Yes, we're doing a Thursday night mailbag instead of a Friday afternoon mailbag and it is still going to be airing on Saturday, but we're recording it tonight at 10 30 p.m. Eastern if you want to join us live Time for our draft day tips two from each of us Dave give me your two draft day tips Start with the most obvious one the one that applies to literally everybody Know your leagues scoring and lineup requirements before you go in your draft make sure you know if it's non-half full ppr Two wide receiver three wide receiver one flex two flex do you need to start a tight end? Is it super flex? Are there IR spots? How many are there? Can you use them near advantage during the draft? All things you've got to know before you go into The selection process. It's actually it seems obvious, but it really is a great point a lot of times I don't read the rules and it's pretty stupid Number two for you, Dave Most of your bench should be like high upside plays and not safe guys. You don't need a wide receiver six You don't need a third tight end. You don't necessarily need to have two quarterbacks and two tight ends Waver wires your friend for those positions just load up your bench with players who you're happy to carry on your team Going into week one and then reevaluate after week one We all know that our fantasy teams are going to look very different by the time we get to December and January than they do now Use a cheer advantage and just take as many upside shots as you can especially in the second half of your draft Dave says know your league scoring and roster settings and most of your bench should be high upside players So you'll want to hold on to for at least the first three weeks of the season Jamie your two draft a tips You don't have to draft for need you can draft for town or you should draft for talent So once you start to see how your team is starting to shape out You don't necessarily have to fill that second running back spot when a bench receiver could be better for your team You don't have to take your quarterback when other running back depth could be better for your team We had this conversation with our super flex draft that we did where you were telling me Oh, I need a quarterback and I said no, I'm not going to pass on good players because I just need to fill a spot So I think just understand that once you start to see the core of your team come together Make sure you go out and get the most talent that you possibly can Is it talent or I mean you could probably say it's the exact same thing talent or value talent I would look at a draft and say oh, I can't believe this dude is slipped to this spot I know I need an RB 2 the best RB 2 on the board is like Bayesville, Tutan But you know here's Jamison Williams sitting there for me. I can't pass that up Okay, Jamie your second tip You don't have to draft your own handcuffs steal somebody else's Do you prefer that to drafting your own handcuffs one thousand percent? I prefer it. I mean, I'm not going to ignore drafting my own handcuffs if it makes the most sense but I drafted that particular running back or Running backs Because I think they're going to have great seasons not because I'm expecting them to get injured So if I can take that player and then take somebody else's player that I think might get injured or have a better chance to outperform that person I'm going to do that to hopefully maximize my roster And here are my two draft a tips for you number one ignore ADP if you believe in a player especially in the mid rounds I've done the research I've looked at the players that have hit in the mid rounds You're just as likely to have a fifth or a sixth round pick hit as a fourth round pick I mean that might be a slight exaggeration But ADP kind of goes out the window the only time you should really pay attention to ADP is if you definitely feel like you can get that player You want with your next pick Then it becomes a reach but if you're not sure you can get that player Don't worry about what the consensus is saying trust your gut get your guy Number two looking at our fft league This is a 12 team league that we do in the office. It's a really good competitive league It's a three receiver ppr league the last five teams that won the fft league They did not only one of them took a quarterback before round seven a lot of them took quarterbacks that weren't even really that good My point is quarterback is definitely the position that you can wait on Josh Allen might be the most consistent most productive most reliable steady player and fantasy football He might be the worst value in all fantasy football because not only can you draft a quarterback and win you a league A lot of times you can pick up a quarterback that can win you a league It just sort of happens that way in a one quarterback league So if you're just not feeling great about your team you're in round three or four you don't like just just keep waiting on quarterback and you're going to be okay. Dan Graziano of ESPN wrote a sort of like surprising or bold prediction for each team. I went back and looked at his column last year and it was pretty good. He had some good things that were helpful for fantasy managers. He had some misses, of course. But one of the things he said was that don't be surprised if Blake Korum overtakes Kyron Williams at some point this season. You talked about him as a great value that you love. Later things go in '96, Blake Korum. I'm really getting excited about drafting him. When's the earliest you think you'd take Korum? Eight, round eight, and it's with the idea that he can earn more playing time in an offense that could see a lot of run favorable game scripts. We already know about Miles Garrett, Aaron Donald, being added to a really good defense. You forget about the secondary additions that they made. So this could be a team that gets a lot of takeaways and dominates offensively and really just dominates time of possession. And when that happens, you're going to see a team run the football a lot. So Kyron is obviously still the running back that I want in this backfield. But I'm not taking him in round three anymore. He's a round four pick. I went back and I double checked. There were 11 games last year where Blake Korum played at least 30% of the snaps. Any average, it almost nine PPR points for gaming. You'll say, well, Dave, that sucks. I don't want a guy that's going to give me nine PPR points for game. Well, what if the 30% jumps to 40%? What if it jumps to what Dan Graziano is suggesting? And it's 50% what if he ends up being a more explosive version of himself and a more explosive version of Kyron Williams? And if that's going to be the case and we know that Korum has worked on that this off season and there's video evidence of it and Sean McBase talked about it, then this might be the running back to get on the team that could end up dominating time of possession and having arguably one of the best run games in the national football league. I will take that chance in the middle of my draft. Yep. And in those last 11 games when they both were getting a lot of work, the Rams were number one in the NFL in it was either carries per game or running back carries per game. So that set up is still probably both because they didn't have a quarterback that was going to take a bunch of runs. Well, it was definitely running back carries per game. I don't know if it was total carries per game because the teams with the mobile quarterbacks, you know, sneak up their objects. Oh, I see. Yes. Do you love like, think about, think about maybe players that you've been drafting a lot lately. I don't know if I gave you one that I'm supposed to say, you did not. That I've been drafting a lot, January, you know, just looking at the situation for what the Packers are facing right now, I think it just sets up very well for him to be a potential starter in three or three real leagues. I like the fact that from a, people getting excited about him that is ADP is rising. I don't like it that I have to draft a little sooner than I want to. But again, when he's been healthy, he's been amazing, 23 games is currently five targets. He gets usually 13 PPR points or more in more than half of those. So I'm expecting more volume for the Packers. I think they all benefit Christian Watts and Tucker Kraft, Matthew Golden. But Reed is very cheap and should be very productive. Okay. So Monday was the 31st, right? Let's take a look at the 31st through the second of ADP and see where these guys are going now. Updated here. Martian Lloyd is RB28. So it's Bucky Irving, Jardarium Price, Travian Henderson, Ramandre Stevenson, Jalen Warren, and Martian Lloyd, and then Jonathan Brooks. Warren Lloyd and Brooks all have basically the same exact ADP. Jamie, how would you rank Jalen Warren, Martian Lloyd, Jonathan Brooks? Jalen Warren. And then we, okay, thank you Dave, sorry, Dave said the same. And then for Josh Jacobs, he is going 122nd, basically as a handcuff, Kyle Menongai, Mike Washington, Josh Jacobs, Tyler Alger, Jonah Coleman. Would you take Chris Rodriguez or Josh Jacobs? Rodriguez. Depends on what I need, but probably Rodriguez. Okay. I kind of just, I put Josh Jacobs right where I have Zach Sharver, like, maybe he plays at some point soon, maybe he doesn't play at all, we just don't know. So the difference is, and this was a, I got this question yesterday, I'm sure we all have, can you stash Jacobs in an IR spot? And I said no, I got a lot of different replies to that. From wrong people? Well, I mean, look, we could sit here and say from a commissioner standpoint what we would do, if you're in a league that's going to allow it, you're going to take advantage of it. So, you know, there, there, there was a lot of people arguing about that when I said no, you know, that why, why would I not take advantage of putting him in an IR spot if my legal housing? Oh, I'm not. Of course. You just, your league shouldn't allow it. What does IR San Forgan? It, it definitely retired. Oh, okay. Well, then Jacobs belongs, but in pending retirement, it's injured reserve, he's not injured. He shouldn't be allowed on the IR. Yeah. Kirk Cousins is going to be the Raiders week one starter, and Clint Kubiak is optimistic about action, gente playing in week one. So the, the Cousins news is not too surprising. And Jamie and I were asked about the impact of Cousins on fantasy, you know, on, on CBS Sports HQ last night. And I said, you know, he's got over the last two years since he tore his Achilles. He's got the second fastest time to throw or release point like only, only two at Tonga by Loa has gotten. I love it. You had to explain that. Yeah, it's hard. I don't know the best way to say it. Only two. He's not the fastest, though. Yeah, only two at Tonga by Loa has thrown the ball faster. I got rid of the ball quicker than Kirk Cousins over the last two years. It's low a dot stuff. He doesn't take a lot of sacks. Get the ball out. And you have to figure that's going to favor Bowers and Gentie. I would anyway. San Francisco defensive and Nick Bosa could play in week one Mike Evans practice. That's a good sign. Ben John. They all made the flight. Ben Johnson said he needs to get Roma doons a the football because he's doing all the little things to help the team win games. He's talked up everyone. So keep that in mind. Ameca Bucca ran around and looked pretty good. The Twitter doctors liked what they saw. Jacksonville third down back. LeQuint Allen seems questionable for week one. Liam Cohen said he'd be pleasantly surprised if Allen played. He ran almost all of the third down routes last year and had eight targets on third down, so I don't know It's a huge deal here, and it's not a long-term thing Dave Canowas is very optimistic about Jonathan Brooks playing in week one Detroit GM Brad Holmes gave no timetable for Isaiah Pacheco He's hopeful that he returns this season. He says Pacheco is getting better Jacob sailors is currently looking like the number two guys. I've mentioned three shows in a row now The Falcons plan to have Michael Penex Jr. start eventually for them according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL network Baltimore GM America cost the expect expressed optimism about defensive tackle Nambi met a bouquet playing this Playing soon. They didn't put him on IR so he could be back soon He's a very important player for their defense Khalil Shakir has not been practicing, but there's optimism that he'll be ready for week one and Shakir actually had a huge game against Houston CBS are our research team sent out a note about Josh Allen's history against Houston It is bad especially in Houston two of those games of recent two of those games were super early in his career, but I think it's like one touchdown three interceptions in his last two games in Houston and The guy who had the big game last year was Khalil Shakir at eight catches for 110 yards on 10 targets All right, hey here we are with Jamie's updated tears We want you all to have the most updated information by the way Today's a good day if you have any questions in the chat try to save some time at the end of the show some questions last minute stuff for your draft But let's go through Jamie's updated quarterback tears and Dave will critique Tier one is Josh Allen Tier two is the Mar Jackson Drake May Joe burrow Jaden Daniels and Jalen Hertz So again Allen and Tier one and David's a five-player tear in Tier two Jackson may burrow Daniels Hertz If with the understanding that Jackson through Hertz and Jamie's tears are probably quarterbacks that you're gonna look to take between rounds four and seven I'm good with it. I've got Hertz one spot out of Daniels I understand why Jamie has Daniels ahead of Hertz both of them have huge upside both of them tied to rushing I just I prefer Hertz a little bit more. I like the offense stays in a little bit more Certainly like his offensive line and his chances to survive the season a little bit more than Jaden Daniels Am I nitpicking if I say that Allen should have his own tier and Jackson should have his own tier? I just put Allen and Jackson in the same tier Understanding that Allen's gonna go ahead of Jackson and every single draft Jamie's are what kind of differences there between Lamar Jackson and Drake May Joe burrow Jaden Daniels Jaden Hertz I think just you said it earlier that he's just safer. You know, so Allen is the most tried and true fantasy option I think out there with the worst AP I'm sorry if I said Allen I meant Jackson Jackson versus the other four guys in Tier two You see them as basically the same or you see a difference. No, I mean, there's the sliding scale Obviously, that's why one's ranked out of the other but I think as Dave said that's kind of I do it by a by a draft range as opposed to You know where where how I rank them because otherwise you just have them ranked but I think you're gonna see and you should Jackson's gonna be probably around ahead of everybody else, but yeah, you can make your argument down at Jackson Get here by himself sure. All right, so what's what's the best value Jackson for 39th or ever you get lost? Well, I don't know because like I think Jackson's a lot better than Jalen Hertz. I'm willing to take him two rounds earlier than Jalen Hertz Sure, Lamar Jackson my case he averaged 30 points per game two years ago Was the best quarterback was already the best pick in fantasy Then he was even better than that last year before he got hurt scored more than 33 points in each of his first three games Bad game against the chiefs got hurt came back didn't again against the dolphins then kept getting hurt So I'm you know, that's my case He's got to worry at this point is curious. He's gonna run as much, you know So where's where's the ceiling for him because As good as he is as a as a passer I don't want to rely on him strictly as a passer. I need him to be a great rusher on top of it So if we're starting to see a 500 yard rusher comparatively to a 700 yard rusher I think that brings him closer to the field. Be it right. I mean look when he hits he hits big All right next mountain Monkan kind of let it out of the bag this week that last year in Baltimore Lamar got a year of his right hamstring and it happened not while he was necessarily running but just avoiding pressure And that he just wasn't the same after that. Yeah, and so hopefully that leg is healed up and he's able to plant on it And that'll obviously improve his accuracy. I have no problem taking him as the second cubie off the board We have a question does the tier for cubie change if it's a six point per touchdown pass league and that's what these tiers are actually We we do base ours mostly on six point All right tier one Allen tier two Jackson May burrow Daniels hurts. Let's go to the next tiers tier three press guy Herbert Lawrence Caleb Williams that press got Herbert Lawrence Caleb Williams Dave I slightly disagree with the order. I would put Herbert ahead of deck But I would love to get one of these four quarterbacks. This is the next tier where let's say I just miss on those first six I want to get one of these quarterbacks as late as I possibly can So if I'm getting the last of these four and we're talking about maybe round nine. I'm pretty happy with that I don't really think Yes, but I think you have to go to round eight Maybe seven for these guys. So would you take the last of press got Herbert Lawrence and Caleb in round eight We're keep waiting for the next tier If it's late round eight, I suppose it's fine Jamie are you comfortable with that I mean that's not gonna make it to round eight Herbert Lawrence Caleb in round eight or just wait till the next tier I would wait till the next tier, but again, it's knowing your league right because in the leagues that we play in with each other We know that quarterbacks are gonna fall and the leagues that we see where there's You know people who don't do this for a living they take quarterbacks a little bit sooner So it's just a matter of you know what you expect and how you see the the value come off the board and just knowing that Jared Goff and Kyler Murray and Jordan Love and the sliding scale love should be in tier four by the way that's um I haven't updated the latest latest latest latest version um, but Those type of quarterbacks will still give you 20 plus points per game. They may not give you 24 plus points per game So it's just a matter of when do you think the cutoff is and how quickly do you want to wait till the next or how long do you want to wait till the next tier To get a guy that it just has a little bit less of a ceiling The cutoff is the most important point of all We've named 10 quarterbacks so far everybody should be comfortable with any of those 10 But if you start hearing the names that are in Jamie's next year and you go I don't know if I feel good about starting any of those guys Then you need to prioritize getting one of those 10 it doesn't mean you have to reach for them But certainly when you get to this tier of uh for me. It's Herbert Dach Trevor Caleb That's when you should be targeting and just put the Parascope up saying all right now. It's the time for me to get one of these quarterbacks Okay, let's take a look at tier four then again tier three was Dach Herbert Trevor Lawrence Caleb Williams tier four starts with Brock Pertey Brock Pertey has been uh top six per game two of the last three seasons and eleventh per game the other season Brock Pertey Matthew Stafford MVP last year Jared Gough will We keep drafting Jackson Dart who's just really fallen a lot. It's crazy Kyler Murray Bonix and Patrick Mahomes again tier four is pretty Stafford Gough Dart Kyler Murray Bonix and Patrick Mahomes and Jamie. What's your message about tier four It's a great place to be you know if you're comfortable waiting for quarterback It's going to be one of the best Players I think you get based on what their costs could be so again I don't know if there's consistent 24 plus point per game Players here But there are guys that have done it before you know Gough was just sort of that in 2024 Stafford obviously did it last year, but the two years prior was not there Kyler's done it a couple times in his career Pertey's obviously done it a couple times in his career You know, I have Mahomes obviously has done it last year Yeah, he's the one that probably makes me the most nervous just because again the rushing is probably gonna crater And then you're talking about a guy the two years prior when he wasn't running as much was that 20 Under 21 points per game. You know he's 20 points something both those years. So I think again the sliding scale being what it is, you know Just knowing what you're getting and as I said before I would put Jordan love in this tier because when he throws He has been very good. So 2023 when he only earned his career the average over 30 pass attempts per game He was at 23 points per game for over 23 points per game for the season And if you look in his career, he's got 26 games with at least 30 pass attempts Any averages 23 fantasy points per game in those outing. So when he throws he's good and hopefully that's gonna be the case Dave do you have any any critiques on Pertey Stafford, Gough, Dart, Kyler, Bonix, Mahomes, and Jordan love? The the biggest nitpick is Kyler who just hasn't shown us over the last few years That he's still a capable of being better than an above average starter And I know that he's tied to some great wide receivers And of course I'm taking Justin Jefferson top 15 and I love the value on Jordan Addison I'm just I'm nervous with Kyler and I would not put him in the same tier as Golf, Pertey, Mahomes, Stafford. I also think Bonix who is in Jamie's tier I think he's got some huge upside to love the addition of Jalen Waddle in that offense We've seen some huge games from Bonix and I think that team could really be humming this year on both sides of the ball I really think that they're a legitimate contender and I don't think that they're going to be as run heavy As maybe we're expecting them to be I think that they're going to lean into bow more than their run game But Gough is the one Gough and Pertey are the two Who have moved up the most for me this this whole training camp preseason the last month I love Heath's argument for Brock Pertey where you just take his career averages And you apply it to a higher level passing rate and the end result should be really good. And if we're nervous about McCaffrey, then obviously Brockporty can step up. But Goff to me is the biggest riser of all. He went kind of from a fantasy afterthought with a high floor to maybe a top five fantasy QB because he's going to still have that high floor. But the Lions defense is not improved. Secondaries in real bad shape. They've got maybe three good defenders to begin the year for if you include their rookie pass rusher. And I just think that there's going to be a lot of high scoring games. Little worried about the offensive line, but I think the Lions can more than make up for it. They did last year goff to me as somebody who I think could be just one of the biggest steals on draft day. Yeah, look, we still have Baker Mayfield not on this list. We still have Daniel Jones who is terrific last year. We have Malik Willis. We have Tyler Schuck. We're not going to get to everybody. We're going to go to running backs next. But last question, Jamie. Pretty Stafford Goff, Dart, Kyler, Bonix, Patrick Mahomes, Jordan Love. That's tier four for you. Is this basically, are you saying this is the last group that you should feel comfortable with as you're starting quarterback for your roster? No, the next tier would be. So you don't want to have to rely on that because 12 team league, you shouldn't be having to draft QB 16, 17, 18, 19, whatever the case may be. I think Baker's 21. But that being said, Willis could be the best running quarterback in the NFL this year. Schuck was great last year in Kellin Morris history of quarterbacks is fantastic. And so I think you just got to understand, like if you get to this point, you probably want to draft two. You definitely want to draft two. But if you're a little bit, you know, comfortable knowing that there's going to be a lot of volatility, then you wait as long as you possibly can. I just want to want to wait too long for these guys. Okay, let's go to running back tiers then. And we'll start right if the top tier one is Gibbs and B. John, tier two is Taylor Cook, Chase Brown and McCaffrey. And yeah, if you're new to the show, we love Chase Brown. Okay, I don't think any need to stay on that. Gibbs and B. John. And just for clarity, these are half PPR tiers. Oh, okay. Good to know. And that's important because Chase Brown, it feels like he's more valuable in PPR, but he still can be so good in half PPR. All right, Gibbs, B. John, one, Taylor Cook, Chase Brown, McCaffrey's here too. Let's see to your three Walker, Hampton, H and Henry, Barkley, Genty. So that's the top 12 that we've been talking about. Those first six on the first two tiers, tier three is Walker, Hampton, H and Henry, Barkley, Genty. We think it's a good idea to get one of them. You don't have to, but try to get one and don't be afraid to get two. But the question is, Jamie, is Ash and Genty, excuse me, Ash and Genty still in that tier with Walker, Hampton, H and Henry and Barkley? I struggle with it, you know, and the fact that he's expected to play week one, I think, justifies keeping him in this tier. So this was basically the guys, I think, originally, like the first few times I did this, I think this is the third version of tiers. They'll be, this will just be up there. I'm not going to do a fourth version. The, it was easy to put Genty with this group because these are basically the round two guys. I have him ranked 26th overall, you know, so early round three and then there's kind of a big cutoff tier four has changed a little bit just in terms of the ranking, but I think just looking at Genty, no matter how much I think we're going to say safer in early round three at this point, he's still going to be around two pick. Yeah, you know what, let's look at the real time, see where Genty's going. PPR, oh, he's going, yeah, he's going 20th, he's RB 12. I mean, these 12 running backs are other than Genty because people might be hesitant are just so predictable in terms of not necessarily order, but those are almost certainly going to be the top 12 running backs taken in drafts. Certainly the top 11. All right, so then it gets interesting after that, tier four, Javante Williams, Kyron Williams, Travis H Ann, DeAndre Swift, Europe, Jeremiah Love, and Breeze Hall. I just can't do it. Javante, Kyron, H Ann, Swift, Love, Breeze Hall. And the updated order now would be just Kyron behind Swift. So that'd be Javante, H Ann, Swift, Kyron, Love Hall. Dave, what do you think about tier four? It's probably the tier that we've come across so far that I've got the most disagreement with. My tier would have Javante, Love, Kyron, and Travis H Ann. And I would not have Swift and Breeze Hall in that tier. There'd be in the tier below it just because I expect them to split more and not necessarily be in run heavy offensive game scripts from week to week. That's the difference. It's not a huge difference. I would say that those six running backs would be in a group for me, like in the rankings that you'll see Javante at the top. You'll see Breeze Hall at the bottom. It's not like I've got Quinshot Judkins in there, Skatiboo in there. Those guys are going later. So I think that that's fertile ground for RB2. And you should feel good about any of those six being in RB2. I just think that the first four, Javante, Jeremiah, Kyron, H Ann are a little bit better than Swift and Hall. The thing that I love about Swift is Monongai's injury. We don't know how long this is going to linger. And if it lingers into the midway point of the season or longer, he could be a top 10 guy. I mean, there's just that much potential for him in this offense. I'm worried that they're still going to use another running back. Oh, I think that they will, but I don't think that running back will be as good as Kyron Monongai. And I don't have a problem with that. I just still think Swift's around four pick, not around three pick. And we know that Breeze Hall is just a guy that Dave is not feeling this year. So tier four for Jamie is Javante, H Ann, Swift, Kyron, Love, and Hall for Dave. I love a good week one for David who's Breeze Hall. Yeah, for David is Javante, Kyron, no, Javante, Jeremiah, Kyron, H Ann, Travis H Ann. Yeah. And then Swift and Hall would not be just here. But I'll tell you who would be in this tier. And we're going to take a break. And we'll come back with Sears five and beyond at the running back position. And welcome back. All right. We're through what is that 16 18 running backs 18 running backs. Let's go to Sears five and six. Yep, tricky part of the draft. Maybe a part of the draft where you're going to like the wide receiver is better. I think that's something to kind of keep in mind here. We're talking about DJ Moore, Devante, Adams, Terry McClure, and Parker Washington, Christian Watson going this range. But tier five, I was actually going to bring that up when you talking about tier four because that was what that's the group that Heath was talking about when he gets that point. He still sees all those great wide receivers the end of round three. It's true. However, like we love the wide receivers at the three four term been talking about it for so long. Those two that group like wide receivers, I want to say 13 through 18 or something like that was so bad each of the last two years. Last year it was Tyree Kill, JSN was an amazing pick. Terry McClure and Mike Evans, Devante, Adams, Garrett Wilson, Marvin Harris and junior DJ Moore, DK Metcalf. Yeah. So that's and the year before it was bad too. It's weird how that's worked out, but I mean, it doesn't mean that doesn't mean that's going to happen again this year. All right, tier five, at running back, Bucky Irving, Quinshaw and Judkins, Cam Skataboo, David Montgomery, Jardarian Price, Basel Tutan, Bucky, Judkins Skataboo, Montgomery, Price Tutan. I feel like this is almost like kind of a maker break group here, like big, big outcome possibilities here. And like, I've said it a few days ago when I was talking about March on Lloyd or a lot of round five and round six picks are bad. I mean, I went back and looked at the last two years and there's just a lot of bus and you can still win your fantasy league, but the outcomes, potential outcomes for tier five, Dave seem crazy, high to me, crazy, you know, wild to me, Irving, Judkins, Skataboo, Montgomery, Price Tutan. What do you think about that, tier? I mean, it's just like any other tier, you can make the boom case, you can make the bus case, but it's a lot easier for people to see the bus case than the boom case for this tier. The only name that I don't think I heard was Remoundary Stevenson. I think he's earned to be in this tier two. Otherwise, no notes. This is a good tier. Okay. And what's the difference, Jamie, between tier five of Irving, Judkins, Skataboo, Montgomery, Price Tutan and tier six of March on Lloyd, Stevenson, Jonathan Brooks, Tony Pollard and Travian Henderson? More questions in tier six, still questions in round five, but more questions in tier six. And just, you know, again, Stevenson is ahead of Lloyd, so another update that you'll see on the site. I think just looking at the guys in tier six, like we are expecting Stevenson to be the lead guy there, but at some point, if Henderson starts to look better, he's going to play more, and if there's an injury, could we get a Wally Pip situation? Because Henderson is so talented, Lloyd, the questions are obvious. We just don't know if he's going to stay healthy and will he be the guy for however long Josh Jacobs is out? Still a mystery at this point. Pollard and Brooks are the ones they're probably making the most queasy, just because Brooks will see how healthy he's going to be, and will he hold off Tuba Hubbard, who's now healthy and trending toward playing with one? And the Titans just look absolutely awful. So we'll see how that plays itself out. I do think it's going to be more growing pains with the Titans as they get a little bit more comfortable with the double system, but to what extent you're going to buy into trusting Tony Pollard remains a PC. useless pick, you could have where is the upside. And I just want to say that he averaged 100 yards per game in the final five games last year. He did. And he just, he's kind of like Breeze Hall and that he's been on these terrible offences and hasn't had a lot of goal-line opportunities. So the up, the up, I wouldn't use the word upside necessarily, but the appeal is that he's, he could be the lead running back on a better offense and, you know, be a good RB2. I don't think he's got RB1 upside. But I want to say like, I miss the episodes where we could just talk about a group of players like to your five and to your six for an hour. And if you have questions, I, I kind of want to do like a, just a YouTube only live stream. I'll talk to the producers about it, but maybe I'll do it tomorrow afternoon since we don't have a mailbag. No one has to be there, but me, whatever, but I just, I know you have questions and I feel like I would love to answer them. So I don't mind doing something like that. If anybody's interested in that. I think the, the, the, the, the point I made in the draft tips like about taking talent versus taking need, you get to this tier. And someone like Pollard, you could throw the Steelers running backs in there, the Commanders running backs in there, JK Dobbins, those type of guys. They're going to fill a role for your fantasy team. Their upside is kept. Yeah. Barring injury to probably who they share their backfill with. So unless you don't need these players, like this is the point in the draft, you should be pivoting to our receivers because the talent pool is so much better. And so again, your build matters here, you know, so like, if you need it, you know, you go hero RB or zero RB, you're looking at a guy like 20 powered because the floor is going to be probably safe. It's not going to be great, but it's going to be safe. The ceiling is going to be okay. It's not going to be amazing. You're drafting for ceiling. You're drafting Henderson, but the floor is going to be terrible. You're drafting the Steelers guys. It's going to be potential headache. Almost the entire season. If they're both splitting reps, you know, maybe there's touchdown potential one more than the other. Maybe there's more receptions for the other. You get the point. The commander's running backs. Even Jordan Mason, there's a cap ceiling here as long as Aaron Jones is healthy. So you kind of get to this point in the rankings of like 26 through 30, maybe through 40, you know, where you throw in the guys like Blake Korum and you throw in the guys like Mike Washington or you know, these handcuffs that will play, but are never going to be consistently great as long as the starter is still there. So you're going to have to sort of just judge how your build is going and how you want to sort of construct your roster and mostly construct your bench. So I think it's just like if you have a volatile RB2, so like a good pairing, I think could be Bucky Irving and 20 powered. For example, because Irving, we just don't know how this is all going to work out in Tampa with game well and Tucker and is it going to be a committee or you know, Judgins because of the offense that he's on or Scataboo with these guys. So like you want to maybe pair that with a safer floor, whereas if you're taking somebody that has high ceiling already and or safe floor already like driving on makes a ton of sense to just put on your bench first or Lloyd first because if those guys hit, they're going to be absolute stuck. Now we're going to move on here. And I'll just recap for those of you listening. Tier five was Bucky Irving, Judgins Scataboo, Montgomery, Price and Tutan. Tier six is Marsha on Lloyd or Mandrae Stevenson, Travian Henderson, Tony Pollard and Jonathan Brooks. And we'll finish with these tiers. Tier seven and eight, tier seven is so big tier. Both Steelers, guys, Jordan Mason. What did you say? I put Lloyd twice apparently. Oh wow. Yeah. I would love to drive Marsha on Lloyd twice. Rico Dato and Jalen Warren, Jordan Mason, JK Dobbins, Chakorikrosky Merit, Kenneth Gainwell, Blake Korum, Rashad White, Mike Washington, Jr. and RJ Harvey. I guess it's a little interesting to see guys like Rashad White and Mike Washington, Jr. in the same tier as Rico Dato and Jalen Warren and Mason. I don't know. It's a big tier, Jamie. Just give me your thoughts. It's kind of the blob at running back, right? When you get to this point in the draft, again, it's what makes the most sense for your team. Crosskey Merit probably has a higher ceiling than JK Dobbins, but we don't know how that's all going to play out with Rashad White most likely playing on passing downs. I think in PPR, I gave this data, I don't remember exactly, but it's like 63% of the running backs that have had 50 or more catches in the last five years have scored 13 or more PPR points. It's a really good place to be. And if you just go by projections, forget about whatever you think of those players yourself. If you just go by projections, Kenneth Gainwell, I think on our size projected for 60 plus catches. So that gives them an opportunity to be north of 13 PPR points. That's a free space to draft in this range. Rashad White has three seasons on his resume. Three of his last four years with 50 plus catches. He's probably projected to be around that number. Again, something that you can hang your hat on if you're just looking for floor with maybe a higher ceiling in case of an injury for both of the running backs out of them. And it's not just 63% for guys that have had 50 plus catches. It's like 65% for guys that have had 40 plus catches to score 11 or more PPR points. So the floor is pretty safe if you're getting guys that are just involved in passing it. So I think that kind of matters in sort of how you view these guys. But just at the top, you know, the first four guys, if you were to say, here's these Steelers starter, that's probably two tiers higher. If you say that Mason is going to clearly be the guy ahead of Aaron Jones, at least one tier higher. You tell me JK Dobbins is going to start 13 plus games. He's probably a tier higher. So, you know, again, the sliding skill, I think you just sort of look at guys like Blake Korum and Mike Washington and even RJ Harvey. If you just want to wait, go the next tier and go to General Coleman, like the Dobbins injury will open up opportunities for both those guys. And they may both benefit probably more so Coleman from a carry perspective, Harvey, from a total playing time perspective. But again, you're looking at just what these guys can do and how much they can help you or are just good bench options that eventually would become potential starters. All right. I'm going to make an executive decision. We're going to go back, go to wide receiver now here because we're pretty late in the draft. And you can just read the tiers from Dave from Jamie from Heath draft strategy. Just go to CBS Sports dot com slash fantasy. You'll see it there or you can just Google it. So, let's go to our wide receiver tiers here. Updated wide receiver tiers. Tier one is Chase Puka, St Brown and JSN. Tier two is Lam and Jefferson. Dave, any issues here? I've got Lam and Tier one. I think he's worth a first round pick. I think that he goes behind the first four. But I see him and maybe it's more full PPR than half PPR. But still the catchers are going to count for something. He's going to get a lot of them. He's going to get a lot of targets. He's healthy. I'm happy to draft CD Lamb in the back end of round one. Okay. So those are the six wide receivers that you in some cases will certainly see or might see in round one. Chase Puka, St Brown and JSN, CD Lamb, whether he's in tier one or T tier two and Justin Jefferson. Tier three. Let's take a look at that at wide receiver. AJ Brown, Drake, London, Nico Collins, George Pickens, Chris Olave and Rishi Rice. Jamie, these are second round picks for you. AJ Brown, Drake, London, Nico, George Pickens, Olave, Rishi Rice. They're second round picks for Jamie. Dave, are they second round picks for you? Brown, London, Olave, Nico, neighbors, are second round picks for me. Neighbors might actually be a third round pick. I think I'd put Pickens in round two, neighbors in round three, rice is like late round three, maybe even early round four, if it's half people. I just don't see rice the same way that everybody else does. And Jefferson is toward the top of this tier for me too, just because I'm not a Kyler guy. So if I'm not a Kyler guy, I can't be as bullish on Jettas as Jamie would be. Sure. All right. So a little bit of disagreement there, but AJ, but the guys that we definitely think are in tier three, second round picks, consensus is AJ Brown, Drake, London, Nico, Pickens, and Olave, and Olave, and that's not my order, but it's close enough. Okay. So Jamie says, Jamie says, yes, on Rishi Rice, Dave says, no, in round two, tier four, round three guys, Malik neighbors, maybe Dave will take him in the second round. Malik neighbors, third, it's third. Okay. Neighbors, Devante Smith, T Higgins, Lad McConkey, and Zay flowers. I like Jamie, you know, breaking up this group from Garrett Wilson and McMillan and DJ Moore, whatever, probably into your five. But yeah, neighbors, Devante, Higgins, McConkey, and Zay flowers. This is round three for you. Yep. Anything you want to say other than take them in round three, like what makes them round three picks? I think in the case of all these guys, probably outside of Higgins, just because you've seen it more consistently from him when healthy. Certainly when Joe Burrow and Higgins are both healthy, there's a little bit of change, clearly, you know, so neighbors coming back from the ACL is going to be the same guy I haven't really seen him with Jackson Dart Smith without AJ Brown there, McConkey, new coordinator coming off a down season and Zay flowers, new coordinator, and hopefully gets a little bit more touchdown production. So all of these guys have some level of questions, which is why they're not in tier three. But I think when you're talking about their upside, their potential and what at least they've done in one season or more, there should be some, you know, I don't want to say safety, but they're, you know, you're talking about you go two receivers in your first three rounds. You could even go, I've seen it. I've done it a few times. You know, receivers, receivers, receiver, and this is your third guy. If you go to receivers in a flex or a three receiver league, you go running back, running back. These are two guys that I would like to target if I can, you know, pull that off as well. But these are the guys that I'm taking in round three if they fall around four because McConkey's ADP is round four. Higgins is in round four a lot. It's just, to me, it's an amazing value. Yeah. Neighbors, Davante Smith, Higgins, McConkey's, A Flowers, David Evershoe, Rice, I think in this tier. Rice would be in this. This tier Jalen Waddle would be in this tier. Okay. Derek Wilson would be in this tier. Okay. Then let's go to tier five. We might see those names in tier five. There's Garrett Wilson. There's Jalen Waddle, also DJ Moore, Teterol McMillan, Ameca Buca, and Luther Burden. Garrett Wilson, DJ Moore, Jalen Waddle, McMillan, Abuca, and Burden. And Adam's would be in this tier now when I update it. Okay. So I'll just say that then. Tier five. Garrett Wilson, DJ Moore, Jalen Waddle, Teterol McMillan, Ameca Buca. Ameca Buca, Luther Burden, and Devante Adams. Dave, what do you think about that tier? I think if it were my tier, Zay Flowers and Garrett Wilson would flip flop. I think Flowers is closer to being at the top of this tier than at the bottom of tier four for Jamie. But otherwise, I really like it. I think this is the group for high-end, no, no, no, high-end, medium to low-end, no, medium, high-receiver to. I had to think about it. It sounded like a color commentary guy next to Jim Nance. Uh, McMillan, DJ Moore, Adams, Burden, Abuca, that group seems really solid to me as wide receiver, to target. And I would go round four for most of those guys. Yeah, I think what you can say about tier four, which was the round three guys, which was, like, not all of them, but Higgins and McConkey and Zay flowers, is that if you pass up on those guys in round three, you have a chance to get them in round four. The problem with the round, with the tier five guys, Wilson, Moore, Waddle, McMillan, Abuca, Burden, DeBonte, Adams, that if you have an early pick in round four and you don't take one of these guys, you're probably not going to get them in round five based on average draft position. You can pull off the board like 50, 50 second-ish overall. So if you like tier five and you have a pick in round four, late round four, you can wait. Maybe you can get DeBonte Adams or Luther Burden or something like that. But early round four, you probably need to pull the trigger there. Otherwise, you're looking at tier six, which is fine, tier six is good. Uh, you're looking at the graphic DeBonte Adams is in tier six, but Jamie already said he's in tier five. Number six is Terry McCloreen, Jamo, which is James Williams, Parker Washington, Romo Dunesay, Christian Watson, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brian Thomas Jr. It's a big tier, Jamie McCloreen, James and Williams, Parker Washington, O Dunesay, Christian Watson, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Marvin Harrison Jr., Brian Thomas Jr. Yeah, the round five and round six guys, you know, and Thomas kind of slips a little bit. So it depends if you like him in this tier or not. But I think just looking at it as these guys have so much upside, there's a lot of questions. You know, McCloreen now has to fund digs and some offensive line concerns for the commanders, you know, the Jaguars guys and just how good Parker Washington can be versus where Brian Thomas is and can he ever get back to that level we saw it two years ago. Uh, Evans and his health, I think we've been all over the place with him, understandably so if he's 100% healthy, I'm sure Adam, you'd probably have him in tier five. So the, uh, you know, just sort of looking at this, this is kind of like the last group of, hey, I, if I missed on receiver, this is the last kind of wide receiver, too, that I'd be comfortable with, or certainly not, not comfortable confident in, I guess is the best way because there's other guys you can still be comfortable with, but confident in knowing that, okay, these guys could still be 15 plus 15 PPR points per game or more if things go right. Mm-hmm. I mean, I look at tier six and go and I don't agree with every single person in here, but like 95% of it. I go, I want to be in this tier. Like I want to get guys here, you know, we're still at the point where we've got very appealing wide receivers who could, you know, could shot, and I wouldn't be that big of a shock, but could be top 12 guys, could be top 12, top 18 guys or something like that must start. It's not all them will be, but we're hopeful here. You know those late night knife commercials where you like, you see them like slicing through things? I haven't seen one of those in a long time, but sure. Yeah. Yeah. It's probably because you're not watching TV as much. This is an old-head comment, but I would, if tier six were a cantaloupe, I would take a knife to this tier and cut it in half. I think McLean, Washington, Watson, JMO, I think they go to one half of the melon and then everybody else is on the other half of the melon and I like that first half of melon better. So McLean, Washington, Watson, JMO, I like that for some a little bit better than, you know, the people that Jamie has there. For me, it's like Harrison, O'Donesay, Godwin, Evans, BTJ is slipping for me too. I'm not even sure he belongs in tier six, if this were my tier six. I was a little bit impacted by the schedule talk yesterday with BTJ, but okay, Dave's going to cut up tier six. I did read that if you eat sliced up cantaloupe, it could be very dirty, like sliced up fruit in general. Yeah, you know, food, some food health experts who say, avoid, tier seven, food health experts love tier seven though, I don't know, I don't know how much they love it. Cardinal Tate, good dude, I don't know if this is actually happening, but in the last two real drafts I've done, Cardinal Tate has not been picked in the top 100. He's moved down significantly for me. But too much, I think, people are freaking out a little bit. Well, I think probably put him in more realistic spot of where he should have been at the start of the process, but understanding that he's going to end up being a great value pick because of where you'll get him. He went after Casey Concepcion and a draft I did last year. Yeah, that's ridiculous. No, I would do it. Okay. Cardinal Tate, Cortland Sutton, I'm just going to make this our last tier, even though there are good players in tier eight, I'm sorry, but Cardinal Tate, Cortland Sutton, Quentin Johnston, Jordan Addison, Michael Wilson, Stefan Diggs, Juan Dale Robinson, Dejon Stribbling and Josh Downs, Tate Sutton, Johnston Addison, Michael Wilson, Diggs, Juan Dale Stribbling Josh Downs. David, what do you think about tier seven? I'm cutting up more melons. I think Jamie could like better define. This is I don't want to sound like I'm critiquing Jamie's tears because we all have our own separate process, but just as an example, my tier seven is four names. It's Quentin Johnson, Jordan Addison, Michael Wilson, and Alec Pierce. That's it. And then my tier eight is four more names, Concepcion, Pitman, Tate, Josh Downs. So I just, I've got it broken down into just much smaller groups of wide receivers. And what that does for me is it actually pushes the wide receivers that some of these guys that Jamie has in his tier seven terrain, just pushes them down into just like a bigger blob of, all right, here's guys that you're going to draft. They might be wide receiver threes, they might be on your bench. Less excited about these guys than I am those who I'm prioritizing by putting them in smaller tiers. So I guess it's more of like a philosophical difference than anything else, but these, when I see a lot of these wide receivers, most of them I look at and I go, oh, what's available at running back? What's available at quarterback? I'd rather go in that direction. Okay. Jamie, any thoughts on tier seven? No, it's just grouping two rounds together, you know, so it depends on what you're looking at. And that makes some of these names have moved around in the last three days. Okay. So like I've got it to like one round for a lot of you guys and you just put two rounds together. I mean, that makes sense. That's solid. I feel like Josh Downs is another guy that, and maybe I'm wrong, I mean, oh, we should be dip buying on Josh, but yeah, that was going to say that, you know, I've seen him go. Yeah. We liked him a lot. Then he got this injury, but he appears to be totally fine. He's back. Well, it's also the keen announce thing too. Yeah. That doesn't help. If his role evolves, like there's a couple of ifs with Josh Downs, so I guess I shouldn't be too excited about buying the dip, but if his role evolves and they use him a little bit further down field, and if he stays healthy, then we're right back to where he was two years ago when he's getting north of seven targets per game, north of 13 PPR points per game. I don't know what round tier seven is for you, Jamie, but if this is round eight, and down to the bottom of that list, I would agree. He's around nine pick according to ADP, Josh Downs. Yeah. I'm higher. Okay. Tiedentiers. Tiedentiers, Bowers and McBride in tier one, Loveland and Warren in tier two. How tempted were you, Jamie, to make four separate tiers with these war names? Yeah. Yeah. I think when you get to certain points in tiers and in rank list, like you kind of know what you're dealing with. Yeah. You know, like what? Yeah. We're just highlighting and separating just to I think for our own benefit. But if you put Bowers and McBride in tier one, that would say to me that you'd rather have Trey McBride in round three than Brock Bowers in round two. I don't know. No, I have. Yeah, I guess. I mean, there are five picks apart. Yeah. And half PPR, that makes sense. Um, Loveland and Warren, I don't think they really get drafted as if they're in the same tier. That's all I say. No. And they're not. So this would be one where I would disagree to. I think Loveland is in a class all his own. And honestly, if it were non PPR, I think Bowers is in the tier on his own. And McBride and Loveland are in the same tier in that round three grouping. But since it's half PPR, McBride does get a little bit of a nudge there. And Loveland should just be, he's a late round three pick for me. I've taken him a lot there. And I'm expecting a nice improvement in his numbers from last year. I'm glad Caleb Williams did not hit him up the seam on what would have been like a 20 something your touchdown in that preseason game It's the only chance we have of him staying in the fourth round Yeah, I haven't drafted enough course in love, and I have drafted zero Tyler Warren Which is annoying. I don't mind it. I mean, I mean, I I like just remember what he was when Daniel Jones was healthy I know he's really good And they don't and I'm a piton pitman and all that I just don't know when to take Tyler Warren and that's for me It's like Round five like kind of later in round five. I really like him But I also really like to quarterbacks there. So that's I have trouble Jamie drafting Warren When do you take oh take Warren over the quarterbacks over burrow and I'm the quarterback. Yes over burrow. Yes All right. Well, I'm not gonna take him over the more Jackson Fine, but I could take him over burrow and blow All right, let's go to tier three So it's so tough here Laporta craft pits. I was gonna kill Heath last night. We're sharing a team and he drafted Kyle Pits I hated it. Laporta craft pits I drafted pits in a Titan premium league. Yes, I was so happy about it. You took it. I love it if it's too. I hated if it's panics I don't care. I love it that it's the fansky Okay, yeah, I think it ended up being a good pick by Heath It's just that kid all was available like five rounds later or something, but oh Laporta craft pits likely kittle fanon So that's a big tier there Laporta craft pits likely kittle fanon Dave, what do you think? I think it's juicy And and this is this is a this is where most drafters are going to land because not everybody's gonna get one of the first four tight ends off the board I can nitpick the order obviously and pits would be lower craft would be higher Fanon's at the bottom. We're at that point with Harold Fanon where he's at the bottom of this tier, but still in it And this is I almost feel like this is the group where you go, okay Unless you feel strongly about Laporta if you're Jamie or Heath or craft if you're me or pits if you're also Heath You just you wait till the end of it and you try and get one of likely kittle fanon and you think to yourself, okay, maybe they don't have the same type of upside as Certainly the first four tight ends and maybe the guys at the top of tier three But still they're going to be must-start guys. You should feel good about using on a week to week basis They won't be black holes in your fantasy lineup. You'll feel you'll feel good about them They all should be in that range of 11 plus and full ppr probably closer to like eight and a half nine and half ppr which isn't bad for a tight end one All right, let me just take a quick look at the real-time ADP at tight end and you tell me the best value amongst the players in tier three Sam Laporta in round six Harold Fanon and Kyle pits in round seven George kittle at the seven eight turn Oh, I'm sorry Tucker craft is just ahead of Sam Laporta. So they're both in round six So it's crafting Laporta in round six. Yep fanon and pits in round seven Kittle at the seven eight turn Then concave and Kelsey then likely in round on around ten I love call my say a lovely because I love it Fanon where the hell is fanon you do I say I'm sorry. Yes, and that's ever range. I bet All right real too soon for fanon Awesome value for likely Um Travis Kelsey and Dallas Goddard are in tier four. Are these the last two tight ends you want as your starter in a 12 team league? Yes Okay, concave's not there for you not a starter no All right, Jamie has to take a bounce put it in there. I will just try to It's just start show the next two tiers for the tier five is Andrews concave sholts juan johnson juan johnson. I did some week one research. There's some stuff. I don't love about him in week one If you really need a tight end, but there are some things I love like they are going to be playing the lions They're gonna probably need to score a lot the lions We'll have both of their starting safeties out There were five games in which they were both out last year. They're two starting safeties and Kate oden had like 75 yards Terrence Ferguson had something 60 something yards and two touchdowns Or maybe that was Kobe Parkinson Kobe Parkinson had it had a huge game and colson loved one had a huge game So there's some reasons to like johnson in week one Andrews concave sholts and johnson are two or five and there's a huge tier six you can read it on the website Jamie has to go I will just read a few questions here Are we rapid fire? Are we all trusting too much in Caleb Williams way to bullish on these wides? The wide receivers and Loveland would probably be included in there I think we're trying to collect pieces of a high-powered passing offense that should be a little bit better This year than it was last year second year in it for Caleb He seems to have taken some steps to improve his his completion rate and his efficiency One of the ways he can do that is completing those shorter throws That's great for burden that's good for Loveland not as good for a dunesay Three of these guys in the first 70 picks may seem like a lot But I I feel like Caleb Williams just like the playmaking ability that he's got can overcome a A completion rate that's not 65 percent. So if it's lower than 65 percent But he's making some great off schedule plays The receivers should benefit Loveland should benefit and he reminds me or I should say Jackson dart reminds me of of Caleb Williams And I think that's right that I'm not a lot of similarities that like Jackson dart is probably not going to wow you with his completion percentage His mechanics his footwork might be a little bit weird But that this guy is so good. They're both so good at making unbelievable plays Extending plays and being kind of better than their baselines statistics So I see dart as one of the biggest fallers since drafts began because giants have not had a good offseason basic well offense And just think about what we saw from dart getting ours Without no, he got smacked. He got hit and went to the blue tent. Everybody that nobody wants to draft a player who They think is an obvious candidate to miss games. Yeah, I agree But it's too much order backs. He's the most obvious and I think we know that the giants do not want him to run as much He's not going to run for nine touchdowns. It's nine He he's he ran in for touchdowns nine times and a lot of them were in the red zone But not many were near the goal line and the giants have just overloaded on right they went they went robust our B with the roster And now they've got so many running backs that they don't need to use dart in that role Just become I think he's become a good value and I've taken him in a couple of leagues as a backup because You know, I think it's just what we saw last year There's obvious upside and he did all of that without Malik neighbors And he by the way he's done pretty much all of it in the offseason this bad offseason without Malik neighbors But okay, that's my giants thought of the day I'm not going to read any more comments except for this one because they're all keeper questions Dan Schneider said that Adam cuts his sandwiches horizontally beyond the box score Hey, Dan keep my name out your mouth, but I will yes, I do I it's boring But I do cut them horizontally.
