to take the two wins. I remember saying that when San Diego State made the national championship in 2023, I was like, unfortunately, whatever happens for the next 10, 20 years, I just have to be okay with it. It's true. I'll sacrifice the next two decades because, you know, I'll never have it again. Yankees fans really needed a win. Yeah. I agree. It's the same thing. They really deserve this. You're not upset. We've talked about deserve. How'd you feel? The Mariners had your manager announced that they were firing him, like himself. He had to be like, I'm being fired. What the fuck was that? No one's made the mistake of thinking the Mariners are a well-run organization, ever. That's never once even crossed anyone's mind here, or at least certainly not in the last 25 years. So yeah, that was pretty par for the course. Disaster of a Mariner season. They were like, you know, a couple outs away from making the World Series last year. And it just didn't happen this year. A lot of shit happened. They only had 12 more wins than the A's. And the A's are like a fake team. The Mariners were exceedingly disappointing this season. And, you know, like, I think everyone was, look, if you really want to ask, people were glad that Dan Wilson is gone. But putting him through that, absolutely classless, terrible, just absolutely ridiculous by the Mariners organization. Um, I don't know. I'm, yeah, I'm wearing their hat right now, but I like absolutely ridiculous season. The Mariners almost make, should have made the World Series into this season. There's this line in the wire. It's like, make me sick, motherfucker. How far we done fell? I mean, that's, yeah. Sorry. It's baseball, but there's still hope for the future. Yeah. Still have a good core. I'm really at odds because I'm, as you know, I kind of support the Los Angeles Dodgers. But lifelong Dodgers fan since a year and a half ago. We had a fucking Dodgers fan. Actually, it's somehow going to get worse But I also like Went to school in San Diego, love San Diego And have a lot of friends who are from San Diego And root for the Padres Before I started to take a liking to the Dodgers I would always root for the Padres Because the A's are irrelevant So I would always be like, you know what, the Padres need a fucking win They've never won LA always dominates them You don't even know that they hate each other So you've got two teams this year Luckily they're not playing each other But if they do in the next round, I'll be really conflicted You have to That's like West Coast Yankees Red Sox You can't fucking quibble Those teams actually hate each other Craig can do whatever he wants Lifelong Dodgers fan I'll be like the Kelsey parents And I'll just wear a split jersey Jesus Christ Craig sending us pictures From fucking Dodgers Going to the Dodgers games this year is just so funny to me I mean, I live in the city It's like the sports version Of some long Lost uncle dies And left you like 500 million dollars You're just like, I'm a Dodgers fan now Yeah I don't know what to do Go Padres It's going to be a really tough decision Go Padres and go Dodgers Something that no one's ever said Disgusting Did you see Cash That reminds me of the Did you see Cash Patel testifying about the bestiality No Why did you do this What a fucking sentence that is The FBI removed Bestiality Bestiality as a disqualifying offense Right I mean, that was like High up on the list of things we got to do Yeah It's like Mason Miller with former A He was on my fantasy team this year The corn thing is sick I like them both I like them both You know, you should just root for whoever's batting Every time Wait, Craig What was the rest of the bestiality thing So they Apparently, if you were convicted of bestiality That was disqualifying as an FBI agent Like it was in the room They changed the rules And they changed the rule That checks out So now if you've been convicted of bestiality You can be an FBI agent They took that off And Cash Patel was testifying about this And then this Republican senator from Louisiana Was basically like Basically like, you know We're doing tough in the midterms here Like, why did you do this But it's like this like Louisiana, New Orleans He's like, why did you do this This is unnatural Why Just like hearing this guy's voice Like Dodgers, Potchers Why would these teams Like, why would you do this Why would you do this And what was the answer I, dude, I can't even It was actually I actually, you should watch it It's surreal The fact that you can't explain it Is disconcerting Because I'm in love with a pig It's so good Anyway All right, Ringer 107 Yeah All right Today's Ringer 107 Is brought to you by FanDuel Again, we're competing against All the other pods here at the Ringer And they changed all the rules Because we won last year And so now All the rules are different We're in second place We're in second place Even though we didn't submit Five picks two weeks ago So I have Things I want to lock in immediately Okay I want to lock in Do we want I want Bills giving six and a half To the Patriots If the Patriots rebound It is what it is But how bad they've looked I don't want to overthink it I just kind of want the Bills Is that a mistake No, let's do it I just, there's so much Josh has been the best Drake May has been the worst Like, make Drake May improve I'd rather, like The other one is I just want to do Ravens Giving 11 and a half points To the Titans The Ravens are going to Destroy the Titans If the center fucks us, whatever But the Ravens are so much better And the defense is good That I just want to kind of bet The Titans can't score 11 points, period I want to do that as well Am I crazy? This is probably really stupid But I feel like the Packers The Packers' entire Reputation of the franchise Is on the line Against this rookie Jalen Daniels I know it's three and a half Which kind of sucks But I'm like Should we take the Packers To win this game? Yes, I want the same thing I know the Packers Is as bad as they've been I agree It's like an undrafted Free agent rookie quarterback Starting in week four You can't beat Jalen Daniels By four I agree I want them as well I'm going to close my eyes And that's it And then the one I'm wondering Is do we want the Jags With getting two and a half points Because I kind of think They can win the game outright For sure Yes, I had that one written down The only one I also had Is I had the Rams Minus three against the Eagles The Eagles stink And the Rams are good And Puka's back I like that And the Rams just lost This is like a prove-it game For Sean McVay They need this The last time they lost To the Eagles a year ago Was like a disaster Puka's back Coming off a loss We have to do a teaser So what we could do Is we could just do Bills And the Patriots And do it over under Or we could do the Rams And then under or something Yeah, we could tease Two things together Couldn't we? Can't we just do like Rams We take the Rams line And make it Rams plus three And we take the Bills line And make it Pick them Can't we do that? Yeah, we could do that There we go But we need We need a fifth bet then Then we need a fifth bet What else? Oh, let's just take the Vikings Fuck it Let's just take the Vikings Give you 10 and a half to the Dolphins are not scoring in this game Why don't you just take the Vikings Lay the points Even though it's Kyler Murray Are the Vikings scoring in this game? I kind of don't want to overthink it Like the Dolphins are trying to lose And part of me is like Until they play I guess they played the Chiefs A little close The Dolphins a little close God damn it The Chiefs a little close last week You care about What about Dallas plus three Against the Texans, no? It's a volatile team Why don't we just do The teaser is Bills Tease the Bills down And the Vikings down So the Vikings have to beat The Dolphins by four and a half And the Bills have to Just beat the Patriots Ooh, I like that So we have So the bets are going to be Ravens covering the spread Versus the Titans Packers covering the spread Versus Jalen Daniels and the Bucs Jags getting two and a half points Versus the Bengals We're doing the Rams minus three You guys like that? Yeah I do More than the Patriots? Sorry, more than the Bills Versus the Patriots? We're doing the Bills We're teasing them down Oh, but you're saying Which would you rather Oh, right, I see what you're saying I see what you're saying Would you rather Would you rather give the Rams six points Or would you rather give the Bills six points? Raheem always says Don't tease through the zero So part of me is like Maybe we do it anyway I don't know Do you want to give six points To the Rams, DK? Or six points to the Bills? Who needs it more? I think the Rams need it more All right, let's do this Let's tease through the zero Because then one of the bet wins Everyone will be even angrier with us Than they already are Yeah, so we'll keep So Bills minus six and a half And then we'll go Just break all the rules and win anyway Yeah I mean, yeah That's kind of our bit So let's do it Yeah, what do they know? We bet on the coin toss To win the whole thing Who cares? Who cares? It's a cheeseburger Oh my God All right All right All right Okay One last All right Today's Ringer 107 Was brought to you by Fandle Odd subject to change Last thing here You ready, Craig? Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to We can't do the whole Danny Kelly, it's your birthday You skipped to the end There was a second verse Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Thank you Thank you Appreciate it How do you feel? Big 4-4 Ooh 44, you guys How's it feel? How's What's that How's that make you react? Well, I feel good You're now in your mid-40s, correct? Yeah Brutal Mid-40s I think 44 is fine I like the number 44 It's a solid, even number Uh-huh 45 is gonna be tough Yeah Because then you're like God, I'm almost fucking On the downhill to 50 What was the Was 40 the hardest birthday for you? Or is there another one? Yeah, I think so 30 was a little weird, too Because you're leaving your 20s And your 20s are supposed to be Like the most fun ever But I will say Can you Actually, I'm curious My 40s have been great 40s are great A lot of people say I don't know if this is cope For people who are just like In their 30s and 40s But I feel like it's common To hear that people say Their 30s are better than their 20s Did you agree with that or no? Yeah In a lot of ways I think like There's Your 20s is fun You don't have as many responsibilities Theoretically or whatever You're like There's just a lot Like the world is your oyster There's a lot of things That could happen It's exciting It's new, everything In your 30s You start to make a little bit more money You start to have a little more stability You like figure out What you want to do with your life So I think there's like some Some of the anxiety of your 20s Goes away, which is nice And then as you get into your 40s Like parenthood is amazing I think that's like the big thing Is like I get a lot of satisfaction From parenthood And just the life that we live now With Calvin, so Yeah, I've loved the 40s I feel like better I think I feel better now Than I did when I was 34 Physically Our beloved Kai Grady Yeah, physically You feel better? Yeah Why do you feel better? What were you doing? I just I think when I was 34 I didn't Know what I didn't know I didn't take care of my body I didn't exercise As much as I needed to And now I'm like Into this routine Where I'm exercising a bunch I'm like taking care of my body A little bit better at least And I just feel better It's good I love that That bodes well That is nice That makes you feel good Yeah You know, I play basketball With guys who are in their mid-40s And it's like They're doing great They take care of their body And it's nice to see That you can like If you are lucky And you're healthy But like if you take care of yourself It can sustain Look at Aaron Rodgers As you get older Like you start to realize It becomes a reality That your body is Starting to degrade Right? Like there's always Like when you're in your mid-30s You're like, oh, I'm fine Like I'm still in good shape Blah, blah, blah But then your body, when you get to be in your forties, you're like, oh, it's actually, don't start like fucking figuring it out it's gonna be downhill and it's gonna be to a point where you can't do anything about it so um yeah and inertia is real i always think about this when i see older people running like a guy in his 70s or in his 80s like on a walk or a jog or a run and i'm like yeah like if you stop you just can't start that again like you just keep doing it your whole life but it's harder and harder to pick it up and begin like if you don't have the foundation which is i will i will say like if you're you know over 40 and like struggling to figure out like a workout routine i think the really important thing that worked for me is like start really slow you don't have to eat it's like how do you how do you eat an elephant it's like one bite at a time start really so here's how i did it this is like my whatever my version of it but i started i gained like 30 pounds in covid i like straight up got way out of shape in covid it was like depressed i went to dairy queen every day and like had blizzards and whatever i started by walking literally just walking a lot not every day but like a lot i'm like dude i gotta get out of the house and you're like i gotta i can't i can't have a blizzard every day i'm gonna do it i'm gonna do a case of dia yeah yeah um no i started out by walking and that like was like your gateway drug into exercise and then you and then from that started lifting weights and from that i've started mountain biking and like you you have to start somewhere if you start too fast you're gonna fucking hurt yourself sure so you have to kind of start slow um and i i like the way that i did i feel like it worked really well because like walking is low impact i i got into running for a while like that's much higher impact i would suggest starting by walking and then you can work up to running or doing you know like a crossfit type deal obviously the crossfit's super high like intensity but like any going to a gym or whatever biking is the thing that i've been into in the last like year which has been awesome um so i don't know yeah you got this is very all very earnest but i do think as you get older you have to figure out ways to like you also figure out a way to like make it a part of your day where you're not trying like it has to be part of the schedule that's my question is figuring out with kids that's the part that scares me yeah i'm like how am i gonna like take care of myself i feel like you know what i mean and then you have like a child you have to it's like for skivvy and i it's like we make a deal with each other where we help each other out so like if she's gonna go run or do exercise or whatever i'll watch calvin and she'll have that time to go do that no guilt and vice versa like if i'm the other day i went and rode my bike and i was like oh my god i'm gonna do this i'm gonna do this i'm gonna bike you know at six o'clock in the evening and she just helped did calvin's dinner she she got him ready for bed and i got home and you know you have to kind of have that trade-off i think that really helps but um i just think working it into your schedule somehow whether that's like a hour long at lunch it's just part of my schedule i have no excuses i go do it come back um just think about how much time you waste during the day doing minecraft and whatnot watching other people watching other people be lazy watching people play minecraft yeah dk have you considered taking probiotic worms like ari emmanuel to stay young and fit no but i have done more probiotics as i've gotten older well the gut health thing is like a real thing maybe consider the worms um we'll see i don't that sounds terrible so the worms they're in little i got worms i found it he's not like chewing worms like gummy worms they're oh they're in little pill capsules that's not the same tiny microscopic worms oh microscopic worms not even a worm do they fix the gut biome or what's the okay yeah good for the guy that's what mike thomas dude that should be minecraft is we should build a mike thomas should build a microbiome yeah he probably there we go that's the new that is the new minecraft he's got the time thank you tk thank you craig thank you to mike thomas son for putting that on youtube thank you to cam and thank you to kill and austin for putting this episode on netflix and all the platforms so you listen to it thank you to everyone for listening email us fantasy court cases we'll litigate your group chat thank you email us trivia questions thank you lauren lauren lauren 80s month half ended and we have a new month a new theme month which is called songs you're embarrassed you love specifically in my mind it's songs you love to rock out to in your car but when you pull up to a light you're rolling those windows up and maybe turn on the lights and you're like oh my god i'm turning it down a touch when when you when you're when it's midnight and you're on the freeway you're belting it out fucking rocking out yeah dk this was your idea so you you can you can make the first submission the my my 101 for this category and it has been for quite a long time is miley cyrus party in the usa all-time fucking banger of a song yeah i don't care i do care who knows it because i am turning it down but i'm telling you now i don't care who knows it knows it because this fucking song rocks this song does rock it's all-time it's your best timer like i'm not afraid to say that oh yeah it's easily it's your best fucking song it's amazing i love it it's like an instant crowd pleaser for like two maybe three generations of people it's just fantastic and there was an amazing remix uh someone put party and bullshit usa and it's biggie party and bullshit in and out with the chorus and it's like one of the best things you can possibly put on in a party dude putting the mixing this song doing any kind of mashup with this song's like yeah you know it's like it's like it's like you know back background music is i think just instantly three times better we really had it with the mashups you know back we were just throwing shit together and it was it was great i still listen to a lot of mashups like i'm a big girl i'm a big girl talk guy girl talk is great yeah um this song is great it honestly checks a lot of boxes because it there is even a little unintentional comedy to it like the lyrics are so kind of ridiculous it's like yeah the start of the song is hopped off the plane off lax with a dream and a cardigan like it's oh and it's also like craig did you hear this song before i didn't know that her dad like her godmother was dolly parton as if she's going to lax and trying to hail a cab sure i'm like but i didn't know that father is famous like what are you doing so yeah but uh there was one that was hard yeah it's it's i there's one like i i used to be super super hardcore into weezer in fact one time i went to florida to see a weezer concert and learned about 20 years later that kevin called me and i was like oh my god i'm gonna be a weezer i'm gonna be a weezer i'm gonna be a weezer at that concert oh yeah um which is hilarious we're like oh you were there oh fuck like i think it was like saves the day and some other band was there um and he was like in elementary school and i was in college but that's neither here nor there um the one thing i remember hearing and it always stuck with me is rivers cuomo who is the front man for weezer who's also like he i think he went to harvard and studied music and studied you know all the musical uh you know uh how to build a perfect song and all that stuff he studied classical music he had he made all these like binders of how to make the perfect song how to make the perfect thing or whatever he was like obsessed with this and he said he was like he's uh i think he said the melodies for party in the usa make it like have filled with rage and jealousy because the melodies are so out of control beautiful and i just think about that all the time when i'm listening to the song i'm just like like musically the fucking melodies on this song i'm just like i'm just like i'm just like that's like when tarantino came into the ringer and he was like toy story 3 is one of the best movies ever made yeah totally it's probably the best movie ever made uh he said out of control beautiful melodies fill him with jealousy i'm just like damn and it's miley cyrus going and the jay-z song was on hands up you're playing my song oh god that's good that's a good one tk i'm excited for the month i'm turning that down if you put if that comes on when you like start your car and your your homie or your buddy or whoever is like in the car with you you're like fuck oh god click that off jordan's driver how'd that get on there all right email us i want more of those i want people to email us their versions of that song too and then also craig people people want the 80s playlist right yeah i do too right get on it let's make that ringer we'll get it for people next week i know i we gotta do that you know we're gonna throw that on there too okay oh yeah that's already did thank you didn't i
