49ers-Rams Start/Sit + BUY or SELL | Week 1 Fantasy Football Advice (09/09 Fantasy Football Podcast)

Fantasy football analysts dive into early-season roster strategies, highlighting players with low roster percentages—like Devon Vela and Adnaim Mitchell—as potential value additions in week one leagues. The Seahawks’ secondary vulnerabilities, including injuries to key defensive backs, make them a risky matchup, while the Patriots’ diminished receiving core creates an opportunity for players like Drake May. For the 49ers vs. Rams game, consensus leans toward starting Matthew Stafford over Purdy due to the Rams' stronger defense, despite Aaron Donald's absence. Tight ends like George Kittle and Jawan Johnson are seen as uncertain, with Kittle ranked mid-tier and Johnson considered a safe pick in full PPR due to matchup advantages. Analysts also recommend monitoring injury reports and lineup changes, especially for key wide receivers such as Mike Evans and Chris Bell, who may be limited early. A recurring theme is the value of early-season streamers and benching overvalued veterans. The discussion includes buyer-seller tips, such as purchasing Jake Ferguson in full PPR if LAM or Pickens get injured, and selling overvalued wide receivers like Drake London. Tyler Algier is highlighted as a strong, 63% rostered running back to consider in early weeks. Lastly, the show emphasizes the importance of staying updated on team dynamics, injuries, and coaching decisions, especially with major matchups like the 49ers-Rams game. The segment concludes with a reminder to tune into CBS Sports HQ for ongoing coverage and expert analysis.

This is Fantasy Football today from CBS Sports It's time to dominate your fantasy Lee Now you're some combination of Adam Dave Jamie and he It's up everyone today's Wednesday not like going on tonight one more day All right, just chilling playing fantasy football. Oh, it's week one. Let's go Yeah, there you go. It's 2026 took long enough Seasons here on a Wednesday Yeah, hey, you you feeling it you feeling this vibe? Really really excited We need a new team name in our leftovers league. Okay. Oh, I'll name it right now. Yeah work on that I've been going through a naming a few of my teams I haven't I haven't gotten very far. Yeah, same here. They've been a real right there. All right today We're going to talk about some roster trends players. We've been picking up Players who are barely rostered that you might want to add to your team, especially if you've got an open spot Someone's on IR pup News and notes San Francisco at the Rams game in Australia on Thursday We'll tell you who to start and sit how many 49ers can you trust we have an update on George Kittle and we'll do some buyer cell as well Who is your most rostered player? I'm going to throw it to the guy that has the spreadsheet that tells him who his most rostered player is and the segment is sponsored by Sam LaPorta It you know, it was it was it was a tight tight race all the way down to the stretch and redraft I actually end up with a tie between Sam LaPorta and Kyle pits But I do have more LaPorta and Dynasty than pits so as I I believe as I've looked at the rosters that is Sam LaPorta is the king This year, okay, there we go Sam LaPorta I finally got my first share of Sam LaPorta the other day and obviously I thought of you and I will think of you every time His name is mentioned on a broadcast Yeah, yeah, who's your most roster player? Who you get when which player are you going to think of me when their name is mentioned on a broadcast? Probably Jalen Waddle I Did not get as much Jalen Waddle as I thought I was going to same thing with Parker Washington I went through my teams first of all I'm in 14 leagues which I'm embarrassed by and Only like two of them I got Parker Washington. I don't even count how many I had Jalen Waddle and you know who I have a lot of is Drake May I ended up taking Drake May and a bunch of leagues. So tonight will be fun against Seattle Otherwise, I you know stashed Jonah Coleman and a ton of leagues I drafted James Conner and then immediately put them on the IR and a handful of leagues Courtland Sutton's on a bunch of my teams. So that's that's funny Talked up Waddle and it upset You know, I think just to revisit Tonight's games we previewed it yesterday, but I mean, this is a thin secondary now for Seattle because Doesn't look like even war is going to play another one of their starting safeties is out another one of their starting safeties is on the bears One of their on the IR on the IR one of their cornerbacks reek Willen is on the Eagles So they still have some talent there. They still have like probably three very good defensive backs But it's not quite the same. So and what else isn't the same the Patriots receiving core is definitely not the same AJ Brown is on this team Romeo Dobbs is on this team. They have taken over as the top two receivers. I expect them to be Targeted quite a bit and then you've got guys like Hunter Henry tomorrow Douglas still pitch in they were bigger parts of the offense last year And now this year they're going to be more of role players. So it's definitely interesting and I do think it's a much better Opportunity for Drake May than what he had to deal with limping into the Super Bowl last year with a beat-up offensive line Inferior receiving core. I think the Patriots win. I think may as a solid game Wow. Oh, I want to share that my bold prediction that I gave on on our HQ slash CBS Sports Network show yesterday I know it's an air on CBS Sports Network, but Same kind of show as Jamie will hop on here Um, excuse me. Just real quick. Would you start Matthew Stafford or Drake May Stafford Stafford Jamie Stafford. There. There he is Uh heath I believe especially now that the chiefs left tackle looks like it's going to be out I think the Broncos are going to absolutely stomp the chiefs and win by at least 10 points Monday I don't know if it will be I mean first off 10 points is not a stomping um, but Also, I think it it currently looks like the craziest line of the week to me that the chiefs are still two and a half point favorites Against a team that was better than them last year Probably did more to get better this year and the chiefs don't like have an offensive list This is I'm expecting like Tampa Bay Super Bowl All right, exactly. Yeah. Yes. Okay. Good. Um, all right. Uh, Jamie. Who's your most rostered player My most rostered player is probably a tie in some capacity because I don't know the exact number I did it's on the site of all the drafts I did prior to The slow drafts and the couple of drafts that happened this weekend. So it was probably like 20 of the 28 I did um, I think at that point it was Luther Burton DJ Moore Jonah Coleman Jalen Coker they were all like in the same six seven eight range of leagues Okay, good. I think we can retire six seven. I was going to do a six seven thing there But I think it's pretty much that's why I said eight. Yeah, I appreciate that Yeah, Dave and I both have 14 teams and we both are like gosh, we have so many teams. Jamie has that that combined 28 teams. How many for you? I have 28 teams 28. Wow, that's weird crazy 18 redraft 10 dynasty Okay, the dynasty ones are easier in season, right? I mean, oh, no, they're not you. I mean they are for they are for you Because all of your teams are tanking so you don't have as much there's not as much waiver wire Right, I mean, that's the that's the hardest part of fantasy is is when you have this many leagues is Tuesday night and Wednesday night They can all your waiver claims This might be why your dynasty james are tanking. No, come on. You can't tell me there's just many players to pick up in dynasty leagues There are some but not as many. Well, I mean, there's there's more trade Thought there's more, you know You know like he he's does a great job with the one dynasty league that he commissions or one of the two that he commissions And I'm in with him of Having as an IDP league sort of a lot of movement and on that front more so than the offensive players Okay, well, I can't speak to that if you had a guess if you can you call man is that team with me? Yes, sure if you had to guess my most rostered player There's I think it's a tie between two On a Christian McAfry and yeah, Devon to Smith Different Devon day Christian McAfry and Devon day Adams a lot of Devon day Adams. I am super old this year Drafted a team yesterday with McAfry Derek Henry Travis Kelsey and Devon Tay Adams. So Let's go. Sorry. I try pretty hard to make sure my most rostered player is not a first-round pick Um, that's like the one thing that I would like to not have happened because if I mean if Christian McAfry script Christian McAfry You're gonna have a very good year like you did last year Um, well, I don't know if you had a good year. It was okay. It wasn't okay. Yeah Um, but man like you can't if Sam LaPort is bad this year I'm not going to lose all my leagues because of it. Yeah, but if you a first-round pick is wrong Yeah, I agree So I did I did we talked about yesterday that I didn't have any sake one Barclay. I purposely drafted Barclay There you go Uh, who have you been picking up lately guys? It's ads and drops First of all go to your league and look for players that are on IR. I mean there's James Connors on IR You saw him in a few leagues. There's no harm. If you have the open IR spot. There's just no harm your guy Who Pacheco? Yeah, I mean you're not getting Pacheco gonna lead with me Malik Davis Okay, Chris Bell Talk Chris go Chris Brooks and George Alani been the three that I picked up the most. Yeah, Alani is a good one Now we gotta get him before the game tonight with Chris Bell He's 25% roster Caleb Douglas is 28% roster these two guys were listed as the starting wide receivers For the Miami Dolphins they are at Las Vegas at San Francisco Kansas City to start the year those are secondaries that might be a little suspect here And those are you know at least San Francisco and Kansas City could be scoring points on uh, well, maybe greater too Anyway setups not bad here for for this dog maybe Yeah, um, who do you uh Who do you prefer between Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell? Bell It's Bell but yeah I think Doug was I think they said the Dolphins listed too many starters on their starting offense. They have 12 starters listed So one of those wide receivers He's they're pulling out all the stops Well, I'm the league just decided you know they can play with 12. Yeah Okay, um, I've been picking up Devon Veyley. He is 6% roster and Jalen Noel is 5% rostered And I think if you look at the Saints and the Texans you have basically the same situation the number two Receiver Jalen Higgins and Jordan Tyson are out We like the tight ends as kind of late-round picks or week one streamers basically on last year, John Johnson has a much better matchup than Dalton Schultz. But then you got these other receivers that might do something. Devon Vela had five to eight targets in four straight games to end his season. And yeah, I'm pretty much, I'm only think considering playing him in deeper leagues, but take a shot on him and Jalen Knowles and other guy that there's one more to and in the same vein as Darnell Mooney with a slate and getting cut and Malachi Fields might be the number two guy, but I think Mooney's going to end up playing more and probably getting more targets and opportunities. We like the tight end. We obviously like the number one receiver. The number one ride receiver may not play his full snap share in week one against Dallas. So I think Mooney's another guy in that same category. And then Freddie in the chat just said some a name that I was going to mention also done taping Wix. Like Mackay Lemon may be good, may eventually become that guy that I'm sure the Eagles are hoping for and fantasy managers were drafting. But Wix comes to this offense with the familiarity of the system from Green Bay. And there's a chance that he may get more targets and opportunities early in the season. So there's like a few of these scenarios that you mentioned, Adam, you know, the two that you brought up and then Wix and Mooney were the number two receiver could kind of be this, you know, name that we don't want to really rely on, but or veteran that we don't want to rely on, but could be somewhat prominent early in the season. What's Adnaim Mitchell's roster ship? I mean, I guess this is right in that same exact. Yeah, that would be one that I would gravitate toward. I was going to suggest Mason Taylor, Darren Waller, but that's if you need a tight end. And even if you need a tight end, you can probably find a better name than that on your way where I Greg Dullsich, they're out there in a bunch of leagues for sure. And Ken Yacht's legal eventually overtake Mason Taylor, but I love what I've been reading about Adnaim Mitchell. I remember what Scott Turner said about Mitchell when we talked to him earlier in the off season. Looks like he could be the number two target getter. And we know Juno Smith likes to sling it. So I don't mind stashing Adnaim Mitchell and just seeing what happens. Adnaim Mitchell is 15% roster. That was wrong about that way off. Yeah. Sundays are obviously important. Fun days in the fantasy community. And we will have a live stream before you on YouTube from 11 a.m. Eastern until 1 p.m. Eastern when there are games in Europe that start at 9.30 a.m. We'll have I think we go 8.30 to 9.30 and then noon to 1. That could be to be determined, but we'll have, you know, early content for you there. But two hours of starter sit every Sunday morning, additionally, just tune into CBS Sports HQ because Dave Jamie and Heath will be there on Sundays. And you should be tuning into it anyway because it's the best sports coverage. It's, you know, real sport. The kind that we grew up on that we used to love that made us into huge sports fans. That's what CBS Sports HQ does watch it on the CBS Sports app. Dave has a fun show on Wednesdays. I'm going to let you tell us about it, Dave. It's, it's a show that I'm doing with Scott Turner. We're going to talk about all the most challenging topics that fantasy managers have going into the week. So questions that we come up with from Sunday through Tuesday. We're not sure how to lean on a certain player. We're going to lean on Scott Turner to give us insight from someone who's called plays for a long time in the NFL. So that will be on YouTube. On Wednesdays at some point, you need to be subscribed to the channel and to get alerts to know exactly when it comes out. But I'm expecting it to be a lot of fun and very helpful. Speaking of a lot of fun, can I, are you still in the middle of your promos? I was going to say real quick. Yes, subscribe. What haven't you ever done? Subscribe to the channel, like the video if you can. And you know, I was looking on Apple Podcast. One of our most recent reviews is a two star review that says, I think it says nope. And then the description is dorks. So if you wouldn't mind, it may be left. Leave us a five star review. That would be really helpful for us. Tell people why you like the show. And for the mail bag, we'll actually answer your questions if you leave a five star review on Apple Podcast. But you're going to want to do that on probably Monday or Tuesday because they take a while to populate. We'll also read some Spotify comments as well. But please give us good reviews. Help. I know where you look where obviously we're we're happy to have a big audience, but we still want to keep growing. Go ahead, Heath. I just want to celebrate something because I've been waiting all summer for this moment. And it's finally here. Adam, would you like to guess who the high guy on Kyle Pitz is this week? It's Jamie. No, it's not. It's Dave. It's Dave. It's got to be me. It's how much I am. I then you guys. Oh, it's just a spot higher than me. I'm too higher than Jamie. You guys suck. I can't believe you don't even like Kyle Pitz. I don't even know who you guys are anymore. All right. We're going to take a break. And we're going to get by the way, the dolphins did lift 12 stars. Could they have they've received a full back tight end in 12 versus 11? Could they beat the Rams at 12 on 11? No, I hope I don't think they could. Even with 12. I think they're 12. 12 on both sides. All right. No, no, 12 for the dolphins. 11 for the Rams. Yeah, I understand. But they both get they get 12 on both sides at dolphins. Oh, oh, oh, oh, 24 on 22. All right. We'll take a break and try to figure that out during the commercial break. We'll be right back. I'm going to talk to you right now about Omaha steaks. Travian Henderson is out tonight against Seattle, Ramondra Stevenson or Kyron Williams. Kyron bus close Ramondra for me. I believe I have Kyron two spots higher. I already mentioned all of the safety and secondary concerns for the Seahawks tonight. George Kiddell is likely going to play, but he's going to be. I don't know. They say they're going to monitor his snaps. No idea what that means. Let me just say that from my experience, a pregame report about a player being on a snap count, you know, from any of the major reporters out there is one of the most one of the least reliable reports. Yeah. Do you remember his first game back last year? No. He played 80% of the snaps and was just a blocker. He didn't throw him the wall. Yeah. He probably ran the routes though. I think he had two targets. Didn't didn't have a catch just was almost entirely a blocker. What was the game script like? The Niners have a big lead and he didn't have to run routes. I don't think so. I think we were like, what the hell happened here with George Kiddell, but might have been Mac Jones to McCorkle. I still have top 10. I if he's playing, I'd figure the 49ers are going to have to throw a good amount. I'd want to lean on him to some degree. I'm not going to have high expectations, but still up there for me. Okay. So would any, you know what, we're going to get to that in a minute. That's like our next topic is is breaking down that game. The buck signed Baker may feel to a three year 165 million dollar extension. Heath, what is the dynasty impact? This gives him a little bit more security probably moves him up a spot or two in the rankings. I feel bad for everybody that was super excited about a motivated Baker may field because now he got a contract. So he's obviously not going to be motivated anymore. Yeah. Patrick Mahomes is likely to start this week, but Kansas City left tackle Josh Simmons is unlikely to play as we mentioned earlier. Aaron Donald is out this week. According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, it sounds like Malik neighbors will play this week. If you have a guy Wednesday or Thursday and you're, you know, deciding between Devonte Adams, Mike Evans, it's struggling and Malik neighbors. Jamie, what do you do? I would play Adams over neighbors. I think anyway, what was the other one said the 49ers. Evans would probably if neighbors does not practice today, then I would play Evans. If or tomorrow, I guess it's there tomorrow. I would probably wait out to see stripling. Wait out neighbors instead of playing stripling and just probably go to the waiver wire and find somebody if I could. Okay. I just kind of assume when they cut Darius Slayton that neighbors was going to play. You would think, right? Caleb, I mentioned Chris Bell, Caleb Douglas, listen to starters from Miami. But I guess they have 12 starters. And Romo Dune's day is day to day. We definitely have to keep an eye on that one. All right. Let's take a look at Thursday night football. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Did you throw something? I did. Well, what's that? I'm not at liberty to say. San Francisco's at the Rams. Here's a stat of the game that will not come to fruition. Unfortunately, this was from CBS Sports Research. If all the stars align and Aaron Donald, which he's not playing, Nick Boza, George Kittle, all play, this game would have featured the most combined first team of all pro selections, playing in a game since the 1999 wild card playoff game between the Cowboys and Vikings. This would have been that star-studded, but unfortunately, it's just a little bit less star-studded. Okay, so look, I mean, these are two contenders here, but he's how much better do you feel about starting Rams than 49ers? A lot, a lot, a lot better. I'm actually skeptical that the 49ers defense is going to be as good as it has in the past, and I think the Rams defense, even without Aaron Donald, is the best in the league. So I've got Stafford over Purdy. I still have Christian McCaffrey over Kyron. I would start two Rams-wide receivers over any 49ers-wide receiver, and I don't want to start a tie-dend in this game. Yeah, tie-dend will get into Kittle in a little bit here. I mean, Adams is a no-brainer. It seems like the 49ers secondary, at least according to Sharp football and PFF, not very good. So yeah, you're starting Adams. Let's keep this game simple, right? And Kyron, where do you guys have Kyron, Jamie? - Like around 16, 17 in that range. - Same. - I think you might be 20th, but he's an RB-2. - Okay, basically where he was drafted, we're not going to start. - Well, you wouldn't start Korum over like Jadari and Price or anything with the tough matchup. - No, no. - Okay. - I do love the matchup for the Rams running backs, but we just don't know. So I think it's a little nuts to start Korum. So we know more. - Yeah, I mean, for the 49ers, their secondary might be a concern, but they might be good up front because Nick Bosa being back is going to help, but also-- - That helps your pass rush. - Like Fred Warner played five games. - No question. - They have green law back, right? So they could be better. - They should be better. - Rams, start your Rams. Other than-- - They did lose the key defensive lineman though. - Who they lose? - I figured the name that they put on. - The new no-stackle. - Yeah. - Yeah. - I didn't tore his menescus. - That's a bummer, I'm sorry, I didn't see that. All right, so then let's talk about-- - Alfred Collins, sorry. - Let's talk about the quarterbacks here. - Yeah. - Stafford over Purdy, Stafford or-- Stafford or, well, definitely over my homes. - Oh yeah. - Let's go. - I've got Stafford third. - Oh, okay. - Let's just go right to the jugular here. I know Bosa's back and that helps the pass rush, but I've got questions about much of the rest of this 49ers defense. - So how about Purdy then? Where do you have Purdy, Dave? - I've got Purdy 13th, and that feels low, but there are a lot of quarterbacks that I like this week. There are a lot of quarterbacks that we drafted. I'd start golf ahead of him. I think just about everybody else that was ahead of him in ADP other than Stafford. 'Cause I think Stafford was behind him. I, they're easy starts to me over Purdy, but I don't mind Purdy. - Bro, Dave, you have Jackson Dart 22nd? - Yeah. - Whoa. - Yeah. - 'Cause I was gonna say, Heath and Jamie would start Jackson Dart against the Cowboys over Brock Purdy. Dave would start maybe some college quarterbacks over Jackson Dart this week. - Archmaning, baby. - So do you have the homes ahead of Jackson Dart? - No, they're back to back. - Yeah. - Okay. - Yeah, 22 and 23. - Purdy or Kyler Murray? - Kyler. Kyler. - Purdy. - Dave is the high guy on Purdy at 13th, Heath and Jamie have Purdy 17th. Tyler Schuck over Purdy for Jamie and Heath, not for Dave. Dave, your quarterback rankings are definitely the outlier this week. - I love it. - Yeah. What's it like, Heath? - It's a second. - What, what? Hamey? For Heath? - All right, start McCaffrey. Evans and Stribling, Heath, what are your thoughts there? - I don't really want, yeah, I don't really want to start them. I rank them Evans, Debo, Stribling. Evans is a wide, a number three wide receiver for me, but I would like to have three receivers better than him. - Yeah, it's weird. - We agree here. - When you preview a game and you like, "Oh, how did the Rams do against wide receivers last year?" Well, actually, how did the chiefs do against wide receivers last year because the Rams have both starting cornerbacks from the chiefs. - But those corners are going to have a much more pleasant time playing behind this pass rush. Then they did the chiefs last year. So they're gonna have to defend for about two and a half seconds. - And they were good last year. They were 10th, but the chiefs were 10th best. Obviously, it's not all about the two cornerbacks, but they were 10th best and they held some very good wide receivers in check. So I have Evans and a lot of leagues, but definitely trying to get away from them. Let me give you guys some flex options over Mike Evans. How about some running backs here? Would you start, um, would you start? Marsha on Lloyd, oh, I'm so on the fence of this one. Marsha on Lloyd at Minnesota, or at Evans. - Evans at PPR. - I gotta find Lloyd at the report yesterday, for sure. - I would go Lloyd. - Did you see what Lotto's coordinator said at him? - No. - Oh, expect a committee for the Packers Pack for the week one. - I have them back to back. Evans, one spot out of here. - Yeah, I don't know what that means. Like I saw what they did in the preseason, and it sure as hell wasn't a committee, except for Chris Brooks playing on third down. And these coaches talk about the stuff all the time, but like they're always gonna say, yeah, we wanna get all our guys involved, basically. I'm not always. - Well, I think for the first game against Minnesota for a player that has one career game on his resume, you're probably not gonna see a huge snap share for him. So, or a huge amount of touches for him. So, especially if, surprisingly enough, they're underdog. So, if they are chasing points, I think we see a little bit more of Chris Brooks, if not a lot more of Chris Brooks. So, I would just be cautious with Lloyd, and I wouldn't panic if he has a bad game. They also did bring in another running back for a workout yesterday. So, probably not the best sign for Josh Jacobs, in terms of what the Packers are thinking, and probably not the best sign for the three guys on the roster. My guess would be mostly an indication of Caleb Johnson. So, they brought him to film off of his for workout just to see what they have there. Another big physical running back. - Yeah, someone said in the chat, probably benching Lloyd week one, and so am I, but I'm also probably benching Evans week one. How about Tony Pollard against the Jets or Mike Evans? - Pollard. - Yeah, I could be poll. - How many, Dave said Evans? How many Cold Swide receivers would you start over Evans? - Just one. - Downs? I don't think I have any. - Me neither. - I'll give you a stat. The Ravens gave up the most big pass plays in football last year. And the most pass plays of 20 or more air yards, and that's who the Colts play in week one. - All right, I got a better stat than that. - What do you got? - And this could maybe help you make the decision on somebody like Downs. And I would like Downs better if Keenan Allen didn't sign with the Colts, obviously. Colts took on Jesse Mentor's Chargers defense last year. They lit him up for 38 points. They absolutely dominated the type of defense that Jesse Mentor plays. And so I do think he's got personnel this time around that matches up better with the Colts. But I'm not sure it's going to be any more successful. If he sticks with lots of zone coverage, doesn't blitz that much. Do we know if Matt Buky is going to play for Baltimore? I guess we'll start. - I don't think that's the solution today, but I don't think so either. And I think that helps the Colts, too. I know it sounds like I'm talking myself into Josh Downs over Mike Evans. I'm not there yet, but I do kind of like Downs, to especially in PPR to get seven targets come through with a solid game. - Okay, and then let's talk about Kittle here. 'Cause I don't know. I mean, it's week one. No one's on a buy. Not that many guys are injured. So I don't personally as a host feel a ton of, I wouldn't say need. I don't think it's helpful if I'm like, well, would you start Debo Samuel? Or this other guy that no one's starting? Because I'm just guessing, you know what? I'm going to look at Debo Samuel's start percentage right now. And it's probably not worth discussing. It is 10%. And Stribbling. - No, speaking of that call. - Yeah, Stribbling, it's like we kind of want to see it first. He is at 7% started. But I've been getting something John Stribbling questions. So I don't know, is he in the top 30 for you guys this week? - No, not in top 48. - Not that. - 48. - There are people, I think, yesterday he was drafted in round six of our draft. He wasn't in several drafts where he was drafted in round eight. So I know there are people like considering starting him in week one. - You also have, you know, as it's evolving clearly, you know, as they're speaking in another continent. Mike Evans saying that his resting or, you know, not practicing was another planned situation or, you know, they're just being cautious with it. So I think when you're drafting, struggling, or we're drafting, struggling, you're doing it with a hedge on Evan's missing time or maybe missing time early in the season. You know, some of the bigger leagues that had somebody ask me, "Hey, same round heath. I'm in a huge, you know, fantasy league is struggling in round six, worth it." And I said, "Listen, if he hits, you're going to hit big, right? Because we saw what he looks like in the preseason, and you're the easiest bet to make on injuries is probably a 49ers. So if Evan's missing anytime, if he was out for this week, I think we'd be very excited about struggling even with a tough matchup. So just knowing that there's two significant veterans at its same position, three significant veteran passcatchers there, I just don't think you want to buy into struggling as a starter. We know receivers usually come off the, or, you know, in drafts, came off the board a lot sooner than running backs when we get to this range. So I think, you know, struggling probably should have been like around seven pick at the highest. Maybe you're on eight. So round six is just being aggressive with it. I would just take a cautious approach and set him this week. Okay, let's start. I'd rather start, you know, you know, I'd rather start the Von Veile than Dijon Stribli. I'd rather start, and I Mitchell. Wow. Would you rather start Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell than Dijon Stribli? Oh, I think that might be going too far. Okay. So how about Kiddles? Kiddles is a tough call. We don't know what the snap share will be. Last year, he did have a huge game against the Rams. He scored 23.4 fantasy that fantasy points, but the Rams got really good against tight ends late last year, including Tremac, Bride, Twice, Kyle Pitz was terrible. Coulson, Loveland had 56 yards on 10 targets. I don't know if any of that will carry over. So Kiddles is 13th for Jamie, 10th for Dave and 16th for Heath. So it's an average of 13th. And are there any streamers? I'm guessing Heath, the answer is going to be yes for you because you have 16th. What streamers would you start over, George Kiddles? Only one. There's only, like, we've got 15 tight ends that have a high enough roster percentage to not call them streamers. The one is the guy that I talked about that I don't think should be this available, but Dalton Schultz is not rostered in about half of leagues. And I would start him over Kiddles this week in full PPR. Okay. Do you want Johnson for sure? Yes, but he's not. He's too rostered, right? He ain't talking about not. I got to. But there were people that drafted Kiddles in the middle of the late rounds and then probably took a second tie at end. And so I think that's the conversation. And I'm looking at Kiddles right now in my rankings. And I've got him higher than Jawan. And I don't know if I agree with it. I think Jawan does make sense as someone that you could start ahead of Kiddles this week because of all the uncertainty around him. But I know what the track record is for tight ends against this Rams defense. I know the Rams defense improved their cornerbacks. I think that does open the door for whoever is at tight end for them to put up some solid numbers. And I just, I know what George Kiddles capable of doing. And if I've got him on my team, I want to use him if he's going to play. Yeah. If you want to, if you want to start Jawan Johnson, the Lions last year played five games without their two starting safeties who are on IR right now. And in those five games, they give up 65 or more yards to Cade Aughton, Colby Parkinson and Colson Loveland. And I think those three combined for two touchdowns. So they did struggle against tight ends without their two starting safeties. And I think it's reasonable to expect that to happen again. So Kiddles, how about Kiddles? How about guys like Dalton, Kincaid and Jake Ferguson over against Kiddles? Not this week. The matchups aren't great for either one. I might try it with Kincaid. That's another tight end that I've got ranked behind Kiddles as of right now. Definitely not Jake Ferguson. I've got it. Kincaid Kiddles Ferguson 15, 16, 17, so okay. Flip a coin. Start the Rams DST, sit the 49ers DST and that is it for Thursday night football. Just do people listening sing along with us, you think? I think they maybe do that. Oh, we had we had some some start sits in the chat from that game. Okay. And you know what? I honestly think I skipped Stafford because Dave said he had him third, but Jamie has him eighth and he has him 10th. So he's definitely a start, but Stafford. Yeah. So I'm going to rewind the, no, no, no, no, no, no. And we're not done yet. Kiddler likely, that's going to be likely, right? I don't know. I think likely might be, oh yeah, likely. That's what you said. Kiddler Kraft. Kraft. Tucker Kraft. Kiddler Andrews. Andrews. Andrews for me. I'll go, Kiddler. Give me a flex and half PPR, Jalen Waddle, Martian Lloyd, Mike Evans, Parker Washington. Oh, who is it between Waddle, Waddle, Washington? I think it'd be Waddle, but it's close, man. I love them both. Probably Waddle. Adams or Burden? Burden, one billion percent if Oduin Zay's out and Burden either way, if what do you say that? I got Burden one spot higher. I'll take Adams. Evans or Godwin? See, that's God. Yeah, we're, I think we're going Godwin there. Godwin. Chris Godwin. And can we discuss Terrence Ferguson? But roster, they're good. I will have started it. They'll start in the second. There we go. Okay. And that's it for, there's a football. Let's do some buyer sell after this break. All right, we'll be right back with buyer sell, a Ramondra Stevenson buyer sell, Ajikobe Lane buyer sell, Jonah Coleman, Christian McCaffrey, Vicarion and more. Did you guys watch any of the, what they're calling the second best tennis match of the year? No, I missed it. Oh my gosh. I mean, I didn't see it, but it ended at 333 in the morning in New York. And it was like, I mean, for any, it was like, it was basically one of the best tennis matches. I don't know in US open. I don't know. I don't know. But it was incredible. And wait, it was in the United States. It was. Yeah. And they played until 330. They started at 1130 or something like that. And they ended at 333 in the morning. It seems like bad marketing. Yeah, I know. I read a five set thriller between like the best player in the world and an American who beat him. And really cool stuff. I wish I had even known about. I had no idea. I could have learned a few things. Yeah. I think so. I actually know whether they're that good. There's really not much you could learn. I was talking about the thing because, you know, commentary wise for tennis. Do you think any of them, any, either the competitors were burping throughout the match? What's the, like, let's say you were at, you know, the NBA, the Super Bowl, whatever. What's the latest you think you would stay there? Obviously, the Super Bowl can't, could go on and on and on, I guess, which stay there. So 330. What's the latest you would stay at the Super Bowl? You really are 330. Would you go home? You really asking that question? You're assuming that, like, one of the teams we love is playing in the game. Well, that's the thing about tennis. No, you got to put it in context. Like, this isn't the finals. So it's just, it'd be like a regular season football game. So, no, it'd be like a playoff game. Adam, the Hurricanes are in the national championship. How long are you staying at the stadium? Yeah, forever. So there you go. This would have been like the, the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. I mean, you would have stayed, obviously, if it was the Hurricanes SMU and there was a lightning delay, right, until it was over. Not till 330 in the morning for a regular season game. So you're at the game. It's a nine o'clock start. There's a lightning delay. It doesn't kick off until 11 o'clock, and you're staying until kickoff. You wouldn't stay till the end. 2 30 in the morning. In that case, if I had worked the next day, no, if I didn't, the way that that game unfolded, you would have left the Florida State game. Yes. You're lying. Whatever you're about to say is alive. You say you leave the pants if I had a show. Yeah, you know, I'd probably, you're right. I'd probably stay. Of course, you'd stay. It easier would have never showed up. With the rain. With the rain. Oh, no, you're got the wrong guy. I don't, I don't, I'll brave the elements. I'll brave. I mean, if I see a spider, I won't brave that, but the elements, I'll brave. By our cell, Ramandre Stevenson will be the Patriots starter. I'm going to change starter to, like, lead back all year. Ramandre Stevenson will be the Patriots lead back all year. Bye. Bye. So, oh, what do you think, Heath? There's lots of things that could happen. I think it's blow 50 percent. Be a week or two. Where is Traveon? From Matt Davis by our cell Jacobi Lane and Emmett Johnson will be league winners. So, for sure, cell in the case of Lane. And the only way Emmett Johnson's going to be is if Kenneth Walker wins Powerball. All right. Fine. So by our cell, if Ken Walker buys a wins Powerball, Emmett Johnson will be a league winner. Bye. Okay. From Luis, by our cell, Chuba Hubbard maintains the lead role over Jonathan Brooks. Cell. Cell. Okay. From Yogi Danza by our cell, Jonah, Jonah Coleman takes over the Denver backfield by week four. Cell. I think you got to sell it by week 14. I could buy that. Maybe, or maybe. And another one from Yogi by our cell, Dan is the type of person who decides they don't want something. Dan is the type of person who decides they don't want something they already picked. They just throw it on whatever aisle shelf they're on. No, no, I sell that. Yeah, for him, I sell that. Dan's the kind of person who would rant about that kind of person. Right. Yeah. Steve Davis says buy or sell the backup to Christian mechanical - The Afery fantasy managers want is currently not on San Francisco's roster. - So, Debo's. - So. - So. - By or sell, the majority of listeners, however slim, will have no idea what I'm referencing when I ask Vicarion, and that makes me sad. - Bye. - Bye. - But that's a good way to tell us that you've been listening for a long time. - That was before me. - That was before you. - Mentioning Adam's wallet is a good way to remember. Do you remember the person who would always ask off that question? - The Vicarion? - Yeah. - No. - No. - Street can't. - Oh, good. - I wonder what he's up to. - Good call. - Where'd he go? He was like, God, he's in here. - He's probably with a little dabble do ya. (laughs) - Does he know that story? - Which story? - A little dabble do ya. - Do you know that story? - No. - Do you know the slogan? - Yeah. - Okay. - Go ahead then. Tell the story. - This is you, Jamie. - Oh. So somebody wrote in, it was a team name? - I think it was just an email. And then they signed it, like they're, yeah. - So it was a-l-i-l-a-d-a-b-a-d-o-o, similar, right? - Whatever. - Yeah. - And then you just read it. What's a-l-i-l-a-d-a-b-a-d-o-ya? - No, I thought it was sort of a guy named a-l-i-l-d-a-b-a-d-o-ya. Like I'd never heard a little dabble do ya. - It's still funny. - It's been 10 years. - I was thinking about the other day, the worst call that Dave has ever made was Cracklin' Oatbrand, being a good series. - Oh, by far. It's so bad. - I've made some bad calls. And I think you're right. I do, I've strayed from that take. - Oh, wow. - It's so bad. I had it, I had it some point last year. And it just tasted different to me. And I forgot who knocked out. - Honestly, like. - What did you say? It looks like kitty litter. - I think once you said that, it was over for me. - So back, no brand. - So now I don't have a favorite cereal. I'm a free agent on the cereal market. - When you grow up eating all that sugary cereal and then you come back to it years later after not having eaten it for a while, it's not as good as it used to be. - Oh, you're crazy. Frula's are still the best. - I mean, I guess I really like life cereal still. But I don't know, it's like, it's too sweet now for me. - I had you pegged for a reason, brand. - I did, like, oh, believe me. I like me some brands of brand. This one is from Gamer, Buy or Sell. Jake Ferguson will finish the season ahead of Mark Andrews. - So. I'm selling it non-PPR. It's full PPR where I might see a pathway. But it's going to be close. - Jake Ferguson is very rostered and I just want to give this down. I'm not saying it'll play out this way, but he played 13 games with CDLAM and he averaged 8.7 fantasy points per game. He did have six or more targets in seven of those 13 games, but he just kind of struggled with the targets. But he's kind of like Kyle Pitts, only worse. He averaged 18.6 per game without LAM and 8.7 per game with LAM. So based on last year, Jake Ferguson probably shouldn't be rostered as much, but you know, things could play out differently. Also would say if LAM or Pickens gets injured, Jake Ferguson is basically an amazing handcuff problem, you know. - Well, is it him or is it Flanoi? - That's a good question. Flanoi could factor in, but I mean, like if you were on the waiver wire right now, I probably wouldn't pick him up, even though I did in one league where I had an empty roster spot. But if LAM or Pickens got hurt, he'd be one of my top priorities, I guess. I think you're gonna see like Ferguson, Brenton Strange, I'm trying to think of another tight end that's kind of in similar vein. Like where there's a crowded receiving core or you just know what the packing order is, but they'll catch enough touchdowns where they'll sort of flirt with top 12 relevance on a week to week basis, you know. So like Ferguson last year had eight touchdowns and over a hundred targets and just was such a non factor. Like you said, when everybody was healthy. So it's like you'll never be thrilled to start that player but the week that they score or the weeks that they score, you'll be like, okay, this is why I justify having them on my team. - Okay, a few more buyer sales here from Lloyd Cobbler. If Dalton Concade plays his highest snap percentage of his career this year, he's a top five tight end. - If you said top 10, I would've bought it. - Yeah, I was gonna go top eight. - There you go. - Top eight sounds good to me too. - From Phoenician, buy or sell Drake London is not a top 12 wide receiver with two of it's hunger by Lois starting. - So, so, you know, I've got London, I think like 10th in my rankings and I feel like that's a little too high. I'm gonna buy it. I'm gonna buy it with two as the quarterback. I'm gonna say he's not a top 12 receiver. - But we don't expect that to last too long. It seems like-- - No, I'm panicked to be the guy. - Yes. - Steve says, buy or sell fantasy players and experts not considering Washington's suspect offensive line nearly enough, sorry, that we are not. We are not considering Washington's suspect offensive line nearly enough when it comes to drafting. Jayden Daniels, Tara McCloren, Bill and White. - Funny thing is, like, I think that fantasy managers from the experience I've had in drafts have considered it a lot. In my final FFPC draft, I got Jayden Daniels at the end of round 10. He's been going in round eight or seven and a lot of our drafts. Bill's not a top 28 running back. Terry McCloren's fallen outside of the top 24 wide receivers. I think people have adjusted. - Yeah, our ADP, the latest one, I don't know about drafts last night, but Daniels fell behind. Dak Prescott and Jaylen Hertz. - I just wanna remind everyone, two years ago, Naomi Tonslow was on the Texans. And Jayden Daniels, you know, was great rookie season and McCloren had the best season of his career. I've been pretty scared about it, but I also think the dig-signing factors in with the McCloren drop. I've been working-- - I think in-- - Yeah, go ahead. - No, sorry, go ahead. - I've been more afraid of jacquery crosskey merit than Daniels because Daniels is so athletic and he'll be able to run away from the pressure. It's not gonna be good for him, but they lost their best lineman and then they move the guard out to tackle. So now they've weakened two positions and they just may not be as good. So I feel like the game script won't be as good for Bill. It's the end. - Well, I'm totally with you on Bill because he's in that range of running backs or was being drafted in that range of running backs. Like with the Steelers guys, you could see there's more upside for them, especially if one guy separates from the other. Jordan Mason's a very similar profile, easy offense, easy to buy into the Vikings offense more so than the commanders, you know, Dobbins, if you wanna talk about shared backfields, like Bronco's offensive lines clearly better and Dobbins was better last year. So you just kinda look at that whole group and whichever running back you like the best, but I think that was the appropriate range from. To me, the easiest thing with Daniels is like the upside is amazing and the downside is is I pivot to Tyler Schuck or Kyler Murray or somebody that's available and it's easy to find replacement value there. Not the same replacement value, but replacement value. So that's just an easy swing for the fence position and so like Heath was saying, like the more he fell, the better it was because you're just still stacking other great players around him and now you're getting this, what could be top three quarterback, you know, so it was just easy to still draft him. The other guy is yes, you could make stronger cases to move away from. - Okay, and few more here. Buy yourself from Jay. I should start Ramandre Stevenson over Jamison Williams in PPR. I wouldn't this week, but it's close. I would love this week. - And Craig. - Hi. - Bye for Heath, sell for Jamie. What was it for you, Dave? - I'll take Jamo. - For Craig, cinnamon raisin toast, ham, tomato, mozzarella, mayo, garlic powder, and oregano melted. - Are you Craig? - Adam? - You have a list? - This sounds really good. I would eat this. - I know you would. - Buy it. - Literally. - I would eat it. - I wouldn't buy it. - There you go. - I'd buy it for you, and then you'd like it, and then you'd start buying. - Oh, this should be your next one. What was the other bet you were trying to make, Heath? - I don't even remember now. - Okay, wait, I don't think we've really hammered home. - Oh no, it's 100% set. You agreed to it. We're not going back. - No, no, no, no. I agree to the terms of what the consequences. - I forget, what are we doing like if a quarterback gets hurt or a player or-- - Nothing for quarterback getting hurt. - There are two, we're gonna try to have a true winner. - Okay. - So they need to be better in both total fantasy points and points per game. - Mm-hmm. - If there's a-- - You got to pick one. - If there's a split in those two, then the tiebreaker is fantasy playoffs points. (laughing) 'Cause that's what matters. - No, no, I don't agree to that at all. - You already did. - We're a month into this, and we still don't have it. - Did I really agree to that? - You already did. - You did. - I'll go back and find the tape, 'cause since you never remember the things that you say. - Yeah, that's true. - Why can't you just settle on points per game and keep going? - Can we do only games where they play 50% or more of the snacks? - No, no, come on, that's-- - It's a split, Dave. This is what-- - No, that's a completely reasonable request. - Because the next one. thing is, can we do games where like, if they're offensive coordinate? So I just wait. So Adam, if if Devon Desmit had four for 60 in a touchdown and 49% of the snaps, you're not going to count it. I think you have the option to count it. Here we go. All right. Brian says, buy or sell pizza with pepperoni, sausage, jalapenos, and red chives. Buy. Buy. It's disgusting. And then I wanted to look at the most added and most viewed players. So I don't really think it makes sense right now, but there's one other guy, hey, if you want a starting running back, who's 63% rostered. I call him starting because he's listed as number one on the debit chart. That is Tyler Algier. I just want to throw that out there. Tyler Algier is 63% rostered right now. Only only nine and a half point under dogs with an implied total weight in this week should be. Great time for the early down the running back. Yeah. But no, I think he should be rostered. Yeah. Yes. I hate those guys. You know, this was originally, I think I said this about Tevin Coleman when he was splitting with Devon Des Freeman. I can't stand players that are too good to drop, but not good enough to start. They are like the worst thing to have in fantasy and that might be Tyler Algier. Go back to the guys I just listed before, like they're all the same. Which guys? Corey Croskey, Marit, J.K. Don, it's like they need touchdowns to be good. Yeah. But they're better. They're at least. They're better than those guys, but that's the profile. Yeah. It could be. All right. Thank you guys. Good luck tonight. Get those line-up set. Those 14 and 20 ringman line-up set. We will talk to you tomorrow with Starter Sit for the AFC Home Games on Fantasy Football today. Enjoy football, everybody. We'll be recapping a game next time we speak. See you later.

Summary:

FAQs

Sam LaPorta is widely considered the most rostered player, with many fantasy managers highlighting his consistent presence across leagues. Others like Drake May, Jalen Waddle, and Christian McCaffrey are also heavily rostered, with ties in rankings.

George Kittle is a cautious pick due to uncertainty around his snap share. He is 13th in rankings for some, but with a 10% start rate, it's recommended to start him only if you have a strong rationale or if the matchup favors tight ends. Consider alternatives like Dalton Schultz in full PPR.

Players like Dalton Schultz (5% roster), Devon Whiteley (6% roster), and Jake Ferguson (highly rostered but with limited targets) are potential streamers. These players may see increased targets in games with weak offensive lines or injured starters.

Yes, prioritize Rams wide receivers like Christian McCaffrey or Mike Evans over 49ers options due to a weaker 49ers secondary and improved Rams defense. The Rams have a more balanced and reliable pass rush, making their WRs more consistent.

Starting a 49ers running back is risky due to a weak offensive line and injury concerns. Consider benching them and opting for safer options like Mike Evans or Kyron Williams, especially given the defensive vulnerabilities in the 49ers’ secondary.

Matthew Stafford is strongly recommended over Patrick Purdy or other quarterbacks due to the Rams' improved defense and the absence of key defensive players. Stafford’s performance is expected to exceed Purdy’s in this matchup.
