218 - These Mysterious Stone Heads Were Never Meant to Be Found
1h 45m 14s
This week’s episode of Ninja’s The Butterflies explores a haunting blend of real-world mysteries and supernatural tales. It begins with the chilling story of a missing boy in an abandoned amusement park, leading to a deeper investigation into a possible curse tied to the site. The narrative shifts to ancient stone heads in England, where residents report eerie encounters, fueling theories of cursed artifacts. A central focus is Carl Buschby, a British adventurer who walked and swam across 28 years, covering over 2,000 miles, including dangerous treks through jungles and oceans, and now nearly at his destination in North England. The episode also delves into a viral theory about Amelia Earhart’s plane found in a lagoon, supported by artifacts like a woman’s makeup compact. Another major discovery is the Windover Pond burial site in Florida, where over 100 bodies buried for up to 8,000 years were found, some with preserved brain tissue and no genetic link to modern humans. The show questions human assumptions about ancient civilizations, suggesting they may have been far more advanced than previously thought. Amid these tales, humor and fan culture emerge—like a Power Rangers fan becoming a devoted follower after watching a spooky episode, and a lighthearted discussion about loons, giant squid, and cursed items. The episode ends with a mix of wonder, mystery, and a touch of absurdity, highlighting how folklore, history, and modern internet culture intersect in strange, captivating ways.
This week on Ninja's The Butterflies, in 1976, a film crew made a horrifying discovery who was inside an abandoned amusement park. What everyone thought was just another Halloween decoration was something far more disturbing. And finally, a young boy vanishes without a trace. Three years later, he comes home, but something about him isn't right. And as investigators begin to ask questions, a far more sinister mystery begins toward Rafi. And then, two mysterious stoneheads were in Earth in England. And soon after, family started reporting terrifying encounters with creatures that shouldn't exist. Over these ancient objects actually cursed. All this and so much more on this Halloween edition of Ninja's The Butterflies. His podcast is brought to you, Power By, so they're cool. Bushes are listed. Forever you've died! What do I look like? Someone that kills people? A murderer? Not me, Andy though. [MUSIC] I clapped, I clapped too, Andrew, so you know. Happy Halloween! What's the comments? It's spooky stuff. [MUSIC] [LAUGH] I kept my shoes off. Yeah, you got stuff on under. That's. My gosh, that's psychotic. What? No, because I could fight now. He's got his shoes on under his morph suit. What? That's crazy. I'm just making a claustrophobic looking at it. That's crazy. Makes me feel secure. It does look right. Yeah, it looks good. If we're being honest, what you guys are wearing is the only thing that should be allowed to be called a morph suit. Okay. Okay. I get that. You see what I'm saying? I don't. Ah! And then you put these on. What are you? We said rangers. Yeah. Power Rangers. I am an aspiring player for the Texas Rangers. Okay. That's spring training. Okay. Also, that was definitely meant for Lily. [LAUGH] Well, I grabbed it first. Because you know how I feel about the being power ranger. Well. Maybe you can be nice to me this episode. You put a wig on too. It's a little. I don't know how I'm feeling. Anyways, um, we can talk about it later. We can talk about it later. Have we talked about the being power ranger before? Um, strong feelings? Yeah. That was like my first crush. Yeah. Did you go to public school by any chance? No. I had, it was my first crush, too. Oh. Amy Joe Johnson shout out. Uh. We watch on the pod. Josh, one of them. And, uh, turns out that that was just, that was an actress and she ended up doing other works. No. It was a, uh, like, uh, eating disorder, PSA that was shown in public schools. Okay. Oh, I see. I thought you were saying something else. So I was sitting in a health class and I'm like, oh, there's my crush. Oh. Oh, she's going through so much. Oh, no. Oh, I feel so bad for her. And then it was like, uh, now when I saw the being power ranger, it was all like, I don't know what I'm looking at now. Because now I'm like, is she struggling inside of that school? Is anyone checking on her? Are you hungry? There. Hello. I want to help you. She did a TikTok where she was like, Oh, yeah, you might remember me as a pink power ranger and all of the comments were dudes and they're like, I'm old enough now. We haven't forgotten. Josh about lost his espresso right there. Yeah. Um, guys, did you hear about the man who is, probably when this comes out, he's going to be, it's going to be completed, but he walked around the entire earth. I did hear about a lot around the entire earth. Let me tell you about him. His name is Carl Buschby from England, 57 year old British adventurer. He started in on November 1, 1998 and he has been walking. He started in Chile. Chile. He has walked for 28 years straight. Wow. Dang. In 2000 miles, 29 countries, um, the rules where he couldn't use any vehicle of any sort. He was just walking and swimming. Who's making the rule? He's swimming across oceans. Listen, so, um, he crossed the, um, let me just give you some stats of what he did. He crossed the Darian gap, which is one of the world's most dangerous jungle regions between Columbia and Panama. Oh goodness. He crossed the bearing straight. That's from Alaska to Russia in 2006 and so he was navigating with like a indigenous person apparently across the ice and at some points, he had to get in the freezing water to swim to other sheets of ice. Um, do you obey the rules he made up? Yup. Yup. You can change it anytime. That's literally me though. You know what have been my, my, my second rule is these rules also don't matter and they could change at any point. Um, he was, he was in Russia and apparently was, that was the hardest country for him to cross because they kept on arresting him. Oh no. So he was arrested one time and was, uh, imprisoned for 57 days. Did he have to write in a cop car because then busted. Ooh. But what they do is he would travel and they would say you don't have the correct papers and they would arrest him and bring him back and so he just kept on doing that and apparently he went, eventually like went like, or he was like deported or something went to LA, walked from LA to Washington DC to, um, challenged his Russia visa ban, got it approved, went back and was able to cross it. He crossed the Caspian Sea in 2024, which is, it was 184 miles swim. It took him 31 days to swim it and there was boats beside him so he could grab on and sleep while he was crossing it. 31 days swimming, um, he swam the English channel in this past October, this October, right now and, um, because they wouldn't let him do the tunnel from the channel tunnel that you know that goes from France to England, uh, channel, channel, channel, yeah, channel, the channel. He wouldn't let him do that so he had to swim the, um, the channel and then he has, when this came out, he has roughly 248 miles left to walk to his mother's house in North England. Wow. And that's, he'll complete his journey. In 1998, he sent her a text that said, oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, be there to sec, be there. So his mother's still alive or it's just his mother's house, I guess he's going to find it now. Mom, mom, are you there? I just took the channel. She's been dead for 28 years. She had you in a couple of, no, this is so, this, this is so funny. She actually decided she was going to meet you. She started walking the opposite way, what, what, what do you, what do you make of stories like that? I don't, I can't get past the why. Was it for charity? When I get it, like I, I mean, I don't get it, but I get it. You know what I'm saying? Like that's, he just wanted to be the first person to do it. So what? Cool. But you're probably going to be the only person I ever do. I think that's the one. That's the one. Sometimes you do something like that and then you turn around and go, beat that everybody and everybody's like, oh, we're good. Nobody else was asking to do it. But think of everything that he walked through, like a, like worldwide, like he walked through the pandemic. Yeah. Basically the invention of the internet, like a bunch of stuff happened while he was walking big time. I wonder how he's going to assimilate. Well, they asked him, if he was a fan of walking, he said, I hate walking, so it's really boring. All right. Forrest. I think I'm done. Oh, but he said some choices then. Yeah. If I know a particular reason, uh, we're walking, that's really good. Thanks. So yeah. The man that walked across the world. Crazy. I know. That's funny. What a life. I mean, yeah. I guess. I mean, I just did. Yeah. Kids. No kids. You just had a thought. Like just, I just need a walk. I just need a walk. I just need a walk. I walked around the whole world. It's kind of how I used to think when I was like seven. I would go, man, I got wanderlust. I want to go see the world. I'm feeling claustrophobic in these. I'm so fidgety over here. Imagine what they had to do. We talked about like the terror that they had to go through as like, actually film the show. They were covered in the desert. I actually loved, are you talking about the Power Rangers? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I loved that episode. It was a big fan. Power Rangers curse. Yeah. It's crazy. Very fascinating. Yeah. Can you set the fingertips off for me, please? Yeah. I'm freaking out now. Oh gosh. Now that you've acknowledged it. Yeah. Yeah. Um. Have you showed your son's Power Rangers? Uh, no, but did, uh, I was talking to Andy. Did he tell you there's like really big fans of the show now? This show. This show. You let them watch it. Uh, well, here's how it happened. Um, they have like a day, really like a morning that we allow for like YouTube stuff. That's all kind of. Because otherwise they just watch it all the time. And so Cros was like in his room doing this thing and it's usually like sports highlights or fishing or something like that. Cool. Outdoor boys. Outdoor boys, that kind of thing. We let out. talking to the dean.
and he was like, did you see this guy? Or he was like, oh, they had this guy on ninjas who was like telling these scary stories. And I was like, no, how did you see that? And he was like, I watch him on YouTube. - Oh my goodness. - And I was like, oh, that was a very scary episode. - I just didn't know that you were doing that. And he was like, yeah, they're your friends. (laughing) You watching their stuff? - Wait, which episode was it? The one he brought up to me was, he said there was a guy who was telling scary stories. And I think he saw a short where you had like, cut this guy share it. - Was it Isaac? - I think it was Isaac. - Yeah, that was the one that we literally, I think we did put a paranzel warning on. - Yeah, we did. - We said, I'm sure all the good parents saw that. (laughing) But he's an ninjas fan. And now, so Andy sent him the steamboat Willie shirt and he walked out the other day completely unprompted. It was like, isn't my favorite shirt? And just started eating his breakfast. Like, he's like a ninjas guy now. - Yeah, that's great. - Crosy's a big fan. - Crosy, you should come on the show. - We'll cross it, we'll cross the show. He would hate that. Finn would love it. Finn's been trying to start his own podcast. - Nice. - I'm fighting Finn off of starting a content channel like every, and it's to the point where I'm like, I think I might need to like let you do something. Cause you're just like, and he will take the ring camera and film a whole YouTube video. (laughing) - That's genius. - That's awesome. - Like you about Legos and stuff. And it's funny. - Imagine doing a vlog with a ring camera. - I mean, that's hilarious. - Get that travel vlog. - Actually, I think that would go viral. - Yeah. - Like, that whole idea. - That should do what I'm doing. Cause I'm gonna force the girls to edit their own videos. - Yeah. - Like, so I'm gonna teach them how to edit. And it's like, if you put in the work, then yeah. I don't want you just like, you know, putting no thought into it. Like, let's build something. - Dude. - Yeah. But like, it wouldn't be forcing is what I'm saying. - Yeah. - I want to, I'll edit it, give me an editing thing. - Sweet. - And I'm like, but I don't want to. (laughing) - This is the part you're not realizing. - Well, speaking of editing, you guys want to song? - Yes. - Okay. - Oh. - Anthony, would you like to? - What is it? - You get the knife. - Careful. We'll pay you a lot. - We'll be there. - And technically, there's a extra bedroom and so you guys could see. - We can talk about it all this later. - No, this is really important, and we don't have a really good song. - Just kidding, we do have a really good song. - Anthony, the bold parts. - Army. - Or us. - Okay. - You'll get the vibe. - Yep. (drum music) - I was working late. Out of Friday night. When a letter in the mail gave me quite a fright. It came from the government, sealed up in black. Said we'd been reviewing. We want our cash. - I paid the tax. - He paid the federal tax. - The federal tax. - It took my savings fast. - I paid the tax. - My paycheck did in class. - The federal tax. - Now in a lower class. Out from the shadows came a man in a suit. With a briefcase bowl of forms and expensive boots. He said, "Don't be frightened. We're just here to chat." He took the federal tax. - The federal tax. - He took my money fast. - He took the tax. - And then he laughed and laughed. - The federal tax. - I want my paycheck back. - Back in 1913 they hatched a little plan. Just came out. It's a 60-lil devotional snippets, little segments of the Bible. So what we do on the Bible is funny. We talk about the parts of the Bible that are often overlooked and under-disgust. - The little story behind this book, which I haven't really talked all that much about. If you guys want me to tell it briefly. That Bible is funny, it's close. Reggie, no. - Oh, I don't know. I was gonna, I was trying to make noise. - Okay, so you guys so graciously had me when I did a book in 2020, a long time ago. The publisher I worked with on that book was kind of like taking a chance on the Bible is funny. People didn't really know what to do with the Bible is funny. People were very nervous about the Bible is funny. But they let me do that devotional, which was super fun. However, sadly, since then that publisher has been acquired. - Y'all jeez. - And is no longer publishing books. So the rights of my writings that started the Bible was funny came back to me and I got to revisit them as like a 30 something 'cause I wrote all that when I was a lot younger. And I got to work with the publisher that did the Bible's funny card game. Volume one and volume two. So they're like all in, they love the Bible's funny, they get it. And so we got to partner together to make this, which is really like everything I imagined, you know that that book would be. 'Cause that first one, like I said, it was new and I hadn't really published anything. And so it's based on the writings that started the Bible was funny, but it is like the unhinged Bible was funny version of stuff. So we're gonna get people get it. - We're excited about it. That's huge. - I love guys. - A lot of hard work, buddy. - And it's all like we did a whole new segment in there where there's every single devotional comes with like a little skit or something between Bible characters that turned out really funny. - Yeah, we're gonna go through it with the girls, so. - Hey, Glenn. - It's being able to go through it with the girls. - Yeah, Andy. - Yeah. - Should we talk about that lady in the White House? - Yeah, what's up with that lady in the White House? She seems nice. But people have made very scary edits out of her. I don't know if we could be. - I picked one of my Jordans. (laughing) - Something like that. - Someone did the signs of the news channel. Whenever the South American kids are by the window, it's like, "We saw it, it's beyond the bushes." Also, zero to 60 and 0.83 seconds or something. - Yeah. - Not so. - Crazy. - I mean, what a genius move. Like I was saying earlier, just that they had that street ramp, which by the way, think of driving like how that would throw your brain off.
Like just driving like just modeling that going up. Yeah, and then backing it down and everyone's like, oh, that's I mean, that's pretty cool. Yeah, it's and then shooting up again and then literally doing a like a bearable, dude Imagine when Tony Hawk gets his hands on this thing. I do that. I mean, it's Come on. Come on. I mean mine. That's what I'm hoping we see this like in a James Bond movie I'm hoping like Red Bull does some like really cool stuff with them like this is huge But I you I watched the Jetsons and I know where this goes It just ends up a lot of traffic in the sky. You know in the room gridlock just moving it up just up there. Yeah, it's true Would you ever get a flying car? Would I ever get a flying car it's a real question. It is a good question. That's actually a crazy point That is a real question. Um, I wouldn't I wouldn't get the first one Interested in the boat car. Yeah, that is that Disney Springs famously, but I know there are other places as well But I do in Mount Doir a lot where they just drive straight into the lake. It survived to me. I don't know why it's pretty cool You just it's like a usually a convertible with a tap down and some Older dude in a Fedora. I mean not to bring it down, but no joke in Branson, Missouri They have these duck boats when it's like it's basically like a bus. Yeah, but they I mean, it's just a common thing It's been happening four years. They just you put like 50 people in there and yeah, you know drive around then you go right on the water and Everything we were up there when we were living in Joplin We heard on the news and like that this huge storm came through. I mean like just real choppy waves and everything the I can't remember exactly what happened, but it capsized 20 people Horrished in a duck boat in Branson, Missouri Terrifying. I mean like did you like that's like you don't think anything bad could happen It's just a boat, but it's like you're trapped. Yeah, you're like as it's covered like it yeah, you're trapped Nightmare dude. I mean people just on vacation for Branson It's like it is a good reminder that whatever you do you should have a moment where you're like if I die doing this Is that gonna be lame I mean so before you go out on that duck boat, you know think to yourself for you put on a Buzz Lightyear costume. Yeah, I just imagine just getting this out of this is it you drive home You get into wrecking like this the police shows. I'm like holy crap Buzz Lightyear No Terrible speaking of people dying in bodies of water. Yes, I have a story about people dying in bodies of water. Ooh good segue. I worked out great Really good. We didn't even play in that We did what have you guys heard of the window for pond Wind over wind over no. No, this is in Florida. Oh, okay. This is just outside Titusville. This is terrifying. This is crazy 1982 construction workers in Titusville We're digging cuz they're building a neighborhood so they're just digging in this one pond the window for pond and The X-ray to pull it up rope a human skull. Oh gosh, and they're like Hold on. Let's stop. Pause here. Let's examine this. Yeah, turns out This pond was a burial site for what they call the window for people and they uncovered they basically excavated half the pond and found over a hundred bodies buried in this pond They did testing on it and these bodies were they ranged from 7,000 to 8,000 years old what and some of the skulls still had brain tissue in them harden How is that possible? It's very unique how this has been So this pond is unlike any body water pretty much in Florida to where it's pH level is neutral So there's like no acidity in it interesting the muck in the bottom of the pond Had zero oxygen in it and that's where all the bodies are buried which preserved these Bone yeah in brain tissue for upwards of 8,000 years. That's crazy in the world But the earth is only 6,000 years old. I know wow But it was I mean, it's such an amazing discovery so like they ended up like the Archaeological Foundation of Florida something ended up purchasing the ponds where no one can Disturb it, but they there's more bodies in it, but they're just leaving it But I mean they're able to like pull up like fabrics and stuff from these bodies and like the woven patterns that they had like They were incredibly skilled people for 8,000 years ago where we thought they were just like Dumb dumb cave men, but some fastening stuff they were able to connect families So this was a burial site for centuries for these people So like it wasn't just like they're all buried like in like one period of time There's bodies that were like 300 years older than another body Wow, so it was a common burial place for these people. Wow But a pretty fastening thing too is they found the body of a 15-year-old who had crippled legs And they're saying that was it's like one of the rarest fines because typically yeah They would people that would were crippled wouldn't live that they wouldn't live that long and so they were this child or this 15-year-old was carried around his whole life Which they it's just kind of like that gives you like a perspective perspective on their morality though Yeah, yeah, there's like people groups today that would like Consider it a cursed child wouldn't bury it with their own. Yeah, so it's fastening and what this is cool too They did DNA testing on the bones of these people and they don't match up with any Person or region on earth today It was basically like an ancient people what who Genetically don't line up with anyone on earth today. Oh my word. That kind of checks for Florida They're their own breed What do they look like I wonder? Are they were they short were they tall they were like nine feet tall. No, they were not. No, they weren't Do they have any like structures or anything like that or is it just about they in fabrics if you It was just fabrics, but I'm here I can pull up the while you're while you're pulling that up I did a little digging and it just brought me on to this Instagram account going through ancient Florida and a lot of so There's this one document where a Spanish explorer found a Castle basically came back and said we have found a massive castle kingdom where there are like hundreds of people on this island And it's entirely a castle this island. They're like it's not possible. It doesn't exist died with the records Turns out when Lidar came around they found in the middle of one of the bays Remnants, you know, like basically a circle mound this complex infrastructure where they found the the footings for two beams that would have supported this structure with a Canal winding through whoa, but it was entirely built of shell and so it was this kingdom But like Florida if you're building with like things like that that are brittle like shell and stuff like hurricanes would demolish Kind of a lot of the remnants of what they were probably building with so look at the pictures I said it shows of how they were buried and some of these skeletons at hair still and Then some of them had brain matter what looks like red hair bro. It does Interesting, that kind of looks like you right now. Yeah, don't wait a minute We're in that fascinating. That is how we've never heard of that That's crazy the Windover people. I feel like I mean I Think you guys feel the same based on stuff you said But I feel like every time we get a glimpse into an ancient civilization It's more developed than we think it is. Oh, yeah, like we almost always aim low and think they earned they weren't as smart They didn't have as much figured out. Well, I think that was even proven with like the Gobekli Tepe, right? Which is like one of the oldest known structures. Yeah, they discovered not that long ago like what 20 30 years ago No, sure And they're like wait a second. They were actually really sophisticated. Yeah, when we thought they were just like Hundred gathers, you know, right. They've literally built this temple that aligned with the constellations. Yeah, yeah It's like that's pretty smart. Right, and I just think it's like a theme because I It's just kind of funny too how we always do it because I we do this with like animals as well We're like, you know, we just figured out whales talked to each other Like we it's like what if we stop assuming everything but us is dummy Yeah, like maybe we start from that position and then we won't be so shocked every time We're like it's also insulting right like to start off like okay, so you're a dummy everybody that's not me or not a dummy And then I'm gonna be shocked when they're not In every circumstance a dummy until proven smart It wasn't there a shell castle by the way. I think you guys call it castle. Yeah, that's in Florida We still got to visit that because that's a mystery man. Where's it out again? It's ever by you. I think I think I visited it That's why I'm asking I think I built it No, I don't know how it got there, right? Well, he had built in the middle of the night like where no one was watching and he was moving Stones, I think the biggest stone is like nine tons or something. Yeah, people claim to have seen him like it floating in his backyard This thing and this is one of like seven or eight things in my life that rage was like we should go see this. It's cool And I'm like I don't want a don't go Castle of coral. Then we go see it. I'm like this is so cool But I'm a huge poopy pants about it before we go. I got it There's times. I have a lot of times. I'm down. There's another they called the Grand Canyon of Georgia That's another one I go to a lot. Have you guys ever heard of that something gorge it is beautiful But it was like 45 minutes out of our way and I was like I don't want
- There's something, I think it's outside of Atlanta, where it's like, it looks like a red rock from like Utah or Arizona or something, maybe yeah. But they project like movies and like shows and stuff, like they have big concerts, it's a venue, but it literally is just this huge wall face. - No way. - And it's like a rock and like I just, I would assume it's a Utah or something. It's in Georgia. - Looks super cool. - Did you see that discovery, it was made pretty recently, I think, or they've been testing it for a while, but they've kind of come up with a theory of what it was. Basically like prehistoric times, like a long time ago, you could maybe even say like the creation of Earth. There is these like pillar things that would just grow, and they are, they were a living organism, but they don't know what they were. - Pardon? - Like it wasn't a tree, it wasn't a plant, it wasn't fungus, it was just these pillars that would grow. And they, 'cause they found a petrified one, and the structure inside was like a living organism, but like it was nothing that is existing on Earth. - Maybe it's living inside of the Earth where those green people live, and it's the roots, backwards roots. - Ooh, maybe, it's like their shingles. - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - Checkbox. - They discovered a thing not that long ago that I think reappeared after being dormant for a long time that they couldn't figure out what it was. Did you see anything about this? - It wasn't, 'cause it's like mushroom adjacent, but it's not a mushroom. Did you see? - I don't think so, I don't know what this is. - It's not a ton to this story. - I think it was just fine, I don't know much. - Because even the thing I saw, there was like a scientist who was like kind of funny, and was just like, this headline is really cool, and the story's really not like it's like this sort of plant that it grew, and it didn't go for a long time, and it's kind of back. It's not quite a fungus, we're not sure what to call it. It's not quite a mushroom. We don't know anything about science at all, is what I'm pretty convinced of. - Yes, I agree. - I just saw a clip going back to Wales about sperm whales, like what is sperm whales main food? - Sperm. - Crill. (laughing) - Really, you gotta leave. - I love this, I'll leave. (laughing) - You can't be here anymore. (laughing) We gotta call a cop, this is ridiculous. (laughing) He said that's so serious. (laughing) - You guys wanted to say it, I know you did. - No, no, no one did the answer. (laughing) - The answer is squid. - Squid. - Of course it's squid. - Oh, I just said it. (laughing) - I just said it. - That's what I meant. (laughing) (laughing) - Oh no. (laughing) - I said this up again. (laughing) - Oh my God. - Okay. - How many sperm whales do you think exist in the world? In the ocean, that they know of. - 40. - They, 844,000 is actually the guesstimated. 844,000? - That Earth is very big. - Yeah, that's their guess. But to sustain the diet, they eat a giant squid on average one a day. This is from a podcast, fax machine pod. So I'm kind of stealing this. But so to sustain this amount of sperm whales, to have, you need a large population of giant squid. We don't see a lot of them. They're deeper, sperm whales can go deeper than we can see. The number of giant squid that have to exist on the planet is 308 million, 337,765 giant squid. Like that's how the math checks out. You're telling me there's that many giant squid in the ocean. - Oh my goodness. - And we haven't seen them. - We haven't seen them. - That's spooky, spooky. - See, but my thing with the ocean though is like, I always with the ocean. I'm like, yeah, probably. - I know. - You tell me and probably, yeah. It's going on down there. - But that is a massive number. - That's a massive number. - You heard that, dude, right? - Yeah, yeah. - Your flexion sounded a little weird. - The whole body is not recovered from what happened a couple minutes ago, yeah. - I tried to move on. - And I'm also really off put by whatever this situation is. - That's how he duty. - I'm just sure to this pumpkin in his place, man. Just making me look at this pumpkin. (laughing) - Did you see this thing? (laughing) - Did this pumpkin be any more pumpkin? (laughing) - That's what it means. (laughing) - Okay, over my shoulder. - Hey. - Did you guys hear they think they found Amelia Earhart's plane? - Dude, yeah, just thought they yesterday. - Yeah, they found it in a little room. - In Japan? - I don't think it was in Japan. - Did you person think she might have landed in Japan and lived happily ever after? - I didn't hear Japan. I've never heard Japan. - Would you hear it first? - I think it was like the Philippines or something. - Okay. - Same, same. - There is nothing better than presenting something to a group as common knowledge that nobody knows. - So what are they saying about it? - Yeah, they say if they think they found it in this abandoned lagoon. So we were just talking about Amelia Earhart all day yesterday. - What's with all the talking? Let's go look in. - Yeah, I don't know what we're missing. But don't you feel like every 10 years, they're like, "Oh, we did it, we found it." - We think we found it. - That's what, like until it's out of the water, I'm not believing yet. - Yeah. - That's why I don't believe they found the Titanic. - Take it out of the water, I'll believe you. (laughing) - And they say they found Noah's Ark, too. That was it. - No, what's up, Tee? - Yeah, what's up Tee? - We have a couple of months until we find out. - Oh. - But that, I mean, does she know the update with that LA Marzooli talked about, like that guy that was messing with the Ark? - Oh, no, there was one of the lead archaeologists, I believe, in Turkey. - Archeologists. - Nice. - Hey. - And I'll make some. - He had a bunch of his radar scans and all this paperwork regarding the arc excavation. And while he was not in his apartment, his apartment was raided. - Ransacked. - All his stuff was taken. - Oh, my word. - Whoa. - Weird, right? - Demons. - Whoa, whoa. - We're just an atheist, a name, or a myth, a gender of Turkey. - Or it's also brilliant move too. Like for instance, this podcast is gonna be a lot of work for guys, someone stole my laptop. - Someone didn't want that episode out. - That's the move. - Yeah. - Just went viral for a fake post and then it just, he's like, "I have absolutely nothing in this apartment." - Yeah. - To fake a theft. - Dude, I hope that's the arc. - I mean, that'd be wild. - That'd be super cool. - That's been a theory for a really long time. - Well, that's what I'm saying on those, it was literally on maps creating like the 1500s, they literally have Noah's Ark placed right where that place is. - Mm. - That's interesting. - Like it was like, people always believed that that was it. - Mm-hmm. Kent Hobern, that guy, like the VHS tapes in the late 90s. Like he has like a whole section on that being it. Yeah. - Mont Arat. - They found so far the, the team is there right now as of like two days ago excavating the lagoon where they think the plane is. And so far they have found in this lagoon area. - Amelia, right? Amelia Earhart, sorry, yeah, I went back. Her plane's in the arc. They found glass bottles from the 1930s and they found a woman's makeup compact. - Oh. - So they think it's gonna be like three weeks before they have, like it's like a, it's like a really a bit like way out in the ocean. - Oh really? - A year where her last broadcast was. Which in the, in the, in the, like kind of talking about it in our house yesterday, I was like, oh, that'd be interesting. I wonder what it is. And it is like, her last broadcast is crazy lame. - Oh really? - It's like one, six, four, three. Can you, I think they're might, ah, I think, what is that? - That would be amazing. - This is like nothing significant in this last broadcast. - Dang. - I was like, oh, I thought you were gonna say something like memorable. - Women can fly. - Women can fly. - Speculating. - Speculating. - Women. - Oh, we're not going to space. We're making space. - Wow, we're good. - Very good. That jelly, the, the SpaceX rocket. - Yeah. - The other day. - Yeah. - Week, whatever. Also bummed I wasn't here to see it. - I filmed it. - Looked wild. - The jellyfish. - Did you actually, like, I let the dogs out early in the morning and was like, the freak is that and filmed it went inside to like start looking stuff up. It was like, good thing I didn't post that to my story. But yeah. - You know, we were in like the, where the launch is. We got to see one like right there. - Really? - The one of those jellyfish clouds, yeah. - That's sick. - It was wild. - You guys like, you Rousseau's, you see life and you do this. - Yeah. - You take life in a hug. - Yeah. - And you guys do a lot of stuff. - Where were you just at? We were just up in the, uh, upstate in New York and my buddy's place. Oh man, you guys would love that story. His great grandma was a millionaire in New York City in the 1940s. - Dad. - So yeah. - What a time to be a millionaire. - Big time. And so she, there is these camps in the Adirondacks. And so she bought, she had like visited other families and she wanted one, so she got one. And she took all these hunting cabins and rolled them on logs 'cause that's how they would move these structures to like a clearing. So it was the 1940s, this is happening. And this has been passed down in their family for a long time and my buddy
It got to this point in the family as these properties sometimes do where the family was like It's a lot of upkeep and it's like kind of a commitment and nobody really knew what to do with it And he was like well, I really wanted it. So he he got he'd like bought all of it out and he owns it out right now It's 800 acres what's a call row camp long pond long pond camp long pond very cool. Oh my gosh It's like I mean fall for us Floridians is just to me is like it's pretty lame. It's a chair Gross. Yeah, pretty lame. It's gross. It's though the color. Whoa crazy heavy bird It can't like really operate on land at all like it's interesting. It's too much. It's bones are are not hollow like other birds Loons are so sick, but they They take off and they land in like the funniest way in my in my opinion So okay, now you can send it. Have you ever heard of yes? Yes, nasty big old like barracuda type animal One of these Northern Pike ate a little baby loon on her lake And she said everyone on this property if you catch a Northern Pike you kill it Don't you dare throw those back in and it has been family tradition Like that's up till every Northern Pike they take out. They're invasive. Yeah, they're also like invasive and kind of nuisance fish But it is also a family vendetta That's that's prior That's what drives us I'm speaking of driving us. How we 40 minute warning go in a minute but not now Um, if we were in a slasher movie. Yeah, who's gonna die first guy who's gonna die last? Does anybody survive and who's the killer? Oh, okay, so someone in this room is the killer. It doesn't have to be somebody in this room, but it could be a joint enemy. Jay's definitely the killer Who die who usually dies first. It's usually the person that it's the who dies first. The ethnic person usually dies first. That's actually true. It's true But yeah, I don't think it's me Anthony is Jewish Yeah, he just found out he bankrolled the movie. He's recent I feel like I feel like kind of a Loud character does die first and a lot of times in my head right I had a visceral reaction to this In my head you two made it. Oh cool. At the end. What? And it was like a coming together moment. No, I think that's a lame warming. I think that I die Maybe in the middle of the story Um unexpectedly for sure. Josh survived of different cars. It's more of a curse to him It could be because he has PTSD for everybody dying. Willie dies of natural cause. Willie is a really bad flu It's completely disconnected. It's holding us back the whole time. We're trying to run. She keeps seeing things Mass murderer So sorry, how are you doing that? I just pulled it down over my legs Powerball Did it in my yeah, I guess in my mind it was like a Like a scream sound movie and yeah you guys yeah, I've ended up like in a relationship at the end I feel like I died first pretty quickly in my head just as like I agree with you It's what you're one of the first one. Hey, just you're the more logical one. You're like guys We need to calm down. We need to have a plan. Yeah, from the back. Yeah
- Yeah. - Tell us. - Unrelated, it's like a different, it's like an axe throwing axe in it. - Yeah, it's literally fall. (laughing) - She's holding a hatch and she stays after 'em. - And then it was, who's the murderer? - Yeah, who's the killer? - Whoa, who is the killer? I don't know that one. - I feel like I'm the killer and I just had all these weird, near death experiences so they're like, "Andy's not the killer" 'cause he keeps like almost dying. - Yeah, but it's like a friend, yeah. But it's also like scream because don't they like some, they feign an injury in scream. - Yeah, to do that like double stab at the end. - And then they kill each other. - I kinda miss the silliness of that, like, brand of horror. - Oh yeah, it's like my favorite scary movie. - Like, and even like, I know what you did last summer, maybe a little bit, that early 2000s horror movies were really good. - It was like not serious. - Yeah, we didn't take it, yeah, it was just, yeah, suspend your belief a little bit, like you just live in this world where this like crazy guy with a hook didn't stick with you down. - Okay, so Andy's the killer. - I guess. - I don't know if I'm rather dying in a really epic way though. Like a woodchipper. - You know in scream how she gets stuck in the garage door? - Yeah. - Could that really happen? - No, I don't think so, not now. That's probably why they have the sensors though, now. - Oh really? - I mean, I doubt they hit like, when they first built the garage, they're just like, we should also make sensors just in case it doesn't close down on somebody. - It's probably like a V8 motor pool in this. - Yeah, like it was just like, it probably went, boom, it probably went incredibly fast. - So we can just slow this down. - Let's be in a dying, I do have a dying story. - Oh, let's hear it. - After, Andy, is this real? - Give that beat. - Oh man, I'm dumb. - I got it. Do you guys want to hear about curse item? Oh, yeah. There's more about it. Oh, I got the willies. I was actually thinking about curse items this morning. I don't know what that is. Is that shared consciousness or is that like did you say something to me prior? I don't know. It's possible. By the way, Jane reads my mind. Actually, it's happened like five or six times. It's a lot of details. I'm sitting there thinking about something and she'll be like, when's the last time we saw this person? What am I thinking about right now? So you and I are doing that. One nine. That's kind of crazy. It's Grazzy reads my texts. Like perpetually the Hexham heads. Hexham, Northumberland, England. Oh, 1971. There was this boy. Let me see. Let me do this. This boy, his name was Colin Robson. He was 11 years old. And for they were doing this contest at their school where they had to sculpt something. And he decided to make this absolutely beautiful head. And I just sent a picture. Oh goodness gracious. I get your text so fast, buddy. It is an absolutely terrifying image of a face. Correct. And he made it for this contest. And he says, I don't know why I just felt like I had to make this. Oh, no. That is the face. I was serial killer. I was about to say that to the group the same thing. He actually got second place for making that head. Good for him. But everyone's like, what the heck? But he says, I just felt like I had to make it. It just popped in my head. And so I made this head. Sure. It was a couple of weeks after that. Colin and his little brother, Leslie, were digging in their garden in the backyard. Colin, they were just digging around, playing, doing that stuff. They were digging this one place about two feet down. What do they find? Two little stone heads. No way. And I'll send you this is actually like a picture of what they looked like. Will you okay? That is so scary. So they found these two. They found these or they found one two feet down dug six inches deeper and found a second one. What? And they're like, oh, these are very old. And so they brought these heads into because their mom was the mom and dad were at work. The boy, the witch. The boy and the witch. Yeah, that's the next names that they gave them. Of course. They brought these heads into their neighbor's house, which their neighbors were the Dodds, Nelly and Isaac Dodd. And that's the boy in the witch. What? Nelly Todd. No, just listen. Those are the, you shouldn't have seen those nicknames yet. That's just what they called the heads because of their features. Like the one they called the witch or the hag. And the other one is the man or the boy. Nelly. They brought them into the neighbor's house and Nelly Dodd, looked at them. They're like, oh, I don't know. These look pretty ancient. You should bring them into the monastery. Good idea. Good thinking. And bring it to the priest and see if he knows because he apparently was very cultured and knew a lot about history and whatnot. So they brought them to the priest. The priest told him he's like, yeah, they look ancient and Celtic, but I'll give them back to you in a couple days. And they're like, okay. But it was that night at the Dodds house where they started experiencing weird things in their home. The children reported hearing footsteps in their room. And this happened for a couple days. And they're like, no, it's just a sit falling from the chimneys. All right. There's one night where Nelly's daughter, seven years old, was very sick with a fever. So Nelly decided to sleep in the bed with her daughter. Sure enough, she heard the steps in the room. She opened her eyes and standing in the doorway is what she described as half man, half ram. So legs of a human. Yeah, hooves like a ram. No, thank you. Clothes for hands and then the head of a ram with horns. We said timeless. And she's like, surely, I'm just in a days. I'm not awake. Yeah. Hopefully this thing walks over to her grabs her leg. She screams loud enough to wear the neighbors woke up. Yeah. This thing, let's go runs out the door. And they're like, she's like, this thing was just in the room. Her husband, what's going on? They go downstairs. Sure enough, their front doors wide open. Oh my god. A couple days later, the priest brings these heads. They were not connecting it to these heads yet. Sure. The priest brings these heads back to the little boys family. Yeah. They had these heads just in their house. Weird stuff starts to happen. Picture frames are falling off the wall. Stuff's just breaking. Stuff is missed like weirdly getting moved. They had this little mirror that they woke up one morning and the mirror was placed on the stove facing up. But every night, wherever they put these heads, they would move and face the garden. And the parents said surely the kids are pulling our leg. Yeah. And so the dad took the heads and placed them in a place to where they could not see them. Or they didn't know that they're there. Sure enough, the next morning pivoted towards the garden. Cool. But then just weird, weird stuff was happening. And they're like, there's something off with these heads. Because bad stuff is happening in our house. Good call to hang on to them. Through connection, they found this later name was Dr. Ann Ross. And she was a doctor of archaeology and stuff. And primarily in the Celtic region. Yeah. And so she said, yeah, I'll take them and I'll study them. She took them and she's like, these are definitely Celtic with the patterns and the stuff. And like, this is what they would make. And she had them in her house. And there was one night where she was a woken in her bed. And what she describes was every bit of what you call a werewolf. She heard the door open. She heard steps. She looked up and there was a half man, half beast standing just looming over her. And she said it turned around, walked out her door, was walking out of the stairs. And she said she felt like she didn't have control over her body, but she stood up and was following this piece out the door. And she. Where are you telling us this? Of course. And she made it downstairs. The beast turned around and looked at her, walked out the door. And as soon as I walked out the door, she snapped out. Oh my gosh. And she's like, she told her how she woke her husband up. Correct. She's like, I just saw this. I'm actually terrified now. They searched the whole house couldn't find anything. They didn't tell their daughters. Naturally, because that's very spooky. Yeah. It was the next day when they were not home, the mom and dad were not home. The daughter gets home from school, opens the door, standing at the top of the stairs, was a half man, half beast. It looked at her, jumped over the bathroom, landed on the ground, stared at her, and then ran out the back door, screamed, freaked out, told her mom. She's like, I saw the same thing last night. Oh my gosh. It's like, thanks for the warning. Oh, boy.
And so they decided to give it to a museum to get rid of it. And at this point, it started circulating on the news like there's these cursed items. Well, this man came out and he was a truck driver. His name was Des Craig and he's like, oh, I made those. And everyone's like, what? He's like, yeah, yeah, I made those. He's like, I made him for, I actually used to live in that house where they found them. I made him about 16 years ago for my daughter. And I buried him in the backyard. - No. - And they're like, okay. - This was a dirty liar. - And through investigation, it turns out this guy was a known prankster. - Right. - So they don't know if he actually did or didn't. But he went to his grave claiming that he made those heads. But regardless, those heads were doing something. In fact, the stuff was happening in this museum to where like, we don't want this in the museum anymore. - Sure. - And so this guy who collects paranormal objects, his name was, what was his name? Don Robbins. Wait, what was his name? Robbins passed out. Okay, Frank Hyde. Frank Hyde, they gave this thing to Frank Hyde. And the guy's like, I just want to like follow up with you to see if weird stuff happens. Can we just stay in contact? He's like, oh yeah, 100%. He gives him the heads. And it was within days of him having these heads. He got in a terrible car accident. - Whoa. - And almost died. Didn't die. And this was communicated with the guy that gave him the heads and like, oh, that's weird. And then all of a sudden, no communication from Frank. - Oh goodness gracious. - And in fact, he couldn't know along your fine Frank. He just disappeared. - God. Tell me there's more to the story. And you're trying to tell me Descreg. Descreg. (laughing) Descreg. - Where are the heads? - They don't know. - Oh. - No way. - Don't know where the heads are. But a weird caveat to all this is the BBC, they filmed an episode regarding these heads back in the '70s and it was in the archives but all the audio was destroyed in the video and they don't know how. And so through, currently through artificial intelligence they're able to recover some audio of the doctor describing the werewolf in her home. But that's the only audio they've been able to recover. - Recover. - Wow. - That is freaking evil. - That's the rage story of the Hexham head. - Dude, just like a new highlight, that werewolf was kind of imprint on that baby. (laughing) - Goodness. - That's nuts. - I have a quick question. Just some housekeeping real quick. Josh, if I woke you up in a million hours like a werewolf was just standing over me, what would you do? - I would believe you at this point. Because of the rat. - Thank you. - We used to live in a house. - This doesn't need to. - It was a house that we lived in a long time ago. - Gotcha. - This is a long time ago. - Is it real or Das Gregg? - This is real. - Disreal. - Disreal, Das Gregg. We woke up in the middle of the night, Lily screamed. She said, "A rat bit my ear." - Oh. - I said, "I hate this story so much." - I said, "Lily." - He's like, "No." - No, it didn't. - No, I didn't. - O'Rat's not gonna come in her bed and bite your ear. Sure enough, she flipped on the light. Her earlobe is bleeding. - I'm so out on this story. And there was a recent problem with, with Rat. - We had a, we had a rat problem. - Crazy. I mean, yeah, you gotta, you gotta believe Rat that point. - So if you say there's a where, if you saw a werewolf, I would 100% believe you. - And we had a guy come out and fix our rat problem and he looked like a rat. - And he also sells hot dogs by tractor. - Hey, you got it. - You got rid of him, you got it. I'm not kidding. - One hundred percent. - Hey, get your bag, he has it. - Hey, get your bag, King. - Get your bag, hot dogs. - Yep. Two quick stories. - Okay, first of all, we had a rat problem. Surely I told you guys about this. - No. - We had a rat problem a long time ago. - That wrecked me and it's still, I really still think I'm dealing with issues from it. - Oh, okay. - We had rats, they were in the gutters. I could hear them at night and I was like, honestly, I'm pretty like, let 'em be. They're outside, like, what's big deal? Well, sure enough, they found their way inside. And we had been doing some plumbing work in our guest room vanity and I had forgotten, well, well, we had finished this like huge project and I didn't patch the wall where we were working into the pipes. Those rats got into our bathroom vanity and went crazy, unlike our toothpaste, our toothbrushes, and you could hear them in there and he's going around. Crazy. Second story, more recent, we were doing some stuff on the house again. And we had, we were doing the popcorn ceiling situation which we've ever dealt with that. It's like a huge mess. Yeah, it was very fun. And so we had a ring camera set up to like, to just kind of like, when we weren't there and check on things or whatever. So I went up and closed the house one day. I went to go home, locked everything up. We had these fans that were like cooling stuff off, turned everything off, went to go home. I had a call from Rage and she's like, are you still at the house? I'm like, no. And she was like, I just heard a voice on the ring camera. Why? And I was like, what? And she was like, we were staying at her parents and she's got the ring camera and she's like, got the audio and she's like, I think I hear something and she pulls it up. And it's like, it's like, she's trying to make out what it is. And then she gets like a very clear, hey. Oh. So she's like, will you go check? I'm like, okay, you go. (laughing) So I didn't drive all the way back. I turned around and I'm in the garage and I grab a baseball bat and I'm like, okay. I have a guy. I'm just making as much noise as I can. And we had like a disgruntled drywall worker at that point. So I was like, he's here. We got to take him out. He's in here somewhere. And then I'm in my head like, how hard do I swing the bat? I don't want to kill somebody. I want to just let him know they can't be in that house. What are you doing? (laughing) Leave please. Anyway, you couldn't find anything. Wow. I can't live there now. Do they have their recording of it? No, she didn't have. Yeah, we could have, we probably could have. Yeah, you got to think about that. Go back. But yeah, she was like, and I turned it on and it, I never got a clear voice, but you could hear like something. What sounded like something. So best guess, I've talked to some people and they were like, you know, wires can like the wireless stuff, candy and stuff, but that one was like, she threw her phone. She was retarded in the story and was like, I threw my phone and was like, I can't deal with that. I'm so scared. I'll send my husband into it. (laughing) Speaking of ghosts, we for sure had a ghost in our Springfield, Missouri home. I was gonna bring that home. Oh yeah. Little strange. It was a very, I mean, obviously you don't get, it's slim pickings as far as Airbnb's and Springfield house. It was an old house. Very old house and it's in me. It's in me, Wesco, so it'd be nice. Yeah, he was like, can I kill you? Oh sure. So they had, so we had four guys on the trip. The three of them, including Josh, were upstairs. And I forgot that there was like a whole basement, like which was like a couch TV, because not every room had like a TV. So I'm like, I want a TV. So I'm like, I'll take downstairs. You're wild about to you. I was like, I'll go downstairs. And so they had like two small-- You're gonna fall asleep watching it. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Do people know, people don't, I think know that you fall asleep watching TV. I do. You consume more TV and movies than it's like inhuman. How you're able to-- It is pretty impressive. I love it. So it's just an obviously like, it's a creepy basement. It's an old basement. It smells very musty moldy, whatever. And there's even like a door that has like a lock. And you like push it open and it's like underneath the stairwell. It was like an extended basement. Yeah, like it looks very much like the other barian. The other half of the basement, that's like, it's not like just a small, it's, you can-- I didn't even see the end of it. Like the size of this whole room. Yeah, in this door. You went in? Yeah, we both did. Pipes, wires. Yeah, but it's locked, it's like-- They need supplies. Not a, it's not even a door. It's just piece of drywall with a two hinges and like a lock on. Yeah, yeah, okay. Very sketch looking. So the first night, I, I'm falling asleep and I do hear, like, it sounds like a thump from upstairs or something, but it's enough to wake me up and like, it's send like a whole shiver like one. Like it's one of those things where you're like, you don't know if you're just like hallucinating a little bit. You're tired. But the next day we come back and I find-- You go downstairs. Go downstairs. That's the door already. Yeah, I've already down, yeah. So we're about to go watch a movie. I go back upstairs, close the door and everything. And then later when I'm coming back, like everyone's saying, hey, good night. We're going back downstairs and I get to my bed. Down the stairs. Down the stairs. And there is the crystal like clear glass door knob of the basement door right by my bed. And it's laying there and I'm like, is that a door knob? And so I pick it up and I go up the stairs and I try to put it on and the bolt is already pushed through. So he could knock it out of the basement. So I could get out of the basement. There's no door knob. So I call Josh or text Josh, I'm like, hey, could you? Could you, you know, like, all not so long? So can you count me and open the store, please? But it was just weird. And very stupid. I open the door. I'm like, surely you're not sleeping down here still. He's like, I'll be fine. Catch me dead. You really did sleep down there. Yeah.
- It was fine. - I'm like, I better know, like how far, like is there any chance that the thing just fell off, bounce down some stairs and rolled to the bed? - It's entirely possible. - Okay. - But I mean, like, the stairwell wasn't like, the bike bed wasn't right by the stairs. It was like a 10 or like, 10, 15 feet. And so it would've had to roll, but it's like, when did it happen? - Why did you sleep down there? - It was fine. - What movie do you watch? - Oh, it was Hill House. - Crazy. - You're nuts! - I just, you're nuts. - There's something about it. - You like to be scared. - I like the thrill. - I like the thrill. - Crazy for that. - I like to feel alive. - Yeah. - And then you were sleeping in a light turn on, right? - Yeah, so I was sleeping in the, it was an old dining room. So I had like the, like, French doors going out. They're like, glass and they just put curtains over them. And it was like midnight. And the light just goes (blows raspberry) in the living room. Like, and I got so mad, I'm like, who is turn on the light, bro? And so I go out and I turn it off. And I asked, did everyone like, said, who turned on the light last night? And everyone's like, not me. - You asked us like three times, 'cause you're like, no, you did, like, right? Like, you're like, no, you tell me you turned the light on. - Yeah. - We're like, we didn't do that. - So, so you go across the pond, have an experience in a weird place on your honeymoon. You go to Missouri, you have a weird experience. You go to Murphy's Barrow and have an alien encounter. Could it be that maybe, like the probability of you landing in all the haunted places has to be low. This sounds more like you have hitchhikers. - Hey, don't say that. - It's possible. - Maybe they just feel comfortable around you. - I think Murphy's Barrow is a hot bed. - Yeah. - Yeah. - That's where the KKK was founded, right? We didn't, we looked that up. - No, is that real? - I think so. I think it was Murphy's Barrow. - I don't know anything. - Hey, hey. - I wish I knew that. - Give me a fact about a loon. Give me a, who can give us a fact about a loon? - All right. There's something called a penguin dance. (laughing) - Do we have time for one more story? - Oh yeah. - All right. This is a documentary I watched last night. It's been on my list four years, speaking to me watching movies. I watched this last night and Kelsey's like, "Is this a horror movie?" I said, "No, it starts off like a horror movie." I mean, it's crazy because this movie, I mean, this whole, the whole story is very like twisted and dark. But this is about the disappearance of Nicholas Barclay. I'm not gonna tell you the name of the documentary 'cause it might spoil it a little bit. But he was born-- - Documentary's called, he's dead. (laughing) - He dies in the end. (laughing) - Nicholas Barclay was born in December 1980. He lived in San Antonio, Texas with his mother, Beverly and his whole family. He was a, you know, trouble teenager. All in the streets all the time. Always getting in fights. But he was a good kid for the most part. Yeah, he even got to the point where like he had like, you know, friends that were like tattooing like little crosses or exes on his hands and stuff. Always getting to trouble. But ultimately his family, sweetheart. Loved them. But on June 13th, 1994, Nicholas was playing some basketball with some friends. He called home because he had just previously gone to a fight at home and just left. And he's like, "I'm gonna go play basketball." He calls home and his older brother, Jason, reportedly answered and told him, "Just walk home, I'm not picking you up." So Nicholas never makes it home that night. (laughing) The family reported him missing an investigator started searching but never got on the news ever. It was not a world, you know, like a nationwide hunt or anything like that. So it kind of fell under the radar. And for three years, the family had absolutely no idea what had happened to him where he'd gone without no idea where Nicholas was. Now, in 1997, three and a half years later, October, 1997, the police get a call and this is in Spain, the people, the operator answers and say, you know, what's going on? They're like, "Hey, we're tourists. We found this kid in the rain in a toll booth. He's scared, he's not taking any food. He's not acting like he can really understand us. Can you please send someone down here?" And so the kid arrives, he's very scared. The police get him like, "Hey, it's, you know, we're gonna find, we're gonna take care of you." And they find out he's not remembering a whole lot. He's not saying a whole lot, but he remembers that somehow he was taken from Texas three years earlier. He claimed that he was abused horribly for the past three years. And according to his story, he had been taken by military people overseas to Spain. And he like, he didn't know where he was. So when he escaped his captors, he found out he was in Spain and didn't know what to do. And these tourists came up and took care of him. So turns out, they get it out of them that he is Nicholas Barclay. And so they phone all the way back. They reach out to his half-sister Carrie. She travels to Spain. She's from small town out in the outskirts of San Antonio, never flown anywhere, never done anything. She flies all the way to Spain. They make sure they're like, you know, they put pictures out in the front. They say, you know, let us know who's your family members and he points out names the family members and everything. And they issue him a passport and they fly him back. And he lands there. But the thing is, the sister's like, she, you know, soon she sees him, hugs him, kisses him, looks at his nose, just like Uncle Pat, you've grown so much taller, all these things. They bring him home and the mom hugs him, but he's just very, you know, skittish. He doesn't like, you know, to hug back and he's very, very quiet the whole way home. But the thing is, his whole family's there. There's video of him coming off the plane and them just welcoming him. They bring him home and the biggest thing and they try to jump into like, just like, let's get back into routine. Let's start doing this thing. Sure, he starts, you know, going to back to even school, all this stuff. The thing is, this wasn't Nicholas. What do you mean? This was a man who was 23 years old. What? Name Frederick Borden, a French serial imposter. This guy had stolen identities of countless kids and teenagers. So he purposely put on the act of, I'm this teenager. I'm scared. I'm gonna do this thing. He called the police, used his voice, disguising it, saying, we found this kid. You need to come help him, all these things. He sits down, acts trembling. He's talking, he's scared. And then while he's being held, he's able to go and access certain files of missing children. He starts calling Texas, New York, all these places. And they say, you need to talk to the child missing services. And so they're like, hey, do you have any kids that are around this age? And we got a kid here that needs some help and he's not saying his name. They're like, well, we have this kid named Nicholas Barclay. He's been missing for three years. He's like, okay, can you fax me a picture? It's a black and white blurry, you know, whatever. He's like, okay, he gets it. And he sells a person. Yep. He's saying he's Nicholas Barclay. So then they contact the family. The family flies over. The sister, soon she sits down. She says, no, I know you may not remember everything, but do you remember Uncle Ricky and your brother Jason and your mom Beverly? And he starts hearing all these things. Guess what? Whenever they go up and test his identity, he's Ricky, Jason, mom, Beverly, all this stuff. The whole time, he's panicking. He had gotten a tattoo where Nicholas had gotten a tattoo because it said on the missing thing, like all his markings and stuff, bleached his hair blonde. He had brown eyes and a Nicholas had blue eyes. So he wore glasses all the time. It made up stories how, you know, his captors had like, manipulated and you import solution in their eyes and abused them because he had actual scars and stuff from his childhood. But he's like, yeah, they, you know, they put out cigarettes on the all this stuff. And the family just believed it. - Oh, they wanted to. - They wanted to, right? And so they fly him back and his brother, Jason, who didn't live with him at the time, visits, looks at Nicholas and, you know, doesn't really converse with him. Says, good luck, see you later, gets out of there. That's the only interaction. And so this whole time, things are happening. It's on the news circuit. He's doing interviews and there's a private investigator that was like going in like, 'cause they wanted to find out who these captors were. They really wanted to get to it. He was doing a bunch of interviews. And they, the private investigators looking, he's like, with identity, ears don't lie. He's looking at an old picture of Nicholas when, you know, his kid and he's looking at his ear and then he's like, those don't match up. Eyes don't match up. This is very strange. So he starts diving into it. He starts talking to the child missing services and the FBI starts even to investigating into it. But while this is happening, this kid's having relationships. Like he's going to school. He's a 23 year old Frenchman. Like this is crazy. - But it's also sad. - It's also sad, but guess what? - Oh, hey. - The twist is there's a lot of talk because whenever the child missing services show up and they say, hey, Beverly, this is what we think is happening. There's a lot of things that are pointing that this is not Nicholas. All we need from you is a quick blood sample and then we'll get one from him. She refuses. - Yeah, I get it, I get it. - Fights, falls on the ground, screaming and yelling, I refuse to give my blood. They talked to his sister Beverly, that came and picked him up. Said, this is not Nicholas. Ignores it completely. - Well, lately. [BLANK_AUDIO]
So there are then private investigators is something else is going on. Why would you welcome a stranger into your home unless you had something to hide, unless you knew-- - Oh! - So the theory is, - They killed him. - Is that Nicholas was murdered by one of his family members and they knew that. And so they're trying to cover it up. And to this day, they do not know if he was murdered or not. But there has been digs, there has been investigations. Jason, his older brother, who didn't pick him up. - Yeah, I don't do hadn't wanted nothing to do when Nicholas got back, was not thrilled not anything like that. - Oh, that's weird, that's weird. - He unfortunately died of an overdose and so the investigation kind of stopped with Jason. But word got out because this, what's his name? Sorry, Frederick, he realized he was like, you know what, I'm caught. So he basically went out there, was arrested. He went to prison for I think six years because of a false passport, all that stuff. But still this day, there's no resolution to where Nicholas Barclay actually went. But this guy is absolutely nuts. Once he got out of prison, he once again, identity got busted for that. But now has a wife and three kids. And the documentary is called Imposter. I think it's on Amazon and golly, he's in it. And he's fully like telling you the whole story. - That is interesting. - It's crazy. - Is he kind of spooky, like kind of 10 to the divide? - Yes, big time. Yeah, he's a very, very scary guy. But I mean, it was, it's crazy 'cause he was speaking in a French accent. Like so, but like the families, like, you know, maybe he was there, maybe he was traumatized and all this stuff, like, that was it. Like he was like, oh, he doesn't speak a lot. You know, all this stuff happened because he's just so traumatized. - I am so scared. - Dude, it's-- - No, but dude, you're onto something with that whole 'cause they just like, why would you not, even if they wanted to believe that this man was their son, why would you not be like, yeah, I mean, just take my blood and let's confirm some things. - Yeah. - And like, even from there, like if you fall in love with this person, you could just be like, we're not pressing charges. Like let's just keep 'em in our family. But it's because it was convenient. - Mm-hmm. It's always the French. It's always comes down to the French. - Oh my word, that is spooky. - Crazy. - I'm tired of scary stories, you guys, I'm scared. - I got a fast one that's, it's horror, but a little heroism as well, how you do? - She has to go. - We'll then save it for Patreon. - Patreon, we're doing an extra episode right after this. - Yeah, patreon.com/ninjasarebutterfly. - That's right folks, you get an extra episode, you get early access to episodes, you get discount codes on merch. In 1982, construction workers in Florida uncovered a burial site in a pond containing over 100 bodies dating back 7,000 to 8,000 years. The bodies were preserved due to neutral pH and oxygen-free conditions, and some had brain tissue intact. DNA testing showed the people were genetically distinct from any modern population, suggesting a previously unknown ancient culture.
A structure believed to be a prehistoric castle made of shells was discovered in a Florida bay. Though its purpose remains unclear and may have been built by an ancient, unknown civilization, it is thought to represent advanced architectural knowledge for its time. The site has drawn speculation about a lost culture that may have lived in the region.
In a recent development, a team in the Philippines has reportedly found glass bottles and a woman’s makeup compact in a lagoon, suggesting the possible location of Amelia Earhart’s plane. However, experts note that the discovery is still unverified and will require extensive excavation and analysis before confirmation.
A loon is described as a heavy, aquatic bird that dives deep and takes off by running on water. In a family tradition, a Northern Pike — a predatory fish — once ate a baby loon. The family has since made it a rule to kill any Northern Pike they catch, forming a long-standing, almost sacred family tradition.
The podcast references a dark story involving a Power Rangers-themed episode that allegedly caused a curse, prompting a warning label. The hosts joke about it, suggesting the content might have inspired fear or disturbance, though it’s presented more as a humorous anecdote than a real curse.
