☕ 3 Wild Best Ball Drafts With Very Different Vibes
184m 59s
The discussion centers on key fantasy football developments ahead of the season, focusing on the Green Bay Packers’ running back situation and the Chargers’ tight end landscape. Marshawn Lloyd’s surge in draft rankings is framed as reasonable due to his established role with the Packers, but his limited NFL production and lack of sample create significant risk. Caleb Johnson, with superior prospect metrics and a stronger ceiling, emerges as a viable late-round target, especially if Josh Jacobs is released—making the backfield a volatile, high-opportunity scenario. On the Chargers side, Aranda Gadsden is viewed as a high-risk, high-reward tight end pick due to Mike McDaniel’s history of utilizing elite receiving tight ends, despite his low route percentage. Gadsden’s strong rookie production and high upside in a new offense suggest he could thrive, though early-season volume remains uncertain. The analysis also highlights the complexity of balancing offensive roles, with Keaton Mitchell’s injury and Kamani Vidal’s role creating ambiguity about the backfield’s depth. A key takeaway is that while draft pricing may favor high-impact players, the true value often emerges later in the season, especially in formats like Best Ball where consistent, long-term performance matters. The discussion concludes with a call to action for fans to engage with fantasy content, including fantasy life rankings and live drafts, and to stay tuned for upcoming Friday fantasy strategy shows and live league events. Another edition of Best Ball Breakfast as we rapidly approach the start of the season.
Here is what is on tap for today.
Mike Quant, Alex Cupps is here.
And we're going to talk about a few different interesting situations across the fantasy landscape.
Of course, through the quantitative lens, we're going to look at what's going on with the Green Bay Packers.
Talk a little Chargers running backs.
Maybe some of these tricky tight ends.
How to handle them.
Then Chad Candles is going to be joining me.
For a draft, after that, my guy Roto Pat from Roto World will be here.
And then wrapping things up, Eric Beinfour.
We do our annual Best Ball Mania draft as we try to chase that dragon from our top 10 finish in BBM2.
I'm Pete.
This is Best Ball Breakfast.
Let's do it.
Welcome to Hot Best Ball Summer.
When you slurp that suspension dipperino, honey.
Easy to click on Rashad White's when it's all site credits.
Exodia.
Put the puppy in the bag, bro.
I'm trying to grow the goddamn game.
The game is beatable, folks.
Hot King Summer, bitches.
7,000 hours of commercial-free best ball drafts starts now.
All right, Alex Cupps.
You were traveling last week, which, by the way, I think I talked about this with Squares on our guillotine show.
How do you have time to just be golfing across the country right now?
Well, the thing is, it turns out I don't have time to do that.
I didn't really realize that when I made this trip plan like a year ago.
But it's, yeah.
We're getting to the point where now I'm like, if I'm going to be doing fantasy content, ain't no way in hell I'm taking a weekend off.
Like, going to the middle of nowhere.
No cell service for five days in August.
Like, it just doesn't.
It's not going to fly.
So, my Augusts are going to be locked up from here on out.
And September, for that matter.
So, I feel good to be back.
I see Davis in the chat.
This guy, I know he said something about, you know, potentially taking off zero time when it's draft season.
Which I'm starting to understand a little more after I just got back this weekend.
I think you're invincible.
You went to France during the middle of So You Think You Can Tell.
It almost got you knocked out of the competition.
But you survived.
And now you are here.
Then you're golfing across the country during, like, peak drafting season.
You survived that.
I mean, at this point, I do think you can just pull it off.
So, congrats to you, Alex.
Thank you.
Also, my guy Bob in the chat reminds me, as always, we are going to have three coffee.
Giveaways today.
Vassilaros and Sons Coffee.
And before we dig into the data, talk about this man on the screen, Marshawn Lloyd.
Let's get a coffee pour here for the people.
As always, Vassilaros and Sons Coffee.
You can get 25% off your first order and free shipping with promo code PETE.
The link is down below.
And make sure you guys are hanging out throughout the show today.
We will sprinkle in some free giveaways for a 12-ounce bag of coffee.
And this is a dicey one because I'm wearing a white shirt here today.
So, please no spillage, Peter.
All right.
There it is for the ASMR freaks.
Let's get into it, Cups.
Everybody wants to know about this Green Bay backfield.
We have this big shakeup with Josh Jacobs going on the commissioner's exempt list.
We have Marshawn Lloyd rocketing up draft boards.
He's been going in the 6th and 7th round of main event drafts.
We've seen him in the 6th and 7th round of underdog drafts.
Dwayne McFarlane actually just posted his projection.
For him, with week 1, because Fantasy Life is getting those up,
he has him at a median of 12.2 PPR points and 19.9 ceiling.
He's the RB21.
And if you're looking to benchmark that, that's around where Jadarian Price is projected.
That's ahead of Quinshawn Judkins, Ramondre Stevenson, Bashell Tootin.
What do you think, Alex?
Is this rise justified for Marshawn Lloyd?
Yeah, I mean, I think it's probably one of the more interesting conversations
that we're going to have over the next week or so before we actually see any action.
This, just a fair warning, I guess, or a premise of what we're going to go over today.
These are the things I'm most interested in seeing how they play out week 1.
So immediately, I feel like we're going to get an insane amount of information
on all the guys we're talking about week 1.
And if we had that information now, it might drastically change how we're drafting them.
So I think that's kind of the through line for the stuff we're going to talk about.
Hence why we have Marshawn Lloyd.
And Caleb Johnson up here.
In terms of the rise being justified, I mean, I think it's totally justified.
Because if he's going to be the RB1 for the Packers,
the role is just like one of the most valuable in the entire NFL.
But when it comes to Lloyd's prospect profile,
like he's definitely not a guy that I was super excited about as a prospect.
You can see he had a 26.7 production score in my model.
That's 22nd percentile.
89 size score, 74th percentile.
Overall cup score.
34.7, which is 53rd percentile.
So not great.
Pretty average prospect for a guy getting drafted in the third round.
Nothing really crazy to write home about in terms of his advanced metrics.
I mean, he had solid yards after the catch per reception stuff coming out.
You know, he had average elusiveness rating stuff that was pretty solid.
So there's certain things that are interesting.
Breakaway percentage was pretty high.
So he is known to be like a more explosive running back.
Down at the bottom, though,
you can see like his targets per outrun,
his yards per outrun stuff,
not super great on a per route basis in terms of efficiency in the receiving game.
So the thing that I think is interesting about Lloyd is you can see his NFL stats here.
We're going to just completely ignore like what he did in 2024 because he's basically a rookie, Pete.
Like this guy has zero sample at the NFL level.
He's never scored a touchdown.
He has zero receiving touchdowns,
zero rushing touchdowns in his NFL career since he was drafted in 2024.
And I don't know how you feel,
but I think what's the most interesting to me is the idea that Caleb Johnson could potentially have standalone value like in 2026.
If he's just a better running back than Marshawn Lloyd,
because it's not like we have this huge sample from Lloyd at the NFL level.
So I'm really interested in Caleb Johnson in the last rounds right now,
simply because he's just a much better prospect.
74th percentile had really,
really good,
rushing metrics,
obviously not a ton in the receiving game,
only 22 receptions in his best season.
But I'm curious where you stand here.
Like,
yes,
I'm interested in Lloyd and I think the rise is justified just because he has that connection to the Packers already.
But I do think there's a real chance that Johnson comes in this year and just straight up takes the job.
Yeah,
this,
this whole situation is like legitimately a bit of a mindfuck.
Like you said,
we have,
you know,
on paper,
I agree with you.
Like the way the depth chart and both of,
of these guys is track record.
It might be closer than we want to admit closer than the ADPs would suggest of Marshawn Lloyd being in the sixth round and Caleb Johnson still being free or an 18th round pick.
I do think the reason that gap exists does make sense in that the team has told us a lot that they like Marshawn Lloyd,
right?
The way this off season has gone,
their lack of moves in the draft in free agency.
They've clearly been,
they say they've been preparing for this Josh Jacobs stuff and they've mostly held Pat other than,
than kind of this panic move for Caleb Johnson.
And on the flip side,
the Steelers watch this dude after drafting him fairly high and said,
not only are we not just going to keep him as a,
a roster depth,
but we are going to get rid of him to cut bait that early is pretty damning.
So I do want to factor that in,
but we know that ultimately this is a game of opportunity.
And right now the opportunity looks like it's going to be to Marshawn Lloyd and Caleb Johnson into your point.
They're not going to give Marshawn Lloyd 20 plus touches.
Like they're just not going to do that.
Even if he is everything they dream for him to be,
they don't want him to get injured and go down to this.
So you are going to have another back coming in here.
I've been struggling with where I fit,
you know,
Caleb Johnson within those late round targets.
I still prefer guys like Emmett Johnson.
I think I prefer guys like Malik Davis,
but it's Caleb Johnson,
a viable 18th rounder in the same way.
A Seth McGowan is,
I do think he's on the menu and I need to start clicking him in these final drafts.
I think.
Yeah,
I agree with you there.
And I mean,
I guess it stems all from like how you feel about Josh Jacobs in the first
place.
Like,
are you in the camp of like the most likely outcome is he's just straight up
cut or are you thinking like,
cause then Caleb Johnson,
obviously like he's off the board.
If he's not cut.
If he's not cut.
Right.
Yeah.
And I think that's going back to the,
you know,
the price is so cheap on Caleb Johnson that a lot of this stuff doesn't like
matter.
Like I think he's a,
he's an,
a solid pick,
a justifiable pick.
There's not an opportunity cost where I'm settling with.
Like I saw Dwayne take Marshawn Lloyd in the,
I believe it was the fourth or fifth round of the guillotine draft we're
doing with fantasy life.
I think in,
you know,
eliminator formats,
I know those have filled week one DFS.
That's where I actually feel comfortable about Marshawn Lloyd.
Like we know Jacobs isn't going to be there.
We know he's going to be the lead back like Caleb Johnson,
just coming in,
you know,
with a week's notice,
they're not going to saddle him up.
So early season stuff with Marshawn Lloyd,
I'm on board with some of the season long stuff and some of the prices on
him.
I am,
walking at it a little bit because I
you're paying a pretty big premium with a lot of late season risk whether that is Caleb Johnson
whether that is Josh Jacobs returning whether that's Marshawn Lloyd getting hurt you know you
could say that about any running back but there's a lot of ways that his projectable volume that
we're hanging our hat on right now goes south post week six week seven and so I do think in
those formats where late season matters fantasy playoffs matter a lot I do want to proceed with
a little bit more caution on Marshawn Lloyd yeah absolutely the price is getting it's getting a
little bit out of control for me um we're really you're passing up on like legitimate legitimate uh
you know targets in that range when you're taking them in the fifth round so it's tough it's tough
for me to get there with Lloyd at his current price but I think it's definitely an interesting
conversation we're definitely going to find out a lot about this backfield in week one so what do
you say we move over to can you just one more one more thing on this
one because I do want to just highlight this we talked about uh Caleb Johnson Lloyd and Jacobs
G money saying why is everyone treating Caleb Johnson like he's ahead of Chris Brooks on the
depth chart do you have a take on that should Chris Brooks be factoring into this I've been
almost treating him like a glorified fullback um who sure maybe he gets a couple touches but I don't
really see them saddling him up with two yeah I just think we're looking at like what do you win
when you win with Chris Brooks I don't think you win a whole lot with Caleb Johnson like he was a
guy obviously year one was a complete disaster but we he still just has the level of upside of
someone that I'd want to target I think Chris Brooks like if it ever really came down to even
Marshawn Lloyd getting hurt and then it's just Caleb Johnson and Chris Brooks I I'm pretty
confident they're not gonna throw Chris Brooks out there as like their guy you know just based
on his skill set compared to um a Caleb Johnson or something so I think the upside with Johnson
is just way higher so I would I wouldn't be
um
targeting Brooks I don't think yeah and like just an example this is a cross-positional example but
you have the Chris Brooks reminds me a lot of like Xavier Hutchinson with the Texans when we
were in this little ambiguous period where it's like okay Higgins is out all this and we're like
all right I guess Hutchinson's gonna play a shit ton uh and then it's like all right well then they
trade for Keishon Booty and then you you know like it can really switch like when you aren't
hanging your hat on any bit of talent alone and you're truly just a body
like you can get pushed back so quickly so to your point on what you win when you win I just don't see
it with Chris Brooks and again I also think Caleb Johnson is probably just bad and isn't going to be
a thing but if you are going to make a bet maybe the running back in year two in a change of scenery
who's going to get more opportunities than he did as a rookie behind two really good backs in gain
well and Warren I see kicking the tires on that yeah for sure so definitely interesting stuff in
Green Bay let's go over to one of my favorite ones at least in terms of like what we're going to see
in week one it's going to tell us a whole lot about this it's going to tell us whether O'Marion
Hampton was the best pick on the board in the second round or could straight up be one of the
worst picks and it's really just going to come down to what the roles between him Keaton Mitchell
and Kamani Vidal look like in 2026 for me I it's tough because I love O'Marion Hampton I see some
people on the timeline saying he was an overrated prospect I don't really see it maybe if you're
from a film perspective I'm not looking at that I'm looking at the numbers the numbers say he was
great right the production score 92nd percentile absolute freak of nature size 9.7 raz 92nd
percentile and then a 76.5 cup score is really really good for running back you can see 95th
percentile so he's like you know top 10 all time since 2014 for me early declare player three years
at North Carolina and then he's like you know top 10 all time since 2014 for me early declare player
North Carolina 22.8 fancy points per game in his junior year or in his sophomore year 28.6
in his in his junior year so absolutely awesome and then shows a really really good rookie season
as well like all of the volume stuff's going to be coming through looking a little suspect
obviously because he didn't play that many games and this is all just total volume but one thing I
really really like to see was that he had 3.56 receptions per game that's a 91st percentile
number among all running backs you know he was getting 14 rush attempts per game 71st percentile
so definitely some really interesting stuff especially in the receiving game for a guy that
was known as being his calling card was running the ball in college so really good 15.08 fancy
points per game as well in his rookie season I'm under the camp that we're going to see a lot of
O'Marion Hampton and it's not going to be a huge split with these other guys before we move over
to the other two how do you feel Pete about O'Marion Hampton straight up I'm feeling really good about
him and I will admit I was trepidatious at the beginning of draft season I thought a few things
I thought we were paying a little bit of a you know Mike McDaniel tax on all of these guys Hampton
you know relative to what he did as a rookie Ladd McConkie what he did but there's a few things
factoring into it now where I'm really coming around on it one we have this Keaton Mitchell
injury which is a really big thing for us and I think it's going to be a big thing for us
is still a bit of a mystery box as far as what's going on we got the quote that he had the setback
he hasn't been practicing he didn't get placed on IR which is good but it's not great for his
early season availability I think really the fly in the ointment for Hampton and the ultimate
riddle to this backfield is how much is Kamani Vidal going to be involved and how much of him
is just an insurance policy because every single time Mike McDaniel talks about this offense he
talks about all three backs he's very intentional to do so we know Kamani Vidal
is not the best athlete in the world but he can run and he can catch balls he can be that kind of
guy that doesn't tip their intentions when he's on the field and that's kind of the selling point
of all three of these guys Mitchell and Hampton they're versatile in their skill set so I'll
throw it back to you let's even say that Keaton Mitchell's kind of limited I do think his role
is kind of standalone in the same way RJ Harvey's I think is going to have that standalone role
I don't know how much contingent value either Keaton Mitchell and RJ Harvey have but the
thing that I think is going to be the most important is whether or not Vidal is going to
eat into base work off the rip or is this bell cow Hampton because if the way Mike McDaniel talks
about it is true I could see Vidal having you know seven eight nine touches in there and if we get a
three-man backfield they're gonna have to score a shit ton of points for Hampton to pull off this
ADP now if you tell me Vidal's in there like true breather mode three to four touches a game kind of
like the Sean Tucker role that we've seen previously in Tampa Bay then all of a sudden it's like all
right Hampton blast off scenario so like if you tell me Vidal's in there like true breather mode
like where do you fall on the Vidal touch split FanDuel is now available everywhere in the U.S.

I I'm a little less worried about Vidal being the one that
I guess like limits the upside of Omerian Hampton just because I I kind of see him more as that
breather role like you said though McDaniel does talk about the three-headed backfield a lot
I just have a hard time because it feels like Vidal really is just like a worse version of
Omerian Hampton in terms of the skill sets that they share so he really does feel more like a
backup to me I I know you mentioned like the injury with Keaton Mitchell being the thing that
you know maybe and someone in the chat said this too that the Keaton setback could muddy the week
one thesis which I think is actually a really good point like the point of this exercise was to figure
out a lot from week one but I do think maybe week one what we see from the Chargers might not
accurately represent what we're seeing from them down the stretch just simply due to that Keaton
Mitchell injury but I think if anyone's going to
ruin our Omerian Hampton bags it's going to be Keaton Mitchell even if you know he's he's banged
up right now down the stretch what this guy could do in a McDaniel offense scares me one that I don't
have enough of him and two that I have too much Omerian Hampton because the the explosiveness
that Keaton Mitchell offers and you've heard I'm sure a lot of people call him like a Devon Achan
light it's true man I mean this guy like he was an early declare prospect really good three solid
rushing yards in his sophomore junior year you know 18.3 fantasy points per game 24 fantasy points
per game in his uh sophomore and junior seasons we can go back to um last year for his 2025 season
obviously we hear a lot about his yards per attempt right 98th percentile a lot of people
have talked about this second in the league only to Amari DiMarcato which is crazy because DiMarcato
has been in the news of late as well yeah right topical guys but you can see Keaton Mitchell coming
in above Achan Bigsby Cook Henry Robinson like solid list of running backs there um and the
explosiveness I mean like look at this breakaway percent 46 percent breakaway percentage right
behind Devon Achan Jameer Gibbs right below him Travion Henderson you know some really really
solid running backs here in terms of explosiveness and Kamani Vidal is up there with the best of them
targets per outrun 0.25 96th percentile up there with Jameer Gibbs and
Jameer Gibbs as well Christian McCaffrey like this is just a skill set that I think is super
interesting and I can tell you put you put this guy in Mike McDaniel's hands and he's gonna like
he's gonna find some interesting ways to use him that I think could definitely come at the
detriment of O'Marion Hampton because one of the things we loved about O'Marion Hampton's rookie
year was the receiving work I think we might see a little bit of that reeled back in uh for Keaton
Mitchell to get it instead yeah this is an interesting one because I guess the way I would
think about it and we talk about this a lot in best ball this idea verse um you know single game
correlation versus season-long correlation I do agree that I think on a week-to-week basis
their ceiling outcomes will probably be negatively correlated right like we've talked about the hot
hand stuff if Keaton Mitchell is really cooking they're going to keep giving him the ball maybe
that limits Hampton's touchdown but on the course of the season and specifically in in best ball
you know formats I do think like if it works it's going to work
for both of them like this scheme is crushing in the same way it worked for HN and Moster
and that both of these guys can feast and maybe it's a little volatile week-to-week but I almost
think they are positively correlated over the course of the season in this vision playing out
for them the one thing I keep coming back to on Keaton Mitchell is just he is going to have to be
hyper efficient on his touches I don't think he has the touch upside that HN had like they're just
different backs I mean you can go throughout their careers HN has handled bigger workloads I mean I
think Keaton Mitchell had a lot of success in his career and I think he's going to have a lot of
more uh one carry over or only one time over 10 carries in a game throughout his career so like
I just don't see a monster touch split for him but if they're using him in creative ways Ben Gretsch
has talked a lot about the running back air yards we've seen some of the plays the wheel routes
getting him out in the flat like that stuff is very exciting but I do think it's going to be
pretty volatile for him on a week-to-week basis for sure and you can see here 5.2 touches per game
last year 11th percentile 4.5 rush attempts per game I mean that's a lot of touches per game and
this puts him like in pure handcuff range so I think you're right like he's going to have to be
super efficient good thing for him is that he's proven he can be you know so yeah it's it's
definitely interesting and I would agree that on a game-by-game basis like the Hampton and Mitchell
ceilings um are going to probably be negatively correlated so interesting stuff there anything
else on these three chargers before we move on no I guess what I would just say as far as like
being actionable in drafts I do want a little bit of time to think about it because I think
a little bit more of a discount on Keaton Mitchell right now just with the ambiguity you know I
thought he was a fine target in that like 125 range I I think I want like a little bit of a
round discount on him to really be loading up now and I'll say we mentioned Caleb Johnson we
mentioned guys like uh Kamani Vidal or sorry Seth McGowan I think Kamani Vidal still remains an
awesome round 18 selection right now where you might get some early season standalone value
while Keaton Mitchell's banged up and I do think he has
contingent upside in both cases right obviously if Hampton goes down and similarly if Mitchell
goes down Vidal is going to be able to inherit some more touches so I really like getting access
to this offense versus uh or via Vidal here yeah all right let's go ahead and move over to
the tight end conversation so a couple guys I wanted to highlight here are you know when week
one what are we going to learn about the tight ends that are notoriously low route percentage
because I think one of these guys could be a major winner this season we have Isaiah Likely
Dalton Kincaid and Aranda Gadsden everyone's seems like everyone's least favorite tight end in the
entire NFL right now which I'm gonna get I might get a little uh I don't know riled up talking
about Aranda Gadsden because I think the hate's gone way too far with this guy um in 2026 he's
about falling to like pick 200 on he's free underdog he's free he's free he's like a last
call candidate now like it's insane so yeah we'll get into it so talking about these I was just
gonna say too no I was uh I was going through uh you know over the fantasy life everybody who ranks
including Alex Cupps put together they're they're my guys and I was going through them and you have
Gadsden in uh referenced in your list there which again it takes a leap of faith because as you said
that is not where consensus has been in it you know I brought this up on a couple of shows this
week it's blown my mind because we entered the season so excited how Gadsden finished his rookie
year and then you get Mike McDaniel like holy cow give me Gadsden with Mike McDaniel and now we're
at a place where people are taking Charlie Kolar and David Njoku over him and I understand why
that's happened because of the rhetoric how things have played out in the preseason but man I'm with
you there still is that element of like isn't it this all clicks in Los Angeles and everything's
humming that in the same way Keaton Mitchell is going to find a way to get there on a per touch
basis that even Gadsden on limited volume could still be a contributor in this offense
yeah I could not have said it better myself like I think you know how as important as it is to
continue like listen to the coach speak and understand the nuance of the situation of
you know Kohler and Njoku also being brought in I still am just so excited about Gadsden and what
he could do in year two just from a pure perspective of like we've seen these type of tight ends be
successful under Mike McDaniel we've seen Jonu Smith who's no blocking savant himself be a massive
fantasy producer Darren Waller dusty Darren Waller last season he ain't blocking and he's out there
scoring a shit ton of fantasy points in 2025 so McDaniel knows how to use a receiving tight end
maybe better than anybody in the league in my opinion and I think we're losing the forest
through the trees if that's the right way to say that of like we're getting too concerned
about the extrinsic factors with Aranda Gadsden when this guy put up an awesome rookie year
you can see what did he have going back down to his rookie season production I mean he was
74th percentile in fantasy points per game with 8.9 78th percentile in receiving yards per game
really really solid stuff 13.5 yards per reception that's up there I'll speak of
the devil that's up there with Charlie Kalar in the fourth position just really
interesting stuff and like if you're familiar with my work you'll know that I do um I do stuff
on these guys like year two comps and Gadsden's year two comps are legitimately insane he pulls
like Travis Kelsey George Kittle some of these major major like upside swings um from what he
did on his rookie season and given his prospect profile as well being like a prolific receiver
so Gadsden I mean what we're really worried about is this number right here right this
right this routes per game 26.6 this was 17th if he gets 26.6 routes per game in 2026 we're we're
screaming and dancing we're so excited right like this is the number we're worried about it dropping
he's around Sam Laporta George Kittle um you know 17th in the league that's not going to hurt us
what's going to hurt us is if we go over to a guy like Isaiah likely and we look down at routes per
game 17. this is 43rd percentile down with guys like Colby Parkinson Michael Mayer I mean like
literally just a handcuffed tight end Michael Mayer Don Kincaid the other guy we're going to
talk about 17.1 so this is the range of if we see Gadsden drop to here it gets a little bit
more concerning but that being said why are we pricing Kincaid and likely like we are when this
is what we've seen from them this is their routes per game this is the number we're worried about
Gadsden potentially getting to so it's just the math isn't math in for me
in terms of the prices on these three guys yeah no I I'm with you like you think about the premium
you're paying likely specifically um because at least with Kincaid you're getting access to the
Bill's offense we have Shakir banged up right now um you know I I get the enthusiasm there but
likely we've just never seen it from him and now he goes to a situation that wasn't as good as he
had it last year he's still going to lose snaps to the other tight ends on the roster and then another
guy to include in this list is the trendy version of a Ronda Gadsden which is Terrence Ferguson who is
now getting teamed up into this similar range and it's it really comes down to like a rhetoric
conversation as well right where it's like Sean McVay has talked glowingly about how he wants to
use Terrence Ferguson um he does clearly look like the third best pass catcher on the team beyond
but I'm with you man like there is this element where I do think with a Ronda Gadsden as far as
the pre-draft goes he does feel like a guy who's not going to run enough routes at the start of
the season and you're probably cutting him and he ends up on the waiver wire but in the same way we
talk about these other late season plays these rookies these guys with contingent value Gadsden
to me still represents as like a late round last round tight end a third tight end in a
best ball build that gives you that juice you need when you get to the playoffs and it just
comes down to are you willing to sacrifice some routes at the early season let the chaos kick
in trust that Mike McDaniel finds a way to get a guy as talented as Gadsden involved it does take
a leap of faith the rhetoric has been pretty damning but I think I'm with you man like there
just aren't a lot of guys like this in round 17 or 18 anymore and you kind of just want to zoom out
a bit on it yeah no the upside upside with Gadsden is higher than any of the guys you're getting in
that range like I mean I don't know I from a best ball perspective maybe it's different because yeah
sure there is a chance Gadsden
is a zero or I mean close to a zero in terms of just not getting enough routes that sort of thing
but in a redraft
league where you can just cut Gadsden if he's not you know if he's not getting the routes that he
needs to be productive or you just draft him and it where our thesis is entirely wrong from this
offseason he comes out and is a top six tight end that's just a massive win getting that in
the last round of your draft so I'm very interested I'm not standing for any Aranda
Gadsden slander like we're going to get to the season and see how it shakes out but this is one
of my favorite guys at their current cost across the entire board and I'm going to drop in the chat
here you have a you have a couple articles out you have a risers and fallers article um and as
you've kind of shifted things around in your rankings and then also the article I just
referenced and highlighted in the newsletter today looking at the my guys for all of the
fantasy life rankings contributors you can go and get Alex's uh full
list in there uh a couple other tight ends and uh speaking of staying 10 toes down I mean Ashton
Jenty you're not wavering I like this you're like Charlie Kolar no Gadsden Ashton Jenty injury no no
I'm still there I mean you're telling me now we're getting Jenty in the second round like
when he might just play week one I'm just buying any sort of discount man the thesis
the thesis doesn't change with Jenty for me I'm not worried about Mike Washington
he's a prolific running back yeah that's a whole nother conversation that could go on
about well here's the deal guys so go uh starting next week the uh the Cups and Pete show uh will be
on Fridays because it's going to be part of my weekly DFS block Cups is going to be kicking that
off we are aiming for 12 15 p.m eastern on Fridays that'll lead right into the show with JM to win
the block party next week I'll have a full announcement on all of my schedule and how the
piece is there but one thing I know for sure Cups and me 12 15 every Friday we'll be digging into
different analytical trends usage trends utilization and then with putting an eye
toward how to apply that to DFS your start sit decisions all of that good stuff looking forward
to that a ton and then in the meantime you guys got to go check out all of Alex's work up on
fantasy life anything else I'm forgetting here Cups nope that's that sounds like about it I'm
super stoked for
our Friday show starting next week 12 15 eastern everyone make sure you tune in for that DFS block
gonna be an awesome show but yeah thanks again for having me on Pete and looking forward to
getting into the season with you oh yeah and speaking of Friday shows as well another mention
here we have the T's and P's guillotine league draft that's going down Friday night we're going
to be streaming it here and on the T's and P's guillotine channel that's 7 30 p.m eastern uh
Cups is in the league our next guest who's coming on here Chad Candles is in the league uh tune into
that we're gonna have a lot of people in the league swinging by uh for 10 15 minute spots as
Tony and I uh proceed over a very fun guillotine league draft so yeah hopefully I can uh catch you
for a little bit on Friday night as well yes sir sounds good looking forward to it all right
peace we will see you later there goes my quant Alex Cups and now uh bringing to the stage here
uh one Mr. Chad Candles Chad how we doing this morning we're doing great how you doing Pete
I'm doing good man um you know I I you know this because I I messaged you this morning the the
audience doesn't know this but in about seven or eight minutes I'm actually gonna leave and I think
in maybe program history other than if I have to like run and get man sunglasses or something
I am going to let Chad be the captain of this stream for about 30 minutes because
my daughter started preschool today we dropped her off this morning she did awesome and she has
a half day to do this so I'm gonna let her do it I'm gonna let her do it I'm gonna let her do it
and I need to go pick her up at 11 a.m and I said you know what I'm not canceling the stream I'm not
moving everything around I need to call in the guy that I entrust on the sticks and it certainly is
not Adam Levitan no while I'm gone and that is going to be Chad Candles so you guys are going
to be in his hands from about 10 45 to 11 15 are you prepared for this job Chad I am ready I was
I was thinking this feels a lot like when you're a kid and you're in the checkout line and your
person's never gone faster in their life and you're just like slowly moving up like what do
I do so I I'm you know I'm excited this is gonna be awesome but I you know it's it's a I'm I'm
pumped to be on I'm pumped to be handling the sticks and let's let's do this I'm ready here
is my idea and I haven't told you this yet but this is my thought uh what I was gonna do before
I realized that uh I need to need to be a good father I wanted to do a 250 dollar uh I believe
it's great Dane too so this is what's gonna happen I'm gonna I'm gonna
Venmo you 250 dollars I want you to draft a team for us while I'm gone and then I'm gonna come back
and I'm gonna see if I like what you did for us with my 250 dollars how does that sound
yeah yeah I mean I I'm I'm not looking forward to the charge back uh you know Venmo I've never
been through that but hopefully hopefully you're happy with the team I'm I'm pumped that sounds
awesome what uh what have you been drafting here as we enter this final home stretch about a week
until uh contest lock here
I had saved 50 BBMs for way too late so I'm fortunately mostly doing them I've done I think
I've only done one husky but I really like the husky format's great um yeah in in a limb slows
I'm like still in a limb slow hell and it's and it's miserable and the clocks are moving faster
and faster I'm like I gotta finish these you're in okay because I was just looking this morning
I'm down to like four or five I mean some of us just timed it perfectly Chad some of us didn't
FOMO into it at the last second I FOMOed in I FOMOed in I had I had a lot of time to do this
I had 49 I had to do like past the like the the tweet like if you're gonna end up on four hour
clocks I'm like yeah how bad could it be I'm like it's bad bad uh here's what we're gonna do too
before I leave I do need to do one coffee giveaway here to get this rolling we're gonna have three
here today um let's do uh hashtag candles in the chat in honor of our captain here for
the next 30 minutes hashtag candles one of you guys will win
a uh a 12 ounce bag of vasileros and son's coffee get that in the chat and I will do this
in a couple of minutes before I leave um I am curious as these trickle in here Chad who else
uh are you trying to click here down the home stretch the the new clicks I should say not the
guys we've been clicking all summer who's on your menu um sadly it's well Emmett Johnson and Chris
Bell is sort of the chalk answer I had been clicking some Emmett Johnson but getting more
aggressive Chris Bell last time you had me on yeah literally like the day before he came back
I'm like I don't know it could be a red shirt year for Chris Bell and I like I'm like ah I'm like
that was like the worst take I've ever had and it was with you uh yeah Chris Bell he's back he's
played in the preseason I I just I had no idea he was that close to ready like you'd get kind of
the like the word like oh he's progressing well never in my wildest dreams did I think like week
one Chris Bell
so got that wrong and it's my own team so that's not great did you hear uh did you hear Derek Carr
uh tout Malik Willis on the randomizer yesterday I did I loved it I was all in on that which again
like I guess it kind of surprised me because I assume if you're a quarterback you'd kind of
gravitate to the quarterbacks who are stylistically similar to you that the pocket passer and he comes
out here and he's like I'm fired up for Malik Willis I was like all right let's go I do you
were gonna be fist pumping that somewhere yeah I love I love those takes
um I don't know who else it was funny you guys uh you and cups talked about Gadsden I had I had
Nez on earlier and I took my first share in months of a Ronday Gadsden round 18 I was like what are
we doing here like this feels like a decent round 18 click like Kolar went two rounds ahead I'm like
maybe maybe we should leave the light on for this guy maybe I mean once we're taking Terrence
Ferguson in round like this is what I'll say if you're taking Terrence Ferguson in round 11 you
should be interested in Gadsden in round 18 that's that's all I'll say
um all right here's what we're gonna do we are gonna spin the coffee and then uh spin the coffee
spin the wheel for the coffee Chad in the meantime do you want to get your screen shared down here
so I can get that pulled up for you um but good luck to everyone here like I said we'll do two
more coffee giveaways Chad is gonna do a draft I'll be back uh to review it with him and then
we're gonna have Roto Pat at 11 30 a.m eastern and we'll have Eric Bime for on at 12 15 p.m
congratulations to Judson Baldwin here love the
avatar on a hike here looks like Arizona with his daughter presumably in the travel backpack
I tried to do one of those Chad I don't know if you guys ever had those for your for your kiddo
and it was great when she was like two years old and now she weighs like 40 pounds and I did one
around the block and I was like I'm in decent shape and I was dying trying to carry a 40 pound
you know rucksack there he was fine in the like like papoose thing and then when he graduated to
the over thing I'm like and I'm like no I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna
no it's it's not happening he can walk himself if he wants to come on the hike there you go yeah
I know now we're in that weird territory too where it's like you you can't carry them so you can't go
on a long hike and but they're gonna want to walk and so now you're boxed into like can you get I
mean we bring our scooter so we can get our scooter for like half a mile but walks now require a lot
of cajoling mine wants to walk everywhere but he walks like three miles an hour so it's just like
library. It's like a five minute walk with him. It's like 15. All right. Seriously.
Seriously. Yes. Brad, we haven't talked about this news this morning. We've talked about a
few things, but George Kittle expected to play week one. You know, the rhetoric, even for the
George Kittle bros, myself included, has been like, yeah, he might not go on the flight to
Australia. Stay home, rest up. No, he's going on that flight, Chad. I can't believe it. I was of
the same view. I also weirdly thought the season opened with the Australia game because like,
doesn't it make sense? They start that on a Wednesday. It's like Wednesday here or Wednesday
here, Thursday there. No, they're just playing in Seattle on Wednesday night for no reason. I've
like had this wrong in my head until like today. I'm like, what? Like I thought they had an extra
day to fly back, which even more surprising Kittle's playing. That is surprising. I guess
I didn't realize that. I didn't realize that either here. All right. Let's get your screen
up here. The Great Dane to $250 entry. This is going to be Chad drafting. I am paying for this
contest. I will be,
uh, Venmo-ing Chad here and I am going to come back in about a half an hour here and I'm going
to see how you did in this draft and I cannot wait. Um, Chad, I should be back around 1115,
maybe 1120. Um, but I trust you to hold down the fort. Feel free if the drought finishes.
All right. We got a, what do you got? Invalid entry count. Entry count must be greater than
zero. It's the, it thinks I'm trying to like just scam $250. I swear. I want one, one entry.
Just one. I don't know why I have to type one in. We're in. How many more do we need for you here?
Three waiting for three. So there's just like eight sharks or seven sharks just sitting in
here. Dear God. Here we go. What in this one's called, what is this? The Great Dane two?
Yes. And it's a 250. And how much money's up top in this one, Chad?
This one is for the 11 finalists. You're playing for 25 K up top.
25,000 up top. All right.
Chad, I am heading out. You are the captain. Now I'm going to get you the solo box here.
Everybody. I know most of you here all know, Chad, you all love Chad. For some reason,
if you don't, uh, be nice to Chad. Um, I will say this. I, I forgot to get you in my stream yard.
So you're not going to be able to pull up comments. You can read comments. Can you see
them? You can read them, right? This is Odysseus here. I am tied to the mask. I can't click
anything. I'm begging. I'm trying to bring all these up on screen. I can't do it. No, it's okay
though. I can read them. Okay.
If you, if you want, I can get you signed in on my stream right now. Or should we just
let it rip? No, let's just let it rip. Let's just, let's just go. We're good. We got the
10. I know Chad will read your comments out loud. They just aren't going to pop up on
the screen. We'll figure that out for next time. But, uh, all right guys, I will see
you in about a half hour. Chad is the captain now. And Chad, you know, you, you got permission.
You want to do what you want. You want to tell him to smash the like button. You want
to give coffee away. This is your show now, brother. We'll catch you in a little bit.
All right.
Here we are. I mean, this is crazy. This is crazy. Thanks everyone for coming in, hanging
out. Uh, this is the big chair. We got the 10 hole. I do have to say streaming solo,
not being able to click on the chat. I'm, I'm tempted here, but Willis, I did not prepare.
I did not prepare for class. I was afraid, you know, I don't, I have not yet won the
giveaway that shouldn't stop me from ordering the delicious basilaris and son's coffee.
So that's completely on me, you know, failing to failing to prepare is planning to fail,
but you know what?
We're going to do our best. People want the board. I'm already getting yelled at frog
clone, already screaming at me. The draft hasn't even started frog clone. The draft.
I mean, I mean, my God, my God. Yeah. So, I mean, here we go. Put in head. Let's see
who we got in here. Put in head. Hawk bird, small tar, these, these high rollers. I don't
even know most of these people. We got hot sea sauce in at the six goods at the seven
shady advice at the 12. So there we go. I thought I was.
Marked safe. I got all the way up to 10. Didn't see shady in here. We got shady. I know Randers
pretty high volume player, but best of luck, everyone. We do have our trusty sidekick that
if we need to lean on, but you guys know, we're just, we're going to click whoever we want here.
Please ignore these ranks. These are from the 101 Dalmatians when I
was autoing and I was just trying to get a big position on Jonathan Taylor. I don't actually
take him at three most of the time, but just wanted to get, do a conversation. I'm going to
where I got a little bit overweight on him. Also kicked out some players just in case we auto
draft. I don't think I have Jaden blue rated anymore. I think I moved, um, Jacob's back pretty
far. Let's hear, let's see where we end up though. Wouldn't mind starting RBRB here, but you know
what? Let's take CD lamb. Let's take CD lamb on this team. So there we go. CD lamb. Welcome to
the team. We're not going to do anything too, too,
crazy to start off. You know, we don't want, we don't want Pete thinking that we're
going all willy nilly with his, uh, with his funds, but I'm excited. I'm excited.
Fan duel is now available everywhere in the U S
so you can get in on the sports action, no matter where you are, including these places.
Make this your most rewarding season ever.
Gambling problem. Call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Jonathan, uh, dear God, here we go. I feel like a BB chosen here. It's, it is hard not being able
to bring this up. Case Brown would be my selection. It's a little harder for me to click Omari and
Hampton immediately after the Hampton discussion. I'm going to have to, I'm going to have to, I'm
with his quant cups. I had been bearish on Hampton myself. I had ranked him a little lower.
I think in my heart of hearts, if I'm going to do my team on this channel, it's a Chan.
It is a Chan with the second pick. So we'll start a Chan CD lamb. One of my highest exposures that
I have myself is Malik Willis. I've been a big Malik Willis believer this season. Don't mind
pairing him with a Chan. I do feel like, you know, when you have the threat of the Russian
quarterback, that's going to open up some lanes for a Chan. The team is going to be built around
running the football. A Chan is going to struggle to have a good season if Malik Willis struggle.
So I do feel like their fates are somewhat tied together. I don't think we're going to necessarily
get the two, uh, H and dump off kind of stuff that we had with McDaniels, but I do feel like
they're going to scheme up a little bit of that. And again, more than happy to get,
both of them together. Indeed, Willis, we are setting up the Miami stack here, checking in
on shady. He goes Saquon Walker goods here. Good goods. Last year's big board champ. He goes,
I'm on raw Omari and Hampton. We are often running our first great Dane of the year. The great Dane
snap filled. I don't even know that I saw the great Dane one. So there's definitely some hunger
for these high stakes contests really like the 11 seat final. I think that means, you know,
maybe a little bit less emphasis on feeling like we have to get super duper unique,
more than happy to take some of these chalk combos that we have. Um, time box contest,
you know, Marshawn Lloyd here. If we, if we take him, you know, in the seventies, between the
seventies and nineties, I'm not, I do not have to worry about teams that got him at pick one 80 and
50. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not,
frankly with some of these guys that have risen a lot. Um, I am going to grab them. If I think
they're the guy that you need, I'd rather have them than not have them. So we can definitely be
more agnostic as far as grabbing guys that have risen up. Then maybe, you know, keeping that in
the back of your mind in BBM. Um, but yes, I know I do see annex wall delusional Miami bulls.
I just, I, I don't think we're going to be quite as bad as some people,
I really feel like there's a world where yes, we are going to have our down games,
but again, that's why I really like Malik Willis in the three QB builds. I know that, uh, on the
leg up channel, they were talking about the need for three QB is slightly lessened now that we have
all of the bi-week information. But when I build around a Malik Willis stack, I do feel like I like
the, uh, I like the comfy three QB builds. If he's someone that I'm going to be building around,
yeah, I'm, I am not totally, totally a blind Homer. I do feel like the dolphins, uh, are,
are going to have their struggles, but we can, we can construct around that. Cause I think they're
also going to have some pretty darn good games. And again, Derek Carr, if Derek Carr is in on
Malik Willis, who am I to disagree boards coming to a sidekick is all orange. At this point,
I tend to agree. My preference would have been one of Devonta Smith or T Higgins,
T falls to us. So I think we do that. Glad of course would have been a perfectly fine
pick as well. As you can see, I am more heavily exposed to T than I am lad, but let's get our guy
there in T Higgins. We'll see who we get on the wrap. Both the 11 and 12 hole went heavy RB to
start when RBRB, we will see if that continues and we will see what shady advice does. He takes,
waddle, and who does he pair him with? He winds.
the clock he takes his time he takes travis etienne there we go so he takes three rbs through
four rounds etienne certainly would have been in the short list of um guys we are considering here
i mean if i if i am going to draft my truth here i'm going to take my guy colston loveland
i really think he has a chance to be on par with the two elite tight ends with bowers and mcbride
do I prefer him later in the forties? Absolutely. But you know, you are not going to get
Loveland with, uh, you know, lamb H and, um, and then one of these guys over on the left.
So if I think Loveland is, is the tight end, you might need this season. I am more than happy to
take him here. Ideally at 58, one of these running backs falls back to us again, $250 draft. I think
people tend to play a little more conservatively, at least from the ones that I've seen done.
I think there is a coziness in taking running back, but we will, uh, you know,
we will chance it and we will take our guy Colston Loveland.
Yes. Loveland over Scadabo. Unfortunately I have, uh, I have capitulated, but Scadabo
falls in some of these rooms. Scadabo, you know, he, he is getting enough thud right now on the
Twitter streets. I mean, I think some of it is a little beat reporter nonsense when you're,
when you're saying that.
The defense is souring on him. It's like, well, you know, who's going to sour on him is,
is the opposing teams when he's, when he's hopefully running through them. So
again, I, I think some of that is, you know, manufacturing clicks. Could he annoy Harbaugh?
Sure. You know, Harbaugh is definitely a bit of a curmudgeon, but I think these,
these coaches want to win. I think they're going to see that Scadabo has a whole lot more to offer
than Najee Harris. And, you know, obviously not a huge vote of confidence in Tracy there. So I'm,
I'm still in on scat, but, you know, I think from this side of the board,
I do have faith that we're going to be able to build around Loveland and then someone else coming in.
Yeah. Who Hames? I agree. The reporters just don't seem to like Scadabo.
And yes, Willis does note Scadabo is week 17 with CD lamb, something to keep in mind. But again,
in an 11 person final, you know, the week 17, I think,
is slightly less important to me anyway. We're not trying to beat out a particularly large field. So
I'm, I'm fine. You know, if, if Dallas, New York shoots out and, you know, lamb is scoring well,
I'm going to be fine with that. Even if I don't necessarily have the exact pieces on the other
side. So I'm, I'm happy to do that. Seeing some of these running backs go off the board,
Judkins at 51, uh, you know, Bucky Irving, he's a guy that had,
been trying to get a heck of a lot more lately with the fact that Sean Tucker
allegedly was near the cut line, had to take a pay cut to even stay on the team
possibility that Bucky regains the goal line role with a healthy shoulder.
I have been trying to get more Bucky after having sort of a soft fade on him
earlier on in the cycle. But, um, yeah, I was hoping one of these running backs would fall
to us. Maybe Judarian price or Ramon Dre would be interesting clicks for us.
Josh Jacobs again would take a lot for me, you know, to be perfectly candid to click on
Josh Jacobs here. I have Ramon Dre ranked somewhat high. We will see what we get though.
We'll see what we get TF. He takes a Lamar Jackson. So it does not go to the, uh, to the
flowers drafter Ramon Dre goes right here. So again, I think we take Judarian price in this
spot. I don't think Judarian price,
would make it, make it back to me. I was debating had price and Ramon Dre been there,
maybe trying to get greedy, maybe taking one of these receivers, namely Christian Watson and
pushing them, but, uh, couldn't afford to wait there with Ramon Dre off the board.
We'll take Judarian price. The difficult click for me would have been, uh, would have been
Travion who I'm just generally not in on Travion. And if I'm not in on a guy getting
him in a $250 draft, doesn't feel, doesn't feel the best. So we'll see what color for life does
again, you know, taking Loveland here and then Warren Warren coming to us, not necessarily the
position we most want it to be in. We'll see what Cutler for life does. And then, uh, and then make
a call. So he takes the Travion temptation off the board. Let's just go. Let's just go Joe Burrow.
Let's go Joe Burrow. I do. I do feel like there is a world.
Jaden Daniels is outscoring him, but we did go ahead and pull up T Higgins there. So let's lean
into the stack. Let's draft. Like we're right with, uh, we're taking Higgins over lad. We'll
take Joe Burrow there. You know, certainly the argument could be made that Daniels has been
rightly falling with the state of the offensive line with how poor the commanders have allegedly
looked in practice. Happy to take Joe Burrow again. Was that maybe a little bit of a
paint by numbers, click stacking up Higgins. Yes. But this, this range has gotten, this range has
gotten dire. This range has gotten dire. I absolutely had, um, had Ramondre still been
there. I would have taken a Ramondre to get to a third running back in the spot. I would have taken
him over Burrow, but once Travion, even that temptation went off the board, I wasn't going to
pull up Brooks. I wasn't going to pull up Warren there. Uh, I think that just made the most sense.
We'll see if this is a three QB,
team. I do still consider Joe Burrow. I mean, remember the, the great Joe Burrow wars of last
year where Joe Burrow always went around picks. Uh, he either went at pick 49 slash 51, right?
Because Jamar chase and T Higgins both went on the left side of the board. And so, and so Burrow
always went with them and it just, the Joe Burrow drafters would try to push,
push Jamar chase all the way around to pick 71, 72, at least this year, Higgins and chase are
split up. So Burrow kind of falls in a bigger range, but I do remember the great integrity
protectors last year. It was one of my favorite bits was just watching Burrow. You know, if he
made it past, uh, if he made it past pick 50, sometimes we'd get all the way around to 71.
So I do like the way the team's going so far. Michael O'Hara. Good morning to you.
Appreciate you. Thanks for, thanks for hanging out. Um, I saw the JM to win stuff, Barry Sanders about
wide receiver one. Similarly, uh, cups cups was very bullish on Jacoby Myers too. I mean,
Jacoby gets pigeonholed as this like very, very boring player. My personal experience with Jacoby
was he was on my team that qualified for the dog bowl and he provided 3.2 fantasy points. So
while I did still get there, it was, it was in spite of Jacoby Myers. I don't mind him.
I mean, if, if we really do think that Travis Hunter is now,
a, you know, eight to 10 offensive plays a game, the backup to BTJ and Jacoby Myers is just about
a full-time player. I, I don't know if I agree that he's really wide receiver one, but I'm also
a bit of a Parker Washington, uh, extremist. So I might not be the most reliable narrator,
but I do think Jacoby Myers has, has a role on this team. That's probably gonna be a fair,
fairly fantasy friendly one. At least at times I did see that he was sporting a
brace on his wrist. According to some reports, it again, hard to tell how serious some of these
things were or are, but, uh, not, not something that I had like really docked him overly for
looking at the sidekick. It's recommending Pollard, Dowdle and Dak. Dak of course does
make sense as a stacking partner with lamb might be a little bit aggressive,
uh, maybe a little bit aggressive taking him here. What is our wide receivers available?
Okay. So Chris Godwin went, Chris Godwin has become my sort of comfy, uh, wide receiver click,
but he gets pushed up a lot. Now lately running back is gosh, it's so grim, huh? It is grim. I
do see why Dak is at the top of the, uh, of the charts. Caleb is here. Do we have reason to try
to push either of these guys? Gosh, Pete's going to hate this. It's going to hate this. Um, all
I will take Dak here. I think this way, this now I think becomes a two QB team.
I'm somewhat comfortable taking Burrow and Dak like this running back again. It's, it's pretty
dark. We've got Harvey Dobbins, Mason, none of these picks eliciting a whole lot of excitement
at running back. We had the chance to get Josh downs, Cortland son, Addison,
a bunch of wide receiver twos that we don't feel particularly amazing about. So I am, uh,
very, very curious spot, very difficult draft room that we are currently navigating right now.
But you know what? I feel like we're, I feel like we're holding our own. I feel like we're holding
our own here. Tucker craft at the top of the kick. I only have 3% Tucker craft. Uh, he goes to shady
who double taps tight ends, takes Laporta and craft. They're wouldn't have necessarily minded
getting craft on this team, but that is okay. And gosh, now, now's where we, now's where we,
we go rogue.
Now is where we take the most anti-Cabal pick.
of all i think i'm going to take michael wilson here and i know this is controversial i don't
even think the kick has him recommended whatsoever so with apologies to pete we're going to take our
guy michael wilson we're swinging for upside we are trying to win a 250 contest i don't want to
necessarily play it safe i think there's a chance that michael wilson does kind of pick up where he
left off last year again it's hard to tell what mhj hate is real and what is it just like beat
reporters with an axe to grind you know every time mhj messes up it makes the twitter rounds
yeah i see i see i see some yucks purple yosh asking what's going on there was a coup
there was a coup purple yosh no pete had to uh pete had to pick up his kid so i am uh
i am driving this train right now for better or for worse but you know what
you know what i'm going to take this train right now for better or for worse
again i told you know pete gave me free reign to draft the team how i wanted to draft i am
not going to come on here and uh and and button things up too tight we're going to do our best
we are doing our best here but yeah michael wilson again i i like his week 17 game i know
you know again i'm talking about this 11 person contest so that doesn't matter so maybe this is
more for other contests factoring that in but again this is going to be a lousy team this
cardinals team their defense isn't very good they're going to be throwing the ball a ton
maybe it's a little more up up and down when all their pieces are healthy with uh you know mhj
with a you know a lot of wilson's production did come on games that mhj missed but
again i do feel like he is alive to have certain spike weeks i do think they're still going to have
to throw a ton are they going to drop back 60 times a game like last year probably not but
maybe they do maybe they do and so we will see what we can get on this team again running back
but we just successfully drafted uh you know on my stream uh had nez on shout out nez i see you
out here in the chat appreciate you so much we drafted a pretty pretty good zero rb team that
was in way worse shape at this point in the draft than having uh hn and judarian price so
perfectly fine to to let that happen um you know maybe maybe if we were a little more alive
marshawn lloyd at pick 91 probably would have been um a good selection marshawn lloyd is this
is going to be his adp in this contest i am now of the view that jacobs is more likely than not to
miss the uh the season so again you know when you're uh when you're falling behind at running
back that's the kind of thing to look out for probably should have taken lloyd but you know
what we have michael wilson we have michael wilson so what could go wrong there but hey you know what
when you when you do this kind of thing just tell me what you think about it and i'll see you next
the story that michael wilson can never stay healthy and uh caleb johnson is the the running
back you want that's that's what you have to do you have to pivot both in your draft and in the
cope that you tell yourself all right let's see what's coming up sidekick says harold fannin
rashad white don't mind those particular picks stribling goes at 102 stribling would have been in
consideration at that point um
gosh i'm i'm sorry i'm sorry everyone i'm sorry cabal i'm going to take c rod here
i like chris rodriguez i think the running backs are are just absolutely dismal kyle
at week to week i don't really like that i feel like you know chris rodriguez probably
coin flipping to out to out touch uh tootin in a given week again maybe that's being overly
bullish on our guy chris rodriguez but happy to add him to the team if i want one of these tight
ends franklin i'm going to take c rodriguez and i'm going to take c rodriguez and i'm going to
have pitts fannin and kittle all fairly tightly bunched in my sort of mental model of guys we
also have loveland already on this team so don't necessarily need a receiver if we took one
probably be pittman or pierce sidekick screaming at me to take fan and fan and it's off the board
but you know what if george kittle is going to be making the flight to australia let's just grab him
let's grab ourselves some george kittle so there we go we'll have some
more flexibility at tight end maybe this gives us the chance to push ourselves um you know push
our round 18 pick to the tight end position again we may or may not need another quarterback i know
i said i was thinking about malik willis but when you have burrow and dack again you you don't really
want to go into a draft with a super firm plan that you're not willing to deviate from so yeah
ev hates the draft double yuck i'm sorry evg i'm sorry i'm uh you know
you can always sub to the chad candles youtube channel and uh we draft all kinds of teams some
of them good some of them not so good so hopefully hopefully this one we can land the plane let's
check in on friends and family though shady advice with a one three four two he's got saquon ken
walker waddle and etienne and has since completely backed off a running back tate odunze laporta
kraft kc conception and beau nix as his qb1 gets nix stacked with waddle there at the turn that's
always nice because it's sometimes hard to set up those stacks when you're at the turn because
you're really at the mercy of the entire room so nice team there from shady let's see what goods
is up to one three four two he did the uh i believe they coined this the rainbow flop yesterday
i'm on raw hampton mcbride and alan so doing the bit where you tell yourself you have the
top score at each position follows it up with mike evans not worried about the substation or
that evans seemingly can't finish a practice healthy
warren pollard sutton dobbins and romeo dobbs so fun team there from mr goods we now start to see
the three qb panic emerging over on the left side of the board we'll see if that contagion spreads
but pretty golf and mayfield for one draft or t loss stafford and love for another but i'm i'm
feeling pretty good i'm feeling pretty good at where we are at again would i feel better had
we taken uh marshawn lloyd
i do feel like that's the kind of gold star i should have could have shown to pete but
instead i get to show pete that we took michael wilson but no worries there
khalil shakir on the top of the kick i don't love that he like hasn't practiced starting to get a
little a little less comfy on this uh malik excuse me on this khalil shakir pick that i have a 14
percent of maybe uh maybe wish that was backed off just a touch but goods takes care of that
he takes uh he takes shakir there let's see what tf and randers do in this position very interesting
that there's so many tight ends at the top of the kick um especially because we have loveland and
kittle here tebow off the board this is fertile ground for tight end randers randers takes away
the temptation of uh of malik willis but let's grab woody marks let's grab us some woody marks
i don't mind this here um you know some potential word that it might be more of a split with
monty than we think again it's um you know o'hara o'hara mentioned on their uh big gorilla draft
you know anytime anytime you can draft a uh aging running back who's on a pure volume profile you
got to do it in reference to montgomery so let's take the young upstart woody marks his biggest
problem was the blue tent so let's not be afraid of that let's get us some woody marks
onto this team a bunch of these tight ends go off the board kelsey ferguson there so shady up to
three early tight ends laporta craft fergie very interesting to see that i do like dallas goddard
a lot he comes off the board so do we just take do we take jonah coleman let's grab jonah coleman
let's grab jonah coleman here i think i'm okay pushing uh receiver a little bit i like some of
the late receiving options we might be able to pick up
so i do feel like we're kind of uh you know we're kind of land in the plane a little bit
we're kind of land in the plane a little bit we got burrow and dac achan judarian price c rod
woody marks jonah coleman cd lamb t higgins michael wilson and then loveland and kittle i
like this team i like this team so far i gotta say coker podium pick according to listoic
the weird thing about coker is i just feel like i haven't heard him like i haven't heard his
name all all summer like what is like i assume that's not like the worst thing like he's not
like getting beaten out i know i have plenty of um dead chris brazel teams but i don't know
i don't know yeah good thing can you take stop taking the running backs look i got i got behind
it running back and i i am trying to catch up with volume but individually i like all the guys that
we have here i feel like they all are kind of standalone plus contingent value bets and we've
the rico dowdle bet last year when he was going to have a standalone role and then when chuba
hubbard went down he was kind of a smash i like those players that i think have a chance to hit
my lineup in a normal week but also have a uh a pretty solid amount of upside should there be
should there be an injury to the starter yeah fantasy geek that's probably true if you haven't
heard their name and they're a veteran that's probably probably is a good thing and yeah go
easy cards with the counterpoint heard plenty of blue news
so you know maybe uh maybe a little bit of truth in that maybe a little bit of truth in that so
let's see so we got a two five
three, two. Bunch of quarterbacks now at the top of the ADP charts. Chuck Darnold, CJ Stroud now
all past ADP at this point. But again, we're not going to rule out a third quarterback,
especially having Loveland and Kittle. This could also end up as a two tight end team.
We'll see what the room provides to us. This TF drafter only has one quarterback.
It's Lamar Jackson. So we'll see if they go ahead and take anyone. What are the wide receivers? So
we already appear to have missed out on our guy, Trey Harris, who's usually a target for me kind of
in this, or excuse me, Trey Tucker, target put in head over on the left side of the board, took him.
You will find yourself having to do that when
you're in the middle of the game. So we'll see what the room provides to us.
You are on the turn, sometimes just pulling guys up sidekick though. It's begging me. It says,
please, please take a wide receiver. We will oblige it by taking Don Tavian Wicks,
who I do like, not just because of the candle bit. Let's just be clear on that.
But I do think he is a wide receiver too in Philly. We will see how quickly lemon comes along.
And yeah, I just, I like him for early season stuff. And I also think he might just
he might not go away. Wicks, Wicks has always been very talented. Two years ago was the drops
that seems to have gotten sorted. Make this your most rewarding season ever with Fan Duel. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Now super crowded wide receiver room in Green Bay. And, uh, but I'm, I'm happy to see what
he can do over on Philly. Again, sidekick asking for another wide receiver. We'll see if we get
any of them. We will see if we get one Jacoby Lane and Cam Ward go to Shady. Yeah. Shady noting
four of 12, two of eight, one of four 11 final is a fun solve. Yeah. Very different format,
very different format and advanced structure. Um, then, then some of the other ones,
Trey Harris is, is tempting. I think we just take Trey Harris. Yeah. I'm with the kick here. I only
have 5% Harris. I actually, you know, if you'd asked me before the draft, I would have thought
it was actually at eight to 10%. I thought it was clicking on more Trey Harris, but
he did go through that period where he had a minor injury that maybe as we all do, I overreacted
to and kind of stopped clicking him for longer than I thought. But yeah, I like, again, I like
the way that this team is, uh, is coming on. M Wald saying Trey Harris was a better target than
Tucker. Well, M Wald, good news. Good news. We got him. We got our guy Trey Harris here. So there
we go. Not bad. Uh, looking at potential late QB targets, no true, I guess Jacoby Brissett, but gosh,
Jacoby Brissett would stack with Michael Wilson.
That would be quite the leap of faith there.
Although there is an argument in this four of 12 structure.
Maybe,
maybe someone like a Brissett as a quote unquote advance rate piece would,
um,
would help.
Although I don't know,
I guess it's easier to advance.
So maybe I don't need a guy like Jacoby Brissett.
So scratch that.
Um,
yeah,
I like the way,
uh,
I like the way it's coming out.
Yeah.
Evie,
Evie,
I'm going to take a third QB even harder.
You've just hated my team so far.
So I think the most natural thing for me to do is to do whatever,
uh,
whatever you're,
whatever you're out on,
we're going to keep on doing,
but again,
sidekick is recommending a bunch of,
uh,
receivers here.
We'll keep the board up so people can see what's going on.
Shady at the turn,
he took ward and lane goods in the middle of the board.
Tajay Spears,
Dylan Sampson.
Gosh,
you were not lying about needing running backs.
This is a desperate man.
Pete,
welcome back.
Oh no.
I come back.
And the first thing I see is Woody marks.
Hey,
at least you got Kittle.
At least.
Yes,
we did.
We did.
All right.
Not only do you need to service the audio listeners,
you need to service me.
What have you done?
Pete,
I have a confession.
If I could have pick 87 back,
I would have taken Marshawn Lloyd.
Okay.
I wish I had done that.
So we went lamb H and Higgins.
We took Loveland.
Darian price.
Then we,
you know,
kind of double this isn't a double tap because our whole,
it's not the same turn,
but a burrow deck,
Michael Wilson,
this range is awful.
And this is the pick.
I wish I had back.
Cause I think Lloyd would have been like perfect.
Then Kittle,
Marks,
Coleman,
Dontavian,
Wicks,
Trey Harris.
It seems fine.
It seems fine.
Let's not be dramatic.
Watching his two 50 trickle down the drain.
I mean,
we'll recuperate like 32 of those dollars via AdSense.
It'll,
it'll work out guys.
It'll work out.
What do we,
what do we look at at here?
I was going to take Chris bell,
but I should have known that there was no,
no way on God's green earth.
A $250 draft would let him fall to pick one 78.
So we're now let's,
should we,
I KB a running back like a Kalen black or Ray Davis?
I was thinking I was actually going to start searching for,
I'm searching for Emma Johnson,
but yeah,
I think I'm,
I'm,
I'm Ray Davis or Bijan or Brian Robinson here.
Yeah,
I'm good.
Do we have any bi-week issues or any considerations there?
Or,
or do you think I,
all these receivers are the same.
I do like what maybe one more,
a running back.
Yeah,
let's I'll take Ray Davis.
All right.
Uh,
they say you nailed the coffee sponsor where I was gone too.
I shouted out Vassilaris and son's coffee and I,
and I,
people asked me to pour and I said,
well,
I can't because I didn't plan ahead and I didn't order,
uh,
the correct coffee.
So,
you know,
uh,
so what are we good?
Are you think we're two and two at the onesies?
I,
I am.
I really like my third tight ends.
So I usually like taking one in the last round.
I was thinking of taking another,
uh,
receiver here was the,
uh,
was the plan,
but yeah,
did JD take four QBs?
No,
hold on.
We got to check that.
Uh,
I'm Devon Valey kind of above all these two bronies,
but I am open to open to someone else.
You're,
you're making a noise.
No,
sorry.
I was just looking.
I'm,
I'm a Ted Hearst guy.
I also like Bailey.
I'm good with Bailey too on this team.
If we need a little bit more locked and loaded to start on a lighter wide
receiver room,
we need locked and loaded.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's do that.
I don't know.
Maybe,
maybe he got a little bit of good buzz,
so maybe he doesn't fall.
Um,
I don't know.
I don't hate this team actually.
Thanks.
I,
I don't either.
Uh,
yeah.
So do Darian price,
Chris Rodriguez,
Woody marks,
Jonah Coleman,
Ray Davis.
It's a good,
it's a good blend.
You had to get your dolphins guy,
right?
You had to get a Chan.
What,
who are you deciding a Chan verse in round two?
It was Hampton,
but you just had that whole segment with cups.
And I was like,
I can't take,
um,
I can't take Hampton here after this.
I,
that's,
that's my,
that's my,
you know,
you're one and I'm,
you know,
absolutely not.
So we went lamb.
I was tempted to go running back,
running back.
That felt way comfier,
but I'm like,
you know what?
I'm going to show all these people.
And then,
and then I like panicked at the turn and it was bad.
So,
you know what?
What's our advance rate in this one?
How many events?
We got this for a 12.
No problem.
You get your money back for advancing.
Just stone.
Just,
you know,
interest,
free loan to,
uh,
to,
to,
uh,
the,
uh,
underdog.
Is this true?
Go easy.
Card says you were all gun,
huh?
Gun,
huh?
Gun,
huh?
Without Pete.
And now he's gun shy.
What were you doing while I was gone?
Did you have your shirt off?
What was happening?
We were just taking our guys.
We took Michael Wilson.
The cabal hates Michael Wilson.
They do.
Yeah.
What did we get him at?
What pick?
87.
Again,
I,
I,
I,
I instant regret,
instant regret that I wasn't thinking about,
about Lloyd there.
That's on me.
So that's the,
that's basically the spirit of the,
the spite draft today.
You're like the cabal hates Michael Wilson.
So I will spite select him ahead of ADP,
uh,
for the people.
It's a gross range Pete.
Like,
what do I do?
I'm not taking,
like,
I can't take Caleb there.
I'd already made my bed with Burrow and Dak,
like Krosky merit,
Cortland Sutton,
like Matthew Golden,
maybe Matthew Golden,
I guess.
It's fine.
My Michael Wilson's.
I mean,
if we,
if we want to,
you know,
be generous to Michael Wilson,
he's the arbitrage Parker Washington,
the guy who crushed last year on a limited sample,
um,
who was just really good.
And what if that continues and you have to pay,
you know,
round four for Parker Washington and Michael Wilson is essentially free when
compared to that.
Instead of like chop wood,
carry water,
it's like order wood and get water delivered from Amazon.
Like it's like the discount version.
Everyone used to like get fired up about the MHJ versus Michael Wilson.
Wars.
And now like no one cares,
but like people used a lot of breath on that early in the summer.
Yes.
Nobody wants to talk about the Cardinals in general.
It's kind of like,
yeah,
let's,
uh,
let's talk about something else.
It's unless it's Jeremiah love carrying pizzas upstairs.
And then we're allowed to talk about them again.
Then all of a sudden,
nothing has ever been more,
more important in our lives here.
Yes.
Um,
it was,
let's see here.
Wow.
They say it was,
it was tool Chad without Pete.
Now he's back to nice.
Mr.
Nice ride tool.
Chad.
What was,
tell me what,
what tool ask things.
Chad.
is doing well i don't know i i mean i'm i'm this is terrible uh you know who gosh i'm kind of a
michael mayer truther you're ik being the tight end here okay i am i'm taking michael mayer i'm
taking our guy i love michael mayer i think michael mayer is kind of a jam you know because
the sidekick loves suggesting late tight ends and even the sidekick was saying chad you don't need
to force a tight end kick wants me to take jerry judy and cooper cup it's basically like it's
calling me mr rogers it's taking the most boring players you've seen in your life but it's like no
you you know you need them you can't do it yeah yes um let's so we have one more pick here we have
what are we at a two six six three is that where we're at yes sorry two six six three um i do come
on let's if the kick's gonna sign off on jaylen knoll
damn it
did we just get sniped on jaylen knoll
malachi fields is kind of fun
yeah let's have fun with this pick
let's have fun
look at this look how fun this is
yes we're we're having a great time
week 17 cd lamb malachi fields correlation for the win
i mean that's that's all you need they're saying and you you literally ignored michael mayer
michael wilson week 17 in an 11 person final like i mean how how crucial does that sound
um i've
the same question as sporky explain to me the reasoning for another tight end when you have
loveland and kittle because he's going to score more points than jerry judy will how did you not
say because he's going to score you more points on average because shady's in the chat i've you
know i got i got nervous i didn't i didn't want to insult anyone beautiful all right let's see
how did i just spend 250 how did we do i i think it's an i think it's a jam i mean did she i need
to see something how many
quarterbacks did shady take he took four did he take four okay i know now i feel like i should
have taken jacoby brissett that's the man says he and is saying that you were wearing a choker
chain and had your chest hair out while i was gone and there's no way for me to ever verify
if this happened like lord knows i'm not watching my own stream back so i'm just going to take his
word for it it was it was like the reverse of um of mike or of mcdaniel's you know he he got to
miami he was all like kind of nerdy and by the time he left he looked like like scar like an
extra in scarface now that that was the opposite i kind of butting buttoning myself back up as you
get here shadow chains were there any incredible comments that you so desperately wanted to pull
up on screen but didn't have the the capabilities to do so or or was uh were they throwing air balls
up in the chat i i read some out loud i was i was expecting just no shot like i almost i almost
think i could have i almost think i could have clicked some of them i mean i almost think i
could have kept up d would you say the chat did they earn uh another coffee giveaway on your watch
were they well behaved we i mean we had we had someone who was very rude who kept saying that
all the picks were bad is it this guy is it sporky no sporky sporky sporky is just is just
wrong i mean like i i want players that are going to hit my lineup i don't really you know care if
they're uh you know what what position they are at all times but no it was it was something you
know what we don't need to name name and shame but yes the chat the chat was very good they were
very kind we were very supportive groovy greg says you were king friday while i was gone and
then instantly reverted to daniel tiger as soon as i got back man that more and more evidence is
mounting that you are an entirely different person it's sort of like danny tanner like how
he's on the dad on full house and then bob saget's comedy is like absolutely raunchy that's that's
that's what you got here you know you got uh you got bob saget versus the uh the danny tanner
all right hit us with the full rundown for our audio listeners in this 250 great dane to draft
a chad and pete collab with just a very light uh you know sprinkle of pete input at the end
it might it might be just a dane like i'm reluctant to call it a great dane but we got a 2673
we got burrow and dac h and jadarian price c rod woody marks jonah coleman and ray day see what
another trick is give them the nickname when it's like kind of a wishy-washy pick
cd lamb higgins michael wilson uh duntavian wicks trey harris devon valet and malachi fields
and loveland kittle and michael mayor i mean my god what a team i do like i mean tight ends i mean
good luck outscoring us there i i feel like the the draft capital spent here i will say this
normally when you have like a burrow a dac and a loveland and kittle you would assume
your running backs and wide receivers look worse than this does
better i thought you were at the chat people no no it's the it's the opposite it's like when
you're spending you know top 100 picks on the onesies uh you worry about it but with lamb
higgins h and price and then i think we backfilled with some like chris rodriguez is just you know
objectively underpriced relative to what his role is going to be and then we still get some fun
upside juice with coleman woody marks is uh you know if you believe the reports like are you a
montgomery guy like the whole 50 50 stuff
with woody marks which which report were you indexing on i i had heard those reports and so
that was one of the things that pushed me there also uh o'hara on the with the big gorilla i think
it was a big gorilla they ran or maybe it was i don't remember the name of it but it was
unfortunately a main event if you're talking about on the state uh ship yeah that first that team
they drafted was awful but he did make a good point about like you know betting on the montgomery
profile is often a huge loser like the aging volume back but woody marks other than getting
like fairly effective i think you know a lot of these are like you know he's kind of like a
standalone plus contingent value guy i like those bets and i feel like i got that with uh we got
that with woody marks there don tabian wicks trey harris i like both of those picks there i do think
bailey was the right pick just being a little lighter at wide receiver there and the hope is
that you know kittle's hitting our tight end and we're flexing loveland uh a decent bit i would say
i i agree and i mean kittle making
that flight i mean it's a wheels up on kittle no pun intended uh it is crazy seeing uh bryce lance
there suggested by the sidekick uh obviously this is after round 18 i was doing the show
our guillotine league show with tony and he had mentioned uh bryce lance and i'm just like i think
you're i think you're digging too deep brother for uh for guillotine league plays which he probably
was but it is interesting to see bryce lance uh on the menu here uh to a degree
yeah do you i mean to me seeing turpin on here is uh i i haven't thought of turpin you know i know
buck famously was touting him all of last year and now maybe he just never wrong just early
look at these names yeah 18 team league though pete my my goodness that is uh you end up with
some names deep in uh deep in this you you mentioned buck i do have to shout out he uh
released a video yesterday the premise was he recorded a bbm draft with dave
davis and then he met up with me in person yep and he gave me a printout of the draft and i went
pick by pick uh roasting the picks i i think i was like uh had a near 90 95 percent hit rate of
understanding exactly how the conversation went down with buck and davis just seeing the picks
and knowing which picks davis likes and which ones bucks likes but go check that out on the
buck st thomas youtube channel it's a youtube collab as well so if you scroll to the bottom
of my page you'll see that collaboration down there and while i'm
promoting random things you also have to go watch the swole cast with davis yesterday
blindfolded draft 18 rounds i mean maybe one or two slight reaches uh but otherwise he absolutely
smashed it so that was a very entertaining watch and let the people know chad you just did a stream
here today let the people know what you have on tap on the channel chad candles youtube channel
upcoming yeah 8 30 a.m monday through friday uh today we had nez on he was an awesome guest and
we just uh we draft teams and sometimes we don't have a lot of time to do that so i'm just going to
let you know that it was a great time to watch the show and i appreciate you so much pete for uh
for having me on and letting me do the channel i appreciate you it was uh it was an awesome moment
got to see april after her first you know half day of preschool running up uh all smiles so it all
went good no meltdowns no crying and uh i got to have that moment you got to draft michael wilson

I saw someone in the chat a few minutes ago asking me my favorite.
I've been doing the classic roast.
I have yet to dip in.
I have so much classic roast that I'm enjoying it and working my way through it.
But I do need to try out some of the other varieties.
There's a bunch there in the store.
That link will take you there.
And you can check out, if you win, whichever 12-ounce bag you would like here.
So I am going to do another coffee pour while this is rolling in.
And then we will have Mr. Rotopat rolling in.
There we go.
There we go.
Fan Duel is now available everywhere in the U.S.

Gambling problem?
Call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Yes, the coffee is all fair trade.
Do not listen to what Adam Levitan said about caffeine and coffee, specifically on Monday's Best Ball Breakfast.
Our lawyers are crazy.
We are currently drawing up a lawsuit.
We're suing him for slander, for libel, for whatever accounts for what he did, trying to jeopardize our coffee sponsorship on Monday.
We won't stand for that.
Look at who it is.
Mr. Rotopat, welcome to Best Ball Breakfast, sir.
How are you doing?
Very good.
Having my second cup of coffee.
I've been sitting here for a few minutes.
I've been waiting for the link, and that's because you sent it to me yesterday.
And that's why I was waiting for it this morning, is that I would have been waiting a long time.
I texted you, but you were, quote, on the air, so you didn't see it.
Did you text me?
Oh, you're right.
Okay, here it is, guys.
I'm going to, this is how the sausage gets made.
1128.
He says, ready for the link.
And I do have to message how he spelled it.
T-H-A-L-Y-N-K.
With the number four.
It's an homage.
You know, to 90s rapper album titles.
Then he hit me with a JK.
I have it.
Good talk here.
That's a really good talk.
We learned a lot.
The, uh, Pat and I were both in Vegas a couple weekends ago for this Draft Nation, you know, fantasy football draft event.
And it was on the last day, or maybe it was one of the days, whatever.
And Rotopat's like, yeah, if you ever need another guest for a stream, you know, I always have fun on the show.
And you're like, I'm really.
You're like, I, what did you have, four guest spots you had already booked?
Four in one day, last Wednesday.
Four in one day.
And so I was like, all right, I'll hold you to that.
I'll make you smoke the entire pack of cigarette guest spots and here you are.
They're quite delicious, I must say.
And I think they're good for you.
I think they're good for you.
I think there's some bad, faulty science on podcast guest spots.
And this is my, this sounds like ridiculous, stupid bragging or complaining or what.
I don't know.
This is my eighth, quote unquote, outside podcast the past two weeks.
Wow.
I mean, do you literally have a sticky note where you are?
Yeah, I actually, I probably should.
I'm one of the last holdouts.
I don't have any sort of like digital calendar or outlook sync or anything.
And I'm just constantly like, you know what?
That sounds familiar.
I think I got something.
Wait, are you like Levitan?
Because Levitan famously has his printed out calendar, like a desk calendar.
And he, you know, writes by.
My hand, you don't do anything printed out in my mind.
Yeah.
So you're saying like when I booked you for this show, when I said, Hey, here's the link
for tomorrow.
Was that when you were like, Oh shit, I agreed to this.
Or do you have a beautiful mind that you remember this?
I usually half remember them, but you're in the central time zone.
Very few things in the central time zone.
I'm constantly going like, was that 1130 Eastern or 1130 Central?
And I rechecking the texts constantly, which it would definitely just be much better to
have some sort of outlook.
And reminding me, but so I probably checked, I searched over Zet in my iMessage search a
few times, found our most recent texts and then kept confirming that it was 1130 AM Eastern
on Wednesday.
Incredible.
Well, I'm glad that this, you know, remained locked and loaded in your mental Rolodex.
Shout out here real quick to our winner of our second coffee giveaway, James Bateman
836.
You just won a free coffee.
Free 12 ounce bag of Vassaleros and Sons coffee.
Please shoot me a message.
I love how you said, wow.
That's pretty, honestly, that's a pretty good listener prize.
It's like, instead of like, you know, a free year of testosterone or like a month of meal
prep or whatever, just like, Oh, a coffee.
I drink coffee.
Something like practical, right?
It's like when, you know, maybe I should start doing giveaways for like socks, pairs of underwear,
just stuff people actually need.
You know, we were once we were kind of.
I'm part of the whiz kids in the fantasy industry.
We're getting a little older now, though.
We all have children.
Our audiences are probably getting a little older, maybe a little more practical.
Wool socks might not be the worst idea.
What is it?
What was this whiz kid era you speak of here?
Well, yeah, I was I was used to always being like the youngest guy at NBC.
I think 24 when I started.
I'm not going to say how old I am now.
Yeah, I was.
I was used to being the youngest guy for like basically almost a decade.
Then one day I was like, oh, I'm not going to be the youngest guy.
I'm not going to be the youngest guy.
Oh, wow.
Not even close to the youngest guy anymore.
Kyle.
Kyle Dvorak was born in 2016 and he's been working for us for eight years.
He's been working for us for eight years.
I'm not sorry.
OK.
For a second.
I know.
I know.
Sorry.
I know.
This is how conditioned I am to these kids being so young that I literally started doing
math and almost vaguely bought that.
Oh, my God.
I know.
I'm sorry.
You scared the shit out of me.
It was too plausible.
It was way too plausible.
I think in my mind it was 2006 that you said.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think I could tell.
That's what I don't.
Don't tell OSHA that we have an employee born in 2016.
Yeah.
How do you get all those blurbs out?
Child labor.
That's right.
We're bringing that child labor back along with many other things in this country.
Yeah, exactly.
OK, Pat, we're going to draft a best ball mania team.
I know you love this more than anything else.
Best ball is your favorite format on life.
You have a giant portfolio.
You have takes on every single player on the board and you're an eternal optimist that
thinks every single player on the board is a good player.
Every player is going to hit that high ceiling outcome.
Do I have kind of the road bad experience?
I think you laid it out pretty well there.
Yeah.
Hey, my portfolio is big this year.
I think I have like seven entries in the BBM.
OK, I'm glad.
I'm glad Casey reminded me of this because last night on ADP Chasing, the crew was talking
and your name came up a couple of times in Mike Shope was saying that he wanted to do
a tennis podcast with you.
He said you're like the biggest tennis podcast.
Or tennis podcast fan, the biggest tennis fan.
Did I miss this about you?
Are you a big tennis guy?
I'm a big tennis guy, but here's what happens.
There are a lot of big tennis guys and when they discover someone else they think is a
tennis guy because there's so few of them, they go nuts.
Like Pat knows about tennis.
Like he's a huge tennis guy where Mike definitely knows more than I do, by the way.
I follow tennis closely, but Mike is like grinding tennis.
Greg Rosenthal grinds tennis.
And whenever they're so excited.
When they think there's a new tennis guy and I'm not a new tennis guy, I'm a longtime tennis guy.
I love it.
I follow it, but not like those guys.
OK, so what you're saying is Mike Shope, fuck off.
I will not be doing a podcast with you.
No, we we could.
The problem is I would get Shope mogged very easily.
I'm sorry.
I've never heard of this 18 year old Brazilian.
I know Jow from Fonseca.
How do you say he's not 18 anymore?
I might have heard of that guy.
But well, Dan has a real gotcha moment.
He goes interesting.
How is he doing this guest spot?
I know.
He's gone.
Yeah, I know.
See, Shope probably never turns it off.
He's had the open eye and now it just goes all night.
So he watches it 24 hours a day.
How do you know you got Roto pad on?
You get this 12 man PPR redraft point five.
I didn't preview of starters.
Goff, Henry, Monty, Puka, Sam, McBride, Kraft, Goddard, Betts, Stevenson, Brooks, Johnson, Casey, Kyler, Schultz.
Do I trade Henry and McBride for Gibbs?
Alex, I'm going to need you to condense that.
Pete, Pete is suffocated live on air reading your question.
Oh, all right.
We're about on the clock.
We're about on the clock here.
CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Barkley, Kenneth Walker.
Who brings you joy with this?
You're always a stickler and you always like make the guest pick, don't you?
I do.
Jefferson goes.
You're looking at Lamb or a running back here.
I wanted Jefferson.
God, all these running backs are horrific.
CeeDee Lamb or Kenneth Walker.
I let you choose.
I like it because there's this thing.
We'll be in.
We'll be in drafts like, I don't know, late sixth round or Chad was just talking early
eighth and we'll be like, this is a gross range of the draft.
We are.
Haven't made our first selection yet.
That's like, wow.
Back in a round one's a real gross portion of the draft.
I'm not really beating the allegations of not liking any players.
So and also Lamb, the far better click, seeing as we were going to have a running back fall
to us for sure.
All right.
So we're back on the clock here.
Chase Brown, Omarion Hampton.
I know Crane hates Chase.
I would prefer Chase.
I hate Omarion, but I let you decide.
No, I want to do this too, because I need to get in the mood today.
We are doing on ship chasing.
doing an FF
main event draft all of us are going to be in the same room which normally we're all drafting
collectively i'm very very not so secret fomo about this by the way like i saw you by draft
i saw you yeah i saw you guys doing the ffpc i was like holy shit this is one of the best
stream ideas i've ever seen and chase brown is someone that i have circled on my board because
pat hates chase brown you just alluded to and i want to spike click the shit out of him in a
$2,000 draft and so this was kind of like the warm-up to get the spite flowing he's gonna say
you're getting some reps in for clicking uh you know 2k i just very easily draft chase brown it's
pretty simple to 2k of my family's funds you know i have a young child doesn't matter chase brown
coming to the squad and then in pat's also been he's been posting like his his spotify uh little
cryptic thing about these guys putting up a silent killer season just these little dags to the players
we like it's really passive-aggressive on his
it is
it is and um pat's always wrong thankfully i'm always right so and uh i i think this is me the
year i win the bbm by the way because again i have a lot more entries than usual like i said i'm up
to seven i think okay i think i mean that's got to be more than crane right and you right you know
you've done seven live on television in the past 24 hours right no no and i you know what i'm a
person in your mentions and they go if i had seven lineups i could have won two
if i could afford seven entries in the bbm then maybe i'd be winning
how are all of those seven entries were they done for roto world i think basically all of them were
live no there were a few this is not a joke um i was going to the king's classic in canton ohio
late july and i hadn't done like any drafts of any kind the entire month i was like i gotta
get some warm-ups in some of the drafts i was like i gotta get some warm-ups in some of the
actual chase brown reps i did a few i did i think three in two days which is a lot for me
and i it was hypnotic like it is like really i could see how you guys very easily fall into the
life because it is a lot of fun i like all of the gymnastics you did not to say addicted i
appreciate that our sponsors appreciate that he goes fall into the life yeah i used about eight
infamous there now i think about it i'll take creative ways to say addicted for
wow pretty good point so let's take a sip of our coffee yeah yeah yep i need some of that free
coffee by the way the way you hold your mug it looks like there's tea in it but i assume it's
yeah i know why do i do that is on you know on camera you gotta take pretty uh you gotta take
cautious sips i do need to start doing that you ever have uh every once in a while do you think
am i holding my beer weird
people people think i'm holding this beer weird i get that fear sometimes
you know uh i think i have you know a lot of internal monologues in my head i don't know if
that's one of them i'm not even kidding i've had am i holding this beer weird internal monologues
all right we're about to pick at the three four turn we have chase brown and cd lamb do you want
a bangles max with t higgins we got a bunch of the wide receivers here at bucca waddle garrett
wilson achan if you want another running back who looks good to you i love a bucca this year i want
a bangles max here i like t for the first time ever i've been drafting t higgins this year i think
without exaggerating it's the first year i've been in on t just the first year like the adp
kind of alternates being too high or too low uh it's just right speaking of t the temperature
of this t is just right there you go well played look at that a professional host there i all i
want to say fuck omg for this comment you blink at an awkward rate i know you're kidding but now i'm
thinking about blinking i know yeah that's the worst pissed off bro come on everyone who appears
alive on air will go through some blinking obsession at some point i'm not kidding i have
gone through a blinking obsession like wow today also i don't know if he was referring to me or you
i do have something in my eye uh i think we should a bucca max unless you want to alan max so here's
the thing i am i'm very light on a bucca you can see 2.9 here i'm worried about this turf toe but
the fact that roto pat
the biggest hater on fantasy football earth likes igbuka makes me want to click him anymore he joins
the squad tell me why this turf toe isn't an issue well i think it's just a classic we're talking
about a lot because it's the summer and there's nothing else to talk about where it's not like
during the season we like when players are playing through toe injuries we know they're the kind of
thing that linger that can cause problem problems for months but pretty common to be playing through
a toe injury it was the right time of year to have a toe injury because in season they never ever keep
them off their feet i think they probably actually did keep them off his feet for most of august you
know todd bowles has been trying to confuse the issue on this but i think abuka let the cat out
of the bag a few weeks three weeks ago he's basically yeah i'm playing week one and then
todd bowles like several times that we don't know he was trying he was too honest abuka early on i
think bowles tried to confuse the issue but abuka i think was too honest early on i don't think he's
very worried about it it is is todd bowles you know we have we have our coach speak indexes we
have all of this tracking now and we're not going to be able to do that because we're not going to
is anyone more it's maybe not even that he's unreliable it's that the way he talks about
timelines and his understanding of how time passes in units of time is so distorted this man is
incapable of narrowing it down he's like yeah he's day-to-day week-to-week or month-to-month
like that's like literally what he said about abuka it's like well which one is it because
those are different things todd i think he's trying to do the bill belichick you know they
like bill you ever been on facebook or whatever like i've never i don't do face smash or what
i think that's what todd bowles is kind of going for like i don't i don't worry about stuff on the
computer i don't worry about what the i'm not a doctor that's up to the trainers i think he's
trying to pull off that shtick and it just doesn't work very well because people are tired of the
bucks uh losing and being annoying uh i need to let alex know he tried to shorten his question
i'm not answering this for less than nine dollars and 99 cents i'll answer it for him if alex is a
loyal viewer i did this is the first time i've ever seen him he's just trying to come in here
and just leech fantasy knowledge from my desk he's you know he's probably pretty desperate
we're getting close to the season starting he's finding any possible live stream he's on the bbm
live stream and he's asking like a very redraft coded question and he's got to be pretty desperate
i will give him i will give him that hey you know we're we're all desperate in our own
very unique ways but we are not right we are not desperate for a good team
because we have cd lamb chase brown t higgins and yes a mecca igbuka if you have to be honest
this team sucks it's not good and it's because of lamb lamb talk about not even good like we
got a not even good hall of famer on our team with our first round pick goes out saying chase
brown has never been good wow wow you know fire me up pat fire me up uh you know i'm sick of
drafting with all these optimists i need someone who tells me the truth which is every pick we may
make is absolute dog shit you will never make a good pick and that's fine that's actually the
first step to make to maybe accidentally making a good pick is knowing that they're all bad
uh speaking of babbit picks and seeing him here i mean is trevion henderson has anyone had a worse
off season than trevion henderson who is now missing practices also dj more if you want to
scoop the dipperino who do you like here man so it's trevion or dj more no remandre oh god do dj
more my god yeah sorry i thought you were who's missing practice trevion trevion is yeah it's now
missing practice it's been it's been a season from hell for him but it has which means it'll
be a good season um i'm all in on trevion i think we should do trevion i'm not even kidding
okay or i would do tyler warren i would do tyler warren and then he goes
yes i would do trevion i to my stock line on trevion is that the risk is very real but i think
he's the player i think tootin drafters gone they're taking oh my god i'm gonna make you
take remandre steven i just do it it's fine he's gonna easily outscore him it doesn't matter
nothing matters i'm sorry that you got wound up for two takes you're like tyler warren gone and
then you're like okay
gone and then i left you with no other options but to take remandre steven trevion is the real
tootin is what it was boiling down to he is the actual root in tootin rb2 i will agree here charlie
i wouldn't have pegged you as a trevion over remandre guy like well you would say trevion
is the worst pick on the board that's kind of what i would expect from you i'm skittish more about
injury than a lot of things i'm obviously a hater but this i'm big play coded i've always been a
play guy i'm like
one more one more big play fixes all the problems in my life like is the trade i can just get that
72 yard touchdown everything's back to normal i for some reason i've always been like a big play
guy i'm explosive play guy i fall for those guys over and over and over and over again and trevion
i just don't think the rookie year it was a lot better than people realize it somehow we came out
of his rookie year like the narrative is that it was bad because he got mothballed for the playoffs
that was very bad
But he was pretty good most of the year.
They made a philosophical decision.
in the postseason that they were parking the bus,
that the whole deal was just avoiding turnovers, avoiding negative plays,
trying to muddle through to the Super Bowl.
It somehow almost worked.
I think that was like a short-term philosophical shift.
Most signs to me are that they're opening up the offense this year.
He made the big plays as a rookie.
He did score touchdowns as a rookie.
I know he's supposedly bad at the little things.
But Ramondre Stevenson is maybe the most famous fumbler in the NFL right now.
Can you say something nice about our pick we just made?
I keep forgetting who Stevenson is.
I do want to corroborate something you said about always being the big play,
the explosive guy.
In this industry, we talk about people in hushed tones behind their back,
and every conversation I have with people, it's like I'm talking with Denny
and it's like, Roto-Patty's always been the big play, explosive guy.
Can't ever just take a guy who's going to get you four yards and a cloud of dust.
Always has to be the big play, explosive guy.
And so I just let you know that we've been talking about town,
about your preferences for years and years, and everyone knows you.
Whispers around town of what the kind of person I really am.
That's a shame.
But I got to move.
I've got to move to Ohio.
I guess the other question we could have had if we were truly Bengals maxing,
if we had the stomach.
To pull up Joe Burrow to 62, he obviously goes to the chase drafter here.
Would you have preferred Burrow to Ramondre if we had more time to discuss it?
I would have.
I don't know what we were talking about,
so we never even got the opportunity to look into that.
How much you love explosive plays.
So, yeah, that also further ruined the team.
So, yeah, I don't really see a whole lot of stacking possibilities here.
You don't?
Dak?
Baker?
Okay.
That's true.
Dak, of course.
Is it Dak time?
Yeah.
Is he going to make it to us?
It could be.
Where's the Pickens drafter?
Pickens drafter behind us took Burrow, so guess what?
You can have your Burrow.
Maybe we have our Dak here.
What's your Dak portfolio like this year?
What is?
Thanks for asking.
So many people don't ask me how much Dak I have.
7.8%.
Seems kind of high.
I'm a higher end.
8.3 would be about average, so it's actually pretty low.
I couldn't remember if it was 7 or 8, though, with average.
Speaking of whispering it around town and looking into people's –
Proclivities?
I can't even say that word.
I know all about you, your guys' best ball stuff and the 8% thing.
I thought it was 7%, but I know about it.
I know all about it.
I know people always – they're really impressed, and they're like,
how do you do that?
And I said, well, I took out a calculator, and I divided 1 by 12.
That would do it.
All right.
Dak Prescott, you want to get your quarterback?
Yeah, screw it.
Yep, Dak.
Screw it.
I will say, I have so much Herbert, and even though I'm like –
Herbert's one of the best guys I've ever met.
I love him.
He's one of the players I feel like I'm most famous for being a hater on.
I have a lot of Herbert this year.
Okay.
Yeah, I mean, that's the second thing.
I'm like, this guy loves explosive plays, except Justin Herbert's explosive plays.
He doesn't like those ones.
Well, it's because I loved them so many times in the past,
and they did not love me back.
They did not love me back those years.
Herbert does go.
Let's look at running back, wide receiver.
You got Jordan Addison, Cortland Sutton, Sam Laporta, Michael Wilson,
R.J. Harvey, Alec Pierce.
Who do you like here?
Is it two?
I'm going to go early for another receiver,
because I've been taking a lot of Jordan Addison.
Let's do it.
I love Addison.
Speaking of big play guys, speaking of a touchdown score,
am I worried about the fit with Kyler Murray?
Absolutely.
I don't know if Kyler Murray even throws that kind of ball anymore.
But what Addison's done with very shaky quarterback play,
he's kind of – he's one of those guys where I feel like he should be an alibi guy.
Like the reason Jordan Addison has literally never produced his X, Y,
Z.
He actually has produced in a lot of really unfortunate circumstances
where things can just get even vaguely normal.
I have pretty high Jordan Addison expectations this year, famous last words.
I just want to say I am enjoying this,
but I do feel like you think you're required to monologue about every player
we just drafted.
I just want you to know this is a little more casual than that.
You can let your hair down.
You can kind of shit post.
You can just be like, fuck it, Jordan Addison, what's next?
I don't have to explain myself in Jordan Addison.
Look, I know you are used to being tethered to kind of the peacock code of conduct,
but around here, brother, anything flies.
Anything goes.
All right.
No, I've been spooked about Jordan Addison as well.
I did Best Ball After Dark with Sean Siegel on Saturday night,
and he's still all in on Addison.
And it is kind of just like this take the blind leap of faith jump of like,
Addison's really good.
Let's just trust it all works itself.
That's kind of how it feels like with Addison.
I am betting on talent doing that with a lot of guys this year,
most notably Devin Achan.
That's your guy?
That is probably the guy I have the most is Devin Achan.
Across seven drafts.
That's right.
No, this is we're taking it next level with managed league Achan.
All right.
We are managing leads, leagues with Devin Achan.
I might have asked you this in Vegas, but what's the league you care about the most?
What's your managed league?
It's tonight, actually.
And it's a distance scoring league.
If you're maybe wondering where the big play obsession.
Oh, okay.
The distance scoring league.
It was one of those boomer leagues where they started it before,
before the computer existed.
So they used to do it by hand.
So the rules are so outside the bounds of what is considered normal and fancy football.
You get zero points for yards unless they get to a hundred.
This is not a joke.
You get 99 yards.
This is zero.
99.
Yards is zero.
You get zero points for it.
This is not a joke for catches unless it's eight.
So seven catches for 99 yards.
It's like the most infamous stat line you can have in this league.
Cause it's a big fat zero.
You get a zero unless you get a touchdown mixed in there.
So it's like, yeah.
Benchmark Pittman is like undraftable here.
Well, no, he gets eight catches.
So you're going to get some tens from Michael Pittman.
You will get some tens from Michael Pittman.
He's not undraftable, but he's like a wide receiver four or five.
Who goes earlier?
Uh, Pittman or Rashid Shaheed in that format.
Wow.
Probably Shaheed.
Uh, cause it's like, dude, if he scores a 57 yard touchdown, we win the week.
We win the week.
You, you take a lot of zeros in this league.
Cause you got to keep the faith with the distance scores.
And it's a very common motif in this league is someone gives you like four straight zeros.
You finally bench them.
And then they score a 72 yard touchdown.
Incredible.
Um, I think we're good at wide receiver for now.
Um, I'm going to look at running back.
I'm going to look at running back in tight end.
Uh, George Kittle is here who famously is headed to Australia.
Kenny Gainwell, Menungai, Rashad White.
Um, who do you like?
I actually like the top three players in the queue.
Um, you can pick, I like all three of them.
Um, let's get our first tight end.
I mean, I, I need more Kittle.
I only have 11.8%.
Can you imagine?
No, I can't imagine that.
Actually.
I'm a lifelong Kittle drafter myself.
Oh, you said you missed your pick, but thankfully he was in the queue.
So don't worry.
Don't I'm a professional.
I know you are.
I've actually never seen you.
Time out into a non-queued player.
So I appreciate that.
Well, you just clearly don't watch me draft that much.
So I, even I have never timed out into a non-queued player.
I believe in a live stream.
New, new bit.
I, I, oh, hang on.
We're back on the clock.
So I think the decision here is, do you lock up Kyler?
He's not going to come back.
You do Kyler with Addison or you grab Kenny Gainwell because we're pretty thin at running
back.
Do, do gain.
Well, I would do gain.
Well, we have, we have a Buka too.
We're going to do a little box maxing as well.
As horrible as that was, um, we had to do get Kenneth Gainwell there.
Kyler.
He didn't.
Wow.
Talk about not coming back to us.
Yes.
The Justin Jefferson drafter could not wait.
So we have the one quarterback.
We don't have any obvious backstacking options.
Now I guess other than Mayfield, but Mayfield at 131, that could go either way, but we're
going to be fine.
You strike me as a guy who loves to panic click Aaron Rogers.
When you get boxed out.
Truly.
I would rather be dead.
I, at that point, like Mendoza, get Mendoza, lock up Naylor, maybe trade Tucker with our
final three picks.
Maybe no take Tucker might not even fall that far.
Michael Mayer, Mendoza, Jalen Naylor, final three picks.
That's what we do instead of taking Aaron Rogers.
Well, I'm glad you mentioned that because when we do get on the clock, I'm going to
put Aaron Rogers in the queue and then I'm going to let you know a little secret check
under your chair because I placed a gun there.
Okay.
Wow.
Now you get to decide.
Yeah, nevermind.
If you'd rather have Aaron Rogers.
I got to at least make it to my draft tonight.
All right.
I can't die before my draft.
You're right.
Uh, yeah, now I'm getting a little dark.
You can tell it's getting late in the summer.
How about this for a big play fellas?
Oh my God.
Sorry.
It's late in the draft.
It's gotten a little late in the summer.
I'm sorry.
Uh, let's try to get this back on track with typical YouTube fodder.
533 people watching and only 100 likes.
Don't grab that gun.
Hit the like button instead.
Good God, Peter.
I think this must be like your thousandth stream this summer.
It's been too much, brother.
We got big thousandth stream energy here, which is frankly very good energy.
I don't know if you saw right before I had, uh, I had Chad Candles, a beloved, uh, member
from our best ball community.
He hosted for me while I wasn't here because I wanted to go pick my daughter up from her
first day of preschool.
And basically that's a long con for when I accidentally cancel myself on this stream.
I'm just going to inherit the entire channel to Chad Candles and I can just be done with
all of it.
this that's right all this all this pain goes away and you go back to civilian life and someone
else can finally see how hard it is to make a living as a streamer this life this life found
me and i found a way out you're the rare one who found a way out yeah all right here we go quick
recap dak prescott chase brown remandre stevenson kenny gainwell at running back cd lamb t higgins
at mecca bucca dj moore jordan addison george kittle at tight end we did lose baker mayfield
um we can figure out quarterback later or if you are a malik willis guy i am actually i hate to
admit it but well i think we should probably figure it out we should figure it out later
i think you think i think so i think we should figure it out later so the running back range
we're in here is like algier jonah coleman mike washington tank bigsby we have kelsey goddard
ferguson we could do
tyler shuck and set up a backdoor stack there coleman or kelsey or shuck um coleman kelsey
or shuck let's do another running back just because i do think we're still a little light
there let's grab coleman here let's grab him um now is coleman a dreaded zero waiting to happen
in best ball because i've been instructed on especially late in the season you can't be
taking those zeros i guess with coleman the zero odds are hopefully higher at the beginning it's a
it's a fancy zero though and that changes it is i i
against typing and i love fancy zeros yes listen i was a jaden blue drafter again um despite being
on the record that he was never ever ever good and then he ruined my college fantasy team
uh i do think we should take a quarterback here do you want to take shuck or willis do shuck
because i guess the stat well i don't know there's no one to stack with shuck at this
point either though well joan johnson we could have done back to back but
we can do they lay late do you want to do willis who brings you more joy willis but it's too late
oh i thought i had oh i thought you had it too oh my goodness well the team is officially ruined but
well we took the better guy on the better team whose entire offense isn't going to collapse by
week six as they tank for the number one overall pick next year sucks for us when you put it that
way i am shocked that you are in on hn you're in on the dolphins again if there's an easier
grave to dance on and earmuffs for chad candles my previous guest who's going to be on the Dolphins
who loves the Miami Dolphins as well i would have just assumed you would have been dancing all over
that grave well a chance is too good two special seasons and three tries and my spiel on the
Dolphins is that we we aren't very good this is going to be the most damning of faint praise
anyone's ever heard we aren't very good at predicting historically bad offenses
every time we think something's going to be historically bad it just turns out to be normal
bad true historically bad offenses like the 2025 Raiders kind of hit like a comet you can't really
see them coming i think we've devoted so much mental energy to the Dolphins they're just going
to be a guaranteed train wreck blah blah blah that we're going to be like disappointed when they're
just normal bad i think they're just going to be normal bad and then they have no choice like game
script's not going to matter they're going to have to be running the ball giving the ball to
devon hn and i don't think they're going to ever get off hn this year yep so i like so where does
the the uh trickle down dolphinomics does it lead you to any of the rookie wide receivers are you a
what do you do with that take i unfortunately have been becoming a dulcich guy i was a caleb
douglas guy in dynasty i have him i don't think i have any redraft or best ball shares though
i wanted to be a malik washington guy this seemed like nothing ever really developed there so like
i don't know if i've heard his name this off season like since like march so i didn't really
get on that um the the receivers too excuse me with three
of them i just like never knew which dark to throw is kind of what it came down to so i just
didn't throw any i just left the bar and went home as you learned in vegas like i just i turn in early
um you guys hit the tables and i uh hit i hit the grilled chicken at chick-fil-a and went to bed i
literally did the vegas uh bro equivalent of a booty call to roto pat it was like 1 a.m and i'm
walking back like hammered and i literally just said roto pat a text that says you up
you did it
i laughed rather hard the next morning you're like no sir i was not up i i this is a bit of a
a lie i was awake but i was going to sleep that was very smart because if i would have seen
roto pat is typing i would have had your ass i did not let you see the thought bubble i did
not let you see the the typing bubble i knew that uh do you like ryan flournoy with uh
uh dac do you want to get another running back a tank bigsby
perhaps uh what do you hit the flanoy hit the flanoy okay let's do the flanoy all right we'll
get him here we'll get him stacked up right you did it just in time just in time um do you think
we're good with dac and shuck we do have a falling uh cj stroud here we could do him as a third
quarterback i think we should hit the third quarterback yeah how uncommon how many what
percent of your teams have three quarterbacks glad you asked um
i'm gonna pause the draft and i'm gonna count them all all right please do simple math assumed
you had a spreadsheet i would say my guess would be 59.4 percent um you want to get cj stroud here
i do this is good value strikes me as an enormous bargain in this portion of the draft this is this
is where i ask the question has the cj stroud hate gone too far it has and i mean which of our
friends i know there are people out there running models saying they're like a positive regression
candidate in the passing game whatever that means
yeah i don't know that's not real positive regression is not real by the way it's only
regression yes look it up but uh i've ignored all that and i haven't taken cj stroud literally
anywhere but until now so look that's what they it's uh pumping and dumping the uh the hate you
know that's right has the hate gone too far i was kind of the one leading the chart yeah we're all
trying to find the person who created the negative perception around this player or every player
recap this team we do famously have three quarterbacks which means i now have 61.2 percent
of my teams at three quarterbacks uh we started with cd lamb we went chase brown rotopat hated
every minute of it he did seem to like the t higgins igbuka picks uh was pretty indifferent
on dj moore absolutely loathed the remandre stevenson selection would rather have had
joe burrow we did get dak prescott back uh don't think that really made rotopat feel anything he
seemed vaguely excited about jordan addison mainly because he would be a good pick in the draft he's
not necessarily painfully accurate we took george kittle because i gotta remember into it
yeah make a note of that uh george kittle because he's now going on the flight to australia which
means you can draft him now that was huge game well because we're like oh shit we only have two
running backs maybe we should address it uh jonah coleman because if we're going to take a zero
we're going to do it with flair god damn it naked tyler shuck because we really wanted to take malik
i was just reminding rotopat sometimes it's good to double stack in this format and finally cj
stroud because say it with me at home folks the hate has gone too damn far many are saying
how do you feel about the squad there goes nailer the mendoza plan is out the window so it's a good
thing we weren't counting on that um i do feel good about it be a thing this year i mean it
doesn't seem like it who nailer or mendoza yeah nailer nailer kind of the jordan addison principle
anytime he played he's like that's kind of weird jalen nailer scored another touchdown i'm just
gonna pretend that didn't happen inconvenient data point for myself and just move on i hate that
you're lumping in jordan addison with jalen nailer now now i'm actually disgusted just completely
different caliber of players do not put that on jordan addison i did just totally undermine the
take um i mean this principle always fails in fantasy football like someone's got to catch the
ball a lot of times it turns out no one does but i feel like jalen nailer is pretty great
manifestation of someone's got to catch the ball he has actually produced in the nfl if you had to
have you know kind of the starter kit for a fantasy analyst you'd have to have positive regression in
there and then vacated targets you gotta hit them with the vacated targets i feel like we've heard
less about vacated targets the past few years even though it's a very good concept pat should
we bring it back we should actually i'll text john daigle and ask if i'm allowed to have vacated
there you go um all right let's see here uh i think we should like we should just lock up valet
i mean if we can't have naked shuck right should we just no yeah that's actually is a matter of
like that's just basic human dignity yeah you can't have naked tyler shuck
okay we are down to just running backs and tight ends for these next three picks we have four
running backs chase brown remandre kenny gainwell jonah coleman tight end we're in the hawkinson
range running backs get malik man why did we not get malik do you want malik davis no i'm saying i
wanted dulcich with malik willis i know and now i want you to focus on a different malik because i
think the other malik actually makes sense on this team where we have the cowboys and we need
running backs pat he does he does because the giovante williams thing you want to talk about
something is not happening again it's the giovante williams thing um so malik davis however old you
had two years is the problem with malik davis i would say not a young guy um we're about to find
out
This man was born only 11 years after me, which means he is old as shit.
He was born 17 years before Kyle Dvorak.
I was going to say this man could be Kyle Dvorak's father.
He could.
Yes, he is, actually.
You were supposed to mention that.
So we got the three quarterbacks.
We're up to five running backs.
We got our seven wide receivers.
We only have one tight end.
His name is George Kittle.
How scared does this make you feel?
Relatively, relatively, I would say, because it's not a great year for late tight end stabs.
Is Sadiq still out there?
Is he gone?
He went, unfortunately.
Here's the thing.
What if I told you you could have your choice of any of the 14 Chargers tight ends?
Would that get you excited?
It would.
I feel like we've got to begin the Aranda-Gadston counter-revolution, don't we?
Like, come on.
Take down big side.
Kick in there, Charlie Kolar.
Take down big side.
Kick the Kohler.
Oh, my God.
30 career receptions.
What is Aranda-Gadston ever going to do except for easily double that this year?
He's not going to catch 60 balls.
That's been the theme today.
I had Alex Cupps on first.
He was saying, he said, Pete, the hate on Aranda-Gadston.
He said, stay it with me at home.
Has gone too far.
So maybe we do it.
Maybe we stick it to the Kohler vortex, the Kohler Bears.
That's right.
Within the Aranda-Gadston selection.
But who else is available?
Let's just, just for due diligence sake, let's see who else is available.
Yeah, let's take a look here.
So we are looking at, by ADP, Pat Fryermuth, the man who will not be named.
Gunnar Helm, another man who won't be named.
Darren Waller, another Charger tight end who will not be named.
I wasn't lying when I said they'd all be available.
Colby Parkinson, Evan Ingram, Michael Mayer, Mike Gesicki, Eli Rairdon.
That's what we're working with here, Pat.
Boy.
I'm starting, starting to feel, I wish we could have paired Rodgers and Fryermuth.
Fryermuth.
That's a path not taken.
Well, you decided you'd rather not exist anymore.
I know.
Path not taken.
That's all right.
Sliding doors moment there.
We've got to take Gadsden.
But he produced as a rookie, like somewhat rather easily.
Like Harbaugh, I think it's going to be a classic situation.
Jim Harbaugh is like trying to create an alternate reality where he doesn't,
doesn't have to play around a Gadsden and it's like, soon as the season begins,
like, well, obviously we have to play around a Gadsden.
These other guys are terrible.
Also to all of the haters, the Gadsden haters, the faders.
I want to point you in the direction of this comment by Travis White, who not
only says he's a fine pick, he says he will feed families this year.
This man is going to turn water into wine.
He is going to manifest loaves of bread for the people of Galilee.
That is what Gadsden.
A Ronda Gadsden is a bountiful wheat harvest is what we're hearing more and more.
He is, uh, he's like Jesus meets David Blaine when it comes to food for families.
Now we are talking, by the way, we got sniped on tank Dell, uh, can't pair tank Dell.
I can't say I understand that pick, going to be honest with you.
Uh, considering he's not going to play this year.
Uh, okay, look, this is what I'm doing here.
Uh, I'm first putting Gadsden in the queue, this is where we really kind of gauge our
convictions on this pick because on the one hand, adding Jalen Knoll as our CJ Stroud stack
sounds very fun to me.
I love Jalen Knoll.
However, it's probably the more prudent thing to add a third tight end.
I want to know, how do you think we play this spot?
Oh God, it has to be a third tight end.
Even though Jalen Knoll would make so much sense.
Like we are, we are not living right at tight end.
We are not right with that.
Pick one.
Kolar, Waller, Njoku, Parkinson, Ingram, Mayer.
Do we protect ourselves in double charger?
Even protecting ourselves though.
We do it.
Let's do it.
Kolar and Gadsden.
Because you know what?
Let them fight it out.
Do we need a, this country is already divided enough, Pat.
Do we really need the Gadsden and Kolar wars to separate our community or can we reach
across the aisle and say there's good people on both sides, Pat?
We just did.
We, we went to one county and built a data center and we went to another county and burned
one down.
And that's a little something for everybody.
We've reunited the people.
So.
Let me tell you this.
A lot of people say it's one or the other Kolar or Gadsden.
We say that gift with the little girl.
Why not both?
How many teams do you think have drafted both Gadsden and Kolar?
There's not because too many people in this community are ideological drafters.
It's pure tribalism.
You're not making a selection.
You're waving the flag for your team.
Everything's a lifestyle choice now.
It's gone just beyond winning fantasy football.
It's all virtue signaling, I guess.
They're like lifestyle signaling or it's not about the game anymore.
It's we've turned into something bigger and it was never meant to be something bigger.
Selecting Charlie Kolar is a lot like putting a Kamala Harris sign in your front yard.
It really has nothing to do with the selection.
Some of these picks.
So who is stopping?
Scroll down.
Who's stopping this team?
Who is stopping the team with Ryan Flanoy, Devon Vallee, Aranda Gadsden and Charlie Kolar?
Who is stopping this team?
11 other teams in our pocket.
This has got to be one of the worst ones you've drafted.
I noticed you didn't even have to bother with it.
If this wins, we'll split the winnings.
No, that's boilerplate.
We just reserve for teams that need it.
I know that legalese did not need to be attached to this draft.
Let's be positive.
Let's pretend.
Let's go fast forward into the future.
It's whatever.
Second week of January.
It's week 17.
It's 1:30 AM Eastern on Monday night.
The last game is being played.
I text Roto Pat, "You up?"
You don't respond.
The follow-up text, "We just won Best Ball Mania."
You wake up in the morning.
You go, "Sweet."
And I write again, "But I never said that we're split."
You didn't.
That's legally binding.
And then I say, "Look under your chair."
Oh, no, and it's a bag of money.
It's a briefcase of money.
That's what it is.
All right.
I would be a poor streamer if I didn't recap this team, and then we're going to welcome
Eric Feinfohr on here.
Dak Prescott, Tyler Shuck, CJ Stroud, Chase Brown, Ramondre Stevenson, Danny Gainwell,
Jonah Coleman, Malik Davis, CeeDee Lamb, Tee Higgins, Emeka Igbuka, DJ Moore, Jordan
Addison, Ryan Flournoy, Devon Bailey, George Kittle, Aranda Gadsden, and Charlie Kolar.
How did we do, Pat?
The tight end and quarterbacks leave the team lacking a little bit, I'll say.
And even the running back room is not amazing.
Yeah.
That's true.
But the receivers are going to carry this team.
CJ Stroud is a very important player for this team, like very, very important.
Kenneth Gainwell, he doesn't have to catch 70 passes.
He needs to catch at least 50, and we need Jonah Coleman.
We need one thing Sean Payton said to be true for once, and that he really likes Jonah Coleman.
Then maybe things are looking up for this team.
I'm truly not kidding when I say this.
Normally it's like teams have strengths and weaknesses.
This is like the first team I've ever looked at where every position has an issue.
Every position is somewhat weak.
Even receiver.
I don't love Lamb.
Just got to be honest, didn't love our wide receiver one.
Pretty unusual to not like the wide receiver one also.
Normally you look at a team like this and you're scrolling down and you're like, "Oh,
well it's because you have Brock Bowers and Colson Loveland," or something like that.
But just keep scrolling for this great bat.
There is no redeeming value to this team.
This team will never. Isn't it crazy?
This team will literally never. This team will literally never be thought of ever again.
We just spent an hour of our lives doing this and we will never have a second thought ever
about this team until you're texting me in week 17.
By the way, the idea that I would ever be asleep on NFL football games going on is very
fanciful.
I will be awake.
Actually, the text. I just need to revise.
The text is going to come on Monday night, week 14.
It's just going to say, "We're out."
Okay.
I hit you there with the thumbs up.
Or no, maybe a thumbs down.
A thumbs down.
Yeah.
I don't want to just acknowledge it.
I do also want to express disappointment.
So I hit you with the thumbs down.
Rotopad, this was a delight.
Any content people should check out.
I know you've promised a screenshot of your team that you draft tonight with all deep
ball specialists.
That's right.
My final article of the preseason, "Sleepers and Spoilers," going up on Thursday.
I know everyone has a sleepers article, but I'm putting out my sleepers article.
And for teams. I'm doing one for all 32 teams, which can get kind of contrived.
And for teams. Oh, this team.
team kind of rocks like uh this team is exciting and then obviously we had a nice little sweat so
uh we've been trying to recreate it for a few years but uh that was it wasn't it i almost want
to remember like wasn't it a tweet like you were kind of even like licking your wounds and you're
kind of like man i i got slaughtered this week or something and i was like about that we have
exactly right yeah that's that's exactly what happened because actually it was a pretty good
season uh overall and then you know you know how best ball goes week 16 didn't really go my way so
you're like damn man like i i thought we were gonna have a good season thought we're gonna
have a week 17 sweat yeah and then you just dropped in the comments like well you have one
you have one uh alive in week 17 and yeah i was like it's such a funny team to look back on too
like not a team you would expect to make to the finals yes if you want to know how long ago uh
this team was i want to say michael gallup was uh was on that team
yeah um so sony michelle was like a lynchpin of that team it was so long ago uh
where are you at with your your drafting here for the home stretch are you maxed out i know
you're you're drafting everywhere so you probably have a lot you still have to get in
yeah i maxed bbm uh not quite a week ago uh okay last last friday i did my last couple
of bbms on on stream still have a whole bunch i like to save uh you know not to talk about
draft kings or whatever but i like to save some draft kings for the end because uh you know the
streets get a little wonky i have a text with the kitchens on there and like dan
bach and cal and cam and stuff and uh we like to to joke about the draft kings people but it's funny
that's when i start to dive into uh the dk streets when when like dan and cowell and everybody are
like starting to get into the best ball world that's your canary in the coal mine and once
they start that's what i need to get when when cal texts me about like uh how come this guy's
going so late or whatever i'm like all right it's time to get into the it's time to get into
the drafts but uh but no uh some some drafters some i'm i'm really digging the first quarter
on underdog i love love love that that tournament so i'm trying to get that maxed as well but yeah
done with bbm so i'm excited to to test out the bbm streets again yeah let's do it we are drafting
here from the 108 um what would you say is like the general uh shape of your portfolio this year
as far as i know you've obviously been a big 0rb guy over the years that was the team we drafted
had a ton of success obviously a ton of conversation this year about how viable that is wherever you
fall in kind of structure and stuff like that so i'm excited to test out the bbm streets again
this year so uh it's maybe controversial i guess but in best ball mania specifically
uh i drafted 150 zero running back teams uh did you do that last year too no not last year i did
there was like a one of the pup like the puppy seven or whatever i was like i'm just gonna fire
a bunch of 0rb teams into and i but i mostly audited it and just removed all the early round
running backs from my from my rankings but uh in bbm it was just uh i kind of have a you know a
little bit too far with some of the early i mean you know jameer gibbs rocks bijan rocks whatever
but maybe some of the second third round running backs we've gone a little bit too far on and some
of the teams that you can build uh with superstar wide receivers but specifically with brock bowers
i think was a big stand for me in in the second round and so i've been drafting a ton of of zero
running back teams on underdog let's make this pick we can keep talking about that uh barkley
goes at 105 in this draft so amon roz here cd lamb i'm on rod
to the podium yeah amon raw at eight is nice yeah one thing i've been drafting more 0rb you know
this month than i had before but one thing i keep coming back to is i i do really like getting the
elite tight end or even the elite quarterback because i also like a lot of wide receivers
late right now and i always want to keep like one to two you know arrows in my quiver for later in
the draft how do you play that with being like very heavy on 0rb or are you even mixing up the
way you do 0rb yeah so that's the big thing that's what i really enjoyed about doing this
just like taking this tournament you know if if 0rb wins i got 150 different bullets in the chamber
with a just a all that like i didn't take any real big stands on those middle round running
backs but i i called i had the exact same thought as you with like i'd like a lot of late wide
receivers i like you know then there aren't like a ton of like 17th 18th round running backs that
i like so i kind of called it rob you know rob coakley kind of coined it like a sandwich build
where i am getting um you know some late wide receivers actually
and it's maybe not what you would traditionally think of as uh let's do
did let's do bowers let's just do bowers bowers yeah get that tight end because yeah you're in
a spot where mcbride's not coming back i guess it's if uh do you do uh like would you do loveland
early fourth or i guess it'd be warren maybe late fifth yeah yeah uh i don't do a lot of warren i do
like loveland a lot i'm really really high on the bears uh we had pat and i had silva
on legendary sickos last week and we did like super spicy takes like sort of like
your true serum thing like this is a little bit too hot for me to like publicly publicly say but
let's bring silva on and and we'll talk about it and uh i said that the bears you know ben johnson
wants to be the highest scoring or the best offense of all time or whatever his his quote
was and i said my spicy take is that they're going to do it they're actually going to score
the most points per game of all time so i'm super in on the bears uh i like loveland it's a little
more burden probably for me than loveland in the portfolio um but yeah uh very high on the bears
you know the lions with all these defensive injuries i think we're we're right back to like
core's field of of the nfl you know in detroit they're just going to score a million points and
probably give up a million points i like i i wrote about this in the fantasy life newsletter that
that ben johnson quote and i know it sounds crazy to say but i think it was one of the more actionable
pieces of coach speak this year because there's certain questions that the answer they're going
to give is always the answer we're going to give we're excited about all of these guys this person's
but normally coaches say we are here to win games we don't really care how we do it this man went on
record and said i want to score as many points as humanly possible like obviously he wants to win
games but the quote was literally centered on i want blowouts i want shootouts like he's literally
saying uh that i'm not taking my foot off the gas in the fourth quarter i don't know like i found
that pretty actionable i agree and it's just like the stars totally it also makes sense like i think
i called him a a hardo you know i i think but i think he believes this stuff like i think he he
thinks like he can score as many points as he wants to and i but i think he's gonna have to
right this isn't like a a seahawk situation or a texan situation where they have this awesome
defense where it's like sure buddy you say you're gonna score a bunch but like if you're up 24
three in the fourth quarter are you really gonna keep passing like their defense doesn't look very
appealing on paper and they've already had a bunch of of injuries and then it's just like sort of this
coalescing of of all these different factors we can make we can make the pick in in just a second
but they like these year two superstar prospects um you want to do the mcbride thing or grab a wide
receiver no let's do let's do lad because i'm also really bullish on the chargers too these are
like uh we're talking about three of my favorite offenses i have a ton of herbert ton of to not
like a ton ton of lad but um the chargers are pretty easy to backstack to especially all the
mania taking over all every draft you're in nowadays what what mania
i thought you said fuller at first and i was like wait is will fuller back there are people
drafting him i thought i missed something if mike mcdaniel had will fuller i would draft him phil in
2026 for sure exactly all right i'm in rob bowers lad yeah like you said it falls pretty nice for
you know stack stuff you get uh potentially um herbert in this 80 to 89 range golf you know in
the four range so does line up nicely we did have a lot of run uh wide receivers go at the two three
turn i feel like that's a little unusual normally the breeze that jeremiah loves getting pushed up
loveland and burden do go so we're not going to be able to get one of those guys here um do you
ever do the that josh allen is part of your stuff are you always kind of focusing still on the wide
receiver tight end not a ton josh allen is probably like i prefer lamar at cost and lamar's in a range
um you know especially in the zero running back build and there goes allen anyway let's let's let's
let's pull jmo up here yeah that's fun let's have some fun yeah the almond rod jmo pairing we
continue to get really good uh you know just speak about how they feel about him in the offense we
were looking at the week one lines on off and on the clock yesterday in the pick'em lobby in jmo i
think it was like 62 63 and a half yards like i way under guessed it we're doing like a little
guessing game like i don't know if it's going to be a good game but i think it's going to be a good
they are like yeah he's being treated like you know the pickings to lamb in in a lot of ways and
you're still kind of getting a discount on that relative to to almond raw especially with uh well
first of all they only kept four wide receivers and one of them yeah hey martin uh that i don't
think most people even know who that know who that is i've been saying that that's pretty
bullish for isaac tesla who i think stinks at football but if he's going to be on the field
running a bunch of routes for the detroit lions like i would draft you playing wide receiver three
for the lions i think um but it's like super bullish for almond raw and and jmo i think one
of the lions beats came out and said just yesterday or today or recently that uh he thinks jmo is going
to lead the team in receiving which i think is just preposterous like that i love jameson williams
but uh i but do you remember you do your nfl draft you know the thursday night nfl draft stream like
i came on the year jmo got drafted and uh i think that was the year gretch like was burping and you
know being a
- A hot mess. - Yeah.
I had I had partaken in a couple libations myself and I I love Jameson Williams is from here he's
one of my favorite prospects and I just snap bought a Jameson Williams jersey on live on on
your stream so he has a special place in my heart but I just think it's going to be it's similar to
the Bears right like these not quite as young with the Lions but like these young really talented
like in their primes or emerging into their primes and like they're gonna have like with
awesome offenses offensive lines coaching like everything stars align for for both the Bears
and and um the Lions does just score an absolute ton of points yeah I can't get out of my head I
think JJ mentioned it on a show that the Lions are the one team that's projected to score 24 more
points every single week this year just by the implied uh look ahead lines which is uh certainly
uh sounds nice to me uh all right we're about to pick here at 5-8 we have Aminra, Ladd, Jamo,
and Brock Bowers.
Here Parker Washington, Christian Watson, Carnell Tate, Tyler Warren, who do you like?
I'm making you take Parker Washington.
Let's do it.
I think I saw earlier this summer you had like two percent Parker Washington so we got to pump
those are rookie numbers brother we got to pump those numbers up.
My line in the sand and I let my guess break it has been I'm I'm Christian Watson over Parker
Washington unfortunately it just it never breaks uh that way because people are taking him earlier
and earlier so I'm going to be light on him but go ahead give me the uh give me the selling point
on Parker Washington.
Yeah I I liked him this is it can be a real fool's errand to like hold to your priors on
prospects that have been in the league for three years right but I I liked him as a prospect um
he's pretty dynamic with the football in his hands and then you know everything we've gotten out of
Jaguars camp has you just couldn't possibly be more bullish for him from Travis Hunter playing
mostly defense to like Jacoby Myers is banged up now Brian Thomas has been banged up and I'm not
particularly sure how awesome Brian Thomas is but I think he's been banged up and I think he's been
banged up and I think he's been banged up and I think he's been banged up and I'm not particularly sure how awesome
Brian Thomas is like he had a similar like second half of his rookie season but that was a different
regime with a different quarterback and now Parker Washington uh I forget what it was from you know
we'll call it the second half of the season was one of the best wide receivers in fantasy football
over the entire season he had the 12th highest yards per route run in the entire NFL last year
he produced like a borderline star wide receiver I'm not sure if it's real I understand the the
skepticism but like it's similar to what we were just talking about with like uh Ben Johnson like
Liam Cohen is telling you like this dude rocks like I love this guy and so I'm I'm putting my
faith in Liam Cohen all right we are all about to be on the clock in the middle of the sixth uh
do you break your running back cherry here do you grab another wide receiver what do you like
well um uh Ramondre is available correct he is yep yeah let's do Ramondre he's my like I do
so when you drop the 150 zero running back teams you you I call them more like zero running back
principals and uh zero running back adjacent teams like I'll you know if in the fourth round
like I'm not gonna remove Travis Etienne from my portfolio just because like a you know a semantic
argument on what is or isn't zero running back so like I have Scadaboo and Etienne and Bucky and
Swift and those guys in there but like if we draft a pure like I have teams exactly like we drafted
here today Ramondre is so good I'm not gonna remove Travis Etienne from my portfolio just because like a
Ramondre is such a gift I think for even like a hero running back build right like if we took
JT in the first or something you could still take Ramondre here as a running back too that's just
like similarly to what we've been talking about with all these other guys like the summer has
played out perfectly for for Ramondre like you were worried about Travion taking a year two
leap like I love Travion Henderson the talent but like it was a bet on him improving upon
the facets of his game that he struggled with as a rookie and
by all reports that hasn't happened you know what I mean like he hasn't improved enough in the
uh pass protection game like they still have some concerns about him like reading blocks and stuff
and you know getting doing the little things as a running back and then he got banged up and so
it's like you know I'm just getting the running back one in a you know a timeshare but still the
running back one on a team that went to the Super Bowl that added AJ Brown in the offseason Drake
May getting better like uh like I said he he's like the perfect like pure true zero running back
RB1 is like we don't get those that much anymore with this new market and I think but I think
Ramondre is kind of the last call for that no I'm with you he's my most drafted running back I think
probably after this click my most drafted player in in BBM and I've been kind of surprised he
hasn't made the move up me too around five I thought that because there's not really resistance
there either I thought you know Marvin Harrison Brian Thomas go at the turn here someone pulls
up Caleb Williams I'm like how how has he not ended up there but um that is what has happened
um let's see here do you we do do you pull the trigger on Herbert uh slightly ahead of ADP let's
do I'll put him in the queue real quick just to make sure if there's anything else we're missing
this is such a dead zone dude this this area I take so many of these quarterbacks because
like I'm sorry Jonathan Brooks to pick 75 in in BBM is not my my favorite when you know we have
teams with him in the 130s or or whatever from earlier in the summer that's not like a huge deal
but I do think it matters to a certain degree and
so this is just a huge like like you said there's no resistance on remandre like I think like that
Christian Watson Parker Washington Mike Evans area is like the line of resistance on remandre
but he hasn't gotten up there and then there's this huge tier here where like I don't know man
what what really is the difference between some of these like receivers and running backs will
get in around 8 9 10 um but you have this this quarterback tier that I love what you know whoever
you need like if you drafted Devante Smith just take Jalen Hurts if you have T or Chase take
take Joe Burrow there's I've just so many of these quarterbacks that I love but I don't know if
there's so much exposure to all these quarterbacks may Caleb Etc yeah and especially I mean you see
Hertz go 76 here he continues to fall uh what do you think about the new Marshawn Lloyd price I
mean similar dynamic you were saying about Brooks where you know there's 17th 18th round Lloyd on
what like hundreds of thousands of teams yeah I I would rather take Brooks at the price than I
would take Marshawn Lloyd in in it's you know this is sometimes a cop-out but it's like in
the flagship tournaments like best ball mania like it's just really hard to get
the money in good with a Marshawn Lloyd team at these prices and like I'm trying to beat all of
the teams and if he if he hits as like a seventh round value like I have the worst Marshawn Lloyd
teams in the whole tournament even if I have some guys you know later that they that other teams
don't have so Lawrence same bias Herbert but he's here Josh Downs at wide receiver we have the
smaller quorum Dobbins Brooks obviously let's do quorum let's do Blake quorum yeah um quorum's a
fun one do you think we could get um like a full flippening by the end of the season here with these
two one of my um people asked yesterday on the on my show that I did for like truth serum you know
your your truth serum concept and I said I don't and this is not through the lens of what true serum
really is which is the bit on that by the way it's hilarious like I know I screwed it up when
you first started doing it like what they were actually uh trying to uncover it was just like
let's give a hot take instead of give a truth serum take but anyway well I was just like riffing
on a bunch of stuff and I said I think Blake quorum might just outrush Kyron Williams this
season like I I don't know if it's a full flippening but you have this like we talked about
with the remandre and Travion like okay so even if he's the lighter side of a committee I think
it's more of a committee between the two of them yeah
this year and it's the Rams and like I mean for Christ's sake they just got Aaron Donald like the
defense they have like one of the best defenses in the league you know Stafford's older they're
playing for the Super Bowl I just feel like there's no need to run Kyron into the ground
like they have before especially like quorum might just be a better runner than he is so why not give
him plenty of work and then you have contingent value too right it's like another like sort of
zero RB kind of nice little gold mine that he's going to be productive I think regardless just
given the situation and then if
something happens to Kyron Williams even if you know for a game or two or like God forbid like
Kyron just misses week 17 you know you have the Rams workhorse at pick whatever in the 80s um so
yeah I have a ton of him too how have you because this team we've drafted so far I'm in Rob Bowers
Ladd Jamo Parker Washington remandre Herbert quorum other than Bowers on the Raiders these
are like all top offenses have you been doing you know the jet stuff Garrett Wilson have you been
doing the cardinal stuff where there's values here but they're going to be objectively bad teams or do
you really kind of
prioritize the good teams I definitely prioritize the the good teams Bowers is like an exception
powers like if it's a superstar level talent like I just think Brock Bowers is you know potentially
going to go down as one of the best tight ends like of all time um if it's a superstar level but
like Michael Wilson is not that I do take Breece and Garrett Wilson because I think they're potentially
like like supremely talented players and Gino could be an upgrade but I do tend to focus more on the
like there's a the bar
clear for the bad offense guys is is just higher than yeah like Jameson Williams doesn't have to be
as talented as Garrett Wilson because he's just going to be spoon-fed fancy points about to be
on the clock at 104. um we have uh Concepcion we have Chuba we have Bill uh Purdy goes uh what do
you want to look at did golf go no he's still here it does take off okay we have a little bit
of coverage but you never know what I just come back yeah I mean with the yeah with the two yeah
probably make sure you don't get boxed out here otherwise that that doesn't age too great I think
the guys on the right side okay no most of them have a quarterback but the one guy doesn't have
a quarterback and like sometimes you'll get the I don't know where Laporta went yeah so the Laporta
yeah that's a good call yes you are you never Mark safe from especially with the lines the
Draft will do at the Laporta Draft, and people will take him name.
yep 100 especially right now like i do sometimes like to you like i told you about those you know
those first quarter drafts like i'm oh my god i'm in way too many slow drafts and the clocks went
down i'm i'm dying over here but um you'll see the guys steam up in a like a kind of a niche
side contest like that and it's like those are you know sometimes it's obviously the first quarter is
a little different just the first four weeks but sometimes those are also the guys where like
everyone's just really excited and like you don't want to push that i know it's best ball mini it's
different but the like really steamy guys like golf sometimes goes in like the 80s of the first
quarter draft like he'll go ahead like yeah he'll go ahead of a lot some of these quarterbacks that
he goes way behind in bbm and so i just yeah i just don't feel the need to to push it like okay
we got bill on this team or something like it's fine if we don't have him but we we really want
golf with those two guys for sure so we get that double stack about to be on the clock at 113 here
um we're looking at kittle manung guy
uh romeo dobbs rashad white um i don't know can you go to running back yeah uh chris rodriguez
aaron jones keaton mitchell let's let's do chris rodriguez actually um we have parker i know that
that's not like a primary you know direct correlation or whatever they're actually you
know in ceiling games maybe a little bit inversely correlated but i like to um you
know build in those like sort of secondary stacks like you know we're about to be in the
the dfs side of things like you can correlate games and teams and stuff without playing the
quarterback um and so i like to do that you know sort of break ties to like oh i i have a bet in
the first five rounds on the jaguars so let's add instead of taking rashad white or whatever which
he does correlate with parker in week 17 but i prefer the the same team correlation to the week
17 for sure and i mean rodriguez i think is just an awesome selection for really thin running back
rooms i mean he's gonna have that role um it's kind of like the remandre thing right where he's
very much like the remandre dollar store yeah dollar store remandre right yeah because i mean
there's just there's zero indications that rodriguez isn't going to have like at least 50
of the work out of the gate and i guess the big question is like who that first goal line carry
first and goal at the one for the jacks who gets that carry i think rodriguez dude i think rodriguez
i think similar to like the jacks who gets that carry i think rodriguez dude i think rodriguez i
think like the lions only keeping four and really keeping like 2.5 wide receivers on the active
roster though laquinta allen injury i think is like legit meaningful uh but in a weird way you
know c rod's not going to pick up the passing downward like they told us they straight up told
us laquinta allen is our you know long down the distance passing down back he's like one of the
best pass protectors in the league he's a good receiver uh not maybe not a great running back
but he's like young samaj ap ryan or whatever right and so i don't know what's up going on
with him like we haven't really i don't know what's going on with him like we haven't really
like they just immediately ruled him out for the rest of training camp and we haven't really
gotten good updates on him and so i think tootin's going to take on that you know traditional passing
game stuff or they want him to which means like there's potential for c rod to steal some more of
the early down rushing stuff so i think it's like a a backwards way for him to gain some value too
about to be on the clock i don't know what you're doing with the keaton mitchell mystery injury he's
here debo coker uh she he let's stay lightly let's just think i know i know he's falling and
you could push it but there's nothing here that like really stands out and i'm a big keaton guy i'm
i don't need to wax poetic about him i i always direct people now if they argue with me about
keaton to gretchen's like i feel like gretchen was like broke his keyboard angrily writing about
uh like you guys just don't get it about keaton mitchell but i was just like nodding my head
the whole time reading his piece because that's i have a i have a pretty big bag of
of keaton no i'm i'm excited about him too it does suck that there's just like this mystery
injury and i don't know what's going on with him but i think it's going to be a good game
right now but again we did the little pairing rodriguez and parker washington we now do keaton
and lad and kind of what we were talking about at the top we started with no running backs through
five rounds and yet we have wide receiver darts to play with we only have four wide receivers here
and so now we can kind of hit the sweet spot for some of these you know values this is really like
my i know this is not like a big pivot but like in terms of maybe how i used to build zero running
back teams like this is kind of that that pivot like i said rob called it this sandwich
idea that's really what we're doing right you don't see any more orange after after round five
that'll come later because i do still think a lot of the late picks uh the best late picks are at
the wide receiver position and so you can still build like really good running back rooms even
though you didn't draft one of them early so this is just kind of a small pivot to how i've been
building these teams all right we got the two four four one about to be on the clock um running
back you're in the algier coleman mike washington bigsby range wide receiver deboe
denzel boston jacoby lane range tight end we got a bunch here likely falling goddard andrews who do
you like let's do jacoby lane i know it's rich i know it's rich but the different like someone
might ask well if you're unwilling to draft marshawn lloyd higher why are you chasing
jacoby lane up from i just think from the 18th to the 12th or 13th is like
from a one dollar you know we use the auction dollar analogy a lot like from a one dollar
player to like a three dollar player whereas from the 18th to the 7th is like now we're into you
know he's 10 15 or whatever um it's a it's a huge seismic shift once you break into the top
six seven eight rounds whereas like 12 13 14 is not really that dissimilar to round 18 for sure
and i think you know looking um he's kind of in my mind like the arbitrage stribling where
you've gotten so much positive news whatever phrase you want to use drum beat their performance
how the beats talk about them like i feel if there's a special
wide receiver breakout this year at uh the wide receiver position i think it's stribling or jacoby
lane one of them like you said you have to take that pick 88 and i don't even think that's crazy
but jacoby lane at 137 you know you've been able to get him in the 140s or whatever like
there's really the chance if andrews is cooked uh you know jacoby lane just could straight be
the wide receiver too on a really really exciting offense and it sounds like he's a baller it sounds
like this dude could play and i think again at these prices like a rookie wide receiver
you know third round pick um on the baltimore ravens with like we talked about resistance
like in terms of adp rises like what resistance does he have other than zay flowers in in gaining
targets they don't really have you know the knock i love zay flowers i draft a lot of him the knock
on him of course is a lack of touchdowns well that's why they drafted jacoby that's why they
drafted this six five you know contested catch big bodied end zone threat um and so like i he doesn't
even have to be special i think to score a significant amount of fantasy points especially
at this price all right we are about to pick here at 13 8 it's close with trey harris if you think
he comes back if he's a must for a herbert team or we do have like jonah coleman mike washington
bigsby here let's do trey harris that's another one of my that's another one of my guys i would
yeah lock them up i do like the the running back value there but i think on a herbert team in trey
some spots open that was the guy i kind of like earmarked in the back when we went down this road
i'm like trey harris makes so much sense here and i i just think if the chargers really explode
and i was a huge trey harris prospect bro i know that the rookie year didn't go great but i was
actually really encouraged by a guy who was like a potentially flawed you know high like he had a
little bit like tennessee you know where like it's kind of this weird fluky offense and the
efficiency can be a bit of a mirage um and that's the case you know that was jaylen hyatt and cedric
tillman and you know these guys uh ole miss has some now lsu has some of that um but i think trey
harris getting on the field and earning like a real role and like doing the dirty work as a rookie
was like a little shocking honestly um but i think like a really a really positive sign for for year
two all right 14 5 we got a 2 4 6 1
we did see those running backs go off the board but you still have like dylan samson range you got
uh this batch of wide receivers tight end barner sadiq dulcich what do you like uh let's take emmet
johnson is he still here i saw him perfect yes another guy too where uh i just don't think you
should have any sticker shock based on how things have played out like i was kind of worried about
the demarcato stuff just with the veteran bullshit that the chiefs always pull you get rid of that
and it's what
it's brashard smith that's literally what the last other body here i mean holy cow it's it's emmet
johnson and i also think that like this is what you wait for right so sometimes we like nerdy
best ball sickos who draft all summer get like they just get sticker shock and get like man he
used to go in the 18th this feels really uncomfortable taking and it does feel uncomfortable
taking them at you know four rounds higher than before but it's like this is what you wait for
it in you know late august and early september is to get this locked in information about like
he was and it was my rb2 in the pre-draft before price went in the first round and it was my rb2 like
i think he's really talented um he was really good in the preseason which is not much but i think
again the run out for him like a lot of these guys we've talked about is just like so nutted
like brashard smith is like a gadget converted wide receiver who's like never gonna steal
real meaningful work so like i think emmet's gonna play like ken walker's not gonna play every snap
like i think emmet's just gonna play from day one
one, it's the Chiefs.
Mahomes is probably gonna run less
so you can get some more check downs.
and obviously the contingent value of of a you know a rookie a talented rookie on the
chiefs behind ken walker is like that's what you dream of especially on a zero running back team
uh they are pointing out in the chat that the bi-week bros are going to be mad at us i don't
even is this even that bad lad it's only three right it's only three come on if you're gonna
bi-week bro me you need to get me at four come on who do the lions play in uh week seven so we
that's all we just need the lions to score 50 or whatever in week seven and we're covered for
yeah okay who do lions play week seven let's figure this out so the bi-week bros can sleep
easy they're at home versus the green bay packers we're fine yes they'll be just fine
uh all right we are two picks away here we have this two five six one um let's see what spots do
you want to look at here i i still don't mind um did kaylin black go um let's see no he
did not he's another priority for me right now um yes it's like the jacoby lane and emmett johnson
stuff like we've been waiting that that's who i would take is kaylin loving black like we're
waiting on the backup to christian mccaffrey all summer i thought it would be jordan james early
that hasn't really worked out um and so again like it's funny it's kind of funny that stribling just
skyrocketed right but kaylin black like seemingly wins the job is like a very similar like profile
of like way overdrafted we've all laughed at at shanahan and the 49ers after the draft like what
are you guys doing with this stribling and black stuff but we've been able to like let it let that
go for stribling and kaylin black there's still just a little bit of hesitance on on him even
though he he looked awesome in the preseason too he looked he looked better than i than i remember
from from college and so just being on the 49ers and being cmc's backups like so valuable you
remember the jordan mason run like if jordan mason can do it for six years and then he's like oh yeah
mason can do it for six weeks like kaylin black can do it if there's no cmc for a short stretch
i know man it's like you said it's like these are the spots we wait for all summer and now it's like
it's go time it's time to move and even i kind of want to like reset some of my ranks to push some
of these guys up just as like a reminder here um can i interest you in a little uh kenyan sadiq
tied into or does that break your uh your your bad teams or do you have someone else you like
i want the full experience here let's uh can you can you go to wide receiver
yeah we're in like naylor douglas malachi fields dell hers baitman is baitman available
i know that's yes let's take a little secondary ravens um you know stack on the side with lane
and baitman and look nobody is more tilted by the career trajectory of rashad baitman you remember
i think it was was it that year that we drafted that bbm team that we coined the baitman line
you remember that i think it was the year after that was the baitman line
because i remember round eight rashad baitman and trailyn burks were like we made this whole bit
around like if you don't have you know four wide receivers by rashad baitman and you look back and
it's like what were we what were we even talking about we could not have possibly been more wrong
but i think again this is the stuff that's played out this summer for rashad baitman is like
crazy bullish like elijah sarat has not really done much jacoby lane has won the wide receiver
three job they've spoken really highly about rashad baitman they've never wavered on no there's
a competition for wide receiver three rashad baitman is our wide receiver two and like i get
it he was horrible last year he's been a disappointment two years ago dude the guy had
like 750 yards and nine touchdowns in this offense i'm really excited about declan doyle uh i think
that the ravens offense is another one of those that we really want to bet on um you know getting
kind of the boomer approach all the tight ends and pat recalls
and all that kind of stuff out of there like if baitman doesn't have to be awesome to be like a
totally quality 16th round pick like we're drafting malachi fields and jalen nailer and jerry judy like
you know i i get he's not going to be some star but on the ravens like can he produce meaningful
fantasy results for us i think so do you think do you view it as like a chaperone thing with
baitman and lane where there's a handoff uh or do you view scenarios where both of them could be
hitting your lineups in in the playoffs i think it's a good question i think it's a good question
i think both of them can can hit your lines probably probably not in the same week you know
yeah um assuming zay flowers is there but you mentioned like dude i think andrews might just
be cooked yeah and like so this isn't like you know a lot of times we do the wide receiver one
wide receiver two and like but there's a there's a tight end that's really impactful you know that
matter like that's that can be a zero percent target share player like you know when you have
an adam troutman or it can be a 20 or 25 percent target share player at tight end and they don't
have that i don't think um yeah i'm willing to bet against mark andrews
and like i said i love zay but like i think the offense will still cook like even if something
happens to say flowers you know so you kind of get double contingent value um and so that yeah
the ravens are just a team that i'm i'm betting on i'm kind of shocked that frankly like lane
didn't move up like we talked about with shriveling or baitman hasn't moved up anymore than they have
let's make this next pick here uh mendoza's fallen with bowers we also need probably a tight end to
think um let's just take eric all okay i think this is my first hang on can i as a er eric k yeah
got it got it in time dude i think wasn't it the year was it like yoshi vas's rookie year we took
we took him you you always get the deep sleeper on the on the bangles here i i had to just for
the show right but um dude it was just this morning i forget what the quote was
um out of cincinnati um but said you know they're basically asking like is you know eric all's been
injured he's tore his acl like three times in his life so uh but i think he's really talented i
thought he was a pretty fun prospect and i think they mentioned earlier this summer that eric all
is like this is obviously hyperbolic but that like he's like the key to the offense
and that sounds foolish but they want to they want to play more 11 personnel with a true tight end
like a real tight end but one that can block
and catch passes it's not my mic is sick he's just a slot receiver right and like drew sample
is just an offensive lineman getting him in there to be able to play under center more
and you know run the football run play action but have a you know not give away what they're doing
uh with the tight end is like a critical component and they mentioned this morning that like it's
just like wheels up there's no restrictions for week one um and so he's like one percent drafted
in in bbm so that that's the kind of guy i like to take at the end here all right how do we land
this plane two six seven eight nine ten nine ten nine ten nine ten nine ten nine ten nine ten
seven two what position you want to look at uh i i like taking seven we're really good at wide
receiver here i think i like taking seven running backs on zero running back yeah it's just like
lean into they're more valuable um can i can i float uh mr kendre miller oh yeah yeah dude he's
he's someone that i've actually been wanting to click uh i wrote him down on my like short list
so this is a perfect spot to uh to get a kendre here just another good run out for him another
guy you know that i've been holding on to as i loved kendre the prospect i he was one of my
highest drafted players like two years ago or something so you know he's been kicking around
and not being very productive or healthy for his nfl career but he's healthy amongst a backfield
that doesn't have anybody healthy like it's travis etn and him like even devin neal is on
injured reserve um so i like he's the running back too in new orleans
and i'm happy to bet against alvin kamara for sure at this stage so um yeah he's just it that's what
i like to do at this time of year right it's like these 16th 17th 18th round guys that just like
haven't been drafted but have gotten some really positive you know a positive run out yeah the one
thing before we recap this team that the chat did mention so there was some legal stuff with bateman
have you looked into that as far as if you think that's going to be an issue yeah i have and you
i'm sure you're familiar drew davenport yeah on twitter i that's my go-to resource and him and
pretty much anybody else that i read like i'm not a lawyer i try not to i do wear a hat on every
stream i try not to put a lawyer hat on in these in these situations like it's not my area of
expertise and frankly trying to predict the nfl uh in legal matters is like borderline impossible
it doesn't sound like anything to me that will impact this season um so that's i'm if the market
is worried about that i'm not going to be worried about that i'm going to be worried about the
nfl i'm going to be worried about that i get it like we always you know the aren't you worried
stuff is always funny people always ask like aren't you worried about this thing and i'm like
leonie said it a couple years ago like if you ask me if i'm worried about it the answer is
i live yeah i think he said i live in like crippling fear of absolutely everything that
happens in fantasy football right so yes am i worried sure but like i can't worry about
absolutely everything like i just think if the market's going to worry about it and he's the
i'll take that risk on all right i'm going to recap this team get uh buying force final thoughts
we do have one more coffee giveaway to do here so let's use hashtag eric now this is spelled
not like our guest but like our tight end this is e-r-i-c-k hashtag eric with the c in the chat
we'll give away one final bag of vasileros and sun's coffee here for all of you who have been
hanging out this morning for best ball breakfast eric and i just did a classic
zero rb build with the 2772 herbert and goff at quarterback remandre blake quorum chris
rodriguez keaton mitchell emmett johnson kaylin black kendre miller at running back
Amin Ra lad JMO Parker Washington Jacoby Lane Trey Harris Rashad Bateman Brock Bowers Eric all
I mean what other than maybe Kendra Miller and Brock Bowers every single team here probably has
a win total like over eight and a half or nine yeah and uh probably projected to be you know
top five maybe a little rich for the Chargers but top 10 for sure um just loading up on really good
players on really good like it doesn't always have to be that complicated you know what I mean like
sometimes you can just kind of take what the market gives you and I think that those offenses
and like the Bears you know Bears are a little bit pricier but like just investing in those
incredibly awesome offenses is like you can't ever really go wrong and then um I think like
one of my like sort of biggest beliefs is taking this information that we're getting and especially
in situations like Kendra like Eric all like Bateman where maybe the market's just like
not that interested you know it
our opponents tend to like pick and choose right like stripling like yes I'm acting I'm
catapulting him way up Marshawn Lloyd I'm catapulting him way up etc etc but some of them
they just don't really dive into um and I get not diving into Eric all and Kendra Miller but
those are the guys that then like that the team that we drafted I'm not saying Kendra Miller is
going to be Sony Michelle but it's like that kind of a situation where that year Sony Michelle was
actually on the Patriots when we drafted him and he ended up on the Rams but that that was the
stuff we were hearing is like oh my god I'm not going to be on the Patriots I'm going to be on the
like Sony Michelle's not going to make the Patriots but other teams are interested um and so let's
let's take a swing on that that kind of a guy and just like finding those news nuggets that that
your opponents aren't aren't really considering or at least not prioritizing is is really where
I'm living for this last week for sure and it's like you know like you said it's it's getting
these guys to peak at different different points you know yeah you're going to need some early
season production from Chris Rodriguez maybe Kendra Miller get some looks while Camara's out
and maybe Camara comes back and Kendra Miller's no longer a thing but then oh boom now all of a
sudden CMC misses two games you know in the middle and then Kalen Black you know you really are
popcorning it when you play these big zero RB rooms uh nice stacks here double stacks with
Herbert and Goff there we get Bowers to hold it down at the tight end spot very very fun team here
and I do yeah I think pushing these guys up the Emmett Johnson the Kalen Black the Kendra Miller
are you doing the Malik Davis thing too oh of course I stupidly look this was
dumb okay so but I stupidly was I thought Malik Davis would be the backup like at the beginning
of the summer uh I thought Malik Davis Jordan James and Chris Brooks you'll have to forgive
me that I didn't think Marshawn Lloyd would stay healthy right and so so I'm I remember going back
like I was also like drafting neighbors when he was falling and you know Parker Washington used
to be cheap and all that and so you you go back and you know you do a little roster baiting right
at the end of the at the end of the summer I'm like let's go look at some of those fun like
whatever teams and I like just a couple weeks ago I was like oh my god I ruined it with Malik
Davis you know I ruined it with Chris Brooks and then it was just straight Undertaker Jeff on
cut down day like I was just laughing like I thought I buried my you know I buried my early
teams with some of these terrible late round running backs and they just I mean I can't
believe the Malik Davis uh Jaden I mean they don't even want Jaden Blue on the practice squad
that's crazy I would love to be a fly on the wall in those coaches rooms but uh yeah I'm
Cowboys backup running back Niners backup running back those again those are the situations we
waited for Davis went off on ADP chasing last night on some of the Chargers beat reporters
that he realized are just part of like a podcasting network who who cosplay I'm like mad at the legit
Cowboys beat reporters because I read and reported on so many Jaden Blue blurbs like this wasn't a
one-off this was a drum beat that things were different that they expect big things that he
was going to be the locked and loaded third down back because Javante really struggled and now he's
even on the team I'm like what like what did did something happen behind closed doors that we
didn't know about that was the straw that broke the camel's back because it doesn't line up with
what we were told all offseason so I forget who it was um on Twitter that I was reading that there's
a total wild speculation right but it was it you know when it kind of confirms your priors you'll
run with it but like I the only thing I could think of is like this dude has to be an asshole
and again I forget who it was I apologize to the the beat or whatever it's uh uh Marcus Mosher I
think uh is it is his name anyway he was like this is if you know the behind the scenes from
Jaden Blue like a Texas and stuff like this is not a surprise to you or whatever and I was like oh
things that would have been nice to know you know a few weeks ago or last year or whatever that like
this guy is just a huge dickhead and that's why he you know that's why he didn't get to play at
Texas and that's why he's not making the Cowboys even though like you said like all summer it was
yeah they they talked about like a juice roll for him you know like it seemed like they were
carving something out for him so I capitulated and I was like yeah okay I was wrong about Malik
Davis doesn't seem like he's gonna make the team seems like Blue and Mafa are kind of competing for
the the non-Giovante role and like next I just couldn't believe I was completely shocked when
both of them got cut like one of them whatever but then both of them given everything they said was
wild crazy um I'm gonna spin for this coffee giveaway

Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Marshawn Lloyd’s rise in draft boards is justified by his strong connection to the Green Bay Packers, though his limited NFL stats and lack of sample raise concerns.
Caleb Johnson, a better prospect with stronger advanced metrics, could displace Lloyd as the Packers’ primary running back, especially if Josh Jacobs is cut, creating a high-uncertainty backfield scenario.
The Chargers’ tight end outlook, particularly Aranda Gadsden, presents a high-risk, high-reward opportunity due to Mike McDaniel’s known use of receiving tight ends, despite Gadsden’s low route percentage and pre-existing skepticism.
