The most difficult to measure is paradoxically often what means the most. Welcome to the WD-pod. This odd and strange pod. What is it? This is a summary of what I want to talk about today. The pod is a project and a life-long discovery for me. That old age is a way to gather wisdom and grow. My name is Arash Gillan and I'm a WD for Viva Media. This is perhaps a reflection of my WD journey. Among the guests I have something called "Arash Reflections". Today it's going to be a special episode, a bit different. I'm 40 in summer. And I don't know... The age and the number make me what kind of person I am. But something happens when the numbers are rounded. They are invited to think. It's a kind of introduction to the end, not to sum up, but to understand. Carl Jung said that "The life begins when we are 40." "Everything before is just a preface." I read this for the first time 20 years ago and thought, "Is it really so?" And I can start to understand it a bit more. Maybe it's because then the elections start to rise. And it's more true to get the chance to move forward. Maybe it's true that under the age of 41, people have gathered courage to live. Every decade has its course. In the 20s and 30s I thought it was a sea of discoveries. To try, to learn, to try. 30 to 40 was more of a process of peeling off. Until the most important thing stands. And 40 to 50 see us as a journey in the person I've always been on the road to. I think life deals a lot about it. To be the one I've always meant to be. And to be. And to be. For me it's about standing still in a year that will change the world radically. And I want to stand with philosophy. I want to stand for what I think about technology and psychology as a foundation. For philosophy gives meaning. Psychology gives understanding. And technology gives power. I know we're standing in front of a dull year. That's why I want to stand still for the human. It's real and it's warm. And if you wonder what you can really get from life, it's nothing. Just to say thank you and mean it. So today I want to share with you 40 insights. 40 thoughts that I've written during the year. And that have invited me. Some have come as witnesses. Others who melt. It's like that in life. Some things land as a distance. And others things are just like a blink of an eye. It's not in any way an answer. You should see these more as thoughts, poetry, philosophy. But maybe they can be a conversation between you and yourself. And if I have luck, maybe I can land some of them against you. But it's like a distance from others as a blink of an eye. And maybe it's when you need it the most and the best. And I've divided them into four parts. About life, leadership, life and relationships. Let's start with life. Death. And you know, everything is in between. Number one. The most important thing in life is not where you build when everyone is watching. But who you are when no one is watching. And you notice before or after what has grown in Germany. Number two. Everyone dies, but it is surprisingly many who have never really lived. You make up your mind. But you lose in the near future. You fill your days, you drown yourself. They were there, the days. But still far away. Full of calendars. But a empty shell. You hear a smile, but you never feel happy. You take yourself forward, but you never see anything. And Seren Kikegard has said that the biggest adventure is to live. Not to succeed. So stop. Stop. If so just for a moment. Put your hand against your heart. Feel that it hits. Because this is life. Not later. Not later when you are done. But now. Right now. Because eternity is now. Number three. When you give love, maybe not always come back. But it forms you. And makes you something you want to be. Because love is nothing you do. It is something you are. Number four. Beauty has a price. And that is why it bears meaning. What has never cost you anything. Is rarely worth anything in depth. Number five. The body is not a tool. It is a place. A temple. A place where memories live. It is where you feel. Where silence takes shape. If you want to be here. Start in the body. It is now a voice. And the soul's home. Number six. To manage loneliness. Is an obligation. To love life fully. When you no longer love. To let go of being lonely. Can you love for that you want. Number seven. Wisdom is not a gap in your experience. It is the traces of reworked pain. The one who has never dared to suffer. Has rarely really learned anything from you. Number eight. You do not need a perfect plan for the future. You need a goal that keeps you. When the rescue wants to get you to fly. Number nine. We all go through hell. But that is how we go through them. That forms the soul. Some burn away. Others burn clean. What remains after the age. Is worth saving. Number ten. The death is not a sign. It is a mirror. Because I am not afraid of death. I am curious about it. It shows us what really means something. And it is rarely what we thought. Number two. I want to talk a little bit about and share thoughts. That I have written down around leadership. And the work that forms us every day. People do not follow power points. They follow energy. Nerv. And when you are. Because leadership is not a system. It is an emotional craft. Number twelve. The light can blend. But it is not the light that exists. It is the heat. Consequences build confidence over time. Build and never give up. Number thirteen. The responsibility you choose not to take. Is responsibility in the end must bear. In the form of the other's mystery. There is never an answer. Consequences. Number fourteen. You can never lead others. Longer than you yourself are willing to go. Self-knowledge is the first step in leadership. The one who flies himself. Will eventually lose others. Number fifteen. Your culture is never what you write in a document. It is what you tell in a dark room. When no one sees or says anything. When everyone sees. But no one acts. Because culture is not what we do. It is what we do not do when something happens. Number sixteen. Chief. It is a title you get. Leader is something you deserve. Every day. Through courage. Empathy. Listening. Encouragement. Concentration. And direction. Number seventeen. It is tempting to measure what is easy to calculate. But what is most difficult to measure. It is paradoxical to measure what is most important. It is worth noting that. The air you breathe. Number eighteen. In a strong team. Conflicts are not dangerous. But silence is. What you do not say. Is what you lose. So build a culture. Where the truth can take place. Even when it creates. Always have the truth around you. Not what I say. Number nineteen. Silence. Acceptance of vulnerability. An unpleasant lack. In all organizations. Accept never. The media. Have high demands. Want more. And please never. For the one who argues. The one who thinks. The one who says it is okay. Has no future. Number twenty. Visions are beautiful. But everyday work. They are transformed into illusions. Strategy is not to say. It is to do. It is to create. So build on. Ticket for ticket. And one percent better. Every day. You are a part three. Where I want to share my thoughts. And you have written down. About life. Meaning. But also technology. Number twenty-one. Life. Is not a project. That should solve. It is a mystery. That will be experienced. The more you try to control it. The more happy you are. Your hands. So let go. For. To. Get. A paradox. As you need. To understand. Number twenty-two. Most people. Run from their shadow. They do not want to talk about it. They avoid it. Or get confused. But the shadow you do not meet. Is what controls you. You must dare to see yourself in the eyes. Look into yourself. Also. Where it makes sense. Because if you do not do it. Can you never. Become. A meaning. To. Be. Number twenty-three. Oneness. Is nothing. You get. It is something that grows. When you bear the pain. Without. To deny it. Slowness. Is not a weakness. Unfortunately. It is. That. Is. That. Makes. That. Makes. That you become strong. That. Makes. That. but as Boye said, "It makes sense when buttons break." Number 24, we have all been given gifts, talents, from something beautiful. But it was our duty to water them, give them light, integrate them into the earth of the Redsland. Not compare, not look at what we haven't gotten, but bow down and guard and develop what we have gotten. Number 25, life doesn't happen later. It doesn't happen when you give up. It happens now. In the blink of an eye, you can't plan. You don't miss it, because you were taken to heaven in battle. Number 26, we live by machines. They become smarter, and they think faster. Only you, just you, can feel what is right. The future is not formed of code, but of compass. Guard your intuition as your greatest treasure. Number 27, technology can take you far. But without direction, you just drive faster. Because it is not the capacity to do it, but the compass in your hand that holds it. Number 28, wisdom. We have built machines that can imitate our thoughts. But the question is not if they become human, but if we lose our humanity in the hunt for effectiveness. Be brave in that. Because you and only you can be the person you mean to be. Number 29, what you can never digitalize, is also what makes you unworthy. Your intuition, your taste, your healing curiosity, your ideas, your advice, your thoughts, for everything in the world. Guard them, and guard you. Number 30, the most radical you can do in a world that screams, is to be quiet. Because it is in silence that the real conversation begins. Learn therefore to listen in to the silence. And to hear your inner voice. Then we come to the fourth part, which is about the relationship between self-sufficiency and faith. Number 31, speed is not to be naive. It is not a weakness. It is an active act, a hard world. And that, my friend, it requires courage. Number 32, you will see people, whether you want it or not. But you can choose who you never want to lose. And that's the truth, form you. Number 33, children are not formed by perfection. They are formed by your presence, your gaze. And your attempt to be closer, even when you fail. Number 34, love, as I have learned, is often a curse of sorrow. It screams what has never been heard. What has not been placed. Number 35, what you seek in the other, is often a mirror of something you have not given yourself. Self-understanding begins therefore, where the hunt for confirmation ends. Number 36, to forgive is not to be careless. It is to close the gap between you and what hurt you. Not for your sake, but for your sake, so that you can be free. Number 37, sorrow is the most difficult form of strength. To show yourself true in a world that has taught you to protect you. Number 38, mystique, beauty, Godliness and poetry. Can not be proved. They can only be experienced. How am I going to give words to what can not be worded? How am I going to explain something incomprehensible? And that is it. It is experiences. And the experiences are sometimes just a silence. And that silence is enough. Number 39, we are looking for something in the world that is pointing towards us. We are looking for the clicks, the dopamine, the likes and the understanding. We collect, we strive, we are looking for long after what we are already close to. It is rarely about resources, things or the material. No, what we miss is often about face, silence and the courage to listen to something. And number 40. To dare to love is to accept the risk of losing. But to never love is to have lost already from the beginning. Because there is no more sacred word than love. The biggest of all is love. The meaning of life is love. And I do not do that, but I have to keep quiet. Because love is exactly like a rock. The more you try to catch it, the more it flies. But when you are quiet, when you are in a state of being you, there is always it within you. Because it is given to others. There were 40 faces with 40. I do not know if there was anything, I hope so. But this was for me a distillate of life. A life that still teaches, that snubs, that jumps. That shines in the darkness and tries to find the light.
