It's been a Mississippi minute, but the pink is finally back in business after four long years. Myself, Chappelle and Mari are heading down to p valley for season three. And we are trying to figure out what's going on with uncle Clifford little murder key Sean and the rest of the crew From pink valley the season three trailer has released Chappelle Mari on myself watched it and we are breaking it down for you now. So let's go down to the pee. And what is up and what is going on recap kickback and purple pants has teamed up for p valley. Myself, Bryce Isaiah is here with the wonderful Mari and chappelle and we just watched the trailer of season three of p valley. The season that was never going to happen, but it's happening now and then they're going to say it's the last season. What is y'all doing? What's up, Chappelle? What's up, Mari? What's going on? What's up? Glad to be here with you, Brycey. I'm so excited. Do I know what's going on? No, it's been like four years, but I am ecstatic to be here watching p valley and talking to you guys about it. Yeah, Bryce, you and I, you know, we go way back in these p valley streets. I know Mari's a big fan. And so when you had this idea to watch the trailer and react to it, I was like, all right, cool. But now that I've watched the trailer, I'm like, Mari's like, damn, it's been a long time since I seen these people. I got to remember what's going on here. Remember what's going on. Who are some of these people? I'm confused and p valley just as excited as I am stars come catch these hands because like what like it's crazy to think that we were watching this during the pandemic, right? And now it is six years later, WTF. And if I remember correctly, this season was filmed two, three years ago. Oh, see, yeah, because I don't I don't I remember them saying they were filming it. And I remember them kept they kept saying like, it's coming. It's coming. It's coming. But then I was like, y'all line to stop playing in my face. Stop playing my face. But right was it litigation that they were hung up in and kept them from dropping is like, what's the story behind that? If you love me, say it, trust me. Show it. Wow. I believe the lead singer Nikki Gilbert had a stage play that was allegedly loosely based off of p valley. And I believe since season two, she had filed lawsuits and then going into season three, they had to shut everything down because she was appealing the lawsuits judge had overturned it a couple of times. And she kept appealing. Yes. And so this is what we had to wait for. And so eventually she ended up losing. And now we're here. And I guess we're getting p valley. But I guess p valley said, we don't got time to keep doing this. And they're saying it's the final season. That's so unfortunate. I mean, I get it. We're all creatives here. So we do not want our intellectual property stolen. So it's just unfortunately that it took so long for this process to resolve itself. And in the fact that because it took so long, now I could, I could definitely see stars being like, it's not worth, you know, at this point, it's not worth it, whatever the legal fees they already had to go through. Unfortunately, and then what I really feel for two is for like the actors who a lot of them had made, yeah, they had, they used it as a launching platform. One, this tied up their lives, because I'm sure they had commitments to come back and do this show that was probably that's probably interfering anything new that they want to do. But also that they couldn't stay in these characters longer to, you know, help get their faces out even more and stuff like that. So it is really sad when, when, you know, we have that those property rights and disputes and stuff like that. But we're here now. We have the third season. I did, I did here. I was like, they finished filming it years ago. I had thought so I was like, I did not understand. So that makes more sense. Thank you for enlightening me about that price. Of course, I mean, it's, it's the thing that scares me though is that if it filmed and wrapped could have been a year ago, but like two or three years ago, how did y'all ended, right? Like I'm sure I'll be left on a cliffhaker. And then now you're saying it's the end end. And so like was it written for the end. So there's a lot of speculations. And that scares me because I don't know about y'all. Because I never lie. My favorite character on P Valley is Uncle Cliff and little murder. I just feel like as a, we were talking about your child. We was talking talking before we hit record because she'll go on all but we want to get married. Okay. Cause this man went on for 45 minutes about something. All right, all right, all right, we got to get into all about it. We made this well. We got it. You had just told me that you finished all the heated rivalry books. Yes. I didn't watch heated rivalry. I know everyone keep really into and it's on my list. But yes, I had seen a lot of the clips and I said, you know, I, I get it. It's in gay culture. Like there is more emphasis on like white men, right? And so that's kind of what I get in the rivalry. So what P Valley for me would instantly drew me in is that we have this like non conforming character such as Uncle Cliff. And then we have somebody like a little murder. We have love and like, we don't normally see that on screen. And just to be clear, it happens. So guy, this isn't a fairy tale. And so I just, I live, but what makes me so nervous. What I always thought ending season two was like, oh my god, little murder. They won't get him up out of here. And then watching this trailer. Little murder say it to themselves. Y'all might be the deaf and you stop playing with me. I will say like, I can't wait to see where Cliff and little murder go here. But I, we also get that snippet of the guy saying like, yeah, yeah, you can do that, but just be discrete. Like, you know, I think we all know that there's probably just discussion. And you know, it's up to them. Are they willing to be discrete about it? Or will they have to make the decision about being discrete or being loud about it? So loud. So if you are out, does that then put your life in danger? Like you said, Bryce. So, um, I read Hyden and hip-hop. You never heard of that. Really, I will tell you about that. I met the author, all of that. He came to my HBCU. All of that told us all about it. Signed, I have a sign copy around. Well, well, quickly what was it about? Yes. It's about this, this guy, his name was Terrence. I forget his last name. But he basically worked in the music business. He was a gay man, black gay man working in the music business. He would work as like a PA or production assistants on the MTV awards and stuff like that. And he talked about it was like a superhead memoir. It was all of the, yes, he, he did blind items about all of the famous, like, down low, whatever, male musicians that he was like either hooking up with or having relationships with and everything, like it was, it was literally it came out when we were still in school. It came out in like 2009 and it was, it was just just after the superhead, all the superhead stuff, the current, current stuff and stuff. And it was a big, it was a big thing on our campus. We were in that book trying to figure out who was who and all that stuff. He came to, he came to our art, he came to our, the bookstore and we met him and he talked about making the book and stuff like that. And he, he was like, yeah, he casually like, yeah, and Queen of people in her girlfriend, that and people like. Oh. And he's like that's her roommate is clearly. Oh, she's gay Yeah, we all know today, but it's just kind of it was like he was so casual though. He's like every we all know We all know, but yeah, it's that kind of that kind of thing like And after and reading that book that's the only nonfiction that I actually like um and after reading that book It was just like a big thing like Uh, you know homosexuality Gay people being gay in the music industry is not that is not an enigma the rap industry. No, that's it's actually quite common You know, so that's what I mean like if they it maybe in this season we'll see them be like a little more a little discreet. I don't know See y'all were looking at it as you know, this man telling him basically like oh, yeah, like you can keep your relationship discreet But still be an artist. I thought the man was telling him like like you keep in stuff discreet But we all he said we all have our proclivities. I was like, well, what do you what do you got going on sir? So I didn't know if this was like the new Hotness that was out of after little murder or maybe he's after Uncle Cliff, you know, because we not really see them be at odds As far as like relationship-wise, right? They've broken up, you know, they've had their coming thing going We ain't seen no extra people coming to the mix, right? There was that one time with a cliff head like the discount murder, you know a little homicide was there But aside from that it's been pretty much like this is their love story as far as I'm concerned So I was wondering if this other person was going to be like well, you know, now I'm here And you know, what are what are what are what are we how y'all gonna move now that I'm in the mix as long as you keep it on the download You know, so that's why I thought they was going I Yeah, no, I didn't take it like that If I remember season two ended like at that barbecue cookout and little murder came and uncle Cliff and little murder like publicly embrace as so And if I remember and again because it's childish it's Decade more you didn't more you didn't have kids Okay A lot has happened, but I remember little murder being caught up In regards to something and people were after him and I remember feeling like Are they going to try to kill him and so I kind of felt like that guy's saying we all have our Proclivity lights, you know But you being allowed on the creek and that I don't know what I took it as, but like I just while you're threatening my man's life I really hope it wasn't a thread I I maybe I was being naive and in not taking it as a threat I was just hoping they were like dog chill like please like, you know because you're right I do remember it being kind of like a Like not a coming out, but just like I Because I remember clipping like he doesn't want to be hidden they they had that whole episode right? There's this whole like the model episode where they're in Cliff's house and all that So in an end then they were yeah, that was the crux of season two when they were they're like oh there's not Any like openly gay rappers so like little murder and stuff like that. So I don't know I I I this is last season. So please do not introduce it anymore Like we need this love story to end great just like brides. Thank you. Thank you This is a representation. That's that's why people like you to write a robbery Not spoiler it did well. It was a well-built romance. So that's that's the whole thing. It's like please Let's let's try and keep the trauma down to a minimum. I I get it I know that's a lot to ask drama versus trauma. I'll take some I don't know brice I have to ask you if you had to predict right now Do you see this love story ending in uh, you know in glory and them going off into the sunset and being a happy couple or do you see Uncle Cliff with the veil on at the funeral crying and jumping in the casket because a little murdered Don't quite make it through the season. What do you think? Well, I'm going to lean out of the chapelle Biopix and lean into Mauree's section around I am I want to say I want to see them right off into the sunset, but I just also know uh And black queer relationships like this sometimes it doesn't always end positively and so I for me it's like I do want a little bit of real, but I also want some hope like you know Can the black gay men can the black non-conforming queer people that are just can we get some hope can we can we see a little I also do hope that stars announcing that this is the final season I'm hoping it's like BET with black and beauty when the show is cancelled and then all of a sudden They was like wait a minute. We got a call. We were new for five more seasons So I'm hoping if we we turn up and turn out for p valley it won't really be the end But if I have to wait another four years for it then just land the plane But you know, Mauree that's a good point. We uh me and Mauree just uh We had just finished covering a snowfall the drop the drop of snowfall saga And they basically said snowfall is over, but then they gave us the drop right after well not right after But you know years after what if Mauree there's a world where we lose p valley But we get something like p valley colon the story of the delta, you know or something like that and anything like like maybe like the Uncle Cliff uh prequel, you know what I'm saying or something like that where it's like the show doesn't quite end Because you still have these characters that everybody lasts on to That would be great and I feel like that be a way yeah That'd be a way to get around that lawsuit too. I feel like as well that Yeah, I'll take it. Yeah, I will take it anything, but like like y'all said, I don't know I don't know how long I can wait for it like okay They got to wait for house of dragons Three years, they got us waiting for this And what it what was it? Was it house of dragons uh should tell that we that they got a release date What was it that we just said there's a release date for it? I said oh I can watch it when I turn 40 like It was like it's $0.29 of some shit Yeah, and then they keep pushing back Batman uh the next one they're like yeah, they'll drop sometime in 28-20-20 night like what are we doing y'all? I don't remember used to having to wait for TV shows as long as this is crazy And the climate that we live in that we need something to escape from Because I can't I can't be waiting I'm curious um because it has been so long and it's been A fairly long time and I am just curious as to like what y'all remember of people So we kind of talked Uncle Cliff a little murder, but like I guess more we got to give something to Chappelle But Mercedes, yeah, and my girl mr. Cippy and mr. Cippy let me tell you about mr. Cippy I came into this season so happy to see kishan and what she had going on And then I forgot I didn't I was shocked with that lady was showed in that orange jumps So I said now now what's kishan and jail? I had to sit with it for days before I realized what the hell she had done And so I am definitely determined to Re-kind of revisit that because last time I checked she went to jail for child abuse and she hadn't been abusive I believe her husband guy the white guy or baby XP or whatever had made it look like she was the one abusing the kids I think she actually attacked maybe she hit him or something like that in front of cops And diamond kill one I think maybe but yeah, I don't know because diamond wasn't in this trailer at all And so um, but yeah, but I do think she went to jail if I'm not mistaken for her like child abuse or child protective services was involved And so I don't know what that leads for her, you know, she been in jail for what three years now So I don't really know What she doing oh, but yeah, I'm definitely determined to see what she got going on and of course Mercedes we were supposed to have Mercedes last dance two seasons ago Two seasons ago Mercedes has no business being on the pole still yet she will be and I'm so ready to see it So name Brandy Evans This actress she's she's everywhere now. I just saw the show where she was announced in a new movie and stuff like that I really felt like she was really gaining momentum Before the show guy, right, so you know, like that it feels like it sucks for a lot of these actors Yeah, so in the trailer with uh Mercedes That didn't look like a pink pole that she was on you know, I'm saying so In in the trailer, we get the opening of the casino, right the promise land casino casino talking about it We could talk it about it for like two years now. I can't even remember the agreement that Uncle Cliff came up with them because remember they want to him to sell but no Well, it wasn't even on him. Haley is the owner of the casino and I mean the the the pink the pink and she wanted to sell the pink for Million dollars and they were like growing out here and so I don't remember how they managed to get them to sell across But yeah, that's what the drama was but see yeah, I don't but I think I can't remember but I think they they negotiated so now They don't they didn't have to sell it'll be like the casino will be open and the pink will be like next to it So that they can get money, but I'm wondering If the casino Inzes open their own strip their own strip club within it and if maybe Mercedes goes to like manage that one because I don't that did not like a look like a pink pole that she was on Yeah, and Bryce there was men in these strip clubs too in this trailer. Yeah, they're absolutely was Uh, not that but also back to Mercedes, right it didn't look like that, but then in this scene or this clip If I remember correctly Mercedes had a daughter, right that like Is she training her daughter up now? So like, so now I'm just gonna have to leave or like because it's been three years now the daughter could be 30. It's been three years now. If I'm not mistaken Mercedes is a grandmother. Terrick was pregnant. So yeah. Terrick was pregnant the last time we saw her and so yeah she's we see her doing the training right she's right but I don't know if she's trying to her to be a dancer or a dancer because remember Terrick was in like two like a major red you know that's right. So you think like she's going to dance school or maybe she's going to dance school or something. Yeah. Maybe dance school. Oh. Right. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Did she get the money to open the dance school? The money that her mom took? I must say did she get her mom to her to to Mayor Patrice. Now we didn't see Mayor Woodbine in the trailer at all. Come on Mayor Woodbine. I see you with the names. I was like Patrice over my last name. Crazy man. I'll never forget again these are just some of the pinnacle moments that I think. What was that guy's name? His name was Nelly. He did that car rental like the drive-through. He was selling cars and again this is back in 2000. It was like come on Dale. I forget and he was in the video. Oh. Oh yeah. Dark now. Who would who would get out the trunk and he'd like where the money resides. Where the money resides. I don't want to show. He well he was in the show. He was in the show. And you know Mayor Woodbine's you know where the votes reside. So I am curious to see what is going on with her because we haven't seen a lot of her is whisper. Do y'all remember whisper? I do remember whisper. But that's the thing. I remember whisper but whisper is not as heavily featured in the trailer as my girl roulette is. I think roulette is slay because because y'all know we go up for some gal gal bean. We go up for the bean. Okay. She had at least three clips in the trailer. She at the end of the pod that she don't remind me. Roulette wanted Mercedes spot. Yes. And then roulette was they were selling pussy too in the pink. She was a pimp. Yeah. She had a pimp body in. Yeah. Yeah. Roulette was coming for that money. She's coming for everybody. She has three different clips in this trailer. Like she's more she's probably more heavily featured in Mercedes. I agree. I agree. I agree. We got to do. Yeah. And we saw and we saw there was a clip like a real quick snapshot of her in like this western get up. It was like her. Yeah. I was wondering what that was. Are we getting some fantastical type of elements? Is that like a pre-sequence or even like performance sequence? That was very interesting. I feel like it's roulette night. You know, she could come out with the guns, you know, spin like the Russian roulette. Then she could have that cowboy hat on. I don't know. I'm excited to see roulette again because she was just to me becoming a big character and then we lost all our momentum. Yeah. Exactly. But in that cowboy scene, it looked like they were like coming somewhere or like you know, like they were handling businesses. So again, it has to be thinking like does it have something to do with the new casino? Yeah. Is that the point? Who is that? Who's that? I don't know. Who's the guy? Can we tell? It's not Diamond. I think it's that man that the man that be at the club counting the money. Counting the money? Yeah. I thought he was old. Big L. Big L. Yeah. Maybe that's big. I can't really tell by the by the imagery here because it's the shadow he faces a good picture though. Yeah. I want to know what they get into. Big L, he did rocker cowboy hat a couple of times. So I wouldn't be out of no question. You know, he kept a little hat on. So I don't know. I mean, Shepal was right about the metal. Yeah. Maybe they first of five to be able to keep up with the casino. And I'm not complaining. Okay. We have to do our due diligence here. Brycey, when we watched Beauty and Black and we saw that Tyler Perry popped out with the bisexual strip club with the man strippers on the left side and the women on the right. I said that's Tyler. You made this shit up. But now we see that maybe it's a thing. It's a cliff. It's going revolutionizing because he says time to see some dangling. That got me. There's a lot of places. There's some places here in DC where like one night it'll be, it'll be girls one night. It would be guys. So we have, I've actually been to more male strip clubs than I have women strip clubs. Even though this is, this is two podcasts in a row. Shepal, we've been talking about. We always had Mari business about the strip club. We got to know Mari, Mari strip co clean. She'd be outside. No, no, this was 15 years ago. Oh, we used like literally here in DC. We have, we have, we had a lot in like full coverage, like all that. She passed, you know, she's still alive. No, she passed, right? She passed one at the whole episode because she passed. And they had this funeral. No, and there was a funeral. There was a funeral and then clip. She didn't know. No, no, no, no. I don't think she died. If I remember correctly, they did have some funeral. So the mayor died, the original mayor, right? Andre is gone for the he died. And if I'm not mistaken, little murder, little murder's prison boyfriend, little teak, I think he died. I think those are the two funerals we had in season two. Remember, little murder, little murder had the homeboy. Yeah, it was a real, it was a real special episode, but I think he died in that season. I don't think Ernestine died. The other guy, right? Murder hunter down and killed that other guy. No, and I think what do you, that's why they're after murder? That's why they're after him. Yeah. And if I'm not mistaken, Wodey poised in that one guy because he had found out about little murder. If I'm not mistaken. So they're like, they got some bodies on them, but I don't think Grandma Ernestine died. Okay. I thought she died. Oh, wait, no, no, I think you're right. It was really close. She was really close to dying and she came back. I think you're right. I think she's fine. Yeah. Now, is this white man Derek or is this Duffy? Like, because I'm not, this is not Kishan, but maybe daddy. This not him. I don't know who is this? Who is this? I'm curious. And no more. So a few people, a few people we haven't seen in the trailers. Autumn. So I think no, I don't want to see anymore. She is the owner of the page, but no, she not. She left. She left. She disappeared into the night. Say she got the last thing you saw. Yeah. She wrote, then she like signed those, the contract over the cliff and then we saw her getting on a bus. Headed out. Ended up leaving. And it wasn't it for like less of the money that eat like again. First of all, I feel like we need to go back. Okay. Because we just we going off of home in a bug. Should should we go back? Should we give the viewers, you know, recaps of season one and season two? That is such a good idea. I would be so happy to go and revisit season one and two. So we can figure out how the hell little murder is doing because it looks like he got green hair now, Bryce. That was going on. You know, that's all that that's what all the kids and the rappers do now. So green is a head of the game. Yeah, I would love to go and rewatch this show because otherwise, I'm not going to know what the hell happened going season three. Yeah, I don't know because I want to know where tear because baby is. I want to know, yeah, you know, what the, what the status of the scene is. I thought I saw Lizzo in the in the trailer, too. Three women that were walking through the casino there, blonde hair, but the second woman, you know, they're quickly. I couldn't really tell. I don't know if she's in it because, you know, maybe she, but, you know, they had Megan the stallion. I think had a cameo in season two or one. Yep. Yeah. So there's plenty of people that they could bring in to kind of be the stars or the popping stars for this season. Imagine what, how are you going to have P Valley season three without glow Rilla? Be for real. Didn't, didn't Jocelyn, didn't Jocelyn, her name? I think the Puerto Rican, the Puerto Rican princess. We got, we got, so we got the people we could bring in. What's cash dog that girl that's not a little in the middle is that Lizzle who is that lady? Okay, too It from a distance and this is the far distance the one degree look like E.J. Johnson Oh like a magic Johnson's daughter Proger magic Johnson's child That's what I don't know who that in the back is it moves so fast. No, I looked up a picture of E.J. They are Atlantic city casino I'm sorry, but that looks those look like pros that are in the casinos.
