50 Late Round Fliers To Dominate Your Fantasy Basketball League

The podcast emphasizes aggressive late-round fantasy basketball drafting by targeting "flyers"—players with upside potential due to injuries, roster changes, or coaching decisions. Players like Keegan Murray, Jeremiah Fierce, Brandon Pajemski, and Ev Misi are highlighted for their eligibility to start or see increased minutes, with ADP or rankings at or below 115 across major platforms serving as a key qualification. The host advocates for taking calculated risks in rounds 10 to 12, where standard value picks are often streamed, creating space for high-impact, high-variance players. These selections rely on situational factors such as injuries, player development, and rotation shifts, rather than consensus projections. While outcomes are not guaranteed, the strategy aims to maximize fantasy value through long-term upside. The list includes over 50 players across teams like Utah, Toronto, Golden State, and Phoenix, with specific attention to bench players who could flash into starting roles. The core message is that late-round drafting should prioritize value, risk, and adaptability—especially in formats with small benches—making it a crucial strategy for building competitive fantasy rosters. The episode concludes by promoting the FanGil app for fantasy rewards and the "Monster Drop" contest for listener engagement.

At the end of a fantasy draft, you want to swing for upside. You want to look at flyers. I want to talk about at least 40 names here of blokes that you can target in the last round of your drafts, drafts, and rounds. All plurals. Michael Bolton. Thanks, Josh. It's Michael Bolton here, and it's time for another episode of the Lockdown Fantasy Basketball Podcast. Let's get to it. Let's get to it. Indeed. You are Lockdown Fantasy, your daily NBA fantasy podcast, part of the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team, every day. Hello and welcome to the Lockdown Fantasy Basketball Podcast brought to you by Basketball Monster. My name is Josh Lloyd and I was formerly the clinical supervisor at Shady Acres. What are we talking about today? Flyers. What do you do in the last rounds, which players do we take the upside swings on? We'll talk about all of that, thanks to Fangil. Make this your most rewarding season ever with Fangil awards. Club every week. Check the Fangil app to see what's waiting for you. I want to cover all of these players here. So we're going to start off with 15 names and then we're going to go through another 30 or so just of names just to roll through just other ones to consider. I've got my top 15 late round targets. You generally know what this means. It's when we're talking about late round flyers, I'm talking about at least all of your bench slots. Once you start feeling, once you've filled up all your starters, you're taking swings. You could even do it in round 10, your final starter spot because there's no point grabbing a guy at 110 who's going to be 110th. There's no point in that. You can find these guys and use that value off the way of a wire. We want to swing for upside. So the qualification that I used in this is I wanted these players to have an ADP or a current pre-rank as of October the 3rd of 115 or lower. The 15 names that I mentioned are at that 115 mark in at least three of the five measurements which is Yahoo rank, Yahoo ADP, ESPN rank, ESPN ADP and fan tracks ADP. So the first 15 names are at least in at least three of those five sitting at 115 or lower. The later names, all they have to do is be outside the top 115 in one of those. So it's going to be a little bit more format specific. So let's get into these more globally available players. And is there a pattern in the order to which I present these names? Yeah a little bit, it's sort of just how high I actually project these guys to finish. I'll go to Utah because I'm pretty sure use of knurkage is starting. Knurk was 71st last season. Yeah, he got there because Walker Kessler was injured. Guess who doesn't play for Utah anymore to Walker Kessler. Knurkage sits at 168 on ESPN, he's at 119 on fan tracks, he's at 148 ADP on ESPN. Yahoo, it's a little bit more aggressive. But there's not many starting centers available towards the end of a draft. He's not a particularly high usage player and it's a bit of a different scenario. Obviously Jaron Jackson is there, Jaron Peterson is there. But he still did a lot of the damage last season when Mark and an Anciente George were around. And you might think they're going to start Jaron Jackson at center. I don't. I do not think they're starting a spaley by the way. We'll talk about Ace a little bit later. I don't think he's starting. I think knurkage is starting. He might not be, but that is the idea of a swing because of knurkage starts. I'm pretty confident we can get at least sort of top 80 numbers out of him. I'm pretty confident we can get that. No, he might get hurt all that is fine, but we're taking flyers. Should we go to another team whose name starts at the bottom end of the alphabet? Yeah, Keegan Murray. Never been a big Keegan Murray guy. He was 110 points and 121st last season. I don't know if the shop blocking is going to stay. It was really good. I've changed it a lot last season, but they cleared out usage, Demar. Westbrook, Shrater. I don't know what happens with Levine and Sabonus. He's at 116 and 120 rank an ADP on Yahoo Keegan Murray. He's an ESPN ADP at 124. Now this is where it differs because he's ranked 83 on ESPN. So that's probably a little high for me. His fan tracks ADP 108 are sort of bang on the nose. Like, boop, right there. But if he's at 120 and I can get him in round 10, I'm very happy to do that. I think at top 100 sort of season from Keegan Murray, sounds about right. And that is coming from somebody, me, who's never been a big fan. I had this in my JLFB bowl. I had to head draft, by the way, always check JLFB, sorry, drushloidvanicie.com/bull. Because they may or may not be, they will, I just can't tell you where it will be up. They knew head-to-head bowl releasing 96 small spots. I don't know when though. You just got to check drushloidvanicie.com/bull. I drew after John Collins and someone in the, said, "Man, I can't believe it." I never thought I'd say the day that Josh drafts John Collins. I understand that when I'm talking about players in general, unless it's Cam Thomas, and I'm talking about players, I don't hate the player. I don't think they're trash. It's more about how do I value them versus consensus? How do I value the game versus how other people do? So if it makes sense on my team to draft John Collins, or to think that Keegan Murray's a value, I'll do it. I don't have particular biases against players. I have opinions. And if you're taking John Collins at 80 and thinking he's going to be great, then no. But I think I got him at like 118 or something, and I needed a big man, so I think I'll take him. And that's the same here with Keegan Murray. I don't think that Colin Murray Boiles is going to start the Toronto, but a preacher I don't really care. As of rookie, he was outside the top 150. You can see that ESPN's got him outside the top 170. He just sneaks into my criteria here by having an ADP of 115 on Yahoo. I think he's going to close games at times with the Raptors. He's going to play 25 plus minutes. If he gets to 30 minutes, he'll probably be a top 70 player. I think we're talking top 100 as just a baseline number, and that's a great late round pick. I'm moving more towards using round 10 as a bit of a flyer zone as well. 11, 12, 13, absolutely. We're just, we're swinging in a lot of those. And then that also brings you to your last round where maybe that stable 110 guy you're picking up pick 150, then does become value. But I'm happy to swing in round 10, happy to swing in round 11. And Murray in that spot, Murray Boyles in that spot I do like. I know that this is somewhat controversial and I don't know how this is going to go. But I would say that there's at least a 50/50 chance that Jeremiah Fierce starts for New Orleans. Shemma Doer, one of the more plugged in Palakin's reporters, reports that Olmate Joe Doomars wants Fierce to start over Herb Jones. Because Zion is going to start, Trey Murphy is going to start, DeGente Murray is going to start, and almost certainly Eve Mise is going to start. But Shemma's reporting all the information is that he thinks that Doomars wants Fierce in there. Now whether Jamal Mosley agrees with that, I don't know. Fierce can struggle with defensive times, but he's dynamic with the ball. He's showed he could score a lot. He won't do that this season. But yeah, 141st last season, he's available out to the top 15 in every sort of denomination here. He hits all five categories. If he is a 30 minute tonight starting player, I happily take this swing. I don't know what he can average this way, five, 17 points, couple of threes, maybe a steal a bit. I don't know. But second year point guard, who I think is going to start. Now if he doesn't start, I'm not interested in this. But the reporting is in this way we take swings. The reporting is he might start. So if he might start, I will take the chance on it. If we know that he won't, then I won't take it. But at the moment, he might. So we take a chance. Couple of Golden State Warriors who are both going to start the preseason opener, Brandon Pajemski. Pretty sure his minutes will go up. Warriors fans hate this bloke for some reason. I think that there is real fantasy value here in a top 100 season probably coming. He's available outside of ESPN, outside the top 115. They've got him ridiculously ranked at 66. Do not do that for the love of God. Absolutely not. And his ADP is sort of following at 94. That is not interesting at all. Yahoo at 117 and fan tracks at 119. Yeah. That's like back end of round 10 moving into round 11 in a lot of drafts. I'm pretty sure he's going to start. And I'm pretty sure that given the way this team is constructed, there's no one who really gets usage outside of Steph or could create their own shot. And the other Warriors player I want to highlight here is Yaxel Lindervor, who's also starting in the preseason opener. Now, Yaxel's not a usage guy the way that Pajemski is. He'll get some assists, he'll get some defensive stats. He's shooting, he's going to be up and down, but I'm okay with him in a lot of different spots here. You can see on most of these his fan tracks ADP, all his ADPs, all his ranks are outside the top 115. Round 10, round 11, flyer on Yaxel. Let's see where it goes. Again, don't think he's going to be particularly high usage, but that's okay. We have got more late round swings to take a look at. Today's episode is brought to you though by Ben. Some of you already had free accounts, I've activated the membership for you, we're talking about late round flyers, guys you can take around 10, 11, 12 in your drafts, which counts in 10s and 12 team leagues, I'm going to go to Phoenix here because yeah, it wasn't good for Jaylen Green last season, it was 164th, but he played like 28 minutes a night. It does seem for whatever insane reason, they think he's going to be their starting point, I'd even though he can't really pass, but his minutes are going to go up, he's going to take shots, he's going to hit threes. He's sitting outside the top 115 basically everywhere, he's out who ADPs at 102, but rank and then all the other ones are pretty late, 20 point scorers with two threes, a game who maybe gets four and a half assists, maybe, they're not just sitting around everywhere, I just drafted Jaylen Green, one of my JLFB bowl leagues, and I'm pretty good with it. Who's another late fly, let's go to Oklahoma City, AJ Mitchell, I don't think that AJ Mitchell starts, I think that there is an overblowing, and honestly this is the first time I would have ever complained about being overblown, there's an overblowing of AJ Mitchell's actual value and who he is as a player at times, but they did lose Joe Dought and Wiggins, and there is this randomness about Shay playing a little bit more off ball, which suggests that Joe and McCain and AJ Mitchell are going to play more, Mitchell will also probably get started, if Shay misses, if Wallace misses, even if the Bronco misses, he's available basically everywhere, he's ranked 143rd on ESPN, and while I'd love that he, if he did a little bit more usage wise, even assist wise, I think that there is more in store for AJ this season, if by the way, if Shay gets hurt, this is through the roof, but I think there's enough value in him right now to take him as a later flyer, we're going to Denver, and we'll look at Cam Johnson who was pretty bad last season, apart from shooting a really high percentage, but they lose Peyton Watson, the shooting is important on this team, and while I'm not massively in on Cam, I'm finding that he's just being disregarded everywhere, and injuries plagued him, he just was uninvolved offensively, and I think that somewhat changes this season, what's his best case outcome, I think best case is top 90, I don't necessarily think he gets there, but he's sitting at 168 on fan tracks, 141 on ESPN, they're all really good to me, I'm happy with all of that, really happy, it's got another late round flyer target, we're going to Brooklyn, to Yegod Yoman, was not a good year from Yoman last season, outside the top 200, these minutes were okay, he dealt with a foot issue for most of the year, he looks bigger, he looks stronger, I hope that he's able to take more two pointers because that opens up so much more of his game and at least hit them, I hope that the three points surge we had last season wasn't an anomaly, I hope that it can do something else that's not just shooting threes and get some assists or some defensive stats, but it's year two, he's got size, he's shown improvements, that's what taking the flyer is all about, he's going to be pretty highly prioritized, I'm guessing, do I feel super good about him being a top 100 guy, but not necessarily, but part of this is okay, so I'm projecting him, Yoman, to be like around 120th or something along those lines, right, and if I'm taking him in round 10 or round 11, you won't necessarily say that, well, Josh, that's not a great pick, but the difference between that, and say looking at the pencil, Harris and Barnes, party, is that, now I could try the thick holesman in there, whoever you wanted to buy a Harris it in that sort of mix, is that if I had them projected 120, I see no way that they get above that, I might project Yoman because projections have to be sort of an average or a median outcome, right, you can't just say, well, I project everything to be 99th percentile outcomes for players, but the band of what he can do is a lot wider than what others can do, so while I might project Yoman to be 120th, I could see him being 80th, I could see him averaging 17, 5 and 4 and a half, 1.4 steals, hit 2.5 threes, get to 45% shooting, maybe 3 to 4 free throw attempts, I can see how that can happen. So that's why we take a flyer, will it work out that way? Not necessarily, in fact, for a lot of these, probably not, but the value in it is taking the chance, back to the Warriors, because Geese Santos, El Helper, might also be a starter. But even if he's not, I think he's minutes will be good enough to generate fantasy value, because A. L. Hawthorff is not playing every night, Dreyman is going to have time off, Steph is going to have time off, Paul Zingus is going to have, maybe he'll play some games, maybe the foreseeable future legend Steve Kurt tinkers with his lineup, I know, I know, I know that's blasphemous, but it is possible that Steve changes his mind. Stranger things have happened. Santos was electric, top 100 last season down the stretch, it's a little bit different this year, because Lendabog's there, but some are different, I mean, Steph is back, but I think that, again, taking, I'd rather, Yaxl and I'd rather Pajemski, as I've mentioned them earlier, but I still think Santos is somewhat interesting to target. What about this guy, Kaman Malwatch, do not use that ridiculous nickname that people give him, it's, maybe it's his, I just don't like him. But it seems like he is almost locked in as the sun starter is a ton of buzz around him, I would 100% take him over Osset Yigadaro, it's hard to judge, he played nine minutes last season, it was not a top 400 player, but 12, 10, 2 blocks, 1.5, 3s, 52% shooting and not bad free throws, yeah, let's go. And these upside players, you can't sit there and go, well, he's sitting at 202 and 173 on fan tracks, I'll just get him in round 12, no, take him in 10. Because for most of your teams, you're going to drop your round 10, 11, 12, 13 players nearly all the time, you stream them through, so take a guy that, what if he gets 28 minutes and gets 14 and 11 with 2.5 blocks, that's top 75, probably, have a crack. This one is getting a little bit, it's more shorter term, but it seems like Bruclope is will not start for the Clippers and Isaiah Jackson will. Now I know that a common refrain will be, let me throw your arguments at you before you say them, you might have already said them, he'll just get fouls, true, true. I've been bird before, sick, who cares? This might only be short term, absolutely, agree with all of that, he might get into foul trouble, he might suck again, he might get replaced, in fact, I'm pretty sure he will buy Yannick Conan Needaheuser, but Conan Needaheuser is coming off a broken foot, as a big man, not sure they're going to push him super hard early. Isaiah Jackson can at least be a top 150 guy early on and maybe get you a little bit more. Or it could be useless. And that's the downside that we know when we come into these late-round flyers, but if Isaiah Jackson is starting, your threat is going to be the return of Konanita Gaza, which is the bit away. And much like with Isaiah Jackson, Daniel Gafford might be the last man standing. I was sort of out on Daniel Gafford because I thought I would have might just try Mariz Johnson. There's a lot of these small ballish guys, Peter Washington, Santiago Dama. Maybe lively is healthy, but lively is not healthy. Santiago Dama is not healthy. Mariz Johnson, Jr. is not healthy. I must have seen say is there, but I think with Johnson having this issue, I think Gafford might start opening night. Now Gafford is not the same guy that he used to be. He's finishing ability at the room is not the same that it used to be. Block rate is not the same that it used to be. He's in the locker room every five seconds with his ankle. We know all of this. But we take a flyer and a guy who might be the opening night, who might play 25 minutes night for who knows how long. Do we get top 100 for two months, a month? Yeah, lively and Mariz returning will probably have an impact, but Mariz Johnson is a rookie who's undecised, who's missing training camp. It might take a bit of time to get him in there. So we take a flyer, the whole idea of this show, on Danny. And the last of these 15 names where I run through rapid fire in the last segment, a bunch of other names. The last guy we're going to talk about is completely blank. Hmm. I don't know what happened there. Let me just fix that and see what I've put down Gafford back up for your viewing pleasure, because he's a handsome man. But now it fixed it. The last guy I want to go into in depth is Ev Misi, who I do think is going to be the Pelican starting center. Now Misi was pretty disappointing as a rookie. Played a lot of minutes. They dropped way down last season, but his block rate skyrocketed. His defensive ability jumped up. I'm not massively in on Ev Misi, but a starting center with two block upside on high field goal percentage with double digit rebound capacity is interesting. I'll take a crack at it. He's available everywhere. It's not great news for Dera Queen, who like, absolutely as obvious as all everything, he does not fit alongside Zion Williamson, and they're going to roll back Zion Williamson. And that's going to make it even harder for Queen to have value, especially now sharing a second unit with probably the depressed penis Lysheval Sedig Bay. Misi might be a 28 minute and I'll play it, but again, we don't know. We don't know what minutes Mullwatch is playing. We don't know what Isaiah Jackson's going to do. We don't know what they're going to do with Dan Gafford, but we take a chance, we take a flyer, we take an upside swing on this stuff. And we hope that it works out. I'm going to come back with about 25 more names, just rattle those off rapid fire, who are also late round flyer types. So he's never said though. He's brought to you by Game Time. We're talking about late-round flyers for fantasy basketball, drafts, categories, points leagues, whatever, 10 team, 12 team. It different things happen in 14 and 16s, but we're focusing more on standard sized formats here. So let's roll through some of these other ones. I think that it looks like Baylor Shiamen is going to start in Boston. You may disagree with that, but it looks that way. That's overpaid and pritched by the way. You could throw Mitch Robinson and Namesh Kater in there, but Shiamen's an interesting late-round flyer type. Again, all these ones that I'm going to look at here have at least one of their ESPN Rancor ADP, Yahoo Rancor ADP, and FanTracks ADP sitting outside the top 115. I really should have included Kater on that list. For Brooklyn, they're on sharp. In some formats, he's going to be there and we take the crack at it. And then presumably they're starting point guard, but I don't know this is the case, Michele Brown, Jr. who should start next to Yegodjolman. Good steals and assists outside, shooting volume should be interesting. We can take flyers. We don't expect them to work out, but we take the chance. In Charlotte, especially with the injury to Old Mate, the big Ariella con Canepal, we can look at Grayson Allen. I don't think Allen maintains the value, but we draft him, we use him, and we move on later on. And what's the Diabata and Hanna Steinbach? We expect that Diabata is going to start. I expect Steinbach is going to be the backup center and maybe get some minutes behind Nazarid too. I'd much rather have a Diabata than a Steinbach, but I think we can take cracks at these guys. Again, I'd go 90 Diabata versus 10 Steinbach. I think Steinbach overall, though, if they would have played equivalent minutes, Steinbach would be the better fantasy producer. That would be my guess. He's not going to be available in a lot of formats here, but Nick Clarkson, he satisfies the criteria with an ADP or rank outside the top 115 in some spots. And by some spots, I mean, ESPN, 119 and 122 is his rank and ADP there. So, yeah, absolutely. You have a look at Nick Clarkson in that range. I don't want to do it in the 80s, but I'll do it there. In some of the leagues, you might see Peyton Watson sitting around. Go for it. It is hard to get enough usage in Cleveland, but if one injury happens, it does open up quite a bit for Peyton. I talked about Dan Gafford already in Dallas, but Peter Washington might fall into that group. Maybe you want to take a chance on Marais Johnson, Jr. The injury is a little bit annoying, but if we do see him play in pre-season, he'll get bumped up on this list to me. In Denver, Domada Rosen is certainly a bench player. And I don't think he's playing 30 minutes, but maybe you believe he is. And it probably is one injury away from him being more important. And then, maybe you're a believer in Christian Brown, me, not so much. But I think he's going to start. And it is possible that he goes back up to 55% from the field, which will elevate him into usefulness to a degree. But he's there too. Shall we look at Detroit? Again, all these guys fit the criteria in at least one spot. And one of them is the aforementioned John the Baptist Collins. Collins? Collins. So, yeah, Kevin Durin has signed, but doesn't mean we have to fade off of Paul Reed. We're less interested in Paul Reed, but how does the team respond to Durin? Who played only 28 minutes of night last season? And their backup was, as I asked you it, so it's Reed now. So Reed's, if, by the way, if Durin's playing 28 minutes of night, Reed's playing 20. And that doesn't even account for games where Durin has foul trouble or is injured. 20 Paul Reed's, it might be enough. The other one there is Danis Jenkins. I think they still start Duncan Robinson, but, and as I say, Joe and fan of Pants, Kevin Herder. But what if they decide double-ball handler with Jenkins and Kate and Dennis plays 27? It's unlikely, but it's something. Golden State, I've already talked about a lot of names, but Anthony Melton's another one. And I will throw in Christa's Pusinger, so it's off for everybody. If you're in a daily changes league with small benches, it's almost impossible to deal with that. It would have been a lot easier if I L+ still existed on Yahoo, but that's not the case. But, you're sitting there to pick 150. Pusinger's is there. Why not? He might be a top 70 player for 40 games, but you've got to make it make sense with your format. In Houston, they have three top end guys, and there's four other guys who do fit this criteria. Jabari Smith, Reed Shepard, who, again, probably hated by the coach, Fred Van Blit, and Tari maybe never seasoned. Do I believe that these guys are all going to do it? Look, look, Jabari Smith, yes, I do. Shepard, not really, but the skill sets pretty clear. Van Blit, certain. teams and Esen's a stashy sort of guy, but they're all options that if you took them in your last couple of rounds, I'm not going to kill you for making that call. Let's go to the next time we're going to Indiana Paces, Calibrate probably needs an injury or a weirdness in the rotation to get there, but maybe, and then Aaron Neesmith, just if Torres Haliburton just unlocks the shooting back to being 48 to 50%, then he could be a top 100 player. Obviously, the ones I gave you first, my top 15 are the names that are like more, but we've got some more here. For the Clippers, the Winter Soldier max Struce, almost certainly starting. Now, Struce has had some moments of being really relevant in some moments where I'm not really sure that it sticks, but like 30 plus minutes of Struce, Strooth. Elf Stewart just raises his head here. Struce, yeah, do it. What about all mate? The Impitzel. If you are new to this show, you may not know this, but if you're old to this show, you're all well aware that I don't think Rui Hatchamer is good. I don't think Rui Hatchamer is a good fantasy player at all, but it's all context, isn't it? For a team that's not, doesn't have Brandon Ingram, Rui is probably going to start, usage should go up, and he is a really good 3-point shooter, I just hope he takes more of them. Maybe there is enough in 32 minutes of Rui with elevated usage to be good enough. So we have a look. I also think that if you've got an ability to hold a Nile Slot, Yannick Coda Neaterhouse and might have a top 70 run down the stretch. Once he returns from his foot injury, I think they'll want to start him and play him in 25 minutes. And he's an interesting player. You could also say I'll take a Crack at Brook Lopez, but I think the writings on the wall there, but I just put the name out there, and the other one is Keaton Wuggler. I don't think Wuggler is starting. In fact, I don't think they want Garland and Wuggler to start or play much together. But, Darius Garland, not always particularly robust. So if Garland misses, I don't think it's going to be done that starts a point. He's not really a point card anymore. I think Wuggler will get that chance. So again, it's a little bit of speculation, and it's probably going to be bad early on. But the name is there. But the Lakers, I've got a bunch of different names that I want to throw out here as well. I don't think that Sundra and Mama Kalishvili is going to start. Because their backup center position is Kavon Looney, and let's be honest, that means their backup center is Sundra and Mama Kalishvili. So I don't think he's going to start. Also, Jay Doretik, yeah, doesn't want more white guys in the starting unit. 26 minutes of Mamu is a backup 4-5, probably enough. He was very overrated for his fantasy contributions last season, but I like it. If we get win the Jake Laravira starting, he is an interesting rebounds assist steals and blocks sort of a player with if he's shooting. He feels certain that Quentin Grimes is going to start, so that almost locks him in at 30 minutes. The benefit of taking a flyer on Grimes is Reeves hurt, Don she hurt, he becomes number two. He gets an assist bump at a usage and volume in a minute's bump, and it might be top 80. And the last one there is an outside shot of starting. It is the painter. French Impressionist legend, Matisse Thible. Now Thible has had a lot of injury concerns with his knees, I think ankles too. So that does limit some of his minutes upside. But if Bro starts, and he might be actually really good next to Luca as a Doreen Finney Smith analog, just hit corner 3s and play defense, the difference there between Finney Smith is, he might average 3 steals a game. If he plays 28 minutes, we're talking steal rates higher than Dyson Daniels. He's also an incredibly good shoplocker as a win. He might have any average 9 points, but it might be 9 points with 3 3s, 3 blocks, 3 steals, 1 block, 3 assists, 5 rebounds. And for some of you, that's enough. Or he could play 24 minutes because his body can't handle it, and then he just uses him as a steal streamer. We got a Memphis, yeah, look, Zac Edie. I only put Zac Edie up here because he sits with an ESPN ADP of 124. Surely that will come in. He is allegedly healthy. This is a guy that probably is a top 60 player at worst. So just be aware that don't let Zac he fall his file like taking him in the 70s. But ESPN rank has 113 ADP's got him outside the top 120. He might just be sitting there. Same goes for the chicken. Cedric Coward Google Kajah! Where he sits at 124 on ESPN and the ADP have 128. I'm certain Coward starting. That Thomas Isselo does limit some of the minutes, but again, 26 is a rookie. 29 now. I don't think he's a high steel block guy and these percentages go up and down, but I think we're going to get a usage spike and a minute spike. I don't think that Scotty Pippin Jr. is going to start over tied to his own, but it is possible. And like Matisse Leibor, Pippin is a defensive demon who can shoot. And he is healthy. And the last one is one that again, I don't really want to get into it too much, but the odds of March Jeremy Grant. If he wins the starting spot over Jalen Wells, he's a better fan as he contributed than Wells, and just getting points, especially in points leagues, which Jeremy Grant does, might work for you. It's not one that I'm going to firmly get behind, but it's there. In Miami, yes, it seems dumb that Andrew Wiggins would qualify, but he does. Palo Larson. I would start Palo Larson. In fact, I even heard something the other day that there's maybe a chance that Palo Larson just starts as a point guard over David On Mitchell. If Palo Larson starts, we draft him. He's iffy on his shooting, but I think he's just a really good player. Who, there were times he was averaging five assists a game as a wing last season. Yeah, there's Clay and there's Tim Hardaway, but I think Palo is a better overall player than both of those guys, not a better shooter, obviously. But we can take a crack there. And then the other one is David On Mitchell, who is an incredibly low usage player, but is an assist guy with steals that you'd hope are better. It's not like his usage is expected to go up. And maybe he does lose a spot to Larson. But still, even assist upside for a flyer type player. Cool. Milwaukee. As much as I just don't know what's going to happen with Kevin Porter, Jr. Once you get to this stage in the draft, you just have to do it. This is a bloke who's top 25 last season. And Glen Rivers isn't there to do whatever he does. And I'm pretty sure Rollins are starting over Porter. And I don't know how they're going to manufacture what happens with hero Rollins. By the way, there was a person like I tweeted out there starting lap and someone I said man, they're backwards rotations of mess. And he goes, I don't think it's a mess. These guys are good players. Not what I mean by mess. I mean, a mess in terms of how do you figure it all out? Because there's hero. There's Rollins. There's Porter. There's Yakki Jonas. There's Burries. There's $16 million dollar man. Gary Trent. There's AJ Green. This is the million blokes. So I don't think Porter can get 30 minutes, but maybe he does. Maybe he is actually just good. He's not. But maybe he is. Tommy Huck is probably as a starter. I'm not a big Huck is guy. He's shooting his paw. He's defensive stats aren't great. His passing is interesting, but Rollins and Hero will have a lot of the ball. And I'm just, I'm not convinced on Huck is, but he has to be drafted and same with Miles Turner who again in some formats is sitting in. Now Miles was pretty bad last season, but people again, single season myopia. I've had so many crazy conqueries. This guy is trash. Miles Turner is terrible. He just should be benched for Cali. Where I said, well, Cali was actually not great as a player. He's a pretty bad defender and has some bonehead players in Miles Turner. Pretty sure there was conflict with him and Janus and him and Glenn. So I don't know that I can say that Miles was trash as a player. But he sits at 128 ADP. Let's do it. A deeper long shot is going to be Braden Burries. I don't really see where the minute on this. They just clear everything out, which maybe they do. But it for a rookie guard who is not going to start and has maybe four other blogs competing for minutes. It's tough. But I get, I'll put him there just in case it's more depolix. In Minnesota, it probably just is the bucket John Camingo who they apparently promised to start. Now that does not mean that it will last all season. Often these teams will, yeah, nah man, it comes on here. We will be a starter and then he plays 10 games ago. Yeah, like absolutely not. You're out. That can easily happen. But there are other options that are like, I assume it means their bench unit has no ball handlers and their starting group has no size. So Camingo, I don't know. It could be really ugly with him in terms of him chasing shots and not playing team ball in order to somewhere get paid next season, but we take a chance on it to see what happens. In New Orleans, we already talked about fears and me see the depressed penis. Let's shove out. So Dick Bay, he was very good last season overrated, but very good. I don't really see the easy path for him to play 30 minutes. I don't think that Jamal Mosley is going back to the design Williams in its center situations, which enabled Bay to play. So he's going to be a reserve sharing the bench unit with Derek Queen and Ben Matherin. Seems somewhat optimal to me, but he did produce good enough value when they used him pretty weirdly last season. So maybe the next don't have anyone, but the thunder do. And again, I know that you'll say I say a heart and it's just going to be drafted everywhere because he is and you should go into the top 100. But on ESPN again, you notice the theme. He sits out. So the top 130, so we do it. And then there's the Hong Kong mattress, case in Wallace, who I would be fairly certain is starting on this squad. But even his fan tracks ADP is 115, his Yahoo ADP is 118, his Yahoo rank is 128. He's a steals guy. But what if he gets 31 minutes? What if the playmaking, we talked about that Shay playing a little bit off ball, what if Wallace picks up some, he was a usage point guard coming out of Kentucky? He has to be drafted. Don't go too high on it, but he has to be drafted. Let's take a look at the Orlando Magic. Jalen Suggs, qualifies. Probably a top 70 player, if you just didn't get injured all the time. But that's your mythical fanciful, fancy, full world. But we always take the chance. And if you believe-- and I think you'd be wrong-- but if you believe that Mr. O'Black can maintain a starting role, sure. Now, Anthony Black had some good moment-size isn't. Again, I think he is highly overrated. He had some good moments when multiple players were down. But if Suggs is down, he will start. And he will be worth it. And Suggs going down is a pretty likely possibility. It's a pretty likely outcome. We got a Phoenix. While I'm big on a common mulch, should I also look at Osu Igadaro? Especially if my league goes to like 14 teams or 14 man rosters in a 12 teamer. He's a low usage player who's not a particularly good fantasy guy, and probably needs 27 to 28 minutes to make it make sense. But until we know that he's not, it's up there. And then Colin Gillespie, who, in his current role, will not be worth it. He will play off the bench behind Booker, Green, and Brooks. But they lost Grayson Allen. And if one of Green, Booker, and Brooks gets hurt, Gillespie will start. He'll play 30 minutes, and he'll be worth it. We saw last season, when they were healthy, he was not. But we saw when, especially two of them are out, he was great. So we take a chance on that. And we just see how it plays out. This is why, when I'm talking about, I'm OK with taking an L week one or two. I'm not drafting for the week one schedule. I'm not pushing and streaming just to get extra games in week one or two. I'm taking ads on guys who I think have longer-term value, absolutely. And I'm OK to do that and take Ls in week one. Because if I draft Gillespie, I'll use him as the placeholder here. Let's just see what they do. Does Green at point guard make no sense at all? And they have to get Gillespie in there? Does somebody get hurt? And Gillespie plays. I'll just wait it out a little bit. Shall we look at the next team? Probably the Portland Trailblazers. Tamitrius Morant, Tamani Kamara, the Rock DJ, Robbie Williams, and Sterling Henderson. Morant's the obvious one. I think he's going to stop, but maybe he doesn't. Kamara is going to have absolutely no usage, but stills, maybe we get them back to normal. Williams is a block specialist. And then maybe they find a way to play Henderson 28, especially if Lilith and Morant are in and out of lineups. That's a little bit of a tougher one, but it does help, both from Morant and Kamara. It does help that change sharps out. And Drew Hall day's going to be playing a lot more, there's a backup behind Denny and behind Kamara. But they're all options there for the Blazers. We go to the Kings. Zach Levine is available in a lot of these late drafts. Who knows what they think of him, what the role is for him, where he is. He's still a pretty good offensive player. And if they just say what he's playing, we're going to go for wins. We want to stay out of the relegation zone. Levine is the guy to get them there, not Lee Clifford. Not even Darius A-Cuff. Who you want to see? I probably should put A-Cuff on this list as well, but I think, well, no, I should have. That's my bad. A-Cuff is on this list. Just imagine him there. Maxime Reyno, I'm less interested in this, but if you believe that they're just going to marginalize subonus, then fine. But otherwise, how? I had somebody in my comments on YouTube, so that Dylan Cardwell is going to be a top 100 player. But again, how? How does the third string center, let alone the backup center, do this? Another one there is Ben Simmons. I don't-- I don't feel good about it. But 27 minutes of Simmons, 6.65 with 1.5 steals and maybe 0.8 blocks on 58 shooting. That can help some teams. It's more of a deeper league pool, though. I didn't think any real spurs. I don't think-- I think different vessels moving into Harrison Barnes, Territory to Buyers, Harris is into Buyers, Harris Territory. Julian Champagne is probably not going to find the minutes. So let's go to Toronto. Yuck a portal is available very late. If Yuck a portal plays 28 minutes, and the back was the thing that caused the blocks to drop, then that's top 70. Easy, easy pick. And then RJ Barrett, who is constantly derided for categories, I understand why. He's going to start. He's going to play 30 plus minutes. Yeah, like the usage probably drops with Kauai there, but they're going to manage quite a bit. I'm very OK with RJ Barrett. In Utah, Darren Peterson and Ace Bailey. Do not be surprised. Be annoyed, but do not be surprised if neither starts and it's semi-look. I don't think that'll be the case, but don't be surprised. Peterson, as a rookie guard, I know. I get-- people think that I hate Darren Peterson. Also, the player that I had as number two in this class, number two for dynasty, I can only go one spot higher. I'm just not going to do that. Peterson will find it a little hard to get enough usage. And also, again, I don't actually care what players say. I don't care if a player comes down and say, oh, it's the closest thing to Kauai and he's comparing to Kobe. Cool. Bradley Beale compared very Huchamura to Kauai Leonard. Not quite on the money there is it. Not quite knocking it out. I do not care. Players who are the worst evaluators of talent, what they say, not in a million years. I don't see how Peterson can have enough efficiency with enough usage this season to be a great pick. But late rounds, we're in. And we do the same with Bayley, even though I don't believe he's going to start. And most of his good stuff came last season when everyone was out. I'm not as high on Bayley long term as most others are, but we can take the chance. And lastly, we got to Washington. I don't think we even bother with Bilal Koolabalee here, or Tray Johnson. But I do think we bother with Keisha and George. I think he's going to start. Now Keisha was great last season. He tailed off dramatically. And playing alongside Debansa, Tray Young, Anthony Davis, and Alex R. means that he is the fifth offensive option, which does make it difficult. But again, if you're scrounging around in your later rounds, maybe we just see what he can do. Heading into year three, maybe he can be good. Maybe. And that is a lot of late round flyers. Probably close to 50 names. I'll say 50, just so I can put it on the thumbnail. 50 late round flyers to guarantee, guarantee. You win, you win, you're league. Double bang, thumb it up. Podcast Summary

Key Points:

  1. In late rounds of fantasy drafts, players with ADP or rankings at 115 or lower across major platforms are ideal targets for upside swings.
  2. The podcast emphasizes taking high-risk, high-reward flyer picks in rounds 10–12, especially when a player has a chance to start or see increased usage due to injuries or roster shifts.
  3. Players like Keegan Murray, Jeremiah Fierce, and Brandon Pajemski are highlighted as viable late-round targets due to potential starting roles or usage spikes.
  4. Value is derived from identifying players who are undervalued, overlooked, or affected by injuries, allowing for upside potential in fantasy scoring.
  5. The strategy includes both statistical criteria (ADP/rank outside top 115) and situational context (e.g., coaching changes, injuries, or rotation shifts).
  6. Late-round flyers are especially effective in formats with small benches or where players are projected to earn significant minutes in specific matchups.
  7. Players such as Yegor Yoman, Cam Johnson, and Ev Misi are considered due to defensive improvements, size, and potential for rebounding or blocking upside.
  8. The core philosophy is not to guarantee success but to take calculated risks on players with wide performance variance, balancing potential upside with known team dynamics.

Summary:

FAQs

Late-round flyers involve targeting players with ADPs or ranks at or below 115 in at least one of ESPN, Yahoo, or FanTracks. These players offer upside potential, especially in rounds 10 to 13, where draft value drops and bench slots become available.

Players like Keegan Murray or Jeremiah Fierce may start unexpectedly due to injuries or coaching changes. While their usage is uncertain, they offer a chance for top-100 performance if they get significant minutes, making them viable late-round flyer targets.

Yes, Brandon Pajemski is a late-round flyer because he’s starting in preseason and has low ADPs across major platforms. Even if he doesn’t get major minutes, he could provide consistent value in a top-100 season.

Yegor Yogan is a second-year player with improved size and shooting. While last season was underwhelming, his projected minutes and offensive upside make him a flyer target, especially if he gains more minutes and three-point volume.

Players like Cam Johnson or Dan Gafford are risky due to injury history and limited usage, but they can provide value if injuries occur or if minutes increase. Taking a flyer on them is acceptable if you're targeting upside in a late round.

Keisha George was a strong performer last season but saw a drop-off. With a new rotation in Toronto, he may gain playing time as a fifth offensive option. Late-round drafting him is a gamble, but it offers potential for a top-100 season.
