60m 18s
The host shares a mix of personal anecdotes and professional updates, detailing his upcoming comedy tour stops in Salt Lake City and Rochester, New York, with a special note on the excitement of returning to Rochester. He reflects on the emotional depth of sports fandom, especially his strong allegiance to the Chicago Bears, highlighting memorable game experiences, such as a pivotal playoff moment where a last-second play created intense silence and celebration. He discusses the dynamics of competition in both comedy and football, emphasizing that real fans support others’ wins even when they disagree. The host also shares humorous stories of fan interactions, including a moment when a Bears fan’s family made a significant impression during a game and another where he lost his voice from screaming. He reflects on the absurdity of football culture, including rivalries, coach controversies, and the emotional highs of comebacks. He jokes about the idea of an NFL coach being hired based on video game expertise, suggesting it’s a fun, if ironic, possibility. Throughout, the tone is passionate, personal, and laced with humor, blending sports passion with comedy and fan loyalty. The conversation also touches on broader themes like fandom, personal growth, and the emotional impact of live events, showing how sports and comedy intersect in the lives of fans.

Yeah, cuz that's what we're shooting for for mine Yeah, so we were thinking it was February and then I was like So I kind of wasn't like really excited about it I'm like maybe when we get to like January sure but then when they called it was like no We want to we want to we ready to put it out now and I was like now I'm excited now is but it's like I'm not thinking about it though because I got so much other shit that's happening before. Yeah, I'll tell you because of Mike Yeah watching it It's fucking awesome cuz you're hilarious And I love nothing more than watching a funny-ass comedian. Yeah blow up in a way cuz you're like. Yeah good Good. Yeah, good stuff gets over you go. This is good. Yeah, this is good Cuz you know, I probably said in fact me and Katie were talking about this before the podcast How much comics? It's such a weird game Because you like want your people to win, but you want good people to win Yeah, then you can't be a dick when people you don't like win win. Oh my god You got to be quiet. You got to be quiet. Just go like, oh, that's great. Congratulations, man. You did it But you know, I mean you've been the sketches blew up. Yeah, stand-ups blowing up. Yeah, you're on the new Tyler Perry show Yeah, you got I mean the stuff with the bears is crazy. Oh, yeah, and the season is about to start back Are we ready man? I think this is I think we going out the way. I'm a 49er fan Oh, y'all got it. You're a son and I football. That was a good game. That was our best game. That was our best game of the season I'm by the way. I'll personally it was y'all deep pants played where we played five six and seven string linebackers We were so injured. We were having guys off the street. Well, do you love Caleb? I love him. It's so fun Isn't it? I love him. We get a quarter back and it works Can I tell you and how old are you 36? Okay, so I'm 43 some about seven years old and you I don't know if you remember the 49ers in the 80s. I know I seen I watched the old days. You guys were terrifying. Yeah, the bears were terrifying. Yeah, cuz you had dick up But you had single Terry who ended up coaching us. Yeah, buddy Ryan at the I remember the single Terry did go over there You know what? Single Terry is the is he really turned that franchise around Dude, he got Patrick Willis. He got an avarrow bowman He fucking got him to play hard and then what happened is his hardball just came in came in and just it is juffled it a little and we're No, yeah, but single Terry one of my favorite press conferences of all time can't win with him Can't win with it. He came out here and freaked the fuck out. That was one of my favorite. That is an all-time Every time he did a press conference even though I wasn't a 49ers like I will watch in that phone Just to see like what he was gonna say cuz he was so militant. He was so I wanted him, but I like I like Ben Johnson now I met him for the first time at practice last week and the first thing I said to him was a You're a maniac. Yeah, you know what that kind of like what he did with you guys in the Lions Oh my god because he comes from the Lions comes to the Chicago Bears, and then he goes like fuck Lions I love that quick. I love that neck is in the day and age of everything being Corporified and everything being safe so you can get all this advertising money to have a coach go fuck that We don't like them. They don't like us, and if they do like us, they're not about to like us after this How much does that hype you up for both of us? It just gets you firing up. It's like it's like it's like damn We got a coach, you know because you know Chicago over the years that we just they was hiring all these soft-spoken coaches Yeah, you know, we had love he smelled love he smelled was a he was a good football coach. Superbowl He got to say superbowl, but he but he didn't he didn't he didn't have that that that that bite to him So like dick ahead. Yeah, like Ben Johnson has now then we have Matt Eber Flues He didn't know what he was doing John's like he got he got the wrong job like he showed up and they're like you're the head coach Chicago Bears And he's like oh, yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah Well, yeah, he went on indeed and just said I can do it there. Yeah, he didn't know what he was doing John Fox didn't care John Fox though was that before or after Denver? That was after he left Denver It was after Denver. Yeah, remember like a heart problem in Denver Yeah, and I was like I can't coach. He's like I'll come into the Bears and then he came yeah, and he didn't care Yeah, so when you grow up growing up in Chicago What was the list of teams? Importance wise was it because you're growing up during the Jordan era in the 90s So it was definitely the bulls bulls were number one bulls the Bears in the 90s who are now that that's how you guys were actually pretty shitty Yeah, yeah, Jim McMahon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was fun. Yeah, so we go. Oh, no, you had Jim Harball. Yeah, Jim Harball. We also we'll go bulls Cups Bears Socks, okay, so you Blackhawks are I don't I don't really remember much about the blackhawks them talking about the blackhawks That much in the 90 but well, I remember 1994 NHL 94 on second genesis Chicago blackhawks were illegal because you had Jeremy Ronick. That was the best thing on there dude Smoke people if you had the blackhawks It was unfit you it would start fights with me my friends here. I ain't want to play with the mighty ducks Nah, man ducks. This is this is crazy. No blackhawks. You know, I think people but this is kind of glad you said that but Those hockey games how fun are fun those guys I'm gonna tell you guys that a lot of people are probably sleep on the hockey games and FIFA So that is literally the two ways I got into hockey and soccer playing a video game playing video game Because then you understand it you understand how moves because you you're playing the game the FIFA game had me like I you know when they just did the World Cup. Yeah, bro, and I download it bro the FIFA game like it had me like locked in I'm like this kind of Yeah, you kind of like and then you know Well, you go on PlayStation and they can see what you playing on my homeboy's like, yeah, what's up with you, man? Like you playing FIFA. All right. Are you dating the time man? I had to cut Like you cut this off. I know what I know when I'm online because I'll know when I'm here off on yeah, cuz I normally only play Madden sure I'm a big like when you do madden always the bears always I've never I've never played with another thing you never so I was you know only 49ers. Yeah, I'm running a dynasty only 49ers And then one of my friends I grew up with since seventh grade is an NFL coach He became the head coach of the dolphins Mike McDaniel. I don't know Mike McDaniel. So I ran with he's a maniac too. Yeah, that's what I mean That's been my boy since seventh grade. He's a maniac I'm so excited to see what him and Harbaugh do and Los Angeles He's with the charges now he's having a fucking boy. I believe you but that was the first time I ran a dynasty With another team because I wanted to be my boy, you know, so you picked the dolphin. Yeah, I ran with the dolphin because I wanted to be Mike Oh my god dude if your friend is an NFL coach You got to run with that team. I feel like you do but I mean can I tell you this though? No, if you got friends in the NFL are you gonna play like I got friends when I play with a lot of different teams But I'm still going to play with Chicago But when I played the Niners in the dynasty, I was like, okay, did you simulate he was supposed to simulate that guy That's right. Mojo showing you Let Madden figure it out you know, you have to simulate that or you're not a real fan. You know what I would have wanted I would have played I would have I would have rather did the other way. I'd have rather played against the 49ers Smash the dolphins and then send it to Mike. Okay, I'm being like this is what I just what if I was coaching against you Just a habit 4-3 defense shut down your run You got trash ass shit coming out of the back of what I wouldn't that be a good movie though. Oh, yeah, just think about this right like You Become a NFL head coach with zero experience the only thing you bringing with you is your Madden Playbook Do you know that was a real thing that would happen like starting in like 2013 is dudes would Apply for jobs in the NFL as Madden is there. I didn't know that and like people had to be like bro That's not that's not what they would go. No, no, I like play online like I'm like legit and I run like this kind of playbook There's like you can look it up there. It became a point that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers said something That they were like hey don't apply if you've only just played Madden, but that's crazy because guys are good on it online About great at it and then you don't realize that's like I don't know now is new Madden Because there is a lot of check downs. Bro. There's new Madden if you
You know how to play that. And you know how to, like you understand the terminology and they got all this stuff where you could plaster the receivers and they got all this stuff now. If you can play that, you might, you might can coach an NFL. - You know what's funny is I'm talking shit about this. And this is like one of those conversations they're gonna clip in five years when the first madden guy gets a job. - Get the job. - And they're gonna go, "Mojo is right." - Yeah, that's right. - And I'm like this. - That's right. - And I'm like that white guy with the vein down my forehead. - Get the fucking dude out. - Well, it is crazy just to play because when you're playing a video game, you do feel like you know it. - Yeah. - Now the crazier one would be if you became an NHL coach off just playing NHL. - That would be 'cause I know I wouldn't know what to do. - But it would also be sick just to have black culture be in the NHL in a very real way. - The only thing I'm gonna say is, what is this? - Yeah. - That's the only thing. - But then it's awesome. You go, I'm gonna tell you right now, the Black Hawks are fun to watch. Number one, no one fucks with them. Their gear is off the charts. - Out of the time. - There you go. And the intro song. - And they skate the smoothest we ever seen. - You guys do the roller ring. - Yeah. - Oh my god. - That's how we come out tonight. - You guys go in the circle and clap. - We spin it around. - Oh my god. - Just like Casey and the Sunshine. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah. - All the kids are like, what the fuck are they doing? - Hey, man, it's so funny. - That's a good idea. - You guys roll the rink in the blanket. - Now when I apply for the black house. - Yeah, dude, but you know what? What I think it's really cool about it is, being so proud of being Chicago coming up and blowing up and having the ability to do stuff with the bears. - Yeah, oh man, you know what? Like, that's like a dream just come true. If anybody, if you like a real fan of your team, then you get the opportunity to be around that team and the capacity that I am around the bears, it's like, I mean, you know, after practice, me and Caleb just on the field talking to me and me and him and his mom. - That's awesome. - And it means now, it's actually gonna increase your fandom, 'cause now you go, I know that guy. Now I'm like really, you know, invested into this. Like, I see him and how we feeling. - Yeah. - Yeah, man, like, you know, how we looking at this year? He's like, and you know, he told me, he was like, "Rough for the next 15 to 20 years, I'm gonna be trying to win a Super Bowl every year." - Yeah, that's incredible. - Like, I had a conversation, 'cause you know, sometimes, but we didn't have a quarterbacks and I wanted to know, like, man, what the hell is he thinking? Like, Jay Cutler, I wish I could have sat down with him a couple of times, 'cause I love Jay. - I mean, dude, I'm gonna tell you right now, he had a gun. - Bro, he had a fucking arm. - He could throw about 60, 70 yards on the rope, bro, just-- - It's just easy. - Like Caleb got a arm. He had a throw against the 49ers, bro. - Oh, I remember. - He didn't even look like he just flicked his wrist, bro. - Is that what the one that DJed more? - No, that was the one that Luther Burton, like, right down the middle. I think he had got behind the defense, but it was like-- - I remember that throw. - He just flicked it, it was just like, just to flicked. - He was funny as my brother and sister-in-law live in Chicago, so I was in Chicago during that game, and we were driving out the next day, back to wherever we were going to ever, and I had my niner hat on, and just old Chicago dudes. - Oh my God. - Now that the bears are good, just having a guy go-- - I like your hat. - And they go, "What?" And he goes, "You got that one. "You're not gonna take it in the playoffs." - Like the way he was, I was in a Dunkin' Donuts, and he goes, "I like your hat." - And it turned around, and I was like, "No, you don't. "I can tell you don't like my hat." I was wearing an hangar's hat. I was like, "Here's the thing with the bears. "They're gonna come back, and they're gonna be fucking awesome." - Well, no one believes like a bears fan. - Yo, but that's also Chicago, 'cause you guys have outside of the Cubs in 2016. - And the socks in '05. - Oh yeah. - Who's your manager? Who's your manager on that white socks team? - Oz again. - Oz again, I fucking love. - Oz again. - He used to talk crazy. - Crazy, yeah, he still does. - Oz again was-- - They just retired his number, too. - But now you gotta look at it now. The Cubs and the white socks right now, both for good. - Both head of the Cubs and head of the Central, you know? - The Cubs and the-- - The white socks were leading them. - The white socks were everywhere in first place. I don't know, you know, they played baseball so much. But I just went to the cross-town classic last week, the Cubs versus socks, and I ruled for both. - Oh, there's people at home that are mad about that. You know that. - I ruled for both. Man, I'm a Chicago guy. - But-- - But-- - If you had-- World Series, hypothetically. And you have to pick. Who do you pick? - Man, you know, the white socks have treated me really well this year. - Okay, great. - And so have the Cubs. - Oh, no, you can't back end it, there you go. But also-- - So what I would do is I would put on a jersey, half white socks, the other half Cubs. - Oh, like you're a mom of the real two brothers playing. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - You have to have fun with Jersey. - Yo, it's my boys, I just love my boys. - I don't know, who's that was. - The Travis Keele. - Yeah, the Keele. - The Keele. - You know what the craziest one was? Of that, the half jerseys. Back in like two. - To talk about. - Yeah, but the craziest one that no one talks about is back in the day, fiesta ball. It was Notre Dame versus Ohio State. Brady Quinn was the quarter back of Notre Dame. AJ Hawk was the linebacker from Ohio State. - Right. - AJ Hawk's sister, married Brady Quinn, and she wore a shirt that was half Ohio State, half Notre Dame. But what's crazy about that is, your brother's just about to sack your husband. - That's it. - So it's like, you don't want to wear both, 'cause you don't like, leave him alone. - How do you cheer for that when he sack 'em? - Yeah, you go, ah. - And I mean, if I'm AJ Hawk, I'm trying to kill you. - Yeah, you're also like, you're fucking my sister? I'm like, kill you. - I'm gonna come unchecked. - Yeah. - You're gonna let that ball go. I'm still gonna hit you. - I'm gonna hit you. - Like we're in the eighties. - Give me the flag. - Fuck you. - But if you're gonna argue Riggly versus Komiski, I mean, come on. - Here's the thing. - Glasses came off. That's how you know it's a serious question. And there's like a senator hearing. He like, when a senator took a simple fuck into his water, I'd like to answer that briefly. - Here's the thing. My favorite team is the Bears. - Great. - The Bears used to play a Riggly. - Oh yeah, did they? - You didn't know that? - I did not know that. I don't know why I didn't know that. - Look at that. 49er fan, I came up with the Giants and the 49ers both being at Candleston. So I love that shit when the infield dirt was still there. - Where did they win Soul of Field? - I think they moved. It's a soldier field maybe in the 70s. - Okay. - Maybe in the 70s. - When they redid it. - Yeah, I was in the seventh grade. It was 2003. - And then they ended up in the whole thing. - They didn't really redid it. What they did was, they, the columns are still up and then they kind of made it more, like they just rebuilt shit around it. - Okay. - Yeah, basically put fake tits on an old lady. - Yeah, pretty much. That's exactly what they did. - Yeah, we got some good, they look natural. - Yeah, yeah, they big. - But she's old. - And it's a small, it's still the smallest stadium in the NFL. - Yeah, but I, I've never got to go there. - And I've really wanted that. - I'm gonna tell you for the experience, I've been to a lot of stadiums. I've been to Sofie in LA. - I haven't been to that. I'm going to that though. - That was nice. I'm going to Super Bowl there. - You're gonna go to Super Bowl. - We ever plan, I'm going there. I'm doing a show. I'm doing a show the Friday of the Super Bowl weekend in LA. - Oh, hell yeah. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - So, and then you're gonna go. - And that was awesome. - And the Bears would be there. - Think about that. - I don't know, man. 49ers owner just got caught with a hooker. - So, what that mean? - Well, I was a scandal going on now. Last time an NFL owner got caught with a hooker. 2017 New England Patriots. - The Patriots, Robert won the Super Bowl. - Yeah. - Ring income. - But it depends. - Ring loading. - Was it the same hooker? - It's like a special hooker. - It got to be a special hooker. - Secret. Look at them up. - Before I bust, will you give me a Super Bowl? - Yes, he goes. - Yes. - And you're like, "Ah, that's what's gonna make me bust." But I was like, "I rub it, never we are." Here's a weird, rich owner. He's got fucking barbells through his shit. - I think, I think, no, so, no, wait, wait. So I went to size of so-fi. - Okay. - Another good one is down in Tampa. - That's a fun one. - Lemon James. - Lemon James, let me tell you a good story about that one. - Hey, if you own a small business, you should be using Square. That's COC, DOC.com/soder. So my dad is a big-time Brady fan, and I think that was Tom's last year. Sure. So we go to the game and the bears get blown out, like bad. You guys are really bad. It was 2021. Or 2022? So you're the one that Super Bowls, it was, it was actually, I think it was, yeah, 2021. It was, it was, it was, 49ers lost Super Bowling in 2020, 2021 was when Brady beat my homes in the Super Bowling. Maybe that was the year. He broke a record that game, but it was a year after. Okay. So we fucked up the box that year because we had a good defense. Because y'all had a good defense. Yeah. So we were, we flew out to the game. I thought it was a game we can win, we just, it feels like quarterback. And I remember we had, we had great seats. But Raymond James say to him, you know, they got the big pirate ship. Yeah. And they shoot the cannons, bro. They have a base score of so many points, because they shoot the cannons every time they score. Do they shoot them like just once or is it like boom, boom, boom. So they fucking let them go, bro, every time they score. So you got to think they ran out of shit to shoot them. I had the worst headache when we left, because we were sitting right, but we were sitting right about a ship and they got blown out. We couldn't even get a fucking first down. It was horrible. Yeah. And it started raining. It was getting where it started. I was like, Pops, we get, we can go receive loving it. He was loving it. He was loving it. But he did say he wished that the game would have been more competitive. Because we've been to some good NFL games were like, it's been competitive. But I've been to games and seeing the Bears get blown out. Maybe like, like last year we went to the second game of season. They played Detroit. It was like 52 to 21. Oh my God. Going to a different city and watching a blow out sucks. So bad as a sports fan because you go and you're like, fuck, I went, when Kyle Shanahan took over the 49ers in 2016, McDaniel went with him. So I grew up in Colorado, a 49ers fan because of my dad. And then it was all Broncos, but I stayed, go Niners, McDaniel was a Broncos fan. He gets, you know, coaches in the league for 15, 16 years ends up in San Francisco. For me, it was like, oh yeah, this is the greatest moment of my life. So, so I wanted to go as many games as possible. First season, there were 0 and 7. They're playing in Philly. A bunch of my friends are Eagles fans and they're like, well, drive down, driving rainstorm, that doesn't stop. 49ers lost 38 to nothing. Oh my God. And I'm just sitting there and it's just raining. They want to have it. You have hope. I want to see McDaniel on say what's up to McDaniel because that was like the first time I was going to be near him that season. Yeah. And I did have hope. Yeah. I was like, we're going to turn this shit around. We're going to get a win. Why do we feel like that? Like, what, what, what does it make sense to believe? Because if you don't, you just go, why am I doing this? It's especially when they stop. I think it's a sickness, man. Yeah. But, you know what? Because it pays off. It pays off. When they start winning. Yeah. And I told Caleb, I said, hey, all I want is that when you win a Super Bowl, just make sure that they bring me on the, on the floaty. Yeah. When we do the parade. Oh, the parade. So would you rather, here's a good, would you rather, would you rather be a part of the parade through Chicago or beyond the podium when they get the trophy? A thing. Because you're going to be at so far, hypothetically, bears go to the Super Bowl. They win, but you only get one. You can be in the parade, saying what's up to everybody, or the podium at the Super Bowl. Do you remember when they wouldn't let Kevin Hart on the podium? I remember. Big James was like, it was the funniest thing in the world, the big J. Big James, like, could not get up there. And he's like, I'm up there. And the guy was like, you're not going up there, but now I think he would easily be able to. I think that year he should have easily been able to go up there. He was just as bad. I mean, he was like, he might have been like, but I don't think he was associated with the Eagles as much as he is right now. No, he was. That whole season, he was talking shit. But I mean, listen, now, but I can say it, and I know Keith Robinson, and I know Big J. Yeah. History shows that Kevin wasn't the biggest eagle fan back in the day. Whoa. He used to pick the giants on Madden. He was like, wait, wait, I see him tonight, wait, I see him tonight. I'm telling you all I'm saying is I have insider information from the big J. Oh, and I just out to Keith Robinson the other day and Keith and Keith would go, he always played one of them. He sounds just like. I hate it. I hate it. Keith will. Keith will every time I see Keith now, I call him, he goes, I hate the 49ers. He sounds just like, he sounds just like Keith, he's one of the reason he's on the earth. And I used to do. That's the comedian. I won't say his name because I want to talk shit, but he's, you know, he's pretty light footed and Keith and I were yelling. He's pretty lightfooted. Keith and I were yelling at each other about the NFL. This is before Keith Strokes, so he was fucking screaming at me, and we're yelling at each other about two bets that we made. Yeah. And he's like, I fucking hate you. And he's going to slip in. And he goes, what are you guys talking about football? Like that? And I remember Keith going like this, and I hate it right back, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever made in life in my life. He fucking, he didn't give that time a day. He just went, yeah, like that. It was so funny. He's the best, but yeah, give it fucking Kevin Hart, but I'm going to give us some shit about that. I heard you played with the Giants back when you played with that man. Yeah, I'm going to tell him some last thing, and that's the first thing I'm going to write this. That's not going to solve it, you know what I'm saying, that's like, mojo, mojo, mojo, mojo. You can't believe everything you hear, man. You can't believe everything you hear. Which is, because you know what it is, you're always playing with the Bears. Yeah. I'm playing with the 49ers. Yeah, I play with Alex Smith. Yeah, I play with Tim Rite. Bro, I play with JTosoven. Listen to me. I play with Rex Grossman. Yeah. I play with Calvin. I play with Calvin. Keep going. Well, I play with Calvin. I play with Jason Campbell. Come on. Justin Fields. I play with Josh McCown. Come on. Well, I mean, and now you got killed, you know what I'm saying, bro, I've been playing man in all these years. We've never hit a quarterback with a 90 rating or better, like you're a 93, and then what it feels great is, when you're a team that you've loved forever, it's so good, they become illegal on Madden when you're playing with your friends. I can't wait. They go, no, no. We need one more year before, right now, they got us still at like a 83, but I think next year, after we do what we about to do today in NFL this year, we're going, we're going to be up in the 90s. First time the, after the, the playoff run where cap blew up and then the next season, that Madden team was illegal because Cap had 90, the defense was insane, but Cap and it had like 96 speed. Yeah. Because you know, they, they, the whole RPO shit started with him. Yeah. That was exactly it. By the way, Harball used to bring him in when Alex Smith was still the starter just to run RPO and just be like, keep it and you can run. So I remember that was the first year I booted up Madden and someone was like, you can't be the Niners, you know, like Cap and Nick was, was, he was fun to watch. And you, you know what, and all due credit, you know, who figured him out, Ed Reid, Super Bowl 47. He figured it out. Ed Reid was like, Oh, this kid can't throw a touch. He can't throw. He just throws straight fastballs. So Ed Reid just cut him off, intercepted him and then the next week, year we came back, everyone was like, everybody was doing it. Everyone did it and you're like, Ed Reid figured his ass out and I was like, God, and expose him. Yeah. And that's what it was like at first, it was like, this dude, it seems like the 49ers always get something like that. You just get just random. God, I don't know where like Brock party World War One face. Yeah. I'm telling you, you know what? I'm still, I'm still on the, he's not that good train, Mojo. I'm sorry. You watch that Sunday night football game. I did not. I actually had a show. So I was, I was okay. I was real convenient. I was on the stage, dude, I was on the stage, we're going to screen it, bring it up. I was on the highlight. I think he's, I think he's good, but I think it's that.
system, bro. I fucking think right now I can go in there and run that system the same way that Debraga run it, much talk to Chicago native Jimmy Garoppolo about that. How that went. He had his run though, but that was the defense. That's Robert Salas defense. He played well. I think Brock Purdy. And by the way, as a foreign man, I'll admit this. I love him being underrated. Underrate the fuck out of him. You think he's good. I think he's unbelievable. So you think he's top five in the league right now. I mean, my home's Alan Lamar. My what my home's Alan Lamar. Herbert maybe. That's four. Yeah, I put Brock at five. I think Caleb's on his way. Caleb is he's in the top team for sure. Okay. I would safely put Brock in the top 10. Yeah. Okay. Safely put. Yeah. If I had to build around, if I had to build a team. Let me tell you what he does. Just as somebody because you're like me. I watch every snap. I watch every preseason game. I watch everything we got going on. Hey, guys, um, life insurance is super hard to figure out, but that's why ethos is there. It makes getting life insurance fast and easy 100% online. Brock Purty is just, is what I can say about him. Doesn't have like the craziest arm. Doesn't do the craziest moves. He just wins. You know that sounds like Tom Brady. It sounds like Tom Brady, but he hasn't won the big one. Got close. We got it. And I'm, I'm going to do that. You know what? They should, that's the year you got hurt, right? No, that was the Eagles blew out his elbow his the first year. They win a one that year. But also as someone that was at that Super Bowl, me and Che went out to Vegas for it. They call holding, I think the 49ers beat the chiefs. Go back and look at that overtime game we lost. And I know chiefs fans watching this. Like, they straight up tackled Fred Warner on a play and did not call holding. There was no holding calls on arguably the best defensive line the 49ers have ever had. You're talking about Nick Bosa, you're talking about our, our tackles were nasty, our lineback and core. Drake Greenlock got injured at the beginning of the game. That's fine. They did not call any holding on the chiefs that whole game. Where were they holding? Like a motherfucker to the point that I was screaming so much. I got horse being like, oh, yeah, they were just holding. I mean, Bosa and who was, who was the dude that played with him at Ohio State that went to the commanders after? Fuck, I forget. The DN that was, he's nasty. Are you talking about? I thought he was way, I thought he was over there. I thought he was watching him first. He went to Washington after the 49ers. He was in, he was in New Orleans then he got dealt not chase young. Oh, no, but it's he was in New Orleans. Oh shit. This is going to bother me. And he went to the 49ers. Can you look up defensive end that played with Nick Bosa at Ohio State? And we'll edit this. So me and Mojo look. So we look like we know what we're talking about. Chase Young, you are right. No, you're right. It's Chase Young. That's the problem. If you go to a Super Bowl, not right now, if you go to a Super Bowl, I went, I went last year and your team loses. No, no, no, I never went for my team. Wait, I went and I'm gonna tell you something. I went last year and I was disappointed. Yeah. Um, where was in Santa Clara's in Levi's San Francisco? Yeah. Well, Santa Clara called that San Francisco. You're right. You right. It's like like an hour away. It's like calling where the Giants play in New York City. Was it chase young? It was chase young. You nailed it. See that? Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, that chase young Nick Bosa, we had a crazy defensive line and they didn't call holding. And when you go to a Super Bowl and your team's in it, it's not fun. It's not fun. It's not fun. I mean, it's not, it's not fun when your team not in it. Like I went last year to watch Seattle and, and New England. Yeah. And I think a little bit of it had to do with that was just, it just, the game just wasn't very good. It was boring. It was very boring. It was, it, being there and then starting in cold, like it was like that fucking. He started, you know, the, we sitting on one end of the stadium first, the wind blowing that way. Now it's coming back this way. And it was just, and it wasn't like freezing, but it was like 50 degrees cold. Like, you know what it is? The corporations, they send all their people and it just distills it. It just makes it like a cocktail party for a bunch of rich people. That's what the same like football game going. Yeah. That's what it seemed like. It was just, it wasn't as, yeah, I don't know, bro, like I went to that Bears Rams game, playout game. I mean, dude, that's, bro, I've never experienced anything like that. So the year, I went to two Super Bulls, both the 49ers ranked, both of them lost. So Niners fan know, I will never go to a Super Bowl to the 49ers. Yeah. You do reason why they lose it. That's, but hey, I admitted that you got to take accountability when it's there. And I did thank you. Thank you. I said that on Rich Eisen show. Yeah. I said, I'm never going to a 49ers Super Bowl again. Yeah. And everyone's like, that's fucking stupid. And then people who are like, 49ers fans are like, thank you. The real fans know you the problem. Yeah, I'm the problem. So let's remove yourself. Let's see if something changes. If it does, then you stay home. This is exactly what I'm saying. This is the logic, mojo. And I, you know, I started to feel like that though. Like it was some Bears games. I was going to it was like, fuck, every time I come, we lose. Then I stay home and now this miraculous shit happened. Caleb doing all the, bro, listen, I was at that Rams game. And before he threw that last pass up the tight, they sent the game in an overtime, bro. That was that DJ Moore touchdown. No, that was to co-commet. How many, how many game any winning, winning touchdowns that you guys have last year, but like seven? That's what I want to say. But I'm saying that the, remember the playoff game. It was four, it was like four for nine and Caleb hikes the ball. And it's those he hikes it. He just started running backwards. I remember that. And then he stopped and he throws the ball. Those are techno Super Bowl play, bro. I remember sitting in the, because we was in the, I was sitting up in the box. And his parents were sitting like right in the box right next to us. And bro, it was so quiet. It was fourth down. And see that we get it. It's over. We don't. And we, everybody sitting there. And as soon as he snapped the ball and we started seeing him going backwards, it was like, what are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing? It's over. Yeah. We threw it up. And when the ball went in the air, bro, it got so quiet. It was quiet. It was just like how it got quiet. And everybody was looking. And then we kind of see commit break open. And he catches the ball. And bro, just, I mean, it's cold and shit out there, but the state, I mean, they lose, I mean, we losing it in there. Because your at soldier field, it's unbelievable. Playoff game. You have a playoff game. This is going to NFC championship. And, and I think if we win it, we beat the Rams. And then we go and we beat the Patriots. I can put it agree. I can put it agree. I think you beat the Seahawks. I think we beat them. And I think you beat it. And that's who I was cheering for. Because I hate the Seahawks. Yeah. I bet you do anybody, but them in our fucking stadium. Damn. So now we got a little bit of a problem. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got a handle business. We got a handle. I don't know though. I don't know that but I don't know how to see how--
Last year in an unbelievable I'm gonna say this He's a great coach, but last year in NFL at the with these last season the year was just weird Well, the cheese were bad like I like I love that after watching two shoe balls So I'm gonna tell you I'm gonna prepare you if you go to a Super Bowl And your team is in it. Okay, just keep this in the back of your head for when it happens. Okay, I hope it never does Okay, but if it does when your team loses my best piece of advice it's my my fiance used to work for ESPN She was the first one that got me the ticket when I went in 2019 when McDaniel's on the coaching staff leave before the confetti So if your team loses and you know they're gonna lose and there's like 57 seconds leave the stadium Because you do not want to be there when your team loses and another team's confetti Comes just raining down on you man because you'll want to fight the entire state You're like I am fucking Furious right now and it was because 2019 was different McDaniel was on the coaching staff. Yeah, I used all my delta miles I'm flying New York San Francisco every weekend every weekend Staying at his house. You going every game? I was going well, I went to a lot But I went to every playoff game. I went to the divisional round against the Vikings Then I went to the NFC Championship game against the Packers. Mm-hmm. I'm glad y'all took care of that greatest I'm gonna tell you right now one of the greatest experiences of my life It was I'm there with one of my oldest me Mike and our friend Chad me and Chad go to all the games together Chad and I go we get tickets through like it's cool though. We're Matt the floor. Yeah, they're all cool They all come up to James. Yeah, but they don't like my boy Ben Johnson though. Oh, oh, well, that's cuz the floor in Green Bay That's real. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't think he has a problem with like the tree. I think like that's up That's a Packers bears. No, that's uh, like you know, he had his little thing because remember I think they were saying it It was like Because we beat we put Green Bay out the playoffs. Oh, I know and then Sean McVay Cuz he's part of that tree. Yeah, he came up and he and they said they were gonna take care of business because of how we have the Green Bay Yeah, so as you know, I feel like it's all of them against my boy. I love it. I do love it How much fun does it just make it so much fun? It's so much it's it's so dope that is down to the coaches though That the coaches that you should have so competitive. Yeah, that is down to the cuz it's really You got to think about these coaches. These are some of the best football minds in the world. Yeah, and by the way They have given themselves where you you and me have both given ourselves the comedy of just doing it Where you do it for so long that you go like oh, that's my boy. I like my mother. Yeah, yeah, I don't like that guys Yeah, okay, I don't want them to do well We can't do that in comedy cuz we look like psychopaths. We do but in the NFL you're like yeah, fuck that guy Yeah, I don't know cuz I guess it's it's comedy supposed to be competitive a little bit you think so I think a little bit I think it's good and by the way, let me let me say I think it's good to be competitive in the beginning Okay, I think you reach a level where you start working where it actually becomes a hindrance. Yeah, so I think you know Cuz they didn't we too worried about what other people are doing is is once you're at your level Why be competitive you're on your own track and you're doing it. Yeah, what are we doing once I started actually selling tickets I'm like not mad about anybody fucking I'm here. Let's do it. But football is based on competition and also it's based on like hurt feelings Yeah, the reason Ben Johnson and LaFlure hate each other hurt feelings hurt feelings and they're like mad by the way because they got us their first game. Yep, then we got them back and then the playoff game But when we got them back, we got them so good and that feel good. Oh my god I've been waiting for from behind And beat them because you know what did the beginning of the games is like man here we go the same old shit Fucking got us there but down 21 of six 21 of three what the fuck we can't we can never I'm like why can't we ever just jump on top of these guys just couldn't do it by a man where we came back I'm gonna tell you something last year was like That football season made it one of the greatest years of my life But doesn't that feel good and doesn't that give you hope this is what I try to explain in on sports fans is it makes the year Fun in an emotional way that you can't explain it where it goes like I'm literally Getting excited because the sun is setting earlier because all I know is footballs about football is about to be back like and The Rams in Australia on Thursday night 49ers will go on Australia for that. They shouldn't be going Okay, I think it's bullshit the NFL's sending us to a different hemisphere. I went to the UK to see the bears That's why I would do the UK. I would for nearest plane in Mexico. I would do that. Yeah Mexico Mexico City is a huge San Francisco hub. Okay, and Warner is half Mexican Fred Warner. Okay. He's like families from Mexico So I'd like want to see that yeah, but what I love about it is like there is a lot of my Germany. I don't think I'm going to Germany That's the point I know the NFL is the NFL is going to do that. I wouldn't I think if I Europe would be harder for me because I would just be like do I have the weekend off do I because like you know That's a hell of a flight to take like I when I did it. We left Thursday. We got there Friday and We were there Friday Saturday Sunday and we flew back Monday That's a good weekend though. Yeah, but as long as that flight is Yeah, I would you crazy about a week That's how I felt and that's how it is going to be again now that McDaniel's on the on the West Coast when he was with the dolphins It was easy for me. Yeah, but fly down and now I'm like you're not a charges fan But here's the thing. I'm a McDaniel guy. You don't support your boy, and I he's in the AFC Yeah, there's no we beat the charter, but what would you do though if they if they if they went to the Super Bowl? I guess 49ers. Yeah, who do you root for I'd pull a mojo? I don't have a half a fucking jersey on But you know what's funny about that. You can't do that. No, I'd go 49ers. You got to go 49 And by the way, were you had to tell McDaniel's a fuck off? When they played the dolphins his wife was like, are you coming down for it? And I was like I respectfully decline Because they know they know listen, I did that once like I had a homeboy that was playing for the Philadelphia Eagles Branding Graham. Yeah, all right, so he's playing for the Eagles and they were playing the Bears and this is when we had Miss Trebuski. This is like 2019 which probably you guys traded us to get yeah, and you gave us a shit ton of stuff Yeah, we gave we you guys gave us so much stuff I mean, we did and y'all got trail ends. Well, that was that was layman Thomas. That was later I found that Tom Thomas the detackled. Yeah, how does I think about that? Not well. Okay. He's with the Jets now. Yeah, so He go. Yeah, good trade. How did you guys go? I go? Oh, it's bust the tube. But we had a couple extra picks. So we got that we were we were in We were in Philly and Branda had got us to tickets or whatever So we couldn't I couldn't wear my bears gear now because when you get some people that don't know When you get tickets through a team they tell you Don't wear the other teams. Don't wear the same stuff. Even if you were a fan of the team like they'd tell you don't do it Anyway, I went through with McDaniel when he was in Washington when he was in Atlanta. Yeah, I'd go to 49ers games and I'd have to dress And playing playing clothes, but I'd always put a 49ers. I had less time. I need to But yeah, we Know you with us All right, come on bang bang night again We were in we were sitting so we were sitting we I mean great seats and at the time Jason Peters was the left tackle sure of the Eagles right so His family was sitting behind us. I think it was his brother and You know the bears were down and then we you know we can't wait out to have time took a deep shot down the field About 50-yard bomb tribusky throws to take the Gabriel and I mean we hadn't done shit the whole game. Sure Drops a bomb. I jump up. I let's go and I just hear this guy behind me say man sit yo as down I turn around and he like I'm not talking to you. I'm like you are talking. I'm gonna stand enough Don't be bad. Don't be mad at the curve. Yeah, I said out Um, and so far and then we they almost came back and one so now the game is over So I still don't know who this dude is. Sure. I don't even realize that we're sitting we're sitting amongst the family and friends of the team And so now it's the end of the game or Brandon brings us me and my dad and brings us down on field and they take us to the locker room And stuff like that and I'm seeing all the old bears player that's the play for the Eagles Jordan Howard was running back. He was with the bears. I don't know. What's up Jordan and I'll shine Jeffrey was with the bears. I'm you know, I'm talking to all the guys like I'm not talking none of the Eagles player Just the ones who used to play in Chicago. I'm saying shit like we miss you And uh, they so they take us out on the field and stuff and then we end up going to Have dinner like Brandon took us out to eat man And there's a bunch of the team members there and then I see Jason Peters and then I see the dude That told me to sit my hands down sitting right next to him. So we can really walk out and I tell him I said I knew he was talking to me and everybody just you know everybody just kind of had started laughing and You know Jason Peters he didn't know like he didn't really know what's going on because I still got all my stuff on it then Brandon Graham Tatham say yeah, he's a bears man. He thought they were going to win And it was just like I was just and I had to take it like I just had to sit there and go I had to take it I was like fucking wanted to think that I really I mean happy you kind of happy that
You kind of happy that the Eagles did win because if they didn't, I don't think we were going to dinner. If you ever been, you ever hung out with them when they lose? Bro, I had a show in Chicago two years ago when we got, we had Montess sweat. This was a year they fired April loose and I had a show that we were playing Green Bay. I had a show that night after the game. I'm at the game on the sideline. I'm like, yo, I got tickets if y'all want to come to the show. And Montess sweat was like, oh man, we in there, we in there. So then he go back workout, he comes back over to the sideline. I was like, all right, bro, don't forget, I'm about to take you after the show, after the game when y'all come to show. And he was like, let's see how this shit go first. And then I'll let you know if we're going to make it. And they lost on a miss field goal. They green Bay block the field goal. Bro, I was screaming so loud at the game that I lost my voice for the show. But I had two shows that night. Oh my god. And I swear to God, I thought we were going to have to cancel, really? Because I had no voice. Like, I fucking bears. I barely hear that. Like I would be talking to you. No, you learn to listen. Now I know like, don't ever do shows on game day. No, no, no, no, no, even if I do, on game day like, I got a, I just got a chill. You know what's funny is we have a, I'm doing shows in Canada and there's a Monday night game and I'm up in like, I think I'm in a wittin' pack and they were like, oh show sold out. You know, for the three days you're here, we're going to add shows and I was like, only Tuesday. And they're like, oh, no, like that's old out. We're going to do Monday. I go, man, no, no, no, Monday. And they go, why? Because I'm washed for a night and washed a night. And they go, no. So do your agents and stuff like, thank you, crazy when you say shit like that. Like, we plan on my January schedule out and I'm like, yo, just play off. Dude, so I'm not lying. I got a point in the team once I got that HBO special and I was able to start kind of playing on my shit. Yeah. And fans will tell you, I'm not on the road in January. That's seeing. Because honestly, and here's the thing, I don't know. I don't know. And they keep asking me, my agent, I was, I, I, you know, where is that? I'm like, I got first, I got to go to practice to see how we look. You know, we're staying healthy. Yeah, we healthy. I got to be there. I got to, I got to be there. You know what I mean? You know what? You know what? The most frustrating part about last year was we were winning. We was doing so good and there was so many Sundays, Sunday night games where I got shows. And bro, I remember we were in Houston. The first game against Green Bay, when they came back and beat him, we were in Houston. I had the 14 shows out there. I broke the record for the most shows at the Houston improv. I love it. Shout out to Houston improv. Yeah, a great club. I love that. I love Houston and I love that club. That club is fucking awesome. It's awesome. Yeah. So we, we back there, we, we in the back and my feature is on stage for me. Like the game now is went into overtime. And you, and that green room is like a couple of couches in the stage is like right there. Right there. So you're like, I'm hoping up to do it like, and I'm steady putting my finger out. Keep, keep going. Just keep, just keep going. She didn't win as long as she could. She's running out like, you know, you, you know, some comics. Everybody doesn't have an hour. You know, you know, you got, you know, when you find a comic that needs to feature a host of you, most of the time, those comics maybe a good one got 30 minutes. Yeah. A good one has 30 minutes. A good 30 minutes. A good 30. But most of them, you can keep them out maybe for 40, and then you're in trouble. Maybe. And then when she got to about 35, the check engine like came on. I started hearing music and shit. I'm like, what's going on out there? They sing a happy birthday to people. I'm like, what the fuck is that? DJ hitting my shit just to keep it alive. But as soon as they, as soon as Caleb throws the touchdown, the DJ more. And we score. And I know what's good. That was one of your six games where that happened. I do my post game video that I always do. I love that you're such a bears fan. You go, I can't go on stage as you said, so I do my post game. I do my post game video. I post it. Go on stage. Now, man, I'm on stage an hour. I come back off the stage. I'm so worried about making sure the video get posted that I'm looking over and my tour manager like, is it up? Is it up? Do they know that I know that we won? Like, is it up? Like, I'm like, and I don't want to go through that this year. I want to just watch like December after the first week of December. I think that's my last week of this first part of the tour. Then I'm off. And I'm. You know what? Is so much fun. When you do that yourself and it works out. I remember two seasons ago, I took that was like the first year I took January really off because McDaniel had gotten to the playoffs with the dolphins. So I go to the start here. Yeah. And they played in Buffalo. Yeah. And that day, the 49ers played the Seahawks and beat the shit out of them, check the fucking score. I think I believe it happened. And then, but that was like the first time I got to enjoy it where I was like, oh, and I flew up to Buffalo after the four, I watched the 49er game here. I'm going to Buffalo this year for a game. It's my stadium. They got new stadium, my buddy, one of my good, my, my good buddy. We played mad now all the time. His favorite team was Buffalo and you're going to take him to Landlord? We going. Going to brand new one. Yeah. We're going to go check it out. Yeah. And do you know what's just been great about this episode? Is it clear that you and I are so excited that it's almost full-blown season? That it is like. And by the way, I talked about shit else. I will. I know. I'm okay with that. And I know there are fans that go like, I don't like green chalk sports, but you go, you have to understand something about me. Yeah. I am brimming right now. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, man, and if you go out, you ever go out to training camp? Oh, I mean, yeah. I mean, with McDaniel, I used to go. Well, I used to go sit up in like the, with the crane, the cherry picker. Bro, when you go to the training camp and you stand there and you watch and you see and you get that feeling that you hear the pads and the helmets and shit hitting on each other. And you know, you just, you just see the guys so far and up and you look at the schedule and see who ass you got to whoop first. And like, it's just, you know what it is to me. It really feels like our version of Pucks and Tawny Phil is that, is that a Hall of Fame game because they go, Hall of Fame game happened. You go. It's time. It's time. Preseason. That's football to me. Bro, it seemed like it happened earlier this year. But it felt good. Did it feel good? Yeah. I was like, damn, we started early this year. You know, it was like getting done at a shitty job early. Yeah. Oh my god. We can cut out. This is fucking great. It feels like getting a half day in school. Yeah. You get to go home. Now you go. Are you sitting in the classroom and then they come over to intercom and they call you a name and say you come to the office? Yeah. Because your mom's here to get you. Oh, what? Today. And you're like, but I'm so excited for it. I talked. I'm no joke. I think yesterday I was getting ready to go edit the special and I'm like grabbing a shirt in my 49er hoodie. It was there and I just grabbed it and I was like, soon. The fact. I was looking. I got my eyes. It's just in the clouds. It's just just ready. Yeah. It is. I got all my big chains and stuff. I got my cheese grater had ready for when we play. I love that. And by the way, shout out the guy that made those cheese grater. Oh my god. Those are maybe a little over a year old, two years old. Yeah. And you know that guy's making fucking bad. He eating now. Because that shit is great. Great. I mean, they doing it on TV just like they was, they had real, I don't know if they was giving away at the stadium, but they had real cheese graters at the stadium. And then beat the Packers and the cheese and it's, it's the best, it's the best. Your special comes out October 7th, October 6th, Netflix, check it out. Mojo Brooks is fucking hilarious. He's blowing one up. You're going to love him. He's going to be a household name and you already are. Yeah. But it's just great to watch a really funny dude ascend. I appreciate it. And I'm sorry. The 49ers are going to have to beat the bears in the playoffs this year. I'm just really sorry about it. Well, I'm going to tell you this. If you guys have to come to Chicago, I'll be there. OK. We're getting to sweet. Oop. Oop. That's a deal. Oop. I'm holding it. That's a deal. They come to Chicago. We're in the sweet. And I'm going to be rocking my starter jacket. That's my nine year old starter jacket. I want you to wear that bullshit. Yeah. I want you to wear that. I want you to wear it. They are really different. Yeah. They are. Don't wear shit in the middle. They fucking want to fight. They want to fight. They want to fight. Between them and the Raiders. Yeah. But the Raiders are neutered now. Because this is a big area. They're in Vegas. They're all fucking done. They're retired. Get out of here. And by the way, that's the person who came out like that. They're done. And if you're a Raider fan and you're from the Bay Area, let go. Come to the Bay. Come to the Niners. I'm not Rick James thing right now. Come to the fucking 49ers. Because we did. We got a lot of the Raiders crew. They don't. So good luck fucking with 49ers fans. Well, I'm gonna tell you like this. If you guys got to come to Chicago in January in the cold off the lake. That's right. By the way, it is fucking brutal. Yeah, it's bad. And I remember the last time you guys came to Chicago. And we had a fucking tsunami at the soldier field. Yeah. You remember that game? I do remember that. You guys were one hand. And that's a few slit. I remember that. I came back and beat you. Yeah, I was in the rain. But last time we were there. Oh, no. The game was in Sunday night. Wasn't in San Francisco last year. Yeah, that's what you got us. Yeah, because I was gonna. I was saying I wish it was in Chicago because we were there. I wish it was. I wish it was. We'll wait for the playoffs. Yeah, none to talk about. No. See you there. Why are you there? October 6th. October 6th. Netflix. I'll make it go number one. Yeah, you do the man.
