#6 - the life upgrade protocol.

This transcription presents a system for personal transformation, urging men to treat their lives as projects for continuous upgrade. The speaker, reflecting on his own journey from being naive to successful, emphasizes three core principles. First, non-negotiables are essential: scheduled, mandatory actions (like daily content creation or gym workouts) that ensure consistency regardless of fluctuating feelings. Without them, plans fail. Second, growth requires leaving the house and embracing new, often scary experiences. Stagnation comes from routine; new experiences slow time perception and accelerate personal maturity. The speaker argues that success is found in motion, not isolation. Third, actively engineer yourself—fix flaws, learn skills, improve your appearance, and design your lifestyle. This includes strategic hacks like using Instagram ads to create a personal dating pool or starting a run club to boost status. The ultimate goal is to reach the end of a year without any regret, having left no stone unturned in optimizing one’s life. The speaker advocates for a proactive, designed approach to becoming a new, unrecognizable version of yourself through pain, pressure, and deliberate action.

Boys, it's time for an upgrade across all areas of your life. And I'm going to run you through my system for upgrading, for viewing yourself like a project that you're working on, your, your life is a project, your lifestyle, you can design your character, you can design, you can become a totally new person in, in, in 90 days in, in 30 days, you can completely change the way you feel about yourself. Like it ain't over till it's over. You can just one good day in front of the other and you can start to completely change all areas of your life. It's, it's never over. It's small little steps to becoming something that you don't fucking recognize anymore. And I came up for the idea for this episode, watching my old stories, my old stories archive for any of you that don't know five years ago, I was at 95. I'd never talked on camera before. I'd never had any type of personal brand. And I remember buying my first online course. It was 99 dollars. It was about how to do Instagram stories every day and build a personal brand from Instagram stories. And I instantly took action. I bought the thing and I followed it every single day and I posted on my Instagram stories pretty much 90% of days for loss five years. That's the amount I've posted on Instagram. Like it's crazy. And my life's changed a lot. Like I've done four million dollars doing that, not just that, but with YouTube as well and other things I've learned. Like it changed my life. And I go back and I look at those videos of me before. And I was a different fucking person. People asked me, how did you, how did you change so much as a man? And I really have a philosophy on it. And the philosophy is in order to change as a man to change the way your face looks, to change the look in your eyes, you have to conquer a certain amount of pain. You have to become comfortable with pressure. You have to keep piling up these things that scare the share of you and knocking them down and just knock them down and knock them down and do the things that scare you. And you slowly go, go from this naive young boy like I was five years ago to a man. And it's, it's not done in your bedroom. It's done going out in the world, often alone, taking on challenges. You don't think you can complete and showing yourself. You can. And that's what this episode's about. So let's kick it off with number one is non-negotiables. Nothing in my life that happens consistently. Actually don't me rephrase that. Everything that happens in my life consistently is a non-negotiable. If it's not a non-negotiable, if it doesn't, if it's not scheduled, it's not planned, it doesn't happen. There's no falling into riches. There's no falling into the best physique of your life. There's no falling into social media success. There comes off the back of a plan. It comes off the back of turning up to that plan and schedule religiously and never missing it. And that is the non-negotiable in your life. You should have a set of non-negotiables because they are your standards and your life. Does not raise to your, I think it's it, your life doesn't raise to your dreams or whatever. It's it falls to the quality of your standards. And that's what the non-negotiables are for. They're the things that if you complete them in a day, you can think of that day as being a success. And that's good because you're not going to want to do it every day. You're not going to want to turn up. Non-negotiables are the architecture behind your life that keeps it consistent even when your feelings vary. The worst thing you can be as a man is somebody that goes, I'm going to do it when I feel like doing it. Whether it's the gym, whether it's content, whether it's business, you're not going to feel like doing it. A lot of the time you're not going to feel like you want to do the things that are going to improve your life. And if they're not out on a list, if they're not the things you tick off every day, they just simply don't get done. We've all done it. We've had those weeks in our lives where we go, I'm going to change everything this week. I'm going to be better. And like the seventh day comes and you're just like, ah, I don't know, I'm not really feeling that motivation anymore. I'll come back to it. That's how you remain complacent. That's how you remain stuck in your life. So non-negotiables for my life, one of the biggest ones for me, my hardest non-negotiable, I'd say, is my content schedule. My content schedule has to be hit. And for anyone that's building a personal ground or wants to build the kind of brand that I've built, your content schedule is your fucking Bible. If it's not on a content schedule, it's not getting done because there's always going to be hard to make. It's always going to be more uncomfortable to make and post a video. Then it's going to be to not make and post a video. And you've got to understand that and there's going to be many, many, many, many days that you do not want to do it. And there's many days for me that I do not want to do it. But if you have the schedule and the schedule is your Bible, the schedule is non-negotiable and you have to turn up and you have to do it, that's the only way it possibly gets done. And it's the same with the gym. You don't say I'm going to start going to the gym. You say I'm going to go to the gym this many days a week, do this workout at this time. And that's a non-negotiable. I go no matter what. It has to have big consequences in your head and your confidence to not to not turning up on one of those days. It's one of those things that it has to be hit to feel good as a man. You have to do it. If it's not planned, if it's not on the schedule, if it's not non-negotiable, there's no point even trying. There's no point even doing it. Get it scheduled in for your training, your nutrition, for your work, for your sales cause, all the things that you know have an outsized benefit of your life. You identify and you make them non-negotiables. You make them the things that you turn up and do. You make the 7 a.m. wake up something you hear every day. You know meditation makes you feel better. It's a non-negotiable. You do it every day. You have to hit six workouts a week. That's what we've got inside a 90 day savage in 90 day savage challenge. Six workouts a week. You're fucking turning up from or you don't complete the challenge in 90 days. One workout missed. You go back to day one. Simple as that. That's how non-negotiables work. For me, I do three YouTube videos a week, one podcast of real every single day. I don't sleep until those things are done. I've lived my life where I had no schedule, where I had no non-negotiables. Surprise, surprise. I took the easy option and I've started to get worse. So non-negotiables, if you haven't got them now, I would recommend you make non-negotiables for your life across your finances and your work. So a non-negotiable could be, I saved this much money a month. I apply for 10 jobs a day until I get my first job. I do 200 coal calls a day to try and build my business and I have to get it done. Create your non-negotiables for your finances, create them for your personal brand, create them for your nutrition, create them for your exercise, create them for the sessions you're going to go in here. If it's not a non-negotiable in your life, if it's not written down and ticked off every day, it just doesn't get done on a long enough time for him to see success. So that's why non-negotiables are needed. Number two is you have to get out of the house. Success is not found sitting in your bedroom. As much as books are good and saw videos and podcasts like these, the things that really change you as a man that really change your life, you find them outside. You find them in crazy places that you didn't think you'd find them. You find them with people. Every breakthrough version of me has been from motion. It's been from doing something that's scary. I even give you an example of the last few days. If you follow my Instagram, it's Jack Hopkins. It's my IG. If you follow my Instagram, you will have seen. I've been out on the motorbike, the Dekati shooting content, like four in the morning, sometimes waking up at four, going out because it's colder and Dubai, going doing these crazy content shoots is for a new cinematic video that should come out tomorrow for I day. Let's see how it goes on the edit, or might be a different video, but I think we can get it done. But it's going to be a crazy video. And even though those things seem so fun to everyone else on the outside, and they are, I even get resistance to getting out of the house. And I've been all over the world. I'm a confident guy. It's always going to be easier to stay in your house. And for me, when I feel that comfort, that ease in us of staying in, of relaxing, when someone wants to go and do something, I think to myself, if I want to stay in, if I want to hide from the world, that's exactly when I go out. If I want to go out and be around people and be a bit crazy all the time, that's exactly when I stay in. And that's what I know about myself. It's like if I'm feeling fear towards going and meeting someone or going to a new meeting or even meeting a girl, because if meeting a girl can be a stressful experience for most guys. Like guys, I know often line updates and then just don't go. They just never go on the date. Now, you ever going to find something that changes the way you think or gather some experience with this in this world without leaving the house. Every point in my life that has had massive changes involved doing something I was super scared of and getting out, getting out and about Thailand, moving to Dubai, traveling Colombia or America. These things, these trips, I was saying to Max the other day, he asked me and said, "Why do you seem so mature? Why do I not feel like I'm mature above my years?" And I explained it to him. I said, "When you do the same thing every day, turn up, work, clock off, go home, same people, same weekend, time, Construct doesn't feel as long. That's why I use year in a 9 to 5 can pass in the blink of an eye. Because your routine is so mundane, the pathways for that routine are already decided. There's no variation, so there's nothing for memory to cling onto. New experience slows down time. The more new experiences you have, the slower your time becomes. The more experience you gather, which means your years are longer. You age more in your mind because your time was slower. So for me, when I first moved to Thailand, the first one month in Thailand, so low traveling, being there alone, finding my first place to live, fucking my first Thai girls, that felt like two years. I felt like I'd matured two years in more month. I've been doing that over and over and over again. I genuinely feel like with the things I've done, I've lived four lifetimes in my mind. That's the power of new experience. That's the power of getting out of the house. And stagnation in your life. When you become a bit stagnant, often if you're a high performer, you can hide it behind the word discipline. I could say pretty easily, "I'm too disciplined. I got all my workouts and stuff like I can't come and do the bikes in the desert and race bikes and I can't go and do the weight board in and wake up at 4 a.m and do the new shoot." But maybe it was just because I was a little bit nervous, like anyone else, to be around new people, to do new things. And that's what we have to identify ourselves. The world opens up to you only when you're in it. You can only accept opportunities and opportunities can only find you if you're out in the world. If you're doing something, a movement is not just energetic, it's creative, it's social. If you're stuck in your life right now, you're probably stationary. If you're bored, you're most certainly stationary. You do the same things all the time. Your life doesn't become interesting without you making it interesting. You have to non-negotiably make your life interesting. You build a beautiful life. You don't fall into one. You're not gonna trip and stumble into riches. You're not gonna trip and stumble into this magnificent life. It's done by design. Life style design is how you build your life. That happens by deciding what you want and going and making it happen. If you look at your life right now and you're like, "Oh, I've got no skills. "I'm not an interesting person. "Why?" Because you haven't decided to be an interesting person. In one year's time, you could be a fucking interesting person. You have to decide. You build it. You're not given anything. You have to build it from the ground up. You decide, "Oh, I wanna learn guitar. "Start learning guitar." Now you've got a skill. You wanna learn coding. You wanna learn AI. Learn AI. You wanna learn personal brand-stop making films. You wanna get great in the gym. You wanna learn to fight. All of these skills, I really believe in skill development as a man. When I was starting out and I was still working on my non-tap hours, like, "What kind of man do I wanna be? "I wanna be able to write motorbikes. "I wanna write jet skis. "I wanna write them well. "I wanna make videos. "I wanna be good at talking. "I wanna have an incredible physique. "I wanna be able to fight. "I wanna know how to operate guns. "I wanna know little bits of other languages. "And you gather the skills. "The skills make the man. "Because on the way to getting those skills "you have experience. "The experience ages you. "The travel ages you. "When you decide to climb the mountain, "you are not the same person when you get back down. "When you climb up and you do something difficult "on the way back down, a different man arrives. "Your job is to increase the speed of that process "to as fast as humanly possible. "In one year with the right challenges, "you can gain decades worth of experience "compared to your old life, your mundane life. "So take the jump, take the fucking risk. "Go and do some cool shit." And number three, final one, engineer yourself. It's not decided at birth the way you're gonna look, the way you're gonna dress, the way you're gonna be accepted by other people. You'd be surprised how quickly you can turn the project of yourself around. When I started out, I was super fucking pale. I had terrible teeth. I had these two moles on my face I didn't like. I now have none of those things. My skin's tanned. I have straight teeth. I have no moles. I've engineered myself over time. My body is considerably better than it used to be. And people told me, "That's just you. "You look fine. "You look good." My life has improved so much since doing those things. The amount of attention I get from women, the way people comment on the way I look. You have to engineer yourself. You have to look after yourself. You have to figure out how do you wanna dress? Build this character. Look at your flaws, the things you don't like and fix them. There's nothing wrong with that. Because over time it compounds, you're like, "Okay, I wanna look better. "I look tired as fuck. "I'm gonna sleep more. "I wanna get a good physique, non-negotiable gym. "I've got bad skin. "I'm gonna start some skincare. "I wanna be smarter. "So I'm gonna re-books every day. "If you genuinely do that for a year, "you look like a different person. "You go on Pinterest, you find a few outfits, "you like, you start to dress a little different. "What you find is the world opens up. "Then you start to go out and people accept you. "They come towards you, they're drawn to you. "No matter where you're at right now, "you can make those changes in your life. "You can engineer yourself." And that's one of the things I did with sobriety, going sober. It's sobriety as design, not restriction. I'm not sober and depressed. I'm not sober and thinking, "I wish I could be out drinking. "I'm sober and thinking, fuck me man, I'm proud of myself." Like this is awesome. I've got so much more energy. I'm doing so much more. I'm staying on top of my non-negotiables. I'm doing the things I said I was gonna do. I'm becoming this person. I designed that into my life. I looked to myself last year, I said, "Jack, you're doing good bud, but you can do better. "What do we get rid of? "What do we add?" Okay, we get rid of alcohol. That kept you under your potential last year. We get rid of fucking alcohol. This year I genuinely think 2026, when I get to the end of 2026. At the rate I'm going now, I will look back on 2026 and say there wasn't another fucking thing I could have done. There was not another thing. There was no leaf left unturned. I did it. I went for my fucking all-out capacity. And that's scary. A lot of people avoid that. They prefer to live in a world where they go, "Oh, what if I never really tried?" So I guess that means I could have been great. I don't want that. I want real world results. I want to see how far I can take it. And that's what I'm doing this year. That's 2026 for me in a nutshell. I'll get to the end of the year and go, "Fuck me, there's not another thing I could have done. "I might have more experience now "and do things different next year, "but man, I'm working it. "I'm just going for it." There isn't a day left unturned. I'm racing to it and I'm loving it. And you have to do that for your life. You have to optimize your life and optimize and engineer yourself and understand that you, your life, everything about the world you live in now can be engineered. I give you boys a bit of a hack. I would read the book The Setup by Dambolzerian if you've not read it before. Fantastic book about how he set his life up. Now I'm not saying B, had a nest dick and drink a load of alcohol and take drugs and there's a large part of that book. The thing I'd like you to take from that book or think about what you're reading that book is how this man has designed his life to win the game. You can design your life to win the game. You even look at it for things like women. Like a lot of people, they just have never set their life up to win. They don't realize that there's hacks to the game. Like if you want to meet a lot of women, there's so many ways to do that that are not just dating apps and tindering and trying to go on dates or meet girls at bars. Like if you set your life up properly, you can be surrounded by women. In Thailand, I had three tire assistants, hot models. I pay them like $500 a month each. Just to come and work for me, it being some content every now and again, easy. Now I'm friends with three hot models and now they like me and they like hanging out with me. They think I'm a cool guy. So when I wanna go out and do other things, I say, "Oh, bring some friends." They've talked up about me to their friends. Now I'm surrounded by hot models. Very, very simple use and allocation of resources for the gain of what I wanted. Most people would never think that was possible. They play within the rules of society. There are no fucking rules. Rules are just imposed on you by other people. Other thing, this one's a fucking mega hack. You go on your Instagram. You don't wanna play dating apps anymore. Go on your Instagram, get your best photo, boost it on Instagram. So let your target demographic as women in the age range you wanna date in your current city. Your picture will now come up on their profile only to women within the age range you want. In your city, you put $500 ad spend on it for a month. You get shown to 50,000 women in your city. Every like you DM. Every comment you DM them. Just send them the name of the city question mark. You're under by? Yeah, so you like my picture. Cool. You've now just created your own dating app. Except it's only you on there. And only women that are interested in you first. It's another way you can win the game. You wanna be the high status man. You wanna be seen as the status man. Start with your own. a run club. Star a run club, advertise exclusively on Facebook ads for a free run club with free coffees and advertise put your advertising budget very low, but just set it exclusively to women. Go with a few of your buddies and do a run club and then buy the girls coffee. And now these girls are turning up because you're the leader of the run club. You're 20 to 30 girls that turn up and run with you that you now become friends with. The game's easy. You have to learn to play it. You have to learn that there's no rules to any of this. Now you can really design exactly what you want in your life, but most people have told you this is impossible. You don't understand how to use or allocate your resources. Correctly. So guys, that's about all I've got for you today. There is much more secrets I could tell you about the world of lifestyle design, but we'll save them for another day. FAQs

Non-negotiables are scheduled, consistent actions that raise your standards and ensure success even when motivation fades. They are the architecture behind your life, like a content schedule or gym routine, that you must complete daily to feel successful.

Success and transformation come from new experiences outside your comfort zone, which slow down time and accelerate maturity. Staying stationary leads to stagnation, while motion—like traveling or taking risks—builds skills and creates opportunities.

Identify flaws and fix them through actions like improving your physique, skincare, or style, treating yourself as a project. Over time, these small changes compound, making you a new person who attracts better opportunities and relationships.

It’s a challenge requiring six workouts a week; if you miss one, you go back to day one. This enforces non-negotiables and consistent discipline.

Boost your best photo with ads targeting women in your city and age range. When they like or comment, DM them to start a conversation, creating your own exclusive dating app.

Sobriety is a design choice, not a restriction, leading to more energy, pride, and focus on non-negotiables. It helps you reach your full potential by removing obstacles like alcohol.
